I did do a whole lot, kind of just chilled and watched college football pretty much That's what Labor Day is for You didn't fire up the big green anger anything? Not did, I went to gorgeous day things Yeah, it was a gorgeous day, I had plans both days for dinner and some And I continue in beautiful weather here in the Dallas area today I actually wrapped my pipes, cause all those, they cold weather Did you usually drip in and leave drip in last night My wife was excited to put on her rope and go outside last night I'm like, it's two, enjoy it, just take it in Don't cover yourself up We welcome each and every one of you that lets us do us each and every week Going to change things up a little bit tonight, not too much Just because a couple of our sports segments, there's nothing going on And so luckily, that's actually a good thing because We've got a lot of things that are in one of our segments to talk about Of course, we all know the NFL season kicks off this coming Thursday night New Orleans travels to Lambofield to take on the World Champion They travel too, though for us a ton of love bofee I'm sorry, maybe I can't believe it Yeah, every week we start to show with corrections So let's do that, we have one, and it is on user You said on last week's show, you said Something about Alberto Del Rio, and I said, Alberto Del Rio was on Raw Yeah, he had taxing at the end No, he didn't He wasn't even in the country He was stuck in Mexico with visa issues that didn't get cleared up until Thursday You know, I read this, why would Vince even put his belt on a guy who would have these types of situations Maybe they thought it'd be cleared up Get clunky already And we'll talk about more of that recipe I don't want to get it I don't know, man, that's kind of odd when I read this I was like, really, so he might be legal one minute I just was like, did I miss something And then he, they said it last night on the show He goes, I wasn't here last week because I was protecting Cena from this Yeah, that's kind of odd to me that they would allow him to To wrestle, keep the belt when he's in some weird situations When his working situation is country I don't know, man, I think Vince is taking a gamble on this guy With the belt now, now that this has come out I blame him, I blame him, man That's the whole of the show Let us get into a little bit of NASCAR To let it go, isn't it? Something like that Happy NASCAR Tuesday It was the last time we had a race on a Tuesday It has been a long time, but this ended up being a legend Dairy race as far as NASCAR It turned into, yeah, I mean, used called me a lunchtime today Rumors were swirling that they were going to have to postpone this race Again This race, to me, looked like a lot like the couple college games We saw this weekend with the weather delays Let me ask you this though What would have happened if they actually had Delayed this race until tomorrow Is that going to crimp you?

It would have crimped your travel, absolutely So really, on a travel would be the only thing affected by the drivers You wouldn't have to let us, because as far as getting up We have an important weekend Get in your car to the track, get in your car, set up For that track, qualifying I mean, oh yeah, it would have been a weird situation Now I actually caught a little bit of free race on Sunday I was watching the West Virginia game And of course that went into rain to light Which we'll talk about later So instead of just looping the same college football coverage They actually did go to the NASCAR now team In their little pit road truck studio And one thing that I learned is The rain is not good for your tires Apparently, is that true? Yeah, well the thing about it is once it rained It washed off all the rubber on the track From the push range, so the truck runs So normally yes, but in this case now Yeah, you had a very fresh track with no rubber light down It whatsoever which might be very difficult But Jeff Gordon does hold off Jimmy Johnson, the final ten laps To win in Atlanta And also become the third in wins Snapping a tie with Bobby Allison and Bill are ill They're a wall trip For third on the list he follows only David Pearson and Richard Petty With his 85th win To put that in perspective, Jeff Gordon has 85th And let's be honest, he's on the other side of the hill As far as NASCAR goes Okay, okay Richard Petty had 200 wins So three is pretty much where he's going to sit Richard Petty had 200 wins I don't ever think that record will ever be snapped Is there anybody right now that could pass Gordon? NASCAR has gotten to be a lot like the NFL There's a lot of parody right now in that sport A lot more competition that's working There used to be two Could be I think a guy like Jimmy Johnson, Kurt Bush, Kyle Bush, Tony Stewart But nobody is going to, nobody is going to beat the king There's a reason why he's called the king No, I agree I mean you think that's a win 216 NASCAR races 200 Let's just 200 even 200 In second place David Pearson's got 105 So he's got 95 races on second place That's one of the sports records that's forgot about Because 20 races could Gordon catch number two Yeah It just depends on where he goes from here And if he keeps racing He's good for two wins a year So if he races another 10 years Well that really that puts Gordon in a close to 50 Maybe He's made so much money He may be a guy that goes straight into ownership And also held off his teammate Jimmy Johnson So what does that do from a teammate standpoint?

