We talked last week about our friends in the Armed Forces.

Specifically, a friend of yours that's on the USS Harry Truman.
That is correct.
The day after we did last week show.
This comes from CNN's website.
Straight from CNN.
Sailors from the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman rescued eight Iranian mariners
in the Arabian Sea on Wednesday of last week.
Wow.
And F-A-18 attack jets spotted the Iranian's burning vessel
about 50 miles from the carrier, according to a statement from the Navy's
fifth fleet headquarters in Bahrain.
Two helicopters were dispatched to assist the stranded sailors
with a search and rescue swimmer dropped into the water for the men.
Doctors aboard the Truman found the men had no significant injuries
and provided them with food and water the Navy said.
They had been our guys, they had killed them.
I don't know about all that.
So then people are lucky it was a USS that found them.
And you know what?
And so much you, and that's a great point that you make.
You hear so much about the negative in this thing
that when you have a great story like this,
it's got to be shared.

Badly burned about.
That's what I heard.
He's the guy that was playing Ride the Barrel.
Explain that to me what that is.
I don't know all the details to exactly what happened, but badly, badly burned to the hospital.
Killed his crew chief.
One of the crew members, he died as a couple days later in the hospital.
Travis, the last report I got, which was this morning,
he's surgery number eight.
Arms are doing good.
Legs are coming along.
Burned over 73 or 4% of his body.
Wow.
They had a huge benefit.
I was fortunate enough to be just a smidge and involved in it.

Somewhere down in New Houston, I don't know exactly where it was.

It's an obsession because once you hit that one drive, that one 250 yard straight is narrow drive, you spend the rest of your life trying to emulate that shot and you never remember how.

They've got some high hopes on that kid.
But I'm going to tell you this whole future of this defensive line pins on one man.

He could be good.

One of the worst offenses in the league with that big signing up J Cutler.
You really thought that that offense was really going to jump off the board.

It might go down as one of the worst trades.
Initially, you give up two years of first round picks for this guy.
Worst than Detroit Dallas.
It does Minnesota.
It does Minnesota.
I think Minnesota knew where they were at at that point.
Herschel had some good years.
They weren't super bowl years, but he was productive.
Last year, J Cutler, I would have, there were some games last year.
I'd have yanked him out of.
He was so bad.

The night in Green Bay.
I mean, there was just some defense will be good as always.
That's one thing Chicago has always had.
Julius Peppers.
Big free agent.
Didn't do a lot of drafting.
Didn't have a first round pick for one thing.
Had a good balance offense and defense.
If Earl Lacker can stay healthy.
And on offense with the addition of Chester Taylor.
We've already discussed that the whole thing.
With Chester Lacker.
And Chester Taylor.
If it pays off to be a good pick up of him in the off season.
I could see Chicago sneaking in on the wild card.
Maybe a nine and seven.

I think if it's all, I'm not dark horse now.

You've already picked your dark horse teams locked in.

We haven't discussed mine yet.
But I mean, I've locked mine in in Houston.

But Chicago making the playoffs wouldn't be it.
It's a shock, but they've been there before.

Green Bay.
A team that I really, and I'm like, I didn't go to some website
and write this stuff down.
I actually researched it.
I wanted to put Green Bay in this division.
I really did it.
I think they've got a legitimate shot.
I think I really did.
Rodgers has had it.
He had a great, I was in a great year.
He had a decent year.
He's got to, he's improved a lot.
I think he's ready to be the guy.
Last season, 11 and 5.
They were there.
They had a big mirror.
They after they beat Dallas in Green Bay that night, man.
They kind of started streaking.
Could be a breakout year for Aaron Rodgers.
I think he is going to end up being probably one, two, or three,
best quarterback in the league.
I want to make that.
I think this is the year.
Packers have always had a very tough offensive line.
They drafted offensive line.
Running game needs work.
I didn't think last year they could run the ball,
especially in division.
Minnesota just shut them down.
They just, they really shut them down.
Jared Allen's a beast.
There's a lot of emotion in that game.
They're, yeah, two of them.
They need a big year from Donald and driver.

