And it's one that I don't know gets talked enough about

No, that could be part of it, but there is a
It's happens in a couple of instances
Where I've been where one of them is a local buffet chain
Where I go up and I put my order in and it asks me do you want a tip? Sure, let's tip there
And then they give me the cash out of a till and then I'm supposed to leave that on the table
But it also happens in certain places
That I don't know
It's a weird concept to me because to me a tip or a gratuity
Is should be based on the service I get and I worked in the in the restaurant industry for many many many many years
And I feel like tipping in advance
It's kind of cheating
Because I'm tipping in anticipation of a level of service
See, but I think that part of what you have and correct me if I'm wrong. Are you referring to Luby's?
No, okay, Luby's does the same thing, but the way they do it is you essentially pay for them to give you cash out of the till
That's what this place does, but you're not required to leave that amount. Yeah, but there's a there's a
implied guilt involved with that
If you have a soul, fortunately, I don't have that issue and and and some of the things like the insta cart for the groceries
You can change now you can go back after the fact Uber insta cart. It says do you want to tip in advance
But you can also change it after the fact
So on those I let it put it standard thing in and then I'll adjust accordingly
See, I still wouldn't say no, I don't want to tip advance. I'm gonna tip afterwards
Well, you have to do a minimum tipping at least on the insta cart. You have to do a minimum
Door dash has the same kind of thing where they're like hey, how much of a tip do you want to ask? It's like um, maybe zero and get your
But see every time I've done Uber Uber eats it asks me after the fact
Well, no, I'm not saying just with those I'm saying on the insta cart they require because that's the money
They go straight to the driver and that's how they can pay them the two whatever per hour versus full is they can say well
They've gotten a tip on every single one
That's shady it is shady because if you're gonna tip me in advance

Outside of like you said having a soul
What motivation do I have as a server to give you good service?
Well, that's why I'm saying in that aspect is if it really bothers you that you got money out of the till to give to them
And you get bad service. Don't give them the money
But again, I can't in good conscience do that. That's my problem
Like I've already got this cash
Here see and I feel like for me it balances out because when it comes to gratuity
You're already starting with a clean slate and a full 20% minimum
Unless you irritate me or you do a poor job
Then I drop it down to maybe at most 15%
But I've also been known to go up if there's good service
Just because I get money out of the till means no bearing to me on how your service is
I'm still gonna tip you because I know you need it
But the amount I'm going with depends on you. I would rather do it. I would rather do it when I pay the bill at the end
Oh, I a hundred percent agree now, but I'm not gonna take you out of buffet
You can't do that. It's a little strange
But also at a buffet

Just tip your server
Or you could say
We've run your card
Here's your receipt
Leave this slip on the table with your tip
Because they got your money either way
Because there's no way you could make somebody pay at the end
You have so many walk tabs that would be insane. I get why they do that
But it used to be with the cafeterias that you would pay at the end
difference is in a cafeteria and a buffet
The cafeteria you're getting enough for that one trip
Where has with a buffet you don't have a register at the end of every section of the buffet
Right, but what I'm saying it well, but the
Furs we used to I think it was furs or lubis or whatever
It was you went through the line you got your food they gave you
The slip for what you got which this would all be based off the buffet price and to get to the exit you had to go past a cash year
So they could set it up to where you pay at the end. You know, there's it there is it about Vegas

There is a buffet that I go to locally that does that

Only one time did I ever not actually tip at a restaurant and the manager backed me on it
Um the girl basically was rude dismissive and completely ignored us

I will always tip a minimum 15%
Even on bad service. Yeah, if I have bad service. I'm gonna calculate 15% and I'll also base is it bad service because of the person themselves
Or was the bad service because the kitchen was backed up and in that case
That's not getting taken out of the service pocket because it's not their fault

I'm gonna base that on how much did the the server keep me in the loop

It's does the waiter recognize it when they serve it to me
Or did they not pay attention when I was placing my order? Yeah, but if it's a food runner though

