Oh yeah!
It is 702 on the East Coast.
It is 402 on the West Coast.
It is the 24th of June in the year of our Lord 2018.
It is season 8, episode 43, 446 times.
This voice has welcomed you to the Clubhouse Podcast.
Live every Sunday night, 7 Eastern 4 Pacific, at least for the next 5 weeks or so.
Welcome!
My name is Rob. I am the Executive Producer of the Clubhouse Podcast and I have ice in my cup.
That was for me.
And that was only for me.
Because sometimes the jokes are just for me.
Let's go around the day us sitting across for me
is my co-host.
And a man who's glad we're taking next week off, he is Chad. Welcome, sir.
Okay, what the actual hell?
I'm just saying I got ice in my cup.
He broke general.
I have ice in my cup. I'm very happy about this.
I do too, so I guess I'm just as special as you.
Just saying.
Next to him is the Lady of the House.
And a woman who's wearing a t-shirt that has a pickle that's chewing bubble gum.
And I really don't know what that means.
She is general. Welcome, friend.
It's a pickle family circus shirt.
So it's a pickle with a clown note.
I'll say I think that's a clown.
Oh, it looks like bubble gum to me.
It's a shout out to my bestest friend from high school who lives in San Francisco.
She works for the circus center and it's a pickle family circus shirt.
Well, I'm glad we said that then because this is an audio meeting and they wouldn't have seen that.
It's an awesome shirt and it makes me think of my bestest friend.
Rounding out the day is the newest member of the cast.
And a man who...
His t-shirt, you really have to look close.
It's very faded.
But that's how he rolls.
Alex is here. Welcome, sir.
Well, it does emphasize knowing your role.
Yeah, but I will not shut my mouth because then we'd have nothing going on this show.
Which also, I don't know, that might be an improvement.
I don't know.
So you got three of the people in the room.
All right, so let's go through it. We have one correction from last week.
I did the research.
The horsewoman that we forgot was Marina Shafir.
Shafir. I thought it was Shafir.
I'm going to call her Shafir. It's easier.
But importantly, she was signed last month.
So all four apparently are signed.
And we're going to talk about that when we get to wrestling.
Because of reasons.
And I'm just letting you all of you know now all of my raw notes are questions.
I have no statements from raw.
So let's get this thing moving.
Let's get into some NASCAR talk.
Because today we raced from Sonoma.
For you kids with the clothes in the hair.
I just, I think Sonoma and NASCAR.
It's just a weird.
I don't know.
I blame Jeff Gordon.
Is that one of the locations mentioned in Route 66?
I'm just, I'm asking for a friend.
I don't know. I really don't know.
You're asking questions that I don't have the answers to, sir.
I got nothing.
But today we were at Sonoma.
I'm trying to find the name of today's race.
And NASCAR switched up their website again.
So I don't know.
It's wearing me out.
I know where we are next week.
But I need to know.
Okay, now I've got what I need.
The Toyota Savemart 350.
That's like two worlds colliding.
I don't know what's going on there.
But here were your top 10 finishers.
Denny Hamlin.
He finishes in 10th.
He started in 21st in the number 11 Toyota.
In the number 88 Chevrolet in the old junior car.
Alex Bowman.
And no, I'm not getting texted right now.
But he is very good at archery.
And I did pull my phone on vibrate.
He started in 17th, wound up in 9th.
In 8th place in the number 10 Ford starting in 24th.
Eric Almarola.
But he spells his name.
A-R-I-C.
I don't know why.
So is it Eric?
Yes.
Eric Jones.
In the number 20 Toyota starts in 20th, winds up in 7th.
Kurt Bush.
He starts in 23rd, winds up in 6th.
Keith.
Starting in 9th and winding up in 5th.
In the number 18 Toyota is Kyle Bush.
Chase Elliott.
Attorney it law.
In the number 9 Chevrolet starts in the bronze metal winds up in 4th.
So not a lot of loss there.
In the bronze metal starting in 19th.
In the number 14 Ford it's Clint Bowyer.
I think he might be like the silver metalist in archery behind Alex Bowman.
In the silver metal starting in 6th, winding up in 2nd.
The number 4 Ford is Kevin Harvick.
And winning today's race.
Starting in 2nd and then winning the race.
So being consistent is one Martin Truex Jr.
Let's go to your standings right now in the Monster Energy Cup.
I think it's their calling it this year.
The 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
That's what you got going for.
Your odd man out.
If the plan of starting today.
Would be Paul Menard and yes this family does own the hardware stores.
He is, let me do some math here.
He is 8 points behind Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
I feel like he should own a chain of buffet restaurants.
Come on down Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
He is 17 points behind Alex Bowman.
Bowman is 13 points behind Eric Jones.
And who is about somewhere in the neighborhood of about 40 some odd points behind Chase Elliott.
A tardy at love.
He is 8 points behind 7 times 7 times 7 times 7 times 7 times 7 times 7 times 7 times.
Champion Jimmy Johnson.
Not that Jimmy Johnson.
Johnson is 547 points behind the man they call the stone.
Ryan Blaney.
Ryan Blaney is 5.
5 is points behind Eric Almarola.
Almarola is 1 point back on Kyle Larson.
Is he the attorney at law on Chase Elliott's the new sheriff in town?
I think so.
Whatever you said, it kind of threw me.
That's right.
I was Chase Elliott the new sheriff in town.
Kyle Larson.
Kyle Larson, attorney at law.
Okay.
I got that one.
I totally screwed that up.
Just go with Larson and Elliott.
Russ is in the chat room.
Russ good to see you brother.
Let's see what we got going on here.
Larson is 33 points back on Denny Hamlin.
Hamlin is 19 points back on Kurt Busch.
Who is 20 points behind Clint Bowyer.
Truex Jr. is 2 points ahead of him.
But Truex Jr. is 8 points back on a name that we haven't said a lot this season.
But the guy is sitting in fourth place in the standings.
One Brad keselowski.
That's right.
He has been kind of quiet.
But he's fourth in the standings.
He is 30 points back on Joey.
And Joey Lagano.
Who is and Lagano is 60 points back on Harvick.
Harvick and Harvick is 72 points back on your current leader one Kurt Busch.
But oddly Harvick has more playoff points.
You know what this is?
This is that new math.
I don't get this.
We'll get back to that during movie talk.
Next week is the holiday week.
And we are going to be off next week.
Because it's Ragnarok 2018 next week.
So if you are in the Dallas Fort Worth area next Sunday at 4 o'clock,
you need to get your butt over to Cider Cade.
It's one of these places.
It's a micro brewery.
But it's also an arcade.
So you pay 10 bucks and play all you want.
And they have the new Iron Maiden pinball machine,
which I will be playing next Sunday.
Also, we're going to be using that as a fundraiser for Who Need Sleep 2018.
We'll have a donation box there.
If you would like to Biscoe gifts upon us.
We're cool with that.
But we would actually rather you take that money and put it into the charity.
Because we'll talk about why that's important a little bit later in the show.
Because now we can talk about certain things that General and I have not been able to talk about for a few weeks.
I didn't know we can talk about it until yesterday.
And I did get my email this week or last week from Amazon reminding me that someone I know has a holiday,
has a birthday coming up and I need to go check their list out on Amazon.
Because, you know, I've done that for you in the past.
That's right.
All I'm saying is that's why I have an Amazon wish list.
Yeah.
And it's called Rob's year round hands on wish list for a reason.
It was pretty cool to actually get the email reminding me.
Hey, you can shop for your friend here.
That's right.
So next week Sunday, July 1st is the over 10s.
400, is this the comedian?
Is he own?
Siric Overton's?
What?
I don't know.
What is Overton's?
It sounds like a coat store.
If you come on down to Overton's, we give you a good deal on coat.
Why that accent?
I don't know.
I had a Yakovshmi or nothing in my head.
It's what they gave them on Ellis Island.
Actually, there's an Overton's.
Overkins.com where they'll price match voting and marine supplies.
That's what they gave him when he left Karelian.
But, you know, it looks like voting and marine supplies.
Okay.
Next Sunday at 230 Eastern on your NBCSN.
So Fox has, did Fox lose the contract or did not pick it up to later?
Because today was on FS1.
Or does, I guess, maybe NBC picks it up for the rest of the way in
because Fox will have the NFL or in the fall.
Or did World Cup just take precedence over everything right now?
That's true.
They haven't known a lot of World Cup.
No, NBC's got this thing the rest of the way in.
Okay.
From here forward.
Because Fox does have the World Cup and then they'll have NFL.
You know, I actually watched a little World Cup yesterday.
I watched a little bit of the Mexico match.
Boy, that matched this morning.
My wife was locked in.
England played this morning.
Yeah, England.
Did they?
The England took Panama to the woodshed.
The reaction gifts and everything from English pubs
has been some of the best watching I've seen.
Man.
And that was, they were doing some fouls.
And Russ does want to say thank you for everybody that wished him a happy birthday
last this past week.
He went to have some time in Tulsa.
He was on Tulsa time.
You're welcome for that.
So that's where we're at.
Next Sunday, we're at the over 10s, 500,
actually Chicago land speedway.
Located in pickipsy.
No, that's not right.
All right, let's talk some TV talk.
And I'm going to tell you guys, and I'm saying it right now.
Get ready for tech talk.
I've told everybody in pre-show.
I've got a story in tech talk coming up.
And I said to these guys earlier, I'm not going to say game changer.
But you can see it from here.
And I will say this.
Somebody else, I've teased this for.
And if you know about what's going on, what he's been doing,
I'll even give you one more hint.
It could impact film art.
It's all I'm saying.
Okay.
A boy, Phil.
Whose daughter is not my granddaughter.
Thank you very much.
Don't think that's going anywhere.
That's going to be here for a while.
And I want you to know that.
Oh, if you keep bringing it up, yeah.
Nobody brings that up.
So I have to say about that.
All right.
But first of all, we want to say a congratulations
because
Kid Harrington and Rose Leslie are now married.
Yes.
So John Snow does know something.
Well, they married him a nice girl.
They already showed that in the earlier season to yes.
So they are officially married now.
So a mausole top to those kids.
And Accudos.
AMC has renewed the terror for season two.
Why?
Really?
You're the first person I talked to that has not
been Gaga over that show.
You know, I don't know if it was I had too many distractions going on.
It bored me to tears.
Dude, it's serenines.
I know.
And that's the only bright spot.
Just saying.
Let's see.
Netflix has renewed dear white people for season three.
So that's got some legs to it.
I thought the movie was good.
I didn't know that they could make a series out of it,
but they have.
That totally got past me.
So this could be a spoiler for those of you that haven't watched it.
And then I am one of those people, but apparently it's out there now.
Jeremy Jordan not returning as a season regular for season three of Supergirl.
Oh.
So it's happening a lot in the arrow.
Well, here's the thing in the season finale and get ready for a spoiler in three two.
They launched him into the future.
So his character will be back, but not as a season regular.
Oh, okay.
All right.
So there's that.
It must be doing something.
NBC has canceled timeless again.
Apparently that's it got canceled and then they brought it back.
And then they canceled it again.
And my wife was a fan of that show.
When I told her she went, oh, again.
No, apparently.
That's about the same reaction that Sean had too.
Welcome to what it's like to be a fire.
No, no, they just that stayed dead.
Unfortunately.
And ABC has now given an order to the Conners.
Yes.
So the spin off with Sarah Gilbert's character that is going to happen.
I don't even know if it's necessarily focusing on her or just no, it focuses on her.
Just okay.
And on her and her family.
Yeah, that's the end of it off of Rose.
I see that because you had all these people that would have lost jobs.
Oh, yeah.
From that perspective, I'm really proud of them for saying, you know what?
We got a solution.
So I'm good with it.
Let's see.
Well, Fran Dresser says there is talk of a revival of the nanny.
No.
What is she going to watch the grandkids?
I guess.
Her face is going to be the same age as the children.
She doesn't need this.
Didn't she marry the guy that like invented email or something like that?
Alvor?
No.
No, he invented the internet.
We have to be sure.
I'm serious.
Like she invented some, she invented it.
She married some.
She married an actor who wasn't actually straight and then had a TV show about the two
of them's romance.
Like her fill of marriage.
But I don't know where she married after that.
She married some tech guy.
Oh, I don't have a button for this.
Not one that's ready.
I'll do fact.
Let's see where we at here.
Amelia Clark has officially finished her shooting on Game of Thrones.
Yeah, I love her Instagram post.
So I didn't realize that she's like, this has been my home for ten years.
God.
Has that show been around about me?
No.
Surely not.
Well, you gotta think of how long it took him to shoot the first season to get there.
I mean, this is what season seven.
So it's been at least eight years because remember, they're skipping this year.
So they probably took two years before they got one aired.
Because they had to shoot a pilot for HBO to approve and then send a series.
Which almost killed the series before it started.
Wow.
They recast her if I'm not mistaken.
She was not the original.
And another thing that I'm going to say.
No!
Childs play the series as in developments.
Because we know.
But what would you rather have?
So we're getting dexter in doll form.
Oh, geez.
Oh, this is for us.
I want to go back to the friend's restaurant story.
Are they going to call it the Grand Manny?
She called the Grand Manny.
And which would you rather have?
Childs play the series?
Or?
Clive Barker working with sci-fi on a series for Nightbreed.
I'd rather have that.
I'd rather have that.
Because I know that that film did not live up to expectations, but the book was really cool.
