It is 7:00 on the east coast and more importantly this week it is 4:00 on the west coast and you'll find out why here in just a minute. It is the 16th of August in the year of our Lord 2020. It is season 11, episode 5. 538 times, this face and/or this voice has welcomed you to the Clubhouse podcast live on the Vocal Now Network. We are so glad you're here. We are your one-stop shop for all things pop culture and sports. Welcome. My name is Rob. I am the executive producer of the Clubhouse podcast, and this is five podcasts I've done in the last 48 hours.

So, I am I am there's there's a lot of caffeine in here. Let's just put it that way. Let us introduce the cast of characters. We start with my co-host and a man that just like we talked about on the chief podcast is so dedicated to this show even when he's at home. He has the show logo in the background. He is Alex. Hey man, I'm just excited to be on air. I'm getting pumped because we're getting closer to football. all can't wait to talk about some sports and some some news that's coming on with college football tomorrow.

>> Oh dear. Also with us, she is back. She is miked up in a way she has never been miked up outside of a studio before. She is the lady of the house. She is Jen Roome. We are so glad you are here my friend. >> Hello everyone. I'm so glad you're back with us again this week. And rounding out the normal deis as we are skating at full strength this week is the official factchecker of Sooner Gator Productions and a man just like me that after the chief podcast he said I'm not changing wardrobe I'm coming just as I came for the last show.

You may know him as Igbonu but his mama named him Don Ford. I'mma call him Don Ford. Hey brother. >> First off I actually did laundry and folded laundry between the two shows. So is just trying to get the laundry done. But check out this awesome like container I have for my Gatorade. This is a cheap podcast. And speaking of that, you can buy our shirts at pro wrestling.com/thecheepodcast to get some awesome shirts. And dang it, I NAILED IT. I NAILED IT. >> You got it, Don. And our very special guest joining us from sunny California >> is a guy that I have the very I've known him I guess it's almost been six months since I met this guy for the first time at the Fagatville show.

I've talked about him on this show a ton of times. He if you got need somebody to moderate your panel or conduct an interview, he is the guy I have actually guested on his podcast now three times. We just recorded one last night that you're going to hear in a couple of weeks. Always engaging. I very much enjoy his presence. Ladies and gentlemen, from Matinea Heroes, whose latest episode I checked out today where they talk about Escape from New York. He is Craig Price. Welcome to the show, my friend.

>> Welcome. And it's unusual because uh I know you, Rob. I got to meet Don at the Fet Show, but I've known Jen for a couple years thanks to the uh the Voldemort show that the show that will not be named. Well, then you met me because I was basically attached to her at the hip that entire time. >> I don't think we were properly introduced. I think uh you were like a the security guy that stood near her. So when I talked to Jen, you were just some big guy in the background. I was the muscle that that Arkansas, but thank God we were because you were a godsend in the AV department.

So thank you. >> I was happy to help and we had so much fun that weekend. The Donna did a great job on that show. >> The last I think that was the last con. Yeah, that was the last show before the world broke and you got to get you got to do some great interviews. I'm so glad that we got you wired into the board so you have those for posterity. >> That was such a great and we've talked about that show a billion times on this show. How much fun we've had. But let us dive right in. We always start with NASCAR.

NASCAR today we were at where were we today? I'm in the wrong place to know that we were today in we were at the Daytona Road Course today for the Go Bowling 235. Here are your top 10 finishers. >> The sponsors are really tough for the NASCAR nowadays. >> Oh, we're going to get to it. Wait, brother. Uh, in the number 34 Forge, starting in 30th position, this is a name we've never said as a top 10 finisher, Michael McDow. I loved him in Planet of the Apes. uh in ninth place starting in fifth in the number 224 Joey Michael McDonald joke there.

>> Uh that was McDow. >> I know but still >> he came in ninth place. >> Thank you in >> You're officially my favorite guest ever >> in eighth starting in 13th place in the number 24 Chevrolet the poet William Byron. Another new name showing up in seventh, starting in 10th, apparently taking time off from SCU. Caz Growla is in sixth place. Chris Bucher. Anyone? >> He sounds like uh these sound like Harry Potter characters. >> There's a lot of new names this week. It's crazy. He started in 21st, winds up in fifth.

And the number 17 Ford starting in 11th, winding up in fourth. And the number 48 Chevrolet is seven times seven times. Seven times. Seven times. Seven times. Seven times. Seven time champion Jimmy Johnson. Martin Trux Jr. starts in third, winds up with the bronze medal. Denny Moons over my Hamlin starts in the silver, winds up with the silver. Starting in seventh, winning the race in at the Daytona Road Course. He is the attorney at law. Chase Elliot. Let's go to your playoff positions because we only have three more races, I believe, until the playoffs begin in NASCAR.

So, if the playoffs started today, the only two guys that would have a shot to get into that 16 spot are Tyler Reick and the new sheriff in town, Austin Dylan. They are 10 points behind Johnson. Jimmy Johnson is tied with Eric Jones. They are both uh let's see it's 21 and five is 26 points behind the poet. The poet is 39 points back on he is three points back on the archer Clint Ber is 14 back on the other archer Clint Bowman. Bowman is about 70 points back on Kurt Bouch is actually three points back on his brother Kyle.

Kyle is eight points back on Eric Almarola. Almarola is 47 back on Trux. Trux is only a point behind Logano though. So that six-7 slot is up for grabs right now. But Logano is only four back on Chase Elliot. Elliot is 20 back on the Stone. Ryan Blay, your top three guys if the playoffs started today. Blay is 35 back on Hamlin. Hamlin is three points back on Brad Kesalowski, but Kevin Harvick has a hammer lock on this thing. He's 137 points up on Harvick. We have three races in the next two weeks.

This coming Saturday and Sunday. We talked about this last week. Very strange. Same name for the race. Same number of laps, same number of miles on the same track. Saturday and Sunday. I'm wondering if this is a weird typo, but it's at 4:00 Eastern on your NBC Sports Network from the Dover International Speedway. It's the Dry Dean 311. >> Yeah, I've been to Dover and they do have night races, so it's not completely out of the realm of possibility of that being a night race. >> I I like the night racing.

I think it's cool. >> I just want the second one to be called the Revenge >> Dine 311 electric movie. >> A quick side note to the NASCAR thing, you're going to be seeing a drop off from Austin Dylan because that new name of Cas Growla is actually his replacement since he has tested positive for CO. Look at Alex bringing the data. >> Austin Dylan sounds. If his middle name was Connor, he'd have the purest millennial name ever made. >> You mean Caleb wouldn't be in there? >> No, it could be Montana.

You know, it's all these basically you take any county in Texas and name your kid that Dallas. >> Basically, when you hear the name, you know, you could take him in a fight. >> And then Saturday, August 29th, we'll be back at Daytona because somebody at NASCAR doesn't own a map. And we will be back for my favorite race of the year because of the sponsor. The Coke Zero Sugar 400 will be on the 29th. Let's get into some >> and Craig doing the visual bit. >> Oh yeah, Craig got the model, doesn't he?

>> Oh yeah. Got to got to keep that girl figure. >> Uh so the T Mike Tyson Roy Jones Jr. fight has been moved. It was originally set for midepptember. It is now set for November 28th. So, that should be Thanksgiving weekend, which will also be the weekend before Who Needs Sleep. >> Well, so >> Mike Tyson and a Thanksgiving meal, I think, is what's going to happen there, cuz uh >> Yeah. Well, it's like a three round exhibition, which means they're both going to be padded to oblivion. This is going to be harder to watch than for me than Olympic boxing cuz >> Did you just say three round?

>> That was three, wasn't it? I I don't know for sure, but if it's only three rounds, I think we need to feed them at least an eightball a piece and then just let them go at it. >> Most exhibitions, the longest exhibition I've ever seen was eight, >> right? And that's I think that's the the norm for exhibition bouts, >> but we we'll have to look into that one. >> I I'm pretty sure with Tyson that close to Thanksgiving, they didn't want him they didn't want him too hungry, so they probably three rounds.

He shouldn't He should be fine by then. No chance. >> Somewhere a Vander Holyfield started twitching. Yeah, he's like listening out of that fake ear. Yeah, >> I watched that live. >> As did I. I got slapped because of that. >> It was so funny because we're sitting there watching. >> Someone slapped you. >> Somebody slapped me when that happened. >> He bit So Tyson bit of Holyfield and someone looked at you and said, "What the hell?" >> Well, no. Tyson bit Holyfield. I was with my dad. I repeated what my dad said, which we do not say things like that on this.

and my friend's mother slapped a taste out of my mouth that I'm pretty sure it's still down in Coral Springs somewhere. >> Yeah, I was we were watching it live and it happened and it was all of a sudden silence in the room for about 20 seconds and then one person went, "Did he just bite that man's ear?" And it was like, "Okay, so I'm not the only one that saw that." All right, Major League Baseball standings, the American League East, the Boston Red Sox, your cousin from Boston. I love those commercials.

Six and 15. >> Yeah, >> they are eight and a half back. >> We don't care. We don't care. The the season's over. We're counting through it. But doesn't mean nothing. It's nothing. >> Count they're a game and a half back on Toronto. Toronto's three and a half back on Baltimore, who was a game back on Tampa Bay. But Tampa Bay right now was only a game and a half back on the Yankees. In the AL Central, the Royals are terrible, but they're only nine and 13 and they're five back. So, they got that going for them, which is nice.

They're a game and a half back on Detroit. The Tigers are a half game back on on the White Socks. The White Socks are only two back on Cleveland, but Cleveland's only a game back on Minnesota. But when you only pay a 60game season, you're going to be locked up in a tight one for most of it. >> Extended spring training. This is not a season. That's why the Red Sox don't care. We're just playing, you know, going to get, we're going to see how good our young guys are and next year we're going to come back and kick butt.

>> In the AL West, Seattle at seven and 16. They're just waiting for the Kraken. They are a game back on Oh, I got my button this week. Hold on. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles County, California, America, North America, Earth, Milky Way, Universe. They are three and a half back on the Rangers. The Rangers now a half game back on Houston, but Houston now four back on Oakland and number one in your hearts for getting plunked. In the NL West, the Giants at 8 and 14 are seven back. They are three and a half back on the Diamondbacks who are a half game back on the Padres's.