But I'm just saying if my server comes up is like wait a minute. That's not what you ordered
Totally not their fault
But if it's served to me by the waiter and they don't even realize that you know
I said no bun on my burger. I guess that's a simple thing
But I said I wanted the fish and they brought me chicken and the server didn't catch that then that's the server not paying attention
I'm also intrigued with the concept
And I've heard a lot of people is like these these servers that just won't write down the order. Yeah, it's like oh, I got it
And I'm like I don't know if you do
Prove me wrong, but it's

What how grateful are you for the service?
Well, and is there a reason you can't make sure you have cash on you when you go eat there
So you don't have to have them take it out and you can base the gratuity based on the service you got you want the real reason for that
Go for it 99 times out of 100 when I go somewhere to eat. I don't know where I'm going

A guy that he was the second friend I ever made when I moved to Texas
Rick Fetrell I knew he did websites and he just happened to be there that day hanging out
So I said I know a guy
And so I introduced
Angie
To Ricky
And
A relationship was born that day
Not long after that

We were asked to
Come out to their home
Because they lived on the other side of Fort Worth they still do
So that we could get
um

And sitting there one of my favorite stories to talk about when we talk about this was Chad was there
And
You may have seen there's a picture of Peter if that's a studio portrait where he's wearing a t-shirt that the front of it is
Chewbacca's face and it wraps all the way around
It kind of looks tied eye, but it's Chewie's fur
And Chad saw that picture and he was like that shirt is amazing
So we're talking and Peter showing us his MTV movie award and telling us the story behind it
Which is that was one thing about Peter is man that guy could tell a story
man that guy could tell a story
And Angie kind of disappeared
As Angie tends to do because she understands that you know people are there to see Peter
But Angie loves to be with him and Angie is an amazing human being and I adore her
And she just kind of disappeared
And about 10 minutes later she came back with that shirt and she gave it to Chad
She's like we have like six of these
And I have no doubt in my mind that Chad still has that shirt
He was scheduled
For fanics of this weekend
Which I think was part of the shock to me
Because
He was gonna be there and all of the people that are here in Dallas Fort Worth
That get to see him that's that's their time to get to see Peter and say hello and
And hug Angie and the kids come in and
So to lose him like that
It's
I don't want to say I'm still dealing with it
But there this is personal to me
You know the last time I got to see them was at the Voldemort of shows a couple years ago
And you know, I didn't get to see them for a very very long time because Peter travels a lot
Or I was at a town the weekend Peter was doing a show
You know Ricky very close with them traveled with them for a time
But when I saw Angie
She hugged me and she's like we took like we talk every day
Because that's who she is and that's who Peter was
And to use his name in the past tense is hard for me
Um, but to see
The tributes
Two full pages
At his table of people that came by to sign it and friends of the show that were asked to
Be the presence at the table to to to guide people through that and whomever
Whomever took that full sized R2
And put that in front of the table
Because if you don't know
Kenny Baker was his best friend
And when Kenny passed that was very tough for him
And I know that Peters had
He's had health issues for years and when you're seven four
A body is not meant to be seven four and I've always thought it was hilarious that before before
Lucas found him he was a dental assistant
Like the visual I can't visualize that you know what I mean
And to hear Peter tell those stories and tell stories about people like Alec Guinness and as closest he was to carry because
Care he was carries refuge a lot especially filming those the first four five and six
And
To lose her and then to lose him
There's been so many amazing tributes out there and
You know, I said earlier in the week about the picture that keeps showing up of
Me at their home looking like I had just gotten home from auditioning for a Brooks and Dunn tribute band
And then to see
One of the guys from big and rich doing the national anthem today. Oh my god kind of look like that too
He was an amazing human
He always made time and I think that's why there's so many tributes out there to him
And and I know that I'm just I'm one of bazillions of people
That knew him and loved him on a level that a lot of
celebrities don't get but it was because
Peter
Put himself out there. He wasn't afraid of the fans. You know seeing Ricky's kids
Posting pictures
It just hurts my heart
Because those yeah one of my favorite stories is Dalton
Ricky's son
Who's been in children's for like a month now Dalton's always had health issues and
You know, he's one of my favorite boys
When episode seven came out
Peter had sent some toys to him
And one of them was a porg a stuffed porg and at the time
Dalton was wearing a breathing mask. We call it his scuba Steve mask
And he was talking but nobody could understand him and
A lot of times we can understand what Dalton was saying
But this day they couldn't and they took the mask off and they were saying what and he pointed at the porg and he yelled
Uncle Peter eats those things
So
And seeing Ricky post like I don't know how I'm gonna tell him this because I need to tell him before the TV does
And seeing Sam post pictures with him and Megan posting pictures with him and then other pictures of the night
The DFW fan force had dinner with him at an outback steakhouse
And seeing my niece when she got she must have been
4 or 5
On my shoulders
With Peter
She's on my shoulders Peter is behind her and still taller than both of us combined
You know and Dalton before when he when he could still walk and and friend of the show Lonnie hearts holding him and
I just I can't process this
Because my heart hurts and I know that there's people in this world who's hearts hurt more than mine
And I can't imagine what those people were going through it
The community lost a friend the world lost the quality human
But he's taking care of the princess
And that's what we that's what he's always done and
We would be remiss if we didn't talk about this
um
There's not enough words in the world. There's not enough heart emojis in the world. There's not enough
There's not enough in the world to talk about what this man meant just so many people
And to be able to pay tribute to him on the weekend of intergalactic star wars day
It just makes it
I don't want to say it makes it easier
But I think it brings that community together even more and
I just don't know what else to say that would say what I want to say except how much we're going to miss him
You know just knowing he was in the world made the world a better place and
There will always be times that I'll think of some of the stories or some of the conversations we've had with him
And I'll just laugh hysterically because like I said man that dude could tell a story
And
For those of you that never got the chance to experience Peter may you
I'm sad for you
because
He is one of the good ones
He's one of the ones that
At the Voldemort of shows he was one of the true
just
He he did what he needed to do and he let you know he wasn't afraid to let you know what he needed and either was Angie
You know he almost ran me down in his skirt
And he knew it was me it was Peter you know, so
We want to send our deepest to the family the friends the fans and every combination therein because
There were definitely overlap in all three of those there's a venn diagram that goes through all three of those things
We love you we miss Peter and
We know he's he's not hurting anymore
And we know he's looking down upon us and he's going hey, it's okay

