Season 11, episode 32. 565 times this face and/or this voice has welcomed you to the Clubhouse podcast right now. Normally we're live at Vocal Now Studios in North Dallas, Texas. But it is pay-per-view weekend and when we have that going on, we want to make sure we still bring you guys content from this show, your one-stop shop for all things sports and pop culture.
My name is Rob. I am the executive producer of the Clubhouse podcast. And uh I don't know what this bright yellow thing in the sky is because we haven't seen it in like a week and we're not going to see it for another week after today. So let's get this thing moving and introduce you around the deis. Below me on my screen is my co-host and a man that knows the clock is ticking to get his yard done today. He is Alex. Hey man. >> Yeah, wheel in the sky is definitely not helping right now. Uh, I needed to stick around a little bit longer, at least long enough to bring it down from jungle to, you know, tropical, but we're going to have a ton of rain and it's going to be all for not in a minute here.
>> And we're going to be, for those of you complaining about the rain, you're going to be begging for this in July and August. I'm just saying. Also with us is the official fact checker of Sooner Gator Productions and a man who looks like he's been doing a lot of work already today. He's a little sweaty down there. You may know him as Igg Boonu, but his mama named him Don Ford. I'm going to call him Don Ford. Hey, brother. Hey guys. Well, I did do I got the hedges and all that trimmed. Got all that junk from years of hedges and stuff cleaned out.
It's actually gets the dirt under the hedges now instead of a mulch pile. And but the house is looking good on the outside. And hey, question to Alex. Banana peppers. I got one that's about 3 in long. Do I still keep it going or do I cut it at this time? Uh, three is usually around a larger range for a banana pepper, but you can let it roll as long as you want. Uh, not so sure I'd ever hear somebody bragging about three inches, but it should work. >> Let's let's keep on HGTV talk now. But but this brings up a serious question that I have since Don has asked that question.
The longer you let the pepper grow, does it get hotter or is there a ceiling for that? Well, it's not actually the pepper itself that tends to have the Scoville factor, which is what the heat index is. It tends to be more of the seeds and the internal. So, as it gets larger, depending on the pepper, you could wind up with more seed and more uh root inside that would provide more of that heat, whereas the pepper itself would just be getting larger and just be more material. >> All right, there you go.
>> And then that acid stuff coming in, the acid partially has part has to deal with the hotness also. said acid. I almost said a Matt Riddle impersonation, but you know, >> let us get into it. We want to talk about one of the biggest stories of the week because today is the PRNness, >> which Alex and I were talking earlier this week. I was like, wait a minute, is it already time for the >> Pakness? You know, just two weeks ago was the Derby where Alex and I were having dinner together watching the derby and now it's time for the PNness.
M is it Medina? Madina, let's call the whole thing off. I believe it's uh Madina Spirit. >> Madina Spirit. >> It's named after the city that does the uh long eye. >> Ah, fair enough. Okay. Madina Spirit tests positive for performance-enhancing something or other depending on who you ask. Last night was cleared to run in the Pakness today. >> Three separate drug tests that it passed this week alone. >> And again, Matt Riddle. Uh, but my question and I know this is not a really long answer because Alex and I talked about this earlier the week and I think Don would be intrigued by this too.
Alex being our resident expert in the world of gambling. >> It's okay. You can say degenerate. >> No, you're not a degenerate. You just you just know gambling better than we do. >> He's our expert in the field. >> So >> that is well put, Don. >> Thank you. Is that the first time that sentence has ever been said in the history of this show? >> I don't believe it is, but it was the first time it was meant without being sarcastic. >> That's a good Okay, go ahead. >> So, the question is, Alex, with Madina Spirit, technically, does that disqualify that horse from the Kentucky Derby?
What does it do for the standings in the Kentucky Derby? What does it do for the people who bet on that horse, much less the horse that came in second? How does that whole thing work? Because money. >> Yeah. Well, let me let me start first for the Derby. Uh, if the horse is disqualified, it becomes a last place from the historical standpoint. So, it would no longer be a Kentucky Derby winner. It wouldn't place or show or finish anywhere. It would be a DQ. Uh, that has zero effect on the betting. Now, one of the reasons that you have with this is some tracks, uh, those that like to go out of business will say by end of race day if there's any changes.
Now, the reason that they want to go out of business is because there is no way to go back and take money away from somebody who's already been paid out. But those with tickets that would change the outcome that have not been prior cashed would have the ability to go back almost universally. Now the the fine print on horse racing slips or tickets depending on what the terminology for that area is is once the race becomes official and the official results always take about 3 to 5 minutes afterwards in a large race.
That's where they're making sure of which horse finishes when and getting the official times that becomes locked in stone even with a disqualification because when you think about it that money's gone the moment it's paid out. there's no way that they could do anything with it. And you get the, let's just say, spiteful winner who's told they have to give, you know, $100 back. That person's going to walk 5t over and buy a round of drinks for everybody and be like, there is no $100 just to be the way they are.
So, the way that the betting works is strictly off of when the official results are called and it is finalized at that point, even if there is a disqualification later. So, whatever the official results are within the I I think the most uh time on a Kentucky Derby I saw was 15 minutes to make an official post. >> Uh, and I believe that was actually last year when there was a lot of interference, it might have been two years ago. Uh, but once the official results are locked in, that is what the betting works off of.
So, it is finite at that point. Even >> kind of an all sales are final kind of a deal. >> Precisely. I if I if I could add I did hear on this that if you had the winner, you get the money and they can't make you get it back. The only big issue is the people who if this horse is disqualified, the horse that came in second would now be considered the winner. Those people who had that horse as the winner and in the end technically is the winner. They have a beef to say, "Hey, my horse won. My horse is now the winner." >> It depends on the track rules.
>> Yeah. almost almost all tracks would say no. >> Uh but there are select ones, smaller tracks that try to advertise to people like hey if you're horse gets screwed over in the end you can still collect. So hold on until there's official results but almost universally and when I say almost universally I mean like there may be a handful of tracks in the country that still go end of race day. 99.9% repeating are still what the official results are. So, even if they had second place, they wouldn't be able to go back unless the track rules state differently.
>> All right, let us get into Major League Baseball. We are a month and a half into the season. Let's go to the standings in the American League East. Baltimore is in the se the in the cellar right now. They are 16 and 22. They're seven games out. They're four games behind the Rays. The Rays are a half game back on the Blue Jays. Blue Jays a half game back on the Yankees. Yankees now two back on Boston in the AL Central. Minnesota. They've uh 12 and 24. So they're doing well. And in a weird twist of fate, the team they're behind has a worse run differential than they do.
Well, they're tied, but they but this other team breaks the tie being the Detroit Tigers. They are 10 and a half games out of first place. They're both four games behind the Royals. The Royals are five back on Cleveland. Cleveland now a game and a half back on the White Socks, who apparently are just tearing things to pieces right now in the AL West. And I get to do it because I have my button this week. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles County, California, North America, Earth, Milky Way, Universe, Multiverse.
They are five games back of 500. They are six and a half out of first place. They are a half game back on the Rangers who are a game and a half back on Seattle. Seattle three back on Houston. Houston and that team a game back game and a half back on the Oakland A's. In the NL West, the Colorado Rockies, they are nine games below 500, but they are eight and a half back. They're two back on Arizona. Arizona four and a half back on the Dodgers. The Dodgers are a half game back on San Diego. San Diego a game and a half back on the Giants.
Well, thank you. Other computer in the NL Central, Don, what's going on with your Pittsburgh Pirates? Six games below 500, six and a half back in the division. >> Yeah, they're not doing I don't know. >> Six games below 500 for the Pirates at this point is actually an improvement. >> No, it's not because usually they do good before the Allstar break and then they go to the gutter after that. In the beginning of the season, usually they're up there, but then after all, usually historically they go to the gutter.
>> They're on a oneame win streak. I know they won yesterday. They were down one nothing. My stepmom says, "Hey, I surprised you they actually won this thing." No. >> Uh, remind me for your crazy stat of the day after we play America's favorite game show. They are two back on the Reds. The Reds are a half game back on the Cubs. The Cubs one back on Milawake and Milawake is three back on the division leading St. Louis Cardinals. And in the only division that matters, the NL East. Both of my teams are not in last place right now, which is good because the Washington Capitals exist.
That's not the Capitals, >> Nationals, >> the Netals. They kind of sound alike. Completely different sports. They are, but they're tied with the Marlins at four games back in out of first place. This is the tightest division right now in baseball. They're a game back on my beloved Braves. The Braves are two and a half back on Philly. And Alex, your New York Mets currently have a halfame lead in the division and a positive run differential >> for now. >> I mean, sure, it's three, but it's positive.