Especially a guy like Jimmy Johnson Who's one about 150 championships in a row? Like I mentioned last week Jeff Gordon owns a small percentage of Jimmy Johnson race car So it's really honestly I mean a win for Hendrix is a win for Hendrix But your top tenor is followed in a Jeff Gordon Of course Jimmy Johnson, Tony Stewart, Kurt Bush Carl Edwards, Brad Cow's lousky heat That guy has come out of nowhere The second half of the season Kevin Harbick, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kendeth And AJ Almadinger, another guy that just seems to be everywhere One of the guys we talk about a lot on this show Because we both kind of like him And he's got a more discussion on the point on him After this I see it slipping away over the junior campus He finishes 19 still top 20 But he's won the NF away from not being in that chase Well he only needs one Yeah that's it He worked getting it I mean because really Like all I could say at the top of this segment This is the most could be the most important weekend of the year For NASCAR outside of Daytona Absolutely I mean we like us we mentioned earlier I mean we are getting Right down to it This is it this Saturday night Under the lights Richmond Motor Speedway, Richmond Virginia This is your last chance to get in the chase The Geico 400 at Chicago Moreland Speedway Sunday, September 18 That's the first race for the title So if Junior has a DNF Saturday, not brother It is over It's over Is it that close between where he is in an 11 Well Tony Stewart moved up quite today with the third place finish Junior's been able to top 25 top 10 race He just can't seem to get to get the win And to me if I'm a crew chief or a fan Not a fan But that concerns me he is now only two points I head of Tony Stewart for 10th place in the sprint cup right now So he got Jimmy Johnson, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards That kind of Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harbitt, Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman The four-mench and Dale Earnhardt Junior in Tony Stewart Now around out your top 10 in the sprint cup standings Bradcast Laoski He's the 11th. So they're one two was horrible together Once there's one between And just had those 11 guys in that last race Because really because that's really all the other guys aren't racing for anything By the middle of November They sometimes get in the way And them guys not the chase can cause problems in a race track Because they're going to be they're trying to win They want the the trophy They want the check They want to go to victory lane just as bad as you do These guys not the chase can tend to sometimes cause problems on the race track for fellow drivers I'm just just something I was thinking about the other day As I was watching the rain come down there in in hot land So NASCAR fans last check last race before the chase is this Sunday Richmond Motor Speedway So and that's a night race too Yeah, we're going to light ESPN So that's all because the football game would be on the scene So absolutely Do you think I should go to that? I think I think they've got the best receiver in the league. If Aaron Foster can stay healthy, he's at least a top 10 running back in the league. So absolutely, friend of the show, Charlotte won it last year.

Yeah. The, uh, also they've decided, you know, weight fillups, former Cowboys coach, the coordinator of the now. He's going to have Mario Edwards standing up right this year.

Outside linebacker. Mario Edwards is leaking large in quarterback and now you're putting like they do wear at times. So I think also Houston's going to be very improved defensively as well.

You know, as we say football was back on Thursday, boy, that that was the worst opening day slate of games. I think I've seen them try to roll out. I said on my show Sunday, that are NCAA ought to take that a little more seriously.

But, but you know, they're not the machines, but you know, I was great. There was football. You know, and I'm not saying happy.

I'm not saying I need one versus two, opening not not saying that. I don't know such thing because he's imposed on me. I don't even need a top 10 versus top 2.

I didn't need LSU Oregon Thursday night Saturday. Cool. I didn't need a Thursday.

So you got to give me something more than Mississippi State at Memphis with sconton at UNLV. That I'm going to make a prediction here. That Russell Wilson is this year's camp Newton.

Really, they're not going to win the national title because God won't allow Wisconsin national title. But I want to tell you, he will be don't be a surprise if Russell Wilson is not lead with sconton to the Rose Bowl and he's not on the Heisman ballot. If he stays healthy, that gives good.

