Speaking of things in May, our good friend of the show John Halter on his way back from
the Memphis Barbecue Festival which we've missed again.

I'm not sure what's going on but that race is going to be next week.
I believe on your local Fox affiliate, yes it will be.
It's a night race because Indy takes place during the day, the Coca-Cola 500 will take place
in the evening.
It's going to be at six Eastern on your local Fox affiliate because we're getting into
that time of year where it's NASCAR and Baseball.

People were saying it's he going to be courted a replace Ferguson.
McHale's come out and said, no, that was just we hang out on a party.
You know, he runs CBS.
He's a Viacom network.
It's the same thing.
So just calm down people.

How I met your mother rap party or something.
I don't know.
I think it had been.
I think you'd be a greater replacement.
But he's so good on the soup.

What I was in high school, I remember it well as my sophomore year when Twin Peaks
became a show on ABC and I was fascinated until season two.
But still.
Wow.
It wasn't now this week that it's going to be released on Blu-ray in July with a lot of
brand new features on it.
So if you're a Twin Peaks fan or your David Lynch fan, or you just like people saying
that's damn good coffee, then that's going to say she hates you in July.
If your fans of finding ears and fields, we'll see.
I love that first season because the way they crafted the who killed Laura Palmer
story, I thought was great.
And then they revealed it and you went, here's a question.
I remember you got into season two and you're like, this really makes no sense.
That's David Lynch for you though.
But it was two David Lynch.
Two David Lynch.
Like it was him just going way too far in my personal opinion.
I'm just saying.
Like if you sat through Dune.
Well, there's another version of Dune.
Well, a way to watch on Blu-ray, that documentary.
As we talked about last week on the show, ABC has set an order out for Agent Carter.
The spin-off from Agents of Shield dealing with Peggy Carter, who was in the first
Captain America movie and dealing with the formation of shield and things of that nature.
Right now, ABC has given it an 8 or 8 episode order.
So they're kind of being cautious.
I'm interested.
Because we're going to get the whole background on Shield.
And if you've seen Captain America with a winner soldier, or you've been following
Agents of Shield, and you know what's going on there, you really need some backstory.
At, you know, and the debate raged on this week of comparing the arrow season finale to the Agents
of Shield season finale.
Both very good, but Oliver Queen gets the edge for me.
That arrow season finale was amazing.
She see what tricks it.
Yeah.
There was no such thing as two David Lynch.
I don't know.
Watch the second season of Twin Beaks and we can talk about it.
There are varying degrees of David Lynch.

And it came out last week.
No pun intended that Michael Sam drafted by the Louis Rams.
There were going to be that Oprah's own network was going to be doing a
Docu series about him.
There were some people that were like, hey, can you kind of back that off a little bit?
Can we get him through the normal training camps first?
And so they've postponed the Docu series.
And from what I've been told and what I've read, they weren't going to be allowed
in the Rams facilities anyway.
Now, Michael, you hear the same things I just heard.
It's what I heard as well, but they started this project prior to him getting picked
up by the end of the film.
They did this like, I believe it was.
Talk right into that.
I think so.
I believe they started the process during his college.
His last year's college.
So it was going to be drafted.
But did they be started after he announced that he was gay?
Yeah.
Because that would have been right after this season.
And so they kind of followed him through the process.
But they're going to postpone any more footage until they know.
And Jeff Fisher respectful.
He just said, look, we're going to treat him just like we treat everybody.
Yeah.
You know, and if you're going to look for a guy that's really going to give him a legitimate
shot, I think Jeff Fisher's that guy.
He's one of, he's one of a few.
There's some other coaches up there.
I think that would give him a shot as well.
But you're right.
It's good fit.
And I think that if he doesn't make the Rams, I don't think there's going to be a lot of just
to fight kickback because of who Jeff Fisher is.
Right.
As a guy, because he's a great coach.
He's a great guy.
I'm looking forward to kind of.
Mon, I'm not going to monitor it real close because, you know,
you know, I really don't really get into NFL until things start to count.
But, you know, I'm going to say it right now.
It's either going to be the Rams or the Browns that are going to get hard knocks.
One of those two teams will have hard knocks and we'll see how that works out.

