good evening. It is 705 on the East Coast. It is 405 on the West Coast. It is Sunday
the 19th of January in the year of our Lord 2014. It is season 4 episode 28 for those
of you numerically inclined. It is number 2-04. The club houses live on the air and we welcome you

He is spending some time with his dad, especially since now my god daughter is with her with him.
She has arrived in Texas for God to have her back. So he took the week off. We'll see him next
week. So sitting in the co-host chair across from the desk for me. He is the official fact checker of this show.
You may know him as fun Don Go. But his mama call him Don Ford. I'm a call him Don Ford.

Well, sir. Well, in first off, I got tomorrow up on work. As do I. We have the cat right there.
Others hang out. He's just hanging out. He's not like he's doing anything. He wanted to be on the show. I said fine.
And the other thing is this is my first time with our co-hosts. Really? And he's your first show with him?
Yeah, and he brought me beer. So first time drinking on the show too.
So if you, if you, if you, you could probably use some context clues if you're a longtime listener of this show.
You probably know who is in the other chair because he's the only man. I think in the history of this show that's ever brought beer with him.
He is one of my oldest friends in Texas since I moved here. Almost. It'll be next year. It'll be eight.
No, we kept your next little being 19 years ago. He is docked. He is also known as John House.
Welcome sir. Oh, my gosh. Here we go. He's already speaking German. This concerns me.

Brevity may be the better part of Valor tonight. I think the run sheet is about half the size of what
two weeks. But we're going to talk. We're going to start with some TV talk and we're going to start with a
Viacun deos. This one was um, I have to put a disclaimer on this one because
I kind of thought he was already caught. And I fully admit that.
But I got word, uh, believe it was Friday. That Russell Johnson, he passed a lot. No, he passed away on
Thursday. So I guess it did come down Friday morning. Russell Johnson, who played the professor on Gilligan's island.
Passed away. Yeah, I heard about that. Is he, I think so is Mary in the only one left?
Because the howl's have to be gone. Bob, Bob Denver didn't. He passed. Nathan Hale,
James Johnson. So Mary is the only one left. Yeah. But she was the hottest one anyway.
I mean, come on. Yeah, but she doesn't need to still be wearing the outfit. And that happens.
I kind of, I kind of into it, man. You know, that kind of works for me. But uh, I heard an
interview with him and he did in the late 90s where he said if he could go back and do it all over again,
he wouldn't have done the show. Why sad? Yeah. Because he just got sick of being called professor.
And it pretty much, it pretty much tanked his entire acting career. Not those name was professor Anne.
No, that's what said on the music professor Anne Mary Anne. No, not professor Anne. No.
A really? No, but he was born in November 10th, 1924 in North Eastern Pennsylvania.
He joined the Air Force in World War II. But pretty much after Gilligan's island,
I mean, he did a lot of just guest spots here and there.
But he just, it just is an acting career. But I mean, this was in the days before residuals.
I mean, if you remember about probably about 20 years ago, there was a big bruhah about actors
on these old series that were, their episodes were still being played and they weren't getting paid.
No, okay. Yeah. You know, residuals didn't happen. I think it's like the late 70s.
And there was a big lawsuit that was, it was settled out of court if I'm not mistaken. But, you know,
when, when you get to find by a role like that, you know, Jen and I were talking earlier to the
love of Intelth and Mrs. Irvin. And we were saying how SVU is kind of getting the stale for me.
Because it's almost all about shock value now. But that shows been on. This is, this is season 14 coming
So, though, you know, and you know, they're already getting residuals checks because I want to, I mean, how many episodes have
shown if they're been?
400, 500. It's got, I'm gonna look, I am DB will tell me. But I just, I don't know.
In, I haven't heard a thing on him. He did like 25 bombing missions in the war. Wow. That's a lot.
Wow. I didn't, I, you know, I didn't know that thing about him being a pilot.
That explains why he couldn't fix the damn boat.
That's my one thing about this show. They got profits, so they can make everything under sun except glue for the boat.
No, no. It doesn't say that, I mean, there's a bit of time. I mean, it's been on since 99. So, you figure
out an average of 22 a year. Yeah, that's something. Yeah, 98 episodes. Oh, no. SVU's had more than 98 episodes.
Well, I'll talk to you going inside. Oh, you're against it. Well, that would even in today's standards,
it's still too short of syndication.
100 is 100. 100 is usually the standard. Now, there's certain shows that have come up earlier than that.
But the standard is 100 episodes syndication. That's where the money happened.
Billy Gardell, who plays Mike on Mike and Molly. They're, they're going to hit 100 this year.
And he was on Bob and Tom the other day. And they were like, it's that whoever else will
on with him was like, it's how big deal he goes. Yeah, once you hit syndication,
you can pretty much go ahead and buy your mom a house because you're set, you know.
So, but a great character on a great show, wish he would have had such a bad taste in his mouth.
About it, but there's that Russell Johnson, you will be missed.
Oh, uh, Ginger still alive for a long time. Oh, is she real?
I thought Ginger passed. So, so, she's black or yeah, she's born in she's 79, but she's still around.
So, so the, so the debate continues. Well, she won't go out with me, so she's dead to me.