The Padres's two and a half back on Colorado, but Misty's beloved Dodgers are a game and a half up on them. Don, >> yeah, >> you're Pittsburgh Pirates. What is going on? Four and 14, brother. I It's the season. >> It's the co. >> That's not even my favorite from this division. >> It is baseball season. Yes. >> But so YOU'RE SAYING THEY NO, THEY always start off slow, but then they come back after 80 games. But since it's only 60 games, >> I SAY YOU DON'T HAVE 162, DON. >> I KNOW. IT'S IT'S THE RIGGED SEASON.

They're rigged season. >> He was rigged. That's right. >> They're rigging season. He's all It's It's the >> Craig's jumping on that bandwagon right now. >> The Democrats want Trump and the Pittsburgh Pirates to fail. I got it. That's a new one. >> Pittsburgh is the reason I hate Andrew McCutchen. But you're four back on the Reds. The Reds are a h are a game back on Milwaukee >> and >> and and tied with St. Louis. >> But the just the the because St. Louis hasn't played any games. I love this stat.

>> Yeah, they're four and four. I mean, they are 500, but they're both three and a half. >> Keon quoting that that's rigged because in if the G play or if the playoffs started today, the Cardinals would theoretically be in the playoffs with only playing eight games. >> Well, we're going to get to that because I have an idea. >> And in the only division that matters, the NL East, Don, would you like to sing the song? >> Beat the bats. Beat the bats. Uh, beat the But he doesn't say it in front of him.

He can't get it right. >> Step right up and beat the Mets. Thank you, Craig. Craig knows the song. >> Everybody knows the song. >> I DON'T. I DON'T. Everybody but Don knows the song. >> The Mets are nine and just to let you know, Craig, Alex has very close familial ties with the Mets. It's although >> I was actually drafted by the Mets years ago. >> Well, we have to we have to put the qualifier on this. He is a lifelong Mets guy. >> Okay. >> However, >> I used to live in Queens. I was I used to live about three stops away from Shay.

>> However, if the group that has JLo and A-Rod end up buying the Mets, Alex is going to put his fandom up for auction. He has said this on >> and I am a man of my word. >> So, what is the starting bid for that? Because I'm thinking pretty low. I mean, dollar on it. >> No, I want to say I gotta put it high enough that Don's ruled out. No, I want to say that it was at least a billion. >> No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I want actual money for this. I'm talking about No, I'm talking about what the what the sales price is right now.

Oh, >> no. We haven't put it up for auction yet. We have to wait for the group to buy the team. >> If they don't buy the team, my fandom stays intact. If those >> and his grandmother talk about it at all. >> I almost swore um if those pieces of filth wind up buying the team, then I am putting it up for auction. But you're only four games out of first place right now. >> You're a game back on the Natals. The Natals are a game back on the Phillies. But the Phillies are two back on both my Braves and my Marlins.

And it's because the Marlins have lost two in a row. >> How many games? >> Well, it's because the Marlins started losing the moment they came back from their asks a valid question. >> I I'm sorry I missed the question. >> He asked how many teams I have. I have two >> in the same division. >> Well, and it's because I grew up in South Florida and so growing up we didn't have baseball. So Atlanta was the closest city and I could watch them on TBS. >> Yeah. >> So they became my team, >> right? >> So then the Marlins came along and I have to root for the hometown team, but when they play each other, I root for the Braves because the Braves have seniority.

>> But you don't live in Florida anymore. So they're not the hometown team. So >> they're my hometown team. I don't care about the Rangers. I like the Rangers. I love them all. >> If I could interject real quick, Craig, >> this is not a new argument and it will never end. It will never die. See, I grew up I was born and raised in New England. I will always be a Red Sox fan. I will always be a Patriots fan. I will always be a Celtics fan. Even when they do bad, I just got to go, "Yep, you're right.

>> You're missing a team there, sir. >> Ah, hockeyy's not a big deal." Um, >> BOSTON, >> HOW are you insane? >> Not for me. I DON'T >> HAVE THE BLOCK from Faniel Hall. I'm insulted. >> Yeah, go ahead. It's the Bruins. I can name people in the Bruins if that's going to make you feel better. >> Third jerseys a lot. >> It's It's just It's just a lot of guys beating the crap out of each other on ice, >> which makes it glorious. It's the ice capes and murder. >> And plus, we don't get to play America's favorite game show because the season's so short.

>> Well, we could, but it's just going to be terrible. >> We usually pick the worst team that has a run differential, and I make them guess what the rough differential for that team is and see who comes closest, but it's such a short season, we're not going to be able to this year. All right. So, what what I'm thinking for the playoffs, because Major League Baseball can't do this for themselves, Alex and I talk this through a little bit. >> Rob, real fast. Why don't we do this for America's favorite game show at the very end of this regular season?

What's called regular season? We have to actually pick the team and the negative run differential. You wouldn't even give us the team. >> Well, you could narrow it down to six, >> but still I still that >> All right, we can do that. I'm okay with that. >> Yeah. So, proof that people are desperate for entertainment during co >> Hey, it's content. I'll take it. >> You know what's even better was seeing Don on mute trying to get that in and not realizing he was on mute for like a >> Say something. >> Yeah, for Oh, I'll call it out.

I don't care. >> HOW DID YOU KNOW I WAS ON MUTE? >> BECAUSE I can see you. >> Yeah, there's a little red microphone on the screen when you're on. >> You're doing this. >> Oh, okay. All right. >> There's also that. >> Well, hold on. Jen's got Jen's got something >> at the same time. He knew what mute was and used it. >> That's fair. >> Debate that. >> She wins. She wins on that. >> So, here's what I want Major League Baseball to do because they can't seem to do this for themselves. They're going to have to go to a bubble at some point because the NBA has now shown, the NHL has shown that you can do this.

Once you qualify for the playoffs, your regular season is done and you go into quarantine. Now, if we get to the end of the regular season and we don't have enough teams for the playoffs, now the remainder of that schedule would be the remaining teams to play each other. So, you'd still have you could have up to 60 games because there's no you're not worried about fan revenue or any of that stuff because you don't have anybody in the stadiums. Once you get your playoff teams locked in, winning percentage is your seating and you can go from there.

I will neither confirm nor deny that after we talked about this, I thought of the reason why this doesn't work. >> Please, that's what we're talking about. >> TV revenue. Everybody has an obligation with TV revenue and they all have Fox Sports and without Fox Sports then that doesn't have it. >> But you get what I mean that I'm surprised they haven't changed. >> But it's still Fox Sports. >> No, remember >> that's the other one that's changing. >> No, Sinclair bought the Fox Sports Regionals, >> but they're still calling it Fox Sports, >> right?

But that's what I'm saying. But it's not Fox Sports. I'm surprised they haven't rebranded yet. >> They're not going to. >> They haven't yet. So he's still correct. Yeah, but they're going to have to at some point. >> Well, then >> Oh my god. Wait, I'm sorry. I My heart fluttered. Somebody defended me on this show. Oh. >> Oh, how's that feel? >> I DON'T KNOW. >> GO BACK AND WATCH THE PODCAST and find that out. >> But he's he's talking about in the future. Yes. And when when they do rebrand, you're right.

He'll be wrong, but he's not yet. >> I I like this hypothetical. >> I think it's getting right in the middle of I'm going to support Rob. I'm going to support Alex. >> I know. And and when Jen and Don make a comment, maybe I'll support them, too. >> No, I'm all about uh the truth. And Rob's >> Justice Craig Price coming in hot. >> Yeah, Rob's just wrong in this one. So, I don't know what he >> and he just said he's about the truth and he supports the Red Sox. So, I got >> And like I said, and when they do something wrong, you suck it up and you >> Well, that's more the Patriots than the Red Sox.

But >> Craig, I was raised here in Dallas and I'm a Red Sox fan. >> Oh, yeah. I used to go to Dallas all the time to see the Red Sox play. Yeah. I mean, >> my problem is every time I went to go to Arlington Stadium, Tim Wakefield was pitching and it would drive me crazy because I would want to see someone else. >> Did you ever get to go >> Did you ever get to go to the ballpark, though? >> Oh, sure. I went to the Allar game. >> I miss I miss that ballpark. The the the barn like I'm looking forward to seeing it, but I loved that ballpark so much.

>> Beautiful bar. I snack for good seats. I'd sneak in. >> Alex and I actually went to a Dallas Desperados game there. No, they're the Renegades. The Renegades. The XFL team. We actually saw the very last game they played. >> Yeah, I know that >> and it's just awkward. >> It's a great stadium or I guess it was a great stadium, but yeah. No, we used to go up there at least once or twice a year just to see the Red Sox. Uh we'd stay at that Windom across and uh we drive up stay at the Windom, spend a weekend.

We saw uh you know Hideki Nomo play when he was with the Red Sox. >> Hideo. >> Hideo. And then we What was the other guy? The uh the other >> uh amazing Japanese. >> Dice K. Oh, yes. Matusaka. >> Mataka. Yeah, Mataki. Yeah. >> Nailed it. >> Good job. >> All right. >> Better than me. I'm the fans. I >> uh we're going to come back to football because there's just a couple of little notes from some of the others. The Masters will be played without fans this year. They announced that this week. >> Um because it's always so quiet.

Anybody, no one's going to notice. Uh and the NBA, the Spurs have missed the playoffs for the first time since the season. Craig, I'm gonna ask you a crazy trivia question. >> Go ahead. >> Do you know who the Spurs leading scorer was in the 9697 season last time they missed the playoffs? >> I want to say David Robinson, but I don't think so. >> Dominique Wilkins. >> Holy crap. >> I was like, when was he a spur? Like he was always a hawk to me. Like there's no >> still is. >> I was on the phone with Alex with ESPN threw that on the TV and it just it stopped the entire I was like, "Wait a minute.

