West Coast. It is the 8th of February in the year of our Lord, 2015. It is Season 5, Episode 27,
chronologically episode 286. The clubhouse is live and on the air, we welcome you no matter
how you're listening, whether you're live on you stream, whether you're listening on our archive,
or whether you subscribe on iTunes, so you even get stuff that the live people don't get.
We're just glad you're here. My name is Rob, and I have a sword.
That's right, you heard me. I have a brand new office chair and a sword in the last two weeks.
Now, if my brand new office chair were the iron throne, then we'd have a whole different show going on right now.
Just saying. But I am not alone for this particular episode. Let us introduce you to the other
people in the room, sitting to my left across the desk as he does each and every week
is a man who has learned a whole new way to drink milk this week.
And not just because he's not drinking it, I have a sippy cup anymore. He is Chad,
welcome to the show sir. And we will go into that in much greater detail later. You're darn right.
When you kind of stole my thunder. Did I? Yeah, you did. When you mentioned the iron throne,
I was like, when you said office chair, I was like, I got it. I got it and then he's
can't do it now. One time, Dom wanted to do a kickstarter to get it funded to have it when they were
selling it for like what 13 or 30 grand plus shipping. Joining me directly across for me is a man who may
have the coolest t-shirt in the studio tonight. And I'm very jealous. He is the king of bowling.
He is Andrew Beckham, welcome to the show sir. Thank you very much. I got to tell you Chad,
the other day I don't know if you saw on T Fury. It was Sam Jackson in a suit holding a gun with
the eye patch and I said, hey, Hydra, one more time. I dare you. I almost bought that. But also joining
us tonight is a man. I can't even tell you how long it's been since this man has been on the show.
We couldn't be more excited for his triumphant return. We've been friends with him for
feels like a lifetime and that's not a bad thing. He is Clay Harrison, welcome back to the show sir.
Thanks for having me. Always an honor to have you here. I think dinosaurs walk the earth
the last time he was there might have been a Jurassic Park movie. Let us get right into this thing
and do corrections. We really only have one, but it was from a special edition. So I don't know if
it actually counts or not. You're called. When we were reviewing seven sun this past week,
I don't even know if we mentioned it. But I thought that one of the ladies in the film was
the second nivia from Spartacus. I don't think I made the broadcast. I think that was something
that you and I were talking about as we were leaving the thing. Well, it wasn't her. It was Candice
McClure from Battlestar Galactica. So I'll I'll take the hit on that. So take the hit,
everyone he didn't have to. Russ, Russ is in the chat room. Good to see you. You got a great
text message from him this week. I'm sure Dom will be diving into the chat room here before too much
long. He may be visiting Gary, friend of the show, Gary Murray, back in the hospital. We went our
send our thoughts out to him. Hope he's doing better. Don was visiting him quite a bit this week.
Don's been keeping us apprised on that. We've still got two more weeks till NASCAR. And pretty
much day to on a day, we're not going to be covering NASCAR anyway, because it's the same day
as WWE faceline. So we got that going for us, which is nice. I don't know what that does for you,
but there's that. So we're going to get right into TV talk, which you're probably hearing this
and you're going, wait a minute, Rob, that's college football music. Well, because we're going
to talk about college game day after 25 years, it was announced on Thursday or Friday, that Chris
Fowler is leaving college game day. To me, he's I don't want your adventure. I have no idea.
Oh, like he's he's like he's the major host of that show to me, because perp streets your
analyst guy, Desmond Howard, he's just the guy that once did the Heisman trophy pose. One of
that guy puts on the hat, but that's Lee Corso, like he's the yuck monkey of the show to me. You know,
he's he's the guy that does the wacky bits, like Fowler's your main guy. Hard to believe that guy
does the wacky bits and he has no sense of humor whatsoever, especially when they were in this
10 years ago. But that's to me, that's a big loss for them. I don't know who can really step into
that slot as really the anchor to that show. So I'm going to be interested to see what ESPN announces
in the day's coming forward. It was suggested to me earlier this week that I apply for a certain
radio job in this town. I'm not saying I'm just saying. Oh, you should definitely go for that.
I don't know if it's what I'm thinking it is. I'm a little old for wacky radio hijinks.
Yeah, because just look at Lee Corso was such a spring chicken. I'm not I'm not I'm not I think I've
passed the age to be somebody's puke boy. That's all I'm saying. You sell yourself two shorts
renewals from NBC this week. They have renewed the black list. So Andrew and the lovely
entalented Mrs Irvin will be happy with that. Grim. Got nothing. Never watched an episode.
Watch the first season. Got bored. Quit watching. Yeah, just like like I it's kind of like constant
is what Grim should have been. I've you been watching that. Am I the only one in the room I
am watching constant. I like it. First couple episodes tough to get through but eventually you kind of
e-grows on you like it. They're adding a little bit of DC history into it. So it's nice to see what
they're putting into. Well, it's crazy as I watch this week's episode. Watch the trailer for next week's
episode. This week's the season finale. Yeah, they only did that half season. I was like, okay,
there's that. They only had a half season. They gave him the death slot. Friday night is seven or eight
Eastern. You know what, some of the best nerd shows come on on Friday. That's where all it
is. I mean, they're not going anywhere. That's why they're there. Fringe X files was on firefly
and they all rest in peace. And Chicago Fire and Chicago PD both renewed. Good. Chad, you'll be happy
with that and we're getting another season of SVU. But the other side of that coin, NBC is talking
about doing a 10 episode limited run of bringing back the original law in order. We're having
some of the old cast members coming back for an episode or two. There's been 110, it's like the
Wu-Tang clan of television. There's like 150. I mean, are they, have they, have they given anything?
They have not said any names. So rust things that Jonathan Coachman could be the new host of college
game day. I like the coach, but I kind of like him on my ESPN news. Yeah, you know. I don't know if
he could go with that. I don't want to say that long. A Todd Grishon works for him too. So that's true.
But so there is that. I don't know. In other strange news this week, that turned into a
Twitter trend. Brian Williams is taking some time off from NBC lately. What is this escalated
quickly? For those of you that don't know the story, it stems from he and telling the story that
he was in a helicopter that I could hit by RPG fire. Which, well, was found out as his helicopter
was never hit by RPG or they're actually an hour behind the convoy that they were supposed to be
with that did get it. Why does this sound like the Hillary Clinton thing all over again? Well,
here's the thing. Did you see what Twitter exploded with on Thursday? No. Hashtag Brian Williams
memories about him being in the theater when Lincoln was shot. Some of them, they're a very
creative people on the internet. That's all I'm saying. This was, you know, in the examples, look
up any Bill Cosby meme on Facebook. Oh, dear. Oh, dear. You want to talk about unstable, sir.
So funny, but God, are they wrong? Are we assuming that he wasn't in Mordor?
I hate to praise that story I got. He did not get it. Not share the load.
Apparently he did pass. That's not what I'm saying. Like, I'm telling you, go out there, go to your
Twitter feed and just look up the hashtag Brian Williams memories. Some of them are just ridiculously
funny. It becomes like a wears wall though of Brian. Yeah. It's hilarious.
I just can't stop laughing. Let's move on. The rock is working with HBO on a, I don't know if
it's a one off documentary or it's a documentary series. And don't hear the, don't hear the
title and go bump bump. It's actually called rock in a hard place. I thought it was a series.
Is it a series? I thought it was, apparently they're going and they're doing
documentaries on the world's most intense bootcamp prisons. Oh dear, where he actually put out a
post on Instagram the other day about it where he said when he was a kid, he made a lot of the wrong
choices. And fortunately he was able to get through that and become who he was. But these places are
for these kids. It's kind of like scared straight but more intense. Well, I'm bummed because I wish
it was about the bad choices he made with the Fanny Pack and the Black Turtle. Wow, you know.
And he was just going to be a fashion advisor for kids who are making bad choices. I don't
know worst choices that or when he first came into the WWE, I've already had the things dangling
off of his trunk soon. I knew it was Rocky, Maya, Via, and the channel is crying,
which I didn't die, Rocky died. But yeah, I mean, it's, I mean, it's kind of like anything
this guy touches right now. It's instant money. Like he's doing really, really well. And you
know, I am a sucker for a good documentary. Yeah. No doubt. So, you know, I'm going to be too. I'm
to, there's that new one that's starting tonight on HBO. Is that a documentary or a series? Like
what? Yeah. Oh, it's both. Yes. About the serial killer with making a movie out of his life.
But he's actually the one critiquing it and he plays himself in the series on HBO. It's actually
on the air right now. It looks really dark. I am recording it. So again, you know, me and documentary.
I mean, I've been hearing radio spots for that show. Like a lot of radio spots for it on sports channels
of all things. Really. Yeah. I wish I could think of the name of the darn thing. But yeah,
it's called the, the lives of whatever his name is or something like I want to say it was made
by the people who are saving the, I want to say saving the freedments. Is that what it was called?
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's made by the same guy.
Speaking of HBO. Jessica Sarah Jessica Parker. Whoa. Is returning to HBO. Thank you.
So I didn't have to. In a new show called divorce. But she still have a long face. Hey,
oh, you know, but playing her ex husband in the show will be the great Thomas Hayden Church.
And as much as I like Thomas Hayden Church, he'll always be low on wings to me.
Yeah. He'll always be, that's who he'll always be. It's like Woody will always be
Woody from Cheers. It's just, it's that same character. I, I always think of the one episode where
they were saying how low I did all these great impressions. And the entire impression was just
him saying who they were. It's like, hello, I'm Ethel Merman. And like that was all that, that's
Ethel Merman. You sound just like her. Molly Shannon will also be a met show playing one of Sarah
Jessica Parker's friends. She's real hit or mess with me. Yeah, it just depends on the
right. It's like she's always playing the crazy friend. That's, that's literally crazy, not
metaphorically. What was the last thing? The last big role she got, Catherine Kim. What was the
oh, geez, I forgot all about that. What did that last like six episodes or something?
Yeah, it was, it was an NBC one. Yeah, it was an NBC when when they used to like comedy on Thursday
nights and they put that piece of crap on and it died. Well, next Sunday night SNL 40. I think that's
going to be a three-hour show. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. I mean, no matter what age at some
point you watch, so there's someone you want to see. And when they did the 25 in 2000, and it
started out with Bill Murray, he was doing a louder singer, but he was working at like an Indian
casino. Yes. My favorite part is what he's sitting like sitting on Catherine Zeta Jones's
lap. So it looked at Michael Douglas and says, I am such a fan of your father. He has to do that
bit all the time. Because I just, we said that when we, after we saw St. Vincent, we did our
special edition for that. I said, how is it possible that Bill Murray is getting funnier as he's
getting older? Like, I thought he'd hit that plateau and then he just finds a whole new level.
Because St. Vincent was one of my favorite films of last year. If only he could be more
congenial. Well, this is the guy that, you know, the trick that he does in New York, right?
Where he walks up behind people. He does the peek-a-boo thing. And when they see him, the only thing
he says is, no one will ever believe you. And then he just disappears. I'm good with it. It's creepy.
Agents of shield coming back in about three weeks.
Um, Claire, are you watching Agent Carter? Agent Carter is the best Marvel TV show.
I'm really digging it. I just, I feel like it's good and put, uh, Haley at well on my list as well.
Oh, I see. Oh, brother. And it just haven't seen her in black mirror. Her episode is probably the best.
I've heard a lot of people talk about this show. It's kind of like a British Twilight Zone.