from Kelly Gonzalez. Netflix has renewed Lily Hammer for season three.
That this was their first original series with Steven Van Zant as a mobster who goes into
witness protection. I think it's is Willie Hammer's in Sweden, right?
Yeah, and a room maybe. But they spell it differently. But he's gone this. I think it's Sweden.
It's far a bunch of Vikings or others. I'm wondering, you know.

Comeville, a guest star is coming up for agents of shield. I'm two episodes behind right now.
Chad and I just haven't had the time to get together in one because he watches it. We watch it together.
But of course, Agent Colson's former cohort agent John Garrett for a four episode
arc will be played by the great Bill Paxton. Chad, but it was the last time he did TV.
Well, here's on that HBO things about the Mormons and stuff there. Big love.
But that hasn't been on television in four or five years.
I don't know. I just know it was Chad from where it's on. He was Chad from where it's on. Well,
that aliens who came over. Game over. Was it in Predator 2? Predator 2?
Oh, yeah, he was. You know, but you know, that one kind of was not good. So it was Danny Glovers.
It was the recent thing I saw and it was in holiday, which is like a star's original movie.
And also guessing on agents of shield.

An episode 15. I'm not sure what episode we're on right now. I think we're on 9 or 10.
Something like that. Let me see if I can pull this up. She's going to be working for the good guys.
Or if she can be working for Senate Peter, what's she going to be doing? Senate P. You know, they haven't said what the
this week is episode 13. So we'll air after this weekend for the super. Oh, I can imagine.

