The Clubhouse – Episode 41

Hey, what's up, Empire's Rob?
Sometimes, there are people in your life who change things for you forever.
It could be a family member, a confidant, a co-worker, or just a new friend.
For me, three of those four were wrapped into one, although I worked with two of her children,
so she gets the grand slam by proxy.
The world lost Linda for you to tell this week.
A woman who is about as close to blood as one can get without actually being related to me.
When I was alone on holidays, she would insist that I spend them with her and her family,
who also welcomed me with open arms into their homes and ranks.
She would always make sure I was taken care of,
and her approval of my choice of spouse was almost as important to me as it was my own mothers.
She always knew how to make anyone feel comfortable in any situation, with a sympathetic ear,
and that one in a million smile.
To say that she will be missed is not even come close to how I and a lot of other people feel.
I know that she's looking down on us now, and smiling.
Because she knows that her legacy will live long.
As I do, Granger Gardener, Joe Thompson,
Chris and Jason Hogan, Rick, Trin, Michael, and Melanie Futrell,
Lisa and Zach Allen, my own co-hosts of this show,
their children, and the countless others whose life she touched, draw a breath.
We dedicate tonight's show to her, memory,
and the hopes that we can.
And then a less than 1% chance, bring you the joy that she's brought us.
Rest in peace, Mom Pietro.
You deserve it.
The following is a sooner or greater production.
Are you ready for the jam?
I said, are you ready for the jam?
Yo, gee, kick it.
Drums, please.
Yo, keep it going.
It is 704 on the East Coast, it is 404 on the West Coast, it is the 27th of April in
the year of our Lord 2014.
It is season 4 episode 41 for those of you numerically inclined, this is episode 2-17, at least
until episode 5 starts, and then recalculating.
The clubhouse is live on the air, we welcome each and every one of you individually, no matter
how you listen, whether you're here live on you stream, whether you listen on our archive,
whether you listen on iTunes, we love each and every one of you, maybe some more than others,
but we're not willing to admit that.
My name is Rob, and this place looks kind of familiar, we haven't done a show in this room
a Sunday night show about a month, but I wouldn't trade the last month for the world.
Joining me across the desk is he tends to, although for the last three episodes he's
been to my right, now he's back in his rightful place, with a barrier above two desks
between us, for my safety as much as his, he is chat, oh please, safety issues, welcome
back to the studio.
Good to be back, it's just wow, it was good to be on the road, but it was it's it's we're
back home again, sometimes we've got to be home, we need to be back in our comfort zone.
We've told you for weeks that this episode was going to be huge, and we were not lying
to you because I can see who's across the desk for me in the middle of the studio.
You loyal listener cannot, and you, I'm not sure, but when you hear this voice, you
may need to get your stuff together because Jesus may be coming.
It took three years to get the deal done, but the deal is done joining us in the studio
tonight.
Thanks to a wet on the contract, is a woman who I have nothing but the most utmost love
and respect for, she is one of my favorite people.
She is Clubhouse Proper Day 1, if you will.
She was a part of the very first non-live, my dad, women's ladies wrestling round table.
I didn't go back and revisit that episode, so we love her to death, she is missed the
hello love.
Hello.
Welcome back to the show.
Good to see you again.
Glad to be back.
You know, it's been a while when she walks in, she goes, wow, it looks totally different.
I'm like, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, does it has changed?
Well, you got to think the last time she did the show, the desk was facing the other
way.
It's just true.
There were about nine times as many people in the studio.
There it was, it was a primitive setup, but it was nine.
It was indeed.
It's like coming home.
We also want to say speaking of coming home, great segue by the way to remind me.
And he's in the chat room right now, home from a stay in the hospital.
My friend of the show, Russell Goodwin, I saw this yesterday that he was in the hospital
server.
We're very glad your home is safe and well, continue to get well.
Yes, sir.
Also in the chat room, your wife who is a British descent, because we always have to
point that out.
Okay, because the people don't know in the chat room, you know, they should know.
I agree.
Let's get to corrections as we all often do.
It's been so long that I don't remember our last show that we did was live
from the Dallas International Film Festival and good luck correcting any of those mistakes
that we might have made.
And again, if you don't subscribe on iTunes, that week alone is worth the time it will
take you to download those shows.
And before that was Russell Manion, before that, then we were here.
So it was, could this be our first studio show this month of this month?
Yeah, because Russell Manion was the sixth, and then we had the International Film Festival
and then they was Easter.
By the way, great show last week for, for Grace descending out there church on the bike had
a great time.
Saw some friends, met some new friends, so it was good times out there.
Glad it didn't rain on you.
Yeah, for the first time in four years, it didn't threaten rain, which might have threatened
rain.
But it didn't actually rain.
Well, it did a little bit like before, but no, this year, like it was clear skies, man,
it was great.
I just got a little sunburnt that day.
Actually, that's happened this time of year.
Let us start off as we all to do a little NASCAR talk.
So we raced last night.
Yes.
Now, Mr. you tend to be a little bit more well-versed NASCAR than I do.
You know, is it because last week was Easter and they had the week offer with that
just kind of the way it falls?
To be honest with you, I have no idea why they do the things they do.
We were out of town.
We just got back, the lovely intent of Mrs. Urbanite just got back from out of town two
hours ago, because it was, you know, celebrating my four-year-old niece's birthday.
If you've never been to a facility that has nothing but inflatable bounce houses with a bunch
of four-year-olds, it's crazy.
I highly recommend it.
I don't know how you survived.
I would go nuts.
I spent most of the time either, I had these nice couches you could sit on or in the
party room.
That was my agenda.
Did they offer straight jackets and liquor?
Uh, it's been the only way I did it.
First one, yes, the second one, no.
But I will tell you this.
If you go, I don't know if my wife's posted on her Facebook page yet, and I put a picture of it
on mine.
My brother-in-law got on the mechanical bowl.
How fun.
He lasted about four seconds and had the most amazing head-over-heels flip off the thing
that I've ever seen.
Was it filmed?
Jen has it on her phone.
Okay, she's got it on her phone.
That's quite late.
I'm trying to get her to.
She's actually emailed it to his wife's still, is that like my sister-in-law once
removed?
I can never figure that out.
He's my brother-in-law's wife, so how does that work?
Your brother?
It's starting to sound like the lyrics to on my own grandfather.
My brother-in-law's wife, is that still just my sister-in-law or is that my sister-in-law
once removed?
Let's just keep it at sister-in-law.
Okay, I'm good with that.
She said it's not doing any removals of any.
Jen said it to her.
Oh, don't in the room, too.
Good to see it.
Don was a little under the weather this week, so he said he's feeling better.
So now, at the bounce house, did they have any fun things for adults to do?
They had what they called an arcade, but like three of the five machines were out of order.
They need to have bounce houses for adults as well.
Oh Lord, no.
That would be a lot of fun.
But I'm telling you what, that would be a lawsuit.
I was looking around that joint.
License to print money.
Oh my god, it was amazing.
But anyway, we're off to being in pad as we do on the show.
We're going to talk NASCAR because the reason I'm saying that it was last night, we were
watching the basketball game at my brother-in-law's house, and I saw NASCAR updates.
And I was like, I guess we're racing tonight.
Okay.
Well, you have your finishers, top 10 finishers in 10th place in this number 78 Chevrolet,
Martin True Action Junior, Carl Backflip Edwards in 9th place, Ryan Hello, new men in 8th place.
And the number 31 Chevrolet, they'll earn hard junior another top 10 finish in 7th place.
He was, he was top 4 at one point I was watching last night, AJ Olmendinger in 6th place.
I love when he finishes top 10 because I can say that.
That can't get in fifth.
Yeah, do you know what I'm going with that?
No, not a, not a clue.
In fourth place, Chad's favorite driver.
He's not my favorite driver anymore, you say his name.
He's turned, I've turned on him.
Who's his favorite driver?
It's Brad keselowski, but he says it like the little girl says it in a monster's ink.
Like Michael Galski.
Michael Galski.
Kyle Bush, in third place getting the bronze medal, Jeff Gordon gets the silver medal
and Joey Logano in the number 22 Ford who took over four.
Smoke.
Fins the race.
Joey Logano sounds like a freaking pizza.
At the 2000, oh, by the way, we forgot to say the name of the race.
The 2014 Toyota Owners 400.
Oh darn now, so I'm going to be like a tombstone pizza 500, darn it.
Your point standing is as of right now because it's after the Texas race so we can talk points.
In 12th place, the odd man out dropping two spots is Austin Dillon.
What's that?
Wasn't he in eight seconds?
Greg Biffle, and yes, his family didn't vent the game with the plastic bat in the
plastic ball in 11th.
Brian Vickers in 10th, ninth place right now, staying right where he is is Ryan, newman.
Jimmy six time six time six time six time six time six time six time six time six time
spring cup champion drops from five to eight.
Brad keselowski stays at seven, Joey Logano up to to six.
Junior drops one, but he's still in fifth place right now.
Kyle Bush up to to four, and your top three stay the same Carl back flip
Edwards, Matt Kinzith and Jeff Gordon has a five point lead over Kinzith right now.
Next week, we are racing at Talladega, but not at night.
It is a one o'clock Eastern start on your local Fox affiliate.
I believe it is the errands 499.
So you have to watch a little bit of it every week and you end up watching more of it
and then you start it.
See what I did there?
The race at a cruise interest.
Oh, you hope it does.
That's the race goes on.
See that won't be funny if only like 20,000 people were allowed to watch the first lap
and then 30,000 after that.
See now you got some, but they have to be free and got promotion.
And if you do bring friends, you get to watch more of the race that are racing to a pyramid
scheme.
Now that's Carl with a track team.
So that's next week and then after that, it's Mother's Day.
So make sure you get your mom something.
Okay.
They used to not race on Mother's Day, but they do now.
I don't know what that's all about.
But you are listening to the clubhouse.
We are live every Sunday night, 70's from 4 Pacific.
Stay tuned because next week is extreme rules.
So we're not sure about the direct TV situation.
We're going to be in contact with Fox and how much week we love those guys.
I haven't heard from them yet if they've got to work around for it because right now
direct TV is not carrying it.
Wouldn't it just be cheaper for them to get the WWE network anyways?
There might be something with the way that the network is used for public performance.
Got it.
So I'm going to get a hold of them early this week and we'll have just keep an eye on
our Facebook page and our Twitter feed.
I'll be updating that as the week goes on.
Let's go on with some TV talk.
Now you're probably looking at this very first bullet point.
You're going okay, Rob, whatever.
In the last two weeks, I have two have had two brushes with greatness.
Okay.
One of my favorite comedians is Guy Baden with Jimmy Pardo and he did a bit on Bob
and Tom.
Of course, you guys know that's my favorite show where they were talking about Chuck
Mangione's feel so good and let me get them to see.
I should probably have that cute up here.
And if you don't know what that is, I know I have it, don't I?
I don't have it.
It's it.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
And he said he wants sign that up at a karaoke contest and it didn't go well and I thought
that was hilarious.
So I gave him line of the day on Twitter.
He favored my tweet.
Wow.
Which I was like, and Jimmy Pardo's awesome.
He's holy, you can't, if you go to a Jimmy Pardo show and you don't laugh, you're
a communist.
That's all I'm saying.
He's that funny.
And then a couple of days later, I was watching one of my favorite shows, The Gold
Birds.
Have you watched this show?
No, I haven't.
You need to.
It's what that 80 show should have been.
I heard they're doing an ultimate warrior.
I believe it's this week, this week or next week.
I just, I checked it on TV tag and I said that I said this show is brilliant.
Two hours later, the creator of the show, Adam Goldberg responds to my tweet.
What did he say?
Did you are at an awesome, and I was like, yes.
Greatest days ever.
So he won up to my cast for Van Dineries.
No, I don't know that your cast for Van Dineries can ever be top serve.
Wait, wait, wait, you got to tell me that's okay.
I don't know what to do.
I don't know what to do.
Quickly.
I'm watching Starship Troopers a couple of years ago.
Yeah.
It was on TV.
Yeah.
It was on cable.
And I've put something on my Facebook page to the, to the, no, it's on Twitter.
No, well, I've got my Twitter hook, but you put it on Twitter and then went to Facebook.
Right.
It was Git glue.
I was Git glueing.
Okay.
Okay.
So it's connected to both.
And it says, watching Starship Troopers, Neil Patrick Harris is taking this so seriously
in cast for Van Dineries and things he's doing Shakespeare two hours later.
What did he say?
Cast for Van Dineries.
He didn't even tag Van Dineries in the thing.
No.
He just put his name in it.
So he was searching himself.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He goes, he goes, do seriously.
Oh my god.
Yeah.
Seriously.
Call me going.
I gotta tell you what.
It's just now.
So you had a legit Twitter battle.
Yeah.
Well, that's an algorithm.
One shot.
One shot.
One shot.
That's it.
Three shots.
It was over.
Oh my god.
Why do you care what?
I think about your movie.
And you did this three other times.
Was he at all of them?
I thought he was a new one.
Yeah.
Oh no.
He kept on going with it.
I don't know.
I don't know.
What did he do?
What did he do?
Third story of the evening.
HBO.
Congratulations to Veep and Silicon Valley, both getting renewed.
I've heard both of these shows are brilliant.
I haven't seen either of them.
I love me, some Julia Louie, dryfist.
She's funny.
And I've heard nothing but good things about this show.
Silicon Valley, I think it was GQ right at their top 15 funniest people in America.
And the cast of Silicon Valley got four consecutive spots.
Who's in it?
Oh gosh, you're going to miss music playing because of my Twitter war with Casper
Band.
No, because they got renewed.
So don't call it a comeback.
Okay.
They've been here for years.
Because it wouldn't work.
You could have said, yeah.
I baited you into this conversation.
I don't.
I don't lie to the Empire, sir.
I am honest with the Empire.
God.
I don't know if there's anybody in this that I would record.
I'd record us in by site, but I don't know if I'd record us in by name.
I need to look here.
A man to crew, Martin Star, I recognize his name.