What? >> Yeah, >> Dominique. Really? Okay, fair enough. Uh, the NFL, the Vegas Raiders, both New York teams and Philly have said they will go fanless for the entire season. Uh, Green Bay will for the first two games at home, but Atlanta's going to is looking at doing a 20% capacity. Well, the interesting thing is is Green Bay actually reached out to their season ticket holders to see any interest based on the current climate. 80% opted out to say no fans at any point. >> Okay, fair enough. >> So, uh, the NFL is kind of trying to push for no fans period just to set expectations.

However, based on ticket revenue and everything else that comes with it, you know, merch, concessions, teams are trying to say, "Well, let's at least go the first month and see from there, possibly." >> And players will be tested daily until September 5th at this point. >> Well, the day, it's not daily. It's the testing is not the problem. It's getting the results. >> So, you can test daily, but if they don't come back for six days, what's >> Yeah, but like the NBA is getting it back in two hours, >> right?

The new testing method that they have uh that the NFL and the NFLPA have adopted from the NBA is same day results. So they are getting tested daily and getting the results. So it's been a it's a great boon. Uh they actually covered it very briefly on Hard Knocks uh the watch yet. So >> well I think they just FDA just approved that um >> nationwide for regular use. >> Right. No. Now, what the NBA, the reason the NBA had it was they actually funded it to have it ahead of time so that they were able to do the bubble.

Uh, and the NFL also threw some cash that way and now the FDA approved it, so it's going to be more widely available. >> And we haven't heard Alex's opinion on the FB on the NBA yet. >> Garbage. >> Thank you. Uh, let's go. Uh, also, uh, apparently Tua Tong Vioa, I can't get that right. He's my quarterback and I can't get it right. >> Tua Taigo Vioa. >> Uh, they Fox Sports, which we know now is still Fox Sports. Uh they're doing a documentary series on him coming up. >> Him and the family or just him?

>> Just him. His journey up to this point. I still my favorite quote of the week is still from uh Patrick Fitz Ryan and Ryan Fitzpatrick >> who said I know I'm just a placeholder. God bless that man. >> You mean Fitz Magic. Fitz Magic >> twice a year. U Tua has been very very complimentary of him. He said he's been really impressed with how Ryan's worked with him. You know, I like the guy. He's just not consistent. All right, now let's get into the biggest sports story of the week. NCAA has gone insane.

It has exploded. Uh the NCAA has said there will not be any recognized fall sports championships, which means no playoffs, no national championship in football. The Big 10, the Mountain West, and the Pack 12 have all cancelled their football season to re-evaluate in the spring. Uh UMass in the ACC has said they will not play football in the fall. Nebraska and Iowa originally still wanted to play and then Nebraska went, "Oh yeah, we're part of a pretty good conference, so we're going to walk this back a little bit." Uh the Big 12, the ACC, and the SEC have all said they will play.

Uh the whack the Southland conference which I believe that's where University of North Texas is. Is that correct Alex? >> I believe so. Yes. >> And the Big Sky, Don, that's your section of the country. Uh they have all cancelled their fall seasons. >> Three of the big the power five conferences are fighting this pretty hard. Um and one of them is my conference. I am an SEC guy. I'm a Florida Gator fan through and through. Have been since I was 10. I don't know if I agree with this. Well, you you have another level of this coming in as there is now a petition to have the Big 10 reinstate this year's football season that is gaining traction from those not involved in making decisions, but still.

>> And there's also somebody from a state that you don't like to recognize who has 15,000 uh signatures on a petition alone. >> No, it's 115,000. >> Oh, it's 15,000 when I saw it yesterday. >> It's 115,000 as of 3:30 today. Craig for the just to catch Craig up. Alex does not like Ohio in any way, shape, or form. So >> because I've been to Ohio and it's a trash can. >> I I enjoyed my time in Columbus. >> Okay. Okay. >> Ohio sucks. Are >> you guys wanting to know the conference? >> Yes, please. >> Yeah.

>> Oh, they're in the conference USA. >> Conference USA is not a thing anymore. >> No, it is. >> That's what Yeah, it is. >> Yes, it is. That's what FAU is in. >> Yeah, >> I re being said right now. I'm getting confused. And current members are Alabama, Birmingham, Florida Atlantic, uh Florida International, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion, all them. They're part of the the uh thing. >> General, >> and my question on all of this, yes, football is important. Football has value.

What about the players who are on scholarship for any of the sports? What happens to them if the sport doesn't happen? Does their education have to get put on hold? There are contingency plans by most of the universities to keep the scholarships intact. Um, a lot of the staffs of these universities are even kicking in money to make sure that the scholarship money is there. It's a valid question. Um, now in some cases like Stanford who absolutely nixed a bunch of sports, they are still honoring the scholarships of currently scholarshiped athletes, but they can't bring anybody new in.

So, and the the Stanford thing really kind of caught me off guard because a lot of the sports that they're nixing are kind of their breadandbut sports because they're not a powerhouse in football. They've got a couple of some guys that have come out of there. Isn't it Stanford that cut like lacrosse and rowing and all that? Didn't we talk about a few weeks ago? >> Well, no. I was reacting to you saying that they weren't a powerhouse in football. They've been part of the class act of the Pack 12 recently for what that's worth.

Uh >> again, the Pack 12. >> That's also true. If I take I would I did see that the NCAA said that they cannot they're not allow allowed to uh the schools are not allowed to pull the scholarships if they don't want to play. The NCA said so I mean if they don't play and they want to stay home because of the COVID they cannot take the scholarship away at any way shape or form for not playing >> and they don't lose any eligibility either. Right. >> Yeah. Exactly. And that's but that's where it gets sticky though because and we talked about this earlier with when when March Madness got cancelled.

>> The NCAA is going to have to make a decision as it pertains to the number of scholarships a college is allowed to have in a sport because if it doesn't violate their eligibility. So if I'm a senior, I can play another year, but that should not affect my recruiting for a freshman class coming in from the numbers standpoint. That's where it's going to get sticky because they have to be able to say, "Yes, this doesn't count against the number of scholarships you're allowed to have because then you want to have the incoming freshmen, especially in basketball where one and done's a thing." >> Well, couldn't they just wave the like you have so many seniors that would have left?

The ones that you currently have, we will honor their so you know, you can keep another year and then you can just keep recruiting. >> No, I agree. But they just they haven't said it yet. Well, that's because they haven't had to do it yet. And everybody waits the last damn second. Uh, pardon my French. I know this is a a clean podcast. >> It is a family show, but you're okay with that one. >> Yeah. Well, that one's I know that one's You can use that one because that one I saw that one on a kid show.

Anyways, um >> George Carlin thinks it's light. >> Yeah, >> they were talking about waterways. It was fun. >> I think that they're just waiting until it's a it's an issue and that won't be until the fall till much later. When's um >> college basketball generally fires up the first week of November. >> Yeah. So, they're going to probably not say anything until October. >> So, we're we're in striking distance, but we're not in panic mode yet. >> Well, talk for yourself. >> All right. Well, I'm talking about for them.

>> Okay. And my thing is with these conferences like the Big 12 in the SEC, you're going to play, but they're not allowed to have a championship or anything. Even if they're allowed to do a playoff system, it's like we're the champions even though half the teams didn't play. Whoopee. Yeehaw. And >> I got a question for you. Does UCF have a national championship? >> They don't. They don't. They're not. >> Depends who you ask. >> Yeah. >> Um, >> and also it's not about it's not necessarily about the actual the championship games for the players.

The players still want to show that they're in great shape and they can do something. And the only way they can do that besides the combine, which is >> rigged, >> some players, >> if you go to if you go to the great movie All the President's Men, the answer to all of your questions is money. >> Oh, sure. >> It's that simple. And I, as much as I hate to say I I I giggled at something Davos Sweeney said this week, he said without saying with the Pack 12 and the Big 10 bailing, he was kind of like, grand scheme of things, playoff systems should probably look at which conferences are pretty much in it every year.

I was like, he's not wrong. But all right, let's get into some TV talk. We start uh with AMC with two huge announcements this week for fans of the Crown. Jenn, are you a Crown a fan of the Crown? >> Are you watching The Crown? I thought you were one of those. >> No, I'm I'm not. I think that was I think it's Rachel Wimberly that was doing that. >> Friend of the show, Rachel Rainbow, who we love. Uh and and Craig met her at Fagville as well. >> Wonderful lady. >> Uh they've announced two huge casting announcements for their final two seasons.

Prince Phillip will be played by one of my favorite actors in the history of ever. Are you guys still with me? >> Yep. Yeah, we had a bit of a power coming in. >> We have a power blank here at the house. Um, Jonathan Price is going to play Prince Phillip. >> Good casting. >> Good. >> The original auctioneer from Miss Saigon. Thank you very much. And >> I like this one better. Go ahead. >> Princess Diana will be played by Elizabeth Dicki. And if you don't remember who she is, I want you to go back to Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.

She was the lady that was all painted in gold. >> Yeah. And she looks just like Lady D. But >> if you want a a better one on that, I believe she was also in uh uh the man from Uncle that Guy Richie did. >> No, >> that wasn't her. >> No, that was um Vicander. >> Oh, Alicia. >> No, no, no, no. Not not as part of the group, but as Yeah, she's the wealthy >> You're right. That's right. >> antagonist. >> Uh and in that she was actually dressed similar to the way Princess Dye would be as well. So, I was thinking that had more of a parallel.

>> You're right. We just did it recently on the show. That's why I only looked this stupid. >> You know, I have not seen it. That's one that Alex keeps poking at me about and I haven't seen the man from Uncle Buckle down and see that one. >> Um Disney Plus actually before I get to that, let's do the CW. Uh for those of you that watch Taskmaster ratings were terrible, they're moving it to CWC. >> I've never heard of it, so that makes sense. >> It's a British game show that they've they've imported.

>> Yep. That's why it's going to the seed because I don't know what you're talking about. >> Disney Plus. Alex, did you see the big Disney Plus announcement this week? >> Uh, is this in re involving the word or involving the word premiere? >> It could. Well, I believe the exact word they used was premiere title. >> No. >> Oh, that last week. We talked about that last week. >> Right. So, I want you to get out your calendar. Now, Jen Ro's got her calendar sitting right behind her. I want you to circle November 17th on your calendar.

