It is Tuesday night
It is 8 o'clock on the east coast
It is 5 o'clock on the west coast
It is the second of August in the year of our Lord
2011
It is season 2 episode 4
It is time for the clubhouse with Robin Kodi right here live on you stream or in your portable device
Welcome
I am Rob the voice you are about to hear is that of Kodi
Hello
Vocal cords back
Back in shape
You're feeling the weather last week
You sound a little better than you did last week
I don't know me talking if that's a good thing or is that a bad thing
I have not heard this
Big fan of the class
You like that you like the little
Don't ever let it be said I don't have a sense of humor
Yes I like that
Apparently we had a little bit of an incident on my facebook page on Friday
Many people thought I was overseas
And in a bit of a bit of a pickle
Mugged and had no money
That's what I was told
If you got that email I apologize profusely
My facebook page didn't get back
Amy Winehouse's funeral you were mugged with no money
I did not quite know where we were going
I think we've got it all straightened out now
So again if you get an email from me saying I'm in London and I've been mugged
Got no money
Only one of those three things is true but it's the last one
And if you're in Texas or Oklahoma
Damn it Todd
Why are you outside if you want to get inside
There's nothing good going on outdoors right now
And what's sad is I'm going to replace the alternator on my car
On top of that 12 billion degree heat we have
I got some news here
Oklahoma's move practices as early as 6.45 in the morning
Well you have to go this time of year
I know our good friends in the show
Phil and Shannon, their daughter Maddie
They moved her soccer practice to 8 o'clock this morning from last night
This is ridiculous
It is hot hot hot hot
Now you wonder people come you know Super Bowl
And some of these Texas teams have indoor practice facilities
Like the pros because it's so hot
They have to
South Lake Carroll Highland Park a lot of these teams have great indoor facilities
For that exact reason it is hot
So if you're without AC or something
God bless you
Because you're tougher than me
And I'll admit that and I'll throw that out
By the way Dr. Jack worked out very well
Very well
What did I man?
Oh is that yourself
That toddy recipe on the clubhouse with Robin Cody.com
So you consulted with for your throw
Yes, your throw
Paging Dr. Wellers
Mr. Herman
Mr. PW Herman phone call for Mr. Herman
Each and every week on this show we do start with
And they're all in Spanish which I think
School
We start with corrections
So
Oh lord
I have to admit I have not had a chance
Listen to the last week's show
Corrections
As Chad was said
Thank you for your feedback
Thank you everybody
Elbroni
Elbroni
Elbroni
This is this hey just press your sat
Press the sat
We are five
Sat
That's how I feel right now
Like a sap
Hey he's growing underway baby
Did you have anything from last week?
I did not have you know what last week great show
Want to thank our in studio guest
Brent Peoples who is here
He has a brand new Facebook page
For his art
If you look up Brent Peoples
P-E-E-P-L-E-S
Yes
The profile picture is the cover of the first issue of his book
That comes out in October
He didn't do the cover but yeah so
Pick that I guess Lone Star comics
You can pick that up
Any of your local comic books
I'm hoping October 5th is the date
So we're launching that deal
Yep be ready for the coming one day
Always Wednesday
Wednesday
So be be ready for that
Okay
Let's just go ahead and get into it
Yes
We are going to get rolling
A little bit of NASCAR talk
As we went live to
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway this last weekend
For the Brickyard
And had a little bit of an upset
As first time NASCAR Sprint Cup winner
Paul Menard
Not the guy whose family owns the grocery stores
Yes that guy
Oh no, Minier has been Menard
Minier's is a grocery store
Menard is a hardware store kind of up on the East Coast
Okay
But he was a guy that I don't even think
Anybody had on their radar to win
He holds off Jeff Gordon
A final lap to win
A guy that you thought would win this race
A guy that I think if you went to Vegas
And bet Jeff Gordon
Everybody else would have said
Not a very safe bet
He holds off Jeff Gordon
Who was on his tail
Jeff wanted Jeff won the race four times
Now it does
He is what team does he race for?
He races his dad owns his car
So he is independent from the race
It's very odd for these type of guys
A to win these type of races
Plus holding off Jeff Gordon
No you know
Brickyard it was a good race
Junior hung around the top 10 for a little bit
Tony Stewart is another one that
A lot of people I thought was going to pull this off
But Paul Menard wins Brickyard
He kisses the bricks
His dad has done a lot of business
With Indie cars
So this was a big win for his dad
Was one that I think a lot of people
Were real happy for
In racing like I said
Independent type sponsor going on
Junior finishes 16
Which I think
Top 20 finish
I thought honest to God
I thought Junior had a little bit better cars than that
Then I thought he had a better
Top 25 car
Carlos Paul Menard
Jeff Gordon
Reagan Smith
Another guy on the top 5
That you don't see all the time
Jamie McMurray Matt Kenseth
Tony Stewart Greg Bipple
Brad Kelslowski
Kyle Busch
One two fours in your top 10
That's it. The rest are Chevrolet
One Dodge one Toyota
So Chevy dominates
At the Brickyard 400
Two guys behind you that are still in the chase at this
Every week he seems to get lower and lower
But he has gotten some good news
As Danica Patrick is getting ready for a
Full
Full nationwide series run next year
She races for junior motorsport
So that's technically the bush series
That's not the big dogs
He's racing a lot of side of Friday nights and Saturday nights next year
So Dale Earnhardt Jr. getting ready to make a lot of money
Because NASCAR will cash in on Danica Patrick
We all know that. I don't know if she's
One of the top race car driver
Female male doesn't matter
This has to work out better than her indie
Takes barement then
But your split cup standings as follows
Carl Edwards back to the top spot
Leech Jimmy Johnson by 11
Jimmy he's creeping
That's why the son of a gun's won all the titles in a row
He's creeping
And that's the thing about the chase though
It literally is in playoff
All you have to do is get there
And then everything is set
All by Kevin Harbett, Kyle Busch, Matt Kindeth, Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon
Now up to 72 points back behind the leader
Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart
And like I said, Dale Earnhardt Jr.
But the crazy thing is
The 10th place car is only 76 points back
Of the number one
So very tight right now
You're lucky dog would be none of the denny hamlin
But he trails Dale Earnhardt Jr.
But almost 30 points
So Dale has some breathing room
Dale needs to put together top 5, top 10
He ain't won a race in 116 straight races
The Joker needs to win
Do you think?
As we go to the polka no motor speedway for the second time this year
If you listen to the show that week
Triangle track
That sounds kind of strange
Of course there's no turn for
It's straight away, straight away turn, turn, turn
Now is it?
I'm going to get geography for you
Is it an equal lateral triangle
Are all three sides the same length
It's an equal lateral
Straightaway turn, straightaway turn, straightaway turn
Very different up in the polka no mountain
So very gorgeous
That's where we head next
We're getting close to that cutoff
And that is what beginning of October
Yes, September
So next six weeks
These next couple weeks are very important for a lot of drivers
Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Ryan Newman
I believe that heard me
I believe you're 8, 9 and 10
You got to stay on the pedal and stay on the wheel
In my opinion
We have back to racing on Sundays again this week
Yes, we're back on Sunday
So as Fox has
Fox taken over this one
And then Fox now the NFL lockout has been
Back on
Their coverage will become very minimal
At this point
Real quick, little note here if you're fan of NASCAR
Versus changes its name
B.C. Sports Network
Well CBS has CBS college
So
NASCAR...
How is that supposed to happen?
I guess we're rolling out
NASCAR
NHL and PDR
And internet
Yeah, no name
But NASCAR trying to roll some stuff out on the NBC
What does that take effect?
Next year
So January 1
So be waiting for the...
Supposedly they're wanting some craftsman truck races
Or maybe some nationwide type stuff
Exactly
So that's why I kind of...
I kind of assumed that they need a NASCAR there
Get some of it away from the worldwide leader
Yeah, well they just have it all going on
So in that team
Yes, and that is NASCAR talk
Alrighty, we're going to use a little bit
Not much entertainment news going on this week
As you are listening to the clubhouse with Robin Cody
We are live each and every Tuesday night right here on Ustream
You can listen to us on our archive
You also can get instructions on how to download the show automatically
Into your portable device
From our website
If you have a droid, go to the droid market
Download the app and I saw it
Done last night, you can listen to the show live on a droid
So that's just awesome
Let's do a little bit of movie news
Did you see this first bullet point coming?
Let me tell you something brother
The power of children
That's exactly what it is
If you have not seen your box office numbers from this weekend
Cowboys and aliens
Which everybody thought was just going to make up the Julian Dollars
Only makes a million dollars more than Smurfs
Which...
We were China remodeling this over the weekend
And this thing, have you talked about getting clothes?
At one point, Smurfs was actually leading
It was one of those deals where you just went, are you kidding me?
For less than a million dollars in the middle of summer
I did not support either one of these films
I actually went and saw Captain America this weekend
Finally got to see that
I haven't seen Transformers but it's on my list
You look at the difference
Less than a million dollars really
The Smurfs does 35.6 million
Cowboys and aliens does 36.4
So $800,000 separates these two films
But you're also looking at
A Rotten Tomatoes rating for Cowboys and aliens down to 43%
But even Smurfs at 21
I don't know if that just relates to who's reviewing the film
I don't know, I don't know anybody that's seen it
But apparently a bunch of people did
Also got word today
Die Hard 5 is going forward
You know this
I don't know man
I just when I saw that
I was like really did
It's great, I think Bruce Will says
Greatness, I've liked every one of these films
I just don't know if I need Die Hard 5
As John McLean and his son go to Russia
It get tangled up
Is this 1987?
Did I miss something?
Are we back in the Cold War?
When I saw this I was like
They are putting a bullet in my opinion
My Die Hard won in 1989
It's in my top 10 films
All-time
I'm a big fan of Die Hard
The first one, the second one
I didn't like the New Yorker
I didn't mind the second one
I'm die hard with the vengeance

I mean, Bruce Willis not going on.
I mean, Hudson Haunt, does it get a sequel?
You better stop now.
And we're not doing a film version of Moonlighting.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And where's Bonnie Videlia?
We can't remember what happened.
New Line Cinema.
I'm challenging you right now on these very airways.
Moonlighting Film.
Oh, I'm looking at his IMDB page, apparently,
who's spendables 2 now officially in pre-production.
And he has listed all of them.
Now Austin died in that, correct?
Pretty sure he did.
Okay.
Yeah, it's been almost as I've seen it.
Can I mean...
Surrogates.
You know, we always do a sequel to that.
Surrogates.
Whatever.
Also, then there's this next thing that we talked about in pre-show
as Harrison Ford coming off a...
Kind of a weekend for Cowboys and Aliens.
Make less than $40 million.
Be granted.
I got that on.
But his next big role, he will be playing Wyatt Earp
in a movie called Black Hats.
The deal here is Wyatt Earp now is a 1920s detective
and movie consultant who teams up with Bat Masterson
to take on Al Capone in New York City.
He finds out that Doc Holliday's son's got tangled up
in Al Capone.
Wow.
Wow, we...
Man.
The only thing I can feel is that it's better be based on the graphic novel.
I mean, because this thing is like...
Batman and Spider-Man kind of ended up in the same place
and then Batman went to work for the daily planet.
In the 70s.
So the disco era.
This thing is all over the map.
Terrible.
Terrible idea.
Terrible film.
Always in on a western.
I just don't need the western in the mod movie to combine.
Can we let greatness just be on the top?
Let tombstone do its bit.
Let the untouchables do its thing.
Don't, don't intertwine them.
Because then I think you're poisoning the well at that point.
Movie New Releases this week.
A movie that's currently at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.
We talked about this movie earlier this year on this very show.
As Rise of the Planet of the Apes releases.
A movie that was originally supposed to be released on Thanksgiving.
But the studio changed it to August,
which normally is a really, really bad thing.
But 83% on Rotten Tomatoes again.
Rotten Tomatoes.com is a website you can go to.
Or they take all of the available reviews for a film.
Put them all together.
And the percentage of good reviews give us its rig.
So currently 83% of the reviews out there for this movie are good.
I saw the extended trailer when I went and saw Captain America on Sunday night.
A lot more of Lift Gal in the new trailer.
He plays James Franco's dad.
Who's kind of his motivation for this serum.
Because his dad's got Alzheimer's.
Still got nothing.
Yeah.
I just...
I know what's going to happen.
The Apes are going to take over.
And then Charlton Heston is going to end up, you know.
Spoiler alert.
He goes, one's back up on Rotten.
And they take over.
And then Tim Burton.
It's a really bad version of it.
That's right.
Tim Roth.
That's right.
Tim Roth.
Now for a few more.
Mark, Mark, chain money.
I forgot that.
That's right.
It's been, you know what?
Sometimes I think I black bad films out of my mind.
You just block them out of there.
I forgot that they've already tried this plan the eight bit.
Not too.
I forgot about that.
That was terrible.
I saw that at one of our local theaters here at a very, very small auditorium.
Then there's this.
A movie that does not have a rating yet on Rotten Man's, which kind of shocks me.
I saw this movie last Wednesday with some friends.
Brandon Chad and Jules and Richard and I went and I saw a screening of The Change Up.
Starring Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds.
Jason Bateman is a family man of his character, Mary T. Leslie Mann, who is Judd Apatow's real-life wife.
And Ryan Reynolds, the swinging bachelor.
And they get drunk and pee in a fountain and wind up in the Presto changel thing.
Why?
My two minute review.
This premise has been done a bajillion times.
You've done the brothers, you've done daughters, you've done father and son.
Yeah, you've done this so many times.
But you know what?
This version of it?
Funny.
Do not bring the entire family unless they're all over 18 because I'm telling you this thing gets wrong.
All we work in blue, right off the bat.
Okay.
Also, when we had to be the screening, we were at a lady who was there with her small children.
They made her sign a waiver before she could enter the theater.
Which I thought was, I respected that quite a bit.
Not, not didn't really enjoy the facility that we ran, but that was another story for another time.
But I enjoyed it.
Good flick.
If you've got people that aren't, you know, too prissy, go see this film, it's a fun ride.
I'll put it to you that way.
Also, this week a movie called The Whistle Blower.
Currently 73% on Rotten Tomatoes, Rachel Weiss, the newly married Rachel Weiss.
It's a Nebraska police officer who takes a job working as a peacekeeper and post-war Bosnia.
And oddly enough, things go wrong.
That's really your major releases.
You're getting into that time of the summer where we start to slow down a bit.
You've got a couple more blockbusters coming, but really made June in the first half of July as where most of your big summer movies come from.
Now you're going to get into the fall where you're going to have a lot of movies released that people want to be in Oscar contention.
Yes.
Then you're going to get into the holiday season when your big blockbusters start coming in again.
But that's really what we've got there.
Notable DVD and Blu-ray new releases this week.
The animated feature Rio, which I don't think was a big player in your household, sir.
No.
Maybe the Rio Angry Birds app.
Yeah.
Or, you know, Dran Dran's Rio.
There with the app.
72% on Rotten Tomatoes.
So you can't complain about there.
Soul Surfer.
Even 50% on Rotten Tomatoes.
This is the true story of the young lady who goes as a professional surfer and gets her arm bitten off by a shark.
Oddly enough, released during Shark Week.
Kind of weird there.
The carry-under was in it.
So.
Oh, that, okay.
Yeah.
And season two of Eastbound and Down hits your DVD and Blu-ray shelves this week.
Love this show.
Getting ready for season three.
Very excited about this.
Kind of quiet in the chat room tonight.
These guys get in there.
Let us know what's going on.
We must either be really, really riveting.
Or, no, everybody's afraid to tell us what we're doing wrong.
Yes.
One of the two.
That's going to handle movie talk.
You are listening to the clubhouse with Rob and Cody live right here on YouStream or on the archive or in your portable device.
Brother.
12 days.
Yeah.
As we will be alive from Fox and the Hound, 75 in Campbell and Richardson, Texas for WWE Summer Slam.
It's a major.
August 14.
Three bucks gets you completely in the door to watch the pay-per-view in its entirety.
