Good evening to the Empire. This is Rob, of course, if you listen to show you know this voice
Normally we start with the opening bumper and the opening theme
But I wanted to take just a moment to say the events not only in Newton Connecticut
But also in China yesterday are heavy on our minds. They're heavy on our hearts
We send our thoughts in our prayers to the families of the victims and
As a unit
Know that we are thinking of you know that
There are no words that can truly express how we feel
But know that our thoughts and our prayers are with you
We will try
to be
entertaining for you
But not without first recognizing
the tragedies that happened and the love that we have
for the families and friends of those that are affected
The following is a sooner or greater production
What
Keep it going there
natuurlijk
It is 805 on the East Coast.
It is 505 on the West Coast.
It is Saturday nights, the 15th of December in the year of our Lord, 2012.
The clubhouse is on the air.
It is season 3 episode 22.
We welcome each of you individually, whether you are listening live right here on
you stream, whether you are listening on the archive or whether you are listening on your
portable device.
We don't care how you do it.
We're just glad you do.
Good evening.
My name is Rob.
I'm the guy with all the screens and the buttons and the slides and the pushing of the
things.
Joining me as he often does, it wouldn't be the clubhouse podcast without him.
I mean it would be, but it would just wouldn't be with him.
He is Chad.
Thank you for the pick.
Thank you for the backhanded compliment.
I said enough nice things about you to add to it.
There's a carmic balance that needs to be struck.
You have a quota that you can't pass.
Also joining us tonight in studio.
You know when you love him, you can't live without him.
He is Andrew Beckham.
Hello everybody.
You know what I forgot to bring with me tonight to the studio?
What's that?
The spreadsheet that's got the picks we have two games today, so I'll update the Facebook
page with the results.
A quick reminder before we get rolling, no show next Saturday night.
I actually have to work, but after that I'll be on vacation for a week and after we
will be doing a show on Christmas Eve Eve Eve on the our new year's Eve Eve.
I'm sorry.
I don't know.
I'll definitely be listening.
So we also, but we do have a show tomorrow night, so it kind of balances.
I'm going to start as we always do with corrections, as I take a sip of my tasty beverage.
And for those of you that wonder, I really do that when I say I'm doing that.
It's not like a bit.
I'm witness.
He does do it with my summer slam.
What year is this?
2010.
Yeah.
Summer slam 2010 cup.
Featuring edge.
We need to sound by that way.
You can just go.
I'm trying.
That's one of the things I'm trying to work on.
If anybody has any suggestions, let me know.
I'm trying to find a program that I can use as a soundboard.
And I haven't found one that's good.
I've found one, but it only holds nine drops and they all have to be wade files that
can't be empty three files.
So I've got to figure out what we need to do about that.
But again, next car on on hiatus until February.
So we're going to get right into TV talk.
No corrections that take it.
Not.
Don was in the room.
It's a done pretty much took care of things in real time, which is nice.
So we have dueling storage war stories this week.
We try not to talk too much about the landlord.
But apparently she owes so much back taxes and she also owes $15,000 back rent on a storage
facility.
So the storage facility has said they are prepared to go do the storage wars bit and
have an auction for everything in it.
That's awesome.
That's a liberty to need a salary.
Oh, Phil's joining us this evening.
Phil, it's good to see you, sir.
I'm just thinking about you and your family today.
But that's working.
Actually, what you were saying is what we're about to get into.
There's a guy named Dave.
I don't watch.
Does anybody see a watch storage wars?
No.
I know what exists and I know it's a thing.
But it's great 3 AM television.
Is there anything such a thing?
It's great 3 AM television.
Sure.
I don't know if it's storage war.
It's qualified.
But there is.
When you can't go to storage.
If it's paid, it's paid.
If it's paid, it's paid.
If it's paid.
Isn't it all paid cable technically?
I know I have a paid cable.
It's all paid cable.
But one of the stars that showed David Hester is suing them for $750,000.
After he's fired, after putting a report out that the show is actually fixed.
And what they're doing according to this guy is they're actually putting really expensive
items in there for them to bid on, which on a certain level to me makes sense.
Because how often it's like, well, let's see we've got some Tupperware, a bass
and that, is that a 57 Chevy, I mean, how many of those do you have to go through
to find that?
Charlotte's joined us.
I mean, times do you want to be heraldorwerbara opening out of phones vaults?
Yeah.
Like, you got through 9,000 of those before you find like a bass ball signed by Dale Murphy
in the 80s when you use it the braves.
How many times do you have to turn the back of your head?
And I don't watch this show, but apparently they find like the Mona Lisa like every week.
I mean, I can understand that the guys were dressed in like bell bottoms on the newest episode.
Okay, you've been through this this many times.
Well, I'm a son of scene is one guy always loses in the other people.
They're getting like 200 or 4,000.
Yeah.
It's like, I'm a bit fob dollars and little did I know that there's an exact replica of Big Band.
A big band in the storage band.
I took that money after I sold it.
It's been it all at Boca to pepper with my family.
Pass it around, pass it around.
Chad just found a picture that just completely blew the nose off the show.
The Zimmerman just sent me that.
Zimmerman sent you that?
Well done, sir.
See you in Zimmerman, friend of the show.
But those of you sent a parody of Michael Jackson's bad album.
It's Daniel Bryan.
And it says yes.
Can't debate that.
And his head is photoshopped over Michael Jackson's head.
Another departure from another show as LA read is leaving the X factor after this season.
He said that, you know, Simon's kind of got this thing.
Oh, you're your lovely wife who's a British descent.
As said, there's been a package from UPS delivered to the studio.
Okay.
715.
Central time.
Okay.
Thank you, Jules.
But he's going to go back to his day job in talent development and running epic records.
Yeah.
He's got these have bigger fish to fry than this.
Personally, I'm not going to miss him all that much because he was kind of debaggy in this season.
Is it bad that I think he looks like Rupal?
No, I don't think it's bad at all because I don't think it's been a long time.
Because I was like Rupal's on a music show.
Oh, sorry.
That's LA read.
Sorry.
I'm just very confused now.
Just as an example, whenever he found out that he was going to be the mentor for the over 25s,
he pitched a walleye fit.
He pitched a full blown walleye fit.
That's age discrimination.
And I will not have it.
And now that we have gotten to where we have gotten to,
his guy is poised to take this thing.
To do with the cowboy.
Yeah.
That's the only reason I see him on the billboards when I try to work.
That's the only reason I know that who's that's who you're talking.
He's got a guy.
Tate Stevens.
Brittany's got a her girl.
Carly Rose Sonning Claire.
They're mother not like her.
What is that?
I guess not.
I guess she was expecting to be a serial killer.
Demi Lovato local hero.
And I use that term loosely.
Demi Lovato got completely blown out of this competition weeks ago.
Everybody not see that coming.
Because when I think I for talent, I think Demi Lovato.
Yeah.
And she's it's almost like she would not have her way to sabotage these kids careers.
They're like, no, I'm going to completely redo your look,
even though it doesn't need to be redoing.
It's the worst songs for you imaginable and get you voted off quickly.
Disney mole.
Yeah.
She's the Hogan of the X factor.
She's because she's gone over there to destroy it from the inside.
It's like Vince has done for Hogan.
And she has been like the thorn and Simon's side, the whole time.
And is it everybody a thorn and Simon's side?
No, it seems to be just you.
Well, there's one in particular every single time.
But she was really.
It's like she's like grabbing his microphone away from.
She's just being really caddy.
And he's got one group left.
Fifth harmony.
So that's where we can't put her in and Brittany in the cage.
And just let it happen.
Brittany's been surprisingly good on this.
But that's what I'm saying.
But her and Demi in the octagon.
What am I going to fight it out?
Two chicks enter one chick Lee.
Demi wouldn't have a chance.
But just for the ring my point.
Yeah.
But I still have East to LA.
If this is what you want to do, then fine.
I really don't think anyone's going to miss you all that much.
He's got more groups to go rip off like he did the TLC with her.
Yeah, this is true.
Actually, his wife did that.
X wife did that now.
Let's move on right now.
Because I thought this next story was very interesting.
Last week on the show, Great Fred of the Show Clay Harrison.
By the way, we have a couple of visitors in the studio tonight.
Being being observers of the what actually happens that people can't see.
Two great friends of the shot.
I don't know if they want me to say who they are.
That's okay.
Okay.
Okay.
I'm just checking my voice.
That's what I thought this was.
Yeah, that's what we're doing.
Russell, who was usually checks in via Twitter is here.
Jeremy also good friend of the show is here.
We've been trying to get him to.
He's been wanting to come check the show out for many, many moons.
And I think we finally got our schedules and lines of the guys are here tonight.
They're going to be with us tomorrow night.
Yeah.
I know.
Greg texted me earlier today.
He's got to work the overnight.
It has job tonight.
So he wasn't sure if he's going to be here tomorrow or not.
Whew.
Double shift.
Not fun for those.
But if you're, anyway, back to last week.
Um.
Clay was here and he did it.
Monished both Chad and myself.
For not have watching to have watched the episode of The Walking Dead.
Which it's not on purpose.
I just have too many shows right now.
But if we want to get caught up.
Apparently.
In February.
AMC is going to show.
We show all of seasons one and two.
What they're going to show them all in black and white.
Which I'm kind of more on board of watching it that way.
Because isn't the comic in black and white?