It is, it's a hyper tech savvy show that's a Twilight Zone. Like, you know, what if we
advance a little further, what could happen? Uh, but I will say, I tell everyone this,
avoid the first episode. I've heard people watch you. Watch that episode last. If you're
really committed and you really enjoy it, go to episode two and three. That's, that's all of
season one is three episodes. Well, we know Agent's of shield is coming back the first week in March.
But I worry about with Agent Carter is with only three episodes left. I feel like they're going to
rush the ending. Hey, they've had the howling commandos. That's great. Love that episode. Love that episode.
I mean, it's, I really enjoy her in Jarvis. Yes. It just, they could have a bottle episode.
I would just love to see these two interact. But everything else about that show, Chad Michael Murray's on
that. Yeah, he is. And it was like, too, I can see that name forever. Like, you know,
then you, I from more, more campfire. Yeah, I don't know. You know, I, that show has more,
I have more left for that than I do for Agent's of shield because Agent's of shield is like,
we live in a world of superheroes. We haven't seen one in a really long time. I'm glad you said that
because apparently the talk is now for the second half of season two, we're going to be dealing with
the inhumans. Okay. So this is my understanding of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel is
upset because they can't get a couple of things. And they want to use the inhumans as their
version of the X-Men. These kind of, you know, because they, they don't say the word mutant,
they don't, so they're going to bring in the inhumans as kind of their, what they're going to
use in terms of. And when they've featured the inhumans on Hulk and the agents of smash,
it was very watered down. It's like it's, but it wasn't like, what I think of the inhumans,
I think of these regal beings. And they kind of watered those characters down, but you're right.
But we're just going to see how it goes. And God knows I'm going to stick with it because it's also
now on the night before the Goldbergs, which is my favorite show this season. That's the best show.
I love the best show. I've said, if you are not watching this show, it is because you are
filling out your, your application to live in a communist country. That's the only reason if you're
not watching the Goldbergs because that show is brilliant. Best episode. Oh, geez.
There was the new kids episode was pretty funny. Pretty great. Especially when they showed the actual
video at the end of the episode side by side. And, and again, that show has better clips after
then Marvel shows. That and add a silver kills. My favorite line so far from the show was when
Beverly wanted to dress like so she bought him the parachute pants. She said, what you wear,
it's clothes made out of parachutes. Hell yeah, wearing this. Anybody are age if you're not
watching that show, there is something seriously wrong with you. And you'll thank a slider once you
watch it. Get caught up and you get caught up. Because what season one's available, you can get it on
blue right now. Oh, really? Yeah. And why it is a Travis Chamachery that the mother has was not
nominated for it any last year. When did the Clinton Covey is brilliant on that show? Did you
notice that in the dance episode, though, that the kid that was standing with Murray at the end,
that's Garland's actual kid. Yeah. Yeah. And he was dressed to Abby. He sounded like him. He nailed it.
I wish they could have brought back the the girl that played the little bath. But I mean, she's
been on leads. She really, really, not appreciated enough on how good she is. And I will tell you this,
you have to watch that show. If you haven't watched it, you have to. But it, uh, Wednesday, Wednesday,
Wednesday, Wednesday, or time, uh, seven seven or eight. It's either, is it after she will make you feel
old because you realize that the grandfather was the baby daddy in Laku's talking. That's a problem
well, but he's great in the show. He is. He is so fantastic. And the fact that he's best friends
with Adam. Yeah. I love that. Like he'll deliver these and the whole transformers episode. Oh,
I mean, God, if you loved the wonder years and you are Gen X, this is your one, absolutely right.
I can't debate it. Um, returning to ABC speaking of which this summer for six episodes,
not on comedy central. Battle bots is coming back. Really never watched an episode. I, I was
tempted to watch the one that Chris Jericho did, but never watched this one. I, I haven't watched it
before. I watched the British version. Oh, okay. Jericho's done one. Foley's done one. Which is
the one who was on sci-fi. Where Lucas's daughter was involved in one of the teams. Yeah, she's
like an NNA fighter now. Really. Yeah, because that's the one I watched from beginning
to end. I want to say that's one of the foldy was on. Oh, Russ said that the rerun for the
Goldbergs this week with the Patrick's crazy episode. Yeah. Oh, I might not remember this.
That's, I just can't say enough good things about that show. I just can't. The creator,
like one, like in the first season, I had checked in and tweet like this show is brilliant.
And Adam Goldberg tweeted me back. Oh, I've had conversations with him. He's amazing. Because
I had someone ask you, you know, first season, you know, what shows are you watching? And I
listed it. And I said, really at the top of the list, the Goldbergs. And then he tweeted back
he goes, that's my pick too, but I'm trying to buy us. That's so, so good. Also, got some, some news
on American crime story. As we know from the people who did American horror story, the first
season will be the OJ story. Courtney B. Vance is going to play Johnny Cochran. Really,
I can see that. Oh, yeah, I can see that. I do we all remember who's playing OJ. Cuba Gooding
Jr. That is happening. When Schwimmer is playing Cardachia. Oh, dear God. Look at that kids.
Why? Because they can. This is because it's FX. What else are you going to do? You moved
all your kids so much. Well, one of them, we're only getting one more season of the league,
and that upset me. But I like that show. I like it too, but it's, it's one I wait and
binge. Well, and then, and when you realize this season's to end, if it's always sunny. Like,
I saw the court. It's like season nine out in DVD. I was like, this is season 10. Is that
show still good? I have no, the season premiere this year was hilarious. The way box thing.
See, I've faded on that show too. So that's the court. I wait for shows. There's only three shows I
pay for. And that's Madman walking dead. And it will be a better pulse. All right.
I was just saying SNL last night with the Patrick's ways the episode. Oh, SNL. Yeah. So with one of
the greatest sketches of all time, the chip and Dale sketch. Oh, of course. Fans of penny dreadful.
Yeah, I've got comments on that. Season two will premiere on May the third.
Right into the show Jim regular big fan of penny dreadful. You sur Apparently not so much?
I just bidged watch the entire first season. And strong start, but a relatively weak
middle. A strong finish. Not as strong as the opening. Okay, but the middle. Kind of loses this
way. Did you watch it? No. Again, another show that I just kind of was like, well, I'll see how
it does. And I've only gotten lukewarm reports. Yeah. It's it's like the first three episodes were
really rock solid. And then it kind of took a nose dive from four to seven. And it had a great finale.
But give me a reason to watch anything. Is it as close the go birds? Well, apples and oranges here.
Talk about their Transformers episode. It's if you're into his is big tasty,
a character. Apparently I can't give you any feedback on this. Jack the Ripper,
vampires, werewolves. If you're burned out on that whole genre, then this will interest you.
What's the name of the one from a day McHill four since an even green green? That's all you
have to say. Yeah. She knew that. Yes. So if you see a date, if you see the seconds in
the city, you've got that cover. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And of nudity of even greater life should
entire lifetime. Wasn't big on seeing that one either. It was okay. All right. Yeah. See that I'm
getting that because you've already seen that type of film done. Why watch it again?
They waited too long. Yeah. In news that is making Chad's niece,
giddy, netflix. Oh yeah. Developing a live action series based on the legend of Zelda.
So we're gonna get through the whole show and then find out it was a mirage and had to do it all again.
But at least you don't have to worry about the princess being in the castle because that would be
the Mario series. I just, I don't know. I don't know if I need a live action Zelda. Just depends.
I mean, if they can do this and not completely muck it up, but it's not like netflix also has a bad
track record either. That's true, but you know, still don't buy it off more than you can choose.
I don't know. There's a couple of episodes that you see shows that show up in your netflix.
It goes, you know, just added season two and it's a series that they've done that you've never
heard of and you're like a winner man. What was season one? Because I just now hear people
really excited over the British
you know, and I'm talking about like drawing a blank on the name now. I'm at the look at that.
Not Portland, yeah. Nope. No. Which I don't find funny. I don't understand.
It's polarizing. I've heard people that love it and I've heard people that hate it.
Like, you know, if you're doing sketch comedy, your every episode needs to kill.
You know, agreed. And sometimes I'm watching that and I go, I don't understand the joke.
Kind of like most of us in the right now.
Oh, so the tall and Joe, especially can't they figured out it figure out that it's in the sketch.
They can't figure out how to end the sketch. But what they've always done that though, we grew up.
We find our favorites and but we watch for a whole episode and you get to the news and that's always been a highlight.
We get up there tall and Joe's is the right way. We successfully strong up it. We can update
because she does better characters. They didn't. She's not tough on the eyes either.
Brother. But I'll say who who makes that show right now. It's her and Kate McKinnon.
Kate McKinnon. Make that show right now. And if Kate McKinnon goes and does Ghostbusters and then leaves that show, they are hurting.
Yeah. Yeah. Pinky, pinky, pinky blinders. What the?
I have no idea what even that means. What do you just said? Sometimes I will almost want to say,
do you have a marketing department that says, you know, you know, it maybe the name doesn't make sense to anybody in the world.

only obligated to say that. And jewels will all make probably just chill with the house I'm assuming. Yes, here. All right. Let's talk some NBA.
We're actually going to talk a little bit of WNBA as well because a very interesting story comes out this week.
Diana Terrosi, three-time champion at Yukon, three-time women's champion,
it's going to sit out the whole season. This is a really strange story.
So she did your debut in Clownie of the WNBA. But listen to how this works.
Did you, you want the salary cap for a player is in the WNBA?
Only thing I know is WNBA. $100,000. What? Wow. She also plays for a Russian team in the summer time
where she makes 15 times that. She makes 1.5 million a year. I would be living in Russia.
So she is decided, I'm not going to risk injury. I'm going to sit out this entire WNBA season.
So I can go to Russia and with, and she's playing with a lot of the player she plays with now over there
for 15 times as much. Now, take into consideration that, let's call it 2004, I believe,
the entire revenue of that league was $34 million. As pop culture recorder Norman Chad said,
that's one of Allen Iverson's house parties. So you want to make more money, you've got to create
more revenue. You really do. So it's kind of an interesting conundrum because we don't hear a lot of
this about we hear about players like boycotting until they get better contracts and it's Smith,
Prime example. But to have an active player say, look, I'm not playing this year. I'll be there
to hang out, but I'm not playing because I make more money over here.
It's a smart career. It's an interesting conundrum for the league. I'm interested in the
how they handle this because you are a contracted player. So do you have a clause in your contract
that says you can do this? I mean, they can't fire. She's one of the marquee players in the league,
but if I'm going to go to a game, I want to see marquee players. I don't want to have marquee
players in the WNBA. There's an info. They have a whole thing. I'll give a turtle swoops and
Brittany Gardner in the other two names. No, Brittany Griner last year. Oh, no one. Last year,
Brittany Griner made what did she make like $35,000 last year? That's her own fault. Yeah,
but I think that's how to rookie deal do. So let's get to standings in the Eastern Conference
Atlantic Division. The New York Nicarbuckers, even though they've lost three straight,
they have hit double digits in wins. They are 10 and 41. They are 24 games back in first place.
But good news for them. They're only a game in a half behind the Philadelphia 76ers. And I think
I may be the only person in Dallas that doesn't want to marry Stotomayor on the Fabers. They just want
the thing with the fabric fans, they just want anybody to think, yeah. Yeah. And I hate that. And the
Rondo, he's in Rondo's injured now. So telling to put on that face plate and play. I felt like
that like Rip Hamilton wore for two years. The Boston Celtics in the middle of that division,
they're 14 and a half back. They are two games behind Brooklyn. And Brooklyn right now
is 12 and a half games back on Toronto. Toronto is running away with this. Are they still in the
single digit loss category? No, they're 34 and 17 right now. Okay. What time am I thinking?
