I've always found to be a very strange thing
Well, that's where I actually took my what would have been my spring break of 89
The podran no was Vegas. Oh really yeah, um and like I said 89 and I can really see why it would be that way now
Because Vegas has developed so much in the past 20 plus years
That has become more of a not just a gambling destination, but a true vacation destination
I mean, I've been looking forward to going back don't get me wrong because I've got some I got three great friends that live out there
Two of whom I've know one of whom I know since I was 11. I call her my little sister or my baby sister
I've got a couple of friends that live a baby sister Helen lives out there her sister lives out there friend of the show

I just don't see as a spring break thing
Well, maybe the whole beach thing has kind of played itself out
It could make me and maybe it's because I grew up so close to one. Yeah, you know

I've been feeling rather retro here lately and in gaming.
Uh, you know, with the release of record Ralph on Blue Ray this week.
Which we need to see.

I kind of wanted you to do it last night.

I was spending time with the wife.
She's right now to go to her best friend's house.
So we spend the evening.

Uh, and I was messing around with some of the, um, of the old school titles on the TC.
And got to thinking about how well some of the things have aged in the 16 bit era.
A lot of them didn't, but there's a big chunk of them that have held up very, very well.

Got like movies from the 90s that you think.
Man, if I go back and watch, it's just going to look like mud.
And then you, there's a couple of them you'll watch like, wow, it's still, it still holds up.
Well, fiction, Jurassic Park, that kind of thing.
Uh huh.
These are the games that fit into that scene.
Okay.
I'm with number 10.
Um, and there are no particular words.
I just kind of think.

Uh, Super Mario Kart for the Superman.
Can't get enough of it.

And they had to try to navigate a mark.

It came out when I was still working for Funkland.
And one of the reasons why I think this particular one is so important is because it gave us our first real.
Downloadable content type experience because if you had Sonic and Knuckles in any past Sonic game,
you connected them together and Sonic and Knuckles unlocked content that were really.
Yes.
Did not know that like it put Knuckles in Sonic 1 and Sonic 2.
That's phenomenal.
I think it even did something with Sonic Spinball.
If I'm not.
I'd love to be some Sonic's member.
As did I.
But it kind of opened a door for, for, for content development.
Uh, next one is how good Lord.
NBA Jam on either one of the 16 bit.
Yeah.
All good Lord.
How many hours of my life got sucked away by this thing.
And in the same thing.
One of the very few games that I preferred the, um, console version of the arcade version.
Because it was just, it was just comfortable.
I was wondering what this is going to kick in.
Well, I had to finish the theme song version.
Um, obvious choice here for me.
Because I was, I had such a love affair with this game.
And when it hit consoles, particularly the Super Nintendo,
it opened up a whole new world for me with Mortal Kombat 2.
Ah, yes.
Probably the best arcade to home translation of its kind of do that point.
They nailed it.
As badly as they fumbled, as badly as Nintendo fumbled,
the first Mortal Kombat by completely sanitizing it.
Yeah.
They knocked this thing out of the park.
And I just thought it was kind of funny that you had to actually put in a code.
Take it all the blood and go on the Genesis version when they had no problem with it.
The first time around.
Um, next one.
I'm sure you'll agree with me here.
Aladdin.
Didn't enjoy it.
I, it's, I always think of the Aladdin, especially the Super Nintendo.
And I remember, I worked at Toys of Us.
And we may have told the story on this show.
Uh, it's the only video game when I worked at Toys of Us in over two years
that we ever took back from something.
Usually once you opened the video game, that was it.
You could not return it.
Right.
But this kid beat it in a day.
The Super Nintendo version.
Yes.
Yeah.
Because I don't think he would have been with the Genesis version.
It goes to completely different games.
And, and it was like, the leader of the leader of that department.
I was like, you took that back.
She's like, and he beat it in a day.
I felt bad for the kid.
One of the things I thought was kind of odd was that Capcom did the Super Nintendo versions.
And David Perry, they got a good cool spot.
Oh, I love that game.
He's the one that did Aladdin.
He really, who later did Earthworm Jim.
Ah, yes.
But they, they have a very similar style.
If you listen to it and plus the music was all done by Tommy Tella Rico.
So they've always, they've had a really good working relationship.
Uh, next one was the pack in with the Super Nintendo Super Mario World.
Oh, yes.
Absolutely essential.
Uh, quickly followed by Star Fox in my opinion.
I remember Star Fox came out.
Was that a launch title for the Super Nintendo?

It was one of those big rollout.
I remember that because we had it on display at toys of us and you.
And you got to play like 45 seconds or something.
Remember had the FX chip.
Yep.
It was like the bit upgrade for the Super Nintendo.
Uh, and you want to talk about blockbuster.
And completely going outside of what you thought the system was capable of.
Donkey Kong Country for the Super Nintendo.
Oh, so great.
God.
It was phenomenal.
And quickly wrapping it up.
A streets of Rage 2 for the Genesis.
It's Rage 2 for the greatest side scroller beat them ups.
I've ever played in my life.

To me, this put double dragon over it's me and paddle it's behind.
So no, um, super Star Wars trilogy.
