It is 701 on the east coast, it is 401 on the west coast.
It is the 30th of July in the year of our Lord 2017. Season 8 episode 3, 406 times this
voice has welcomed you to the Clubhouse podcast. We're excited that you're here. Whether you're
listening live on you stream listening on our archive or subscribe on your favorite podcast app.
I'm glad you're here. Thanks for hanging out with us. My name is Rob by the executive producer of the Clubhouse
podcast and it's our first time back in the studio in the new season. But at least live last week we
were in the studio but then the live show was live in a different way. So we got that going for us
which is nice. I am not alone. Chad not with us this week. He is out on assignment. So we've got a little bit
thinner of a of a group but that's all right. Sitting in Chad's chair hanging out with us is the
official fact checker of this show and the first live show that he is a married man at least in
the studio because we were live last week on our Facebook page for the wedding and a man who is
personally responsible for me losing about 12 pounds of water weight last Sunday evening.
You may know him as fond on go but his mom and even Don Ford who might now have met
and you may call him Don Ford. Welcome sir. Well how much weight did you gain back when you went to
Marjano's and had that I won't either confirm nor deny any of that's I'm gonna tell you something
that was some good you saw what I put on Instagram that was I do not like cheesecake that
she's taking was amazing and they responded to it. They thanked me for my kind words.
Now no shout out to Marjano's that was some good eating good time. I'm a married man love my wife
pay for it. Also joining us is the lady of the house and rounding out so that there's more than just me
and Don talking. She's general welcome back friend. Good evening. You can talk up a little bit.
Talk up a little bit. Yeah. Okay. Just talk nice and loud because I can't give you much more juice
than I got you on right there. Okay. All right so only one correction from last week's episode.
I missed the part in Don's email where you picked the women's match. I said you didn't pick it.
You actually did and you did get it right. Yeah I just I don't know why I missed it in your email.
So you know I picked her real fast because I saw that article on one of those wrestling sites saying
how she's more and the most underrated underused people. So I thought maybe this was her break.
That's my picture. There you go. Yeah. All right so let's get right into it.
Normally we would start with NASCAR so let's start with NASCAR. We are having some issues
with the chat room so if you're on with us live and you pop some of them in the chat room I'm
going to keep an eye on it to make sure the social stream cuts. There's something going wrong
with you stream's website. I don't know what it is. I don't know maybe choose or error it could be.
All right so today we were at the Poconos for the over 10s 400.
Okay. Yeah. Your top 10 finishers in the 24 she-everu-lay starting in 13,
winding up in 10. So we got that back now. Chase Elliott, attorney at law or knows you the
new sheriff in town. I can never ever turn it. In ninth place he started in 15th wound up in
ninth in the number 20 Toyota, Matt Kenseth, Eric Jones started in ninth wound up in eighth in
number 77 Toyota. In the number 19 Toyota. Am I looking at the right race? Yeah I don't recognize
many of these names. Daniel Suarez. Goins up in seventh. Starting in seventh and winding up in sixth
in the number 14 Ford Clint Boer. Brad keselowski in the number two Ford starts 11 and finishes fifth.
Denny Hamlin with some hash browns. He starts in fourth, winds up in fourth. Hash browns.
Yeah. And one over my hammy. Martin Truex Jr. starts in second, winds up in third in the number 78 Toyota.
Kevin Harvick in the number four Ford starts in sixth, winds up in second and winning the race.
Pull the pull. Starting in the pull position wound up winning the race in the number 18 Toyota Kyle Boosh.
This is where people don't know over 10s is like pool stuff, boat stuff.
So a recreational like my jackets, you know, all those little border skis, all that toys for the pool.
There we go. I remember when I had a pool. I got that going for me. All right so let's get
you some point updates. Lord only knows that I can't even keep up with this anymore. How they're
doing this. It makes no sense. Well you take them to the first to the first. All right so let's take
here your top 16 finishers and I believe we'll take the top 18 because those are your odd men out.
And 18th right now the aforementioned Daniel Suarez. He's a rookie. That's why he and Eric Jones
are rookies. He's 359 points back. He has four points behind Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Stenhouse is
only one point behind Eric Jones. So still kind of a tight race as we get closer to the playoffs.
Eric Jones is 32 points behind Ryan Hill Newman. Newman is three points behind Kurt Bouch for
14th. Joey Langiano is 31 up on them. But he is also six points back on the man they called
a stone Ryan Blaney. Seven times seven times seven times seven times seven times seven times seven
times spring cup champion now monster energy. Whatever they're calling it this week. Jimmy Johnson
is in 11th. He is 37 points ahead of Ryan Blaney. Clint Boer is only nine points ahead of him
for 10th. Into the top 10 we go Matt Kenseth and 9th. He is I'm trying to do math here 37 points
ahead of Kenseth. Kenseth is also 21 points behind Jamie McMurray. McMurray is one point
behind Chase Elliott. The seven slot Elliott is 1673 behind Denny Hamlin. Denny Hamlin is tied with
Brad keselowski. They're both 74 points behind Kyle Bush. Kyle three back on Kevin Harvick. Kevin
Harvick eight back on Kyle Larson. Martin Truex Jr. still leads the pack by 85 points.
So in this new grading system if their fourth grade teacher was under 50 years old did they
get two points? I think if you lead a lap and it's an odd Thursday of an even month between 413
and 527 I think there's some kind of a bonus there. I don't know. Ooh someone's going on there.
Say that again. And ends in the letter Y. Take that one. Now one's acting funny.
I think I may have to get to take the air. There we go. They're gonna take our board and have
it cleaned. I think there's some context. But that requires money. Let's see. All right. So
next week we'll be racing on Sunday again August 6 3 o'clock Eastern at Watkins Glen International
Speedway for the I Love New York 355. I wonder what state that's in Montana. Okay fair enough.
I love New York 355 at Watkins Glen International. Yeah it's in Montana.
Okay fair enough. So you got that going for you. And 2. Montana.
There's actually a city called 2. Montana. Speaking of Montana years you had some
family info in that section of the town last weekend. How did they deal with this?
They were not happy when they got off the plane were they? No no no my sister and my mom
my mom and my stepdad Ron. Oh that they were sweating. Yeah and they were not fans of
being at the rehearsal. We have to do it again. Yes we're doing it again.
I'm out here suffering in this too. Well it's all worth it. It was. It was a great day. It was a
great day. You have a lovely family. Thank you. I love them. All right so let's get into some
TV talks shall we? Let's do it. All right let me move this down so I can see what's going on.
Russ I'm hoping that's you in the chat room. I don't know because the chat room is not working.
So if you type something in I'm gonna keep an eye out for you brother. My mom drinks
a pure leaf tea just by the way. Pure leaf is good. I'm one of a gold peak guy.
All right so I was on the way over here and exited and realized I had like two miles
till my car was at a gas and I was like oh I'll just go in and grab some tea while I'm filling
in the car. Welcome to our new segment tea talk. I will say this the reason I wanted to know
where we were coming from was the tea talk. I do I mean I like gold peak because it's one of the
very few unsweet teas I don't have to do anything with it's got a really good flavor it's not too
bitter so okay don't for me. All right some TV news. All right congratulations to unreal
scripted series on sci-fi. They've been renewed for season four. Didn't know they had seasons two
or three. Fans of the flash Tom Felton not returning to the series as a regular this year.
He played Julian and so you got that. He was also in movie Don and I saw recently Megan Levy.