Oh, that's a hog something about everyone. We'll get to them here in a minute. In the
central division, the Indiana Pacers, who are 13 games below 500, get 12 back. They are
a game behind Detroit. I'll tell you what, Stan Van Gundies got that team playing ball. Yeah.
There's our new win games. Yeah. So they got rid of a cancer called Josh Man. Well,
Detroit is also eight games behind Milan. Okay. Right now, Chicago and Cleveland are tied
for first in the division. Chicago does have the tie breaker. But it's Cleveland is 91 and
they're last 10. Pretty good. They're playing well. In the southeast division, the Orlando magic.
27 games out of first place. That's all I have to say about that. They are seven and six and a
half games behind my beloved Miami Heat, who are I game behind Charlotte. Charlotte is nine
games behind the bullets. I mean, the wizards. Right now, the wizards are 10 and a half back
on Atlanta and Atlanta still in single digit losses at 42 and nine. Wow. In the Western
Conference, Pacific Division, the Lakers, who have lost four in a row. They are one and nine
in their last 10. Good. They are 13 and 38. They're 28 games back. If we have lived to see that
day, sir, if only we had any sympathy for what is going on over there. Apparently Madonna has appeared
at the Grammy. Oh, her attitude, her attitude, her attitude, her attitude, her attitude, and whatever
she's barely wearing. Oh dear, looks insane. Oh, we'll be watching as soon as this is over.
I'm the DVR is rolling. Oh, well, on red carpet, you're seeing both cheeks. Oh, dear. That's
unfortunate. Oh, and the Lakers suck. Uh, they are five games behind Sacramento.
And told Sacramento is cheese. Ten and a half games behind Philanix, who was four games behind
the Clippers. The Clippers now, eight and a half back on Golden State. Oh, dear Lord, I just saw it.
I'm sorry. Clippers have been left with you on 56. And in the southwest division,
the New Orleans, Vatican are three below 500. They've lost one straight. They're seven and three
in their last ten. They're ten and a half back. San Antonio was five and a half games better than them.
Dallas only three and a half back right now, sir. Okay. Good. They're a game and a half behind Houston.
Memphis now leading the division. Memphis is finally. Well, they're not really healthy.
They need calmly. Tony Allen, healthy, but they're doing better. Yeah. So let us keep moving.
We're going to do a little thing. We like to call P.O.I. P.O.I. stands for a person of interest.
Is where we take an entity or a person and we debate their greatness or lack their of.
We go live to the other side of the table to chat because it is his turn. It's going to be really
hard to debate the greatness or lack their love on this, but it's taking us to turn into more of an
infomercial. Oh, my God. Did anything. Well, as as any long time listeners of this show, however many
those are both of them all three of them. Rob and I are big fans of Neo. Neo is something that I
stumbled across a couple of years ago and just fell. Head over heels and love with. For those of you that
don't know, it's a water enhancer where we'll take this ordinary water and make it taste like.
Pretty much anything you want to do. Pretty much you can think of. They just released a golden apple
flavor that's absolutely orchard apple. You can make it work. Yes. I'm saying I bet it's out there.
Because you can get like margaritas and apel teeny flavors now. It wouldn't surprise. Yeah.
The orchard apple. It doesn't have that bitter aftertaste. It doesn't taste like as pertain
and I don't even know what's in it. You know, unicorn to yours. But the stuff is greatness and I know
that the debate has been out there for a while of people that were asking because I've ever seen it
from many, many moons ago about people wanting to know if they could do it milk and it was kind of
a milk flavored water or additives formed. Yeah. Let's be clear on that. But then I clarify that for
something recently. Putting meal in milk and making it taste like these exotic flavors of milk.
And they're like, it's kind of a sketchy proposition. Well, what are exotic flavors of milk?
I'm just saying like the way for it. Yeah. I'm just saying like if you took like the
you know, cranberry pomegranate meal and put it in milk and have cranberry pomegranate milk. You know,
I'm just saying for people that are into that kind of thing, you're looking at me like I'm crazy.
People will go that way. I know I'm nuts, but you know, that's not really debating. That's not what we're
talking about. That's fair points. No, you're a lagoon. Yes. So fortunately for us, we have a company
that I stumbled upon. Yes. I stumbled upon this target looking for meal flavors. Yes. There was just one
bottle on this on the shelf and I was like, that's this. That's an audition. There has been an answer to
that question. You know, I don't have to use meal because there is a milk additive
flavoring now called milk splash. I'm holding a bottle of it in my hand right now. This is the
cookies and cream flavor. This thing is genius. They cookies and cream. This one is banana.
By my acceptable. He has I have the strawberry. It's chocolate and the orange vanilla
with nestly quick existing. Why are you getting there's a strawberry? Stay with me for a minute.
Yes. Stay with me. And they also have a Harchata. Harchata. Harchata. Harchata. But you can only get that
at HB. Yeah. So I find that to be racist. Um, but the thing is I am a pre-diabetic. So when you
flavor milk, it doubles the sugar content. With these, it is one gram of carbs, not sugar,
carbs per half tablespoon. You only need that much in a regular glass of milk. So it really adds
no sugar to what's already in the milk. Which is brilliant. So I was at Target and I saw this
video when I was like, you know what, for two bucks, two bucks, three bucks or something,
I'll take a flyer on this and see what happens. Brought it home, poured myself a glass of milk,
put a little bit of this stuff in it, and I found Nirvana. Yeah. You see God. It is for
somebody who hasn't been able to have flavored milk in about a decade, this is amazing.
I will tell you the strawberry. It tastes exactly like strawberry quick. Try a white Russian. Well,
I don't know. But um, the, uh, I will tell you the chocolate has a really kind of an odd
alcoholily after taste to it. I callua ish kind of. I can't do it. You don't have to try to
show. Okay. But I will tell you the orange vanilla. It tastes like you melted a dream sickle into a glass.
Well, I'm not kidding you. It's that good. The jam and banana tastes like a banana shake.
Banana and cookies and cream tastes exactly like you would think it would. It tastes like
your it is. Where you went, you had the flavors I couldn't find and I had the flavors you
couldn't find. But I couldn't get strawberry. That's the one I really wanted because what I tasted
at the strawberry, one of my favorite things to get from water burger outside of the burgers is
our strawberry shakes and it tastes exactly like it. It's exactly like it. Give me, give me
necessarily quick strawberry and milk. Dude, I'm telling you it's, it tastes just like it's your,
your hands got to cave in. I was not kidding you. I was stunned that this was like a low calorie.
And my question is, how is this somewhat something? I just stumbled up. I, that's what
shut cause I wasn't even in the right place. Well, it was with the meal stuff and it's normally
packaged where the Nestle quick is. Are we a taste market? There's a website and you can put
your, you can put your zip code in and they'll tell you anywhere within whatever radius you want
of what places carry it. Most of it is Target, Walmart, and HEB. Those are your three major
retailers carrying it right now. It is unbelievably good. Like, I was expecting like a real
kind of a taste to it. You are waiting for that. As pertain. Stay smooth as glass.
You're completely fooled. Wow. I'm not kidding you. And I took this home to both my girls and
like, Megan's real picky. My daughter's extremely critical. And she loved both of them.
Is ridiculously good. Like, I was just like, wow. Do they make flavors? You can put in water?
That's not a big milk drinker. That's called me. That's called me. And the
Neo just released an orange vanilla. Yes. That's very, very good. And the apples brand new,
they're lemonade is ridiculously good. But it's very strong. But everybody's doing like,
minute maids doing this now. Crush. You can get orange or grape crush as a water added. If
you're struggling, I think I was actually really good. I was surprised. I've been drinking both the
coolade and the Hawaiian punch. Zero calories, zero sugar. And you can't tell. It's, you can't
not tell. It's literally that good dude. I'm not kidding you. It's, I was skeptical going in.
It's, it's, it keeps my sweet tooth at bay, which is really good.
But you know, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well,
maybe I'm like a taste testing after the show, so you can check it out. But if you look like a
skeptic, you might not be a skeptic once you're well, I don't drink milk. I drink almond milk.
And usually if I drink almond milk, I usually will get vanilla flavor. So that's, that's about it
as far as milk goes. So to drink regular milk and then have something in it, it better be liquor.
But it, it really is. I was very impressed. Milk splash. If you are a milk drinker,
especially for parents who have kids that don't want to load their kids up with a
bajillion grams of sugar and they want like chocolate or strawberry milk, this is a great alternative.
Because you're not adding any sugar to the milk. You know, my boss says his daughter is huge
into chocolate milk. And I'm like, dude, this is the way to do it. And you're not going to
wire her for three days. You know, so check it out. If you can find milk splash.com, I believe
this is the website. Yes, it is. Uh-huh. They are not sponsoring the show. Although if they'd like to
email us find them at Facebook.com forward slash. Oh, they've got it. They've got a Facebook page.
They've even got recipes on how to make like cheesecake with this stuff. And really,
protein smoothies and as the, I'm telling you that orange vanilla would be great in a smoothie.
I bet the banana would be good in a smoothie too. Oh, yes. Oh, yeah. They've already got a recipe
down here for a peanut butter banana smoothie. Oh, all right. Let's finish our infomercial
and move on. Yeah. Music talk. The Grammys. As we just talked about going on right now, apparently
there's going to be a lot of performances tonight. And one of the things that people have always said
about the Grammys, it's the one award show that's just not award after award after award. They've
really kind of streamlined the Grammys now where it's more about the music. And you get to see
some great performances. I know Chad's leader is in attendance tonight. Demedonna apparently is
there. It's apparently it's very unfortunate. Well, she's celebrating reaching her early millions.
So. Oh, man. She's even got the Gramma Flabby underarms now. I'm going to get the bingo wings.
And really, we'll be able to sit there for a couple of hours and not know any of the artists
not getting awards. But I will tell you one artist that they better be at least one award
coming their way unless they didn't make it in time for Grammys nominations this year,
which is now that my default ringtone on my phone, by the way, still my favorite song.
Mark Ronson Bruno Mars, uptown funk. Number one, five weeks in a row.
Have you seen, did you put jizzle when they were in SNL? Played did you catch just no great performance.
Great performance. He did two songs. Mark Ronson, they did this one with Bruno Mars.
I've reached the age where any good music is at least 20 years old. Dude, you are talking to
I keep it. I know. Same thing. But listen to this. Have you not heard this song?
No, I don't listen to the radio. Neither do I.
I feel like I want to put on rollerskiss sounds like somebody want to be friends.
But this song is great. I feel like I want to get a put on rollerskiss.
Have knee socks on with the three stripes on them. Let's go get this thing done.
It sounds like a mashup that happened between
Parliament, Funkadelic, the Gat Band, Prince of the Time.
And it's Bruno Mars. Okay, I can hear it, yeah.
Bruno Mars is a great performer. I'm a big fan of Bruno Mars. He's just got that throwback
field to him. I was like, this is when music was music. The stuff that this guy does.
I still miss rock and roll. I want to food fighters to win everything.
Did you tell me you watched all of Sonic Highways?
I have not seen the New York episode and I skipped the Nashville episode.
Oh, no, the Nashville episode is great. I know, but Country Music.
But the whole thing was that round and he tells that story.
I saw parts of it, but I've been told to finish it.
Watch both. And you watch, but you watch the awesome episode with the great Gary
Court Junior. I, you know, I was in and out of that one. I didn't really watch all.
I'm a big Gary Court Junior fan. I know as much as I praise it and I
think, well, I kind of watched it. But it was just because it's that documentary
field and you're not getting music the whole time. That was not one bad song in any
episode that show. That album is phenomenal. And the way they did it, I was just
it blew my mind. Dave, roll. I miss rock and roll.
