It is in the clock on the East Coast, it is five o'clock on the West Coast.
I forgot to put it as a single on me, but that's okay.
It is the 23rd of May in the year of our Lord, 2024 season 14 episode 31 665 times you have
been welcome to the clubhouse podcaster one stop shop for all things sports, entertainment,
pop culture, pro wrestling, that's what we do and it's good to be back in the studio for the first
time in like three or four weeks. We have been very, very busy and we will continue to be very,
very busy over the next few because we are actually going to be off next week because I will be
on the road. My name is Rob by the executive producer of the clubhouse podcast and you may not know
what's happening over here. That's called sunshine. We haven't had that in like three days.
I thought, I mean, it was really, really dark this morning. I thought it was going to happen
again tonight, but well, it may still that way for me is my co-host and a man whose shirt even
though it's not lens to be a real American. He is Alex. Well shout out to our friend of the show
Silas Mason. Unfortunately, he couldn't make it to the Metroplex this past weekend, but we're happy
to hear that he's doing well. However, that way is not sunshine. I think we're still waiting in
rock wall. Oh, is it maybe coming this way from you? Possibly. Okay. And we're going to talk about
what Alex just referenced a little bit later at the bottom of your screen right there. He's right
there. He's the official fact checker of sooner or greater productions and you may call him the
peach master. You may know him is Nick Boone, but his mom and even Don Ford. I'm going to call him
Don Ford. Hey, man. Thanks. First off, I got a real American shirt when I went to DC. That's real
American. I'm sorry. Nothing's going to top peach master. That's got to be assured by the
earlier part of that right before I said it. That's okay. But number two, yeah, it's in
Grand Prix here. It is cloudy out even a little bit of rain, but say in sunshine, wait till August,
we'll be begging for the cloud. Dude, I'm not complaining. I've I've I'd say it all the time.
People complaining about this, you're going to be begging for this in about six weeks. Oh, I'm
happy. Harry, I'm going to complain. Billy in degree outside. I'm going to let us dive in as the
title of this episode says we have a lot to catch up on. We covered a little bit of it last week.
Apologies for the static of my audio on last week's episode. When we don't have an engineer
working with us, it's very, very difficult for me to get good levels on things.
The students sounded great. That's all I care about. But thank you to everybody at Garland High
School for the ninth time having us out to do the show, which means as of next year, we will have
done half of them, which is crazy. As long as they have a spark. I mean, there's that. But let us dive
right in big sports news breaking yesterday. ESPN and their grip on all things sports.
As a wise woman once said, the more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through
your fingers. Because starting next year and then completing the cycle in 2026, it will be Warner
Brothers Discovery that will have all of the college football playoffs.
TNT, TBS, that whole thing. They will be doing the college football playoffs fully in 2026. They
start the games this coming season. Alex, I need you to hit the drinking news. All right, one moment
right here. We have breaking news in Rockwell, Texas.
The NCAA has just made an agreement with the power five conferences to allow schools to pay
their players as if they are employees. It's the first time in a year over 100 year history
of college sports. They will be paid directly by the school. It will not be NIL. It will not be
anything. You will have the schools paying the students athletes student athletes directly.
In addition to the scholarships themselves,
so if you're literally just broke. And if you're not in the power five,
people in the audio have no idea just what we're just having.
Sometimes they forget we have the audio back. And thank you to those subscribing,
whether you're on Apple podcasts, Amazon music, or Spotify. We appreciate you guys so much.
So yeah, that's a big thing. Yeah, so I wonder how much it's going to be a negative though.
I mean, it's good that the kids are going to get paid. But if you're not at a power five school,
does that mean your recruitment is now crippled?
Yeah, it could be. Absolutely.
And the thing is how much you're getting through the report and it just dropped. I want to see
if they're I want to see how it's affecting Notre Dame as well. See, here's my question is how
much can they get paid? Is there a cap? Because all of a sudden are they going to start getting
a million dollars. But not this broke for the details on all that may not yet be available.
Yeah, each school is expected to. Oh, okay, read between the lines.
Each school to share up to roughly 20 million dollars per year with its athletes.
So I'll be curious to see how that breaks down.
All the one athletes dating back to 2016 are eligible to receive a part of the share as part
of the settlement. Oh, interesting. So I question today, today hold out and stuff and say, hey,
you know, Florida states out from me this. So, you know, but Ohio states out from me that.
They'll they'll get banned. Because at that point, there's no negotiations on figures until
they are signed. Oh, really? Okay. And plus there's not supposed to be any definitive.
And they still can also close along with the antitrust lawsuit payout from the NCAA to student
athletes. Alex, they still can't sign with an agent though. Is that correct? I believe that is
accurate. Yes, because that that would render a professional athlete act.
Don, I have an assignment for you. What's that? In 2026 at the end of April, I need you
to schedule a trip to your home, your your secondary hometown. Because 2026, the NFL draft has been
announced for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Next year, it will be in Green Bay. But 2026, and I was
talking to someone because my my company is in Pittsburgh. Yeah, I was talking to some people
yesterday and they're like, we don't know where they're going to put it. You know, that's a good
point. Well, and I didn't even do it at the Oh, I wonder if they're going to do it in Oakland.
I apologize. I realized that might be a little bit of inside baseball. Yeah, I'm can be
university of Pittsburgh. PITT, let's go pit is actually in a town called Oakland, which is
which is why the student section of the basketball games is known as the Oakland Zoo.
Oh, so I'm wondering if they're going to be utilizing the campus or if they're going to do an
entire pop-up somewhere, which I can't even tell you where that would be because my first thought
I think would be the same as yours, Don. It's like, oh, okay, they're going to do it at the igloo
wait hockey's going on. Okay, maybe they'll do it at PNC. Oh, baseball's going on. Are they
just going to do it at Heinz Field? Well, aggravated stadium. Heinz Field at acupuncture stadium, yes.
Yeah, they can do it at Heinz Field. Or number one, they can pop up a thing at the
state point park at the by the rivers there across from the stadium. Number three, they can probably
schedule it one night when they could talk to the NHL and say, hey, we need it for, you know, three
nights. And here's the thing. Do you know how many people went through those gates this year at the
draft in Detroit? Half a million. Is that over the three days? Yes, yeah, but it was at their
slowest today was day three and they still went over 150,000. Oh, wow. Yeah. On a side note,
did you notice anything about where dynamite will be next week, Alex? Next week. Mm-hmm. I missed
this. Aggravated stadium sponsor has an arena in California. Oh, okay, that's funny.
So, you know, if they're going to get a hundred thousand people, why not two hunts field?
I will say the last time I was in Pittsburgh, we drove past agravated stadium and they're
they're still to refills. They just have machines out there on the concourse. Okay, they know.
So you'll have to wait and lie in refills. I thought that was kind of cool. Yeah, it is. And
a credential is a newer stadium. So it's it's going to be good. All right, so we'll keep an eye on
that. In the NBA last night, Dallas beating Minnesota. Crazy when you quadruple the number of
threes of your opponent and you still lose. So they are now one up in that series, Boston in
over time. Beats Indiana, Indiana, Indiana, Indiana in the first game in that series.