>> Well, did and I will say after we played uh America's favorite game show last week, I did go to the standings because I was curious based just on that ridiculous number, but I did notice a peculiar factoid about the NL East last week. >> What's that? Oh, yeah. The >> the Marlins were in last place. for the NL East and we're the only team with a positive run differential >> because baseball. >> Exactly. >> Are we ready to play the games? >> Are we are ready for America's favorite game show? >> Well, are we going to touch on what happened with the Yankees this week?
>> Oh, that is correct. Was it six? >> They are up to eight now. >> Eight Yankees have tested positive for COVID 19. >> Uh eight uh team members. That includes coaches. >> Okay. So, >> but there are multiple players. What are they postponing? Are they going to make up the games? Are they forfeits? What are we doing here? >> No. Uh, that's actually one of the smart things that MLB has done. They have a separate injured list for CO 19. If somebody gets put on the CO 19 list, it works as a 10day, but they are separated from the team facility and they are able to bring up other players to continue those games versus putting them off the way they happened last year.
>> Did you go ahead, Don? I was going to say that the u yeah there's only I heard one player of the eight was actual player and most of staff but here's the thing seven of them are asymptomatic which >> wouldn't even known they had the disease until they got tested because they all been vaccinated so I mean it's just one of those things yes they're taking precautions for everybody else and everything but you know that's just not to be political but that's what the the the managers the owners are saying that's how the vaccine is working.
Get it done because eight people have it, seven didn't even know it. The other one had a little sniffles, you know. Let's get this. >> Yeah. Glabber Torres had a prior uh illness that they wound up finding was weakening his immune system and got there. >> Did you see the footage from the Marlins game Thursday night? >> No. >> I don't know what you're referring to. >> So, I can't remember. Who is it that plays first base for the Marlins? >> Agalar. >> Aguilar. So, got a guy on base as he's looking away.
And I didn't know this was a thing in baseball. Apparently in baseball, they're now wearing the wristbands like quarterbacks do in the NFL that have all the signals on it. While the guy's looking away, Aguilar looks up and flips open the lid so he can look in the place. >> That dude was angry. >> So, it it's not actually plays as much as it is. And I I hate this part of the game. Most of what is on there is the shifts or the intended positioning based on specific players. So Agalar was trying to look and see how they were going to play him before his next at bat.
>> I love it. I love it so much because the look is like after. >> Oh, I love >> Oh, well, we need somebody to pick up. We needed somebody to pick up the Adrien Beltree uh torch, didn't we? >> All right. Are we ready for America's favorite game show? >> After last week's number, maybe. >> It is time to play America's favorite game show. What is the run differential for the Detroit Tigers? Alex, I I still can't get over the number from last week, so I'm gonna say minus 72. >> All right, Don, >> you're going to hate me.
Minus 73. I think I shot up. >> I say I say to both of you. >> Why is my button not working? >> I don't know. But you you >> We didn't even hear your >> voice effects haven't worked either. >> Yeah, your little W. We didn't hear that. >> Really? >> It's called an echo >> cuz I could hear it. Did you guys hear that? >> Nope. >> You know what? I'm wondering if I'm even on the right thing. I'm actually coming through my laptop right now. So, let's fix that. Oops. >> Change it up, guys. Can you still hear me?
>> Yeah, we can hear you. Great radio. >> There's a sound. >> There's the sound. And you're both over. >> Really? >> Oh, really? >> Went from 62. >> I I thought it was like 67 last week. >> We are now 18 minutes into the show and I didn't check my settings before we started. That's amazing. >> Let's hear the law. We got to hear the law. People want to hear >> law. >> There we go. >> There it is. What is the run differential for the Detroit Tigers? >> So, Detroit Tigers, they are 13-2. They have a 342 winning percentage.
They are, as I said earlier, tied with the Twins at 10 and a half back in the division. They are 8-1 at home, 5-4 on the road. They're on a oneame losing streak. They are they are 500 in their last 10 games. Now, before I give you the answer, because you were both over, not by much, but you were both over. Dons's Pittsburgh Pirates have a run differential of minus 43. By the way, was there an audio difference when I changed over to my microphone? >> Little bit. >> Okay. >> Seems a little more muted, but that's okay.
>> Oh, really? >> It seems cleaner, actually. >> So, is that a little bit better? >> Yeah. >> The team that Dons's Pittsburgh Pirates are tra are trailing, do we remember who that was? the Reds by two. >> You are at minus 43. The Reds are even. >> They're at zero. >> Yes, >> they're at the $1 that we always talk about. >> The run differential for the Detroit Tigers as of May 15th at approximately 12:19 in the afternoon central time, they're at minus 66 6 weeks into the season. So you guys didn't >> Well, only went up like four in the last week because of 62 last week.
>> Yep. Or they only though they lost four is what they >> Yeah. I said the only number only went up by. That's not bad. >> So that's the integer. >> Yeah. So what we're saying is is if this is the pattern next week remember 70. Got it. >> Let's talk a little bit of NASCAR right now. your cup standings because they don't race until tomorrow. So if the playoffs started today, your odd people out would be the main the maid guy and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. because Tyler Reick is in 16th place right now. He is 10 points back on Michael McDower.
He is, let me do a little bit of math. He is three points back on the archer Bowman. Bowman is uh let's see six points back on Bucher. Buucher Bucher. Chris Bucher is 29 points back on Austin Dylan, the new sheriff in town. Dylan is four back on Christopher Saved by the Bell, which he is not at this point because he's in 11th place. But he has a lot of work to do because he is 53 points back on Kyle Bouch. Boug is six back on Brad Kesalowski. Kesalowski is three back on Chase Elliot. Attorney Law.
Chase Elliot is three back on Harvick. Harvick is tied with the other attorney at law being Kyle Larson. They are both 20 back on the Stone, Ryan Blay. Blay is only a point back on Lagano. Logano's 22 back on Byron. The Poet is uh 26 points back on Trux, but Trux has a lot of g ground to gain if he's going to catch Denny Hamlin because he is 75 points back on him. Your next race tomorrow is the Dry Dean 400 from Dover International Speedway. That'll be at 2:00 Eastern on FS1. The week after that, May 23rd, we're going to be at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin for the Echo Park, Texas Grand Prix.
I didn't know NASCAR did a Grand Prix. >> I thought that was for Formula 1. >> I I think it's in they're trying to get away from the term road course. >> Or maybe they should just call it park. See what I did there? >> No. >> Echo Park. That's bad. That's the car dealership. Echo Park. >> What? >> Echo Park. That's a new car dealership. You park. Echo. >> Never heard of it. >> Park. Okay. Oh, yeah. It's >> Dear God, can we move on? >> Let's go. >> All righty. Tim Tibo is back in the NFL, kids. >> Did that signing become official?
Because I kept saying or I kept saying that they were tempted to sign him. >> No, it's done. Okay. I didn't know if it was one they were having to wait for June one based on how the contract would be structured. >> It's a one or two-year deal. I can't remember exactly what they said. I'm going to be interested to see how this goes because there's there's a couple of different things that can happen here. One of the biggest criticisms that people are saying is Tibo at 34 is not he he's taking away an opportunity from a younger guy.
First of all, it's Jacksonville. Secondly, this is the thing that I personally, and I think Alex agrees with me as well, this should have been the plan all along to put him at tight end. >> What I've said numerous times for multiple years, Timbo is the greatest football player I've ever seen in my life. He wasn't a quarterback. >> Well, what apparently that's what uh Urban wanted when he was at Florida, but then they started winning and it was like, well, just keep him a quarterback. >> I don't know about that.
that that seems a bit uh >> the story heard yesterday, >> but the way Urban has always run his offenses in college, he needed that dual threat. So, he Tibo was the perfect fit for him because they were never a passing offense. Although, I saw a very fun fact today regarding Urban Meyer's players. 68 seasons in the NFL for Ohio State quarterbacks, zero Pro Bowls. You would think one of them would luck into it, but no, they're all terrible. >> As your hatred for Ohio continues, >> Ohio State above all, my hatred.
>> The other scenario I've been hearing a lot about is we start camp, we realize this may not be exactly what we were hoping for, and they move him into a coaching front office role, which I'm totally okay with. Very few people can motivate like that guy. And to have him Sorry, who is this? >> Tibo. >> Oh, TBO. Yes. I would be totally okay with that. Put him >> Well, he's also always lived in that area, hasn't he? >> They're neighbors. >> No, no, but what I'm saying is Tibo grew up and well, when they weren't on missions, >> correct?
>> Grew up and has always lived in the Jacksonville area. So, it's not exactly a big stretch for him either. >> Absolutely. I I I'm interested to see how this experiment goes because Trevor Lawrence has also said that he is a huge T-Bo fan. So, I think that plays a part in it. I think there's also an element to this of over one bad hire that Urban made a couple of months ago. This might be trying to >> like >> the broom and rug. >> Yeah. >> But I'm I'll be interested to see how this works. >> I don't you know I'm not I I'm not such a super fan of TBO that I'm saying Jacksonville Super Bowl bound, but I think this is good for that team.