Okay. He was the the guy that had come back from overseas. I said oh he's on the flash.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah. HBO has said that all of the the scripts for the remaining episodes of
Game of Thrones are done. So they're done writing. They're done writing. They said they haven't
they haven't finalized next seasons air dates yet. Remember kids we've only got like five or
six left in this season. There's two short and seasons. Are they keeping them in a fire
breathing dragon proof safe? Oh I'm sure they are. Okay. You sure they are.
Uh season three of true detective seems to still be on the plate. Yeah. What happened? I mean
a person was great second one kind of. Well uh Marshala Ali is going to be starring in season three.
I'll Oscar winner from Moonlight. Okay. So but they haven't given any plot points away.
It's got to be better than season two was. Yeah. Because you got nowhere to go but up right now.
Yeah season one was so good and then two it's like what? Yeah. Maria Bello. Great actress is
going to join NCIS for season 15. Is it an NCIS Hawaii or the mother ship? Okay. The mother ship.
She'll be joining I believe in the fourth episode. Okay. Not a big fan of that show but
I'm going for NCIS Boise and hey NCIS. You never know. You don't know. And apparently
oh I did read this week that apparently Seacrest is going to do the new American Idol. Really?
How is he going to teleport himself or Lord only knows? Because again that man doesn't have enough jobs.
He's actually a clone. It's just you know it's not just Dolly the lamb anymore. So you're going to have
Teddy Perry is one of the judges. Oh Lord. He got that going for me. I mean not to watch it.
And apparently ABC speaking of which it's seeking out somebody for the new season of dancing with
the stars. I mean the guys got time on his hands. Sean Spicer. Oh yeah I heard about that.
Being sought for dancing with the stars. He is that I read a something about him after he got the boot.
If that happens, what will some McCarthy back in the saddle?
Because you know they're going to do something on SNL. And we should be right around the corner from
the four issue the four episode run. They're going to be doing a half hour version of weekend
update. Are they okay? Yes. So when does SNL come back? Is it September? Probably late September
or October? Yeah it's usually after the school year starts. So TV on DVD and Blu-ray this week.
Again we don't have a whole lot to talk about this week. This may be a real short show.
But knowing us every time we say that we run long. We still get to see it and I love you everybody.
The HBO series Little Big Lies on Blu-ray and DVD this week. Also season one of crashing.
Another HBO series which is about a guy that's a stand up comic and he called that. He crashes
on people's couches and things like that. There's the lovely intelligence Irvin who is apparently
seeking out fur balls to feed them. We're just kind of shocking that they weren't making a bunch
of noise. So good for them. Well toothless was in here earlier. But he wasn't making a noise. He's
always like that. That. That. That. That. That. That. That. That. Look at the clock. That. That. That. That.
Like it's two o'clock. You got four hours. So it's two plus four. You are listening to the Clubhouse
podcast. We're normally live every Sunday night. Seven Eastern four Pacific. Season eight is well
underway. Got some cool stuff coming up. Keeps by the channel. We've got some new reviews up. Make
sure you're checking those out at our website, www.theclubhousepodcast.com. Which is our website. You can
do that now. That's okay. The other things you need to know. Make sure you're with our social media
because we got a lot going on on our social media. You can see the video from Don's where we're last
week. Thank you Jen for shooting that. Thank you. Yeah. That was a lot of fun and the color commentary.
It was totally mine and the podcast, you know, knows it's Jen's opinion and not that of the podcast.
Nothing bad. I know. No, it was all good. I just want to make sure that they know I was representing
me. Also, I want to say I got a very nice wallet from Don for doing the way. Not only was it a wallet,
it has a little power bank that fits into the wallet. So if I lose power on my, I just have to buy
a cable because it doesn't plug into my. I'm sorry. No, it says iPhone compatible. I'm like,
it doesn't have the connector. It's so that you can keep you in a hot park longer without you
using your phone battery. That's a fair point. Well, again, I want to thank everybody.
Absolutely. Let me make sure you're following our social media Twitters at Clubhouse show.
Everything else is the Clubhouse podcast. All three words in that order or you will wind up
somewhere else. Let's get into P.O.I. Even the P.O.I. in a long time. Where is it? There it is.
I've got P.O.I. in the list this week because again, Chad's out on assignment. So I kind of had to
get all this thrown together very, very quickly. It's that time of year, kids. Where things were
starting to get all training camp has begun. I just saw that. What was it? Tampa Bay. Next Tuesday,
hard knocks, debuts. It is my Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I thought your Miami was your team. Miami is my
AFC team. Okay. Tampa Bay is my NFC team because I lived in Tampa. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
And when you live in that town, you become a fan of that. So when they play together against
each other once every four years, who do you roof? Dolphins. Dolphins have a seniority. Okay. All right.
And you know, you know where my Buccaneers are, Don? They're on my Buccane Head.
The classics. It's the classics. So NFL talk. Like for real now. I'm sick of all the conjecture
in the office. I feel like this has been a really long off season. Yeah. I'll give you that.
But when we talk about P.O.I. Because P.O.I. is for person of interest. It is a segment we do on
this show where we take a person or an entity and we debate their greatness or lack thereof.
I want a time. I'm sure we've done this before, but we're going to do it again.
I want to talk about preseason football coverage. We're nobody goes to the games because as excited
as I am that football is back in its relevant and we can talk about it, I hate preseason football.
I hate it with a passion. I hate it with a passion of a thousand sons. But you know why they do it.
Because they can. Well, and also it's that, you know, the tryouts for the dig it down to
the fifty three. Yeah. Yeah. But why we have to make such a big deal out of it. Like,
I don't I don't watch it. I do not watch preseason football. I won't do it.
And I get it's like, why is it televised? Why is it a ticketed game? Why can't it just be something
that any fan can lottery it or something or any fan who might not get to go to a full
pay ten box sit wherever want? Let it let it be for the public to get to see because it
doesn't count toward going toward the championship games anyway. Because if you're a season ticket holder,
you're forced to buy it. Yeah, I was going to say you get a, you know, people who have like
the Dallas Cowboys and they get a thing. We'd like you to pay a seat license and then we'd
like you to buy your season tickets on top of it. And they make it by it's ten tickets on a
thing with the preseason. And the thing that's so weird is that you have so many season ticket
holders and they bought the tickets don't have a choice. You ever seen those stands in some of
those preseason games? They're empty or empty or it's the freebie tickets I could get from people
was the here. We'll let you go to the preseason game, which was great for me to get to see a game
because I don't need to be paying, you know, $200 to see a football game. Can't afford it in my
budget. That's in the cheap seats. Yeah, but it'd be nice if it was a chance for some families
that want an experience for them and their kids that couldn't afford it otherwise to get to go
to a real NFL game. And it's not like you're going to just care on the concessions.
But I'll tell you the only game that I'm kind of even a little bit on board with and it's just
just a little bit just a little is the Hall of Fame game. But I think when you when you plan the
Hall of Fame game, it should involve whoever your marquee player is getting in. It should be their
major teams playing against each other. Or you do some kind of a that's maybe when you do your pro
bowl. I just the games don't count, but the injuries do. You understand what I'm saying here?
Thank you, chick, Mickey. Yeah. Does he coin that? Nice to watch from it. They're going whole hog on it.
It's just it wears me out. Especially four of them. Due to and let's get to football accounts.
Because now we're at the point where college is starting before the NFL. You mean the NFL
preseason now? No, before the regular season college starts first. Yeah. So you're already through
two weeks before the NFL plays a game accounts. And if I'm the NFL, I'm taking umbridge with that.
You know, we're the show, baby. You're the show, but they're still getting money for the teams.
And I think that's the mixed marriage of it is is the teams making the money of the owners
are making the money. Even if it's seats aren't used, they've sold them. Why is college doing that?
