f-word that Rob thought was a subtle not the f-word I said an f-word an f-word
that may or may not be in the vernacular per se we can go ahead and say it
can we say it absolutely it's your deal it's not my deal it's been my deal for
years I mean according to the state of Texas we might as well already be
married that's fair that's right again we apologize everybody this that
this usually listening on you stream they're not letting us log in they
they're interface with Facebook is not working so that's really the only
correction update we have we hope everybody enjoyed the big game last week
because I know it's been a week but we haven't got to talk about it so we're
gonna talk about our thoughts on Super Bowl 52 first of all I'm good what
we'll just go through it in kind of sort of in real time if you will let's
start with the pre-game ceremonies chat how much were you paying attention
during the pre-game ceremony because I know that you were very anti this
Super Bowl for many reasons right and we're very vocal about it on social media
which I thought might have been a bit over the top but you got that going for
you which is nice I I had it on as background noise all day long I was like what
else is going I didn't tune in until 4 30 central time because by that point we
were in day three of pre-game anyway yeah because you know I was catching up on
some shows and I I was like as long as I'm tuned in when the official in
stadium official not just NBC pre-game started that's when that's when I was
worried about it Leslie Odom Jr. with God bless America I thought he did a
great job you did pink with the national anthem apparently for those of you
that did not know because even I was like she just spit out some gum right
there apparently she was fighting the flu and that was a throat
lasage right like she was she was trying to keep her throat warm as long as
humanly possible until the first note of the singing happened which they
kept under wraps so some of us couldn't bet the under on the anthem I see I'm
glad you corrected me because you and I were texting you were in the
Bahamas yes let's just say it you and I were texting all throughout the game
yes and you you corrected me because I thought it hit the over but you
corrected me because they don't clock it from when the song starts they
clock it vocal from oh say to home with a brave home is free landed by the
yes so the free and the land of the brave whatever it is well I know the free
home the brave I am so not here today anyway that's the easiest thing for
them because they don't want to worry about it long drawn out opening so they
say it's on the performer so it's from the start of the vocals to the end of the
vocals this year was two minutes and what if it was her Valpert so valid
questions what if it was Kenny G you don't know then they would go on the note
okay fair enough the performer and I also want to say shout out to both teams
and and please somebody correct me if I'm wrong here I didn't see a single
knee taken no no not one but I don't really remember them focusing all that much
on also true yeah all of the players they were showing individuals but I don't
remember them but you know they would have if there were people on the it
would have been shown because if not they would have been like oh you could have
been show it yeah so let's talk about the game only one sack in the entire game
lost that and the most important play of the game in the fourth quarter yes only
one punt in the entire game one that bet I mean that was crazy more more
total yards than ever in any game period Super Bowl playoffs otherwise at
almost 1200 yards of offense Brady with the most total yards to a losing
quarterback much less ever at 506 well if you go with the 505 on passing in
six yard scrambling it was five okay all right fair enough my question for
both of you did the Eagles win this or did the Patriots lose this yes I know
it's sticky but I'm always interested to hear the opinions on this the Eagles
did everything they could to win yeah I mean a the Patriots defense did not show
up the whole game just because the offense turned it over at the most in
opportune time does not mean that they didn't do their job both offenses did
their job the Eagles defense did as much of a job as they could the Patriots
defense and I would love to hear from my Lions fans as to how they feel about
hiring the defense of coordinator now in Detroit with a cleanly
shorn beard for the first time in years well until the fall was back for now
yeah yeah but I love to hear that responsive yeah we got the Patriots defense
of coordinator who just gave up how much chat I agree with I just for people
that were complaining about the lack of defense in this game neither one of
these teams really known for their defense this year no in this particular
season are obviously yeah actually was a highly ranked defense but they weren't
world beaters like the right exactly but at the same time they did exactly what
they were expected to do which was stop the ground and give up the past and I've
been saying all season if you want to beat the Patriots don't let up and that
was the the problem that everybody always has with them is you get up 10 points
at the half you're like all we have to do is to protect the lead no all you have
to do is keep scoring yeah because they're going to and when you give the ball
to Brady with 242 to go you might as well start stupid boat movie because
that's how much time he has to get the ball down the field when you're Tom Brady
absolutely I agree with you I think there's a combination of the two I didn't
see a lot of the fire that I would normally see out of New England in this
game which was kind of weird for me they they had a weird part where branding
cooks was going to be a huge part of their game plan that hit him going out
early really dampened and and I will say this though no fine to my knowledge came
out of that hit nor should it have no it was it was a it was a clean it was clean
there was nothing there's no other way that hit could have gone right props to
both sides for not making a big deal out of it either way hopefully he doesn't
have anything recurring and he comes back healthy next year I do have the
controversial calls with a question mark next to it because as you and I were
communicating throughout the game and I was also communicating with friend of
the show Dave Scott huge Eagles fan very very happy for him and of course
aren't my home church up in Philly very extremely excited both of those were
touchdowns period like the first one I could have seen either way depending
depending on the camera angle you saw it from in real time which is what the
referees have yes with a little bit of replay there wasn't enough
indisputable evidence to turn that over I think hurts thing no doubt in anybody's
mind and the fact that and you guys know me I will always give love to Chris
Collins worth former Gator great I couldn't excuse and I will equally hate on
Collins worth every I couldn't I can't I can't I can't because this here's a guy
you can't do a good job I was just like come on dude like rate Charles could
see that's a touchdown he's blind and gone you know it's one of those words
like I'm very curious as to which two you're referring to are you referring to
the alchon jeffrey to start scoring and the Zachary's to end it the yeah the
one where oh did he turn around that have a possession no he that was a touchdown
that ball crossed the goal one see but you're bearing the touchdown that they
called an upheld that should not on the backside of the end zone right that's
the first one I mentioned okay well I thought you were talking about alchon
jeffrey the initial one where he came down on top of the ball no no okay the
Clement should not have been I disagree I see based on the letter of the
rules he does not have possession when he steps out at their because he's
losing the ball well but it hold it through the ground which covers that check
mark I do not think that should have been a touchdown not just because I've
been on the Patriots but still but I think that if there's ever a case for a
revisioning yeah of the catch rule we've had we've seen it all season long how how
far are we gonna go before it becomes tie goes to the runner if it looks like a
catch now sounds like a cat from our from our our gambling consultant we'll
refer to you as um so was there a prop bet on the whether a an index card would
appear or not given who the referee was depending on the book you were in
there was one okay particular book I do know offered that however you totally
take that bet how no no you don't because they set it at a point where you
would have to and I'm trying to remember the exact number I believe it was you
would have to bet fifteen thousand dollars to win ten ten dollars or ten
thousand dollars wow so like yeah well geez that was that was what those were
like yeah we'll take this the money the money the money line is minus 14 990 I
believe it was I believe it was minus one hundred and fifty house I was
impressed with the lack of penalties well that's that's what they were going
for on this one after let them play let them play this this crew was
specifically put together as the lowest well how do we put this the least
amount of flags thrown during the season at each spot for the referee and crew
that's what these guys were they literally took the bottom wrong of every spot
and now the question that I asked you and you had a great the reason I put
this in here is because I really liked your answer and chat I want you to
hear this hopefully I remember what I said Nick Foles now Kurt Warner no no
absolutely not Nick Foles perfect tangent or not tangent but perfect analogy
here is Jeff Hostetler Nick Foles does not play so well that he becomes a
Hall of Famer like Kurt Warner Jeff Hostetler he is who replaced Bill Sims in a
Super Bowl and one for the Giants yep yep yep but he's about to get a big
contract somewhere else for this MVP and never do anything again yeah that's
but he played such an amazing game yes he did he absolutely played and for a
team that pretty much gave their fans even gave up once Carson wins took
that does not I wish I jumped on the line then but I didn't have faith in Foles
either I want to give you guys the opportunity here to do something that we
normally do with WWE pay for views and I think that this is kind of apropos for
this great this Super Bowl the game itself we're staying with the game itself
okay if we're going with the game itself it's an A if not an A plus one of the best
one of the best super bowls I've watched in years actually one of my favorite
things and I was screaming to high heaven to the point where security started
showing up bet the over bet the over I took every prop that to bet higher
overs and won everything you know from there we go to the commercials a couple
of surprising ones there solo a Star Wars story none of us saw that coming no
the teaser for the teaser of the trailer that would debut the next day
oh shout out to Mark Bernharden he can now put project I worked on had a
Super Bowl commercial on his resume he's the co-host of Fat Man on Batman he
was one of the main writers on Castle Rock oh okay all right so shout out to
Mark Bernharden he was very he was very excited on social media with that
aired I didn't catch it cleanly for the Castle Rock spot though is that Bill
Skarsgard again in a Stephen King thing I wasn't watching close and if I was
just happy once I realize what it was the same person that they had play Pennywise
in Castle Rock well yeah I mean that's what that's what this show is it's it's
basically the town where all Stephen King stuff takes place so it's a Stephen
King universe town show yeah because like the first thing you hear is we just
got a letter from Shawshank I'm like you have my action what is this yeah that's
what it is okay well but at the same time he's not in makeup it's not anything
else but it's the same actor so I was curious yeah so I'm just interested
on that I think the way actually I'm gonna I'm gonna bury the lead on this love
the rap battle yeah ding-lige lip-sinking to bust the rhymes is about one of
the greatest things ever countered by Morgan Freeman lip-sinking to Missy Elliott
I see that's one of those ones I wish they had not leaked early yeah I'm glad
I didn't have the audio on it because I didn't get the audio I just thought
okay so this is a thing you're right by the way Alex he is the scars guard is
the prisoner in Shawshank okay fair enough okay the interesting moment during
the second quarter where we lost all picture for about 40 seconds and I I posted
this the NFL owned somebody some money and it was funny because the comments I
was getting from people were just okay so it wasn't just direct TV and so it
was like I thought like I was watching Hulu and somebody else I the words out of
my mouth were I think this is an Andy Kaufman thing because there's no way
somebody botches it that badly on this day they said it was an equipment failure
but they said there were no spots missed because they had just taken one right
before that yeah so everything balanced out I was excited that there were very
little politics involved yes there were a couple of spots T-Mobile had one I
did not Chad mentioned to me yesterday there was a Scientology one that I
completely missed oh yeah somebody googling what is Scientology and
curious and they aired it apparently during the Olympics as well to me the
winning I wish there was a reply to that that just said nope the winners the
winners go to tied no and not just because one of my new doppelgangers I'm
being told is David Harbor I grow my beer out my grow my beard out I look like
David Harbor I'll take that you know what you yeah I will give that I that is
that is a friend of the show Heather Fogelman coined that and I will take it now
I got to get you my favorite my favorite one though was the one where they
just they curve ball the old spice thing I thought that man that for me for a
real oh yeah now the only thing that could have made that winningest
campaign of all time is if he owed every no if every one of those commercials
ended with they're not for eating every time I figured that's where you're going
not for eating every time well that was my thought was tied is on an all a
full-court press to say look we make things people don't eat what did you see
did you see I really hope that this was fake news but some it looked like it
came from headline news which I don't know if it would but apparently a group
of lawmakers lobbying to make tied pods look less appetizing I think that was the
onion I hope I really think that was the I saw the HL in logo on it which just
you tweak it yeah yeah it's Facebook what can you really trust it's you know
the halftime show did anybody notice the fake out right off the bat what he
says what was what was the first song he sang off of it was off of man of the
wild so I don't know man no it was right I would say right after that once
once the tempo picked oh I need when he shouted stop before he got to the
line and he looked at the he looked at the camera I was like ah ah yeah
Jen had just she had worked that whole day she had just gotten home in time for
the halftime show and she's like what I go no that next line is where the
incident happened with Jen she's like haha I thought he did an amazing job I
love that he did it with no special guests they also did a decoy where it
looked like it was gonna go into an in-sync song yeah interestingly enough
that was one of the prop bets available was will he sing with one or more
members well and you you took another prop bets which I don't know if you get
partial credit for mm-hmm because one of the prop bets that Alex may or may not
have made he was out of the country so he's allowed was would a print song be
performed in if so which one yeah well that I sure that was not taken with the
house that was taken in uh in the compound the farewell compound of the
Barnhill family not sure anybody would have picked that one nope that one
that he would have done no I thought he did a brilliant job I did too well
wait a minute wait wait can we just pump the brakes there did you just say he
did well no I I was talking to chat when it happened yeah oh no no but I am
not pretty to this information I was expecting to be not happy no no no no
because see here which I'm not saying about chat chat can be objective when it