It it is definitely the calming presence and I I hate to go here with it, but you think about the bombastic and oftentimes negative personalities that were on those Gators teams and yes, some credit has to go to the coaching staff, but Tim Tibo was the unquestioned leader >> absolutely >> on that team and kept everything together. So, an influence like T-Bo, even though I have never truly been a Tibo fan, but I have appreciated the man, he is a great source because that is going to be a really young team.
>> Mhm. >> And you know that Trevor Lawrence, you know, is going to have struggles. Pton Manning, arguably one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, is still pining for him to start week one so that he has a chance to break his interception record uh as a rookie. But at that same time, rookies will always have trouble in the NFL because of the extreme nature of it. Having somebody like T-Mo TBO to be that calming force is going to be a great influence on both Trevor Lawrence and the rest of the team.
All right, perfect. And in other news that I think Alex will be very interested in, I don't know if you heard this uh happen. I want to say this came down on Thursday, maybe yesterday. As we know recently, AT&T has finally sold off Direct TV. Direct TV has the exclusive rights to what, Alex? >> Sunday Ticket. Have you heard who's now thrown their hat in the ring to buy it? >> To buy Sunday Ticket or Direct TV? >> The Sunday Ticket. >> I have not. >> The Mouse. >> Oh, please, dear God, put the ticket on Disney Plus.
>> Disney wants Sunday Ticket. Make this happen. >> Well, you do realize the easy parallel there. >> Your Sunday Ticket becomes ESPN. >> Mhm. and it becomes ESPN property. Now, there's another level to that. Go ahead. So, that would mean they own the rights to every football game, but at least one each week. >> The only for the next eight years. >> The only thing that gives me pause here is there would need to be a reworking of a certain piece of this. >> Oh, dear God. No. They put it on ESPN Plus.
>> Yep. But the problem is you and I are both streaming people. >> Verizon has the exclusive streaming rights to the NFL, which is why we can't get it on AT&T TV, much less >> the Red Zone. So, I would be really interested to see how this works and where this goes. Yeah, >> I've said for years >> plus or ESPN plus, which one do you think they would do it on? >> It would be ESPN Plus. >> Okay. >> Yeah. With this the struggling numbers they've had with ESPN Plus, this would be probably their biggest boon.
>> And they say if you get ESPN Plus, you get the whole Sunday ticket where you can watch any game you want. Correct. >> I don't know that they would do it that way because of the way their their model with UFC works. Mhm. >> I think the way they would do it is >> if you pay for Sunday Ticket, you'll get ESPN Plus included and it will probably work the same way Direct TV did it where you pay for it year round. >> Well, the other hard part about that is ESPN Plus is extremely or not extremely exclusively streaming, >> right?
That's that's >> So, they'd have to cut a deal with Verizon, >> right? Or is it Verizon or T? It is Verizon. I thought it was T-Mobile, but I think you're I think it is Verizon. Mhm. >> I This is There's going to be some waters that have to be navigated here. >> Well, there's the other layer to this. Did you put in the notes about the Thursday football for the next teen years or at least >> Amazon exclusive? So, your Thursday Night Football will be on Prime Video almost exclusively a year earlier than expected.
It starts next year. It wasn't expected to happen until 2023. However, they now have it starting next year. >> Not uh so nothing on NFL Network. >> NFL Network's going to have the rights to show it, but I think that they're going to be having replays based on the check that got cut by Amazon. >> I feel like NFL Network's getting a lot of things. They're getting their knees cut out from underneath them on a lot of things right now. I think it's the NFL looking to cut costs and they're just going to want to do replay stuff versus trying to do live content because if you don't do live stuff, you don't need to pay for a slew of broadcasters or cameras or anything else.
You only have to worry about what's in your studio. And as terrible as it is to say, MLB Network already set that model. >> Yep. >> Have your internal stuff. Everything else is handled by an external and you pump in the feed. >> I like how they do it personally. >> I do too. But what I'm saying is it's more profitable. >> So, we're gonna see how that goes as we get closer and closer to training camp. >> We are less than three months from life beginning again. >> I want to throw a question over to Don.
>> Don, you're muted. >> Yes. Yes, sir. So, with the schedule release and everything going on, what are you looking forward to most and least for your Steelers? >> I never looked at the schedule. I know it got released yesterday, but I don't don't know. >> Well, you guys talked a little bit. I'll pull up the schedule and we'll go through it. >> Okay. Well, what I was getting at more was from a fandom, Don, is there something you're really looking forward to besides just football being back? Like, are you looking to see how Naji Harris runs?
Is that what you're looking forward to most? Are you looking forward to seeing how the defense comes back, how the team rebounds, or is there anything that you're dreading for this year? >> I I want to see how the running game improves. That's the big thing for me. >> We lucked out. We We got the top running back in the draft. He He There was no running draft drafted before the Steelers pick, which means we got the the best running back. And I think we did. >> And our game was hurting so bad. And then that will if we got a good running game then that will help with the pressure taking off Ben a little bit and you know it might help in the passing game more too.
But >> are you are you concerned with the I'm sorry please >> go ahead. No no no go. >> Are you concerned with the offensive line since one would argue and James Connor is my boy uh that it wasn't the running game's fault as much as that they weren't blocking well. Is there any concern there from a Steeler fan standpoint? How would you rate the line? And we've always had problems with the line. >> Uh, I think it's about to get a lot wor. If you want my honest opinion, I'm just ripping the band-aid off.
>> Yeah, let's be honest. >> I think it's going to get a lot worse for you. I think it's going to get a lot worse for you without uh Villain Noeva and the fact that I believe uh Pouncy retired. I mean, you you look at it, >> the only good to decent starter you have on the line right now is David Dcastro, and he's a right guard. Now, granted, that'll help with, you know, slam rights, but the rest of that line is suspect. >> Yeah, I'm looking at the schedule. >> All right, you guys ready? I'll read it off, Don.
>> Yeah, I'm looking at >> You want with preseason or no? >> Uh, nah, let's go. >> You do get the Hall of Fame game this year. >> Okay. at the Cal with the Cowboys at Tom Stadium. August 5th, week one, September 12th, the early game. You are at Buffalo. >> That's a Buffalo win to me, Don. >> Yeah. I mean, I'm just kind of looking. I'm not going to make any predictions right now. >> All right. Week two, you will be hosting the Raiders, >> Las Vegas. >> Yes, sir. But you'll have them at home. You're not on the road.
>> Yeah, >> that'll be a good game. I I I can't wait to see what Vegas is doing at that point because who knows, they might have Aaron Rogers starting. >> Still at home in week three, the Bengals are coming to town. >> Always have trouble with the Bengals. >> Week four on the road late game at >> what won't be the frozen tundra of Lambo Field. There's exactly one thing that might get some cold. >> Back home for a two-week stint before the buy. Early game on Sunday, October 10th, the Denver Broncos come to town.
So, you could have you could have Aaron Rogers in week four or week five. >> Yeah. >> Or week two. >> You're gonna have to face Aaron Rogers at least once in the first six games. And then in week six, this will be Sunday Night Football as you continue to stay at home hosting the Seattle Seahawks before the buy. >> Okay, >> that's an early buy for this long season. >> Week seven is the buy. That's about the halfway point, but that's compared to what others have been putting on. There's a week six has by mageddon this year, but every other team seems to stretch until at least week 10.
So week seven is one of the earlier weeks. Week eight, you will be at Cleveland, >> the Browns, >> followed by Monday Night Football on November the 8th as you are hosting the Chicago Bears. >> The Bears. >> I want to pause right here. Okay, Don. >> Yeah. >> If I told you that the Steelers were going to start one and seven or 0 and eight, what would you say right now? >> Uh, nah, I wouldn't believe it. >> I I don't blame you, but there's a chance. But then again, that's why they play the games. >> Yeah, that's there's always a chance for everything.
And they could go one and seven. You know, if they did, I'd be Oh my god. I don't think >> they won't lose week 10. Let me put it that way. They won't lose week 10. So, you're not >> Sunday, November 14th, the early game. You will be hosting the Detroit Lions. >> Dang, Lions. >> We And then you're going to go across the country the following week as you are at the Chargers >> LA >> for another Sunday night game. I'm sorry. You are correct. I forgot to say that. The following Sunday, early game at the Bungles.
H >> I'm actually wondering if I may wind up being at that game. >> Week 13, it could get a little sticky as you were hosting the Baltimore Ravens. >> With the Ravens, it doesn't matter. We could be undefeated and they could have one win in a season that far in and it's still going to be a close game. The >> That's what a rivalry is for. >> Yeah. The Ravens and Steelers, no matter what, is always a close game. >> Week 14, the obligatory Thursday night game that every game, every team must play. You will be at US Bank Stadium to play the Minnesota Vikings.