They have great food, great drink specials, dark boards, pool.
A lot of other things going on on big screens on television sets.
And we will be live for a pre-show starting out with, say, six-ish.
Sometimes not right out.
Six o'clock.
Right around six o'clock.
We'll take to the airs.
Thank you.
Over a hundred people have listened to the last pre-show at Fox and the Hound.
That's amazing.
We appreciate that.
I love the support.
August 15.
Be there.
Get there.
Oh, I'm going to tell you what.
Get there early.
This is a major that's shaping up.
We're kind of, I still think we're a week away from really knowing what this is going to be.
But trust me.
I see low greens going to be playing live.
Not a Fox and Hound.
He'll be in L.A.
L.A.
But yeah, definitely join us.
Greg, I said great food.
The dark boards.
The table.
Last time.
Want us to give a shout out to them.
Think Fox and Hound for helping us out with a little inclement-heat situation.
And they took care of it.
So, absolutely.
On what probably was the pay-per-view of the year?
If you missed it, bull.
I'm going to tell you something.
You missed a good time.
And we're going to do it all over again in 12 days.
We will be on the air right around six o'clock central time.
If you cannot make it there live, make sure you join us for the pre-show.
We're going to get you ready until you everything you need to know about
Summerslam 2011, which will be live from the staple center in L.A.
For this foreseeable history.
L.A.
Maybe.
So, there's that.
And then, as we go to our next segment here.
That's right.
We have to bring it down a little bit as we do.
Got it.
Got it.
Tiger Woods.
Got it.
Time to me kind of blew the wheels off the golf world.
Did he, though, really?
I think a lot of people thought Tiger Woods would heed to a lot of people's advice.
You know, he's the injuries.
This, this scandal.
The, um, the fire.
It's a long time caddy where he had a lot of success.
He really is.
Which, and really, I still don't quite understand where we're coming from here.
Is this a damn Earnhardt Jr. situation where he's trying to change everything to win.
And there's nothing left to change.
You know, I just, I don't know with, with Tiger.
I really thought, okay, Tiger's going to put the clubs up for at least the remainder of the year.
He doesn't really need the FedEx cut.
He really doesn't mean a whole lot of anything right now.
I mean, I've heard ruins.
He's going broke.
I need to see that hard.
I need to stone cold numbers and facts on that.
If I really believe Tiger Woods is going broke.
I have a hard time with that.
Let me ask you this.
And this is something that I've really kind of been holding on to for most of last week.
And you know, I haven't even talked about this on the phone because I really wanted to get your pure honest of God opinion on something.
Is the caddy that big of a deal of a PGA tour?
I mean, if I go over here to Mesquite Municipal across the way.
And I get a caddy, they're going to let me know about certain things.
If you are a PGA professional golf player, don't you kind of have most of what a caddy does kind of under control?
Yeah, but I think sometimes a caddy can make the golfer feel a little comfortable.
That's what I hear.
That's what I hear.
But in Akron, Ohio, Tuesday morning at the Firestone County Club.
Tiger Woods did a press conference, said he's ready to return and ready to win.
And that's what I've been asking Tiger, Tiger, win a tournament.
I don't care if it's this one.
Isn't everybody ready to win?
Firestone is ready to win.
Colonial.
The Kipper Open, the National.
Tiger Woods in my opinion.
Don't worry about the Masters.
Don't worry about the PGA.
Don't worry about the Open.
Just go out.
And I think Tiger Woods just needs to win a golf tournament.
Last win was in 2009 in Australia.
Last PGA tour win was 2009 BNW Championship.
Right now, Tiger Woods is a 28th official world ranking.
28th best golfer in the world.
This is the absolute worst he's ever been ranked in the history of Everett.
Yeah, I'm not gonna say that.
I'm gonna say that.
Endered first event since Masters in April.
Hold out after nine holes to players' championship.
So that's kind of how everything's been going with Tiger.
I hope Tiger comes out there and, buddy, we're dominating.
Tiger's dominating.
We're winning.
He's up 10 strokes on Sunday.
And he's got the red and we're rolling.
That's what I think this country expects from Tiger.
We expect dominance from Tiger.
We expect kind of an arrogance from Tiger.
Yeah, I'm gonna start talking.
You agree?
Yeah.
Chatroom.
Hello.
Feel it.
But I've been in the opinion that he should just take him the rest of the year off.
He says he's in great shape.
He says the swings have never been better.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Win a tournament.
Win a tournament.
And everybody thinks, well, Tiger needs to just go, just play majors.
Just play major.
Chase Jack.
Chase Jack.
Win a tournament.
Well, here's my thing.
You can't just play majors because you have to have those other tournaments to help you
if for no other reason to help you kind of tweak the little things that are going to get you
when you get to that big stage to win those tournaments.
Exactly.
And I know we don't talk golf a whole lot.
But to me, this is a story.
This is probably, and I wasn't alive to see Jack.
Neither was Rob.
I court sure as hell wouldn't allow you to see Arnold Palmer.
Neither was Rob.
He has to be in class.
Exactly.
I just think this is one of those deals that he's a big deal in this country.
He's a big deal for the sport.
If Tiger Woods can't get the wheels back on to me, the popularity of the PGA in the United States of America,
it decreases.
That's been proven that when he doesn't play the ratings are down.
I just don't, I'm not going to declare this thing dead yet.
I think there, I think the PGA, the PGA was around long before him.
It will be around the long time after him.
You just, if you're the PGA right now, what you have to do is you have, we talked about this on this show for the last two weeks,
you have to start breeding this next generation of guys that are going to take that forefront.
Dale Jr. is not going to be racing in a car forever.
Absolutely.
Johnny Johnson is not going to be racing in a car forever.
As we can see here, Brett Farve hopefully ain't going to play forever.
Kobe Bryant is not going to play forever.
Funny quote by Tiger here.
Tiger, you know, with three months of leg injury, maybe take your off,
said to the media today in a 25 minute news conference this morning,
saying he hasn't felt this good in years,
and had the, notice he had the chin beard going on.
He did.
He did.
He did.
But what do we expect him to say?
Oh, you know what?
I've been drinking and boozing it up and, you know, whatever.
No, he's going to come out and he's going to tell you I feel better than I've felt in you.
You know, and this is the company line and all of sports.
Check, check, check my chat room.
Now, you know, a lot of people don't like Tiger.
A lot of people didn't like Michael Jordan and still don't and still don't.
There's a strong opinion with, with all the great ones had their thing
that made them a smug a hole.
I can say that in custody as we have in the chat room right now.
I just think with Tiger Woods, he was probably, I haven't seen a,
I have never saw an athlete since Jordan as dominant as Tiger Woods.
Never had, never seen it before.
Absolutely had never seen it before.
I, I just think you, like I just think you have to cultivate those next superstars.
So to keep things going.
And let me tell you ratings for this tournament will be through the roof.
The roof.
Until he's out of it.
Until Tiger has been mathematically eliminated.
Because I'll be honest, I played golf the morning of the master's final got home.
Watch the final round.
Tiger got three strokes back.
I'm out.
I'm out.
After Tiger got three strokes out, Cody left the building.
This is the same thing will happen here.
Once Tiger's out of it, people will tune out.
And that's one thing this sport cannot survive.
Is another where ratings aren't there.
NBC just imagined they had NBC had the U.S. open where Roy McLeary went ballistic.
And one by 13 or 14 strokes did you?
I know for a, we watched.
When you came and got me, we had a remote at Fox and Halne that night.
We watched maybe four holes.
Yeah, probably.
And kind of watching Pat and the lead and play boat birdie.
But I also, but I also think that you can't.
Golf is will always be golf.
Just like tennis will always be tennis soccer will always be soccer.
You cannot compare those kinds of things to the big four.
Oh, absolutely not.
Because I don't care if there's 90 Tiger Woods style players in the PGA.
You're never going to have the ratings that the NBA finals will get.
Or let's just be honest.
Yeah.
I mean, you hate to make that.
Let's not.
Yeah, let's not do that.
Absolutely.
The masters is their Super Bowl.
Yeah.
But I'm not going to lie to you.
I'm going to get Daytona 500 ratings for the Masters regardless.
I'll roll by the channel.
Yeah.
But you're, but you're not going to sit down and lock it into the golf channel for four days.
Oh.
But I know, I know guys that will.
I know guys that will start watching Thursday morning.
Right.
And brother, they'll roll all the way to Sunday.
But for every one of those guys you have, I could probably name you ten more.
That will lock into NFL network the first week in February.
And just watch every Super Bowl in the history of ever back to back to back.
Absolutely.
But that's just that's the nature of the beast.
Hey guys, it's over.
Quick and painless.
Yeah.
It was kind of like the check out the doctors coming in after the cleaning checkered for cavities.
Real quick golf segment.
And we're done.
And we're done.
And we're done.
Almost as quick as this TV segment.
Yeah.
Also, don't forget, go to Twitter.
You can follow me.
I am Cody PS off.
I am.
Yes.
That Rob Irvin, E R V I N also follow the show club feed clubhouse W R N C.
Yes.
With Rob and Cody.
We appreciate everybody listening whether you're listening live or you're listening on the archive.
We appreciate each and every one of you.
Yeah.
Like I said, droid.
Get the droid.
Yeah.
You can listen wherever in the world you are.
At least until the ILS 6 comes out, which should have its own version of flash and then we'll be fine.
One quick TV morb for this week.
It was verified today.
Jennifer Lopez will be returning to American Idol at the bargain basement price.
Minimum.
Fear.
This is not a final number.
This is just the minimum that they have agreed to.
One season, about four months, twenty million dollars.
Let me taste up, man.
Oh, I saw her doing that show's cry.
Yeah.
I didn't see her do anything.
I can't do this.
I can't do this.
She cried.
Well, ratings?
No.
This is not 1997.
I'm going to tell you what, man.
She's my Cantonese loaded.
And I'm sure there was a pre-nub as long as 635.
A Beyonce J. Z.
Yeah.
Style.
You never know, bro.
She may need the money.
Is Tyler coming back?
Are we going to have the exact same judges we had last year?
Because I'll watch it.
I haven't heard for sure.
I'll watch the funny parts.
I see you and I are exactly opposite on.
As I've always said, there's two kinds of people that watch American Idol.
There's the people of your ilk that watch it for the opening auditions of the people that...
No, I'm out.
As Andrew Dice said, he's heard cats do certain things with more harmony than the people have.
And there's people like me who have the option of that coin.
I prefer to watch it for once we go to live television.
And we've got the people with talent.
So I am...
Man, I'll tell you.
I am just...
I like it with the funny stuff.
And then I know that she was doing the crying bit even then.
Oh, yeah.
In the early round, she was.
And I told my wife, I said, is she bringing anything to this presentation?
No.
She was not doing anything.
There's my thing on that, though.
I just want to call her up and go, hey, JLo, have you never watched the show?
You've got to know this is how this works.
Some people are eliminated.
You have to crush some people's dreams.
That's what Hollywood does.
Get the hook.
You know?
That'd be funny next year.
I have a big straw hat.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Giant hook.
Just kind of pulls them off stage or a big drop door.
If Randy has a rope and he pulls it and it's the unknown counter.
He's changing the dance of machines because that's like on the old gonshoes.
Pulls the guy in a gorilla suit walks out, pulls a rope.
Apparently, a week from Friday, ABC is going to roll out karaoke wars out.
You know this.
Karaoke is a dead business.
It's got a national culture.
You have.
You know what?
I made check out an episode just to see what this thing is.
This karaoke thing, you know, in.
Rob had a former life.
Can you to meet Karaoke King?
Thank you, sir.
And I just, to me, that ship has sailed on that field.
And you don't play.
You know, you didn't play karaoke.
We don't remember playing karaoke.
Not a game you play where somebody would actually be a winner of a Japan that could play karaoke.
No, they take it very seriously.
You don't do business until you do karaoke.
They have karaoke in the tax season, Japan.
It's a big deal over there.
That's there.
That's their main export to the world.
So J-Lo.
J-Lo, J-Lo.
Coming back to I-Lo for $20 million.
Well, as that, that's my cue there.
As we talk, one little quick hit of national hockey news.
And if you're a, if you live in Nassau County, New York right now, I do not.
If they're nice listening, hey, hey, Nassau, how are you doing?
But the New York Islanders, in a vote to their fans to remodel the Nassau County Coliseum.
A very big place if you are an old school wrestling fan of the old NWA, WCW area.
Yeah.
You are at the Nassau County Coliseum once a quarter.
Because Vince owned MSG, which is where the Rangers play.
So the NWA would go up the blocks of the Nassau County Coliseum,
where the Islanders play, and that's where they would do a lot of their events as well.
You know, the New York Islanders last team to win four straight championships.
It's a Saturday.
They hoisted lower Stanley Cup, for example.
Rumor, and now, by the way, the vote was brought to the people of Nassau County.
And wanted to remodel the Nassau Coliseum at the ringing number of $400 million.
So $400, what was going to remodel the Nassau County Coliseum?
One third of the costs of Cowboys Stadium is going to remodel a building.
Could you not build another building for $400 million?
That was exactly what was going to be my next comment as we can't build a new building for that.
So anyways, now, as we're getting rumor of maybe people going,
are the New York Islanders destined for Barclay Arena in Brooklyn, home of the New Jersey net,
starting if we have an NBA season next year?
I represent Queens. It was raised after Brooklyn.
I don't know if hockey can make it in Brooklyn.
I see you are more well versed in the geography of the New York City than I.
I don't know.
It kind of seems to me like they could go anywhere.
You can still go.
Yeah.
You have the trains. You're right.
Yeah. Absolutely right.
The transportation, getting into New York, if you're on a train, really not that big of a deal.
You can get there.
Just, I don't know, man.
They could still be the New York Islanders.
Maybe that's a good idea. Maybe that's the way that they're going to sell this arena.
It's have two sports teams in the building, like your middlelands.
You're going to have two basketball teams in the same town and two hockey teams in the same town.
It makes sense to let them...
The devils are just...
Yeah.
It just rocks forever there.
But doesn't it kind of make sense to have...
Yeah, you saw that gun.
That's all just correctly.
Just like I did.
Do you have them each both in the same arenas?
It's just...
I think that if I'm an islanders, if I'm an owner or a stake in that team, I've moved to Brooklyn.
Absolutely.
Because you got the Rangers Knicks.
You didn't have the Nets.
Because the Nets and the devils used to share the old middlelands arena.
You talked about it.
I've heard that.
Yeah.
But Jimmy Hoffo was buried somewhere out there.
Allegedly.
Yeah.
Uniondale's a good 60, 90 minutes drive.
I'm saying, I mean, we're not just right down the road there.
But...
You see, we also live in the section of the country.
And John, John will understand this because he and I are from the same section of the country.
But we both currently now live in the section of the country where you tell me 60 to 90 minutes drive.
That'll bother me, none.
If you live in Texas 60 to 90 minutes, that's going to get you across town.
But we're also from a...
And you make that relative where John and I are from in South Florida and I'm sure in New York it's the same way.
60 to 90 minutes is a long time.
Because everything's so crammed together.
But the question here is, in people in the chat room, I'm sure we'll blow it up here.
I want to know people's feelings of resident funded arenas, either newer arenas or remodels.
I just think you have to have a lot of gall to go to a general public when unemployment's nuts.
And you're asking people to raise the taxes and fund an arena where the tickets are so high,
the work and man can barely get in the door anymore.
And where do you live?
New York.
I live in Dallas.
Okay, and what happens?
What happens?
30 minutes down the road from here.
Arlington, Texas.
They wanted everything out there.
Jerry's got the prices of food, drink, attendants.
It's 30 bucks to park a vehicle out there at that place.
And Arlington ponyed up how much for that?
Oh, like $700 million.
So, I mean, we live in it.
It's not like we don't have anything to base this off of.
Yeah, we understand it because we live in a town where it happens.
That's why the city of Dallas, they didn't want to raise taxes.
That's why the city of Dallas said, hey, Jerry, we'd love to have the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas.