Well, and I think they're kind of paying homage to neither the living dead.
Which was.
We got this whole genre started.
Yeah.
And it was shot black and white.
I mean, I made just try to get caught up.
That's kind of odd.
Can I use the word May.
Yes.
You preface that.
But I am caught up on Survivor.
I'm ready for the finale tomorrow night.
No kidding.
And I was very happy.
Yes.
With this week's episode.
Long time way overdue.
And then just.
I guess I guess.
I guess I'd be just kind of just figured she was going.
So she just went scorched earth with everybody.
Uh-huh.
She's the eternal question.
Do you take somebody to the final survivor that you know you can be?
And deal with that.
Or do you just take somebody that you might be on?
I think I would.
I would've got rid of her weeks ago.
How bad did you feel for.
How bad did you feel for Denise and everybody else was away on the reward challenge.
You know, she wanted to just throw herself into the surf with everybody.
And boy.
And I know we're going to have a tangent here.
But Jonathan Tanner.
The double bird soul.
In the middle of the boat.
It's just completely missed it whenever it happened.
I was like, I almost did.
I caught on the corner of my mouth.
I was like, I just was laughing.
I was very, very, very, very.
Shall we say sour crate?
I was laughing hysterically.
It feels like, what happened?
Yeah.
I'm going to be up late tomorrow because we've got the paper view tomorrow night.
I mean, I've got to watch the Survivor finale when I get home the night.
So I'm not going to get up at 545.
That's going to get up at 9.
That's really for me.
I got to get up at 745.
And if you're fan of DC Nation as I am Greenlander,
the animated series as well as Young Justice,
that will return January 5th.
It just kind of stopped.
And nobody knew why.
It just, okay, we're going to be done for a while.
But they will be back January 5th.
If you have not watched Young Justice,
great show.
And, you know, Denise involved with Greenlander.
It's a CG kind of his animation.
It's not done CG.
Even if you're not a Greenlander fan,
which I'm like, I'm a casual Greenlander fan.
I enjoy the film.
I'm always enjoying a owl or John or whoever it is.
I'm a fringe fan.
I'm a fan like the pile.
I'm a fan of the Justice League animated series version of Greenlander.
It's a good show.
They tell the story well.
His, I was surprised on how well his animation style
is related to CGI versus Clone Wars.
Because I think Clone Wars just looks weird.
I've got no issue with it.
I just, to me, the Clone Wars just seems a little bit too kittish.
Okay.
I never got in the Greenlander in all periods.
You are listening to the clubhouse.
We are live every Saturday night eight o'clock on the East Coast 5 o'clock on the West Coast.
Again, no show next week.
We're going to take the week off.
But we will be back New Year's Eve weekend.
We are your one stop shop for all things sports and entertainment.
Let us move on to the NFL talk.
What do you do if you're a New Orleans Saints fan right now?
Paul Tagliaboo says there will be no, they're lifting all of the penalties for bounty gate,
but there was behavior detrimental to the league.
And Chad texted me about this.
Was it Wednesday, I guess?
I think so.
And I said, it's real easy.
It's the least way of saying we know you did something wrong,
but we can't prove it and we're not willing to admit that we're wrong.
You said it, I don't think you can say anything about that.
That's exactly what this is.
It's a very simple letter in the law.
Apparently Jonathanville, although still continuing with his defamation suit.
Really?
So this thing is happening.
Does he not make enough money that he needs more?
He never, he never lost a check.
He worked every game because of the stupid appeal.
He's getting paid for to do nothing.
That's what I'm saying.
What's he crying about?
Now the coaches I believe are still suspended though.
This was they're saying the coaches were very heavy.
This was screwed up nine ways to Sunday.
There was there was no good way this was going to come out.
And it's just getting worse and worse.
Let's do your week 14 recap gentlemen, shall we?
I mean 13.
Actually the the run sheets wrong.
But we behind.
We are okay.
Week 14.
We already went over the Thursday night game last Sunday.
Dallas beat Cincinnati 20 to 19 by scoring 10 points.
In the last five minutes of this game.
Sloppy football.
Oh yeah.
Sloppy.
Sloppy football.
It's a par for the course for that.
And you cannot sell.
You know, I know Roma pass acements.
Whatever is pat one of his passing records.
Yeah.
You don't push Roy.
You can and Tony Romo in this same sentence.
I don't care who you are.
Yeah.
The only things they have in common is they both got money.
They both got money.
They both got money.
They they have names to begin with.
The letter letter T.
And they pulled quarterback to Dallas Cowboys.
And that's where the similarities pretty much end.
Yeah.
No, they both did a little in the night with country stars.
Yes.
Thank you.
Who did he do?
He did.
Laurie.
No.
Laurie Morgan for Troy Eggman.
Carrie Underwood for Tony Romo.
Was that really a thing?
That was a thing.
That was a real big time.
Big time man.
Oh, okay.
That's my new.
That's my new.
That's my new perfume commercial.
Sorry.
Man.
I was bogus.
Are you going to put on like a Brad Pitt here?
We're getting everything.
Well.
There's so many things I could say about this perfume.
But I let you try to just say.
Wow.
Hello, tangent.
St. Louis over Buffalo 15 to 12 Ryan pits Fitzpatrick 25 of 33 247 touchdown in the pick.
Apparently talks Vince young things.
He wants to go to Buffalo.
I thought that was Arizona.
No, I forgot.
Buffalo.
Oh.
The the Siberia of the NFL on multiple levels.
Why can't he just shut up and not every.
Because he's young.
Sure.
And he's anything but at this point.
Philadelphia beats my beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers fill 23 to 21.
Josh Freeman 14 of 34.
Knit falls 32 of 51 381 in two touchdown.
Tampa Bay has a pretty good running game.
I'm going to say through some passes in this game.
Carolina beats Atlanta.
30 to 20.
I don't know if you saw this.
They did a feature on on the sports center where they were going through the day for the NFC South.
And how this landings just changed every 30 minutes.
This is an interesting step for tomorrow's game.
Oh, we'll get to that here in a minute.
Oh, good.
More.
Other time in the last five games.
It doesn't mean anything.
Minnesota beat Chicago 21 14.
Jets over Jacksonville.
San Diego over Don's beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.
Indianapolis beats Tennessee 27 to 23.
And a game they should have won by a lot more than that.
Cleveland over Cincinnati 30 to seven.
Washington has to go to overtime.
But they do beat Baltimore 31 28 Robert Griffin the third 15 to 26 246 yards in a touchdown.
Still your rookie the year.
San Francisco beats up on my beloved Dolphin's 27 to 13.
Seattle.
I want to stop.
I want to come back to this.
I want to go and we're going to come back to this game.
The Giants over New Orleans 52 to 27.
I love it.
The proverbial wood shed showed up in giant stadium.
Green Bay over Detroit 27 to 20 in your Monday night game.
The Houston Texans.
Yeah.
Good night.
Thanks for coming by.
Did you guys even show up?
It because New England shows you the door 42 to 14.
When you run a 34 defense and you lose all of the four and your defense.
You're not the same team as what you were.
Well played sir.
Well played.
But I want to go back to Seattle.
Seattle beats Arizona 58 to nothing.
And when I first heard this, I'm like, is college still known?
Is that the University of Seattle being the Arizona Wildcats?
The Carol is, you know, he's going to go a little bit.
And then people were complaining.
I'm like, you know what?
If you've got a problem, stop them.
Yeah.
That was like Miami complaining about New England running the same play.
Oh, well, if you got a problem, stop it.
Arizona's running out there 17 string quarterback who just learned how to tie a shoes.
The other way.
I was wondering why I got a phone call from a Seattle number that night.
Yes, they were looking.
They said that would be to fly up and just play a couple of times.
I was like, are you kidding me?
Week 15, if you can believe it in the NFL Thursday night.
Boy, if you went to bed early on this game in the last five minutes of this game,
Cincinnati scores 23, 24 points.
Yeah, 24.
Yeah, 24 in the second half.
As they beat Philly 34 to 13.
Philly just literally dropped.
Did they even take the field in the second half of this game?
They had violent uniforms there.
That stood there.
Or was just like USC where they all switched numbers at half time?
Yeah.
Could you look more than far as you come?
Yeah, I mean.
They were just dreaming of getting home and playing mad.
They thought it was play round rolls.
It was just for hard.
You know, after four downs, you could turn over.
Yeah, well, they, I guess they'd already played for 60 minutes so they could stop.
It's in my contract.
I only played six tomorrow.
Indie is at Houston.
This, this could be one of the games to watch tomorrow because Houston limping after
their second loss of the year.
Indie trying to keep the wheels on the thing.
Yeah.
Denver is at Baltimore.
This could turn into a game as well.
Peyton Manning.
I have minute on this show.
I was wrong.
He's made it to week 15.
Uninjured.
If he says healthy, they may win at all.
I'm not going there yet.
Jacksonville at my beloved Dolphins.
If you need a nap, and this is your local game.
The battle for something.
Yeah.
The battle for two thirds of Florida.
I guess.
I don't know.
Washington at Cleveland.
Oh, this could get a clean.
Yeah.
Minnesota's at St. Louis tomorrow.
Tampa Bay.
My beloved Tampa Bay bucks at the New Orleans Saints to stay alive in the NFC South.
You know what's sad about the AFC?
What's that?
The Dolphins.
My beloved Dolphins.
If I live in eight.