Well, then let's talk about rock and roll, shall we? Oh, so digging.
Van Halen will be releasing a live album on March 31st, but they recorded June 21st, 2013
with David Lee Roth. Tokyo Don Live in Concert. It will be a digital release, a
two disc set or a four album vinyl set that you can buy for it. And the same day that
this drops 1984 and Van Halen won will get remastered releases. With full
intentions of all of the David Lee Roth albums getting remastered and re-released
before the end of the year, 1984 first cassette I ever bought. Really, such a great album.
I remember when that album came out and I was like, this could be the greatest thing
that I could produce by life. Because I still continue to stay at Panama. It's one
of the greatest songs ever written. Yeah. I mean, it just that whole album beginning to end.
But, you know, I wouldn't saw them when they played in Dallas a few years ago. And it was a good show.
Yeah. I mean, I mean, I like Anthony. Would you buy one of the albums?
One of these, uh, coming out. The remastered the live album, the live.
I'll give it a spin. Like I'll listen to a couple of tracks and if I like it, I'll download it.
Because I'm a big fan of Halen fan. Although somebody, oh my god, what would they say? Oh,
have you seen this? I heard this reality shows Sister Wives?
God, I thought you said Van Halen was going to have a reality show. No, I'm almost
expect if this sell doesn't go well. Like that's their destiny. Like they'll have a contest to
replace David Lee Roth. Oh, my god. Apparently for the reason I talked about Sister Wives is I was
watching this soup on Friday night and Joel McHale referred to the main, the husband on
Sister Wives as the Muppet Sammy Hagar. And I saw him and I would do that's dead on. He is dead on.
But that's coming. And I guess the other ones are coming in the future as re-release as remasters.
Because I have 84 on CD and you could tell it was in CD's first started. Yeah.
Because if you listen to older CDs that were like released in the late 80s early 90s,
it's hard to believe as clear as we thought they were back then as bad as they are now.
Yeah, people have been gripping about the print should have done a remaster of sound of the times
because it sounds so, it just sounds so poorly mastered. Russ, Russ mentions the the return of
cassettes. I know that Guardians of the Galaxy released their soundtrack on cassette. Yes, there was a
limited run. Went last weekend and saw the great haunchy live. They're doing a Christmas album coming
out in March called Touched by Santa which they threw out to the crowd on a track. That was a great
moment. And they were literally eight tracks. They were throwing like 25 of them. They're just throwing
out of the crowd at the cover on it. So I would not be surprised if it's the actual album but
good luck finding a player to put them on. Let's go straight to music new releases coming out of places
you get music new releases this week. And no, this is not William Hung. Thank God. I have
that album. I have that album. Ricky Martin. I can Kiana Eskichar which I believe will take William
Hung. I think I'd say I will take William Hung. Which I believe translates to remember who I
love who loves to listen. I think is what that means. What would you do? Okay, here's your choice.
Kind of thing. This or this. What? As Cisco releases the new album this week called last dragon
we can only hope. I want to know the time machine you got to get this. Oh, I remember I was a DJ
for a living for 21 years. I bought this when it came out because I had to have it for DJs.
I choose the bulletin. But you know what, you're if you're good at name and album the last dragon,
I better hear a cover of rhythm of the night. That's all I'm saying. Rust says Metallica is going to
release, re-release kill them all on cassette. Or kill them all. I'm sorry. And there's apparently
a petition going around right now for them to be the halftime show for Super Bowl 50.
Have we gotten that all? Yeah. I'm in though. Because I think have you seen, have you seen
through the number? No, I still remember what's cool. You know, I still enjoy just watching Katy Perry.
It's fair point. And that big tigerly, that big lion was cool. Yeah, that was I thought I thought it
was a very entertaining halftime show. I enjoyed that. I didn't need as much Missy Elliott as I
had. I let us move on to a little NHL talk. Standing's in the NHL because they're now in the
second half of their season after nobody watched that all star game. I think the final was like
16 to 12 or something. Stop it. I'm not kidding you. Both teams were in double digits. And you know
next week is the NBA all star game over under is like 325. Good night. Because there's no such
thing as defense in the NBA all star game. In the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division, the Buffalo
Sabres. They have 35 points. They are 36 points out of first place. They are 14 points behind
Oderwa, Oderwa, a point behind Toronto. Toronto 7 points behind my beloved Florida Panthers,
who are 6 points behind basket. It's me doing math out loud. Boston is 6 points behind
Montreal. Montreal is behind Tampa Bay and Detroit, who are tied for first place. Detroit does
have the tiebreaker. In the mutual polls in division. The Carolina Hurricanes, I got it right this week.
Not call them the Panthers. They have 45 points. They are 23 points out of first place. They are
4 points behind Columbus. Because see we can't do America's favorite game show because Columbus isn't
in the toilet anymore. They are 2 points behind the New Jersey Devils, who are 3 points behind
the Philadelphia Flyers. Philadelphia 10 points behind the Rangers of New York. Who are 2 points
behind Washington. Washington is a point behind the Islanders. The Islanders have caught up to within
a point of Pittsburgh. So that division getting a little bit more snug. In the Western
Conference Pacific Division, the Edmonton Oilers with their whopping 37 points are 38 points out of
first place. They are 8 points behind the Arizona coyotes, which I still can't get used to saying.
Arizona 11 points behind the Kings, the Kings 5 behind Calgary, who are tied with Vancouver.
Vancouver is 2 points behind San Jose, and a time still running away with the division with 75
points. And in the Central Division, your Dallas stars are officially in last place. 54 points
they've lost 3 in a row. They are 22 points out of first place. They're a point behind Colorado.
Colorado now, a point behind Minnesota, who by the way, the Minnesota Timberwolves have won,
it's not that Timberwolves of the Minnesota Wild. So I can't get my sports straight anymore.
He's in a soda has won 5 in a row. They are 6 points behind the Winnipeg Jets. Winnipeg 6 points
behind Chicago. Chicago 4 points behind St. Louis Nashville still running away with the division.
They've won 2 straight. Other than that, not much going on in the NHL front, that's at least worth
talking about. If so, we'll be there. Oh, what the heck is going on there?
That's what I'm looking for. I have a lot of out of body experiences today, man.
I don't know what's going on with my computer. I'm playing with my own technology.
We're going to move tech corner. I think you're right now as a better place to do tech
corner so we can kind of balance everything out. So we're going to go ahead and do tech corner now. A
couple of things that talk about in tech corner DC apparently abandoning the new 52. Good later this year.
They're going to re-re-a-line again. I just thought that they were dropping the all new.
That it was what I'm writing. No, from what I've read, it's going away. And they're doing, but
they're going to, I'm not going to speak out of turn. I just understood that they were taking away
the rebranding that they had had since Obama's first turn. All new. And kind of like the new
kiss FM that was a new kiss FM for 20 years. Yeah, but then again, you have a lot of these stories
and a lot of things you're basing on the fact that you knew the origin of some of these. I mean,
I don't think it's anything new or different. It was just like allowing them to tell different
stories with some of the same characters you know. Okay. But Marvel doing secret wars again and
secret wars is how they're going to pretty much blow everything up and start over. I would say
it's their crisis. And part of the fallout from secret wars coming in May will be a team called A4s,
which will be the first all female Avengers team. Okay. And the best tweet I saw about this was
the first title of the first graphic novel collected should be to be reckoned with.
Ooh. If it is not a force to be reckoned with, somebody doesn't know what to do at Marvel.
And if that happens, I'm just creating clay with that and that way he can sue. No, no, that was
the tweet I read. Well, you could have been your tweet. I'm just so no. And it news that has made me
realize it in your lack of comic news. I also want to come here every week and say wait a minute.
We're not talking about it. So you are welcome here every week. Bring it seriously. Do bring it.
Don't threaten because we'll take you up ahead. Have you all talked about Chip Zarsky on
Howard the Duck yet. Okay. Are you all reading sex criminals? I haven't collected in forever
because I have married and that kind of that was the deal. I guess I guess that's why I'm reading comics.
I'm single. So I have a lot of. Oh, you're reading comics because you're single. Are you
single because you're reading comics? Yes. A little bit of both. Not pointing fingers. Just asking
questions. Don't just check in good to see you sir. I definitely suggest with Howard the Duck
comes out. Check it out. If you if you want to read what Chip Zarsky's like. Check out sex
criminals. He he works with Matt Fraction on it. Fantastic book. So I just I haven't really found
a book I can really get into in the last several years. I've got tons of old stuff but I've picked
up some of the more current stuff and try to get through it and I'm just like they've changed so much.
I don't want to give away the. I read it. In fact, I have volume on all of you.
I'll give you this much. Like the last series that I read all the way through that I loved was
not the new 52 but 52. Oh, just the 52. Love 52. Yeah. Love that. Try to get it. I just could
Batman RIP. Could get into it. There's been several shots that at story runs that I tried to give
a chance and I was just like, you keep losing me and we still never even started reading the Star Wars.
It's fantastic. It is fantastic. It's so I actually have bought a comic in the last six months.
I read that whole run and I was not impressed. I did buy this.
Okay. Is that the Batman 66 green hornet? Yeah. I read the whole run and it was awful.
The writing was here. Who wrote it? Ralph Garmin and Kevin Smith.
Yeah. Which made me, it gave me hope. You know what? Kevin Smith can write comics if you've read his
Daredevil run. But anything beyond that. I thought Kakaoff and he was copying the writing.
Jiren were pretty good. I actually enjoyed his treatment for Greenhorn and Green Arrow. I thought
was good. Quiver. Quiver was a good storyline. But it's gone downhill. Like those were his
tops and that was him at the beginning and then it just kind of dwindled down. Well, because it takes
a nine years to witness you. But down the way I did, I do love Kevin Smith. But I mean,
those early days, whatever he was doing then when he was a big fan, that's what he needs to get
back to. Because obviously, because it's rooted in those characters history. I mean, he pulled
up Daredevil and he was pulling out Karen Page and he went to Arrow and he was pulling out all the
stops. He went through and he was like, oh, this guy knows them. It's amazing what he can do when
he wants to do it badly enough. But there's actually, but when he doesn't have somebody poking
him with a stick or with a fireplace poker, he's just like, I'll do one of my favorite parts
of that Quiver run was the opening story of Superman and Batman on the roof talking.
Yeah. And you go, what was that? And by the time the end of the story hits you,
you understand how it all worked back around. So with enough history of having Clark and Bruce
spent time together and we see Batman and Superman coming, are we going to have those moments
of Bruce and Clark talking? Or are we just going to see them try to beat the crap out of each
other and get sick of the movie? See, I want to talk about this. But the last time we talked
about anything that could happen, you freaked out because it were spoilers involved.
I remember that show. I think at this point anything on the internet, because I read a spoiler
that Maria Hill was a scroll. You know, and like, so I don't want to know anything. I mean, we're so
far, I mean, I don't want to know anything about Star Wars. That's a year away. I mean, I just don't
want to know that. I think everything on the internet may just be thrown out there. So sometimes
if we talk about it, it's not going to ruin it for me. Because I said to the Avengers going
when she didn't become a scroll, what's it going to happen? I'm so ready for age of all
Toronto. Let's talk about that in the movie talk. Well, okay. One more, as far as comics,
anything DC, if you check out any of their animated films. Oh, absolutely. I argue with me on any of
them. I say they're all fantastic. That is, I think a phone of Atlantis. I have that's the life
I haven't seen. It's been sitting at home. It's, I mean, it's literally picks up right after war.
