like there is no tomorrow.

Why is it back?
Come on now.
We didn't remember.
That's happened once in the history of the show and it was me by myself for an hour and 45
minutes and that was, that was a thing.
If you want to look it up, it's called the solo adventure.
I don't remember what episode it is but I don't even want to dig it out.
We start every show with corrections.
We actually have a couple from last week.
I said that the entryway for raw was from WrestleMania.
It was actually from Summerslam.
Okay.
So I have the case I needed to check a calendar.
And we did talk a little bit about our counter-part show.
The movie brothers were at the Capitol City Black film festival last weekend and they
got to do some stuff.
They brought their stuff, their interview with Southside with you.
They didn't get to actually screen the film for people down there but they did show
Kevin's interview on the big screen and they had a quick Q&A with the crowd and they
made some really great contacts down there and Kevin doing a great job.

to say a happy belated birthday.
Kevin's birthday was Friday.
Oh, yeah.
So we hope he'll be survived because for his birthday he got to host a sleep over for
his young son and about 14 of his friends because his son's birthday is Tuesday.
He's so cool.

So, NASCAR today there wasn't, the race is actually just starting.
I guess if you're with everybody having the, uh,
then I actually, it's the race is about an hour under way.
Um, because everybody had more off to just do the race tonight.
Yeah.
I guess was the bit.
It is, uh, I just lost, is that, uh, Darlington?
It is the, the bow jangles 500, I believe, is the name of this race?
Oh, yeah.
The bow jangles 500 at Darlington today.
It is underway.
So adding to the list of bad names.
Well, you know, bow jangles is a great, uh, is a great,
fried chicken place, very comparable to the Popeyes chicken that we have here in Texas.
Okay.
It's more of an East Coast thing.
Okay.
I do prefer their biscuit.
They're really good biscuit to put jangles.
Yes.
And I believe if I am not mistaken, this is up one to far.
This is the last, there's one more race before the chase start.
So though the racing today, we're going to race again on Saturday.
At, uh, at Richmond, the federated auto parts 400 happened Saturday at 730 Eastern,
uh, the, the race right now is on your local NBC affiliate because no Sunday night football.
Right.
Sunday night football kind of belongs to ESPN this week out there at the stadium in Austin.
Yeah.
But next week, Saturday night will be on the NBC SN, wherever you have that on your local
cable affiliate.
And that'll be at 730 Eastern and Richmond.
So that'll be what they like to call a day night race because it'll start before the
before the lights come up and by the time it's over, it'll be night time.
And then after that, by the whole boy, by the time we go back to NASCAR two weeks from
today, uh, the chase will begin at Chicago land.
I kind of want to wait though.
I don't want to talk about the name of the race till Chad gets okay.
I really want him to be here for this.
So we're going to, we're going to put a pin in that.
He should be here any minute.
So, uh, he's kind of a bunch of stuff going on this weekend kind of lost track of time
months.
Yeah.
But he'll be here momentarily.
Let's go ahead and get into some, uh, some TV talk in the meantime.
NBC, I found out the other day working on a reboot of Oliver Twist with a female
lead in it.
Olivia Twist is, I guess, that's a very, very good question.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I, I guess I'd have to read a little more into it.
I'm not, it doesn't sound very interesting already.
Yeah.
You know the story.
Yeah.
They'll be porridge involved.
They'll be asking of a little bit more.
Yeah.
I have to go in.
Yeah.
Do you remember the DC hero black lightning by chance?
No.
Kind of, African American hero, kind of a grown-up version of static shot, kind of sort of.
Okay.
He is developing a television series around it.
They haven't said where yet.
I wouldn't be surprised at this lens on the CW.
Yeah.
Working their way into the universe now that they own everything but Gotham and something
tells me Gotham's only a matter of time.
Exactly.
So I'm very excited about that, because I was a big fan of the character when I was a
little bit younger, uh, kind of a spin off a little bit from a character they used on, uh,
battle of the super friends.
Okay.
So kind of interested there.
So a couple of cancellations, lifetime has canceled devious maids.
Oh, so if you're getting ready for it's next season, that's not going to happen.
It sounds like a great show though.
Uh, it's a show that it's about maids who are devious.
Yeah.
And a lot of people know that.
So, you know, we're educating as much as anything else on this show.
I think that's a very specific audience.
Also, AMC has canceled feed the beast, uh, that show with Schwimmer, where he and his brother
decided to open a restaurant and there's sibling rivalry that turns into love, uh,
from a brother, whatever.
Did that either make it to the pilot?
No, they, they got a first season out of it.
They did.
Because I remember them doing the ads.
It was following, I want to say at one point it was following preacher before the
walking dead came back.
Right.
So you did not look very good.
That's what I got for you.
Yeah.
Also, uh, some renewals, stranger things has been renewed for season two.
Yep.
Going to get stranger things started before I go back to work on it.
At least started it not finished before I go back to work on Tuesday.
Okay.
Today, I started Jessica Jones, I thought it's creepy.
It is very creepy.
And I have also started to get down today.
Yeah.
I'm right right before we went on there.
I'm right in the middle of the second episode.
So I'm going back and forth because I can't binge shows.
Binging is not something I can do.
I can't sit down and just power through, like a season of something.
I have to watch an episode and then I have to watch something else that's kind of a
power cleanser and then come back to it.
I tend to focus better when you jump back and forth.
I do have a little bit of ADD to me.
And so I can't, you know, I just can't power through something.
I have to take a break from it and then come back to it because also I tend to retain it
better.
Yeah, I guess.
Yeah.
Will you feel like you're not just sitting there and you take like a 15 minute
nap and you wake up.
You're like, right.
I don't really really.
It's kind of the power.
It's kind of the little right.
Yeah.
The get downs only six episodes.
Okay.
I will say the first episode of the get down.
It's an hour and a half long.
Yeah.
It drags really bad.
I can't imagine.
Now this is story set up, or just a lot of it's story set up.
I think they probably could have taken that first episode and broken into two if not three
because there was a lot going on in that first episode and it's just like you're watching
a movie basically because it's an hour and a half long.
The rest of the episodes vary between 50 minutes and an hour and it's only, I guess
it's the first half because it's called part one because they have another part that's
slated for next year but they haven't put a date on it yet.
Right.
So, but I'm really enjoying it.
It's a lot of fun.
Yeah.
It's a good look at the Bronx in the late 70s.
Cool.

