Can we continue?
It is 702 in the East Coast, it is 402 in the West Coast.
It is the 13th of March in the year of our Lord 2016.
Season 6, episode 30, chronologically, 334 times this voice has welcomed you to the Club
House podcast live every Sunday, 9th, 7, Eastern, 4 Pacific.
We appreciate you whether you are listening on iTunes, whether you are listening on our
archive, whether you are listening live right here on your stream, we don't care how
you listen, we are just glad you are here.
My name is Robyn.
Think of something that got one clock left to change, it is the one of my car, so I got that
going for me.
Which is nice.
But I am not alone for this particular episode, join me across the desk as he tends to do
as a man that encountered a little bit of a roadblock in last night.
He is Chad, welcome sir, okay, did you did, don't you?
Roadblock in, we watched roadblock last night, oh, oh, okay, okay, I forgot that's the
name of the paper, it's been a long day.
No guests tonight, we are guest list, lot of stuff going on, so we thought we just kind
of kick it old school like we do.
It is St. Patrick's Day Week.
I don't know what that does for you, it doesn't look good throw it out at my age, it doesn't
really mean anything.
Brother, you in line, we start every show with corrections, we have one from last week,
I got a text message, we made an erroneous error last week, sir, actually I made an erroneous
error.
What happened?
We were talking last week, this is coming weekend is all con, friends of ours that started
that deal many, many years ago, it's getting a little bit bigger every year, and
we talked about one of the features at all con this coming weekend is going to be a little
something we like to call universal remote, okay, friend of the show Dev and Pike, friend
of the show Clay Harrison, we name check them, we did not check, friend of the show,
Jen Rome, I was about to say, it was also involved in that deal, and she sent me a text
message this week to let me know that we forgot about her, and it's not that we forgot
about her, we just omitted her from the lineup, that's completely different, we would never
forget about the great general, we love her to death, and so I told her that we would remedy
that first thing on the show this week, it means a lot that she thought enough to actually
reach out and say, hey, I'm a part of this week, she listens to the show, that's the bigger
point, you know, so that's what's going on, that was the only thing I heard last week,
so unless you heard anything, I did not pick up on anything, all right, let's get right
into it, and by the way, if you're in the area, check out all con this weekend, some
great guests, universal remote, and universal remote is a lot of fun, and I did see some
of the channels that will be involved this past week, and super hero Tinder is one of them,
oh no, so if that prepares you, there's that going on, all right, let's get into an
NASCAR, Russ is back in the chat room, good to see you, sir, all right, so this week
we were in phoenix, for the good Samaritan 500 at the phoenix international raceway, if
it's only in one city, how is it international, do other races go to their race and other
countries from there, how does that work? The same way that Super Bowl champions are
world champions, even though they only play in one country. No, because America matters,
just saying, Top 10 Finishers, another very close finish, we had the one 1000th of a second
or whatever it was, finish at Daytona, another close finish today as of the front page of the
NASCAR website shows, your Top 10 Finishers are as follows, number 10, and a man whose name
is very appropriate for St. Patrick's Day Week, Ryan Blaney, just sounds Irish to me, and
the number 21 Ford, he was up from 12th place, from 15th to 9th, and the number 3 Chevrolet
everyone's favorite lawman, Austin Dillon, 8th place, starting from 17th and working his way
up, and the number 24 Chevrolet, Chase Elliott, isn't that what the government did in
TT? You see what I did there? Right off the cuff, didn't even plan that. I'm a comedic
genius. From 6th dropping to 7th in the race, now in the 20th Toyota, Mr. Matt Kenseth,
from 4th to 6th, then as a final, number 41 Chevrolet Kurt Bouches, from 26th to 5th, another
Top 5 Finish for Dale Earnhardt Jr, and the number 88 Chevrolet, 4 3 and 2 are all toy
out as Kyle Boosh, started the pole and winds up in 4th, Denny Ham on starts in 3rd, winds
up in 3rd, remember the Vegas World Kids break even's a win. From 2nd to 2nd, Carl
backflip Edwards in the number 19 car, and in the number 4 Chevrolet starting in 18th place,
and holding off Carl Edwards in the number 4 Chevrolet is Kevin Harvick, so he wins out
there in phonics. Let's get your driver standing for you, because as we know, NASCAR only
takes the top 16 when they start their playoffs, so right now the odd man out is going
to be Kyle Larson. He is only 5 points behind Matt Kenseth in the 16th place. Matt Kenseth
is up 6. Jumping 1 to 15 is Jamie McMurrey, dropping 1 to 14 is Casey Kane, up 2 to 13
is Eric Almerola, the aforementioned Ryan Blaney, who drives for Wood Brothers racing.
So that says he's in 12th place, he's up 2. Dropping 5 to 11 is Chad's favorite driver
Brad keselowski. Up 2 to 10 is Dale Hurton, earned heart junior, break even at 9th
as Martin Truex Jr. America's favorite lawman Austin Dillon up 2 to 8, Joey Legiano, dropped
3 to 7, Denny Hamlin, up 2 to 6, Carl backflip, Edwards up 2 to 5, Carl Bush up 1 to 4,
6 times 6 times 6 times 6 times 6 times 6 times 6 times 6 times 6 times 9, NASCAR sprint
come champion, Jimmy Johnson down 1 to 3, Kyle the Bush, gives way into second place for
Kevin Harvick. Kevin Harvick is now tied with Kyle, but he also holds the tie breaker.
So confusing, that's what you have me sir, that's what I'm here for, to add more confusion
to that.
Let's say, even with you talking about it, it just makes it more confusing.
It's not that I'm trying to confuse you.
No, it's not confusing.
Our next race, next Sunday, March the 20th, we are at the auto club speedway, now I don't
know how they came up with the name of this race, it's a little odd, because we will
be at the auto club speedway, which I'm trying to find you in Fontana, California for
the auto club 400.
That'll be next Sunday at 330 Eastern on your local Fox affiliate, not Fox Sports, Fox,
the mothership, and then of course they'll be off the Sunday after that because it's
Eastern.
And we're actually going to be off probably at this point, we're going to say two weeks
in a row, because we'll be off for Eastern, if you don't have Eastern plans, you're in
the Dallas Fort Worth area, come on out to Strokers Roadhouse, Grasty is going to be doing
church on the bike again, we're back this year, so come on out and see service with us
in the week after we may or may not be on there, that's contingent upon some other
things.
So we're not going to talk about it just yet, because we don't know for sure what's
going on.
But there was a greater than zero chance that we will not be on the air that week.
Don't forget to do all the scene of the clubhouse podcast, hey look at Russ, Danny
Ham, when they call him the Pied Piper, you see what he did there, come on, I love it
when the Empire gives us jokes, because it means I don't have to think as much.
All right, we are your one stop shopper, all things sports and entertainment, so let's
flip the script and do some TV talk, a lot of TV news this week, sir, we want to say something
I'm very, very excited about, and you probably watched me do the happy dance the other
day, it was finally announced by AMC into the Badlands is going to get season two.
Yeah, you were like, I love this show, there's only six episodes, go get caught up.
I didn't know that you were that into it.
I loved it, it's post, it's like a post, a pocket lift, it kung fu flick, like that's
two great taste of taste great together, I mean I heard you talk about it, but I never
knew that you were this jazzed about it, I really enjoyed this show, I really, really do
it, I'm very excited, but it's not coming back to 2017, geez, and maybe because they
didn't know, and so now that they know they got to start writing some scripts and
getting stuff together, take your time, if it means I get a better product than good
with it.
Yeah, I've never wanted to complain if people take their time on something as long
as the end result is worth the wait.
Luke Cage does have a debut date for Netflix, September the 30th of this year, this year
good, because what I read today is a matter of fact, so this is fresh off the press
sir.
Also, the MTV screen series, season two is going to debut May the 31st at 10 p.m.
Eastern, there will be six new cast members added to that show, more people to kill.
I don't like the mask, I finally saw a picture of the mask, not a fan, yeah, they changed
a little too much about it, speaking of things that it's nature, Fox's screen queens,
which has gotten renewed for season two, they're bringing back the main cast, I don't know
what that's a spoiler alert of any form, but that was out there today, so also CW
announcing their false, they're pretty much renewing everything on their, on their
docket, so to no one's surprise, arrows coming back, flash coming back, to my surprise
this crazy ex girlfriend, they've renewed that, I don't know, yeah, don't in the fact on the
chat room, good to see him last night as we were checking out at WWE Roblox hanging out,
but speaking of things going away, Cartoon Network has canceled children's hospital, good,
the thing kind of can kind of create me out, it's, what's the most important fact, but I like
Robcordry, I do, yeah, but it wasn't a flipping cartoon, so it shouldn't have been a part,
but it was an adult swim, so you got a great on a curve there, but it's on Cartoon Network,
a great, a great, it's just pointless to me, ABC family has canceled pretty little liars,
that had a heck of a run, sir, yeah, I did, better part of 150 episodes,
I don't know if we get syndication, so they got that going for it,
your, your host has been announced for the Emmys, did you read this this past week?
No, Kimmel, hosts in the Emmys this year, that sounds like I can see your excitement, I know,
I'm just, I'm, I'm trying to play it through in my head, and I could see that being a good fit.
And you know I'm a fan of the Kimmel, so good for him. Also,
and news that I know that you've been waiting for, news that you've baited Brett,
this the only way I can, I can state this news that you've been waiting for.
