I am the executive producer of the clubhouse podcast and it's been a crazy
weekend.
And we're going to talk about that here in just a little while.

I am by myself in the studio.
Chad is on his way to the studio, but if you're here locally in the Dallas
Fort Worth area, it's a storming outside.
It's pretty pretty bad right now.
So we're hoping Chad gets here safely.
So I'm going to be kind of flying solo here for just a few minutes.
We didn't want to hold the show up because if or no are the reason, it's been
three weeks since we did a show.
So we got to get back into the groove here.
We want to thank everybody for sticking with us.

So we had to sign up somebody come out today and fix it.
It's currently about 83 degrees in the studio.
So we've got fans trying to pull out all the warm air and get the cool air back in
here.
But the storming outside is not helping in that process.
So we do apologize if you're hearing any funky line noise in the background.
It doesn't mean there's something wrong with your device or your computer.
It just means we've got some a lot of fans that are working right now.
So there's that.

And it was live from the me Shigan International Speedway.
Give you your top 5, the top 10 finishers I apologize coming in 10th and starting in 17th
in the number 41 Chevrolet.
He was right behind Jamie McMurrey who started in 14th wound up in 9th and the number
on Chevrolet.
The new sheriff in town Austin Dillon and the number 3 Chevrolet starts in 8th and finishes
in 8th.
So you know, what do we know about the Vegas rule?
Break even is a win.
So we got that going for us.
Starting in the bronze medal and winding up in 7th in the number 14 Chevrolet Tony Stewart,
Carl backflip Edwards in the number 19 Toyota starts in 11th, winds up in 6th, Kevin Harvick
and the number 4 Chevrolet starts in 29th, winds up in 5th place.
He's right behind Brad Casalowski and the number 2 Ford starting in 15th and finishing
in 4th place.
The bronze medal today goes from 7th place to 3rd as the number 42 Chevrolet driven
by Kyle Larson finishes the race.
Silver medal in the 24 Chevrolet starting in 10th and finishing in 2nd is Chase Elliott.
And the man of the day is Joey Logano.
He starts at the pole position and he ends up winning the race in the number 22 Ford.

So let's take this where we sit in our standings now.
The odd man out right now, Casey Kane is 11 points back on Ryan Blaney, Ryan Blaney drops
one spot, Casey Kane up one spot.
So he's got an 11 points to gain to take that spot from Ryan Blaney.
Blaney is 5 points behind Ryan newman who takes the place where Blaney was last week.
Jamie McMurray is 152 points out of first place he's in 14th does not move.
Denny Hamlin and Austin Dillon both trade places as Henlon Hamlin drops to 13th Dillon
up to 12.
Dale Learnhard Jr. and Matt Kenseth and 11th intent respectively do not move.
Kyle Busch drops four spots this week to number 9.
He's 109 points out and he's got only 7 points to catch up with Martin Truek Jr.
who was in 9th last week is in 8th this week.

Next week is Father's Day so NASCAR is going to take next week off.
Always found that to be a bit of a conundrum.
You're race of others day weekend but you take Father's Day off against all the drivers.
They have families there father so I guess you got that going for you which is nice for
them for the most part.
There's some great female drivers out there too.
Now we're going to skip a week go straight to June 26th for the Toyota Save Mart 350
at the Sonoma Raceway that'll be on your local box sports 1 affiliate.