Interesting notes coming from a new series coming this this spring called Gotham.
Where it's originally we were told it was I believe it's going to be on Fox that it was going to be focusing
mostly on a young Lieutenant Gordon. But now we're saying that it will feature a young Bruce Wayne.
He will put on the cape in the finale of the series. They've already looked that far forward.
But it's going to take place when he's about 12. So a couple of years after his parents get shot.
And they said there's going to be origin stories of some of the other major villains like the Joker.
So and catwoman in the penguin. So all right. I just don't want them to bog this thing down.
Let's let's find a focus and let's do this thing. That's my that's my concern.
Just wanted to take do it right. No, I'll agree with you there. This has failure written all over it.
I'm a reserving judgment because you know me in Batman. I want to be hyper critical.
But it's it's Gordon. It's not Batman here. Well, we don't that was the original concept. But now
Maybe they figured out that they're doing a series about the young Lieutenant Gordon may not bring the viewers.
I would watch it because it's Batman related and I'll watch it about anything Batman related.
Well, yeah, but I'm not sure I want to see the kid Joker, the kid poison IV, the kid if you go back and you listen to
Batman on Batman. I can't remember which it's it's a fairly recent episode with Paul Deenie.
Yeah, and they talk about a concept of Bruce in his high school years.
All right, the concept they come up with and the way they interweave the story. I think it's brilliant and cw if you got
half a brain in that network you pick it up. That would be fine. It's just this before you know
go he's gonna turn 12 in this and the series finale. I know he's gonna. He's gonna. He's gonna be
combat man. The series finale. He's gonna start when he's 12.
Well, now doc. What do you think about this Fargo series coming up on FX?
More wood chip out. I've seen a couple of production stills. No, it's good. I thought it was going to be an
ongoing series, but apparently it's only going to be 10 episodes. It's not off the movie or what.
I mean, it's going to be based on the movie. So the characters it's going to start April 15th at 10 Eastern
on FX not FXX because that's two different networks now. Oh, yeah, I'm well aware
It's all they do in origin of the wood chip or I'll be pretty happy with that. No, no, there was a guy who needed a treat shop.
Yeah, no, not the literal. I'm sorry, nevermind. I think I have people talking that word accent too. Oh,
yeah, that's Fargo North Dakota. You're from that section of the country there, guys. You should know how it's
pounds. They don't really talk that. I, you know, they don't talk like that there.
February 1st, the mark your calendars. Melissa McCarthy will host SNL for the third time. That may be a
record quickest to three. She wasn't incredible last one. That was so much. She's great. Yeah,
I just watched recently. I just watched this is 40 and she was great at that because I wasn't a big fan of
this is 40, but she was great in it. I mean, I haven't seen anything that she's done that that I've
went because she's genuinely funny. She's a lot funnier than her cousin. That's true. She's not in that
night. Yeah, you will, you know, and we've talked about on this show, the guy that she torments on the
plane and rides made. Yeah, that's her husband. Yeah, I like that. Yeah, she hooked up with. Yeah,
has a little bear. Yeah, what's it? Oh, really? That's her real life husband. Wow. Okay.
That's her husband. I love her on last SNL when she did that bit as the basketball coach going to
boss. That was classic. She's, she's great. And your imagine dragons will be the musical
guest on that episode. They're headlining near American Airlines Center this month. Are they that big
guy? Am I, am I that far out of touch? Well, the kids are into it. They're big on iTunes. It's one of
those bands that got really big on iTunes. And so whatnot, apart a couple of their tracks, they're good.
I think they're like, would you let them headline a tour at the American Airlines? No, I just, I saw
that in the marquee. And I was like, are they the supporting act? And we just forgot to put, you know,
they're headlining. They're better be exploding laser babies because I say, the only way
and are they going to be doing covers for two thirds of the set? I mean,
only have the one record as far as I know. Or are we just going to be doing, hey, here's songs from
our new album. I never heard of them. They're, they're, I mean, they're popular with the kids with
the clothes in the hair. I never heard of them. In fact, check out Bill Pax and last TV thing was
actually the hat felt some of course. Oh, yeah, but says, I was thinking like, like, TV.
That's not the better though. No, that was, that was a mini series. Oh, well, yeah, well, it was
really good. Very, very good. Chad says, I want to know if, imagine Dragons says the theme song
on Defiance. I believe they do. I don't watch that show, but I think I remember hearing something about
that. It's like they're, they're good. They're just, I don't know if they have enough material to
headline for two and a half hours or two hours show what the American Airlines. Speaking of NBC,
the sound of music live apparently did so well. They've already scheduled their next live
musical for December the 4th, which will be Peter Pan. And my probably won't watch that either.
I didn't watch this sound of music. And you know how, how I've got an unhealthy crush on the