I am Zering and Tara Reed will return for Sharknado 4.
Do you hear who else is joining the cast?
No. Gary Bucy.
What is this? We do do this every time, it's called the Sharknado mermaid.
Oh, okay. Every time I played this long, you asked me this question.
Rust, Rust agrees with me on the Kimmel thing, he's a fan, so yeah, I think it's a great thing.
Let's see, in other news of why do we need this?
You saw that Fox is doing an exorcist series, right? Yeah, Gina Davis joining the cast of that.
Okay. Okay, okay. And you also know they're rebooting my giver. Yes, because we need that.
George Eads joining the cast of that show. That's a disaster in the making, I think.
To George Eads start making some good choices. Like you can't ride CSI forever. No, it's gone.
You know, then I'm going on. I mean, you are the voices of Captain Adam in Justice League and God bless you.
Don says if Bucy's playing a shark or a mermaid, he's going to call Trademark in French.
Wouldn't that be gimmick in fringe meant? Yeah, especially if it's a mermaid. You've got no claim on the shark thing.
Only Katy Perry can do that. We do have another casting for 24 legacy playing the older brother of the
main character will be an Ashley Thomas. I don't know if you know who he is, I didn't recognize him,
but it was a headline. So I had to put it out there because you know how I am with with 24 or anything.
I'm going to check it out because you know I'm a junkie for anything 24.
I'm not holding my breath and I'm not setting the bar real high, but I'll check it out. It just seems like too much
too big of a departure.
We do have interesting news. I think you'll actually will be interested in this news.
Circle April the 4th at 6 Eastern on your calendar. Okay, so 5 local will be the debut of the new
Powerpuff Girl series. Not interested. I thought you had a modicum of interest in this. No, because it
looks too much like what they did with teen titans. I haven't seen anything. Is that really what's going on here?
Yeah, they gave it that that. That she be anime look and I just I mean it worked in its original
incarnation and just like just keep it the way it is or just don't bother. Oh, you just missed it. They
show the the finish for phoenix. See if they re-show it again. I mean it was a close finish.
Let's see where else are we? Uh, but and using that now I'm going to say this next news you're really
going to be excited about. Amazon has green lead a pilot for the reboot of the tick.
It's Warburton involved. He's executive producing. Oh, he's got to be in it. I think he realizes that maybe
he may have aged out a little bit. No, but he is executive producing so he will be directly involved.
I don't think he's aged out at all. Or maybe he thinks he's got, you know, maybe a little too much on his
plate. Because now he's got that other new series that he's doing in the BC there might be a
conflict of interest there. Uh, Lisa Weapon has its Martin rigs. Can't wait to hear this. Does it
incline Crawford mean anything to you? Should it? I'm asking. I don't know. I don't know everything
No, no, just like, you know, you've kind of said it like this is something that you know and I don't
you're going to hit me on it if I don't. Uh, he was in a walk to remember, which I don't think you
all know. Uh, let's see what else do we have here? Anything that you would know him from.
He was on set four episodes of NCIS New Orleans.
Um, see, I've watched that show a handful of times, but not in a couple episodes of Graceland. Three episodes
of justified. He was on the glades. Did a couple episodes of leverages my wife's a huge fan of.
He was in 24, but I don't recognize the name of the character. He's called Kevin Wade.
So I don't know. Got nothing. He was in this smoke and aces sequel.
Oh, let's see. Did a couple of us as a CSI, but who didn't?
He was in a TV version of Jericho that CBS did back in a six. He was in a couple of episodes of CSI,
but who isn't. It's like, between CSI and law, and we're doing what to say.
They've got all of Hollywood covered. Um, I can kind of see it.
But I don't know. This whole lethal weapon thing is wheels off to begin with.
Yeah, I'm not a fan. I'm not supporting it. So you got that going for you, which is nice. Um, Amazon is going to have
their very first live show Monday through Friday. I'm going to start Monday through Thursday at nine
Eastern. It's going to be called style code live with Frankie Grande Rachel Smith and Lindsey Rod
Regas. And on Fridays, they'll be doing a best of from that week. Frankie Grande as in Ariana Grande's brother.
Yeah, I don't know. I'm pretty well, because he was a contestant on big brother a couple of seasons back.
Russ says the dude for this Clive dude was a Clive dude was in Roswell, but I don't want
that either kind of see it either. So, but, but you know what, Amazon's really trying to get things cooking.
Now they're doing their first live show. So, you know what, Netflix, you're moved.
Not exactly. I think Netflix is probably about 15 steps ahead.
I don't think they're sweating the live thing all that much.
Congratulations to Marina Bakarin and Ben McKenzie. They welcome a baby girl into the world this
past week. Good for them. Miles will talk to those kids. Kids, you say.
And, uh, in news, that's a little bummy for me. Do the name Jonathan Goldsmith mean anything to you?
Jerry Goldsmith, but not Jonathan.
Well, you officially used to know him as the most interesting man in the world.
Oh, yes. After nine years, if you can't believe it's been that long,
he is no longer going to be doing those commercials for that. That's unfortunate. End of an era, sir.
So apparently they've got that this commercial has been found out for the commercials really, really kind of neat.
So, is there really just going to encapsulate him in a nutshell? I just want to say to Jonathan Goldsmith,
stay working my friend.
I can't believe they're there putting that campaign to bed because it's so effective.
And people every time they do a new one, people maybe they've just run out of ideas. I'm like, you know what,
we don't want to turn this thing into a shadow of its former self.
But if that's the case, God bless you. You really don't want this to be the wasp of this generation. Indeed.
You're listening to the clubhouse podcast live every Sunday, night, seven Easter and four Pacific.
If you miss any section of the show, it will be available on archive immediately after we go off the air.
Also, make sure you subscribe on iTunes because if you don't, you're going to miss a lot of stuff that we do.
Also want to remind you,
come in up. We've got a couple of big things, April the 14th. It's a Thursday.
Make sure you join. Is it a Thursday? Yeah, I think we established that.
My head here sounds right. We're going to be broadcasting live from Fairhall at Music Park in Dallas, Texas in Cooperation
with our friends at DSM for the high school musical awards.
Very excited about this. Yes, April 14th is a Thursday. Okay, good. And that would be Fair Park at Music Hall.
You said Fairhall at Music Park. That too. I want to catch it now before you had to do a correction.
My brain is so fried today. I'm right there with you. I'm amazed. I caught it.
Music Hall at Fair Park. We're going to be doing so much that night. It's and it's going to be awesome.
You don't want to miss this. You're going to get to hear from very, very talented high school students
from the North Texas area. You're going to be hearing from some dignitaries, some very important
people that are actually going to sit down and talk to these couple of shrubs.
I'm going to say right now. If you miss that show, you're going to miss the show everybody's
going to be talking about and not done just corrected it as well. Not just people that are normal
members of the Empire are going to be talking this because this is going to be simultaneous.
Not only through our site, but through Dallas, summer musical site as well. This is going to be a
big deal. Yeah. We're stoked to be on the lead April the 14th also May the 15th. That is a Sunday
in Rockwall. You're going to check out cars for Casa, friend of the show, Misty Barcelona,
heavily involved in this. It's a huge car show that they do every year. There's going to be prizes.
There's going to be some awesome cars and motorcycles and everything else out there. And they're going
to be raising money for Casa. That's why it's called that. Casa helps kids in need that are
that have been suffered through abuse and things of that nature. And we're all about charity on this
show. So make sure you support them. It's going to be it's an all day deal. All of the proceeds
are going to go to Lone Star Casa. It's going to go from 10 a.m. to 130. The award show will be at
four. This is an all day affair. And I'm pretty sure every year they've done this. And this is just
you know as far back as I can remember us doing these things. Gorgeous day. It's always it's a little
hot, but it doesn't it's never like adverse weather. People have a great time out there. You're not
going to win. We're going to tell you about this every show leading up to it. Then there's something
else coming up. And we don't have everything all the details in set and stone yet. So stay tuned for that.
All right. Shall we move on and do a little POI? Let's do. All right. Let me get back to where I need to be.
POI stands for person of interest. It is a segment we do on this show each and every week where we take
in a person or an entity. And we debate their late greatness or lack thereof. It is my turn this week.
And I was thinking about this today. Evolution is inevitable. Like they say changes in an
except from vending machines. Tell you my comedy is on fire. But there's a certain piece of evolution
that we are dealing with currently in our society that I still can't get behind. And I have a very
I have a very good friend that's heavily involved in this deal. And for him it works.
But it's still kind of weird to me. And that is known as the Uber.
Yeah. I'm a little leary of that whole project. For those of you unfamiliar, first of all,
welcome back from the cave. But Uber is a thing where they have an app, you have an app on your phone.
And if you want to ride somewhere and you don't want to pay all the stuff the taxis charge you,
you just punch in a deal on your phone. And they find whoever the driver is that works for them.
Because the word for them, you just basically have to submit a form to them. And then you have the app.
And when you want to drive around, you pull up the app and that makes you available.
And you get alerted. And then you go pick up these people. And you take them where they want to go.
So it's kind of like you're circumventing the taxis system.
And if you're an Uber driver, you get paid. I think it's every Thursday.