Yeah.
They still have the number 12 supply in the AFC.
Wow.
God.
And if Cadel has his way, that's a playoff team.
Yeah.
He wants to expand the playoffs to 16 team.
No.
To 12 teams.
You watered down them.
That's a mistake.
That's a mistake.
But do you understand?
That's 24 teams.
That's two thirds of the lead in the playoffs.
Yeah.
That doesn't make any sense.
It turns into the NBA almost.
Way too much.
I just think there ought to be a rule in sports.
You can't be in any form of a postseason game if you aren't 500.
Yeah.
I agree.
And if you're not, we take somebody from another con.
Another division winner.
Like the NFC West.
If you're a division winner.
Yeah.
And you don't have a winning record.
We take the next record best record from one of the other divisions.
Well, didn't like four.
Five or six years ago, New England went.
I think 11 and five.
And they didn't make the playoffs.
Yeah.
That is ridiculous.
That was when Miami beat him into division.
Yeah.
Let's see.
The giants are at Atlanta.
That's going to be a good game to watch.
By the way, tomorrow is the last calendar day that you're going to have six games
or both teams have winning records.
Wow.
Of the year.
From here on out, you're not going to have that many games or both teams have one.
That's when Vegas just smiles.
I saw that on ESPN at the end of the day.
I'm not going to use that.
I have no idea why that's important.
But I'm going to use that on this show.
It's probably one of the first useful things I've heard of.
Green Bay at Chicago.
Vegas line on this right now.
Chicago's getting three and a half.
What?
Yep.
Wow.
Was that because Cutler is like his neck injury?
Is he playing?
Is he?
I haven't heard for sure.
I mean, there's only a game difference between them.
Seattle at Buffalo.
Ooh.
You thought 58 to nothing was bad.
I think they wouldn't be close.
The line on that's like plus five for Buffalo.
Oh, they're playing that interronto.
Yeah.
Is what Rust tells me.
Ooh.
That's where Buffalo is going to win.
Anyway.
Carolina at San Diego tomorrow.
That ought to be a pretty decent game.
Yeah.
Carolina.
Yep.
Okay.
Can't trust Phillip Rivers ahead.
Two good games in a row.
But again, this is December.
San Diego.
They're going to win all the four games.
Yeah.
They're going to stay where they are.
Detroit at Arizona.
Matchy dueling 49 records.
I don't know.
Megatron may have 250 yards receiving this game against Arizona.
Yeah.
But they're two and five on the road.
Arizona is at least 500 at home.
Kansas City at Oakland tomorrow.
A combined record of five and 21 for these two teams.
Another bar and burner or black there unless you want to go burn a barn.
Wow.
That's on the kill time.
Dallas hosting Pittsburgh tomorrow.
I know Don was trying to go to this game.
I don't know if he wound up with tickets or not.
He hadn't as of Monday at the screening.
Yeah.
The boys are saying he hadn't.
Oh, that doesn't mean he won't.
I just, I don't know if I.
I don't think I can go to this game.
It's going to be hard to watch.
Yeah.
Because the Cowboys are terrible.
Well, and Pittsburgh's been limping with key injuries.
The Rockers were supposed to play.
It'll be a bad love attrition.
Yeah.
Your night game tomorrow San Francisco at New England.
You had said something to me about this game three months ago.
I'd have been like.
Flex this game.
Yeah.
You're talking nine three and one versus ten and three.
Yeah.
San Francisco.
Four and two on the road New England.
Five and one at home.
Well, San Francisco.
Then you know, they have to have the best defensively.
I think.
And.
Brady still got a lot of.
Capernix.
Gamer.
Yeah.
He's doing all right.
He.
Bring your Monday night game.
The Jets at Tennessee.
What?
This is the worst possible time of year for the networks that not have new episodes of their show.
Exactly.
Because it would trample Monday night football.
Yes.
Unless you live in New Jersey or Nashville, you're not watching this game.
And even if you are a Nashville, I don't think you would watch.
I don't know if I'm even going to monitor this game online.
Yeah.
It's going to be interesting to see what the numbers are like for raw.
Because they're tails whip by Monday night football consistently.
This may be the first time that they actually win the evening.
Good point.
Good.
But you want me to tell you why I think Dallas is going to win this game.
Please do, sir.
Because for like the past three years, Pittsburgh's defense is just getting older and older.
And in the fourth quarter, they just lay down and die.
And in the fourth quarter, Dallas has been for the last year.
That's what they did.
Yeah.
Well, that's known because like my gators playing strictly fourth quarter football this year.
Yeah.
Well, when you're down 20, you have to throw the ball no matter what.
That's true.
All right.
Let's move on.
Do a little POI.
That time that perfectly.
Look at me.
Sometimes I look like I know what I'm doing.
POI person of inches is a segment on this show where we take a person or an entity and we debate their greatness or lack of their of the pendulum swings to me this week.
And I thought about today's POI as as Chad and his lovely wife who was a British descent and myself who are out doing a little Christmas shopping today.
By the way, for those of you are local, we went to the harbor at Rockwell today.
That was kind of fired a can into that place and not hit a soul.
Are you serious?
Ghost town.
It was like everybody brought their own car because the parking lot was full.
Wow.
But they almost have been packed into the restaurants because nobody was there.
And I mean, no, they were packed into the movie theater.
They were packed anywhere.
That's got to be what it was.
Everybody was seeing the hobbit.
I mean, that's the only thing I can figure because I'm telling you.
We went into like three or four shops.
And we, you know, tumble.
I could have started on the floor.
I could have started on the floor.
And it would have been just being Chad.
And we would have plenty of room.
Every place we went into had an echo.
Oh, there's so empty.
It's like cold stone cremary.
I don't, I think if we had gone in there,
I've had there been more people in there.
That girl would have been a lot more of a hurry than she was.
Yeah.
But she was like, hey, what do you want to try?
Would you try every favor if you want?
What do you want?
I mean, she was bored to tear.
Wow.
She just didn't just say how much it gave you for you.
Well, that wasn't as she was just given samples because Chad's wife,
who was approached to send.
Yeah.
Had never had anything like cold stone or marble slatter.
Or anything if it's ill for for.
So this was her first exposure to this,
style of eatery.
Have you ever seen Jill's when she eats something for the first time that she absolutely loves?
Yeah.
It's the eyes get all fluttery and they roll back in her head.
And she was in a different world.
Wow.
She got like there.
What was it there?
Their cheese cake.
It was like one of their signature creations.
It was a cheesecake ice cream with graham crackers and strawberries and blueberries.
And she went nuts.
She actually wanted to try to combine the cheesecake and the
birthday cake.
And I was like, that's too much.
You will put yourself into overloaded.
You might go into a coma.
But when I used to be able to have sugar, I love their birthday cake.
It's so good.
Yes.
I can't do real though.
I just kept it dry.
You just sponsored it.
We give way to any free plugs the way too many establishments.
You know what, then you never know unless you ask.
But anyway.
So we were out shopping today.
And one of the things that we had to go to something specific to get something for
my father-in-law for Christmas.
Because, and I'll have to take off the air just in case by some chance they're listening.
One of the things he asked for.
It was one of those is like, yeah, I can go find this.
No.
No, you can't.
You have to go to somewhere else to find it.
Other than where you would normally go.
Yeah.
And that one place I went to had four versions of it.
But we were shopping.
And Charo says we're making her want some sweet frog.
Oh, yeah.
It's like a yogurt place.
Okay.
It's right over there by freebirds.
Unlike is that some kind of a weird delicacy they serve at Razor.
Yeah.
It's a yogurt place.
Right over there by the freebirds by where she lived.
Sweet frog.
It's pretty good.
I have a good one.
It's unstable.
But we were at it.
We were at a place and we were doing some shopping.
And we were looking through DVDs and blue rays.
And one of the things I've developed a problem with.
Is the collectors edition.
How can something be a collector's edition?
If it's the only version of it available.
I mean, you can't release another version period after that.
No, no, no.
Then you have to get the ultimate collectors edition.
But my whole thing is don't have a collector's edition.
If you're not going to have a non collector's edition.
Because it's just like, this is the collector's edition.
Well, maybe because I know people that just, I just want to watch the movie.
It's all I care about.
Yeah.
Which in that case.
She just go buy the rental copy when Blockbuster marks it down to 10 bucks or whatever.
Sure.
Because see, that made me mad.
And they started doing that.
Because I'm a geek.
And I like to know things about the behind the scenes.
I like the things like the commentary track.
Yeah.
You know, speaking of which.
You didn't tell me about something that happened on comic bookman.
That somebody tried to sell to the store that I own.
Huh?
Three laser discs.
Oh, yeah.
So I'm going to ruin it.
This is the only way you can get the actual original trilogy.
And it's all of its glory digitally.
I'm like, I own those.
What are you?
He got like a five bucks for episode four.
Yeah.
And like, what was it?
He got challenged to a trivia.
Yeah.
And he was like, he like won the kids trivia contest.
It's a liberation one.
Yeah.
And I'm like, and the ones he were given, and we're pretty much softball questions.
And I'm like, you couldn't get that.
Did you just give him with all the platform away?
I was like, really dude.
I own those.
I don't have a player for him.
But I own those.
And he was selling the THX remasters.
He wasn't selling that box that was really nice.
The real good laser discs.
So I never saw that.
That's what I got the individual ones.