TJ Miller.
But it's a lot of guys that are just guys that have been in comedy for years,
but you didn't know who they were.
And I've heard it's hilarious.
I just haven't had a chance to catch up because God knows I got enough on my DVR right
now.
My DVR is like, please watch things I'm dying.
And I gotta get some space cleared off for next Monday.
Of course.
24's back.
I know.
I am so excited.
And these promos look so amazing.
Don't think.
And if you're not a son, chat the other day, they're saying that if you haven't watched
the show before, you can jump in at this point and not be completely lost.
But why would you not want to catch up?
The shows are so good.
What time did it come on?
I think it's nine o'clock central.
I'd have to go look because, well, you know I'm going to have it on the DVR.
Well, I was hoping it was going to be seven.
Have you never watched 24?
Not one episode.
I had to binge season seven because I would have been
just the last nine hours.
So don't let me borrow season eight and I just binge it.
Oh, so good.
But my whole thing is, the deeper you get into that show, there has to be a suspension
of disbelief because what annoyed me about season eight was, oh, we caught this person,
but now this person's involved.
But only caught this person.
And now this person.
And that's why I haven't been watching.
I'm worried about what end of the evening I'm going to be lost.
But if you, but if you watch the season, they're bringing back a lot of the other, the old
people.
So you're not going to know exactly who they are, what's going on in the new one to see.
Did you see who you're president is now?
Who's the president?
Is that who we can do?
Yes.
Okay.
He's the president now.
What's going to be so good?
I saw him in the, I didn't know who, what role he was playing.
I just got to call him.
That last promo they showed during the Super Bowl, like, I screamed like a seven-year-old
girl.
People once thought, Sting had showed up during the Super Bowl because, oh, it was like,
who's in the field?
I'm checking stuff in there.
Bring it on.
Let's go.
I love that Chloe has a new look.
Oh, yeah.
She doesn't look geeky.
Maybe she looks bad.
She's a great comedian.
Yeah.
If they ever seen her comedic work, she's genius.
But, oh, I'm so ready for next Monday night.
And is it going to be two hours per episode or we just, I thought it was going to be
two hours.
Well, the premiere is going to be two episodes, it's 13 episodes, but they haven't
said if it's going to be two hours per show or I'm hoping, because then it's not 24
or, but I'm good to have Jack Bauer back, so I can't really tell you.
It's basically just 24.
There's, that's what we're doing for you.
So if your fans of beware of the Batman and why wouldn't you be?
Um, oh, the premiere from seven to nine.
Oh, oh.
Well, my wife may have to have a lot of wrestling or you might not watch wrestling, but
my wife also watches that friends with better lives and that may interfere with some
things.
So we may have to do some fina going next Monday night, but beware of the Batman's
going to get burned off on Cartoon Network starting July 27th at three o'clock in
the morning every week during adults.
That show was mediocre at best.
I'm going to be honest, I appreciate them trying to retell the story a little bit, but
it went too far for me.
And plus it was that CGI thing, and I just didn't work for me, and it hurts me to say
something Batman really didn't work, because everything Batman should work because it's
Batman.
Let's wait till we see Ben Affleck.
The wife and daughter's engagement.
We've been bingeing Justice League again.
I went back to the beginning to start watching Justice League.
We finally got to a limited because Kevin Conroy is the real Batman.
Absolutely.
I'm telling you, then if you've ever seen him, you go, that dude's Batman.
Yeah, we were watching the special features and Megan's like, that's him.
I'm like, you know what you're talking about?
I'm like, you know what you're talking about?
I'm like, you know what you're talking about?
I said that's your voice, that's the guy that's played Batman more than anybody else.
Oh boy.
Oh, daddy.
So CBS now will be doing how I met your dad coming in the fall.
Now if you, if you've ever watched how I met your mother, well, please, you're welcome, you're
welcome, internet.
The person narrating it, telling the story was Bob Sackett.
That's right.
For how I met your dad, the narrator will be one mech Ryan.
So if you've been wondering where Meg Ryan is besides under her plastic surgeon's knife,
too much, too much mech Ryan.
Well, I was going to say it's a good role for her because we don't actually have to see her face.
And she's right, though, but she's been America sweetheart for so long.
And I saw a picture for like a month ago.
It was like, oh, dear God.
It ruins it completely.
Like she, she went, she went, she went, Diane Tannen with the plastic surgery.
Like it's bad.
Keep in tune.
We don't remember saying how you need to back off.
Oh, my God.
That's so many face lifts.
The dumbbell, the my chin is my navel.
To me, so look, that's that Joan Rivers after nine days straight of smoking nothing,
but men thought that's.
Oh, I don't know if it's your sexy voice.
Yes, you know, hey, why not Joan Rivers and Lauren McCall and John Joan Rivers does
does Mar just twin sisters when this is.
So there's that and Seth Myers is going to host the Emmys this year.
Big year for him.
Yeah, I'm on board.
Yeah, I love you.
I'd apparently he's doing very, very well with late night right now.
You know, you haven't been here in a while.
So I've got to ask you the question.
What do you think about the Colbert taking over for Letterman thing next year?
You know, I don't really watch him that much.
I know.
I like their better.
I like Colbert.
Do you?
I think he's funny.
Pussy keeps an exact replica of the Captain America.
She owned on a studio.
So I was like, oh, well, then we must be a fan of.
And I did finally get to watch the Winter Soldier at this past weekend.
Yeah.
It's not the best Marvel movie every May.
You know, you're racing, but it's really good.
And it's more of a political thriller than a superhero movie.
So I was still kind of cool with that.
And there's some great Easter eggs.
I told Chad what about about one of the other.
You hate great Easter eggs.
We're like little hidden things that you see.
You know, if I'll give you Easter eggs.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and there's what there's one specifically
that I told him about the other day that's genius.
And it goes that long.
And if you don't catch it, but if you do, you laugh until you pee.
It's, thank you, Marvel, for that.
All right.

Anything you want to plug while we're doing this, Missy?
Yeah, I would love to have everybody come out to our cars
for Casa Car Show.
That's right.
That's what's in a couple of weeks.
It's already May.
Yeah, May, it's the Sunday after Mother's Day.
The 18th, the 18th at the Harbor and Rockwall.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, it'll be great.
I think it's bigger every year and it's fantastic.
I remember that first year we went.
I was like a building in the group.
So it's like, I need to pull your water right now.
In and out, it's going to be there.
They're going to be serving food.
Don, you're in.
Yeah.
I love you so much.
The great cause.
Come on out.
And you can, if a Facebook page, you can look at it as well, too.
Cars for Casa Desk.
Yes, cars for Casa Desk.
Make sure you look that up.
Yep.
All right, let's go to P.O.I.
P.O.I. stands for Person of Interest.
It is a segment we do on this show where we take a person or an entity
and we debate their greatness or lack of their love.
It's been so long since we did this, I had to go back and find the last studio
show to figure out who's turned it was.
And it is chats.
Well, as I mentioned a few minutes ago, the wife and kid and I are going back
and we're revisiting the animated series of the Justice League.
What are the greatest animated series of last 25 years?
Absolutely.
And especially unlimited, unlimited.
It was so good.
Well, yeah, yeah, I personally
my favorite season was season two of Justice League, just a way that that thing
ended.
I have to go back and watch.
It's been a long time.
Star Cross.
Oh, you really need to know.
Oh, yeah.
But you had your moments of absolute genius with an unlimited where one of
them gets turned into a pig by Cersei, where Batman sings at my blue.
I love that episode.
That episode is cheap.
And that is right after the episode where they all get turned into kids to take
on mortgage.
Not a race.
I love that episode.
Two of the best episodes that was right there at the beginning of season one of unlimited.
And then, um, you know, my favorite unlimited moment, still falling.
Yeah, like there's a season premiere and they're fighting this big robot and Batman falls
off.
And he's just like, hey, guy, I mean, like he's not free.
He's just like, y'all down.
They'll help.
Still falling.
Just he just doesn't.
He's straight dead man the whole time.
But we got to reflecting on how great the glory years of cartoon network were.
And then I got to thinking when I, when I turn on television on Saturday mornings and
see nothing even remotely resembling what we grew up with Saturday morning programming
on network programming.
And it's just like Sunday.
It's so odd that you bring this up because just last week, I was, I was going because
I always look through the HBO schedule for the week as I want to see what the Saturday
premiere is.
If it's a movie, I'm going to watch.
Like, you know what, let me just go look at the network lineups on Saturday morning.
Just, and I don't know why I just decided to do it.
And I was like, where's all the show?
Yeah.
It's a no man's land.
And I'm like, the sad thing is, because the main thing I wanted to address is what I
wanted to title this segment was whatever happened to Saturday mornings because that was,
that was our employee.
Young kids with the clothes in the hair, let me explain something to you.
In my day, wow, I'm a 40 something white guy.
I can say that now.
If the sun was up and you weren't out of bed, you were already behind.
Yeah.
If you weren't sitting in the living room with a bowless cereal when the national anthem
played and the big eagle was flying across the screen with the flag superimposed in the
background, you don't even face your friends, don't because you will be ridiculed for
the rest of the day.
And you are in the bear.
Nothing to talk about that afternoon and Rocky and Bullwinkle always started it.
Well, it depends on when network you were on, too.
I mean, because you had for us, it didn't matter because that was the early 6 a.m.
Everybody's on their bowing gone.
It was Rocky and Bullwinkle and then everybody else is doing news.
And see, here locally, Rocky and Bullwinkle was mainly a weekly morning show before we
left for school on chill.
Really on an independent show.
This is back whenever our local CBS affiliate now channel 11 used to be an independent
channel.
And they hosted slam bank theater.
It was the thing that Ikki Torp did.
You've probably heard the theme for a thousand times.
That's where we got our Rocky and Bullwinkle fix our Georgia jungle fix.
Any of the, what was that animation studio that did all those?
They were all, I mean, they were all from the same studio.
Yeah, I wish some of them, you know, fractured fairy tales, all that stuff as well as the
three stages.
That's where I became addicted to the three stages.
And then cartoon carnival came on after that.
By that time we were on our way out the door.
But around here, it was normally a couple of sitting Marty Croft shows like speed buggy
baby, Wonderbug.
Speed buggy was a cartoon.
Well, no, they did a live action version too.
Well, Wonderbug was pretty much speed buggy live action.
I think that'd be that sort of thing.
That's what that, that's what he is.
That's what he is.
One of the seam monsters.
The buggy loose.
Far out space nuts with Bob Denver and the other guy that look like the skipper from
Gilligan's Island.
Wow.
All's electrowoman and dinosaur.
No, it was, you were kind of ran the game.
Then you got into bugs, buddy, and roadrunner, and then all three networks.
So you can't just NBC and ABC kicked in with their normal Saturday morning programming.
And they would do, like, in August, they would do like a one hour special on Saturday
morning telling you about their entire lineups down here.
It was prime time.
Oh, really.
And it was on.
That Thursday or Friday night prime time.
Just what he was using.
No, what was coming.
Oh, yeah.
And then like, I remember, of course, I would comment books as a kid and they would blitz the comic books
too with all of the lineups.
And you were just like, this is the greatest thing ever.
Yeah.
It was kid overload.
And then sometimes you get those live actions are like Jason of Star Command,
which I was a huge fan of sprinkled in, and it was Saturday superkade.
You know, and then we talked about this about a month ago, there was a game show on
TBS called Star Cade, which was just all about people playing video games against each other.
Like you'd have sick of that video.
Yeah.
You had to play a game like, you have to pay 60 seconds to send a peek and rack up as many
points as you could.
Wow.
It was just, it was, I still can't hand.
We grew up at the right time.
We did.
And now it's just like, and the Walter Bug as it makes.
It's just like, say this for PBS.
Thank you, Mr. Antenborough.
I've got Discovery Channel.
Yes.
Say this for PBS, man.
And part of me wants to blame Cartoon Network and see, because you get it all the time.
But do you, do you?
Do you?
Do you?
Well, it's all on Boomerang now.
It's, but it's not, and I got to argue that point, because Boomerang is mainly the
Cartoon Network stuff that was on Cartoon Network when it first launched.
Right.
No, but that's what I'm saying is that's where you're going to go to find that stuff.
But I can't blame him at the same time because if the networks had any stones, they'd
be like, you know what?
We need to compete with this.
They do.
They really do.
And I can't help but think that it was probably some, and I'm, I may be going way off
the reservation here.
It was probably, it was probably something, no, no, no, I, what did surprise you
if it was some congressional mandate that they needed to get these trashy children's programs
off the air and put more quality programming on Saturday mornings?
Well, I'm waiting for that.
Yeah.
Quality programming.
Quality programming.
Who's opinion exactly?
You know, but it's, it's, it's playing the stuff that Nickelodeon used to play on
Sunday mornings when they first started, which was all the stuff that's geared to, if you can,
if you can measure your agent months, this is for you.
Well, you guys don't like door of the Explorer?
I was never a big fan.
If I had a boy, I would join my hand.
I would join a little blues clues every once in a while, you know, but even boomerangs
not what it was designed to be.
No, it's not.
Boomerang was designed to be those cartoons that we grew up on our barrier, the Thundercats
and Thunder the Barbarian stuff of that ilk.
But now it's their old recycled stuff that, like they don't even show powerproof girls
anymore.
It's, it's the stuff that slipped in between the cracks and I'm, I'm, it's, it can be something
some dexter's laboratory.
Yeah.
I would, I would freak out if, if I would get a Samurai Jack Marathon phone at me.
But where's bugged money?
And I'm not talking about this junk that they're putting on the cartoon.
Legends and dragons, Marathon.
That may be as I love that show, but you know what, I have a billion dollar idea.
And God knows, we've given enough people that were guests on this show ideas in the last
months, the last as a lifetime.
But I want to start a network that's just for shows that didn't make it enough to get
this indication.
But that were good shows, like Fox alone, you got a whole faultful.