But hey, we can't afford you.
We're not going to raise taxes on our residents.
I mean, and here's my other question.
The last time I checked the NHL, the NFL, the Major League Baseball and the NBA,
those aren't government entities, right?
Those are privately owned.
So why should, I mean, I can understand if you are a municipality and you're lobbying to have it put in where you are
because revenues within your community will go up.
Yes.
However, I also understand the concept of, am I going to pay Walmart to build a building?
Exactly.
I mean, exactly.
But yeah, I mean, 30 bucks to park a car, I mean, food out there was nuts.
I've been on that stadium one time and it was the first time Jerry ever opened the doors when George Strait was in town.
I've been there twice and there were both the two in the stadiums.
I just, you know, especially with the advancements and televisions and HD and surround sounds.
To me, in the live gaming experience, it's still great, but it's not a must to really get all your enjoyment out of the building.
So I think this thing with me, I'm kind of think the San Francisco 49ers have had a problem getting a stadium built there.
The Oakland A's, I think they're going to move out of Oakland.
MSG's not what it used to be.
They're actually going through a remodel of MSG right now.
They're going to try to renovate some of that.
The dolphins, new dolphins stadium.
I mean, Lancia, whatever they're calling it now.
I'm just calling it Dolphin Stadium.
I don't think they're doing, I mean, the dolphins have been there and that's it.
They're not building a new dolphin.
No, no, no, no.
But that's Marlins, Marlins.
But Dolphin Stadium, that's an older stadium in the league.
1989.
I mean, that's, nowadays, that's considered an older building.
Chad's got an interesting point.
He says, only if you count me in as a partial owner.
Oh, absolutely.
Can you give him a brother dividend?
I think some of these monster buildings in this current economic times.
I say that every week.
John's ride 87, I apologize.
In these, in these economic times.
Yeah.
The Green Bay Packers put a huge, but a lot of that money was donated by Miller Brewering.
But you also understand the Green Bay Packers are also a, literally, a privately owned team.
Yes.
They have shareholders.
But so that's a little bit deceiving because Miller Brewering gave the Packers a lot of money
to put their name on every bar, every concession stand, every suite in that building.
That's a little deceiving as they did put a lot of money into Lambo Field.
Hold on.
The frozen Tucker of Lambo Field.
But I think you're going to see some of these sports teams told at the voting booth.
Told.
No.
And I have a love professional sport to love it.
Love it.
Love it.
Got to understand what kind of an economic climate we're living in.
But I also think the owners understand that way too well.
That's why they're trying to do it.
Yes.
Oh, absolutely.
Absolutely.
I mean, move a team.
The islanders aren't going to move to Canada.
There's no money up there either.
I think the bills are moving there.
I think the bills are going to melt.
That's hockey talk.
We got to lay off on a tangent there.
Thanks for all the, so great opinions in the chat room.
Thank you very much.
Please, please, please, if you're listening from the sound of my voice and you're not in
a chat room, get in one.
We'd love to hear from you.
It's free.
It's easy.
We're not going to stalk you.
We're not going to get your email credit card number.
Believe me, I just went through that last one.
So get in there.
That's a question.
It doesn't cost you anything.
Bounce us.
Bounce off of us.
August 14th live.
Fox in the hound at Campbell Road in 75 for WWE Summer Slam.
We'll be there totally live.
Six o'clock.
Three show.
Three bucks.
Get you in the door.
Drink.
Food.
Fair me.
Rob.
Chicks.
It's all there.
In wrestling.
In wrestling.
What else do you need?
That's America.
That's it.
Great food.
We do a little music here, sir.
You're hearing them right now.
Who we're going to have to talk about.
Bit button.
Oklahoma boys.
Yes, they are.
Kings of Leon having a little bit of a problem right now.
They play the show right here in our fairberg of Dallas, Texas on Friday night.
I'm assuming Starplex.
I did not.
The article I have did not show where they're picking up to do AAC as a headliner.
They did a couple years ago.
But apparently in the middle of the show.
Jared followed with lead singer.
Found slurring on stage ended up just wondering off stage.
They are blaming exhaustion and vocal strain on it.
A lot of people that were there are saying he might have been struggling a little bit.
It has caused some dissension in the band.
They have canceled the remainder of their American tour.
You also have to remember.
Two of these two of the guys in this band are related.
This is a family business.
And Jared's brother had said, look.
We've got to get our family right first.
We apologize to all of our friends.
This is a great band.
I love this song.
You're here right now.
Radio active.
And what you hear right now.
That's what you hear live.
There's that good.
There's not a lot of production.
That's rock and roll, though, man.
It's rock and roll.
And of course, you know, the bass drummer has the big O.
Use them along the bridge.
I'm sure you're on board with it.
But that's what's going on.
So if you've got tickets to a King's Alley on show for the remainder of this American tour.
You might want to head over to your ticket retail.
Get your money back.
Because you can see them.
Huh.
Which makes me sick.
I really do like these guys.
It's a great work.
And that's really our only music headline this week.
A couple of new releases to talk about this week.
Matt Kerney.
Also a Christian artist.
A lot of people have heard of him.
Has a new album out this week.
Young love.
He's called Young Love.
And then there's this.
You know.
Hi.
This is probably one country artist.
Which we're speaking of.
Trace Atkins is his new album.
Proud to be here.
Drops today.
That's a tall dude.
Big dude.
Former Bouncer in a bar.
X-Wife shot him.
Really.
Yeah.
I'm going to come like a girlfriend.
I love it when you tell country music stories.
Yeah.
That's why I shot him.
You'll tell us a country music story.
Trace Atkins.
Yeah.
You know.
The big hit off this song is called We're Just Fish.
We're Just Fish.
And it's about him and his daughter fishing.
You know.
This is a great song by the way, too.
But I like Trace Atkins but I'm in an headline.
I don't need Trace Atkins doing hip hop.
What does it come up to say?
Yeah.
What?
What is the honky talk?
The donkey.
The donkey talk.
Don't need that.
Don't need that.
Trace Atkins sings this.
There's a girl in Texas.
We did a lot of different songs.
We didn't get a great crossroads.
We're 38 special.
Two minor lots.
You're man.
I was like, who are you working at?
There's a bear toy girl.
The corn roll there for a minute.
I've got the least silver box.
Uncle Cody's telling us country music stories.
Yeah.
But you got in.
Talks about Miller Lite.
Also, saw the Lincoln Lawyer.
You know, my wife actually rented that this weekend.
And she was like, hey, do you want to watch this?
I was like, no.
And Trace Atkins saw the Lincoln Lawyer.
That's right.
He's in this.
He's been in it for two scenes.
And he's a big, burly biker.
Trace Atkins was a big brother.
Yeah.
I mean, that's the bit.
Did he have to study for that?
Was he immersed in the bouncer thing?
Speaking of things, Matthew McConaughey.
Watched a little great in this this week.
It's the hawkery visit.
It dazed and confused.
Yeah.
That's before we get to that.
We need a little two minute review here.
Tell me about the Lincoln Lawyer.
Because I've not seen, you know, decent film.
It's a movie that takes about 30 minutes to get going.
Does he ever go, all right?
No.
But he's taking a shirt off.
Just like every other one of them.
No, but he's aged.
No.
And he McConaughey's getting a little, what is he old saying?
A little long in the two.
Long in the two.
I thought that was happening when you had long hair.
Yeah.
But he's getting, he looked, uh, he looked a little, uh, little,
little aged, great film.
Of course.
You got to figure it.
He's what?
He turns 40, too.
Yeah.
He was, his birthday is like a month after Chad.
So, you know, go figure it out.
I'm not saying it's something you just got to run out and see or do.
But it's, it's a great film.
I like it.
If, if you're, if you're rolling through the, the guide,
will you stop to watch it?
Yes.
Okay.
It's great, man.
So.
But there's that.
But yeah, Trace Hadkins picked this up.
I mean, he's, but then you watch Days and Confused.
How that work out for you?
Always.
It's a hold up.
Oh, it's still a hold up.
It's, uh, you know, each generation, you had your, uh,
American graffiti, you had a fast-time regimen high.
And I just, it's still a hold up.
It's still a hold up.
Now, would you pay a $50 seat, Trace Hadkins Live?
No.
Okay.
I'm waiting on that list.
I thought I'd get that in the email.
Yeah.
Limit list was on the list.
And I didn't see that.
Limit list.
That's the one.
That's the one they take the pill.
And he becomes the smart, uh, Bradley Cooper.
Okay.
So we're on another segment.
We're doing a movie segment here.
Both of these segments have been really, really slow this week.
Yeah.
I was going to check about Lincoln Law.
You're checking out, like I said, 30 to 45 minutes.
It's kind of slow.
The bid of him driving around doing attorney business out of a Lincoln's kind of,
but it's based on Lincoln Continental.
And that's a beastie worst thing.
Yeah.
Okay.
But neither of them made a, neither none of them or none of their music made a cameo in the
Lincoln Law.
You're a great flood.
Check it out.
Okay.
Let's get into the meat and potatoes of what this show is.
Boy, we're running way ahead of sketch like this week.
Got some stuff need to talk about later in this deal.
Yes, sir.
We do.
We can do a little bit of wrestling talk.
I was surprised to see this first bullet point that you sent me in the emails.
We had won the run cheat today.
People's kind of crown this guy as a main event.
And I think Ken Anderson to me and not not the Cincinnati quarterback Bangle.
Great.
Should be all the favor.
But to me, he's going backwards.
He's almost got an El Alberto Del Rio funk on him right now.
It's going backwards.
And I'll tell you what.
He's getting lost with Bishoff and Hogan.
And I've said on this show multiple, multiple times.
I like the guy.
I think he can work a stick.
And it looked like you realize he's been with them almost two years.
Yeah.
And to me, it was just like, I was like, OK, there's somebody's going to finally let this guy be who he is.
And then I can't agree with you more.
He is.
OK, I had to look up.
He is.
That is his real name.
Ken Anderson is actually his real name.
He is going so far backwards right now.
And he's you talk about slowly drowning.
He'll realize the error of his ways and who he used to work for eventually.
I don't, but I don't think he left them.
I think it was the other way around.
Yeah, but eventually, I think Vince tries to give everybody a second chance.
Plus, it would be taking somebody from TNA.
You're not going to the lug out from under the chair.
I'm sure the chair is going to fall.
That's how it is.
That's life.
Chose his name, Kennedy, because it's the middle name Vince.
Kennedy.
No figure.
But I just, I don't know.
I mean, TNA.
I was telling you before the show was here watching it.
I didn't watch it till last night, right before raw.
When Bischoff's on the phone talking to the network saying,
do you realize what we do for you?
I'm like, yeah, a 1.9 on a Thursday night.
Smackdown can do a 2.2.
And when Smackdown's kicking your butt in the ratings,
you might want to figure some things out.
That's all I'm saying.
You're saying Randy does not get the belt back?
No, I'm thinking as we move on to Smackdown.
I don't think there's any way Randy does not get the belt back.
Randy has to win at Summerslam.
Then if you do that, kill the whole ankle.
Yeah, I just, but my problem with that is you bury Christian into oblivion.
A guy that has worked his tail off for the better part of three years
trying to get back to that place where, in my opinion,
the main event is where he should be, especially on a weak Smackdown show.
Excuse me?
Smackdown.
I just...
I don't think you can put this back on Randy.
I think you have to carry this until Survivor Series, at least.
Because...
I just, I don't know, man.
I just, I feel like...
Man, Randy's getting back into that monster push thing again.
To me, Smackdown is dormant with him on there.
Now, we did establish what the Smackdown main event was at Summerslam, right?
Yeah, it's Christian or no DQ.
Okay, that's right, no DQ.
Which...
We knew it'd be a gimmick match.
But now we've got back to back gimmick matches now.
To me, that's not a gimmick match, though.
A no DQ is not a gimmick.
To me, a gimmick match, there's physical things involved.
But until somebody over there wants to step up and do anything, this is what you got.
Hey, you've got a new assistant to the General Manager.
And the great Zack Ryder.
Out.
You know what?
Daniel Bryan, the cash and a WrestleMania.
Where are we going now?
Here's my question on this.
Daniel Bryan has said the last two weeks,
he is saying, I am going to cash this thing in at WrestleMania in the main event.
To me, there should be a stipulation with money in the bank
that you have to cash it in before you're carrying it.
I guarantee you.
Because you can't...
He does not have that briefcase in his hand.
October.
November.
As in, cash to dinner, lost it.
He lost it.
I think they...
You think he's going to lose it to somebody?
I think they'll put that up in a match and I think he'll lose it.
Why in the world would you waste a WrestleMania main event spot on Daniel Bryan?
Great, kind of good ring skills, horrible on the microphone.
Well, here's the problem.
To be the problem with that is,
hey, you don't want to be the first guy to lose when you cash in the deal.
And he will, if they do it that way, because you can't build a four month program
with two guys going into the main event at WrestleMania.
And then decide you're going to put the belt on the third guy.
That's not even in the match.
It's WrestleMania.
That's where Del Rio's at right now.
And I'll say this right now too, as we move on from that,
I'll save that.
Shame is turning face.
I'll tell you what, here's my thing with that.
I am now convinced that Shame is brilliant and I'll tell you why.
Go back and watch that clip from SmackDown.
All he did was change his facial expression and change the way he walks.
And you knew it right off the bat.
This guy telegraphed it and I thought it was genius.
The way you knew how he can just change just a couple little things.
And now he's faced.
I thought that was braze.
He's been working that way at House Show.
Yeah, he's working that way at House Show.
I like Shameis.
Triple H found this guy.
So Trip obviously saw something in him.
And of course he has been to the air always has for a lot of years.
But I like Shameis.
I just, like I've always said, the accent at times in this business can hold you back.
I've said on a show Drew McIntyre.
Shameis.
Alberto Del Rio.
Wade Barrett.
I've said that.
It held back Davey Boy Smith.
Oh, huge.
But Davey Boy also had other things going on.
So it's tough to come across as a serious heel or serious face and carry the,
and be the face of a company in the United States of America with an accent.
Maybe, I mean, Shameis held that belt three months.
So the guy's got title experience.
SmackDown has a lack of faces right now.
Huge.
And why are we pushing Mark Henry?
Is this a way to salute sexual chocolate?
Is this his last run with the company?
I have a hard time with that.
I think it's stupid.
Well, he can't work a stick.
Yes.
But you also have Kane and Big Show both on the shelf too.
They may be used to spend him quote unquote.
Not to say we told you so, but CM Punk now signs a five year contract.
Not just now.
We are now finding out that he signed this contract the day of money in the bank.
So with about a month to go and what we thought was the contract,
it worked.
It worked.
Vents, creative, punk.
You, you had the IWC and everything going crazy.
He is also now claiming that the promo heard around the world was a shoot.
And what we mean by that is that was not a scripted promo that he cut two weeks ago.
Two weeks before money in the bank.
Basically what he is saying is that creative told him go out there and go.
I knew they were going to cut me off at a certain point,
but there was no hard feelings backstage because they knew what they did.
And they let me do it.
Well, here's my question.
In my opinion.
I think with Punk having the contract is out in the open.
Not a quick question for the chat room.
A squirrel on water skis being pulled by a remote control boat.
Stop down or not.
In.
In.
Inner out.
Always fun.
Inner out.
Animals performing sports.
Always funny.
But the thing about.
It could be.
It could be.
Go ahead, say.
I agree.
The Michael Hayes thing.
I don't know about the boss man, but the chat room question.
The Michael Hayes thing with the N word being thrown out in a comical way.
But that was so long ago.
Why are you just now?
Maybe Vents feeling like, you know what?
This guy's last run with the company.
We'll push him a little bit.
I agree with that.
That's a wrong way.
But to me, I think Punk has to stay relevant into me.
John Cena in the title picture makes this thing a CM Punk get more irrelevant.
Yeah, that's what that means to me.
CM Punk, I mean, to me, Randy or I'm getting all jacked up now.
To me, with Cena involved in it, you always Cena does not need that belt.