The question becomes is will there be more players that follow suit on that?
And does the new commissioner who yes does look like an alien?
Is this going to be a trial by fire for him because a lot of people thought he handled
it originally well, but if this dominos, because this is a private company, it's not like
you can tell him he has to sell it.
Although the NBA has said they will disenfranchise the clippers who might already be disenfranchised
as we know it.
Mikey, I will defer to you your opinions on what's going on right now with the clippers.
I don't think he's going to be an owner of much longer be honest with you.
I think if the NBA owners get a 3-force vote, he won't be an owner of much longer.
And his wife is trying to hold on to her share too, but that's the thing.
She doesn't have a share, but here's the thing.
She needs to keep quiet because she's just as guilty in some of these categories as he is.
And some because in the past, when there was the scandal about them and the discrimination
and the apartment buildings they owned, she was part of that.
Yeah, she would show up as a fake health inspector allegedly, actually not even allegedly,
it's on video.
They've got video proof of that.
Yeah, I don't think it'll be an owner much longer, especially if he doesn't pay to find other than that.
Everything else could be expected.
I think if he paid to find, he might have a shot of being an owner.
I think there's so much pressure going up against him that he's there's not going to be much of a choice.
I mean, his own players have already said that they're not going to play for him.

And I think this people think the solidarity of this bleeds into the other teams too.
That you're going to have other teams that are going to go no offense to you,
but we're not playing at this guy's in the lead because we can't play in a lead with a guy like this.
This is going to get weirder, but on a more positive note, the conference finals are on first draw.
It's first blood has been drawn by the Indiana Pacers today as they beat my beloved heat by 11.

finals Oklahoma City at the San Antonio Spurs and Mikey broke me some news just a little while ago
before we went on air that may affect this series.

three of my prediction of them dominating the conference for five years.
So, you know, but then again, you look at the spurs I've said it before. I'll say it again average
age of this team is 97 years old. And they look 30. Yes, I don't. Maybe pops got the found
of youth that we just don't know it could. By the way, game 2 for the heat and patience is going
to be on the ESPN. It's on the Espen. Yeah. Okay. It'll be on the Disney family of
net. I want to throw something out there. I was saying, please do. Please do.

and because he's like 69 and looks like 280. Could could he play some defense?