Alright Chad it's just arrived at the studio he'll be here just a moment he's getting
settled we're glad that he's here safely he's kind of navigating his way through the
obstacle course that is the the corridor leading up to the studio just getting you filled
in sir got home last night and it was 85 degrees and we didn't get a fix until the
afternoon so that's why there's fans going on everywhere so yeah it was almost as high
as 90 today in the studio so yeah I'll be taking about my 19th shower of the day
probably after the show goes off the air you got here just in time we're just starting
TV talk so Chad's getting himself hooked up right now I'm sure he'll be talking
with us momentarily as he's getting everything set up because that way we're not getting too
far behind all right he does have me let me other side of the desk so we found out
this week that with the CW moving super girl to their network things are
going to some changes are going to go down the rumor is they are she is currently
on earth three we are going to bring her back to earth one and in the first two
episodes they are currently in the in the midst of casting for the role of Clark Kent
so super man will be involved within the first two episodes of season two of
super girl but they're also bringing in Lex Luthor's sister Lina Luthor I read
it this week I don't know what the deal is there I don't know for how that's
going to work in with Peter Fassanelli's character but there's that great news
that the lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin actually found out before I could tell
her Nashville season five is going to be airing on your local CMT of
affiliate so okay I mean they got read it redneck islands I guess this is what
they replaced it with I don't know if this is good if it's going to be the
same time slot or if they're going to be moving it around or we have not gotten
word on that yet as well other interesting news from the CW if you remember
this year on arrow we had an episode where Vix and appeared yes Vix and will
appear on legends of tomorrow but they're recasting the role apparently there's
been some schedule conflicts with the actress that was doing it this year on
arrow do you have me I have you okay good good one of what that's about I
wonder she got another gig full of times I think she was she's feeling something
else they haven't said what it is so she will not be playing the role that's a
shame because she was really good in that part I just that that that episode got a
little punny for me well they had a very animated adventure together because it's
animated web series and Kevin Smith in interview this week he's been doing
a lot of talk in this week apparently he has said that the mall rat sequel is
going to be a 10 episode television series he has also put his hat in the ring
to to direct pretty much any comic property on the planet right now well I
know that flash is asked him back well why not trying to Steven a Mel said he
would love to have him in the writing room or the director's share for any
episode of arrow which as I mean I thought he did a great job I do too I don't
know if it's because of his directing or they just gave him a really good
episode to direct I still can't figure out and so I've been able to find what
his beef is with Guggenheim that's I think that's at the crux of this whole thing
once they get that squared away then I think that we've opened a door for him to
work wherever he wants to within the DC universe but whatever his little
spat that he's having with Guggenheim I really do wish he'd solve it you
are both rather his own benefit and for our benefit because like we said flash
episode rock solid I'd love to see him do arrow especially since he's written
for arrow for God say I'm not for the show for greener for greener what was it
quiver and was that it there were actually two or three storylines he did for
them because I know for Batman he did cacophony in the widening giant but that
wasn't for Batman that was like a side story he was kind of like I wouldn't say
elseworlds but it wasn't in continuity okay but he's written for green arrows
far as sporadic no yeah but you know he wrote for green arrow multiple
story arcs in continuity the entire rebooted the entire arc yes part no he
wrote the whole arc okay okay because I know the quiver was an entire
arc I think there were two or three that he actually wrote so so he
knows the mythos yeah guys comfortable in that skin so let him add it man can we
put spoiler alert I don't know what we're about to say since we're talking about
arrow I realized the other day as I was driving to work with the death on
arrow this year I'm never gonna get to hear him call her pretty bird quote
the very upset about that there's no way that character's gone for good
it's all indications from the writing staff say it is there's no way maybe
her playing that character or something but there's no way that character is
gone she's too big of a part of that story of that character is I mean but
her name is the name that they use in the comics to well but also bear in
mind we have a parallel arts so that can always happen to be parallel or I don't
know any tv talk do you want to do before we move on no that the arrow thing
was the main thing the Kevin being involved in a male wanting Kevin to be
involved and again we want to remind everybody it is stormy very very hard
at the studio right now we've already had the power flicker a couple of
times here the studio we are gonna do everything we can to stay on the air
but if we drop off the air it will be because the power went out because God
decreed it I called Lord wants me back in the green room I called you when I was