You have to put it on Punk and let Punk run with it a little bit.
But it is a major.
Yeah.
I've got, I'm going to save all my predictions for the summer slam pre show.
I'm not going to throw anything out.
But I've kind of, I think you have to keep the belt on CM Punk and let him run with it a little bit.
They have changed the shirt.
They've taken the Chicago and the date off of it.
So if you buy it now, you can get it right.
Still going to stick.
Great on the stick.
A few uncomfortable moments last night.
I think Triple H and his role has kind of added something to the show.
I still, I still want to see him in the ring.
I know I heard a rut of dirt sheet that Punk wants to put the tile in the line against Trip at WrestleMania.
Next year.
Not a big advantage.
I don't know where we go from there because Trip does not need the belt.
So.
Another thing, I guess we're going to try to put the US title on Riley.
We did see the beginning of a program with Riley and Dolph Seaguller last night.
And, and on this.
And, and it's Kofi Kingston.
Yeah. Can I see, yeah.
Can I see anybody else fight for the US title not named Kofi Kingston?
Even Shamest, you know.
I mean, it's all fun him for a little while.
Shamest, and then Brian.
Everybody Kingston's kind of round that belt.
Kind of like Scott Hall was always around the ICG crowd.
Because that's what they are.
But they were.
Yeah.
Anonymous GM, your opinion, I've got mine.
Here's my thing.
We have not heard the bootling, bootling, and almost a month.
I was doubting until the very end of the show last night that the podium was even there.
We did see the podium it was there at the end.
Why?
Can we just go ahead and put a bullet in this thing now?
I think trip taking over, you kind of have him in that role pretty much.
I think the smoke that Mick Foley's kind of throwing out there that he may be back with the company here before too much longer.
He's to go shit.
I think that's great.
But haven't we done this before?
I think Foley.
I think Foley.
I just, to me, Mick Foley's not serious in those roles.
I'll just throw it out there.
To me, Mick Foley's not serious in any role.
He's not serious in that type of situation.
He's not serious in that role.
I just, whatever.
Vince, you do what you want to.
But I think Foley has a chance of being this role GM.
And you know what?
Do it.
I'm all about Mick Foley being in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Not a little bit, but more for his work in ECW's Cactus Jack and WCW.
Not for what he did in WWE in my opinion.
He held the belt.
He held the belt.
He didn't hold the belt.
More than once.
He put the belt lost something when he had it.
Not to me.
So.
And this last one.
We'll see him punt loose steam.
But before we get to, yeah, we know you've got that.
You've put this in a deal.
I noticed it.
Jack actually noticed this last time on Twitter.
Jericho basically said, heard my name was mentioned on Raw.
Stay the F out of my business.
Yeah.
Leave me alone.
And I don't know what that's about, all of a sudden.
I think we're building something.
Yeah, you know, we've heard the rumors since dancing with the stars into that.
Chris Jericho was going to make a return and I haven't seen it.
Last week knew it was the deal.
He said on Twitter, the deal was 90% done right after dancing with the stars went off.
Hello.
So.
Hello, buddy.
How you doing?
Brandon's here.
Brandon.
So Brandon, shout out.
Got Matt in the chat room.
Got Chad in the chat room.
Got John in the chat room.
If you're not in the chat room, get in the chat room.
Your dad was here earlier.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So.
Do an outro call, kick it.
Don't, don't.
Mention your name.
Get in the chat room.
Mention your name at least once.
At least once.
Yeah, we're building towards something.
I think a CM Punk Jericho program would be amazing.
Right.
But punk has to have the belt for it to mean something in my opinion.
And I will also say this.
Let CM Punk be alone for a while.
Do not put him with any by date.
Yeah, let him just defend the belt and do his bit.
I'm on board with that.
That's it.
That's all we got for wrestling segment.
Like I said, we've tweaked that part of the show.
We're combining everything into one segment.
As we are one minute past hour number two.
Past hour number one.
We're in hour number two.
Past.
One minute past hour number two here.
No, we're past hour number one.
We're in hour number two.
801.
One minute past hour number two.
That's up.
It's getting the octagon.
We are your one-stop shop for all things.
Sports, pop culture, and professional wrestling right here on the clubhouse with Rob and Cody.
Let us talk a little bit of MMA, shall we?
Yeah, let us talk a little bit of MMA.
Yeah, let us talk a little bit of MMA.
Yeah, let us talk a little bit of MMA.
Yeah, let us talk a little bit of MMA.
Sure, my POI is going to get a little beat.
Yeah, a little bit.
Maybe.
Strike Force had their latest, not really a pay-per-view,
but more of their latest event on Saturday from Chicago, Illinois.
Shoutout.
Hey, my count down.
That's what I've heard.
My count down.
We started out with Tarex, I can't see his guy's last name.
3-D-A, going to distance with Scott Smith in the Walter Wake Division.
We also had Paul Daly in another Walter Wake fight.
Paul Daly.
He wants a UFC guy, if I'm not mistaken.
He wants to tie Ron Woodley.
I want to thank Tyron Woodley for getting Coconut Creek Florida a win.
Thank you, sir.
I'm sick of watching MMA events and guys from Coconut Creek Florida losing.
Okay.
Coconut Creek.
Oh, Creek.
C-O-C-O-N-U-T-C-R-E-E-K.
Then that fight also went to distance.
Tin Kennedy went to distance with Robbie Lawler in a victory.
And then you also had a women's title chain.
Apparently in the Strike Force, the women have their own divisions too.
That's a win.
It's not just the women's division.
This should be, as Misha Tate beats Marlowis Cunning.
Cunning.
Cunning.
Cunning for the women's banterweight 135 title.
Okay.
Big win there.
Big win.
Also in your main event, brother, let me tell you something.
A lot of people going into this fight after Fedor and Malink, I can't even say his last name.
He's known as the Emperor.
He's from Russia.
A lot of people thought he's been losing quite a bit lately.
He lost in the first round of the Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament.
A lot of people were wondering if he loses to Dan Henderson this past Saturday night.
So he doesn't have to come but gone.
The period.
People are saying, this is a guy that's, you know, 34 years old.
34 years old.
But in late in the first round, he gets Dan Henderson.
A UFC legend, by the way.
Oh yeah.
He's in the first round and is just pummeling him in one fell move.
Henderson sweeps around in the back, comes up underneath Fedor, uppercut right on the chin.
Out.
Knocks him out.
Like Mikey and I were watching this.
I had to rewind it because I'm like, why did they stop the fight?
I literally had to rewind it and see it.
I'm going to holy cow.
A great knockout.
I mean, those guys fought for, you know, it was the first round but they came out throwing.
Great fight for no shame on either one of these guys trying to keep up with everything.
It's all I'm saying.
Then we get to this coming Saturday night.
Yeah.
And you know what?
To me, this is kind of a quick turnaround for this guy.
Nine o'clock Eastern, six o'clock Pacific.
That's the new time, guys.
Don't forget about that.
UFC 132 goes on the air.
Tito Ortiz versus Reshard and the shot.
Reshard and the shot.
Reshard and the shot.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's his name too.
And Tito, the Huntington Beach bad boy Ortiz, who just fought what?
Yes.
Five weeks ago, quick turnaround for Tito.
As I'm calling this kind of a retirement tour.
Let's be honest.
Tito Ortiz has been non-existent in this sport for years.
He's almost like, I don't almost say the word legend because you really age somebody
without the word legend.
Yeah, but it's not like Ortiz is a spring chicken.
No, he's not.
Absolutely not.
I mean, Tito Ortiz has been around a long, long, long time.
You know, I'm waiting on the down mode here.
Tito Ortiz, Reshard Evans.
I'm going to make a bold prediction.
Give me.
Give me Reshard in a decision.
Reshard buries him in the second round.
Okay.
Well, I'm saying that just.
I'm going to take a, I'm going to take Reshard in a decision.
Can I make all these things kind of go to decisions now?
What's up?
Well, you've got Reshard 21 and 1 and then Tito 17, 8 and 1.
We do not have, we don't have Tito's reach on here.
It was kind of weird.
Both even at 205, Tito has a 4-inch height advantage.
Also on this card, you have V Tor Belfort.
Very great fighter known as the phenom.
Takes on Yoshihiro and a Kama Kaifada.
Why do I always get all these to say?
Belfort, 19.9 and 0.
His opponent, 13.3 and 0 with two no contests.
Belfort, two inches taller.
And his opponent has a one-inch reach advantage there.
I think Belfort wins that.
He's just a great fighter.
Dennis Holman versus Brian Ebersol.
Superman versus the bad boy.
But Dennis Holman, 65, 13 and 2.
A lot of fights.
Okay.
That's a lot of fights.
Ebersol, 47, 14 and 1 with one no contests.
These are two seasoned veterans.
That's a lot of fights.
That's a lot of fights, man.
Yeah.
You're looking between them.
That's a little better part of 200 fights.
Jeez, Louise.
So then we move on.
Jorge Rivera versus Constantino's Philippu.
I've heard of him.
18.8 and 0 for Rivera, 7 and 2 for Philippu.
Rivera has a two-inch height advantage.
Wait, it's okay.
All these guys, it's the same.
But we haven't even had the official weight yet.
Where are we taking place for this, Dennis?
132.
Oh, that's an excellent question.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the Wells Fargo Center.
If it ain't a Spectrum, it ain't fightin'.
And your last fight on the main card,
Rory McDonald versus Mike Pyle.
The Water Boy versus Quick Chef.
Rory McDonald.
If he's not Irish, I don't know what it is.
He's 11 and 1.
Mike Pyle, 21 and 7.
Soak your gloves in Jamison.
Then you've got like six more cards on the prelims.
Most of those will be on Facebook.
You'll be able to see a couple of the prelims on Spike.
Huh.
Yeah.
If I can get out of church in a decent enough time,
I will do my best to be at Fox and Hound Saturday night to watch this.
It's $5 cover for UFC $3 for WWE.
Do be aware of that.
Yes.
I'm looking forward to this card.
I think this will do a great buy rate.
I think you're going to see a lot of pack sports bars.
Yes.
I think so too.
I think it's been a lot of fun.
It's been a miracle.
It's been a miracle.
Just tell you, Rory McDonald, you want to beat him to soap?
Hey, soap, the tape and Jamison.
Let's go.
Irish whiskey.
Please, please, please help us grow the show.
Throw us out of reach with if you will and we're doing shows.
Help us grow the show.
This is a grassroots thing.
Love, love, love doing this for you people.
Intertaining, if you will, I guess you would say.
But hey, this thing's better than it has to be.
We could be set up here arguing about should Pete Rose be in the hall of fame all night?
I don't think that'd be much an argument.
Can I make an announcement?
You can't.
You can't show something.
You don't know about this.
Okay.
As you know, if you go to our website, www.theclubhouse with Robin Cody,
you can get to our merchandise store,
a brand new item has been added to the merchandise store 24 hours ago.
It's a fiction shirt, right?
No, no, no.
With our logo on it.
No, pint glasses.
Uh-oh.
We have glassware.
Pint glasses.
Pint glasses with our logo says if you listen, you know that it's the official slogan of our show.
Get in there.
Buy some gear.
Love, love for y'all guys.
Just fit it the website.
Go check it out.
A lot of works going into that.
We appreciate it by that's been part of that.
It's going to do nothing but grow, but it can't grow without your help.
Yes.
So it's there.
Follow us on Twitter.
I am Cody.
PSHawk.
I am yes.
That Rob Irvin.
ERVIN.
And also make sure you have joined our Facebook page.
It is known as the clubhouse podcast.
Yes.
Got to have the podcast in there.
But hey, you know, you can make a bowling maker.
Get your clubhouse with Robin Cody, pint glass.
Get the clubhouse Robin Cody shot glass.
Drop it in the glass.
Win, win situation.
It's a win, win.
It's a win, win, win.
I'm right there with you.
So.
Okay.
I'm this next segment.
New segment as we go into my tonight's person of interest.
This is a guy.
This is probably going to hurt some people.
So I'm ready for people in the chat room too.
You have just been poking the band.
I'm a fan of this team.
This is my team.
This is my guy.
And it made me think about this.
I always think about the Hall of Fame.
I start thinking about guys that used to play the game that are getting in.
So I could have picked a lot of people for a person of interest.
But I'm going to get on somebody that at one time was a big fan of favorite and then other than Emmett James Smith,
the third Emmett Smith from a Dallas Cowboy,
former Gator, great former Arizona Cardinal running back.
I remember there.
Emmett Smith, my person of interest.
I will go to you first.
You've met the man of opinions of Emmett Smith.
I wouldn't say I've met him, but I've been.
Let's just say that he's been shoulder to shoulder with me.
And I made him, made him very happy with musical selections one night.
Emmett Smith.
Emmett Smith.
First got Hall of Fame, or all time in F.L.E.D. Russia.
You're making my argument for me.
You've got a question, though.
There's not a lot.
Everybody in the room either likes the Cowboys.
Knows a lot about the Cowboys of the age of Rob and I.
Think about the 1990s with an S. Dallas Cowboys.
If you could pick one running back,
you'd like to see run behind all pits of line.
Who is it?
There's only one of two.
Barry Sanders and Emmett Smith.
The thing about Emmett,
I would have loved to have seen how Emmett would have worked out
if he'd been drafted by the Washington Redskins.
Oh, he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings technically, wouldn't he?
Yay!
That draft is two things.
The smartest move ever are the great train robbery.
One or the other.
But Emmett Smith still stats.
Give some stats here.
Of course, NFL draft 1990, round one, pick 17.
Uh-huh.
17th pick.
28th NFL player of all time,
rated by NFL.com.
He is on the Florida High School Athletic Association High School All-Century Team.
He is also the player of the century.
Florida, not a slouch in high school football.
No, that's right.
You know what?
From Pensacola.
I mean, Emmett's 42.
Can we put this in part for just a minute?
Yes.
John just said something.
I was hoping somebody would.
John says if Barry Sanders doesn't retire earlier, Emmett doesn't have the rushing.
That's 100%.
I agree with you.
And I'll tell you why.
Barry didn't want to break the record.
That's why Barry retired.
You know, a lot of...
I don't know.
Because Barry, Barry, you gotta agree with me.
Barry retired five years early.
Well, he's also held hostage by the Detroit line.
Oh, there's that.
He did a deal.
Kind of sort of what the Bengals are doing with Carson Palmer right now.
It's either played for us to retire.
Barry Sanders went through the same thing and it cost him his career.
Cosmic career.
But I also...
I've also met the firm belief he didn't want to be the guy that breaks the record.
But yeah, give Barry the ol' line.
But he loves...
He loved Walter Peyton too much.
Of course, eight time NFL pro baller, four time all pro selection, three time Super Bowl champion, one MVP, 93.
I thought he had more than that Cowboys ring of honor.
College Football Hall of Fame, Florida Gator Hall of Fame.
Yes, sir.
It's a me and...
Ring of honor for the Florida Gators, too.
Yeah, Emmett's one of those guys that I think if you put Emmett Smith on a different...
team, I don't know if you have the results you have.
But if a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his butt every time he jumps.
I'm not...
You put me behind that offensive line.
I'm not getting 18,355 yards.
I just talent plays a role in this.
Emmett's just been one of those guys that I always kind of think about.
And of course, the way Emmett Smith left the Cowboys.
Now, see, I will agree with you on that particular point.
Him going to play for the Arizona Cardinals.
That was a slap in the face.
That was so crushing.
But they all do it.
Montana was a chief.
United States was a charger.
Joe Nameth was a ring.
We'll talk about some of those here.
They all do it.
They all do it.
But I think that...
I always say this.
Emmett is the reason I became a Cowboy fan.
There are pictures of me in the early 90s before I lived in this town
where I am wearing Cowboy gear.
And it is because of Emmett.
Now, I will never turn my back on my beloved dolphins.
They are the team of my youth.
They will be the team of my old age.
But Emmett was a vital part of that team.
If it wasn't, it would have been the twins of Eggman and Irvin.