Challenges so they have to come up with a concept

Through learning team building and processes of listening and sharing and how to communicate with each other
And then the next day they build an app or a product or a build a business
Some of the girls were doing some financial things because not everyone has education in finance and
Some of the girls were doing you know money management which finance funding management. They're pretty similar
My company recently did this internally

And so they have the adult one going on in the big room that they have 24 hours to come up with a company
And then create and code and everything and part of it is the coding
It's also to get girls interested in these stem type
fields of interest
My niece was there and she was on team fox smart
And they decided to help with animal adoptions
So they came up with an app that you could say I want a big dog or a small dog or a cat or a snake
And I want it within this many miles of where I am and it would give you profiles
Like a dating app would give you a profile of this is the temperament and good with kids or no kids good with older
Well trained needs training and they actually ended up winning

I'm extremely proud of everything she did with this
But it's so neat because it's girls from all over
And to have these high level
Staff at american encouraging these girls like this is stuff you all can do
You can learn this and whether you need it for you decide to go into stem or you go and do another field

Because it could help you further your job no matter what you do
So it was just really nice to see and
The support and the encouragement and the female empowerment for these young ladies
To believe in themselves that they can accomplish things. It was just

Very basic list this week
It is the top 10 things I need to do more
I've done a lot of internalizing
This year
I know it's only May but it's also May
And some of this stuff I've already got wheels and motion on but it's just stuff that I need to do more
Number 10 I need to read more
It's very difficult
To find time to read
I'm not a big fan of books on tape
Because I listen to enough podcasts. I need I need to budget time for music in my life
I can't do podcasts all the time
But I'd like to read more but I've also got to find books I'm interested in reading
You know because I'm the kind of person that I'll read like 50 pages and then put it down for three months and then read like 200 pages
But I need to read more
Number 9 I need to write more
I have lost in myself
Creative writing was always something that I was really good at when I was a kid
and
I need to sharpen those skills again
You know, I do I do a little bit of writing here and their social media helps me with that
but
There's some things I want to do and in order for me to do those things I have to get those creative muscles working again
You know we're 58 days from summer band 46
Got some things in brain and I'm working on
Some things some projects from the past that I want to redo and revisit
So I want to start writing more because I really like writing I really really do
I need to write in cursive more I found that recently holy cow
I just I decided recently I was going to write some stuff in cursive it took me forever
Because if it's not my signature, I don't write in cursive anymore
This is not teachers are the kids
Number 8 I need to really vacation
Eight and seven kind of go together
Staycations are great
But the problem with the staycation
Is I end up filling that time with stuff that I think I need to be doing
Now I took a vacation a little over a month ago
And I made it a point during that week
I wouldn't hit golf balls a couple of times because I forced myself on my I need to grant it
I'm going to sleep till I get up every day because that's part of the deal
but
I need to do things
Because catching up on my shows is not as important as it used to be except for Game of Thrones
um
But I need to really vacation
Not necessarily do touristy things
But I need to do
Vacationy things
Even if it's like one night to go do something
Well, even if it's sitting in a lounge chair listening to water hit the band and read about this and you can multitask it then
No such thing is multitasking never realize that
Well, no, I'm at the reading you can really only do one thing
I'm at the reading and the relaxing with the water of the vacationing so it's the
Vacationing and reading so that it which ties into number seven, which is I need to travel more
I love traveling
It's one thing