I wanted to wait until you got here sir because I wanted you to, I don't know what to

course actually going on right now and they race again Saturday and then the next race
is two weeks from today, the first race of the chase and I wanted to wait until you've
got here to tell you the name of the race at Chicago Land Speedway two weeks from today
at two thirty eastern on your local NBCS NFL yet as Chad is plugging his headphones

Speaking of headphones, I just right before we went on the air.
I ordered new ear pads for my headphones.

I'm also watching the get down because as you know, because you know me very well, I can't
I can't binge anything.
I have to watch an episode and then watch something else that kind of cleans the
pallets.

That could have been two if not because it's an hour and a half long the first
episode.
It could have been two if not three episodes, but I'm enjoying it.
The kid that was the lead and dope is in this really.

It's kind of cool because it's kind of like referencing.

The get down is basically what we thought dope was going that long about a decade later
because it takes place in 1910.

But that's the type of film we thought it was going to be.
And just be warned, Jaden Lee is in this thing.

So I might be able to get through that.
By the time I finished Jessica Jones and get into Daredevil season two, anything that
can make people restore their faith in one owner, writer.
Oh, no.
Right.
That is kind of a positive thing.
And we were just saying that it did get renewed for season two by the way.
Yeah.
Saw that.
That was huge.
People are freaking.
Interesting.
And the choice of one of the villains for this season of Supergirl.
I don't know if you read this this week.