Oh, I mean, it's right after just like war. It's a war was like low on my total pull. My favorite
version of Aquaman is from the, the paradox flash move. Oh, the flashpoint paradox. Oh, my god.
I, that is the way Aquaman then should be. And if Jason Mamoa isn't that badass, then I don't know
what they're doing. You know who's been making these Justice Leaks for me? Sean Assen is freaking
Captain Marvel. He gets the best lines in these films. He is so good. But I'm sorry. Anytime you
get Phileana's a voice. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, dear God. Justin Cred. But yeah, front of Atlantis is
his, oh, I just want to go through here and go, okay. So who do you all want to see play John
Stewart and the next move? It's my whole thing is whatever I think I hear Aquaman now, all I see in my
head is that deal from in just as God's among us, his special move. That's all I can see in my head.
Well, the, the fan art I saw of Jason Mamoa as Captain, or as Aquaman is, that's all I see now because
that's what I want to see on film. And if they don't do half as good a job as a fan does, I'm out.
Right now my walk, my clubhouse leader for John Stewart is common. I love with Idris Elba in a
close second. That's who I want to see. Man, I don't put Idris Elba's close second in anything.
Yeah, I know. Yeah. Are you like Kevin Smith with with Athlete, if you recast George,
you'd let him be the shark. Yeah. Careful. Easy. Oh, sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
All right. Keep your family friends. Okay. We keep our PG 13 with one. So.
Oh, God. Yeah. You got me. If you hit two, then it goes to R. But, uh, and the other tech news that
is a chapter of my life closing, no pun intended, radio shack is filed chapter 11. This made me
sure. Like, have you been in a store lately? I've drive by him all the time and I look
and I'm like, there's like a third of the merchandise. But three inch USB cable was like $140.
Of course they're going out of business. No, we don't know. That haven't been there any year,
too. Five years. Oh, don't you're about a half an hour late. That actually was P.O.I tonight.
So, but it's okay. Don said he was just got back. He was checking on Gary. He says that Gary's
doing a lot better. He has another surgery tomorrow. Okay. So, oh, looks like he had an wrestling
talk. Speaking of hospitals, we find out Friday night that DDP has gone into ICU. What?
They, he was, he's having trouble breathing. So, he went to the doctor and they found out
there was a mucus buildup underneath his vocal cords that was swelling his throat shut.
So, he's been in ICU. He's doing better. He actually tweeted, I don't know why they call
this ICU because I can't get any rest because people are coming in every couple of minutes checking
on me and he just says, you know what you got to have a sense of humor about these things. And if
you know anything about DDP, that guy is the eternal optimist. Yes. Yeah. And for what, I guess
he already has an instant pass into heaven for what he's done for Scott Holland, for Jake
to snake robbers. So, interesting notes coming out this week to from a couple of UFC fighters,
Chale Sunan and Von der Lace Silva have both been reached out to by WWE for a WrestleMania 31
appearance. Really? And they both are admitting it. Ronder Rousey says she's been reached out to as
well. Now, that I'd like to see. I'd rather see Rousey than those two. Yeah. And speaking of
things, Rousey really, I finally finished ladies and gentlemen, my name is Paul Hayman today.
Great. It took me three settings with a network kept slowing down on me. But if you're going
to watch anything on the network, don't do it during WWE programming. That was my problem Friday,
as I was trying to watch during SmackDown. And there are so many people on there doing the
second screen experience that slowed the network down. But something that came up during that
documentary that I found fascinating. Joey Styles said he was, this is never been said before.
A lot of guys vilified Paulie when he left ECW before it shut down and went to WWE.
But what a lot of people don't know is it is well-documented that Paul Hayman is the son of an injury attorney.
In bankruptcy laws, if you file for bankruptcy, your creditors can go back 90 days to try to
collect. Anyway, they can. Any money they hadn't been paid.
Paulie waited 90 days from the last check he cut to a wrestler from ECW before he filed for
bankruptcy. So nobody could go after his people. That's a stand-up guy. That is.
And Joey Styles like, this has never been talked about, but this happened. So all those guys
that stood so many things about him, you might want to go back and think about it.
Because Paul, Paul Hayman, does nothing that he hasn't calculated.
Watch this documentary. It's almost three hours long. That's a reason you become a Paul Hayman guy,
I guess. It's two hours and 46 minutes long. And it's a stone-cold recommendation.
What? Really? And almost all of the documentaries that they've released are available on the
network. Because I watched this CM Punk one a couple weeks ago. That was really good.
Is it worth renewing my, yes. It's 10 bucks a month, dude.
All right. Oh, ladies. Let's talk wrong.
So Triple H T's is this major announcement that's going to shake the core of WWE. I got through that
first segment. My core still intact. Was anything announced though?
Here was the announcement. And on RAW this past Monday night, Seth Rollins was going to take
on Daniel Bryan. The winner of that match will take on Roman Reigns at Fastlane. The winner of
that match goes to WrestleMania. So technically, they weren't stripping Roman Reigns of winning the
Rumble. But from a booking standpoint, it makes sense because if you're trying to build up Roman
Reigns, there's gotta be obstacles in his path. Unfortunately, your time frame isn't real long.
No. So there's that because that's why they call it. But now they're saying that they,
because you know that the plan was Reigns Lesner and then Daniel Bryan Dolph Ziegler, which is
supposed to open WrestleMania. Now they're saying that may not be the case. They're reevaluating.
What's going to open many of them? They might get Daniel the shot.
Which I think I almost think it's too late to do that. I think it's too late to do that because
you're any momentum you've built. You have to literally start completely over. Just admit that
something's gotten in your way and just deal with it. You know what I mean? It's just one of those
deals. Also read that Orton returned on how to show this weekend. What was wrong with him this time?
He was just, he was not doing a movie. Remember? Oh yeah. They wrote him out by Seth Rollins,
Curb's not being him onto the cement bricks. Oh yeah. That's right.
Was that on roll? Yes. Okay. That's what it is. And you know what? I'm okay if you turn Ziegler
heel if you're going to do him and Bryan. But as long as you don't let him join the authority.
Can you be heel nowadays without being in the authority? Well yeah.
Bray Wyatt. Yeah, that's true. You know. But you know what? I don't know if anyone else
is. But this is something that Chad and I were talking about this week.
Couldn't you just keep them both face and just do the match? I mean back in the day you
couldn't do that. Yeah. Back in the day you couldn't do that. But in this day and age of professional
wrestling, I think you could do that. Just say, look, we're just going to go out and turn the
house down. Don says the bow down. The bow down. It's also returned this weekend in how it shows.
Really? And he is a bow lever. So there's that.
Um, Russ says if you sign up for WWE and work in February, or you'd February for free,
but if you cancel, will they charge you for March? No. It is a month-to-month subscription.
So if you get to February 20th, you can cancel this because this is going to hit you on the 21st.
So you have to cancel on the 20th. But the thing is, fast lines two days later.
Right. Smart. So you might get it. But no, there's no long-term commitment anymore.
Great sign. And I'm giving points for originality here, child. You ready? Go ahead.
Page is as pale as WWE booking. Yes. That's great. Not necessarily comedic genius,
but I'm giving points for originality. Yes. Damn. And if you, did you watch wrong?
Andrew? You know what? I drew a main event with Reigns and Frenchy. And then golf
came on. I'll watch that in today. Well, I watched that. And then I watched Rock is one of the
D.D. And then a leaf fell off a tree. And I watched that. And then you decided to watch paint dry. And the
gift was the show. But Reigns speared Frenchy on the outside. He got some really good distance on that
spear. Really? Like edge kind of distance. Wow. It was impressive. If you go through like the railing
outside too. No, they were on the ramp. Oh, okay. Shouldn't we pair a page with Shamus?
That's a lot of pale and one ring. What are we doing? What are you going to call them? The
ghost. How do you do? A helicopter beacon? I'm just speaking. All right. Smack down headlines.
NXT. Oh, maybe not because we got you got Reigns. NXT is going to do a house show in Cleveland,
the weekend of the Arnold Classic. That means anything for you? No, should it? No, it's Arnold
Schwarzenegger's going to Hall of Fame. And Triple H has said because I actually got to listen to the podcast
because Stone Cold put it up Thursday. Triple H has said one of his short-term goals is he's going to
get NXT out on the road. Really? Yep. Really? How are they going to do that? Same way they do with WWE.
It's just a different circuit. I think it's great. I think it's a great idea. Because that product
is really good. Where are they going to start though? He hasn't said yet. But they're doing a
show in Cleveland. Is it just the East Coast trip? I think the further ways to go, the further
the more. That's going to be a part of itself. That's going to be a hard day. It's getting good
downloads from the network. Yeah. It's doing really well. It gets good viewership, but I don't know
people are going to be willing to buy tickets for stuff like I don't know. That's risky. Yeah.
I mean, if they can make it work, then at least I've got something that's working. Like if they came
to Dallas, where would they go? How's the Blue Engine Center? How's the Blue's?
Yes, it was. Oh yeah, that's right. I'd go. Not like we haven't done that before. I'm just saying,
but it only for under $10. Any more than that. That gives you a free drink at the bar.
So we have China news this week. Triple H talks on the podcast and Stone Cold about trying to
go into the Hall of Fame. He said that there's no ill will on their end. He's cool with it.
She announces that she's engaged. Apparently she's living in Japan and it's an English teacher.
It's on the internet. It has to be true. Wow. But she is engaged to a man named
Nibuhiko Hajigara.
Because of the of the affluent shohagi horrors. They've known each other since 2002 and the quote was
weird because it was like, I don't know a lot of Japanese. He doesn't know a lot of English,
but I know when he proposed to me. Uh-huh. But you're teaching English to Japanese people.
Don't those make people make pretty good money doing that? From what I'm told,
but she's also talked about doing some work with Lucha Underground as well.
So there's that. There's so many jokes that I want to make that. I know that can't.
A couple of smack-down notes. So Ziegler and Rybak are tag teaming now. They're your new tag team.
And you know how Rybak has the weight belt that says the big guy.
Ziegler has one that says the little guy and my question is, oh boy. Is that really what you want to be wearing Ziegler?
I'm just saying.
And I guess fun-down goes face now because he's feuding with Adam Rose who's now heel.
I'm very confused. I don't know why you think that faces can't feud with him.
It archers just go right on Jimmy on his body space.
Well, I'm just saying it. Let's go straight to impact because I don't have any impact headlines.
So they have the cage mesh this week where you were talking a few weeks ago with Jeff Hardy and the bad bump.
Oh, what finally happened? That bad bump didn't look that bad to me. He landed on his shoulder.
Okay, you dropped from the top of a cage door.
Yeah, but I'm talking from a standard cage drop standpoint.
And it wasn't from the top of the cage. It was from the top of the door of the cage.
He dropped from the top of a cage door.
But it didn't look like he smacked his head against it.
He landed. He landed clean. It looked like it hurt like hell.
Sorry. I would have been trying to sell it as like the top possible concussion.
I was like, no, he just had never hit anything.
There's like a broken clavicle or something.
I don't know. Maybe there's a great match. Don't get me wrong.
I mean, when you put the hearty's into a match with James Storm and Abyss,
it's going to be a decent match. And it was fun to watch.
And to clip, I saw just the impact sounded.
No pun intended. The impact sounded so loud when he hit.
I was like, good god.
That's a cage door 10 feet high.
No, I don't know. I don't know what the what the fall was.
Give her take.
And EY has turned into such a classic old school heel and I love it.
Bobby Roode, I'm going to make you bleed.
It just, I was like, it was so reminiscent of like Dick Slater in 1987.