Yes.
Absolutely.
That's why they are the children.
But I just don't know if you could have got Barry Foster
to run about that offensive line.
He wouldn't rush for a thousand yards.
But talent plays a role.
Ricky Waters.
I don't know if you could get Ricky Waters
might rush for a thousand yards behind that offensive line.
But he didn't.
But he didn't.
He didn't.
He wasn't here.
He wasn't here.
I'm just saying.
Emmett's been an innocent argument.
What made me think of him as if the argument of Barry Sanders
was going to attack Robbie O'Learn,
be in Cowboy's training camp.
You are starting to hear people kind of going
was Emmett Smith that good?
The game in New York with a separated shoulder,
I've hurried on good accord.
That story is a little overblown.
I've heard that.
That story is a little overblown.
Not what really happened.
That day in the middle- clicked
Emmett Smith to me is a guy
that Mark eingroom,
He wears 22 because of Emmett.
Bo, you give Bo Jackson offensive line,
but he that ain't even legal.
You give Bo Jackson an offensive line
and two decent knees.
Yeah, it's not.
If Bo Jackson had Emmett's offensive line,
it's against the law at that point.
At very, very Marcus Allen.
But see Bo Jackson was that offensive line.
I mean, just when I think about 90s football,
as we're winding down, it's my second song,
but no, it's third.
Oh.
And Emmett's a guy, you know, he's a Dallas Cowboy,
definitely first about Hall of Famer.
But when I think about Emmett,
I think about God, I've never heard a Hall of Famer
or a guy with a very pivotal record in the league,
gets so much flack if really was he,
was he the best running back in the league at the time?
I say flat no.
I'm not gonna, I'll agree.
He was not the best in the league.
But who else is on that list that isn't in the Hall of Famer?
Oh, there.
I think a guy, the eye.
Very dangerous.
I think a guy in the Hall of Famer,
you know, who I'd like to have probably seen,
do some stuff that,
Thurman Thomas.
Buffalo.
Great run back.
Buffalo, you know, three straights.
He's just kind of playing Buffalo.
Yeah.
These are guys that I would have loved to.
I wish you could kind of impose people
and kind of put them behind everything.
It's because there's a lot of guys that,
and I think Emmett's great.
I don't agree with how he left the Cowboys.
I think that's my situation with Emmett.
If that doesn't happen, does that change your opinion?
I don't know.
I thought Emmett has to realize when everything went down
with Ackman suddenly retiring after concussions,
Michael Urban breaks his neck
better and stayed him in Philadelphia.
Nobody saw these things coming.
Deon flakes out here in Dallas.
Big time.
Yeah, I just, I don't know what to think about.
Emmett needs to realize
that Jerry Jones isn't just gonna cut Emmett Smith.
You're gonna play out your contract
and Jerry wanted to make money off you breaking the rush.
Let's be honest, the Cowboys were horrible that year.
Yes, they were.
You got beat by Seattle the same day you broke the record.
But Emmett's a guy that, for some reason,
he's one of these guys that you could do a person
of interest on him and get a lot of,
like we're getting a chat room, a lot of different opinions.
But I see one name over and over.
Barry Sanders, Barry Sanders, Barry Sanders.
You won't hear me do.
To me, Barry Sanders is the greatest running back ever.
I won't debate that.
But one thing that separates that,
it keeps him from that is Barry never got a ring.
Yeah, so.
But I'll tell you what, his highlights come up and stop now.
Stop now.
I will watch Barry Sanders run with that.
Him and Bo Jackson.
Bo Jackson in college or the pro.
Now is there one particular highlight of Bo Jackson?
You don't want to watch?
But maybe happen in Seattle, maybe.
Yeah, and he kept running through the tunnel of the kingdom.
He made a railroad track.
Maybe Brian Bosworth be buried in a shallow grave
at the side of the freeway.
I'm just saying.
Yeah.
But Emmett Smith, I don't run along here.
But Emmett Smith, he's worthy of all the praise
and he happened to play for the Cowboys.
To me, I mirror the career of Emmett Smith off Derek Jeter.
Jeter's a great player.
Jeter has a lot of records.
The thing that makes Jeter great
is he's won championships for the Yankees.
But you still got to put a team around him.
One guy doesn't win championship.
So I think that's a fair comparison.
Emmett, you're great.
I just, you're an interesting person to me
because you've taken a lot of flack in your career
by people saying they could run.
You could put anybody who had an offensive line.
And that would happen.
And I've heard that a lot in some of the radio stations,
especially here, local this week.
And I was like, you know what I'm like?
Oh, it's how a family week.
I'm going to pull this open here with Emmett.
But I love Emmett.
I'm a Cowboy fan, not bashing Dallas.
But Emmett, I thought, was one to dive into
as a pinnacle of swings back to you, sir.
Oh, no.
Yeah, I'm going to figure out.
I got to, you brought a pretty good one this week.
I like that one.
Emmett's a good, Emmett for some reason.
Emmett Smith is always a great conversation piece.
And I've got another one in NFL news
that I think's going to be one of those guys
that when he goes in the Hall of Fame right now,
not going to spool it, but everybody knows.
If Moss and Farf both stay retired,
they go in the Hall of Fame together.
So, and you're going to have those comparisons
with Moss with another guy.
We'll get to that later.
Uh-oh.
You did a minute.
No, give me a second.
We need to quit some of the quick shout out
to a friend of ours who we haven't mentioned
at a very, very long time.
Our good friend, Big Don.
Big Don.
Big Don, race talk.
Sunday Sunday Sunday Sunday.
That can't and tracks get together.
We need to get together with him and find out.
We need to make a field trip this month.
Exactly.
Also, we haven't said this in a while either.
Please, we're looking for sponsors.
We want to grow this show, take it places, do things.
You can email me.
I am Cody at the clubhouse with robincoady.com.
And I am Rob.
Oddly enough, Rob at the clubhouse with robincoady.com.
Yes, anytime we'd like anything.
We will sponsor anything that's a, if it ain't illegal.
And I'll be the jury on what's illegal.
So, as we go to everybody's favorite segment,
then we'll give a kick shout out to everybody
down in Austin, Texas tonight, baby.
Oh, here we go.
Everybody in Austin, Texas, the capital, Tito's vodka,
my beautiful wife in New Bronfels right now.
Is she not a con again?
This is what she took bringing on a trip
was her and some girlfriend.
Oh, okay.
It's kids and mom.
I have not gotten to see your lovely wife in many ways.
It's kids and moms weekend down at New Bronfels.
So, can we just put this for a quick guess?
We go and we have a second right?
We do.
I like this.
No.
I've seen the new commercial.
Yeah, I've seen only 12.
Going a little go-gator here to start the segment.
Two a days have started Monday in a lot of places.
It is scorching hot.
Is it bad that now college has a more rigorous practice
schedule than the pro?
It seems that way, because pros are not two days anymore.
And they have, we're off all day.
The NFL practices, every player off all day.
Two a days have started.
I know one thing, Oklahoma, University of Texas,
Texas, A&M, Alabama, Florida.
Miami, Florida state have moved practices early in the morning
and we'll do a second session in their indoor facilities.
They have to because it's nation wide.
It is a hot, brutal, barucho heat wave going on right now.
We hope that your team ain't properly hydrated.
Yeah, summer of 1980s, what this thing is kind of looking like.
If you remember, if you're old enough to remember that, very hot.
South Carolina, great song by the way.
South Carolina has reinstated in battled quarterback Steven Garci.
Now I saw a blur for the fifth time Steve Sparrier's
allowing this Jack to play.
I saw a blur on this on the four-letter network last night.
What were the circumstances around this?
It's discipline.
I think a lot of things was curfew grades.
But I'm going to take some.
As you, if you've listened to the cliffhanger,
South Carolina, one of the teams we had a few days ago or a few weeks ago,
South Carolina, Steven Garci has to play to me for everything to kind of go.
And do we know what the circumstances beyond this?
Yes.
I believe it was disciplined.
I believe he was just kind of doing his own thing.
Those two have a bit of a strange relationship.
Sparrier cannot wait till Steven Garci walks across the graduation stage, brother.
Or just walks out of the practice.
For me, Steven Garci, when you've got a senior leader,
you've got Lamarcus Latamore, you've got a great ride receiver in Antoine Jeffries.
You have to have Steven, just Steven, yeah, almost called him Jeff Garci.
Steven Garci on the field to win.
I just don't know if they have the faith in a true freshman quarterback.
This is Sparrier's win.
A year.
If Sparrier's going to win the South Eastern Conference, it's just guys.
Yeah.
You talk about it down here.
This is the year I don't.
I'm not sold on Bama yet.
I'm not selling on issue yet.
If the South Carolina game cocks are going to win the SEC, to me, in my opinion, it's this season.
So as we move on, speaking of Austin, Texas, I am going to be, I'm going to be in your little
locale here at the 5-1-2 here for a little bit.
Oh, I think you're actually going to be going there.
Bard.
Bard.
Bard.
Longhorn Network in its high school content.
Dun dun dun dun dun.
What would happen?
Now, this thing officially goes in the air.
Is it August 26th?
August is this month.
It's this month.
I believe.
What?
Three weeks from Thursday.
Yeah, I believe.
No, three weeks from Friday.
I don't know.
But you know, the thing is, I don't know how it's going to work.
I don't think it's going to affect anybody.
That was for at worst.
Austin, I think it's an out of market thing because I haven't seen anything or anybody saying
I'm getting it.
You can't get it.
I don't know some people that are Texas fans.
It's been trying to define it.
I believe it's a totally out of market thing.
Big 12 had a meeting.
UT will not be able to show any high school content because it's an NCAA violation.
What are they trying to do is they were trying to aim these high school games at areas where
they are recruiting heavily.
And that's cheating.
I don't care who you are.
Yeah.
But one thing I will say, I just, I don't know how this is going to work.
I think eventually it kind of becomes a Notre Dame type situation.
I just don't know how much college golf, college swimming, occasional college basketball
game.
You make like UT versus RICES on a long-form network out of conference games where Texas
will roll in and slaughter somebody.
You college softball, college baseball is not popular till the college role series even
gets going.
I just don't know how much content is going to be there.
And I don't care whether this is UT, Florida, Florida State, OU, Bama, USC.
I just take it all one school network.
See, I get the conference network, our network, eventually you run out of stuff to show.
I get the all conference network.
I don't get the one school network unless you're on campus and watching your dorm.
Yeah.
There's 300 million reason to write.
And what ESPN can back out of that thing any time they want to.
My overrunner, two years, I just don't know what the concept is, eventually what's
going to happen here is Texas goes independent.
Texas signs a contract with OU and Texas A&M.
They do their thing in Dallas.
They do their thing in college station in Austin.
And then Texas just schedules a 10 or 11 of their games.
And I'm fine with that.
I'm fine with that.
I mean, I just, it's hard to win a national championship.
I didn't say being independent, it's hurt you.
But Notre Dame's got away with for years.
I believe in John, John, correct me.
I believe my Amy was independent at a time when Jimmy was there because they joined, they
didn't join the big East till after Jimmy left if I'm not mistaken, so quick answer on
that.
Yes, thank you.
I thought I was right that my Amy was independent for a time and it worked for them.
They won several national titles as an independent, but I think eventually with Texas that's where
this goes.
They've got the contract, they've got the coverage, but we talk about them being a different
era too.
I think in this current state, you can't, it's harder as an independent.
It is.
And in your feasibly, you hear about the conference, the rag wheel, I'm going to say something
to you.
I just think with OU, Texas A&M and Texas, they're such a historic thing there.
They're such a, they're so linked together historically.
I believe it's ever going to be hard for the other one to get out of the way because
I said to you on the phone, if Texas goes independent and Oklahoma joins the SEC, which has been
rumored to happen on board as OU and A&M go on the SEC, which I think is great.
I just think it's going to be hard pressed for OU to have to play the season or the schedule
or the tradition that is the SEC and then still have to go to play Dallas to play Texas
who recruit very well, got a great fan following.
Every, don't Texas is not a slouch.
I just, I want to see with the, with the future of that game as it has to stay status, status
quo through 2013 right now because the contract's there in the course of the conference.
Right.
But I'm telling you, I think Texas goes independent in two years.
I'm throwing it out there.
Don't be shocked when you'll say, you know, you're the big 12s dissolved, OU goes here
and goes here, Kansas joins the big East because they're a basketball school.
And then here we go.
And then Texas can schedule Notre Dame, they can schedule Miami.
They can schedule whoever the hell they want to.
That thing you play a home in a road against.
And just, I think you roll your dice in the year and pray to God there's not two undefeated
teams and they both didn't win a conference and used to you'd roll the dice.
Notre Dame has to go undefeated to play for the national title and strengthen schedule.
Absolutely.
You at them, they, USC, Michigan is hit or miss.
Michigan State Purdue, they almost play a big 10 schedule, which I've said for years.
Join the big 10, Notre Dame, just put the provision on the contract that you get to keep
your NBC contract and be done with it.
But that being said, are we ready to turn it?
It's ready, baby.
As we get in the old, old car here in the rail falls down, it must be this high to ride
this ride.
As we go to the college football cliffhanger, go ahead and explain to our new listeners.
If you do, I pick two teams every week.
One team I think is going up, one team I think is going down.
These two teams tonight are no strangers to each other at all.
If you go back to the Southwest Conference days, these two bitter rivals.
Once played for a national title, as Richard Nixon flipped the coin at halftime,
the team I think is going up is nobody faint.
University of Texas, I believe my friends, you were on the upswing this year.
Now, is there an asterisk next to that upswing though?
No, I don't.
With the amount of talent at the University of Texas gets coming through that dim door.
I think there's going every single year.
I don't believe Texas can follow up five wins with three wins.
It's just the math is not there.
The math is not there for UT to struggle.
It's not there.
And I don't need them to.
But I just, I think that this is another year of chaos for them.
I just do.
UT number 24 ranked team in the country coming in in almost about every poll you see.
I've also seen them in scout.com, not in the top 25 at all.
I want to know, like I've said, preseason polls.
If you take the top 25 teams in the country and Texas in it, Texas would be 25, 24, 23,
22 and 21 almost every year.
The bakes here to hit seven on defense, seven on offense.
That's much returning.
So you're kind of split.
Okay, that's seven on defense, seven on offense.
But here's the deal.
Receiver John Childs finally gets out of Texas.
He was like a 13 year senior James, James Kirkendall of Garland, Texas.
He has now decided to leave the team for track.
Tight in Greg Smith.
Here we go.
Offensive tackle Kyle Hicks.
Offensive guard Mike Cuey.
It offensive tackle Bret Mitchell.
That means three freshmen start on your offensive line next year.
So not the center though.
I believe this year will be two things.
The development of Garrett Gilbert is so important this year.
Oh, it's vital.
They Texas has to realize, you know what, sometimes you just, you know, no Texas nine times
out of ten and recruiting.
They don't make a bad recruit.
If this Garrett Gilbert guy doesn't work out, I think if you're Texas, you have to go,
you know what, bad evaluation you're, you're now back up and just bite the bullet and
move on.
Case McCoy.
Famous last name, Colt McCoy's little brother, enters his sophomore year and I watch Texas
at spring game.
I was very impressed with Case McCoy.
Really?
I'm not saying national title right now, win the conference right now, win ten games right
now.
But I believe the kids got some upswing running back situation.
Of course, Fuzzy Whitaker, a senior.
He's back up by probably the number one running back in the country, recruited in from
Sobelo Steele and Cody Juhub.
I'm going to tell you back, Malcolm Brown and trained Newton, of course, he transferred
because concussions.
He's now at North Texas doing general studies and he got Cody Johnson, another senior.
The thing with Texas, this is not a young football team.
There's a lot of seniors on this team that feel like they're junior year, they're under
achieved.
As we go the defense, of course, just, you got Jackson Jeff Coat.
We all know Famous last name, number one recruit in the country from a year ago.
Alex Okafore, the guys were there, Emmanuel Achoz, a senior, Kenan Robinson.