I don't know what the percentage is. I don't know how that works. But it does work out cheaper for the
rider than a taxi would. My boss recently used an Uber to get home from the airport. I think it cost
him $15. So if you have seen it 20 bucks, and that was from the airport to like Plano,
which for those of you outside of the Dallas Fort Worth area, that's probably about a 30-40 mile
drive. Because that's, it's about three quarters of the way from, you know, from here from the studio
to the airport. So it's a good deal for you. And then normal Joe's get paid. And like, you know,
like this friend of mine that does it, he's just kind of a sidekick. And the way he does it is,
he makes himself available as he's driving to work. And he just leaves a little bit earlier.
And so he can pick up fairs on his way to work. As long as it's not too far out of his normal commute.
Because I'm not mistaken, but if you're a Uber driver, you don't have to take the fair when it comes
to you. If they want, if they want you to drive them to like Norman, Oklahoma, you can say no.
But for me, I'm leery of taxis anyway. Especially when I go to a city that I don't know very well,
because I always feel like they're taking me in like the mega scenic route.
Yeah, everybody thinks that you always get that. And not to say that that's the case, but that's just kind of a way
I feel because you don't know better. Exactly. I'm a stranger in a strange land.
But this is a big thing. There's there's lift, which is another version of this. There's quite a few
different versions of the of the Uber concept. And I want to say lift may have been first.
But it's weird to me. Like you're getting in somebody's car that you don't know.
And we have seen certain incidents on both sides of it, crazy drivers and crazy passengers,
but you're going to get that with anything. Is this, if you had a need for such a thing,
sir, would you see yourself using this? Only if I had no other option. Have some. Well,
I'm just, you know, if I can't get ahead of a friend that lives locally to pick me up and
cart me around or whatever. And if calling a taxi is just incredibly cost prohibitive,
but it's one of those things where I'd want to read like local reviews of the service before I
be willing to take that chance. Because it's it's it's rolling of the dice, especially in
light of what we heard happen to one of our favorite podcasters daughters. Kevin Smith's daughter
Harley Quinn. I mean, granted, she didn't it didn't happen. Right. But it's because you're your Uber.
And it describes the car of it's supposed to pick you up. And these guys showed up saying they were
her Uber driver. And she's like, this is not matching the description. And they took off and
got knows what would have happened. You know, they could have just been guys trying to make it
a little extra money off of people. But it could have been something much more in a fairies. Yeah.
And that's what scares you. It's the it's the what you don't know. Because I'm always
leary about whenever I'm ever back on the day whenever a cab would pull up a foot of your house
and it didn't look like a cab. Yeah. And you know what that actually happened to me. I was in San
Francisco and I took a cab. You know, I had a lot of free time between the end of my the meeting. I was
at in San Francisco in my airport time. And so the cab driver, I haven't taken me to a local mall.
So I could walk around for a while and just kill some time. And he said, you know, give me a call
when you're ready to go and I'll come pick you up. So I did. And he shows up in a pickup truck.
It was like his personal vehicle. And I mean, I mean, God, it was on the up and up. But that was a
little weird. He was Uber and before Uber and was paying apparently. And the really funny part was
we got in and all of a sudden, you know, he puts on the country music station. And I'm like,
what's what's going on here? And he's like, oh, you live in Texas, right? I mean, you don't always
in the country music, sir. I specifically do not. He's like, okay, cool. Then he's put it like a classic rock
station. But this is just a weird thing to me. And I can't, I can't wrap my brain around it.
With with that in mind, like, are you surprised? It didn't pick you up on a horse with with a tumble
we go inside your, me a break. It's just, I don't know. I don't think I could do it.
I mean, you know, who do they answer to? I mean, who are they created? Uber counsel? I mean, I mean,
I'm told that it's like they do a thorough background check and stuff. Why do I picture a bunch of
guys? We all the Uber accounts in. I picture Jorel with a lightest staff. You are assigned to play
though. You're assigned to eat with a dress to the Uber accounts.
Needle before, Zod. I swear to God. I don't know. If I find out that they've changed the name of
whatever it is now to the Uber counsel, we're going to sue some. Yeah. We have a case because we've
got it on record now. I don't know. The governing body of the Uber counsel. I don't know.
I don't like the lantern core. Completely thrown off now. You feel better about things now, sir?
Yeah. It's been a rough one. I don't know. It's just, I don't know.
If it works for you, God bless you. It's just something I can't wrap my brain around. I mean,
it seems to work for a lot of people. I just don't know if I trust it yet. I just don't know if
it's been established well enough. And for some people, they probably think we're being incredibly
paranoid. And this is also a proposal this weekend being South by Southwest and Uber and things
if it's ill are a huge player down there in Austin for South by Southwest. Well, I mean on
and local businesses are making that part of their plan. Like, you know, one of our favorite
theater chains. They're trying to make it a point to include an Uber stand nearby their theater.
So it's, I mean, this is, this is a full blown. This is a thing. It's a thing. You know,
it's not something that's going away anytime soon. It's just, it's just weird to me.
Yeah. We just, I mean, we just, I mean, we just, I mean, we just, I mean, we just need to
learn to be more trusting. I don't know. I don't know. It's just such a weird thing to me.
I mean, I mean, is it really or is it just, we're so old fashioned that we just can't see the
forest or the trees? I mean, I really don't know what we're afraid of. But I just don't know if we're,
I don't, I don't know if it's just the kids with the clothes and the hair thing or
I don't know. I just, I can't wrap my brain around it. I'm just saying.
All right. We ready to move on. Yeah. Let us move on and talk a little basketball because
we've got two different basketball things to talk about today.
I've got so many tabs open in my browser right now. It's disgusting.
Got a lot going on golf today as we're sitting here watching the S spin news in the studio.
Saw guy hit a 70 foot pot.
All right. I'm just trying to get my computer to catch up with us right now.
A lot of, I think there's a lot of people on Yahoo right now giving what's going on. But let's get
your NBA standings first before we get into college because it is selection Sunday sir. Right.
So you're going to need to fill out your brackets after the show.
Don't make me do. All right. In the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. Now it's time to play
another one of America's favorite games. How bad do the Philadelphia 76 or suck?
All right, Chad. How many wins do the 76ers have right now?
Oh, I have no idea. That's, but that's why you get nine. You are correct. Oh, wow. 9 and 57 right now.
They are 36 games out of first place. So I'm just going to go ahead and say it. They are,
I don't know. They are rough for them. They are 10 and a half. 9 and a half games
behind the Brooklyn nets who are 12 games behind the once mighty New York knickerbockers. The
nicks are 13 and a half games behind Boston. I'm sorry. I'm way off on that.
They're 12 games behind Boston. Boston is now six back on Toronto. Toronto on a three-game win streak.
In the central division. Where'd I go? The Miller walk K bucks. 28 and 38. They are 19 and a half
back. So they are pretty much out of it. There's 58 and it's, uh, eight and six, 64. They're out of it.
Chicago. They are five games ahead of Miller walk K, but a game behind Detroit. The
Detroit's a game and a half behind Indiana. But Indiana is 12 back on Cleveland. Cleveland and
Indiana have both won three in a row. In the southeast division, the Orlando magic. They are 11
games. Our nine games below 500 and they're nine and a half back. They're two back on Washington.
Washington is seven and a half games back on Atlanta. Atlanta's a half game back on Charlotte.
I can't even learn how to read this. Try that again. Orlando's nine and a half back. They're
two games behind Washington. Washington is eight and a half back on Atlanta. Atlanta now. I have
came back on Charlotte. Charlotte's now. Charlotte's 11 seven in a row right now, sir.
They're on a tear. And they're a half game back on my beloved Miami heat.
In the western vision, western vision. In the western conference, north, west division. The
mean that sword at timber wolves are 24 games below 500. So they're out of it. They're also 38
and a half games back. Why did you turn 23 on Villain? Just I don't know. They're 23 games back. So
they're out of it. There are seven games behind Denver. Denver is three and a half back on Utah.
Utah is four games back on Portland. Portland now nine and a half back on O. K. C. O. K. C.
Four and six in their last 10, but they're on a two-game win streak. In, let's skip the
Pacific Division and come back in the southwest division. The New Orleans publicans are 17 games
below 500. They're 31 and a half back. But you know what? They've won three in a row.
They are, your Dallas Mavericks have fallen into obscurity. So they've lost five in a row. Yeah,
they've hit it. And crushing New Orleans lost three in a row. I really have to learn how to read.
But they are 23 games back. They're tied with Houston right now. Houston is six games back on Memphis,
but you also have to be in a division with San Antonio. You want to guess how far back
Memphis is on San Antonio? 12. 17. And they have, again, they have clinched a playoff spot.
Oh no, they've clinched the division. How is it? That's just weird to me.
That's weird. Golden State hasn't clinched their division, but San Antonio has. What does that
tell you about the difference in competition? The Lakers. I'm going to guess how many wins the
Lakers have right now? 14. You are correct sir. You are two for three in this segment.
Get him to Vegas right now! They're 14 and 52. You want to guess how far back they are?
For a chance at the Ford Festiva? I've got no idea. They are 45 in the end. Of course.
We're sorry Jimmy. So they're almost 25% back for next season.
God they're bad. There are three-baked games back on Fuhenix. You realize everybody
but Golden State in this division is on a losing streak. It's what it sounds like.
Fuhenix is nine games back on Sackarabane, Paul who lost four in a row.
Sackarabeno is 16 and a half games back on the clippers. And the clippers are 17 games
back on Golden State. Golden State has played 65 games. There are 17 games left for them to
tie the balls. They have to go 13 and 4. 14 and 3 to break the record.