comes to things of a prince nature absolutely okay now granted he is Prince
fan what so like velvet injury make don't he yes we haven't gotten there yet he
has actually seen that live yet he's only seen pictures noted um and and also
not tap happy but I texted him with perhaps not a reaction that I would give
on the show normally and his reaction was to I am a sobbing mess right now yeah
I loved how you go into the outside shot and they lit up the downtown to look
like this and I caught it at the very last nanosecond I had to rewind it I was
like did I just see that correctly yes you did but I would like to say something
that's what it destroyed me I would like to say something and chat is not in in
this particular group of people okay but I would like to say something to the
lunatic fringe element of Prince fans and and those do that they're listening I
want you to get real close get real close get real close to your to whatever
you're listening to because I want you to hear me very very clearly because I'm
going to enunciate this and you know when I enunciate things you know I'm
annoyed and I want you to hear me not a hologram right there with you right
there with you not it was not a hologram no it wasn't it's like saying I do a
PowerPoint presentation it's a hologram of my company logo no it was a
slide show that means that anybody has done any sort of tribute to Prince over
the course of the last two years that has projected something on a wall
behind them they've done holograms if that's if that's what qualifies as a
hologram because it doesn't that's not a hologram I thought he was respectful
I loved what he did he was doomed no matter what he did he was going to be
screwed if he did nothing he was he was obviously screwed because he did this
because people griped and if he did even more they'd be after him with
pitchforks and torches I was also impressed not not impressed as much as I
was shocked that they like when the eagle scored they played the fly eagle fly
song I don't remember that ever happening in a Super Bowl maybe just the
first time I noticed it well was it would it really be a thing because that
would be 1980 or what if they played fly eagle fly in a Super Bowl it would have
been in 1980 let me sum up for any team oh for any team well I will say that
that stadium that crew that entire organization for the Vikings not a fan of
Minnesota before this season not really on board the season before I have been
won over by the people of Minnesota and the people that work in that stadium
wanting everybody to have a good time and they did I am shocked and also another
great commercial was the ram truck with the Vikings going and then realizing
that the Super Bowl turning around and going back and we will leave alone the
other commercial that I did that I don't agree with because we don't do politics
on the show if you don't mind I do want to say because there that was just an
open forum bet if you had to pick one print song that you thought Timberlake
would have performed what would it be as Prince fan one the I kind of
figured that the no brainer was going to be possibly beret because that's
what he samples in the song that he segwayed from that did not even come up
that's a good one I thought it would have been if I had to pick one like
everybody would have picked perperate everybody would have if I had to take
that out of out of contention knowing who Timberlake is and what he can do I
would have picked a beautiful ones see once I saw the piano I thought that's
where they were going see the three big ones now granted we do not have the
expertise in that household of the current there enough the three big ones
were when dubs cry purple rain and let's go crazy now mind you I was on an
island by myself with the let's go crazy but I do have a reason if you would have
done let's go crazy I think you would have started with it open with it yeah if
you I don't I would have taken let's go I would have taken when dubs cry out of
the rotation absolutely just because there's no base in that song at all so it
would not have carried in that arena very in that stadium very well plus all
three of those songs that you just mentioned have been used by other artists
and tributes already for the past right however because Lenny did let when
dubs cry Bruno Mars did let's go crazy and Madonna and Stevie wondered it
purple rain but here's why I said let's go crazy do you know what the touchdown
song is for the bike I do indeed yeah purple and gold thing that you wrote no no
let's go crazy so they already have that I wouldn't have I would have taken
that out of context I would have thought that he would have done that as a let's
because the people in in Minnesota would have gone nuts well and and I even
asked Brandon this well actually I just kind of Brandon might refer to the show I
threw it out there I'm like I'm just curious that if the Vikings had beaten
Philadelphia and gone on to the Super Bowl would they have been allowed all the
bells and whistles of a home game if they had scored it's never happened so I
don't know that we can answer that question and he said no I'm like how can I
did you I think did you update the Facebook page for me yes I did okay but
and this was something that I don't know that I've actually physically asked you
Alex because I think you would know this better than Chadwood this has to be
the first time in NFL history that a number one seed was an underdog in every
game and won the Super Bowl absolutely no no it's the first time a number one
okay let's back this up real quick okay it was the first time a number one
seed was ever an underdog in the division game they started with everything
after that is just adding to history okay so they had the number one seed had
never been an underdog in their first game end of statement so after that
everything becomes a first right because you wouldn't that they wouldn't they
weren't the first they wouldn't have after that the only time a number one seed
has ever been an underdog before the Super Bowl I think was in a conference
championship game I can't remember specifically off the top of my head but I
Tennessee wasn't involved no I believe Tennessee was yeah
Tennessee was an under no no they were favored over Buffalo okay they were
favored over Buffalo in that game even though they almost lost Frank
why check all that that goes on to it they were favored in that game but it was a
short margin okay but the it's it's very rare for a number one seed to be an
underdog at any point before the Super Bowl this was the first time and it
will probably be the only time a number one seed is ever not favored in a
divisional game the closest you have to that in recent memory was when the
Seahawks as a foreseed went into the playoffs at seven nine that was the
March on Lynch game over the Saints which they were an underdog one of the greatest
moments in the league ever oh my god I love to show the league not the actual
financial in the post game I saw Kevin Hart getting the Heisman in real time
oh he took it right in the face and then it apparently got worse when he was
on somewhere on the NFL network yes it was and almost basically got the hook
the old school style because you're drinking kids because it's our say
verbiage he was using at that and when let me just we're gonna say a bunch of
words in the next few minutes that I never thought I'd string together in a
sentence five of them would be Deon Sanders voice of reason that is true and we
already talked about the Matt Patricia thing I'm gonna use another five words I
never thought I'd use in a sentence here in just a moment after the Josh
McDaniel's debacle which I think my favorite bit about that if you don't know
if you've been living in cave Josh McDaniel's basically signs to be the
cults and then he calls head coach and then he isn't somebody actually did a
meme online that was a banner that said Josh McDaniel's head coach almost six
fifty eight a.m. says seven twenty five p.m. wow oh I love the the parallels that
everybody's been pulling at to be like well Belichick did the same thing yeah
the difference was Belichick was on the way to the news conference to be
introduced right and wrote his resignation letter on a napkin I mean this was
he had he can't ever coach anywhere else McDaniel's will be a New England
Patriot until he retires because nobody will touch him at this point and there's
also going to be some very interesting if all of a sudden Belichick steps
down and he takes the mantle there's going to be some very interesting things
that are going to need to be looked at by the league in that entire process
I'm just saying but here's the five words another five words I never thought I
use in a sentence Frank Reich NFL head coach because he is now your head coach
of the Indianapolis Colts because the other thing you have to deal with is they
had already hired his assistants that were hand picked by McDaniel's and they
are honoring those contracts so kudos to the Colts the Colts have as an
organization I've always respected on a certain level for the most part I
wouldn't say always but for the most part as an organization not wrong with
that and McAfee talks about it everyone's true but so overall I had a great
time you know basically in my pajamas much like I am right now so watching the
game with my wife bought some some frozen wings from the Kroger and put them in
the oven and put a little barbecue dry rub on them and had a little crinkle
fries with it oh yeah well that's what I texted you told me about that oh you
were something and you were like well I know something about getting crazy
because I got it's right it's a right that's right that's how I roll sir and they
were very good to might I add so let's get into some TV headlines since the
Super Bowl is on TV let's talk TV congratulations the Tosh.0 three more
seasons from Comedy Central I didn't know that show was still on the air so
waiting for Joel McHale to say you're welcome well that's gonna happen this
Friday the Joel McHale show starting Joel McHale start this Friday very
excited Westworld they did the nice tease during the Super Bowl but didn't give
a date we now have a return date for Westworld and that will be April the 22nd so
get ready for that Legion and did announce we talked about this a couple of
weeks ago with Aubrey Plaza putting that post on Instagram they now have an
official season two will will start airing April the 3rd so two days after
Easter for that we've been talking a lot about true detective season three coming up
Mamie Gummer has joined the cast so that cast just keeps getting bigger sir I
found the text what it was it it was Sean Bet on pink's air color the length of
this national anthem if Justin Timberlake is wearing a hat to start half time
and a bunch of other things like that so it's getting a little crazy out there
or out here and you have I have frozen chicken wings and crinkle fries ready to
throw in the oven so I know all about crazy that's right that's how I roll people
that's how I roll see I can't knock her too much because I did also have bets on
those the difference is I won that's true did you did you bet that Timberlake's
wardrobe would come from Cabela's good God that's the only real question but you know what he's
the only dude that can pull that off but he didn't I thought dude that dude you look ridiculous
but you got to remember that he looked ridiculous but the new album it ties into the new album yeah
but then you're gonna grab your jacket and do suit and tie while you're wearing camouflage
with a buck on your chest but he did have a suit okay and a tie technically there's a lot of
ties around them maybe a guiding tie with one of the dancers I don't know didn't have any guy
there you go uh amazon developing a Conan the barbarian series huh all right I'm just saying
so swarcing I can't get King Conan off the ground but they're gonna do this okay
I'm actually gonna come back to this next one because I'm very interested uh we have been talking
a little bit about the Magnum PI reboot you have a director for the pilot that's one of those
you just leave it alone yeah you you don't need to improve on something that never needed to be
just like I don't need to see a silver spoons reboot so let's just put that out there now that's
I know I'm just I'm putting it out there to the universal that it doesn't happen because you know
I love that's one of my favorite shows of all time yeah but you do realize that you may have just
reverse engineered that right I just want to say like speaking of that and the reason that that's
how fresh in my mind I had a weird dream the other night that I was on a game show and the game
show turned into like the tiebreaker was whoever could recite the most lyrics from the theme of
silver spoons and I crushed it I this this is what goes on in my head okay these are the things
that go on in my head he's dreaming what might have happened head we successfully completed our
audition for a world series of pop culture oh sir if only Merv Griffin was still alive and I told
you have you heard that story no that it was just a little over 10 years ago that Chad and
doc and myself traveled to Austin to audition for the world series of pop culture season two on
vh1 uh-huh I will tell you that story off air because understood because a lot of it can't be told
on the I've got to show I think that's mostly Chad and doc but still know much to your surprise
yeah would be to my surprise I'm excited for this yeah let's just say I had an episode and
we'll leave it at that until we get out there um we did not have enough dump on the
also being adapted as a series but they're not saying for who right now because why would you
child's play oh god because I need the further adventures of chucky yeah it's going to be called
the uh Oakland Raiders isn't it but you know yikes no you fly in some heroin Brian Fuller has stepped
down as the showrunner for the amazing stories reboot that I believe Amazon is doing
I don't know the we need that either I don't know I didn't know that was a thing either no
Killberg's not involved it doesn't even thanks for listening to the show uh also don't have
internet in my apartment yet you also stranger things season three will be eight episodes they're
going back to eight okay season one was eight season two was nine season three was eight and
there will be a time jump oh because as the Defa Brothers have said the kids are aging so we have
to keep up with it. So we're going to jump. They didn't say how far. So probably not a massive jump.
At that age, they change rapidly. So I understand that. But also being pseudo rebooted.
The Disney Channel wants to do a live action series of Kim possible or a live action movie of
Kim possible. I did see an exploit on someone is interested in playing the role. And I am completely on
board with it with the accent. You can work with the accent. Fair enough. Co-signed. Becky Lynch.
I'm in. I'm in. I'm on board. You know, I do love to need some Becky Lynch to begin with. But I'm in.
So even on my bad list, yes. TV on DVD and Blu-ray this week. Season one of Adam 12 will be
available. The original for you. Wow. Also season one of the Duce that HBO just did. Not a bad
series. It's it's got some pacing issues. But I think Franco was amazing in it playing twins.
Yeah. The sinner season one. This was that USA show that they did with the Jessica Biel,
where she in the opening scene of the opening episode, she just rolls up on a dude and kills him.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I've heard good things. I have to. So animal kingdom season two,
the TNT show that I have never watched an episode on. Doctor, the doc, go. I'm sorry. They had a
really good ad campaign for the last season. I was, but it was one of those where it was like,
it's TNT. So it's like, I'm kind of interested. I'll record it. And then we moved and then nothing.
Is that the one with Alan Barkin? Yes. Okay. Okay. Uh, the doctor who's special twice upon a time
available on DVD and Blu-ray this week. And I need you to clarify something for me because your wife
is a big fan. Yes. Because she's not like she's from London. Um, that's been too long since I told
that joke. Never gets old. Never will. Uh, Doctor, who the complete Peter Capaldi years,
isn't he on it for like two years? Yeah. Can't we just call it the last two seasons?