>> All right, >> week 15. Did you notice anything about that Thursday night game? >> Fox, NFL, and Amazon. >> But it's on it. It'll have Fox. That's the That's the change for this year. >> Okay. >> Fox had no Thursday night games last year. They were all NFL Network or Amazon. >> Week 15, the early game, the Sunday be uh before Christmas or the week of Christmas, Tennessee Titans are coming to Hinesfield. And then week 16, you play the late game at Arrowhead to play the Kansas City Chiefs >> the day after Christmas.
>> Yeah. >> In Arrowhead. That's the only That's the only chance we have is that's the day after Christmas. But >> week 17, you'll get the season finale of Monday Night Football as you host the Cleveland Browns. And then week 18 at the early game, you'll be at Baltimore. >> The Ravens again, always a close one no matter what. >> Oh, that's a tough stretch, dude. That it it's going to be a tough season. >> Oh, yeah. Well, we always have the Ravens in the Browns and the in the Bengals >> and the Bengals.
Yeah. >> Yeah. Then we're playing the NFC West and we're also I mean the uh NFC uh North and then the uh AFC West this year. So those are >> interestingly enough, if you had to guess which game has the cheapest tickets for the Steelers as of right now, which game would you guess? >> The Day after Christmas. >> That is a negative, sir. That is actually one of the most expensive. >> Okay. Um, your cheapest game right now is in Cincinnati because Ohio sucks. Moving right along. >> What do you mean you might be at that game anyways?
>> I might be at that game because that's around Thanksgiving and my family I have family in Cincinnati. >> Okay. All right. >> I know I'm supposed to be at at least one uh Bengals game this year. I just don't remember which. >> Well, in all fairness, let's talk about your Giants. It is strange that when I go to the Giants schedule page, it doesn't give me preseason. It depends on which p which site you're using. >> I'm at giants.com is where NFL.com sent me to. >> Oh, okay. >> Which is very strange because when I clicked on the Steelers, it gave me the preseason.
>> Hm. >> Regular. >> I wonder if we're not set yet because we're not in the Hall of Fame game. >> Could be. >> Even though I know we're playing the Jets uh preseason week one and I forget, but it's it's two uh quote home preseason games and one on the road. >> Well, you've got two games in the first week of the season. Week one, you'll be hosting the Denver Broncos. >> That could go either way. >> And you have the Thursday night, the official Thursday night football premiere on the 16th at Washington Football Team.
>> H I'm going to be very curious because you know my love for Fitz Magic. >> Mhm. >> And my heart is going to be torn a little bit on that one. So, we'll see how it goes. Week three, hosting the Atlanta Falcons. >> Could also go either way because the Falcons are either going to be world beaters or beaten by the world. >> Week four at the Saints. That team that's going to go either way, brother. >> Well, and that's because that defense is still really good, but what do they got at quarterback? I can't believe the contract they gave Taesm Hill.
I really can't. And you know what? That kid may come out and set the world on fire and show us all wrong. >> I like him, but not as much as I like Kitty Bridgew. >> He's TBO 2.0. 0 to me. >> Week five, you come to this Fairberg as you go play the Dallas Cowboys >> on Joe's birthday. >> Oh, very nice. >> Yeah. So, he may be in town and we may wind up doing that. >> So, not going home because you're probably going from here straight to the West Coast in week six at the Rams. >> Oh, no. >> They're at home against the Rams.
>> They're at home. You're right. I'm sorry. >> And we are probably going to get the snot kicked out of us. staying at home in week seven hosting the Carolina Panthers. >> Sam Darnold going to be back at Medife probably booed like crazy. That'll be fun. >> From there, you go to Monday Night Football in week eight at Arrowhead Stadium >> and proceed to lose by 40. >> Followed by coming back home in week nine hosting the Raiders. >> Yeah, that that could go either way. I I have high hopes for Vegas, but I always do.
>> Week 10 is the buy. Week 11, you go to Raymond James Stadium to play the Tampa Bay Groners and to lose by 40 again. >> Philadelphia at home in week 12. >> That's our equivalent to the Ravens like Don was talking about with the Steelers, but uh I have a low opinion of Philadelphia as well. I think that it's going to be a 2 and 0 stretch against Philly. >> Week 13 at Hard Rock Stadium. I'm sorry. That's Joe Robbie Stadium at my Miami Dolphins. >> I'd even almost this year. >> Yep. Uh that one I may try to sneak down for, but Miami could have a really good team this year.
>> I'm looking forward to seeing what we do this year. And then in week 12, you'll go from Miami to Sofi Stadium to play the Chargers and get whipped. Week 15, you return home to play the Dallas Cowboys. >> And probably, and I can't believe I'm going to say this, I think we're going to be 2 and 0 against Philly, 0 and2 against Dallas, and split Washington. >> So, you're saying the following week at the Eagles, you're losing? >> No, winning. >> Two and two and 0 is at against Philly. >> Week 17 at Soldier Field for the Bears.
Uh, if Justin Fields is playing like some people think he is, we'll we'll lose that one. >> And season finale, week 18, you will be hosting football team. >> And that's the one we'll be winning. >> All right. Your preseason's at the bottom. You'll be playing the Jets, the Browns, and the Patriots. >> Browns is the one I couldn't remember. >> All right. And in all fairness, let's just look at my Dolphins. I will forego the Buccaneers for my Dolphins. >> Miami. Well, actually, I would rather go through the Buccaneers and see what you think about possibly running the table.
>> No. Oh, we'll go through them both. >> Okay. It's our show. We can do what we want. >> Actually, I just have to have to do open. >> The question is, do you want to start alphabetically or do you want to go north to south? I mean, >> no, let's let's do the Dolphins first. >> Okay. Because, you know, champions advantage. >> Dolphins preseason at the Bears hosting the Falcons and at the Bengals. Week one. And I love that this is happening in week one because it means we don't have to go to Gillette Stadium in December.
>> That is also very true. Now granted, we tend to actually have a really good record at Gillette Stadium in December. I just get nervous when the Dolphins have to play in the snow. >> Yeah, that's fair. We And we're straight out of the gate two in conference or in uh division games as week two we come home to host the Buffalo Bills. the Bills is a team that and it's so weird when I see the the radio uh affiliates because like WQAM on the AM side >> always been the home of the Dolphins, but seeing Kiss Country 99.9 hosting the Dolphins games is weird to me.
>> Yeah, >> Buffalo I again, this probably means we got we don't have to go to New England in December, but we'll probably have to go to Buffalo in December. So, if we're going to if we're going to host them in September, week three, we will be at the Raiders. So, all three of our teams playing the Raiders this year. >> Uh that would be a fun road trip, but I don't I also would It also might be a nightmare of a road trip, too. Week four, hosting the Colts. This is a team I'm going to be interested to see how they play this year.
I have high hopes for the Colts this year, so we're going to hold on to that. one team playing another team as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host my beloved Dolphins in week five. The early game we're probably going to get beat, but it'll be fun. >> But honestly, this is this is another one. The Dolphins could be one and four, 0 and5 or they could run the table. Uh I don't think they're going to win against Buffalo. That's Buffalo and Tampa Bay are the two I would lock in as L's, but they could potentially like that's one of the great things at this point.
Anybody could beat anybody in the NFL unless you're Jacksonville or Philly. Well, after that game, I was going to say we go across the street, but no, we go across the pond October 17th, 9:30 a.m. Eastern playing Jacksonville in London. I'm sorry, where? >> London. >> Thank you. >> And then no reprieve because we got to come back and host Atlanta the following Sunday. Then we actually are at Buffalo on Halloween. So maybe we don't play in the snow this year. >> It is Buffalo. It could snow in July.
>> That is true. And it's High Mark Stadium for some reason. I didn't know that. >> We're back. >> Relatively new as well. >> We're back home the next week hosting the Texans. Call that a win. >> Absolutely. >> And >> I'm sorry. I need to throw Houston into that group of the three teams that could be can't beat everybody. >> And then Baltimore coming to town the week after that. >> That's going to be an interesting one because that that'll be another one of the the trend for this season is Heisman Trophy quarterbacks facing each other.
>> And that is your Sunday night game. >> Yes. >> Thursday night game. Thursday night game. God, I can't read today. Then the week of Thanksgiving, we will be playing at Metife Stadium against the Jets, followed by hosting the Panthers and hosting the Giants. As we talked about earlier, Miami has the buy in week 14 this year. >> Wow. That's the latest one I've seen. Actually, >> you and me both. We will be uh Oh, look at this. Week 15, we're hosting the Jets. But that's a TBD. >> That's one that they have circled to potentially be flexed in.
