The following is a sooner or gator production.
No one's, no one's, no one's.
Good morning!
Woo!
Joe, stop.
Are you ready for the jam?
I said are you ready for the jam?
Yo, gee.
Kick it.
Drum is clean!
Keep it going, uh.
Keep it going, uh.
Terry!
Wait!
Bam!
It is Saturday night.
It is 8 o'clock on the east coast.
It is 5 o'clock on the west coast.
You know it.
It is season 2, episode 27.
It is the 21st of January and the year of our Lord 2012.
Which means it is time for the clubhouse.
Right here on U-stream live every Saturday night.
Good evening to each and every one of you whether you are listening live on the archive
or on your portable device.
We welcome you individually.
And as far as knowing your name's reference cat Williams for that.
My name is Rob.
Joining me right across the desk as he does each and every week.
The beard looks fuller but the hair doesn't get any shorter.
He is chat.
The beard looks fuller.
It does.
Well see when you first trended it was kind of kind of off.
But now it's looking like it's more it's it's starting to fill in a little.
I need to trim it again.
It's getting too much gray is showing if you know what I mean.
Brother trim it ain't gonna be no good.
It actually does, you know.
It does.
I'm not taking it from someone who's got a bunch in his goatee.
It's not going anyway.
I just can't go for that.
Your beard is weird treatment from
who's the end of it going to come over to your house with Clyde Randy Johnson.
And what was that other guy?
Walt Clyde Frazier.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'll pass on that.
I'll go and I'll just deal with it.
Kind of empty in the studio time.
It's just us.
I know it's kind of all going.
There will be a guest on the show.
I got a text message from her.
She'll be calling in at about 10 minutes.
Joining us in just a few minutes.
It's been a long time since we had her on the show.
The great Kelly Hines from the Tulsa world will be on with us momentarily.
She's not going to be able to make it for the whole show.
Unfortunately, she's got a bunch of, she's,
she's an award-winning journalist.
She has things she has to do, okay?
Okay, that break in that song always freaks me out.
But she is also a fascinista.
We're going to ask hopefully get some some of that from her because
I have no fascinist sense whatsoever.
But she is a wonderful, wonderful person.
I'm excited that she's going to be back on the show.
Hopefully we'll get her on the show a little bit more often.
But she'll be calling in at about, oh, 10 minutes or so.
So be prepared for that.
You may hear my phone go off because it is plugged into the board.
Okay.
I got it on vibrate, so I don't know if that makes any difference or not.
But we'll find out, okay?
Each and every show starts with corrections.
So we are going to do that real quick.
We have a couple.
Once that more of a correction,
as much as it is a follow-up, a clarification, more right.
We were talking last week in box office numbers
about a movie that has dropped off the top 10 this week.
We bought a zoo being directed by Cameron Crow.
And we were wondering how it made money compared to almost famous.
Well, I did the research.
Almost famous had a $60 million budget.
It made $47.3 million worldwide.
$60 million, but it had to have been mostly licensing for music and stuff like that.
Because it's not like they're really huge.
It didn't break even though, which surprised me.
That's a shame.
But we bought a zoo, had a $50 million budget,
and it was already cleared to $60 million.
How did that movie cost $50 million?
And you had Matt Damon and the Johansson in it.
I don't know.
But almost famous had pretty much a bunch of unproven,
I mean, I think you're right.
I think a lot of it was the music clearance.
Yeah, it's got to be.
And because you know for we bought a zoo,
for that budget, both of their big stars had to take scale.
Well, that's probably just a passion project,
something I think.
I'm good with that.
That they believed in.
If you can hang out with Cameron Crowe, I'm good with that.
Just saying.
Also, you were swearing up and down the walls last week,
the Tim Tebow did a gatorade commercial.
It is not a gatorade commercial.
No, I said it was some kind of a dream.
F-R-S sports dream.
Okay, I don't know what it was.
And apparently he and Jericho are co-owners of something now,
like a sports complex somewhere.
Jericho?
Yeah, there's like nine people involved in there, two of them.
I just can't believe that they couldn't get him
to be a spokesman for gatorade.
Charles here.
Oh, welcome, Charlotte.
Hi, kiddo.
I mean, could you think of a better spokesman for gatorade?
Maybe.
Maybe their budget's already been exceeded.
Have you seen the number of people that they endorse?
Well, true.
But just saying.
That's a poster challenge for gatorade.
Gatorade.
Natural gator for j-
All right, we actually are going to start with something
we haven't done in a while.
This is nature.
That is our breaking news center.
This is not something we tool around with.
If we bring you the breaking news center,
we have breaking news.
This coming from ESPN news.
Apparently, Joe Paterno.
Joe Pa, his health is deteriorating rapidly.
He has now asked that family and friends
be brought to the hospital so he can say a final goodbye.
Wow.
Now, Kelly Heinz also covers a lot of sports
when she gets on the show.
We're going to ask her to see if she's got any information
that she needs to give us.
Yeah, she'd be our goalie.
But it's the weekend, so she may be off.
She may not know what's going on yet.
This is a pretty big one, though.
I think that she'd probably be all over it.
Paterno has experienced further health complications
according to his doctors.
This is happening as we speak.
That his condition is serious.
If anything breaks, we will let you know
if it happens during the show.
If not, keep an eye on our Facebook page
at the Clubhouse podcast.
By the way, our Twitter feed handle has changed.
You can follow the show at Clubhouse Show.
I agree it was easier for people.
Yeah, yeah, that's a little less.
The VRNC gets kind of...
No, no, no, no.
Yeah, if that makes any sense.
Clubhouse Show looks better on a business card.
What is it does, sir?
But Joe Pa in serious minor complications
from lung cancer treatments was what they were saying.
Hmm.
Putting the pen state things on the side,
losing Joe Pa.
That's a huge loss in the rules.
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Period.
All right.
It's time to get on the bike and ride.
I said that in case there's anybody from my work listening
because apparently it humor's them when I say that.
Perseverance and it's your catchphrase up there.
Actually, I stole it from JR.
We are going to start as we do lately.
With a little bit of media news.
Let's talk box office numbers.
This, of course, coming from boxofficemojo.com.
We get credit to them each and every week for providing us the numbers.
Now, remember,
since the show is now on Saturdays,
last week's box office totals are kind of old.
So we're going to give you the up-to-the-date box office totals for Friday.
We're going to give you your top 10.
Number 10.
If you can believe this, making $1.052 million on Friday.
Harvey Weinstein strikes again with the Iron Lady.
That's all?
That's, it's been out three weeks.
Yeah, but that's a big drop.
Especially with something, with Meryl Streep in it.
Yeah, but you know what the total box office is right now?
No.
9.954.
Yikes!
That was...
I've seen this as more of an art house film anyway.
Yeah, but that wouldn't even cover her salary.
Remember, she took all of her salary and gave it away.
I'm just back of the day.
You know, that woman was like,
box office gold.
Number nine, finally dropping out of the top three.
Sherlock Holmes, a game of shadows, still makes $1.3 million on Friday.
Another big drop.
36 days in release.
$175.1 million.
I think they're doing okay.
Yeah.
Number eight, also dropping out of the top three
Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol makes $1.538 million on Friday.
For a grand total in 36 days of $193.4 million.
So they're going neck and neck with Sherlock to the wire.
Making it happen, man.
Number seven.
As joyful noise checks in.
Oh God.
$1.6...
$1.7 million for an eight day total of $17.5 million.
Oh, you could just stay at home and punch yourself in the temple.
Or just watch the subtract two.
It'll be less pain.
Number six.
Dropping like a stone from number five, from number two last week.
Beauty and the Beast 3D.
$2.123 million.
But an eight day total of $27 million.
Man.
For a movie that all you had to do was make it 3D.
I wonder what that cost.
Especially on an established film like Beauty and the Beast.
I don't know.
That might be worth $1.13.
And speaking of Beauty and the Beast,
Happy Birthday to Robbie Benson today.
Oh, that's true.
I did see that on that.
How about that?
It's called a segue.
His picture even looks like the Beast with that freaking long flowing mane he's got.
Number five, respectable numbers.
For the Gina Carano,
Michael Douglas,
Antonio Banderis,
you and McGregor,
everybody in their brother film.
Banderis isn't that.
Yeah.
I've never noticed it.
Directed by Steven Soderberg.
How does Gina Carano fit?
I don't know.
That's the one thing that doesn't fit.
Called Haywire.
It comes in right now.
On Friday, it made $2.9 million.
Not bad.
Yeah, that's a respectable opening night for that film.
Let's keep going right now.
Number four,
a movie that comes in at number four this week that really kind of surprises me.
Extremely loud and incredibly close.
That looks like such a, I mean,
given the subject matter.
It's a $3.17 million.
It's been out 27 days.
Total.
Because they're probably counting limited release.
You know, this total box office is right now?
No tell.
3.862.
It made 3.17 last night.
I think it just went into really into wide, though.
I think that's why.
I can't help but think that it's going to start building steam
with the Oscar Buzz talk and consider who your two principal leads are.
Number three right now,
the Bane of Chad's existence has contraband checks in.
$3.7 million on Friday for an eight-day total of $37.6 million.
Not really the Bane of my existence.
I've just got sick of seeing the TV spot.
But something tells me this is not going to make its money back.
No.
Not if it's, I mean, if it's already dropped that far.
Especially after the debacle he walked into with a stupid statement he made.
I'm not even, I'm not even giving that time.
Well, now he's recanted that.
We're like, really?
You think, Mark?
Yeah.
I'm not, I'm not even giving, even giving,
Marky marks remarks about that time on the show.
Because it was the, one of the dumbest things.
One of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
Number two, the George Lucas produced vehicle red tails,
which, by the way, is at 34% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Oh, man.
6.025 million on Friday for a total.
Oh, that's, I was opening day.
So, that's what you got there for 6.05.
Number one, you want to guess?
Brand new release on Friday.
Gosh, I just, and I just read this earlier today and I've already forgotten what it was.
It's a franchise film.
It's a franchise film?
Yes.
Followed a prequel.
Followed a prequel.
Yep.
This, this, this installment in the series, followed a prequel.
I have no idea.
Underworld Awakening.
Oh, yeah.
$9.4 million on Friday.
Strong showing for them.
Strong showing.
Let us move on right now.
Gotta go, a little bit of piece of information to come up.
John's checking in.
Good to see you, sir.
Welcome.
That is a segue there.
What else are you going to play?
We have 4-2 information.
Idris Elba will be in the sequel.
Hot off of his Golden Globe win.
That's a bad man, dude.
I see his.
Classy guy, dude.
Go back and watch the wire.
Oh, I watched it.
Stranger Bell is one of the great characters of our time.
I didn't watch it.
I didn't watch all of it.
I watched a good chunk of it.
You know who I'm talking to.
Oh, I know he's got his character on the wire.
And it blew my mind when I found out he was British.
Yes.
I didn't know until he showed up on Opie and Anthony one more.
And all of a sudden he started talking.
I was like, well, wait, wait, what?
What?
Did you say something about that?
No, I didn't.
No, no, no.
And neither will you.
You should say no.
Yes, I like him.
Oh, man.
God.
Let it go.
But he will be in 4-2.
So I thought his character was awesome in the first place.
And he used to have that dude on screen I'm good with.
They really didn't give him all that much to do in the first one.
Hopefully they let him.
But he played a very important part.
Yeah, he did.
I just hope they give him a little bit more of a chunk
of a role to play this time.
I just thought that I just wanted to hear this song.
I don't know.
Is this from my live four?
No, this is the original.
This is not the destroyer.
So, OK.
Oh, I tried because there was no crowd.
1976 checking in.
We also got news on another film coming up.
As the lone ranger goes before camera's next month.
We saw the logo.
You and I talked about this the other night in the phone.
I liked the logo.
Yeah, yeah.
Very classy, very simple.
Minimalist.
Yes, so to speak.
But I liked it in the black and white better than I liked it in the color.
I saw a color version too.
Oh, I didn't realize there was an oven.
After the side of the one you found.
Uh-huh.
It was like a...
Call it the Michael Bay color palette.
The heck is this?
It's just a song called lone ranger.
OK.
I don't have the themes on it.
You don't have the William Tell Overture.
I can't have everything, sir.
Dude, that came...
Like, whenever you and I had our first MP3 players
with creative jukebox,
it came packed onto the dead camera.
Mine didn't, because remember, I bought mine...
Mine was gently owned.
Yeah, but mine wasn't included in mine.
I'd never delete that stuff.
The stuff that was preloaded, it was not removable.
It was locked.
Mine wasn't.
They had a bunch of classic themes.
You know, classical music, and that was one of them.
This is interesting here.
This isn't bullet point.
Just Whedon does an interview this week,
where he says that the Avengers is actually going to be told
from the point of view of Captain America.
He said, quote,
He's the guy who just woke up and sees this weird-ass world.
Everybody else has been living in it.
I gotta say this, though.
We're just gonna make this a whole fish out of water story
with a lot of fun.
We're just gonna make this a whole fish out of water story
with Cap.
I'm now in my first level of worry.
Because I've seen a picture of Cap with the new armor.
The helmet does not work.
Eh, I know.
What have I said from the get-go about Captain America?
Yeah.
You said that was gonna be the stumbling point.
The costume is the biggest stumbling block.
Well, not the costume, just the helmet.
The costume is fine.
It's that dead gun.
What's he gonna do with the head gear?
And not make it look ridiculous.
It just...
I'm a little worried.
I'm gonna be honest.
I'm a little worried.
I would be too worried.
I think it's in good hands.
Yeah, I mean,
I don't think I'm not gonna go see it.
I would hope you would.
Out of your mind.
But...
Although I did see the Hulk action figure that's been released.
He's a much darker green than we're used to.
You know, I tried sitting through the original.
The Angley version?
Yeah.
I sat through that again and I made it up to...
What was it you called Smackdown earlier today?
The cure for insomnia?
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
Oh gosh.
That is such a tough watch.
It truly is.
I just not love that character.
That was a hard movie to watch.
You did crouching tiger hitting dragons, aren't you?
You're above this.
Then there's this next story.
I'm very intrigued.
Or as Dan Levittards, I was a...
C-E-C, I'm very intrigued.
I love that show.
If you're not watching Dan Levittard is highly questionable,
there's something wrong with you.
That show is genius.
There's a new movie coming out called The Emperor.
Tommy Lee Jones is in this, playing General Douglas MacArthur.
I'm already in.
Basically, the story is it takes place after Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
After the bombs have been dropped.
And basically, the war is almost over.
And General MacArthur is helping lead Japan out of the rubble.
And they have already captured Hirohito.
And he's not sure what he's going to do.
And he goes to one of his advisors,
who speaks Japanese.
Who's being played by somebody kind of wheels off.
If you write Jason Dedrick's name on it or something,
somebody in his ilk is playing the Japanese specialist.
But you know what, in?
In.
Oh, absolutely.
Tommy Lee Jones' lens credibility is about anything he gets involved in.
And he's local.
And James Brolin.
I'm still getting over that.
If you have not seen the trailer for Men in Black 3,
do yourself a solid.
Just the very end when you see James Brolin.
It's like, you actually take a double take and you have to ask yourself,
has this been looped?
I guess it could have been, but I don't know if they did.
They did an awful good job.
But then we talked about that earlier this week.
We're doing the rumors that the guy that played Flash Gordon was looped.
And if so, that was a very good job.