It's one thing that I miss about my the position I used to have before I have the position I have now
I did I didn't travel a ton
But I did enough
You know, I like going to new places especially if I go to places where I know people and I get to visit them and their natural habitat
Like I love that because they get to show me cool stuff
It sounds like you know visiting friends that live in the zoo some of them do
I did live in Florida. I know you but
Just getting to see you know like going to Vegas and seeing my baby sister Helen and my buddy Armando
Who I am I'm just I'm such a big fan of Mondo. He's so amazing
Or you know getting a Ohio and seeing my friend Bridget or I need to get back to North Carolina so I can see my cousin
I've got a cousin that that's in the Coast Guard
That's down in South Padre
There's no reason I can't get down there
I need to we're actually technically it's corpus but it's close enough
You know my buddy Granger who lives in South Padre and I South Padre he lives in Galveston
You know, I love Galveston. I need to go down there more. I have people down there
You know, I just I need to get out and do more things from a travel standpoint like
Phil and I have already agreed our 30 year high school reunions in two years
We're gonna road trip it
And because I road trip the 25 by myself
And I loved it
Now granted did I drive a little bit faster trying to get through Tallahassee? Yes, yes, I did
But
Especially because when I went down there
I went through the panhandle and then down the east coast and when I came home
I went across alligator alley and came up the west coast
Oh, so you headed across to 95 or the turn? Yep, and then came back 75
No, I didn't even hit the turnpike. I came all the way down 95 right
So
And I actually I didn't even hit alligator alley. I took were 75 meets uh 275
Okay, and went that way and then came back up. Is that the Orlando cross?
No, this was on the southern tip. Oh, okay. So this is where I went down to
Through the Everglades the Tampa tip or the Tampa no well with and then up through Tampa
And then yeah, it's four is what takes you across right or land oh nice 10
No, that's four. It's four
Tens out here. Yeah, well the ten goes all the way though. That's also true. I love I love the road trip and next weekend after next
My brother gets married
And sure it's in Oklahoma
But I get to go to Oklahoma
And I get to perform the officiating at my brother's wedding, which I'm so excited about you know
I need to do that more
Weekend trips. I gotta stop occupying myself
Because I've got to have Robtime
Um number six and this is something I've really been working on this year specifically. I got to talk to the moderate more
You know she lives in a different time zone
So it's not like I can just go to my mom's house
Like there are multiple flights involved. I can't go direct from Dallas to Boise. Yeah, can't do it
Yeah, I gotta go through Salt Lake
And that's the drive that I don't know that I can't do
But I need to talk to her more
You know and because again
It's mom. Yeah, and at 45
I'm 45 so my mom was considered a leald and I am and so
You know she's spry she sharp is attack
But I gotta talk to her more
Number five and I know I've actually been doing really well on this, but I need to do concerts
A recent study shows the more concerts you go to the better your life is
Now there's another study that shows you can make a study say anything you want to but
You know Charle and I are going to hoody and bear naked ladies next month and not just the ones I'm involved in like when Grace D
Place that's different. I'm working
you know um
I'm hoping to get to you and then we will take that week off because we're not going to do a show
Labor Day weekend because that that Sunday night
Gin Blossom's tonic and collective soul are playing out of nerving. I'm going to that show
Uh, one way or another
I need to go to more concerts
And I'm not gonna go to a concert just go to a concert
But there's time for a field gets tickets and a vet takes it's like hey, you want to go?
Oh, let's go. They were at the off the rails countries festival this weekend
Not something I would do, but that's what they did
Interestingly enough they wound up sitting next to other friends of mine. Oh, did they really? Yeah, that's cool
Well, not exactly next to but in the same area, which I just found funny that happened to me at a rush show
That I was at a friend of the show Chris Randall wound up we were at the Starplex and we were in the reserve seats
He was right in front of me. Oh, and I just went Chris Randall