about 12 maybe 30 40 minutes out and I asked you is it raining I know it
really wasn't like five minutes after you hung up the phone like sky open
because I saw I had a missed call for me I couldn't check the phone I'm like
I was just seeing where you were I was trying to get a ballpark when you're
gonna be yeah I was I was just about to call you when I got to that where
20 splits off on the 635 and I'm like I also I pair scoped from the studio
for the first time before the show just like everybody was gone so there's
something going on over here behind your house by the way behind my
ass as across the street as in like in that parking lot across the church oh
but people were pulled over like looking down the highway oh so I didn't bother
to look I didn't know if they were if I don't know if a cloud had touched
down or if there's a massive wreck and they were just watching the carnage I
would hope not considering that the church parking lot but
all right let's do a little PO watch I would oh boy I did time this pretty well
didn't yeah yeah yeah right in time for you only you miss was a NASCAR
talk darn that that Lexus I know so much about NASCAR well they're taking
the next week off so okay okay cuz and we wouldn't be able to talk by
anyway cuz next week's money in the bank this is true so so so POI
stands for person of interest it is a segment we do on this show where we take
a person or an entity and we debate their greatness or lack there of it as I
said at the top of the show POI this week I kind of held off giving you any
clues because I said after I got back from something last night I didn't want
to say what that something was but Chad and I both agreed that it would be
tonight's POI so I'm going to send it over to you sir well you really don't need
to send it over to me this is going to be just a group discussion I mean it's
about that it's your POI so I had something else in mind but I put it on the
back burner for now because I don't know where I get a phone call yesterday
hey we had to return which I had to return called you back and like hey what
you doing now nothing goes could you be ready to go to the I love the 90
show in about an hour and a half which we've we've talked about in past weeks
that Charlotte and I were supposed to go but she fell ill yesterday I talked to
her this morning she's doing better good good she's not out of the woods yet
but she is doing better but she said hey can you find somebody that can
take this can take this ticket and I said I will see what I can do I see who
I could then nobody wanted to pick up the phone I could saw see who I could
settle that burden with everybody I called those like voice mail voice
mail voice mail voice mail vote and that was like okay whoever ends up
calling me back first I'm going to keep trying people and then you call
before I was about to make the next phone call I hit the I love the 90's
lottery yesterday so whenever well you know that's no no I
mean overall I mean well we'll break it down but you know when you ask me
that I'm like is water wet heck yeah I mean so we but I at one point I wasn't
so did you call me back because I thought I had one point you had said you
had something going on but I was like now let me call him anyway and see if
it's gone I'm glad you did I'm glad you did because I'm glad we didn't
miss it so we so both of us going from our homes to the other person's
respective home hit a lot of traffic yesterday between this yesterday yeah I
have you I've returned the favor to but we circled the wagons and headed
out to the Verizon you Verizon theater Grand Prairie which is one of the most
acoustic sound buildings in the country by the way capacity 63 50 really yes I
looked at this morning so you were close and that place was filled every seat
almost yes they did from what I understand the majority of these shows are sold
out like I know when you go to their Facebook page their Vegas show is
is booked out I don't know how far in advance oh I'm sure and this thing
runs through October wow yeah so but and it's there there are interchangeable
parts you huh because if you go to their website some of the people that were on
the card we did not see last night they were on our lineup we also know that
some of them are going to be on a different tour that's coming here later this year
right so if you want to go to www dot I love the 90s toward dot com that's their
website there you go you can see you know where it's headed where it's going
in the perspective line-ups for whenever it may get there but it was interesting
hit points I mean it was a blast you definitely let's just let's just put it
out there face value tickets that we paid without all the fees and everything
right it was 25 bucks right which is so come on and there were what six or seven
acts on the bill six I believe it was six so you break that down your
pan like five bucks a group basically yeah taxes and everything I granted some
groups only did two three songs but well and that's really what I want to get to
and also debating the I love the 90s part of it a little bit they should have
just called it I love old school and then I need to find I love retro or something
like that yeah but when you talk about retro that's more like pop or rock
where when you say old school you're talking about R&B hip hop start of the
evening with one of my favorite hip hop artists of of ever the great young MC
or is I like to call him last night not so young MC even though that is his
last name and the idea you'd harvest jersey GP GP was bustle of the only
whole song he did well I didn't even know that that song that he opened but I