>> Mhm. Because on November 17th, Disney Plus is going to unleash on the world. >> I know what this is. >> Yeah, I know Craig knows. >> I know what this is. Um, don't worry, we cover it for you. >> Well, I want to go back over a little bit later so I have it recorded. Go ahead. >> Because people that listen to it on the archive, I want them to get the information, too. Craig. >> Oh, fine. We talked about Legos, too. So, we >> Okay. So, we've got Legos Star Wars Holiday Special covered. >> Uhhuh. >> For those of you that missed it on the recording, that is what Disney will be unleashing in November.

Uh, for those of you that uh are don't know what's going on, it's very, very windy here. Uh, we're not getting any rain just yet, but there are definitely a lot there's a lot of wind outside. It knocked out my internet and my power for a minute. It took me a while to get my internet back. I was worried it had gotten to the hub, but I think we're okay for at least a little while. I don't know how much of the recording we're going to have and how much we're not. So, we're just going to go ahead and press forward at this point and talk about G4.

Olivia Mun has said she will return to the new G4 when it debuts next year, although there are rumors that it may be a Spectrum exclusive. So, we're going to have to keep an eye on that. Well, that's one out of our three asks for people. So, yeah, at least there's there. >> Uh HBO Max is going to be taking season two from Comedy Central of Southside and the other two. So, if you're watching either of those shows and you have a Roku or an Amazon, >> you need to do >> All right, we are recording again.

Again, guys, I apologize. Um hopefully that you were on with us live. The first 45 minutes of the show completely lost on Zoom. Uh it is not Vocal's fault. I want to make sure we understand that this is completely on the technology end. Uh we've been having some severe weather up on the north side when I just I was just telling the guys that I went and looked out my side window thinking it was raining and the rain that I was hearing was actually wind. That is how bad it is up here right now. So if we lose power again, I apologize ahead of time.

Uh I will be buying a battery backup for my Wi-Fi router very very soon. I I >> So, it's just your Wi-Fi that's going out or is it the whole building? >> No, we lost No, it's We It's at the house. We lost the We lost power completely twice and because I don't have a battery backup, which AT&T usually gives us, they just stop doing it, I guess. God bless AT&T. Um, so we don't have a battery backup. So, when it blinked, the router had to reboot. I was worried that we'd lost the internet completely because it was going from green to red to green to red, which it never does.

But we are back up and running. Thank you guys for taking care of business while I was out of pocket. Uh >> it was like you weren't even here, >> which is the story of my life. All right, so uh let me see where we're at. We talked about HBO Max, so we're good there. Uh FX has pushed season 4 of Fargo back to late September. I really like the commercials I'm seeing. The the ad campaign they're doing for this is actually pretty cool. And you know, I'm on board with it when Chris Rock's doing just about anything.

So, um, Peacock is getting a McGruber series. Oh, dear God. Get ready, baby. >> Well, I'm going to sign up right now then. That's the whole reason. It's It's the Mandalorian of the Peacock. >> Well, but here's the thing. Like, Alex and I went on a cruise earlier this year, the the Chris Jericho wrestling cruise, >> and they have two channels on the TV on the boat that had movies, and for some reason, McGruber was like in heavy rotation. It was like Avengers Endgame, McGruber, and then by the light.

>> There's an easy answer why Mcruber was in that rotation. >> Jericho. >> Oh, that's right. Joe and all those guys were in it. That's right. >> They are also looking to reboot Clueless as a series, but focused on the Dion character. >> Interesting. >> So, General, do you have me okay over there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I just wasn't sure. I saw you move, but I couldn't hear you. I want to make sure I could hear you better. >> I just was facial on the clueless. >> I'm going to say I still like McGrer. That's one of my >> Oh, no.

Mcrver is great. I just don't know if I love the series. >> Seth McFarland for NBC is going to be taking the books The Winds of War and War and Remembrance, combining them together and doing it as a limited series with calling it the Winds of War. And I was like, >> the winds of remembrance, >> but I feel like this is worlds colliding. a little bit. >> So, >> yeah, it's one of those where it's like, how are you supposed to take this based on who your mind behind it is? >> I feel like he should have just put his name at the end of it just to mess with everybody.

>> Yeah, but he did a great job with uh Neil Degrasse Tyson's Cosmos. And >> that was so good. I didn't realize he was involved in that. That was really good. >> If it wasn't for Seth McFar Mc McFarland, you wouldn't have gotten that at all. And so, uh, when it comes to producing, I think >> if it was on Fox and it was good, Seth McFarland is somewhere in that credit. >> That's fair. Uh, Nat Gio announced this week that September 25th, Josh Gad will be hosting a new series for them called The Magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom.

So, it's kind of like what we talked about last week with Dwayne doing a series for Disney Plus with the backgrounds on a lot of their more popular attractions. Josh Gat is going to be doing with Animal Kingdom specifically. I'm not a dad. >> I know you are not, my friend. Really? No. >> I call him a what do we call him? A drama drama club legend because he's the guy that >> drama. If he can make it, I can make it because you can make it. >> Yeah, that's fair. Uh Netflix has picked up a new uh series or not a new but a newish series that an RL Stein that's not Goosebumps >> apparently that wasn't Goosebumps.

>> He had what? >> I don't know of one that was RL Stein that wasn't Goosebumps. >> He had another anthology series that was called Fear Street that Netflix >> that Netflix has picked up as a ser doing a film trilogy. >> It's for slightly older kids. So, >> I I remember that one. That one gave me PTSD when they one of the first ones I read about uh a woman tearing a man's hand in half because she was obsessed with it. >> I enjoyed both of those films. I'm not afraid to say it. >> The Goosebumps. >> Yeah, I enjoy them.

>> Uh and Nickelodeon. >> How brave. >> Okay, so Space Goes Coast to Coast, which I loved on Network. >> Brack. I love Brack. >> Brack with the I have the CD of Brack presents the Brack show speaking featuring >> I have a homemade CD of just all it was I made it in 200 one I think and it's just all sound clips of Brack on and I would and I would just play it because I just downloaded off the internet and it was it it filled the whole CD. >> Well, and the opening theme that Devin Pike uses for Universal Remote every Monday night at 10 Eastern is What Day Is It?

What day is I like? Oh, oh, round on the edge, high in the middle. Oh, Ohio. >> Don't mean that to Alex will his head will explode. >> No, he gets a pass. He >> Dallas Paige is on that. >> Oh, I hope >> I hope Don does not get the pass. >> And but Nickelodeon is going to be taking Patrick from Spongebob and giving him a late night talk show in the vein of the Larry Sanders show. So, let that settle in. >> That's amazing. >> I don't know how I feel about this. >> I uh I got to meet him in Houston at Comic Plus.

We had uh we all went out for barbecue afterwards. Um he's a great guy. He deserves it. Bill um Bumgartner, I think, is his last. >> Oh, is it the guy from Coach? >> Yeah. >> Oh, I love him so much. The only thing I know about Patrick is I saw a shirt once with Patrick on it and it said, "I smell the smelly smell of something that smells smelly." That's all I know. I have not watched a lot of Spongebob. I got to meet a lot of the guys from Spongebob, they're all great people. So, I'm really happy for him because he those voiceover actors, if they're not, you know, actor like big- time celebrities, they they deserve everything thrown at them they can get.

>> No TV on DVD or Blu-ray this week that was worth mentioning. So, let's move on to music. Metallica real fast if I can go on TV talk. Something I wanted to bring up is we were watching The Alienist. We love the first series. They did the second season just recently. They're trying to keep content in and all that stuff with the pandemic and stuff not being filmed. Why did they do two new episodes each Sunday? Why didn't they spread it out to one episode every Sunday? >> It could it could be with the way TNT is scheduling things out.

They may be it may have needed to start earlier and they're trying to play catch-up kind of like NASCAR is doing. That is also a possibility. Or it could be they just want to have a two-hour block. >> They had no content. They had didn't have enough. So >> maybe that in terms of or the NBA playoff starting. I don't know on TNT. So >> that could that could have shortened their season because of the NBA playoffs because they thought there might not be playoffs and now there are so they're having to compensate.

That's very possible too. >> All right. This is one of them like why did they double book? You you need you know content new content. Why not spread it out? Why did you I don't know. That's I'm just leaving it at that. >> All right. Let's get into music talk. Metallica fans, get ready on the 29th. There will be they will be doing a drive-in concert, but bring your checkbook. It is $115 per car load up to six people. However, those tickets are being purchased through ticket master. So, you can estimate probably about 175 bucks a car load.

Up to six people. Now, I wouldn't pay that if you gave me a live ticket at the front row for Metallica. >> Now, here is locally in the DFW area. Here's everyone that's going to be doing it. The Coyote Drive-In in Fort Worth, >> the Galaxy Drive-In in Enis, Texas Motor Speedway will be doing it. They will be showing it at the Star up here in Frisco, and at Town East Mall. One of these kids is doing his own thing. Okay. Um, but it also does give you four downloads of the new SNM 2 that will release that weekend, which is their second concert with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.

I loved the first one. I love the cover for this one. I'm very much looking forward to it, but I'm not going to the drive because I believe there's also Is there a pay-per-view that night? I don't even know. There's like 19 pay-per-views in the next three. >> Isn't that when Bill and Ted comes out that weekend? >> That could be the same weekend. >> Yeah, that's much more important. Uh, last week we talked about the um the young lady from Orange is the New Black that was starring in a biopic about Mahalia Jackson.

That one being done by Robin Roberts. There's now another one, a second biopic being done by Queen Latifah and Jamie Fox based on her biography. Jill Scott will be playing Mahalia Jackson in that one. I am a huge Jill Scott fan. Love her work. She actually did a guest spot a few years. It probably like three years ago because I've stopped watching on uh SVU. I bailed on SVU like three years ago because I just got sick of like how can we screw up Benson's head this week. That's what the last five years of that show has been.