And he he I could feel him tense up like there's only one person that says my name that way
Uh
Number four and I'm a huge fan of these things and now that I'm actually trying to take better care of myself
I love water parks. Mm-hmm. I'm a huge fan of the water park
And there are some amazing water parks in this area
We have an indoor water park that's open year-round out in Grand Prairie
Why am I not doing these things? I didn't know that existed
It just opened a couple years ago. Okay, but and it is year-round because it's indoors
I thought you were going with great wolf and then you said grand prairie yeah, no no great great wolf
Great wolf is its own minor thing. Yeah, like that's you you plan great wolf. You just don't go to great wolf. That's a weekend trip
Dear God, it's expensive
Uh, number three museums I have not been to the parot yet really and the parot is doing a Lego exhibit right now
I mean, why am I not doing this? Why am I not calling my niece who loves Legos
And apparently now has an affinity for Bob Ross and that just makes her more awesome
Why am I not going to the parot?
I need to do these things. You know, I try I need to go to the sixth floor once a decade
They did it in the 90s. I did it in the odds. I need to do it in the team. I've never been I've never been to the six floors
Amazing never been and it's it'll make you question things though
But it's really neat though when you get to the point where you can look out the window and you can see
Like it's really well done. Yeah, I mean, I've heard wonderful things about it
I just I think I keep waiting for friends to come in from out of town to show them
Stuff and I just never I got to this explore museum before I got where I was living in Dallas. My dad's a huge JFK nut
So it was like no, no, we're going to well my buddy James came to town about 10 years ago and he is a history teacher
And he was like I can't come to Dallas and not do that right so he in front of the show Julie Wade and I we all went together
And you know, I went when I first moved here too
so
Number two, we are working on this I
Need to get back on the golf course
You and me both, but I'm also very selective of who I will go to the golf course with because I do not play golf
I hit golf balls. It's completely different. It's too completely different concepts. I keep saying let's all go to top golf
And we can laugh at my lack of skill but top golf is different. Yeah, well, yes
I want to go to a course and hit the golf ball down the fairway. Okay
That's the thing I like to do kind of like the subtle getting away and nature because golf allows you to separate from everything
Whereas top golf is like look at you don't have to get away from everything whereas the golf course is more separating yourself from
And there are some amazing golf courses in this town. Mm-hmm. Right. It just me not golfing ever
I think top golf would be a better. Oh top golf is great for people. Yeah, right, but I'm saying it I think it'd be better than me trying to
Oh, no, you don't just go straight to a golf course. Yeah, that's no, no, no, you're honestly
I've been at this for 16 years. I still don't belong on a golf course
But I got to get new shoes though first because I zion Williams and my shoes recently
And I mean it happened exact same way and they were Nike's which makes it even weirder and I want to get back into bowling
Oh, I love the bowl
You do not let my house you can contact. Yeah, so you do not bowl anymore sir. No, uh, well, I like to bowl
Bullying doesn't like me. That's fair. You could come hang out with us and be the mascot your leader
I've heard that before but that also involves beer, which is another thing. I'm not supposed to do fair enough
Number one, and I say this every year. I say this every year
But this is the year I want to do it
I need to grill more. I've been saying that they so far this year as well
I think I my grill that I have in the backyard first lot needs a new cover because that cover's done
But the the push button igniter doesn't work and I think that might be just a fuse. That's gotta be fixed
Otherwise, I just take a lighter and light it up
Well on the other aspect of that is you've seen where my grill is. It's by the pool
Yeah, I got the table and everything. I love use it. I love grilled food. I enjoy it very much
Um, we've had you know back when I had the kind of time we would do my birthday parties here
With the boys. There's no way that's gonna happen again. Right
But Chad is an amazing griller