So if they can course correct and get it right for a series, I'm fine with that.
Russ also letting us know that Gong Show and to tell the truth both have been renewed by ABC for their game show thing.
Yeah, I tried to watch it.
Get down, get down.
I'm sorry.
I was for the Gong show.
I tried watching.
I know what it's for.
I want to give Chad credit.
I tried watching that book all the other night.
It's still just as bad as it was.
Which one?
Gong Show.
Well, I know that apparently coming up on Match Game will be one Kevin Smith.
Oh, really?
Yes.
I totally thought he was baiting you on the Gong.
That should go well.
So, let's get some good with it.
TV on DVD and Blu-ray this week.
Black Lightning Season 1.
Start strong ends with a bit of a thud for me.
Someone joined it.
We'll still watch Season 2, but it was a little bit...
I tried watching that with you, and I'm just like that.
I can't.
Steven Universe Season 4, if you're a fan of that show.
That's a Disney XD thing.
Interesting.
A three-disc set this week.
I think the general will be very interested in this,
because the female empowerment thing.
Three-disc set this week.
WWE, now then and forever.
The evolution of the women's division.
Oh, birthdays in January.
Just saying.
My birthday's in January.
I'm just saying that this is coming out on DVD this week.
You always hear the Clubhouse podcast,
because why would we do a show more than two weeks in a row?
We're going to be off next week.
Because of Ragnarok, but the week after that will be the Season 8 finale.
So Extreme Rules on July 15th will be the season premiere of Season 9.
You believe that, sir?
No, I can't.
We'll have a couple of reviews coming your way this week.
The Whitney documentary will be seeing that tomorrow night.
Don and I will be checking out Sacario Day of the Soledad on Tuesday.
And then Wednesday will be at the grand opening for the Alamo Draft House in Denton.
And so we'll be releasing reviews on Thursday this week.
There might be something else in there, too.
We've just got to align our schedules.
Okay.
So be ready for that.
And the next week is Ragnarok, because next Monday is my birthday.
I will be halfway to 90, which means I'm still about 30 years from my midlife crisis.
So I'm excited about that.
So, hey, I'm going to forever.
Fame.
So that's the next few weeks at a glance.
He calls me Methusel.
And be prepared.
We need to talk to Schubert because we're getting close to Asian Film Festival of Dallas.
True.
I believe that is the weekend of July 21st.
Somebody may want to look that up.
I think it's AFD.org.
Oh, check it.
Okay.
So we've got that going for us, too.
We did Asian Film Festival of Dallas last year.
Had a blast.
So that'll be coming up as well.
All right.
Let's get into POI.
POI stands for Person of Interest.
It is a segment we do on this show where we take a person or an entity
and we debate their greatness or lack thereof.
And I have one that's kind of timely this week.
We, as we all know, next week Independence Day.
Yes.
Two days after the greatest holiday of the year.
Wow.
But I want to talk about municipalities moving holidays.
All right.
Because, and go ahead, General.
19th through 26th.
Further reminder.
You had me set a while back.
Okay. Good.
See?
That's because I don't know how to think sometimes.
I just had to find it on my phone.
There you go.
That's why I need you guys to help me remember these things.
Thanks, Google.
No, she's got it in her calendar.
I've got it in my calendar because he had me put it in my calendar.
But speaking of Google,
I need to put it in our Google calendar so we all have it.
So here's the thing.
And the catalyst for this was, as you guys know,
I'm a huge fan of the Bob and Tom Show.
I listen to it every day on the podcast
because we don't have an affiliate in Dallas.
Either last year or year before,
Tom Griswold, getting ready for July 4th,
packs the kids up, packs all the lawn chairs up
and everything they need to go celebrate.
Got to his local park and there was nobody there
because they had done it two days before.
Oh.
Kaboom Town, which is the big deal in Addison here,
I think is probably this coming Saturday.
Do we need to work on things?
Because you know, Labor Day, always on a Monday.
Right.
Memorial Day, always on a Monday.
Thanksgiving, always on a Thursday.
And I know it's July 4th, 1776.
I get that.
But when the holiday falls in the middle of the week
like it does this year,
I mean, when we were kids, it didn't matter.
Right, we were out of school anyway.
You just went and you had July 4th
and you had all the fireworks and you had the grilling
and you had the food.
And then, so Kaboom Town's going to be on July 3rd this year.
Yeah.
But again, not on the holiday.
When you get to fire stuff off
and you have your sparklers or something,
Tom Griswald said is,
I don't care how much of a man you are.
You are a child with a sparkler in your hand.
And I think part of it goes back to corporate America
and their willingness to give paid time off to their employees.
Because I mean, I decided this week,
I'm just going to take the whole week off next week.
And thank you to my boss who actually said the words,
yes, you need to take the week off.
You deserve it.
Your boss is a smart person.
I want to thank my boss, Lorraine McAvoy,
who I know doesn't listen to the show,
but that's beyond the point.
You can see this in the video.
So I want to thank her for doing that
because I do need some time off.
We offer half of it.
And I'm not also not good at that.
I mean, I'm very OCD,
most things in this life, with my PTO.
But she basically convinced me,
you need to take a week off.
You know, because even when you had your week off in March,
you still did a bunch of stuff.
You just need some downtime.
Take it.
You have the time.
Use it.
So I'm still going to take the week after who needs sleep off,
whether I go to Florida or not.
And speaking of which,
Pleasant surprised this week,
friend of mine,
Patty Hansen,
who is the wife of Tom Hansen,
who is one of my mentors.
His son was the first human to ever call me Uncle Rob.
They're the ones I go to Disney with,
for tonight at Joy.
I get a text on Tuesday.
Hey, do you have lunch plans?
And I'm like,
probably,
but I don't think I was a person you meant to send this to.
She's like, no, no, no.
I'm about to land a DFW.
I'm like, you're about to do what?
Where?
Yeah.
And so I got to have lunch with Patty on Tuesday.
I took her up to a heartache,
because we weren't going to go to a chain place
if you're coming to my town.
I'm going to show you my town.
And so great to see her.
I had a great lunch.
And we're still trying to figure out if we're going to do something
and if so win.
But I'm going to take that week off regardless.
And hopefully there won't be a tropical storm bearing down on W.
There won't be acts of God this year.
And I am willing it.
I'm so glad she got to marry Johnny Depp.
The whole Tom Hanson.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He dealt with that,
because that was Johnny Depp's character.
That was the character.
He spelled differently,
but it was still Tom Hanson.
God.
He's still a lovely person for what you've said about him.
And if I want to imagine him as Johnny Depp, why not?
And I'm going to say to any act of God that thinks it's going to threaten me.
Depp, come here.
So I, somebody's been practicing.
Well, I remember I can, I can, I can rearrange the buttons
other I can be in it now.
I'm beautiful.
So how do we feel about this?
Because to me, I want to celebrate the holiday on the holiday.
And that does, and here's my problem with it.
If you, if you've got to work the next day, just be smart.
You know what I mean?
Playing your holidays accordingly.
But fireworks have to wait until dark to go off.
And we're in the long season.
So it's nine, 10 o'clock before it's dark.
But most cities, their ordinance is 10 o'clock.
They kind of fudge a little on the holiday.
But I mean, yeah, you, you've got a point.
But for, you know, people that have to be at work at seven a.m.
That's going to be a little challenge if you're at the fireworks
till, you know, 10, 30, 11 o'clock at night.
By the time you get out of the parking lot.
Just for me, it takes away the specialness of the holiday.
So you're not, so you're not for this.
No, not at all. I'm not for this.
I'm not saying you're wrong.
I'm saying it'd be nice if companies would allow for like a late start on, you know.
Agreed.
Agreed. We're going to give you this day off.
And if you all want to wait and start work at 10 a.m.
And still work your eight hours, you're going to have to work a little later.
But we'll let you come in at 10.
And we're not going to dock you for it.
See, I felt that way for years about Halloween.
Like I wish they would move that because it absolutely sucks for Halloween to fall on.
Well, Tuesday or Wednesday.
Or I don't, I don't want to certainly mind a Wednesday because I've already said,
I've always said like if I can have a four day 10 hour schedule,
I would use Wednesday as my day because work two days, have a day off.
Work two days, weekend.
But it's when it's a Tuesday or a Thursday that just blows the wheels off of everything.
Like this year Christmas is a Monday.
Last year Christmas was a Sunday, so we don't have leap year.
So it's just the next day.
Right.
That kind of messes with me because now I have to take the Friday before office for my 40 hours
because I won't go back until after the new year and not only get 40 hours to carry over.
Okay.
Yeah.
But when it's that Tuesday, Thursday, it throws me off.
And I agree with general.
If it's a Tuesday, Thursday, I think a lot of companies should either have a late start
or just give you that Monday, Friday off.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know, it just takes away from the specialness of the holiday.
Like it's the 4th of July.
It's where we celebrate our independence.
And you've got people that, you know, maybe you have to work that day and you get your double time
because you get the holiday pay.
But the holiday should still be the holiday.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I grew up in a house where we celebrated the holiday when we could, depending on like which parent was gone,
which one had to work or different things like that.
So to me, the day, and I get it, I'm the youngest in this room.
But the day doesn't mean that much to me.
And I know that that's a travesty to certain aspects.
But to me, it's all on top of the weekend.
That's what it's all about.
Move it to the weekend.
I'm good with it on the weekend because I'm also not thinking like there's any chance that my company's going to,
how do I say give a,
give a big note?
Yeah.
I have no delusions that my company's going to care about my sleep schedule or anything when it comes to a holiday.
Yeah.
And it's, it's kind of like, because we're at the same company like for Christmas,
they're going to give us the Friday before Christmas off.
And Christmas is on a Monday, but they want us back at work on Tuesday.
That is only for you guys.
I am having to work that whole time.
You have to work on, you've got Colin Christmas.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Alex is on Colin Christmas Day.
Oh God.
And New Year's.
Yuck.
Yeah.
But let's talk about that for a minute because I understand the logic behind that because in certain positions,
yeah, you have to have somebody.
Right.
You have coverage.
But, you know, from that aspect though, being on call those days, how many calls do you really get on those days?
You'd be surprised.
Okay.
That's why I'm asking.
Because I don't know.
Well, because we have other people that don't, in areas that don't acknowledge Christmas,
or we work with some really good people in India who have their own separate holiday.
And they're 11 and a half hours ahead anyway.
So halfway to Christmas is the day after.
You shout out to Pune, India.
At my job, we do a lot of work with people overseas.
Right.
And that makes conference calls kind of rough to deal with because, you know, 8 a.m. for us is 7.30 p.m. for them.
So it's, you're getting those schedules worked out as well.
And I get it from that aspect.
I just, to me, still, the holidays, the holiday.
And for people that work those holidays more often than not, there is a contingency plan for them.
A lot of times it's, we'll give you 8 hours of calm time, but you need to use it in that, in that pay period or whatever.
We got nothing.
And I just, I just feel like the holiday should be celebrating on the holiday.
And it's also something about the culture here in this country that I've seen,
that it's run by the companies as to days people get off.
Because I can remember as a kid, my dad had more paid days off than I get now.
I mean, it's changed to where we want you in the office, we want you working.
Or we'll find somebody that will.
Yeah.
And you look at other countries like in France, you can't email your employees after hours.
It is actually against the law to do that because when you're off, you need to be off
because they found that people need that mental time off.
Oh, I agree with you.
You know, I mean, I sit here and talk about this, but I mean, I work two jobs.
So I'm already working 60 hour weeks.
So, you know, I probably don't want to talk about not taking time off because I'm thinking,
I know great, I can work on the second job on Wednesday and hit my hours.
And that's always an interesting thing too, when you have people that work remotely.
Yeah.
That changes the dynamic too, because this is a, this is a dynamic that we didn't deal with 20, 25 years ago,
when a lot of us, and I say mainly Chad and myself, because we are men of a certain age.
Well, I'm six months behind you.
But I give you credit for that.
Where we talk about things like 20, 25 years ago, working remotely wasn't really a thing.
No, it wasn't.
Because for you to do that, you had to deal with this noise.
You didn't even have that necessarily.
I mean, I'm thinking when I was a kid, you know, my dad would actually have to take the day off work
and yeah, he might be on some phone calls, but there wasn't a way for him to work at home
when I was in elementary school.
So yeah, it's a strange dynamic, but I still think we've got to celebrate the holiday on the holiday
because it takes away from the holiday.
And all holidays, Fourth of July is kind of important for us to start refocusing on.
And plus you've got so much else going on right now with things like the World Cup and things of that nature
where in some cases I've seen companies that have taken concession for that.
Even with America not in it.
We have such a diverse culture now that you have people that I work with that are very invested in it
because they're home countries and it's a big deal to them.
Where I remember even when we were in it a few years ago, we had a TV down in our cafe
and when America was playing brother, I mean,
is anybody working?
But that's part of the deal.
And maybe it's just because I'm an older guy and I'm rooted in these traditions.
I just want us to have the holiday on the holiday.
And not, hey, let's celebrate the Fourth of July on June 30th.
No.
That's a beating.
Or July 7th.
Even after the holiday is worse.
That's the end. That's even worse.
You're like, yeah, America.
That point we've already passed best deal day.
But again, it got to the point where it's now it's the United States of America.
No, but at the same time.
But you've got certain holidays like Memorial Day.
Last Monday in May.
Labor Day.
First Monday in September.
Well, we just changed the Fourth of July.