If you watch the episode of Family Guy when they came back and Peter lists all the shows
that have come and gone between the time they got canceled and the time they came back,
that's a, that's a year in a program right there.
Personally, I'd like to have a note where there's nothing but pilot programs that didn't
get it off, you know, get off the ground on board with that pilot TV.
You could combine the two, you got Nick at night.
Why not?
Yeah.
I mean, stuff that literally died on the vine, but we want to put it back on the vine
to see if it grows or just, just for people could go, oh, I remember that show.
Yeah.
Of course, nobody's listening.
Firefly, anybody?
Nobody's going to listen to us.
I mean, an action, the street, because like you just said, it happened with family.
Got that thing up put on life support how many times?
Only once.
Only once, but it was gone for like three years.
Future Rama.
So that's, but still, but still, it kept going away and coming back and going away and
coming back.
It was like, it was like a zombie.
It just, you couldn't be put down, it was like Jason.
But yeah, you're right.
It's sad.
I mean, it's really sad.
It makes me just don't want to sleep on the Saturday morning.
Like just not to know what I have to wake up for other than the first college football
game during football season.
Mm.
Okay.
See.
Now he flipped this switch.
Oh, yeah.
I forgot about that.
But it's just, it's so sad to be like, when we can, we can draft his next week.
That's a list that I know has been done to death this year because of the year of it being
30 years removed from 1984 of things that kids of this generation will never know.
And it's, it's something we all should.
This stuff that we grew up with that they never did.
That's another one.
That's another one.
Add to the list.
Is Saturday morning cartoons.
I think about that.
Or even the good after school cartoons shows that we're designed for that animaniacs,
tiny tunes.
Batman, the animated series.
All that's going on.
All the, all the after school stuff that kids rushed home to watch the ABC after school
special.
We're, we're many, we're many, a teen actors career got launched at Matt Damon, the
Beneflex Ralph Garmin.
I'm talking farther back than that.
I'm just saying.
Like, what's his name?
Dude from American War from London, David Notten.
He's got, Don has something.
Russell says digital channel 31.4 has all the classics.
Don says a 1996 FCC mandate issued in the wake of the Children's Television Act, requires
station to a programming minimum of three hours of children's educational and informational
programming per week.
I knew it was something.
It was called Sunday morning or Sunday afternoon when it's not football season.
Just say it.
And Russell, what is that channel called?
What is 31.4 called?
Because I may have stumbled across that.
Well, he's doing that.
Let's go ahead and move on because we are your one stop shop for all things sports
and entertainment.
Let's talk in VA.
Oh boy.
And something called the Sterling problem.
If you have not watched any sports news in the last 24 hours, this will be new information
to you.
TMZ has gotten a hold of a nine minute phone conversation between, and you're
missing being an L.A. girl.
This is your section.
I think they got it from dead spin.
I think that was there.
Is that where they started from?
Yeah.
From a young lady who had a four year affair with Donald Sterling owner of the Clippers,
where basically she is of African-American and Mexican-American heritage.
She is a mix and obviously he knew it.
That's allegedly, she has this tape, and sports interplay the entire tape this morning.
I have heard it where he basically tells her that she doesn't need to be putting her associations
with people of minority backgrounds on Instagram.
She had a picture of her magic Johnson that has been since removed.
She also had a picture of her in Matt Camp.
Okay.
That had to be removed.
That was the other way.
So we didn't think of him.
I, again, I heard the recording this morning.
Because my first reaction was you're an NBA owner.
The likelihood of you being around people that are called minorities.
Very good.
Let's be honest.
So I was a little skeptical going in.
His lawyers have come out of release of statements saying this young lady is actually involved in a lawsuit
from him and his wife.
Let's put that out there.
That she apparently took some community property, which equal about $1.8 million.
So she's his wife is suing her for investment.
Kind of property is odd.
I don't know.
And she said that she will quote get even.
Interesting.
His lawyers have released another statement saying this does not reflect who he is in any way shape
or form.
The clipper is originally as an organization said we want to make sure of the legitimacy of this recording.
People are jumping to conclusions.
Magic put out a tweet yesterday said my wife and I will never go no longer go to a clipper's game if he owns the team.
Today he agreed not to be at the game.
Sterling agreed not to be at the game.
He has to go to show up to any of the playoffs.
And did you like it?
And the warmups the team took off their jerseys and threw them in the middle of the court.
Turn them inside out and then threw them in the court.
They're warmups.
They did the shoot around.
Yeah.
They all came in inside out so the logo didn't show.
And then threw them into the middle of the court.
Now again, I've heard the tape.
Okay.
So what's your thing?
It's not a hack job.
It's not something that was just edited together because there's overlapping voices.
If she did that, it's an amazing job.
Okay.
But are people overreacting?
No.
What he was quoted as saying he said.
He said he said it allegedly.
Now we don't know what we don't know.
Is this him?
Is this somebody who does a really good job in personating him?
I'm not taking a stance on either side of this thing.
But first of all, this is the exact wrong time.
If you've been holding on to this tape, you're opening another can of worms on your own.
Little miss 20 something year old dating a guy that's in his early million.
Can we cue the Jamie Faust Kanye West song?
Yeah.
Andy's married.
This is this and I'm going to say it right now.
This situation is going to get a lot earlier before it gets any prettier.
No matter who's at fault here.
If she's at fault, well now she's committing a felony.
Blackmail and tampering.
If he's guilty, we've got another large shot of situation on our hands.
And the clippers in the middle of a playoff run and playing well.
I kind of want to punch Blake Griffin with my car.
Do you see he dumped his water all over a fan sitting behind him on the bench.
It was a Golden State fan.
No, he didn't.
And then I acted like he didn't know was there and then threw the cup out of him.
Oh.
This guy's a bit of a deep back.
Are they all?
Well.
But your playoff updates of what's going on.
I actually got to watch a heat game yesterday.
I haven't been able to watch my heat all season.
Got to watch the game last night.
Man.
They.
That was hard for me to watch at one point because it was just like I felt bad for Charlotte.
Like they were up 23 at one point.
They still win the game by 13.
But they're now up 3L.
Today.
Washington beats Chicago again.
98.89.
Wow.
This is again.
Nay Nay suspended.
Yep.
Let's see.
It just.
It was.
Wow.
I didn't realize it was that bad.
Good night.
I was on the road all day.
Golden State.
Over the Clippers.
18.
97.
Right now going on.
Toronto beating.
The Brooklyn net.
I still can't use it.
26.
14.
We're in the first quarter.
And then later on tonight.
Houston at Portland.
Here's what I don't understand.
Why is everybody so shocked that Portland's playing well?
The press was ready to give them the title in the first two months of the season.
Did they just think they slapped it off?
Portland's a good team.
They're playing well.
And last night.
Oklahoma City.
They're getting all vacant handle right now.
I mean.
And I've said for.
What have I said for two years?
They're going to dominate this conference for the next five years.
Yeah.
I mean last night.
Andy does beat Atlanta.
Stuggling.
You're a one seed and you're struggling with the H.C.
Right now.
Dallas.
Vince Carter at the buzzer from the corner.
Wow.
Mavericks win 109 108.
It is 21 Mavericks right now.
Thank God.
But who are they playing?
And that's what you need to know.
Never count the San Antonio spurs out ever.
Sure.
They're 97 years old minimum.
But pop get some coached up.
It's the most perplexing thing to me in the world.
So Monoginobly was around during the depression.
And he can still play.
Wow.
I don't understand it.
Well, you know.
And the maves do.
I'm sorry.
For maves fans out there.
But they tend to kind of slack.
They think they're getting ahead.
And they just lose it.
Yeah.
I know.
That's when they get behind.
They start to panic.
And you can't play basketball that way.
But they're up to one.
Yeah.
In a best of seven.
Well, let's hope they don't rest on that.
See you last night.
Beath's Memphis 92.89 in overtime.
Wow.
Memphis is one of those teams that they'll make some noise.
But they just can't go deep into playoffs.
I also didn't realize last night.
Charlotte has never won a playoff game.
They have a little crawler said Charlotte's seeking first playoff victory.
And I was like, wow.
Really?
Oh, that's terrible.
By the way, Russ says the retro television is called KG31.
Okay.
KG31 GL.
Was it the eagle?
No.
Good.
What is that?
It's one of these little if you just used off the off the air antennas.
Oh, and between channels.
Yes.
And that's what that is.
But the playoffs continue.
Been a good playoffs run this year.
Really kind of enjoyed a lot of the highlights that are happening.
The off the court stuff thing is what it is.
We'll continue to monitor that for you as well.
Let us get into music talk because that's one of the things we do.
In news that could not make Chad happier if it tried.
This came down.
Was it Monday or Tuesday?
Oh, it was last Friday.
Oh, it was.
I thought it wasn't.
Was it that way?
Mm-hmm.
In other signs.
So we said by Missy being here.
You need to make sure you get your affairs.
No, because Jesus is coming.
This is another biblical sign of Armageddon, sir.
Depending on your point of view.
Friends and Warner Brothers have made nights.
What's it been 20 years?
Getting close.
It's a anticipation.
So 96.
So that was the first album he released at.
That was it.
That was gold was what 94 because that was the last one.
That was still well.
You still had chaos in this order and the vault.
Yeah, it's good point.
But you didn't have much to do with those.
Huh?
He didn't have much to do.
Especially the vault.
He didn't have much to do with.
Yeah.
It was just that was his contractual obligation album.
So they've made nice.
So later this year, do we have a date yet on this?
Nothing.
There will be a Deluxe remastered 30th anniversary.
A edition of Purple Rain.
I'm assuming in July because that would because the album would be the 30th anniversary.
Right.
I'm on board dude.
Dear Lorden heaven.
Now and there's already talk that this is not going.
This is not the only album that's going to get the remastering treatment.
And if any album is screaming to be remastered.
The black album.
No.
No, the one that came out before that.
Love sexy.
Before that.
Around the world in the day.
Parade.
You've said all of me except for the one that you should.
His masterpiece.
In your opinion.
Sign.
That's one of the times.
And get that thing released on Blu-ray.
That'd be great.
Mm-hmm.
There's talk of that too.
There.
They were mentioning that.
His classic stuff will wind up being.
Available licensing for video game properties.
I'm like.
Mm-hmm.
Who would die to play this on rock band?
Rock band?
I don't think it would happen.
Rock Smith.
Oh.
Oh.
It's the real guitar.
I've got that right now.
Justin, let me borrow it for the time being.
This is more I think what Prince had in mind.
I didn't want to put my music out for people to play with plastic toys.
I want them to pick up a real instrument.
And Rock Smith.
You do.
You play with a real guitar.
That Prince.
He's so high on it.
I don't know the internet's dead.
But the.
The.
The implications that this has.
And apparently this.
This album that's been hanging in the void.
With.
Third I girl.
Plectrum Electrum.
I don't know if that's good.
They're good.
They're very good.
They're very very good.
Well, a lot of people are concerned about where this leaves them.
Because all this talk is being made about.
Now is the time to do a show with the revolution.
Let's take him on the road with the revolution.
Let's do small.
Go up.
Doesn't the revolution have to agree to that?
Well, they already agreed to it a couple years ago after Bobby's.
He had his heart attack.
And they did that reunion show at the avenue.
And they've been talking about want to do something like that again.
But now would be the time to do it.
But then if that happens, then third I girl pretty much gets left in the cold.
I don't know.
I think they can be all right on their own.
I mean unless he has third I girl come out and do an opening set.
Why not?
Like Sheila did on the purple rain tour.
Then have the revolution take this.
Shelly.
Oh, you don't.
I love to see how excited Chad gets when he talks about Prince.
But this is also a big deal though.
This is it's massive.
I mean because as ugly as that thing got back in the in the mid 90s with writing slave on his face.
And I mean he had a good point where the artist should have control over what they record.
Right.
And they should have ownership over what they record.
But it takes on an extreme.
Yeah, never.
Who would think he's so dramatic.
So we think that probably happened in July when we get a more solid date.
Well, update you because that's kind of what we do.
I'll keep my ear to the ground.
It's probably going to happen either in June or July.
And in news that makes me very happy.
Producer butch fig.
Vig.
Vig fig.
Maybe he likes figs.
I don't know.
He says the new food fighters album is almost halfway done.
And what that tells me is they're taking their time.
They're not trying to rush through this thing.
Because you know I'm a big Dave Growmark.
All original members.
They have not said for sure.
But if Dave Grows involved and the drummer that looks like a young edge is involved.
That's all that matters.
The paper.
Pat smear is not in the food fighters, is he?
He was for like an hour and a half.
Yeah.
You know he's original.
Pat smear is original.
Is he?
Because fun fact about Pat smear.
Time back to our last story.
You know on the Raspberry Barrier video.
Yeah, it's all right.
He's in.
He's the guy sitting in front of the drum kit.
Yeah.
I do remember hearing that somewhere.
Yes, right.
Because I remember because they've dated the preacher for the VMAs one year.
And he said that was his last dig with the food fighters.
Then he came back.
But he was original member.
So that was part of the pre-show of purple rain last week at the album.
They showed that video.
Mike, there's Pat smear.
Plus they've covered darling Nicky and sang purple rain in their sets.
So the food fighters are big print fans.
It's because they've brought awesome.
Oh, remember print covered.
Was it best of you?
Oh, yeah.
They're in the Super Bowl.
Have time show.
And if you missed last year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
They did a, they inducted Rush.
Yeah.
And they did 21 12 and the full outfit.
Really?
Yeah.
Don't mention 21 12 around in my wife and kid.
Well, one of them just heard it because she's in the chat.
Yeah.
Don't do it in front of them.
And I'll say it again.
They're German looks like a young edge.
So.
And the 2014 MTV VMAs that be announced on August 24th will be at the forum.
Where the Lakers used to play.
He used to play.
I thought it was going.
I didn't.
Well, I mean, I knew it was still there.
But it's not the LA Times forum.
It's just the forum.
I like it.
And it's in Engelwood.
We're, we're our manjules from Engelwood.
And because nothing bad can happen there.
Oh, it's not that bad in Miami.