Season, be done with it. Season 10 and 11 or whatever it was. I couldn't tell you. Okay,
it was a little weird to bite out. I'm like, is that like he played it for like seven years?
Just like believe me. Like, and if it does exist, maybe it's something I need to get. But if they
did the tenant years like that, that's what my wife would want. And a complete series release this
week. Actually, I need to clarify this because I saw this number and it made me go, is that real?
Um, give me just a second here. I'm typing with because my my laptops off center. So I only
able to type with one hand. Uh, let's see. De-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de-de.
Okay, that's not telling me what I need to know. The complete series of a little show
that make make want you might that might make you want to come and knock on our door.
Hmm. Three's company, the complete series. And let me go ahead and pull this up on the deal
because yeah, here it is. 174 episodes.
19, 17, 17 to 1984 and you did 174 episodes. So what's the breakdown on that? That's seven years.
Now I'm saying per season. How many episodes per season? That's, that's 30. That's averaging 25
a year. Yeah, I get it. It's called the come and knock on our door collection. Kids. Plus two,
two or three early episodes not seen in original broadcast. So you got that going for you.
You are listening to the Clubhouse podcast. We're normally live every Sunday,
night 70s from 4 Pacific, but you streamed doesn't like us today. So we are, uh, this is strictly
for our friends that listen on the podcast app. And people call it and they're like, why didn't
I hear the show? You should subscribe on the podcast. And we do want to ask if you do subscribe
on your favorite podcast podcast app. Man, I can't talk today. Like, rate, review, please,
we need that stuff out there because we work this is, this is, you know, we don't have an advertising
budget. So HBO help brother out. Let us move on, get into person of interest, person of interest.
Or we also call it POI on this show. It's where we take a person and or an entity and we debate
their greatness or lack of their up. And I want to say thank you to Jen Rome for reminding me
because I had one set and then she reminded me that we were going to do this this week. I was like,
oh, that's right. Because then I forgot about that. So for Christmas, one of the things that
we were given by my brother-in-law, who normally he has a penchant for getting me gifts that he
knows will annoy my wife, as does my in-laws in general. That's what family's for. For instance,
I found this sky mall once, it's a, a Kleenex box holder that looks like an Ellis Island,
Easter Island, yeah, Easter Island head and you pull the tissues out through its nose. And she said,
there's no way that will ever be in my house and he got it for me for Christmas. And it's on my
desk at work, but that's not the point. It was here at one time. But what he actually got us this
year for Christmas was he got us basically a two week supply of Blue Apron. So Blue Apron is tonight's
POI. For those of you that don't know Blue Apron, you probably know something of its ilk. And basically
what they do, it can be a subscription service, but you don't have to do it all the time. You kind of,
we're, you can just kind of pay as you go. My sister knows this. No, it's not.
Um, so what they do is you get this box delivered to your house and thank goodness that we're doing
at this time of year because I do adore the lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin, but her and getting the
mail, not always in sync kind of thing. So it's usually up to me to drive by, oh, there's a box
on the front porch. How long that's been sitting there? Well, it would have been there that day because
I always, I do it every day, but you know, it would have come early in the day, but it was 30 degrees
outside. So I'm not worried about anything going bad. But they send you in a thermal type box.
They're meals and they're not cooked, but they give you everything perfectly proportioned.
So you don't have to worry about measuring things. You basically just, they give you a recipe
card and you follow the thing on the recipe. So we just got our second delivery last week.
Uh, the first week, we got something. I remember the second part more than I remember the first
one for some reason. This is the first thing that she made. I remember thinking, oh, this is
pretty good. The second thing either one of us were a big fan of it was like a grilled chicken
in some kind of a weird red sauce. If it counts for anything, I remember being here one that was
being made and it smelled the latest. It smelled great. Great in theory, not that great in
practice. So we got the new ones. We got the two new ones. Uh, we got French bread pizzas and
because, yeah. And you don't have to cook the dough. There's just basically two sandwich rolls
that you got to cut in half. So you got, there's that. Okay. And then we got some kind of weird
Korean soy something that we're going to be trying as well. My personal feeling on this,
I'm starting to wonder if the stuff that they serve is a little too highfalutin for me.
I mean, her brother swears by it and he's been able to like make things that maybe he wouldn't
be able to make otherwise if he had to do it from scratch. And I think that's where that's
the audience that they're catering to. I just don't know. Well, if you have a description,
I don't like it. That sounded like a ray remind. I don't know. No. Oh,
I'm sorry, ox. Go ahead. Uh, if you have a subscription, don't they have like, they learn from
what your preferences are or some, I remember an ad where they were talking about, if you don't
like certain things, we'll cut those out or I'm sure that there's going to be some kind of an
algorithm. I think they have something that goes along those lines. So obviously in short run,
you're going to get a variety of highfalutin. Both of these entries, I'm interested in the second
one. I'm cautiously optimistic because I, as I'm getting older, I'm getting into, I guess you
could call it a food pocket that I don't like to venture out of a food conference zone. I know
what I like and what I don't like. Right. You know, not a fan of Thai food, not a fan of Indian food.
And it seems to be a trend here. Spice is a problem for me. There it is. I am a spice. I've
always been a spice was. I don't mind when you have spice that fills out flavor, but hot for the
sake of hot is stupid. Yeah, I'm right there with you on that. Like when I watched man versus food
and he was eating this dish and it was prepared by a guy who had to wear a hazmat suit to prepare it.
This is a problem for me. Any dish you have to sign a waiver to eat? I'm out.
Now, I enjoy watching people eat those things. And I don't want to mention any names,
but maybe his initials are Phil Mar. I'm just saying that there might be a YouTube video out there
totally worth watching of him taking on the Four Horseman Burger in San Antonio. And he beat it.
He won. Spoiler alert. He won. But he paid. And for those of you that don't know,
the Four Horseman Burger has four of the hottest peppers on the planet on it. And the thing is,
you have to eat the burger. And then once you finish the burger, you have to stay seated
for five minutes. Five minutes. Wait, just five. Believe me, it's more than enough.
And you can't drink anything. You can't go to the bathroom. You have to wait the five minutes
to beat the challenge. Where is this in San Antonio? I, he would know better than I.
He's looking at the Four Horseman Burger. Right about the three and a half minute mark.
He starts beating on the table. It's all it's brilliant. And I was talking to his lovely wife,
Shannon. She actually called me the next day because it was before they moved out here. They
came out here to visit me because he's also an Eagles fan. So shout out to Phil. He goes, I'm here
for two week reasons. I want to see that stupid stadium. And I want to go take on the Four Horseman
Burger. She calls me the next day. She's like, he hasn't left the hotel room all day. And we've
gone through a bottle of pep dough. And I can hear him in the background. Totally worth it.
Lire. Lire. But then they got to go to that other place in San Antonio that has the cinnamon
rolls the size of your head. It's a chunkies. It's the place to put these burgers. Yes.
All right, fair enough. Yeah. Yeah. So, but again, I'm in that food pocket thing.
So some of it, like I said, could be a little high-falutin to me. It doesn't mean I won't try it
because, again, the lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin knows where that food pocket is. So, it's not
like she's trying to make me try things that she knows I'm not going to like. Let's just say
I'm cautiously optimistic. I don't know if this is something that I could do on the regular.
Oh, that's what it was. The first thing we had was a mushroom Swiss. It was like an Angus burger.
Yes. Those were really good. Very impressed by those. And they came with like a potato
that I really enjoyed. But, you know, I just don't know. Again, it might be a little too high-falutin
for me, especially yet in my mid 40s. Yeah. So, we're out of the same. Oh, you guys are looking
it up now. We're seeing what pepper is. I'm debating on if I can handle this. No, no, no, no.
Antonio, Serrano, Habanero sauce, and the dreaded ghost pepper. See, the only one I'd have
people with. They call it that because that's what it wants to turn you into. This should already
tell me why this is a bad idea. I'm just saying. Some people don't learn. All right. I
don't want to do this. So, blue apron. Again, not a sponsor. If you want to, we're more than happy
to have you on board. Absolutely. Or as what is it that that McAfee says all the time, no free ads?
You're a young man. You have so much to live for. Please. So, I'm sure I'm
there's a lot of people I'd enjoy it. I'm cautiously optimistic on this next grouping.
Because here's the other thing. The French bread pizza, there's cauliflower involved.
Things I don't combine. It's cauliflower and pizza. I just, I enjoy cauliflower. I enjoy buffalo
cauliflower. Very, very much. Our friends at the Alamo have a buffalo cauliflower appetizer
that I'm a big fan of. You have always had high praise for that. But not on a pizza. Just say.
And yes, I am a pineapple on pizza guy. Go pound sand. I don't know why that's such a big deal.
I tell you what. It's good. The one that we had at WrestleMania.
That complete all the boils. That completely won me over.
All the boils is one of the, again, no free ads, but
all the boils can sponsor this show. And I would be totally okay with it.
All the boils, pizza, ria.com. I'm usually not a fan of
Ivy. No, those are not why. Not pop eyes all of them.
Not usually a fan of pineapple on pizza, but their version of the Hawaiian is spectacular.
And did you put the bacon on it? Yes. That's what made all the difference.
See, but you got to do this because it's Canadian and American bacon.
Mine is the spicy Hawaiian where they use pepperoni as well.
I'd be good with that. You know what? I would be interested in that.
That's because that's not that's not a sposs to me to ball.
That's just adding to the flavor. And I might be tempted to try that.
I just want to put it out. I think it's my turn in the barrel on the next
paper view for ordering pizza. Okay. Which will be in two weeks.
We're two weeks away from a limousenation chamber.
A limousenation chamber? For those of you that are going to call that the very first show we ever did
in Fox and how and that's how it was advertised. A limousenation chamber.
You believe that was what six years ago?
God, don't remind me of that.
No, it was a great era in the history of the show.
It was. It was a great era in the history of the show.
Don't remind me that it's been four great years of paper views.
Man, we rocked it out over there.
So you're only a few years away from your AARP card.
Okay, it's just for the record. I don't need your help.
For the record that was not me.
Yeah, I get enough of that from him.
Actually, there was one there.
Is it shot that Don took recently on a special edition?
I don't remember what it was.
Oh, by the way, Don, under the weather tonight, his shoulders bothering him real bad again.
So we want him to he's going through some physical therapy right now,
getting some stuff like he's having some shoulder issues.
So Don, take your time, get rested up, get better.
And when you're ready to come back to the show, come back and try a couple of the tips I gave you.
Yeah, I mean, this is a man that's been through massage therapy school.
So he knows what he said.
I gave him some of them when I went through physical therapy.
I gave him some of the stuff that they had me do too.
So it's not fun.
It's not fun at all.
All right, let's get into some NBA standing.
Shall we gentlemen?
All right.
In the Eastern Conference,
after the trade deadline, where
welcome to the New Cavaliers.
All of them.
In the Atlantic Division, the Brooklyn net still sucked.
They're 21 games out there on a five game losing streak.
But not as bad as the, but both New York teams are coming in hot.
Between the two of them, they've lost their last 11 straight.
To be fair, the Knicks just lost their best player.
But two weeks ago.
I'll still, poor Zingas.
They're only there.
The unicorn.
Yes.
But the Knicks are still four games up on the nets,
but they're seven games behind the 76ers.
Trust the, trust the system.
But they've won three in a row.
They're nine and a half back on Boston.
Boston's a half game back on Toronto,
but Toronto's on a five game win streak.
By the way, Toronto's 39 and 16 right now.
They, dude, they are 23 and four at home.
Wow.
That's some home field events.
In the central division, the Chicago Bulls are still terrible.
They're 14 back.
They are eight games back on Detroit.
Boy, remember when those two teams weren't in the cellar?
Yeah, that was called the 90s.
Yeah.
Good times.
They were four games back on the Pacers.
The Pacers are tied with Milawok and they're both two back on Cleveland.
Cleveland on a three game win streak.
Don't get used to it.
And in the Southeast division,
the Atlanta Hawks are terrible.
They're 14 and a half back.
They're one back on the Orlando Magic.
Orlando's four and a half back on Charlotte.
Charlotte on a four game losing streak.
There's seven games back on my beloved heat.
My beloved heat are only two games back on the Washington Bullets.
I mean, Wizards.
So there's that.
In the Western Conference,
in the Pacific division,
because all of these teams are within shooting distance of the Pacific Ocean.