It was great. I enjoyed it.
And I think they're pumping in crowd noise again.
I don't know.
Or they're just really bad editing going on. One of the two.
And I've also determined that Loki could play mini baraka.
Mini baraka. Yeah. Look it up. Look it up. I'm just saying.
And I just, I don't know why. Maybe it was just me.
But I was under the impression the whole time during that cage match with EY and Bobby Roode,
that that was supposed to be a first blood match.
But he still pinned him for the win.
So I don't, because I kept talking about making each other bleed.
Oh my god. I guess this is the first blood match. I don't know.
Okay. I wonder if he like poked him with like a little, I don't know.
But this guy that's one season two of British boot camp.
And I'm not kidding you. This is his ring name. You're ready for this?
Uh-huh. Man-drews.
That's your boy. That's your boy.
This is last name Reckham.
But Man-drews sounds like a show that would air on spike.
This week.
Man-drews, you know. He's like, he's like a really buff butler or something.
I think I'll pass on that.
And I thought it was really funny because it was him and Rockstar's butt against Tyrus.
And you know how when guys come out and they've got their name and their Twitter handle?
Yeah. Brody's had nothing underneath his name.
I'm like, have we not had time to get him a TN8 Twitter handle?
Yeah. How sad.
That takes all of 23 seconds.
And it was weird because you're having a cage match and EC3 pulled Man-drews out of the cage
onto the floor. I'm like, well, didn't that that point?
Didn't they win the cage match?
No, that's not part of work.
Very confused.
The rules are there. Are no other rules.
Wrestling.
Podge it.
Paint me to that one.
Tom's saying.
You are listening to the Clubhouse podcast live every Sunday,
night, seven, Eastern, four Pacific.
If you miss any part of the show, it goes up on, uh, what do you call that thing?
On the archive. And you click that thing.
The air.
Or just subscribe on iTunes.
Let's get into movie talk, gentlemen.
Okay, Clay, you can wake me back up.
All right, I'm in.
Clay's back.
Wait, wrestling, huh?
No, we're back. We're good.
Box office numbers from this week.
Dropping out of the top 10 this week.
Dropping from nine to 19.
Strange match.
Wow. Lucasfilm Sons on Lucasfilm Swan dive.
And you know what, I don't brag about a lot of my tweets, but I think I got my star
was rebels tweet right.
And if you saw Clay, I said,
Star Wars rebels is like Disney's saying to George Lucas,
how do we know how to play with this toy better than you do?
Although, Lando looks really weird to me, but it was great to hear.
Yeah, but it was just weird.
Also dropping out of the top 10 this week, the loft drops from 10 to 13.
I'm kind of interested in this film.
Uh, it's made a total of 5.2 million dollars.
By the way, strange magic has made 11.4 million dollars in three weeks.
Yuck.
And I don't have a budget, and there's probably a reason.
And taking three drops from 8 to 11, 2.35 million dollars for a five-week total of 85
.1 million dollars, it's almost double that's budget.
Better than the second one.
Was it?
Yeah.
I can't bring myself to it.
That's what my dad said.
Dropping from 5 to 10 this week, and it can't drop any quicker for me.
The boy next door.
$4.1 million dollars, three weeks, 30.9 million dollars.
This can't be right.
Are you telling me this movie was made on a $4 million budget?
All of them with the JLo's undergarment.
Well, she was a, she was producer on this thing.
So who else would draw in a money in that?
I mean, who's Christian Chenoweth?
Who's that?
Well, that's sad.
Harper, he'll Harper, was in this?
I like him a lot.
I love Christian Chenoweth.
Is that the guy who she is?
She's creeping the alto.
Like, why?
She's aging strangely.
Oh, no, she's doing work horribly.
Oh.
Yeah, it's like, it's like her face is caving in on itself now.
Yeah, I love to run the West Wing.
Oh, West Wing, pushing Daisy's.
I, she should have had her own show from that.
Dropping from four to nine this week, the brand new Kevin Costner film,
Black or White, $4.5 million dollars, two weeks, 13 million.
Apparently, he put all the money into this movie.
Yes, because nobody else would.
He said, they were trying to get it done and nobody got done.
Dropping from six to eight this week, Josh Gad and Kevin Hart in the wedding ringer,
$4.8 million dollars, four weeks, 55.1 million dollars on a $23 million dollar budget.
I am now determined that Kevin Hart is becoming Adam Sandler.
To borrow something from one of my favorite radio shows,
if you call his cell phone and the voice mail goes, hey, this is Kevin Hart.
Yes, I'll do it.
The imitation game stays at seven. Have you seen this yet, Clay?
No.
Wonderful film.
Cumber batches.
And it makes you forget, here, and I can act.
Like, that's how good this movie.
We had this discussion earlier about it.
I don't know if we were going through her films and trying to decide what the best one was.
So this may be it.
So far, I love this film.
I loved everything about this movie.
Okay.
And it makes another $4.8 million dollars, 11 weeks, 74.7 million dollars.
So there's no way it hasn't beaten.
No way it hasn't beaten budget.
Project Almanac, formerly known as welcome to tomorrow, drops from two to six this week.
Two weeks, 15.8 million dollars on a 12 million dollar budget.
I haven't no desire to see this.
I do, but you know, January films are like, you know, Netflix.
That's what that's what that's all it is for me.
I see a lot of these and I can wait.
There's no need to rush out and see any of these.
Kind of like a movie that was released this week that didn't do real well.
One of my favorite movies of the year,
Paddington drops from the bronze medal to fifth place this week.
$5.4 million dollars, four weeks, 57.3 million dollars.
I still don't understand this.
It's so good.
It's so much fun.
How many drinks?
How much?
I was still called sober sir.
Really?
It's, it's, it's one of those movies.
You know what you go see?
It's like a great weed movie.
Well, you know when you go see a movie with kids movie and they always have to put like adult references
in it to keep the adults focus, you don't need them.
Like this movie is that much fun.
And the co-kittins even deal with boy with this movie.
You lie, hand-a-god, hand-a-god, sir.
I have to second that.
It is really good.
Is it not, it's fun.
Well, the good thing is it's like, you, you don't really see her for more than two minutes before
she's off the screen again.
There's a, it's still, it's seen somewhere else.
So I was just, I was just afraid she was going to glint close it up.
No, I mean, she's really, really glint.
Seven sun, debut is in fourth place this week, $7.1 million dollars.
I don't have a budget on that.
Better than it had to be.
And in news that
saw this coming a mile away.
Brons metal this week, Jupiter ascending.
19 million dollars.
People budgets 176 million.
Does it break even ever?
No.
No.
Only on badmouthing nights.
Yeah, I've heard nothing but bad things about it.
Well, when it moves from August to March to February?
Is this been the White Jowsky's done?
Yeah, should I say, was, was the first fakers of Lucas?
Was the first fakers of Lucas?
I think so.
I think because it was someone else's story.
And they were able to tweak it because they did, you know, V for Vindetta.
And they were able to make that good.
Drop after that.
We're done.
Yeah.
Dropping from the gold medal to the silver medal this week,
American sniper, $24.2 million dollars.
Seven weeks, $282.3 million dollars.
Budget was 58.8.
Hashtag, America.
Merck.
Great film.
I see.
I have no desire to see it for all.
I've read the book.
I'm happy with the book.
But first, you enjoyed the book?
I didn't enjoy the book.
And I am like left-wing liberal hate wars.
But this guy gave a pretty good perspective on a band who wants to serve as
country, the trouble it creates with his family, the trouble that it creates for veterans
coming home and what they go through and knowing how his life ended made.
So that was for me knowing how it ends.
I don't know that I, I'm going to see it because I want to watch all the
all eight best picture nominees.
But knowing how it ends, this one's going to be tough for me.
I was, I was happy with the way the story was portrayed because he was more involved
with that than taking the perspective of Clint Eastwood's take on the book.
I would rather read the book and I was happy with it.
And I've talked to people who have just said, like, by 10 minutes and you don't even know
it's Bradley Cooper.
Yeah, like it's that good.
The performance is that solid.
Wow.
So, wow.
And, you know, like three times winning the weekend with 56 million dollars.
You heard me say that correctly on a $74 million budget.
The SpongeBob movie, Sponge Out of Water.
Need a lot of weed for that.
But this looks funny to me.
Like, I've never watched SpongeBob, but this looks fun.
No, but it this looks like it would be fun to watch because they do the whole,
they're out in the real world thing.
So, you get, I may know that he lives in a pineapple under the sea and I will never forget that.
Yeah, I'll tell you why.
We were playing trivia over suit one time and I made it all the way to the end,
gotten to the middle and that was the question and I didn't know the answer.
And I will never forget it again.
And Maloney plays the pirate, right?
Oh, I, does that not Maloney?
No.
Tell me about that.
Oh, welcome to the, how do you say?
I, yes, show.
When I'm, another one of my favorite SNL sketches.
Do you see that when Chris Katan was playing him in general for love, you it?
Yes.
And these two.
What's under their names?
Don't break it in.
They're sleeping like two cute little boobily things.
Chris Katan, very underrated.
Sarah don't like that.
Oh, I think Sarah and I live was the only thing that made him good.
Because you could only take him as long as a sketch.
Yeah, that's it.
I thought he would have been a good nightcrawler though.
Yeah, he used the face for it.
Sir need to get out.
I think you need to leave.
But Clay, I kind of physically, physically.
I think you could have pulled it out.
Now we should accompany Rob on the way out.
He's already played the monkey boy character a billion times.
With a rock, too, by the way.
Yeah, all he needs is to blue make up with the point of years.
And he would kind of look like nightcrawler.
Katan, you read the nightcrawler comic.
I'm not saying acting wise.
I'm just saying physically.
He could pull it off.
Okay.
Katan can't keep a straight face for anything.
This is actually act for more than 60 seconds.
Probably not.
I'm just, you're saying physically.
That's all I was saying.
I mean, he was a guy who was like a supporting character on the middle and got buffed.
Did you hear that, Chad?
The band is tuning out.
We don't get to play this one very often.
Yeah, that.
Because we have Hunger Games news.
Mocking J part two will have an IMAX release.
Of course, anyway, to boost those ticket prizes up.
I'm looking forward to it.
I enjoyed Mocking J part one.
I'm not saying I think catching fire was the best one of the series so far.
I'll wait for him both to be out and launch.
I went now that they're doing that and spreading everything.
I can't wait.
I know it.
I didn't read it.
No rest.
My wife read all the books.
She loved them.
I just, to me, the first one really dragged.
But I thought catching fire was great.
And Mocking J was good.
It wasn't as good as catching fire.
Had that empire ending to it.
You know.
But it will get an IMAX release.
And now this next one.
Sam Jackson.
John Q sack.
Didn't they do with it?
Didn't they do that movie about the weird hotel room together?
1408.
weren't they both?
And that was a Stephen King story too.
Well, here we go.
Now we're going to do the adaptation of Stephen King's book.
Self.
Odds of it going straight to DVD.
Really.
I bet you it could be an on-demand release.
Because I haven't read.
I've read it.
I've read it.
I liked it.
I mean, it kind of plays on the, you know, tech fears and zombie like activity in the hive
mind.
But he didn't want to have done anything.
Well, barring marvel.
He take out his marvel films.
You could see a lot of both their works recently all on video on-demand.
And, you know, Sam Jackson gets a nice mention in the trailer for Ted 2.
I love that line.
Not as good as Brady.
But, you know, but VOD seems to be the way to go now.
Like when we screen predestination.
And we're going to talk about that here in a minute.
That was VOD same day as theaters.