Point taken. I'll just say it. All right. Let us move on and do a little thing. We like to call
POI on this show. POI stands for a person of interest. Is where we take a person or an entity
or in this case an event and we debate their greatness or lack thereof? Now gentlemen,
you may not have much input on this particular segment as Chad and I do, but please feel free
to ask questions if you have them as we go along. We kind of alluded on last week's show that
yesterday being Saturday was going to be kind of a long day for us. It was time-wise,
a long day, but from an entertainment value standpoint, not nearly as long as I thought it was
going to be a great friend of the show, former guests on the show were hoping to get him back soon.
We weren't going to try for it today because the brothers are going to need to sleep for about a
day and a half. Devin Pike texted me a couple of weeks ago and he said, hey man, we're doing this
thing during Dallas Comic Con, which was this weekend for those of you not in the Dallas Fort
Worth area. And we're doing a big party on Saturday night and I need some help. I need a stage man
drinking a handle it. I was like, sure, I got you back, dude. And so he asked if I knew
something that would help do some roadie work and I knew Chad was available. So yesterday he and I went
over to Gilly's Dallas at about 130 in the afternoon and we were there. It's about 130 in the
morning. Putting together and helping execute the Dallas Comic Con Saturday night, Shindig.
Let me go, I want to do it before to you first sir. What were your feelings going in?
Like what, and what was in your head in your Quebec sack as we were going into this thing?
I had my doubts on the turnout. I wasn't sure how game people were going to be after walking
around at a con all day. And let's be honest, the Dallas Comic Con, this is the biggest
one ever. Uh-huh. It took up at least two full exhibition halls at the Dallas Convention Center.
This thing was a beast and Chad and I have been going to these things for about 12, 13 years
every day, 14 years when they were just at a place called the Plano Center, which is probably the
size of my house. And now it's turned into this huge deal. So please feel free to go for it.
Yeah, I was like, I know how gasped we would get just walking around on the convenience floor,
even when it was just at the Plano Center. How many people are going to be dog tire about
the time they walk around that Dallas Convention Center? Because that place is massive. And also
shout out to the people at Gilly's who were absolutely amazing. Yes, Chris and Dave the Sound
made my life as a stage manager so easy. No joke. Like it was just like, hey, yeah, we're good.
We got it. Okay. We'll move on. Like there was no-
Did they ever say no or can't do that? No, never. There were just- sometimes it would take
him a couple of minutes. Okay, let me see if I can figure out how to do this, but they were always
honest. It was- the execution was flawless by these guys. Yeah. Um, for me going into it
because especially with the sound check perspective, things went so smoothly. Mm-hmm. Everybody
was on point. We had like an hour and a half to kill between the last sound check and when doors
opened. Wow. So we're just like, mm. Okay. Yeah, well, coincidentally enough, our last sound check
was- Oh, yeah, for the chat room is triggered mortist who did a great job. There were three
bands and three DJs and they altered back and forth. So you can see how from a sound check perspective
this could get weird. But it didn't. Everybody got their stuff done, got hooked up, got sound check.
Perfectly everything was settled. Uh, you know, Devon was busy moderating panels.
And so we were kind of having the tap dance a little bit going in because he got caught up there
and he kind of asked me to be him by proxy. So I said, okay, we're- here's some- some people
asking me questions. We're going to make some decisions. We're going to get this thing rolling. We
stocked the green room. Uh, had a great, great time. And then as the moment got closer to 730 when
the door is open. The way the room we were in, there was an entrance if you're looking at the
stage, there was an entrance to the left of the stage and there was- how long was that hallway?
Probably 75 yards. Oh, gosh. I mean, it- it- it looked like an ambush spot. Yeah. I mean,
it just went- you had walls on either side of you that went all the way from the door to the street
and it was like the link of a building. Yeah. And- and this corridor that you were- and then the
doorway itself was probably 78 feet wide. Yeah, it was like four people- I put it this way.
Because I'm speaking from experience. Four people wide, okay? So, picture? Yeah, about- and no windows.
Yeah. Yeah. So a 75-yard. So brick tunnel, basically, with no- with no ceiling on it,
that went about 75 yards out. So at the end of that is where the line began. So we couldn't really
see how many people were waiting. So some of the young ladies, uh,
names of the roundtable had their live webcast at a great job. Good friends of ours now.
They brought all the badges of people that had main reservations. And it was a box.
And I- I probably would tell you, what would you say? 8-5-5-5-7, like it was a big, very good-sized box
of all these badges. People had- Take a box of copy paper, cut in half and stand it on its end.
Yeah, it's about how big this box was. And the list of people who had already pre-registered
for the- for the Shindig with six pages long. Wow. Front and back. So we open up the gates at 730.
Front and back. Two hours later. Two hours later. The line is still all the way down to the end
of- of the breezeway. And obviously going around the corner, we couldn't see how far around the corner.
It went. So a lot of people. They packed that room. Of course, all the cosplayers were there.
My favorite cosplayer of the night. And I'm going to say it. Mikey, you're going to love this.
There was a dude dressed as show enough from the last dragon. To show Gunnar Farlo. I could not have been
happier. But at one point. Yes. I'm sitting on this whole thing. We get it up and running.
Devon still hasn't gotten there. So I just kind of said, okay, I'm going to go ahead and get things
started. Devon will be here for too long. We're going to be fine. And he got there. And things were
rolling. I mean, it was rolling. Sitting in the green room. And Chad comes and tells me this.
Said, my night just got made. And he's like, how's that? So what does it girl? The girl out there
that's dressed just like Chun Lee from Street Fighter. And there's a guy that's dressed just like
Beaker. That wasn't a dude. I don't think it wasn't. Oh, okay. Okay. But Chun Lee started grinding
on Beaker. Exactly. I'm like me sorry. I was like, I don't know if I'll see anything
that I could blow my mind more than that. Now that you're telling me that Beaker might have
been a chick. And I was wrong. There's a dude there. There wasn't. We found another rock layer.
There was live band karaoke that was all punk with a great band called The Mumbles that
were amazing. There was a cosplay band with I think that was their first live show in front of
people, if I'm not mistaken, called the IG88. Great band. Frozen Phoenix who was part of the IG88
did a DJ set, a friend of ours in the room, trigger mortise came up and just tore the house down
with her DJ set. And then closing the night was Capiton Fantastic. And notice, I don't have
the run sheet in front of me. I had all those off the top of my head. Pretty much had to. I'm taking
that to my. Now I want up creative mind frame open the show, little nerd core. It was the energy
never let down. It was absolutely amazing. I love one of my final fantasy girl. That was a song.
That happened. It was all rap. I mean, and this dude was like mixing in all these 80s, 90s,
pop culture. I just don't nerd references. Old friend from sports city, Kevin get a white
was bartending in the VIP area. I didn't even work there so I could see an old friend for a while.
And trigger says Baker totally was a chick. I'll be darned. Because I thought I saw that later.
That was like, that just got interesting. I think Chad made this a meeting. I missed it.
Gender. It was. I thought I was good at that. Words cannot express. There were other. There was
a JJ Pierce was having their prom in the big Gilly's room. There was another party right next to
the room we were because Gilly's has expanded into multiple party rooms. The old number seven room
huge. And there was a there was some kind of a teachers party next door. It looked like farm day at the
UN. It was very strange. There were. We owe that. Somebody gets credit for that. I can't remember who said that.
But I was going to guys from the mumbles. I'm pretty sure. And it looks like there were just like,
I don't know. It was one of the guys that worked there. Yeah. It was something there was a bunch
of like a big farm set. But there were like international flags and it was very strange. At one point,
one of the girls from that party tries to come in our side door. She goes,
your party's cooler than my party. I mean, you're, you're, you kind of expect,
you halfway expect the worst because you really don't know how there was a huge amount of the
unknown going into this. And I will tell you, my legs feel better today than they did last night.
I sat in the car and was like, what's your paper Jesus? Oh my God. And I thought because we went back
and went to the convention today and walked the floor a little off. Sock friend of the show,
Brent Peoples doing very, very well. Some of the sketches he had. God, that did it's good.
And I was like, there's no way. It's right next to the TV. Yeah, we saw that one colored. No,
up, up, up top. No one Brendan. Oh, wow. The band's got color. He had a color. Yeah. It looked great.
And I was like, how are we going to walk this floor? And I woke up in my legs fell okay. I'm like,
all right. And it was like, right when we were going out of the can now, I was like, okay. Now,
I was starting to feel like now need to go. But the Saturday night's shindig,
much love to Devon for even asking us to be a part of it first of all.
Secondly, nothing but love and respect to every person that was on that stage, every person that
came through that door, everybody had an amazing, amazing time on both sides of the stage.
I haven't laughed that much in a long long, because every, I mean,
everybody had, it was just witty. Oh, I love Devon's reaction whenever he saw trigger come out in
her in her costume. I don't know. I was, he fell out. He fell out. And Devon, if you hear this
anytime soon, brother, you have more than earned the credit and respect you deserve. Get plenty
of rest, because you have more than earned it. I'm ready to do it again. Not tomorrow.
I got to, I got to get rested back up. But an amazing time, if you get the chance,
when it's done again, do yourself a solid. Gilles, an amazing presentation.
There was no downside to this thing from now. Outside of my leg screaming in my feet screaming
by the time we got the car. As exhausted as I was, I'm like, let's just get through this. Let's
just get through this because I'm so tired and then it was over. I'm like, I really wish I had to
gone on another. Every, I mean, all by all accounts, everybody had amazing costumes. There was a
lot of people there that were, you know, there were some vendors there that were selling their
wares. Somebody brought one of their full-size Yoda. It didn't look like Docs because it didn't have
the same ride. It was the episode one Yoda. But we had a great time. I can't say enough good