And we're going to talk more about this and who showed up and who didn't. Baylor. Yeah, you know, Baylor, that's probably the biggest win to happen on that campus.

I got in the bait with a guy at my other job at and, uh, to chop the, he, he, he, um, he tried to bait me last year versus Texas. Texas was a bad football team last year. That was in Austin.

I'm talking about in Wakeo, even the O for most bit them, even the O for win against A&M was in, was in college stations. I don't want to count that either. But Robert, they won despite, and I'm too, Baylor's the hot, lovable team right now.

RG3's a decent player. I'll tell you two things about him. He's injury prone.

And if you put pressure on him, he'll turn over the football. He's not Vincent. I'm already heard that.

This kid's a senior and he's yet to play a full slate of football games in a 13 game season. I'm going to save my, my statements on that game for whom we can see. I like Robert Griffin.

His Colorado is not one a road game since 08. They mentioned apparently at, this got this got past me Hawaii apparently moving to the mountain west conference. Yeah, next year got wild.

Uh, third quarter, Hawaii's coach has got cost time out. Bring the whole team in just starts ripping them. Reperee comes up and says coach wrap it up.

Coach says give me another time out. I don't yet. So he takes back to back time out to the third quarter.

Think about Colorado in the pack in the pack 12. They will drown. Well, when they took on, they were, they were the big 12's bailer.

Colorado was a worse team in the big 12. What's bad is they have a great full-sum field in boulders. A great home to the vanage.

A great stadium. They've upset Texas there. They've upset OU there.

They've upset A&M. They beat Nebraska. They have a great home field advantage.

But they're terrible in the road. Like I said, I believe it. They didn't want to road games.

It's O8. Colorado. They said the night during their highlights with Hawaii game.

I don't know why the pack 12 wanted Colorado. So bad. They were the big 12's bailer, in my opinion.

And I'm telling you, watching them play, they are going to drown in the pack 12. Well, they can't recruit. That's the thing.

They made a bad hire. Dan Hawkins and Orelation. The son Cody Hawkins, not me.

He ended up, that didn't have been a bad deal. He was a recruit signed. He'd that killing more.

Check this out. Killing more quarterback at Boise State. Cody Hawkins was recruited and signed and gave a verbal commitment to Boise State.

Wow. His dad gets leaves Boise State gets the job at Colorado. Takes his kid.

Killing more comes the Boise State. Brother, the rest is freaking history. That's a name that will come up here in a minute as well.

Then we get to the six-hour Notre Dame South Florida before that before that. You as see versus, do you see this any of this U.S.C. versus Minnesota?

I've got that on the list too. Boy, you Minnesota was throwing in the end zone in the Coliseum. And I'm going to tell you, watch USC, watch Utah.

We'll talk about Utah these other minutes. Can we stop saying that U.S.F. beating Notre Dame was the shocking game of the weekend?

It's like these, it's like these TV shows and host radio shows. It was like David and Goliath. And I'm going to reiterate something I said on my show and I talked to you about it Saturday night.

I'm tired of hearing Notre Dame. It's the best team you have in 10 years. Best team and a decade that's ever took me to South Bend.

Notre Dame will never be able to get that guy again. That player that Bama gets. That Texas gets an OU Florida Nebraska, USC.

They'll never Florida State. They'll never get that player again. This is the 1920s where they roll into North Western, like the Four Horseman and New Rock knee.

And today on the grid, I was done. He broke that habit as that day and came in at one time. 174 and minus 12 red range in the end zone.

19 20s radio guy. I just and it's not like U.S.F. doesn't play in the mountain West.

This is a team that you would have thought they were D3. Not a slouch team. Not a slouch team at all.

And I'm not saying that because I went there in my freshman year of college. Not a slouch team. I commended a Notre Dame for taking that game and not taking a cupcake schedule.

The game gets delayed for lightning. Let's go ahead and talk about that now. This policy is a little weird for me.

And we know this comes from, we do we know this policy comes from the deal with Notre Dame last year where the where the kid from the video department was was tragically killed on a cherry picker. But what we what I found out as I was watching the West Virginia game on Sunday was if there's lightning scene in a six mile radius of the stadium, they will stop the game evacuate the deal and then they start a 30 minute clock. If there are no lightning strikes within the six miles of the stadium, when that 30 minute clock runs out, then the coaches could come out and do a five minute warmup before we resume the game.