So there's that. And they've won four in a row.
See if I can get you. I guess this time we can start playing if the playoff started today.
If the playoff started today, here's how it goes down.
We can't because it won two, three, four, five, six, seven.
Yeah, that Blake Griffin injury probably isn't helping the clippers much either.
You're odd man out. If the playoff started today, are the Chicago Bulls.
However, for the eighth spot in the playoffs, they are one game behind Detroit.
And there, but they're also three and a half up on Washington.
So it's not like there's, is that right? No, here I am.
There's seven games up on Washington. So they've got a bit of a comfortably there.
But here, if a playoff started today, here's how it goes. Detroit would play Cleveland.
Good luck with that. Indiana would have Toronto. Now Toronto has been playing ball lately.
Atlanta would have Boston, Charlotte would have Miami. That would be a good series too.
Yeah, would. In the Western Conference, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
The good news is the eighth seed in the Western Conference right now are your Dallas Mavericks.
They have a 10, nine and a half game lead on Utah.
So if they can just hold the course, your Dallas Mavericks will get in the playoffs. That's the good news.
What's the bad news? Hmm. Who would they get?
I don't want to know. You know who they would get. Yeah. Eight plays one. You'd get golden state
in the first round. Houston would get San Antonio. God. Portland would get Oklahoma City.
Memphis would get the clippers. It's this has been a much more interesting and a NBA season than I thought it would be.
I'm just going to go ahead and say it. Really have enjoyed watching. Now let's get to the story of the day.
I'm going to run the brackets for your real quick. You may, I'm sure if you watch anything,
ESPN related, you're going to know what's going on. But in the South region,
let me just go ahead and tell you your your one seeds right now. Virginia, North Carolina,
Kansas and Oregon are your one seeds. As it stands in the first round,
Kansas will get Austin pay P. E. A. Why? Colorado, Yukon, Maryland versus South Dakota State,
Cal gets Hawaii, Arizona gets the winner of Vanderbilt and Wichita State.
So the shockers are back in. Miami of Florida gets Buffalo, Iowa versus Temple,
Villanova versus NC Asheville in the eastern region. North Carolina will get the winner of Florida
Gulf Coast State and I don't know who F.D. You is.
U.S.C. will play Providence, Indiana versus Chattanooga, Kentucky versus Stony Brook,
Notre Dame with a shocking couple of wins in the ACC tournament by the way, beating Duke
on Thursday night. They'll get the winner of Michigan and Tulsa, the golden hurricane.
West Virginia against Stephen F. Austin, sir. Really? Yes. Wisconsin meets Pittsburgh,
Xavier meets Weber State in the Midwest region. Virginia gets Hampton, Texas Tech,
gets Butler. Purdue gets Arkansas little rock. Iowa State takes on Iona,
Seaton Hall. Guess who gets in again? Seaton Hall. Who have I been watching on TV for the last
four weeks? South Florida. No, because as the HBO series, that ends this week. Oh shoot.
Gonzaga. Okay. So they do get into the dance. Utah gets Fresno State,
Dayton plays Syracuse and Michigan State as a two-seat which surprised a lot of people.
They will get middle Tennessee State. And in the West region, Oregon gets the winner of Southern
and I can't see who they're playing. St. Joseph takes Cincinnati on bailer gets in to take on Yale,
Duke as a foreseed. A lot of people weren't sure where Duke was going to line up because they've
not had a good year. They've struggled a lot. They're going to play NC Wilmington. The University
of Texas gets in as they will play Northern Iowa. Texas A&M plays Green Bay, not the Packers.
Oregon State will get VCU and Oklahoma as a two-seed gets CSU Bakervealed. Did I miss something?
Did LSU not get in? I remember hearing you say the name. Wow. That is a shock to me.
LSU did not get in Florida did not get in South Florida did not get in. So I really have no reason
to watch this tournament. But we will print these brackets up. Shadow fill his out. I'm going to
fill mine out and we'll keep you updated on social media how we do. I do love the tournament.
I really, really do. Especially since I don't have to work events that are involved with
it anymore. It's kind of nice. All right. Let's move on. Talk to music talk. Take a sip of my tasty
beverage while the starts. Brian Johnson, lead singer of AC DC, has told Biden has been told by
doctors. He has to stop touring. Health issues are getting good. Russ says FDU is
farly Dickinson University. That sounds something that would have been like Blue Mountain State.
And they were, AC DC was just here in our fair bird just a few weeks ago.
From the side of it probably the last time. And remember, Sir, Father Time is undefeated.
It makes me sad that I get it. Kanye West, he's going to be releasing his new album.
One of three albums he says he's going to release this year. Notice I'm not changing the music.
Thank you. But they're only going to be streaming because he says CDs are dead.
Oh, no. Oh, no. He's starting to sound awful familiar.
Oh, stop the madness.
Uh, in other new album releases coming soon.
Davens go in front of ninjas.
I'm going to have a tour. Is that it made 20th? I'm still talking too clearly to do Dillon on it.
Hmm.
Bob Dylan the original Harrison Ford ladies and gentlemen. Oh, I don't know about that.
But made 20th because I started the new tour. I like a lot of the older Dillon stuff.
I wouldn't say all of it because I'm just I'm not a uh, I'm not at what the kids refer to as a
hipster. Oh, and uh, Russ says after you are the knights.
But they don't make me want to shout.
It's not Oh, just day and okay. Uh, Janet Jackson has called off all of her European
doer tour dates for technical difficulties. So first it was held and they don't know. They don't know
when they're going to be able to uh, refund those. I do the dates of the refunding all the tickets.
Just on sports center. Guess who won the Formula One race today.
One Pablo Ventoya. You can my father be here today.
And uh, news that will be interesting to my wife. The Caddollarsine Ha will be playing
herself on the Nashville. Do you see where I went there?
Caddollarsine. That's how that's what it looks like. It's Caddollarsine. This is true.
And we do want to send our best and her she's going through a real tough time legally, right?
So yeah, Russ says some of the I saw this that there's a local festival.
They do have your call the wildflower festival. I've been Richardson. Oh, yeah.
Who bestank is playing this year? I'm a fan. I'm enjoyed their fine work.
I have to check out the lineup on that because I know that at one time more staying in the
time played it. I saw it most of this year. There's they're about the best thing on it. Really.
Uh, you know where the name comes from. They were all college buddies. And whenever somebody
would rip one, they'd say who's butt stank. And it just gled into one word. Who bestank?
That's where it comes from. That's nice. You're welcome America. All right. Music new releases and places.
You get music new releases this week.
Going. Yep. Her brand new album. This Friday it's called Gwen Stefani. It's called this is what the
truth feels like. Speaking of truth. Rumors she may be swirling back around the Gavin Rossdale.
Really. I will not have to confirm nor deny.
But I'm hearing the rumors. So I don't know. Got that going for you.
Iggy Pop has a brand new album this week. It's called Post Pop Depression.
And R&B hip hop superstar Yakhima. Because then tight. Unless you release a struggle love.
So there's that. I'm not saying who this tank on the lineup. I'm saying the totes. It was just announced
this past week. But no, I saw the announcement myself. Jimmy Vaughn. Yes, I did. That's right. I forgot about that.
It's mostly cover bands. It's like the freaking unforgettable fire that YouTube tribute band.
Let's go home and get in. Get the in memoriams out of the way this week. Just a couple this week.
We've slowed down a little bit. Thank you. But two big ones. We're going to start with Keith Emerson passing away
at 41 or some sorry 71 years old. If you, you might not know him off the bat, but you know the last name.
Oh, yeah. Yes, that Emerson of Emerson Lake and Palmer. He was the keyboard player.
One of the primary songwriters in the group was born in, you're going to, you're going to,
me, you may have to help you because your wife is a British descent. Todd Morden Yorkshire.
Does that help you at all? No. Okay. Fair enough. His family had been evacuated there from a
South coast of England during the Second World War. Guru up and going by the sea. Is that where
rhinos were? He, again, he was the keyboard player. You're on fire. I'm not a control today.
But he's one of the first really big guys to use the moog synthesizer. He was one of the very early synthesizers.
One of the, I mean, they're in a run, run, run, run, run, run. Pretty sure Emerson Lake and Palmer kids.
And then the biggest one of this last week that absolutely crushed any music lover, anywhere
that knew anything about music. George Martin. Not George R. R. Martin completely different
person. Yeah. When you texted me, I got, I panicked twice once because of what a thought you
meant and then once because of who you actually meant. Neither one of them were great news.
Been referred to as the fifth beetle. He's the guy who basically, he blew up the beetles in this
country. Yes, he did. You know, he took them from just a, like a cover band playing in small clubs
to absolute superstars. A lot of his, his son also worked a lot with him as his son got older.
When they did beetles love, which my wife and I had had the very fortunate opportunity to see,
they were both very, very involved. And there's some really good feature at some of the DVD of it.
It's a great piece of work where they talk about how they mixed some of the songs together and some of the songs.
You don't even realize that we're inside other songs in that particular presentation.
The guy was a genius.
And
I mean, everybody came out in full force on social media. If they were anybody in the business, out of the business,
if you knew a, even knew a couple of things about a couple of things, you know who George Martin is,
right? I mean, 90 years old, as Kevin Smith was saying, that is a huge cultured of win.
This guy changed the musical landscape as we know it.