don't think that was a full song either though as it was like you could
feel my love or something yeah yeah I want to say that's on this third album
I mean if I had a business I've got the first two albums it might have been the
full track I don't know because I didn't recognize it and it was kind of an
extended version of bustle move I think the theme of the evening was can I
be my own hype man outside of rob base and coolio but we'll get there in a
minute uh young MC very quick set I mean they had what could only be
defined I think we've now found I just realized who that guy was I think we
found the DJ from nitro that's all I could think of but I thought that was
flex wasn't it no that was not flex that guy's flex is a man of size like
Russ is in the chat room good to see you sir that is who I was thinking about all
up in the area is I was just I wanted to make a section in the arena is the route
yes yeah it's the one in my house was nobody's sure that's like I could I
seem like I told you on the way out I could go the rest of my life and here make
some noise and die happy man never hearing anything but you got it we
bit it was because DJ was like we're gonna play a drinking game everybody
time so he says make some noise taking trick we will be drunk by the second
you're the guilty as party in that sir G's you're the one who just say take
two drinks when somebody wants you to say oh you know put your hands up put
you this was a Shelby J show now but honestly I mean we're taking our shots
because I mean but we had a good time we did we really you know what I have paid
a hundred and something dollars at the people paid down on the floor down front
probably not believe it or not I saw so because I went straight to the page as soon
as I got back home okay I went straight to their page and I saw people
commenting somebody yesterday was selling floor level seats for face value at
75 that's still a little rich for my blood but like you said for that for that
many acts for 15 bucks an act if if you got the money to burn then I think
you you'd have a and especially if you go with a bunch of people that grew up
with you that maybe I went to school together are you you know spill the same
blood in the same mud kind of thing I had my base side tigers t-shirt on which
I represent which I totally didn't get the reference because I don't watch
that show um because I even had to look at it for a lot of my business was this
we're eating it was just but it started in 89 and it went to 94 so I would say yeah
okay after a young MC I decided I needed to go make sure the rest room is
meant current health was it after a young MC or was it after because I don't
color me bad was that's right there's where we get we jump the track so color me
bad came second well 75% of color me bad did you ever do the research because
I forgot oh I did okay so we were missing the Kenny G look at the Kenny G guy
with the guy that had the real curly hair so what did we find out why was
he not there he is a very successful record producer in his own right and if I'm
I probably should have well I just not got my computer up and running I wish I'd
had this up and ready to go by the time I got here but one of them is Mary
to American Idol winner to my regree really and one of them is a minister at a
local church in Fort Worth I think that's the guy that's the teacher in
the dark we got pretty sure that's who that is the MC snow looking guy but
see I think this shocked you more than it shocked me because I saw him on a VH1
we are they now and again small margin for error here given present
company right but one can honestly say maybe he thought himself go a little bit
well it got to the point where he had put on so much weight that he needed a
walker to get around and apparently he's been in some legal trouble really yeah
he's been around he runs a tire shop in Oklahoma yeah I was actually talking
to my dear cousin and friend of the show might craft and he actually mentioned
I'm calm what's up and he said yeah he runs a tire shop in Oklahoma said
did you and Rob watch the same TV show you probably did that's exactly what
Rob said we probably did but when they came walking they came walking out you
could literally hear half the arena going oh but you know what I was fully
prepared for that I had no clue I was but then there was that awkward moment
where they were about they that's why I thought Cleo is next was remember he
originally said it was going to be coolia but then he said no I got wrong
information I was going to be color me bad but then color me bad it wasn't
ready to take the state because maybe it was in their rider I don't know
and MC Twister whatever was getting ready to go up on stage and whoops
somebody behind yes somebody give me that right freaking playlist there and
then he couldn't get his headphones right or something oh he couldn't get his
mic to come on at one point like he's yelling to the crowd he was pointing
at his earphones at one point and it was pointing to the sound guy like
raising his arms I mean that turned me up because he's talking in the
microphone he would make and let's just go ahead and just put all you said
that there were technical problems in this deal there was feedback whatever
there was feedback in a couple of points the video work was shot at best yeah
which thank god that the people on stage couldn't see the video footage because
I think it would have distracted them because I thought everybody overall it
was a good show yeah would make me kind of laughing over the details I
already y'all know who's coming next they're already showing their logo on the
screen on this yeah we kind of figured that out and when they were only two