Yeah, and I love that.
We haven't gotten to the point where VOD compares to theater release.
I mean, what you're paying, like, you know, what, what did people pay for the interview
versus going into the theater?
So I haven't seen it.
Fantastic.
It is fantastic.
I just, because I feel like I was one big publicity stunt.
And they used a real-life thing to piggyback off it.
It really kind of hit me the wrong way.
I paid five bucks.
I don't think that they were killing it with that.
I mean, it's not like what we're going to look at the money.
One of my favorite tweets about that was,
somebody said, do you realize that by going to see the interview?
You're basically giving Sony your credit card information.
Yeah, I was like, you know what, that's funny.
Don't care who you are.
I really love the film and I've watched it more than once.
I think it's Netflix, I think it's already on Netflix.
Yeah, so you can check it out now.
So there's some interesting news about GI Joe 3.
Allegedly, Tomax and Zamont will be in this one,
which I like the twins.
Yeah.
The communion twins.
Oh, okay.
But there's talk of Matt Tracker making a third of this.
And the stories have still not been good.
Let's work on that before we start just adding more.
Well, apparently Matt Tracker has a figure in the brand new line.
And if you don't know who Matt Tracker is,
he was the head of an organization called Mask.
Mobile Armored Strike Command.
That was its own show in the 80s,
where it was kind of like GI Joe meets transformers
without the robots.
Everybody had a vehicle that did multiple things.
Like Tracker had what I guess could be construed
as a transam from the 80s, but it opened up Lotus
the Lorian style and everybody had these energy masks.
So the bad guys didn't know who the good guys were.
And it was one of my favorite shows.
So is that the only draw for you?
I'll go.
So you will see that in theaters.
I saw the second one.
So does.
Because I like the first one.
Are you serious?
The first one I see it by bar was so low
that I could have walked over it.
So I've seen it in my expectations.
It had such a great cast and such a horrible, horrible story.
And then the second one, and I was like,
so we have Bruce Willis and don't know what to do with him.
They've not very many people to anymore now.
But, you know, it's gonna happen.
And speaking of other sequels,
a necessary sequels, indeed, just like GI Joe.
Maybe neighbors too is coming next year.
So haven't seen the first one.
It is funny until the third act and it's like
they don't know what to do.
So it's a setup joke, setup joke, a lot of, you know,
are rated funny stuff that happens.
But they get to that third act and it just is all over the place.
Kind of like this is the end was,
oh, the last third of that movie just went everywhere.
But let's see, I love this is the end.
It's a bad thing to love them playing their
thing exaggerated version of themselves.
Yeah, but in that third act of neighbors,
you just, oh, it's just so awful.
Like I don't know why they got a sequel
because I hated that movie.
Really, I, I don't know.
And that's one of those I'll catch eventually.
Kind of movies.
Yeah.
You know, like right now the next movie,
I have queued up into my DVR as bad words with
baiting up.
Yeah, and so I wanted to see that.
But again, one I can wait for.
Yeah, I mean it was on cable.
So I recorded it and I've been wanting to see it
because I saw the trailer trailer.
It's hilarious.
Yeah, I'll tell you what looks interesting to me
is the voices.
Oh, yeah, with a Ryan Reynolds film where his pets
are talking to him.
Oh, okay, yeah.
And he's, I did see the trailer for True Story as well.
That looks so man.
I actually heard the voices is one of those
I'm going to wait until somebody who's opinion
I value tells me that is fantastic because it's just
it's kind of low on my radar.
And it's like, I'd like the premise,
but the way you're presenting it to me looks really bad.
And an interesting news for the Oscars coming up in three
weeks.
Tegan and Sarah are going to perform everything is awesome
with the lonely island.
Oh, dear.
I'm in.
I'm in.
I'm in.
I don't know.
Very good for you.
I was going to keep up some lonely island.
Otherwise, I got nothing by them.
I can play on the show if I think so.
But yeah, that's going to happen.
Moving new releases in places you see,
moving new releases in this week.
King's been the secret service.
I'm in.
Work, we're going to be screening it this week.
Look for a special edition coming up later this week.
I'm excited.
I'm sorry.
That's my Valentine's plans with myself.
Hey, I'm not mad at you.
And mark him will play himself.
Hey, because apparently in the graphic novel,
there's a lot of geek actor references
of them being themselves in the comic.
So he plays himself.
Yes.
Does he play himself playing cotton marker?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Although there is a Jane song about strikeback monopoly.
I don't know.
I saw that.
So there's that.
Also, 50 shades of gray this week.
Don't says in the chat room.
There is a screening Wednesday night, but no press
invites.
And it's going to be public only, no press.
That's not a good song.
Never a good sign of the Kingsman.
No, 50 shades of gray.
Oh, oh, apparently someone has already done it.
Lego version on it.
It's funny.
It is funny.
So all single guys, just wait outside that theater.
And I've made my prediction now granted.
It is the largest selling fan dango non-sequel since the first
hunger games.
The hype dies after two weeks.
Well, they're, it's going to do a good money for the first two
weekends.
And then after that, it's going to take a nose dive.
Chad doesn't agree with me.
He think it's going to make billions.
I think the soccer moms are just going to keep pumping money into
that.
I think it's sick of it.
I have to agree with you.
There's a reason we have a sequel to Magic Mike.
Yeah.
But see, Magic Mike was one of those things.
There was no buildup for it.
50 shades of gray.
This is because there was a whole non-sequel.
Not like that way.
But there was buildup.
If you done this movie two years ago, I would agree.
Like a billion dollars.
But I think they've waited too long.
And do you think that, no, granted, I'm not the target demo.
Do you think that the February release is really because of Valentine's Day?
What they're going to expand through what I just read in the chat room?
Absolutely not.
Because if they're not even asking press to be at the screening, that's a problem.
That's a huge problem.
I think Valentine's weekend is the only time you're getting your husband to go to see
this.
The only Valentine's movie that I really remember being there or two that were
in Valentine's Day weekend.
Silence of the Lambs and Gwain's World, the last Daredevil.
The last diehard was a diehard was a diehard was a really wild.
And also a movie called the rewrite this week.
An Oscar winning writer in a slump leaves Hollywood to teach screenwriting at a college
on the East Coast where he falls for a single mom taking classes there.
JK Simmons, Marissa Tome, Allison Janney, Hugh Grant, Chris Elliott or he been.
You know, that looks interesting.
I'm a CJ.
Where is the Tome?
JK Simmons can do very little wrong in my opinion.
All right, let's get into DVD and blue right new releases.
101 Dalmatians Diamond Edition.
Isn't that isn't this a weird time for them to be releasing diamond editions?
Aren't those usually the fall?
They do too.
I'll do that.
They do a springman and the fall went.
I cannot wait for.
Comes out the table for my birthday, October 6.
What is it this year?
Aladdin.
I don't know, I don't know.
Another movie.
And Clay, I hope you've seen this night crawler.
No, I have no idea.
Oh, dear dude, see this movie.
I've heard fantastic thing.
Like you're like Jake Jilinhoi and you watch this and you're like,
I think he might be off for me.
There's no movie, I go, you know what?
Do really love Jake Jilinhoi in this film.
Enemy was good.
This took his dark side to a whole new level.
Like you finish this movie and you're like, I need a shower.
Like it's, it's that dark and gritty and just.
It will blow your mind.
I think I've gotten to the age where I, I just, I weighed on a lot of films.
Like you have so many options at home that I just kind of did.
And that was one that was like, there's nothing in it that draws me.
This says, I mean, even here in great things doesn't make me go,
I need to rush out.
We screen this, I believe in December, Chad.
I believe so.
And it was just like, we all walked out and we're just like, wow.
I mean, it takes a lot to drive me to theater.
I went to the theater last year to go see Grimmons.
I mean, that's, you know, I'll go back for nostalgia,
but some of these films, I'm just like, I can wait.
And for me, to go to a movie that's not a screening,
it's got to be like an event film.
Like I'll go do the Marvel Marathon if they do it this year.
And of course, in December, I know we're all going to be the week before Christmas.
That's not the night ourselves.
Also this week, Lego DC Comics Superheroes, the Justice League versus Bizarre League.
Wow, somebody was showing a trailer for this earlier today.
Oh, am I missed it?
Also Alexander and the Terrible Horrible, no good, very bad day.
The 10 page book turned into an hour and a half movie with T. Steve Corral.
From Disney, kill the messenger.
Anybody remember this thing when it came out?
Jeremy Renner, Robert Patrick.
A reporter becomes a target of a vicious smear campaign that drives into the point of suicide.
After he exposes the CIA's role in arming controversial rebels in Nicaragua
and importing cocaine into California.
Based on a true story.
Yeah, I do remember seeing the trailers for this.
Again, you know, that almost looks like that could just be a TV movie.
I mean, there really does.
Yeah, I mean, there's just nothing appealing.
I think we're getting to that point.
We need to start making some decisions on theater releases versus, you know,
I can watch this on my 65-inch TV at home and feel like it's, you know, in the theater.
Another great movie, Rose Water.
The movie that was directed by John the Stewart.
Great movie, not the Greenliner.
No, not Greenliner.
But this, this was a really, really good movie as well.
A couple of criteria and collections of releases this week.
Don't look now and a day in the country.
As criterion continues to go really obscure.
Laggies do yourself a favor.
If someone gives you this, light it on fire in front of them.
Oh, really?
This is terrible.
Actually, just throw them into bathtub pulses.
It was terrible.
It's like, it's good.
It's Sam Rockwell is not on the screen.
It's horrible.
He actually tries to save this film.
That's one.
It's a care nightly.
You'll be annoyed.
You'll be annoyed by her by about halfway.
You can't get past the thome in the bathtub.
Well, it's, I think that's a run-white joke, I think.
But it's, it's apropos.
It works there.
You know how many pairs of scissors you got to buy to collect.
Exactly.
You need to find an owl at the, like, the one from the Tootsie Paukmer.
How many pairs of scissors does it take to fill up about that?
Let's see, now I'm just picturing like a Valentine tub made for two with just
filled with scissors.
Oh, dear.
It was actually constructed by Glenn Close.
The song, which is a faith-based film based on song of Solomon.
And if you haven't think about song of Solomon,
I don't know that I'd be some movie on it.
But that's just me.
And a movie we were just talking about, a little while ago,
pre-destination with Ethan Hawke.
Really enjoyed this film based on a Heinlein story.
I've been told, I need to see this.
Did you, there was a series of time travel movies that...
I can't really put it.
I can't really put it out and he said,
I need everyone to watch all of these and then give me your feedback on.
And this was one of them.
Yeah, I put on their pre-destination was awesome.
Like, I've lived, I've lived to see the day where I found two Ethan Hawke movies that I enjoyed.
Yeah, when I was in the, the same year.
When we lived that screening the other night and you're, like, best movie we've seen this year.
Actually, no pre-destination would be the best movie I've seen this year.
So that was a really, really good way.
It was a video on demand.
And I was like, okay, well, add it to the, you know, maybe.
And so, I'll check it out.
Yeah, check it out.
Please do so.
All right, let's get into Inmemorium.
One kind of obscure and one of them not so obscure.
Passing away at the age of 67, Richard Bonhill.
I mean, what else do I need to say besides Empire Jedi,
Flash Gordon, Highlander, and Doctor Who?
Who the heck was this guy?
He was, he was near Nub.
Real him.
He was a puppeteer.
He also was a competitive fencer and fencing coach.
He was the veteran saber or sobriety world champion in 2010.
Passed away this week.
Why am I still playing a topic dog there?