>> So you I might watch Go ahead, Craig. >> I said you went 14 years on SBU and then you just decided you said that's it. There was a line in the sand. >> Mhm. >> You know, I might watch the season premiere because Chris Maloney is coming back because they're doing a spin-off with him. >> So I don't like Chris Maloney. Um, your country music, your country music hall of fame class of 2020 has been announced. Songwriter Dean Dylan, the great Marty Stewart, and tell me how it's now 2020 and we're just now putting Hank Williams Jr.

in the Country Music Hall of Fame. >> That's true. >> Cuz the last time they did, something popped up similar to the Monday Night Football Fiasco. >> That's probably true. >> Maybe he's Maybe he's Here's the thing. Maybe it is political, not necessarily because of his politics. I don't know him. Maybe he's just not liked by enough people in the Sometimes it's not necessarily >> That's probably true, too. >> The man carries a point. >> Yeah. >> What was the money about their lifestyle? >> What was the fiasco on Monday?

>> He took some heat from his political views and that's why you don't get his song on Monday Night Football anymore. Are you >> up until a couple years ago? Yeah. It was gone for three or four years. >> Yeah. And it's just not Monday Night Football with are without are you ready for some football. >> Well, you got Faith coming in. Faith did it. That's that's sad. That's >> Sunday night football, Don. And now >> entirely different story. >> Oh, yeah. >> Leave my Carrie Underwood alone. >> Uh, congratulations, John Legend and Chrissy Tegan announced they're expecting baby number three.

>> Well, it's a What are you gonna do? It's quarantine >> and it's John Legend. He can do whatever he wants and I'm good. I mean, >> Chrissy Tegan. >> Yeah, I know. And Chrissy Tegan does have one of my favorite TV moments in the last few years cuz you know she does lip-sync battle. So in season one, it was the Christmas episode and she told LL, she's like, "I got you a gift." And he's like, "Oh, okay." And he opens it up and it's a skinny tie. And he looks at her and she says the words on national television, "It's a skinny tie from your favorite skinny tie." And I fell off the couch.

I was like, "That just happened." >> Um, Go ahead. Go ahead, Craig. >> Well, you got two really good-looking people trapped in the house for months on end. >> I mean, are you surprised? >> I'm just surprised with her tweeting schedule they had time. >> But I'm not going to answer that. I am not. This is a family show. I am not answering that. >> There's I mean, let's be honest. It's only You only need a couple minutes time out and then >> the blood gang covered part of it. >> Schedule ahead. You know, there's a lot of things you can do with social media.

>> Uh, the Billboard Music Awards have been moved to October 14th and will be live. They won't be pre-taped like they've been in the last few years. I think it's like a Wednesday. >> H. And I'm going to say it. I said this on social media yesterday. I can't say that I'm not feeling that new uh Miley Cyrus song. It's a totapper. >> Oh, see your post read very differently than that. >> No, I said I can't say I'm not here for it. >> I misread it. >> Yeah. Yeah, cuz there's too many double negatives.

>> Exactly. It's like a quadruple negative. >> The only way I can describe it, and I said this in in the comments, if you remember uh Stevie Nick's song Edge of 17, it's got that vibe, but it's discoy, and that shouldn't work, but it does. I although her her haircut in the video freaks me out. Uh, and congratulations to the Gucci man and his wife, Kesha Kior. They're expecting their first child. So, might as well talk to those kids. Music new releases and places you get music new releases this Tuesday.

Uh, Dua Lia, she does some good stuff. She has a new album called Club Future Nostalgia. It's a remix album. Eraser with a brand new album this week called The Neon. >> What year is it? Did we go? >> I know. I'm like, did I wake up in 1987? >> Wow. Eraser. The fact I even know who they are is only because my friend Jason, my high school friend, I've known him for decades, just loves Depes Mode, Eraser, all that stuff. >> They're half they're half of Depes Mode, >> right? >> Uh there's a band called Fruit Bats.

And the only reason I bring them up is because they're releasing this week. They are cover they they're doing an album cover. So covering all songs from one album. They're doing Siamese Dream. And Craig, I wish I had been had a chance to get a hold of you before Castoff last week because I like to refer to Billy Corgan as the Eric Cartman of rock and roll music as you guys were doing South Park Bigger, Longer, Uncut. Um, but they're covering that album, which is probably the the album that put uh Smashing Pumpkins on the map.

Uh, Guided by Voices has a new album called Mirrored Aztec. Old 97s are back this week uh with an album called 12th uh Secret Machines, which is a band that was featured in the film uh Across the Universe. They did a lot of the stuff that Bono did. Uh they have a new album called Awake in the Brain Chamber and the Killers with a new album this week. It's been a while since we heard from them with Imploding the Mirage, which I'm assuming because they're from Vegas that's referring to the hotel. Well, it could mean many different things.

>> Yeah, it's layered like an onion. >> Yeah, because there's a volcano. >> No, it's not. >> There's a Alex, I apologize for blanking out your TV. >> Yeah, >> cuz me calling you is what probably blanked out your TV. >> And thanks for picking up, by the way. >> Oh, I didn't see it until just now because I was busy hosting while you were gone. So, sit on it. >> And I have my ringer off and my face my phone face down. So, I didn't see either. I was just trying to make sure you guys were okay. That was my main thing.

>> We're following the rules of the show, huh? >> The show must go on. There's an entire song about this. That's fair. Um, >> like I said, it was like you were weren't even part of the show or needed or I guess >> which is every week on this show. >> You just hit the record button, right? >> Uh, just a few things from movies this week. Um, so we're getting a remake of a remake of a remake because Zack Efron will be starring in a new version of Three Men in a Baby. >> Okay. >> Uh, you know what? Zack Efron gets a pass for me at this point.

>> Greatest showman. >> Did you have this reaction when they said that uh Lady Gaga is doing A Star is Born? A movie that's been done 15 years. >> Oh, please don't start that, Craig. No talking about this. We are talking about this. >> That movie >> can can that if I had the ability, I would burn EVERY COPY OF THAT MOVIE THAT exists because Bradley Cooper, who is an amazing actor and I have been a fan of since Alias, spent two hours >> spent two and a half hours doing his best Chris Kristofferson impersonation and that >> million impression.

What are you talking about? >> No, he was doing Christopherson. Well, he was >> and Sam Elliot is better than that. >> I thought Lady Gaga was great. I thought she was amazing in that film, but that film shouldn't have existed. And I saw it in Dolby Atmas and it was still terrible. >> Except the first couple minutes on that first opening riff with the vaude drums, >> right, >> in Dolby Craig. >> Yeah, good job. >> I didn't know he was so easily triggered. I'm sorry. >> That's why you met Rob is the trigger.

Craig, ask Rob about downloading a WWE app. >> No, no, no. Actually, it's funny you mentioned that. >> Oh, no way. >> Because I was actually just talking to somebody about that yesterday. >> Okay. >> Um, if you remember a few years ago, Don, I know you do because we both had a chance to review it. A movie called Lion. >> Okay. About the kid who had who was had disappeared from his family. >> Is that the film? >> Um, Gareth Edwards, who directed that? Gareth Davis, I'm sorry, who directed that? >> Yeah.

Yeah. >> He has been tapped to uh direct the next Tron film. >> Okay. >> Okay. Cool. Be >> It's still got Jared Leto in it, right? >> Correct. He is still attached. >> Um this week, this past week, there was an auction where Brandon Lee's costume from The Crow went for $25,000. >> That seems morbid at best. >> I Craig and I have actually talked about this recently. I'm looking forward to the day where that becomes an episode of Mata Heroes because when you do that one, you let me know cuz I want in because I love that movie.

>> Uh I will talk to Alan about it. I we'll see how what he thinks about it. >> And we got Man, we had such a good time yesterday. I got to reinforce. >> I know. It was a very long episode. It was about almost two hours. >> It was almost as long as the movie itself. >> Well, almost. Yeah. And uh the power didn't go out, but you did lose your Wi-Fi, so it's still >> story of my life. Uh, and we're getting an anthology film from the people at Bloomhouse >> called Welcome to the Bloomhouse. There will be four stories in this film.

I will not be there. I love Jason Bloomhouse. I love his business model. It did bring us Upgrade, which Jen and Roman and I both absolutely loved when we went to the screening of it. You guys know I don't do horror films. >> Yeah, >> I don't either. >> I will. I refuse to pay someone to try to make me pee on myself. Um, >> I almost want to tell a personal story based on that, but that's going to be an off air conversation based on >> Sean's plans for Halloween. >> That's behind the behind the payw wall.

>> Uh, DVD and Blu-ray new releases this week. I don't know. They should have done this a couple of weeks ago, but they still make them ready. They do. And I I have a whole room full of >> I know Disney's not going to do it anymore. >> Oh, really? >> They're stop they're no longer going to make Blu-rays and DVDs. Come to the dark side, Rob. Come to the dark side. >> Uh, the 4K anniversary edition of Flash Gordon releases this week. >> If you have not seen this presentation, it is a beast. >> Is my Flash Gordon if you can't see it because it's a that's the Ming poster.

>> Mhm. >> But yeah, there and this the 4K restoration looks insane, but it comes with >> So it matches the movie. Yeah, because the movies >> Oh, that's what we did for Ragnarok this year. Had a great time. >> I actually had to do a live commentary. >> You mentioned this. Yes. >> With Sam Jones of Flash Gordon at the Voldemort event that shall not be named. And >> as he's a really lovely guy, but he doesn't quite understand the concept of live director's commentaries because I would start asking him a question.

He'd be like, "Sh, people want to watch the movie." No, NO, THEY DON'T WANT to watch the movie. They want to listen to you talk about the movie. So, I kind of had to balance out the the silence and the questions like, um, you know, he there's a scene in the movie where there's a big huge headstone to Flash Gordon. And I'm like, where I come from, when people hate you, they don't kill you and then build huge monuments to you. Why did they do that? And why how are those khakis the entire movie pressed?

How did you keep them not wrinkled? >> There is an answer to all questions within Flash Gordon. The answer is cocaine. >> Yeah, his answer would always be no matter what. Uh he was very he was very professional to work with. I like him a lot. >> We've had him on this show. >> He's a nice guy. Always like how is working with Max Monto? Very professional. Very nice guy. Yeah, >> but I will I will tell you as bad as that experience may have been from a commentary or from a commentary standpoint. >> Yeah, it was awful.