Metallow will be on Supergirl this season.
Really?
One of my more favorite underrated villains.
Have they said who's playing it?

I'm just going to be a see.
Speaking of seeing who's playing people apparently there is a quote unquote leaked photo
or leaked camera footage, something about 13 seconds long that they showed at Dragon
Con this weekend of the T's of what Ghost Rider is going to look like.
It's one of those blink and you miss it kind of it.

And by the way, we got quite a few friends that are out at Dragon Con this weekend.

Joining game of thrones in season seven for what they're calling a quote on quote
significant role, but they're not saying what said role is.
And you'll have to go back and listen later, there were a couple of corrections from
last week.
You just have to listen on the playback.
We have seen in flashback the Mad King, only in season one, but we did see him.
Yes, I was all in season one.
When I saw Broadbent's name, and I was like, I wonder if he's going to be playing him
and maybe.
So we got some more interesting, but we are netflix heavy today.
We did talk about the fact that there's going to be a glow series on netflix, right?
Yes.
Have you seen the casting news this week?
I think I want to say yes.
Your lead will be played by, of course, you know, you don't want to watch it anyway,
because that was a big fan of glow back in the day, and I support all things wrestling.

So I do want to say the shout out last week for the finale, a season finale of
Rodis, which was absolutely amazing.
That's a Mark Marin trigger that because he was on that show for one episode.
What a great series.
The first couple, like I said, if you're going to watch Rodis, if you're going to binge
it, the first couple of episodes are a little tough to get through.
Once you get to episode three from there on, that show is absolute brilliance.
And if there's not a season two out of that show, I have a problem.
Because it's so well done, well done Cameron Crow, I love it when he's in his element.
Let's see.
Are you a fan of the Carrie Washington?
Absolutely.
She is developing a new show at ABC.
It's going to be a female lead LAPD drama.
Four officers who attend the Academy together, five years later are reconnected as
some ghosts from their past.
And they work for a man who they don't see.
You want to guess what his name is?
Don't tell me it's Charlie.
It is.
No, but it's not Charlie's Angel.
Okay.
But his name is Charlie, and they don't see him, but they work in NBC tried this in
it failed.
Yeah, it's all I'm saying.
Yeah, we were just talking about this last night, actually.
And what could be more instability, TNT has ordered a pilot for a series version of
let the right one in.
Did you ever see, you didn't even know that you were.
I know we were just talking about the friend of the show, by the way, Friday was Kevin's
birthday.
I don't know if you knew that.

He was a big fan of both of these films.

I mean, American horror story is how many seasons in?
This will be season six.
You know, we, you know, NBC tried to swing a Dracula and it didn't quite connect, you know,
show time did Penny dreadful.
You know, we just had.
But on the other hand, it shows like Grim and American horror story.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm just, you know, we've had this huge, recent, constant team got screwed.
Yeah, dude.

We know that local anti-hero skip bailis has left first take.

The whole place was just set on fire and exploded and killing everyone inside.
There was a, a TV movie done where Tim daily, yes, played him in the late 90s, quite
eerily.
Very eerily, actually.
93 was the year that I got out of the Navy.
Yes, it was.
And that week was the week I had gotten out.
And as we are packing to move back here, this is what's on television.
So the whole time, I mean, literally the last thing we packed was the television and
because we didn't want to turn it off because we were watching this unfold.
So it's like that, that it will always be etched, you know, that, you know, the whole thing
that you remember where you were when this went down.
That's what it is for me.
It will always be forever tied to when I got out of the Navy because it was being played
out, live and in full, you know, in living color, fair enough.
Uh, we have the female lead for Krypton, the sci-fi series that's going to be covering
the Zod family two generations before the destruction of Krypton.
I thought they put the Kybosh on there.
No, it's still happening.
Uh, Lida or Lida, I can't wait, L-Y-T-A, Zod will be played by a Georgina Campbell.
I didn't recognize her from anything when I looked her up on IMDB, then ring a bell.
Yeah, big fan of the bill, neither science guy.
I know a lot of people are.
He's returning to television.
Next year, there'll be a Netflix series called Bill Nye saves the world.
I like Bill Nye the science guy.
There's just something intrinsically cool about this thing.
You know what, if anyone had to save the world, it's Bill Nye.