Barron Pierce, he is a commissioner of a minor league baseball league.

It's an independent unit.
United league baseball.

Formerly Texas was in a baseball league that my father and I and family went to games in Tyler and Al Abelene.
It's really fun baseball.
If you get a chance to catch a triple A or double A or a minor league baseball game, they're really a lot of fun.
I really like when we go up, I've been up to see the the Frisco Rough Riders.
Really?
I mean, it's a smaller stadium.
It's more intimate.
There's more going on.
There's, it's just a whole different atmosphere.
And you'll hear this when we talk about this in the interview.
It's a much more family oriented league.
Exactly.
It's more affordable if nothing.
And the big story come out of his league.
Was that a story we, that we, and I want to think we talked about.

We had Jose Cruz in the league and Ross Grinsley and Helen Ashby and Luch Hobsonate.
Luch was in our league and the tank's closed down the league.
Next year, I heard he'd coached the Boston Red Sox for the previous year or so.

He's probably the biggest player that we've ever had.
Yeah.
He's a guy that, you know, transcends the game.
All the things he's done, books, he's written and stuff.
He's more of a universal celebrity than he is just a baseball celebrity.
Yeah, Coach, I got your text that Jose is on the field.
Question, what is your right now your take and I don't want to get too much,
I want to get off of Jose.
What is a baseball guy like you are?
What is your mindset with Major League Baseball right now with the steroids,
with all these issues?
Do you think you still think it's a great game?
Well, sure, but I mean, you can't let it get to run the baseball.
I tried it too many times before it never worked.
I don't have a take on Major League Baseball.
I have nothing to do to run it minor league.
I like these guys are the 30 biggest Eagles in America.
Yeah, they are.
They don't really care about the game and stuff other than the fact that you make money off of it.
They don't do it just like Jose told me on the way over here, though,
that you know, that they're, they're, I said, as you've been able to feel and you perform
at your high level, they don't care how you get out there.
They don't care what rule you break and, you know, if it's taking steroids,
we'll take them.
Yeah.
But, you know, now, since they've been uncovered and everybody, you know,
was fighting the man home and do this and do that, well,
you know, they've got to change their direction.
But it's just that it's a game of numbers, guys.
We've got to have the people in the stand to make money and they've got to make money
and the other way to get them in there.
It might click baseball as these players get better and better.
It's about father and father.
Well, Coach, let me ask you this.
I know you, we want to promote your leave, but we want to ask you a couple of majorly questions
as well, being a Texas show, you're a Texas guy.
Is all this ranger fever?
Is this thing, could this thing go deep?
Sure.
You know, any, any team, there's been any other team on any killing night.
And it just takes the right chemistry.
It's not like you have a, if you just had all the money in the world
and you can go buy all the best players.
Some of those players don't tell them to get along very well together.
And then you come along with chemistry of a good manager
that knows how to manage the players and, you know, make the right moves and stuff
and add that into the game and strange things happen.
Look at the New York match back in the year they wanted.
Yeah, I'm a brave fan.
They give us fits and all these early 90s.
So, and then, and then, I'll tell you another thing, you know,
you know, a guy like in there with experience, I know him right,
and at least give some advice to the fishing staff out there.
And, you know, we've all this crazy stuff about guys having the next number of pitches
that they've pulled no matter what the game situation is.
You know, you make all these, you have all these different departments that,
and players have to play their specific little roles and stuff.
You know, that's not what it used to be about.
It used to be about putting the best nine on the field and trying to win the game.
I think no one's going to turn it around and get that attitude back out there that,
you know, that's what it's about again, jazz.
It seems to be responding to it.
Yeah, that's one thing here.
You know, it's tough being a, being a ranger fan.
You always think after the all-star break, the bottom's going to fall out any, any moment.
And they've, they've stayed competitive.
I know the starting pitch is kind of, it is what it is.
With the, with, with your league, let's get back to your league.
It's, I, I enjoy it. It's very fun.
What, you know, no one here, back to the Major League Baseball.
I think your, your league, in particular, a lot of the independent leagues in minor league,
it's about, it's about baseball and families and having a good time.
Is that what y'all go out, y'all's way to kind of promote?
Let me give you a little, uh, history lesson here on the Minor League Baseball.
Uh, Minor League Baseball, back in the 50s, used to be just what you described.
It used to be, uh, the players would hire them with the towns and the towns
with, play against each other.
And, uh, if there was a good player, a Major League team would send a scout down.
They might, might buy that player.
Ah, he, Babe Ruth.
Uh, and then it got away from that because television came in,
and, uh, Minor League started to dissolve, and then,
he didn't have, uh, all the different lower class leagues,
and the Major League, uh, began to form their own leagues.
And those are, today call affiliated leagues.
These affiliated leagues at Major League Baseball Loans,
they put the teams in the panels, and then the guy that owns the actual franchise
to run that team in the town, is nothing more than a theater operator.
He just sells popcorn and hot knocks and coats, and the fans come out
and will just an introductory offer.
Yeah.
You hadn't seen the sales manager yet, so.
Yeah.
I believe that one.
I see it next year, if they kept the prices low for the fans.
Yeah.
There's too much money, there's too much money being, uh,
priced around in the, in the big league sports,
to do something selling like that.
They're going to go back to their high-processing.
Yeah.
They have to play these salaries.
That's one, that's one place that keeps that,
that's one reason why it's tough to keep a lot of people out there.
You know, the Rangers want to complain how come they don't sell out,
and don't do this, and don't do that.
Man, when it takes you $100 bill,
just to get halfway through the door, man, it's tough.
It's tough to do that.
Um, well, who we got tonight?