The THX remasters.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I own a version of the trilogy in every format.
I have it on the HS.
I have it on laser disc.
I have it on DVD.
And I have it on blue.
The best version on laser disc was in a box about that.
The only thing I'm missing is the beta.
What's the one thing I'm missing?
My, my view.
On the original point pretty much.
But this whole collector's edition thing.
It just annoys me.
That's what I do.
I know I'm going to just go for the DVD.
I don't want all this stuff.
Because I like having a special features.
And I don't mind having a collector's edition of something.
But make it really a collector's edition.
It's not a collector's edition unless it's got some kind of swag
with it in my opinion.
In this day and age.
It's got to have some kind of us.
But see, those are now Deluxe editions.
Well, but to me, that's what I consider a collector's edition.
I don't consider a DVD.
A collector's edition.
Can I tell you what I saw it best by today?
They're doing a Deluxe edition of Game of Thrones Season 1.
Really?
That comes with a Dragon Egg.
Oh, that's pretty awesome.
And like the covers like a felt like flag material of the, of the, the crests.
And I was like, that's awesome.
But it's only season one.
And it's like 85.
Oh, you could not do it.
You could not do it.
No, you can't do it.
I was like, if I had 85 bucks to burn.
Yeah.
Then yes.
And let's season two comes with like an actual Dragon.
That sits on the egg and hatches.
Another one.
No, the, the Dragon is sitting on the eggs to hatch.
No.
They had, you had to come out of the egg.
He hasn't seen it.
So he doesn't know it.
Oh.
Oh.
Shake.
Go watch.
Just go watch Game of Thrones.
Oh, I'm telling you.
He, allegedly, he has my password for HBO go.
So there's, and is there, is there not an HBO go app for the, for the Wii U?
I know there's one for the 360.
Yeah.
There's not one for the Wii U.
Really?
Go figure.
Yeah.
But here's my whole thing.
Just have the collector's edition.
If you have a standard edition.
That's all I'm asking.
I'm just glad that we no longer have a wide screen edition and a full screen edition of
DVD because I don't have people buy you a birthday present or Christmas present on DVD.
And you're like, I had to stop, I had to stop myself because I was going to say,
Nobody has the TVs that handle for three anymore.
And then I realized I have one in my bedroom.
I was like, I had to stop myself on that one.
I hated that.
And I mean, it would cause so much confusion for people that we're out.
Let's see what I used to manage a blockbuster video.
And I would see them confused.
I would just get them the full screen version.
Just watch this.
Why you'll be fine.
Yeah.
Because unless you're somebody who's geeky,
you don't understand the importance of having a wide screen version.
I think you may be the only person that would actually help someone too.
Because I want to advance myself with something like that.
I love doing that at Blockbuster where people would be like,
or when I worked at, when I worked at Incredible Universe.
Even though I worked in the DJ scene, I also helped out.
I would wander through the music scene to help them out every once in a while.
And I'll never forget a lady walked up to my register when I worked in the karaoke scene too.
And she wanted to buy something for her kid, for Christmas.
And her kid told her what the kid wanted.
And what the kid wanted was the single for 20 fingers short something, man.
Oh, boy.
Wow.
But they called it short, short man.
And she thought it literally meant one who is vertically challenged.
And I went, okay, I need you to stop for a minute.
How will your kid 12?
Okay, now we're going to stop.
And I want you to really think about what this song probably is about.
Since there's a picture of a ruler.
Not a yardstick, a ruler on the cover of this thing.
That woman turned white as a sheet of paper.
I'm like, here's an MTV party to go.
Buy this for your kid.
It's already mixed, you'll be fine.
It's just, I like how many people I was stuff like that.
Because I was all about getting people what I knew they needed.
Not necessarily what they think they wanted.
I'm still trying to wrap my hand around the fact that some 12-year-old boy wanted that annoying song playing on his role.
Well, much less given the subject matter of it.
I'm just, that's even more unstable.
But again, if you're going to do a collector's edition,
do a non-collector's edition.
And so you can make a claim that it is a collector's edition.
How many editions are there actually that are actually out there?
Of what?
Of just all DVDs, blue rays combined.
There's no way we could put it on.
No.
I mean, I think that, my problem is, like, James Bond, for example.
And we're going to talk about that here just a little while we do the movie talk.
How many different versions of those films have been released?
Oh, this is not the ultimate Uber.
You'll never get another better version of this film until two years from now when we release another one.
Yeah, I think the worst precedent that was set was never they had that ultimate edition of T2.
Yeah, which was, which came out about what 12 years ago.
And we've had about four editions.
No, that's the first one I remember having an Easter egg.
Was that T2 thing?
Well, yeah, well, pretty much anything that was done like in that, that,
Fox five star collection, because it was all done by the same guy.
The DVD producer, remember?
If I remember correctly, his name was Fan Link.
And I, he did the DVD.
I loved his early, early works like Brown on Girl.
Anyway.
Yeah.
He, hello honey.
Honey, I'm about to end my rope with you.
Trust kids.
Oh, there's plenty of rope. Trust me.
We always find another rock layer.
Have you ever played cut the road?
I am going to slap you in the face.
And the face.
And the face.
And the face.
And the face.
Next topic, please.
This is called me giving up.
Go ahead, sir.
No, no, seriously, please.
And finish your thought.
You just opened the door.
We just had to finish it.
Go ahead.
Finish your thought, please.
Van Link.
No, that's, that's where you left off.
He did the menus for the die hard films.
When they first got released in that, in the five star collection, did the independent
stay menus.
The abyss was a really good one.
Yes.
Those menus were cool.
Like if you found like the face hugger, hidden face hugger, you, it took it to the
trailer for aliens.
Oh, that's cool.
Uh, it was a Cameron's Fox film.
It wasn't one of the ones on the T2, where if you didn't punch the code and write
you and get out.
Uh, that was in the pinball game.
Yeah.
Which was still one of my favorite pinball games of all time.
Yeah.
That's pretty awesome.
Try to know.
Another one of them, which was five star collection.
Speed was in that five star collection.
Uh, but he was pretty much the mastermind behind that whole.
Really truly immersive interactive DVD menus that have become pretty much
the standard now.
I don't know who he's working for.
If he's even still in the business, but I hope he is because he was better
be getting residual.
Shit.
I would hope so.
I would like to find out what he's doing now.
What he's doing now.
Because it was pretty creative.
Anyway, that's my two cents.
I'm shutting up now.
That is P.O.I.
We do this.
You've got two weeks to think of one, sir.
Two weeks.
A P.O.I.
Yes.
Let's move on to music talk.
You're always in the clubhouse.
Make sure you visit our website.
www.theclubhousepodcast.com.
I'll be a while.
We'll be Van Link.
I'm just saying.
Make sure you like our face page.
Look up the clubhouse podcast.
Follow this show on Twitter at clubhouse show.
You can follow me on Twitter at yes that robber.
And that is spelled E RV.
I am at Chad N.P.G.69.
And I'm at King of Bowling.
Charlotte Barker on Pinterest.
Let's get into music talk because we've got some stuff to talk about
because you're 2013.
Rock and roll.
Music Hall of Fame.
Class and Ducctions have been announced.
Here's the first one.
And I just want to say for the record.
No pun intended.
Incredibly overdue.
As heart.
Ann and Nancy Wilson.
I heard an interview with Anne.
And she said.
You realize that for like the last decade.
This has been a running joke with us.
You know, some day when we get the rock and roll of fame.
Which will never happen.
Overdo.
First of all.
Ann Wilson.
One of the great female rock voices in the history of Ever.
By the way, Chad just let you know.
This album.
27 years old.
Odd.
Yeah.
1985 for the self title.
Oh, this was the album that was out whenever I saw the taping of solid gold.
And they were.
I haven't.
I haven't.
I haven't.
When Ray Parker Jr. and Marilyn McCoo were hosting.
I was.
You know, I speak in a witch.
I want to sidetrack for a minute.
The comedian Roy Wood Jr.
Yes.
I was listening to him.
He was a guest on the off the air with chick Mickey podcast.
Did you know his dad.
Was a soldier in danger?
No, no, no.
Even better.
His dad was a station manager in Chicago.
Where Don Cornelius worked.
And Don Cornelius pitched him to be a producer.
A investor in soul train.
So Roy Wood Sr. gave him a thousand dollars.
And then it got rejected.
Because if you know the story of soul train,
nobody wanted to carry it at first.
So he kept bugging Don Cornelius because he wanted this money back.
And so Don Cornelius gave him his thousand dollars back.
Never saw another baby because he is Don Cornelius.
He goes, so growing up, we weren't allowed to watch soul train.
Come on, Dad.
Cause you screwed up.
We got to watch solid gold.
But that wasn't the same.
I remember they were dancing to alone.
I'm sure I want to let you know that I'm Pinterest.
She's being invited to join other people's boards.
That's what they showed out.
Local celebrity.
That's all I'm saying.
All right.
Let's talk about some other people going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
What's kind of surprised this lady is not already in.
Well, I'm kind of surprised at heart.
It's not already in it either.
I can't hear this and not think of that Toby McWire sketchy that I'm sorry.
No, I was semi-donna.
Who is the queen of soul? Who is the queen of disco?
Donna Summer.
Say it to the way around.
Summer Donna.
Summa.
Da.
Na.
Okay.
Hmm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's right.
She passed away.
But you know what?
And.