York. Well, Jimmy Fallon has said, no. You're going to do that on a tonight show. So they're going
to have the drum-off on the tonight show on May 22nd, which is this Thursday. And Chad said,
interview, he said, well, he'd better be practicing up, because you know, I'm ready to go and
Will goes, no, I haven't practiced at all. You can't get John C. Rowling involved in this somehow.
Well, he's too busy doing Uncle Grandpa. So, but still, you know, as anybody I've seen this
frame of the show Steven Zimmerman told me about this cartoon called Uncle Grandpa. And if you
watch it, he looks like if you took acid and then watch the John C. Rowling movie, that's what
he looks like. It's got the same visual style as it ventured time. I think it's done by the same

for possible employment opportunities. But nobody's reaching out because nobody knows. Well, some of them
know better. Nobody knows what their if they're ever going to return to the impact zone because there's no deal in place for that.
Because remember that building is what they're trying to pitch the WWE for their whole fame. Right.
And there's no new TV deal in place yet. Wow. And this isn't like with the WWE thing where I won't
were negotiating with NBC universe. No, there's no deal in place in my personal theory is that
Viacom was holding them at arms length until the NBC WWE deal went through because the rumors was
that WWE had reached out to them to maybe go back to spike TV if the universal deal had fallen through.
So now Viacom has this well, do we go ahead and re-sign them or do we just do without?
Because Bellatory Gary and you just say, you know, we talked about AMC picking up Chris Hardwick's
all celebrity bowling deal earlier. They have also picked up Billy Corrigan's resistance
pro wrestling reality series. So the Eric Cartman of alternative music is going to have a show.