That second game is tonight. I'm be interested to see how that goes because the Pacers played
them tough in game. So we're going to see how that goes tonight in the NHL.
We have in the Eastern Conference, my Florida Panthers score early, hold on, get two goals in
the third. One of them courtesy of an own goal at the very end of the game and they win three,
nothing to go up one, nothing in that series. That was I apologize. I just want to clarify,
Don, was everything coming through for you on that one? Yeah, because after my Florida Panthers,
everything froze for me. Yeah, it's not wearing a little bit your video is. So I'm wondering if
you're starting with I think so. I would say so. Don's if Don hasn't hasn't had any issues.
I just wanted to confirm if it was just me, but did you happen to see the waved off goal
from the Panthers? I didn't see the waved off one. I saw the own goal.
Okay. Yeah. So the first goal gets scored early on and gets all the way to the third period.
They score again. Rangers fans go to get up to leave because New York and all of a sudden it's
getting reviewed and you have all the people walking back to their seats and then giving up another
goal not long after that. But Edmonton Dallas kicks off tonight. I honestly believe this game
one is going to set the tone for the Western Conference Finals. This is Dallas is a team that
they look great, but Edmonton is a team that seems to be on a mission. So this is I honestly believe
that the Western Conference Finals are probably going to be more entertaining of the two, although
both series will be fun to watch. I think the Western Conference is going to bring a little bit
more drama. I actually 100% disagree with you. I would not be the least bit surprised if Dallas
sweeps this series. They are a better team in every facet. The only thing that Edmonton has over
them is Connor McDavid. That is the entire list. I mean, dry side is a good player, but he's not
any better than stars. Anybody else the stars have. And they're just a more complete team with a
great coach. I don't see Edmonton standing up to it. They have too many questions between the pipes
as well. Dallas may be done by three or four goals tonight. Now I'm not a homer in any way,
shaper about it because I usually read against Dallas teams. Until a couple of days ago, I wouldn't
have debated you on that. But everybody in their brother had Vancouver destroying them in game
seven and Edmonton was like, hold our beer because, you know, Canada. So it's all about who's
hot right now. And that is true. That is where the parody of the NHL comes in. Yep. And that's why
I love the NHL. Russ is in the chat room. He says, Mav's Pacers and the Finals, Mav's winning in
six because game six would be on his birthday. I agree with half of that statement. I think it's
going to wind up being Mav's Celtics, but here we go. You know what?
Going into the playoffs because I said this all season long, who's going to stop Boston? Boston
is not playing consistent basketball. And the Pacers are the kind of team that will reach up and
bite you on the tukus if you want them. If you let them, they do get hot. They definitely get
hot on the shooting side. And Bob and Tom. All right, major league baseball standings boys,
let's get into it in the AL East, the Toronto blue jays four games under 500. They're 11 back in
so the AL beast is back. They are two and a half games are a game and a half back on the race.
The Razor game and a half back on Boston. Boston now four and a half back on Baltimore.
Baltimore is only three and a half back on the Yankees. By the way, Boston's on a four game
heater. Well, when you have Rafael Divers or Devers, however you pronounce it, hitting a home run
every single day. Well, did you see the other day? I can't remember who it was, but
hit a home run and robbed a home run in the same game and it's only like the sixth
time it's happened in the last 30 years. I want to say that was Julio Rodriguez,
but I could be wrong. I believe you are correct. In the AL Central, the Chicago White Sox,
there are 20 games under 500 in May. They're 18 back. They are eight and a half back on Detroit.
Detroit's three back on the twins. Did you see the story that came out of twins Nattinels last
night? I did not, but now I really wish Mike was in the chat room for that. So the Nattinels
have a a cart that will take the relief pitcher. The three hundred.
Oh, I did see this. Okay. Yeah.
Under bullpen. Don, Don, did you see the story?
So the Nattinels have like a golf cart that will take you the 300 feet from the bullpen
to where they they run onto the field. The relief pitcher who says he's been waiting the entire
series to do this. The closer comes in as he gets out of the golf cart, he tips the guy five
bucks. Oh, and when they ask the manager about it, he's like, that's because we teach our people
to be respectful. You do the right thing. Uh, this made around the horn and PCI today.
So, uh, but the Detroit is three back on the twins. The twins are five back on KC is actually
in second place in the division. So they might be playing a little baseball over their final.
They have a great young core. They didn't last year.
Well, they had Bobby Witt in a whole lot of what's happening.
Now the skies are starting to catch up.
That's the theme to what's happening.
Would you care to explain that reference? It's a TV show from the 70s.
It was called what's happening. And that was the theme song. But how does that apply?
That's what I'm getting. You said they had one person and what's happening?
Oh, okay. Sorry. I don't. I'm struggling with references that are
indicated more than me. My jokes can't all be home runs.
But you miss a hundred percent of the day with the great Fred re-run there.
Was re-run on what's happening? That's what I just said. The great Fred re-run very.
Who became a preacher? I love that show. Man, I love that show.
In the AL West, 10 games under 500, six and a half back is law.
Law is tied with Oakland. I was watching a YouTube video today
about from one of the YouTube holes I've been rabbit holes I've been falling down is a channel
called Travel Ruby. She lives in Vegas and she does all videos about Vegas.
One of the videos she did a couple of months ago was she and her husband got to stay at the
Tropicana before the demolition occurred. And she talked about the fact that part of the reason
that they're demolishing the Tropicana, which has been there since 1956, I think,
is because that's where the baseball stadium is supposed to go.
On the strip. Yeah, she said in her video that she talked to a number of people that work there
and every one of them said that baseball stadium cannot and will not be on this property.
It's going to be something else. And I'm just kind of like,
and they said it's not going to be available till 2027.
At the earliest. Yeah, they're going to play in that minor league ballpark for a while.
Yeah, and they actually have a backup deal with Sacramento to be able to extend it if need be.
I love the design of that stadium looks great.
But they are two them and law are two games back on Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston
Houston is a game and a half back on the Rangers. The Rangers now three back on Seattle. By the way,
happy birthday, Rachel. Yes, her birthday yesterday. And she shares a birthday with the great
Cal Dodd voice of Wolverine. Drop it in a hotel on Vegas on April 4th, 1957, 67 years ago.
I was a year off. Yeah, I'm sorry. What was that date again? April 4th,
you're they miss the exact to the day by two days because the demolition started on April 2nd.
Yeah, nice catch by that though, Alex. I saw where you were going.
So, oh, I honestly, I was thinking more along the lines of it is exactly like two months younger than
my dad. All right, in the National League West, the Colorado Rockies, they're 17 games below 500.
Maybe they need to move to Utah too. No, they are 15 and a half back in the division in May.
They are seven and a half back of Arizona, Arizona. Actually, it's Arizona that's moving
not Colorado. So that joke just completely fell flat.
I apologize to all my fans. Arizona's a half game back on San Francisco. The giants are a
game back on a Padre San Diego six and a half back on Misty's beloved Dodgers.
In the NL Central, is it so hey that just bought Adam Corolla's house?
