It's been a crazy couple of weeks.
Let's go around the day, as shall we?
To my left is my co-host,
and a man that is the only person in the studio will now,
and now he's one of two people in the studio,
not in today's festivities.

until about 20 minutes ago.
You probably should have just changed like mid show

and the camera would have been on me.
But at the same time, nobody wants to see me changing.
Even if there's something where somebody chimes in
or Don starts doing the saxophone,
just where I don't, as I'm changing.

of this show and a man who is quite the traveler
as of late and will be in the future.

It was the auto club 400, very creative by the NASCAR, getting that done.
Here's your top 10 finishers in 10th place, starting in the pole position, but falling
to 10th in the number three Chevrolet Austin Dillon, the new sheriff in town.
In 9th place, starting in 3rd in the number 10 Ford Eric Almarola, Martin Truex, Jr.
starts in 27th, winds up in 8th in the number 19 Toyota in the number 11 Toyota.
Tiny moons over my hamlin starts in 6th, winds up in 7th, and the number 1 Chevrolet
curved, starts in 21st, winds up in 6th, a lot of, a lot of, a lot of, a lot of big
movements today.
Ryan Blaney, we call him a stone in the number 1240, starts in 10th place, and winds up
in 5th, Kevin Harvick in the number 4 Ford starts in the second place position, winds up
in 4th, winning the bronze medal today, starting in 13th, finishing in 3rd, number 2 Ford,
Brad keselowski.
The silver medal up from 5th place goes to Joey Lagano in the number 22 Ford and winning
the race, starting in 4th, winning both stages and the race is one Kyle LeBouche.

So we know that all of the Netflix Marvel shows now gone.

We make the assumption that they're all going to Disney Plus later this year.
But David Tennant will not be returning to Jessica Jones season three.

I've not watched season two yet.
He's doing another show anyway.

Funny or die is going to be developing a daytime talk show in the fall.

Disney expanding its Marvel universe shows on Disney Plus.
They're going to do a what if series.
Yeah, I saw that, which I'm okay with on the level of people like us, right?
But that's going to throw a lot of people off what people like Don who doesn't go is deeply
into the Marvel mythoses.

I think that's going to be confusing for them.
Yeah, I don't have the great credit because like in the 70s and 80s, Marvel had a series
called What If.

And each issue was a standalone story like what if Bucky got the Super Serum first or what
if Mary Jane got bit by the spider instead of appeared?

Are we sure that that's the what if they're going for for the show?

So like I love I used to love what if I thought it was a great series.
I just don't know if that's going to translate well.
Well, I mean, DC's taking a couple of swings at their elseworlds stuff animated.

or Orlando, where the south stops.

For a leadership conference from work.
Had a great time.
Got to hang out with some of the leaders in my department from all over the country.
Got to hang out, have a good old time.
Got to go to Disney Springs on Friday.
Always an enjoyable time.

It's kind of an outdoor marketplace.

There you have a store there called The World of Disney, where you can literally buy everything they sell in the parks.
So, if you're not staying on property, you can just go there and buy your souvenirs.
You have to haul them around the park all day.
If you do stay on ground, you can buy them in the park.

So, Chad, you'll be happy to know there are two Star Wars stores now.

Because that's what I was scheduled for.
My plane was scheduled for 720 in the evening.

I'm early all the time.
You know, growing up with the mother who traveled all the time.
I have to be early all the time.

So, I don't know.

There's concert places that will take your TSA pre-check.

And they're starting to expand it to more locations that have checks.
So that you could literally just breeze past security.

And from the time I applied until the time I had my number was like three days.
That's impressive.
It happens when you have a clean record, kids.

So I'm like, okay, 15 minutes, I can handle this.
Five minutes later, I get a text.
Now my job, we have American Express business travel as a vendor.
Because we all have corporate MXs and things of that nature.