When you're and they had people come up in boats, which is very unstable.
But at the American Airlines arena.
But I like it.
I like it.
They're traveling around a little bit.
I'm like, well, last year when they had it in Brooklyn in a neighborhood,
we thought that was going to be unstable.
Going that was really unstable was the show itself.
Miley Cyrus.
But I thought it, for where it was, it went fine.
And there's a bunch of people.
I don't know if you know.
Who are you?
You have friends?
What was that?
You can't get off of my lawn.
I wanted one person.
But he's from Gran Turret.
So stick their hat that went down and say, get off my streak.
It never happened.
Like to check in the Billy Joel matter.
Yeah, the end of matter in the trust video.
And by the way, Channel 4 on XM still going strong.
Really?
The Billy Joel, I love it.
Another doing the big Tuesday is the hotel hall meeting.
Billy Joel hosted by Howard Stern.
Oh, really?
They're like really tight.
They're like really good friends.
I've been fighting out.
That's I've been listening to the station and had it locked in on my XM for the last time.
You never really big fan of his movie.
Stern?
Yeah.
Not really.
I've been a fan of his for a long time.
See, and I just got serious and I love it.
I love Howard Stern.
I got it.
In fact, I bought it just because of him.
You like this version of Howard Stern.
I do.
I mean, I knew his name.
He is.
Well, I mean, I knew him.
But that stuff doesn't scare me.
But I didn't go out of my way to listen to him.
No.
Now I do every morning.
My way to work.
My morning's just been with Bob and Tom.
So.
And I like, I'll be anything a lot, you know.
But I just love how just how far, serious XM has come.
Yeah.
I think he's a great interviewer.
And Billy Joel said, I was worried the first time he interviewed me,
but we've really become good friends.
And he's incredibly respectful.
So.
Yeah.
That's what I'm in.
That's one thing that always baffles me about Stern is how good of an interviewer he is.
You think that would people?
Yeah.
And I don't know how he does it.
Music new releases and places you get new music from come Tuesday.
The Chris Robinson brotherhood.
Don't call on the black crows.
Don't you dare.
The Chris Robinson brother.
I wouldn't dream on it.
I like the black crows.
Those first two albums amazingly strong.
That was my favorite.
Shaker money maker.
And the Southern Harmony and Musical Companion.
Two great albums.
I think we should do the rest of our show in sexy voice.
We're having a way to like.
We're almost an hour in now.
But they're new.
And it's called phosphorescent harvest.
Maybe somebody likes to smoke the doobies.
I like to scuba dive at night.
Also a band that's got local ties.
The old 97.
Yeah.
That's not they were done.
Yeah.
I guess not.
They're releasing new album called most messed up.
You need to pay more attention.
You can say things are done.
So broke.
I can't afford to pay attention.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
Oh, yeah.
And a new album from the Pixies this week.
Now I see these are bad.
Now they.
I thought we're done.
Called Indy Candy and another band for the kids with the clothes and the hair.
The string cheese incident.
Wasn't that a gun to roses album?
Sounds like one of your things.
I was thinking like kids book.
That should be one of your favorite bands.
Because you are a string cheese eating fool.
Oh, that was the cheese man.
Is that stinky cheese man?
That's a thing.
That's a kid's book.
It's like a kid's book.
Yes.
But they released a song called song in my head.
Which sounds like it should be.
Enjoy it.
Let's do it.
The Randy or the story.
Oh, not twice as light.
Hey.
Hey.
I need to go back to the old.
You'll see.
Oh, he's fantastic.
What are he does is good.
I'm sick of that theme.
I'm sick of that theme.
I'm sick of that theme.
What are Mr. Hey.
Nothing.
You can say song.
I missed that one.
As long as he stands on that top rope and does this thing.
I don't care what's playing.
And we're not talking about this a little bit.
Because there is as much as we love to have Mr.
Here any time she wants to be here.
There's a specific reason we have her here.
And we're going to talk about that.
Because when I was looking through what you brought me and seeing the old pictures of him when
he had the more hair here.
Oh, he's very odd for me.
Let's talk a little bit of NHL because we have the NHL playoffs going on.
Go Kings.
Are your Kings still in it?
Yeah.
They're down again.
It's 3, 2, 3.
Oh, say it.
This is close.
But not come back.
Sarah Pena.
Oh, no.
Jeff.
Jeff.
Done.
Jeff.
Jeff.
Done.
First big special.
They were in Santa Anna.
And Pena can come with sirens.
Oh, no.
Jeff.
Jeff.
Your latest updates.
Avalanche up on the Minnesota wild 3, 2.
Where are we just?
Oh, that was the Columbus Bluejack.
It's was America's favorite game.
Yes.
You missed that last year.
We had it.
We had a game called how many points out of first place are the Columbus Bluejack?
Oh.
Yeah.
He created the game.
Dude.
I'm over 40 now.
I don't even remember anything.
I'll stop it.
Chicago.
Usher's the blues out of the building.
They win their series 4, 2.
Which I like the black hoax.
I respect the black hoax.
I got a lot of friends are black hoax fans.
Annaheim up on Dallas 3, 2, after a show.
Acting the other night.
Yeah.
I love it.
It's 6, 2.
And it news that will make Chad extremely happy.
The Boston Bruins.
4-1 series win over the Detroit Red Wings.
So Detroit is out of it.
Are you a Boston Van?
I like Detroit haters.
Oh, I guess.
And the Montreal Canadian.
We'll be facing the Bruins in the next round as they sweep my Tampa Bay Lightning.
Why is Montreal allowed to be in the NHL?
Because they're Canadian.
And they say a boot.
Why wouldn't I pay?
They have a lot of guys that Dave's like Phoenix.
So does half the freaking lead.
The fair points.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have a 3, 2 series lead.
On the four mentioned Columbus.
Who last year we were joking because they were 70 points out of first place in February.
And now they're in the playoffs.
And the New York Rangers are up 3, 2 on the Philadelphia Flyers.
But by the way, Chicago beat up on St. Louis to take the series five to one today.
And I'm Dallas.
We'll play tonight at eight Eastern on your NBCSN wherever you have that used to be.
And that used to be fuel.
Well, what was the one that sports soup was on?
Whatever that.
Oversus.
That's what it is.
Don's got faith in his penguins.
He says.
So there is that.
All right.
We are your one stop shop for all things sports and entertainment.
It's time to combine the two and talk a little pro wrestling.
Who else do we start with?
Your sting watch update.
Day 5,413.
It was announced this week that the rumors is without that we have rumors.
That this fall.
The sting DVD set is coming.
So excited.
The day it's announced of a release date.
I will be reserving it on Amazon.
In two days shipping.
Maybe negative two day shipping.
So it gets to me on time.
Have it flown in on the drone.
Oh, duh.
But only if has this thing.
Facebook on it.
Oh, that would be so cool.
Sting.
They're saying drops into the ceiling like Rob.
Yeah.
They're saying now.
They're saying now that the contract signing is simply a formality.
This thing's all but done because he's all over the network.
Right after the warrior passed away.
And of course that happened since the last time we were on air.
So we want to send our personal condolences to his family and friends.
He was actually on the coverage they did of him that week.
Really?
So yes.
He is on the network right now.
So there is that.
I.
You didn't show a WrestleMania but we'll forgive him.
Speaking of WrestleMania kids.
That's called a segue.
The only way I could get missedy to this show was to lure her.
Not under false pretentious.
But under pretentious nonetheless.
For those of you that were either at Fox and Hound with us or listen to our
WrestleMania show.
We told you.
Misty and another friend.
Oh, a bunch of friends of the show.
Much members of the Empire were in New Orleans for WrestleMania 30.
Yes.
Diane was there.
Yeah.
How many of you were in the toilet?
Seven or eight, weren't you?
Yeah.
They were rowing seven right deep sir.
Yeah.
They rolled up in the club.
So you it was just the entourage basically.
Yes.
We had reporters on the ground.
And Misty was orders on the.
And sometimes I was literally on the ground in New Orleans.
I pitch you were floating above it.
I'm sure at least one point.
But Misty was missing.
I were texting during the show.
I was.
I was.
It was really hard to get texts in there.
That's what I was thinking.
I texted.
I was like, maybe so get out.
I don't know if she will.
But if I don't hear from her.
In fact, I think that was the only conversation I had that actually went through.
Really?
Yes.
Go AT&T.
So I want to hear from you.
And we're going to take a little bit of time here.
Because I want to get to wrestling.
Quickly.
Okay.
Because I want to take some time and talk to you about your WrestleMania experience.
When did you head to New Orleans from Dallas?
We left.
When did we leave?
Friday morning.
Okay.
We were going to throw down.
Access was already well underway.
Either way.
Yeah.
Because they start like what?
Wednesday?
Yeah.
I mean, we had grand plans to be there the whole time and do access and go to the Hall of Fame.
Okay.
We're going to do all that.
We're going to do all that.
We're going to do all that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But it was fantastic.
I mean, the drive down.
We were just so excited.
And you get there.
You know, the only thing I was disappointed about is that New Orleans didn't have a lot of stuff.
I mean, there was hardly any signage.
There wasn't.
Really?
Yeah.
I thought this was going to be a much bigger deal.
It wasn't until you actually got to the super dome that you see a few banners on the
lights and things like that.
But that's it.
Yeah.
So.
But it was great.
I mean, it was everything you wanted it to be.
It was, I mean, you walk in there.
The lines were so long just to get in the damn building.
It was, you were like person to person in there.
It was squished.
I, I almost had to go.
But would, would you say that it was?
Was it too much or was it just because it was what it was?
I think it was just because it was what it was.
I mean, they just had a massive amount.
I mean, that place was, I don't know.
I think I remember them saying the attendance was like more than.
And they've ever had it a WrestleMania?
Well, I think that there was.
No, not because they didn't break the WrestleMania three record.
Okay.
It's probably within the top five it has to be.
Because the, you know, because the silver dome.
Right.
That's hooking so succinctly.
Put it in WrestleMania three.
That's the indoor attendance record.
We all know when it's at AT&T stadium in two years.
That record will be broken.
There's no doubt in anybody's mind is going to happen.
And then.
It's going to have that record.
Yeah.
But I'm, some of the reports I've read.
It's just the security getting through security alone was just taking forever.
It did.
It did.
It took a really long time.
Well, I mean, once we got there, the security wasn't so bad.
But like the lines were really long.
I mean, they were like four or five lines and they were wrapped around the building.
Now, did they have any merch stuff outside while people were waiting or was it all inside?
Because to me, you should, you should have that stuff outside.
Because then you, people can get their stuff and get to their seats.
They did.
They had little indoor places at the super dome where you could go in.
And you can actually get all the, have access to the merchandise.
They also had where we first got our stuff.
Like where I got the program was a little trailer outside of Harris.
Okay.
So, and that was there the whole weekend.
So, you could go and get whatever you wanted for him.
And you didn't say you got to go to the official WrestleMania store that was at the convention center.
Mm-hmm.
I saw pictures.
That thing looked huge.
Like how big was it just seeing it in person?
I, oh God.
It was massive.
I mean, you couldn't really, I don't know how to describe how big it was.
Did they have the person now to handle a facility that big?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
You didn't have to stay in the line forever to check out.
No.
Good.
They've really handled it well.
I think New Orleans did good.
How does the noise, how does the noise carry in the super does?
Oh, crazy.
It gets loud in there.
Because I've heard stories from people like Austin and his podcast.
He talks about their certain buildings that they would wrestle in.
Where the sound just goes straight up in the air.
And you can't hear anything.
No.
You could hear everything.
It was perfect.
I mean, there was, there was nothing.
I have no complaints about the actual show itself.
It was amazing.
It was the spectacle that you think it is.
The huge sign.
I mean, one of my favorite entranceways ever.
Like what Austin came out in the skull was in the middle X.
That was really the way they did the video wall.
I thought it was brilliant.
Awesome.
It was very cool.
How was it to be there in that atmosphere versus like when we're all at Fox and How
Together?
How does translate that for me?
Because I know.
I mean, it's obviously amplified by a billion.
Oh, yeah.
There's just a completely different energy.
And you're always looking around to see what you can see.
Who's in the gorilla position?
Like, I could see like right there.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
So I could always see like maybe who was coming out.
And it's fun.
And everybody there is such a huge fan.
I mean, look, pro wrestling.
Is what?
Everybody's favorite thing, right?
So sometimes you get like a little.
People make fun of you for it.
But to be in an arena with that many people.
So excited.
It's, it's an energy you can't explain.
They're all there for the same reason.
They paid the same amount in money that you did.
Sometimes a lot more.
Oh, there was this guy saying, I've told you that it was a Japanese Daniel Bryan.
And he was dressed like Daniel Bryan.
Did he have the beard?
He had a beard, a fake beard.
He had a blonde wig.
He had little red panties.
He had did he ever look at you and go.
Indeed.
No.
Oh, I wish we tried so hard to get a picture of him without being.
I just said, dude, I need a picture.
It was amazing.
But everybody was so excited.
It was great.
I totally forgot my question.
I'm sorry.
It's been a long weekend.
I'm sorry.
Japanese Daniel Bryan.
He did the same thing to me.
The city of New Orleans itself.
Yes.
Do you felt, did you feel that it kind of wrapped its arms around the WWE fans?
Or were they just kind of like, oh, you're here.
Go do what you do.
Um, yeah.
I thought everybody there was really nice.
Nobody, um, we didn't have any problems.
I think, um, you know, the city itself is so eclectic and it's so interesting.
They just welcome all different kinds of people and all up and down Bourbon Street.
I mean, they loved it.
I think they enjoyed having the people there.
How was getting around?
Because you hear all the stories about getting around New Orleans.
You might as well just park your car and walk everywhere.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, if you're going to go down to Bourbon Street or French, that's the way to go.
Um, we stayed.
We rented a house and stayed maybe about nine miles away from the super dome.
So, wasn't terrible getting around?
Um, well, easy.
Would it be easier for you to take a taxi to the super dome or were you okay just taking
your car and parking and all that?