So, probably the shortest in the Moriam segment we've done in a while. And that's a good, that is a good thing.
So, you are listening to the clubhouse podcast. We're live every Sunday,
70's are in for Pacific. We are your one-stop shop for all things sports and entertainment.
And every once and again, we like to combine the two and talk a little pro wrestling.
Last night was roadblock.
Do we have to grade that on a curve because it really wasn't a paper view? It was two and a half hours.
Live from Toronto.
But you know what? The ring size picture of the ring side seats, the collectible chairs.
They still said March to WrestleMania on them. They didn't say roadblock. Because that was
original name of it. Because you see what they did there.
I thought it was okay. For what it was, it was better than it had to be honestly. A couple of
the matches went a little longer than they should. But I'll tell you what, NXT stole the show.
I'd say one of them could have gone all night and I would have mild. The NXT World Tag Team
title match was absolutely amazing. What a great match between four great competitors and a guy
in big cats that probably you'll see on the roster very soon. Six foot, that fast and that
agile. Do something with this kid now. I like this tag team partner, Enzo. I think he's kind of entertaining.
He lit over the top. He can't teach that. He just needs to. But it was a good show.
I thought the ending was a little lackluster. The false three count had that place on fire.
Great crowd last night in Toronto as well. It was a hot crowd. Your next WWE network special
scheduled for September 7th. Live in London. Oh no. So we're going to the O2 for a live WWE
network special. But it's in the middle of a week. I never have a good vibe on those ever.
So we just have to see how that works. Boy, there's a soccer score for your PSG beats Troy,
Troyans, nine and the love. That sucks. What? Nine nothing. That was your final. The soccer score.
Uh, WrestleMania 32 is officially going to break WWE's attendance record over 86,000 seats
have been bought at this point. Which I find hard to believe that it's that low because you cannot
find tickets on ticket master unless you want to pay about three grand a piece. And I'm not joking.
All you want to stand in the party pass zone or whatever they couldn't even have those available.
Oh, really those are gone. I was on ticket master Friday. And the cheapest seats available were like
$3,100 a piece. Floor seats TV side and the back right corner.
Now if I had three grand to throw away. Maybe. But as Don's told us, you don't want to sit in the
floor of WrestleMania. You want to sit on the first level because you won't see anything through all the
signs. So you got that going for you. Payback has been announced. It will be made first at the
all state arena in Chicago. WWE taking a little more time in normal in Chicago. And uh, there's a
WrestleMania magazine that talks about the Hall of Fame and they've given away your last two Hall of
Fame inductees. You want them? Yes. Jacqueline? Okay, questionable, but it's Texas, so I understand.
And Stan Hansen, well overdue. That's a bet. That's a really rock solid man from back of the day.
All right, let's get into raw shall we? Okay, in three, two, one hit the post.
Thank you. Did something I noticed on Monday night? Vince is now coloring his hair and Shane is now
embracing the gray. And Vince isn't even coloring his hair back to the dark. It's like a light brown.
I don't know if he's taking a shot at Trump. I don't know what's going on there.
And we did see McMahon Trump signs last night in Toronto. Still trying to figure that out.
And I'm going to say this. It may not happen tomorrow night, but I won't be surprised if it
happens next Monday. I just get the feeling we're getting ready for a taker Shane contract signing.
Yeah. Yeah, we have to we have to we have to really start drumming up
more interest than just the the threat of bodily injury. And I'm still not convinced that Shane
makes it to hell in the cell. I'm not I'm not yet sold on the fact that there might not be another
sort of coming with this deal. So you think they're sitting enough to be somebody else?
Yeah, I don't know.
Well, if you cause of all the rumors about this possibly being a takers last dance,
Shane's a good opponent, but I don't want him to be his final opponent.
But I also don't want him to be somebody like him. No, if you're good in replacing in the match,
completely swirled me completely swirled me because you swirled me with Shane.
And I was surprised by your reaction when I told you about it.
So you're like, no, I'm good with this. Yeah, I mean, as big of an undertaker fan as you are,
it really kind of shocked me. Because I know the kid can go. I know he can go, but just
I, this is the guy. Yeah, I mean, the the thing I was worried about is like, don't make it be
one of the freaking riots or something, you know, something that we've seen of zilly.
Speaking of the riots, somebody posted a picture of the back. I don't know if you saw it last night,
but the back of Bray Wyatt's best. Did you see it? Uh-huh. It was a, it was the Suplex city sign
ripped in half. And I said, this is Wyatt country. I was like, dude, I'm telling you, it's on, it's on
411. Look it up. It looks awesome. I was really impressed and wished I could have seen it last night.
That's gutsy. It was cool. Lookin. It really, really was. Um, it, what could be some strange timing?
Right before a divas match. WWE Raw is sponsored by Just For Men.
Just saying, I mean, these are the things I notice. And I'm just going to say right now,
Shocktop needs to sign shameless as a spokesperson. I'm amazed. They have put a pair of, put a, put a pair of sunglasses on him
and this works.
Just saying. Um,
And we have the arrival of Y2 AJ had a really great shirt on back. I said, code breaking and risk taking. And I'm also glad that we didn't get the e-mo version of
of, um, of AJ, because we've had e-mo brooding AJ for about the last three years. It's been kind of annoying.
Yeah, if Don says, Brian Brock never fought legally in the ring, I said, that's right because he just kind of left
left Harper in the ring.
Um,
Don, I'm not sure what you're supposed to before that means. Are you, are you referring to sting?
You want to sing the switch and then have him be the guy as the authority? Oh, yeah, I don't
does want to remind us to talk about boutios.
That's all. It's funny. It's a funny bit. And I got to get credit recruited to do. And the
that can you can buy the collectible boutios box with the t-shirt inside of it that has the
cutout of the unicorn mask on the back of it. She got to respect the moxie. I'm wondering if that's just a
a sleeve that you can put on a regular box of cereal because that's kind of what it looked like when they
had it. No, it's a box, it's a cereal box. It's a cereal box. It's a, a member of cereal box. Yes.
Um, and then so as I'm watching the match and then Jericho turns on AJ. So they don't buy those shirts yet,
kids. I don't really took a week. I just, I kind of think that that thing's run. It's course.
And I don't understand, I don't know, very confused about what this, what thing. The AJ Jericho
feud has not kind of run its course. Do we need to keep doing that? I don't even ask questions any
or just in other news, uh, WrestleMania 33, the site has been announced April the second 2017.
Hello, Orlando Florida in the citrus bowl. Thus further fueling rooms of coinciding with the
physical Hall of Fame, but the area that they've pit that people think is going to be in is also
being pitched for other things like an NBA exhibit and things like that. So they keep going back and
don't say, remember how sting came in is the guy against the authority when he debuted. The
perfect guy for shaded represent him. Yeah, but I don't know he's cleared. I don't know that he's had
the surgery yet, has he? Oh, I have no idea. I don't think he has. It'd be great. Don't get me wrong.
You'd see me mark out like a school girl worse than survivor series two years ago.
But we'll see. Impact has its lowest rating ever. You want to guess how many people watched
impact this week? 50,000. Multiply it by 4.25. Okay, 220,000 people. Not even a quarter of a million.
Circling the drain. They've been eyeballing that drain for you. And Mr. Anderson released from TNA
after failing a drug test and after a batch where people think he looked really wonky against
Eric Young and boy is he bitter. I'm not going to tell you what he said on Twitter, but you can find it.
It's all I'm saying. And Lucha Underground may be working on a deal with Netflix.
Which I'm assuming it would be for previous episodes. Because they are usually, they do show the
from dust, dust, or dawn series, which is also on the right network.
Don says they're talking about a Hall of Fame restaurant on Orlando. Did they not try that for WCW?
WW we tried it too. If you remember WWF New York.
So WCW did theirs in Vegas. Wasn't that where the Nitro Girl was?
Pretty sure they did that right after WWF New York opened.
I think it might have a shot to do well in Orlando because you've got NXT there already
and the Performance Center. I think it'll work in Orlando.
Does your gonna bring fans there anyway? Or maybe that's just me.
We have your next stone-cold podcast guest scheduled. It's going to air on March 31st after
Smackdown. Are you ready, sir?
Don's that's actually went to the Nitro Girl in Vegas. God bless you, sir.
But Mick Foley. Three days before WrestleMania. Will debut after Smackdown, March 31st.
But I'm being told they've already recorded it. So there's that.
We talked a couple of weeks ago about
weight-bearant leaving when his contract is up. Yes. Rumors now tied us so
Neil following suit at the end of the year. But you know what? He's done a few interviews lately
and he's still taking the high road. He's like, look, I did what they said I did. You know,
if I'm going to be suspended, so be it. But you know what? I've always been a survivor and I will always
survive. Still don't agree with what happened. No, but it's not my company.
All right, let's talk a little Smackdown. Sign of the week goes to Smackdown for Kevin Owens
is a hoser. Very funny, very enjoyable. And I don't know if you've noticed or not, but Lana
seems to be going, we're doing the deal where, you know, she's heel again and whatnot.
But she's kind of wearing the old, remember the gear she wore when she was with Ziegler?
vaguely. Where was all like airbrushed and stuff? She's wearing that again.
So I'm very confused now. And she hasn't come to him with to the ring with him in a very,
very long time. So I'm not exactly sure what's going on there. And then Sheamus,
middle of the middle of the match has to yell, this is Sparta.