Because here's the problem. When you look at your local NBC and CBS, right? Let's say we live in
Dallas. We do. So what games do this show here? The Cowboys. All right. When the Cowboys play any
preseason game, it's going to be on. That is true. Yeah. Yeah.
If you channel live or whoever channel, whatever. Now if it's on ESPN, it will still be on
channel 11 or 21 because the FCC has a row at states. If it's your local team and they're on cable,
they have to be shown on regularity. Understand that now. Here's the thing about that. When
they sometimes play those on Saturday night, more often than not, they do. Yeah. And that's the
thing. Why would college conflict? Because the NFL's preseason game is going to be shown over
a college game on that network. But the likelihood of the two ever overlapping is very, very slim,
very slim, especially on the same network. They won't overlap on the same network because what will
happen is, you know, if it's Texas, they'll be shown on the long-horn network or you'll have,
you know, your channel, 21s of the world that are your independence that will carry some of those
games. If there's a local, there's a local conflict. Yeah. Like Texas wouldn't really be a local
conflict here because Austin's three hours away. Yes, I'm you.
Oh, that T.C. Yeah. But when we talk about the NFL, though, you
you kind of have to take a very neutral stance on local coverage because your
Steelers show everywhere pretty much regardless. You're you're you're one of the lucky fanbases
yeah, that you get to watch your team almost every Sunday. Well, not the only
lot of times I have to go to Austin Avenue. Right. But but but more but more often than not.
If you want to compare it to my team, Jacksonville. Yeah. Yeah, we get Miami. Okay. That's not
no. Jacksonville doesn't exist. Okay. But that's the best example. How many Jacksonville games do you
get versus a Steelers game here in Dallas? You know what I'm saying? You're going to get more.
Yeah, exactly. Right. But but the Steelers universally. Yeah. They're they are and I've said this
before and I'll say it again, they're the best travel team in the in the league. Yeah. No, you
you can't go any you can throw a rock in any town and not hit a Steelers fan. They're just
they're everywhere. Yeah. So for you, you kind of have to great on the curve a little bit because
you have more of an advantage than most people do in this category. To go back to the college,
you also have the school year schedule that will affect because of when they can have their
practices, their two days and everything up and until and how many they can have before season
starts and season starting with final exams and all of that that has to be affected too.
In some cases, a lot of times they do that on the road. There are students, especially during
bull season that they'll take their finals on the road. Right. Right. Especially in the advent
of virtual classrooms, but they want to hit that during the bull season. So it's fewer students
involved rather than in some cases in some cases. It depends. It's you're
that you're getting into some minutia there that semantics. It's almost a school by school case.
Now let's now what would you watch? Would you watch the Cowboys Miami preseason or would you watch
a real? I'm watching college. I'm watching college because again, I don't even if it's my dolphins,
I don't like preseason because number one, it doesn't tell me anything. Preseason games are
for the coaches of the team more than anything because they're looking to see who's going to make
the roster and who's going to be at UPS next week. Let's let's call it for what it is.
For the practice squad, if they're lucky. Yeah. Yeah. For me, don't care.
Take me a 53 man roster and let's pull this train out of a station.
Now I will say speaking of backup gigs. I want to send a shout out to a young man. I can't
remember his name on hand. He was going to be the center that he either was or is for the Baltimore
Ravens. Young kid decides, you know what? I'm going to retire because I'm about to go get a
math degree at MIT. Shout out. Yeah. And he actually was a featured speaker. A friend of the show
Phil Mar who is a math teacher. He went to a math teacher conference on a San Antonio. This guy
was a featured speaker at that conference, which was pretty kind of neat. Was this the one that
heard about the brain injuries or was that two separate players? No, I'm sure that that was part
of it because there was a study that came out. They said out of 318 brains that had been donated 317
of them had CTE. Right. And they were saying I just should heard the rumors about somebody's
something with a math degree or how. Yeah, that's he's dead. Yeah, that's probably the same guy.
So I just and I know people in this town go crazy for preseason football. I mean, I used to work in
the sports bar industry. I can speak to this. It's insanity for a preseason. I mean, I mean,
absolute pure insanity. I can't even explain it. And I don't get it. Like I just I want football
the counts. Was it John Urschel? Sounds right. Yeah, sounds right. Yeah. That's why you're the fact
checker, sir. Yeah. So I've spoken my piece. All right, let's move on to a little MLB talk.
And I'm sure I'm still not sure if Russ is in the chat room or not because I'm not getting
anything. We look in the I'm not seeing anything on the social stream either. Russ, if you are
in the chat room, see if you can type something into the social stream because I don't know what's
going on. Why I cannot get the chat room to work tonight. It's very, very frustrating. All right,
so MLB standings. I got them all on one page now. So this is good. American League East
the Toronto blue jays seven games below 500. They are eight games back at first place. They're a
game back on the Orioles. The Orioles are three and a half back on my Tampa Bay raise Tampa Bay,
a half three games back on the Red Sox Red Sox now a half game back on the Yankees. The Yankees
are eight and two in their last 10. They're starting to come on a little bit in the AL Central.
The Chicago White Sox 12 games below 516 and a half back. They are six and a half back on Detroit.
Detroit is three and a half back on the twins. The twins are three and a half back on the
royals or royals now two back on Cleveland. Let's not start playing Major League just yet. It's
all I'm saying. Still early. Oh, real fast. It was a 110 out of 11 NFL players. That's what I
knew it was all but one. Yeah. Yeah. It was all but one had traces of CT. And in the ALS,
the Oakland A's, they are 14 games below 500. They're 23 back. So they're getting close to being
on out of it. They are five back on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles County,
California, America, North America, Earth Milky Way. They are a half game back on your Texas
Rangers. By the way, congratulations, Adrian Beltrade got his 3000th hit today. We could do a sidebar
real fast. What about that guy getting kicked out from moving the batter's box? That's Adrian Beltrade.
Same guy. Yeah. But I mean, I don't care anymore. Like if the rule is you're standing in the circle,
you're standing in the circle. But if that's what he always does and nobody said anything to about
it, I get that too. Yeah. But he moved the circle. Yeah. It was dumb. Yeah. Whatever.
Rangers are a game back on Seattle. Seattle is now 16 and a half games back on Houston.
Houston is running away with this division. I still can't get used to
your AL West Houston Astros. In a couple of years ago, they were the, you know,
America's favorite game show or they are not tonight. Oh, wait a minute. No, no, no, no, go back.
Go back, please. Go back. Thank you. I need to make sure I know who is America's favorite game show
tonight. Okay. All right. Cool. It's the same. Same one. All right. National League West,
the San Francisco giants who will be America's favorite game show again tonight. They are 25 games
below 500. They're 33 and a half back. So I think they're a magic number for being out of
it's like 20. They are seven and a half back on the Padres, the Padres. They would have to
make a move because they're 12 and a half back on both Arizona and Colorado. They are 13 and a
half back on Misty's Beloved Dodgers. Dodgers 73 and 31 right now. Wow. Is that the best in the
league? I believe it is. Yeah. So they can go five hundred. Houston's five games behind them.
So in the NL Central, the Cincinnati Reds are 14 and a half back and they're 17 below 21 below 500.
They are a seven and a half back on your beloved Pittsburgh Pirates. Your boys are four games below
500. Six games back in the division. By the way, you've lost four in a row. I know that we had that
streaking when they swept Milwaukee. You went and got married and ruined that. That's right.
You're a game and a half back on front of the show. Johnny Anderson's beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
The Cardinals are two back on those Milwaukee Brewers. That's not crown him yet. It's the Brewers.