We were okay taking the car.
Yeah.
It wasn't bad.
Nothing different than maybe like trying to get out of Rangers ballpark.
I think it's the end of the game.
Let's ask the big question.
Yes.
What's the big question?
I'm excited.
In the, oh, good night, Ross.
I'm starting to see you check in there.
Good.
Get some rest, brother.
Get better.
The biggest shock of the night.
Oh, God.
Do we have to talk about it?
We do.
Because I want people to hear it from your perspective.
You were there.
You were in the building.
Yes.
You and I talked on text for probably 20 minutes just about that match.
While the other match was going on.
It was, from what we watched and for where we were at Boston Hound, it was just like
somebody put a shop back on top of the super dome and just sucked a life out of the
building.
That's exactly what it was like there.
It was night and day.
I mean, like I said before, the match was not very exciting to begin with.
I was surprised everybody was sitting down.
Nobody was like up cheering.
But when that happened, like, nobody expected it.
You know, I guess you expected a few more.
You know, pins.
But it was dead after that.
Everybody was holding their faces and shocked and it was terrible.
And given the level of knowledge as we're finding out as the weeks have gone on, not even the
referee knew what the finish was supposed to was going to actually be.
No.
It was just like, it just seemed like there was just mask confusion.
To me, it seemed like a mistake.
It seemed like a mistake or some kind of like screw job.
The New Orleans screw job.
I was like wait, because he, he went for the three count.
The ref wave did off, but they rang the bell anyways.
And then all of a sudden out of nowhere flashed the 21 and 21 and 1.
And we were like, what just happened?
No, I don't know.
I don't know if you'd had a chance to go back and watch it.
I haven't.
Even the commentary stopped.
Yeah.
It was just like, and we're looking at each other like, what just happened here?
Yeah.
I can only imagine like what the crowd was dealing with because you felt bad for the
divas, because without I'm taking a winning.
Yes.
That was it.
From there on, nobody wanted anything to do with it.
I think if Daniel Bryan hadn't been coming out at that last match,
we probably would have left.
I mean, really.
Yeah.
Wow.
I mean, well, you know, was there to see Randy?
I may have watched him come out.
I'm there.
Okay.
I may have watched him come out, but then.
I don't know if that band did a really good job.
I still can't quite tell if they were left thinking or not.
No, they weren't.
It was live.
Because it sounded great.
Yeah.
It was live.
No.
It was like everybody.
It was like the air just left the building.
No sound.
You can hear a pin drop.
And that's during the divas match.
That's what it appeared to be.
Oh, God.
Because they got boots.
Oh, bad.
I felt so bad for them.
I mean, they didn't do anything wrong.
I just couldn't do that.
That deep in the car.
I know.
Well, I think it's because of the total divas connection.
So, you know.
You've actually been your pre-show game.
Sure, so much.
Not the tag title.
I know.
But yeah, after that, I mean, there was everybody was bummed out.
If I hadn't paid as much as I did.
I probably would've left.
But overall a good experience.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Nothing like it.
Ready for 32.
Oh, yeah.
I think I'm going to go to 31.
Oh, yeah.
That's a newer section.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We'll see.
I'm kind of digging it.
If it's sting, you may have to save me and see them.
I don't know how to go.
You know, what's funny is at the end of the Undertaker matches.
I kind of was a little excited because I thought with Undertaker losing,
sting would kind of come out and be somewhere and none of that.
Because there were rumors that there was going to be a video package play during WrestleMania.
I almost feel like it was supposed to play.
But then with Undertaker losing.
Yeah.
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
Yeah.
And stays back there.
I got to take this white paper.
You know, he was there.
Don wants to know.
After the taker loss.
Yeah.
Because we heard rumors that there were a lot of people leaving that did leave.
Did you see that from where you were sitting?
I didn't see droves of people walking out.
Okay.
I mean, I saw a lot of disappointed people.
How was getting out of there afterwards?
It was okay.
It wasn't too bad.
I mean, it was, you know, you have to wait.
They put in so many extra seats in there.
It did take a little bit, but wasn't too bad.
What was worse is going to talk about afterwards.
Oh, I'm sure.
I'm trying to get through the drive through, which took us about an hour.
Are you serious?
Because they weren't ready for the WrestleMania crowd.
Because apparently everybody goes to the talk.
I would call them.
I would call them.
Look, here's what's going to happen.
This is going to happen.
Just have mine already.
Just by payment for telling you.
We're so hungry.
We just want to talk.
It was all I had.
We're hot nuts that night.
So, I mean, you know, the almonds.
Everyone.
Found it.
Sorry.
Pain.
Ah.
Sorry.
Well, let's go ahead and talk.
By the way, Paige was stripped of the women's NXT title.
Oh.
Apparently, they're putting the room to put some stuff into her and raw.
Yeah.
And they say, I feel like, well, she's only been resting.
Exana and Alicia Fox.
What they're doing is they're trying to show the crowd her style.
So, come next Sunday for extreme rules.
And she's got a wrestle to Mina.
You could be more familiar with her.
That's what I read today.
Let's talk about raw.
And I did bring my iPad into the studio this week.
I don't have to go get it.
Which I know shocks Chad at the core.
I had this habit of leaving stuff in the in the green room.
Oh, yeah.
To go get it.
And I'm like, just talking.
It's like.
Dude.
So, Chad did not get to watch raw this week.
Because he was seeing purple rain at the album.
Right.
And I don't know anything.
I don't know how much you know about what's going on.
Nothing.
You might want to scoot over a couple of feet.
Because he's about to get really mad.
Okay.
3mb has a new member.
And his name is Horn Swackle.
But just coming out with a stupid gimmick.
Coming out with the shirtless leather vest and the slipped back hair and the sunglasses.
This is happening.
So is it 3.5mb?
3.5mb.
And they came out with them because he's got a feud with El Torito.
Which with El Torito.
Yes.
And they wrestled each other in a six man.
Yeah.
And Cesaro has a new theme.
Why does that sound like an old raw theme to me?
Probably is.
It might be the recycle it.
And am I going to have to for the rest of my life here.
Paul Heyman say that Brock Lesnar broke the street.
Yes.
Because I'm telling you.
He said it about 17 times between Raw and SmackDown this week.
He's trying to inside the crowd.
There's that point where you have to go.
Okay dude.
We get it.
We remember.
And I love Paul Heyman.
Don't get me wrong.
And he was on Paul on a Austin's podcast.
You know, he got the name Paul Lee Dangerously from.
Where?
He loves the movie Johnny Dangerously with Michael Keaton.
Oh, dear God.
So he decided he was going to be Paul E.
Dangerously.
I was like, you know what?
I wonder that.
But I was like, surely not.
I love that man.
He just wears me out sometimes.
And why did JBL treat the Cesaro section like it was a new thing?
I don't know.
We were in the Cesaro section at WrestleMania.
I was like, they've been doing that for six months.
Really?
I never noticed.
Oh, yeah.
It started.
It started probably six months ago with in that section on camera side right behind the ring.
People just have these signs just say Cesaro section.
Probably because I usually fast forward through that match.
That could be why.
Yeah.
And I don't like the king of swing thing.
I feel like he should be coming out.
Dancing like with Bandango.
God.
They have to do anything to take attention off of his large nipples.
What about, but what have I always said, Missy?
His mid section looks like the the the the Edward munch peating the scream.
When he stretches and then and the belly button gets.
It looks just like that.
It does.
You guys are you guys are scaring.
I'm sorry.
So we have your finals for the number one contender ship for the icy title.
Who are they, Rob?
It's Cesaro and Wade Barrett.
Who gets the title run?
Because as much as I love Biggie, he has to drop the title to one of these two guys.
Because they're both overdue for a run.
Vince really likes Wade Barrett.
Remember he was supposed to win money in the bank last year.
And then they got injured.
And then they were going to put the title on him.
And they got injured again.
I'm starting to wonder if he's going to get the runner.
If it's going to be Cesaro.
Because thank God Cesaro is getting a push.
Because I've loved him since he was an ROH.
It's Claudio Castanyoli.
Oh.
He was very European.
That was his bit.
Yeah.
I was like, we couldn't carry that over.
Well, they tried to.
And then Chris Hero screwed up.
And I didn't get my kings of wrestling reunion.
Those two are an amazing tag team.
Really.
Go back and watch some old ROH footage of them.
They're great.
So we'll have the finals tomorrow night.
And then the winner gets Biggie at Extreme Rules next Sunday.
You know, I haven't seen much of Biggie.
He's been just kind of hanging out.
Like he like helped do commentary during he was doing commentary during the tournaments.
I like the kid.
Yeah.
That's truly true.
We do.
Especially now that he's kind of coming to his own.
Because when he was when he was Ziggler's Lacky, it was just like, okay.
So this is happening.
Right.
And it's like he's starting to show a little bit more character, which I like.
And I'm glad they didn't do the Mark Henry heel turn.
Because I don't think we needed that.
Uh-huh.
But then Henry got injured.
And that was because they were supposed to do that the rumble.
And then they scrapped that because Henry got injured.
But, uh, there is that.
Anything else from ROH?
You didn't watch it.
No.
I mean, it's the only thing I want to talk about?
No.
Not really.
That's just got to stop being three hours.
Apparently, oh, there was one thing.
Apparently, they totally screwed the pooch on that.
What happened?
Because if you watch earlier, and I think Don told me about this, and Don, you're going
to have to tell me which part it was again.
Apparently, they flashed up the evolution logo before somebody else's video package.
Like an hour early.
Uh-huh.
Right.
So yeah.
That happened.
Do you think they're going to pull Rick clarin for that?
Flare's going to be on Raw Tomorrow Night, but they haven't said how.
Oh.
But he will be on Raw Tomorrow Night.
Um, but here's my thing.
Yeah.
It's not evolution to me now.
Why?
Because the two of them, Orton and Batista, are not, they're not the young up and
comeers anymore.
They're a stylish guy.
It just seemed like three guys beaten up people.
Like right now.
To me, like evolution.
It is a mystery.
Let me told us that.
But I was just kind of like, this doesn't feel like.
And without flare, it really doesn't feel like evolution.
But I was just kind of like just be, Orton, Batista, and Triple H, go be people.
Right.
Because that's what they've been doing for the weeks leading up to this anyway.
And so it doesn't really make a lot of sense.
But I think they look really good in suits.
I'm not going to do that.
That's why they're evolution.
But here's my thing.
This six man, which, by the way, first of all, I'm totally on board with this.
I think it's going to be a great match.
Yeah.
But you kind of screw your world title picture.
You're taking two of the guys from WrestleMania and you're taking them completely
out of the picture.
And so now your, your world title matches.
Daniel Bryan came for extreme rules.
Really?
Well, it's, it leaves it open for John Cena.
It was, we're bad news, Barrett.
The evolution of Flash, like, three seconds.
Right.
That's what Don tells me.
Yeah.
Because he told me about that there.
I was like, oh, I totally missed that.
And now it's gone from a DDR.
Christopher Daniels says he is officially a free agent of Austin very high on bat influence.
He, on his way to WrestleMania, he actually ran into them on the plane.
Really?
And he said we sat down and we talked for a while ago.
I really liked those kids.
I've watched their work.
They're good.
They don't think Daniels makes a very good heal.
I don't think so.
He's too over the top.
Him and Kazarian both.
And they're, they're both amazing talents in the ring.
But I've said about Daniels for years.
Remember, you had about a three week swim through WCW and that didn't work out.
But I think there are a great tag team.
Well, do you think they have any place in WWE if they came over?
There's so many mid-carters.
The tag division needs help.
Yeah, but Vince keeps building up the tag division and then tearing it down.
Well, because you're, you're fixing to have the road's brother split.
So you got to have somebody in that spot.
Right.
And I really don't want them to split.
Although, I think they would do a great match against each other.
And that was supposed to be the WrestleMania plan.
I kind of liked them as a tag team.
I still would take AJ Styles over him any day.
I think AJ is going to screw around and be done before he gets the chance to really work in a good company.
Well, I heard WWE didn't want to have anything to do with them.
Well, he had talks with them several times.
Right, but they wanted to offer him 30% of what he was making in TNA.
Well, now he's making nothing at TNA.
Well, he's making, he signed with New Japan.
Right.
Which guys like him thrive over there.
And he loves that.
Yeah.
But, you know what I mean?
Well, at least he jumpship before it goes down.
Yeah.
And Flair said it will be done by August.
Oh, yeah.
He said last year's summer slime to that coming.
He's got one more year left in it.
Well, they're really scared of Jeff Jarrett's new promotion.
It should be.
Yeah.
They could have had.
They could have solved this.
I don't know if you heard the Toby Heath story.
No.
Toby Heath was going to buy it.
Him and Jared were going to buy it.
And Dixie's daddy said, I'll send it to you.
But Dixie stays present and she says it's on air talent.
Oh.
And Toby Heath said, if it's my company, nobody gets creative control.
I'm sorry.
And him and Jared went, you know what?
We can do this on our own.
Yeah.
But then he had the problem.
I don't know if you heard him and Karen drum can got a little stupid at an indie show a couple weeks ago.
Really?
Where the promoter couldn't afford to pay them.
Everything is like, here's half of it.
There was a PayPal area.
You'll have the other half within two games.
I promise you.
Jared would nuts.
And then Karen went nuts at a merch table because she said her merch wasn't there.
So she lost $1200 and she wanted to check right then.
Oh, please.
Some more courting.
Let's go in.
You can keep that.
Yeah.
Mickey James has verified she is pregnant.
We don't know if it's a Magnus baby or not.
Nobody's saying, but that is the theory.
And sacrifice is on right now for the five of you watching.
I'm excited.
Ouch.
I know.
This.
On a certain level, I feel bad for TMA because this is failing.
So bad.
But they did it to themselves.
Well, Dixie did it.
Yeah.
I mean, her daddy's bleeding money.
It's hemorrhaging cash.
Of course.
And I still think my theory still holds that Hogan was sent there by Vince to tear it down from the inside.