check in, right in the compete and,
uh, step up to the challenge,
but this is pretty good challenge.

Number 10 was a show that was on the air for probably about four years

It had a really good solid run one of my personal favorite shows ever and we're gonna play their theme right now because I have it

We talk so much about that, but good feathers you talk about animaniacs
You talk about it's a cartoon you can watch with your kids and they're entertained
But it's just as good humor wise for the adults

My my father is a very hard person to please, but he is a big fan of Katie kaboom

It is all the entire series is available on DVD. I've got the first two volumes. I'm missing the third one

Washed up pitcher who threw out a bunch of racial epithets
Get sent. He ends up going back to his hometown and becoming the gym teacher at his high school

Season two is about to fire up next month if you knew how season one ended
I'm not gonna tell you go back and watch it
Which means season two is gonna take a completely different turn
So get ready for season two when it comes out next month number seven is a show that was on the air for three seasons of the Fox Network
It's one of two shows on this list that I did not discover until dvd and to this day
I am kicking myself in the butt if you have never seen arrested development

Ancillary characters that you never get to see. Yeah, that's one thing they did do quite a bit of and they did it well

CMT crossroads is what we're talking about if you haven't had a chance to check this out and you have
Paladia, which is a music channel
Check they've they're running these things all the time. That's how I catch them
I really enjoy their work. Yeah, I you know what's good as I said last week
I love the one with maroon five and Sarah Evans. Love the Taylor Swift death leopard. Love the Trace Atkins 38 special

Fan of the former not a fan of the latter. I respect Kid Rock, but I'm not a huge fan

And it's and it's been wildly successful. I mean, they've gotten some but some acts booked on that thing that you know

Arguably some of the best writing on television right now if you can get through the uncomfortableness
It walks the fine line we go back to fx in a show called it's always sunny in Philadelphia

Um to the video involved in the video is the father of to the characters
Very uncomfortable, but if you can if you can get through the uncomfortableness
You won't stop laughing for 30 minutes. It's that simple great show