Yeah. They're going to choke it. And the Brewers two and a half back on the Chicago Cubs who
are trying to get the wheels on the thing. Marcus's beloved. And in the only division that
matters, the NLEs, the Phillies are 26 games below 500 and they're 23 games back. They are nine and a
half back on my beloved Braves who by the way also have lost four in a row. The Braves are a half
game back on the Mets. The Mets are a half back on the Marlins. My Marlins are still 12 and a half
back on the Nationals and they're trying to beef up that bullpen. By the way, before we get into
America's favorite game show, let's go the opposite direction. The best run differential in the
league right now belongs to Misty's beloved Dodgers at plus 184. That's putting runs on the board,
sir. All right. Let's get into America's favorite game show and that game show is what is the
run differential for the San Francisco Giants? I still haven't seen anything in the chat rooms. I
don't know if Russ is struggling to Russ. I apologize, brother. Don't make it cast for Russ.
No, Russ. Okay. Yeah. Russ knows what he's doing. All right. So, Don, what is the run
differential for the San Francisco Giants? I'll say negative 120. Negative 120, Jen. Negative 125.
You're both over. Ooh. The San Francisco Giants 40 and 65. That is a 381 win percentage. As
previously mentioned, they're 33 and a half back in the division. They're 22 and 29 at home.
They're 18 and 36 on the road. They're four and six in their last 10. They're on a two game
losing streak. Their run differential right now is a minus 115. Oh, that's close. So,
there's that. All right. What happens if I ever get it right? You'll be celebrated.
They get a thousand dollars in pocket. I think it was Chad got it right. Yeah, the last
week or two weeks. Yeah, something like that. By the way, what is in a quick shout out to
friend of the show Patricia Nichols? I'm getting to a point where it's about time for me to get
a new laptop because my laptop's about to die. And I'm seriously considering the Microsoft
surface book. I'm kind of sold on it. She has a surface and she's kind of let me borrow it to
take it on a test drive and see some of the things that can do. So, I want to thank her for doing
that for me because we're using it for some on the spot research. So, thank you, Patricia. That's
nice. All right, let's get into music talk. All right. And we only have one thing to talk about,
but it's kind of a big thing. Oh, okay. This Bieber story.
As you may or may not know, Justin Bieber has canceled every date in the rest of his tour,
including here at the stadium last night. The reason he is canceling the rest of the tour,
there's a bunch of different versions of it. Let me give you the real version because people
were saying he's starting his own church. Not true. People were saying he just wanted to relax
and write his bike possible, but not the whole reason. Apparently, from the things I have read in
the research, I have done. He has become fairly embedded into a church known as the Hill Song
Church out of Australia. Now, it is well documented on this show that I am a man of faith is
well documented on this show that I know a couple of things about a couple of things when it comes
to praise and worship music. For those of you that don't know who Hill Song is,
Hill Song is one of the largest praise and worship churches in the world. They're located in Australia.
I am of the opinion that Hill Song is the Wu Tang clan of Christian music because there's like
180 of them. And to say you're going to see Hill Song is like saying I'm going to Europe
because there's so many different versions of me. You have to be specific of who you're going to see.
I am a casual fan of Hill Song. There's people that swear by everything Hill Song does.
I'm not going to judge you. I'm not a huge fan. I don't know if I'm not the right demographic
for it, or it's just not great praise and worship music to me. There's better stuff out there
in my opinion, but they've got a lot of money behind them and they're huge.
Up until this story, I've kind of kept them at arms length. Do you, as long as you're saving
souls, who might have said something? But apparently he has gotten in real, real tight with the
lead pastor at Hill Song. And there are those within the organization that, of course, anonymously,
who are using the phrase, he could become the Tom Cruise of the Hill Song Church.
This is where this concerns me. Yeah.
If he truly is getting his head straight and getting himself together, go do you, brother.
Yeah, if it's going to make him up, it's going to make you less of a deplorable human, go for it.
I'll give props for that. I don't want the connotation of what people are saying to be what it is.
That's my only concern. Jumping on a chair because I'm in love is not what we want to say.
So I will be monitoring this situation fairly closely, not from a negative aspect.
I'm going to be as objective as I possibly can because faith is faith. And this is a Christian
organization. So I will be watching it. And if I see anything that throws up any red flags,
I'll be more than happy to report on it. But this is from what I've read. This is the most
accurate story that's out there right now. Now, when you mean by the Tom Cruise, you're kind of saying
he's doing this more for the... Well, you know how Tom Cruise is the face of Scientology.
Yeah, it's exactly. Good, bad, or indifferent. Yeah. They're saying that this has the potential
for him to be that face of Hillsong. Which, everybody will get to know Hillsong. They're using
it. They already know who Hillsong is. If you go to church on a regular basis, you've heard that name
thrown around at least once an hour. This is... I know this is probably part of a bigger outreach
for Hillsong and God bless them. It's still... It kind of ukes me out on a certain level.
Like, I'm not at the point where like, I'm not listening to anything related to Hillsong ever again.
I'm not one of those guys. Everybody has their own thing. I just really hope that there is a level
of cautious stepping going on here. You're hoping it's not doing it just for the publicity that
it doesn't become the Church of Bieber. Yeah. That's what I'm worried about. That this isn't just
a publicity stunt that this is actually for the right reasons that he's found something to bring
him peace and become a better person for. All for that. Absolutely. And this is my thing.
I mean, if you've seen those things on A&E about Leah Remy and the... My wife's watched them all.
So by. So by. I just... I just want to make sure that we've got this going for the right reasons.
That's my hope. And we will be monitoring this situation very, very closely. And if anything,
some of it comes up it, we will let you know. But he canceled all the shows because of that incident
with a photographer. No, no. He canceled them all because he wants to focus on this Hillsong thing.
That's why he canceled the rest of the tour. He wants to focus on his faith and where it's
had it is what it sounds like. That's the deal. You know, okay, let me, let me, let me get on this one
thing for a second here. Please do. My niece, who lives in Montana,
went out to Pittsburgh to see my dad and stepmom, his grandpa, you know, a step grandma.
Specifically took a trip and booked a trip and all that so she could go to the Justin Bieber concert.
I said, Jayley, everybody has their faults. That's yours. Right. But the thing is,
him just cancelling, I think that is, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. There are, you know, people like,
he was, he was scheduled to be a Jerry world. Yeah. Yeah. Last night at Jerry world. Okay. So you
got to take all those people who had playing tickets to travel, played scalper prices. You name it,
you, where they're you in line. The people that were scheduled to work, who worked at the stadiums,
who can put some money in their pockets because they're doing concessions or security or ticket
takers, all that. Oh, and the other part of this, I'm not glad you said that. There are also
stories circulating that his tour crew didn't know until the internet did. Oh, that's wonderful.
And so they're saying that the, they felt left high and dry and the statement from his camp was
kind of not our problem. That makes me wonder the going from secular to non-secular and
what all the repercussions are that are being faced with that. That's what, that's putting the
hurt. Many times I said they should deport him. You know, the economy's already messed up enough.
We really have to, you know, and I'm by no means a beaver fan. But let's help the economy.
Let's not cancel the tour. Let's, well, honor your agreements. I mean, he can be sued on that
thing. Oh, I'm sure he can be. And I'm sure he will be. He will be. I mean, it's understandable.
They have in the contracts where if you have a medical emergency, like your parent dies or something
and, you know, or you're in the hospital or your wife's in the hospital or something,
I can understand everybody can understand that. But it's happened many times in the past,
even to like McCartney, but still they come back and play the shows at different time. Absolutely.