Oh, I clicked it and it didn't go.
Oh, there it went.
No, it went.
Yeah, I mean, you got Empire and Jedi.
You are in Flash Gordon, not the, like, Gordon Mark.
So, so I figured we put that in there for you.
But also passing away this morning.
Yeah, I got notification from ESPN Dean Smith.
One of the greatest college football coaches of all time.
Football.
No, he coached North Carolina basketball.
Basketball.
Yeah, you said I said football.
I apologize.
I mean, granted, lived a full life.
That is the age of 83 in Chapel Hill.
He played from 1943 to 1953.
Kansas became an assistant there.
Then was an assistant at Air Force.
Then was an assistant at North Carolina.
Took that job in 1961.
Coached until 1997, also coached the 1976 US men's national team.
I was born in Emporia, Kansas.
Both of his parents were public school teachers.
And his father coached the Emporia High Spartans to basketball team
to the 1934 state title in Kansas.
They were also notable for having the first African American basketball player in Kansas
tournament history.
He led it in basketball all four years at Tepika High School.
But he was also, he also was the, he was also quarterback for his high school football team
and played cancer for the baseball team.
If you know anything about college basketball, this is the guy.
Oh, I don't know because he coached a guy you might know named Michael Jordan.
Jordan released a statement talking and comparing him as a second father.
I mean, he, there's, I've never heard anything, anybody say anything but good things about being
Smith.
It's just that we're getting to that point in our life or we're losing some people that we've literally
grown up or grown up with.
And this was a guy that, I mean, the people that he coached and James Worthy, Sam Perkins.
George Lynch, Eric Montro's, Brian Reese, Donald Williams, Derek Phelps.
This guy pushed a lot of guys to the NBA.
You know, when you, when you are, Eric Montro's doesn't get to the NBA unless he's being coached.
Exactly.
When you have the tobacco road rivalry and a guy like Coach K will always defer to him, you know,
and Coach K is on the Mount Rushmore.
I mean, you're going to match more of college basketball coaches.
Him and these with a side by side and I always love just watching him sit on the sidelines
because he was, he was animated but he had that controlled chaos thing going.
You always respected him. I don't know anybody that didn't and waking up to that this morning was
a rough deal for me. Dean Smith passes away at the age of 83. Apparently they're saying it was last
night because the listing I'm showing you passed away yesterday. So I guess it was late last night
because I got the notification this morning.
All right, we end every show with a list and tonight is no exception.
I actually run it on good time tonight too. Well, we got an award show to get through it.
Exactly. The pendulum swings back to me this week and as I was sitting around trying to think of a
list idea, I saw a commercial and I went, so I thought to myself, what are some of the most
wheels off celebrity endorsements that we've had? Number 10 anything with Bieber's name on it.
I'm just going to put it out there. Although, I don't know if you saw it's clay on SNL,
Kate McKinnon, making fun of the Bieber Calvin Klein ads. I did. Oh, I, I, I was crying out.
That's what my pp is. And again, strong supporting cast, Sicily strong on that one.
And she, everything she does in that skit is hilarious. When they, what was the, the, the
song they did, where it was like, I met my mom's house in my room. And it was, it was like a
desk, like a desk in these child, deity cane kind of thing with all the women talking about going home
for the holidays with their boyfriends and being in their old childhood room. That was hilarious.
I mean, they have a fantastic cast, but just seeing, you know, in that, when you see Kate McKinnon,
and she dominates. Oh, dominates whatever she does, but Sicily just compliments her every bit in
those two are just, again, they're just worked rock and shuffling. Number nine, two words.
Shaq Fu. I actually started watching steel. It was on the, it was on the other day. Nothing else on
anywhere. This is what happens when this is the guy that tries to dismiss me from my own home.
This, I was watching this because I, I, I really want to see steel make a comeback. I want him to
either be on flash or arrow. I want to see somebody play him. And I, and I, okay, let me ask you who
this be at Juselba? Yes, but you give me a comment. It's John Stewart. If you give me him his steel.
No, because I would put steel on TV. So I'd need the TV actor. It's not going to be a
wire. He was on the wire. He was able to move. He's with him. And apparently we're getting in
American version of Luther, which I don't understand why we need to do that. Ridiculous.
Unnecessary. I've got the, the diamond. He's demon. Yeah.
I don't know. Little too rugged accents to stick. You can get past that.
I will, I will have, I'll have it cast for you before the end of the game. What about the
guy that plays anime since part of his. For Dr. Oh, yeah, he'd be good. I've got it. I've got it.
Donald Fazon. We saw him in kick ass too. He's got to be an older character who has a
daughter that does take over for him eventually. I think we put him in there. And we have to see it.
We have a guy. And I think we put him on era. We, because you have to have
on one side of the fence. You're going to have a lot of weird, you know, supernatural,
or superhero characters. You're going to have Captain Cole. You're going to have all these guys
over a flash. I think you have to have some homemade heroes. You know, guys that are coming up
on their own, doing it themselves, being inspired by Arrow. And I think you definitely put steel
on Arrow. Yeah, I think if you had Detroit's to the Arrow would be the better bet.
Number eight, and I swear this was a thing, and I really had to look it up. Rick Flair Finance.
Oh dear, guys, it was an honest, a god company. A man with three X wives who has piled for bankruptcy
on more than one occasion at his own finance company. Notice you said, had had his company.
Number seven, Kathy Lee Gifford's Walmart clothing line. I remember this. It's almost like Cindy
Crawford in her line for rooms to go. It's like, what, how did we get here? Oh, a bit, do you
remember why it fell apart? Hmm. She had like, oh, was the sweatshop there? Yeah, she was running
to shop overseas. And so she had like small children making the clothes. And it was out
acting the whole plausible deniability. I had no idea. They exactly. I would never, you know,
she was on her third bottle of wine that day. Number six, Heidi Clume's fruit flirtations.
I actually had to look this up. These were gummy fruit. What the hell? That were endorsed by
Heidi Clume. It's like, you've got a super model endorsing things that have more than three
times a daily allowance of sugar and carbs that kids should be in taking. And there's like a really
creepy cartoon version of her face on the back of Jane. Yeah. I'm like, I've never heard of this,
but it's going on the list because it's creepy. Right. Red lipstick and she's just throwing, but
slowly putting them in her mouth. That's all she's doing. That may sell it then sell it to us. Yeah.
Number five, but I remember this Fabio for I can't believe it's not but oh God, I remember this.
You're just, you're like, question. Again, how did we get here? Like, I can't believe it's not
but a spray. I know. It's patio furniture. I know. I was expecting butter. Number four, Jay Leno for
Doritos. Those ads wore me. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But that's a whole crutch all you want. We'll make more
you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But I don't even Bob Dylan pitching me. No, go away Bob. Did you?
You and your creepy mustache. Oh, wait. You two ever hear him on his own show on XM. Oh, yeah.
Making you want to pull your ear drops out with a sport. Not nearly as awesome as Keith sweats.
Uh, call us with your love questions on a romance hotel. But that's not like my friend.
Can we back up one and go to the Doritos? Is anyone hasn't heard the Bill Hicks bit?
I ever on Leno and Doritos and NBC do yourself a favor. Look it up. It's fantastic.
I didn't Bill Hicks in general. Yes, but just there. It's not underrated. Oh, yeah. God rest his soul.
Yeah, and check out the documentary on his life. Oh, American. I think I've got to mind. Yeah.
Number two, Hulk Hogan's ultimate grill. If you know the background to this and Hogan talks about this
openly, the George Foreman grill was actually pitched to his agent first. A lot of people. Well,
Hogan before Foreman. Yeah. Foreman was like, way, Hogan wasn't home to get the call. So there were
two products. The grill and like a magic bullet mixer thing. So his agent made the call and said he's
not home. We're going to go with the bullet. Foreman winds up with the grill. So later on, Hogan decides
he's going to have his own version. I bet you the agent went up with the bullet. Yes,
head. Hogan's done a lot of weird non wrestling related things, other than Ed Dennis and his
didn't he have a cartoon for a while? Well, there was a rocking wrestling cartoon. Okay.
And I think none of the person out of these to their own voices. Because I was going to say,
I know nothing about wrestling. I'm way, I know way too much about Hulk. Oh, because he's
everywhere. He had thunder and paradise. He had an energy tree. The man and it was,
they said, Mr. Nanny. Mr. Nanny. Mr. Nanny. And what was the other one where he was like an
intergalactic bounty hunter? We was like, low bow basically. Oh, God. Suburban command. Yeah.
Yeah. How did I know that? I'm so so you need to do something to get that air head. No
holds bar. Kick him out of his house again. And number one, and the epic fail of this made me so
happy. The Kardashian card. Remember this thing? No. It was a debit card that had all three
of the sisters on it. But the thing was, it cost you a hundred bucks to activate it. And there
were so many fees and things with this card that people were losing all their money. They couldn't
spend anything on the card because they had nothing because they kept taking money away from it.
It lasted. So it's a card that's weaker. Yeah. Exactly. It was like a week or so and they had to
pull them off the market because the deal they made with this company was so outrageous. Nobody could
keep any money on these cards. And I was like, hmm, kind of makes sense. Did you read a contract?
Oh, no. You don't, because you can't read. But still. Ouch. Look, this is a woman who made
bad lines today because she was on Instagram because she cut her hair off. Don't care. Who
came credit. Yes. Oh, God. It's just so bizarre. Like I feel so old though. I don't understand the
appeal that she has to this younger generation. It's because this generation, it's famous for being
famous. Make a sex tape with us celebrity. You'll make money off it for the rest of your life.
I mean, look what they did to Bruce Jenner. Do I need to go any further on that one? No. No.
Transparent is what they're calling that show. Oh. Oh. It's the loan. Make a movie called Bullet to the
head. That's the five people. Yeah. Yeah. I just. I mean, the only way I would ever watch that
card action show is if it was the last episode. And they were also going to know what chip. It was
a thunder thunder down thunder tone. Only one leaves. Three skanks in her no skanks leave. And why
is the voice doing that now? Have you seen this? Yeah. They're the horse for the voice. They're
ad campaigns thunder dome. Uh oh. And someone's actually singing the song in thunder dome. Oh,
what I did see this. It was a simple spot. And I thought this is the worst thing I've ever seen.
And I've seen people die in car accident. So this I just like this is what like this is how we're
going to do. I'm really trying to fight through that. I'm really trying to fight that sink in
percent. Yeah. What do I think? I kind of had to fight through that. Do you know the darkness
music? It just like I was like this is how you're going to promote the show. Like my wife loves
the show. I never watched an episode. Especially Christina Aguilar is just insane. Like she's lost her mind.
Do we have any honorable mentions for product? I'm going to ask you guys. Oh Terry Bradshaw.
Sheingles. Oh my god. Throw them through the window. Do we need to talk about a
character? Terry Bradshaw. I'm going to show that ruin the Super Bowl last week.
Not the nationwide. Oh, dead kid. Yeah. I was like, like everybody. There's a we had a few
people over to watch the game and everybody went, what the crap was that? Like you just like killed
the entire Super Bowl. It was a warm fuzzy cute commercial. It just went left turn out of nowhere.
It was just, oh god. But they're trying to piggyback off of domestic violence and how
popular they already done that earlier in the game. That the always commercial.
Like you spend the whole time going, oh this is anti bullying. This is great. Always. Whoa. Whoa.
This took a weird dirt. Do you know women are, they love that commercial. It was a great
commercial up until what it was for. Like it's anti bullying. I'm all about it and empowering women
and being strong. What? Why? Hold on. What was that last part? Okay. What's to the plots?