Five minutes after American Airlines sends me a message saying my plane's 15 minutes late.
American Express sends me a text message.
Hey, your plane's been delayed by more than an hour.
Do you want us to call you?
Whoa.
And I said, yes, please.
Five minutes after that American Airlines is like, oh, you're now delayed till 905.
American Express got to me before the airline.
That's ridiculous.
So first of all, shout out to American Express business travel.
Because I'm going to even go one better for you.
So the lady calls me.
I believe her name was, uh, was it Lilian, I think?
She's like, okay, where are you?
I'm like, I'm in the terminal.
She's like, and this is about 430.
She says there's a 445, but I don't think I can get you there in time.
I said, no problem.
She was just a 520 flight.
Find the gate number.
I'm going to call, I'm going to put you on hold.
I'm going to call American Airlines and tell them you're coming.
Good.
So here I am, Holland took us across the terminal.
I get to the gate.
This lady did not let me off the phone until I had my boarding pass in hand.
That's impressive.
That is not, that is not an exaggeration.
That is literal.
She did not let me off the phone until I had my boarding pass in hand.
That's customer service at its finest.
So again, shout out to American Express business travel.
They're amazing.
So I say to the guy at the gate, I'm like,
I know this has been last minute for me to change.
Is my bag going to make it with me?
He says probably not.
I said totally get that.
And you appreciate the honesty.
Yeah, I'm not setting it up.
There's a chance, but it's not likely.
And then I turn around in front of the show Jim Braggels on my flight.
Even better.
Get on the plane as she scans my deal.
The lady says, sir, are you okay with being an exit row?
Yes, yes, I am.
So I get on the exit row on the aisle.
So this is the second best possible scenario for me outside of being in first class.
Right.
So I'm on the plane.
And you know how like now you fly American and they've got those screens on the seat in front of you.
Yeah.
Well, I'm in an exit row.
There's no seat in front of me.
This little bad boy pulls out from his seat.
Wrong side right in front of me.
I'm like, we're going to do this.
This is happening.
And there's nobody in the middle seat.
Ooh, because nobody flies out of Portland on a Friday.
It's like, yeah, I'm not a Vegas on the front.
They're all coming in.
Yeah.
Really nice guy sitting next to me.
He went through the same thing I went through.
He was on my same flight.
American Express business travel hooked him up.
He's had to tell his buddy so his buddies could get changed.
It's like a weird Kevin Bacon thing going on.
So what was this great fight?
Yes, I don't do.
I'm always non-stop when I fly for work.
Okay.
I won't go any other way because layovers are painful.
So arrive in Dallas about seven o'clock, local time.
Because remember, you lose the hour.
Yeah, not bad.
You gain the hour.
You gain it.
So as I get off the flight, I get a text from American Airlines
that says, your bags did not make it on your flight.
Totally get it.
Totally expected.
And at least they let you know.
Right.
We will contact you and let you know what's going on.
Cool.
Stop by.
Get a little dinner on the way home.
Get home that night.
Just beat.
Beat.
And the worst thing for me is my wife's gift was in my suitcase.
I was at Disney Springs.
And I got her a picture of all the aristocrats
and I said, Disney cat lady on it.
That is appropriate.
She very much liked it.
So yes, the bags did get out to say you just kind of buried the lead.
Oh no.
Because this is where this is where the turn was.
Whereabouts of beer.
So I get a text at one thirty in the morning last Saturday morning
that says, we have your bags.
They'll be delivered today.
Go to this website, which is literally and write this down kids.
Where's my suitcase dot com?
So I'm like, cool, whatever.
Now should we include the any or is it just letters?

Oh, yeah.