And then Vince will buy it for pennies on the dollar.
And then he'll have all the stink footage.
And maybe that's where we're waiting on.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey.
Don't.
Wack your finger.
Wack your finger.
Oh yeah.
Don did say you wanted to give love to the sign of the week.
There was so many that had a yes, yes, yes, yes.
And it was crossed out and said cell cell cell.
Oh.
W of e stalk.
Yeah.
That's funny.
Let's talk a little bit of impact.
Oh.
This beautiful people thing just doesn't work for me.
No.
Velvet cannot be a heal anymore.
She's just not good at it.
And I've always found Angelina love creepy.
Really?
That's a very handsome woman in my personal opinion.
I like her.
I just she's just does nothing for me.
Velvet.
I don't.
But still.
But this this Brittany chick.
If you don't see her turning on Madison rain and during the beautiful people.
Then you live in a cave because that's how this is going to go down.
It was good to see a Madison rain and Gil Kim tag again.
Because I don't like Gil Kim is a heal.
How's Gil Kim doing?
I don't really watch Tannay very much.
She's not.
Right now Madison Ranger knockouts champion.
Okay.
She's wrestling Angelina tonight on the paper view for the title.
The deep the.
The knockouts division is tough.
It's very very bad right now.
Just much like the rest of that company.
I like the kid that's got the exhibition title.
Sonata.
He's Japanese.
He's trained by Muda.
Okay.
And he's they finish up.
Well, they finish up a best of three series.
Him and this kid.
T. Great Uno who was trained by Ray.
Very nice.
Where is Ray?
Hopefully about to retire.
Oh.
Because he got will either side.
His his his his contract expires.
I'm sorry because you weren't wrestling any with us.
His contract expires end of May and neither either sides has talked about this.
He's getting injured.
Or injuring other people.
Right.
I love Ray.
Don't get me wrong.
But it's kind of walk away.
It's time.
Kind of walk away way.
And you have to.
Yes.
You had a return this week.
Bobby Lashley.
We have a Bobby Lashley.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And.
They just.
They just called them.
Yeah.
No.
He wrestled.
Kenny King.
Who's now the king of the night.
Oh.
That's his bit now.
But I guess calling him the boss Bobby Lashley just didn't quite work.
It's just Bobby Lashley.
Yeah.
But you know what?
Not a lot.
He actually looks better.
Like I thought. Oh my god.
This is going to be horrible.
Because you've been doing the MMA thing.
Right.
No ring rust.
And he actually looks better than I remember seeing him.
He's a lot more agile.
A lot around the lot better.
It was a good match.
Yeah.
With a guy like Kenny King who is a seasoned veteran of that.
Extivision style.
I thought he was really, really good.
Because remember what my nickname for him used to be.
No.
Black Lesnar.
Oh yeah.
So they're calling big email.
So.
Because that's about how mobile he was.
I'm glad to see that he's your finding his mobility.
Your next NXT live special on the network will be Thursday, May 29th.
It's going to be at eight Eastern, which is actually one hour before impact.
They're not going head to head with impact again.
And Sincara, we found out today could wind up in Triple A, but they're going to have to
change the name because CMLL owns Mystico and WWE owns Sincara.
Oh.
Great.
Have fun with that.
Yeah.
Okay.
But this isn't the original Sincara, right?
The guy we're talking about right now is the guy that's Sincara in WWE.
If that's Unico.
Okay.
We know the guy that came in as Sincara.
Got it.
Bit.
Yeah.
Bit.
And somewhere Brock Lesnar is going, hey, I'm not the worst one.
Right.
You're beautiful audience.
Here's my five million amount.
You know.
Good.
Damn Brock Lesnar.
And it came instead on check out.
There was a two-part interview on Austin's podcast.
Very good interview.
He said, Lesnar's not going to work a full-time schedule.
Just understand it.
He won't do it.
He doesn't have to.
I'm like, how do you let somebody who's not a full-time wrestler break the streak?
Oh, I'm so break the streak.
And to see that was my thing with him.
There were so many other guys.
Sting.
Sting would have been great.
But he wouldn't work a full-time schedule either.
I would have rather have seen John Cena break the streak.
There was rumors for a while that Sincara would be the last person Taylor would wrestle.
And it still wouldn't break the streak the streak would stay intact.
I really don't see why the streak had to be broken.
That the man retired with the streak.
Well, it was a Vince McMahon decision like a week out.
But, and Taylor didn't.
And Taylor didn't.
He was cool.
He didn't debate him.
But I was just like, I know.
When have you ever known Taker to not tilt the company line?
I understand that.
But he still has first rights of refusal.
Yeah.
But he could have if he wanted to.
Right.
And Vince would have said, OK, cool.
Just tell me what you want to do.
Yeah.
He looked pretty slow.
That matches.
But Vince says, you know, Taker, it's,
I hate to do the stupid quote.
Best for business.
Taker, it's like, you're right.
OK.
You know better than I do.
But Taker would still have told him if he didn't agree with me.
Yeah.
He may not have had it.
But he's silent about it.
But he would have been like a guy on it.
I mean, and I guess at the end of the day,
I respect the dude's wishes.
But as a fan, it just didn't make sense.
It's very disappointed.
There's this hole in my soul because of it.
Yeah.
Because it's like, because now I got to listen to Lesnar for the rest of my free
Can life.
No, you don't say that he broke the streak.
I don't have to listen to Lesnar.
He had to listen to Heyman.
Heyman.
And I don't know.
I think they could have done better with Cesaro on his own.
Just let him break out.
You didn't have to be a whole polyemium because he was already established.
Yeah.
But they had to replace Sam Punk.
They didn't give me the book.
So.
And they never will.
Even though they've got their own fault.
Yeah.
Let's talk this back down.
So I guess Vicki's not done yet.
You weren't at WrestleMania, but we talked about this.
Yeah.
The rumors were that was the last week of her career.
She was on SmackDown this week.
She kind of got ceremonyously asked to leave.
Brad Maddox came in and ran the show.
But.
And we kicked off the show with a debate.
Really?
Zeb called her versus Paul Heyman over Cesaro.
Which then led to a Jack Swagger Antonio Cesaro match,
which by the way kids went 30 minutes.
Really?
That was a that whole thing was a quarter of SmackDown.
Wow.
A show that's most likely catch anyway.
Yeah.
It was a decent match.
It's better than I've seen Swagger work in a while.
But Cesaro was just great.
Yeah.
Like he is freakishly strong.
Did he do the swing on?
He did.
Oh.
And I think people need to learn how to count the rotations.
You don't count the one until he gets all the way around.
It's kind of like the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania.
No, it's just WrestleMania 25.
Now, Piper got it right saying it was 29 years ago.
So it's not the 30th anniversary of WrestleMania next year.
Right.
And we finally get to see the version of the shield we want to see.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, it was.
But if they said, oh, yeah, the shield is going to be 11 on three.
I'm like, we did this on raw and it didn't work.
And SmackDown last week and raw the week before.
Is that the version without Dean Ambrose in it?
Oh, I'm sorry.
He hates Dean Ambrose.
I like the kid.
Although he does remind me a little bit of Shane Douglas.
He's over by.
He over sells everything he does.
Okay, off air.
I've tell you something about Dean Ambrose.
But this was the shield I've been waiting to see.
Where they just decided, you know what?
Yeah, we'll take the 119s, but 118 making it to the ring.
Yeah.
Where they just went backstage and they beat everybody.
Almost the entire 11 guide.
Who did they end up with in the ring?
I think Titus O'Neill was involved.
There was like five of them left.
And they just loved watching the shield obliterate people.
Yeah.
And somebody was somebody on the stage
that rains hit with a superman.
Something like.
God, I hope they turned it back.
Oh, no.
Yeah, I mean, it was.
That dude does a superman punch much like your leader does.
And by the way, speaking in which that's why I'm surprised you haven't seen
the winner soldier yet because he's in it.
I know.
I heard about that.
Is it a big part?
Little bomb.
He's in the first 20 minutes of it.
And then you see him later.
Okay.
I got a lot.
But he has a very understated role, but it's a good role.
I love George.
I hope he comes back.
I, you know, he tore his other ACL.
So he just got through a surgery.
And now he's got the cast off.
And he's back in training.
Well, he was on the that Canada versus Australia.
Ultimately fighter.
He came to visit the house.
And they because it was after the fight.
No member.
And they asked him about it.
He said, I gone back and I've watched it.
He said, you know, I don't know that I dominated that fight.
But I won that.
Yeah.
Because that was the big thing.
A lot of people said he didn't win that fight.
Well, it could have gone either way.
I mean, there were there were two rounds there that were kind of iffy.
And what do you know?
I'm always going to go with George.
And, but what does it say above the door as you walk into the gym for the ultimate fighter?
What does it say?
Don't move in the hands of the judges.
Never leave it in the judges hands.
Yeah.
Ever.
And they're right.
Yeah.
You know, you got there and beat somebody up.
I know.
I hope he comes back and kicks everybody's ass.
And that's all right.
You can do that.
Sorry.
You're good.
And for those of you that don't know,
Summer Ray has been replaced with Leyla.
And I'm going to say it.
Leyla works the outfits better.
Oh, yeah.
I'm going to play with him for years.
Well, former Miami heat dancers.
I know.
I know.
And Summer Ray has never done anything.
I think Summer Ray.
Oh, Don says to buy that ended up taking on the show was Riberg, Axel, Sandal, Del Rio,
and Titus.
Oh.
Yeah.
They could kick all their out.
Yeah.
They did.
Yeah.
But, Layla just worked.
She fills the outfits out better.
I like Summer Ray.
I think she's a pretty girl.
But she's pretty when she doesn't open her mouth.
She's got funny shape teeth.
I don't know if I can get through two, but we're gonna try real hard. If we don't get through them tonight, we'll get through them tomorrow. Okay, so because he comes over early so we can get caught up in game thrones before wrong. So I haven't watched that.
No, I know. I know you're, oh my god, you guys are like the third people today just to tell me that I need to watch hard if it's weeping right. I'm sorry, I know. I watched so many shows. It took a while for me to.
Well, like I didn't watch breaking bad until after it was over. I never watched an episode. Oh, it's good. You need to binge watch it.
I think I'm, I back at so much. I got a binge. See, walking dead. Oh, you've never watched an episode. Oh, my daughter is obsessed with that.
I love walking dead, but I'm also like three weeks behind on agents of shield. I love.
Well, but apparently it's getting really, I'm, I'm arrow. I'm like four weeks behind. I've got, I'm like at least two episodes of SNL behind. It's between the film festival and Easter week and everything else. I'm just way behind on everything. Luckily, my DVR.
That's the room. But, uh, childhood divorce from him. Yes, I'm telling you.
Jen said to me on the way home, they she's like, you really start watching some stuff. I'm sure I got a bunch of movies on the DVR right now. It's sad.
Let us move on right now and do movie talk, which I am not prepared for.
You're listening to the clubhouse podcast live every Sunday night, seven Eastern four Pacific.
I mean, I don't say ever because we've been off for two weeks, but don't go on it. We earn a week off every once in a while.
And I will tell you now, Memorial weekend, we will be taking the week off. Okay, because I will be off the grid for a few days. So, morning you now, morning you now.
Box office numbers out of the top 10 this week, the Kevin Costner film draft day.
Boy, that didn't go makes you clear. They did like 90 screenings of it in this town.
2.8 million dollars for a three week total of 24.1 million dollars.
Noah out of the top 10 did not make nearly its budget back.
Did you guys see that? No, no. When I heard there were rock people that were helping him build the archive.
Yeah, I heard it was weird. It's made 97.23 million dollars on a $125 million dollar budget.
And Oculus drops out of the top 10 from 8 to 15.
But it made $25 million dollars on a $5 million dollar budget. So they're doing okay.
Coming in at number 10 this week dropping from 5 to 10 and I could not be happier for the stone drop on this.
I'll haunted house too. Oh, thank God.
$3.2 million dollars for a two week total of 14.
You know what the budget on this thing was? It makes 14.3 million dollars.
What the budget on this bus? 4 million dollars. Really?
These are probably going to get another one.
Dropping from 7 to 9 is divergent.
$3.6 million dollars losing 420 dollars. Yeah, losing 420 theaters this week.
6 weeks it makes a $139.5 million dollars on an $85 million dollar budget.
So it makes its money and the rule of 50.
So it's going to be doing well.
Bears goes up from 10 to 8.
The Disney documentary.
3.6 million dollars for a two-week total of 11.1.
Do not have a budget on that. Still think it should have been narrated by Dick.
Look at these bears.
That's just me.
And the theme song should be dialed.
If I did can George Winton.
I've probably got to rest his soul.
Day viewing at number seven, the horror film, The Quiet Ones
makes $4 million this week and no budget available on that.
goes from 4 to 6 this week with 4.1 million dollars. This thing has made
$18.5 million on a $100 million budget. Debs films are in a free fall. The past
three films he's put out had just flopped. Loomers are playing. Fromers of
him playing Dr. Strange. That's been playing around for years. Day viewing at
number five is the Paul Walker Vehicle brick mansions. It's like a cop parkour
film. It looks interesting. I'll check it out. Probably not in first run. Right
I'll check it out. It makes $9.6 million on a $28 million budget. It's
something like that. So there's that. Oh, there we go. In fourth place dropping from
the bronze medal is Rio 2. I've never seen it in one of them. Oh, first one was good.
First one's 15 points. 13.7 million dollars in three weeks. It's
$9.6.2 million dollars on a $103 million budget. It seems like a lot. Maybe
somebody's got to pay the bills for the computer power or the cast. Oh, there you go.
In the bronze medal, Captain America, the winner soldier drops from first place.
$16.1 million for a four week total of $224.9 million dollars. Wow.
$1,170 million. Oh, by the way, you'll be happy to know we bought Frozen yesterday.
But you haven't watched it. I haven't watched it yet. Okay. Have you seen it? I've seen Frozen.