Sacraments.
Sacraments.
So I said shooting distance.
So the Sacramento Kings are 20 games below 500.
And they're 25 games back.
Speaking of the Fowennix Sun,
they're on a five game losing streak.
They're only a half game better.
No, actually, there's something wrong here.
Sacrameno, maybe Yahoo's got this screwed up.
Sacrameno's 25 games back.
But it has Phoenix above them at 25 and a half back.
ESPN has the same thing.
You know what?
That it's the anomaly right there.
It's because Phoenix has won a game more than them,
but they have two more losses.
The Lakers are 19 and a half back.
They are for Isaiah Thomas having to back up.
That poor kid.
Poor little I see.
And I learned something last night about Isaiah Thomas.
Like, we all knew he was named after that Isaiah Thomas.
Did you know the story?
No, why was because his dad lost a bet in the NBA finals?
What is going on here?
Oh, God.
Because reasons?
Because Chalupa Batman.
That's why.
Tiktokido Spider-Man.
No, Chalupa Batman.
Oh, I know Chalupa Batman,
but there's also Tiktok Spider-Man.
I have a friend of mine who's about to become a grandfather.
I went to high school with working in the movie theater with.
And he always, he'll be on Instagram pictures of him and his daughter.
And it's like me and my daughter and she's pregnant.
And it's just me and my daughter and Chalupa Batman.
I just like every time he sets it, it just makes me laugh.
Well, I will say my Godson is Tiktok Spider-Man.
Oh, nice.
In the Southwest Division, your Dallas Mavericks.
18 and 38.
Torch in the world.
And we can't spell the Dirk Davidsky's name right on the jersey.
Somebody lost a job.
How in the name of all things,
what's going on with the quality control over there?
Mike Allsai, that's funny.
Getting Dirk Davidsky wrong.
I mean, he's only played here since happy days was real.
Yikes.
Allegedly.
And he is very tall for his eight.
They're 24 games back.
But you know what, Memphis, who they're a game behind,
has lost five in a row.
Memphis is 12 and a half back on,
blah, I bet again.
And New Orleans, five back on San Antonio.
San Antonio now seven and a half back on Houston,
because Houston's one seven on a row.
And I would like to thank Houston for the extra cash on my pocket.
Allegedly.
In the Northwest Division, the Utah Jazz,
but they need to give up that name.
They're a game below 500, but they're only five and a half back.
But you know what, Utah's one eight in a row, sir.
They are a game and a half back on Denver.
Denver is a game back on Oklahoma City,
who was tied with Portland, and they're two back on Minnesota.
So really, this is the only division that's
knocked up in a tight one.
Because from worse, the first is five and a half games.
Yeah.
We just have turned into an old sea captain.
Because I can.
So we won't do if the playoffs started today until next month.
So.
Hold on, I need to do something after that allegedly comment.
Couple of mues.
Oh, I'm not seeing that.
I'm not seeing that.
I don't know what that is.
Couple of music headlines.
God bless the Snoopy Dog Dog.
God bless him.
Because gangster rapper,
to R&B singer,
to Ray Gay star.
I wouldn't say so.
That would be Snoopy Lion.
I wouldn't say so.
But now we found another level because March 16th,
the Snoopy Dog Dog releases.
Bible of love.
No.
He's doing a gospel album.
No, wow.
He unveiled the first track at the BET gospel awards
pre-show a couple of weeks ago.
Apparently was received well.
But this is a thing.
Pick an identity and stick with it Snoop.
Please.
But you know what, he's Snoop.
Like he's the problem.
And now he's got a series on Netflix too
about him coaching the football league.
That has done great things.
But by favorite part, have you watched the trailer for this?
Have you seen the uniforms these kids are wearing?
No.
One of the teams, and I'm not kidding you,
and you can look this up because it's in the trailer.
The side of their helmets
is the Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill.
I'm not kidding you when it's beautiful.
I don't think I've seen anybody furiously text like this before.
Just look up the trailer later.
Don't do it now.
But later, the trailer for Coach Snoop.
And I mean, yeah, he's doing great things,
but he's just all over the map.
When you have that kind of money, do what you want.
That's true.
And news that probably made your wife get go like a school girl this week, sir.
Get ready for this summer.
What's going on this summer?
The Spice Girls reunion tour.
Apparently Victoria has already shot that down.
I was told that she was when they were in the phone,
and she's totally committed.
I read earlier today that she said that ain't happening.
It's always her.
It's always her.
Anytime they get what she got going on.
Be an rich and married to David Beckham.
A little Beckham?
Yeah.
And turning sideways and falling through a crack in the floor.
Yeah, it's such a beauty.
No, no, she get caught on her nose.
It is such a beat down.
She just gets...
I don't even care about this thing.
And neither does my wife, by the way.
But it's always...
She's always the hold up.
She's become the...
She's become the Kim Kutcher.
From the Guardian Victoria Beckham rules out...
You know what?
I was excited.
I was waiting to hear.
Probably would babble on this week.
Because as we all know, Ralph Garmin is Spice Girls fan one,
and that is a true statement, and he admits it.
And he is not ashamed of it.
No matter how many times they try.
Damn it, I'll do Jersey.
All right, let's talk about music new releases this week
and places you get new releases on Fridays.
Fisher Spooner with a brand new album called Sir.
They are a EDM group.
I have a couple of their tracks.
It might iPod.
Pop Evil releases their eponymous album.
They've got a couple of WWE themes.
That's the only reason I know who they are.
I said that sounds familiar.
Senses Fail, which I believe at one point was a favorite of your daughters, sir.
Couldn't tell you.
If there is light, it will find you.
This is the name of the album.
Super chunk is back with what a time to be alive, apparently.
And the Tiger releases an album called Kyoto this week.
Because I need that in my life.
You need any of those albums in your life.
That being said, let's get into some.
Before we get off music news,
we do possibly have a future guest.
Really?
The Shaitan Flanagan,
who is an R&B singer in the Bahamas.
He's my friend of the family.
We'd be honored to be here.
What up, Chiquille?
He said that he would love to come on the show
if he's ever in town.
And I told him that he would be honored.
We would be honored if he did.
We won't even pre-tap it if we didn't.
And if you want to look up, it is S-H-A-T-O-N Flanagan.
He had Shaitan's lyric,
which started to make some headway into some local.
Maybe we could have a collab in studio
with him and the main attraction together.
Oh my.
You know, I never put those two together.
I'm going to quit my job and join a think tank,
because I'm a genius.
That was really horribly.
I just want to say, you were onto something
until it was like, it's not how, or what you said.
It's how you said it.
So let's get into some, uh, some end memoriams,
because we've got a couple of big ones this week.
Oh, yeah.
We start with what could be the most surprising death of the week,
reported by David Simon, originally, who created the wire,
because he was on the wire.
Yes, he was.
The great Reg E. Cathy.
You would remember him as Norman Wilson in the wire.
He was also in the, he was Dr. Franklin Storm
in the last version of Fantastic Four.
He was also in House of Cards.
He got three consecutive Emmy nominations,
including the win in 2015.
I believe he also played Luke Cage's dad
in the current.
I have incarnation.
I haven't gotten there yet.
He was, I'm still, I just finished Jessica Jones.
I've still got to get through Daredevil.
I haven't got to do it either, but I so.
He was born in Huntsville, Alabama,
to an army colonel who fought in three wars,
World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
His wife was a DOD worker and educator.
He, he's, he's also behind a sister.
Spent childhood with his family on a rural farm in West Germany
before returning to Alabama when he was 14.
He was in the highest high school
play of Ticula Mockingbird,
and then he studied at both the theater
at the University of Michigan and the Yale School of Drama.
I did not know this.
One of his earliest roles was on one of my favorite shows coming up
on PBS.
It was a math show called Square One TV.
I forgot.
Now that I'm thinking about it, yes,
I remember him being on that show.
I don't remember that show.
It was, it was all about math.
They actually had a, you know how like three, two, one contact
had the Bloodhound Gang thing.
Yes.
They had something what it was called,
Mathnet.
There's Dragnet with Math.
Oh, okay.
Crimes.
Probably why they watched this show
because I hated Math.
Um, that's for, I forgot that he was in the mask
as well as the bodyguard of the villain.
Is that who he was?
Uh-huh.
Okay, okay, because I saw that kind of thing.
I couldn't place him.
Guested on Star Trek, the next generation,
and homicide life on the street.
He was the corner in seven.
He was also the villain in Puditang.
That would do.
Uh, true villains.
That's, that's, that's songs actually that,
actually that films kind of a guilty pleasure for me.
Uh, let's see.
He also had a recurring,
I'm surprised you didn't bring up the odds connection.
I forgot.
I totally forgot.
Because that's your show.
Yeah, it was.
Uh, he was also in Tank Girl.
Uh, let's see.
He was involved in the Clone Wars, too.
He did some voice of work from the Clone Wars.
He's, he's one of those people that when you look him up,
you, he's that guy in that shape.
Oh, the moment you see his face, you know who he is.
You were correct.
He was James Lucas in Luke Cage.
Uh, reporting to have passed away, uh,
from one cancer.
His first film role was in funny farm.
Chevy's funny farm, 1988.
Wow, that's going back.
Penn and Teller get killed.
He was on board on the 4th of July.
Film locally.
That one, I just, as soon as I saw the notification,
I was like, you got to be kidding.
My heart sank, especially 56, man, 59.
I mean, that's.
This, this, this one, you may not recognize the name,
but you'll understand the importance.
Lin Bolin, B-O-L-E-N, passed away at the age of 76.
Uh, she was the first female vice president of a TV network
at NBC from 1972 until 1976.
She is responsible for commissioning wheel of fortune.
Wow, real.
She is also credited with bringing the, uh, the soap opera to the long form format.
Born in Benton, Illinois, her father was a mine workers union organizer and, uh,
her sister was the first woman stockbroker on the St. Louis Exchange for.
Oh, good lord.
There's some groundbreaking going on in this family.
She went to the College of New York from 61 to 63 where she studied advertising and communications media.
She worked on, in 1961, she worked on a documentary about Twiggy.
She worked on a lot of, uh, documentaries, which included crisis in America, welfare for ABC
and striventies Requiem to Martin Luther King within New York City Ballet.
She developed the extended formats for both days of our lives and another world.
She was also, um, she was the reason that she brought, uh, wheel of fortune was to help expand
their younger fan base.
Because gameshows were more geared towards older people.
Yeah, yeah, true.
She always remembers stumpers the game show.
She was part, she was, uh, I don't recall that.
I do remember, it was very short lived 13 weeks, but I do remember it.
Um, so I mean, that's, that's important.
I mean, she was, uh, no, no, no, no, no, yeah, no, yeah, no, yeah, thank you.
I got to pay more attention to the music.
And in one that hurt me, and not perhaps for the reason that a lot of people did this week,
uh, John Mahoney, 77 years old.
Yeah, uh, a lot of people will always remember him as Frasier's dad, Martin Crane,
for me, completely different reason.
Um, one of my favorite films of all time that I think I have owned on just about every format
possible is say anything.
And John Mahoney, uh, born in blackpool length, just her England.
Oh, shoot, did not know that.
Seventh of eight children in an Irish Catholic family.
Um, they had been evacuated from Manchester because when it was heavily bombed during World War
two, if you've ever seen say anything, he plays Ioni Skye's father.
Uh, uh, amazingly, like somehow being a villain without really being villain as it's.
And if you, I don't want to give anything you haven't seen the film.
And this is actually going to come up later because another story we're going to talk about.
Interesting.
Um, great, very underrated role of his in my opinion.
And as soon as I saw the notification, I went to Instagram and the first post I saw was Qsack.
Yeah, with a still of him from the film.
And then to see him go from a role like he did to Frasier.
But his comedic chops were amazing and his dramatic chops were amazing.
He was a guy that I was a huge fan of.
He was one of those if he's in something, you know, I might stop down.
He's also in a movie that keeps, it's come up like three times in the last couple of weeks for me.
A very underrated Steve Carell film called Dan in real life.
Yes.
He's in that as well.
Uh, he did a couple, he did, um, he appeared as an elderly drag queen in an episode of Er.
And season 13 did not know that.
I dug him his general real guard in the Iron Giant.
So I mean, this is, he was actually really good in the American president too.
I love that movie.
Sir, would you like me to pass her a note and study, huh?
I actually have that on laser disk.
So there's that.
So our deepest and highest condolences and respect to all of their family friends and fans.
Oh, I forgot that he also played slideshow Bob's father in the Simpsons.