>> I submit for your approval George Costamos's uh commentary on Cobra. >> Oh, you Rob has been talking about length. >> He literally does playbyplay of the movie. >> Oh, yeah. I've I've heard commentaries like that before. He actually points out two huge continuity errors as the movie goes on and at about the 40inute mark, he just starts talking about his other movies. He starts talking about how they did Leviathan. I'm like, I'M NOT WATCHING Leviathan right now. >> Well, I was still surprised that when we were talking about it that you didn't know the backstory on Tombstone's direction, are you familiar with this?

>> Absolutely. We did Tombstone uh about four maybe three or four months ago and yeah, absolutely. how Kurt Russell basically took over that whole production. >> Um because the guy just wasn't it cutting it. >> That's what he's hired as. >> Yeah. And Kurt Russell sacrificed a lot of his own scenes to do that because that's what a that's what a cool guy Kurt Russell is. >> Well, you heard the story about him talking to Stallone. Correct. >> About Kurt Russell talking to Stallone. >> So, uh apparently it came out in an interview a few years ago where Kurt Russell was like, "Okay, the director got fired." And I I'm blanking on the original director for Tombstone and Kurt Russell was always planning on taking over the directorship and said, "I need a guy who's willing to just do what I tell him to do." And that's where he got the director for was from Stallone saying, "Yeah, I've done this with him on other movies.

He doesn't do anything but what you tell him." >> Mhm. >> And that was that blew my mind. And then Rob telling me he listened to the director's commentary >> on the same movie that Stallone said that he didn't do anything on. >> My mind Here's a prime example. So, the scene where the security guard's talking to the nurse and she sees the killer is dressed as an orderly and she's like, "That's weird. They don't clean this time of night." She comes out from behind the desk and Kasimos goes, "I bet you know what happens to her next, don't you?" Like, that's his commentary.

And he sees the card, he goes, "I like this car. I wish I had one of these cars for my own." That's that's that's an hour and a half of that. That sounds like Schwarzenegger's commentary for uh uh Conan the Barbarian. >> Oh, I want to hear that. >> Oh, I I did. I actually don't do that, man. >> It's available online. I was I actually You sync it up and I was watching it in my headphones on YouTube while I was watching the actual movie. >> Oh, nice. >> And it was uh it was an education. >> Also, this week, a movie called Looks That Kill.

I I've seen the trailer to this. So, this is about a kid that when he was born, he is so beautiful that when people look at him, they die. >> Yes, that I'm going to I'm that I'm surprised that movie came out. It's still in litigation. I've been suing them since I found out about the script. >> So, they that hits Blu-ray this week. >> Well, that's just more royalties for me when I found court hearing. >> Uh the new Jim Gaffigans called Quality Time. That will be available this week for you as well.

>> Wait a minute. Is that a movie? >> It's his new special. >> He just came out with the Pale Tourist on Amazon Prime like two weeks ago. So, he's got >> He's got another one called Quality Time. >> Oh, that comes >> and there's two new Criterion Collection releases this week. The Comfort of Strangers and Town Bloody Hall this week. >> So, I'm still waiting to find Movie Trading Company with a used copy of the Bruce Lee set. And I have not yet cuz I can't pay $90. >> I I still maintain that's not going to be one you're going to find.

I can't justify it to my wife yet. So, uh, I do want to make sure that we get on WAX because that way people that watch this on the archive, we get to talk about the main reason that Craig's here besides the fact that he's a wonderful guest and we will have him anytime he wants to be on. Craig hosts, as you see in the background of his on his TV, a show called Mata Heroes, where every week they talk about a movie. Uh, I've now guested on that show three times and had an absolute blast. every time has been better than the one before it.

Uh, and the new one will go up. You said a couple more weeks because next week next week is the one for your birthday. >> Yeah, August 29th is new because we've got next week we got Red October. Um, that's my because Allan and I share August birthdays. So, we did uh Angels of Dirty Faces two weeks ago for him and we talk about how that was a we accidentally got pirated copies because there's there's no way you can get actual copies that it's a movie is 100 years old. Um and then uh I picked Red October because this is the one we get out of our format when we can just pick any movie we want throughout whatever it doesn't we usually talk about heroic cinema.

So, we usually focus on either anti-heroes or heroes and things we can learn from it. when it's our birthdays, we just go whatever any movie we want. And then Unforgiven will come out on the 29th of August. >> And when I was listening to Escape from New York today, because you always play the trailer for the next movie at the end of each episode. Yeah. >> And just listening to the trailer for Red October, like that's one of those trailers that I can listen to and I don't don't necessarily need the visual.

That's how good that trailer is. >> It's the music. It's the It's the choir. >> So, I'm looking forward to that in next week's episode. But coming up, you said earlier on your birthday, two weeks from tonight. No, a week from tonight. >> A week. Yeah, we're down. >> My August is going to throw off part of Matinea Heroes, uh, they do a recasting. And Craig, if you want to talk about the what you do with the recasting and then we'll get to cast off from there. >> Well, so we talk about the movie. Um, then we recast the movie using Doctor Who rules.

And that means you can pick any actor through space and time. So the example I gave earlier uh before you were electrified and zapped out of existence was if you wanted and it fits the actual movie. If you wanted Jimmy Stewart to be opposite Vin Diesel if it makes sense that's who you would choose. So it doesn't have to be >> Yeah. Yeah. It's all about family except Except Except if it's important and then it's not about family. Um so you can you can pick and choose who you want. And what I was going to originally do this for because I do a lot of comic cons is I was going to take that segment which we do every episode and we're atund as of yesterday 188 episodes.

So we've done it a minimum of 188 times but we do it every week. Take the recasting segment out and make it a game show. And I was going to do this live in front of an audience. It was all set up to be at Comic Palooa Salt Lake. Uh the we were going to do it at Weeden Con. We had it all kinds of places we were going to do it, >> but everything disappeared. >> The world I'm sitting here in COVID going, "Well, what can I do? What can I do?" And I don't do this a lot, this video stuff. Um I do now because I've got the I I don't have the right equipment, but I got the right I need a better laptop.

But I said, "Let's try to do the show so I can practice it and see if it actually works." And thus, Castoff was was born. and we cast individual actors. So, it's not who has the best who has the best cast. It's really who has the best actor for that part and then we tally it up and whoever has got the most actors wins. >> And so, you had you had eight episodes originally. >> Yep. We did an eightweek season and then I had to ask everybody, all the winners, I said, "Do you guys want to do a playoff?" And of course, uh they're all a a type personalities that have to compete against each other.

So they're all said yes, yes, yes. And so we then did the Elite 8 and we've done the last three weeks. We last Yeah. the last >> So my my qualifying game was I did uh MadMax Fury Road. >> Yes. >> Which gave me the opportunity to watch that film and like I said on that episode, by the time it was over, my home theater system needed a cigarette. >> I can't believe you hadn't seen it before. That's the sad. >> It was one of those that was on my list and now then to finally have the motivation. I still I'm trying to get a hold of the Chrome version.

It's hard to find, but >> just uh turn the color off on your TV. >> There you go. And so then um I was the first, it was a random pick for seating. I was the first one picked. I got to go up against the great Patrick Batty, a great guy out of Utah. Make sure you check out his podcast, Patrick Batty Reviews. >> And uh he has made it to the finals. >> Yes, he beat me in the first round. Uh now, >> while you were gone, I took him to task for busting my bracket in round one. >> Yes. And Alex actually did the pics and and I I have I have ruined his pics.

>> Well, it's hard to do those kind of pics because it's it's based on personalities and you and a lot of these people you don't know. So, you don't know how good >> you you don't understand. I went back and watched each one of their episodes that they won to see who I agreed with. >> All right. I >> And to see who I would have chosen to >> Yes. >> Good. I need I need a couple I need about 35 more people so I can get a viewer. >> I subscribe, too. I'm on Twitch and uh and I I I try to figure out which one hits the live feed first on Tuesday nights.

So I had to subscribe on both the YouTube and the Twitch feeds. And so the finals are coming up. It'll be pretty much right after No. So next week we'll be in mid- pay-per-view when this airs. So I'm going to have to watch it on delay. >> Yes. So >> because we have a major to watch next week. Um but it will be Go ahead and just give us the matchup. I don't know if you've given the movie yet. So, what I want you to do is uh on August 18th, >> this is all about content. You keep talking content, content, content.

>> Normally, we go on Tuesday nights, but we're not going to this time. Oh, I mean, we're not going to have a show, a game show that night. We're going to have our pregame show that night. >> Just like this, like the Super Bowl. We're going to have we're going to kind of go over all the episodes that all the playoff games. not going to spend hours analyzing because it's hard it's hard to do that. But we're just going to talk about, you know, maybe there was a mistake, how the casting were and the progression of everybody.

Then we're going to reveal who our uh movie is. So, we're keeping that secret because I want to give them exactly three days. So, normally they have a week, but this time they're going to have three days to cast a very phenomenal movie that's going to be very difficult because it's got some actors in it that have basically made careers on their parts. and it's going to be difficult to replace them. So, it and as I get as I was going through, it's getting harder and harder to get these like major things because when I went to the semi-finals, we went with animated movies.

>> Yeah. That I when you announced I was like, "Oh, they hate you so much." Right. >> Well, well, the old thing is is uh finding a movie and replacing all the characters with Muppets. This one we did the opposite because it's harder. We went the Muppet movie, the original, and replaced all of them with act actually actors. Now, my my math is a little fuzzy here, Craig, but you said you're giving them three days. But if the if the show is next Sunday, you're actually giving them five, though, if we're doing it.

>> No, because they have to turn all because it's production. I have to >> Oh, that's right. They've got to turn their pics into you early. That's >> I got to turn my pics into early because I have to get pictures of them. That's why that's the only reason I do it is not because I want to judge them and because I would do it on the fly if I had to, but I the reason I like doing it on the video and having it ahead of time is I can actually show you. So, if you say I'm Michael Stolberg and people go, "Huh?

who and then I show you a picture of him and he is the guy from the serious man. He is in Stranger. He's the other guy. He was in the Fargo series on TV. You see a picture of him, you go, "Oh, that guy." So, I just have them do that so I can uh get all the pre-production done. >> And so, they each contestant picks a person. Then you have your pick. If they match your pick, they get a bonus point. And then you have two neutral judges >> that he that that he'll send the lists to and they blind pick who they think is better for the role.