Is it the cutest thing? It is adorable. I don't know. I'm not as big on it as everyone else
is, but we kind of felt like peer pressure into it. Yeah. We have it. So we're going to watch it.
And day viewing in the number one position a movie we talked about before the show,
the other woman makes $24.7 million. Budget 40 million. Wow. It'll make it some
money back. Oh, yeah. I could tell you what I thought about it, but then you wouldn't go
down low the iTunes exclusives. So they're deal with it. Yeah. Nina, Nina, Nina.
Giggity, Giggity, Giggity. Oh, right. So we go back from Perf territory. I know. I'm
about ladies. Two weeks ago, David Fincher bails on the Steve Jobs biopic written by Aaron
Sorkin. Money. What's the story behind that? Money. Really? But now Danny Boyle,
being looked at for it. Or my fan. Yeah. And the whole movie is only going to be three scenes.
But that's the way Aaron Sorkin can write. Yeah. He's just that great. And by the way, in case
you didn't know, the upcoming season of the newsroom is going to be the final season. And I'm very
upset about that. I've never seen the newsroom. Great show. Really. Jeff Daniels,
genius. Did you see the newest still from the dumb and dumb or two? No, them take him. The
two of them taking a shower and her a waterfall. No, it didn't carry. He's got the whole towel
wrap thing going on. Daniels is brushing his teeth. I can't wait to this movie. Okay. I didn't
really dig the first one. I, you know, and I think it was so long ago that I watched it. I was
kind of a kid. So maybe it didn't all make sense. I think I'm going to have to go back and watch it.
She's another one that has to remind us how old we are. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that. I noticed
that a lot with movies. Like all have seen them. And then all of a sudden we came up. I was three
shit. Right. Well, like pulp fiction. I watched it the first time. And I was like, I don't get it.
I saw the thing. And then I saw it again. And it was fantastic. I showed that to my daughter a couple
weeks ago. It's great. And she was like, now I get it. Now I see what that is. Maybe so much.
Good. I have to watch it again. In news that makes me want to throw something at a wall, Mrs. Doubt
fire. Two is a thing. But is it really a thing? Robin Williams is in. This is happening.
That's not a hunt actually wrote a version of the script. Really? Yes. You're going to say the same thing.
I was a little girl out. She's like something. What do you want to do with it? Yeah. I wouldn't either.
I don't know where they could go with that. Robin Williams got on me now. I know. I like Robin.
They can get anybody to play that little girl's role. Think about it. She's really.
She's grown up. Yeah. Nobody remembers what she looked like. Pretty much. I don't even think
she's acting anymore. Probably why she's saying that. I think she just walked away from it.
Mattel is teaming up with Sony for a live action Barbie movie. Are they going to have that lady? Who's
the real like Barbie in it? She creeps me out. Like that's like she could be in the next version of the
purge. She's so creepy. I know. Yeah. That's sequel coming out very very soon. So there's that.
Right. Looking forward to it. I thought it had someone in the chat room. Are you really?
Are we all going to go guys? I'm going to go. I'm watching it at Grumins'
Chinese theater. I'm watching it at Grumins'. I'm watching it at Grumins'.
So John Fabro. I love him. Directing the Disney live action version of the jungle book. There's
going to be two versions out there. Fabro is probably going to have the better one because
it's got the Disney machine behind it. We already know that Idris Elba is going to vote
voice share con. You put him in it there, man. He's going to string her bell when the greatest
characters in the history of television. Bar none. He wants Scarlet Johansson to voice cop. Which I
could see that. And he wants you to see her every day when she's a voice. Although she was great
in the winter soldier. She had one of the best lines she pulls up to pick up Captain America,
because they're in DC. You know, you boys know the way of the Smithsonian. I'm here to pick up a
fossil. Very funny. And she is with child. Yes, she is. Because the big question is how much of
age of Ultron had to fill up. And he wants Lupita and Yongo from 12 years of slave to voice
Rochka, moglies adopted Wolf mother. This will be in theaters October the 19th, 2015 in the
year that we will have no money. Right. The atrically, I have no money.
And by the way, maybe it'll be at the next Dallas film festival. We'll get to see it. What is next
Sunday, sir? Next Sunday. Extreme role. Oh, besides extreme roles. What else is next Sunday?
Think of the date. Is that the fourth? Oh boy. And they're saying
might have made the fourth movie with you. It's International Star Wars Day. Actually, it's
intergalactic Star Wars Day. But they're saying we're going to get a title. We should be
getting a title on a cast list for episode seven. Oh, there's the rumors are out there right now.
And the numbers have been floated out there. It's at least a two hundred.
No, I'm not scared of it. I'm scared of it. It's adorable. The final homid film has a title.
And it is not what everybody thought it was going to be. It's going to be called the battle
of five armies. What did you think it was going to be there and back again? Oh, that was the rumor forever.
But then they changed it. So they were talking a couple of weeks ago. There was going to be into the fire.
But was that a shocker console? That's three to five. There was a fight.
That'd be funny if she really wrote that for that movie. It'd be awesome. That would be great. You
should stick to it. I love me some shocker. Maybe you should tweet her. Maybe she'll respond to you.
You know why he has a streak at all right now. Yeah. So in this next thing, I'm not sure how I feel
because I'm starting to wonder that we're putting too much into Batman versus Superman.
Because cyborg will be in it. They say it's going to be a small role, but his role will grow as the
franchise grows. He's being played by a young man into Ray Fisher. The only thing that IMDB has for
him is a short call, the good, the bad, and the confused, which is what I like to call Tuesday.
Every day of the week. So I'm a little leery on this one. You've already got wonder woman going here.
Can we hold on to cyborg till Justice League? I don't see why why not. There's no reason to
overburden this thing. By the way, finally watching episode of Hulk and the agents of Smash, I liked
that Deathlock was in it. It was kind of cool. I enjoyed it very much. And they did an episode.
They did do an Avengers episode with Guardians of the Galaxy, which I'm sure made your
geek brain slow ready for that movie. Also, this midnight writer thing is getting weirder.
If you don't know about this, this is the Greg Almond Biopic, where the young lady, the stunt,
the stunt woman died last year and a lot of people were upset because she was like at the bottom
in a little banner during the In Memorial with the Oscars. Oh, that's right. William hurts out.
And Greg Almond is now begging the production company. Don't do this thing. Just scrap it.
Because there's all kinds of things going on. He's like, look, just before anybody else gets hurt,
just scrap this. Really? And when the subject of the biopic. Yeah, scrap. Done, done. It's all I'm saying.
So, Missy, I know you're a bit younger than us. Did you enjoy the gym in the holograms back in the day?
Yes, sort of. I wasn't that much of a girly girl. I like boy stuff. Teenage mutant and jitterals.
What do you think about, have you seen the trailer for the new one?
Yeah. What are you thinking on that? I don't know. I think trailer was funny. Yeah.
I like the whole. It's just a mask. It's a mask. It's definitely one. That's what's freaking out.
There is a poster up for the new one. Is there? Yeah, it's just kind of you see a little bits of their face.
But gym will be Nashville star Aubrey Peoples. She was in Sharknado.
Oh, an impressive resume. She was also an ace of interapet detective junior.
Oh, God. She did one episode of the new CW series Star Cross, which I've watched. She was in the pilot.
Yeah. But she's currently Laila Grant on Nashville. The lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin does quite enjoy that show.
And she's on two episodes of Grey's Anatomy.
She did two episodes of the reboot of Charlie's Angels, which lasted two episodes.
Oh, she did that USA series necessary roughness with homeworld from rescue me from rescue me. Yeah.
I missed that show. I was great. She did a couple of episodes of Burn Notice. What is Burn Notice?
They're showing USA.
Did you ever see that episode in a live? When they did the game show of what is Burn Notice?
No. And they kept asking, and today this is like highest rated show on cable.
And then somebody goes, is it filmed in Miami? Like, Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing. There's like,
we've never had that before. Do we go to a lightning round or?
This is that I'm showing you guys the poster for gym and the holograms. That's up right now.
You can look this up on IMDB. There is a page for it. Does it make me want to go out and see it?
It would not be. I think it looks kind of cool. It doesn't tell you anything.
But the poster looks kind of cool. Oh, yeah. The poster. It's artistic.
The poster for the movie adaptation of the video and dinner alive looked more interesting than that.
That movie is great for bad movie night though. It truly, truly is.
And I guess this one will be too. There we go.
Thanos has been cast.
But they're not saying who, but he will be in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Kevin Figgy is going that far.
You will see him in Guardians. Well, we saw him in Avengers, but we saw him in Batman.
Well, no, but you're actually going to get him established, which is good because you know we're
I'm going with this. Yes, because you got it. If you're going to have him, you got to have
Adam Orlach and I think that's going to be Nathan Philion. I've said it. And if it happens,
smartest man alive.
Lucky is guess her a lot. No, that was not a guess. After I saw that he said the
he may or may not be in a watched the credits. That's what I'm going.
Mark Burnett is re-making Ben Hurr because we need that.
What is with all these remakes? Why can't people think on their own?
I've got my own issues with Mark Burnett and his and movies with the Bible and Son of God. I've
already got my issues with that because Son of God is Jesus 101. That's right. You can talk
about that off air in my issues with that. But it's going to be in February 26, 2016.
So you're already telling me before you've been sort of filming the movie, you're releasing it in
February. You're expecting it not to be good because January February is movie studio jumping
around. Yeah. So and the early part of the George Clooney may or may not be engaged.
No, they say he is. They're saying that his publicists are not making a statement. But apparently
he has been romancing 36 year old attorney, Amal Alamudin. God, I hope you got that close.
She's British. She's British. So she sounds like she's from London. Yeah, kill him.
Whatever it is, I want to know what she's got. But apparently they went out of a weekend
trip to Cabo and he proposed to her and they had a big party. So ever was she's got apparently
the Keibler didn't. Right. But she's pregnant now.
She's a heat. Yeah. Well, she's a her new house. And that way she had kind of a shotgun marriage.
That's what a lot of people are saying. Allegedly. Allegedly.
Allegedly. Our favorite word on this show. Allegedly. All right.
New. Oh, I meant to play this during that segment though. Let's try it again.
George Clooney allegedly engaged. Because you have to pay the Randy Savage missile with a sweating song.
Oh, fuck a love of God. Oh, I still picture George Clooney in facts of life.
He was a handyman. He was fantastic. I would give myself second greatest moment ever to his
moment on the facts on life because that was pretty I was good. That was a defining moment.
Yeah, I'm going to say it. He was good. He was good in Rosanne. Yeah. Remember?
Well, I was talking to somebody the other day about, you know, the the talk. You know, that was Sarah Gilbert's
brainchild, right? She created that really. Yes. Because I was saying what something they're like,
what seller Sarah Gilbert doing on the show. Like she made the show. Oh, I had no idea.
Because you know, the Chen bots in it because she's married to less moon. Right. So you know,
I should tell her though. I like her. She's good. She's funny. She's funny. She's good.
Look, and she doesn't take herself seriously. She's on our tour. So there's that. All right.
New movies and places that you watch movies in this week. A movie that we're not going to be able
to go to a screening of yet. So we will not be able to reveal it until it releases the amazing spider
man to chads a little nervous right now. I'm okay with this. I'm looking forward to this. And for the
first time in 17 years of friendship, a spider man movie, I'm looking forward to that he's not
usually the other way around. It's not that I'm not looking forward to it. I'm worried. I'm
worried that it's not going to live up to the bar that the last film said. And I love the amazing
spider man. I hated the rainy trilogy. I don't think I like I want to stab Samarine with my car.
This is the one which the British guy and Emma. Mm-hmm. Whatever name. I'm a stone. Yeah, that one.
How are you doing? Her. Andrew Garfield. That's him. You're going to have the Rhino. You're going to have
electro. You're going to have the green goblin. And therein lies the problem. It depends on how much you
use them now. And I think that's where you're worried. I think you have this feeling. They're just
going to shove all of them in there at one time. If you kind of sprinkle it in a little bit so you can
set up for the sinister six, I'm kind of okay with it because this is exactly what happened in spider
man three. You had to. Denom, you had sandman, and you had the hob goblin. And it collapsed. Well,
well, that I think that I have a lot to do with it. It's part of the comic book, sir. That's part of
the comic. They should have called the second one that. Well, they should have it called Stark.
And then they should have called episode two. Anakin loves freaking pad made, but we deal with it.
You're God. The rainy trilogy was terrible and I will take that to my grave.
Also this week a movie called Walk of Shame. Have you? Do you see the trailer for this?
It looks funny. First of all, Elizabeth Banks. Yeah, Christopher. James Martin's in this,
Jillian Jacobs from Community. Who I love Sarah Wright, Ethan Supley, who's lost a ton of weight.
Really? Well, if Jonah Hill could do it, I guess, Ethan Supley can't see. The great
comedian Bill Burr is in this, who I am a huge fan of. Lawrence Gillier Jr.
shows up in this as well. Basically, a reporters dream of becoming a news anchor is compromised.
After a one night stand, leaves her stranded in downtown LA without a phone car, ID, or money.
And only eight hours to make it to the most important job interview of her life.
Elizabeth Banks does comedy. What's she got? Yeah, she's good. So I'm okay with it.
And James Martin's kind of got some. He's got some comedy chops.
And she's got Spider-Man ties, too. Does she? She was, she was, uh, Jonas Secretary.
Oh, that's right. DVD and Blu-ray new releases in places where you get DVDs and Blu-rays.
As we prepare for the real version of her Achilles with the rock, you can watch the crappy one.
It's a legend of her Achilles. What? What did Liam McIntyre? What was he thinking doing this?
I got nothing. That's your Spartacus, sir.
Labor Day an uplifting tale about a woman who loses her husband and then gets taken hostage by another man and falls in love with him.
Oh, good job, Kate. Sounds like fun. And it's Kate Winsley. Oh, I like it.
Uh, the complete series of Hill Street Blues. What a great show.