The main thing with Texas is going to be secondary and the running back in the offensive line.
I'm going to run the schedule here real quick.
Rice?
Let's look at this schedule really and as I'm looking at this schedule, I'm going to give
Texas a little bit of credit here.
This is not a lot of a cupcake schedule.
They're not playing the citadel.
All my team is guilty of.
Texas starts out September 3rd live on the Longhorn Network against Rice.
Primetime.
Rice gave Texas a scare last year at Reliance State and being used to it.
Rice was in that game in the fourth quarter.
Yes they were.
I remember well.
BYU, trust me Jack, not a slouch.
Yeah.
I thought I'm saying.
BYU.
This is not a first two weeks playing Sister Mary's College for the Blind.
BYU could get dicey, I think because they're in Austin, I think Texas wins that game.
Here it is at UCLA.
I've seen that ruin their day a couple of years ago.
And that lost stuck with Texas all year.
Yep.
That really did because they were exposed defensively.
And that's my thing with Texas defensively.
We all kind of, and I'm not saying this because he's now your head coach, everybody built
Will Mushchamp down there to have a defense that couldn't be scored on you.
To me Texas at times like you was a paper tiger, teams ran through them all up and down
the field.
And see they have to improve that.
And here's another thing.
Look at this.
Now after the UCLA game, this is this, not the week after is when Texas goes idle.
So now they have to go to at Iowa State.
And then they come directly from Iowa State here in Dallas, Texas.
They don't have that week before to get ready like they've done the last couple of years.
Yeah.
So it could hurt them against Oklahoma.
Yeah, Texas OU, October 8th in Dallas.
Then I think a game that Oklahoma State comes into Austin next week.
So Texas realistically plays back-to-back games, one at neutral side, one at home that are
very tough customers in Oklahoma, OSU, and then they get the second buy at Baylor.
I don't know.
Baylor beat Texas last year in Austin.
All Baylor's at the end of the year, sir.
10-22-11.
Then the one that then Yahoo's kind of, oh, they got them playing at Baylor on December 3rd.
No, at Baylor on 10-22.
So you got Baylor on the road in Waco.
You never know.
Sickle Bears.
Kansas, easy win for Texas, Texas, tech comes to Austin.
That's a game that's also been rumored to appear on the Longhorn Network as well.
That's up there at Missouri, Texas owns Missouri.
Kansas State comes back to Austin, Kansas State beats Texas by 28 last year in Manhattan.
And then Thanksgiving Day at Cal Meal, a team that I don't know if A&M's the best team
in the country are the most overrated team in the country.
Could go either way.
I'm going to throw this out here with UT this year.
The death charts there.
I think a young offensive line at times can, you got a safety, here's a deal, the center
is a senior.
So you got the offensive line has a senior.
You have an anchor in your center that maybe one of these guys like Fawzi Whitaker or one
of these guys can run behind.
With Texas, I think seven wins, I think seven wins, I can do seven wins.
If we're talking eight and four, if we're talking eight wins, we're talking nine, slow
down.
Ten wins out of the question, unless something in the big 12 crazy happens, guys start
losing a lot of starters and then you're just kind of there.
So where do they wind up?
Seven wins probably gets you in a holiday bowl.
And I want to be able to go on that holiday bowl.
It's going to be a big game.
I think, well it's the first one I picked a holiday bowl.
I've had some in the, I've had some in some other bowls, but the first time I've said
the word to holiday bowl, I think a holiday bowl is not bad for Texas, maybe a sun bowl
after no bowl last year.
I said going up, I didn't say national championship going up, but I think going up, I think
Texas seven wins, sun bowl, holiday bowl, they ain't going to the cotton bowl, they made
that cotton bowl.
The second best team in the big 12 goes cotton bowl, they've put some money in that deal
and your second best team in the SEC.
So the cotton bowl, you got to have ten wins to get in the cotton bowl.
That's not going to be the slouch bowl anymore, Jerry.
If you lose that conference championship, Jerry's put too much money to get that game
moved.
He's not going to have Baylor versus Vanderbilt in the cotton bowl.
Sorry.
But Texas going up, then we got to go, if you're going to go up, you've got to have a team
that goes down.
You'll like this.
And then there is this.
Oh, Su-Wee!
You call the hogs down, Arkansas razor backs.
Don't see in the sugar bowl this year.
That's all I'm saying.
Even though you got cheated last year because you played against a bunch of paid Ohio
state players, so you really should have had it last year.
Of course, the big loss on this team is they bring back this.
So they didn't cheat them.
No, I'll state it.
Now, of course, Arkansas, some polls, number 15, number nine, number 12, number 14,
number 20.
Rivals has them at 12.
Yeah, so they bounce around quite a bit in the top 25.
Losing six on offense, seven on defense, two big ones on offense are obvious.
Get in, DJ Williams, and quarterback Ryan Mallet.
Ryan Mallet.
That's the one I was saying.
The legendary Ryan Mallet that I will never, ever debate that I think that Ryan Mallet
left to hear early.
I think Ryan Mallet may have suited himself a little bit higher in the draft if he had
to win, came back to Arkansas.
The strength of Arkansas is in its running backs, running back Neil Davis out of Arca Delphia.
A lot of comparisons to him to a Demarco Murray type very versatile back, like a dips
at Florida.
One of those guys on defense linebacker Jerry Franklin, another guy that Arkansas does
has to, I hate to say do something, but it seems like they had Alabama dead in the
right slash to your in Fayetteville, in Fayette, no, I'm a little back in the game.
That was a, that was a rough game to watch if you're an Arkansas fan.
And Arkansas, you know, not, not a lot of losses on the offensive line or the defensive
line, which at times that can be the core of your team.
But I'm gonna say quarterback Tyler Wilson comes in as a junior, watched Arkansas's spring
game as well.
He did not look that bad.
I don't know if he has the big cannon on him, like a Ryan Mallet.
I'll tell you this, he's more mobile than Ryan Mallet, because Ryan Mallet stood back
there like Herman Munster.
That's not a real high bar to admit, very mobile running back Neil Davis, as I mentioned,
and running Wingo, a junior they're really high on, Greg Childs, a senior wide receiver
that I thought would go on the draft, made the big touchdown before half time against
LSU to make that a 14 point game.
Last year on defense, Jake Barquette, the senior defensive end NFL, Jerry Franklin's got
NFL and safety, Tyrann Thomas, a guy that was recruited by Florida Oklahoma Texas and
Oklahoma State ends up at Arkansas.
No, I'm not gonna say Arkansas is in a cellar of the SEC, I'm just saying don't expect
them in a BCS game.
Oh, let's run the schedule.
You're opening this year, hosting a Missouri State, did not let school even exist.
Then you go to New Mexico, they start the season three and a, although Troy can be destroyed,
Troy can reach up and bite you at week three.
Then you've got Ad Alabama, then at Kyle Field as they go to Texas.
No, that is at Jerry World.
That's okay.
That's our neutral game at the, at the Cowboys State, okay, first of all, first of all.
The week before OU Texas, then they are hosting Auburn, then they're at Ole Miss, at Vandy.
Then you're hosting the Old Ball Coach, who you had on the upswing last week on this
show.
Then you host the Tennessee volunteers, then you host the Bulldogs of Mississippi State and
Battle for the Golden Boot as you go to Baton Rouge to play LSU.
Good news for you, it's a 230 in the afternoon.
That is also a game, you know, Battle for the Golden Boot, big game last year, always
Thanksgiving weekend.
With, I'm going to say, Bama beats them, I think A&M gets them.
I'm putting some faith in A&M, I don't know why, but I am.
I think they beat Auburn.
I just Auburn's a team that I had bowling way down.
I had Auburn on this very show, barely, barely bowl eligible at times.
I think Ole Miss could bite him.
Ole Miss could bite him.
Especially on the road.
I think Arkansas, all things considered, can still get 9 or 10 wins out of this schedule.
Wow.
I mean, it's bold.
LSU, let's be honest here, LSU, Bama in South Carolina, 9 and 3, it's good enough.
I mean, 9 and 3 gets you almost cotton bowl, capital one, I mean, that's a big money
bowl.
I'm going to say 9 and 3 for Arkansas, capital one, Liberty Bowl, somewhere in there,
but independence, independence and tree port, maybe.
But 9 wins, I think with this schedule, unless they shoot themselves in a foot against
a missus, I mean, against a bandie or a Troy, unless they go in and just step on a
game.
Just bust it open.
So I got Texas going up, 7 wins, I'm going to cap it at 7, anything more than that,
you're considerate.
Thank you.
Gravy on top of that, Arkansas, 9 and 3, planet with the fans are wanting to hear.
Once again, after this week, we're getting into the nitty-gritty.
No more cliffhanger this week, I'm going to do team previews.
Okay, so this is the last cliffhanger, so I get to to top five, the top, you don't
do anybody going backwards, you get even planes there.
So we'll do two team previews next week, I will tweak those teams like it every week
on Twitter, 11th, central, noon, eastern, and how do they follow you?
Cody, PS Hawk, and I am, yes, that robber of an ER, V-I-N, you are listening to the clubhouse
of the Robin Cody.
We are live, every Tuesday night at 8 on the East Coast, 5 on the West Coast on U stream.
Visit our website, www.theclubhousewithrobincoady.com, as we get into a little major league baseball
talk.
Well, the trade deadline came in with, boy, did it, out of court, the big winner probably
was the San Francisco Giants, as they net Carlos Beltran from the Metz, but I think if
you've seen that trade, if you've looked at that trade, not really, a win-win, you know,
the Metz got some young pitching, the Giants got a left-fielder and got out of the bat.
I think that's a move up for the Metz, they'll screw it up somehow, but another big winner
and I'm just going to say this, I think the Houston Astros trading, who they trade to
Phil Delphi, I spent Pants, 100 Pants, should have been a brave, thought for sure he was
going to be a brave, I thought he was going to be that missing bat.
You said we need it.
Phil Delphi, 100 Pants was a guy that Atlanta, but Atlanta just didn't want to give away
the farm, I don't blame them.
Phil Delphi gave some guys, they gave some guys a lot of people had a very high opinion
on in their farm system.
One team that didn't make a move in spring training, the pirates, I'm beloved Bucks,
we are family, we are family, we are family, just the Bucks now, one in nine, since the
botched plane Atlanta to plate the other night, they are getting strung by the Cubs right
now, 11 to 2 in the bottom top of the 8th at PNC Park, so the pirates kind of come
that down to earth and that central, but Cincinnati is starting to put something together, St.
Louis slipping quite a bit, I still think that is, I'm going to get that in a minute.
But that inel central, I think, I make a bold prediction here, that thing is going to
come down to the last week of the season, so it's going to come down the wire, yes,
I think that's going to come down the wire, wow, it was last time you could say that,
I don't know, unless all of a sudden St. Louis realizes we're the St. Louis Cardinals,
we're the class of this division, and they flip the switch and then it's everybody
seeing tail lights, red tail lights at that point.
The team that I was most impressed with, and I'm going to throw this out here, and you
can agree or disagree, the team that I was most impressed with with all of these moves
that were made, I believe was right here in this town, I think the Texas Rangers, I was
very impressed, for the first time in a long time I could say I was impressed with something
that the Rangers did at the trade deadline, at the trade, they assigned Arthur Rhodes for
assignment to Desa's spot for, in my opinion, the greatest set up man in the league in Mike
Adams, as he was at a 25 man roster, was it he wants to DM overall, no, that's Mike
Adam Lee, oh okay, Rhodes 41, 3 and 3 with a 4.81 ER, so Texas added some guys, Koji
Hura, they trade Tommy Hunter, which I thought Tommy Hunter was, he will eventually be a decent
starter in this league, Matt wants to know if this is bigger than the Cliff Lee move.
The thing is, I'll tell you this, the thing about Cliff Lee was, Cliff Lee had already played
in both leagues, right in the bottom, he'd already played in the AL, he'd already played
in the NL, we knew what Cliff Lee was when he got to Texas, I think Mike Adams, I've always
said the bats were better in the AL, the pitching is better in the NL, I think that's been
the history of those leagues, at least the past five years, the AL to me has the bigger
bats, A-Rod, Josh Hamilton, name, I'm a pick a team, each team kind of has a big bat,
in the AL, in the NL, you kind of got a pitch to win, Atlanta's done a great with just
a pitching staff, not a lot of big hitters, the pirates, the pirates had the best pitching
E-R-A in the NL at one point, so it's not the big bat, Mike Adams may struggle at points
because the San Diego Padres, let's be honest, it's the San Diego Padres, so I don't want
to compare it to Cliff Lee because Cliff Lee was a move that you knew was going to get
you at least to the playoffs, Bullpen's important to me, the ranger still have starting
pitching issues, would you agree?
Yeah, oh yeah, Bullpen's no good if your starter gives up eight runs at the third, that's
a whole lot of support, so I think it's a great move, but hey, it also something to say
if you can hand the guy a ball up two to nothing in the seventh and win the game two to
nothing, hey, you're good, but you've got to get to that point, you've got to get to that
point, I just think Texas wins, I think the West is a thing that Texas is not playing
great right now, the Toronto, they really Holland, yeah, Holland's had three shutouts in
July, he's come around, I was kind of shocked that I think the guy in this, Neftalee Felice
is a guy that no one around thinks has lost a little too much velocity, I don't know, that's
true or not, I really thought they'd make a better, they were going to make a move for
the San Diego's closer, Heath Bell, okay, I really thought they were going to make a move
for him, I know San Diego wanted Holland, that was rumor, Texas said in that way, I don't
know if it's middle relief, Arthur Rhodes not pitchings like winning, and get rid of
Delan, they're in Oliver and you've got a great, I think you've got a great thing going,
Texas's weakness was the bullpen and they addressed those issues, it's going to come a day,
and I never thought I'd say this, but I'm going to look up one day and the Texas Rangers
is going to be the best ran franchise in this town, wow, I mean did you ever think you
would say the Texas Rangers would be the smartest ran organization in Dallas Fort Worth,
I can't die, no, I can't die, but they are, they've made some great moves, the past
two years at the trade deadline, I'm just not, okay, when they make it to the World Series,
I'll go, that was bigger than Clifley, Jerry's out, I still think the Rangers have a starting
pitching issue, Holland, we'll get it in six weeks and we'll know for sure, Holland's
been a light spot, CJ got rot Sunday, CJ Wilson, I don't think the Rangers bring him back
next year, I think he's going to be a guy that's going to want probably a little too much,
I think no one of the Rangers make a healthy offer, I think they make a fair offer, I think
CJ's going to try to test the waters, you'll have a Dodgers, you'll have a Pirates, or you'll
have a Cubs, or you'll have a Houston, or you'll have an Anaheim, or you'll have a Baltimore
and they'll back up a Brinkstruck to his front yard, because he was an ace, exactly, but
we'll see, very proud of the Rangers, very proud, I thought I was very impressed, the
first time I answered, the first time I could see that in a long time, the Rangers, very
impressed, I thought I was very impressed with the moves that they made, because they
addressed an issue, they had issued a bullpen, no one ran, and John Daniels addressed that
issue, and that's something, if you're a fan of this team, or lived in this town for
any moment of time in baseball season, something that never used to happen.
What brings us to the next question, what does that do for the standings?
Currently, we always start in the AL East as the Yankees, now your beloved Yankees,
now tied with the Red Sox, here we go again, they're tied again, Tampa now 11 out,
it's now a two horse race in the AL East, at this point, we knew it was going to come this,
Tampa failed, Toronto can't seem to put together, as the Orioles fall 23 games out of first,
and what's the blue luck show Walters saying in the swing training?
Hey, I know one thing he said, we're going to beat the Yankees every time we play him,
how's that work out?
I don't know, 65 and 42, and 42, and 63, you tell me.
The central still dog fight is Detroit, who's leading the Rangers as we speak right now in
De Chois, they are two games up on Cleveland, but Chicago just four and a half back,
but Chicago in the Bronx.
Texas two up on Anaheim, I can't, it's getting warm, I can't figure Anaheim out.