Also returning to Netflix, to television from Netflix, in December, dealing with, uh,
it's called The White Rabbit because it goes down the rabbit holes of some internet things.
Uh, your myth-busters team.
Uh, I didn't think they wanted to work together in the past.
The myth-busters and seven building team is what I read today.
But Netflix is giving them a pretty penny, though.
Netflix is making money hand over fist right now.
Amazon is doing pretty well too.
I don't know what they gave the guys from the-
Amazon's doing the new tick series.
And well, and they're also bringing back the, what is it, grand tour?
The original top gear guys.
Oh, really had their, you know, less than ceremonious exit from top gear.
And as we watched it circle the drain and die a slow death.
Uh, TV on DVD and Blue Ray this week, season two of the flash.
Good stuff, good stuff.
Uh, super natural season 11.
If you can believe that.
Wow.
I know a lot of people that enjoy this show.
I don't personally.
Uh, also the- I don't know if we- we may have talked about this a few weeks ago that
this was happening.
But is the Star Trek 50th anniversary TV and film movie collection?
This thing is a beast.
How much is it gonna run?
Uh, let me see if I can get you a price point on that out the door.
Hopefully.
About the same as the new 255 disc set of most aren't.
So I don't have a price point on that with your singles collection.
Yeah.
I still see it over that.
I wish I was making that up, but that's a thing.
Well, have you seen the price point on this uber set?

the animated series and the first six films.
I'd be good with that.
I really enjoyed the animated series.
I enjoyed it very much.

I'm all the main issue with that series is it made me hate John and Cochrane so much
It overshadowed everything else but was going on and it made you scared a death that looked
John Travolta's character in the face
South Park season 19 C.C.S.I. Cyber season 2
I'm about to say the finale limitless season 1
That was based on the film that Bradley Cooper's in where he took the pill and he like I locked his brain apparently he's part of the series
So it's trying to like an extension of it
Tales with a dark side of the complete series as we prepare for the TNT series
That's tails from the crib. I'll say rectify season three. That's a sci-fi show
Charlie's angels the complete series Friday the 13th the series the complete series
Coach seasons one and two big fan of that show. They're starting to re-release them on blue ray on blue
I'm sure I've got the first season on DVDs
necessary roughness the complete series at the USA thing
Which to me they should have renamed that because I thought the movie was better. Russ says he's in the chat room. Good to see you sir

Because it's dealing with something that I'm gonna have dealing with coming up and I wanted I'd rather do with that in the rear view than in the front view