carry under what she couldn't bring me to this sound of music. Who's playing Peter Pan? They have
a nice signal. Well, all the other, the traditional musical version always started as a CD.
Mary Martin did it for how many years? I know, and I was confused back then, you know, like,
what's up, man? You know, who would do it now? Who's any Duncan? I will say any Duncan. We
know. No, no, no, no, who went play. Oh, no, I was going to say a city Duncan.
Who played Peter Pan now? If you were going to go that route with it, well, you're going to have
to go that route. Yeah, to make a traditional. And half the way. I don't know if she can
sing she did like this. Oh, man. Okay. That's like, okay. We're good. I have a question.
They put Kira's Kathy Rigby. She did it for years on Broadway. Yeah, this is what I'm saying.
It was that the touring. I thought I have Anne Hathaway. I'm going to be really confused and I'm
watching that. And Chad wants to know, aren't you confused now? Oh, well, yeah. But I mean, I am confused,
most of the time. And also SVU will be doing a crossover with Chicago PD after the Olympics.
If you haven't watched this past week's SVU, got a couple of twists for you on that one. So, and I don't
know how I feel about it. But we'll wait. We'll give it another week. We'll give people a chance
to get caught up because it's time to talk NFL. Ah, what a day in the NFL. Right now the NFC
championship is on San Francisco scores early with the field goal after Russell Wilson fumbles the
ball. They get it down to about the four, but Seattle's defense holds them to three. We're in the
second quarter now about two minutes in and it is still three nothing San Francisco, which definitely
is not as close as the early game was until the end where they almost made it the game at the
end. The Denver Broncos have stamped their ticket to Super Bowl 48. That's just weird for me to say
Super Bowl 48. I was in the halftime show of 23 heat if that's too bad you think.
26 to 16 is your final, but do not let that score fool you. This game was never that close.
Peyton Manning throws for 400 yards today. He ties the record for the NFC championship.
30 to a 43. Yeah, I'm sorry the Fc. 32 of 43 400 yards and two touchdowns. Brady
respectable day 24 of 38 to 77 in a touchdown. Now again, Peyton threw for 400 yards. They have
five of them sent in total offense. Your first downs, they won 27 to 19. They had more first downs
by the middle of the third quarter than New England had all game. Yeah, I was really helping for a closer
game, but I did get to watch a little bit of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. He went to Las Vegas,
and I kind of missed like 30 minutes of the defense. I got to have a couple of minutes. I had
six to yard run. Capron acted just now, but he's a great player. And that's why I think that this
this game to me, it's a pick-up. I can't give you a favorite in this game because yes, Seattle's at home,
but and here's a set that I found strange. Cohen Capronick has three career postseason roadwinds,
and that is a franchise record. So the question becomes, have they just not that one that many
playoff games or do they just have so many at home? It didn't matter in the 80s. Maybe I don't know.
But they said that in the free game. I'm still going for Seattle on this one. I'm going to
Seattle all the way. I want to fight. But you know how I feel about Seattle. They always let me
down and I so I can't put in faith in them. But Super Bowl, we are two weeks away and we're actually
we're going to say right now we're taking Super Bowl Sunday off so we can enjoy the game. So after
next week we'll be at Fox and Hound then we're going to take a week off and then we'll be back on
our regular schedule. Also next week is the Grammys. Where are we going to watch the game?
I haven't really decided. I mean if you guys want to gather over here you're more than welcome now.
I had fun last year. So I have a nice, small gathering maybe order some food and just kind of hang out.
You're more in love with it. Okay. I'm going to get some takeout but depends on you know.
Yeah, extra any circumstances. Well, I mean this game, it just
when you saw the in the fourth quarter and they cut the Tom Brady in the sidelines and he just
slaps his forehead with his hand. I mean that tells the story of New England today.
I've watched touchdown San Francisco. I've watched almost every New England game this year and
that was not New England that came out to play the game. I mean I don't know what it was. I mean
Denver was good. Don't get me wrong. Denver played a great game but that was not New England
they ended up there today. And Peyton Manning continues to prove me wrong.
I mean he continues to prove me wrong. I know.
Not great. And most times I watch New England. I'm kind of hammered over it. You know what?
I told Daddy's. Yeah. And I was very just the greatest of just kind of sober when I watched this
game. So maybe that is the way I enjoy the fight. I enjoyed the fight. I've been to Bonetis in a
long time but I enjoy their fight. It's really good. They get it right over there. They do.
I should have been on my list last week and I want to apologize to the man. It is my favorite
restaurant in this whole city. I agree. I mean the service is great and the food is just like a weird
compliment better than what it needs to be. I agree. Yeah. Yeah. And really. And you know me and Barbecue.
I'm by no. I won't met this. Hey, I'm very picky. I'm like this is all right.
Chad said he slapped his forehead because nobody would high five of it. He had to slap this.