acts left it's like look we've got a 50 50 shot of you know it ain't gonna be
salt and pepper so elimination but color me bad color me sad which is what you
called it I again I was fully prepared for that so that it didn't hit me as
hardest it hit you what amazed me about that set was when they went into
no dignity and it took you a minute to figure it out because I couldn't figure
why the heck they were doing it because I'm looking at you like is it that's
one of your karaoke staples and I'm looking at you like dude this is about
to happen and I'm like okay not your song but okay but there was quite a
bit of that last day when the first ones to do they were the first ones that's
why I'm feeling like it like we're gonna get to offer one here in a minute but
if if all for one had gone first and done what they did when calling me bad
didn't win them in his jarring because at least come to the least all for one
acknowledge that they were going you got you got um all for love taking down two
steps I'm so glad I found that these are gentlemen he's not why I wish
how then we got no dignity and then we got I adore me a more which I have
very specific memories of that song but when they brought out the roses
that if if you're just like okay no they're not that if garbage wasn't the
cheap pop the roses were the cheap pop so let's just be honest we're not in the
box trap club by the quantro in front of us but but again it didn't it didn't
jar me that bad because I was prepared for it you know what I mean like I was
ready for this to happen that's a sit Mikey a picture of I want to say his
name is Brian Abrams that's that's no that's the guy that I said I said
bad that will refer to these guys as other people because I told me I
didn't find what I'm back then it was George Michael I need you know I blame
be this in but okay that is who did it that is who did it I said it was not
group with canny james I sent Mikey a picture of Brian Abrams that's the
picture in question by the way he looks rough his heck and Mikey responds and I
put what do you mean go to girl's clothes Mikey wow because it looks like
one of the cladies and she looks like he's screaming and Mikey's going you have
to sing this to the tune of I want to sex you up in your head go you know I'm
hooked on food we can eat and do we both wake up all hate mail to chat at the
clubhouse podcast calm I was I was like I think I just woke up the people on
either side of me laughing my butt off at that but I thought that they did a good
little set there they finished of course with I want to sex you up which may have
gone a little longer than it should have like if it was two seconds long because
with those guys you're like please don't offer that out of the body but you
know they did the choreography they did the choreography sir one of them did no
two of them did because Brian was just off the discuss he leads the songs
of the choreography so that's what I was like okay I'm going to run to the
restroom and grab something to drink real quick because there was so much
time between young MC you're not striking a set it was just a day one
even Mike stands until two acts later expender relis laptop was on the
fricking DJ stand from the get go she was ready to go and they were last
so what I would find out is that the house lights would never come up because
Julio was next and I'm gonna let you fill in the gap because I came back I was a
little upset yeah I was bummed that you weren't there because he comes out with
all the way live with some big fan of her he does about I want to say he
didn't do the whole song because let's face it that was pretty much the trend of
last night then he said ways right I mean didn't miss a beat goes right into
fantastic boys for one for one verse like that was the song that put you on the
map right and then it ends with like a boom thunder clap type thing echoing
thunder clap he's got his fist in the air lights go down lights come back up
and they're all purple and I think you know where we're going from here with the
symbol on the video screen right his because he comes to shocking had a guitarist
and a drummer who may have been playing the rock band we're not real sure
but for I mean for it's like they picked up those electronic drums out of
guitar center on their way to the theater but still they're the only hip-hop group
that brought instrumentation it's fair point it's fair point I mean you know
coolio you really don't expect to have a live band behind him it's a fair point
so I was impressed with that if nothing else oh fills in the chat room what's
up Phil good to see your brother um but his guitarist I live fills in the
chat room because then we're about to talk about in a minute directly
relates to him okay his guitarist starts playing the you know the the
refrain and the engine he goes into the end of purple rain okay and
and culeo is basically giving his shoutouts to all the people that we've
lost in the bed and like he's very nice gave a shoutout to Kimbo slice you
know you know Ali you went back to Whitney you know he was you know all the
people that we lost but you could tell specifically it was targeted at Prince
but and I got all worked up over it like I kind of had to compose myself and
then I came out I guess right after that all happened and you're like what did I
miss I'm like of all the time so you didn't need to go to the bathroom and get
a press off you and kid you was so bummed you missed it because then he went
into he did a little one he did very very one verse of one two three four
something new something new yeah and then of course you know he did all of
gangsters paradise which I get it but if he's gonna do all of one song that might