Oh, Dr. Swilliger.
Wow.
Well, you know, the funny to that though, is all of this side show family was this cast of
Fraser.
Oh, I never thought about that.
You're right.
Wow.
All right.
Let's talk some NHL standings.
Oh, my God.
What now what?
It all, it all, yeah, it all makes sense now.
Well, it's, it's okay grandpa.
You can't keep up.
Shut up.
That wasn't neat for the record.
All right.
So let's, let's talk NHL standings real quick and get, get ready because it's almost time for
America's favorite game show in the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division because the Atlantic
is in the East.
The Buffalo Sabres are stinking up the joint at 42 points.
They could double, they doubled their points right now.
They would be in the lead by two.
But you know, they're 42 points back.
I'm sorry, they're 37 points back.
So they, if they doubled, yeah, they'd be a little bit over.
But they've won two in a row.
There are five points behind Odorwa.
Odorwa is 14, four points back on the Montreal Canadiens.
Thank you.
Boy, that was like pulling teeth a month ago.
Montreal was a point back on my beloved Florida Panthers who were a point back on Detroit.
Detroit is 18 back on Toronto.
Toronto's three back on Boston, Boston, four back on my beloved Lightning.
Speaking of which, sir, did you see the video I posted a little while ago on Facebook as it
pertains to the Tampa Bay Lightning?
No.
Go to my page.
Okay.
It's, it's captioned denied.
As somebody who grew up playing Goli, I am highly impressed.
That was, there's no way that was on purpose.
But it's still gorgeous.
That's one of those where it's like, I remember being in situations like that.
You flail.
Ooh, look at that.
You flail and you get lucky sometimes.
And in the Metropolitan Division.
The New York Rangers are stinking up the joint there.
But they're only, you know, 11 points back.
It's still kind of a, it's not a division.
They're a point back on the Islanders.
The Islanders are tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Columbus, they're both a point back on the Carolina Hurricanes.
The reason we do that is for years.
I kept screwing up and calling them the Panthers.
Carolina, a point back on the Devils.
The Devils are a point back on Philly.
Philly is three back on Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh now four back on the Washington Capitals.
All right.
In the Western Conference.
In the Central Division that has no Eastern or Western.
The Chicago Blackhawks are stinking up the joint.
They've lost five in a row.
They have 56 points.
There's six back on Colorado.
Colorado's four back on Minnesota.
Minnesota is four back on your Dallas stars
who found the wood shed today as they got beat by Vancouver 6-9.
Let's see.
But they're still a point back on St. Louis.
St. Louis two back on the Winnipeg Jets
and the Jets are two back on Nashville.
In the Pacific Division, the Arizona coyotes.
I still can't get used to that.
They have 36 points.
They could double their points.
They still be two back or they still be four back.
That's two, yeah, four back.
They are 14 behind Van Coover,
who was on a one game win streak.
I want to guess who they were the most for.
They are tied with Edmonton.
They're both 14 points back on Anaheim,
who is tied with Calgary.
They are one point behind the Kings.
The Kings are a point back on St. Jose.
But they're still 10 back on Las Vegas.
That's right.
I said it.
And I'll continue to say it that way.
All right.
Did you see the really, really great video package
that Pittsburgh put together for Flurry, though?
Vegas made its first, or Mark Andre Flurry,
who was a goalie for the penguins for years.
Automatic Hall of Famer.
Yeah.
And is now on Vegas.
Allah, John, Ben, Beesbrook.
The Bees are.
That was my remember.
The Bees are.
Came back and they did this really cool package.
Now usually when somebody comes back after years.
Chad just saw the video.
They're doing, yeah.
They usually...
Oh!
I'm telling you, there's no way that was on purpose.
But they usually do just...
Look it up.
CBS Sports.
Just play.
Just highlights of play or everything like that.
Pittsburgh did this really cool thing
because one of the things of why Flurry was so beloved
was how much community and cherry work he does.
Heck yeah.
So they started off and it's like a five minute video.
First two minutes on ice highlights.
The last three minutes.
This is why we loved you.
And it's all the charity work.
See, that's...
And I was like, that is the classiest thing I've ever seen.
And I have to now on my next trip out to Vegas.
Get my flower dirty.
I have to get it.
All right.
Time for America's favorite game show.
And I had to look up who it was just to be sure.
Well, are you going off of points?
Yes.
Don't?
So...
Oh no, no, there's no goal differential.
It's only the points.
No looking it up.
What is the goal differential for the Arizona coyotes?
Chad.
Seventy.
All right.
Okay, Alex.
Okay, so they've...
Don't, don't, just...
I'm extrapolating off of those assets.
No, no, no.
That violates the rules.
Really?
Yes.
You can't look at anything up.
That's the point of the game.
Okay, fine.
Then I'll do this.
Seventy-one.
Okay, the Arizona coyotes,
after 55 games played,
they are 1332 and 10.
They have 36 points.
They are 16 and 4 at home,
716 and 6 on the road.
So at least they're consistent.
Yeah.
They've lost one in a row.
You both went over.
They're at minus 64.
Yeah, I was...
You know what the worst part is?
I was going to say 65 before that.
And you still went along.
And I still went along.
All right.
I'm going to lost my left.
Let us combine our loves for entertainment and sports.
And we talk a little bit of pro wrestling.
We're going to talk a lot of pro wrestling.
There's a lot going on.
Early in the week,
we thought there might be some beef
with Corey Graves and Booker T
after on Monday Night Raw.
Corey Graves says,
you better be careful.
Coach, watch your tongue
or you might be doing
after a new radio locally.
Yeah, he's still...
He's taking every shot he can.
It's a work.
It's a work.
Oh, okay.
The Miz has signed a new four-year deal.
So, Mazel talked to him.
Now we're talking,
Heyman to induct the Dudley Boys.
That makes more sense than him
inducting Goldberg.
That's the X-Pac thought.
And you said something the other day
about post-Russell Mania,
him moving on to manage Rousy
and getting away from Lesnar?
Well, once Lesnar is done,
yeah, he'll be shifting to Rousy,
allegedly.
Allegedly.
Serena Deeb,
now a trainer at the Performance Center,
and she's getting rave reviews as a trainer.
And I know she had some personal things
she had to overcome.
So we're very...
At this show, we're very excited
that she's doing well.
Let's get into RAW
as I'm clearing out all my notifications.
And we're moving along tonight, aren't we?
All right, so let's turn this down just a wee bit.
Let's get into RAW with our intro.
We are the Kingdoms.
The greatest group in Ring of Honor history.
And you, my friends,
you are checking out the Clubhouse podcast.
Fight the conspiracy and be one of us.
Now, you would say they're Ring of Honor,
but we don't really talk much about Ring of Honor
show itself because it's always 19 years behind.
I still watch it, but still.
You're the one that can.
Yeah, I don't know how I feel about the new RAW graphics.
They're very national geographic-y for me.
Oh, bland.
Yeah, it's...
Um...
God bless you, Richard, Jenny, Rest in Peace.
It's just weird for me.
It's, I don't know, it's like national geographic meets QVC.
I don't know what's going on here.
Did they cut their budget or something?
Watch RAW tomorrow night if you can.
It's really weird.
It's just all these really weird diagonal red,
like white lightning bolts with red...
I can't, it is.
Let me see if it's on the two of you.
It feels like this, huh?
Uh, the Revival needs to work on their jacket game a little bit.
Yeah.
Gotta work on that, boys.
I think they're sampling at this point.
And I guess we're not turning the robes purple anymore
for the Cruiserweights on RAW.
Why bother?
And as we were announcing the women that we're going to be competing
in the elimination chamber, which allegedly
we found out today that it was Mickey James that replaced Nightjacks.
Was the silhouette, Steph?
I think it was.
Because that's all I can...
I'm like, that looks like Steph.
She's not going to be in this, is she?
So, uh, and given the current climate,
was that Bliss Angle segment a good idea?
That made me uncomfortable.
I think that was the point was to get, like, it was one of those things
where it's like any press is good press,
and it's, we're going to make this uncomfortable, let's compete.
So let's talk about it.
And I'm going to, you know, we spent a lot of time tonight
me saying things that I didn't think I would say in this life.
Here's another one.
Thank you, Michael Cole.
Okay.
For introducing us to a new game and not teaching us how to download an app.
But he did over-explain the code.
But it's okay, because he didn't teach us that,
because you have to go back aways.
Oh, no, we've got...
And here, the meltdown
of me freaking out for about five minutes
about Michael Cole teaching us how to download an app.
They had to talk me down afterwards.
We'll have to go find out which ones.
There was a ledge involved.
So Zaryl got his braces.
So somebody's listening to this show,
because last time we were on the air,
we talked about why he...
What's going on there?
Why is he still wearing the mouthpiece?
But I do dig the selfie promo things that they're doing.
I don't know how I feel about that.
I'm really kind of enjoying, because it's different.
Well, what I really find interesting is that those have started
to popping up after Jericho's pitch
on how to make people better at promos.
Did you hear this one?
On talk his Jericho,
he was actually speaking with Dave Meltzer
on their 20 years since the Montreal screw job.
That's right. It's 20 years ago last year, yeah?
Yeah.
But they were talking about going through all of the backstory on it,
and one of the things that Jericho had brought up
was people don't know how to talk anymore.
They know what the script they're giving is,
but they don't know how to play to situations.
Yep.
And he was telling a story about how he got started
with WCW, don't learn how to talk.
And the story that he told was that you had the horseman
all doing their stuff on the Saturday night show.
And he was just sitting in the corner,
and I can't remember who he said, just didn't show up.
Somebody didn't show up to do their spot,
and they said, hey, kid, why don't you give it a shot?
And he learned to do promos, and they gave him pointers,
and different people were working with it.
And he said, take that time when Smackdown goes off the air.
Before you start 205 Live, grab the first person you see,
tell him to hit the ring and cut a promo.
It's not recorded if you want to wind up using it later,
you have the cameras in place anyways.
Yeah.
But it's not on air.
So if they stumble, who cares?
It's a home show they'll learn from it.
And all I can think was, that would make so many segments better.
Agreed.
But he had just gone into the ordeal,
that that's what's missing now.
All right.
And Mandy Rose needs to work with Carmella on the ones he designed.
You mean getting rid of it?
No, the way she roared on Monday night looks fine.
I do like this whole rose gold thing they're doing.
That I dig, that that that's good.
Do you okay over there, sir?
Sorry.
That sounded ominous.
New Japan will be airing their strong style evolved show live on Accent's TV.
The Undertaker is walking in and out.
March 25th at eight Eastern.
And on that event, Rey Mysterio Jr.
will be taking on Dutian Thunder Lager, combined age 415.
That's not fair.
It's only like 98.
But still.
Come on, Jerry Talley.
And I texted Doc with this next headline earlier today,
because Doc is from Memphis.
Memphis Wrestling is going to be returning to a local channel up there.
Channel 30 in April.
It'll be Saturday mornings.
So the Saturday morning local promotion.
Becoming a thing of all her announced that this week.
And in a big surprise that Alex saw in real time,
because ROH was streaming their event Friday Night Live on Facebook.
The 16th member of the Women of Honor Tournament is one Emma.
So I guess the impact thing was like a week.
I guess it's more it's to Neil.
Or to Neil Dashwood.
But she is keeping everything from the all of me.
Oh, absolutely.
Because she had the picture of it on there.
On where the honors Instagram page.
But what was funny was when she first came out,
she didn't have a new shirt.
It looked like she had one of the ones that had Emma
at the bottom with Taylor.
But it says to Neil Dashwood on it, though.
If you look at it, it says actually.
It looks exactly the same, but it says to Neil Dashwood.
Impact notes, because I watched it today.
And since I couldn't record it last week,
because I had schedule conflicts.
Because you know, grazing out of me.
But when they brought out Austin Aries,
did they really telegraph it that badly?
Were Eli Drakes?
I'm the greatest champion that ever lived.
And I could be the greatest wrestler that ever lived.
And I'm like, did you really telegraph this that horribly?
And it's boys insane how little that crowd cares.
Yep.
If you're going to do shots like you do,
stop pumping in crowd noise,
because it just looks worse than it is.
Because it's just like, and nobody's moving.
Nobody's clapping.
Like at least with Nitro, you had some room to work with.
Speaking of that, though,
ROH doing their international taping
in that Nashville Civic Center,
they really made that look good.
Oh yeah, that was a full room.
Uh, and apparently we're now abandoning
the Grand Champion format all together.
I don't know if you noticed that.
But do not watch.