Oh, absolutely.
Also getting in.
A guy that they make fun of on.
Family guy a little too much Randy Newman.
Those.
Those.
They know the clothes.
Pretty much the singing voice of all the Pixar films.
Albert King.
Greatness.
Lou Adler.
Greatness.
Yep.
And here's another one.
How is this guy not in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
That is welcome to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Quincy freaking Jones.
How is that?
I'm so pumped.
That.
Me.
That melted my brain.
I can't believe he's not already in.
And you're too head.
I guess you could call them your headwaters.
This is one.
Not Zach Wild.
He's already in, isn't he?
He's me.
No.
Is he not?
No, I think.
Not even with the eye.
Chuck the.
Terminate X.
The S1 W's.
And Flave of Flave.
Public enemy goes into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The most stable, except in the speech of the night.
I guarantee it will be the most disjointed, except in the speech of the night.
But you know what the thing about public enemy to me.
You talk about an absolute example of how opposites attract.
Because if you look at somebody like Flave of Flave.
And then you look at somebody like Chuck the.
Like those two should not ever be able to get along.
It's the Dean Martin with Dean Martin and Jerry lose a hip hop.
But when VH1 did their history of hip hop mini series.
And they got to these guys.
Chuck D.
Or words.
They said Flave of Flave.
Because Best Height Man Ever.
I can't debate him.
I really couldn't name you another Height Man in hip hop.
Well, two big MC.
But they know him.
I like him.
I like him.
I like him.
But who's he a Height Man for?
Hammer.
There you go.
You leave Hammer alone.
You leave Stanley Barrell alone.
I like Hammer.
I like him.
But Hammer don't need a Height Man.
But I'm I'm on board with this.
Oh God.
You talk about a group that looked against the rap straight in the face and said,
Let us show you how this really works.
Let us show you how you can be militant.
But not be violent.
Now we're going to throw some language out there every once in a while.
And we're going to encourage people to be vigilant.
But not violent.
Yeah.
Now I'm not granted.
They walked that line every day.
Because they were militant.
But not violent.
Charlie says the other day I grow up in the old lady where Hammer pants to work.
Come in back baby.
Come in back.
I mean, he's in my top three hip hop all time.
Shut the as a lyricist.
Oh yeah.
Amazing.
Yeah.
Just like the other two on my list are easy and too pop.
No baking as far as as far as just ice cube.
No baking.
No jz.
I said top three.
I'm just saying.
I mean, wow.
Yeah.
Because I would put.
I would put jz above easy.
From a lyrical standpoint.
Not a jz fan though.
Neither am I.
But also going in.
Again.
Could be the most overdue.
Yeah.
How are they not going?
They're getting so much exposure.
It's hard not to put them in.
Getty Lee.
Alex Leafson.
Meal fear.
I've seen them live twice.
And they're just as awesome now as they were 40 flipping years ago.
Hit the post and everything.
To catch that.
Look at this fool.
Stupid.
Stupid.
Rush.
I cannot wait.
For whoever does their induction.
Not even through their induction.
I just want to see who plays with them.
Public.
I mean.
What is he not?
What is he all star jam at the end of this thing?
Oh my god.
Like I said.
Like DVR now.
Or find a way to get to Cleveland to see this live.
I mean.
Congratulations to Rush.
They're also putting out their very first e-book.
After the new year.
That's going to be all about 2112.
That's cool.
That's going to have rare concert footage.
It's going to have full lyric sheets, demo versions of stuff.
It's going to be awesome from what I've heard.
If you're any form of a Rush fan, you won't need to pick this up.
Congratulations to those boys.
Because especially when your drummer is a god amongst men.
And I put Neil Peart from an abilities standpoint.
He's like the Tiger Woods of drumming.
Because you watch him and you go, I can do that.
I mean you realize, no, I can't do that.
Because if you watch Tiger Woods play golf, especially in his prime.
He makes it look so easy.
And then you go to the course and you're like, I can't do this.
You put me in front of a drum set in rock band.
And I'm not even able to keep it beat on beginner.
And even if you're not a Rush fan.
Go out to your local video store.
Or if available on Netflix or whatever you watch stuff.
It's probably available on Amazon.
Look up.
Rushes beyond the lightest stage.
Great documentary.
And they're awesome.
They're amazing.
Yo, yeah.
They were just here in Dallas a month ago.
They just came in.
Just released a brand new album.
I mean, they're that good.
I'm sure Doc is just delighted.
We'll see him tomorrow night.
By the way, join us tomorrow night.
Fox and Alan Richardson Texas.
Just west of Central Expressway on Campbell Road right behind the McDonald's.
Five bucks get you in the door for WWE TLC.
Which we're going to talk about here in just a little while.
And now we have a Viacone deos to do.
On Tuesday, we had the loss of one Ravi Shankar.
91 years old, 92 years old.
You probably know him best.
As the guy that George Harrison basically modeled himself after during the whole Eastern influences thing.
Well, there's another reason.
I know it best.
Master of the Sittar.
Not the Sittar hero because that's a different thing.
So they would have been a great consultant if that actually happened.
He was basically very like once George Harrison really met him and understood him.
They were almost inseparable.
He's the one that inspired George to do the concert for Bangladesh.
Now, if you are one of the younger kids.
Which is probably where you're going.
Sir.
Yes.
You would also know him as...
Go ahead, sir.
Do you have anything of this particular person to queue up at my entrance?
I can.
Okay.
I thought maybe you might have had it in the...
Because I figured you knew we were going to get to it.
He thought you know I've got at least one of her songs in here given that was played in my wedding.
Right.
He fathered a, you know, a local favorite.
Booker T. Washington High School University of North Texas.
Yes, sir.
This was the song that my, that the lovely and talented in every...
Mrs. Irvine 9 dance to it or wedding.
You recognize it, Andrew?
Yeah.
You knew this, right?
No.
This is Nora Jones' dad. Yes, sir.
What? Yes, sir.
Robbie Shankar is...
Come away with me.
Wow. Really? Yes.
Wow.
She's, she's told stories of being, you know, hanging out with the Beatles and stuff when she was a kid.
Wow.
Yeah.
Now, you know what, I'm going to blow your mind again, you ready?
You ready for me to blow your mind again?
Yeah.
We're talking about this by the way.
Vacuum DSU, sir.
You have to get an influence on the greatest rock band in the history of ever.
Absolutely.
If nothing else.
I only sky.
Wow.
You know who her dad is?
No.
Wait for it.
Wait for it.
You don't know this hermit.
The common man that we love.
Donovan is the father of our son.
Are you kidding me?
You're storing it.
Where have I been?
In a cave?
We have asked that question for years, sir.
But we're going to move on right now.
We're going to talk about the 12, 12, 12 concert.
Ah, yes.
Willie Acreman, yes. He passed away this week as well.
It's not making me feel any younger.
Is that melon acreman's father?
No.
Nicely fight though.
Um, buzzing.
It's not about the 12, 12, 12 concert.
You're the only, you've seen more footage in this room
than probably Andrew or I have.
I think none.
Did, uh, Russ said he thought it was very, very good.
I saw about a half an hour of it just because something
DVR during the time that it was on that wasn't what it said it was.
So when I saw, it was a 12, 12 concert.
I watched it.
And it was the real reason I wanted to watch it one of.
Uh, I wish I could have seen the Clapton performance.
Oh, God.
I heard it was amazing.
Oh, my God.
That man takes crossroads to a whole different level.
Yeah.
Oh, do I do like John Mayer's version of it, too?
Have you heard that?
But no.
Oh, you had to play.
Do you have it?
I know that you've played Clapton's version of it?
No.
Mayer's version of it.
Oh, mayer's version?
Uh, I think so.
No, no, no, no.
No, me.
I'm no mayer fan.
But if I got to hold on.
If I got to hold on.
I do have it.
Hold on.
Wait to you.
Here it is.
Crank it up.
And normally I've done a fan of remakes.
God, I love it.
And he's also playing with the stones tonight on the paperview concert.
Awesome.
I went down to the crossroads, fell down to all my knees.
I went down to the crossroads, fell down to all my knees.
Now, he won't be singing tonight because he has throat surgery.
He can't sing for like a year.
Yeah.
So funny.
I looked around this room.
Everybody's hands.
Dude, this.
I love this version of this song.
I gotta hand it to him up.
I'm shocked.
That's a sick, gross man.
That lower octave back up.
And such a fatteness to this song.
Yeah.
Ridiculous.
Hey, do you call me because I need you to listen to something for me.
I'm like, what?
He said, pull on.
I didn't even tell him what it was.
I just listened to this.
Really?
Oh.
Did tell him who it was.
And so I was like, as it played on.
So we're here in my office.
Yeah.
I'm back just don't.
Don't look at the iPod.
Just listen.
And I think she's like, I'm lucky.
This is John Mayer.
He's like, shut up.
There we go.
This guy does Stevie Ray Vaughn better than anybody else.
Since Stevie Ray Vaughn.
I know Johnny Lane tried.
Johnny Lane's good, though.
But he smokes Johnny Lane.
God, just kids can play now.
So let's talk about, you know, that was cool.
You had the pseudo beetle vana is what they called it.
Which was so, which is actually that song.
It's going to be featured on the soundtrack.
The Dave Girl's documentary about poop virus.
With McCartney on the meat.
Yeah.
Wow.
I thought the combination of him, nobody's shell like it.