Stop calling it the Fourth of July.
Call it Independence Day.
Which really, it's the name of it anyway.
Right, yeah.
But that's my point.
It's just take any holiday that has a number in it.
Throw that out the window.
But I think that's really on whatever Friday or Monday we want.
Isn't that really the only one that we refer to by?
Besides, is that in Cinco de Mayo?
I think that's all you've got.
And I've never understand why anybody other than Hispanics
celebrates Cinco de Mayo to be quiet.
Because Margaritas are half off that.
That's exactly.
But we also have a very rich Hispanic heritage where we live.
It's true.
And Texas is a very strange case study too.
Because I didn't know about things like Marty Grah
or recently celebrated Juneteenth
or things like Cinco de Mayo.
I didn't know about those things until I moved here
because of the rich heritage that we have.
You know, we live in a state where kids take Texas history in school.
We didn't take Florida history.
It was like Ponce Daily Own.
That's what we got.
We got world history because Florida wasn't part of the US history.
And as far as the Texas history,
my Texas history book in seventh grade weighed 15 pounds.
Because Texas has a...
Yeah, they knew they were going to come at all.
But they still let us have a 15 pound text book.
Texas has a very rich history.
So things like that I understand why we observe it
because of the diverse cultures that we have in Texas.
So, you know, you've got Louisiana right there.
You've got Mexico right there.
You've got New Mexico right there.
So you also have with Oklahoma too.
You have a rich Native American history that's observed as well.
But again, those two holidays, Cinco de Mayo, Fourth of July,
I think are the only ones that are thought of in that way.
Yeah.
Or the data is actually part of the Native holiday.
Yeah, I think so.
Well, and Halloween would be the only one
where the data is part of it.
But it's not as big of a celebration.
What do you mean?
I'm talking about the name of the data.
No, okay, she's referring to holidays that have a specific date.
Right, like Christmas.
Right.
Easter is flexible because it's the Sunday after the Monday
after the personal full moon of spring.
For those of you that don't know,
that's how Easter's calculated.
I just thought it was whenever they told me it was.
Well, there it is that.
That's it.
But if you have the first full, you have the first day of spring,
then whenever that first full moon is,
the following week is Holy Week.
That's how you remember.
It's weird.
Sorry, I've already lost it.
I know.
It's on the calendar.
I don't have to do this again.
It's the new math.
I don't have to do this.
Just let the holiday be the holiday.
That's all I'm saying.
Yeah, I agree.
All right, let's move on because it's time to talk,
major league baseball.
Because what else have we got to talk about in sports right now?
Because I haven't been whipped enough today.
Hey, four weeks from training camp, sir.
That's all I'm saying.
Four weeks from training camp.
I don't know where, what are you doing?
I keep looking at my Miami Dolphins cups and my cupboard.
I'm like, we're almost there.
Because you guys know me in my OCD.
I will not wear the gear.
I will not use the cups unless we are in season.
And I'm at the point now because it used to be,
I didn't do it till week one.
I'm so start for football now.
I'm like, I'm rounding it up to training camp.
I don't care.
All of them game.
Start.
Yeah.
Actually, I'm going for them.
Yeah.
And by the way, for the four to week one,
because that's my every year, I get that week off.
And for those of you that don't know,
your hard knocks this year is the Cleveland Browns.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, what titles more apropos to a team?
I'm just saying.
Poor Tyrant Taylor.
Oh.
And you know what?
I want to send a shout out to Baker Mayfield for him going after.
Call her hard like he did.
Oh.
That was a great clip.
That was, that was some gusto.
We'll call it.
But did you see the Instagram posts of Josh Gordon?
No.
That dude is one pop vein away from getting hit for P.E.D.'s.
He is a wide receiver who came in weighing like 114 pounds
soak and wet out of bailer.
And now he's like 260 of mud.
More jarring.
That or Mike Bibi.
Well, do you see Mike Bibi?
I still am not sure isn't Photoshop.
Russ says that apparently Detroit does theirs on the,
they're fireworks on the last Monday of June.
So they'll be doing theirs tomorrow.
Congrats.
But that's weird because that's still a weekday.
But, you know, say.
All right.
So let's go to Stanies in the American League East.
The Baltimore Orioles.
They are 30 games below 500.
Does it?
I remember when Baltimore was a thing.
It's still the best stadium in the M.O.B.
But you know what?
He's still in America's favorite game show this week.
And who is?
May shock you.
I'm just saying.
They are 27 and a half games out of first.
They are five.
I know they're 12 games back on Toronto.
Let that sink in.
Toronto is a half game back on my beloved raise.
But they are 14 games behind Boston and New York
who are tied right now.
And race.
And the Yankees have lost three in a row.
And since just one, you know, there's five and five in their last 10.
Well, they're waiting to deal with the whole Hanley Ramirez thing.
In the A.O. Central, the Kansas City Royals are 23 and 54 right now.
They've lost nine of their last 10 yikes.
And they are 20 and a half back in the division.
They're three back on the White Sox.
The White Sox are nine and a half back on Minnesota
who's tied with Detroit.
And they're both eight games back on Cleveland.
But again, don't start showing Major League yet.
It's only June in the A.O. West.
No, show Major League whenever you want.
Don't start showing Major League two yet.
Don't look now, Chad.
But your Rangers are seven and three in their last 10.
I mean, sure, they're still in last place.
Yeah, 18 games back.
They're still in the cellar.
But they're, but they're, by the way, speaking of your Rangers,
grand opening of that new complex without the ballpark yet
will be the first weekend in August.
So the entertainment part of the new Rangers complex
is getting its grand opening in the first weekend of August.
They won't be playing there.
I believe it's a 2020, if I'm not mistaken.
I believe that's correct.
But yeah, they're getting ahead and start on that deal.
That's impressive.
They're trying to open that so that they can pay for part of the stadium.
I'll bet it is.
Yeah.
I'll bet it is.
They are seven and a half back on Oakland.
Oakland is a half game back on the Los Angeles Angels
of Anaheim Los Angeles County, California,
North America, North America, Earth Milky Way.
They are six and a half back on Seattle.
Seattle's four and a half back on Houston right now.
Houston's, they're, they're not playing consistent ball right now.
I feel like they're playing, well, they're playing well enough to keep it moving.
I feel like they've reached that point where they're like,
there is no real competition for us.
We just got to get to the tournament.
I mean, they've got a plus 169 run differential.
So they got something going there.
Let's go to the National League.
Yeah, it's Kate Upton.
How you doing?
And let's go to the NL West, the San Diego Padres.
How bad is it when you're 10 games below 500,
but you're 10 and a half back in the division?
You want to talk about locked up in a tight one?
Yeah.
10 and a half games between worst to first.
Because they're only, they're only four and a half back on Colorado.
Colorado's of game back on San Francisco.
San Francisco was two and a half back on Misty's Beloved Dodgers.
But the Dodgers can't seem to win their way out of a paper bag right now.
Well, I don't know what's going on out there in LA.
Well, they just got Kershaw back.
So that's going to give them a boost.
And LA is two and a half back on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
In the NL Central.
Sorry, sir.
What do you mean?
You're Cincinnati Reds.
I do not root for the Reds.
I hate the entire city of Cincinnati.
And I say it every chance I get.
You're drawing me off right now.
But the Cincinnati is 17 in a row.
I can't.
That doesn't mean I have to like them.
They're 12 games below 500.
They're 13 back in the division.
They're four games back on Don's Pirates.
The Pirates are four and a half back on St. Louis.
St. Louis, a game and a half back on the Cubs.
The Cubs are two back on Millowock A.
Again, let's not start hanging banners yet.
It's a June Milwaukee.
And in the only division that matters, the NL East.
My beloved Marlins.
And they're not America's favorite game show this week.
You know, that's sink in.
Yeah, no, I'm just saying right now.
I love the Marlins because if it wasn't for them,
the bets had been last.
You know, speaking of things in this town sports,
and this town, congratulations to your Maverick, sir.
For the draft.
Got the Luca Dottic.
And his mother.
I don't know if you know about that.
Apparently his mother is quite the supermodel
and is taking a lot of Instagram posts right now about her.
God bless you.
But you know, you know, Lucas is in a great place
because you know how he's learning English.
He's watching friends.
And he has professed his crush on Jennifer Aniston.
Of course.
Which quote of the week goes to Gonzalo Lebitard.
Oh no.
I was watching, I was listening to highly questionable
because I get it as a podcast every day.
My wife had come home.
She had a very long day.
She wanted to take a little bit of a nap before dinner.
And you guys know me well enough.
I respect my wife very highly.
I want to make sure she has what she needs
as her husband I need to attend to her needs.
When you catch me off guard so loud
that I laugh so loud that I felt bad.
Because you know, also in that same post
where he wanted to date with Jennifer Aniston,
he said he wants to own a tiger.
Gonzalo Lebitard.
Oh no.
Says maybe it's not a tiger.
He's looking for it's a cougar.
Yeah, yeah.
I laughed so loud.
I felt bad that I think I may have scared my wife.
Yeah.
God bless you, Poppy.
But in the NL East,
my Marowans are 30 and 47.
But again, not America's favorite game show this week.
Kids.
Think about that.
They're 14 and a half back.
They're two and a half back on.
Wait.
Come on.
Saying it quieter doesn't help.
No.
Dad, come on.
What?
Push the button.
Hi, Carmelo.
Wow, wow.
The Mets are nine back on the Natinals.
The Natinals are a half game back on Philly.
Philly now two back on Atlanta.
Philly's got their own problems right now.
What do you think about that story this week, sir?
What's that?
Do you not know what happened with the Philly?
No.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, yes, yes, yes.
Jen, are you up to date?
So there's a lady in Philly.
Godlover.
Should we just start with the words hotdog, can it?
The Phanatic has a Philly Phanatic.
Great mascot.
Yes.
I know that is because I watched the video.
ESPN throughout a stat this week.
In 2002, the Phanatic was the most sued mascot in the league.
She has this hotdog cannon.
And this thing is so unique.
It has its own documentary, apparently.
Bet launches taped up hotdogs into the crowd.
Well, the lady wasn't paying attention.
Smacked her right in a face.
She had already been having some, she had broken a bone or something.
She's not suing the team.
She's actually taking this in stride.
She said, you know what, go ahead and laugh because it's funny.
Yeah.
Now Philly probably could have done a little bit better by her.
We'll give you a ticket to enough coming in.
No, you give that woman season tickets.
Yeah, no, no.
Because she's getting you full publicity.
She's not suing you.
You have to think about where you're talking about.
But if it wasn't for the start of this country,
Philly would have nothing going for it, but Pat's and Jenos.
And by the way, Philly's still too back on my Atlanta Braves.
So what's their win total?
My wins, my Atlanta's win total right now?
Yes.
44 and 32.
Oh, I'm thinking about a percentage of how many?
5.79 win percentage.
Thanks, sir.
Oh, I'm thinking about about 77 and a half.
We are almost halfway there.
No, we're over halfway there.
We're past the halfway.
I told you, I don't do that.
We're past the halfway point to me having two wins this year.
I'm very excited about this.
Because we're not to the halfway point this season yet.
We got what, two more weeks to the break?
A couple more weeks, yeah.
So yeah, with 70, 70.
What are we looking for?
Like a 77 and a half.
We need 78 wins.
You're the one with the 10 people.
That's what we're focused on right now.
We're focused on 78 wins right now.
All right, so let's get to America's favorite game show
and get ready for it.
And get ready, Russ, because it's time to play.
What is the run differential for the Kansas City Royals?
Oh, boy.
Worst run differential in the league right now is the
what, were they were in the World Series?
What, two years ago?
Yeah, you want to rub that one in on the meds, too?
Well, that's all.
There's with the meds, all I'm saying is fish and a barrel.
Have I not suffered enough?
Oh, my God.
Chad, what is the run differential for the Kansas City Royals?
That's stadium right on the freeway.
I've driven past it.
Looks great at night.
Right next to there, negative 104.
Chad says negative 104, general.
Negative 125.
She says negative 125, Alex.
You know, I'm not going to play that game.
I'll go 135.
He is saying negative 135.
We're going to wait for Russ to out to Russ.
Actually, I guess he had to go.
Let's go through it, because he's not on right now.
The Kansas City Royals, by the way, again,
in the World Series two years ago,
they are 23 and 54 right now.
They have a 299 win percentage.
They are 20 and a half games back.
10 of their 23 wins are at home.
They've lost two in a row.
They're one in nine in their last 10.
Closest without going over.
We'll be Alex this week, but you still ain't close.
The funny thing is, I was thinking 150 before they said anything.
You'd have been one off.
The Kansas City Royals run differential
is a negative 151 right now.
Yikes.
That may be the worst ever.
No, remember we had somebody that was up in the 170s one year.
Oh, we did?
Again, it's still early.
We've got three months left at a season.
So if you like offense, but don't really care about who's scoring.
Now, go watch your Royals game.
Wow.
The grief we've been giving the Rangers.
Let's put this into perspective.
You know what the Rangers run differential is right now?
I'm probably afraid to ask.
Minus 63.
Oh.
Let that sink in.
Jeez.
That's...
The Marlins are at minus 116.
Is that second for Morst?
No, there's one more between them.
Now, you're met.
No, this is not to rag on you.
I want to show you perspective.
You're at minus 49 right now.
You're better than the Rangers.
By 18 runs.
We need Cinderguard back.
Minus 151.