But the more the more I think about you telling me about that.
And we're talking about the movie, not the failed sci-fi TV show of Flash Gordon.
But the more I thought about it, I was thinking about specific scenes
where it didn't seem like what he said was matching his mannerisms.
And I mean, if you have the original soundtrack,
when they, you know, they've got little pieces of dialogue.
And the dialogue used on the soundtrack is different.
Is it really tone and inflection, same words, same dialogue,
but different delivery?
Is the voice sound similar to that?
No, that's the thing.
Wow.
You know, and I remember...
So you may own the Zapruder film of Flash Gordon,
is what you're telling me.
Well, I mean, a lot of people did, you know,
like the original video release,
you know, whenever,
whenever, right before they take off,
and he goes, well, I guess we'll be running along now
when he's getting out of the rocket that Zarcoff kicks him out of.
I've heard two different versions of dialogue
in two different versions of the film I've had.
Huh.
So it's, it's, it's glaringly obvious
that something was done there with this dialogue.
You have me intrigued by this, sir.
Do some research on that.
Talked about red tails earlier.
Let's talk about its producer.
Mr. Jorge Lucas.
Or George Sackool.
George Sackool, as we look at him up above your closet.
You know, I'll, I'll never forget.
I don't want to get sidetracked for just a second.
We're going to be joined any moment
by Kelly Heinz from Tulsa World.
We went to a sci-fi expo once and do you?
Were you there when they were given those figures
away that we got from celebration two?
No.
There was a guy that did all the announcements.
We used to call him comic book guy
because he looked and sounded just like
conversation.
Worst announcer ever.
I remember we are going to kill
we know the George,
George Sackool figure that was a
purchased at celebration two.
If you're not aware,
George is for George and Sackool is Lucas
very winning these spin backwards.
I swear to you.
That's exactly what happened.
You want to go kick his chair out from underneath him
when he's outside?
Really captain obvious.
I wanted to turn into Bugs Bunny
where I take the club out
and put it on real slow
and then you're sliding.
Go to another hot wing
eating contest and get up off the
stage.
I found that, sir.
No, that was me.
That was me.
But George Lucas says that
after red tails,
he will no longer
be doing any more blockbusters.
He's only going to do art house films.
And somebody said,
well, so no more Star Wars.
And then he went on this
weird rant about
no matter what I do.
The fanboys are going to get on me
on their way.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Let me tell you something,
Haas.
Oh my.
You brought this
on yourself.
Coincidentally,
I looked up his net worth
this week.
About three billion.
Oh no.
Higher.
Really?
What is George Lucas's net worth?
13 billion.
I got that on me.
So, I really don't want to hear
you cry, Mr. Lucas.
I loved your stuff.
The operative order being
loved.
Your stuff.
Back in the day.
It took you one and a half
pictures to almost get it right.
So,
it's not, this has got nothing to do
with the fanboys.
You are, you are better
than what you are
been putting out.
You are capable of better
than that.
You directed episode four.
Isn't it true you wrote that
over a weekend?
I did.
Definitely.
What it seems like.
But you know what?
You know what's sad?
He hacked it out.
Lotus notes.
You leave Lotus notes out
of this conversation, sir.
But you know what's sad to me?
I am still seriously
considering going
to watching episode one and three D.
Just to see how it looks,
you know,
we'll have to put on a,
you know, an alarm clock
that will buzz us and wake us up.
You know,
when we just get lulled
asleep by the
yippee-isms of Jake Lloyd.
Jake Lloyd in
beautiful,
precious 3D
and the lunatic
ramlings.
I'm a person in my name is Anakin.
And the lunatic
ramlings of Ahmed Best
as his wonderful character is a
person.
Let's see.
You and I have had this
discussion a thousand times.
First of all,
I didn't think episode one was that
bad.
To me, it was the first chapter
of a book that you have to
get everything set up for later.
Now, at the time,
did you really hear of our Lord
1999,
yes, we all had the jar jar problem.
But that's one of the very few
things I can say,
Lucas fixed it
because it's all jar jars fault.
So to me, that kind of
redeems the anointness of
jar jar binks because the whole
thing he sets in motion.
And so that kind of made me happy.
But the biggest problem
with that whole theory
is that jar jar never gets his
come up and he doesn't make
episode four.
No, but neither did Padme
and we at least got to watch
your funeral.
I would have loved to have watched
his.
I saw, by the way,
I don't know who put this up.
Did you see this?
Yeah, yeah.
Did you see this Ewok
t-shirt that made the rounds?
It's a picture of an Ewok
dressed as Smoky the Bear.
Only you can prevent
forest fires.
They don't build a freaking
funeral pirate.
No.
I don't.
I've got it saved on my
all my life.
But that's all this.
I saw that I dropped my
iPod.
That is absolutely covered
in awesome sauce.
I had to throw that in here.
I'm going to put that on the
Facebook page.
Just a whole other people can see
it was so free.
Let us now talk about movie
schedules because paramounts
kind of gone crazy.
No, a Warner Brothers.
I'm sorry.
Warner Brothers has gone a little
nuts lately.
I wonder why.
Don't mind if they're scared of
something.
Well,
if you did not know there is
a there was a Broadway show
called Rock of Ages.
And really what this is,
this is very across the
universe ask,
where it's a story told
through hair band,
hair band music.
Want to try that again?
Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap,
hair band music.
Yes.
Yes, that.
Do you know who stars in this
thing?
I know that cruise was
was has been
attached to it for a long time.
This thing's got I saw his
name and I was like, what?
This thing's got an
a pretty impressive roster.
I'm I'm I'm going to pull it up
for you right now.
Right now it is set for release
on June the 15th.
It was June 1st.
It's been pushed back two weeks,
which a two week pushback
is not that big a deal,
especially in June.
But it makes me wonder what is
slated to come out on June 1st.
You got me there.
Because think about how
how comic book heavy our
summer's going to be.
Tom Cruise,
Maelan Ackerman,
Russell Brand,
Alec Baldwin,
Catherine Zeta Jones,
Paul Giamatti,
Julian Huff,
Mary J. Blyge,
Will Forte,
Kevin Nash.
He's going to be a Russian
bodyguard.
He is a bodyguard
for Stacey Jackson,
who is played by Tom Cruise,
STAC EU.
Don't miss Wednesday.
The Jules Aster,
Zack Ryder is going to be in it.
You know what?
Why not?
That's my new leader.
But it's been pushed back two weeks.
This Jack the Giant Killer,
that you said you saw a trailer for,
you were in on.
It looks cool to me.
It has been pushed from May to Christmas.
It's easy.
So I don't know,
is it to me that's kind of a lateral move?
Because you're at the beginning
of the summer blockbuster season.
But now you're going from the summer blockbuster season
to the holiday season.
So is to me that's a lateral move?
Unless it just Brian Singer
doesn't feel like competing with
something else coming out that same week.
To be the other problem is David
Doppkin, who is a producer on Jack the Giant Killer.
He was also directed wedding crashers.
His latest opus Arthur and Lancelot
has been removed from Warner Brothers
schedule indefinitely.
So was it in production?
Or did they just,
was it in free?
Was it filming?
Did they pull a band of Lamontian
just pull this thing?
I don't know.
I'm going to look it up for you right now
and see what we're doing on this.
That's a pretty big move.
Right now,
IMDB has it listed for a 2013 release.
Gary Oldman was rumored to play
Merlin in this.
There's only three people listed
in the cast.
Gary Oldman,
a kit herring tin to play Arthur
and a Joe Kinneman to play Lancelot.
And directed by the
the guy, the director wedding crashers.
So were they playing this straight
or was this going to be a comment?
I don't know.
That's all the information IMDB has.
I've known, I know nothing about this
and I'm normally all over
about anything about the Arthur legend.
We're going to talk a little bit about the
about the Golden Globes.
It's been a week.
So a lot of the news is old.
Just a couple of things.
First of all, congratulations,
Samuel L Jackson.
We're getting the Cecil B.
DeMille Award.
Samuel L Jackson.
Or Morgan Freeman.
I've had Samuel L Jackson on the brain
all week.
It's got that stat you read earlier.
I'm sure you have that and some
some things of some discussions
I've had with other people.
Morgan Freeman.
I apologize, Mr. Freeman.
I still think they should have done this
at the end of the show.
Because when you're presented in a war
by the great Sydney Poitier
and then Helen Mirren follows that,
it's not fair to anybody afterwards.
Yeah, but anything that happens after
that point doesn't matter.
They do something similar to that.
Wouldn't it the Irvin
Thalberg Award during the Oscars?
It doesn't like that.
That's not something that they ever saved.
You know, the best picture is always
going to get the last award.
Yeah, it was nearly as cool as that.
No, modern family wins again.
So Sophia Bergara
again steals the show.
See, I've heard her.
I've seen her.
It's been a long day.
It's been a long week.
You look like you're wiped out when I come in.
I've seen her in cities.
That is impressive.
I am starting to wonder.
Johnson's hit Harrington is in Game of Thrones.
I'm going to look.
I still got to get on that band.
Well, you should do.
Oh, yeah, he is.
Now that I see his picture,
that dude is in Game of Thrones.
He was also in Silent Hill Revelation 3D.
That's in post production.
He was John Snow in Game of Thrones.
Well, I'm making another Silent Hill, okay.
Because they've already released a trailer
for the next resident evil.
That hit this week.
Yes, but I've seen
Sofia Bergara in civilian clothes.
And I'm just wondering how made up she truly is.
She still put together pretty well.
The woman's woman's what, like 40 plus.
I maybe look at her.
She looks, she looks great.
But I just, I love that little,
that,
that exchange they had on the microphone
when she was speaking in Spanish.
And you knew what she was saying.
It's not what they said she was saying.
He threw her under the bus about 15 times to her.
That accepted speed.
No, she's only one year older than me.
Oh, really?
I thought she was in her 40s.
She was July 10th, 1972.
And that would be you in your 40s, sir.
She turns 40 this year.
So she turns 40 this year, as one of saying.
Okay, her profile picture on IMDB is a great picture of her.
Moving on.
But remember,
probably outside of the Golden Globes,
Ricky Gervais, a lot more tame.
I thought he was funny.
You know, we was drunk.
Yes.
Because to me, and I said this to you when we talked about this,
I live tweeted this a day later,
because I didn't get to watch it till Monday.
And I had fun doing that.
We're going to do that again soon.
I'm sure.
This thing seems more like my high school band banquet
than an awards ceremony.
I've got a better idea for your host next year
if they don't bring Gervais back.
Me, let me do it now.
I'm available now.
Ferguson.
I'm available.
Anything, quick versions.
I'm involved.
I'm good.
He's on the dead gum network anyway.
Right?
Give them a minute.
Throw the men a bone.
Give them a solid.
And the guy is entertaining is all get out.
You'd have to tell him he has to limit his mind
like the five minutes of this.
You know, he'd take the whole two hours.
Can you imagine throwing it to Jeff or the robot?
Take this Golden Globes.
In your pants.
I don't need you so long.
Take this Golden Globe what?
In your pants.
There you go.
Hey, I get the echo effect for a change.
I was inspired.
What kind of stuff?
But I mean, not a bad show.
Just not a great show in my opinion.
Moving new releases coming to a theater near you next Friday.
We're watching a commercial for right now on ESPN news.
Liam Neeson in the gray.
And very interesting the way they're marketing this thing.
The one the the ad that they showed earlier.
Like they actually had a hashtag in front of the gray.
And all the cast members had their at Twitter logos and stuff.
Uh-huh.
So you could follow them.
And I was like, that's pretty good marketing.
All the stars of the film.
Yes.
Had their face their Facebook or Twitter handles as their as their credits.
I'm like, okay.
It is the year of our Lord 2012.
Also this week a movie that's been I've seen trailers for it for this a lot.
For probably about six months.
A movie called Man on a Ledge.
Basically the bit here as far as I can gather is there's a dude on the
ledge of a building.
And of course all the cops and everything show up.
But the point is he has to take his life or this other guy is going to take his
wife's or something kind of wheels off.
What I've gathered from it it's uh what's his name?
Sam Worthington from Avatar fame.
Oh, and the very hot Elizabeth Banks is in this.
Uh, and he's been accused by Ed Harris of stealing a diamond from him or something.
As a police psychologist works to talk down an ex-con who is certainly to jump from a moat.
My man hadn't hotel rooftop.
The biggest heist ever committed is in motion.
Yeah.
So apparently I guess maybe he's put the wheels in motion to get this done.
And Ed Harris does not like it.
Well, Ed Harris has actually been the one that stole in the diamond and he's
accusing Sam Worthington of being the thief.
I think as well.
Oh, okay.
So he stole it from somebody who stole it from somebody else.
Right.
Okay.
Right.
He's like Jamie Bells in this.
Ed Burns is in this.
A guy by the name of Johnny Solo.
I'm leaving that one.
Well, it's him cop rock.
Oh, it's just God.
And now Johnny Solo.
Also this week, a movie that a lot of people have been talking about called
a song you're hearing the background right now saying the same title.
One for the money.
Now what is this about?
I know nothing about this.
I know it's not the movie from 2003 with Al Pacino and
what's his name?
Which is probably okay.
All right, I'll write, I'll write.
Oh, what kind of hate?
Oh, God.
Remember that was about that.
I remember seeing a trailer for this.
This has
Catherine Haigel who will talk about a little bit later.
Jason Amara, Daniel, Suniata.
I think that's how you say it.
John Lake was Zamos in this.
Sherry Sheffords, Debbie Reynolds.
Debbie Reynolds.
Fisher Stevens, the ex-
the ex-
Mr. Michelle Feynman.
Annie Parisi.
Unemployed, a new week divorced Stephanie Plum.
Lands a job at her cousin's bail bond business where her first assignment
puts her on the trail of a wanted local cop from her romantic past.
Wow.
I think I just threw up in my mouth.
I can't wait not to see that.
Brandon's here.
Hello, sir.
You know what I mean?
You know what I mean?
You know what I mean?
You know what I mean?
You know what I mean?
So there's that.
Oh, yeah.
And the Haigel's a brunette in this.
One for the money.
I think I've seen her play a brunette at least once or twice in a while.
I think she looks better as a brunette.
Some of her vocal choices.
Vocal choices.
Like some of the things she said has kind of ruined me with her.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, she's she's said some very idiotic.
She is married to pop singer Josh Kelly.
She directed his latest video.
Who the heck is Josh Kelly?
All right, I can pull something out.
No, I do have some of his stuff.
True story.
Why have I never heard of it?
Oh, no, that's right.
I don't listen to radio anymore.
No, this guy's been around for a minute.
I mean, he's not a brand news.
He's not Taylor Swift or anything.
Well, if he's been around for a minute, I haven't.
I haven't listened to radio in a minute.
I don't know.
Apparently he wrote Lady Annabelle.
I'm just need you now.
Oh, really?
Because that's where I'm typing his name.
It came up.
So let me play you a song.
It's called amazing.
It was probably his biggest hit right here.
Just got a message from Kelly Heinz.
She probably won't be until either clock.
She's stuck somewhere.
Okay.
No, this isn't ringing any bells.
I like this song a lot.
Baby, you're amazing.
Good song.
This is her.
This is Kevin Heigel's husband.
And the first major Daniel Radcliffe vehicle,
post Harry Potter.
The woman in black hits
your local movie house next weekend.
What do you think?