Did you see that the other day? No, I have not seen it. Yeah, he bought Adam Corolla's mansion.
In the NL Central, the Cincinnati Reds, they're 10 games below 500 and eight and a half back.
They are a game and a half back on your Pittsburgh Pirates Don Pirates are a game back on St. Louis
who is three back on the Cubs. The Cubs are now two back on Miller Walk K.
And in the back of the five are they five back or three back? You're six back. You're six back.
Okay. You're a game back on St. Louis. And Lewis is three back on the Cubs. The Cubs are two
back on the walk. Okay, so he bought Adam Corolla's mansion for $7.25 million.
Oh, Hanthee or whatever. She probably showed Hayo Tani. Oh, Tani, he probably had that on him.
I'm just saying. Yeah, no, that was just that was just from the gambling fund.
And then the only reason they matter right here. No, it's there. And now each the Marlins are in a
free fall. They're at a 333 win percentage right now. They're 20 back in May.
It's funny when one of those prospects come up comes up for the MLB draft that seems to be a once
in a decade guy and how these teams just go, we don't got to play this year. They are five games
back on the Metz. The Metz now a half game back on the Nattinels. The Nattinels are eight and a half
back on my Braves. The Braves now six back on Philly Philly's one six in a row. Philly is playing
Great Ball. Do we remember who America's favorite game show was last time or North America's
favorite game show was last time we did this? No, because I can tell you who it is this week.
I feel like I could guess who it is. Dig a guess. The White Sox.
Really? Well, they want to go wrong differential for the Chicago White Sox.
Don. I can go big. I can say negative 75. Alex, I'm going to show Don what big is. I'm going to say
they're at a hundred. That would be minus a hundred for people. The Chicago White Sox are currently
played 50 games. Oh, what says minus 109? In those 50 games, they are 15 and 35. That is a
three hundred win. Of course, they're not a wins. I thought they'd. Again, they are 18 back in the
division. So if they had doubled the number of wins, they'd still be three games back.
They are 10 and 14 at home. They're five and 21 on the road. That must be what I was reading.
Three and seven in their last 10. Now, gentlemen, let me give you the other seller dwellers.
In the American League, law currently has a run differential of minus 28.
The Toronto Blue Jays currently have a run differential of minus 38. In the National League,
the Cincinnati Reds, who again are last in their division. They are 10 games below 500. Have a run
differential of minus nine. Okay, when they win, they pour it on. The two teams ahead of them
have more Pittsburgh minus 30 St. Louis at minus 43. The Miami Marlins have a run differential of
minus 82. Still hate that name. As do I. The Chicago White Socks. Alex is the closest without
going over. Russ is the closest period. Because the Chicago White Socks currently have a run
differential on May 23rd of minus 107. That is on pace for minus 325 328.
Yeah, that's where we're at kids saying there's a chance.
Russ with a great quote, missed it by that much.
So to clarify, what was the math on that was they are on pace for what minus three,
but three 28 330 somewhere in there. Okay, because the worst all time is minus 349
by the 1932 Red Socks. Woo! Sorry, I might one of my other laptop, the charger cable. What?
A team, I feel like Babe Ruth single-handedly just hit bombs off of repeatedly for selling him
as a young player. That's insane. All right, boys, we're going to see how this all works out.
Let's keep moving because again, we got a lot to cover. Disney Plus announcing that they're Agatha
series spinning off from Scarlet Witch from Mondevision. Agatha all along will debut its first two
episodes on September 8th. So they're backloading a little bit right now. They have actually also
canceled Raven's home after season six, but Raven Simone being an executive producer for the
network is working on a spin-off show called Alice in the Palace about one of the characters from
Joe. Fox has renewed alert missing persons unit for season three. I didn't know that was still a thing.
And apparently neither did my broadcast. We've been watching that for it's okay.
It's kind of it's one of those. All right.
Freebie has canceled Primo after one season. So if you're into that show, you'll just watch the first
season. Some big news from FX. Welcome to Rexam has been renewed for season four. Alex, are you caught
up yet? No, I am one show behind or one episode behind and I will wait. They have renewed show gun
for seasons two and three. So this is not just a limited series. Alex has watched it. I have no
to be on the surface level. It is one of if not the best show. It's top five for me all time already.
But there is also a very interesting thing that occurs at the end of what we now know as the first
season that I really want to talk about, but I will not spoil. I am going to get to it at some point.
All right. Hallmark, because Rachel's birthday week, they have renewed one called Heart for
Season 12. Hulu has canceled after one season this show called The Other Black Girl. This is about
a young lady who gets a job and she's the she thinks she's the only one of her demographic and
then meets another one and the dynamic they're in. Max has told us that Frank Grillo is going to play
Rick Flagg's senior in season two of peacemaker as broken by James Gunn. So and rusted, tell me
that the other day prices right with the Bob Barker era is going to be on buzzer starting May 28.
Go ahead, Alex. Now do you know the you have the note on why Frank Grillo being Rick Flagg
senior in peacemaker too is interesting? I read this and forgot it. Okay. It will be his second
turn as he will be voicing Rick Flagg senior in the animated creature commandos. So it will be a
continuation from animated to live action. And they have renewed Conan O'Brien must go for season
two. This is a a a travel show with the Conan O'Brien. I've heard a lot of good things about it,
but I have not watched it yet. NBC announcing this week that Cameron Cameron Manheim, I always
screw up her name. She is leaving law and order after this season. So there is that as they are
moving organized crime to peacock. They have canceled their the reboot of quantum leap after two
seasons. I know people liked it. Late night with Seth Meyers now renewed through 2028.
I mean, deserves it. Yeah, he does great work. And season three of Bel Air will start with three
episodes on August the 15th. So that will be coming back. Okay. Lots of news from Netflix.
Since we last talked about them, they are getting two NFL games on Christmas Day. So Netflix starting
to beef things up a little bit on the sports front. We know that they just did something live.
The Roast of Tom Brady. But it wasn't there a sports event that they did live. The Roast of
Tom Brady. No, an actual sports event, not a roast. Oh, I don't know of a live sports event that
they have actually done. That's the only thing I know of recently that they did live.
Fubar season two is coming up with the Arnold Schwarzenegger Carrie and Moss joining that cast.
I very much enjoyed the first season. Can I see some about her that kind of blew my mind the other day?
Besides the accolade. Yes. Okay. Very pretty.
If you don't know, look at them. Remember, I don't know if you remember, but there was a spin-off
of Melrose Place, the original in the 90s. That was called Models Inc. I feel like I vaguely
remember the commercials, but I never even watched regular Melrose Place.
Well, I didn't either. I just knew about the spin-off.
Carrie and Moss was one of the models on that show. I can understand that.
I just, I saw that thing and I was like, completely didn't realize that.
Let's see here. They have renewed three body problem for season two,
which based from what I have read, they're going to go a lot deeper into the source material
with the second season. So people were glad they were getting a season two.
Well, interestingly enough, I know a few people that read this, read the material and was like,
it's actually supposed to be five, not three. So that might be more of where they expand.
We are getting happy Gilmore too.
Yeah, we are. Did you see Sandler's request of who to get in it, though?