I don't know, I don't know, remember a time when Anaheim, you knew at this point,
they were like 9,000 games up, it didn't matter.
I can't figure Anaheim out, I don't know what they're, I don't know what they're
wanting to do up there, everybody said, well Anaheim gets better by just beginning,
just by getting healthy, I haven't seen that, they did nothing at the trade deadline to get better,
they just kind of seemed content with being dormant.
Anaheim did nothing, well because there was a time that in this division you could do that,
this division has gotten incredibly competitive, especially with the Rangers,
you can't be dormant in August anymore.
And the Rangers are willing and dealing to make moves.
Yep, they want to be competitive and there's nothing wrong with that.
We go to the NL, of course, the East Philadelphia opens up a 7-game lead over Atlanta.
Atlanta better get on the stick, I'm just going to tell you that, that's a brave fan,
I know you got some brave fans in the room here.
I think Atlanta better curb it around and figure out what's going on.
Milwaukee now opens up to a three-and-a-half game over Saint Louis.
Seven games strike as the Milwaukee Brewers opened up a three-and-a-half over Saint Louis.
Five-and-a-half over Pittsburgh and seven-and-a-half
over Cincinnati, then you have to have N
Yeah, I tell you what the most interesting division is that the the inner west or the defending world champions play
They lead Arizona about one game
I really but there was a lot of people in spring training were saying keep your eye on the Arizona diamond backs
I heard that from more than one source
Arizona just won't go away. I really thought the the Giants would win this division by at least double digits
I thought that was fair
I thought that was fair
defending champs defending champs you think by the way
Who is this here?
Detroit getting a little help to not bro. It's almost like
But San Francisco's a team that it to me and ask everybody in the chat room here big deal if the Giants don't make the post season
Rob I don't know because
And this is gonna sound really sad, but if you hadn't reminded me to the Giants won the World Series
I wouldn't have remembered yeah, because it wasn't that flashy one you always see
It was a dog fight don't get me dog fight, but I just I don't I just don't think about the Giants as
I think a Giants that's having the guy with the big beard who showed up in the body
So yes, yes, that's all I got I
And we'll check the wild card here as a Yankees lead the angels by eight games right now due to some some
Percentage points when Boston and them and then over Atlanta now opens up a three game lead over Arizona for the wild card
Which a lot of people thought Atlanta would be the wild card because they didn't see them upsetting Philadelphia to a nest
St. Louis 5 out Pittsburgh 6 back with the wild card
So still still a lot of ball being left to play in the wild card
And my brain took a 9-3 at butt kicking. I think whoa rather than that knows
Phillies are stacked and that's something I'm gonna get to in the NFL segment here in a minute stack teams, but
To them going to be in that town, but
Giants not making the postseason would be very weird and I think be
Almost a choke
Wow, I don't I don't want to say that because the it let's be honest the Dodgers are terrible
The Dodgers are the worst team has San Diego's not in the better and you really at that point the Rockies aren't very good
And you got all you got to beat out is
The Arizona down next that's your competition this year and you're one game up
I'm saying Brian Wilson all I know is on showtime Brian Wilson guaranteed a repeat. I heard him say it
You're really guaranteed a repeat buddy. You better get on the bike and ride jack you're just up. You're 15 minutes
It's one blown one blown save in the playoffs to run your career sir. IE Mitch Williams Joe Carter 93 World Series

Was this not a free agent feeding frenzy we said it would be we said it was gonna be fast and furious and we weren't lying to you
Our friends we love you too much to lie to you
That was the strangest thing. I think I at times I'd ever seen did you just sit there?
You're watching the four-letter network and you're just going really don't really yeah really really really really
Some of them I'll tell you I'll I just of course the big one a small one today is Ronnie Brown's now you're running back
For the field of Eagles as everybody plays the Eagles now. Yeah, I think I
We we common a little bit last week on the Dallas Cowboys as they were cleaning house releasing Roy Williams Marion Barber
Both of those guys including wide receiver Sam heard all land in Chicago where Mike Martts has guaranteed
Roy Williams 80 catches next year. Good luck with that. Mrs. Doubtfire. I
Just don't you still have
Kyle Orton. Yes, and then quarterback and then Chicago
Letting go of Olsen. I heard something today as I was bouncing around the ESPN affiliates and
Chicago calling for the third guy
To be the starter as
The start call or not call or mr. Who's the quarterback Chicago? It's blank. It's only an age went through my mind right now
Grossman. No, that's the old guy. I totally went
I thought I thought anyway. No bears have cutler. I'm sorry. That's right. J. Cutler already in the in color
Kyle or even had even started in his jobs or in jeopardy and if his jobs in jeopardy that also means lovey Smith
This team lost the NFC title game last year. They're acting like this was a two and ten
Fans of course another big one Nandi awesome. Why a guy we talked about this team floored with the Jets
Floored with the Niners floored with the Cowboys and Philadelphia if you didn't come through the back door
Nandi also want you got a shante Samuel. They trade Kevin Cobb and I think a bust waiting to happen in Arizona
Stephenville, Texas is on
Fills beloved fill in Philadelphia Eagles
They've made moves. They've made a lot of moves. They're acting like they were I just I think you're gonna start seeing some cuts in Philadelphia though
I think a shante Samuels win a saunter. They're gonna try to trade him
I think they have to release him. I don't know if anybody's gonna trade
He is a guy that he is a guy today that said he's unhappy with the cornerback situation
Well, you know what just cuz you ain't the only one deal with Dallas releases him Jerry Jones better be the first person on the phone
Philly would say some yeah
Another one of course Vince Young you're back up in Philly. I think he could divide that locker room
You can just glad that my beloved dolphins didn't sign a guy. I hate Philadelphia
I'm a cowboy fan only one team in the NFL. I dislike years as New England and Buffalo and Buffalo
Mine is Philly. Washington has been irrelevant for years to me is to fill the Eagles
Giants
I guess you know it was it was Washington for so long didn't it was Philly the Giants
If there's always been bloody games, but the Giants have always been the Giants, but yeah
Philadelphia to me
You have to Sean Jackson that I think debatable in the room
To Sean Jackson's a top 10 wide receiver in this league
Do you agree? Yeah, he's he's going to make $500,000 this year. That's a great living
I got that on me. You just gave Vince Vince Young $4 million to sit your bench and do nothing and who has done
What in this league? Yeah, I get in trouble in a strip club. Exactly. Okay. I think between the Sean Jackson wanting money in a new contract and Vince Young making 4 million
I think you have enough dissension in that eagle locker room to cause problems. That's my opinion
Of course Plexico Boris signs a one-year deal with the Jets
Chad Oak Joe Sinko and Albert Haynesworth down members of the New England
That is a dynamic that I'm going to be very interested to see they're both saying oh no, we're gonna now isn't didn't Haynesworth get injured today or something
And all of a sudden it's you know, Ocho Sinko up there going well, you know, we're gonna buy it in the system
I give it to week four and he's running his I think you have a situation with him where
Bill Bella check thinks he can he can change anybody and I think Albert Haynesworth
He it's not that Albert Haynesworth's not a good. He's lazy. He's just a lazy football bag
Yeah, he's just a lazy football player
He got he got a crazy contract in Washington and he laid down on that team for two years
I always remember down. I always remember him is the guy who stepped on a helmet. Yep
Gerard cut the crap out of Gerard's face. They're in Tennessee that year, but
That's a big one my Amy. I thought my Amy signs Reggie Bush
I thought great. We'll have a three back system and then running browns gone
And so now you're trying to tell me that you're gonna make
Reggie Bush your every down back. Well, I think they bring them. I think they bring back Ricky Williams
I think yeah, but still Ricky Williams isn't gonna because it's gonna work for
The the running back situation right now in free agency is so saturated
They could pick up a guy in a moment's notice. They need to I really thought they'd make the trade for Kyle Orton
Now we're hearing breaking news here. We've watched it here several times
Denver players want Kyle Orton as a starter in Denver and not Tim T-Bo
I know Tim's close to you. I like Tim
Thought he had a decent year last year. Do we have to get him out of Denver already?
We almost have to I think ever since they lost their coach. It seems like management has no faith in him
Uh, of course John L. Wait John Fox seems to be the guy that has no faith in him
Maybe it's time for T-Bo to request a trade has get out of Denver
But where do you put it? We're I know him going financially Miami or Jacksonville. I'd love to have him in Miami
I think somewhere where you can make a lot of going to be a step backwards, but Miami
I wouldn't be shocked if I think they keeping through the year unless things just get so kankerous there. It's unreal
I think Tim T-Bo has different uniform on next year
You guys do something. No
It's just the there's breaking what you got here NFL news here
Uh
Got another one Broncos agree with former Patriots tie defensive in tie warrant
So isn't it like a hundred and forty every rookie signed
22 million dollar max guaranteed almost every rookie got the same contract four years 22 million guaranteed shut up
Get out there cam Newton sign Nick fairly injured today actually injured on Monday and a walking left it lands can left foot injury
Uh
plenty of time. Yeah, plenty of time, especially if you broke didn't get an issue
But plenty of time there
Andre Johnson as we get a little camp reporter that wants to Newton went to Carolina. That's correct
Yeah, Newton went to Carolina. He will start as the dolphins get Matt Moore
Not not a bad
Not a bad. It depends on who the QB coaches. There is Miami. I know Chad Pinnington's gonna do television for a year
Matt Moore's a guy who came through Dallas that I thought
He was better than I thought he was better than Kittna as a backup
Dallas what if I was said he would trust the quarterback name Elvis bless. I think you're going to see Matt Moore and Chad
Haney battled for the starting quarterback spot in Miami
So um, I really thought Calorton would be there because the the Brandon Marshall
Brent Farve rumors last week. They made me do a
Andre Johnson separates his pinky finger today. Oh yeah, not a lot of big uh injury issues
Uh camp everybody is it camp. I wouldn't say injury-free
But Ashante Samuel did report today to Sean Jackson plans on ending the holdout in Philadelphia as early as tomorrow. Okay
Um
This is great. I can't talk about this hold on
Um
Cincinnati is not Carson Palmer is gonna play for the bangles or he's gonna retire
This is what I said earlier. This is that very Sanders type Detroit lines type situation where you're pretty much holding a player hostage
I don't get that. Just let the dude go where he wants to go and make your money
If some reason since I want to make a deal, I think it will be in Seattle where he could play for former head coach
And Seattle Pete Carroll. Keep carol. Yeah, I think you could trade him as they they bring in
Just a trio of players. So various Jackson is your starting quarterback. They gave Simeon rice 40 million dollars
Simeon rice don't leak. Yeah, he plays for the Seattle seal. I'm talking about it. Simeon rice now a bucket near another
I mean not a bucket or a bucket or a bucket or great, but Simeon rice now a Seattle Seahawk as they maxed his rear end out
Braille and Edwards still after floating as the jets they resign Antonio Cormardi early this morning
And they also sign Plexico 3 million, which means Braille and Edwards is a odd man out
They also sign San Antonio homes Cormardi not to be confused with Roger's Cormardi who also went to fill it
Yeah, also with the Philly so Philly loaded for bear
Uh speaking to camp the Ryan's what's your opinion on these Ryan brothers? Sydney Ryan? Sydney Ryan
Similar. Yeah, Sydney rice. The Simeon rice is a whole different person. Yeah, that's all right, but I say you said Simeon rice
I'm going Simeon rice. I'll leave Sydney right now 40 mil in my opinion. That makes a little more in my opinion Sydney rice is a decent two or a three
Is he a 40 million dollar wide receiver? I don't see it
Okay, where we say I'm sorry, so the Ryan's funny uh
Start start with the first Ryan which one I'm gonna start Rex almost. I was Rob. All right down defensive coordinator for Dallas Cowboys Rob Ryan quoted today
As Philadelphia's won the world for the all height team, but I guarantee we beat there when we play them
With no safeties in an aging line. That's right. Don't want to sit between them on airplane
So and then let's go to Jets camp. Let's go across the country almost Jets camp as Rex Ryan addresses the media begging somebody to beat the new England
Patriots besides them and how did that work out for them last year beat him in the playoffs
But didn't regular season that they lose 45 to three. I'm just saying, but he wants Simeon
If they're the only ones beating them then how he's wanting Simeon AFC East to beat them besides the Jets
So I'm just saying
I got a question for cowboy fans across the world Rob myself
This not not being able to sign non-de-awesome watch this point right here influenced my list. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah
Are the Cowboys still the Cowboys now? That's an easy one has some of that luster kind of worn off because they're not winning
I just the I'll tell you something the guy that picked Philadelphia over Dallas to me
That's like to and I'm not no disrespect to anybody filled up could be listing listen archive
To me picking the Eagles over the Cowboys to me would be the equation of picking the
I'm gonna go decent team picking the angels over the Yankees
I just still don't he's on a bad team. No, I don't history Chuck Binderic was 50 years ago. They have no history. Randall cutting him
Jaws Jaws lost the Super Bowl of Raiders
I mean the the Dallas Cowboys have five five championships
Yeah, but they're still not the Cowboys like
What did I say last year that the oh good is mercy good things going off here
What I say last year about the the Patriots not being the Patriots the Cowboys aren't the Cowboys
You don't look across that wine and don't be awesome. Holy poo. Yeah, none the awesome while picking the Eagles over the Cowboys to me
That made me realize that Jerry Jones had finally done enough to ruin
The opinion of the sports world of the Dallas Cowboys and I'll tell you something that will be cutting him better get it done
One playoff win in 15 years hadn't won a title since 95
So and but they you know the great teams the Lakers struggled in the early part of the 90s. They Yankees struggled in the 80s
But they struggled this long. I don't know man. I just
I think Dallas out in the east. I picked them second. It's all about Philly. I already hear the comparisons between Philly
In the Miami heat, but do you really want that comparison? I'm just saying but really starting to hear the Philly Miami Heat debate already
Also, it was funny Vince Young saying quoted when he signed his contract dream team. Your Christian Laker on the drink said that earlier on free show
He's absolutely right. You're Christian Laker come get your teammates against Lavaqon with three minutes. Exactly what?
Yeah, Vince Young's did nothing in the league but cause problems. Yep, and you're talking about dream team
If Vick stays healthy Jack, you don't even see the field. Yep. You're not even on the field
You're like I said Christian Laker on the dream team. I may give you Chris Mullin. I'll give you
Not gonna give me Bobby Hurley. Yeah, but the Cowboys. I don't know what they have to do
Of course now we're taking the stars off helmets and make people earn them now. I'm on board with that
Dallas is a team that it's feast or famine with them this year. Oh be cutting him better get it down the Cowboys to me
They I agree. I think the Cowboys have finally lost a little that luster
I hate to say that but they've lost a little bit of that swagger
That happens in college for easily. Yeah, there's a lot of swagger local homie did for all takes it for all for it for while
But I think Dallas it it hurts me to say the Cowboys Jerry has just not made this a great place to play right now
One thing not on the run sheet
Ce la vie rot Randy Moss retiring retiring or supposedly supposedly he received two offers like
Randy Moss wants a long term a multi-year deal the jet the jets offered a one-year the
Patriots offered a one-year before they made the cha the trade for Cinco
Um, you know what Miami
Dallas keep him away from my town new orlands see apple Seattle. Go see um go to Oakland Houston go to
Bend Oakland failed go back there retire the Giants I could name several teams that I don't think if you gave
Randy Moss two years four million all guaranteed no fluff no incentives. Here's your cash
Go play football brother. I think there's eight or nine teams that work into that scenario San Francisco Dallas Miami new orlands
Houston Jacksonville
Cincinnati
the Giants
But I mean I just it I just can't believe that not another team
Walked up and said we'll give you two years for me no problems
Randy Moss retires Randy Moss the closest thing I'd ever seen the Jerry rice in my life
Got all the records never saw I got it only to it. Yeah, no receiver. I saw him one times
Torch Kevin Smith so bad on Thanksgiving day against the Cowboys Kevin Smith still sees a purple 84 in his dreams brother
He torched Kevin Smith up
Club was his A&M guy
But Randy Moss will be missed. I don't I just think he's trying to dodge training camp could be I think somebody you know
It's agent saying all about things. He's in the best shape of his life
He he's ready to play ball, but we want to multi-year deal Tigers in the best shape of his life
I just don't if I'm gonna take something brother if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That's another one
Leave him away from my box as they're saying Gerald McCoy's just
Oh, we need their training
Oh, yeah, but uh, I think Tampa's another team
But you mean to tell me that nobody pay Randy will give you four-meal guaranteed no fluff do it
I agree once a contemporary, but I believe Tampa's a contender
I'm speaking of that as we move to the NFC AFC North Preview
Real quick. So Randy I don't want to throw your stats out
If Randy Moss is not in the league week five then we'll we'll do a Andy Pettit type thing
We'll do the Randy Moss retirement. Okay, but he's he's right now. I don't believe it till week one like your far thing
We're playing football in 84 is not running down the field for some team. I'm not gonna discover today
Randy Moss is retired, but
NFC North AFC North we start in the Norris division
Also known as the NFC central their last year is all NFC central for all year
You love the central the black and blue division as we have green Bay Minnesota Chicago and Detroit
Of course the green Bay Packers are defending Super Bowl champions. Um
Is it is it green Bay and a bunch of other teams?