That happened. Did you really? That really happened. Like, are you not entertained? I get that
because it kind of works with what he's doing. But this is, is he just going to stop movie lines now?
Let's say it, it's, it's not spark. Is he going to roll up a guy and say, you're going to need a
big and a bolt? Ta-la! That was a horrible shamis. I'm not afraid to admit that. I wouldn't
go to say it. I am not the rich little wolf, my generation anymore. I apologize for that.
All right, let's move on and talk a little bit of the of the NHL as the kids like to say.
Just, just the kids like to say to the kids. Just the kids. All right,
straight to standings in the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. In case you were wondering
the Toronto Blue Jays, still suck. They're 31 games, 31 points back. They are 10 points back on the
buffalo's sobrays. The sobrays are five back on Montreal, Montreal, two back on Oderwa.
Oderwa's back on seven points on Detroit. And what do we know about Detroit? That's what I'm asking.
They suck. Thank you very much. They are six back on my beloved lightning. The lightning
are tied with my beloved panthers. And they are both one point behind Boston. So Boston
making a last minute push as we approach the playoffs. And what is the other division in the
Eastern Conference? The Metropolitan. Thank you very much sir. The Columbus Blue jackets. They
I saw today. They were playing the lightning. And they had a different logo. The Blue jackets. They
seemed to signify the thing with a revolutionary war because you had the red coats and the blue coats.
It was like a cannon. It was kind of a neat little logo. But they're only, you know,
they're only like, what was that? 39 points out of first place. They are four, uh, see there.
Did you do to do to do? There are 11 points back on New Jersey. New Jersey is a point back on
Carolina, Carolina, two back on Philadelphia. Philadelphia is four back on Pittsburgh Pittsburgh,
two back on the islanders, the islanders, three back on the Rangers. The Washington capitals
are running away with this thing because they are 18 points ahead of the New York Rangers, sir.
Really? Yes. In the Western Conference in the Pacific Division that has no
Atlantic division. The Edmonton Oilers are 24 points out of first place with their
type of Calgary. Both of them are five points behind the van Coover. Then Coover's one back on Arizona,
Arizona is 15 points back on San Jose. San Jose is one point behind Anaheim and Anaheim is
two back on the LA Kings. So you're three California teams are one, two, three in the division.
In the Western Division. I'm sorry, the Western Conference Central Division that has no Eastern
or Western. What a difference a week makes, sir. You'll understand here in a minute. The Winnipeg
Jets are 30 points out. They are 13 points behind Colorado who is tied with Minnesota. Minnesota
is seven points behind Nashville. Nashville is seven back on Chicago. Chicago is now three points back
on two teams tied for first place. You want to guess who one of them is? No. Your Dallas stars.
I don't want to assume too much. And St. Louis has one six in a row to be tied with Dallas
for first in the division. Really? So things going well. Your Dallas stars holding on. They're
trying real hard. So God bless them. All right, let's get into some movie talk, shall we?
Yes, we've got a lot of movie talk to do this week.
Let me get to where I need to be on that please. Just one moment.
Too much going on here.
As we talk box office numbers, courtesy of our friends at box officemojo.com, dropping out of the top
10 this week. We've got a lot of movement in the top 10. Dropping from 8 to 11 is the
but it's made 179.1 million dollars on a 139 budget. Kung Fu Panda 3 drops from 7 to 12 and
making 136.4 million dollars to do it at EV Eagle drops from 9 to 13 and 3 weeks is made 13.5 million
dollars. It's still about 10 million short of its budget. The witch drops from 10 to 15 this week.
975,000 dollars in four weeks. It's made 22.9 million dollars. Let's get to your top 10.
Dropping from 6 to 10 this week is risen. Two and a quarter million dollars. Four weeks,
32.4 million dollars on a 20 million dollar budget. Dropping from 5 to 9 is God's of Egypt.
Two point five million dollars. Three weeks.
It's got a hundred and forty million dollar budget on its earth. It is made of whopping
twenty seven point three million dollars. Day viewing in eight place, the brothers Grimsby
three point one three point two million dollars. I don't have a budget on that. But it is being
labeled as Sasha Baron Cohen's biggest flop of all time. Now to say of all time, I don't think
it goes back about 15 years. Day viewing in seventh, the young Messiah this week, three point four
million dollars. The perfect match day views in six with four point two million dollars.
Dropping from four to five this week is whiskey tango box trot. The new team of
faith bill 4.6 million dollars. Two weeks, 14.6 million dollars, 35 million dollar budget.
See what else has got going on here. London has fallen drops from the silver metal to fourth place
10.7 million dollars, 38.9 million dollars, 60 million dollar budget for that sir. Not a good
sign. Yeah, but it didn't drop nearly as far as I thought it would. Deadpool stays in the bronze
metal position this week. Another 10.8 million dollars, five weeks, three hundred and 28.1 million dollars.
58 million dollar budget. Day viewing in the silver metal this week, 10 Clover Field Lane.
25.2 million dollars. I do not have a budget on that either, but respectable numbers from what I'm
being told as far as forecasting went. So what wound up in first place sir? What haven't we talked about?
Oh, what you put me on this spot like this, you've seen it. Oh, I've seen it.
Huh? Don't tell me. Is there a topia? Oh, okay. Another $50 million dollars.
Two weeks, 142.6 million dollars. Okay, you scared the craft. I know I scared you.
Don says the Brothers Grinsby is a hundred million dollar budget and it made 3.1 this week.
38% on Rotten Tomatoes currently. Don't ever do that to me again. The film you thought I was
talking about? Not even in the top 52. If you want to know what we're talking about,
you should probably subscribe on iTunes. You can listen to the meltdown happen. All right.
So we have a brand new member of the Spider-Man cast, although we don't know who she's playing,
Disney Channel Staples, then Daya. I have no idea.
So do we want to talk to the little war trailer? So this is what we're talking about this.
We might as well. You've opened up this box. The new trailer hits this week with our first glimpse of the Spider-Man.
I am going to defer to you sir. He looks fantastic.
I think it's just a reserving judgment. It's it is the Alex Ross look of Spider-Man. I mean, like I said,
I said that when I saw it like from Marvel's, but I'm just I'm reserving judgment. I'm still not sure
about this movie. Now from everything I've read, people are saying, if you thought of the winner
soldier as a political thriller, you'll think of Civil War as a psychological thriller.
I'm so very excited. I'm looking forward to it. And I think the title is Miss Leading by
calling it Captain America Civil War. This is an Avengers film. I mean, you look at all the
and if you read Civil War, it's kind of not the same thing. It's kind of the same thing. It's the same
premise, but everything that sets it up isn't the same. Right. And I'm telling you two things have to
happen and you know what those two things are because I'm not going to spoil them on the air.
And both of them have to happen. I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to. I'm going to mute the mics
if those two things don't happen, rename the movie. Well, and I'm deadly seriously. The last thing
that you said off the off air, I want to say happened to post Civil War. It was, it might surprise
after it was during Civil War, sir. Because I've also had this verified by other sources. Well,
I just re-read it. I'm in the middle of it. Yeah. But I know what happened. I just read it. And
they're about to do Civil War, too. Oh, Marvel is doing Civil War, too. I just saw and had the other
day for it. Good night. So they could probably time that a little better. And I'd better get a
rogue one trailer. That does surprise me that it hasn't happened already. There better be a rogue
one trailer on this movie because we are, we are allegedly less than a year away from this film
seeing the light of day. We're less than nine months from this film seeing the light. Exactly. And we
have yet to see anything other than that one cast shot. So something needs to get in gear quickly.
Especially with, I mean, I just, I don't care if it's a teaser. I want to see this thing.
IMDB is saying December 16th. So we're nine months and three days away. So there's that.
Announced week before last officially that Daniel Craig is not going to do bond 25,
which that makes you in the immortal words of Murray Goldberg, a moron.
Tom Hiddleston was to throw his hat therein for this. I think Tom Hiddleston would make a great
bond villain apart from the Loki thing. He just has that cool bond villain look to him. Yeah,
but I don't see him playing bond. That's just weird for me because we've only really seen him play
a villain. Well, we're about to not depending on your perspective of it. We haven't seen it yet.
I see the similarities between him and Hank's William senior, but I still see Loki playing a guitar.
And then maybe that's my mental block. I don't know. Or some crazy reason, whenever I see the
see the spots on miles, I don't see warm machine playing a trumpet. It's a fair point.
And boy, did they spoil something big about that in the trailer by the looks of things?
Yeah, that was a surprise that that's in the trailer. Yeah.
Uh, Justice League has its commissioner Gordon and his name is J.K. Simmons. I am one happy camper.
I am in tree. I don't know how I feel about this. I'm intrigued for sure.
Because that's pretty big. That's like J. No, J. Jonah Jamison totally saw that. Yeah.
Commissioner Gordon. I can see it. I can I can I can I can roll with you. All the guy do is
change his hair a little bit. I also read this week that the Aquaman and flash films will not be
ordinary stories. I'm kind of got there going to be part of a bigger arc.
Well, because I mean, think about it. They're not really doing Batman as an origin story. Well, you're
not what you're in. You're introducing Aquaman in BVS. Yeah. You're not introducing the flash, though.
Who else were we supposed to be getting a glimpse of? Cyborg just just is that the only
other one that's as far as I know. Okay. Yeah, because we're we're we're way way removed from
from lantern 12 days or 12 days to BVS. I'm starting to get a little more exciting. Yeah, but I'm
trying to figure out what I'm going to go see it and where you're going to go see it. I know where I'm going.