What kind of businesses this movie do?
Just because his name's attached to.
But see, isn't this rated R?
So.
You got to remember,
you know, if you started watching Harry Potter films
when you were eight years old,
you are now 18.
No, this is PG-13.
Okay.
95 minutes.
A young lawyer travels to a remote village
where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman
is terrorizing the locals.
Looks like the ring made over.
And done in like the 17th century.
You know me.
I'm out on the phone genre.
You're not a fan of the creepy stuff.
Tomorrow night at nine Eastern,
Oprah interviews George Lucas.
It's Guy Walker Ranch.
Yes.
I did see something about that.
Sometimes banner ads are good for something.
But it's on her network, I mean.
So it's on own.
Yeah.
She is getting killed and she's in my DVD
and Blu-ray new releases is coming week.
A movie that will not go away.
I've got a feeling we're going to have to watch this.
I think so.
I think so.
Hugh Jackman and Rockham Sockham robots the movie.
Known as real steel.
I'm still waiting for him to make a hunger hunger hippos movie.
And this next one I'm in on by the way.
I am too.
We're talking Seth Rogan and Josh.
Josh with Gordon Levin.
Is that how you say so?
Joseph Gordon Levin.
Fifty-fifty.
This is actually based on a true story
that's about Seth Rogan's best friend.
And was all over the Golden Globes this year.
And Levin got nominated and the film got nominated.
I would love to see this getting nominated for an Oscar.
I would love to see a Seth Rogan written film
getting nominated for an Oscar.
As would I.
That would be awesome.
Also, a movie that apparently
a franchise, another franchise that's never going to go away.
Paranormal Activity 3 hits DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday.
A trick will tail, unfortunately.
Yeah.
Then there's this.
I knew this was coming.
But tell me this doesn't at least intrigue you.
Oh, absolutely.
It especially given the words that come after
the title.
Yeah.
The 1954 version of Godzilla.
Which are like, why would you mention that, dude?
Because.
Because this is being done via a little vehicle.
I like to call the criteria in collection.
So if you're at DVD extras or Blu-ray extras junky,
your ship just came in if you're a Godzilla fan.
Which means it will be remastered in high definition.
I think it's still going to be in mono, though.
I don't think they could get the audio done right.
But it's also going to come with an HD restoration
of Godzilla, King of the Monsters.
The version, the remake of it, they did with Raymond Burke.
Uh-huh.
Wayna-ba.
There's a great pop and top bit about that.
When Frank Kelly and I was doing this best Raymond Burke, it's...
Oh, no!
Congratulations.
That's not the millionth time we've done that job.
We should have that play in the back.
Now I'm off to complete the off.
The wheels are now off.
But that is your DVD and Blu-ray new release selections for this week.

You can follow me on Twitter if you did on Monday.
You got to see my live tweeting a day late of the Golden Globes.
Yes, that robberman.
And I am at chat in PG-6-9.
And there's nobody else here.
But you can follow Kelly Hines.
TW for Tulsa World.
She'll be on with us in just a little while.
She is a friend of the show.
We haven't had her on her in a very long time.
I'm looking forward to speaking with her.
And having her opinions on some of these things.
Let us go on and talk just a little bit of fighting.
A little bit, not much.
There was actually a UFC on FX last night.
I completely missed it.
Oh, wow.
But next Saturday, we do have a UFC on Fox.
Oh, good.
So that'll be next Saturday night.
I'll apparently allegedly, this is so funny to me.
Somebody paid a lot of roaming charges this week.
As Floyd Mayweather calls Manny Pacquiao in the Philippines
to talk, fight.
I think somebody's panicking.
He pretty much called him out.
Pardon me, I had a sip of my tasty beverage there.
Right now, and I need somebody to explain this to me in a way
that's going to make me understand it properly.
Who in their right mind believes that Floyd Mayweather needs to get a 70-30 split of this fight
if it happens?
He's like, he tells Manny that 50-50 ain't going to happen.
But Manny will make more money off this fight
than he'll ever make in his entire life.
That Manny will make more off this fight
than Floyd will make in his entire life.
No, that Manny will make in his career.
Oh, Manny will make more off this fight
than Manny has made in his entire life.
Getting 30 percent.
Yes.
Last I heard, they were both going to get 60 million off this fight.
So,
so has Floyd come back from the future
and he's already had his bell run by Pacquiao
and he's just that goofed in the head?
I don't know.
But my thing is,
honeys on this guy.
Jeez.
It's just an exercise of frustration with this fight.
I'll tell you what.
Freddie Roach was on PCI the other day.
And by the way, did you remember,
oh, you don't have to eat speed up?
No, I don't.
I did DVR the first episode of On Roach last time.
I saw him and you were going through the video.
I thought you were going to watch it.
I can't watch to watch this thing.
Wait to watch this thing.
Okay, watch the way this thing.
And then you do realize that your job does just drug test
when you say Floyd would beat him.
And they they asked him straight up about
after the one Manuel Marquez fight,
are you concerned now that there may be flaws
that have been exposed for Pacquiao?
And Freddie Roach said straight up, he goes,
look, we know that Floyd's the kind of fighter
a counter-puncher that gives many fits.
What do you think we're working on?
This will be the fight to end all fights.
And this is this is the fight of the century.
Yeah.
Now as early in the century as it is.
And Freddie also said they have agreed to the to the blood testing
that a lot of it now is just Floyd not wanting to give in on the money.
Yeah.
And they said it's not going to happen made the fifth.
We're not that's not giving us enough time to prepare.
You want to fight in June.
Oh, I'm sorry, you'll be in prison.
You want to fight in November?
We're good with that.
Because we need to have time to not only train properly,
but we need to have time to promote this fight.
But first of all, do you really need to promote?
You could know this fight the day before.
And the paper review by Ray would be through the route.
I mean, I would love it if Pacquiao would just say,
you know what, Floyd, okay.
All right, all right, I will fight you for free.
I just want you to show up so I can beat your behind up the block
and back down.
Well, see, now, now,
Brandon think he would beat him in a decision.
See, I think that Floyd would get into the deep rounds
and he would get cocky with it and think he's won the fight.
And I think that's where he would lose it.
I think if you're Floyd money may weather,
you have to knock out Manipack yet.
Now, or does it put himself out by the, by the middle of the fight
and have no gas left?
He might, and then he just runs it back pedals throughout the entire.
My, my thing is, I think if, if Mani can make, take him the distance,
I think, I think Mani can win on decision.
I think if Mayweather is going to win this fight,
he has to knock Mani out.
Yeah.
And I don't think that's going to happen.
Now, do I think Mani can knock Floyd out?
Abs of freaking loot.
Uh-huh.
Because the thing about Manipack,
you know, is don't blink or he's hit you 17 times.
That's the, that's, that's Floyd's biggest speed of Manipack,
yeah, it's so brutal.
And, and Freddie also said straight up,
because they asked him about MMA,
because you know, he did treat, he did train, uh,
George Rush St. Pierre, yes, on, on his standup game.
And he said, MMA is such a big deal right now.
He goes, the problem we have is,
America needs a new heavyweight,
all the heavyweights we have are from overseas,
and they never fight.
We need a good new American heavyweight.
Brandon, you and I are going to have to agree to disagree.
He says Floyd wins,
and then wins fights in the late rounds.
He does, but not this one, not this one, not this one.
And really, what's going to have to happen
is this fight's going to happen.
Yeah, and yeah, yeah, he wins fights in the,
in the late rounds when he's fighting a bunch of tomato cans.
And the only, the, and put the beauty of this thing is,
this thing,
the only way we're going to get this solved is this thing,
when this thing happens.
Yeah, I just lost my train of thought there.
Floyd 173, I can even look at that on paper in that last.
That's what he wants.
Eric is a little punk.
God, I want to see him lose so badly.
And Brandon says he has fought all the fighters that Pacquiao has,
but the problem is that he's fighting him past their prime.
That's my thing with this.
And that's my thing that, that's drives me nuts about Mayweather.
You can put your resume out there,
but fight somebody that's in their prime.
No, he won't do that.
I mean, we'll see.
I mean, this is,
if you, if you live in Vegas and you work in Vegas,
get ready.
And see, that's the other thing that's been a problem.
Is Ready Roach said we want to have this thing in cowboy stadium.
He only wants to fight in Vegas.
You don't have a license to fight in Nevada right now.
You're more on.
I'd hate to see that be the thing that stops it.
I think they'll grant him a license after he gets out of jail.
I think that's what it's going to be.
Floyd's just going to throw so many.
Well, I'm trying to get it done, but he don't want to agree to my terms.
This ain't about you, Floyd.
I will knock you clean out for that.
Let's do a little TV talk.
This is the closest I can get for this first story.
Oh, that's the wrong one, hold on.
Somehow, I don't need to understand the difference between a karaoke version of a song
and a normal version.
You know what would have worked?
Stables theme.
Yeah, good point.
For fans of Cougar Town,
people that don't know.
Brandon does make an excellent point.
He did fight Ricky Hatton before Pacquiao did.
And he also dominated Marquez.
But Pacquiao dominated Marquez the first time.
Yeah.
I mean, it's right now that is the debate in sports, really, to me.
Is this subject?
I mean, you've got stuff going on the NBA, whatever.
Right now, this discussion is the biggest debate in sports, not a period.
Because if you are a fans of Cougar Town, which means you are a lady
in the 41 to 55 bracket,
it will return on Valentine's Day for season three.
So if you are a fan of the Courtney Cox, our cat, not our cat anymore,
or the chick from that played the friend on Terminator, Sarah Connor Chronicles,
there's that, which, which I'm not.
So we are equal opportunity on this show, Sarah.
I've just got nothing to add.
So there's that ABC congratulations on that.
Well, when we kind of know why, we talked about last week,
Vinnie from the Jersey Shore is going to release a book called
Controlling the Crazy.
My plan to stop stressing avoid drama and maintain your inner cool.
Why do we can't show is the vein of my existence.
You know, this show was why the rest of the world hates us.
You know, I've been kind of taken to task this week.
It's this is kind of a movie news thing, but I've had to.
Don't tell me you've watched this show.
No, no, no, but I have watched the free studio just trailer.
So you did.
Yes.
Because that's been kind of I am, I am interested in what you're about to say, sir.
Well, considering what we're talking about here and the last thing you see in that trailer.
Go ahead and tell me because I haven't seen the trailer.
You haven't seen the trailer?
I refuse.
Mo, I pokes, snooki.
That's what we're dealing with here.
Yeah, they're doing the, that's right, because we did read in the, in the deal.
That J. Wows in it too.
They used her real name, which was weird.
Oh, I've seen that in the trailer, but the shot with what's your name coming up out of the pool
and the, and the, and the, and the, and the nuns habit in the bikini.
What's her name?
Uh, uh, up to get up to get up to get up to.
I'm a, you're, you're a lovely wife who is a British descent.
So they did a copy off show in the, you can't call the Jordy Shore.
Yes.
Yes, they did.
They did.
It doesn't make me feel any better.
No.
I mean, we, we saw the ads board and she's like, oh, dear god.
But this thing is, it's, it's, it's, every, every time we turn around,
we're having to deal with one of these Jersey Shore meatheads.
I just, I just want them to go.
Well, apparently he walked out of the house on the Jersey Shore after an anxiety attack.
So the anxiety thing is, the controlling the grazing thing is real.
I just don't know that I need Vinny from the Jersey Shore to tell me how to deal with anxiety.
Now, no, I don't, I don't need Vinny from the Jersey Shore.
Teaching me how to drink coffee out of a mug.
Much less tell how to control my anxiety.
Get off my TV.
Please do.
This next story makes me kind of giggle.
I'm going to be honest.
He's going to make a lot of people kind of giggle.
Apparently, there are rumors out there that Catherine Highgo wants to make a return to
Grace Anatomy.
Now, there are two different stories right now.
One of them, excuse me for one moment.
I did not want to belch at our listeners years.
One is, one, one camp is just saying it's just for a guest spot.
Other camps are saying no, she wants to come back to the show.
I thought she was dead.
I thought they killed her character off.
You're talking to the wrong member of my marriage in this particular case.
If I remember correctly, her character died.
If any of our listeners that are listening live, watch Grace Anatomy.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm not sure.
I thought they killed her character off.
I guess I could make her ghost.
I know I do know that wasn't she, it wasn't her character battling cancer.
I think so.
It's like she fell in love with a guy that wound up playing the comedian and the watchman.
That was like one of the first things I saw him in.
Was the big dramatic death scene that he had that she had really fallen really hard for him.
And then next thing you know, she's she's dying of some incurable disease.
And if we remember, she ran her yap about the writers of that shit.
Big time.
So good luck with all that sister.
Yeah.
I'm sorry you couldn't make 27 dresses too.
And you couldn't make 27 cents at the box office.
You heard.
But you know, she's in one for the money.
And that could make you know, a buck about 50.
I know.
Shut up.
You want to kick something.
Let us move on and say congratulations to the ultimate geek sitcom that I've never
watched an episode of.
I have.
And I will not make it.
My wife has started watching the show.
Congratulations to the big bang theory.
They have reached 100 episodes.
So they are now eligible for syndicate?
They're already in syndication, sir.
They have been for almost a year.
I thought they had to reach 100 episodes.
That's the normal benchmark.
But no, this is things been syndicated for a while now.
That looks good.
And it's also got the blossom in it.
And then Johnny got lucky.
I sat there in episode of this.
It was.
It's one of those things where the majority of the dude that plays Sheldon annoys you.
Everybody on that show has something about him that just annoys the crowd out of me.
But he's the main thing.
He's the main thing that just he's just so irritating.
But see, to me, that's, see, John loves the show.
I think it's just him doing this job.
It was like why Jericho annoyed you for so long.
It's because he's doing his job.
I don't know, but you know, if anyone in the Emmy this year,
that keeps you from watching the show.
I think you're doing your job a little too well.
I mean, I've watched bits and pieces of this show.
And it's got the geek culture thing, which makes me happy.
Because remember, we are geeks.
We are not nerds. Geeks are nerds with social skill.
Right.
It's the difference.
But you know, it's one of CBS's big shows right now.
Speaking of which, and I was speaking of CBS,
and I kind of want to go off the page on you,
because I forgot to ask you about this.
Have you seen the details on Survivor One World?
Very little.
I was like the day after.
Here's what I've gathered.
Because they've revealed a bunch of details this week on the new Survivor.
Okay, no, I don't know any of this.
It's going to premiere the day after Valentine's Day, February the 15th.
Okay.
It's called One World.
And the reason it's called One World is it will be men versus women again.
But they're all going to live in one camp.
So there is no tribal division from the get-go-go.
Well, there are two tribes, but they live in the same camp.
Here's the kind of genius thing for me.
You know how in the past, they've done some challenges where
there's really the challenge they just bring a bunch of stuff to the camp
and they have to make something out of it.
Yeah.
They're going to do more of that.
Here's the other thing.
There will be no redemption island.
Good.
There will be no redemption.
You're gone.
You're gone.
Good.
There will be hidden immunity islands, but here's the thing.
If you find it, you have to give it to a member of the other tribe.
Did why bother finding it?
Strategy.
And they're not saying they have to have separate dwellings.
They're not saying they have to be separate.
They are two tribes, but if they want to live together, they're more than welcome to.
And they've got a first this year on Survivor One World.