It really depends on if there are any implications for the division and if the Jets look mildly competent. Speaking of which, did you see the report on Robert Salah? >> I did not. >> So, Robert Salah, who defensive mastermind for San Francisco for the last few years, now the head coach of the Jets, goes through their first practice, gets into the defensive coaches position outside of the huddle and everybody's just looking at him and he goes, "Oh, that's me." And gets me is the monarch of the sea.
That's an Indiana Jones reference because you said Salah. >> Yeah. >> Week 16, we will go to the Mercedes-Benz Super Dome to take on the New Orleans Saints. >> Again, depends on that offense. >> Weekend 17. Week Weekend 17. Week 17 at the Titans. Well, technically it is the weekend and we finish the year hosting the Patriots. And that feels like that annual tradition of the late game against the Patriots where the Dolphins win by hook or by crook. >> Let's go to your defending Super Bowl champion, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
>> Before we do trivia, the Monarch of the Sea. What's what play is that from? >> Pirates. >> HMS Pinnhapor. >> Okay. Tampa Bay preseason Bengals Titans at Houston. Houston, Houston. Let's go to your regular season. Week one, the opener at home hosting the Dallas Cowboys on that Thursday night, September 9th. >> Your overall season kickoff >> right now. Currently, Tampa Bay a six-point favorite. >> Not enough. >> I just That's the last I heard. >> Yeah. >> We open into week two hosting the Falcons in division.
Then in week three, we head out to Los Angeles to play the Rams at brand new SoFi Stadium. >> It's a tough backto-back coming. >> Dear God. Atlanta to LA, then to Gillette Stadium to play the Patriots. >> Exactly. >> But if you're Tom Brady senior, that's not a problem. >> Junior. >> No. No. Senior's the one that said it on radio. >> Oh, I'm sorry. I I thought you were referring to >> Did you not hear that clip? >> No, I did. I thought you were referring to No. Did you see the the highlight about this?
>> All I heard was the clip of him calling into Sports Radio. >> Okay. So, allow me to give you some math real quick, but I'm going to make it real easy. >> So, Tom Brady, arguably the best quarterback of all time, >> arguably >> at this point. >> What would you What would you say he might average per game passing yardwise? Just ballpark it. >> 215 yards. That's really low. But okay, let's say he goes for his average last year of just short of 290. >> Okay. Wasn't that far off? >> No, only about 100 yards.
Uh but if you give him 300 for easy math in his first three games, you're looking at 900. >> Mhm. >> Bump it down to 800 just for the sake of argument. >> Okay. He is only behind Breeze for the only record by about,00 yards. >> Wow. For the yardage. So if he does even call it 250. If he goes 250 250 250, he would be behind by about 400 yards if my math serves me. What's the odds that he goes into New England and throws for 500 just >> I would But mathematically, it balances out that the most likely game for him to set or at least break the current yardage mark, which is the only one he doesn't have, is week four at New England against the only team he has never beat in a Sunday night game.
>> You cannot tell me that NBC is not going to have their largest ratings of in decades. >> Yeah, because that is the Sunday night game and that's that's October 3rd. So >> then they come home as we talked about earlier hosting the Dolphins. Then week six at Philadelphia that's als eight at New Orleans. They have the buy in week nine. And when you have the buy before you go to football team, that's not going to be pretty. >> It is not. Oh, they're not even setting future lines on that Philly game.
That's annoying to me. >> And then uh hosting the Giants in week 11 as we talked about earlier at the Colts in week 12. >> That'll be an interesting one for Bruce Arens. >> Mhm. Going back to where he came from at one point. Then at the Falcons in week 13, hosting Buffalo week 14, and hosting New Orleans in week 15. That is your Sunday night game. That'll be fun to watch. >> Week 16, they will be hosting Carolina at the Jets in 17. And they've got Carolina two out of the last three weeks. Interestingly enough, the reason why I was talking about running the table with Tampa Bay, there is only like two or three games if you squint hard enough, I could see them losing.
>> But this is the NFL. >> Oh, I know it's the NFL. I'm like Don, I can't predict these things because the NFL, >> that's why I I love parody. P A R I T NFL >> and I also do love P A R O D Y. I do enjoy both of those things. >> It's just it's the NFL. >> I'm just I want to go to there now. >> Well, for as do I. Week one, I could see something going sideways and Dallas keeping up on offense, but they have no defense. The Rams I think very highly of. It's especially because it's on the road and it's not a night game.
Uh, New England isn't happening. Miami isn't happening. Sorry. I could see something fluky happening with New Orleans because rivalry game. I could see them possibly doing something with Indianapolis or Buffalo. Every other game I'm pretty confident saying Bucks. >> All right, we're three months away from preseason. Let's keep it moving. >> That long. This is the longest sports talk we've ever done. >> I don't even know if that's true yet. >> Ellen, ending after 19 seasons next year as we get into TV talk.
Terrible person. >> Well, there was that talk when that uh big scandal came out that the ratings went down big time. >> Oh, I'm sure they did. >> Stuff. >> And I think Kelly Clarkson has benefited from that because her ratings are doing very well from what I've seen. And their shows are similar in tone from what I've seen. >> Yeah. And and of course, Ellen now trying to do the backpedaling of, "Oh, I didn't know I was being toxic. You made people cry and want to kill themselves. You're terrible." >> Yep.
I agree. ABC, to my wife's delight, will be renewing Grey's Anatomy with season 18. And Ellen Pompeo has signed a new deal, so she'll be staying with the show for a little while. >> Spoiler that she lives. I mean, >> oh, I didn't. >> Isn't that part of the deal of the last season was that she wasn't? >> I don't know. I don't watch that show. I just >> I just remember Shawn having a coniontion about it. So, there's that. >> Well, I'm glad she couldn't hear me then. >> That's also fair. >> Blackish will get one more season.
It will end after season 8. >> This is another one of those shows. I can't believe it's been going that long. >> And they have canled one of the spin-offs. mixed as has for life, rebel, American housewife, and call your mother all have been cancelled by NBC or by ABC. >> I almost want to say poor Mark Paul Gosler, but he kind of deserves this after the Save by the Bell thing. >> Gosselar >> semantics. >> No, that's what he says. That's we pronounce it the way they ask us to. >> I thought I said it that way, but I I will retract if I didn't.
>> Gosselar. You use the uh not the H. >> Let's see. CW. Alex, you this this would be, I think, more your I hate to say it this way, more your generation than mine. >> Okay. >> Did you enjoy uh the Nickelodeon show Secrets of the Hidden Temple? >> I did until I found out it was faked. >> Well, the CW is rebooting it for adults. >> Interesting. Because that was a kids game show, >> right? But what really hurt my heart on that one is it turned out that none of the contestants were actual kids. They were just people's children that worked on the show.
>> Oh, yeah. >> They were still kids. They just weren't. >> They They weren't randomly selected. Like you could be a contestant. No, you can't. >> But the CW is going to do it for for adults. I'm going to be interested to see how this works out. >> Actually, you know which one I want back more than that. I want Guts back. >> I was a big fan. And this I don't know if you remember this one, but there was one called Funhouse. where it was hosted by JD Roth who was big for like an hour and a half in the 80s >> and it was it was a >> it was a little bit like Double Dare without the mess >> but at the end of it go look this I guarantee you it's on YouTube >> probably >> they had this huge set for the team that goes to the final to get the uh to get the bonus round and it was all these different rooms and each room had a flag in that you had to find and each flag was a different prize and there was one that was a surprise.
It was a really neat format. I would love to see them bring that back. >> Interesting that it was only three seasons. >> It was so much fun to watch. >> Wait, but get this. Three seasons, 375 episodes. >> Yeah, cuz it was on five days a week. >> Oh dear. Okay, that would explain a lot. >> Yeah, it was a daily show. >> Oh, which I I and I dug it, man. I would say when you get a second, go see look up a couple of episodes of this on YouTube and let me know what you think >> on USA. >> Yep. And CW >> for the first time in its existence, even when it was UPN and the WWB, they are going seven nights a week this fall.
The only the only night they did not have is Saturday. They will be adding it this fall. Interesting. Disney Plus announcing this week that June 30th is when you need to circle your calendar for premium. I'm sorry, for premiere. I know it's premium when you have to pay for it, right? >> Premier access. >> Premier access and theatrical for Jungle Cruise. I mean, I'll watch it. I will, too. I just it it there's nothing about that outside of I love Emily Blunt and I love uh DJ, but I'm not paying for that.