I don't know. That's definitely. I'm going to go see that the brand new element. Okay. Also,
thanks to friend of the show Dave Scott who brought us some great BVS swag today. So I think
or you may, I don't know if you want to keep it here at the studio until after the move. Yeah,
it'd probably be better that way. Just less for you to one less thing for you to move probably.
But it's just really nice stuff. So thanks Dave. Appreciate you.
Seth Rogan, Evan Goldberg, a great writing duo, but they're working on where's World Hell.
We found him last night. He was an announcer for Edgen Krisho show that totally riks of
awesomeness. By the way, a glowing review from both of us on that show. Yes. If you have the
WWE network, there's only four episodes so far. Go binge them. Absolute comedy. And we'll take
you along. This was whoever thought of doing this needs a raise at WWE. That's all I'm saying.
Brilliant show. And keep them doing this. Don't move them over to booking. Keep them doing this.
Because they have found their niche. All right. So JJ Abrams doesn't
interesting interview the other day. Where he talks about two movies that are still
getting worked on. Where writers are beginning to work. Are you ready? Oh, this is this.
I was actually considering bringing this up in tech corner, but go for it. Half life and portal.
Now I defer to you on this. Is this a good thing? Is this a bad thing? Or is this nothing?
Well, it depends. I mean, it depends on who you got in charge of the script. It depends on how
involved JJ is going to be. He's producing as far as I know. Because he's a he's a self-proclaimed
huge geek. Half life probably has a better, better shot at translating to film because it's got
more of a clear-cut narrative. Whereas portal is just used surviving a test site. That's
basically the long and short of it is that it's just an endurance test. But half life has has a
very intricate storyline woven into it. They're really going to have to flesh out portal to get a
story out of it. It's there. I'm sure it can be found. But I think half life is probably having
has a better shot at translating to film better. There will be cake. Yes. That's all I know about portal.
All right. And if they're going to get, they got to get the original voice of Gladys.
We also found out this week that Stallone has joined Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2,
which just wants you originally again yesterday. Which means we have the reunion of Tango and Cash.
Because we are being told that Kurt Russell is playing Starlowords father, but we don't know
anything about him. All we know is what Yondu called him, rather as they were leaving. Yes.
But Stallone, someone has seen him in costume. And it says it looks a lot like his judge
dread costume. So the consensus so far is that he's going to be another member of the Nova
Cool. That's what it sounds like. Yeah. So, but production is underway, brother. And they
cannot get this film done quick enough. So, I can't wait for the soundtrack. You also realize that
the next MCU film after Civil War is Dr. Strange. And the end of the year. In the fall,
really? They don't have a summer release outside of Civil War. Wow. We were looking at
the map the other day. And in Civil War is barely a summer release. You really count that as a summer
release. It's the first weekend. But that's been the start now. The last couple of years.
The first weekend in May has been considered the start of the summer movie season. Yeah, it moved
from the world they weekend to a couple of weeks before. So, god, Lee, that's because it seemed like we
had like a ton of them last year. I am very jealous of people that are itself by self west of this weekend.
Oh, is that? You've never really done it. The debut of secrets of the Force Awakens, a cinematic
journey documentary this weekend with a full scale, tie fighter outside the theater. Geez.
Now, the bad news is we didn't get to go see it. The good news is, this documentary will be on
the blue right. That was my next question. It seemed like I'd read, read that in the future on the blue right.
I have not heard anybody that's seen it to let me know how it is. No, but it's just going to be on
every copy or is it going to be on specific like you have to buy the target to get that documentary.
That I don't know. I just thought it won't be on the blue right. The no targets got a configuration.
Amazon's going to have one Walmart's going to have one. That's five stars. Like the Walmart cover with
BBA. And you can't see. It looks for the website couldn't find it. The only thing it's there is just the
the Struse Ann cover. The hold on. That's not a Struse Ann cover. Well, the Struse Ann
Struse Ann has covered the one cover that I've seen that I've really liked is, you know, those
individual, once they say they released of the characters holding their weapon in front of them,
they've got to cover words like a compilation of those images around the logo. Okay.
I'm like, that I'll go with you on. We find out this past week that Beetlejuice 2 is a thing,
but then is not a thing. What? Did Burton come lashing out at it or something? No, Burton came
out saying it was happening. And then the studio was like, we don't have any knowledge of this.
And he said, Keaton ends, uh, what don't provide it for both on board. Wow. So do we, I mean,
no, don't do it. So do we seriously eat it? Don't do it. It's been what 30 plus large wide lines.
Don't do it. Yeah. I'm on fire today, sirs. I am, you're going to, I'm out of control.
Um, when is the anniversary of that film? When was Beetlejuice released? It doesn't get me
before after, Peelie. 88. Okay. Let's say it because Peelie was 86. So we're creeping up on the 30th anniversary.
Also, Paramount drops the little prince one week before release. What in the world happened there?
I'm still trying to find out. This is a weird thing. This has never happened before. I mean,
it's on the slate for this week to be released. And then Paramount's like,
we're out. Why on God's green earth? What they do that. It's an animated feature. It looks gorgeous.
It's a classic story. There was, there was one particular version of it that I remember playing on HBO
that I was really, really fond of. And I was kind of anxious to see what this was going to turn into.
Forgot what tomorrow is? Happy early pie days, sir. Happy early. Tomorrow's pie day.
I just got an email from, uh, from a local restaurant about it because they're doing free
pizuki's tomorrow because it's pie day. I mean, we're looking into uh,
scrumptious about that. They, they do specialize. Speaking of things in that area, you see,
you got another, uh, that old blockbuster is being worked on. Really? Well, I'm going to be a
plan to fit this. That little little thing. Okay. If we just, we've were so local on that, just
now. And we're like, why do we care what's going on in the ski times? Nobody knows. Yeah.
Uh, okay, I'm going to go ahead. Sorry. Are we going to address this star trick thing? That's the next
that's why I'm playing this in the background. Okay. Okay. Start trying to get into
re-shoots now. That's a horrible, and adding a cast member. But see, I looked up to cast member
and I came in with what her name is. She's just playing the head of, of Starfleet. It's not,
or of the United Federation of planets. So it's not like a huge thing. But the fact that you're
four months before your release date in doing re-shoots, that's not a good sound. That is kind of weird.
That's, that's, that's really disturbing. And we have news from a Kingsman sequel standpoint.
We have the villain having been announced. It will be one Julianne Moore. That's the good news.
Playing the head of the CIA is exe comes to America. How are you? Barry. Oh,
friend of the show, Kevin Daniels, and I had a very big discussion about this the other day. By the way,
just got an email from the movie brothers. I have a brand new review up at YouTube for 10
Cloverfield Lane. Make sure, you know, that's one of our favorite shows that we've actually
words a link to them from our website. Check out the movie brothers to be our UTHAS. Good friends
of the show. Big fans of the guys. Okay. I see the character that sure right, Agla. How do you say it?
I can't even say it. Agadashalu, who is she? She's playing the, what is likely the president of
the Federation up as a position that has been filled by several actors and characters across the film.
She's an Oscar nominee. Was that Southern Wilder whatever that was? Is that what you got
nominated for? Was seen. Nominated for one Oscar House of Sand and Fog and O3. Oh, wow. That was a
long time ago. Yeah. So it's not the girl I was thinking. No. She would have been way too young.
Yes, this, this, this, this woman was born in 1952. Okay. So, but remember Kurt Wood Smith played
this role like, like, in the, in six. By the way, the Kingsman sequel released it is June 16th
in the next year. That's. So it's getting a summer release. That's her. That's Mikey's birthday.
So good for them. All right. So again, the music new releases in places you get music new releases this week.
Fireway. The brand new faith-based film starring the former Mrs. Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner.
Miracles from heaven comes out Wednesday. This is the Wednesday release this week.
So we missed the screening yesterday. We were all otherwise occupied. Yes. Unfortunately. Also,
the third in the divergent series, a legent releases this week. What do you know about midnight special?
And not just the song. And the TV series, the, the, the TV. So you have to go for writing
in this trailer? No. Let me give you the cast. Adam Driver, Kirsten Dunst, Michael Shannon, Joel
Edgerton Sam Shepard. Are you interested so far? So far. This is a father and some that
go on the road after the dad learns his child possesses special powers. Very interesting trailer
to this. I've never seen the one sheet at a couple of the screenings that we went to. That's what
this is kept catching my eye. Also this week, we talked about the little prints, the bronze,
which is the movie. You'll hear our reviews on later this week with Melissa Rouch and Gary Cole.
And the program. This is something I thought you were really interested in. This is about the
Lance Armstrong thing. Yes. I, I'm definitely intrigued. That's coming out this week. Well,
it's one of those theater and VOD. I think at the same time deals because it's a direct TV
reduction reduction. DVD and blue ray new releases in places you get DVD and blue ray new releases
this week. By the way, this just turned 25 last week. Yeah. How bad do I want a documentary?
Or maybe an unsung Hollywood on this? Gosh. Because unsung Hollywood is back.
So be aware. Watch the one on Johnny Taylor. Joe Johnny Taylor is the first artist ever.
They had to create the concept of the platinum single for him. Really? Yep. First one,
never. Wow. But coming out on blue ray and DVD, this coming Tuesday, the big short.