Like he made a marinade that had mountain doing it. This is a true story
I don't know what else was in it, but he grilled this chicken in it. I got a smoker out there too
Like I need to be doing this more
You know just hanging out on a back porch. It's grabbed the boom box out of my garage
Let's crank up a little music and let's get this done
You know, I don't know why I'm not making more time to do these things
Yeah, and I go over to mom and dad's and use their grill
Because I don't have a safe area in my back without pouring cement
well, but you're uh
Isn't Richardson's laws a little weird on that too?

Okay, because I know in certain places you have to be a certain distance away from the house and all that stuff
Well, I mean, that's just natural safety
But I don't have like a concrete pad in my backyard so it
I'm not comfortable putting a grill on grass
In Texas, but what about in your in your driveway though?
Driveways in the front which is okay
What he's saying is is if you could keep the grill in your garage
Pull it out to the driveway to roll and then go back in. I've never seen anyone pull a grill to their front
Because our driveways are in front of the house. Right, but I've seen that all of a time and major head like that
I've just never seen it
So to me it's that there's nowhere in the back to do it because that's where I mean
And that's next to the kitchen and that's where I've always seen grilling that there's the other way you can think about it
You've never seen a new we do it, but you could be the first and have other people go well
She did it we can do it too, but with when he said about Richardson
I'd want to check that that may be a stipulation and why I think you have a contact for that
I might have one or two
And there's just nothing like it in the world. I don't care what you do to food
There's nothing in the world like grilling food. Yeah, plus if I go to mom and dad's to do it
I get to see them
And I usually end up with trading out some of them come over to your place and you do it that way
Yeah, but I usually trade out like I usually put some of my meat toward them
And then they usually have higher quality meat and I usually get some of theirs. So
It's an exchange rate
I'm gonna judge you outwardly
Anything you guys want to add to the list
Was at the end I thought that was number two. No, growing was number one number two was golf. Oh my
I just got lost in all the things on that list. I want to do too
The only thing I could think of with that is
It more of a combination of not just talking to my folks for going to see them more
I mean, I haven't been able to see them and got almost a year at this point
Uh
But it's it's overdue especially you know, I got to see Nana
Yeah
Nana when the show Nana we love you Nana. You're our favorite fan
All right, but yeah, it's just all those that fall under the bettering oneself while realizing they
Not to kill yourself going through with everything. Yeah works not gonna be the thing that you wish you had done more