Yeah, but product demonstrations are work cool because we would have people at the universe who they had special shirts
That said product demonstrator and they were responsible for certain departments and they would come on the stage
And different times of the day and they would do full-blown demos

I like what EA did with the madden kiosk last year. It looked great, but

I mean how many times lately have you gone into a retail store and not been able to find someone to ask a question right?
Or it's the exact opposite you know what you're looking for and they're hovering around you like
Vultures. There's the doesn't seem to be a middle ground
You know when I worked retail. I would say hey, is there anything looking for you just looking to look
I'm just looking like okay, my name's Rob. I'll be over here if you need me. We're good
I'm not gonna chew it on you, but you know I'm here. Yeah, I've recognized you. I've greeted you
Made you understand that you're a valuable customer and let me know what you need them over here
You need to get that anymore
And it just makes me sad number two competitive pricing
We do not live in a world where 18 dollars for a CD is acceptable
Not anymore
Because I want to say something when I want a new CD
I'm gonna go look at iTunes and I'm like I went to the store the other day looking for the for a brand new album
And I was like I
Think there's a deluxe version of this out there and I went to iTunes and there's a deluxe version out there
And let's five bucks cheaper than the store had it
Went to and I know that went to Amazon. I got home. It was a couple of hours cheaper than that, but I'll deal with it
Be competitive
Mall pricing is not an object anymore
Because the competition is so stiff out there and that's not just for electronics. It's for anything
We were at the Comic Con today and you're gonna tell me two t-shirts for $45 as a deal
You can go pound sand
Because I guarantee you I can go online when I get home and get both of those shirts for a third of that
You know I'm saying wow yeah, what chat
There was a place that was selling pop culture robes that were beautiful robes
Beautiful Terry cloth robes deal two for a hundred whoa
Slow your roll speed racer
Be competitive and number one product knowledge
Just like Mikey was saying earlier product knowledge know about the things you're selling
Don't go you know you're gonna have somebody work in a department selling televisions and you want to go so
For the room that I've got you know, what's a good sell?
Don't you never need to know more about the product than I what let me rephrase that you
You should know more about the product than I do when I come in there and but and on that level
There's a certain amount of forgiveness as far as I'm concerned because have a clue right that's all
I'm one of those guys that does the homework
But I'm not every man, you know like I've actually told guys look
I know what I'm looking for when I find it I'll come get you because you greeted me
It would be an easiest sale. You'll make all day. Yeah, just let me do what I do
You know, but now I'm not everybody
When people come to you and they've got questions and that's really in any any job
You know whether what's what Mikey does for a living Mikey knows his rec centers inside and out
So somebody comes to him and says what is this facility have? Mikey knows that
Somebody goes to Andrew it has a question on on a website he's created or a training
Package that he's done you know it because you do it because that's what you're paid to do exactly

Yeah, and that's how you learn. Yeah, and that made me go to other vendors and go
Well, they said there's can do this can yours do it and if not what can yours do what there's can't
Yes, you know when I was I was selling karaoke equipment in the karaoke studio
I knew every machine and what it could do and what it couldn't so when somebody came to me and said
I want to do karaoke in my home
And I would tell them straight up
I'm gonna I would like to sell you what I know that you'll need for for what you're doing versus what you think you need
Because if you want to buy a $5,000 system
I'll sell to you got a problem with it
But for what you want to do
This $700 machine is gonna do you better and it's gonna work better and then people will give me like I'm crazy like
Why would you do that?
Because if you buy a $5,000 machine and you get it home and you realize it's not what you want
I don't want you returning it, right? I would rather you buy the $700 machine and keep it forever and ever never
Me and then I don't have to deal with return exactly and they may come back and buy something else
Yeah, no no your product because that gives you repeat customers
And I think we're losing that with all of these chains gobbling everything up
Just something I was thinking about this week
It's a viable argument everything you said is a very very valuable argument
Anything anybody wants to add for we wrap this thing up?
You know I could be the people that work at these stores just need to be more like the people with the buy more
Hey, then they would love their job
I'm on board basically we just want them to know everything better know your product know your customer
And actually you care yeah, yeah, but you do or not
Completed about that the break I mean what what is one of the first things they teach you in that line of work is you always treat every customer
Like they are the first customer you've seen that day because they don't know that you had a cruddy day that you're
You know your hot water pipe busted and blah, blah, blah, blah and you didn't get to take it