The judges I've I've been a judge before. We do not know whose list is whose. >> And also I pick people that you wouldn't even know. So you're a Texas guy. You did one that was all Utah people because you've never you're not buddies with them. You don't know them. So there isn't even a hint of impropriety. >> Yeah. before we even would even know what their tendencies would be. >> Yeah. >> So, if there's a tie, then they have to pick a double feature to go with the featured movie. >> So, we're going to crown a champion in uh >> about 24 hours.

I mean, seven days. >> Six days and 23 hours. >> Well, no, we're going by Pacific time. So, it it's going to be it's eight o'clock your time. >> Okay. So, seven day seven days and then then 31. >> Seven days and 32 minutes. There we go. >> Um, yeah, and it's been a it's been a a what I would call a wild success on the part where people who have participated and who have watched have really enjoyed it and like the concept. Um, not being a uh a marketer, it's not a huge massive success because people need to know about it, but uh it's it has definitely given me a lot more confidence to push this to other conventions so I can do this live easily because I can do most things live in front of an audience no matter what.

Now that I have the game show and I know it actually is fun to watch and it's and it works >> and some great You've had some great personalities involved in this. >> Uh very engaging. I've enjoyed watching every episode. Thoughts on season two? >> We're going to have to re-evaluate all that and see if uh that's going to be possible. Uh who wants to participate? Uh if I can get new people to participate because I see hands. I got you. Uh and you're definitely going to be in the in the mix. It's just that I what I don't want to do is have it become a British game show where you have comedians on.

Have you ever seen shows like that where they you have the same >> Yeah. You have the same 12 people doing all over and over again. And I I really I truly want to make it, you know, open to a lot more people. Um the only person I know who is definitely coming back is going to be whoever wins. >> Yeah. You got a defendant title. I mean, I know that you're going to come back at some point, Rob, because I want you to and always happy. But I can't guarantee that. I can guarantee you that if they want to, the person who wins is definitely coming back, so they have an opportunity to uh defend their their crown.

>> And in your Vegas betting odds, you can bet everything you have on not me winning on Sunday. >> Well, hey, you you won the first you won the uh the lottery pick. >> Sorry, somebody said something about >> I thought I said first I was the first one picked and I was the first one out, so it just kind of worked out for me. You'd be surprised how difficult it is to find a random generator that is visually appealing. >> And that was a great way to do the big wheel of fortune thing. I like that. >> It was difficult.

>> So, make sure you tune in for that. Uh we'll be off the air, so we're cool with it at that point. Next Sunday night at 6:00 Pacific, uh 9:00 Eastern, >> and it is recorded for posterity. It's on twitch.tv/madheroes. You can go check it out on YouTube by subscribing now. Go to mattahherooes.com. And there's a button because we don't have the custom URL yet. So that would be difficult for you to do. And uh like Jen and Rob are personal friends of mine. I put it on my Facebook feed too. >> And make sure that you subscribe on your favorite podcast app.

That's how I get matte heroes every Saturday morning is it's on it's in my phone and I get so that way if I'm in the car I can listen which I did a lot of that today listening to today's episode for Escape from New York. And all of their episodes are out there. There's some great movies that these guys and sometimes you'll be like, "Oh, I forgot about that film and it's a lot of especially since Craig's going to give you what the next movie is going to be. You have a whole week to go watch that movie so you can be part of the conversation as well." Uh, stick around a little bit longer, Craig.

We're going to do some tech talk. >> Still no before we general. >> Um, I I fully admit I've been looking at the shirt options on matnes.com with the vanity shirts. love what you've done with that. >> Uh that is Joel Micah Harris. Now if you've ever seen his work online and it's out there uh they're manatees as superheroes. When we first started like two weeks before we even launched we were telling everybody we're doing matinea heroes mata heroes and somebody posted manatee heroes on our website and instead of just being we went screw you we're going with it.

>> Run with it. >> We have embraced it and >> I have the shirt. I'm I'm buying picked out. I'm just waiting for the availability to pop. >> Yeah. My my favorite one is the um Jaws one we did cuz we were doing we were hosting a Alamo Draft House party event and we threw some out to the audience and that one is it's just a manatee coming up. It's f listening to us on our podcast. And um the Wonder Woman one is absolutely gorgeous. And I do like that I it just seemed like last year was a really weird year for me as far as conventions go because I did a lot of Batman panels at multiple places.

I I mean I interviewing Kevin Conroy doing stuff at Salt Lake. They had me on a bunch of So So we made a uh Batman Joker half manatee. >> That's a really well done one actually. >> They're all well done. I don't want to take any credit. >> Oh, no. But what I'm saying is is I I really that was in that was in my medal round. Uh, I actually settled or not settled, but the the one I like actually best cuz it kind of hits me in the childhood. You haven't even listed as big trouble in Little China. >> We did that exclusively for for Comic Palooa.

>> That might be why I'm having trouble getting it to come up. >> Hey, Craig, I got to ask you since you said you you mentioned Kevin Conroy and when you mentioned Batman, you're in my wheelhouse. Did have you ever gotten him to tell his 911 story? >> I did not. what I did get to talk to him about which he never he doesn't really talk about very much. So, I was at the San Francisco Comic-Con and the the the king of San Francisco is Robin Williams and he was Robin Williams roommate in at Giuliard and he talks about bringing a girl home, Kevin bringing a girl home and Robin Williams so they didn't have like dorms, they rented an apartment and they didn't have rooms.

They had sheets that they hung up and so they had the sheet and on the other side is Robin and he's quiet. They get in and all of a sudden they start hearing voices from next door and it's a Vietnamese family fighting with each other, but it's Robin Williams practicing voices and doing all these weird things and the girls and he it's on the it's on the podcast we did for Mask of the Fantasm. But Kevin Conroy really I mean because it was only a couple years after Robin had passed away and it was kind of a I didn't really want to bring it up but it was San Francisco and so you had to it was him >> Robin Williams and Christopher Ree living together in apartment.

>> Well he does he has a great story about he was in New York and he ended up because there was no work to be done because there was no voiceovers or anything after 911. He ended up working in a local restaurant as a chef because he's apparently an amazing chef. >> Oh, >> and a bunch of first responders came in to eat. And when he found out who they were, he came out and introduced himself and he did Batman bites for each one of them. And I'm like, this is why this guy is Batman. This is why this guy is Batman.

And he told it on Fat Man at one point, but if you ever get a chance to interview him again, have him tell that story cuz he tells it 20 times better than I do. I am just fortunate I got the one time and so yeah I but I I mean I I the thing I've noticed is that um >> usually what happens is they they give me the difficult ones. Not that Kevin Conroy is difficult at all but um >> like I get John Cle who you know he doesn't even need a moderator. Yeah. In fact they told me that they weren't going to need a moderator almost minutes up until he showed up off the cart who comes up gives me a chuck on the arm and says are you ready?

And I'm like okay I guess I'm doing it. And it was one of those things where for a week and a half they were telling me you're probably not going to do it, but you need to be there. So that means you got to prep and be ready >> and you have to also So this one thing either I'm going to cry because I'm not going to do it or I'm going to cry because I am going to do it. And so I have to prepare myself to like cry inside for three seconds and then go on stage. And that's kind of what we did. It was super fun.

Uh, but I I get the difficult ones like Kyra Reed drunk and I get the ones where nobody but every single one has been fantastic. I really enjoy doing them because uh I've been to enough comic cons that some the moderators make the panels. Um, and if you remember the moderator, they've done a the wrong job. It's like umpires. Well, what I'd like to do, we've got a side series called our spotlight series, and I would love to spend >> 60 to 90 minutes just talking about your experiences there at some point >> where we can just talk one-on-one and just talk about that.

And that's we haven't done that side series in a long time and I'd like to bring it back and I would love to be able to do that with you. Maybe have a couple of other moderators that we know do a round table. I think that'd be awesome. >> But that's the great thing is that I get absolutely but I get to record them. I record the panels and then they come up on Matinea Heroes because thanks to you uh I had we were we did the Outsiders with C Thomas Howell because and we did um >> the Twin Peaks >> Twin Peaks Firew Walk with me which is not a movie we'd normally do but you got to throw >> you got that that whole cast pretty much in one place.

You kind of have to >> Yeah. Oh, I mean that's we just find a reason. >> So still no HBO Max deal site for Roku or Amazon Fire Stick. Still nothing. And I've got a Roku in my bedroom and I want to be able to watch HBO Max and I can't. >> That's all we have is Rokus. >> Yeah, I've got an Apple TV in the living room. That's as close as I can get. Uh, for those of you that are fans of Fortnite, something apparently Fortnite is being pulled off of the Google Play Store and the iTunes store. However, they've announced this week for the consoles on November 17th.

We were just talking about Batman. They are collaborating with WB Interactive and DC Comics for what they call the last laugh bundle. This is a $29.99 price point. You're going to get a,000 V-Bucks. I guess those are how you get stuff in the game. Uh you're going to get outfits for the Joker, Poison Ivy, and Midas Rex. You're going to get three back blings for Laugh Riot, which is reactive, Black Bloom, and Midas Crest. You're going to get four new pickaxes for Bad Joke, the Joker's Revenge, Ivy Axe, and the Kingmaker.

and you'll have a pick a card contrail. I have never felt so old in my entire life. Um >> well to fill in a gap right there, Fortnite's getting pulled because uh >> they are being or the makers Epic Games is being accused of violating guidelines. >> Oh, okay. >> So, they're being pulled as a reactionary and then Epic Games is now suing Google and Apple for pulling the games. >> All right. Uh, Amazon has rebranded Twitch Prime as Prime Gaming, >> right? >> So, if you see that change, be aware of it.