If there is a lightning strike in that six mile radius, the clock resets. Is six miles a little too generous for you? I'll tell you what, lightning's not something to play with.

I agree there, but six miles? Yeah, I mean you never know do you where all the conductive helmets? I was in marching band, we cured metal instruments.

I believe the weather and to me, the weather in an arbor from what I saw ESPN kept throwing up a satellite, it could have been bad. I do commend South Florida and Notre Dame, Notre Dame, a finishing that game. Don't tell you something, South Florida right now, it to me, they're biggest champion.

I think they're the best thing in the biggest, and that's a BCS conference. Yes it is. So don't be shocked if you don't see them in a in a Fiesta, not it's so great.

If you don't remember the Papa John's not so. I mean just don't don't be shocked there, but by those guys. Then Westford speaking of that West Virginia game, they announced something during this game that shocked me.

And not a lot of shocks me, West Virginia on campus stadium. Are you ready for this? Selling beer.

They were the first ones to do that. That's an experimental deal. Selling beer on campus on campus stadium.

I believe it's not a believe it's non-comference only. Is that what they're saying? Because they didn't put that stipulation when I was watching the game on Sunday.

There's more beer snuck in the building. I mean people got to know that yeah, it's good in sections. Full alcohol.

That's just, that's just, I don't think that's a shock anybody. It shocks me that they would sell it, especially on campus. That's a little weird for me, but I mean do we know that the drinking agent was Virginia's 21?

Gabe won away Saturday night. If you watch any of that game from Cowboy Stadium, Oregon played as bad as you could possibly play against an SCC team. At one point, that, that, that final score is deceiving as LSU was up 30 to 13 at one point.

I mean, once you start turning over the ball against LSU, it's church. Also Saturday night, Mark Rick, that seat just turned into the Aggie Bonfire. We're going to talk about that here in Georgia.

Georgia is, I think if they drop to 0 and 2 against South Carolina, Saturday, you've got it. That, that job is, is one that will be open. Um, no more team in the country.

Oklahoma, open Saturday night. It's going to be running back by committee. They were running about a five headed monster out there.

Kind of walk on go for 180 at yards with four touchdowns. Got to make a call there. Got to make a call there.

I think you can do that against Tulsa. But I think by the time you get to Tallahassee in two weeks, you got to have a dude that can run the rock at that point. I don't line the formations.

I think if you have athletes, you're going to feel to make plays, get those guys on the field and make plays. Also, if I had a top five today, it would go LSU, Oklahoma, Boise State, Alabama, and Stanford. I think if you, I'm, I'm think if you beat a team, that's a top 10 team in a neutral sight, you beat them handedly like LSU beat Oregon.

I think that's enough, in my opinion, to jump them from three to one. Absolutely. None of this matters till December anyway.

Agreed. But I think right now, LSU, unless, I mean, that was a big win for those guys, especially with the Jordan Jefferson, not, you know, him not playing a wide receiver, not playing another linebacker, not playing LSU to me, really got out of there and went. We got through that when now let's go run our gauntlet of a schedule.

The death of Lee Roy Selman. Anybody that know who that is. You live in Tampa or Oklahoma.

You know that is Lee Roy Selman. Two-time all-American. First pick by Tampa, Buck and Ears NFL Hall of Famer, NCA, Academic All-American Hall of Famer, NCA, Hall of Famer, Ongs Bowl, Hall of Fame, Cotton Bowl, Hall of Fame.

The first ever draft pick, Tampa, Buck and Ears, and probably one of the best defensive lineman in the history of college football. Oklahoma coach Barry Switzer says it's the best player he ever coached at Oklahoma. And that list of the laundry list of talent that went through that building from 73 to 89.

So, sad day. Oh, the restaurant in the Tampa Bay same chain chain. Eroselman's.

So, who said to hear that, I know that they are going to honor him in Tampa during the pre-game. These numbers are already retired by the Buck and Ears. Man, just a force from just had a brother, Lucius, and Dewey, also deep in Lamedo, you.