McCartney was a little odd.
And then I remember like, you know, it's not a bad song.
But McCartney.
Probably one of my top three favorite McCartney songs of all time.
He played on 12, 12, 12.
And I got to say he seemed a lot more relaxed than he did at the Olympics.
He sounded a lot.
Well, but still.
He just sounded more relaxed.
He sounded like he was a lot more in his, in his groove this time.
And he was, this is one of my favorite McCartney songs ever.
It's called Let me Roll It.
He played this at the 12, 12, 12 concert.
I loved it.
I was so happy.
And I told you the surreal moment of the night for me from a Cartney set.
Uh-huh.
He opens his set with Helter Skeletor, which he did.
And I, as the song begins,
I see and hear fire trucks approaching by street.
A house next door to my mother's house is burning to the ground.
As Helter kills, Helter starts.
I was like, okay, that's just creepy.
Now they're saying that over 2 billion people worldwide watched this thing.
19 million in America alone.
Wow.
And then this, and it was funny because Chad texted me because you want to guess the only network
not carrying this special.
And I was like, Fox, he was no MTV.
And I was like, wow.
And I'm sure it would have something to do with the fact that Brian Williams was hosting
it song.
I'm assuming it was a venture by NBC Universal.
It was on their network of channels, I guess.
It was on sci-fi.
But you could get it three on John.
You could get on stream.
Well, it wasn't no longer G4.
Yeah.
No, you could get on light.
Not for much longer.
No.
Okay.
You could also listen to the radio was carrying it as well.
Because Tom Griswad of Bob and Thomas saying he was listening to it on the radio.
He was driving around.
Well, the top three moments from me, although I missed.
I missed the Floyd set, which bombed me out.
I'm just out of big voice.
And I missed Sandler's bit where he did his take on Halle Lillius song, which I heard
was hysterically funny.
Uh, but I turned it over there right whenever Bond Joly was doing living on a prayer.
Never been in big Bond Joly fan, but it was good.
That's something that's song.
Well, it's just, it's been beaten to death though.
But clapping came out after that and just blew my head across the roof.
Uh, the who, Daltreys kind of, he was, he sounded pretty, his vocal sounded pretty thin.
I like Daltreys.
I like him.
But during with three doors down right now, but that's a hell of a show.
I would pay, I would pay to see that show.
But Mr. William Joly.
It's my boy.
It's my leader.
Oh my god.
If you're is nothing on this, or there are very few songs of our era that I don't care how
many times I hear it.
Or you play when I think you're about to play.
The part that put a lump in everybody's throat in the building.
I mean, he did it.
Did you ever hear the version he did at the, the tribute to heroes thing that they did right
after 9.11.
But it was just him and the sax player.
Oh god.
Yeah.
There wasn't actually, I have that version.
Hold on.
There could not have been a dry eye out.
Where is going to do this one here?
Hold on.
I was, I had goosebumps everywhere.
This is from America, I tribute.
It was from the 9.11 thing.
The post I love the concept.
New York State of mind.
He actually wrote this as he was flying home from, from touring.
Some folks like to get away.
Sing it, son.
Take a holiday from the day.
If you close your eyes during this show on the 12th, you thought you were listening to a
William Joel.
Jackie Colliam.
Because I just can't call him Billy.
Neither could Chris, he wrinkly.
She actually called him Joe, because she said she could never take someone seriously
named Billy.
She only called him Joe.
You would have thought you were listening to a concert from the 80s.
He sounds so good.
That's what Liberty was there.
Liberty was playing with him on this.
I wish that had to fall on him.
Liberty still suited for unpaid revenue.
His old drummer.
Liberty defeat is one of the great drummers of our time.
But, of course, you know, Courtney Love has a complaint about McCartney playing.
So, Kurt was the worst shot out here, please.
Shut up.
The stones, they were the stones.
I didn't hear that mix had the moment of the night when he said, this is the largest
semblance of old English rock and rollers in the history of Madison Square Garden.
I think so the next time it rains in the London, you better bloody help us out.
I'm like, making always rains in London.
What is it going to do?
Big, it's happening right now.
Asked my wife, she'll tell you.
It's never not rain.
And Kanye, let's set the better now.
Moving on from him.
They're going to be releasing.
They're already taking pre-orders and it's selling like hotcakes on iTunes.
It's going to be 24 tracks, but I don't know if it's going to be everything.
I want the blue ray.
The heck with the album, I just want the blue ray.
I just want to sit down and watch the whole thing.
Did you ever get to watch the live at Shastadium?
The Billy Joe when he did the last concert at Shastadium?
Yeah, watch it over here.
Did they ever do any of those?
How many times did he and Elton do their bit together?
It was three tours.
And they never released them on home video of anything.
Not that I'm aware.
I got the audio from the show in Japan, but I don't know that they ever released it.
I think I've faced the face, you did.
But I don't think they ever released face to face on any form of home video.
That's a shame.
I can look at it for you.
I have the internet.
Go figure.
If they haven't, they should.
But if they haven't, by now, I doubt that it's over there.
But unless they do it again.
I kept waiting for Elton to come walking out at something.
That's it.
Well, we got an old British realization.
There is a DVD from the PNM in live in Tokyo.
Really?
Wow.
I don't see a blue ray.
How much is it?
Uh, 1536 on Amazon right now.
It's only 12 in stock right now.
And that's with the both of it.
That's what it says.
Wow.
Oh.
Okay.
Add two cart.
Add two cart.
And then you can buy that.
You can buy the two or program for about nine bucks on Amazon right now.
But Elton John and Billy Joel, the PNM and live in Tokyo.
November's came out November 6th of this year.
It just came out.
So it says November 6th, 2012, 1536 on DVD.
And it's just a deal.
Thank you, Amazon.
Wow.
Wow.
But you know what that Michael Jackson did.
From when it was done, though, you never know.
Yeah.
When that Michael Jackson show came out the bad tour from from 88.
Wembley.
It's only on DVD.
They didn't do a blue ray of that either.
Okay.
Let's move on a little bit because I want to talk about another milestone that's coming up
Uh, about the band that this band is covering.
But by the way, this CD that I'm playing this from right now.
If you don't own this, go do yourself a solid.
I don't know if you have a copy of this.
It's called Legacy.
It's only the second time in history.
An album has been covered.
This is done in the same order as Fleetwood Max rumors.
This is the core is doing dream.
There's no pick.
Chuck it.
That's right here.
I love this version of this.
Just stripped it down.
You're going to add a little bit of bass right here.
It's on your right.
Nice.
I'm going to add a little bit more.
Kind of live another layer on top of it.
It's very subtle.
Very just loved the way they did this.
Go, but if you don't have this, go get it.
It's called Legacy.
Uh, tonics on here.
Elton John does don't stop.
Um, sister Hazel doesn't, uh, gold dust woman.
It's really, jewel does you make love and fun, but she doesn't like as a ballad.
It's really well done.
Really.
But this comes from rumors.
Fleetwood Mack is going to reissue rumors because we're creeping up on it's 35th anniversary.
Uh, it's going to be a three disc set.
The first disc is going to be the album remastered.
The second disc will be uh, selections from the rumors two or in 1977, the live cuts.
Yeah.
And then the third album is going to be all outtakes and demos from when they were recording it.
This is a purchase.
This is a purchase.
This is a purchase.
Yeah.
And half three.
One of the great, probably one of the top 100 greatest rock and roll albums ever.
And Fleetwood Mack.
They're on.
They're going to be touring for this.
They'll be here in Dallas and June.
But silmo christemic bay.
And so to me, it's not Fleetwood Mack.
So you have all of them together.
I think christian just doesn't want to do it.
She just doesn't.
I mean, I don't blame her.
Yeah.
It's the 35th anniversary.
Yeah.
Oh, she was beautiful.
She was beautiful.
She was beautiful.
Steve and X got a little weird.
Still is New releases.
This coming Tuesday.
Angels in airways, which is abandoned to kids with a closed in the air, like also a Christian
Banda is on our recently.
An album called Stomping the Phantom Breakpedal, which is like the title of that.
Which is what every parent goes through when their kids taking drivers in.
And will it will be a, a two-nisk set.
Another passing that we forgot to talk about Jenny Rivera, very popular Spaniard.
I was very close to her.
Apparently, I don't know if this was scheduled or not, but she releases an album.
This coming Tuesday called La Mísma Gronsin Yota.
It's like how I did that, you rolled it.
Yeah, that was beautiful.
And then a brand new album from this guy.
Ah, they can do whatever he likes.
Apparently, though, you can do whatever you like.
That's what he's letting you know.
Oh, thank you.
Did you have your weird Alz version of this?
No, I have it.
I think I have it here.
What's on?
Chats now called the sleep.
Chats.
Hey Chad, do you want to say this?
I don't got to see nothing, but...
Okay, hold on.
I'm trying to find it.
If I can remember where it is.
Just trying to move a little bit more on this way.
Here it is.
I want you to hear a little bit of weird Alz version of it, because it's about the economy.
This is just a listen.
This is a safe slice of pie.
Cool, but all night, maybe you can have whatever you like.
That's cheap.
That's fluffy.
This is great.
That's great.
Yes.
Alpocalypse.
Great.
But he, T.I. releases trouble man, heavy as the head, and the dream releases Terious
Nash 1977.
I have no idea what that is.
But I like...