And the only way I'll put this to you is that Adam Kennedy is going to be a very, very,
very happy man, given the station in life of one of the cast members of Survivor One World.
So we have a bunny, a bunny ranch attendee at this time.
Oh no.
Oh no.
A person of Peter Dinklage's stature will be a cast member on Survivor One World.
First time ever.
And two guys that are apparently obsessed with Tarzan for some reason.
I read this.
I'm in.
I'm glad that they're finally going to do something different with this show.
Yeah, it needed a big shake up.
And real quick, Mattel has bailed on Kardashian themed Barbie dolls,
which follows the cancellation of a proposed Kardashian-based magazine.
Good.
Screw you, Kardashians.
Perfect timing on this, but that's exactly that's why I did that.
You are listening to the clubhouse.
We are live every Saturday night, eight on the East Coast five on the West Coast.
We will be joined any moment by Kelly Hines from the Tulsa World.
She is a sports reporter.
She is a fashionista.
She actually had one of her tweets on an electronic billboard in Oklahoma City.
Really?
She tweeted something and she, like five minutes later, she's like,
so this happened.
And I pulled it up and it was her tweet on one of those electronic billboards.
How did she pull that off?
I don't know how it happened.
I think because she's a member of the paper, it just kind of filtered through something.
Oh, okay.
Let's talk a little bit of NBA.
There's not much to talk about.
We finally have enough games gone by that we can give you some decent standings.
I mean, I just don't know what to talk about really when it comes to the NBA
because there's not much going on.
Now, in the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division standings,
Toronto bringing up the rear.
New Jersey for New Jersey for an 11.
Boston, New York, Philly, Philly.
The 76ers are in the lead right now.
You know how we know what kind of a lead they have?
New York, the New York knickerbockers are in second place.
They are five games behind Philly, right?
Wow, but it's the next, so.
But still, the 76ers really, they haven't been relevant since Iverson.
Congratulations, by the way, the Clint Dempsey becomes the first American with a
Premier League hat trick.
There you go, Joe.
You soccer fans.
Eastern Conference Central Division, Detroit.
Three and 13 right now for the pistons.
Milwaukee's above them.
Cleveland at six and eight.
Well, the Indiana Pacers are two and a half games behind the Chicago Bulls right now
who are 14 and three and in the southeast division.
The Washington Wizards two and 13 teams bad,
but they're only a game worse than Charlotte.
Atlanta at 11 and five, Miami is in second,
but they are only a half a game behind Orlando,
which is about the norm for this time in the season.
In the Western Conference,
the Northwest Division,
Minnesota at seven and eight Portland is above them.
Utah in the middle of the pack.
What, what just got you?
Minnesota in the Northwest Division.
I said, I'm reading.
Uh, 10, 10 person, second place Oklahoma City 12 and 3.
Watch them.
I'm telling you, Oklahoma, also in the Northwest.
There in the Northwest Division.
Somebody needs to buy a map in the NBA.
In the Pacific Division,
golden state and dead last Sacramento above them,
the Phoenix is above them.
The Lakers and the Clippers are tied right now.
If the Clippers have the tiebreaker,
did you ever think you would say that sentence you just said?
See, a lot of people thought that the Clippers weren't going to be this good right away.
Duke upset again by the way in the basketball by four to state.
Then your Southwest Division.
New Orleans is three and 12.
The league owned New Orleans Hornets.
Houston above them.
Dallas, dead middle of the pack.
They are two games above 500 right now with a bending champions.
Memphis on top of them San Antonio,
who will never go.
It doesn't look like it.
Every time I think of San Antonio,
I think of that scene in coming to America.
The San Antonio Spurs, 147 years old.
Every year, we say San Antonio is old.
They can't do it again, they can't.
They keep getting it done somehow.
There's been in six right now.
There's six and four in their last 10.
I don't get it.
And we are a month from the halfway point.
That's what scares me even more.
We're going to go to wrestling talk.
We're going to hold on for just a minute and see if we get a phone call.
Because I'm going to wait on this next segment
until our guest calls in.
Okay, because she and I talked about this briefly.
She said she is kind of caught up on what's going on.
Yeah, so let's go ahead and do a little wrestling talk here for just a moment.
Where am I going?
I have lost my place.
Here we go.
We're going to go right here.
We're going to do a little wrestling talk for you right here on your one stop shop.
For all things wrestling pop culture and sports right here on the clubhouse.
Evan Bourne, congratulations.
You're now out 60 days.
Airborne has been grounded for his second wellness plan violation.
And you're a moron, Evan Bourne.
Let me ask you this.
Yes.
How many strikes do you get in the normal job for a drug test violation?
One, just making sure.
Just want to make sure that it wasn't, but it wasn't just me.
And now he's like, well, you know, sometimes people make bad choices.
Screw you, Evan Bourne.
You're not Marion Bear.
Yeah.
By the way, the anniversary his first bus was the other day.
Oh, was it?
Yeah, that's worth repeating.
Smoke crack, get your job back.
You can't work it.
You can't work at McDonald's and smoke crack, get your job back.
They won't trust you around the happy meals.
What a doofus.
We have more developments on the four horseman going in the WWE Hall of Fame.
On March the 30th.
March 31st.
38th, that's average.
Yeah.
From March 31st.
Ric Flair is saying he has been giving seven minutes of mic time.
Is that enough?
Well, it's his flair's second swim through the Hall of Fame.
So he's pretty much said everything wants to say.
No, Flair never says everything he wants to say.
When his best friends involved, he's going to make sure
just be prepared for another bloody mouth speech by Flair.
Yeah, the tongue will get chewed on, I'm sure.
Brandon, we're monitoring that situation right now.
They're not saying that officially yet.
The Joe paternal thing.
Oh, okay.
Well, they're saying this.
Okay, getting the wheels back on here for a minute.
Just kind of stopped up tonight.
On that front of the horseman going to the Hall of Fame.
Tully Blanchard in an interview the other day
said that the rumors are now that Triple H is going to put them in.
Well, that was his biggest influence.
I still think it needs to be dusty.
Yeah, I do too.
Nobody had a bigger view with the poor horseman than dusty roads, never, ever, ever.
And of course, we're going to it's going to be another month so we get your next inductee.
Anyway, yeah, whatever.
I'll take it down to go wire for some crazy reason, but I could see why H would want to.
Although, I'd hate to see him pull rank.
I did see H pull rank just to be the one to induct him into the Hall of Fame.
Yeah, I mean, again, it's to me and he's either be dusty or JR.
Yeah, that's the list to me.
I mean, I might give you steamboat, maybe.
I mean, since Dylan's going in with them, you know, you would think he'd be the one.
He should get the most airtime in my opinion.
I think so.
Him and Arne.
Let's talk a little bit about raw, shall we?
The less the better.
Okay.
We're having some, uh, some things we're getting straight now.
You are listening to a clubhouse live every Saturday night.
Eight on the East Coast five on the West Coast.
Make sure you visit our website, the clubhouse with robincoady.com.
You can get to our merchandise store from there.
That's one of the places you want to go.
You got to get you some swag, man.
T-shirts, hats, bags, stickers, license plate holders.
You name it.
I think you can get an iPad case on there with our logo on it.
Help us out.
We're trying to get the word out.
We're making 2012 a big year for the show.
We got a lot of things planned.
We want you to help us out.
Also, join us at Fox and Hound one week from tomorrow for the Royal Rumble.
Our show will be on the air at six o'clock central.
It's a $3 cover.
Get you in the door.
Let's talk a little bit of rock.
And a fact that, um,
Chad and I actually got to watch raw together this week because I was a holiday at work.
So,
God bless the bank holidays, yes?
Yes.
But I don't work at a bank, though.
No.
Here's the thing.
We were talking about Mick and Mick wants to be in the rumbo.
By some bureaucratic staff,
who let's just say Mick wins.
And Mick gets a belt.
Mick has never fought the undertaker at WrestleMania.
He's not part of the streak.
Yeah, whenever you brought that up.
That blew my mind.
Yeah, no kidding.
As long as they feud it,
as long as that mankind undertaker feud burned on.
I cannot believe they never had a wrestling that he wasn't a part of the streak.
And he wasn't.
You have a new US champ and his name is Jack Swagger moving on.
Little note to Colin and Waller.
Perez Hilton showed up.
I fast-forwarded his bit.
Worst oversell.
Flop I've ever seen.
From Adiva delivering it.
They kept calling him.
Paris Hilton.
I guess, is he trying to go to this
pronunciation?
So it sounds like Paris Hilton?
Probably.
Your name's Perez Holmes.
Deal with it.
And you're a flake.
You've always been a flake.
He's lost a lot of weight, though.
I noticed that.
Like, he used to be a big dude.
He was skinny.
Yeah.
Oh, wrong.
I didn't realize it was him.
I didn't even recognize him.
And I did realize something.
I just, I have to play this over.
Oh, no.
I have to play this.
I have to play this.
Somebody about to call my mama.
Oh, I can't.
I can't.
I can't hear this.
It's not laugh.
But what I've realized.
I get mesmerized by this song and I don't know why.
The Lotus Clay makes me long for the days of Ernest the Cat Miller.
He, I don't, I'm the greatest.
If he didn't look so much like heavy D,
it wouldn't make me so sad or king hippo.
It's like, let me tell you something, my friend.
There's going to be something we're going to talk about in SmackDown talking.
Then we get there.
What you saw on Monday night.
Oh, no.
Oh, geez.
Oh, no.
I almost rewound SmackDown and set it there.
So when you got there, you can see this.
But I think I need to describe it to you.
So it will have more impact.
So people on air will hear for the first time what happened
through your, through your, through your inflection.
Speaking of impact.
Think of impact.
Yes.
We, I believe we call that a segue.
I just want to hear this for a minute.
But you kill this thing.
Fuck is on the road.
Fuck the sore.
And in fact, he does a little dinosaur clause thing.
It just makes me laugh.
Okay, I'll get you out there.
We'll go to impact.
Congratulations to James Storm.
His real name is James Cox.
Has a brand new son named Mason James.
Congratulations to him.
He says impact wrestling now has a new member of the roster.
And they'll put the belt on him in a month.
Yeah.
Boy, this is a bad show.
I cannot get over how bad this show.
It's a bad promotion.
Here's a random fact for you.
Yeah.
Impact pretty much consistently gets about a one, two, a one,
uh, rating, right?
Yeah.
Smackdown gets double that every week.
Let that sit.
God.
As bad a Smackdown is.
Smackdown is almost doubling your ratings.
Impact.
Apparently, uh, Brutus B picked an interview this week
where they asked him because, you know, he's close with Hogan.
Yes.
And they asked him about the whole impact thing.
And
his reaction wasn't pretty.
Like he was going, well, they're just happy being where they are.
And so Hogan's just kind of resigned to it.
I'm like, they were better before you.
That show was better.
That show was better before Hogan and Bishoff.
And then it really truly became the train wrecked television that it is now.
Here's a question.
I know this is beating a dead horse and I promise myself I would not do this.
This whole sting going depends thing.
I promise myself I wouldn't do this.
But why can't we let sting do the same thing on on raw that he's doing right now on impact?
He's basically being the GM anyway.
Yeah.
And it's funny sting.
It's not creepy sting.
It's not crazy sting.
It's funny sting.
So I don't understand you don't want to travel.
But if you're the GM, you're only going to be at televised events.
Your GM's not going to show up at house shows.
Nobody cares.
But he still have to travel to the televised events and he doesn't want to do that.
For one day, maybe two a week for a paper.
Hey, you're preaching to the choir here.
You need to talk to him about this.
Somebody get me Steve Borden on the line.
I want an hour with sting.
Because it's going to take me 10 minutes to not beat Chris Farley.
You remember when you fought Rick Flair?
That was awesome.
But once I get past that and maybe I'm from the banner.
But I want to make a Steve really.
What has to happen?
What phone calls do I need to make?
Well, but unfortunately we've missed our window.
We really have missed our window.
But to get him as an on-air personality.
Because remember, that's all Flair was going to be when he signed after the WCW emergency.
He was just going to be on camera person.
Of course he ended up getting in the ringweight.
Well, okay, since we can't get our dream match up with Sean,
is there anybody else?
Takeer!
Sting and takeer.
Yes!
That was the original plan.
He was going to break the streak last year at WrestleMania.
Personally, I'd like to see either Sting Z on Punk.
Punk with Russell.
He would...
Sting can't keep up.
I know.
Or more realistically, Sting Jericho.
Maybe.
I think Jericho's CM punks what you're going with.
I mean, would we rather have Sting Sean?
Of course.
If we could get Sting Edge, yeah, but that ain't going to happen either.
But I think we're just going to be content with whatever scraps we can get if it ever happens.
And it probably never will.
So, just making it to Austin Aries.
I'm sorry, remember to Daniel Bryan, I apologize.
Watch Impact.
Because Austin Aries is the heel you need to be.
It's a sad day when I'm telling someone on the WWE roster to watch Impact.
But Austin Aries is the heel that Daniel Bryan needs to be.
Austin Aries is probably one of the best heels of this generation of kids.
And Daniel Bryan is the most...
is on the most unconvincing heel turn.
He's trying so hard though. God bless him.
Yeah.
God bless your little heart.
It's like watching Evan Bourne trying to be a heel.
I'm super not excited to see you.
That's exactly.
You took it out of my mouth.
And we have the return of one half of the Motor City machine guns in that same segment.
As Alex Shelley returns.
Alex Shelley needs to get a haircut, but other than that,
always going to see him or Chris Sabin, both great wrestlers.
Look forward to seeing them.
The rumor is right now that next week on SmackDown...
Randy Orton will return with this music?
No, I don't know.
But I just got stuck in here and the other one.
I don't want to go through with over a change.
This is awful quick for a neck injury, isn't it?
Yeah, it is.
Unless it just wasn't as bad as we were originally led to believe.
I don't know.
I was told he'd been dealing with it for a month.
How long has he been out now?
How long has it been?
It was the night before New Year's Eve because it was the last SmackDown of the year.
Okay, so it's been three weeks.
I'm not sure just going to bring him back because the way they wrote him out is
Wade Barrett threw him down a fight of stairs.
Yeah.
Listen, just going to second, you know,
smeltly segue him back into the ring.
Isn't there such a thing with Randy Orton?
I mean, he's coming back to SmackDown, but maybe he's not coming back into the ring yet.
He's well enough to appear on television, just not well enough to see.
There's a taunt Wade Barrett for a few.
We possibly, yeah.
I prefer this thing for him.
Oh, I do too.
I'm so sick of the higher voices in my head thing.
Are we cast that version of this character?
We are going to talk one thing about SmackDown.
There's only one thing to talk about.
Get to this.
She's again with this.
We were in Vegas.
Of course, we're doing the raw roulette thing or the SmackDown roulette thing.
I get you to call it.
And the lovely and talented Lillian Garcia
announces a dance off.
So, of course, this is the first music you hear.
The Funkasaurus.
And now he's labeled as the only known Funkasaurus in captivity.
That's what we're going.
So, he, of course, he gets in the ring ready to do his thing.
And that's who his opponent is for a dance off.
Orange logo.
Nope.
Vicki Guerrero.
Speaking of King Hippo.
Queen Hippo.
So, she gets in and says,
she said,
I am your dance off opponent and I'm going to win.
So, hit my music.
And she actually used the word fashizzle
because everybody knows the actual correct use of that phrase is
that God is for Rizzle.