It's June.
It's June.
It's June.
Tanking has officially arrived in the Major League.
Jeez.
God.
Wait a minute.
I just realized something.
Isn't this coming draft, like not this one that just happened,
but next year is the one that everybody was talking about.
There's some kid coming out who is...
Might as well be played by Robert Redford in the natural home.
I can neither confirm nor deny that.
I feel like there's something about that.
There's some kid coming out who's going to blow everybody out of the water.
And that's what the Nationals did.
Was they tanked hard when Bryce Harper was coming up?
Yeah.
And Bryce Harper is tanking his own.
All right.
Let's talk music.
Only one music headline this week.
And it's kind of a weird one.
Somebody has publicly said they have turned down the Super Bowl halftime show.
And it's not somebody that I would see as headlining the Super Bowl halftime show.
I would be totally cool with it because I'm a huge fan of this individual.
But not somebody...
Right. It is an individual.
And it's not...
I appreciate the moxie of the league asking because I think it would be a great show because I'm a huge fan.
But I don't know that this is somebody that a lot of people would go, oh, okay.
His wife has done the halftime show.
So are we talking about somebody who's essentially two letters?
No. Well, you could say it as two letters.
That's the point.
It's not spelled that way.
Jay-Z.
Hmm.
Again, I would be totally okay with it.
I'm a huge Jay.
You know I'm a huge Jay-Z fan because I like Jay-Z number one.
He makes good music.
Number two.
He doesn't write down those lyrics.
I respect that.
Only two rappers in history.
Him and Biggie.
That's the list.
Hmm.
Where is the Super Bowl this year?
That's a dog on good question.
I'll look it up.
Because you figured we'd start talking about it at this point because we're almost a training camp.
And T.O. still not going to the Hall of Fame ceremony.
I really need to get a confirmation on that.
Is if he gets signed, does that reset his clock?
Oh, good morning.
Well, no, that's an excellent question because they, uh,
McAfee had an NFL insider on his show who by the way,
and credit, I'm giving credit to the Matt Pat McAfee show because this guy didn't.
He's the one that told this NFL insider that T.O. wasn't going to be there.
They broke it to him and his tweet was,
sources say.
I'm like, no, Pat McAfee told you.
Mm-hmm.
By the way, that was on McAfee show the other day.
What is he really?
He toes the line very well.
McAfee kind of got into loosening up a little bit,
but he toes the line really well.
I can't believe we didn't remember this.
It's the, it's the new Atlanta stadium.
Oh, Mercedes-Benz stadium?
Uh, yeah.
Great stadium.
Yeah, so that's their big debut.
Boy, parking sucks for that stadium.
Well, you just described most of Atlanta.
Yeah, that's true.
Did Jay-Z give the reason why?
Because he, no, he just said that he turned it down.
Does anybody want to venture a guess?
Well, I mean, he may know the work that goes into it.
I may not want to do that.
He has been on the other side of it.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, I mean, he's been a part of it with his wife.
Yeah.
I mean, I would be okay if they did it together
because they're touring together again.
Right, and then?
I would be okay because, again,
she, as weird as this for me to say,
she's the bigger name there,
and I don't know.
I think even he would go, you know what?
I don't know that I could draw the ratings
that the NFL would want for a full blown half-time show.
Because, again, I love Jay-Z.
I think he's a genius.
And it could also be that because they're on tour right now.
He just doesn't have the time to give to it.
Chad's shaking his head.
I don't think that's it.
Okay.
He don't think he could censor himself.
No, two words.
Anthem policy.
That's also a possibility.
Yeah, that does make a lot of sense.
Yeah, that's the fair point.
That's the first thing I thought of.
I'm not saying that that's what it is.
I'll go one step further with you.
What's that?
What's his big venture been lately?
He's the agent for people.
There might be a conflict of interest there.
That's the fair point.
Yeah.
That's a fair point.
Yeah, rock nation represents.
So.
Hmm.
Oh, that, that segment went longer than I thought it would.
Sorry.
Oh, no, that's a good thing.
No, that's true.
Music new releases this week.
A name that we haven't said in a long time
back with an album called Gravity.
The bullet for my Valentine.
Come on.
My kid was way better than your daughter.
Your daughter was very beginning to shout out to your daughter.
Working hard.
Yes, she is.
Yeah, she is.
I love my daughter very much.
The Drizzy.
Or Drizzy or whatever.
The Drake.
But you know what?
I got to give him props.
And I'm going to tell you why.
His new video.
Is a digressy reunion.
With Jay and Silent Bob.
Oh, nice.
Kevin's in it.
And he said that.
You know, he goes, Drake pulled up in his Lambo.
Because he does.
He goes.
But he treated everybody just like they'd been.
They never stopped making the show.
Like he said, Drake was really, really cool to everybody.
So I can't.
That's Canadian.
Did I?
Did I tell you what?
What was the final male in the coffin for Drake?
What I found out who his uncle was.
Mm-hmm.
One.
Not Larry Graham.
Yes.
Larry Grace is uncle.
Yes.
But you can't blame him for that.
I just say.
He's guilty by association.
You can't blame him for that.
He whips me anyway.
But just knowing that he's connected to him by blood.
Now, if you had a Drake autograph and he called you one in a million, then you could hate him.
I'm just not a fan of the guy's music.
I just...
I just...
But my thing was Drake, just the number of...
When he did the hotline bling video and the number of things of him waving his hand back and forth.
My favorite was the guy with the...
Where they put a tennis racket in his hand.
Like...
That was funny.
You talking about the Wii Shop music video?
Yes.
I loved that.
Also this week, Florence and the Machine with a brand new album called Highest Hope.
I'm sure that...
That means two things.
I don't have other things to think about.
Gorillas.
New album this week.
Wow.
Called The Now Now.
Which I don't know if that's a take on the old George Lopez bit of right now right now.
But...
And Ray Davies.
Got nothing.
The neck?
Really?
That's Ray Davies.
That's his band.
Wow.
Got nothing.
With an album called Our Country.
I mean, we may have to verify that.
But I'm pretty sure that's Ray Davies' from the neck.
Our Country Americana Act 2.
That's what his new album is called.
All right.
Deep breath.
Oh boy.
Because it's time for In Memorium.
Yeah.
And it's heavy on two fronts.
The Kinks.
The Kinks.
I knew I was one of those.
I had a 50-50 shot and took the wrong one.
All right.
You have a couple of letters, right?
Do we want to do this?
Do we have two people to talk about this week?
Well, before we go to the famous ones.
Yes, ma'am.
Well, we have two famous ones to talk about.
I said before we go to the famous ones.
Please.
I had a Remembrance service I went to yesterday for my friend's father, Gary Don Thomas.
Brilliant man.
And it was an amazing ceremony.
And I'm glad we got to do a Remembrance of him and his life.
And our deepest to you and his family as well.
Thank you.
And safe travels to the family heading home back to Missouri the day.
It was quite powerful to hear such wonderful things said about somebody.
I only hope that when it's my time I have a quarter of that said about me.
Indeed.
Indeed.
So, sorry.
But since we're going to go to processing anyway, do we want to go chronologically?
Because these are two, especially to the people that tend to listen to this show.
Both of these are pretty heavy hitters.
Yeah.
How do you want to do this?
We want to do this in order of their passing.
Order of passing.
All right, so let's start with Leon White.
Also known as Big Van Vater who passed away this week at 63.
Did you ever verify? Is he in the hall?
I did not finish that research, but I wanted to talk about it.
I have this vision of him wearing the mask.
And it's time to talk.
Yeah.
I'm assuming that he is in, but we'll verify that in the WWE Hall of Fame.
If you are a fan of wrestling in the last, God, what, 40 years probably?
This is a guy.
He was a Vater.
He was Big Van Vater.
He always had, it's time.
It's a Vater time.
And at one point that led his theme music.
Mm-hmm.
I mean, who didn't this guy work with?
I mean, he hit every major.
I don't.
Actually, I don't think he did.
Did he do a run in ECW?
I don't think he did.
No, he did not.
He was mainly with WCW and WW.
They were thinking about doing him in ECW, but he did a tour in Japan again.
Okay.
Wait, wait, wait.
Are we saying he wasn't in WCW?
No, he was.
No, he was.
ECW.
Okay, okay.
No, right now we're just looking to see if he is not.
He is not.
He's not in the WWE Hall of Fame.
He wanted to be, and they never did for whatever reason.
And Foley is apparently pushing hard to get him inducted.
He should be.
He should be in the Hall of Fame.
He should be in the Hall of Fame.
There's no doubt.
Without him, is there really a Braun Strowman?
Let me give you that one just for today's sake.
That's a good point.
That's fair.
But I mean, that man would do anything in a match.
And I still remember seeing the video of him and Stan Hansen in Japan.
The dude got his eye knocked out, pushed it back in and finished the match.
That's how you do it.
That's his commitment.
He was a worker.
I don't know that I've ever heard a bad word said about him.
This was a guy that was loved in the locker room.
Loved mentoring the next generation because I've always said the most important job of any type of leader
is to foster the next generation of leaders and he did that.
Last I heard him, he did Austin's podcast at one point.
Had a lot of great things to say.
I mean, this is a guy.
You can say what you want about Hogan.
But there's a short list of people that knew how to work with Hogan and how to get Hogan to work.
He is on that list.
I got another one for you with all that.
Please.
Vager could work with anybody.
And I don't know if you saw the video relatively recently within the last couple of years where he worked with Will Osprey.
Wow.
A smaller Will Osprey, not bigger Will Osprey as he is now.
And I bought in.
I'm not even kidding.
I was watching it and the way they set it up was great.
And I mean, dude was 60 something and he was working with Osprey.
And he was managed at one point he was managed by Colonel Tom Parker if I remember correctly.
I think he's had a few go through and I think Parker is one of them.
This was the guy that, you know, I don't know that he ever really worked face.
He was just a guy that he was a great heal and he was one of these guys that even got face heat as a heal.
Right.
You know, great guy legend in this business.
Superbowl winning as well.
Yes.
He won with the Rams.
I did not know that.
That was new information to me.
But the only thing I think I've ever heard negative about him was that he could work very stiff.
Yeah.
And there was a story about a match he did with Ken Shamrock when Shamrock was coming in.
And Shamrock was trying to shoot to make it look believable.
And Vager decked him.
Yeah.
Well speaking of, wasn't he the guy that like almost went to prison in the Middle East for getting physical with the reporter that was interviewing him?
I can either confirm nor deny that.
I'm trying to find that.
But the counter to that was he could work stiff and make anything look believable.
But behind the scenes he was known as a big teddy bear for the most.
Yeah.
You got to gather that.
And I believe it was in Mick Foley's first book.
Because it was actually with Vader when he almost had it or when he had his ear partially ripped off doing the hangman between the two robes.
And I believe Mick said when he got to the back Leon was back there crying because he was worried about his friend.
And then oh there it is.
Yeah.
He was in Kuwait.
Okay.
And then yesterday afternoon when I was at the Who Need Sleep meeting.
I just happened to open Facebook and saw a post with a friend of mine reporting the death of Vinnie Paul at 54.
And it kind of stopped me down and I'm like, is this real?
And other people in the room like, yeah, it happened last night.
I was also told oddly enough the entity that broke the story with the Dallas stars Twitter feed.
Yeah, that doesn't shock me.
Because again, for those of you that don't know Vinnie Paul drummer for Pantera.
They're from here.
Yeah.
They have they the song that Dallas stars come out to is a Pantera song.
Which we've for 20 years now have loved.
And it was just just scraps of three different songs they threw together.
And it became its own entity in this town.
His brother died back Darryl, who was viciously gunned down at a concert.
Vinnie then went on to form Hell Yeah.
And they've been doing after damage plan.
Yeah.
And damage plan to man is a legend.
Period.
Like when when one of your local sports teams wins the championship.
And all they can talk about is the party at your house.
I mean, that's a level of baller 99.9 repeating.
Yeah.
And when you're on the radio talking about it and one of the Dallas stars calls in and goes easy.
Be careful with what stories you tell.
You know, I mean the man had a pool shape like a crown royal bottle.
That's just be real.
I mean, the guy you would be hard pressed to find anyone who had a bad word to say about Vinnie Paul.
He couldn't be nicer.
Yes.
I was in the stars club.
Somebody bumped into me or I bumped into them.
Don't know which.
No clue who he was.
And he couldn't have been nicer to me.
And you know, had a great conversation.
And I walk away.
And my friend goes, that was Vinnie Paul.
Yeah, he told me his name.
And she's like, you don't understand.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You don't understand.
And she filled me in.
And I'm like, okay, well, that's cool, but he's still a really nice guy.
And apparently he heard me say that.
And later he came back past and he says, it's so nice to know that somebody likes me for me.
And not for my history.
And passed away in his sleep in his house in Las Vegas.
To my knowledge at this point, we still don't have a cause of death.
I don't believe it's been.
It's been 24, man.
And respect the family if they release it great, if they don't, that's their choice.
But he will be very next to his brother here in Arlington.
I've actually been to the grave site.
He and his mother and his brother will all be together.
Oh, good.
And the outpouring of support from all over multiple industries that I have seen has been amazing.
They did some work, of course, with WWE at one point.
We have some friends of ours that knew him very, very well.
That we send our love to as well.
And then they've named themselves, but I'm going to not name them.
So because we want to respect their privacy as well.
I can't even imagine what that service is going to be like.