No. He said, I will take a pay cut. I just want Tiger Woods and John Daley.
Yes, fair enough. There's a brand new show.
Well, yeah, sugar in it. Yes.
Okay. Yeah, he's actually the first person that talked about them doing this.
Okay.
Shane Gillis was a guy that hosted SNL earlier this season. He's a former writer. He has a show
called Tires that is about to debut on Netflix. It's already been renewed for season two.
Okay. I kept seeing it pop up when I was opening Netflix, but I was like, where's Kevin James?
Isn't this supposed to be his show? And there was no anything on it.
So that actually fills in a gap for me. So thank you.
They have also renewed my next guest with David Letterman for season five.
Hmm.
Russ says he is very much enjoying the Knuckles series on Paramount Plus,
which I have not yet gotten into.
And the theme song is the last movie was, I'm having a hard time getting to it.
And he said the theme song is The Warrior by Patty Smife and Scandal.
Well, that's what I used for Glow too.
Oh, it still haven't watched that yet.
Let's see here. Brian Video has said they have renewed Mr. and Mrs. Smith for season two.
I recently watched a YouTube video that was like 10 season finales that leave things very
ambiguous. That's the word I'm looking for.
And apparently that season finale was on the list.
Well, the interesting thing is as there were reports that they said, yes, we're renewing Mr.
and Mrs. Smith, but there's something about Donald Glover not coming back.
I heard that I'm renewing it, but not keeping your stars.
I don't you'll have to look this up or fact check me on this.
There was something about them not being married in the show or not returning the stars after
the renewal. There was some kind of weird note of, yeah, you'll get the second season,
but not how you want.
So they have renewed Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Okay, on Hulu, the original, right?
Trying video.
Brian video, the TV show.
Correct.
Not the not the Brad Pitt movie.
Isn't there a remake?
I believe it's a spiritual successor of something.
They have.
Prime Video also has renewed the boys for season five.
Yes.
Yes, please.
All of it.
Legally blonde, getting a prequel series, they announced at the upfront.
Did you see how it was announced though?
Yes.
Yes, I saw the video with Reese.
I saw the behind the scenes too for walking out and off it and stuff.
They are going to do a Spider-Man noir series with Nick Cage.
For those of you who don't know that is his character in Spider-Man across the Spider-Verse
or into the Spider-Verse.
No, no, and across or not.
It's both.
But we've been in the noir, which I think is really cool.
And Phoebe Waller Bridge.
Is going to be rebooting Tomb Raider as a series.
The bar is set low.
Yeah.
But she's a great pilot.
That last one, especially, I really wanted the Alicia Vickander one to be good.
I really, really did.
And it wasn't.
Let's see.
A couple of.
Yeah, back check.
I'm Mr. Mrs. Smith.
Okay, so Sloan's returning as showrunner.
But however, Glover and Erskine are returning.
It's not clear.
They don't know yet.
It's in the air.
Okay, so the reports were that they weren't attached.
I guess was what.
Yeah, it's still fun.
No.
Yeah.
Why the person committed was.
What's the run?
Yeah, showrunner.
Russ says that show that Alex is enjoying that I haven't watched since the first episode.
So that Fox has renewed the floor for seasons two and three.
It's a very interesting concept.
Oh, yeah.
Remember, I called that after the very first episode, because I was like,
they can make the entire season for 50 bucks.
What's the floor about the game show where there's a bunch of people on the floor?
Okay.
Okay, yeah.
So I'm sorry.
I said, go ahead.
You know more than I do, because you watch.
Oh, I think it got wonky again.
So Don, there are, there is a, a technical or technological floor that is divided into 100 squares.
Okay.
Every square is containing an individual with a subject matter.
They are, they consider themselves an expert in.
And what winds up happening is either by random selection or challenge.
One of the people of the squares winds up in the hot sea up in front of the group.
And they either challenge one of the adjacent squares.
So one of the ones touching theirs at their subject matter.
And if they win, they take it over.
Sorry.
I was saying it was listed by Rob Lowe.
Yes.
Uh, but it was, if they win the matchup, they take the square of the other person.
Now, what winds up happening when you get further in is you have people that have like
five, 10, sometimes even 20 squares because they beat another people.
So if you beat that person in whatever that subject matter is, you take all of it until somebody
has the, I know, riveting, riveting done has the entire floor and wins a quarter million dollar.
But basically, the more, the more you answer the more squares you get, the more you beat, the more people
you defeat, you get more.
It's kind of like risk, but you have to answer a question to get a territory.
It's, well, it's, it's interesting.
Don, I think you and Faith should check this out because it's a very simple in its concept,
but incredibly entertaining to watch.
Okay.
Do you want the interesting thing?
It's sorry.
Did he yonnet you during your presentation?
No, it's the third time he's yonned in the last 10 minutes.
So there's that.
I'm just getting, let me get him green.
Yeah, but, uh, but the real interesting thing, Don.
Yeah, let's do it in this circumstance.
What do you think you know as well or better than anybody else that would qualify for a subject?
Uh, social studies.
Okay, social studies.
So let's do like school things, social studies.
Well, no, no, no, no, it's really they get wild.
They really get wild with these subjects.
Now, if you challenge me at whatever my subject is, but I beat you,
I inherit your topic.
Okay.
So I could wind up getting something that I have no idea.
No, no, no, no, yeah.
Yeah, now what's really cool about that is it instigates people who don't know the topic
they've inherited to attack others in topics they may know,
rather than sit back and wind up having to defend something they're not familiar with.
And then the person that gets all 100 squares, there's a cash prize at the end.
Yep, quarter mil.
But every, oh, the every episode whoever has the most squares gets 20k.
And that SNL when Shane Gillis oddly enough hosted, they did a take on that.
Oh, really?
That was pretty funny.
Yeah.
They finished the season strong.
The last two episodes, especially, actually three, because you had the duolipa
and then you had Gosling and then Jake Joe and Hall was the season finale.
Okay, there were some good stuff in there.
So sad news, sad news in the world of music.
For those of you that know me, you know that I do.
Do those thing in every once in a while, but I am actually a musician.
I play saxophone.
David Sanborn passed away a couple of weeks ago.
One of the best sax players on the planet in my opinion.
I always go back to, he did an episode of the Arsenio Hall show in the 90s.
And Arsenio got flustered at one point and he was going through something and he was like,
I'm sorry, I'm just such a huge Sanborn fan.
I want to go straight to that.
Amazing saxophone player.
He passed away a prostate cancer we found out, which is always a good time to remind people.
Go to your appointments, get yourself checked, especially as you get older.
You know, they've lowered the colonoscopy to 45.
So I had that done a couple years ago.
Just keep up with your checks, kids.
Because we want you here for a long, long, long time.
Of course, you know, we also lost Roger Korman.
Well, before last time we talked and Daveney Coleman, man.
So big fan of all three of those guys and their work.
Or 59 to 5.
There's a brand new documentary coming out called Still 9 to 5 or something like that,
where it compared the concept of that film to current day.
That's premiering at the end of the film.
So, but you know, he kind of, he played so many different roles.