That's me.
That's me beating my head on the microphone.
Your head sounds awful hollow.
No, it's a microphone song.
So, she starts dancing and basically all she's doing
is the Elaine Benis from, from, uh,
signed up.
Of course.
Okay, hold on, one second, we have a phone call.
Do you have us?
Uh-oh.
Uh-oh.
Did I do something wrong here?
Ah, that's not the right one.
No.
Can we, can you hear me?
Yes.
There we go.
There we are.
We have our special guests who has joined us live.
You know where you'll ever, you can't live without her.
Especially if you are a fan of the Tulsa World
as all of you should be.
She is Kelly Hines.
It has been way too long since you've been on the show, my friend.
Oh, it definitely has been.
We were just actually wrapping up wrestling talk
as we were holding off person of interest until you called.
So,
we were just wrapping up wrestling talk as we were holding off
what you and I talked about yesterday.
We were holding on to that until you got on air.
But let me just wrap this up.
I'm going to wrap this up real quick.
So, Vicki's in the ring and starts dancing like
Elaine Bennett's from Seinfeld.
Right.
Which, that was funny enough.
We get her out of the ring.
And who comes for the comedy save?
Steven Riegel.
Oh, no.
He refers to her.
You should not be making fun of this.
He called her a Bucksome Winch.
And you know the one thing I wait for when it's Steven Riegel.
The one thing I wait for.
Sunshine.
Brodus called him that.
No, he did not.
My hand to God.
He goes,
get back in the ring sunshine because you need to dance too.
Tell me you didn't erase this offer.
I did.
But you'll be able to see it online.
Just, that's the only segment of Smackdown that was worth it.
Called him.
He did call him sunshine.
Oh, jeez.
And it was like it went over the whole crowd.
Of course, I'm on the floor laughing.
What you did?
And he called him sunshine.
Genius.
Okay.
Ab salute.
Genius.
I have to backtrack just a little bit here and find out where we're at.
There we go.
Let us move on.
You are listening to the clubhouse.
We are live every Saturday night at eight o'clock.
We are joined by our good friend and the only person I know
who's ever had a tweet on a billboard.
Kelly Hines is with us.
You did keep that picture didn't you?
Oh, Kelly.
Yeah, it's pretty here.
I'm sorry.
Oh, I'm sorry.
You can't let me let me turn this up.
Is that better for you?
Yes.
Well, that's over there.
There we go.
Do you still have that picture of the tweet that you had put on the billboard that day?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, and I got a second one up there too.
I've had two on the billboard now.
No, see, that's like ultimate.
Like I can't even measure that kind of thing compared to me.
I'm a spare with an internet radio show.
She's on billboards across America.
I can't beat that.
She has credibility.
We cannot touch with a 10-foot pole.
Yeah.
And she like, she like moves us from like negative credibility to like breaking even.
Like she brings that much credibility to the show.
We won't we'll never be on the other side of the of the mountain.
But dog on it, we're going to get to break even at some point after 18 months on this show.
We're above magma level now.
By the way, Kelly, you're hearing across the desk from me.
That's Chad.
You two have not met, so nice to meet you, Kelly.
Hi, nice to meet you.
We are about to talk about something
that is actually kind of close, I think, to everybody involved in this conversation right now.
We're going to go to a segment on this show we like to call person of interest.
And what person of interest is, is we take a person or an entity
that we want to discuss their greatness or lack thereof.
So Rob hit the music.
There he is.
We're going to talk about something today.
That could actually change the very existence of this show as you know it.
Change the existence of a lot of things as we know it.
It is known as the Stop Online Piracy Act or SOPA.
There's also a second bill called the Personal Intellectual Property Act.
Protect Intellectual Property Act.
Is that right?
Is that what PIPA is?
Protect Intellectual Property?
I thought it was in reference to the IP addresses.
No, Intellectual Property is the IP.
Basically, if this thing passes, there's two sides to this call.
And Chad and I had an extended conversation about this the other night in the following.
And Kelly and I talked about it a little bit.
Because I was going from one meeting to another and I wanted to make sure I touched
base with her before we had her on the show.
I understand from the aspect of there's a lot of people doing a lot of things that aren't
quite within the law, right?
I'll roll with that.
But the details of SOPA and PIPA and please do your research so you can have a
form of opinion on this to all of our listeners because this is kind of a big deal.
There are full websites already.
Mega uploads been shut down.
Of course, you know the Pirate Bay is in the crosshairs of this thing.
This is a government act that basically will
can shut down websites that feature copyrighted material
or basically what they consider to be illegal downloading.
Right. Now that being said, the details of this act are so broad
that there is so much gray area.
Justin Bieber would be in jail right now.
Yeah.
Let's be honest.
Right now because he started his career singing us your songs on YouTube.
And right now we are breaking the law.
Absolutely.
Breaking the law.
Breaking the law.
Breaking the law.
Breaking the law.
Oh, speaking of which, I think it's to be just sidetracked for just a minute.
Kelly, I don't know if you've seen this and if you haven't looked this up,
somebody did
if Beavis and Butthead were real people,
he made busts of them 3D busts as if they were actually not animated
if they were real people.
Uh-huh.
And it's creepy.
Oh, wow.
I'm sure it is.
I mean, and it's dead on though.
It's absolutely dead on.
Is it like that stewie that I showed you several months back?
Creepier.
Creepier than that.
Creepier.
It's pretty, it's a four-one one's got it.
It's pretty, it's actually pretty cool.
The Beavis, you're just like,
ooooh.
Okay, moving on.
But basically, here's my thing.
This show, music is very heavily featured on this show.
Whenever we talk about a certain subject,
there is a music bed in the background of it.
And Kelly, I don't think you can hear the music in the background, correct?
That's right.
Okay, because the way I've got the board set up,
if she could hear the music then it would feed back on it, yeah.
But right now we're playing the Peter Gun theme in the background
for this person of interest.
That's what we do every week.
Being a copyrighted song,
by technical definition in Soba and Pippa, we could be shut down.
Yeah.
The man could show up right now at my door,
and I'm a felon.
Yeah.
Not to be confused with your ramellon,
because that's in back to school.
But,
this thing, there was, I don't know if you saw this the other day,
but there was a petition online.
A lot of the websites, Google,
Pirate Bay, a bunch of websites,
actually blacked out.
Yeah, Wikipedia was one of the big.
Wikipedia also.
It's, there was a petition online, I lost my train of thought.
There was a petition online that had over three million signatures on it.
Now, in the last 48 hours,
we are now into double digits of people in Congress
that have reversed their position on this.
At one point, GoDaddy had on their page
that they supported it and lost thousands of clients.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, weeks ago, that happened.
It was a couple of, it was two weeks ago.
Yeah.
As long as I had come here, just a few weeks back.
And it's like, it was like this mass exodus
on GoDaddy of people leaving them, dropping them like some thing
that came out today,
which I found to be very interesting.
Somebody did a study on websites that are
supporting SOPA.
WWE came up on a list.
That blew my mind when you told me that.
Which is odd.
Now, Kelly, someone, you are, you are an esteemed member of the press.
You also work in an environment where you do a lot of online work too
for the paper if I'm not mistaken.
That's right.
What is your position on this and can you give us some insight that maybe we don't have?
I don't know, I can give you any more insight and this stuff that everyone's been talking about,
but it just seems like one of those things where there's an issue
and online piracy is a problem.
I think everyone will admit that.
But then they try to come up with the solution without even thinking it through.
And then you just have to wonder if like Wikipedia and all these people had it
spoken out against it.
Would this have happened?
I mean, everyone seems to be backing off it only because of the public outcry,
but this is insane.
There's no way that that would work.
There's no way it could be regulated.
That Google is possibly blocked from your computer by your internet provider.
I mean, it's crazy.
It's just like there was no way that that could even work at all.
And for that to even,
you know, this is people's problem with elected officials.
You know, they think that they come up with a solution.
And they're writing, you know, these little bills in their offices
and even thinking about how it would impact all of those people who elected them.
That's like everyone's problem with Congress.
And then like just the situation,
like this kind of just like sums it all up for everyone.
Like y'all didn't even think this through.
You thought that you could fix this problem.
And then you're causing so many other problems just by your potential solution.
Yeah, because they're painting it with too broad of a brush.
Absolutely.
And the other thing for me is,
how is YouTube going to survive?
It can't.
I mean, if I wanted to go and watch Ricky Jervase's
monologue from Sunday night in the Golden Globes,
it would be removed by NBC Universal.
And it makes no sense to me.
No.
Now, if you want to go after somebody,
and you and I talked about this the other day, Chad,
go after MP3ify.com.
Yeah.
Go after YouTube to MTMP3.com.
These websites where you can rip the audio from a YouTube video
and keep it yourself.
Yeah.
Go after these cats.
Don't go after the 70 year old kid that's dancing on a table
to be on say single ladies.
That's going to make me laugh.
Yeah.
I mean, are we honestly going to get a quality MP3 out of the
music and the background of a YouTube video that's being played on somebody's
boom box?
No.
And I mean, how often do I play a song on this show?
Where, first of all, you're going to get me talking over the whole thing.
Yeah.
Secondly, even if we do feature something,
like we featured the Josh Kelly song earlier,
because we were talking about Catherine Heigel,
you're not going to get the whole song.
No.
And how is it not free publicity for the artist involved?
You're racist.
Because you said yourself, you'd never heard Josh Kelly.
You're raising awareness of somebody that, I mean,
I'm sure I'm not the only person out there that's never heard of the guy.
Now, I bought the CD.
I put the CD in my PC.
I put the CD in my iPod.
I put the CD in my iTunes.
Last time I checked, if I purchased this music,
this music belongs to me.
Yeah.
And something that I posed the other day, Kelly,
and I want your thoughts on this too.
I mean, how close does this make it to
if I'm driving my car around on a beautiful spring day,
and I put my windows down,
and I'm playing the latest CD that I just bought.
How can I not get in trouble for that now?
Because that's now a public performance of somebody's work.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, that's crazy.
It's like, where did they draw the line?
It's just like another way that, you know,
people get freaked out that, you know,
like people say the government's out to get us.
I mean, like, at some point, I think that's just paranoid.
But then when they come up with stuff like this,
it's like, maybe that's not so crazy after all.
Yeah.
It's not really paranoid if they're really out to get you.
It's the same.
But it's, you've also got guys that are 140 years old
trying to write policy that applies the people
a third of their age.
That they, to a technology that they don't even have
the slightest comprehension about.
Do you not have an intern that can go, uh, do really?
Yeah.
It's, it's the oddest, the oddest, oddest thing
that I've seen in years.
I mean, when Napster went down,
you kind of saw that come down.
Audio Galaxy goes down.
You kind of saw that coming.
Yeah.
But the advantage and the doors that those guys opened.
In 1986, it cost almost $9 to manufacture a CD
because the, the technology was fairly new.
Right.
In the year of our Lord 2012, it costs almost a quarter
to make a CD and not a quarter of nine bucks,
but a quarter, literally a, like 25 cents.
So why am I still paying 13 bucks at Best Buy for CD?
No.
That's, that's why you don't see tower records anymore.
That's why you don't see.
A great line from the social network.
Yeah.
That's why you don't see.
A great line from the social network.
That's why you don't see Virgin Megastore's.
Nobody wants to buy a full album because bands aren't really
having been for a long time.
All that concerned about putting a quality album
that's great from start to finish.
There are two, three tracks, five max
that you really, really like that you will want to own.
I don't want to buy a tracks where the filler
to get the four tracks I want.
Exactly.
And I'll pay five bucks to have the five tracks that I want.
And I'll even get them from the Amazon Music Store
because I don't have to pay tax on it.
Right.
That depends on what state you live in.
That's true.
That's true.
But to me, the artist is going to get my money.
He's not going to get all 13 bucks on my money.
But he's going to get part of my money.
He's actually probably going to get better percentage
because he's not having to pay somebody
to manufacture a CD.
And you know what?
By that token though, he might get all 13 of my dollars
if he puts out a quality product.
But see, to me, it's not even about that anymore.
I'll be willing to buy your whole album
if your whole album is good.
I'll go out and buy soul too.
Let's take a quick poll of everybody on this show.
Can we all start with you?
In the last year, how many CDs would you say you bought?
She's saying none.
And I'll say the exact same thing.
I will not say that.
I have bought actually quite a few CDs in the last year.
However, there's a caveat here.
Most of the CDs I've bought are used.
Yeah.
We have a wonderful place called the movie trading company.
Uh-huh.
And they now feature CDs.
Okay, then, then how many new CDs have you bought?
Okay.
Let me, let me think.
It's done.
You probably bought quite a few from the Christian bookstore.
Right.
But a lot of those I bought a movie trading company too.
Oh, you did?
Okay.
I bought the green album.
The Muppets.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
I bought the new Nickelback.
Michael Jackson Immortal.
Michael Jackson Immortal.
The 2Disk version of that.
By the way, have you heard that yet, Kelly?
No, I haven't.
It is the soundtrack for the Cirque des Soleis show
that's touring around right now.
It is wonderful.
It's going to be, I want to say it's going to be an okay see at some point.
I know it's going to be in Houston in San Antonio.
But look that up.
It's really, really good.
But if you want to compare that to the number of digital downloads
from iTunes or Amazon that I've done this year,
that number's not even close.
Yeah, I wouldn't think so.
But, and that artist is still going to get money from me.
That's, see, that's the thing with it for me.
That I don't understand why nobody's,
I mean, I've actually heard people come out and lash against iTunes.
And I'm like, no!
No.
Now, iTunes is actually getting you paid!
I'm going to say it right here on this show.
I've said it before you and I have talked about this chat.
I honestly believe that the day of the record label,
as you know it, is coming to an end.
Yeah, see, therein lies the rub.
Therein lies the rub because we keep saying the artist is going to get paid.
Not before the label does.
You know, I mean, if I have pro tools on my laptop,
I am currently in a working on a musical project.
We could record our album with the assistance of nobody but ourselves and some software.
Yeah, but getting, put pro tools on a laptop.
You're ready to go.
But getting it distributed is the biggest stumbling block for every band.
That's why they all have to be signed to a label.
Not if you have iTunes.
Well, but you've got no marketing, but a band that you and I are big fans of,
Haunchy, I can get both of their albums.
Haunchy is a comedy band that are, they're very, very good.
I can get both of their albums on iTunes right now and they're local.
See, and iTunes business model is you don't really have to have a distribution label.
You can get our show through iTunes right now, not on the iTunes store,
but you can go into your iTunes and you can subscribe to RRSS feed and get it into your iTunes right now.
Yeah, and it doesn't cost you anything.
No, but you have to have a little bit of technical know how to get it.
Right, but still from a music aspect.
If you can get it to them, they'll put it on the store.
Yeah, but it's just getting your name out there.
That's the biggest push.
But that's when you need the label behind you.
And that's where we come, that's where we're social networking comes in.
Facebook, Twitter, for musicians, my space is still a viable option.
Those are marketing tools that don't cost you a dime.
Right.
They cost you about five minutes of your time.
You know, in somebody like Kelly, who is a journalist, and she covers,
she covers a lot of the local sporting events, especially in Tulsa.
I know when the Tulsa shock plays in the WNBA in the summer.
You're pretty much in every game, aren't you?
No, we kind of take turns.
You know, she live tweets from the games.