The airport better be ready for all those planes that are coming in.
I bet the music's good.
Well, I mean, like a dime bags funeral, I mean, it was insane.
They had to have it at the Arlington Convention Center and they packed that joint.
So like I said, two heavy hitters this week.
Well, there's actually one other one that if you please don't mind.
No, please.
Coco the gorilla.
Yes, that's right.
And that was weird because correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Coco in that segment of won't you be my neighbor?
Yes, yes.
We just saw a reason when she first met him, she took his shoes off.
Yeah.
Also the same girl that learned enough sign language to blame a kitten for a sink being ripped out of the wall.
There you go.
And the footage of her with Robin Williams as well.
Oh, yeah.
And that documentary about to hit here in a couple of weeks.
Yes.
But there's a lot of and just coming from the psychology background as much as people could learn from Coco who learned ASL.
And that moved to the American Sign Language.
Thank you.
But that move just behavioral psychology light years forward to be able to do some of the stuff that we do now.
Whether it be, you know, speech or therapies, medications, different things like that.
It may have a thin line drawn to it, but that helped in so many ways that people don't even think about.
Apparently, that just broke.
Jeez.
Johnny Bravo and Dexter's lab animator Ruman Petrov dies at 70.
Man.
We're on fire this week.
All right.
Good mercy.
All right.
Let us combine our loves of pop culture and sport as we introduce our wrestling segment.
We are the kingdoms.
The greatest group in Ring of Honor history.
And you, my friends, you are checking out the clubhouse podcast.
Fight the conspiracy and be one of us.
Yeah.
Meltings.
All right.
Should we just open by apologizing to the kingdom for LA?
No.
We're doing that.
Sammy Zane taking time off.
He tore both his rotator cuff.
Yes.
Me and shoulders.
Good.
So that's why his match at Money in the Bank was as short as it was.
And you know what?
He did the job.
Respect to that pay-per-view.
That pay-per-view is better than it had to be.
Absolutely.
Very much enjoyed it.
So we'll talk more about that when Extreme Rules comes up July 15th, which already...
There already may be a spoiler out.
Mm-hmm.
Shh.
All right, Vince.
If this is what you want to do.
I'm not willing to say what that spoiler is because we are spoiler free on this show.
But I will say this.
Get ready for summer slam.
Somebody texted me what he's talking about because I really want to know where I'll meet the mics all done.
Okay.
So there you go.
Yeah.
Nice.
Okay.
Yeah, but that's been one of the things floated for a while.
So like I said, all of my notes on RAW this week are questions.
Question number one comes from the opening segments.
And it's for Alexa Bliss.
Did she have some type of injury on her right orbital bone or was that just bad makeup?
I believe that was bad makeup.
But the other part was just trying to keep makeup away because if you've noticed when Rousey picked her up,
she kept spotting to make sure that she knew exactly where she was going to end.
Okay.
Because you're working with an amateur and kudos to her for being willing to take a spot like that from somebody who's never done it.
Yeah.
But it just, if you looked, if you look at her right or right, right around the orbital bone,
it looked like there was some spotiness there.
And I wasn't sure if they were trying to cover something up that she had hurt herself or if it was just bad makeup.
Nothing recent.
There was something in 2014 and then in 2016, but nothing recent.
Okay.
I'll have to watch you again tomorrow night.
But yeah, if you look closer, she just keeps peeking out of her.
Speaking of Ronda.
And for those playing the whole game, he's rubbing his eyes furiously.
I'm really trying hard to roll with this.
I am really, really tre-
No, I'm not.
Is this a heel turner?
Are we turning her into Austin?
What are we doing?
I wish it wasn't the Austin thing, but that's what they keep going back to is it worked.
She's suspended for 30 days and she's rebelling against authority.
If you're gonna do this, you have to turn angle heel.
Because Austin McMahon doesn't work if there's not a McMahon.
Well, that's what-
And Lord knows I don't want it to be staff.
Which I think is what their endgame is.
Because that's it.
Because that's it.
She said beef with full of others.
Well, because I have a feeling that the way they try to transition into that is
Kurt getting removed, replaced, whatever it is that they're doing with Corbin.
Who I will say is actually doing good work as Constable Corbin.
We'll get to him.
Yeah.
Bias.
I'm not talking about Corbin.
Okay, Fair enough.
I'm not- I'm not too in yet.
We have a new intercontinental champion.
Does that tell you anything?
Because he's here to show the world.
Oh my god.
And he's got a very large Scotch backup.
Yep.
But the rematch will happen next week.
Seth is invoking the rematch clause.
Which I kind of want Seth to lose this match because I need him back in the world title picture.
Or the universal championship of the universe or whatever we're calling it this week.
It's a little layout that we don't get a clean finish here and that winds up an extreme rules match.
I mean, that would be a fun match to watch for them.
I think it really would be as well.
But I think that's where their endgame is for that story.
And I want that to be a ladder match.
Oh please.
Is the intercontinental championship?
Why wouldn't you?
Absolutely.
So is Coach the heel announcer?
Is Graves the heel announcer?
Can we just make a decision?
Coach is the idiot.
And Graves is the champion.
This is driving me crazy because I know that people say that we don't have room in this industry
in this age for heel announcers.
I believe we do.
But maybe it's just because I'm old school like that.
But we need to decide who's going to do it and stick with it.
I can't stand that whole thing.
It's driving me crazy.
Well, I can't stand heel announcers.
I really don't understand why I think this.
And maybe because I'm along for the days of people like Larry Sabisco or Bobby Heenan
who's the greatest heel announcer in the history of ever.
Because these guys aren't even close.
They cannot cut it.
I just don't buy it.
They just come off as being smarmy.
And speaking of Ziegler, I really feel like they need two more guys and they need to form a stable.
Because they're doing great work, but there need to be more of them.
Give them the revival.
Give them the revival.
Let that be the tag team.
You know what?
I'd be okay with that.
I would be fine with that because that segment was a little long.
He thought his way out.
He signed the deal from what I've heard.
Really?
That's been the story on and off for three years.
Yeah.
It's Dolph Ziegler.
He signed the deal.
And even in his own words, he signed the deal because I'm not turning down that much money.
Yeah, I would imagine.
And they're pushing him to the moon.
And no way Jose, welcome to the company.
You've now jobbed to Mojo Raleigh.
Let that sink in for a minute.
And we're changing the Mojo Raleigh character.
Wait, wait.
Not only did he jobbed to Mojo Raleigh, he jobbed to Mojo Raleigh who didn't get an entrance.
Yeah.
You want to hit that fail horn now?
I can be one moment.
I will do so.
Here you go.
Mojo.
But he's right.
Mojo was in already in the ring.
Oh no.
So now Mojo remember, he used to ask if you...
I used to say I'm always hype.
Now, I'm always focused.
I like this guy, but dear God, this is a retinacy in level of unbookable.
Wait, did you laugh as hard as I did right before the lights out-screen when he was coming off the ropes into the corner?
Okay, so Mojo's spot where there is the guys in the corner and he comes from basically the opposite corner, not the opposite corner, but the adjacent corner.
Uh-huh.
And does a forearm go all out, old Lex Luger?
He just screamed lights out and it was so clear because the entire arena could not care.
You could hear him clear as day.
And it was like-
The sound of the arena was deafening?
Yes.
Wow, this guy is like Brooklyn Brawler level.
No, he won.
Yeah, it's fair.
No, no, no, no.
That's all I have to say about that.
I still don't understand why no way.
So is Corbin just not doing ring gear now?
I kind of dig this.
He wrestled in a button-down shirt with the vest-
With the attack.
By way.
Slacks and-
Where does loafers he was wearing?
I'm always going on there.
I think they were just-
I think they were boots made that look like professional gear.
The shoes cost more than your happy meal.
Yeah.
You are a huge nerd.
It really, really good news.
God, I want Corbin to be better.
I really do.
And he knows McAfee.
They played together.
Yeah.
So did you guys know what-
Wow is.
It's a women's promotion.
Women of wrestling.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Access TV will start carrying their television rights.
Very, very soon if they haven't already.
So you think maybe this is kind of their springboarding off the success of the glow series?
I'm okay with it either way.
Because there's some great talent in that promotion.
And there's some great talent that's come out of that promotion.
But Alex has an interesting theory of why the-
It's access TV carrying them.
Would you share it?
Sure, sure.
I will jump in on this one.
Please do.
Access's big foot in the door has been New Japan.
And how great New Japan has been doing?
The Japan is great.
Don't you know?
New Japan doesn't do women's wrestling.
In fact, they just don't cover it.
And they've been catching a lot of flak for that.
This TV is, hey, we're partnered with New Japan.
And now we're partnered with Women of Wrestling.
We got both covered.
So what else could come from?
She was in-
Shimmer?
Shimmer and Noah.
I think she did work with Noah.
And that's where the Suzuki thing happened.
Okay.
Okay.
That's pro-resting Noah.
N-O-A-E.
Is it A-H?
N-O-A-H.
Okay.
And they get featured on impact every once and again.
They have a crossover there.
Ray Mysterio is all in.
And what?
He's going to be at all in.
Which is the big show that the Bucks and Cody, remember?
Oh, you weren't with us.
At R-O-H.
Oh, it's not until 2019.
They were making it like it's coming soon.
Yeah.
Noah actually has a deal with WWE now.
Oh, okay.
And that's where Atami is being the bridge.
Okay.
The All-In show that they're doing in Chicago.
That basically the Bucks and Cody are booking on their own.
Ray Mysterio is all in, but he doesn't know who he's facing yet.
And Cody, it's okay.
You don't have to book Flip.
Flip Gordon.
Or Cheeseburger.
Yeah.
They haven't even talked about it.
We say the Cheeseburger too.
You give my boy the highest man I'm out on you.
Book Marty.
I'll watch that all day.
Well, interestingly, that's your transition,
is because Ray was just on Dominion in a six-man tag,
working with Marty, Hangman,
and drawing a blank on the other.
But essentially it was three Bullet Club members against Ray
and a couple of the new Japan guys.
And had a pretty interesting mask,
which was half New Japan logo, half Ray logo.
And they did the job.
The Bullet Club went over everywhere.
Carmella is on a stray on a promotion tour.
She may not be on SmackDown Live this week.
Cheese on Australia?
Cheese on an Australian promotional tour.
Okay.
Just check.
So now let's talk about the elephant in the room.
Which one?
The big elephant in the room?
I told you I've been trying to eat better.
I'm at there with you.
I went back to the gym this week.
Yeah, my hippie diet work.
Big cast is out.
Somebody is buying into hype that doesn't exist.
We're hearing things now,
drinking attitude issues.
He got testy with Carmella.
He used to date,
and almost got his butt kicked backstage for it.
So good luck, brother.
Because without your little buddy,
you didn't have much going on in your way.
And apparently small bookers all over the country
are desperately trying to book cast.
And real one reunites.
Because Enzo can't use the name outside the company.
And that's his Twitter handles real one.
Okay, all right.
So you got that going for you.
Couple of SmackDown notes.
This week's theme,
if you are the women's champion,
be on the opening segment
and do an inspirational promo
that won 80s and do all about you.
Because that's what they both did.
Was I, can we try to separate these brands just a little bit?
They did.
They sent her to Australia.
And I'm still not abandoning my concept
of Carmella's face turn
as Ellsworth turns on her
and joins the Iconics.
I still dig that idea.
And when it happens,
it's the smartest man alive.
Just saying.
They should give you the checklist.
And the book for you,
or keep saying it.
And respect to Asuka
for letting Ellsworth use the robe twice.
Oh, yeah.
I'm sure she had its steam cleaned afterwards.
Or he paid for it because.
Well, he is the intergender champion.
Please God,
don't bring that belt into this coming.
Are you kidding me?
Oh, have you?
He's had one made.
He had it made months ago.
He's doing the Andy Kaufman thing.
It's half blue and half pink.
God.
And again,
maybe I'm the only one that notices this.
But for the Iconics,
since they come out the same way every time,
can we put the right person's name
on the right side of the entrance way?
Because it's backwards right now.
I'm sorry, sir.
You're using logic.
It is.
Wrestling logic.
But I'm just saying,
put the right name on the right side.
And Joe just keeps getting buried.
This time, I count out!
What, why are we burying him, a boy?
You know, it was interesting how they set it up, though.
Since he was clearly ahead of Daniel Bryan,
and then it was just the timing.
Whereas, you know, any other match,
one guy enters the ring,
the count restarts.
But that's not what's in the script this week.
I'm just saying.
He would have been such a better pick for money in the bank.
And Smackdown was bad.
Smackdown was tough to get through this week.
But what date is that fall on?
Is this a recurring theme now?
Tuesday?
You're hurting my heart right now.
I really don't know where you're going with this.
Where's the calendar?
I gotta remind you.
Oh, it's on a Rusev day.
Yeah.
But every day it's Rusev day.
That's the point.
Okay, I'm just saying.
For a face Rusev spoil?
Hmm, maybe.
Alright, let's get into movie talk and do some box office numbers.
Because man, we've got some stuff to talk about in movie talk this week.
From our friends at box office Mojo,
let's get into the top 10 this week.
Dropping out of the top 10 this week,
a drift drops from 9 to 13 to $780,000,
four weeks, $29 million on a $35 million budget.
Go see this movie.
And we enjoyed it very much.
iTunes exclusive 385, or I enjoyed this film,
because I think I'm the only one that went.