>> So, I I better not have to change my URL to prime.tv/mattyheroes because that's going to irritate me. >> But I don't think that's just for for Twitch in general, though. >> Yeah, because I mean Twitch Twitch's main URL is twitch.tv, >> right? >> And if it turns into something prime, I'm gonna be mad. >> Uh DC, holy cow. week, major layoffs, including most of the people at DC Universe and DC Direct. DC Direct has a lot of their collectibles. >> Yeah. And you're going to see DC Universe uh probably disappear.

>> I think it's gone by the end of the year because they're just going to move everything to HBO Max, which I said going into HBO Max. >> Yeah. But that also includes all the original programming they've been doing for DC Universe is going to get absorbed. And >> they announced that yesterday. >> Yeah. Yeah, but also and I feel bad for the like the people who do the DC Universe shows, not the not the actual shows, but the like the little content shows that they do, >> right? >> Like like we would be doing, they're all gone.

I mean, like like Sam Lavine's got one that's he'll be puff gone and all those folks. It's it is not fun. >> Not a fun time for DC right now. >> Apple is looking to do a new bundle. It's going to be it's going to include Apple TV, Apple Arcade, extra iCloud storage, and Apple Music. It's coming in October. It's going to be called Apple 1, which is weird because that's also the name of a staffing company. So, they're going to have to figure that one out. There also rumors that it could include a new virtual fitness service that they're getting ready to roll out.

Probably just in time for the iPhone. What are we up to? 12 >> 11 >> 11. So, we're past that in the new iOS as well. Um, this last story we're going to talk about tonight, and I saved this one for last because it is probably my favorite tech story of the week, and it angers me at the same time. If you are a resident of Bend, Oregon, you have a very special opportunity coming up tomorrow. And it was Alex that told me that this was only for locals, so he gets the credit here. >> I wish it wasn't. >> I know.

tomorrow morning at 100 p.m. Pacific time. And Craig, if you know somebody who lives in Bend, Oregon. >> Uh, I've been there. There's nobody there. >> Okay. They have the last standing Blockbuster video. >> Okay. >> For 3 days next month, it will be available as an Airbnb. They have set up a living room with a pullout couch, a 43 TV, VCR, fully stocked. You can rent any movie in there for $4 to watch on this TV. Full concessions. Apparently, they say there's a ghost that haunts there that you can find.

>> Maybe that's just the movie Ghost. could be $4 a night, but it's only going to be September 18th $6 if you pay late. >> Yeah, if you don't pay up front is an extra $2. No, September 18th, 19th, and 20th. It goes on sale tomorrow at 100 p.m. Pacific. And it's not just Bend, Oregon. It's everybody in that zip code that is eligible for it. But there's nobody there. No, they they said it was by zip code, I believe. >> Yeah, because area code can be I mean I have a Texas area code. I still have a Houston phone and I live in SoCal.

So, but yeah, I've been to Bend. It's a beautiful place. It's kind of quiet in the mountains. So, I mean, I've also been to Blockbusters and I can't imagine. Now, is it going to be open where people can walk in? >> No, it's only for the people that buy the Airbnb. >> No, no, I understand the Airbnb section. And then is the actual blockbuster still going to be operational? >> It's the whole thing. They've got to run the entire building. >> Now, have any of you rented an Airbnb before? >> I have not.

I I I can't bring myself to it. It's too It's too weird for me. >> I have. Jen, what what did you do? >> Um, it was a group of us >> and it was just a one night thing. I also have some friends that run a couple of houses in Grapevine that are Airbnb. So, we rented an Airbnb to go to Jazzfest in New Orleans. >> Oh, dear. >> And and there was about eight of us. Um, and it was family. It was all family. It was my wife's family. And >> say it in a Vin Diesel voice. >> I don't. >> He was family. I don't I can't do Vin Diesel.

He doesn't have anything distinctive about him. He's just a He's kind of like if you were going to start a human being and then halfway through you just kind of >> so much with three words. I rock. >> Yeah. Well, we got there and the the the place was nice. It was cleanish, but all of the cabinets were locked and full of all the dishes, but not like stacked up like almost like if you would open it, it would just pour out dishes. >> Oh dear. >> It's just weird because you're renting other people's spots that they live in.

I we had an Airbnb. We I mean our we moved from Houston to California, our apartment con our condo turned into a Airbnb and people just destroyed it. So, I can only imagine what the uh the Blockbuster people are going to do. >> I've seen far too many horror movies to even in engage in an Airbnb idea. >> I Isn't that what um someone just did a movie? His first uh directing is going to be about being in an Airbnb. >> Oh jeez. >> Um I now you're going to make me look it up. Where's my Where's our guy?

>> But I'll take the Airbnb. >> Fact checker Don. >> Yeah, >> I'll take the Airbnb over the couch surfing. Don Google Airbnb horror movie. >> Okay, hold on. >> Dude, tell me what comes up. >> Okay, one sec. >> I like this concept. I don't know that I like it in execution. >> I just said one of my >> That's the one. >> Oh, yeah. They just Yeah, they just did that at drive-ins, didn't they? >> Yeah. Dave Franco, his whole inspiration was Airbnbs. >> It It's Airbnbs in the model of what Psycho did to motel is what the line here is.

It's called the rental. >> The rental. >> Yeah. Nope. >> I'd rather talk about his wife if I'm being honest. >> Allison Brie, how you doing? Um >> an avid watcher of the program, I'm sure. >> Oh, every week. She knows what a fan of community I am. Uh anything that I'm missing you guys want to talk about before we get out of here? Again, we apologize for the technical difficulties. Thank you guys for carrying the thing while I was dealing with the storm of the day. >> Seamless. It was seamless. >> Well, it's about to hit me, so I may disappear shortly.

But uh we did touch on DC fandom real quick with uh got some good Wonder Woman talk in. Yes, it is. >> Uh I Interestingly enough, I I >> what I was fishing for in that one was I really want to see some stuff on the new Suicide Squad. I really do because I want to see what James Gunn is going to do. >> I just I want to see the Batman stuff, >> which is rumored to also appear. So, we'll see. And I you've told me before that to have faith in Robert Patson and I I'm not there yet. >> Yeah, I I'm all for that.

If as long as they go with the world's greatest detective and not Batman in a suit, I'm going to be super happy because I >> what I read today is he's going farther back in Bruce's life than anybody has before. >> Wait a minute. Gotham. >> Okay, maybe not that far. I try to erase Gotham from my memory because I bailed. I don't I didn't watch any of the final season. I was so done. The It's just so the continuity with because like by the time he becomes Batman, they're all going to be 90. >> And I think this is supposed to be a uh kind of a take on the long Halloween.

>> Oh, I love that story. >> So, I mean, I don't I don't know if that's true. That's a rumor, but that and that can only be part of it because you know how they take pieces from all over the place. But I think that's supposed to be the underlying basis of the movie >> where he is actually a detective looking for things. >> And Craig, I don't know if you saw, but they released the cover for because you know they're doing a Death in the Family in October. >> Yes. >> It's going to be an interactive movie.

>> Yeah. You get to pick who lives and who dies. Is that >> I They haven't said I just saw the cover and I'm like I'm intrigued by this, but don't make me call a 900 number because I'm not doing it. No, no. It's like uh >> Mirror or the the Black Mirror did. >> Oh, yeah. That's what they did. One of those episodes. That's what Craig's talking about. That's That's bad. >> Oh, yeah. I'm not having a seizure. It's called Bander Snatch. >> Yeah. >> Honestly, I think it's probably going to be just two movies where it's like you pick one.

Here's the copy where he lives. Here's the copy where he dies. But they're not going to be inter interrupted. >> Kimmy Schmidt did an interactive movie. The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt had a Netflix uh interactive movie. I haven't seen it yet, but I know that that movie that they came out with last time was interactive. >> It's It's kind of like Clue, but you get to pick which ending you're going to view. >> It's a little bit more involved. >> Yeah, but I mean >> it's more than just the ending, but Yeah.

>> No, I know. But I mean, Clue was the original that had possible different >> Was it Was it the original? >> I hadn't I don't remember. There were three different endings and depending on the theater you went to, you would get a different ending. But they gave you the little clue scorecard when you went in so you could try to keep up. >> And then when it came out on video, it put them all there. All three of the endings were there, >> right? But for the first day or two of the release, nobody knew that different theaters had different endings unless you were part of that community because I remember they pitched it that way.

>> No, >> no, they didn't. I think they pitched it after like three weeks later. >> I would love to have been involved in making the movie just to watch people fight over what the actual ending was. I don't know. Maybe I'm a bad person. >> Yeah. You went and saw it over the weekend and you went back to school and this is elementary school and fights are breaking out that you didn't even see the same movie because it didn't end the same. >> America. >> Tim Curry. >> Yeah. Greatness. >> Oh god. Oh, and by the way, and maybe Craig will will remember this.

Um, I've got a delivery coming tomorrow. I got a hold of a copy of a 1980 Disney movie that's never going to be available on Blu-ray, but I got a copy of the DVD for Midnight Madness. >> Oh, yes. I remember Midnight Madness with Michael J. Fox and >> it used to be on HBO religiously round the clock. >> Remember, Alex, I said that to you earlier today. Yes. I also said I wasn't old enough for it. Shut up. >> Did get I even know the song. Yeah. Midnight Madness is great. >> One copy left on Amazon.

>> It's like a mad mad mad mad world except it's like a game of uh >> college fraternities or something like that. And Michael J. Fox is like the little brother who's not supposed to be there but he is. >> Cuz I I watched Rat Race recently and I kind of went down that rabbit hole. I was like, "What happened to Midnight Madness?" Because it's not on Disney Plus or anything else. I'm like, "You know what? I found one copy. I'm just going to grab it." It was seven bucks. Let's go. >> Yeah. Because it is um it's not a Disney friendly movie.

It's uh it's one of those, you know, sexcoms, whatever they called them back then, >> the Touchdown movies. >> No, no, >> it was still Disney at that point. They hadn't split everything up. >> It's like Animal House meets um Up a Creek meets um you know those. It's like they had just enough TNA to make it not PG. >> Just short of Pors basically. >> Or Porky's. It's Porky's. >> Okay. >> Porky's really doesn't show too much either now if you think about it. But it's kind of like that in that porky's vein >> now that we have the internet.