But he, you know, if you take, you know, very hillbilly's, a whole array,
but you take, you know, 9 to 5 is what probably his most known role.
Most people would say, but he could do so much different stuff.
Like hook and dagger, he plays a good guy.
Hook and dagger's a great.
I have the blue.
Yeah.
So he was so versatile and stuff like that.
And now, and Rusted want to say was 10 years ago today, he had open heart surgery.
So make sure you're getting your checks for sure, Alex.
Yeah.
So the big four, because if you go on IMDB, they always go with what people are most known for.
In order, the big four for Daveney Coleman are his war games.
9 to 5.
You've got male and tootsie.
I think those are just like my fan votes probably.
Yes.
Of ratings.
I believe they do it by traffic.
So of
something's a little bit in Alex's wheelhouse and of an era coming to an end.
Some 41
as they're going to play their last show on January 30th of next year.
I saw a clip the other day that came up in my YouTube algorithm
of them on Sirius XM doing a Metallica medley.
Pretty cool.
Now, they are really talented guys.
Now, they they were known for
idiocy a lot during their breakout.
But they were some talent.
They are some talented guys.
I'm a big fan of theirs.
So in movie news, my wife is incredibly excited right now.
As two weeks ago, it was announced.
We are getting a third Downton Abbey film.
Not only that,
but Paul Geomadi is joining the cast.
So my wife is very excited about
about this.
Okay, I'll know Paul Geomadi.
But he's that New Yorker accent.
This is an English thing.
How is that?
That man can do anything.
I know he can't.
But
thing.
I know he can't.
It's all acting done.
Well, that does.
That doesn't mean it has to stay in that location.
I mean, didn't the second movie go to like Spain or something?
I'm just saying.
I'm sorry.
I don't.
I get that transforming the bond.
You you shut your dirty mouth.
Hey, who brought in this dead horse that's getting beaten?
For the record, all Geomadi is from Connecticut, Don.
It's called Roger.
Roger the world.
There will be no MTV and the movie and TV awards this year.
They're going to skip it this year.
They're going to retool it for next year for the 19 people.
Watch that show.
Well, I think they're trying to find a way to make it 20.
We also saw that another addition to the fantastic forecast, Natasha Leone.
Yes.
Is in this in and out of this cat.
This movie better deliver for the way the people there.
You said the MTV movie awards.
It's also what they're the movie and TV awards now, Don.
Just be the movie awards, but they had TV a few years ago.
And Donnie Yens character Kane from John Wick four is going to get a spin-off film.
So I give me more John Wick.
I'm good with it.
Moving you money again as a badass.
That that was awesome.
Movie new releases in places you get movie new releases this week.
The two people on this show that are not me.
We're able to see Furiosa a Mad Max saga.
Those are up on at www.theclubhousepodcast.com.
That's our website.
Don you didn't say it?
That's our website.
No, you have to say it.
Nope, you ruined it, Don.
But I will say this.
Their reviews are kind of in line from just about everything else I've seen.
So I have got to get myself through the theater.
Oh, you mean our opinions line up with the popular?
The Camasses.
Pretty much.
I would normally feel less with the cover.
Much less with each other.
Yeah, I am very surprised.
Also this week the one third of the people on your screen that is me
has seen the Garfield movie.
I got that review up as well.
And also yesterday was the Blue Angels.
My review is up for that at www.theclubhousepodcast.com.
That's our website close enough.
Also this week, let me pull this up because I was not prepared.
I've got that can't be the same one, is it?
That's why I love how IMD because of release calendar.
We have a movie called Site coming out this week.
This has Terry Chen, Greg Keneer is in this as well.
When a blonde Orphid arrives in his waiting room seeking a miracle,
a world-renowned eye surgeon must confront his past and draw on the resilience he gained,
growing up in China during the cultural revolution to try to restore her sight.
I have seen the trailer for this.
This is a faith-based film, but it looks really, really good.
Also this week, Queen of the Duce.
This is a documentary about Shelley Wilson,
who escaped the Holocaust and built an empire of adult cinema in the 1970s in New York City.
Okay.
That is also this week.
That's kind of like we got opposite ends of the spectrum with those
covered the whole thing, covered the whole thing.
Let's see movies on DVD and Blu-ray this coming Tuesday, Bob Marley One Love,
which Don has seen.
I have not.
I know it's on Paramount Plus right now, so I do want to watch that.
Arthur the King, which I have seen.
It's middle of the pack.
In the land of saints and sinners, this is Liam Neeson's.
Having a particular set of scales because it takes place in Texas.
The criterion collection adds anatomy of a fall from last year and the Michelle Rodriguez
girl fight gets the criterion collection treatment this week, gentlemen.
One quick tech talk headline because normally we don't do tech talk, but I saw this headline,
and when I'm sorry, what?
Atari, yes, which is still a thing.
They have acquired the brand and the library of Intellivision.
Yep.
My wife had an Intellivision when she was a kid.
So get ready for really strange looking gains coming your way.
Because Intellivision's graphics were just, if they were so overblown,
they had that weird, it's a thing.
But now, with that curiosity, and I apologize if this has already been discussed.
Did you talk about the jump to beat the other merge
streaming services with peacock, Netflix, and whatnot, jumping the line to get ahead
to be the first major one released?
I will have to look it up, but we were talking on prior episodes about multiple streaming services
combining like Disney, Hulu, and the ones going with them.
But there's another grouping that is Netflix, Apple TV, and peacock
that are announcing that they are combining and going to release ahead of the other super streamer
just to be first.
Mercy, you keep an eye on that in the meantime.
Yeah, the way I kept seeing it was, oh good, so we're back to cable.
In the meantime, let me hit this button.
It is time to get into the other half of this show.
As we talk about the world of professional wrestling and boy do we have a lot to talk about.
By the way, if this is the section of the show you would like to focus on,
we now isolate this half of the show and put it on our YouTube channel.
Whether or not we will go to audio for that, I haven't decided yet.
So use the QR code, it's over there, check it out.
All right, tonight on impact wrestling.
Well, no, TNA, TNA impact is the name of the show now.
Last week there was a tag match, ABC versus Speedball Mountain.
The winner of that match, being Speedball Mountain, now must face each other.
And the winner of that match becomes your number one contender for the exhibition title coming up
at some point. I don't know if it's going to happen next week or if they're going to wait till
slam aversory, which is next month. Or no, July, not June yet. But
congratulations to someone Alex is a fan of.
Reality of wrestling has a new Texas champion, Ryan Davidson, with a very long run with that belt
drops it to one Danny Limelight. Absolutely. Shout out Danny Limelight.
He says he will now change the name of the belt to the Empire State Championship
because heels will do heels things. And that was the second shot of that title.
The first one he did not win. Speaking of things of its ilk,
Alex had an adventure last weekend. And I'm going to say this, Alex, not exactly
the execution of where you were is not what I had anticipated. Because I thought this was going
to be one show and then a couple of things. But apparently what I am seeing now is they did a lot
of taping. Oh, yeah, over to you because it is your story to tell my friend.