No, Dom was there.
Dom was with me.
Dropping from 10 to 11 this book club this week,
$920,000, $6,000, $64.7 million.
The general and I have both seen this.
We both enjoyed it very much.
Dom was there as well.
Yes.
Sucks to be the goddy movie.
Oh boy, you ain't joking.
Holy mackerel.
Two weeks, $3.2 million.
It's not cracked the top 10.
Ow.
And in front of the show, Matt Mungle got to interview
a Trevalta when he was in town for it.
So did Wallace.
Oh, Wallace did too.
Yeah, Wallace had his...
Danny Zuko.
Yes.
And they recreated the meme.
I was about to ask which one was.
Yes, they did.
So up from 15 to 10, we just mentioned a moment ago,
won't you be my neighbor?
$1.8 million, $3 weeks, $4.2 million.
I'm glad to see it doing well.
Yes.
Dropping from 8 to 9 because they need the money,
so badly, Avengers Infinity War does another $2.5 million.
Nine weeks, $670 million, kids, that's just domestic.
God almighty.
Superfly drops from 6 to 8.
iTunes exclusive 394.
$3.4 million, $2 weeks, $15.2 million, $16 million budget.
I really enjoyed this film.
I really, truly did.
And you can hear what I have to say.
You can go back and listen to iTunes exclusive 394.
So why you should subscribe to our show on your favorite podcast app.
Like, subscribe, and rate, please.
We need those things.
We're getting buried on Google searches.
By two other podcasts that like to think they can have our name too.
And what about golf?
Come on, man.
Golf and baseball.
Norms, I'll take that from because Norm's a legend.
These are the two I won't.
I won't stand for this.
That's why I'm sitting.
Corredits Harry stays in seventh place this week.
$3.8 million, $3 weeks, $35 million, $3 million.
$35 million there.
Solo a Star Wars story.
Drops from four to six, $4.1 million, $5 weeks, $202 million, $333 million budget.
God almighty.
I still think it was a victim of its release date.
Deadpool stew says it five, says it fifth place this week,
five and a quarter million dollars, $6 weeks, $304 million, $110 million budget.
Tag drops from the bronze medal to fourth place, $8.2 million, $2 weeks, $30.4 million, $28 million budget.
I am hearing very differing reviews on this.
I want to go see it.
I want to see it.
Very polarizing.
Very polarizing.
Oceans eight drops from silver to bronze this week, $11.7 million, $3 weeks, $100.4 million, $70 million budget.
So it still needs to make about another $40 million to be considered successful.
Incredibles two, chat sought today, drops from the gold medal to the silver medal.
Another $80.9 million.
Oceans eight, $11 million.
Incredibles two, $80.9 million, $2 weeks, $350 million domestic.
So you're telling me there's a gap.
So from eight, oh, it's a bigger one from silver to gold.
Because Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom takes the weekend at $150 million.
Wow.
Budget was $170.
Really?
And I saw that one today.
So you don't have to.
Well, I'll be seeing it Wednesday night.
After watching the first one this week, I am prepared for mediocrity.
You may be over-prepared, sir.
But I get to see it.
I get to see it at the big show.
I'm sorry.
You mean so?
Welcome to the big show.
There it is.
Where?
Frenchy Frenchy Frenchy.
Is he not doing great work right now with this special Olympic stuff?
That's special Olympic stuff that he's doing is outstanding work.
Yes.
I love to Frenchy because that's my boy.
You know that dude's making millions not even from his contract?
Speaking of millions.
Holy God.
Let me explain something to people that are in the entertainment business.
Don't ever.
And I mean ever.
Again.
I must say you just Jericho, try to out bid Disney on anything.
Did you see what happened this week?
Yes, I did.
So Disney's trying to get this Fox deal done.
Okay, yeah.
Sitting at about 40 million.
Comcast comes in and says, you know what?
52.
Disney says, hold my beer.
And drop 71.4.
And that's just the cash and the stock option.
You said million.
Billion.
Okay.
You said million.
When you add to 13.8 in Fox's debt, that puts the total at 85.1 billion dollars.
They have signed the preliminary agreement.
You just walked into the room putting on gloves saying this ain't going to go your way.
Yeah.
Comcast, you've got universal.
Be happy with what you've got.
Because when the mouse walks in the room, everything stops.
Say if you don't, if you don't remember your role and shut your mouth, we might buy you out.
But here's the weird thing though.
No, I feel like they paid to have the stone cold entrance.
They don't get the Fox affiliate stations like Dallas, Fort, or Chen, or Fort.
But they do get like the Simpsons and Family Guy out of it.
They're going to get National Geographic, Nat Geo.
FX, which means FXX.
Star TV.
They get stakes in Sky Channel.
Oh.
Something called the Endimall Shine Group, which I'm assuming.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, who is that?
Is that Simon Cowell's production company?
That sounds right.
Also.
Look into that.
Hulu, which makes me wonder if this Disney doing their own Netflix thing may take a backseat.
Oh, no.
Hulu will become there.
Yeah.
And the Regional Sports Networks.
So Fox is still going to get FS1 and FS2, but the Regional Sports Networks, Fox Sports Southwest, Fox Sports Ohio, things like that.
They're included in the Disney deal.
Do you think they'll finally come up with the Ocho?
I'm hoping.
Because I love the Ocho.
He five point one.
That's just walking in a room with a microphone just to drop it and walk out.
And.
Oh, that's who runs MasterChef.
That's who runs.
Oh, okay.
That's that part.
Yeah.
And they have stuff everywhere.
Yeah.
That's everything Gordon Ramsay's involved with.
I think is endimall.
No, no, no.
I saw him recently.
I saw him recently.
I saw him recently.
When I went to New York to do Emily and Brent's wedding, he walked into the hotel bar the first night I was there.
Oh, wow.
And I'm going to defer to you on the story and see what you have on it.
You who me?
You being you.
Yes.
Are the Star Wars story films on hold?
Yes.
Because I'm hearing conflicting reports.
Lucasfilm is saying we still have a number of films in development.
But that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Right.
Because it's happened.
Actually, I did see this one.
I don't know if you caught it.
It's they're on hold for releases.
They're still in development.
They're in development.
Yeah.
Because we're writing an $85.1 billion check.
So I still contend that solo number one, I enjoyed that film very much.
All the haters plus all of you people that think you can make episode eight better by doing it yourselves.
Go Pound Sand.
Those are the same people that boo Roman Reigns for doing nothing.
That's what hurt solo, I think, in my opinion, is the backlash from that.
Which is also undeserved.
Yeah, it's stupid.
I enjoyed that film very, very much.
They're trying to accuse solo of a crime.
It didn't commit.
And I love that Ryan Johnson is going, oh, please do this.
Go, go, here's 200 million dollars.
Go do it.
Go Pound Sand.
I'll bring the sand to your hand.
I am so sick and tired of the fanboys
that just can't seem to be happy that these things exist.
Right.
We can always get another episode one.
Go Pound Sand.
The last Jedi was an enjoyable film.
Solo was an enjoyable film.
Stop trying to look at the world through your eyes when you were four years old.
Yeah.
Grow up a little bit.
Just a little bit.
God, man.
N-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n.
You just became a-
That's what I had to say about that.
Cut up.
You just became, uh...
He's exactly one get off my lawn button short.
Cut up.
You just became Henrietta from Mr. Roger's name, right?
Dear God, man.
I don't know what what's what's more disgusting just their behavior with that or well. No, no, no, no
I don't think there's any question here. You don't know the Kelly translate. That ain't the close
Yeah, that's that's horrifying those people should be hunted down and exposed right I
Absolutely all I had to say is go to the last 10 minutes of Jay and Silent Bob strike back. That's what I want for you
With that soundtrack
I think with Jay and Silent Bob do I get Kevin would do it
Yeah, Kevin it higher
Yeah, I think that's the guy that got married. It's Guy Walker, right? Yeah, he'd he would definitely be down
I'm so sick of this and
Apparently because Tom Holland can't seem to learn lessons. I think that's that's obviously planned
I don't think that was an accident. He has allegedly leaked the title of the homecoming sequel
It is it will be spider-man far from home because they are filming it in Europe and that's where it's taking place
So primarily my wife's homeland and plus the fact of you know, there's people like but wait a minute
I'm like and that's all I'm saying I'm not
Yeah, so a lot of people haven't seen the film, but still even what he said. I'm not quite sure how because
It's a cool battle. There's no way they don't he doesn't have their blushing of the live acting spot live action spider-man
Have you heard about the spin-off that's in the works? Yes, I did we're getting silk mm-hmm
Which is a female before there was a spider-guin mm-hmm. She was bitten by the same spider has a different form of his powers
But was hidden away so she couldn't be
Messed with by the government look I'm bored with this she's
Asian if I'm not I believe you're correct. I'm answer. Yeah. Well, have you seen the full trailers for the end of the spider? Oh, yes
Yes, I'm interested. I'm going to go
I am very because you know, I'm not a chat as the spider-man correspondent on the show, okay?
I've never been a huge spider-man fan because I find Peter to be whiny see and I've always been in that boat with but with the newer stuff
I'm kind of come on board. Yeah, I mean I'm interested because and the one line I saw was when you watch the trailer for infinity war and you see
Spider-man try to go head on with Thanos because he's trying to do the right thing
That's all you need to know about
But I like the Tom Holland version. I you too. Yeah, you know, but I also also enjoyed the Garfield version the first movie. Yeah. Yeah, I'm exactly
I'm going to go to where I'm going. But we also we do have a release date for death on the Nile
Because we know what's happening
December 20th next year. That's the good news. That's the next tag of the grocery. Here's the bad news
Here's what it's going up against. Yeah, I know where this is going. The big screen adaptation of a wicked
Old new and a little thing called episode nine. Yeah
I expect them to blink. I expect them to bump that back to November. Let's re-schedule some things. Yeah, I think I think a thanksgiving release would be good for that because what would you go up against Pixar?
It's counter-programming and I'm hoping wicked will re-schedule as well because oh no, that's perfect counter-programming
That's night because it's Christmas time number one
Number two, it's perfect. It's it's like Deadpool opening against 50 shades of gray. Yeah, it's counter-programming and see the thing is I'm so torn because I'm fans of both
That's where I'm saying, but both of them will hear this
Yeah, it's not gonna matter. Yeah, you hit a very slim line in that Venn diagram
And you'll have a lot of people
But you'll also have a lot of people
You'll have a lot of people that will hit like the Thursday night for episode nine
And then hit wicked over the weekend or on Christmas day. Yeah, you know
Dennis Quaid's gonna play Reagan in a biopic
Okay
Interesting
Texted Charlotte when I found out
She's okay with it. She has approved
Let's see Dr. Dre
Producing a Marvin Gaye biopic
Here's the difference because you know Jamie Foxx was trying to do a TV miniseries of it. Mm-hmm. The difference is
Dre has the family on board for the first time. Okay
So Dre wins. Well played
Yeah, let's not make that mistake that you made with that Jimmy Hendrix biopic and didn't have the Estates blessing
I'm gonna get even that
Don't forget me to theaters. Did it? I guess wasn't that Andre 3000 was all the same thing
It was all bought all is by my side or something like that. Yeah, terrible
Get ready for a third Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie
We just don't learn. I thought I'd watch you the first two and I want to see him. It's just not on my radar
I caught the last one bit that I was happy because you know half of the bar was in it so that made me happy
Well, you see I forgot about it. I just formed the full time though, did you?
It didn't matter. He was still talking
Boy, and they're getting buried on Smackdown, aren't they?
Are they even present to me Barry? I want to say they showed up at some point. Didn't they?
They were at World Cup and having pictures. Yeah, they've been doing euro stuff for them
Actually, they've had some really great stuff with that
What is it that's the var?