All right, music new releases in places you get new music new releases this Friday,
Brett Eldridge is back with a self-titled album. Dan Wilson, who you might remember as the
lead singer of semi-sonic, has a brand new album coming out this week called Recovered.
In a, in a band name that I've only heard of recently, it's only a designer mystery skulls,
releases one of us, new album from Randy Newman. This week, I love Randy called Dark Matter.
And one of my personal favorites, third day, brand new album this week called Revival.
So you got that going for you. You're listening to the Clubhouse podcast. We're live every Sunday,
night, seven Eastern for Pacific. If you've missed any section of the show, it's going to be on
the archive on you stream or make sure you subscribe on your favorite podcast app because you get all
kinds of stuff that our live crowds don't necessarily get. So check that out. Also this coming Saturday,
I'm going to be out at a place called Red, not the Red Rocks, but a place called Red Rocks.
Up in the north side of Dallas, the team, Boobalicious, we'll be having another fundraiser to help
research for breast cancer. And there will be a gobo's appearance. Is that Doc Doc?
And the boys are playing this coming Saturday. I believe it's a seven to eight show.
It's going to be a little bit more family-friendly than what you might be used to from them because
it is a fundraiser. But come on out. We're going to be out there hanging out, seeing the boys,
because I don't ever miss a gobo show, because you know, I love those boys. I think it's
together like once every blue moon. So looking forward to seeing the boys and seeing
doing some great music and all for a great cause. I'm going to be there for doing that show.
Second year in a row. So come on out, hang out with us. So we're going to have some
information for that on our social media. And you'll see us there. Come say hello because we love
hanging out with the Empire. To help out for charity, that's cool. It only has to be nice
at the next pick. But yeah, Doc kind of just dropped it in the door. By the end of the last
paper, we were like, wait, wait, what? What? All the faces. Yeah. And that's where's the thing that's
who I think it's doing. And then he said because he hates him so very, very much.
Oh, the Doc and I like that story. Yes, yes, yes. All right. Speaking of which, let's combine sports
and entertainment and talk a little pro wrestling. Oh, where to begin. My sister is not going to
be happy. Why now? By the way, I got to see she was at the concert last night. It's like
it's here. She said she had a great time. If it's one thing that my sister, Charlotte,
just drives her crazy in WWE. It's when they do the draft. It very much stresses her out.
She does not like it. Well, get ready because we're going to another superstar shake up after
summer slam. That is the rumor right now. Well, what was it? It's an officially the drafter.
Was it just the trade? I mean, what was the last time the trade?
Was I think last time it was the trade that they did. Now, this is cool. The superstar's
shake up is when they were doing that. Oh, we're just going to move this person here.
Move this person. Okay. So it's not a full blown draft, but it's like a mini draft. Okay.
So is this going to be a draft or another shake up? Is it a shake up is what I'm reading?
Okay. All right. The now we're saying that the Ric Flair 30 for 30 is going to air in November.
It's been pushed back again. But I am reading no narration. It's all going to be done via interviews.
Okay. So that ought to be interesting to see. Red today that the Edge and Christian show of
awesomeness may not be returning for season two. You like that. I enjoyed that very much. Okay.
And apparently they said they've shot about half of it and it's not going to make it. Okay.
And our truth game show has been reportedly canceled on the network. He was going to be doing a game
show, but he is recording new music. Okay. So you got that going. What's up? What's up?
All right. Just a couple. I've got one note on each show. That's how bad the programming was
this week. Oh, boy. Um, remember when Enzo said in his promo how it's the people in the arena
that get his engines moving? And then what? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I had this weird thought. I was like,
this big cast going to come out here and demand an empty arena match.
We've done it before. And it didn't work then. Was that the rock and
and make where make put the the the the the the palette jacket on top? It was like half time,
hardcore half time. Yeah. And they went backstage and then they throw con candy each other and they
fall on the ground because I can't hear what con can. Well, you know, speaking of which,
rock did an interview this week where somebody asked him about how he constantly oversold the
stunner. And he revealed why he did it. Why? Apparently he and Austin were betting cases of
beers against each other about how oversold the rock could do this. Motivation. So that's why
he would oversell it all the time. I remember that when I saw that rock, uh, stone cold,
that WrestleMania 17 in Houston. God, God bless that because when you watch that work of like,
I mean, there were times I'm like, how does he do this without laughing? I know because he
like fell and went on his head and we get some rope to kick down. It's like, oh, lord. And now,
I'm Austin couldn't. Yeah. Cause I can't just straight face. Yeah. I know. I mean, God.
That's all I got for raw. Alberto El Patron is suspended by GFW currently currently. Now,
allegedly, the, what I've been reading is that the charges are going to be dropped against him,
but still they're suspending him. Right. You know, because he basically, yeah, there was a thing in
a DSL. Well, he didn't have them wrong, but of course, the police had to rest. Everybody involved,
you know, covered right themselves. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's terrible. Yeah. So I mean, it's who knows.
I mean, I mean, I know that it's good to have a policy on that. But let's say you are found
innocent. Do your job back. Cause I know if you get arrested, see you later by, you know,
to public opinion. Yeah. And unfortunately, it's in the public opinion. It can ruin a reputation
that didn't deserve to be ruined. And sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't. And I don't know if you
know this Davey Richard story or not, what happened? He has been granted his unconditional release
from GFW, but he hasn't really been featuring Devert. This was something he chose to do. They gave
him an unconditional release. He's going back to finish medical school and become a doctor.
Best of him. He's already a paramedic. Really? Yep. That's nice to hear. The baby daddy of one
Angelina love also. Okay. All right. So even though I love the American wolves and I
see him broken up still, but I get it. And it's God bless him. Magnus was offered a contract
with GFW and turned it down. Well, he already went to that. There was no real challenge to it for him.
I wonder how much they all. Well, he had to look what they went through. No, I'm not
debating it. You know, you've got Maria Kinellis and all these former GFW talents that are
cracking jokes about, you know, it's nice to work for a company where you get paid every week.
Yeah. You know, just saying. I mean, yeah. And Donovan Dijack maybe starting with WWE in September.
The Marvel H. Did you watch our H this week? The women thing. Yeah. Love it. Yeah. Yeah. I mean,
we haven't seen Donovan for a long time though in our H though. That's why he's going to the company.
So. And also read today something I did not know and he didn't know until he read it on the internet.
Kofi Kingston. Very first person ever to hold every WWE tag title.
Okay. The old school. Yeah. The raw and the smack now. Okay. So best of him.
Mazel top. Yeah. Only one note from Smackdown live.
It's probably you have that many. I like that they're doing the split screen.
Like they'll go to commercial and they'll have the split screen where they'll show the match going
on. But when you come back, why do you do a during the commercial thing? You watched it because it was on.
It's not on radio. It's on TV. And why don't they do that on every break?
Where there's a match going? See, I don't know what the deal was there. I wonder if there's some
sponsors that they'll that are okay with it. They do it on Smackdown, which I think is like you're
saying, good deal. But it's the first match where they go through a break during that match.
It's the one they do after that. Well, no, they did one in the second hour too.
Today. Okay. I don't know if it's sponsor specific or network requirement or what,
but it was just weird. It's like during the commercial break, I know you showed it.
Yeah. Well, it's just like if we earlier tonight, earlier tonight, right before the break,
right before the break. Oh, I hate that. You know, I can't stand that. You know,
that just stress me insane. On this pay-per-view, earlier on the pay-per-view,
earlier on the pay-per-view, you're up for the last match on the pay-per-view.
Got that going for us, or do we? All right. Let's do one quick in memoriam.