Well, I first want to clarify that it was really cool to not have to go further than 20 minutes
from my house for a paper view event. But I do also want to shout out the OC theater in Forney.
That was an amazing intimate venue. So it was a little bit smaller, but it was a
weird configuration. But it works perfectly. And there's not a bad seat in that place because of
how it staggered. It was really impressive. So number one, shout out to the venue being really,
really cool. Number two, oh my god, was it so much better than I was hoping for? Like I expected
it to be a good event because the Crockett Cup is a major event. But for me, who is usually pretty
critical of performances and things of its ilk, every match was quality. I mean, there's going
to be an upcoming on power, a ridiculous match, but even they told that story well. So like every
match was quality, it was a very enjoyable time. I was less than five feet from the ring the
entire time. But it was, it was awesome to watch. It was great. I had signed guy Rick to my right.
Whereas in the past, the Crockett Cup has been a pay-per-view presentation. What Alex was
therefore is a multi-week on the CW app episodes of power that will be the Crockett Cup,
which is a little bit different. Yeah, and I believe this weeks or this coming weeks
first round of the Crockett Cup did not occur at the venue. It started at the quarter finals.
So we had down to the Elite 8. There were title matches. There were special attraction matches
that you would have in there. I don't know if we're going to get Baron von Storm on an episode,
but we are going to find out. But it was really, really good. And you know what? I want to talk more
about specifics, but I know I'm going to spoil things and I do not want to spoil upcoming TV.
But I will say, if you are anywhere near where NWA is filming, doing an event, or anything,
do yourself a favor if you love wrestling, go watch. Because it could not have been more
than friendly quality entertainment well beyond the ticket price. But at that same point,
there may have been three minutes of downtime between matches because they covered probably two
months' worth of episodes or close to it. Maybe six weeks. I'm going to say it'll cover
maybe six weeks. But every bit of it was just quick go, quick go, and everything was good.
It was one of the most enjoyable wrestling events I have ever gone to. And unlike Don,
I've only been to one mania. Don's been to three. Right. But what I'm saying is, I think I enjoyed it
shudder to think because of what it is. Because of the smaller, more intimate nature. I kind of
enjoyed it as much as going to Mania. Would you like to tell people what you've been to three manias?
Four. Four. Oh, you went both times in Dallas, didn't you? Yeah, he has two Dallas and two Houston,
right? Yeah, 17 and 25 or X7 25 of TLC and 17 and then the Undertaker 25 and then two and
Dallas. Alex, would you like to tell people where to look for you?
You were all the picture and I didn't want to say it because I wanted you to say it. But that's
the interesting thing. That photo is not broadcast. That photo is from the other side in the back row.
But I am right next to the ring. If you're looking at hard cam,
when you get to the episodes, the hard cam is to my left. So I will be on camera right next to
the ring. And if you get to the shots where you had Billy Corgan, Joe Galley, shout out, Joe Galley,
then Danny Deals, their booth was directly behind me. So I was holding off on it. I probably should
throw up the picture because I had to do the stupid selfie thing of like look what's behind me.
It was a great, great time. So be on a lookout for Alex over the next few weeks,
multiple times on par with three hours. I'm going to be on the CW almost as much as one of the
flash guys. One step closer to knowing people that's into the show.
There was an announcement this morning of something I am saying is coming for about two years now.
In 2026,
summer slam will be at US bank stadium in Minneapolis. Two nights. So we are now one step closer to
what I've been saying is coming that all of the majors will be two nights. Now why summer slam is
the next one. If I were to pick one, I still would have picked the rumble to be two nights.
But I think that's I still think that and survivor series will still wind up as two night events
by the time the dust settles. I think this might be a don't be mad at us situation. It will give you
two nights of summer slam even though you're not getting the mania. Yeah. I think that that's part
of it. But you're right. I am shocked. It's not originally going to be something that has a
an event like that. The two ones I would have thought would have went two days before summer slam.
I genuinely would have thought it would be the rumble or money in the bank. Also my thought.
Now great. We could also do survivor series because you have war games. Yeah. But the pattern
you have there is something where you have a main event or a major event on both nights that
will have the men's and the women's. Yeah. Interesting note from Dana White a couple of weeks ago
where he's talking about TKO doing branded weekends with his power slap league happening on Friday
night. UFC Saturday night and WWE going back to Sunday night. I'm interested in where this goes.
Would they all be in the same city? Is it going to be an extravaganza? How is this going to work?
I have a spoiler for you or would power slap be like their NXT? Go ahead Alex.
They're already doing it. Are they? They're already doing it in select situations. But it is in
the same city. The ones that they've done currently in the same city not necessarily the same venue.
But what they have done is had package deals where you have the UFC event and then the plea
separately. Now they're trying to sell it initially and pardon my boojiness for a second. So I
just want to preface that. The reason I know about this is because they're doing it for sweets.
So they are selling sweets as a short term seat licensing essentially where you get that sweet
for the weekend. Which means you have that sweet for SmackDown, you have that sweet for UFC,
and you have that sweet for anything else that comes. Whether it be a plea or raw, they're already
doing that kind of thing as a trial run. However, immediately after Dana White said this,
Nick Khan came out and said, we're not moving this on days. Yeah, so that got a little interesting.
Congratulations to Nikki Cross. She has completed her master's degree in history and she is working
towards her doctorate. Yes. So we could have two active wrestlers with a doctorate.
We call it, but not two DMDs. Correct. Well, I was going with this Xavier Woods, but
okay. Well, I guess that makes three. I didn't know we had a doctorate. Yeah, he was the first.
Oh, wow. Okay. That I do not know. I feel like it was like library services or something off.
Like I'll look it up. Okay. We know that Zalina Vega was out of the queen of the ring tournament
with an injury. We have no update on her. Don, one of your favorite things coming up July 7th,
Shark Week. Did you see who's hosting Shark Week this year, Don?
Uh, is it the rock? John Cena. You mean the one, Dana?
He is hosting Shark Week this year. Last year, last year, I think it was the Momoa.
If I were right, it was. Actually, it might have been the Moa two years ago, because I feel like
Hemsworth did one either before or after. I think Hemsworth would have been two years ago,
because that was right around love and the funder.
Educational psychology. Oh, for example, Julia was at the event. Was it Marigold? Is that
the name of the promotion that she's helping support over there? Uh, I, I quick correction.
Xavier Woods does not have a doctorate. He is working towards his doctorate. Oh, I thought he had
gotten it. Okay. Uh, this report from WWE itself says he's currently working on it.
I don't know. Um, but was the name of this, the promotion, Julia was helping. I was at Marigold.
Was that the name of it that just started up?
Anyone? Sorry, I was looking at a consulting report that says that he did finish his PhD.
Now I'm very confused. Okay. Uh, I apologize. Could you repeat what you said?
Julia is working with. Is that called Marigold? Is that the name of it?
I believe that's what they're working on. I'll take a look. She injured.
She has a broken wrist. That's a result of that. So we're going to see how that goes.
We also want to send our best two brandy roads. Uh, she said that the story of Maurice and her
surgeries earlier this year inspired her to go get checked out because she was having some pain.