Apparently there's some Russian deal of the var and they showed up took over the
World Cup programming
It did the whole we are the barbit, but using var which apparently means something in Russia
Well, here's my here's my World Cup coverage for the week
I've been listening to you know because my podcast happy
There's a new show on ESPN called high new 9 a.m. Pacific. That's the actual name of it with Pablo S Tori and
Why did I just bow money Jones? It's a great show. I very much enjoy it
But they actually because one of their segments they do numbers and they just pick a number and they say what that number represents
And the number that that bow money picked was 36
And it was the number of seconds in dead silence after the Argentina debacle when they cut back to the studio for the Argentinian coverage
And it was just 36 seconds of silence of them all looking into they're like what just happened here
So the bar. Yes
Video assistant replay. Oh, no video assistant referee referee. Oh, okay. I think that's something new that they're doing
So that's the the we are the bar. We are the bar. Okay, okay
Uh
So this next segment is for your wife sir. Okay another role doll
Adaptation making it to the big screen with the witches which has already been done once done by Zemeckis
So I have hope for this and I you know, I know she didn't really dig the bfg
I enjoyed the bfg very much and that was Spielberg
Yeah, but I think that Pete's dragon was the film that the bfg should have been
And we have another casting for rocket man
Jamie Bell is in talks to play Bernie top in oh, right to
I tell you what him and the him and the Terran Edgerton. I'm kind of on board with this. You know back to Zemeckis
He's got a busy slate. Have you seen that trailer for the that Karel film the Marvin that just dropped this
Yeah, I have not seen that about people are going gaga over there was I'm not leaving this house until I watch it over your shoulder because I want to see your face
Okay, there was a full trailer before Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom and you know what I need to download the trailers out for my Apple TV
I forgotten to do that you do that because I guarantee you it's on there. Yeah, I'm not gonna say anything
And yeah, a movie that came out last year called the Berlin syndrome
I believe they showed it at one of the film festivals we covered
The director of that Kate shortland is being I to direct black widow
Oh, okay, so there's that all right
Let's get into movie new releases in places. You see movie new releases this week secario day of the soldado
I'm very excited. We're gonna. I'm gonna screen this Tuesday night with Don. I love the first film
And I I don't know if this is a prequel or sequel. I can never I can I love the poster where it's the the skeleton that's got the
Oh, you got the arms of the flags both of them. Yeah, I think it's a sequel
Because the idea is that it's going to be an advancement of politics or creating more situations from first
Also this week a movie that's getting a lot better reviews than I thought it would this uncle drew
With Kyrie Irving people are loving this movie
I'm just saying
It looks it looks entertaining if you know what I keep saying and every time I see the trailer
That's just you know what is that
I don't know why I just keep seeing that you know why you see that because that's what the original inspiration was
In Murphy in our city of hall talking about
The man was the name himself aghamed Ali or no, no, it's a free country. He can name his mama name and clay. I'm called clay. I'm gonna call clay
Uh, let's see a movie called leave no trace. I believe this was shown at the dip this year that looks fascinating
A father and his 13-year-old daughter are living in an ideal existence in a vast urban park in Portland, Oregon
We're in a small mistake derails their lives forever. I'm pretty sure they showed this at the dip and I've seen some trailers for it
It looks yeah, when I went back and because I went back and saw neighbor again
And they showed that before and I'm like wow this looks good also this week the domestics with Kate Bosworth
And a terrifying post apocalyptic world inhabited by gangs divided into deadly factions or WWE in the late 90s
Husband and his wife writes desperately across the countryside in search of safety and must work together as they are pushed to the breaking point in order to survive
I feel like this is trying to play off of the purge a little bit because even the poster looks like the new version next week
Also a documentary that was shown at the Dallas International Film Festival this week called three identical strangers
This looks really interesting
New York 1980 three complete strangers accidentally discovered that they are identical triplets that were separated at birth
Hmm the 19-year-old joyous reunion catapults them into international fame
But it also unlocks an extraordinary and disturbing secret that goes beyond their own lives and could transform our understanding of human nature forever
This looks fascinating
And if I am not mistaken, let me go back to screen
Yeah, this is a documentary this really happened
Did you happen to catch any of the trailers smaller film starring Paul Rudd called the catcher was a spy?
No, I have not okay. Are you familiar with the true story of Mo Berg?
No, okay, he played in the majors back in the day was trained as a spy
So his in was being an I do remember something about this now that apparently has had a limited release this week
Oh, it sounds like confessions of a dangerous mind same same concept only the idea is Paul Rudd plays Mo Berg
And they go through this whole ordeal. There's a great cast behind this and I have seen was behind okay
Also this week dark river
Following the death of her father Alice played by Ruth Wilson Sean Venus also in this sir
She returns to her home village for the first time in 15 years to claim the tenancy to the family farm
She believes is rightfully hers
Spoiler alert any or do we have the over under I don't know. Okay. No sleep that alone
Also a movie that I'm kind of interested in called woman walks ahead. This is something that we've I want to say this
Played at the Dallas Film International Film Festival Jessica's Chastain and Sam Rockwell
Catherine Weldon a portrait painter from 1890s Brooklyn traveled to decoded to paint a portrait of sitting bowl
It becomes embroiled in the Lakota people struggle over their rights to their land. Oh, this looks really really good
Also something that's a little weird called ideal home
Paul speaking of Paul Rudd Paul Rudd Kate Walsh Alison Pill Steve Kuginger in this a bickering gay couple must now deal with the unexpected task of raising a 10-year-old boy
So it's kind of like the new version of my two dads except different
And then a movie called black water opens this week for the stellar cast dude
If this doesn't get shown at Doc's house sometime in the next few months
I will be very upset because a deep cover operation awakens to a deep cover operative
Awakens to find himself imprisoned in a CIA black site on a submarine
You want to go down the cast damn right? I do
Because this could be a sequel to something for all we know I have to work my way up to it
And if you need to know where Doc's house is just listen
He will happily tell you his address
Yeah, well played my friend well played
Uh, no, no
Reschedule stop it
I'm not ready to restart my win song something or other uh, wait, when some trail in Richardson
God, I hope somebody shows up and is that
I wouldn't be surprised if it's already happened
No, no, I mean just after this one because he's like I wasn't there. Why did that come up?
Uh, okay
And I think we might have multiple generations involved in this sir. I'm just saying
You ready for this on the cast uh-huh. Yeah, oh by the way speaking as we get into this and this will be kind of a spoiler um
The Crete 2 trailers already dropped. Yeah, I always think was done
Yeah, so we have speaking of Crete 2 Dolph Lundgren
John Claude Van Dam
And yes, you are right and Chris Van Dam
Oh, wow. Yeah, this is happening
So Doc get ready
I'll say what with the Crete 2 did you see the size of the kid that they got?
I haven't what I haven't watched the trailer yet. I don't know. I'm talking about he they don't
They don't show it clearly in the trailer, but if you see a picture of the kid
He even maybe as big as brawn
Really, oh my god. He is not a small guy. Uh, DVD and blue right new releases in places you get DVD and blue right new releases this week speaking of which
Escape plan 2
With with the with the with the uh Batista
God just stay away from that mess
Uh movie called The Endless that played at the Dallas International Film Festival. The Dallas International Film Festival
Got a lot of good stuff this year. Tyler Perry's Acrimony did not play at the Dallas International Film Festival
That's with uh
To ride to be Hanson
Terminal we talked briefly about this a couple of weeks ago and then somehow the wheels got shot off of everything
And I don't remember why on this show. Yes, Margot Robbie and
Just my like I see right now. This is Margot Robbie and Simon Pegg. Oh
Interesting combo in the in a dark. I'm reading this right off of the uh
The the imdib in the dark heart of a sprawling anonymous city terminal follows the twisting tails of two assassins
Carrying out a sinister mission a teacher battling a fatal illness an enigmatic janitor and a curious waitress leading a dangerous double life
Did I even get a theatrical run? Very briefly like I said we talked about it on this show a couple of weeks ago. Oh
Let's see Dexter Fletcher Mike Myers
Max Irons
Also in this
Let's see what else spinning man. This is that thing that was just out with uh with Pierce Brosnan
And Guy Pierce
Yeah, I remember everything about this. No, I don't I happily married professor known for having many affairs with students
Becomes the prime suspect when a young woman has gone missing. I've seen the trailer for this
Uh
Gemini which was just recently a very very limited release
Uh in theaters
Lola Kirk and Zoe Kravitz are in this uh a heinous crime test the complex relationship between a tenac tenacious
personal assistant and her hollywood star with boss
So it's the feel good movie of the year
Uh two criterion collection and releases this week a female trouble with divine
The you know that divine yes, and so many divine for in film called the virgin spring yet criterion collection all right
You guys ready for tech corner. Yes bring it
I've been talking about this for hours and now we're going to talk about what it actually is
So I said that this is this could affect friend of the show Phil Mar
Phil who I have now known for over 30 years
Phil and I actually went to high school together along with his lovely wife Shannon and uh their three daughters
I am huge fans of and yes, I am not any of their grandfathers. I'm not letting this go
So
So Phil because he is a teacher he is officially on summer break
And we value what everything that our teachers do for the future of this country Phil teaches a middle school math
Phil has been spending a lot of his vacation using a little thing called movie pass
Okay
We've talked of movie pass was PLI recently now did I tell you I did find one of the downsides to movie pass you can only see the that one
You cannot see a movie more than once, but he gets to go to a movie once a day if he chooses to
AMC has now said hold my beer
He pays 995 a month for movie pass right because Finnie's got it. She's been using it for a while AMC theaters
For 1995 a month
Stay with me. That's only $10 more than Phil's paying now
Here's the difference
Phil can go to any participating theater, right?
AMs with AMC you can go to any AMC to use this this movie with they're calling stubs a list
Oh, that's what that was because you can see you can see
Three movies a week
So it's not every day
However, here's the difference now you also get it includes stubs premiere benefits
Should better for 20 bucks a month. Mm-hmm. However
You can see any movie in any format. Oh, okay, cuz I know movie pass is standard only
So you want to go 3d probably you can go 3d you want to go i max you can go i max
You want to go Dolby at miss you can go Dolby cinema now you can go Dolby cinema
Any AMC anywhere any format
And you can buy the tickets online or on the app to you don't have to walk up to the box office
That's that's a plus that's the kicker
And stuff premiere benefits
Cuz that's how much is that membership i think it's like 20 bucks a year okay
So basically you're getting one month of it for free yeah because you're getting the stubs benefits yeah
Again, I'm not saying game changer
But I can see it from here
Yeah, that
That may put a put a nail in movie pass you're telling me i can go to Dolby cinema
Cuz multiple times a month for about what it would cost me to go once yeah, cuz check place
Cuz it was what i want to say whenever i was looking at the price is at least 18 at least i thought it was like
Like 1695 i think that was what i saw today cuz that they were have i might depend on the movie too
They were showing well it was it was Jurassic World
They were showing it and Dolby cinema at North Park and i want to say it was 1695
So i'm sorry what is this debate right now and i can do it three times a week
There is a and i get subs premiere benefits which means i get to go to the separate line and i get
I can have a large drink for the price of a medium drink because i think i got two sizes now
That's and the rewards that come with it
That's kind of got a no-brainer stamped all over it
The only downside to it is if you're somebody who doesn't have a lot of AMC theaters where you live right
I mean i'm counting we don't have that problem one two three i can count
six within 20 minutes of us
Six really just off the top of my head
Mesquite north park fire wheel
Irving um great fine mill great fine mill stone briar. That's just right. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah
That's just right. I've taught my head. I forget about it. That might not be 20 minutes
But it's within 20 miles probably and then you got one at the park small
Yeah, we were allowed in this market. It's it's almost a no-brainer if you're a big big big big movie junkie
And three a week
I mean i know Phil can go to a movie every day
but
Now is this thing live? Has it launched already or is it still in the park?
Well because the other idea is is whether or not they have disclaimers on you can see three movies
But can you see get three passes for one?