Russ, that me two or three this week, but this one really more than anything kind of got to me.
Um, and Don, I'm going to say a name. I'm going to see if you know who this is.
Okay. If I say the name June foray, does that mean anything to you?
Rocky and Bullwinkle. That is correct. Well played. She passed away at 99 this week.
She was, she did a lot. She did Rocky. She also did Boris and Natasha. Oh, did all three. Okay.
She did Lucifer from Cinderella. She was Cindy Luhu in the original Grinch.
She was Jokey Smurf and on Smurf, and she was Granny on the Warner Brothers cartoons.
With Sylvester and Tweety. Okay, really. Oh, really?
She also did one of the gummy bears voices in that series.
She's, I mean, that's a lot. Yeah. It's someone worth researching and learning more
about what an amazing addition to our childhood she was.
She was instrumental in the creation of the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2001.
She was born June 18, 1917 in Springfield, Massachusetts. So she was just about to turn 100.
She is one of three children. Her mother was of Lutholanean Jewish and French Quebec ancestry.
And her father was a Jewish immigrant from, from Russia.
Her, her, her, her voice was first broadcast in a local radio drama when she was 12 and by 15,
she was doing regular voice overwork. This is one of those, like you, you can go all day on the
things that this woman has done. You know, she's, she won a daytime Emmy Award for the Garfield show
in 2012 for an animated program. She's got two Annie Awards for the Sylvester and Tweety
Mysteries as well. I mean, I mean, I mean, you're just going through an Emmy like at age 95.
Is that like the record for the? Oh, it's got to be. Yeah, I mean, I'm, I'm still scrolling through
all of her stuff. She worked steadily. I mean, her last gig was in 2014 for a direct to video
short that was supposed to be with Mr. Peabody and Sherman that didn't make it. Her last live action
was in 2000. Her last television, I mean, I'm scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling.
The loony tune, she played grainy on the, on the reboot of the loony tune show. She also did a
bunch of the video game work for, for Disney and for Warner Bros. And if you want to work and
you're willing and you're able, there's no reason you shouldn't be. She loved what she was doing.
So one of my dream jobs is voice overwork. My dream job is to figure out what my dream job is.
That's fair. So our best to her family friends and her fans around the world.
We'll be missed. Absolutely. Without a doubt. All right, that being said, let's get into movie talk,
shall we? All right. Look better, say a way for that. It was someone who was big in the industry.
All right, let's go to box office numbers. Boy, we are running way ahead of schedule tonight.
We'll take it. Just good because I did a lot of, I was feeding the machine last night.
Has it worked because I was at the Nickelback show. It's the name of their new album.
And I did a lot of screaming last night. Hopefully you enjoyed.
It was. It was very good show. A group called Shaman's Harvest opened for them.
Kind of a saliva meets the cults kind of a thing. Very much enjoyed their set and found out that
their drummer passed out from heat strokes shortly after the set. They did a really good cover
of dirty Diana kind of meddled it up a little bit more. And they did a song where they segwayed
into it after doing the first verse of Behind Blue Eyes, which I thought was really, really cool.
Dottry was the middle. Always great. It was a little, little disturbing when he said our next song was
the first song that we gave you back in 06. And you realize he's been doing this for that long.
Nickelback came out, played it to play two hours and 15 minutes.
Pretty much rolled out the hits only did two songs off the new album, which was impressive.
So you were, this was a Starflecks, right? Yes, sir.
Now we on the lawn or in there? I was on the lawn. Okay.
With a friend of the show Phil Maher bought me a ticket from my birthday.
And Dave Scott and his wife came out and sat with us. And like I said, I saw Charlotte and a friend of hers
for the show. Packed. Joe was packed. It was packed. Oh, yeah. Starflecks. Oh, wow.
And we had a nice breeze that came through. It wasn't as nearly as hot as I thought it was going to be.
But I didn't realize how thirsty I was until we got in the car. It took us forever to get out of there.
But that's why my voice sounds a little froggy today.
So there's that box office numbers dropping out of the top 10 this week. Only one
movie that I can see is dropped out of the top 10. And it is the big sick dropping from 8 to 11.
3.4 million dollars six weeks 30 and a half million dollars. They're going to be okay.
Because there's no way the film costs that much. It's a great independent film and you need to go see it.
Oh, let me take it. Just take a breath here. Okay. Okay. Big sick, by the way, iTunes is exclusive $2.99.
Dropping from 9 to 10 this week, Wonder Woman. By the way, I did get your message. I haven't I haven't watched it yet.
So it was a cute little funny. And I have heard officially that two is at that might be on the run sheet.
Might be on the run sheet. You mentioned Wonder Woman. I get excited.
$3.5 million this week, nine weeks, $395.4 million. They'll be okay. Yeah. That's they've more than
cleared the double amount from the budget. So that's good news. Baby driver drops from 7 to 9 this
week, another $4 million, $5 weeks, $92.1 million, $34 million budget. Loved it. I will own that film.
Understand it. Because I can't wait to listen to it in my home theater system.
Valerian in a city of 1000 plan 1000 planets drops from 5 to 8. This film is taking a bath.
$6.8 million, two weeks, $30.6 million. This was a $177.2 million budget.
What's the total? So far, 6, 6, 30.
Despicable me up from down to 7 from 6. Charlotte and I saw this last weekend. And I loved it.
Although I had taken a little survey from AMC today and the only thing I told them I was
severely disappointed was by the behavior of the other people in the theater. I know it's a
kids film and kids are going to talk. But when the parents are talking to the kids are in the film.
Not saying the exam. Yes. But despicable me. I don't know. I almost wish they would have adults
only viewings of these. Yeah, but they're still idiots. Alamo. The adults are still idiots.
Alamo will do something. I don't think they had it though. $7.7 million, $5 weeks, $230.5 million
on an $80 million budget. I enjoyed this film. And Steve Carl says he believes this will be the last one
he does. Unless it's for like another million. So he's not going to do grue again. War for play
of the eight drops from four to six. Another $10.4 million, $3 weeks, $118.7 million, $150 million
budget. I saw that last night. What do you think? I liked it. I really did. And we made a lot of,
you know, a lot of it's going to spave the way if they do another one and all that. But it was
good. Harrelson did incredible. I was impressed. I'm looking forward to seeing. Yeah. I've got to
take Kelly Kitchen. She got tickets for me and Faith. Could we love Kelly? Yeah, we love
her. I love her. She loved it too. She loved it. Spider-Man Homecoming drops from the
bronze medal to fifth place, $13.5 million, $4 weeks, $278.4 million on a $175 million budget.
So you're still creeping towards that, making your money with the marketing back. Atomic blonde,
debuts in fourth place this week, friend of the show Jim Brago wouldn't saw that this morning and
could not say enough good things about it. Done by the guy that did John Wick. I want to see
this. I'm hitting the things. $18.6 million on a $30 million budget. This was opening weekend for
that. Bronze medal this week goes to girls trip down from the silver medal. Friends of the show,
the movie brothers have seen it. Their review is up on their YouTube page. I will say you might be
surprised on how they felt about this film. I was surprised. So it made $20.1 million, two weeks,
$65.5 million, $19 million budget. So it's making its money. $19 million with that cast. I bet 18 of it
went to Jada. The emoji movie debuts at the silver medal because we needed this. $25.7 million
$50 million budget that's opening weekend. So I saw this trailer and was like, oh my god,
this is a thing. Yeah. I mean, not to see it. And winning the weekend again, a movie that is
polarizing critics and viewers are like Dunkirk, another $28.2 million, two weeks, 102.9 million
dollars, $100 million budget. We'll probably see that pretty soon. It's under two hours. Yeah.