She actually underwent successful surgery after finding out she had stage four endometriosis.
So yeah, stage four. What's that basically? It is, uh, it is a female condition.
Where, uh, there's growth outside of the female reproductive organs. Okay.
I know enough about it. I'm not a doctor. Okay. What I read about it is, and she said it is
incredibly painful. And then she found out she had it and had the surgery. The surgery has gone
successfully. And she will be checking with her doctor periodically to make sure that there's no
other complications. So our best to rent brandy roads because, oh yeah. We have a new number one
contender for the speed title. And it is one Tyler Tyler Bate. So that will be the first title
defense. Alex, go ahead. Uh, the full name is Dream Star Fighting Marigold. Okay. For short,
it's Marigold because if you look at it in the same concept of where, uh, Roshio Gawa started,
he founded a world wonder ring stardom that we commonly know as stardom. So it seems to be a
pattern. So calling it Marigold seems accurate. The official name is Dream Star Fighting Marigold.
All right. Boys, we are 48 hour or less than for about 36 hours away from King and Queen of the
Ring this coming Saturday. We will know who the two, the final two contestants are tomorrow night
as Smackdown is in Jeva. So we're going to see how that works out. What are you boys looking forward
to on this card? I mean, I'm looking forward to seeing how King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring
works out. But that's really about it. I don't see any belts moving. I thought that they were
probably going to do, um, Jake Cargill versus Bianca championships having to take each other on.
That's a present night. X got the, you know, I know she lost and he made it a simple, uh,
feasible way for her to lose without making her get a pen, you know, the gift you or whatever.
But I thought it was going to be Bianca versus, um, you know, uh, Jake Cargill in the semi finals or
whatever. I know. As did I, but I'm kind of glad it's not because that story is just getting underway
and to hit them again or this quick, I would have understood if they had done it. And that's really
what I was looking to. But I'm actually glad they didn't let this, let this thing put you out a little
bit. Yeah. Yeah. And the other aspect is, and I rob Don, one of you, uh, can absolutely help me.
Who was it that always said a great tag team is just a better program waiting to happen?
That I do not know. But I like it. Okay. Um, I know I'm butchering that quote, but there was,
I, it might have been Michael Hayes. Uh, but the gist is is that tag teams that get along always
seem to have better rivalries. And I feel like this one's going to build to something for a while.
And as much as we love Jade Cargill, she looks like a star. She's doing admirably. She's not
ready to carry her own yet in my opinion. She can still handle the squash matches. But working
with Bianca is going to get her to that point. Agreed. Then there's two easy ways. Either Bianca
turns on Jade because Jade's getting to be the bigger star or Jade turns on Bianca because she
quote no longer needs her. There's our one of two ways. But I kind of dig the fact that we don't
really know which they're going to go. Yeah. Here's what we have time. Mark your calendars for
September 13th. That is the day. Smackdown will move to USA. So you'll have raw and Smackdown
on the same channel for about two and a half months. It's going to be pretty cool.
Prepare yourself for that. The only note I have for the last couple of episodes of raw
I dedicate to Doc. Because Lillian, Lillian, we had Lillian. And apparently she was just there to
see where she was. And she just want to stop by and say, hey, and H was like, no, hey,
why don't you go do some announcing? Yeah, that was just deal. So respect to H. NXT,
Jada Parker and Fallen Henley have advanced to the Women's North American title ladder match
as have Saul Ruka and Lash legend. So the field is halfway there. You'll get the other half
probably. Let's keep finding ways for me not to care. And Lola Vice turned on Shayna Baszler,
got a carafina clutch for her trouble. And I can never say that right. But Ava Rain said they
could have a match at Battleground and it ends with Shayna Baszler going, nope, needs to be NXT
underground. So given where they're going to be, kind of here for it. Like I hope they have a cage
ready. They're got one set up. I do want to go back. I thought about this. I think if there is a
belt that moves at the King and Queen of the Ring, it might be Sammy's in and Otis doing something
in there. I think Otis. I think Otis cost Gable. And that's when the creeds turn on Alfa Academy.
See, and the other booking I was thinking of was that Gable because of the creeds winds up winning
and then Otis for the face turn or embracing the face turn, which would be accurate.
I think I would just Otis goes on a face turn. Otis being Otis.
AEW all out has been moved back six days. It will now be September the 7th, which is a Saturday.
So it's not that and all in back-to-back Sundays.
It's still not far enough apart. But I agree. But you and I talked about this the other day. I think
it was and you availability. And I think going forward, they'll space it out a little bit more.
Yeah, because it's just too much too fast, I think. You know, you really want it when you're going
to the UK, you really want to build the all-in. You really do. You want it. You may have time to build it.
What I would have done if I was Tony Khan, when I signed offspray, I'd say part of the deal is
and he get announced that even right now, me signing this contract, all-in, London,
Wimbley, I get the title shot. No matter who the champion is, I'm the challenger.
I think they get a lot of tickets ahead of time.
Right, but you've got time to build that story.
I know, but maybe they would start to build ahead of time where the offsprays get in the title
no matter what. A lot of people would go for sure then, especially if you tell them ahead of time.
But then you do it a week later, how are you going to get a great show that soon,
right after a big show you really want to promote?
Well, that's what they realized with the sales of all out last year, and they got nothing.
I mean, that also flies in the face of what Tony Khan was so adamant about,
but making it a sport of people earning their title shots,
which is why they're telling the story of the young bucks, giving Christian the title shots.
So I see where you're coming from Don, but that's something that the bucks would be saying in story.
So shout out to Ruby Soho and Angelo Parker.
They got married last weekend.
So Mazel tov to those kids.
Some injury updates.
Athena apparently injured.
They have not given us any specifics that I have read.
So we'll be keeping an eye on that.
We were you to has no timetable or return because he is dealing with concussion symptoms.
Well, pass on Ruby Soho, is that the pregnancy thing?
Is that real life?
Yeah, look up the pictures.
Look up the pictures from the wedding Don.
It's very obviously real.
Did you see the picture of all the AEW women together?
With five.
I didn't see that one.
I didn't see that one.
Yes.
Were she de-staturated herself in the picture?
Like, dear God, I love it.
Keep the gimmick off.
Eddie Kingston had a leg injury when he hit it on a rail at that new Japan show.
And they're saying now there's even more.
There's a ligament and something else involved in that deal.
So the timetable is unknown at this point.
And Chuck Taylor.
Chuck E.T. is done done.
That is not an angle.
That angle injury is not improving.
So his in-ring career is he is retired.
And our best to Chuck E.T.
I've always liked him.
He is the Kentucky gentleman.
And they just happen to be able to work that into the angle.
As we have seen over the last few years,
I don't buy it 100%.
But that may be some level of wishful thinking with the best friend's aspect.
Because between, I'm sorry.
I said that's very possible.
Yeah.
I mean, you think about it.
Brian Danielson was told he was done.
So Reya was told she was done twice.
Edge.
Adam Copeland set was told he was done.
Multiple people in the recent memory.
Shabbata was told he was done.
It's, and I don't mean to sound dismissive because I know how bad an angle hurts.
You can find ways to work around that.