Now I'm looking at it now.
So I wake up.
Because I had it.
We had a board meeting that morning for who needs sleep.
So I'm like, I'll deal with this when I get back from the board meeting
because I've got nothing on my agenda for the rest of the day,
except I want to go back to bed.
I'm tired.
So go to the board meeting.
Come back.
And it says your schedule delivery time is 1 p.m.
As soon as your bags are assigned to an agent, you know,
at that point, it's on this way.
There's nothing you can do.
It's on its way to you.
Right.
Fine.
So I'm like, well, I can't take a nap now because it's 12.30.
I don't want to just fall asleep and all of a sudden,
here's the doorbell.
One o'clock happens.
Two o'clock happens.
Three o'clock happens.
Four o'clock happens.
Four thirty, I pick up the phone.
Now, I am exhausted to head at this point.
Call the number on there, give them my case number.
And the lady says, let me put you on hold for a minute, I'm like,
absolutely, cause again, I know it's not the lady on the phones fault.
Right.
And I try to keep, and I told people, keep that in mind,
the person you talk to on the phone, it's not their fault.
So she's like, okay, I've got the guy's name,
I've got the gate that it's at.
They're going to get to a driver not a problem. Thank you
They got stuff in there that I need right
And to be fair I actually happen to be present for this phone call and she even said do you want me to have them
Pulled a bag aside where you can come get it and not worry about somebody taking it
Which I was I thought about it for about that long and I went you know what I said
Do you have to use an hour from my house and she said the words? I do not want to take two hours out of your Saturday. Yeah
Respect. Yeah, no kidding. I forgot that you were there for that. Yeah
So I'm like okay, whatever
And all I'm doing is I'm constantly checking this this website and it still says one o'clock of the afternoon Saturday
It's dinner time
Switching to 1 a.m. At this point. So I'm like I'm just going to bed. I can't deal with this anymore
So I get up Sunday morning
Now this is pay-per-view day last week and I'm exhausted. I even I skipped church because I had to get this taken care of
Call it the first person I call it 9 a.m. Couldn't have been nicer. Still said 1 p.m. The day before on the website
Where's my suitcase calm just remember
First thing he couldn't have been nicer, but we got disconnected
Uh-oh, which I wasn't mad. I mean it happens. I'm I now supervise a call center
I understand the bit. Yeah, I can't be mad like I get humble brag. Well, yeah, but you know, but I have to frame this properly
So I call a second time which technically is my third phone call, but second on Saturday morning
There were three within an hour. I'll just spoil that for you now
Second lady gets on it's like you're just gonna need to call us back in an hour
Wrong
I'm sorry what oh no, I'm like you can't alert me
Oh, we don't have access to that you have the internet
You understand what I've been through because you're reading what's on the account
That was the worst thing she could have said no, I can think of where she was not budging that dog would not hunt and I prayed it
God, I wish I'd remembered her name because I would have put it on blast
So I now call back a third time within the same hour
Girl couldn't have been nicer because again, I'm calling American Airlines what I find out is where's my suitcase.com
Is a contractor that American Airlines deals with right they deal with several airlines, okay?

So she says okay, I've talked to the guy. He has your bag in his hand
It is now quarter to 10 in the morning on Sunday
You've been home since Friday, right even
She goes it's going out on the next truck. I said that's fabulous wins the next truck lead
Three o'clock in the afternoon
Remind you it's pay-per-view day
The house is not ready to have everybody to pay-per-view so we have to go to docks again, right?
Also when we get off air so you got seismic shift on the restaurant row, okay?
And then you also have to ask me about what happened after elimination chamber
Because you weren't here for that story either you didn't get hit by another flying time. Oh, no, so you do not story. Okay, good. We're good with that
So Alex is coming to the house we have to pack the gear to get to do the show and watch the pay-per-view, right?
So I tell my wife
They told me it's gonna be on the truck at three

Go to docks house
Drop off Alex's car because he had to leave early that night because he usually rides with me, right?
We go to the wing bucket grab dinner because we got there really early
Traffic was unseasonably light that day. Yeah
So we're on the way to the wing bucket. It's quarter to four and
I get a text that says assign to a driver. It's on its way to you
So I call my wife because I'm not gonna text my wife while I'm driving and I say honey. It's on the way now
Remember kids. I said to you earlier. It's about an hour from DFW airport to my house and
Something tells me you were not the only stop on that guy's itinerary. I find it hard to believe
That I was the the not the farthest one away in my direction