And the trailer it cuts is different from every other trailer I've seen. It's kind of neat
the way it does it. I'd really like to see Watson chew up the last two matrix films and try to
make sense of it. Yeah, I don't think Watson's even that power. I was like, look, I even, yeah, I even
have limits. And this Wednesday we will hear about the next iPhone. The launch event is this Wednesday.
So we'll have details for that. Hopefully we won't be new king itself when people charge it like
the last Samsung. All right, you're ready for the street light to be on. It was running a little
bit behind schedule, but that's all right. And we end every show with a list. It is Chad's turn.
Go! I had to kind of do this on the fly because I've been extremely busy. Even a little busy this
weekend. So you'll have to do a little bit here. It's okay that I didn't know that until today,
but that's okay. Yeah. But if you pull it off, it'd be like, I have a quote for you like three days.
Well, that's been my life. So I could make it last night. You knew that.
Since this is a travel weekend, a lot of the way if you're out there this weekend,
Hollywood, we can please be safe. Yes, this is a, what is the, the term that the police department uses,
a zero tolerance non-reviews always be. Yeah, I agree with you, bro. But a lot of people are making
road trips. And I, I, I found a list that are road trips stops that you must take for fast food.
All right. And they get it broken down by region. So like the South gets the couple, the, the
Northeast gets a couple. And a lot of these, I've never even been to. Okay. I don't live in that part of
the country. So maybe you guys might have seen a couple of these. That's very possible. But we're going to go ahead and
start in the South because, well, that's where we are. All right. All right. Starting with one of my personal favorites,
although it's kind of recently become your nemesis. Waterburger. It's not my, when did, what, no,
only the water, you're my personal water per day. Because I had water burger on Friday. For those of
you that have experienced water burger, you know exactly what I'm talking about. And remember,
I am on a one-man crusade that every public airport in the state of Texas should have a water
burger in it. I absolutely agree. Um, it's, it kind of, you ask any Texan who's grown up or any
Southern or that's grown up with a waterburger nearby. They'll tell you when they have a burger craving.
That's usually their go to. I get it that people don't get the bit with water burger. But once you
have water burger, you get it. Yeah. And I don't know what, like, it's a burger. Yes, it's absolutely a burger.
But there's something different about it. Because waterburger ketchup is the only room temperature
ketchup that I can enjoy. Yeah. I think they put crack in the ketchup. And their fries are pretty
close to perfect. Yeah. But I've had that water burger fries. You've had that water burger
everything at some point. But, you know, and they do a good chicken sandwich, too. Well, interestingly enough,
they do. Number two on the list. Chick-fil-A. That blew my mind that Chick-fil-A isn't in a lot of
states. Yeah. And Don, Don will be chick-fil-A. He's not going to be joining us Wednesday
for the show because he will be doing another trick for like right over there. So he will be
getting me his predictions for the pay for view. And I did find the the imposter recipe from making
that the Chick-fil-A sauce from heaven. And let's let's for those of the donors that we're talking
about Chick-fil-A kind of does a cool thing. Whenever they open a new restaurant, if you're one of the first
hundred people, you get a debit card that basically gives you 52 free number one combos. And
it's kind of neat the way they do it. You line up 24 hours ahead of time. So six a.m. the day before
is a 52. I thought it was like a hundred. It's 52. It's basically it's free Chick-fil-A for you. Yeah,
but they feed you all you're there. Now you can't leave the parking lot. You leave the parking
lot. You just place in line. Right. But they have entertainment out there. It's kind of a neat bit
like they let you use the bathroom if you need to. They constantly bring fresh coffee and
tea out for everybody lined out. And Chick-fil-A tea is pretty much died for. They embrace the bit.
Yeah. And God bless you Chick-fil-A for that. That's greatness. Next on the list, staying in the
Chick-Invane is a chicken place that you mentioned just a few weeks ago. Bojangles. We talked about
three getting a show. Again, never been there. But apparently they have Chick-In and Biscuits down to a
science. Never been there. You're going to have to give me some of the details on that or give
if you haven't, you know, when was the last time you hated a Bojangles? Because I've never even seen one.
It's been a long time. But your memories of it are fresh and vivid.
Okay. Switching to the West Coast. Now for a southerners that have our water burger, you know where I'm going.
Yep. The West Coast has their what? John gentlemen. We've got it here now. In and out. You got it.
I'm a big fan of in and out burger. And again, it's one of those things where if you, if you haven't eaten