There's nothing about I haven't seen anything from this movie, but that could also play into the opposite. Remember, we've talked about the more something gets advertised, the worse it probably is. >> Mhm. >> The fact that I've seen nothing from this makes me feel like somebody at Disney's just going nailed it. >> A-list. >> What's What's Jungle Cruise about anyways? >> It's about the Jungle Cruise. It's exactly what you hear. >> Okay. >> From Disney World. >> So, but Don may not know this. >> So, The Jungle Cruise doesn't necessarily have a story or anything to it.
It is, >> and I I don't mean to be dismissive. Rob, please back me up on this one. >> The Jungle Cruise is just a ride around what would be tropical and jungle areas. >> Okay. Uh, often times they did have a lot of aven animals that were real, some animatronic, but it was more so just an old paddle boat or a steam ship. Um, >> a miniature steam ship. >> But see, here's the thing about the Jungle Cruise that we that my wife and I learned on our honeymoon. >> Did you know that more members of management have that ride in their in their steps up the ladder than any other ride in the parks?
What do you mean steps up the ladder? What do you mean >> in their resume basically? >> Yeah. If you're in management, more more people in management at Disney have spent time working on that ride than any other ride in the park because >> I I feel like that's a Okay, go please. >> It's because you have a live host on that ride and there's a lot of improv. It's not as tightly scripted as some of the other attractions. So, you have to be a lot smarter on your feet and deal with people better. I was also thinking that there is a lot less hecticness with it besides the improv, whereas other ones you wind up getting people that freak out or react poorly to guests.
E has announced that Leverne Cox will be their new red carpet uh host because Juliana, I believe, is leaving to go to another network. So, if you're a fan of the you got that going for you. Kenny Maine leaving ESPN after 27 years. Did you see why? >> No, but that hurts my heart. >> Allegedly asked him to take a 61% pay cut. >> Well, he's not doing a ton anymore, so I can kind of see why they have that logic. I don't care who you are. You asked me to take a 61% pay cut. I don't care what I'm doing.
I'm out. >> No, no, no, no. I'm saying he's well within his rights, but think about when he started to now. Maybe he is only doing 49 or 39% of his work. I mean, >> Fox has renewed Call Me Cat for season two with the Mayambi. >> Heard some good things about that. >> I like her a lot. I'm a big fan. >> As do I. Uh Jillian Anderson because she can't stop playing characters with accents. She is joining the Great on Hulu for season two as Katherine the Great's mother. >> Interesting. >> I I'm in like I love Julian Anderson.
She can do whatever she wants. >> I will say this, speaking of accents and then people got a lot of flack on it. Have you watched the mayor of East yet on HBO? >> No, but I I've heard nothing but good things about what >> you got to get the on demand. Go back and start watching this. The first one's kind of there, but after episode two, watch out. And it's >> I'll tell you what, Don, I'll add it to the list. >> I know you still haven't started Sons of Anarchy yet, and that's been what, 10 years, 12 years, 15 years.
>> Don, you have to remember the obsessive insanity that is Rob's list of 400,000 things long. >> Rarely do I say no. You have to see this. >> Yeah. I'm going to take one, let's be clear, something. >> Yeah. In the pantheon of people who I put stock in that tell me I have to do something. I would say as much as I love you and you are my brother, you are not high on that list. >> I know I'm not the lovely and talented. I know that. So yeah. >> Yeah. >> If you've been watching some of the controversy >> it's it's highly recommended beyond.
>> Okay. I like that better. If you have been following some of the controversy as it applies to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and their lack of diversity in the last 40 years, NBC has decided to opt out airing the Golden Globes going forward. Tom Cruz has also given his three back and said, "I don't want to be a part of this." >> What will Ricky Jervase do? >> Or Tina Fay and Amy Polar. >> That's also fair. It always just seemed like a banquet to me anyway. >> It was a banquet. That's what it was.
It was a banquet that if you show up, we give you a statue for something. >> And as Don tell you, the SAG means more to the Oscars than that thing does. >> Yeah. But the other to it is >> Go ahead. Go ahead, Don. If you look at the stats when it comes to the acting categories, best actor, best actress, supporting actor and actress, SAG, whatever the SAG is, follows by the Oscars over like 90% of the time because 85% of the people that are in or everybody 85% of the people of the academy are SEG members also.
So they vote the same thing twice. So >> yeah, the other aspect with the Golden Globes is the fact that you look at what they've done with categories to make sure everybody gets there. It's how The Martian wound up winning for a comedy and despite being funny was not a comedy. Um and then you have the situation where it's like, oh, we're going to add musical as its own thing instead of having it musical and comedy so that Hugh Jackman gets an award and all sorts of different things like that. And I'm not saying people weren't deserving, but they were more so catering to getting people awards than they were actually awarding deserving talent.
And I I'll tell you this, Hugh Jackman has one of my favorite Oscar moments of all time. If you remember when he hosted and he did his opening musical number where he talked about all the best picture nominees and they got to a very popular movie with the awards at that time called The Reader. And he gets to that point and he's like, "The reader, I didn't see the reader." Like just it cracks. It makes me giggle every time I think about it. >> I can't tell you the last time I watched an Oscar show.
It might have been one of the early times for Billy Crystal, if that tells you. >> It's probably been six or seven years since I watched the show. We live tweeted it one year. >> Yeah. >> So, the next live musical on on NBC for the holidays will be Annie. not a fan. And in in news that surprised me this week, because I didn't know these were still a thing, much less on NBC, Days of Our Lives has been renewed for two more seasons, for seasons 57 and 58. >> My mother and her geriatric friends will be ecstatic.
>> I thought they were going the show. >> No, the problem is is that they keep trying to do other soap operas around them and they're like, "Oh, this person has talent. Let's just pull them over to this. And yes, you're going to be in a love interest with a 95year-old man who can't walk. That's awesome. >> And for people don't feel like they cry at television enough, This Is Us will end after season six. >> See, that one I would have guessed was on on air longer than Blackish, >> but I think it was just the amount of information that came out and the positivity around it.
And while we're still on NBC, let's talk a few headlines for Peacock. There will be a third Psych movie that they're going to carry. But will Charlotte be back? >> I don't know. >> Jojo Siwa and Paris Hilton are getting a reality series >> on what what's on >> Peacock. As I just said, Don, >> I know that, but I mean, what would this be as I >> That's all we know at this point. >> Oh god. >> I don't know who half of those people are, and I was hoping the other half had gone away. Uh Jojo Siwa was a uh she was very popular on the on on the Tik Toks and the thing like that and then she wound up getting a show on Disney I think for a minute.
Hard pass. And then uh Brian Van Holt, if you know who he is, he will be playing John Rinky in the Joe Exotic series that will be exclusive to Peacock now with Kate McKinnon. >> How? So they're reacting >> they're reenacting the the tiger thing from Netflix into a drama or something like that. >> It's just going to be a series. I don't know. I don't care. I don't >> And that's the one with Nicholas Cage attached as Joe Exotic, isn't it? >> I thought that was the feature film. >> I don't know if they're separate things.
>> I I I do like I did like the Tiger King thing. I mean, I will admit that it was a good series. Let me look it up. Nicholas Cage. No, >> Netflix has announced we are getting a sequel to an uh to Anola Holmes, which that's on my list to watch because Bobby Brown. Everybody's coming back. Henry Cavl's coming back. >> I love all things Sherlock Holmes, so I need to check that out. But we are getting a sequel >> and we're getting an and and Stephen Zimmerman news, they are doing an animated feature of Ultra Man.
>> Oh wow. and I am here for it. He just bought that big box set of the original Ultra Man that cuz I love me some Ultram Man when I was a kid. >> So, uh, Nicholas Cage, it's the untitled Joe Exotic. It's a TV miniseries is what it is. >> Okay. It might be the one Peacock is doing. >> Okay. >> Because that's got Kate McKinnon in it. >> Yeah. >> It could have both maybe. And Shondaanda Rimes, if you follow anything ABC has done in the last five years, >> she has been tapped to do a Bridgetgerton spin-off series with Young Queen Charlotte.
So, be prepared for that because you're also getting seasons two and three of Bridgetgerton, which my wife was like, "Yeah, I I enjoyed that." >> I know everybody that watched it enjoyed it. I just there's nothing about it that screams to me. And for Alex, this next headline is just for you, sir. >> I think I know what this headline is. >> We go to the Sci-Fi channel. Do you know where I'm at yet? And Don, this all be This is something I think that that that's in your wheelhouse as well. >> All right.
Listen, >> Sci-Fi is releasing a new horror film this fall. >> Okay. >> This is going to be a horror film. I am not joking. There is no punchline to this. This is really happening. punch line. >> Bring it on Halloween and it will be a horror film. >> Bring it on Halloween. >> That is happening people. >> Bring it on like the stepup kind of stuff or >> the cheerleading movie. Yes, sir. >> Oh god. >> But who's more fodder for horror films than cheerleaders? >> I don't want to answer that on air. >> Did you say Halloween was Michael Myers going to come out and slash them all at once?