I mean, how long did, and obviously it's a huge jump from him to Andre.
But Andre was basically immobile for the last five years of his career.
If you find a way to make it work, you can make it work.
I know they want him to be healthy.
And I still feel like there's a chance.
There's either medical advancement or something for him.
But at this point, that is the report.
Alex apparently will be renting a hotel room for a month starting in mid-July.
I didn't say that.
Because AEW slash Ring of Honor is going to be doing a lot of shows starting in mid-July
at the eSports arena in Arlington for what they're calling the path to all in summer series.
Yeah.
Now, I want to go on record and say that venue is crap.
It sounds nice.
But they're doing like eight shows over three weeks.
Yeah.
It's not an arena.
It's in the old Berlin V adventure center that's next to Chalkoff.
Yeah, it's the Old Arlington Convention Center.
It's not an eSports arena.
And that will include death before dishonor.
Let me do the allegedly.
At one point, that venue is so crap.
I was in a discussion to buy it.
Not a long discussion.
But there was an actual discussion of purchasing the venue.
But you, and I don't know this for fact, this is pure conjecture.
But I can say with a certain amount of assurity,
a surety, the concept of you just getting a month of hotel rooms in Arlington
has to have crossed your mind at least once.
Interestingly enough, the reason it crossed my mind was somebody else said it.
Oh, see, well, and that somebody wasn't me.
So, you know, your hand is right in the QR code.
Oh, okay.
But I know what you're saying.
Uh, yeah, that would, that would be the sensational Shawnee.
Brought that out.
Yeah, that, I think it's kind of cool that they're doing it.
We'll just see what they do with it.
Well, honestly, I think this is them hurting.
I think they're going to try and recreate the performance center.
And because Texas is arguably the best place not known at the 2300 arena for wrestling.
Uh, double or nothing is this Sunday?
Lot going on this weekend.
So we'll be talking about that here in a couple of weeks.
Uh, we had Dynamite Kids nephew debuting on collision.
And in a great debut match with, with now Dax the Axe Harwood.
So adjust your roster accordingly.
Oh, it's been Dax the X the entire time though.
I just heard them with the, the graphic for the first time was last.
Okay, so well, with the graphic might be new and I may have missed it.
But they openly said when they are new names.
Oh, yeah, they got the AEW is a tribute to demolition.
Right.
Dax is X cash is smash.
Dynamite.
Oh.
Two guys pinning the third in a triple threat match.
Really?
Um, sir, that was not a pin.
But they both won the match.
Did they not?
Because they they they did something almost exactly like that.
23 and a half hours earlier on NXT.
But it was at least dueling submissions.
Brian Keith deserves better.
I agree.
I like him a lot.
Anything else you've always wanted to talk about?
That's that's the run sheet on my end.
Well, uh, why don't you, why don't you think they try you to your Arlington
and go in the other arena and Arlington?
It may not have been available.
Not okay.
Because a crap venue is cheaper.
Plus there's nothing else going on at the sports auditorium.
Uh, so it's probably like, hey, we're open.
You can just, you know what?
I bet Tony Khan bought it now that I think about it.
I bet he bought that box of turds.
I will say the reveal of him in the car at the end of Dynamite was kind of cool.
But I I will say that the discussion for purchasing said auditorium
did not involve two commas.
So I'm betting Tony Khan bought the venue.
Well, I will say this.
I still stand by my prediction of where this is going.
What's it?
Did we not talk about that on the show?
I don't believe we did.
No, I wasn't there for last show.
So so the elite puts Tony Khan
through a table.
Correct?
No.
Okay.
Yeah, you did.
I'll make you enjoy him.
Yeah, they hit him with a,
I guess they called it the TK driver.
Instead of the Meltzer driver.
But they did injure him.
Yeah, when that happened, the first thing that came to my mind
was the fact that the outsiders
power-bombed fish off through a table.
And a month later, he joined the NWL.
I swear, I thought you were going with the Kevin Nash leg test.
That was cool.
But I I don't want this to happen.
And I am not speaking this to the universe.
But it was the first thing I thought.
And if it happens,
as far as I'm alive.
And it really not helping that WCW comparisons for
AEW, if it does.
And that's for me why.
It's like there's no reason for this to be a thing.
Please don't.
Like I've never been wrong so much in my life.
The esports arena only has like says 2500 seeded.
Uh, I have an interesting note for you on that, Don.
What's that?
Without a ring in the middle.
Uh, why don't they go back to Garland?
I mean, they have a good relationship with Garland.
You're more people in there.
Uh, that was a problem.
It was good.
It could be a availability for what they're trying to do.
Garland, um, let's let's just say there were issues.
We're not allowed to talk about.
Okay.
But that didn't you, Fair enough?
Technically, the city of Arlington is the owner.
Yeah, because they foreclosed on the damn thing.
An optic gaming is the, um,
the, uh, is the billboard on the outside.
Anything else, Donovan?
I never really knows.
I got to spare bedroom, Alex.
We're not well.
No way.
Hell no.
Wow.
I know where there are refrigerator boxes.
I'd rather sleep it.
Oh, wow.
It's happy.
Nice.
I was my home to the guy.
I actually, the words I want to say about the city you live in.
Alex has a note.
Art said on this.
Alex has a note.
I wanted to see how you felt about the Malachi Black
brood Copeland moment on the undynamite.
I did not see last night's show.
Whatever they made that out of.
I was like, yeah, I had questions because I was like,
I don't know if that looks real or just disgusting.
But it didn't work.
It didn't come out of the, the LED screens on the backside of the ring.
But I genuinely, I genuinely had the question of like,
we've seen that happen in multiple avenues.
Is this the first time it really worked?
Because I remember other ones just looking dumb.
And then there's the Kevin Nash one where it landed next to you.
And to look on his face, I can watch a clip on a loop.
And well, there's that, that's your high.
You're low.
No, it went to pull the pins out of the table.
Oh my god, yes.
Okay, so gone.
My wife was in the kitchen and she looked,
she just happened to look into the living room at that moment and she went,
that one supposed to happen was it.
Nope, Sean has just gotten in the door basically.
And literally went, what happened?
So don't I can't wait for Don's reaction to that.
Okay, so, so don't tell him what happened.
Oh, just no.
Y'all caught black and edge basically.
That's, that's one.
The other in the main event, in the main event.
Okay.
Well, was that the mean I think it was?
I don't believe it was.
It was towards the end of the show.
But it was Sodium Singh versus I honestly can't even remember clearly because of
the Brian Danielson because you had the big role.
That's right.
Okay.
Yeah.
It was it was Sodium Singh and Brian Danielson.
I howled laughing.
I almost peed.
I'm not going to be a moment.
Dom, you're going to go.
Oh, no.
Actually,
respectfully.
I think, no, Don, I genuinely think your reaction is going to be.
What the hell just happened?
Okay.
And the recovery is just insane.
And who was the recovery?
Who's wanting at the same pencils?
That's great.
Oh, uh, Steven got the pencils.
Okay.
Does he sent me a picture of him actually that he's actually using them in his classroom?
Oh, boy.
All right, boy.