one, you're not going to understand until you try it. Well, but see, a lot of people I know that have eaten
and they're like, I don't get the bit. I'm like, because you don't know how to order. In and out has a secret
menu that's on their website. And when you know how to order in and out, it's greatness. Yeah.
Don't just go there. I mean, I am burger. You got to get to know what you're ordering. Right.
And this week on hard knocks, they actually took a golf cart through the in and out trying
not a real big fan of fries. They're like, so we the first golf cart. She's like, today. Yes.
In my career. No. Not a big fan of the fries unless you animal style the heck. Oh,
animal style fries is great. It's all time. Because like, what a burger fries you can eat. Like,
just you don't even need ketchup. Although their ketchup is perfect. They do miss one thing.
And they don't have bacon on anything. That's true. Yeah. And yesterday was international
bacon day, by the way. Yep. Aren't I missed it? Another one that I'm not familiar with. Apparently
this is Seattle only. Okay. Uh, it's called Dick's Drive In. Okay. Yeah. I know. Uh, it's a Washington
state staple. Well, friend of the show Heather Fogelman spent some time in Seattle. So maybe she can
fill a sin on that. Uh, I have I have heard a listen to the show and have her fill a sin afterwards.
They're real big on the on the classic trio of burgers, fries and shakes. Okay. One one to try
if you're if you're traveling in that area. And another one, which we also have all over this area.
And I again, I know you've had good and bad luck with this place as well is jaggin the box.
Not a fan. I know you're not not a fan. But I was raised on it. My wife. Huge fan. Yeah. Me not a fan. Yeah.
And again, I thought early for us. I thought it was just a sudden thing. I didn't realize I had them on
the West Coast because he's like, I remember whenever my the first I heard of him was on the West Coast.
I see Mike when I remember one of my parents. They referenced it in boys in the hood.
Well, when Jack in the crack, when when my parents were raising my sister in the 60s,
when it because my dad was stationed at Camp Pendleton, um, they were always craving.
They always had a jack of the box toggle craving when they came back home because they didn't have
them out there. Then this is like in the mid 60s. So I don't know when it happened. But I guess they
weren't always there. But they're there now. Okay. Going up to the northeast, uh,
a little, a little joint called Silver Diner. You've familiar with this or ever heard of it. They've
a hard of it. Uh, they've got, uh, it's a chain with locations in Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia.
Uh, they got a big menu. So I mean, it's a diner. So I'm assuming it's something along the lines of
the menus, probably, resembles like Denny's and, and I often have a fan. Things of that,
you'll remember you never plan to go to Denny's right up. You'll wind up just wind up Denny's right.
Another place that definitely sounds like it's worth a visit if I were ever in the northeast,
Mighty Taco. I'm intrigued. Or should you say it? Mighty Taco. When you get control of the
sound effects, I don't, uh, this is, uh, I, from, from the looks of it in the upstate New York establishment,
um, and as a favorite of locals and travelers, uh, they allow you to customize your Taco in burrito,
uh, they have what they call a chow down service. Well, it allows you to ship products to wherever
you live in the United States. So maybe this is something that we could partake without having to make the trip.
And finishing up in the Midwest, um, culvers, culvers, which we have, we have a couple of those here.
I'm very, yeah, when it comes to the colors. Well, the thing that really other than the butter burger,
which is just now recently something that's starting to catch on another franchises and chains,
y'all can stop at any time now. Oh, no, this is, I texted them for a couple of minutes.
Um, uh, the, uh, the butter burger, I think, was started there. That's their trademark burger.
Uh, that's first time I ever heard of it. And they're, they have a, uh, frozen custard,
which is their famous for, which is not exactly a staple in, in most places to see their ice cream or
shakes or nothing else. And something that I know you're a huge fan of is they have their own house brand
root beer. You can't do it anymore. So, well, I'm just saying you're a fan of root beer.
I'm a big fan of root beer, especially when you do your own custom root beer. Yeah,
I'm on board with that. Apparently they do. And, uh, finishing up the list, one of the oldest chain
restaurants in the United States made right. Never heard of it. Got nothing. They are who started
serving up the quote unquote loose meet sandwiches. Basically the original sloppy jose.
Ah, fair enough. Uh, so like if you're, if you're wanting to change a piece from burgers and
fries, you might want to stop through made right and get a sloppy josex sandwich. And they also
serve cheese curds, which I know you're a fan of. Uh, give or take, Penny. Are you, you used to be,
that you should be one of your go-to's. All right, that's my list. That's the list.