All we know is it will be called Bring It On Halloween. It will be a horror film. It will be brought to you by the Sci-Fi Channel this fall. Probably debuting on Halloween if I were to guess. >> And it'll probably be a cult classic like Shark NATO. >> Dear God, no. Why you got to speak that into existence, D? >> And then it'll have like three more. >> Don, stop. >> I'm gonna let him go because I'm okay with this. See, this was not the headline I thought the headline Halloween, you know, then bring it on.
>> Bring it on Arbor Day. Let's go. Exactly. Bring it on the great pumpkin. >> Bring it on Earth Day. Oh god. >> Oh, please. >> TV releases on DVD and Blu-ray this week. You get the complete series of CSI New York with the Gary Senise. I think Cala Ward was in that too as well. and the ultimate collection of Beverly Hills 90210. I do not know what that means. >> I believe that means it's the old and new show. >> Do you have the Adult Swim headline? >> Oh, I I actually that's going to be in Movie Talk.
>> Okay. That's the one I thought you were going with that made me excited and then you just cut my legs out from under me. >> Yeah, that's that's going to be in movie talk. >> Okay. Uh music news this week. Congratulations to favorite uh friend of the show, Scott. Andrew WK and Cat Dennings are engaged. >> That is the weirdest pairing, but you know, >> he likes to party and he will party hard. And I don't think that's a strange pairing. If you know about both of them, that's about right. >> No, it's a strange pairing because she's so much hotter than him.
Uh, I know you're okay with me talking about this next subject, Alex, and I'm mentioning it not just because of you, because I think this is a really great thing. There is a tour happening this year. >> This summer, Evan Essence and Hailtorm are touring together. >> Guess who will probably be invited? >> That's going to be a heck of a show. >> Yes, it is. >> Although, in the promo video, Amy Lee looking a little rough. I was like, is she okay? Should they have postponed this one a couple of days?
She She looked like she was not feeling well. >> It's been a while. >> Or I And I just It's not Evan Essence. It's the Amy Lee band. Let's just call it that. Just like Paramore is not Parmore. It's the Haley Williams band. Let's just call it that and be okay. We have someone that's got a a career first this week getting his first number one on the Billboard 100 artist chart. If you've ever been on a Zoom meeting with me and you don't know how to do your audio, you know what's about to happen. DJ Khaled, first number one on the artist 100 this week.
So, congratulations to him. I just love his positivity. I don't care about anything else, but his positivity kills me. >> His performance in Pitch Perfect Three is one of my favorite things cuz he was so high. It was >> ending and why. >> By the way, I now have all three soundtracks in my iTunes library >> cuz I'm not a actually four because there was a second one for the first one they put out. and you have your first your official inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which will happen on Halloween this year.
They're pushing it back because of the pandemic. Now, there were other awards that are going to be given. I'm not counting those. I'm only counting the people that are being inducted proper. >> Yeah, I was curious about those. Are I was like, are they the participation trophies? >> I've never heard of those before. I'm like, what the crap is this? I really feel like it was the idea of like, oh, they're not going in, but we need to give them something like LL CoolJ should be in. I don't care. Yeah, but here's your list for this year, Don.
You ready? >> Listen, >> the go- goes. >> Okay, they're in. >> That's what the show's based on, opinions. >> I They They should be in 100%. >> I agree with you 100%. Number two, >> so sweet. >> Who fighters are in? Absolutely. >> Yeah. I say eventually >> we had a very good >> we had a very very good discussion about this in the archives. If you want to go back to vocal now.com and look at an older episode where we talk about the nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. >> I believe they are worthy but just not yet.
I want more time. >> Me too. I agree 100%. >> Also in Sean Carter himself Jay-Z. Yes. Absolutely. Even though it's weird to have Jay-Z in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but >> we know why, >> sir. >> Collision course. >> That bit in. He is the reason mashups happen. He and Lincoln Park in that album made it okay. >> But if you if you watch the documentary on that one, he wasn't as in on it. Lincoln Park approached him. >> Yeah. But it still was phenomenal. I don't care >> that it was >> it was amazing.
>> But did you hear the story about them springing that on fans >> so Lincoln Park put out a survey essentially trying to think of something different to do. So Mike Shenoda uh respect uh put it out and any fan that they had that was part of their fan club was very much into going to concerts and different things like that. Any fan who put that one of their other favorite artists was Jay-Z got invited to a private show and that's how they debuted the songs to them. >> I I could listen to that album on a loop because it's just >> it is really good.
>> Also in this year I believe way overdue because it's been almost 50 years closer to 55 that she's been in the business. The great Carol King. >> Oh yeah. Yeah. I agree. And if you haven't seen Beautiful, if it comes to your town, do it. I've seen it twice. It's amazing. And my sister would agree. Also in this year, hello, it's me, Todd Rungren. I like him. A lot of people don't understand that he did a lot of work behind the scenes. He is fully worthy. And I believe he also did I want to bang on the drum all day.
I think that was him as well. that every radio station played at five o'clock on Fridays for about a decade and a half >> or at 6 am in the morning. >> Yeah. >> And someone who should have been in a long time ago. >> This was the first one I thought you were talking about. >> And I'm so glad because we got the documentary this year, which I have not watched yet. It's on my list. Tina Turner going into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Way overdue. Legend, big fan. Glad to see this happening.
That will be happening on October 31st and will probably be streamed on HBO Max the following weekend. >> Did I ever tell you about the disciplinarian at my high school? >> The unofficial vice president or vice principal who was in charge of discipline at my Catholic high school. >> Never heard about this. >> Okay. Ar arguably one of the scariest men I have ever met with a heart of gold. Let me clarify. >> And you've met Don. Oh, I would put him in the same category only smart. Um, >> but but this this dude was like >> TO LOOK ON DOD'S FACE.
>> This this dude this dude was stone cold before Stone Cold. Let me put it that way. He was like 6 foot five, jacked, shaved head, took no flak, but as soon as you got into his office, everything was Tina Turner. Everything. And I was like, >> "Sometimes we like >> things is not like the other. >> Sometimes we like to do it rough." >> She'll tell you. >> I see what you did there. >> Music new releases we're going to do yesterday and next week because this counts for both weeks this episode. Albums that came out yesterday.
I just like this name and I don't know what it is. Cake Pop. >> Cake Pop 2. I'm a fan of the Cake Pops, but I'm not familiar with the music. >> Uh Ethan Gold with Earth City 1, The Longing. >> Also, Jay Cole with a brand new album yesterday called The Off Season. Juliana Hatfield is back >> with a new album called Blood. Miles Kennedy, formerly of the Alterbridge on this day. He has a brand new album out called The Eyides of March. St. Vincent with Daddy's Home. She's got a brand new album that is a she.
>> And the Black Keys with a new album out called Delta Cream. Cream with a K >> cuz they're extreme. >> Coming out next Friday, Blake Shelton has a brand new album called Body Language. As I just picked this because I like the name of the band, Fly Panam. If you're not 45 or older, you may not get the reference. With Frontier, Gary Newman has a brand new album called Intruder. >> Okay. >> Mickey Dolan has a brand new album where he >> The Monkeys. >> Yes, he has a brand new album coming out next week called Mickey Dolan Sings Nezmouth.
So, he'll be doing he'll be saluting Mike Nesmouth, which I'm totally cool with. Olivia Rodrigo, who will be on SNL tonight, her brand new album comes out next week called Sour. Paula Cole, I don't want to wear it. She has a brand new album called American Quilt. I remember she had like got she like dogged on it was either Entertainment Weekly or Rolling Stone in the late 90s because she did a a photo shoot for them and apparently she doesn't do the removal of the armpit hair and they photoshopped it out and she wrote them a nasty gram about it so they republished a picture.
Weird. And 21 Pilots with a brand new album this week called Scaled and Icy. I guess they're >> I got nothing. The Arctic. >> Still an icy. I don't know. That probably in the realm realm of fish heads. I don't know. >> Roly poly fish. >> Fish heads. Eat them up. Yum. >> Movie talk. Congratulations to Roblo this week. He celebrated 31 years clean and sober. >> Wow. >> Cool for him. Congratulations. >> Shout out to Rob for that. And I just I was at the at the movie trading company last week and I bought a bunch of cheap soundtracks and Sing Almost Fire was one of them.
Batista's gonna be in Knives Out, too. >> Wow. >> Excited about this. Have you heard who else has joined the cast? >> I have not. >> Ed Norton. >> Really? >> Janelle Monae. >> Okay. >> And someone whose time has finally come and I could not be more excited. And how you doing? Katherine Han. Oh, because remember we're getting two more and Netflix has them. >> That's a You know what? That that feels like one of those movies that everybody was like, I will take scale. I want to be in these. >> Dave Batista and Daniel Craig back together again.