I mean, if you go to her Twitter page, her picture is actually someone taking a picture
at the game and you can see her in the crowd tweeting.
Oh, really?
Yes.
Who did that, by the way?
How did you handle that?
Or did you change your picture again?
What did you say?
Your background picture on your Twitter page.
Is it still you at the shot game, or somebody was taking a picture of you tweeting?
Oh, that was actually at media day.
Oh, was it?
Yeah.
So one of your fellow members of the media caught you tweeting?
Yeah, it caught me a videoing.
I was doing a video interview with Liz Campbell.
And you took a photo of me because you thought it was, I don't know, capturing the moment.
And I actually love the picture.
And with me, you know, mostly working.
So I kept it as my background for a while.
Well, if you look at her profile picture, it's a close-up of her face.
And if you look at the background picture on page, that's like the one part of her that's covered
up. She's actually using her phone and she's covering it.
So between the two, you get the full picture.
I'm trying to find out what it would be.
That's right. It's definitely right.
And she's on my Twitter page.
You can find it from my face as well.
I'll go to yours.
And it is still Kelly Hines T.W., right?
Yes.
Yeah, we plugged it earlier.
I just want to make sure I didn't bite.
Thank you.
Well, you know, hey, if you are kind enough to grace us with your presence on the show,
the least we can do is promote you.
What's the latest up there that's going on?
Have you been able to expand your horizons some yet?
Right now, we're very much in high school basketball season.
And that's been so much fun.
I cover Girls Basketball.
And it's been a great experience this season.
And we have several really good teams.
Some of the best players in the state are here in the Tulsa area.
So some of the top recruits in the nation for the class of 2013 actually
are playing here.
And that's just been a blast.
And, you know, the full season was so
no fun.
I've ever had got to cover a full state all season.
You got caught up in a rainstorm, if I'm not mistaken, at one of the games.
When you were on Cody's playbook, I was listening that week.
Yeah, that was insane.
That was one of the strangest things I've ever experienced.
The game was just to start really late anyway.
I think it was like a...
It didn't start at like almost 10-30.
Yeah, it was like, it didn't start at almost 10-30 or something.
Well, it ended up starting after midnight because of a three-hour,
free rainstorm.
So they made everyone leave the stadium and everyone was just hanging out
underneath the stadium.
It was kind of a weird field anyway.
And then they opened up the basketball arena and the next door
and the dealer was just hanging out for three hours.
And then the game didn't end until after 3am.
And it was absolutely insane.
And to me, that's the beauty of college football.
Because that would only happen at the college football game.
That's right.
You know, actually, Cody and I got to go see a game last year up at Norman.
And that was the first time I'd really been to a college football game.
Because I went to South Florida and we didn't have football back then.
Basically, our founder said this is going to be an academic institution.
And as long as I'm alive, this school will not have football.
She passed away.
We got football the next year, literally.
So to be able to actually experience a college football game was kind of a cool thing.
And then the next week, we ended up going to the Baylor Tech game that was here
during the state fair.
That was a good time.
Oh, those are both great places to be then.
Yeah, well, it was the only problem is that was the one day
in October that it got really, really warm.
And we got sunburned all beyond recognition.
The three of us did.
Let me ask you, do you have any inside track right now on this Joe Paterno situation?
I don't.
I just, you know, I'm seeing what, you know, everybody's been seeing about.
Um, just on Twitter just from today.
And I had a friend text me about it.
And that's how I first heard about it.
So on Twitter, I just was like, wow, that's, that's crazy.
I don't know any more than just been out there in the past few hours.
I mean, really, I mean, there's conflicting reports now with people.
Some people are saying that he has passed.
Some people are saying he hasn't.
There are conflicting reports right there.
We keep our TV in the studio on ESPN news.
They have not said that he has passed.
Yes, CBS is debunking it right now.
Okay, CBS sports, yeah, because John said CBS sports had it,
but they're saying it's not there now.
Wow.
But what we do know is that they are flying friends and family members in
at his request to say a final goodbye.
Wow, that's just crazy.
I mean, it seemed like, look at it just a little bit after all of that,
you know, they said that he was near death and, you know,
that TV sort of go away and not really be the case.
And so when I saw this earlier, oh, this again.
I thought, well, maybe it's really true at the time.
It's just, it's really sad.
I mean, I think everyone has mixed feelings about all of it, you know?
It's so much in a completely different way reminds me of Eddie Sutton,
just, you know, the sort of stuff that happened with him,
which I'm not comparing them.
I just like, when someone you really respect and who is a legend,
you know, goes through something like that,
it just makes you feel different, but also sad.
I don't know, I think everybody just has strange mixed feelings about all of it.
And for him to pass away so soon after all of this,
I think, you know, you just wonder whether he's in a way dying from a broken heart.
I don't know, I just think the timing of all of it is just absolutely insane.
Yeah, I totally agree with you.
And that could be the perfect way to put that.
And because I can't even put the way I feel into words right now.
Oh, I'm such of two minds on this thing.
And it's just one of those deals.
It's, you just get uncomfortable at a certain point.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
And you just have to think about, you know, his family and friends, like,
you know, I don't know what he's really like.
You know, I don't really know much other than what we see him
on the sideline and interviews.
And just for someone close to you to go through all of that.
And then for this to happen, it just, I don't even know.
I can't even imagine what they're going through with all the media and all of the attention on it.
That just must be really hard making, you know, a difficult situation even worse.
Absolutely.
And the story is keep getting lost in translation.
Apparently it was reported by CBS because they picked it up from a tweet by
onward state, which is an online pen state news outlet.
And a paterno spokesperson came as it, no, he's still with us.
It's not good, but he's not passed away.
So it keeps getting all jumbled up.
I don't know, I don't know who reported it to to whom.
And why that, why that report got crossed over.
But it's a, it's a site that's actually run by pen state students.
All right, so are we ready to move on to our next segment?
Because we're about to do some music talk.
Okay.
And Kelly, I'm sure you can probably guess what our first story is going to be on music talk tonight.
Let's crank this bad boy up right here.
Of course, you are hearing the intro to at last by Edda James, who passed away yesterday
at the age of 73.
I mean, how many people just off off off the top of your head?
How many people do you know that use this song as the song in their wedding as their first dance?
I mean, this has to be top five of all time.
It's got to be.
Oh, it's got to be, I just went to a wedding a few weeks ago and it wasn't like their first dance
or anything, but it was one of the, you know, the first songs that they played during the,
you know, the dances and I just think it's one of those classic wedding songs that I mean,
don't always be a classic.
And I don't care who else tries this song.
This version, Edda James, is the only version of this song that should ever be done.
Beyonce, nice try.
You should have just lip-synced this version.
I'm just saying, I'm not saying she did a horrible version, but it wasn't Edda James.
Anyway, and I'm a big fan of Nat King Cole and he's done a cover of this and it doesn't come close.
She was known as the matriarch of R&B, debate it.
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Mary J. Blige.
I, I contend Mary J. Blige, great studio musician, Horrible Live.
Horrible Live, her voice irritates me.
She was born, Edda James born January 25th, 1938 in LA.
Her mother was 14 at the time.
God almighty.
Never knew who her father was.
She thought her father was a Minnesota fats, but it was never proven.
Minnesota fats, really.
So she thought her father was,
she was one of the artists on chess records, which in 1960, if you've seen Cadillac records,
it's that kind of story.
chess records was only reserved for the for the greats, the best of the best.
Basically, Elvis recorded on chess for a while.
You were a top god if you recorded it, chess.
I mean, what else do you say?
This, this, it's not even the end of January and you've already got one of your marquee losses
of the year, right now.
We want to send our best to her family and friends.
She will be missed and there better be a huge tribute on the Grammy's next month.
Oh, yeah, believe it.
Let us move on a little bit and go to the other end of the spectrum.
Taylor Swift says that her next album will be about, quote,
an absolute crash and burn heartbreak, unquote, that she experienced.
So this is going to be like her other two albums that, because nobody's ever done this.
Let me just say something Taylor Swift, memo to Taylor Swift, lovely young lady.
You ain't going to be Adele.
Let's be honest.
Can you debate me on saying 21 was the best album last year?
I can't say that again.
That Adele's 21 was the best album last year by a country model.
I love that album so much it made me go by 19, because I didn't own it.
Her version of, to make you feel my love and her version of the Kier's Love song,
done, that blew my mind when I heard it.
She's got the corner on bad breakups right now.
You can't, oh yeah, and everyone wants her to have bad breakups because they make
really great songs.
Well, what I've said though is if you're going to date her, you better marry her,
because if you don't, she's going to write an album about you.
I just, to me, Taylor Swift needs to look at that watch, because 15 minutes is coming up quick.
Yikes.
I just think that this country pop era that we're in right now,
Cody, who was the former co-host of this show, he believes that there need to be two different
award shows for country, country, pop, and country. And I agree with him.
Then we have this little Wayne story, which is a little odd.
Little Wayne and his entourage get into a fight with Des Bryant's entourage.
Did you read about this today, Kelly?
Oh yeah, all of that is completely believable.
Apparently his entourage is making fun of Des Bryant's year with the Cowboys and as well
as his financial problems that apparently he's got a $10,000 loan that he never paid back.
But he's also, I mean, he's from Kelly's neck of the woods, Oklahoma State.
I mean, he's still, last night heard he still hadn't paid his rent and still water.
Wow. Stay classy, Des, no joke.
Dude, cops got involved in this thing at a club in Miami.
Here's a tip. If you're a celebrity, stay the hell away from clubs in Miami.
Because cops will be involved, especially if you're a frog, you're a lizard, you're a frizzard.
Tony Roberts, you're a genius.
We have another CMT Crossroads coming up very, very soon,
featuring Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood.
I don't know how I feel about this.
American idols colliding, so to speak. Boy, that debut this week.
Can you make that sound effect again, sir?
That's me beating my head against the microphone.
I mean, I literally, I actually tweeted during the, when I watched the premiere,
because I work late, so I don't watch when I got home.
I actually heard Jennifer Lopez say it was a little bit all over the place.
How can you be a little bit all over the place?
If I didn't love my television so much, I probably would have thrown my laptop at it.
Is that like jumbo shrimp?
It pretty much is.
It's like, I promise myself I'm not going to watch Idol this year.
I'm not going to watch Idol this year.
It made me so mad last year.
And why am I watching it?
I don't know. I don't know why you keep getting sucked in.
I do it for the kids, dammit.
I do it for the kids.
And the kids know this?
No, not really.
Okay.
Our audience goes really dude.
Really, we don't have to really seriously let it go.
CBS now reporting Joe, Joe Pa has been removed from the respirator but has not passed.
Oh, geez.
So thank you, John, for that update.
So I mean, I love CMT Crossroads.
It's one of my favorite shows to watch.
Some of the combinations they did, John Mayer was on at one point
with, and I can't remember who he was on there with.
Wow, that was a great point to not make Rob.
But the point being CMT Crossroads, I mean, Sarah Evans was with maroon five.
That was a great episode.
I haven't watched one.
I haven't liked yet.
So I'll watch it.
And then there's a story that came down late last night.
You texted me, you know, that came down this morning because you texted me.
I was in a meeting and I was like, what the crap?
And what others saw him to play than this one.
Because it features both of them.
Yeah.
Heidi Klum filing for divorce from seal.
They have two or three kids together and he adopted her,
her child from a previous.
Anybody want to, we're going to let, we're going to have our special guest, Kelly Hines
from Tulsa World.
I'm going to let her make the guess on what the reason she filed for divorce was.
Oh, I know.
I don't want to do that.
Because it's the same reason everybody in Hollywood files for divorce.
Oh, of course.
What would that be?
I just want to think about it.
I don't want to think about it.
They want the ones who just need a kind of brother.
Chad, irreconcilable differences.
That's it.
That's all they're saying.
She's supposed to file Monday morning.
This one I thought was going to make it.
That did too.
Because first of all, it's seal.
That dude is one step away from being Samuel Jackson smooth and Jay Z smooth.
You know, well, his name is Samuel.
So he's even closer than we thought.
And he proposed to her on top of a glacier.
I mean, how Pimp is that?
Yes.
You don't get much more Pimp than that.
And you and I have both seen him live.
You've seen the ones I've seen him twice.
That dude throws down live.
Yes, he does.
Kelly, have you ever had a chance to watch any of his live footage?
I've seen some of his live stuff.
I haven't ever been to it.
That dude that dude delivers live.
Oh, man, he puts it all out there.
And it's as good on stage as it is in your iPod.
And we are about a week away from his new album.
Oh, my God.
Soul too.
I actually got a hold of it early because it's actually.
Allegedly.
Allegedly.
No, it's it got released.
I found it.
Oh, it got released.
It got released overseas.
It got released overseas in November.
But again, we're not overseas.
So allegedly there are import stores everywhere.
Certainly just say it.
There are import stores everywhere.
Worry not.
I can't wait until he comes through here.
And this and this did make me sad when you texted me with this.
Yeah, I was bummed.
I was like, you got to be kidding.
Yeah.
If you did you ever hear Soul Kelly when he covered a bunch of 60 Soul Classics?
Oh, no.
Oh, my God.
That's what he's doing now.
He's he's he's now reached Rod Stewart level where he can just
do covers for the rest of ever.
And it doesn't matter because it's awesome.
Give her a little sum.
Well, she can't hear it.
They'll can't she.
No, but when you get a chance if you're somewhere where you can
like queue up some stuff on Amazon or on iTunes,
just go listen to some of the tracks.
Yeah, Soul was was was like standards from the 60s and Soul 2.
He's pretty much bumped it up a decade.
Just make sure you're sitting down
because when you queue up either it's a man's man's man's world
or changes going to come.
That's the ball game.
And he covers love won't let me wait on Soul 2.
My major Nelson God.
Somebody call my mom.
Just shut up.
Thank you for throwing a bucket of cold water on this conversation.
Only one music new release of note this week.
Leandria Johnson releases the Awakening of Leandria Johnson volume two,
which there was a volume one.
The reason I we bring her up,
she was a winner of the BET version of American Idol called Sunday brunch,
the gospel version.
Oh, okay.
I have no idea what this lady is.
She's good.
She's got a good voice.
The one video I saw was kind of wheels off.
But other than that,
kind of like Van Halen's new video,
have you seen this Kelly, the new Van Halen video?
It's called Tattoo.
It's
it looks like they I said last week on the show.
It looks like they found the back room at an Arby's in Indianapolis
and said, hey, can we film a video in here?
And the songs I still don't know how I feel about this song.
He's got a cool jacket on though.
They really got it.
They really got a cool jacket.
And some of it they're going backwards
and Dave doesn't know how to sing backwards
so it's, Dave's not Davey.
Entertainment Weekly's got it.
YouTube's got it.
Just go check it out.
But don't set the bar real high.
I'm just letting you know.
Okay.
We're going to do a little bit of NHL talk right now.
We got the announcement that the winter classic
for next year will be Toronto versus Detroit.
But they have not said who's going to be hosting it.
Whether it's going to be
a Ford field though,
that's not retractable, is it?
I don't know.
Don't get me lying.
Can we am I right on that?
Ford was not a retractable.
So we're in there Detroit.
Never mind, never mind.
Because the whole point of the winter classic is to be outside,
but Skydome's retractable.
They could do it at Skydome.
That's probably, well they'll do it then.
Yeah.
But they haven't said who the home team's going to be.