So I'm going to be, I do want to see this, but I'm telling you, people are loving it or they're
hating it. There's no middle ground with this film. It's very, very interesting, especially for Chris
Nolan. So all right, let's get into some movie headlines. I don't know why this is doing what it's
doing. Let's just do that instead. Bond 25 is set November 8, 2019. Daniel Craig is in. So he's
in. It's happening. Yeah. We don't know anything else about it, but we know that. Wonder Woman 2,
as you alluded to earlier, is now set for December 13, 2019. So about five weeks after Bond 25,
you'll get Wonder Woman 2. They haven't said what they're doing with the script yet. They're
kicking around some ideas. I'm hearing rumors that they might fast forward to the 80s.
That could be fun. I mean, anything, it's going to have to fast forward because the show did,
the comic did. It, you know, there's a gap in the history of the life. I'm just so excited that
people are on board and they're green lighting this. A real quick of the emoji movie.
8% on Rotten Tomatoes. Really? That's surprisingly high. So Don, I know you were a fan of the Olympus
has fallen. Yeah. You were the only one of the three of us that got to go to the screening of that.
You missed that one. We all enjoyed London has fallen. The third one is on deck. It's going to be
called Angel has fallen. Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman both signed. Okay. And what it's going to
be is it's going to be terrorists coming after Gerard Butler's character himself coming after
banning and he'll be the target as he's on board Air Force one during flight. That's your plot.
Okay. I could see it. Get off my plane. Yeah. Get the snakes off my plane.
Also read this week CCH Pounder who I am a huge fan of from her work both on the shield and as
the one of the voices for Justice League. She is returning for the thunder smurf sequels.
Oh no. She's coming back. Speaking of thunder smurfs. What about thunder smurfs? You know what?
We're going to talk about that later during the list. But real quick, I've done Kirk is at 93 on
right now. I'm telling you it's polarizing. I'm telling you. Bigs B bear is at 85. We can't talk about that yet.
I know, but we can't talk about it. I know. We talked a few weeks ago about this Barbie movie that
was going to start. Oh, what? Schumer. Oh god no. Schumer out and half the way may be in.
Barbie as a Barbie who is shunned. Yes, live action. What? She lives in this world with all the
Barbies and she's different from all the Barbies. So she's kind of shunned and she's kind of
down on herself. But then she gets into the real world. Kind of enchanted kind of a thing.
I'm thinking we have some people who've already like plastic surgery themselves enough to be cast in
just saying also in the next M night. Shaman. No, no, no, no, no, no. Moving. We do. We know will be the
pseudo sequel to split. It'll be called glass. Sarah Paulson joining that cast. I'm a big fan of.
So she said the hardest part I've written or interview because you know, she was up for playing
Marsha Clark in people versus O.J. Simpson. She said the hardest part about playing that role
was learning how to write with her left hand because Marsha Clark's left hand didn't she's not?
Oh, really? So yeah. Moving you releases in places you see moving you releases this week.
Get ready. The dark tower is headed your way.
I'm interested in that one. Barely 90 minutes long. Oh, really? That's it. But remember,
this thing's going to be franchised. Okay. So be prepared for that. Also this week,
kidnap. We will be screening that this Wednesday. We'll have a review up by the end of the week.
That's what I have to say about that. Halle Berry. Take care for which pain for it. Well,
I know how much you love her. I like my love for Nicole Kidman, you know. But remember,
we're doing it for the kids and that this is our turn smell. You do it for the kid. You know what,
those are two very, very valid points. It looks like it's a little different than I've seen her
play from what I've seen on the ads and trailers. I've been told it's the same thing she didn't
call. So also this one out Detroit. Don and I will actually, but when you download this episode,
you're going to get our review of that as well. So I'll be ready for you. And a movie called
Columbus with John Cho, Haley Lou Richardson and Parker Posey, a Korean born man,
finds himself stuck in Columbus, Indiana, where his architect father is in a coma. The man meets a
young woman who wants to stay in Columbus with her mother, a recovering addict instead of pursuing
her own dreams. So that's also this week. Nothing really big on DVD or Blu-ray this week.
That wasn't just a re-release. No big, no big titles this week, but Barbie movie scares me.
Hey, she's just a Barbie girl in a Barbie world, okay? Where's Chad's bucket? Life in plastic,
so fantastic. Where's Chad's bucket? Probably tuck it in. All right, this is some tech corner stuff.
So with the success of the NES classic, Atari's back, but not just as a retro console.
They announced this week the Atari box. It's going to have four USBs, SD and HDMI ports.
There will be one that you can get in a woodmrain to look like the original Atari 200 or
you can get a black and red one. It's going to be able to do classic games and current games.
Now my question is a classic and current, is the Donkey Kong going to be like the Donkey Kong
we got on 2600? I'm not taking any questions. There's all I know. All right.
I re-listen to Audible's Ready Player 1 this past week, and so of course it's like any of the
I'm reading the book currently. Yeah, this is like the second time I've listened to it,
third read of it. Who reads it? Do you know who reads it? Will Wheaton. Will Wheaton?
So if you know anything about Ready Player 1, there are kick-outs to start-up next-generation
Ann Will Wheaton, and you can hear him try not to get tickled reading his own name.
He does a really good job with both the Ready Player 1 and then Armada.
Is that a sequel book or is it a different book? It's an Ernest Klein.
Similar concept, same author. Okay. And Walmart has canceled all pre-orders for the SNES classic.
Apparently Nintendo did not learn their lesson from the NES classic, and this thing
fully self-contained, not expandable, 21 games. The only upside to it is there's a previously
unreleased Firefox game. Sorry, Star Fox. Okay. So, remind me not to buy it.
Don't buy that. Again, not taking any questions. All right, let's get to the list.
All right, let's do it. This could be the shortest episode we've ever done.
So the list this week, you know, we're a little bit over halfway through the year. My birthday is
the exact midpoint of the year, and so about four weeks after that. You can believe that.
So I thought about it today, and I was like, you know what? What are the top 10 things I'm looking
forward to through the rest of 2017? Because there's some stuff going on kids.
Some of it's going to be local. Some of it's not going to be. So these are the top 10 things I
am looking forward to as 2017 heads down that final stretch. All right. Let me get this caught up.
All right. All right. Number 10. And this is happening very, very soon.
Probably with the next 60 days if my math is correct. The new Alamo Drafthouse in Irving.
Looking forward to it because it's one exit from my job. So if I don't want to deal with traffic,
maybe I go see a movie. It's a greatness of the Alamo. Yes. And they have said that they've
given some hints as to what the theme will be. We can't talk about them live on air.
But if that's what they're doing, I'm totally okay with it. Number nine. And it's going to be
a little bit different this year. So we're going to need to do some planning. We're going to
sit down with the great Kelly Kitchens and figure out how we're going to do this.
Our fifth in a row Dallas video fest. That's my top 10. So you get to see Bart and everybody,
but they're doing it differently this year. So we need to get a meeting on the books with Kelly
and Bart and try to figure out how they want us to do this thing. Because it's not just going to
be a one week stretch, they're actually spacing it out. Like one week and they're going to do
documentaries, one week and they're going to do narratives, another week and they're going to
get they're going to kind of they're splitting it up a little bit this year. So we want to make
sure that we give them everything they need. So get that meeting on the book's worser if you would
please. Number eight. And this one's for you, sir. Oh, the completion of the Gary Marie pedestrian
bridge. Yeah, you can call it whatever the hell you want to call it. Yeah, I'm calling it the Gary
pedestrian bridge. And I'm not saying we're going to find a way to put his name on it. No,
they're not going to find a way to put it. Allegedly, it may happen. I think I know where to buy
some spray paint. Yeah, you know, I wouldn't know. No, I would do spray print, but I'll put there's
going to be some plaque that they're going to have a hard time getting off. But let us do a plaque.