I doubt that
It's coming soon. Okay is what they say
um
Tuesday no Tuesday
Oh, it's 1995 a month plus tax come back on Tuesday June 26th to join
Yes, let me get you
See up to three movies every week. There are no blackout days
You can have a triple feature in one day or watch movies throughout the week
This is from the official AMC theaters website our a-listers get what they want if you really really like a movie watch it again and again
So you don't have that restriction
Benefits reset every Friday morning
So you can see the latest movies on release. They should you too so
And okay, so get it all for 1990 now five a month plus tax you can buy with confidence for a 12 month guarantee
And get only a three month minimum commitment
There is a a quick drawback on that I got to the bottom list
You earn points the
Dig goes towards food during whatever mm-hmm on your monthly right, but you don't earn any points for the movies you see
But that makes sense though. I'm okay. I get it, but at the same time it's on the list. So it says
Choose Dolby cinema iMacs and more and let's say you you pay for it on Tuesday
You can do your first movie Tuesday
You'll be able to make your first movie reservation as soon as you sign up
Makes perfect sense
Choose Dolby cinema iMacs and more
She can a list Dolby cinema iMacs real D3D prime. I don't know what that is
Big D
That's what she said
Or digital because a listers never compromise
There are more than 500 films released each year
You're welcome and AMC gives you the access like never before and you can download a six month calendar of feature film
So you can set your calendar man. I don't want to be a part of that just to have that
Free online reservations in premier perks 600 theaters nationwide
Again
Hold my beer
That might just be more of a oh movie past that's cute. Yeah
Look you what i mean do this is next level yeah
I've already now it looks like they're asking for a minimum of three months right so you got a $60 minimum in
Or you know what 250 bucks a year
That's a little bit more of a commitment than i'm willing to make well
That's why i said i i want the confirmation of whether or not they'll let you use multiple passes for one screening
Because then i'm sold
So you're talking about take three people to one show big i don't think i got it because what i'm seeing is
You can have a triple feature in one day right so i'm saying each person has three
Yeah, i'm assuming each individual membership. Hey, these are the questions you gotta ask but
You know, let's say that a movie is getting released that we don't get the chance to screen whether it's because it's a vendor
We don't have or if it's you know
This habit of doing in the middle of the day when i have to work
I could still go
Thursday night
If there's a Thursday night release right see the movie we could still review it on friday
That is a good point
Or with where you're located you'd just wind up doing the north part showing after work and you could even record it Thursday night
Eight days till summer band 45 i'm just saying oh hold on i think you dropped something rub
I i don't know i i blacked out what oh i tripped over that i'm sorry yeah um
It was subtle okay, it looks like the the big D is their version of
um
The Dolby XD cinema because i'm looking at a picture on the website where it's like there's a lot of neon green
Like on the rails and on the the seats
Um, i'm not ready to do that yet
i'm not ready you i'm not ready for that
i
I'm going to be monitoring this very closely you and by the time Phil hears this i'm going to be interested in his thoughts
I fully expect a text that says i'm canceling my movie past membership right now because i feel like
I mean for him where he's at
There i'm sure there's got to be an amc indent and closest we could he have with firewheel
But firewheel's a hop-skip at a jump for him and i'm not far not not firewheel um great fine mills no the
Prestonwood no
What's the name of the dog on mall up there
Where frisco stone briar stone briar that's what i'm trying to think of
I mean that's i mean he's gonna drive that far for that i mean it's that's cinema arc in downtown frisco
But that's not much of a difference
Where we went and sell love Simon wasn't that an amc no that was cinema the the two they list for denton would be
Highland village and the bakery creek yeah and cinema cars our own club like this
Yeah, but cinema arcs is real chinsy
You get one movie a month i also haven't been in a cinema arc that wasn't trash and god knows how long
The one up there in the one up there in a
A legacy is nice because that's also right next to their corporate office
So that's a flagship i'm also in rock wall and that thing
Burn it to the ground pulled an alamo rock well
Somebody call me somebody call me i got financing
All right
So that's the big one shall we get to the list let's do it guess because we're already almost at the two-hour mark all right
Real simple list tonight we end every show with a list. This is no exception and this is one i'm surprised we haven't done before
my ten favorite flavors
And not ice cream flavors i'm talking about flavored things okay
And we're gonna be all over the map here sounds like that can be ice cream too
No, no, we're not doing that
Well, I mean it could be but that's what i'm not not holding it to we're not locked into just ice cream number 10
crab with a k
If i'm going to gengus grill there's gonna be some that an imitation crab meat on my bowl
Because i'm a big fan by the way, do you see what happened to the magic mushroom mountain rock wall what they turn it into
Taekwondo studio
That's a true story. I really wish it was coming food just for the song
So
So imitation crab oh and now of course we're restarting
And that's that that's what had your list on it that has the list on it
Now I know what number nine is because I was reading ahead
So we'll talk about that real quick while my laptop is restarting number nine grape
I
Have not found something grape flavored that I have not enjoyed see the only thing remotely grape flavored
I've ever been able to enjoy as a wine
I don't I'd see I can't do wine see and I my wife big wine drinker me not so much
I don't make any grape in other areas. I like grapes themselves. I like like a banana
I like the banana. I don't like banana flavored things. I see I'm with you on that
but
Oh, no, but what I'm saying is is grape falls under that same category for me. I'm with Rob though. I
grape gum grape
So does it as a kid now and later great good. I loved it and now I mean I like grape non alcohol
That grape juice that tastes like grape
I also like one grape juice. I do like it, but I don't like grape flavored gum or grape flavored
Snowcold
Actually, you know what I do it's sweet one other thing if grape is not stand alone
I could do it like the cranberry that is very nice
Now are you a fan of all things grape flavored like like we're talking a white grape as well as just regular
Oh, we got to break down the grape now. Well, I'm just saying you've got oh no one is very very I'm talking about with him
Hey, since he had the grape on his list because
You know, I can I can run hot and cold on the white grape stuff. Right sometimes about all that's really good for me
Is like energy water. Well, it's whether or not. It's actually just the white grape or if it's truly the sour grape
I like white grape. I don't I'm not beginning to sour flavored things
Just because like I don't need that gut punch
Like why does everything green apple flavored have to almost
So that's not on the list apparently because I love green apple flavor stuff when it's not ultra sour
Just say with watermelon. I've never eaten a sour watermelon in my life ever
I'm doing you know watermelon not on the list, but I'm not already mentioned
You left watermelon off the list. I have to wear this up fairly quickly today
I'm just you'd love that Arizona tea that you drank all the time that was warm well
Well, not Arizona when I could when you could
The amount of sugar in that kind is prohibitive anymore. This is true
But I do love watermelon flavor things very much you flop. So by hosting with watermelon flavor things
It's it's kind of a weird
Thing because they don't really taste like watermelon. That's why I'm like watermelon. Just watermelon
Yeah, there's nothing much to that. Yeah, that's why I'm not a fan of the watermelon flavor. So number eight orange
I enjoy orange flavored things very very much
Did you have to hand in your Florida card?
Because that's way too low on the list
Well, because orange juice is different. I'm saying orange flavored things
So that's different, but you know how they made orange flavored everything down there. Oh, yeah, oh yeah
Because it's the sunset. We have orange County. Oh, yeah, you go to do it. You do it Disney. You have orange juice or breakfast. It's the law
Number seven and this is why banana. I enjoy banana flavor things like banana milkswash
Oh god rest it soul
But things like taffy I can't stand I'm not a fan of taffy in general
That's the one I do that's the only time I like imitation banana so fake tasting. I just I can't get past that
Don't like taffy. Enjoy now and later very strange. That is strange because now later. We'll pull your dental work out
Though I just let the saliva do its work with the now and later. Just don't have the patience for it
Uh number set number six and this is gonna be kind of weird. So roll with me
bourbon oh like chicken
Yeah
Yeah bourbon chicken is one of my favorite things on god's green earth
It is a gift and we should accept it as such
I'd even found like little um at the grocery store. I've used them all I've used them several frozen bourbon chicken chunks
Oh, no, no, they've got packets where you can make that. Oh, no, these are actually already done that way. They're fire grilled
Oh really very much enjoy their fine work. Wait some for lunch today as a matter of fact which grocery store
Okay, I'll be making a Cobra trip. Um, you might see the bag in the garbage in the kitchen
But they're just take a picture of their little squares of chicken and you just put them in a microwave and like
I had six of them four minutes done ready to go heck yeah, you know
This is really not helping with the fact that whatever your wife made my wife is making my wife is making chili for dinner
I believe it smells delicious and she does understand she's making chili and she has to live with me
So I'm just saying so it only smells good now. It will not smell good later. You'll be sleeping here. You'll be sleeping there
But I will trumpet my love from the other room
These heros will announce my call
What you laugh
No, I know
We're leaving the house for a reason
I have a drop for that and I can't find it
Number five and this is something recent for me. No, I don't want to do the plug yet
um
Lemon pepper
Has become a bigger player with yes, huge fan of that at wingstop
I put the lemon pepper on my fish see not a fan of wingstop and not afraid to say it
Unless they want to sponsor the show then I love them
Not a fan of the wingstop. I'm just saying. I'm a fan of that flavor. So you're saying your love can be bought
You think
Most people that's true
As far as wing places go, that's pretty far down my list, but they do a good lemon pepper
I'm with you right there, but nothing could compete with Ricky since leaving for long to do
What no, we haven't had that uh number four
Buffalo
Surprise that's that along the list
That number four
He loves him some buffalo. I but I'm not I'm not a hot for hot-sake guy
I like it when it fills out the flavor like okay medium hooters. That's about as far as I go right after that
Like my brother. He's like bring me the three mile island
No
When like we used to have a place here that we talked about in the show before right down the street from from the studio
Called wing zone
Their hottest sauce and I'm not kidding you
They have to deliver it quickly because it eats through the styrofoam and the bag
That's just ridiculous
But they had the best garlic and but and here's the thing is they would do burgers
And you could tell them and after they they fry the burger
They would actually dip the burger in your favorite wing sauce not just on the bun the entire patty goes into the wing sauce
It was heaven and they delivered yes, and they delivered they delivered here
Oh, yeah, even before we lived in this house because we know the previous owners
We would come over any good or wings stop so the ring zone. I'm sorry. I don't there nowhere to be found. They're gone
They're gone and it kills my soul
You're a heartless man. You told me about these things. I know we kept them in business
Number three and this charla will be out at this point
Strawberry because charla is definitely allergic to strawberries as as am I and since I can't have strawberries anymore
I like to drink strawberry flavored drinks because I can't have strawberries because of the seeds and with milk splash no longer being around
That's double damage because that was a fantastic strawberry flavor. See I didn't do strawberry
But I do miss strawberry quick from when I was a kid and then you know strawberry mixed
She not yeah milk splash was another gift of that god gave us that wasn't here long
I remember the episode where you all got
Horshatta moosh. I'm not a big Horshatta. I know. I know, but I mean you have the Horshatta popsicle
How did that work out for you? I'm strange
This is I still missed the fact that I have a place in Nashville that I get my Horshatta and it's the only place I like my Horshatta
We had still city pops was at the Oakley Ficklecliffe Film Festival and I didn't get my key line pops that god
I blamed on for that believe it. I'm here. I still have some
Uh, number two peach you guys know how I would peach flavor things
Number whatever I go whenever I go anywhere that's got a got a a freestyle peaches a player
But peach and orange so we got it. We got it. We got to throw some love over to Chick-fil-A on that. Oh my god
You weren't there, but before we went to ROH
Right now for a limited time and you can't get refills and that's this is where I draw the line with Chick-fil-A even I tweeted at him
White peach tea with lemonade
Oh
No, no, there were people looking at Rob and I uncomfortably we were enjoying it that much in the restaurant. Do they do it froze?
That I don't know they have a peach frozen lemonade. I believe was the
Oh, yeah, but the genius of it. I could do it with the diet lemonade because it was unsweetened
Oh
That's what I had to say about that. Well, it was diabetes and joy in a cup and I just wanted to mainline it the entire night
Again, we had to bring up ham orchard
We got got it out there. Yes, we do. You yeah, you have that experience that we had
General have you not been to the ham orchard out there on the other side of tarot
It's a peach orchard and they actually have a restaurant there. They're peach. I'm saying they're peach ice cream
People line up out the door for it number one number two
You can buy a barbecue sandwich and they smoke the meat with the wood from the peach trees and the barbecue sauce is peach-based
I love to grow peaches. You know, you know, you know, it's like in your life. All right, so you stop right now
I'm thinking I don't think I have anything planned on Saturday
I don't think so I could be wrong, but if I don't have anything on my calendar this Saturday
I'm thinking we take a field trip because it's my birthday weekend
I'm just safe if you guys can can make this and Sean will be back by that point
You're looking at me like I know. I know she's back when she tells me she's back. If she's backward
Right, we're taking a field trip. I'm gonna double check my schedule. I don't think if I don't have anything on Saturday
We're doing this we might have to make a day out of it since you're still owed a butt weapon at mini golf. Let's do it
Uh, how long has it been since you and me and Mikey have that guy's day out there was it has been two years two years
And think about how much it changed from the yeah, the last time we went they have a huge porch
It took a zeb I like a massive and they have these wonderful rocking cherishes and call call calm find out if he's working Saturday
We're getting this done. Okay, because this is on waxes out there now. It's to the world
Ham orchard we're coming. It's so worth it. We had a day where we were like we drove to ham orchard and then we drove the buckies
Yeah, yeah
I don't want you to remind me of something we didn't touch on during wrestles. What's that the B team
And the B team played that they played hardy and
Bray Wyatt gets which one played which but I know the best headline I saw of it was somebody writing an article saying hey
But Dallas doesn't really good break wide impression for some reason
It was really good. It was voice at all and number one pineapple
In I yeah, I keep forgetting what a pineapple junkie you are. Oh, I miss not like they make the you know those little things you add your water
They're sugar-free. They have a pineapple crush one and it is wonderful
That's the one I haven't tried I haven't found that one. It's no rape and it's out there all the time. It's out there brother
It's out there trust me. I find that
So she says I've been going back to the gym now because I'm going to the gym after work
So I'll fill up my bottle with whatever my additive is and then I'll go workout and then I'll come back to my desk and fill another one up
So when I have for my drive home
I'm gonna need a list to check out the super crow girl out by me just of these things to buy
Yeah, he's got he's he hasn't theory that his super crow girl
But he may have that mellow yellow zero that I swear to god
I've seen it because I can't find in this store you would make his millennia
It's like my wife and her diet cherry melon doctor pepper
I actually found two of them at the cougar here by the house yesterday
I did find it the cougar out there. It's very specific to certain cougars. Yeah, it's weird the way they're doing it. So
My wife if I see him I always pick up two four because it's hard to find
All right, any of the things you guys want to see because we're already over two hours. I'm shocked that garlic Parmesan didn't make the list
I would put that is because see here's my thing
I'm very picky with my garlic Parmesan
Because I've been to places that have crappy garlic Parmesan shout out to pluckers their garlic Parmesan's on fire
I'm a big fan because it's almost exactly like wing zones
And what I like to do is I like to because with pluckers for like an extra quarter
You can have your side
Yes with the wings so so if I get the fries or if I get the back
They have to do that to the mac and cheese. Yeah, yeah, I have and it's amazing and I'm I've become a huge fan of
Korean barbecue flavored stuff. Yes, absolutely. I have some pork rinds that are Korean barbecue
Well, the sliders that we had the pork belly sliders. We had the whistling pig or Korean barbecue shout out to the whistling pig
I've gone to we've gone to slim chickens twice down the last couple of months and I've gotten Korean barbs
Shout out to the chickens they have a good sweet tight chili sauce too that I like I've been on the fence on that one
I'm not it's good. It's good. Get it to dip something in like your fries and that way you can try it
Does Mandarin fall under the orange category?
Yes, yeah, okay
Man Mandarin oranges. I like having Mandarin oranges. I'm not a big fan of Mandarin orange flavor
See when it's done right as part of something like as long as we're on the wing motif here
Buffalo Wildlings
Has an Asian thing that's Mandarin orange based. It is delightful. That was my go-to flavor when I went there
I quit going there years ago, but I did like I didn't realize it was Mandarin-based. Yeah, I don't know
It's it's like Mandarin and chili pepper. Okay. Well shoot. I had no idea. I just thought it was teriyaki
I think they changed it from Tangerine at one point because those became too costly
All right, let's do the plugs get out of here because I'm not hungry