What I give the dream created for was the name of his first album.
Love me tonight, hate me tomorrow.
Love that title.
Just speak truth.
Let's go on campus just for a minute.
The Big East.
Having some problems in the post-fall era.
As they have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 schools that are not football schools.
They want out of the Big East.
They want to form their own conference.
They are St. John's Georgetown Market to Paul Seaton Hall Providence in Villanova.
These are all basketball schools.
Yes.
They out there.
That's why they want out.
I have no problem with that.
I don't know why they're crying about it.
If you're the Big East, you don't let this happen.
Because after this episode, the revenue...
You think about...
Well, you think about these seven schools from a basketball standpoint?
God.
St. John's.
They're in the hunt every year.
Georgetown is getting better again.
Yeah.
Market to Wayne Wade.
Yeah, exactly.
DePaul Seaton Hall always in the hunt every year.
Yeah.
Come on.
There are no brackets every year too.
Yeah.
But I think the problem is you create if you take these seven teams and create their own conference.
It's like football in the SEC.
Yeah.
You're not all seven getting in.
That's right.
So my philosophy is staying the Big East.
You've got a better shot of everybody getting into the tournament.
That's true.
But you're still not going to beat the Big teams.
But the Big East is also getting Boise State in the next couple of years.
Yeah.
I don't like the whole football only conference thing now.
Or basketball only conference thing.
You're blind to a conference.
You belong to a conference.
Yeah.
Shut your whole and get in.
You know what I'm saying?
I guess that's what makes it.
What it is.
Why they're so good.
I guess.
I don't know.
I wasn't going to give you ball updates.
Let's just tell you who won today.
Because I've already powered out.
There were two.
There is the famous Idaho potato bowl.
I know played today.
Normal.
Makes me hungry.
Oh yeah.
We had a pretty big one.
New Mexico bowl.
And the new Mexico bowl.
I played in Alba Kaiji.
Alba Kaiji.
Dad.
I'm shaking.
Walking away from there.
Yeah.
I took a wrong turn in Alba Kaiji.
Arizona beats Nevada by a point.
In the new Mexico.
49.
48.
Wow.
Arizona scores 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Wow.
To win by a point.
Wow.
Wow.
We were watching it lunch and I'm like I think I took Arizona in this game.
And I am in so much trouble.
Yeah.
And that team will all be drafted by the Cowboys.
42.
42 of the 49 points happened in the second and fourth quarter.
That's for Arizona.
I heard Arizona didn't show up until like the second half.
I guess not.
Of the fourth quarter.
Yeah.
In the famous Idaho potato bowl.
Utah State.
Over Toledo.
And a nail biter 41 to 15.
I believe I took Utah State in that one.
Yeah.
Thank you.
That's a pretty sure.
But I'll update our Facebook page with those as we go.
More bull games coming up.
Next.
Next Thursday.
In the point set a bowl.
It's not the point set a bowl.
So let's get that out there right now.
It's the point set a bowl.
What about point set?
No.
It's in California, which is the same Mexico bill.
No.
The points will set.
BYU and San Diego State Thursday night at eight o'clock Eastern.
You ought to be slap for that.
What?
It's set.
We're the only ones laughing at the bad puns on the show.
Okay.
Okay.
I'm trying to earn my stripes.
Give me a steel chair.
I'll put some stripes across your back.
You're the five.
Plank.
Let us move on.
And by the way, this show is your one stop shopper.
All things sports and entertainment.
So we have to take a segment on the show and combine the two.
And do a little bit of wrestling talk.
Very little bit.
We got him.
It's just one thing.
It's paper view weekend.
So all of our headlines were actually going to save for tomorrow night.
Because that way, because the thing is, TLC is not a very old paper view.
So we don't have a lot to talk about historically.
So we've got to fill an hour somehow some way.
Everybody in this room will be there as far as I know, right?
Gentlemen, we have a couple of guests in the studio tonight.
Russ and Jeremy said they're both going to be there.
Andrew.
Yep.
Andrew will be there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He checks it on Twitter with us.
You need to become a user on use stream.
So you can get in the chat room live.
Doesn't cost you a penny.
Join our crowd.
The crowds almost 70 strong now.
Tell everybody you know.
As Cody used to say, this is a grass roots campaign.
Don't cost don't want to.
Yes.
What a mouth.
But we're going to do it.
We're going to do the headlines tomorrow.
We've got a few things to talk about on tomorrow night's show.
It's going to be.
You can't make it there in person.
We'll be live on the air at 7 o'clock Eastern 4 o'clock Pacific.
Getting you prepared for TLC.
And if you are local, me does it box and now as long as the afternoon game doesn't run long.
How much are playing early, aren't they?
They're playing three.
Oh, the cow is playing three.
What about what about Cleveland?
Cleveland plays it new.
So I think we'll be okay.
Go train Richardson.
He's in your fantasy team.
Yeah.
Okay.
What team's name?
Woodford Reserves.
You can just call him the Kings of Bowling.
Oh, I have a big earning McCrack and that's my avatar.
And his hair is all crazy.
That's a little unstable fantasy football team name I've ever heard.
It was on Bob and Tom.
What?
The Jackson Four.
They lived on that for days.
I mean, days.
There's a couple more, but I'm not going to say them on this show.
I want to start with raw.
They start with that fatal four way for the team that would face Rey Mysterio and
Sincara to Marna and TLC.
Did that match absolutely kill the room or was it just me?
There couldn't have been ten people that cared about that match.
I don't even know, like, how did the cameras say focused?
Like, because they were the headphones and they hear me up.
Oh, yeah.
I don't know.
That's true.
I'll tell you what's driving me nuts though is when everything breaks down in the ring
and they're moving the camera.
Like, it's the Blair Witch Project.
Oh, that's so annoying.
It makes my head hurt.
And there's not much in there to begin with.
I don't want to damage what's there.
It ends.
It's worse.
It's worse.
No.
I fully admit that I'm more on.
Don't get me wrong.
And what was with Cody Rhodes in this mustache?
I thought he just ate a fudge sickle or something.
Didn't.
Is he trying to be carry out ways and princess Friday?
What's going on?
Maybe he's trying to be like, um, Derek Holland.
Like he started a two-man thing.
And the sad part is that mustache got the biggest pop of the match.
When they're starting to chant Cody's mustache.
They did it on SmackDown, too.
It's not as wrestling a bit like that.
That's true.
Not necessarily good at that.
I think he's got, I think he's got skills.
He doesn't have the charisma of the dead.
I, they've got to turn him face for a while.
He'll Cody Rhodes is just, it just doesn't work.
Yeah.
I'm just saying.
But you know, and just further proof that Vince hates tag teams.
Because we're going to continue to bury the prime time players.
We're going to continue to bury the usos.
Why don't I, don't get it.
Don't get it.
Don't get it.
Team health team, how now?
Heck no.
No, they're hell no.
I could be hell no.
I'd say that.
But I'll tell you what.
They did bust open Cain's lip, though.
Because if you saw Cain on SmackDown, he had that huge gash right on the top of his head.
Oh.
I wonder if he works a little hard.
We'll stick with him on next mad.
And even better.
Not only do we get this slammy next week.
We get a three hour slammy next week.
Can't wait.
Not to watch that.
Oh.
Oh, exactly.
And that's your phone.
To the paper view.
We couldn't do that as the Christmas Eve show.
So nobody has to work his hard.
I think two bro girls comes on Monday too.
If you want to watch something.
That girl's, that girl's hotter.
George.
I have a lot to say.
Yes sir.
Hello.
She's not my Britney Palmer.
No.
But she's on the ballpark.
Yeah.
She's sitting in the stands.
She's in the ballpark.
But.
So what Britney Palmer foot up a Christmas picture the other day.
And I was.
I was a little weak.
Merry Christmas.
Hello.
She's so gorgeous.
That is that kids is what we call an unhealthy crush.
Um.
Her and Lisa low.
Or my unhealthy crush is in this life.
Who's Lisa low?
The girl that you use.
I'm here with.
Oh.
I'm also a local.
Yeah.
She went to Ursula Academy.
Which is a local private girl school.
Dude.
I've had an unhealthy crush on that woman for almost 20 years.
You're lovely wife.
Who is on British descent says that Cody Rhodes looks like a PIMP.
She actually put this put the abbreviation points between the letters.
Okay.
Yes.
She listened into fitting any other room.
Let's go in on there.
That's not the one I was looking for.
Okay.
That is definitely the droid I'm looking for.
I'm sorry.
The iPod Touch.
Holy Mackerel.
Sorry.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Jesus.
And we also had the return of the social media ambassadors this Monday.
All right.
And it was the muppets.
Because I believe the muppets are tweeting.
Someone's pulling the strings.
I don't know.
I did see.
Did you watch this Saturday night live Christmas special?
That they did a couple weeks ago.
The two hour deal.
No.
It was a bit I'd forgotten about.
It was Kermit.
Singing Christmas songs with De Niro.
It's going to work this up.
And it was really De Niro.
It really goes really Kermit.
And I think it was heavier self of Mary little Christmas or something like that.
And De Niro like botches the lyrics when he starts singing.
It's genius.
On purpose.
I don't know if he did that purpose.
But he almost lost the whole song because he almost started laughing.
I didn't even talk to the point in the box.
Oh, it's just go y'all.
Timberlake.
What a Grammy for him.
But you know, I want to say something about Dolph Ziggler for just a moment.