a segment we do on this show where we pick a person or an entity and we debate their greatness
or lack of their oven. We're creeping up on the beginning of fan days, comet convention season.
Usually starts in February and in about October. And the first one for Dallas will be here
in less than two weeks. Cool. Pretty big lineup for this one. It's going to be at the Irving
Convention Center. Now, they've moved the official Dallas Comic Con in May to the Dallas Convention
Center. So that's going to be a big deal for them this year. All right. But what I wanted to do
was I wanted to talk about the concept of the VIP meet and greet. Because I don't, I've got two
minds on this because we we kind of mentioned it on the show a couple of weeks ago. Oh,
sense. For us, we got a call back where they got the touchdown back. So one mind says,
if there ever comes a day that that grace descending becomes something,
I don't know that in good conscience, I could charge what people charge for VIP meet and greet.
Because I'm like, you've seen me, right? Like, this is me. There's nothing else here. This,
you know, it's not like I'm going to open my mouth and like, you know, dragon fires going to come
out of it. This is it. So you're talking about the actual way they charge money, not just hey,
we're going to be at the table. Right. Tell me this. You're talking about, hey, I mean, yeah,
40 bucks dollars. Oh, okay. 24 dollars if you're lucky. All right. But I mean, but and I can
understand, like if you're at a convention in your charging for autographs, because a lot of these
celebrities that appear, that's how they make their money. I get that. What do you feel about
charging to be in a fan club? And then when the artist or person comes to town, because you're
a member of the fan club, then you're automatically backstage meeting green. I'm opening it in your
event. I'm cool. But if you look at somebody like, we talked about on this show a couple of weeks ago
about the Britney Spears debunker, where people are paying $1,500, $2,000. And she shows up, you can't,
you know, don't hug her unless she says it's okay. Don't bring gifts. It was high. Thank you,
shake your hand, click and we're done. How's she showered? I don't know. I'll go either way.
You got a 50 50 shot on that. But I just don't understand. Like, and I said on this show,
if we did that and we charged for it, I could understand if maybe we was like, okay, we'll take the price
of your ticket out, because we have to cover expenses and operations, and then take the rest of
that money and give it to charity. I'm kind of okay with that. Like, it'd be delicate. But when
people are paying these absorbance amount of money. To do it, 2,000 for packets, 2,500 for a package,
you get it like a front road seat, you go back and meet them and stuff, you know. Some bands are
really cool about it. And some like rush. Here's the thing about rush. If you know rush,
if you get to meet and greet, you'll never meet no pert. Lifestone and getty will come out. And they
really talk. Neil Pert is a real quiet guy. Well, he's very, he's very, he's very busy with me.
Especially after he suffers the tragedy. He did. He's very close. And the bus incident, you heard
about the tour bus. Yes. Yes. But if you're a rush fan, you know that going into. You know,
it's all going to be party time with Getty and Alex. And Neil's going to be in the bag doing