I couldn't stick with it.
Josh Matthews said,
yeah, well, you know, then now that Evan
Bourne is blah blah blah,
or whatever is Matt Sidel.
Yeah, we're just going away from it.
It's going to be straight wrestling now.
So now you have a Grand Champion.
And okay, whatever.
But I think knowing what's coming.
That makes us much sense to see you.
Universal champion.
Knowing what's coming.
But knowing what's coming.
Knowing what's coming.
I think I know why they did it.
Spoiler alert in three, two, don't say the one.
They're putting both of those belts on Austin Aries.
So maybe we're good.
It's already been done.
But it hasn't aired yet.
Yeah.
So I'm wondering if they're just going to meld them
together and be done with it.
Probably.
Um, so when Jay Dutt may be a D-bag,
but you know what, he's really good at the table.
He's really, really good at the table.
I was impressed with him at the table this week.
And this Kira Hogan knockout.
Her Twitter handle is Hogan knows best three.
Yikes.
Really?
Maybe want to change that.
And who is this lady that's there, Renee Young?
And I will say this.
Matthew's shoehorned promos rival tenets.
Uh, I'll tell you what I'm looking forward to.
It's coming up next on pop TV.
It'll be the classic Alec Baldwin,
Jennifer Anderson, rumor has it.
Shut up, Josh Matthew.
You're classic.
I think it isn't me or does Alberto Del Patron's theme
music sound like it was done like on a Casio keyboard from 1986.
No, it was done on a Casio keyboard in 1986.
And that fatal forway match was sloppy.
It was terrible.
Not good.
In other news, uh, there were rumors that triple eight,
oh, no, not rumors, but triple H has taken over 205 live.
Oh, really?
Yes, he is now handling 205 live,
but rumors even more as XFL gets closer,
but Vince is saying that's not the case.
But it's been so long, it only knows.
And now you only have one impact original left with the company.
I was wondering if his name is Abyss,
because Jeremy Borash has signed a John track.
Yay, because
I sort of got a few replaces call.
I might cry because it's just an even exchange.
Are you sure it's not worse?
Because then you get called with a voice effect.
Although these Rusev Day calendars,
have you heard about this?
Oh my god, they had to double the word.
They made 2500 and sold out of them so fast.
They had to order another 5,000.
And it's like, I guess it's a daily calendar.
And every day is Rusev Day.
Oh no, you haven't seen the inside?
No.
Okay, it's a standard calendar.
So you get your month.
So like our Brittany Polymer calendar?
Exactly.
Like our Brittany Polymer calendar.
But you're square for the day.
Literally says Rusev Day with an explanation point on every square.
I love every thing that's going on.
It's so great.
But did you hear the rumor about what they're going to try and do with Rousey and Stephanie?
I know the rumor is that WrestleMania matches
Stefan Triple H versus Rod and Rod.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Raw 25 is going to haunt us.
It's not already.
It's going to get worse if this is true.
The alleged rumor is that the biggest selling story
in the company's history of Mr. McMahon
getting one over on everybody's favorite
Steve Austin.
We're going to get part D
of Mrs. McMahon trying to get one over on Rousey.
And they're going to try and shoehorn that in
and try and make Stephanie mainstream.
Hold on, we have a call coming in.
Yep.
Okay, still a bad idea.
Still a bad idea.
Yes, yes.
I saw that and immediately thought I have to bring this up.
The main event at Fastlane will now be a fatal four-way.
For now.
Because the winner of the Ziegler Corbin match
on this week's SmackDown Live is going to be in the match
and Ziegler has reportedly signed a new two-year deal.
Oh, really?
Read that today.
Couple of SmackDown Live notes.
So are we just killing time with the Bloods and Brothers
until we call up War Machine?
Because we're just throwing them job or fodder.
Did you see the bait on that, though?
With newzos?
Yeah.
The whole thing with the whole Bloods and Brothers.
I kind of think even, but I think even the
Uso's are going to have to be like,
there's no way we can carry these guys.
They're trying.
They're great.
And a top 10 list?
What did I miss?
That was terrible.
That was horrible.
This is a horrible idea.
Oh, yeah.
SmackDown now has a top 10 list of superstars
compiled by the SmackDown superstars
who cannot vote for themselves.
Or heels, apparently.
And then we'll Brian look like he was trying
desperately not to throw up in his mouth.
And then we had a US title match with the Bulgarian
and the Canadian.
So go figure there.
So Orton's now Austin.
Is that what we're doing?
And I feel like the
the text on this, like when they're putting the text of the promo
on the screen when they're talking,
like that works for the mixed match challenge.
It does not work for SmackDown.
Not at all.
It's very annoying.
And especially for Gabel and Benjamin.
Weapons of tag destruction.
This is what we're doing.
All right, let's move on and do some new movie news.
War machine hurry up.
Oh, please.
For the love of the old mighty hurry.
All right, we can box office numbers
as we get into movie talk.
Dropping out of the top 10 this week.
We have two films dropping out of the top 10.
Hostels drops from six to 12.
$2.7 million, eight weeks, 25 million.
And seven strong drops from seven to 11 this week.
$2.7 million, four weeks, $42 million.
Den of thieves drops from eight to 10.
Just under $3 million, four weeks, $41 million.
So they're doing okay.
Shape of water stays in ninth place.
$3 million, 11 weeks right at 50 million.
The post drops from five to eight,
$3.5 million, eight weeks,
$73 million on a $50 million budget.
This winchester with the Helen Mirren.
You're looking very confused, sir.
Do you not know about this?
It's based on the true story.
I know about it.
Oh, yeah, I'm on board.
Drops from the bronze medal to seventh place this week.
$5 million, two weeks, 17.2.
Apparently she was in town.
Really?
For the Dallas premiere at the the cinema market legacy.
Not like, yeah, legacy.
She and the other guy whose name escapes me right now.
We're both there.
Jason Clark?
Yeah, okay.
Friend of the show, Raymond Garcia was there.
Put some pictures up on Instagram.
Sean's been begging me to take her to see winchester.
I just don't know if I can do it.
I'm like, unless it's talked,
unless it's about David Ogden's tears.
I really don't care.
Dropping from the silver medal to sixth place this week.
May's runner of the death cure.
$6 million, $3 weeks, $49 million, $62 million budget.
And we will wait on your opinion, still Donna's back.
Oh, no, Donna knows my opinions.
Yeah, there's some points of contention between you two on that film.
Yes, there is.
The greatest showman still on the top five.
Dropping from fourth to fifth this week.
$6.4 million, $8 weeks, $146 million, $84 million budget.
So they got it there.
Oh, yeah.
Jumanji, welcome to the jungle.
Finally, out of the top spot, $9.8 million, $8 weeks, $366 million.
On a $90 million budget.
The 1517 to Paris debuts in the bronze medal position.
Don't get used to it.
Best art court.
Current Rotten Tomatoes rating, 21%.
And drop it.
Yeah, $12.6 million, $30 million budget.
So it should still make its money.
Peter Rabbit debuts in second place with $25 million.
That's halfway to budget.
Wait, where this is going?
Yeah.
Take your money, 50 shades.
$38.6 million, $55 million budget.
Look at your watch.
It says $14.59, moving on.
Thank God, it's over.
Back to our Super Bowl coverage.
The Cloverfield prequel sequel thing.
The Cloverfield paradox wound up on Netflix and dropped right after the Super Bowl.
It's a very gutsy move and did very, very well.
As far as numbers go.
Uh-huh.
Well, yeah.
But that's how they close on Netflix.
But they do say that the next major movie will still come out later this year.
Okay, so the God Particle is still a thing.
I thought that was the God Particle, but I guess I was wrong.
Okay, David S. Goyer now not directing Masters of the Universe.
This is not going to happen, people.
Just let it go.
Let's just call it a day.
Walking Phoenix now being talked to to play the Joker in the origin film.
You know what?
I can see that more than I can see to Caprio.
It's a vexasme.
I'm very back.
That's not saying much.
No, it's not.
What if I told you Matt Smith is going to play Charles Manson?
Okay.
Don't call Charlie Says.
Interesting call.
Matt Smith kind of does look like a charming psychopath, so it kind of works.
Now this obviously is in the Tarantino thing.
No.
No.
I guess.
I mean, I don't think so.
Now you're going to make me look it up.
This is revenue radio.
Oh, it's fascinating.
I don't even know if Tarantino's so picked a tie.
Well, the Carla Dut Geno's in it, so you know our man.
No, this is being directed by Mary Heron.
And she would know her from such films as
she's got some skins on the wall.
Notorious Betty Page, the Moth Diaries,
I shot Andy Warhol in a little opus
called American Psycho.
Oh, oh, wow.
So Michael Bay and talks to director Lobo.
That Lobo.
DC Comics.
That Lobo.
Not the trucker from the 70s.
No, he was a car.
That was sheriff Lobo.
That was quality.
Oh, that was a different.
No, I'm referring to DC Comics.
DC, yeah, Lobo.
Yeah.
Leave it above Michael Bay.
If it gets, I mean, you know, we say that.
I mean, but we all have at least a handful of films
from Michael Bay that we like.
Is it a handful?
We can act like we don't.
Is it a handful?
Is it a handful?
The rock, I like.
Okay, check.
But always that I like.
I know you do too, sir.
I know.
I'm not saying that I don't.
But after Age of Extinction, I said,
I'm no longer a Michael Bay apologist.
I can't.
No, I've never been an apologist,
but I will be at least willing to admit
that he does films that I do enjoy.
He also does films that I think are absolute.
Dreck.
But.
Age of Extinction.
Yeah, yes.
If he can, I mean,
if they can bring Lobo to the screen,
bring it to the screen.
Not with Michael Bay.
But I don't know if anybody else would be
willing to touch that property.
After the success of Deadpool.
Oh, I think everything's fair game.
Everything's fair game.
Everything's fair game.
But Deadpool is so much more mainstream
than Lobo has ever been.
And I love Lobo.
I love the character.
I would challenge that because
if you put 100 average Joes in a room
five years ago and ask them who Deadpool was,
you'd get a lot of, I don't know,
isn't that a dirty Harry movie?
But you'd get a lot more people that would know
rather than I think people that know
who Lobo is.
I think you'd be surprised.
Well, five years ago,
it would have been everybody going,
wait, you mean that crappy thing
at the end of Wolverine origin?
Says the guy wearing the
we're also going to be getting a
V to show the movie.
I saw that today from the original creator,
Kenneth Johnson.
But that's not the intriguing part.
I didn't get, I didn't read the story.
I saw that.
It's who's behind it.
A name we haven't heard in a long time.
Very nice.
Desi Lou Studios.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah, that flew me for a loop.
Didn't realize that was still a thing.
I was like, um, I have a question.
Neither Desi nor Lou are still around.
I didn't realize they were still cranking out product.
Maybe they were involved in the original,
but I mean, I can't imagine.
Have they kept it around just to sell DVDs?
Maybe so.
Well, I mean,
they've, it's also known as Culver Studios.
Oh, wait a minute.
So they've been doing, they, they've did
arrest the development scrubs in Cougar Town.
So it's the same.
That's why Culver O's.
Okay, all right, all right.
Yeah, Culver does subtle.
It's still weird to call it Desi Lou.
Moving New releases in places you get
moving New releases this week.
Somebody's going to get to see this movie early
and I think it's going to be me.
Black Panther.
Oh, I can't wait.
This is excited.
Screens Tuesday, Tuesday afternoon.
I can't go.
Oh, I'm the only member of Clubhouse Proper that cannot go.
Ouch.
Yeah.
Early man, which we saw yesterday,
you'll get our thoughts later this week.
It's the people who did Wallace and Grommett Ardman.
And it's about a bunch of cavemen
who end up getting their village ransacked
by a bunch of people that have already adapted
into the Bronze Age.
Um, I think it's very nice and subtle
that the cavemen have British accents
and the villains have French accents.
And the way they're going to try to get their
village back is to play a soccer match against them.
I love the look on his face right now.
I'm telling you the worst part is, is
everything I've seen
pales in comparison to make me want to see the movie.
Audience starts in it.
So what you just described.
Audience starts in it.
Mazey Williams.
Yes.
No, no.
Your description just now was the only thing I've seen
or heard that actually made me want to see it.
I'm telling you, I mean, the bar goes up
so we can, we don't even have to bury the lead.
I love this movie.
It's cute.
It's so much fun.
Okay.
My wife was rolling.
There are.
Well, that's because she got an added.
Well, but again, yeah.