So we don't know.
Let's just do it on one of the lakes by
one of the great lakes.
A frozen section.
Okay.
Now everybody calm down.
I'm going to try to get through standings
and say the right teams.
I don't know if you've heard the show
the last couple weeks, Kelly,
but I can't seem to get certain teams names right.
Play your bets.
Play your bets.
I don't know what the overrider is,
but I'll hold on.
I got to pull up any show.
I don't know why I don't have any show anymore.
The people are waiting.
Skinner don't start with freebirds.
Okay, here we go.
Standings.
In the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division,
the New York Islanders
is that a league low?
No.
I don't have a league low, but they are.
They are in last place.
The New Jersey Devils are above them.
The Pittsburgh Penguins in third place in the division
behind Philly and the Rangers.
Still battling it out.
What did you get?
Did you watch the Winter Classic this year, Kelly?
Yeah.
Was that not a great game?
Oh, yeah.
Did you catch any of the 24-7s they did on HBO for it?
No, I didn't.
Oh, you got to go back and watch them.
Nobody, no, nobody does sports documentaries like HBO.
We talked about that on the show last week.
They're doing a brand new six-part series about Freddie Roach
that premiered last night.
And it is on my DVR.
In the Northeast Division Montreal.
They are, they have 43 points are tied with Buffalo,
Toronto, the Maple Leafs.
There you go.
Our eight points ahead of them.
I can't get that one right ever.
In second place, the odor-wise senators.
They are at 60 points, only two points behind John's beloved Boston Bruins.
Oh, John said he heard they may play the, uh,
the Winter Classic at the Big House.
If Detroit's going to host it.
The Big House.
Where the University of Michigan plays.
Oh, oh, in.
Because that doesn't, doesn't Michigan and Michigan state
play a hockey game there every year?
You're asking me or you're asking?
I'm just asking in general.
I don't know.
Because I know they did it at one point.
I was at the new one.
That's the do.
And in the Southeast Division.
Tampa Bay is in a seller right now with 42 points.
That they still don't have the worst point total in the league.
Wait till we get to that.
Carolina above them.
Winter peg is above them.
My Panthers in second and the Washington Ovechkins have taken first place
in the Southwest or Southeast Division.
Wow, Western Conference Central Division.
Columbus has a league low 31 points.
Right now they are 1328 in the lowly blue jackets.
Nashville, not that far.
Actually, Nashville has 27 points better than Columbus right now.
That's brutality.
St. Louis right in the middle.
Day two is one point behind Chicago for the lead in the Central Division.
Northwest Division.
Edmonton 38 points in the seller.
They are 12 points behind Calgary,
who is one point behind Minnesota,
who is one point behind Colorado.
However, the Vancouver Canucks are 10 points up on Colorado for first place right now.
And in the Pacific Division.
The Anaheim Ducks.
I will get that right.
There we go.
They have 41 points.
They are nine points behind Phoenix and Dallas right now.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Let me try that again.
Okay.
Can you hear the echo when I do that, Calgary?
No.
Okay.
So to her, she was like, what the crap was that, dude?
And Dallas and Phoenix are six points behind Los Angeles.
Right now San Jose has 57 points.
God, we are slowly approaching the halfway point.
Gotta get on the bike and ride.
Let us move on.
Can we just skip this video game talk story,
or did you have other stuff?
I had other stuff I'd add it to.
Okay, we'll do a little.
We've added video game talk to the show,
which I'm sure absolutely just.
Kelly is jumping up and down in her seat.
Like Tom Cruise on Oprah right now.
I'm just, it's just a couple of quick bullet points.
You've heard about this juggernaut that's going to take on
World of Warcraft, Star Wars over the public.
Yes, isn't the trailer up for this?
Oh, the game is out.
The game came out the week after Christmas.
Any guesses as to what the final budget was on this game?
20 billion dollars.
No, you're way off, but a little more realistic guess maybe.
250 million.
You're really close.
Wow, look at me.
200 million dollars for the older public.
Yes, they had this is this is multi-multi multi-player, right?
This is this is the Star Wars true Star Wars version
of the World of Warcraft.
They hired a thousand voice actors to voice 4,000.
And nobody could call me.
I'm available.
I don't get my audition tape.
My phone never rang either.
They're remaking Tony Hawk.
What's your hands?
It's Mary.
They're remaking slash rebooting Tony Hawk.
That whole franchise they kind of put a bullet in.
They're they're basically going to do the first one in HD.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD.
It's going to be like a best of Tony Hawk's greatest
parks and stuff that were that you skated on in the series past.
So that's related for at least later this year.
And we got the the first look at Resident Evil 6,
which is dropping November 20th.
Which looks and we have the first look now.
Yeah, good lord.
This thing looks amazing.
Now just do a little bit of math in your head.
I don't like math.
This is the 15th anniversary of Resident Evil.
The 15th anniversary of it.
Okay, let's can we stop this?
Because I spend eight hours a day at my job.
When we have to do I do a nightly briefing with all of my trainings
and we do celebrity birthdays and on this day in history.
It is bad enough when I have to reference Stone Temple pilots
and I have 45 people look at me and go who?
Yeah.
And now you're going to tell me that Resident Evil's 15 years old.
Yeah.
And I was talking about this with my daughter.
I'm out of Metamusel.
Okay, I want you to know that.
Well, think about this though.
The first three came out on the original PlayStation.
The first three.
It's taken us this long to get to five to get to six.
Well, think of how many final fantasies we've had in the last five years.
But those aren't natural progressions of stories.
Those are completely different stories in most cases.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
One, two, three.
It has nothing to do with any of the other ones for the most part.
But one, two and three was on the PlayStation.
Four came out on the PlayStation two and a couple of other consoles.
Five came out on the PlayStation three.
And now that we're at the end of the PlayStation three's life cycle,
pretty much, now we get six.
I'm talking about that here in a minute.
Yeah.
And final note.
Diablo three is another game that is beloved by a lot of that franchises.
That's the one I had Skyrim come in consoles.
It's Diablo three that's coming to consoles this year.
You're right.
I apologize.
Well, their producer has jumped ship from Blizzard.
To where he's just he's left Blizzard.
Steve Parker has left Blizzard right as Diablo three's getting ready to launch.
He just said, okay, I'm out of here.
He's made his money.
So like sometimes not a very good sign if you are the head of a project that big
and right before the game releases, you walk away.
Yeah, you might want to work.
And maybe the fact they're trying to put that the consoles
is they're kind of worried and they're not going to make the money.
I don't think it's going to happen personally.
I think they're going to try to do a console translation this year.
I don't think it's going to happen.
You ready?
Go ahead.
Let's talk NFL.
Is there anything better than NFL films music?
I turn into I turn into Beavis.
You can't help but hear facet in this voice.
The guy that says the autumn wind is a raider.
And on the frozen duck drive.
I haven't gotten there yet.
We start with the visual playoff.
We can how much did you get to watch last weekend, Kelly?
What do you think?
How much football did you get to watch last weekend?
Oh, like all of it.
I've got to watch a chunk of it.
We actually started the show with about three minutes left in the Nuro and San Francisco game.
So that game basically took over the show for like the first 20 minutes.
We're like, I mean,
and you really can't fault either one of these guys.
You look at Drew Breeze, 40 of 63.
He threw the ball 63 times.
How does he have an arm lift?
462 yards, four touchdowns and two picks.
But again, we've said this on this show the last three weeks straight.
And I'm sure you agree on this, Kelly.
So who called Alex Smith and said, hey, you're a quarterback?
Where has he been?
So crazy.
I'm just like, what mean 24 of 42, 299 yards and three touchdowns?
And he ran one in from about 30 yards.
Somewhere in the University of Utah is going, that's the dude we remember.
Yeah, that's somebody had something to prove.
And then, oh, jeez, then there's this.
As the night went on, things got rougher for me.
Look at that Syracuse losing the Notre Dame.
Oh, jeez, the T-Bo's.
Young Timothy had a rough day on Saturday night as New England beats them like a drum.
45 to 10.
I've never seen a drum get beaten that way.
But you know what, don't ever hack off Tom Brady.
Have we not learned this lesson yet?
Leave Bella check in Brady alone because if you make a mad, they're going to come out and
they're going to stomp all over you.
Brady, 26 to 34, 363 yards, six touchdowns.
God almighty.
One pick.
Denver's top performer was Willis McGayhee who ran 17 rushes or 76 yards and then
touched out.
And I mean, this game started bad and it got nothing but worse.
Did you actually make it all the way through this game, Kelly?
Yeah, I did.
We got off the air.
John and I went to dinner and it was still going on.
The brutality just continued.
Then we go to Sunday and a game that most of us was not, it was a lot closer, I'm sorry,
than most of us thought it would be.
Baltimore beats Houston 20 to 13 in a game where you were kind of going.
When's Baltimore going to turn the jets on here?
And they never did.
I mean, Flacco didn't even break 200 yards passing.
Which amazed me.
I mean, Aryan Foster had almost as much yards rushing as Flacco had passing.
And then, excuse me for one moment,
smartest man alive.
That would be me.
I'm the only person on this show that said don't put anything past Eli Manning and the New York
Giants as they go to the frozen tundra of Lamboville and beat the Green Bay Packers 37 to 20.
And you know what else?
We are now one step closer to something I said last week on this show.
What's a New England Giants in Patent's House?
I said, I said last week on the show Kelly that if it's New York and New England in Patent's House,
it will be the biggest nightmare for the Indianapolis cult ever.
But it's possible now.
It can happen.
Fans of animation domination, you're not getting anything tomorrow night, by the way.
Because here's your schedule for tomorrow at three o'clock Eastern two o'clock Pacific,
Baltimore at New England.
I think this is where the dream ends for Baltimore.
You think so?
You asked me that question a week ago.
I have a different answer.
Tom Brady came out last Saturday night and he thought it was 2002.
I mean, that's what happened.
He had an awakening.
Bella checks got to buy a new hoodie.
They are seven and one at home, sir.
Baltimore's 500 on the road.
Then at 630 Eastern 530 Central, Giants at San Francisco.
This this game I think is going to be a dog fight.
Just because San Francisco is scarlet Joe Hanson smoking hot right now.
It was bizarre.
Debate me.
They right now are Catherine Zeta Jones hot right now.
Kelly, who you got tomorrow?
So hard.
I think who England rolls big time.
I'll agree with you.
I think it's going to be a fight at all.
I'm a huge West Walker fan.
See, he's a former dolphin.
He's a he's a former dolphin great.
So I got to love the guy.
Yes.
And there's behind Brady and Ron Kowski, her man,
a Walker.
I mean, I don't think it's going to be a competition.
The other day, I go back and forth.
I love the 49ers last week.
I was all about it.
I think such an emotional win like that says so much.
But then you look at this.
I am some of like, you seem a little untouchable at times.
But the 49ers defensive so good.
Probably I think I'm going to go with the Giants,
but I could definitely do the 49ers.
I'm like you, I keep going back and forth.
I mean, San Francisco's in their house, but I just refuse.
To count out Eli Manning in the playoffs.
This guy is an absolute beast right now.
And he is in beast mode.
I can't pick that late game.
Chad, who do you have in the AFC game first?
Who do I have in the AFC game?
I'm with you.
Baltimore goes down.
I don't I say I don't even think this is close.
Baltimore goes down.
Ray Lewis is not going to get the dream.
No.
Now the NFC game.
I just I can't pick a winner either.
I can't either.
Because I'm afraid I want to pick San Francisco,
but I'm afraid to pick San Francisco.
Because I think Eli could just come out and just torture it.
That Victor Cruz could wind up with 250 yards
receiving in a blink of an eye.
Yeah, I think he solves the dancing all over San Francisco.
I think the the the Peyton Nightmare comes true.
So you think my Super Bowl prediction from last week happens.
Yeah, I really do.
I mean, that's that's not just a slight.
And as as a doll fan and you as a cowboy fan,
that's just such a bitter pill to swallow.
Well, I mean, you know, I'm sick of New England being in the AFC East.
You know, once once my horse got eliminated from the race,
I'm like, I'm just I'm just here to watch the drama.
I'm just trying not to get sued.
Yeah, I'm just watching the drama unfold.
I'm just enjoying what's being played out.
Mid afternoon game will be on CBS.
The late game will be on Fox.
That's why I said if you like animation domination,
you're not getting family guy or anything tomorrow night.
You would think they would have swapped,
but I will.
No, because Fox wants the prime time.
That's true.
And plus, apparently CBS has to show 60 minutes all the time.
Stupid 60 minutes.
Taking half a half an hour of the survivor finale.
That hurt maybe on belief.
Are you a survivor fan Kelly?
No, okay.
Made me mad.
Made me mad too.
We were at a paper.
We were covering the paper view that night.
Yeah, I'm going to start railing again.
Some NFL headlines.
Jim Caldwell out in Indianapolis.
I feel this is an unfair firing.
Because I said it on this show three months ago,
if you don't think one person can make a difference on a team,
reference the Indianapolis Colts.
Kelly, have you heard any whispers in the window who they're looking at?
Oh, I heard earlier.
Trouble.
Really?
But isn't he with them in kind of a weird,
isn't he with him with the organization right now in kind of a weird capacity of some form?
I think I could somehow, but I'm not really, I don't remember what the deal is,
but I saw that there were like some reports that they were going to interview him.
I'd be kind of balsy.
I don't know how to land, I guess, but that's not a bad decision.
I think it's kind of a,
or if you want to lose the teams in the southeast all the time.
Yeah, you know, I don't know how I feel about that.
Also, there are reports that the dolphins have hired Packers' offensive
coordinator and why is his name not in this story?
Yeah, I did see this right before I came over here.
I didn't put his name on the run sheet that he is the new dolphins head coach.
Can we get a decent marquee name and stop just hiring these guys that are okay in other places?
I mean, this is the guy that coached Aaron Rogers. Don't get me wrong.
But we need a name in Miami.
It's killing me.
And then there's this last story.
And I don't know if you had a chance to really look through the run sheet, Kelly.
Oh, Philbin? Philbin, you're Philbin.
Here he is.
What do you think of this next story, Chad?
PETA apparently is trying to buy the almost foreclosed home of OJ Simpson,
and they want to turn it into a meat is murder museum.
The irony there.
I read this story.
I mean, it literally sat on my screen for like five minutes,
because I was like, am I reading this?
Because this has been a bizarre world week for me anyway.
Can I cross back into Earth one, please?
At some point.
And this is, this is really a thing.
This is a thing.
They want to turn OJ's house into a meat is murder museum,
because they feel that by buying this piece of property,
it will remind people that just like humans can be,
and I swear to God, they use the phrase humans can be slashed
and knife-so-can-animals with the same impact.
That is about as tasteless of an organization as they can be,
that may be one of the most tasteless and insensitive things they've ever put out in.
I just, my jaw hit the floor.
If you're the, if you're part of the Goldman family,
I'm coming after PETA with guns drawn.
Oh yeah, I agree.
Like you scumbag pieces of junk.
Really.
I feel like they're like really not going to go through it,
that they just like wanted to express an interest
and get everyone talking about it and like,
shock value, just shock value.
Yeah, just shock value, just get tongues wagging.
It just makes me want to kick something.
Don't say kick a puppy because I'll come after you.
I didn't say that, I didn't say that.
I was thinking it, I didn't say that.
You're so stupid.
God, I just, I'll never get that organization.