>> Oh my god. I I didn't even put that together right off the bat. I even thought of Bond and didn't put that together. >> Yes, sir. And if you haven't seen Knives Out, do yourself a solid. >> Absolutely. I love that movie. Adult Swim, as Alex mentioned earlier, has announced three movies, Don. Are you ready? >> Yeah, I'm listening. >> You're getting movie versions for the Venture Brothers. Yay. >> Thank you. Never heard of him. >> Hunger Force. >> I'm sorry. Hold on. Did you hear Don's response to Venture Brothers?
>> Don, please say it again. >> Never heard of him. >> Are you shocked? >> Yeah, actually, I kind of am. I don't think the Venture Brothers would be Don's speed, >> but but I I also value Don's opinion on stuff like Venture Brothers >> and would think that he would have been in on this. >> No, I'm Yeah, I'm being honest. I'm not going to lie to the Empire out there. >> Oh, I'm not saying that you should lie. I'm just surprised Hunger Force getting a movie as well >> and Metallocalypse. >> Yes, >> Metal Aocalypse.
Okay, >> you know what? I would be interested for Don to watch Metal Aocalypse because I think he would enjoy that one. >> I want to I want to watch Don watch Metal Aocalypse for the first time. I would I really want this. >> I love Okay. I love Metal Aocalypse. It is stupid fun and it is amazing. >> Oh, it's an animated series. Okay. All three of them are >> Okay. >> Yeah. But interestingly enough, Metal Aocalypse started with two guys and they've actually had best-selling albums for the fictional band in Metal Aocalypse because it is decent death metal.
I mean, >> Robert Dairo announces a new project and Alex, I think this is something you'll be interested in. It's a movie that's called About My Father. It is about the life and times of one Sebastian Maniscalo. >> I am I I will talk about that one off air, but I am not interested. >> Did not realize you were not a fan of the guy. I apologize. >> I'm not a fan of that person. >> That's what I'm saying. >> Yes. >> Was not aware. I apologize. >> No, no, no, no. Not a problem at all. I just I have zero interest.
Plus, the dude's not funny. >> Do you remember a movie that Michael Douglas did in I want to say it was the late 80s, early 90s? Don, you might remember this as well, called The Game. I love that movie with Sean Pen. >> You're getting >> Yeah. Where he plays like his brother and stuff and they put him on this game and they seems more reality than it. Yeah, I remember that movie. >> You're getting a reboot. >> Interesting. I could see that going I could see that being interesting now, especially with the advancements in technology.
And we also got news this week that the Shangqi movie that Marvel is doing, >> Shangi and the 10 Rings and Free Guy are going to be theatrical only for the first 45 days. >> Interesting. >> So, we're trying to maybe move the needle a little bit back into that >> uh theatrical model. Still a little quicker. >> Yeah. >> Than otherwise because normally it's 60 to 90 days. >> Mhm. >> But I think there's they're they're trying to get to this. Okay. We're we're not for these. We're going to test the waters and see how the model works after 45 days instead of theatrical and streaming the same day.
>> Yeah. There's been a few films that are starting to get advertised where they're saying it's theatrical only. >> Mhm. So, uh train whistle >> A-list. I didn't hear a train whistle. >> That was my text thing went off. >> Oh, okay. >> Silence right now. Okay. Just a heads up. My dad had heart surgery on TV. >> Yes. I wanted to I definitely wanted to talk about that. How's your dad doing? He is doing good. Uh he got out of the uh intensive care this morning. >> Good. >> Did have to put a defib in and stuff, but considering the situation, everything's been going good.
So, I apolog shout out to Papa Ford. I'm glad you you reminded me of that because I wanted to make sure that we sent a shout out. >> Yeah, he's he's doing good considering I was able to FaceTime him a couple times yesterday. Still his grumpy self, you know, but love you, Pop. So, you know, >> man, we said hello and give him our best. >> Yeah. Yeah. With all due respect to anybody watching or listening to this, family will always come first. Believe it. >> New releases on DVD and Blu-ray this week.
Supernova. This is a a film that came out very quietly but got a lot of a lot of a claim. We talked about it recently. Let me get you the official MD on that. It's not about Noomar. >> I wouldn't expect it to be, >> which we'll talk about tomorrow on the cheap podcast. Colin FTH and Stanley Tucci. Sam and Tusker are traveling across England in their old RV to visit friends, family, and places from their past. Since Tusker was diagnosed with dementia two years ago, their time together is the most important thing they have.
>> H also, Cosmic Sin, and the only reason we mentioned this, Bruce Willis and Alana. >> Yeah, that one went quick. So recently, this next one, I had to put this on the list besides we're getting Miss Mission Impossible 25th anniversary edition. >> Nice. >> But recently, we were talking about movies that haven't gotten Blu-ray releases, and I was a little It's like one of those like I'm not saying this would sell a million copies, but it's a movie that it's a sports movie, >> okay? >> It's a movie that I very much enjoy.
If I say the word football, does that mean anything to you? >> Wild cats. >> There you look at Don. >> Yeah, >> that had Woody Harelson in it. >> That was the first movie with Woody Harelson and Wesley Snipes together. >> That gets a Blu-ray release this week >> and that was Goldie Horn. >> Correct. >> Correct. Yeah. >> Nicely done. So, a couple of tech talk. If you are a Fortnite fan and you are also a Teen Titans fan, Raven and Beast Boy are available in Fortnite now. >> Okay. >> And they announced Star Wars Celebration next year has been moved from May up to May from August.
So it's back to its May time frame next year. It will be in Anaheim. >> They've gone to a model of every other year America, Europe, America, Europe. >> That makes sense. That gives you more global aspects. I'm surprised they wouldn't mix in Australia there somewhere. >> Australia. America. Australia. America. That's an old Simpsons episode >> because they go to the embassy at Homer's jumping back and forth. They punch him in the face. We do NOT TOLERATE THAT CRAP HERE, SIR. >> Anything we're missing today, gentlemen.
>> Oh, there's a Sorry. Please go ahead, Don. >> I said no, not really. Not nothing. >> Well, there's a there's a there's a couple other releases on the list. uh not necessarily in the DVD and Blu-ray, but in the 4K range. >> Please do. >> Uh Rya and the Last Dragon that you were a big fan of. >> Love that movie. >> And if they wanted to see your review, where would they get it? >> At www.theclubhousepodcast.com, >> but also you get >> That's our website. >> Thank you. >> Go ahead. >> I'm out of practice.
But also Animal House with a collector's edition of a 4K National Lampoon's Animal House. I'm sorry. >> I have a connection to that movie. >> I know. >> But the other two you have are The Sting, which I am a big fan. >> Great film. >> Yes. Odd 4K. But one of Sean's arguably favorite movies of all time, and you feel free to judge her for this, Last Action Hero. >> That's a great movie. What are you talking about? M I love its tongue-in-cheek nature. That is not a great movie. >> And it's got a great de leopard song in it.
>> Which one? >> Two Steps Behind. >> I saw that theatrically, my friend. >> See, my my problem was is that it was so hard to find Big Gun by AC/DC that was on that soundtrack >> and just the part where he's in the blockbuster and it's Stallone's face, too. >> I love that guy's work. >> My favorite is more so the Robert Patrick for like half a second where it's like, wait a minute, that was T1000. >> Hold on one second. I got to look something up when it comes to Last Action Hero. >> Okay, but yeah, Last Action Hero I was a a fan of, but I'm never going to call that a great movie.
>> I enjoy that film. >> It was it it's a lot of fun. >> F. Murray Abraham, Charles Dance, >> Charlie Dance, >> the great Mercedes Rule, >> Ian Mckllen. I believe that was one of the first movies for Bridget Wilson Sampress too. >> Joan, that's who I was looking for. How you doing? Joan Plowight, Jim Belalushi, Chvy Chase, Chris Connelly, Karen Duffy, >> Lisa Gibbons, MC Hammer. Come on, man. Little Richard. >> I'm sorry. Did you say Ian Mckllen already? >> Yep. Maria Shrivever, Sharon Stone, JC VD, Melvin Van Peebles, Damon Weighins, Noah Emmerick, Tina Turner.
That's an all-star lineup right there, brother. Yeah, but the average screen time for all those people is probably like 1.2 seconds. Angie Everheart as Video Babe. Yeah. Bridget Wilson Sampris. Mhm. As Schwarzenegger's daughter. Mhm. Rick Dookerman was in this. All right. Now, we're getting kind of deep in there. Okay. Yeah. Don, anything from you? >> Nah, no, no, no. Just that Dad's okay. That's it. That's all I could ask for. So, >> shout out to to to Papa Ford. >> All right. >> Glad you're doing well, sir.