Also, I have not heard Jules Giggle that loud
and that much in a movie in
years.
To the point where I was almost like,
looking for a place to hide.
Oh, she could not have had more fun in that hour
in 26.
Was there a lot of British heavy humor that might not play here?
No, I think that if you have what?
No.
If you are someone who is deeply engaged in the food bowl,
you probably, there were some references
that would have gotten past me.
But nothing that didn't make that like,
it didn't take away from my enjoyment of it.
It didn't, it didn't, they're sailing over your head.
In the final match,
the queen brings in her own commentating team,
which we were told afterwards is a parody
of two of the major English soccer
announcers.
Okay.
And the pun use.
It's just brutal.
See what I did there?
Oh, yeah, that's literally at one point.
He actually says, see what I did there?
And there's at one point, like,
I didn't realize it, but Chad was in a row
in front of me and forced each down and he heard me go,
oh.
Like, there's one that you just see it coming.
Yes, and you can't get away from it.
And it's not going to stop.
And here it comes.
And it hits you like a freight train.
And then it's heard him just like, rock me.
Yeah, it was.
It was an absolute just,
but I didn't have a prop.
But it was still funny.
Don't get me wrong.
It was as as chickpea likes to say,
comedically hilarious, but I do demand an apology.
Yeah.
I mean, it good mercy.
It was bad, but it's such a fun movie.
But it was intentionally bad.
And what I really liked about it,
and we'll talk about this in our iTunes exclusive
that's coming up later this week,
what I really dug about it was,
number one, you can do a kids movie in an hour and a half.
Let's get reminded of those days.
Number two, part of the problem we have
with a lot of kids movies now is they shove a bunch
of adult humor in it to keep the adults engaged.
They didn't do that here.
The former Disney phenomenon.
Right.
They didn't do that here.
And it was still incredibly enjoyable
as a quote-unquote grown-up,
who again, I guarantee you there's references in that,
that got away past me.
And I know one of the references even got past Chad,
but I caught it.
And I'm going to mute the mics because I need to say this.
That's real, that's real.
And I saw it.
I don't think anybody else, because Chad,
because I'm like, and Chad's like,
it's one of those where it flies by so quickly.
It's on a training card.
And Chad's like, really?
I'm like, no, that's a thing.
He's like, oh man.
The biblical,
the whole,
faith-based film.
Samson hits the big screen.
Let me give you, what scares me
is I look at this cast,
and I go, if you made this movie 30 years ago,
you might have something.
I mean, first of all, you got to respect any guy whose name is
Jackson Rathbone.
No, you don't.
Yes, you do.
That's trying to learn.
He was in the Twilight saga.
All the more reason he played, he played Jasper Hale.
He's also on, he's on that TNT, the last ship.
He was on that show.
He was also on Finding Carter,
which is not the same as Finding Force,
are you all of mine now, dog?
Wow.
You really wanted to bring that up after our text.
Billy Zane, Rutger Hauer, and Lindsay Wagner are in.
Oh, geez.
That says that 30 years ago.
You got something.
Yeah, the year 1980s called.
What, oh geez, are you doing over there, sir?
The, the, the pun that made you groan.
Uh-huh.
That was the early working title for the film.
Oh, thank god it wasn't because that,
that would have buried the lead.
Or I would have needed it to.
Also this week, looking glass.
Get ready for this one, kids.
A couple by a desert motel where they find that strange,
mysterious events occur.
They're a white rabbit involved.
Mike Bluckis, a Mark Bluckis.
God that you would recognize.
Robin Toney.
They have a Robin Toney siding and get ready
to get in the cage with Nick Cage.
Because he's in this too.
I mean, there's, it's just a weird time of year for movies.
Because there's great stuff out there
that you're like, oh, you got that going for.
Yeah, which is nice.
Also a movie called Honor Up.
Are you ready for this?
Oh, no.
H-O-N-O-R-Up.
This is so obscure.
The plot line on IMDb is, know what this is about.
Be the first to add a plot.
What?
Yeah, Damon Dash is directing this.
Oh, no.
So you know who stars in it.
Oh, no.
Hello, Stacey Dash.
How you doing?
Nicholas Totoro.
Michael Rispoli.
Rispoli.
Damon Dash is in it.
Cameron is in it.
Oh, yeah.
Can't wait not to see this.
And a movie that's been showing a lot
on nothing but trailers.
And I thought it wasn't supposed to come out
until this fall.
But it's called The Party.
Have you seen this trailer, sir?
No.
Janet hosts the party to celebrate her new promotion.
But once the guest arrives,
it becomes clear that not only is everything
going to go down as smoothly as the red wine.
This is completely in black and white.
Timothy Spall, Kristen Scott Thomas,
Patricia Clarkson, Bruno Gans,
Cherry Jones, Emily Mortimer, and Sillian Murphy.
These are cast.
That's a really good cast.
It is a dark comedy in the biggest of ways.
Interesting.
What is this called again?
The Party.
DVD and Blu-Wright New Releases in places
you get DVD and Blu-Wright New Releases this week.
Pokemon the movie.
I choose you.
Stephen will be very happy with that.
Two Criterion Collection releases this week.
One we've already mentioned on this show
a couple of weeks ago.
It's time.
But the first one, Chad, you'll be interested
in this Criterion Collection.
Nine of the Living Dead.
Wow.
I thought I was already there.
And this week because this week
will be the
29th Anniversary
on Wednesday of the release of said film.
The Criterion Collection.
Do you hear the live screaming cruddies?
That's already been in the Criterion Collection.
This is the Blu-Wright release.
Oh, okay, okay.
They're finally releasing it on Blu-Wright
with a 4K restoration.
Oh, yeah, I might have to get to this.
Yes, I'm on.
So,
Tech Corner.
Marvel will be doing his first ever scripted podcast
on Stitcher.
It's going to be called Wolverine the Long Night.
10 episodes start on March the 12th.
Interesting.
And something I think you'll be interested in, sir.
We have Kingdom Hearts 3 news.
It will have a monster's inquiry.
I saw it.
I saw it.
I saw it.
I saw the clip.
Sure, your daughter will be very interested in that as well.
Yeah, as am I.
I say his daughter.
It's my goddaughter.
I should know who she is by now.
Any Tech Corner stuff you want to bring up?
Probably get to the list.
No, go ahead, get to the list.
All right.
Do this.
Interesting list tonight.
In the top of the show, I, when I introduced myself,
I mentioned that Jim Blossoms now following me on Twitter
as well as their drummer.
So the band's official Twitter feed
and the drummer now following me on Twitter.
He's so happy to show this.
Because last night,
Charlotte and I got to go to House of Blues Dallas.
And we got to go see Jim Blossoms.
One of my favorite bands of all time.
I've now seen them three times.
But this was the first time that I saw them
in a theater setting.
The first time I saw them was at Taste Addison
about 10 years ago.
Second time I saw them was two years ago
in Allen as part of their July 4th celebration.
Very strange that they ended the show with found out about you
as a downer.
But this is the 25th anniversary.
Actually, it's 25, 26th they're on that tour.
Of the 25th anniversary of their biggest album,
New Miserable Experience,
which is to quote Emperor Pewter Schmidt from Family Guy.
That was the soundtrack to my 92 and my 93.
It is one of these seminal albums of my life.
New Miserable Experience is one of those
if I could take 10 CDs to an island,
which is a list we're never going to do
because it would take me three days,
just to whittle it down to 10.
But this one would be on that list.
Not a bad song on the entire album.
They talked last night about how the album
almost didn't get released.
There were some problems with the band.
They almost broke up when they were making the album.
They had a horrible tragedy happen shortly thereafter.
But it's an amazing album.
Songs like Hey, Jell-Acee found out about you
until I fall away.
One of the greatest non-country country songs ever,
which is actually not sung by the lead singer.
It's called Cheaton.
And in the chorus, it says you can't call it Cheaton
because she reminds me of you.
So since they're celebrating the 25th anniversary
of the album that sold over six million copies,
they played the entire album beginning to end in the exact order.
So we started with Lost Horizons and ended with Cheaton.
I really thought that they would play a couple of songs
because when I saw Rush on the time machine tour
and they did all of moving pictures,
they played three or four or five songs
and then they went into it.
No sir, right out of the gate.
Here's Lost Horizons, here we go.
Now I realized I was kind of rusty
because having a digital medium,
I don't have to remember the order of the tracks.
So in my head, I was like, I think this one's next.
But still sounded just like it did 25 years ago.
They did an amazing job.
So after they played all of new miserable experience,
they played about an hour 45.
Wow, did a great set, rolled out the hits.
Came out for the encore and it was just a lead singer
in his acoustic guitar.
And he dedicated a song to their bass player
and it was the Backstreet Boys.
I wanted that way.
Oh my god.
And of course the entire House of Blues is singing along.
And then they came out and did follow you down
and they ended with a Tom Petty cover
that I didn't recognize.
Also an interesting announcement,
a couple of them were made during the show.
New album coming from Jim Blossom's and a few months,
they played one of the new tracks.
It's a little more stripped down than I'm used to from them,
but I enjoyed it.
And their lead singer is now splitting time.
He's still working with Jim Blossoms,
but he's now also the new lead singer of the Smytherines.
What?
Because as we know a couple of months ago,
their lead singer passed away.
Right.
So he's now singing with them as well.
Wow.
So he said, yeah, we had seven weeks off,
which is the most time we've had off in 20 years.
And I went and joined another band and built another studio.
I'm a freaking idiot.
Well, one of the songs they played that was off of their second album,
he actually had to Google the lyrics because he forgot him the night before.
It was a great show.
Charlotte came with me.
We had an amazing time.
It was everything I wanted it to be.
Because you know I'm a huge fan of this band.
And I have been since the first time I heard hate jealousy.
I've even got the EP that came out before that called Up in Crumbling.
I have the single for
till I hear it from you, which has 88 summers to be side.
I've got weird live albums that they've done and things like that.
So I was thinking about it.
It's not the first time that I've gone to a show
and I've seen where they've played an entire album beginning to end.
And it seems to be the trend that's happening right now.
Who started that here?
Because as you like the first time I remember hearing about it,
it was Judas Priest.
I don't remember who did it first.
But I've made a list of the top 10 albums done live I want to see.
There's a caveat to this.
I had to
pick
albums that it's possible to see.
Okay, okay.
So you have to take prints out of the list
because you'll never see it.
Right.
And it's purest form.
There goes all of Chad's list.
Well, I mean, no, Chad's got other artists.
I mean, I'm sure ICE castles could be on his list from the top 10.
You know.
So again, there's other ones I could put on this list,
but I can't because it would never happen for whatever reason.
Like I would love to put synchronous city on that list.
It'll never happen.
The police did it once and it'll never happen again.
So the likelihood of number 10 is slim, but it is still possible.
I would like to see New Edition do home again.
Because that album was all six of them together.
Easily my favorite New Edition album was done in 96 because it's solid from beginning to end.
It was an album that when you watch the New Edition story,
they weren't all in the best of shape mentally and some of their bloodstreams.
But that album is incredibly strong, incredibly strong.
I would love to see them do that entire album.
If I can't any heartbreak would be nice, but you have nobody.
Because that was the first album with Johnny.
Home again is all six of them together.
Were they still working with Jam and Lewis at that point?
Any heartbreak or home again?
I think part of it.
I know any heartbreak was all of them.
Number nine, and this is going to be one that I don't think a lot of people were
kind of raised in eyebrow at because of what it is.
I'd like to see heart do their self-titled album.
Because it was that phase of their career where they weren't this niche act anymore
and they were trying to stay relevant so they went the real hair metal,
hair rock way.
I mean that's where these dreams came from.
That's where, you know, that was the,
debatably their biggest album.
Yeah, that was what, 85?
Somewhere in that vicinity.
I love that album.
And I mean, you know, and they're still getting it done live.
All you got to do is...
And Wilson's vocals are still dead on and Nancy plays guitar like there's no tomorrow.
All you got to do is watch the,
whatever, what was it?
Whenever Zeppelin went into the Kennedy Center Honors
and came out and did stairway.
Dude, I'm telling you, if you weren't convinced before.
They did a concert on what's now access TV if you can find it.
Where they come out, the opening is just the two of them
and they do crazy on you.
Acoustic.
That will give you goosebumps.
I think I've heard that.
And if you have a, like you have a decent home theater system to hear it in that surround sound,
it's insanity.
Yeah, but these were not involved in home again.
It was germane to pre and germane.
Oh, okay.
And at least it wasn't the one after that where Puffy got his puffy-ness all over.