Like the theme song, apparently. It'll sort of pass away. It's the criteria and collection
Treatment this week. A movie that I'm pretty sure you have an interest in. I'm kind of pseudo
and should call the scape from tomorrow. What this is is it's a horror film that was filmed
Gorilla Style at Disney World in Disneyland. Oh, really? Like they went in with cameras and filmed
this movie without Disney permission. So how are they able to release this film?
It's been a struggle. Yeah, it's been a good look up the trailer for this because you watch it and you're like,
this is weird, but I kind of want to see it. Yeah. Yeah. And the post report just like,
and it looks like Mickey's like just scraping down. Oh, no. I can't win it this several months back.
And I can't forget about it. It's written in the Disney font escape from tomorrow.
Right. Uh, Sophie's choice. Collectors editions. Speaking of Phil Good movies. Right.
Watching if you're in a good movie. Yeah. And a couple of WWE releases this week. The best of
in your house. Do I get beware of dog? You know the hell in the cell is going to be your lord.
You know hell in the cell is going to be on there. Because that was that in your house if you
will never correctly say in your house. And this year's Royal Rumble, if you want to sit through
that again. No, thank you. Could there have been a Royal Rumble where we knew the outcome of
it clearer than this one? Was awful. We do have some mysticistic people that listen to our show.
But you know, but what do we always say? There's multiple reasonings behind our gathering
at Fox and Ham. We love our friends at Fox and Ham. We get to see Misty and every gives us an
excuse to handle their friends. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm just not going to watch it at the house.
If I've already seen it, I still don't have WrestleMania 29. I got to get that.
All right, tech corner. This is such a good story. And urban legend has been proven true.
An excavation team this week has unearthed the whole that all of the unsold cartridges for
E.C. the Atari 2600 game were buried. And you saw who's leading the expedition. I did not.
No, really, you don't know. Dude, I just read this. I glanced at this morning.
Okay. Is it her all the Rivera? Zach Pan.
You have my attention, Filmyan. The ratter of the Avengers and X-Men too. Oh, really. He is
helming a documentary on the story for fuel entertainment. Oh, I will see this. It's it's going to be
on the Xbox. Oh, is it for their for their entertainment studios? Hmm. But he enlisted the
University of North Dakota archaeologist Bill Carrayer and specialist in medial Christian architecture
and former Atari 2600 owner. How funny. Did you guys ever play it? I owned it. I've played it for
like five minutes. It was like a mountain. I heard it was a worst game. It is. Between that and the
Raiders game, it was impossible. Really. He'd beat it. Oh, which. That list, not long
nor distinguished. Right. Because it was, it was just a beating to play. You know how long they
worked on that game? How long? Two weeks. Yeah, it's pretty bad. They got, they got contacted by
Spielberg's people that they wanted a game ready to go about Christmas time and they get told this
in September. Oh. When the film had pretty much just run rough shot over everything out. Right.
That game was turbo and that's what they cranked out. With all the power and graphics,
of power of a scientific calculator. My iPhone's got more power. Well, yeah. Heck yeah.
But that was at the top of a lot of people's urban legend lists for years. They believe that
that landfill existed. They just thought that was a win. And it's a new Mexico, isn't it?
Well, it was going back and forth. It was New Mexico or Arizona. One of the two. And then the
New Mexico rumors stuck the best, I guess. Wow. I guess because this close to Area 51.
It's an Alma Gorda. That's funny. All right. I think as you got protect talk.
Oh, you know what Andrew sent me a text. I hope I still have it. By the way, speaking of
the text talk, if you upgrade to iOS 7.1.1, be prepared to do a factory restore on your
eye device. What? Because both my iPhone and my iPad, it just stopped. And I had to unplug it and
plug it back in, which means I had to do a factory restore. And all of my music still isn't
related. Oh, there are two hours of peace. Just so you know. But Andrew sent me, he actually picked
up a Roku, the Roku, the the $100 model, said it's great. Really. He also sent me something
and I wanted to ask you about sir. Let me see if I still have the text message from him. Um,
because everything got erased. And then I had to give him back. Ah, here it is.
Sony computer entertainment tentatively buys Microsoft Xbox. Oh, please. I'm on IGN right now. And
if that's not the lead story, then I don't believe it. And there's no mention of it on
IGN. So, but the Roku, Kudo big from the Andrew. I was thinking about that because you can get the
network on the Roku. Yeah. And we were talking about it on a couple of weeks ago. If you buy the
middle or upper Roku, it has a headphone jack on the remote. Oh, that is cool. So. All right,
street lights on. Had to think real hard for a list this week. This kind of hit me this morning.
And it's because of what's number one in the list. I thought I'd go through the top 10 bad
toy ideas from my childhood. You're going to have to explain this one because I don't remember this
really. I owned a couple of things on this list. I've owned almost everything on this list. There's
two things I didn't own and there's probably a good reason for that. Number 10, the spiral graph.
Loved it. I had a blast with that thing for about 10 minutes. Like there was too many of the
dials and then if one broke, especially it was one of the big ones broke. You couldn't use like
nine of the other ones. And it just like, hey, I'm going to make circle things. I know people that
still use that. I'm just saying to do anything. I got to kick out of them. I had one and it was like fun
for especially when you went outside during. Yeah. When you had those when you had a design that
died covering up and then you had all the pin holes in your paper because you had to pin the stuff down.
It was like, if I look at it, it looks like stars. No, I don't care. It's a much better.
Number nine, and I had one of these. A wood burning kit. That was too big. Let me explain this
how this works you. And Jeff Fox really does a whole bit about this and he's absolutely right.
He's dead on. You get, the box was probably the size of a jumbo puzzle. Okay. And in this box
were pieces of balsa wood probably a half inch thick at the most, maybe quarter inch at the
most. And you would, they would have pictures drawn on them. And you would break them apart. So you
have one picture. And when you've got this thing that looked like a, for all kinds of persons with
soldering iron, right? It didn't look like it. It was a soldering iron. And it had a cord probably about
eight to eight inches long. Okay. So you could get it just close enough to the drapes to set the house on
right. And it would heat up. And then you would just like trace over the picture on this piece of wood,
which by the way, smelled fabulous. Right. And then you would paint it in like it was a picture.
Well, I'm seven. And you're giving me a nine thousand degrees soldering iron and balsa wood.
I think I used it twice in my mom was like never again. I just got the smell out of the house and
it's been a week. But I'm like, I'm not done with the race car. Don't care. We're going to burn that
thing. All right. And we don't have a fire place. So we've got that a minute. We're going to have a ceremonial
effigy outside. God. And I knew a lot of people that had these in like I didn't get it either. I just
didn't get it. Number eight was Merlin. Love that thing. No, it was stupid. What was Merlin?
Merlin, I'll put it to you this way. You could paint a Merlin and make it look like a futuristic
cell phone. Okay. It was probably about eight, ten inches long. And it really looked like a phone.
Yeah. And it had a look like a phone keypad, but they were lights. And you could play like
19 different games. But you had to have the manual that you could have killed a mule with.
Just to figure out what the games were and how to play it. I had no problem with this.
Didn't like it. He also beat E.T. That's true. So it was it was basically it was basically like an electronic
version of Rubik's Cube. And you'd say no more. You create the patterns with dots rather than twisting
a cube. Like we have a savant in the corner. But he's not really. Number seven, the pong clones.
Like I never problem with the Atari 2600. But I had the radio shack version that there was no
cartridges. It was just a piece of plastic with a bunch of switches on it. And there was one little
paddle thing that was wired to it. So another person could play. Telling you, we weren't rich.
So flip a switch it went from. Can this talk hockey? Yep. Yep. It's exactly what happened.
No exactly what you're talking about. Got granted. I was thankful because I had a video game.
Wasn't it Atari? I just remember going there. Look. This is hockey. No, it's not.
It's double tennis. Number six. And no, I did not have this. But I don't know. Even if I did,
I wouldn't admit it. But the easy bake oven. This could be one of the creepiest concepts ever.
Let's take a light bulb. It's like space food. But it's a you're giving kids a light bulb
that could set the Empire State Building ablaze. See number nine wood burning kits. Right.
This was the girl's wood burning. Exactly. I never understood with a lamp that hot,
how it didn't melt the plastic of the oven. That was with it. But always got beyond me.
And I was always afraid of the food it made. Like I'm not eating something. It's going to turn
big bake with a light bulb. Is it going to turn into like a pot pipe of the first time I invited
it's going to burn my mouth. I like the dessert. You got a TV dinner. No matter how long you
wait. There's only one of us. The apple brown. Oh my god. And the creepy thing is they still make
them. Yep. They do. And they sort of sew something like my creepy. No, I just make it. You're
just giving your kid a microwave. Number five models that did not snap together. I hated
the glue together models. And especially when you had to paint them because you never got the paint
right. I never did. Oh my god. I love those. But if someone that's older, you know, that's a hobby
for a kid that's a recipe for disaster. Like glue that's not like orange tree sap that you could
never. Did you ever glue your long ago? What burning can only once? And I was 23. But still!
Number four and in the 80s I felt so bad for girls. I had to wear jellies. Oh my god.
Love jellies. They still make them. But for the girls that had to wear them back then.
That's the pool when it was hot. Oh not only that, but the way they made them like
you always knew why all the girls you knew had band aids on the backs of their ankles because
they wore jellies. Yeah. I just felt bad. And those were what they were so you think it is. It's
from the Toys musical. It's sealed. They did a musical. And he did a song for it.
Number three stretch arm strong. Loved him and stretch monster. I was always afraid to stretch it
too far and then the evil ooze that made the teenagers you and the internals would come out of it.
I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. You get ticked off at one of your friends. I was going to say
you throw that in somebody. It does then. No, no, no, no, no. Put him in the fridge. And then
you sir. It's like an it or evil. It must be destroyed. It's like an hit with a Mason block. I mean
Number two, the USS flag. I don't know what this is. This was a GI Joe play set
which was the aircraft carrier where their base was, which was cool. It was really cool. The
problem was it was like nine feet long. And I'm about a foot and a half tall. And they
somebody actually brought one of these to the stash on the comic bookman. That's why I came up.
And it took them an hour and a half to put it together really. Like that you couldn't like just
take it to a buddy's house and play with it because it would take you a day to just manage and
get it in the car. Call two. Yeah. Call two guys in a truck. Have them come in dismantling.
Because you have to remember, this thing had to be big enough to house the jet that you bought,
which was easily a foot long and probably eight inches wide. You, you knew your parents
loved you if they bought you this or did they? Oh, I wanted to get you if they only loved you
if they bought it for you and they put it together. Right. You knew that the divorce papers were
about to be. And then you're waking up in the middle of a night and tripping on this thing. And
number one, is this toy soldiers? Yes, it is. Oh my goodness. God bless you, Martica.
You were on kids incorporated. It was a best show. But then again, I love that. But then so it's
for you. But I find her creepy. Now the other girls that were in wild orchid with her, we're all
so on the show. Those are two billion girls. I always found her creepy. She's got some harsh features.
And everybody always had to end with the big hand in the into bed and she beat herself on stage. But
that's true. Well, this, this thing, and we're about to go to, that means two things. And I know
that. But this thing was a toy that my mom bought me. I was probably nine. And I could still remember
the jingle in my head. I just want to, I just want to, you have to sing the jingle. I want to look
him in the face when he says the name of this thing. It was an electronic toy. Much like Merlin,
but it was probably like four times the size of Merlin. My goodness thing. Okay. Yeah. I'm
telling you, this was a thing because I owned it. Look it up, Chad. I want to see it.
And it was, I don't want to say it was tiger made it. Oh. I ride. And back then, you could go to
state fairs. And you probably can today. And you would go to like the side show. And you would play
tic tac toe against the chicken. This is the thing. I think I've ever played tic tac toe against the chicken.
Where the chicken would just like, like with this with his nose would hit the hit the thing. And
that's where they put his deal up. And then you put your deal up and always the chicken would win.
Right. Oh my god. See, it's a real thing, isn't it? Don't act like you don't know. I don't.
I've never heard of this, but. And the toy was called. I took a lickin from a chicken. It's
true story. And Chad has seen it. He can verify this. And you would turn it on. And there was
this little plastic chicken in a bubble. And he would like look around it. He'd swim all around.
And then you would play games against the chicken. Like you play tic tac toe or whatever.
And sometimes you could beat the chicken. He's like glass is on. Yes, he does.
And I challenge you, sir, to look. It's easy. You can find the commercial for this song.
I'm looking. Okay. You're on YouTube. Okay, sing it. Hold it up and you can run it through the board.
I don't know if I can do this, but I will try.
Whatever. I remember. I got it for Christmas. And I, because I was like,
how can you like try and chicken be that smart? And just like that 20 questions thing that you buy pretty
much everywhere. That thing scares me. This is the mid-80s. Did you ever get angry at the chicken?
I'll very much so. Yeah. Don't even stop. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Okay. I've no misty long enough now.
That's sometimes. Sometimes I can beat her to the line. What was the follow-up toy? I took a.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Was there a monkey involved? Oh, oh. Oh, my. You, sir.
And the sad part is I knew what I was getting into. One of these days, you have to have like a wheels off
version of the clubhouse. That's every week. Okay. All right. Here's the commercial.
So we can play it for our fans that are sitting there right now going, is this really going to be sitting this
jingle? Is this going to be all right here it comes?
Oh, no, this is how it starts. What the commercial though? I don't want this.
And it blanks and then you pick which game you want to play. They're selling one on eBay for $399.
You're on your, you're on the pipe. They don't have the commercial up on this.
Yeah, and that, okay, that's the user put in his selection. And then when he says what he wants to do,
then the little robotic chicken looks back and forth. This is him. This is him, right?
And that's how you know he's made his selection.
And it was. So it's Tic Tacto with a chicken. Yes, a robotic chicken. Oh,
robotic show body. Could you could have a wife chicken? He's not that more fun. It would be interesting.
Yeah, make money off it, but I'm just saying. Robot chicken. Hey, there's a market there.
Maybe that's where it came from. Maybe. I don't know. We're done. Let's do it.