be farther down the list for me you think so I would have taken fantastic
voyage one two three four given the social climate to hot would have been a
really because that talks about safe sex and things like that I want to say
that and plus that song is such a downer well but it's it's like it's it's if
if coolio has a purple rain she and says a little as well so Shannon if
coolio has his own purple rain it's probably gangsters paradise right but
again you I wouldn't do that as a closer well it's you know what I mean it
may arguably be his most successful big it probably was one that got the most
right but it's such a downer song oh no I wish with fantastic voyage or
finish with one two three four I'd have been okay with that I would got
probably go with fantastic voyage before I'd go with one two three four because it
was so big at this point we slapped the thing enough to high gear because
the house lights don't come up again almost until the headline yeah I think
yeah so after that came all for one which kind of an odd placing for me after
coolio but all for one in the final analysis of the show strongest set of
the night well I think they're tied okay it's your opinion because of who came

actually seen all for one before I saw them as part of a like I think it's
but why is it super fast or something coolio I think I've seen but Rob
base Rob base and kidn play were the main two reasons I was there and some
people would look at Rob base's set and say he didn't really do anything but
what you don't understand is Rob base's performances he's he is his I mean
he has a guy with him but he's kind of his own hype man he's just gonna go
out there and have a good time he's shut the end play we got all of join
pain we got a little bit of get up you heard him tea's get on a dance
floor didn't you yes I was like seriously okay and I would have liked to have
heard turn it out go base but that second album did so horribly which it's
and it's a great album the incredible base is a good album but by old school
90s hip-hop standards yeah it was kind of weird because you know each
group had like a little intro song they played or whatever and his actually
started with it dude about now and you're like no and it got all the way up to
the hit it and then he went to something else and then he of course you knew
he was gonna close with it takes two and that place came on glue on glued
I actually filmed a little bit of it of that song and you see it here the
crowd just mark out like whatever so you're filming I kind of backed away from
you because I didn't want people here me doing the songs because I figured
that was gonna happen I mean they just did it for the crowd reaction because I
would get I would film like maybe 20 seconds that place came on glued and the
cool thing about the the the acts they were actually encouraging people to
make pictures and film because they wanted like well yeah all for one was like
please put about our people to it so I'm like man that's cool and then
song pepper came out and they were the headliners of course I think it's
weird that you have to say song pepper and spin to relive because it's not
song pepper without spin but I get it there's they played an hour they
played the longest of anybody with their headliners that makes sense right it was
a weird set for me because because I look at you in one point and I'm like it has
the life been sucked out of this room I that was a drop off because I think I
think with their their song selection they were playing stuff that weren't
radio hits like if you had the albums you knew songs if you didn't if like if
you just went out and bought the singles or list of stuff on radio you
knew the bulk of what they were playing but as soon as they did I'll take your
man or tramp yeah tramp I had gotten radio airplane I don't know for about an
hour and a half me I just remember here I think it was like the track right
after a big a big radio hit off of a salt with a deadly pepper right or was
that off of she's the DJ I know no no no you're thinking of he's the DJ
on the rapper I'm pretty pretty yeah whatever whatever push it was off of I
can't think of anything the album right as it's salt and peppers magic or
blacks magic or something like that that was one of their albums that was
after assault with the dead okay but I think anyway anyway it was like it was
it was it was a follow-up to one of the big radio hits so I got used to
hearing tramp and I listened to it a lot and I think I take your man was the
same well I think I would have rearranged that set a little bit because they
did what a man chup and push it on a row like quickly and I was like maybe
space a little bit yeah yeah because they did let's talk about sex they
didn't do none of your business which is what the girls and the parking
are listening to we got to the guitar started but I thought for me good Lord
somebody's calling you from a salt and pepper standard it was a little
substandard for me but I think overall a great show I just think it could
be like a co-headliner or yeah a couple a couple of these artists maybe
play a little bit longer sets yeah I would have liked but overall if this
thing comes to your town go yeah it was so much fun I mean I'm glad I got to
go I glad you got to go but I'm bummed Charlotte didn't get to go we had so much
fun last night it really was a blast I could see this being a really good outdoor
amphitheater show as well I think Lou actually saw it outdoors in Arizona earlier
this summer to me that makes more sense this just seems I know salt and
pepper were there but I don't know what's the same thing it just seems like