Number eight, Tears for Fear's Songs from the Big Chair.
Yes, absolutely.
And they're still great live.
Hey, you have a guy in your manager's name is Roland Orzabal.
I'm in.
And, and Gartsmith.
That's right.
Number seven, this might take you a little off guard.
Because in this genre, I don't know that it's ever been done.
I want LL to do Mama said knock you out, open it again, open it, open it close.
I think it has been.
I think it has been.
No, I mean, not him, but I think somebody in that in that genre of music has done it.
Okay.
I can't tell you who, but I've got it.
But in its purest form, though, I don't know.
What do you consider its purest form, though?
The original artist doing it themselves.
Not anybody is subbing, not anybody coming in.
The artist doing what they do.
No, I think I think a hip hop act has done this, but I can't tell you off the top of my head who it was.
Number six, and number five, I had to pick two because I didn't want to do two by the same artist.
Because they're both my leaders.
Number six, I'd like to see face value or no jacket required.
I like to see Phil do that.
Okay.
Number five, Billy Joel, I'd like either Stormfront or Glass Houses.
I figured Glass Houses would be on the list.
Well, Stormfront is actually my favorite album of his.
To me, Stormfront is, you know, how you and I argue different Prince albums.
And I love Diamonds and Pearls because to me it is a complete album beginning to end.
I love every track and I know you and I differ light years on that for various reasons.
That's why I feel about Stormfront.
There is not a single track on Stormfront if I played that entire CD that I would skip.
Glass Houses maybe has less of a chance, but if he wanted to do that, I'd be totally equated with the two.
That's why I picked the Phil two early albums.
Because I love Butt Seriously.
It's one of the very first CDs I ever bought.
But there's a couple of tracks on there that made me want to do this one.
Or it's the song 19 minutes long.
But those two for me, that's the perfect time for him.
Because songs like Who Said I Would, One More Night,
you know, don't lose that number, which could be one of my favorite Phil Collins songs ever.
Just because of the video.
If I say because it's one of my favorite videos of his.
Number four, this one might surprise you.
Cheryl Crowe, Tuesday Night Music Club.
Why would that surprise me?
That might just a little bit.
Maybe not.
No, not at all.
That album is another one of those ten I've taken this because it's solid.
She's one of both of my leaders.
So number three through one shouldn't surprise anybody.
Number three, Van Halen 1984.
Because I just that's to me that's I know a lot of people go dive or down or one or two.
1984 was that that album that captures a very specific time in my life
where everything was happening.
And that that album was everything.
That was their thriller.
That was their program and the end of an era.
Number two, this should not surprise anyone in any way shape or form
because I've owned this album on every format except for A-Track.
And I don't think it was even available on a track.
I've had it on cassette.
I've had it on vinyl.
I've had it on CD.
I have a digital.
Aureo Speedwagon high-end fidelity.
A lot of people are like that.
No, trust me.
This is the album.
If you go and look through that track listing,
you know half that album.
Yeah.
If you grew up in the MTV era.
And my favorite Aureo Speedwagon song is on the second side of that album.
And it's one that I wish they would have released as a single
because it's an amazing and it's called Wish You Were There.
It's...
It's cronin' not being cronin' all the time.
Had you known Kevin Cronin's got to sing up here every day?
Yeah.
It's more toned down and it's almost a blues.
Imagine a rock and roll version of, I'll take you there.
Okay.
Same basic premise.
But just more of a rock and roll song than an R&B song.
What is he doing?
It is available on H-Rack.
For $18?
Dude, I think that would be worth it just for the sake of being a completist.
I would say, yeah.
I mean, and find it for me on mini-disc and I think we might be okay.
Good luck.
And number one,
you can probably guess the artist which you probably can't guess the album.
Because this is an album that purests fans of this person would go, you're insane.
But it's my list, go pound sand.
You know, why is that not playing the other song?
I need to play the other song.
Thank you.
Because this album by this artist, I knew who this artist was.
But
it was, he was never really on my radar.
Until I was introduced to this album, the summer after I graduated high school.
I was working at a summer camp.
Right, I mean, literally, I graduated on a Saturday Sunday morning.
I was on a train to go to counsel at this summer camp.
And I met up with a guy that I'd known the summer before when I was a junior counselor.
His name is Larry Gray.
He lives in the Atlanta area.
I didn't get to see him when I was in Atlanta.
I was kind of bummed.
I haven't seen him in 25 years.
But we were friends on Facebook and we talked from time to time.
And this was a guy that really kind of helped me.
You know how everybody goes through that weird phase in college where your musical taste just get
you look back and you go, did I really listen to that?
Larry, there's a lot of things that get introduced in college.
That leads to that.
Larry, we called him Larry Bo.
He introduced me to, he got me through that phase by introducing me to like a real artist.
And not crappy college radio artists.
Larry, this is a side note fact that I don't know that anybody knows.
Well, I probably handful of people know this.
If it wasn't for Larry Bo,
Bam Bam never becomes a thing.
Really?
Because the origins, which I did a blog series on the origins of the nickname,
it started at that summer camp, which was a sub camp of the camp I was originally
supposed to go to. I got sent to another camp for three weeks.
And there was a song by a group called Young and Restless.
South Florida stay with me.
Be girls.
You know where I'm going with this.
Was that, was that a thing on here?
These stands for Broncos, BMW, bass, bangos and a pair of bars.
Huge in South Florida.
Huge.
Well, we had some girls on staff that loved that song so much
that they were, they gave everybody on staff nicknames that started with B.
Bam Bam was originally pitched to Larry.
Larry wanted Bubba.
So Bam Bam actually fell to me.
So if Larry picks it, that whole legend never happens.
So you become Bubba?
I probably would have at that point.
So Larry Bo introduces me to this album.
And I won't say it changed my world.
But this was back when CDs came in long boxes.
Oh yeah.
I literally cut the cover off of the long box.
And it was on the wall in my dorm room freshman year of college.
That's how much this album affected me.
James Taylor's new moonshine.
Okay.
Absolutely.
This album, his cover of the water is wide.
Is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
Because it's just him and an acoustic guitar.
There's a song on there called like everyone she knows that absolutely destroys me
every time I hear it.
Edwin McCain actually covered a song off of this album called,
I've got to stop thinking about that.
Which is one of my favorite lines in a song where he talks it.
It's about a girl he dated that he's that's not with him anymore.
And I got to stop thinking about that.
Well, he says, I wonder who will be loving you next.
Some fools going to be writing bad checks.
Oh yeah, you told me about that.
And he played it on SNL.
He, he guessed it on SNL right when that album came out.
So he played that and he played a song called,
shed a little light which he's, he did recently
for Martin Luther King Day because it opens up.
Let us turn our thoughts today to Martin Luther King
and recognize that there are ties between us,
oh men and women living on the earth.
We are bound together.
He did both of those songs on SNL.
That album, I mean the man has done.
He is another one of my leaders that he's one.
If I can see him, it'll be a bucket list.
But I'd have to take out a second mortgage on the house to do it.
If I could see that album done live,
because I've got his double live album,
which some of that's on there.
But I want to see that album done beginning to end.
I would be a happy camper.
So shout out to Larbo.
Assuming he's listening, I don't think he.
But that's the list.
Anything you want to add to it.
And remember, the caveat is it has to be plausible.
Gosh, I don't know, because I mean,
I mean, would you, you would do ice cream castles?
Well, would you know what?
I would do the original seven,
because that album was amazing.
Condensation?
Yes.
That's condensation.
Condensation, what's condensation?
They had the time I'd rename himself
the original seven,
because Prince wouldn't let him use the time at the time.
And they did an album called condensation, that's, oh.
Mm-hmm.
That was about five years ago, was that it?
Give or take.
Maybe some of seal stuff,
like does he have to do in its entirety?
I would say seal two.
Or even soul or soul two.
Yeah, but those are cover albums, though.
But still, I'd love to see what you talk about.
I would say original.
I would say seal two.
Because seal one,
it's got its moments,
but it's not nearly as consistent as seal two.
He evolved dreaming in metaphors.
So prayer for the die.
Yeah.
I mean, the opening track,
why was Bring It On?
Not a single.
I don't know.
I cannot figure it out.
That's where kiss from a rose comes from.
I mean, that album,
start to finish is nothing short of mind-blowing.
And I saw a clip online recently,
him doing Bring It On, where
Wendy Melvoine is playing guitar
and Susanna Melvoine was playing bass.
I've seen it and I don't know where it was,
but I've seen it where he did it acoustic.
That was-
Well, it's on the hits album.
It's on, there's an acoustic album.
No, but he did an entire acoustic.
I'm talking like acoustic live.
Oh.
Like an unplugged type.
Yeah, he did it on plugs.
Did he do it on plugs?
Yeah, he did it on plugs it.
But was it on that set?
I don't.
Because I have that greatest hits album
where the second album is everything acoustic.
And it's marvelous.
It's absolutely gorgeous.
I'm going to sing out.
But I mean, think about it.
I mean, the majority of the people
that I would be willing to pay top dollar four
to see live, most of them are gone.
Right.
But I'm not saying top dollar,
just what albums you'd like to see done
beginning to end by that artist.
DePesh, I would love to see them do violator.
Ooh, that would be good.
I'd be okay with that.
Um, would you see
Robert Smith?
Robert Smith.
Never was a big fan of the show.
You know what?
I'm not a huge fan of the cure,
but that greatest hits album,
galore is something else.
They had their moments for me,
but I was never really deeply entrenched in people.
Plus, I wanted to make that South Parker.
Yeah, I'm sure.
I'm sure you're looking.
Hi, Robert Smith.
I'm sure you're looking to shoehorn that in there.
This integration is the greatest album ever.
Haha.
Um, but yeah, I mean,
everybody else as far as like,
you know, Prince Michael,
George Michael, Steve Irvon,
can't do it.
So there's one that I would love to see,
but I've pretty much seen it.
But not all in a row.
And people are going to be like,
Rob, that's not on your list.
Crack review.
That does kind of shock me that you didn't say.
It's an obvious choice.
Well, so is James Taylor.
Yeah.
Matchbox 20 yourself or someone like you,
that first album was amazing.
I figured you would have a sting album on that list.
It's something that I can't give you a,
a seminal sting album.
Like he's got great music.
If you stretch it out over a seven or eight album,
because some of it just gets weird.
It doesn't get a little
heavy for his.
Because I mean, if you love somebody,
set them free is a song that,
if you don't like, you're a communist.
Because it's amazing.
You lose the news sports?
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, right there with you.
And even their cover album, I'm a big fan of.
But you're right, though.
I mean, we're getting to that point in our lives where
it's getting more and more unlikely.
And artists don't have to do albums anymore.
No, you know.
Um, journey escape.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
White snake self title album or
still the night either one.
I thought that was the self title album.
No, still the night was its own album.
Ah, you sure about that?
I don't recall that being the title of the album.
I thought it was just being,
thought it was just white snake.
We're here.
I go again and still the night we're all on it.
Yeah, I know.
We're here.
I go again and is this lover on the same album?
So is still that that's on that album, too.
Because I had it.
It's the only white snake album I ever had.
And I thought it was just a self title album.
And I'm going to make a movie with this app.
See, the other hard part about this is I keep thinking about
what albums would I think.
And every one of them, I'm like, can't do that.
Not a lot.
I can't do that.
That was the challenge for me as I was sitting here putting this.
Oh, you're right.
So the night's on that album.
Well, it's one of those where it's like one of the ones that pops into my mind.
Maybe the less popular or more mainstream pick would be like the black album
from Metallica, but they're not together.
Yeah, they are.
Well, they're that version of it.
Yeah, that version with new stead.
Yeah.
I do love that S&M or Kestrel album.
Oh, I still to this day will listen to that relief clover.
That version of fuel.
Oh, I wish more groups would have done that too.
Yeah, that's a kind of win away.
Yeah, after Kestrel and them.
Kestrel was kind of weak though over.
Well, the problem was as they thought it was pretty cool.
Yeah, well, it's always going to be.
Hello, people.
Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop.
That was for you, Dump.
That was for you, G Daddy.
Well, it's one of those where Metallica did such a great job with it.
Or let me rephrase.
The San Francisco Philharmonic and Metallica.
Yeah, Michael came into it with you.
Read his line or nose if you have it.
It's really, really cool.
He talks about like, I see people that have played
in front of millions of people at an intermission
just drenched in sweat and their ties are all screwed up.
But it's something to think about and make your own list.
Send them to us.
We'd like to see what you guys think as well.