Great film. Sisters is also releasing this week, which I know you were a big fan of. It's quite
entertaining. He's just talking to Charlotte this today about it. She and I had a little bit of lunch today.
And she said that she's going to try to watch it this week with Hannah. Yeah, she's so that's
the only way she can watch it. She can't watch it with anybody by the Anna. Also seeing
of Oscar nominee some earlier Brooklyn, which released that release as I'm blue ray of DVD this week.
The only best picture nominee I've never got a chance to see. Carol, also for a couple of
Oscars that released this week. And you're not, you're not going to like this. I'm just letting
you know. I'm just telling you now you're not going to like this. Okay. I don't know how to
do. I don't know how to say this. Coming out on DVD and blue ray, this Tuesday.
Oh, why are you doing this to me again?
Okay, okay, you've made your point.
Over the chipmunks the road chip.
NXT's greatest matches. You have been dying for this entire duration of this show to spring that one
or thing, which you know, I didn't queue it up until just now because I was wondering why I was like,
you know what I'm doing it. Why does he not even owe me a copy of the run sheet?
This is why. No, it's because you didn't get here till late. You could still email it. I've been in
the dark the whole time. Now, then I'm going to give you two choices. What do I want to be?
Shout out to Fab. Or do you want this? Neither, neither. Again, shot or stabbed. I like that song.
NXT's greatest matches this week, which has the Curbs Tomp edited out of it for some reason.
They are really against the Curbs Tomp. And the criteria in collection this week does the
Manchurian candidate, the original. Why don't we go from that to this? What does this have to
do with anything? I said because you don't remember the episode where I would just play this
constantly. It's like a choice between the chipmunks or that? Yeah, because that was the
only two songs you have on your own. I'm just saying. I'm a tech corner. Anything that you have this week?
I actually had something in the back of my head, but I think it was about the portal.
Can I send the shout out to those who have been having problems with my connect for my Xbox
one for a while? This is worth mentioning. And the Microsoft store said bring it in. We'll take a
look at it and we'll see what we need to do. Took it to them. They exchanged it out. No questions.
That's no problems. Shout out to the Microsoft store. Also told me they said if you get this home
and you plug it in and it still does not work. If I have to replace the deck, since it's out of
warranty, $125 is what it takes to replace it. That is what I call a good customer. So shout out
to Microsoft for doing it for a hook and a brother up today. One thing I love about the Microsoft
store over the Apple Store, I don't have to go through 19 people before I talk to somebody.
The Apple Store may want to reevaluate the way they do their customer experience.
Because that kind of wears me out. We have a couple of personal birthdays. We probably
thought we'll shout out to. Please do. One Brent Peoples. I was today as a matter of fact.
36 today. Happy birthday Brent. He did put a post on and he's thinking he has a lifticle
from making him put 36 in his age today. Mike my cousin's adopted stepdaughter. Yes. Madison Nicole
Herbert. She turns 19. And coming up later this week, we have two people with the same birthday
friend of the show Lonnie Hart on Friday. As well as friend of the show, Sarah Sheely, the S.J.
Both have in birthdays is coming Friday. And our good friend Daniel, that we miss his birthday
today. Well, I told him we're looking forward to seeing him. Hopefully hearing about three weeks or so.
So can make the announcement yet. We're waiting for all the ducks to be put in a row. But
I thought that'd be worth mentioning. Yes. Awesome stuff. Do you have a list for me? I do indeed.
All right. Let's then get to it. The best. One of them. Let's go.
Every show with a list, and tonight is no exception. Chad go! I kind of had to call well this
together for the last minute, because this has been a really hecked detailed day. It was
something that I saw on God bless the folks that watch at WatchMojo on you two.
One of my favorite channels that they always put some really good lists together. So I got an
of that list and added some of my own titles to it, but they did a list of special effects
films whose effects have aged well. Okay, they have aged well. Fair enough, and they're
known in no real particular order except for maybe when you get down to the last two.
Number 10, who frame Roger Rabbit? Indeed, indeed. You can watch that film today and it still
looks just as fresh and vibrant because they don't do a lot of that in that style because it's
always a CG character and I'd like to see another one or two films like this made that just
rely solely on traditional hand-drawn animation. Number nine, Don, I'm sure you'll back me up on
this alien. Well, the thing about alien is it just, it was a sci-fi film that didn't have to rely
on effects as much because it was more of a psychological thriller but the ones they did use worked
well. Yeah. I mean, you could probably say that about the first two films easily. Fair enough. Alien and
Fair enough. And in the same vein number eight, also by the same director, Blade Runner. Yes,
God Blade Runner has aged well. You and I still differ on that film itself, but visually.
Visually, you cannot deny that it's absolutely stunning to this day to watch. I mean, if you've
got a good Blu-ray copy of that, it's, it's reference material. Number seven, the Lord of the Rings
trilogy. The one from 10 years ago? Yeah. Okay. Because it's like the Bashkios. No, no, no, no.
No, because personally, this is just me personally. I think that the Lord of the Rings trilogy
looks better than the Hobbit trilogy did. Really? I really do. I think that they were, they were
going a little bit too heavy on the outside of Gollum. They were trying to push the digital
actor so hard that it kind of, it kind of lost its realism. Gollum was always constantly a
mind blowing visual. If for no other reason, if you want to put Lord of the Rings on the list,
they get on it just for Gollum alone. Fair enough. Number six, T2. It changed the game. It really did.
It changed the game. I mean, I know that, you know, Cameron keeps coming up on this list.
You're going to see the same people kind of repeat themselves. But after Cameron kind of broke
ground with the CG water tentacle in the abyss, he took that technology and applied it to T2
and did things with it that we had never seen before. Did I tell you my recent abyss story? No.
I said I had a business trip to Vegas and Vegas is about two and a half hours going there
because you're with a jet stream. Some guy, two rows in front of me decides he's going to
punch up the abyss and then gets mad because the movie ended before the plane landed. I'm like,
do you have a watch? If you were flying to LA, then yes, punch up the abyss to watch.
The moron and it was at his first time watching me. I don't know, but he was visibly upset.
Wow. Number five, an American werewolf in London. The thing with the head and the thing
that coming out of it, the wolf thing. Yes. Rick Baker was at the top of his game. And it is one of
the main reasons why thriller looks the way it does because they got the exact same team.
Number four, I'm going a little bit more obscure. Fair enough. But no less impressive.
Have you metal? No. Dragon Slayer. How did they find dragons?
Lair of the video game. Dragon Slayer, the movie. How did they find a real dragon?
I'm still trying to figure out a look. It's where you least expect to find them.
And it's still in the same place that I'm talking about. It's still kind of freaks me out that the
priest that takes him on and calls him unclean beast and tries to get that's the emperor.
That's Ian McDermidd.
Number three, 1982's version. John Carpenter's remake of the thing.
Those effects blow my mind every time I see them. Rob Boteen.
French fry thing they do in Canada. No, that's Poutine. Oh, never mind.
Spent so many sleepless nights trying to get these practical effects right. I think he
had like suffered from full blown exhaustion when the production ended. But the visuals that he
captured and the effects that he's employed in this film make the the prequel that they did in
2011 look tame by comparison. Really? Oh, yeah. I mean, what Boteen did capturing all this stuff in
camera blows away what they were doing with over the top CG in 2011's prequel.
Number two and number one were really hard for me to place. But I gave number two to Jurassic.
The original the original Jurassic Park. Because again, this is how well does it hold up by today's
standards and it's still a glorious glorious film to watch. Number one, I think is going to be fairly
obvious. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Go ahead. Because remember kids,
Chad was running late today, so I don't know what he had, so sometimes I have to cue stuff up.
Hi, did I spell that wrong?
It will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody. I'm going to say,
there you go. There you go. The original trilogy. Gatset about the prequel trilogy.
I mean, he's talking about changing the game. Yeah. ILM did that. I mean, it, it, it, it, it built the house.
It didn't just change the game. It built the house. Agreed? I mean, there are some older examples
that watch mode you're particularly put on there list like Metropolis trip to the moon from 1901.
I remember. Um, and a space I wasn't there, but I remember it.
2001. I was waiting for that. 2001 is space Odyssey. They had on the list.
Closing counters. They had on their list. Uh, and all of them phenomenal films, but nothing
had the impact on effects in general that the original trilogy did. And I'm not talking about
the special editions. I'm talking about the OG OT, which hopefully will be getting on Blu-ray later
this year from Disney. Um, hope it gets to help. If the only way you've ever experienced,
because I know we've got some young listeners out. Indy. Instead of the close name. The only,
if the only way that you've experienced the original Star Wars trilogy is the special editions
that Lucas released in 97, hold onto your hats because when you see what this thing was originally
supposed to look like, when you get a really pristine copy of that with the best sound quality possible,
you'll see why it was so life changing to us in the set. Did you see that, uh, friend of the
show Clay Harrison, um, found somebody had done the trailers? Yes, I did. I didn't realize the
editions. I haven't watched them. And I, I, in particular, have viewed the, the, the, the special
editions. They're the only way I will watch the original trilogy. You owe it to yourself. I mean,
that's one way you can track them down. Uh, is just look that up somewhere. If you really want
to take a, uh, a clinic on how to do a, a perfect special effects film in this day and age.
Honestly, done. There's, there's no, but there's no better example. Anything you could think of
that you would throw on the list of Raiders. I, I thought about that. Ghostbusters.