we talked about this a couple of weeks ago. He said, and I don't know how it works with them,

with him last week and I did. Well, real quick, when I was in Toronto a couple of weeks back,
Thomas told me what was there doing yesterday. By the way, I was fantastic. I was in a 14
and Asian woman, just fantastic trip. I didn't you get to, wasn't the film festival going on too?
There was and there was a bunch of Slovakians who fought in a club, which I got to see that.
That was like right next to us pretty cool. Nice. Okay. But anyway, okay, some point. If you went to the
Thomas, they'll be show. You could pay like 20 bucks to just be, you know, see the show and I'll
like kind of stuff. If you paid 50, you just hung around after the show. And then Thomas came out.
He said, and he was just about 15 of us. You got to sit around in a circle and we just
talk with Thomas for an hour, hour and a half and we ask questions. So about as long as this show was,
you got that you doubled that. Right. And he just, about double the money. So it kind of works out.
And he basically said, ask me anything. And so we asked all bunch of whole questions. I mean,
they were, and he would just tell all these stories, but she went like, and another show,
which he does, he does. It's meeting great at every show. So it's different every single time.
Well, just the fact of, you know, one of the reasons that Thomas told me is so great. And you have,
you, I don't know if you've talked about it on this show, but you know the one big piece of trivia
about Thomas told me that I don't think a lot of people know. Well, there's a lot of it actually.
He is the pioneer of. Oh, well, it's the reason you're a cell phone can do ringtones. He actually invented it
with a big deal. Yes, though the research he blinded me with science invented that. Yeah, he invented ringtones.
That's basically what he did. We'll see in the other hand, at least some of these bands make a possible
to meet them. And chances that aerosmith doesn't write to. Yeah. Yeah. I met them. They were the nicest
people you'll ever meet the most well man. But you should be because if it's not for these people at your show,
you don't have a career. Right. And if you're going to charge these people all of this money. Yeah.
And that's how I think with with Aussie on the same thing, sharing his wife always says,
Aussie, you do this. You sign till your hand can go no more because someday there might not ever be a line for
somebody to come up and see you. Right. And I'll think the beavers and the Britannies and all that and
don't get me started on the beavers. Well, I don't get it. I mean, there are a lot of these artists
what they'll do at a certain level is there's only a limited amount of meat and grease. Well, it's
our limited amount of tickets. So they know how long it's going to last. There know they're going to put an
hour hour and a half to hours boom, you sign up. And that's a great way to do it. I think then since you're talking
about with the Britannies like, okay, whoever wants one, you pay extra money, you pay a lot and that's
and that's in Vegas. You know, like a case of point like this past week and I saw Tony Levin,
you know, Grinot there. He's a base Chapman stick player with Peter Gabriel. I got to meet him
after the show and it wasn't really a there was no charge. But I mean, he said at the stage,
okay, anybody wants to come meet me. I'm be sitting at this table. Come back here. We'll sign stuff and
I see that to me. That's the way you should be. It was amazing. Yeah. I can understand if you're
aerosmith, you're going to be there till 4 in the morning. But Kings X is always good about this.
At every Kings X show, they could be immediately the moment they get all stage, they had straight
back and everybody in the show can line up and they'll stay to the last person leaves and they're
amazing at this. Well, I saw them open for Pearl Jam in 93. My Pearl, oh yeah, Pearl Jam should have
opened for them. Well, this is the versus tour. So they were right hot at that point. I'd like to say
that one thing that Bloban's do right, they do before the show. So that way it's limited and won't
go forever. That's going to depend on the band though because certain bands, you're you're
want to get in that mine frame before the show. It's easier for them to get talk to the fans
afterwards because it's done. I can kind of exhale a little bit. Bloban's that you've
been talking to two guys that are in bands. I'm in a mine frame before I play where I think that
should I ever get to that level and there's a me. I don't think that I could be as engaging as I
can be after the show when it's done, I can kind of decompress a little bit. Yeah, but I'm agreement.
I'm talking to people before the show. I've got so many things like, I mean, what's going to
is the keyboard going to work? Did I program it? Did I tune it correctly? Oh wait,
is my base as my base is in tune? I mean, you know, I use how many strings are on those
machines and I'm like, I'm worried about every single year in the new one. Yeah, and now
you're that big gap. People that do all that meal would do the sound checks before and stuff and
dock now has a 12 string base. Yeah. Oh, I got a 10 string Chapman stick now just recently. So yeah.
So I mean, so it's not like, I don't want to, I really want to talk to everybody, but I've got like
two minutes to talk to everybody. And it's much better afterwards. Yeah, it's also being a guy that
has seen docked before. Yeah. Music on many occasions. Yeah. I always know what I would go to a
Google show. I'd like, let the dude be after he's done. I'm sure he'll come down and we'll sit and
we'll chat and we'll have a good time, but just let him be right now because a lot of people don't
understand what goes into that mind frame of just like you said, is it set up right? Did I test it
right? Do I got to check it again? You know, is the guitar in tune? Is it that I tune the guitar?
He's big pants, but he has that thing. They have people that do that. So that's the thing. Yeah,
but there's all the way, but there's always margin for error too. So I'm just a bit, yeah. I
wait a guy when I was did the dream theater stuff and they had a guy set up my keyboard rig.
Do all the wiring. I'm like, I'm a nervous wreck before I go on because he doesn't do it the
way. I do it. Yep. You know, and I'm a nervous wreck, because I'm just going to walk

And I've seen her do a live with Fleetwood. No one else could do the song,

I do the song, one not be played. So that's why I did not see Fleetwood Mac on the last tour.
And first, Christine McVee, once you have one thing, you have to understand about her.
Not miscongeniality. No, when she's on stage, she's just out there getting it done.