Pretty much. I mean, it's green Bay not is this not the easiest conference to call. I really believe that
uh
I really believe that that the Bears are limping
I really believe that the Lions no matter what they're still the Lions
Minnesotum Donovan McNabb is not the answer. Yeah, just end then there's green Bay is yeah is this
Is this the easiest one could you really go green Bay and nobody else matters of course unless you have injuries
I think green Bay made it through some injuries last year. They can't win without Aaron Rogers
I agree if something goes on there it could get freaky
Back-to-back championships. Not easy. So I'm not ready to crown them as Lombardi's Packers. Not just yet
Um, of course green Bay Aaron Rogers defending champs here in Dallas beat Pittsburgh beat Chicago with the vision foe in the NFC title game
I think Jay Cutler's an issue
Jay Cutler right now has nobody to throw to yeah Roy Williams will be decent for 40 uh
Uh, can you hold on the ball? Yeah, Barbara running the ball might help them. Yeah, Fortier out there a mat fort mat 40a 40a 40a 40a out there running the ball
um
That might help you a little bit defensively or a brine or a lacquer seems to go backwards every every year
Where's Tommy Harris no longer there julie julie's peppers is to me the only bright spot on the Bears defense
But lovey seems to find a way to win with that team not gonna win the division
Minnesota
Agent Peterson's a fragite next year brother. It's almost say
You you better figure out a look
You better figure out a way to win
I just
Minnesota to me as they end up they end up signing
Michael Jenkins former Atlanta wide receiver the other day. Oh, yeah, Sydney rise goes to so pretty much you've got Adrian Peterson
a bunch of
Midcar two to three wide receiver number guys the greatest running back in the league and a quarterback to really
It's been irrelevant this league in four years
I think minnesota finishes dead last in this division. I'm gonna say Detroit if fraylee's healthy
Fairly fairly and sue can play to the level he played last year
Detroit's trying to win with defense. I believe that's their i.e. That's their that's what they've gone gone to
Stafford something in Stafford's not the answer. He's got to stay healthy. Uh, yeah
We I don't even I don't know how good this kid is because
We can't play longer than four games. Yeah, but Detroit makes another return to Dallas this year
Um, I'm gonna say green bang Chicago
Detroit and Minnesota, but that Detroit Chicago could be interchangeable. I'm gonna have Detroit at eight and eight this year
I'm not ready to pick a dark horse yet, but you know what that's good for them
I'm gonna say Chicago at eight and eight, but that should cut the Detroit Chicago thing to me is interchangeable
But I can't go against the Packers Minnesota. This might be the worst Minnesota team we've seen in years
We'll go back to Chris Chandler
Poor Donovan. Yeah, so AFC North the course at home. Did you would you hear about the the number problem? Yeah, the kicker kicker
In a punter
Shoms who's what's his name?
Who cares how punter guy pilot war five
AFC North of course Pittsburgh stateers Cleveland Browns since Cincinnati bangles
And the Baltimore Ravens almost forgot about them. Um, this is the different one because
Pittsburgh hadn't lost anybody, but they hadn't gained anybody. Yeah, Baltimore kind of cleaned house
But then they signed some guys
Of course Cincinnati the Carson Palmer that soap opera is gonna go on all year long
They did sign cornerback Nate Clemens who was released by the San Francisco 49ers
um
I'm looking forward to what what what the changes in Cincinnati what this is gonna do for Jordan chip exactly
Jordan Shipley uh, Jordan Shipley's a guy that I think you have to get him the ball
Him and they got a great tie in a German Grisham since and that he's trying to get young and I can't blame them
Andy Dalton to me will be the starting quarterback when the bangles take the field week one
I think since and that he's wanting to get young
To me German Grisham the not what the twelfth pick of the draft that year you get Jordan Shipley in the second round
You get Andy Dalton in the second round this year
Cincinnati to me he's drafted great. Yeah, Carson Palmer's plug-in of go down is one of the most overrated players in history NFL
Wow, husband trofe winner. He had one good year
Now I'm gonna tell you that one good year was enough to get them to surf but on this show last year
We talked about if Carson was in a different system. He'd probably be better. That's true in Cincinnati has made him
When most overrated players league as they resign Cedric Benson
They do pick up pick up Cedric Benson one rear just said Cedric Benson rushed for 2500 yards
The past two years split
Past two-year totals. That's not a but Cedric Benson. That's yeah, well, they've let that too
But Cedric Benson run that's that shocked me when I was like whoa, that's
That's a decent two back in the league. Yeah decent um, I think
Cleveland Colt McCoy you've already released
Uh Jake the Lone's been released. Okay. I think we're gonna see Colt McCoy era began in Cleveland this year
I'd cynical Wallace is a guy there cynical Wallace was bad and I was state. He was bad in Seattle
He's gonna be bad in Cleveland. He was a receiver in Seattle. Yeah, I don't tell them. They absolutely needed the first ball
I think the Colt McCoy era begins in Cleveland this year. I think it's gonna be sink or swim. Yeah, I agree with you
Let's see what happens
Then there is Baltimore. I think Flacco another year under his belt
Just weird. I think a Joe Flacco is harder back. Joe Flacco now and not only that but a fifth five-year starter in the league
Of course, I think Ray Lewis this might be his career. This may be Ray swan song and and
In some of you know, I think this is this is it for Ray Lewis
If Baltimore's gonna win another ring. I think it's this year. Okay. I
Like Baltimore to win this division. Really? I like Baltimore. They have seen North
He can't Pittsburgh's gonna probably be two
But I'm gonna watch the battle between Cleveland and Cincinnati as they're going to get younger
So if you're a bangle fan if you're a brown fan relax enjoy the future. Yeah
Cleveland you're not gonna win the Super Bowl
more more surreal
More surreal the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA World Champions or the Cleveland Brown Super Bowl champions
Right now at this junction of times they continue caps
Because that you talk about a team that's in disarray at least with the Browns you don't constantly hear something
You know, it's always something about the owner of getting stupid. Yeah, at least with the Browns
They're quiet. Yeah, AFC North. I'm gonna go Baltimore Pittsburgh
Cleveland and Cincinnati are interchangeable. Okay. I'm gonna watch
I want to see if any Dalton starts that's gonna be a real cool dynamic there in Cincinnati in my opinion
So last little verb congratulations this weekend
Hall of Fame weekend congratulations to Richard Dent Marshall Falk
Chris hamburger less Richter the great Ed Sable
Deon Sanders and Shannon Sharp. Yeah, congrats no game this year
But we will definitely next week or NFL talk. We will do a little retro spec of those guys career and give our opinions of those get the career
One of these guys has mentioned in my list as a street light has come on
Working a little over time to night guys too much NFL to talk about how much NFL had to get it all yet
And we had to because though by this time next week. So we go we are burning the midnight oil so to speak here
But stick with us here one more segment as a street lights on and the list
The pendulum has swung to you interesting list as I was reading it and I've got some points of contention here
As we go to the list
There we go. There's my face no more
That's what I feel like with Dallas right now. I hate the world. I hate that too
If you don't think about list of course the Cowboys being the Cowboys free agency all these moves five weeks of moves happening in three days
So to speak all this stuff going on
And I got to think about trades or guys that were released by one team picked up by another free agent signing some so
I made a list in my opinion the top NFL free agent signings of all time all time forever never and we're gonna scan
Would you be honest that we scanned about every generation of football on this list?
I would say you did some guys from the fifties guys from the sixties guys from the seventies
We kind of cover eighties of course number ten a guy a lot a guy that a lot of guys may not know in the room or in
Dick night train lane the great night train. I love that. I'm on the night train. I've been there that no cousin roses
Not about him. Yeah started with the Rams released by the Rams came to Detroit and invented something that's now
banned
As he invented the the clothesline tackle was his weapon of choice as this is the early
1950s NFL at that point was almost no holds bar at that point. Yeah
So he kind of in was on Detroit's one and only championship team as he kind of kind of made that defense good
Of course along with the great eric carous
And dick Lebo right on that defense as well number nine
One that I thought really shifted the scales as Charles Haley
Signed for the agency from the 49ers to the Dallas Cowboys
In the 91 season 92 season off season
Charles Haley was to mean was that signing that kind of made me go
The Cowboys are serious about winning
Charles Haley's I was a madman and then it was
Here we go. Yeah, once Charles Haley became the defensive end on the Dallas Cowboys to me all bets were off with that team
I look like he's a madman was he the greatest teammate? No
Was he bipolar as a crap house as a crap house rat?
Absolutely, but the son of a gun could sack the quarterback without Charles Haley Dallas does not win back to back
Number eight the formidable Don Maynard
Was released by the Giants signed with the jets and became the guy that scored the only touchdown from Johnny from Joe
Namath in Super Bowl 3
Maynard also led the AFC and receiving four straight years from 60 60 a three 64 65 and 66
so
Number seven Dick Leboe Hickipoo Hall of Fame Dick Leboe now defensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers
Dick Leboe cut from the Browns as anybody made more bad NFL decisions than the Cleveland Browns
You're that in the Browns the Browns for the Detroit Lions as he became the first
Cover corner led the league in interceptions five straight years Detroit was a member of the only
Championship team in Detroit along with the formidable Mike Train Lane
Number six is this the content is this contingent here disagree disagree disagree
I think the signing at number six of Terrell Owens Terrell Owens. I said Terrell Tio. I almost say Tio
I had Tio on my list to put that on there
Tio from the Eagles to the Cowboys to me
It was the first time Jerry had done a big splash signing since Dion at that point who will come up later. Yeah, since Dion
It was Jerry at the podium with a guy that we all knew was a Super Bowl was not super
The superstar in Jerry's control in the room, baby, but it seemed to me
The reasoning here was the same as the reason he did Dion which we'll get to later plus the fact of
Did he make that much of a difference because I said once Tio signed with this team
I said I'm done rooting for this team until you get rid of Tio
Well, then you get rid of Tio and you're bringing Kitten and I can't stand Kitten either
So now I'm done still done. Yeah, think about Tio. Here's here. It made to me. It made Dallas at least think
Oh, you just gotta call a homer think you were going to burn them deep
Terry Glenn didn't scare people at that point in time, but Tio was past that point too. Witten. Witten is not a deep threat
Witten's a decent place on deep threat. The time Terry Glenn rocket is smell
Who's the guy that went to to do through the jersey and parcel space and went to Tampa
Ended up being a great player after you matured a little bit wide receiver. Joey Galloway. No. Joey Galloway was here at that time
It made Dallas finally have a deep threat now. I thought it was a good signing
Great one year deal. They'd assigned Tio to one year deal. They're fine. He was past that point 13 and three
Different coach. They win a searchball that year number five John Randall from the Bucks to the Vikings got him in the Hall of Fame
Yeah, I did got him in the Hall of Fame John Randall when he was released by the Tampa Buccaneers after two years
He went to Minnesota became a Hall of Famer next one. I have a huge point of contention
I believe when Jerry Ryshe with the 49ers the Raiders. Here's the deal number forever number forever. You know why?
It Jerry Ryshe proved to the NFL world. He wasn't done
He just patten those numbers. Yeah, but took Oakland a three-straight AFC title game in your Bucks one
But he got the Oakland Raiders to the Super Bowl almost single-handedly
You know, I forget he was on that team. Yeah, I mean you talked about where 49ers went
We're going Tio's direction Jerry
We're moving on to Tio and he went okay. I'll just go cross the bridge up here in Oaktown
And I'll lead the AFC and receiving for three straight years go to the playoffs all three years and really honestly
Yes, I forgot he was on that team. Yeah, I'll I'll just sit in my
A big one here almost number one is Johnny Yume and hide us from the Steelers to the Colts all the difference in the world
All the difference in the world Johnny you was drafted by the Pittsburgh
Steelers couldn't make the team was released hitchhiked back to Louisville Kentucky got a phone fault
Phone call from the Colts that changed Hills life and the history of the National Football League. I will not debate that one
Johnny you first televised game the greatest game ever played Yankee Stadium Colts Giants
Demici scores Demici scores. I would put the this one above your top two
I just I would I just I can't I almost can't put these two as the top two free agent trades in the
I almost put one A one B one C come real close
Number two Deon Sanders from the Atlanta Falcons to the San Francisco 49ers
I'd have put this one above your number one at all of a sudden Deon became a mark
At that trade Deon Sanders became a mercenary. Yeah, this trade. It was a one-year deal
It was a one-year deal. It also signed his exit with the Atlanta Braves because he played that one year for the Giants
But uh one year
But to me with San Francisco signed him from Atlanta like I said Deon became a mercenary
He became a guy that wasn't not was ever known for fulfilling a contract or playing longer than one or two years in a place
He's the 49ers made that trade or made that sign for one thing can you shut down number 88 for the Dallas Cowboys
And he did first year he debuted against New Orleans
They beat Dallas also the reason that number one happened to so the next year my number one signing
probably ever forever ever forever for a team
But it also signaled the end of the Cowboys to me
As and that's why I put this this way. I believe this was the first
Big superstar signing for Jerry Jones into me the reason I picked it number one
I think it was the one that you kind of started seeing the tarnished off. He was playing Cincinnati at this point
He's a red as Deon Sanders goes from the 49ers to the Cowboys
I just don't think this is the number one ever. Did it okay?
Gary got him was he didn't have to play against them exactly that's the only reason Jerry
Kind of got Jerry back first time we kind of saw Jerry get behind the microphone and work a room
And kind of be that superstar owner of that flamboyant owner
But to me it also silly of Dallas Cowboys. That was a failed trade
By football standpoint remember the game against the Giants is he's walked Jerry's walked around with Phil night in the metal lands
Deon's running back ponds and showing out then the pizza hut commercials to me the deon
15 20 million both they call them coach in that commercial to me is like really this
This signing made Jerry Jones a commercial owner a flamboyant owner off the signing of Deon Sanders
That's why I'm not saying important historically
But it kind of it kind of changed the Cowboy franchise when the Cowboys signed Deon Sanders in mind
Because the Cowboys were trying to be the Yankees. Yeah, they were trying to do that work out for you got one
He called him boss not coach or a moral time
That's true. I thought he called him coaching to come right that's true
Earl Moore of course he ended up now if Earl moral moral also was a backup or started
For the Colton Super Bowl 3 if I'm not mistaken because United was hurt. Mm-hmm. You remember
Yeah, that is big. Yeah, Greasey gets all the credit for that 72 team
But he actually went in the you in the catalyst. Yeah, there's a lot of ways
I was gonna go with this list, but these kind of stuck out to me and you debate it. That's fine
That's what that's what the list is for. Yes, so we're all good as the pendulum swings back to me
You made it through you made like a champ that left after Dr. Jack helped you out that