Yeah, just at the base of one of the the pose. Yeah, what's that going to hurt?
I don't know, but I'm I was at just at the angelica the other night. I saw it. We drove under
today. It's really come a long way. And so I don't like that bridge. It has a very beautifully done.
So, so looking forward to the completion of that. And we will call it that to the end of time,
you can call it whatever the hell you want to. Like I said, we're calling it that just we don't
have four million. We can do a podcast live from there. Yeah. Oh, we'll beat the angelica at some
point anyway. I don't know, but I mean, maybe we can do a portion live from the bridge.
We just record something at the bridge. Let's do that at the video fest if it's at the
elbow. If it's open, yeah, if it's open, yeah. Number seven, the new seasons were DSM and the
AT&T performing arts center. We got a nice little break right now, but they're going to fire
this bad boy up again real soon. And we're going to be all over it. And I missed the last one.
I missed the bodyguard is in Santon. So good. It looks to be a good season. Today's the
last today's the final day for the bodyguard is closing day. Number six, this is for me,
the expansion of the block church. Right now, the church that I go to, it's called the block
church. It's based out of Philly. But we gather in this couple's home that are friends of mine.
And they have a YouTube playlist where we have some praise and worship. And then we have,
we're a week behind them because they record the sermons and then they send them out. In two weeks,
we are, we are moving out of their house into a larger room at a local rec center here in
Mesquite because we're getting too big. We have, we average 40 to 50 people a week. So we're
moving into a bigger facility. And that's going to happen two weeks from today. So I'm very excited
about that. Cool. And I will be handling the AV because I have the equipment. All right. And
maybe doing a little praise and worship you never know. Killer number five. We're about
six. If I do my math correctly, we're about seven weeks away. The State Fair of Texas, brother.
Football will be deep into it by then. Okay. Wilson Phillips this year, baby.
Am I going to say? And Florida. Oh, right. Florida's playing safe for this year.
I love the State Fair of Texas so much. I know, but it's a money trap.
There's a much because what? Oh, Dave. Okay. What they're what? Once you pay 15 bucks to get in,
what there's you have to do it right. You have to go on the day where you take the Dr. Pepper can
you get in for a buck or you know somebody who knows somebody. Yeah. Bear biscuits. But still,
once you get in there, what there is free. Every ride costs something they're trying to see. All the
exhibits you can walk through. I love walking through it. No, like the carved butter, the
carved butter, all the arts and crafts that people do. They're amazing. You know, just stay away from
the midway. It's a money pit. That's the beer biscuits. At least if they still do them, they used
to have there was like a Campbell soup thing and then you could get the beer biscuits. My wife loves
the roasted corn that they do. She's got to have that. I have to have my barbecue baloney sandwich.
I have to have my fletcher's corny dog. Yep. And there's something else. And I can't remember what it
is. There's a drink that I really think I kill a corn. Of course. I can't do kill a corn.
Now Mike, here's the thing. I have not done the state fair in years years. I think you need to
make it a point this year. Now that I'm going to I know I'm just going to say that guess what?
Because I took her to the earth date. She loved that. So I love to take her to the state fair.
You don't have to brother. I'm going to take her number four on a takeer. Don thought that we
were going number four is the start of real football. Talk to about earlier. I'm ready.
Life begins at the end of August and ends in February.
Life and everything in the life world is good. And we'll have to get the TV back up and running
in the studio at that point. Number three. So three way tie. Justice League episode eight and
Thorragner Rock. It's about a seven week period. I fully back that statement.
We should get we should screen at least one if not two of those. So we'll see.
So ready. Number two happens in four and a half weeks. I get to go home for a few days.
And is my third year running and my 10th attending of Night of Joy at Disney.
Are you going to do Permanee brothers? Is that part of the state? Are you insane? Of course I'm
going to do it. I don't know if it's that part of the state. I didn't know when I go home. It's
at home. Okay. So Disney's in Orlando. There's not one. I think there's a less spot is in
Orlando. Not a part of me anyway. The spot is also very, very good. I will be getting a public
sub this time because I missed it last year and I'm very upset about this. What do you mean a public
sub? Public is a grocery store chain. Okay. And their subs are some of the most phenomenal things
on God's green earth. But you get to look out. You get the garlic balls. Because last
those are garlic. Those are garlic mountains. Yeah. Those things are the size of your head.
Oh, and I'm sure my breath could have killed a mule and I didn't care. We're all ahead. Do
you think they should open a Permanee's down here? I don't know if it would do as well here.
Maybe I've been Addison maybe. I just like that East Coast vibe that it has to it. No,
but those sandwiches don't vibrate. Yeah. And number one, I'm looking forward to for the rest
of 2017. October. My birthday. It might not be 160 degrees. My birthday. Don's birthday. Chad's
birthday. Alex Barnhill's birthday. Alex's birthday. My wedding anniversary. I'll probably take
a week off just because I'm going to have a week to use. We got video fest at that time.
Video fest. Chad's favorite day of the year. October 31st.
Hell in the cell. Pumpkin season. Not a big fan of the pumpkin. Not a fan. No, it's not that
drink from that place. But it's just the pumpkin. I like I do like the smell of fall. I like I like
pumpkin better pumpkin pie. You get that first version fires up that fire place for the first time
of the year. It's still it's still not cold enough that you don't have to have barbecue. You
can stop a barbecue in October. It's it's amazing. I can say it. Hell in the cell. I said
hell in the cell. I know. Amanda and Rusev versus Carmella and James Zell's worth.
Okay, no on the show. We say give me the book in the checkbook for a year. It's not
give done the book in the checkbook for a year. We're going to go back to October camping.
It'll be camping weather by then. Yeah, I'm not a big camping person. Unless there's an RV
involved. Well, but even just outdoors around a fire pit enjoying talking to people without the
electronics is a nice break. Well, I'll say this. Well, now you can have your your car can be a
Wi-Fi hotspot. So well, I'm going to say that the I won't be here on December 10th, which is Sunday
because I'm going to be in Pittsburgh for the Baltimore game. Oh, really? Yeah,
Mazel tov sir. Yeah, I said, dad, give me the Baltimore game. So thanks dad. Yeah, but also
then I'm going to go to Montana for Christmas. And the thing is faith has never seen snow.
That is true. We talked about that. Yeah, we we listed and we're not going to we're not going
to ease her into snow. We're just going to put her in the zero degree temperature. I told her,
I got a swimsuit first. She can wear it there. Yeah. And the rest of the girls at the table were
like long johns, wool socks. Yeah. So I'm looking forward to that cold weather. To take my new wife
to Montana and have a have her have a white Christmas. Nothing wrong with her brother. She's going to
love it. Yeah. It's the smile hurt. The smile on her face is what I want to get that photo. I
want to see that smile. First time she gets out and see snow. You know, she'll oh, yeah, it's
going to happen. But taking her to Pittsburgh too. I mean, anybody V2 have ever been to Pittsburgh?
Nope. I actually I flew into Pittsburgh once. Okay. But the first time when you see downtown
Pittsburgh going through under Mount Washington, especially at night, beautiful. And that yeah,
I had to go to West Virginia for a work trip. I had to fly to Pittsburgh and then drive three
hours. Yeah. Okay. All right. Let's do the plugs. All right. Visit our website,