I kill you got a few more minutes.
Yeah.
All right, because we're we're we're wrapping things up.
We're about to go to the list.
And we kind of had to call an audible on this week's list.
We originally were going to do movie composers,
but we'll save that.
We're going to do a little bit more research.
Yeah, we've got to get it.
But you found a really good list that we're going to talk about.
And we're going to queue up some,
some specialist music.
Just for you, sir.
Oh geez.
Because, because you're my boy, blue.
As I raise my,
my ace, frayly big gulp cup to you.
And I'll raise my, by the way, yesterday Paul Stanley's cup.
Birthday.
Yes, I'll raise my edge one back.
So this is for you on the clubhouse.
I thought you were going to go with interactive for a second there.
But good call on this one.
Thank you, sir.
Computer blue, one of the all-time great songs,
one of the all-time great albums.
So what we're going to talk about Kelly is a list of the most anticipated gadgets of 2012.
Because we really didn't do a lot of talk about CES and every kind of thing.
We really didn't because it did kind of just come and go.
There wasn't a lot of big announcements.
Kelly's big with the Twitter.
She's one of the kids with the clothes in the hair.
Oh, speaking of which, I wanted to get your opinion.
Did you watch the Golden Globes on Sunday?
I didn't.
I did.
Did you see any pictures or anything?
I don't know.
Yeah, I did see some.
Didn't Nicole Kidman just not bring it?
No, I haven't been really impressed with her lately.
Really?
I thought she looked, I mean, and again,
she is the, Kelly's the fashionista on this show.
I have to ask my wife if stuff that I'm going to wear goes together.
But I thought she looked incredible on Sunday night.
She's looked way too lanky and pasty.
And as much, and as much as I can't stand Reese Witherspoon,
I thought she looked pretty good.
I'm a bigger fan.
Oh, yeah.
No, I love her.
I'm a bigger fan of Reese Withouterspoon.
Have you not seen that picture?
You know, we've gotten through the whole show.
We haven't had to say this.
Let's go ahead and do it now.
That's Chad.
I'm Rob.
I just want to make sure we're clear on which voice belongs to who.
Pop up on, it popped up on I funny.
I have to show.
It's funnier as a visual thing, but it's a funny picture.
Anyway, is she in the matrix?
Is that what's going on?
Because there is no spoon.
There is no spoon.
Okay.
Top gadgets in 2012.
Let's get on it.
Number 10.
Apple HD TV.
I don't know how I feel about this.
Well, considering some of the details that are involved in this,
it's going to be a lot better than Microsoft TV,
which basically pick up the mantle where Web TV left off.
Remember that?
That was my first computer.
It's going to use Siri for voice commands.
So this is basically a little bit more intrigue now.
Let me ask Kelly, are you an iPhone 4S person?
Oh, yeah.
Is Siri just not the most awesome thing ever?
It just makes it so weird.
I don't use it.
I don't use Siri as much as I use the voice to text stuff,
you know, like that.
But Siri is cool, but I just feel so ridiculous talking to it.
The voice, I can't get the voice to text to work right.
Every time I do voice to text, it's so far off what I actually say.
I can't get it to work and it drives me insane.
But that's how this thing's going to be driven as long.
So I can go Siri.
I want to watch the office and then the, oh.
So I wouldn't even need a remote.
No.
Okay, now I'm not in.
I'm a dude.
I have to have a remote.
You would need a remote.
I'm sure you still can use one.
But you wouldn't necessarily need one.
This thing can be operated via a voice command system.
Say it was what's on the 4S.
All right.
Number nine.
Number nine.
The Amazon blaze mobile phone.
So Amazon's now making a phone?
Well, it's been making its own set of apps,
its own app store,
and even a cloud player for audio file streamers.
Right, I've got Amazon's cloud is free up to a certain level.
I think it's a pay for it.
So apparently that was all just steps in preparation for
a mobile phone.
I don't know.
It's going to take a lot to get me away from Apple.
Right now from the phone standpoint.
It's an Android-based phone.
It has a 4.3-inch display,
1.2 gigahertz dual core processor, 512 megs of RAM,
32 gigs of ROM.
It's a pretty big phone.
A pretty good chunk of memory,
and a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera,
and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
Okay.
And it uses that HPSA plus connectivity.
I just think Amazon's going to have to be real careful.
Well, it even has a solar panel on the battery cover.
But what if you live in Antarctica?
I just think you won't be needing this.
You probably can't buy it there.
Probably, probably paying a lot of roaming charts.
Unless Santa brings it to you.
Hey, Santa loves me.
Number 8.
Number 8.
The Windows Connect.
This rolls out next month.
If I'm not mistaken.
I mean, it's been a huge success.
Have you heard about this, Kelly?
Yeah, a little bit.
That Windows is getting their own version of the Connect.
So we are one step closer to minority report, basically.
I mean, people have already made some pretty impressive hacks
for running applications on the 360.
Now, imagine if you've got full open source running apps
on your desktop with the Connect.
The possibilities here are frightening.
But now Big Brother can see me.
It just, when I think about the porn applications,
uh, family show.
I know.
Family show, I'm just saying, that's all I'm saying.
It just, it makes you kind of cringy.
Again, that's Chad.
I'm Rob.
Just make sure we're clear on this.
You know, you know, people are doing this.
You know, it's going to happen.
I don't want to know that people are doing this.
I now have to go and get eternal sunshine
on the spotless mind for 30 seconds of this show.
Please, I just scrub my brain right now.
Blah!
We talked about comic book guy earlier in the show.
I don't, I don't need those two concepts together.
But just the, just the, the amount of, of possibilities
that this thing opens up is, is kind of frightening.
Number seven, I'm not real big on, uh, photography,
but I know that there are, uh, huge fans.
This thing looks like a beast.
Huge fans of the, uh, uh, EOS 5D Mark II,
they've been waiting for a, a follow-up.
And apparently that is coming this year.
The Mark III, uh, full, uh, 35 millimeter sensor,
32 megapixels for this camera.
So you could actually blow this thing up so you could see it from space
and pretty much, pretty good.
And it's, it's got a bigger LCD than the Mark II head
and it already had a pretty big one on there.
And those are, I mean, especially for people like,
I, I'm a big fan.
I don't, Kelly, I don't know if you ever watched this,
but the Philip DeFranco show on YouTube.
Oh, no.
He does a great show.
I'm a huge fan.
If you can look him up on YouTube,
SXE Phil, so it's sexy Phil.
And he also has a vlogger,
and he's launching a brand new channel called SourceFed on Monday.
This, he's probably going to own one of these,
like his show is that kind of quality.
Uh, and it's one of those shows
you can shoot 1080p video and everything else.
Number six.
I'm not even sure if it's going to be called this.
I know that people are speculating.
It's going to be the Xbox 720.
I just keep thinking of skateboarding when somebody says that.
Well, I thought that whenever they call it the Xbox 360.
And the picture of this thing, I'm like, that can't be
what it's going to look like.
No, it's just, it's just, it looks like something
that was on Battlestar Galactic.
I think it's just a concept art thing.
But this may or may not see the lot of day by the end of the year.
A lot of rumors I'm hearing is that this will be released next year.
Yeah, I don't get to wait another year.
Yeah, I don't see them killing the 360 now.
And, you know, just, just launching this thing.
At E3 this year.
And then it's out by the holiday season.
I don't see that happening.
Yeah, it's E3's in June, right?
Yeah, because we've heard nothing about this.
Now, what will probably be released by the end of this year?
It's number five.
Number five.
The Wii U.
Kelly, have you seen this thing?
No.
We talked about this on the show.
Was it, it was New Year's Eve because Phil was on.
Yes.
It's basically the controller for the Wii U is about the size of an iPad.
But the thing about it is it's got an LED screen on it.
So, like, if you're playing a Madden or something,
you can actually have your plays on your screen and not the big screen.
But for me, the major selling point is,
and I don't have kids, but people that do.
If your kid wants to play the Wii U,
he can actually play the game on the controller screen.
And then you can continue watching TV,
so you both can do the same thing at the same time.
Oh, wow, that's cool.
And if you're playing like Tiger Woods,
you can actually put the controller on the ground,
where you'll see the ball on your screen.
And use your Wii remote as the club so you know what you're swinging at.
This thing is insane.
It's ridiculous.
It's completely immersive, and it's, and it's,
and it's finally going to be 1080p.
Yeah.
And completely backward compatible with everything that ran on the Wii.
Controllers, games, everything.
Welcome to 1997 Nintendo, finally going HD.
Just get it on, just get their internet stuff worked out.
Not much of that.
Yeah, because they have no online presence.
Number four.
Another thing that may or may not happen,
it's anticipated, but it's still unclear
as to whether or not he will even exist,
because there have been rumblings out there of spokesman from Sony
that said that they may not even have a next-generation console,
this year or any year in the immediate future.
But it's going to happen.
Well, yeah.
I think they're waiting for Microsoft.
I think Sony's waiting for Microsoft to make a move.
Yeah, one, I think both of them are just waiting for the other to flinch.
But number four is the PlayStation 4.
I've seen the concept for this thing,
and it just, I don't know, it looks flimsy.
Yeah, well, but again, you should have seen the PS3 concepts.
Yeah, that's true.
I mean, the controller itself looks like a boomerang.
See, if the 360 would just go Blu-ray,
I'd be a happy camper.
A lot of people would just say it.
Number three.
Number three is the Dell Windows 8 tablet.
I'm not even sure how to pronounce it.
The Paisu.
The Paisu, I guess.
Sounds like a Brazilian soccer player.
The Paisu, J-U.
Paisu, gotta go!
Running the Windows 8 OS.
Which they unveiled a lot of that at CES Windows 8.
I don't know how I feel of it.
Have you, did you see any of the Windows 8 footage, Kelly?
What do you think?
Did you see any of the Windows 8 footage?
No, I haven't.
They did unveil it at CES.
I don't know how I feel about this.
It's a very odd interface to me.
But then again, I guess when they went to XP and 7,
it was an odd interface.
Maybe I just have to get used to it.
But go look it up.
I'd love to know what you think of it.
It's a very odd.
It reminds me a lot of what Windows phone interfaces look like.
Yeah.
Which I have one up.
It took me so long to get used to Windows 7,
but now like,
I can't even imagine anything else.
I love Windows 7.
I might like 8.
8.
Go take a look at it.
It's almost like they re-overhauled everything again.
Originally, this tablet was rumored to come out in October of last year.
And that didn't happen.
So they're expecting to come out possibly this month.
There's not a lot of this month left.
And once we unveil No. 2,
you'll probably figure out what No. 1 is.
Yeah.
No. 2 to the surprise of probably know what,
what No. 2, No. 1,
can probably be interchangeable.
That is true.
That is true.
No. 2 is the iPhone 5.
And really, I mean, I'm okay with my 4S for right now.
I bought my 4S on Black Friday.
It was a huge upgrade over my 3G.
But it depends on just how many bells and whistles they cram into the iPhone 5.
Yeah.
Well, they say that the 4S is pretty much making us pay to be beta testers for the iPhone 5.
It's not going to be much different.
Unless you're going to just make the screen a little bit more high-res,
you're going to go high-deaf with it.
I think that's the only things you can really do with it.
You're not going to go quad-core with it.
I don't think.
Yeah.
Because it's already a dual-core.
So if you do the math in your head,
and you have the paying attention thus far,
you know what we haven't said.
You know what we just said.
It's painfully obvious what number one is.
When I saw the concept for the...
Well, of course we're talking about the iPad 3.
Are you an iPad owner, Kelly?
I'm not.
I wish I was.
Same here.
Same here.
I haven't quite done the thing of it.
But I think I had one.
My thing is I want an iPad.
I just don't know why I want an iPad.
Right.
Because see, for this show,
a lot of this show, if you're listening live,
a lot of it's flash-based.
So you can't listen to this show live on an iPad.
Even with the U-stream app, it's not as good as it could be.
Yeah.
But it's still just as much as I love my iPod touch,
which is basically an iPad micro.
Right.
It's just so stinking cool.
It's just...
You can't look at that thing and not just go...
But the concept art for the iPad 3,
there's no border on it.
Yeah.
And it looks like the buttons are kind of...
on the video display almost holographically raised up.
I...
Very odd.
Yeah.
But it looks cool.
Yeah.
Whether or not it actually looks like this is anybody's guess.
But I'm sure it's basically just going to look like an iPhone 4S on steroids.
Which I'm sure you have no problem
with considering that you just did the homer growl.
I...
It just...
It looks...
It looks delicious to me.
I would love to get my hands on one of these taste-like chicken.
And I would carry with me everywhere I went
and drive my wife and say...
Oh, beaming you don't drive your wife
who is a British descent insane already?
Well, she...
It drove her nuts and I was always attached to my iPod touch.
And then my aunt gave her a hand-me-down iPhone 3.
And now...
Now she gets...
Now she gets...
Now she's...
Now joined the revolution.
Now she gets obsessed with tiny tower and words with friends.
I'm like, you see?
You see?
I can't do words with friends.
I can't do it.
I think you'd love it.
That's the problem.
Scrambles with friends.
I think you'd like even more because it's boggled.
Scramb...
I see.
I'm not a big boggle fan.
I thought you did like boggle.
I thought you were a real big fan of boggle.
I'm a bigger scrabble fan than a boggle fan.
Well...
That's the list.
The list.
And that is going to do it for us
this week.
Make sure that you look to look the show up.
I cannot talk tonight.
Look the show up on Facebook at the Clubhouse podcast.
You can follow the show at ClubhouseShow.
We've changed the Twitter handle.
ClubhouseShow is the new Twitter handle.
You can follow me on Twitter.
Yes, that Rob Irvin, ERVIN.
You can follow me at ChadNPG69.
Kelly your turn.
Kelly Hines PW.
That's right.
There you go.
She breaks stuff.
I pay attention to her because she breaks stuff all the time too.
And I'm now that I'm finally following her.
Yes.
Which I just followed you, Kelly.
One of the millions and millions.
I'm one of your minions now.
And again, Kelly Hines from Tulsa World.
Thank you so much for joining us tonight.
It is always a pleasure to have you on.
I want to schedule you at least once a month if we can.
And one of these days we're going to be in the same zip code.
And we're going to get you in Studio Live.
We're going to have to figure out when you're going to be down here covering something.
And we'll have you in Studio Live.
Because that's the one thing as I love it when we have people in here live.
Just for the pure three-dimensional reactions.
Thank you so much.
I cannot thank you enough for being on the show.
You have been very gracious putting up with our crap for about an hour and a half.
So we can't thank each and every one of you enough listening to us each and every week.
Make sure you listen to our Sister Show Cody's playbook right here on YouStream.
If you want sports broken down on a molecular level,
that is the dude. He is our friend. He is our brother. We love him to death.
So until next Saturday night,
when if I'm not mistaken, it will be chicken studio.
Oh, it will. Last Saturday the month, sir.
It's true.
So until next Saturday at eight on the East Coast, five on the West Coast,
for the lovely and talented Kelly Hines, for Chad, I am Rob.
Playbooks. Playbooks. Playbooks. Playbooks. I'm opening it.
He's doing a show. See, he doesn't on my show. I do it on his.
The clubhouse is closed.
And out of the way.
Come on, come on, come on.
Come on, come on.
The preceding was a sooner or greater production.
Get it going. Get it going.
Why? Because I have to.