Because he did commentary during John Cena's match.
When Dolph Ziggler is not being Dolph Ziggler.
And when he was just doing commentary.
Yeah.
I was impressed.
Really?
I was very impressed with his skills behind the table.
You know, he did the whole, you know, given John Cena props.
But I'm still going to win on Sunday kind of a thing.
But when he's not being Dolph Ziggler.
I thought he did a great job.
Do you think Vicki holds him back?
Being creative.
Being creative.
Yeah.
But I think part of the problem with Ziggler.
He's not a guy that unfortunately as much as I like him.
Yeah.
I don't know if he's a guy.
I would put the bell tower.
Because I don't know that he's a guy that can carry my company.
I don't think so.
Especially if he's a face.
They're looking at putting the belt on him for an extended period of time.
Why?
What's happening with seeing him?
No.
The world title.
No.
Because remember, he's got the SmackDown money in the bank for you.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah.
But they're saying that they're waiting for Orton to finish this movie.
This 12 rounds remake that they're doing.
It's a remake.
Well, it's a sequel.
But it's the exact same story.
The only difference is seeing it was a copy.
He's a paramedic.
That's the only difference.
It's the same exact story.
That's really hard.
But what's going to happen is he's going to cash in just in time for Orton to come back.
And that's going to be the feud.
Well, if you're going to do that, you're going to have to turn him face.
You're going to turn the color face, which we're going to talk.
What's one of the topics we're going to talk about tomorrow night.
Because with this whole thing about Randy wanting to go back face,
there's somebody's name that's been brought up to turn face.
If they're going to turn Randy heel.
I read this headline and went,
I don't know if I'm okay with this.
I'm going to package that.
Yeah.
I'm talking about show up tomorrow night.
Yeah.
But there's somebody that they're looking to turn face.
So they can turn Randy Orton heel.
So it's just going to kind of even exchange.
That's.
And Chad already knows who I'm talking about.
Yeah.
Because we talked about this in pre-show.
Said vicious.
I don't want to see him in a ring again.
Big fan Vader.
I'm very intrigued.
I don't know if I'm in is intrigued the right word.
Or just curious.
I don't know how this is going to work.
I'm just curious if they're going to be able to pull it off.
Yeah.
I go ahead.
I'm sorry.
I'm wondering what creative has up their sleeve.
They're even.
It's going to be if they actually do this.
It's going to be very, very interesting.
Catch it.
And I will say this moment of the night for raw.
And I don't know Chad if you made it all the way through.
I did.
At the end when ride back Randy the ring and he picked up the ladder and he threw it and he hit all three
of the members of the shield at the same time with the ladder.
Back to the beach.
He threw it through it horizontally.
And all three of them were standing in the ring and it hit all three of them at the same time.
It was a three thing.
Yeah.
This is kind of cool.
It was a WWE three-stooge moment.
Yeah.
And it was kind of...
And you know what?
The shield thing.
I'm starting to buy a little bit more.
I'm starting to buy a little bit more.
We'll save talking about that for tomorrow night.
Let's talk impact.
I tried watching this night for the other day.
Props to today.
He actually mentioned.
Jeff's WWE title run.
Wow.
He mentioned it by name.
Former WWE champion.
Oh, shenanigans going on back stage between the companies.
Still think Hogan's a mole.
Ah, you could be right.
And there's going to be more news about Jeff Hardy tomorrow night as well.
Some Jeff Hardy.
You know him.
He's been on TV a couple of times.
He's just a lot.
He's the guy that needs to stop with the face thing.
Yeah.
And he and James Stormworn attack match together.
And I don't know.
Maybe I'm the only one that noticed this.
And I don't know if he did it on purpose.
Or if it was just he threw something up there.
If you go back and you watch that match at the end of the match.
Or they're declared the winners.
And I swear he did this.
Storm threw this up at the camera.
No way.
Which is Matt Hardy's version.
One hand signal.
Are you kidding me?
Oh, I don't know if he just did that.
It's just kind of a other or the winners.
But it was it was the version one.
It was the Matt Hardy.
Which I thought was really weird.
I was like, huh.
Because Lord knows.
Matt's making all kinds of money.
And the indie circuit.
Oh, I'm dollars or night.
AJ comes out and cuts a promo about he's sick of being the guy that's the janitor for the company and clean up the company's messes.
And it's no longer about impact.
It's now about me.
And people were cheering him on.
And I kind of wanted to go memo to the people in the impact zone.
You're cheering someone that's about to turn he all.
Yeah.
Because that's what a heel promo is.
It's not about this company.
It's about me.
Yeah.
Well, the people in the audience there are just people trying to get in from it being, you know, like you say, the hot out.
Yeah.
All you got to do is pay to get in the universal studios through their own Thursday.
They have no idea who those people are.
Um.
I just don't like heel AJ.
AJ sounds as a heel doesn't do anything for me.
When will he ever go to the WWE?
And he won't now.
It's past a point.
Uh, but here's my thing.
When you have a storyline like Aces and Aates.
Pretty much if you're not Aces and Aates, you unless you're somebody that's overheal like in Austin
Aries.
But even they had him do dealings with them at final resolution.
Yeah.
Being a heel and a, I mean, I gotta give you the knockouts.
But it doesn't make sense.
It's, it was like WCW when you had the NWO rolling.
Yes.
If you were a heel and WCW at that point, it didn't matter because the NWO were the heels.
Period.
Yeah.
So it was almost like you had to turn everybody base just to get things working right.
Yeah.
But Aries is an Aates or they, they really over and are they the cool people in the company?
No.
No.
It's not like they're, they're, they're true heels.
Okay.
They haven't become the, the guys that are so bad they're good.
Okay.
It's, it's a bad angle.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because we all know the end game.
Exactly.
And I don't agree with what the end game schedule to be.
But if they wanted to have their product into the ground, let's have it.
Yeah.
We need to unmask more of these guys.
But, but TNA is saying this thing's going to go at least in their six months.
Do you think there's some WWE creative behind this TNA?
Why the, I was doing them in Yoken.
Oogens sent their by events to destroyed from the inside out.
Kenny King who's getting a little bit of a push.
I thought it was interesting because they're not doing the thing on impact that WWE does or they show their Twitter handles and stuff.
Kenny King's Twitter handle is still from his old tag team in ROH.
The all night express.
Oh wow.
Nice.
And I'm kind of surprised because if you know anything about that story, he was on a handshake deal with ROH.
Really?
and they were under the full impression
that he was there long term
and TNA offered him this gig
and he went out piece.
And he was happy to tag team champions
when he did as part of the online express
with Brett Titus.
Have people not learn that handshake deals
or just TNA lives on it?
Wow, a TNA, because they know
that's the only way they're gonna keep staying around.
Yeah.
You shake his hand every January
and you've got him until the next January.
That's the way sting works.
Yeah.
Now, they are saying if you've been seeing
the promos on impact of this one, three, 13,
like they will all pay in vengeance.
They're saying that's the return of sting.
I, to me, it looks like a bis.
Yeah.
But I don't know.
And Bowley Ray,
because we're still going to continue on
with this angle with him and Brooke Hogan.
If you go back and you watch impact,
there's a segment where Bubba goes into Hogan's office.
The greatest promo of Bubba Ray's career.
Really?
Wow, that's the segment for a moment.
For about a 30 seconds time span,
I was completely engrossed.
Like, they had me.
Really?
Because it's Hogan and it's bully Ray face the face
talking about the whole Brooke situation.
And at one point, Hogan calls him Mark
at one point, he calls Hogan Terry.
Like, you really, you could put it in that segment.
You could put a such an a bis believe it.
If you can do that for two hours,
you've got a product.
Well, you have to start somewhere in 30 seconds
is a fair amount of time.
But go back, go back and watch that segment.
It happens in a, right, I think it's in a last half an hour
somewhere.
Okay.
But great segment probably the best promo he has ever cut ever.
I, I didn't like the bully Ray thing at first
because him, this bully character is a heel sucks.
But with him tweening like this
and they're kind of letting him be a little bit more
of himself.
Yeah.
It's a much better version of this.
I'm on board if it works.
Congratulations to this guy.
Really good.
Finally realizing that life in the wilderness
is not all that it's cracked up to be.
He's now joined NXT.
He's going to be a trainer in development for WWE.
Good.
And this is a guy that's got skills.
You know, I didn't agree with his bit there at the end
of his WWE career.
That was a little doc's favorite theme song.
Yeah.
Tell me, tell me, I'm wrong.
He loves that theme song.
Yes, he does.
But, you know what, congratulations to him.
You know, on a shoot interview,
I think done by our video, he said he actually wanted
to work with young talent.
Was that the one where they ripped Triple H and new one?
No, it was him.
He was him by itself.
Oh, I think I haven't somewhere.
I have to find it when you borrow it.
Nothing really to talk about it smack now.
Like smack down was horrible last night.
Yeah.
There was nothing on smack down that maybe go, oh,
that was interesting.
Except the fact that JBL used an undraved
but jelly reference really.
And Chad and I were like, two percent of this audience
knows who that is.
And the other nine years are going, Ooshie.
No, it's a heat blood.
It's a heat.
And unlike Charlie Daniels, he is bald.
That was a big deal on Bob and Thomas today.
They were there.
They were saying that Charlie Daniels had been blind.
So it's perfect.
It was a bit that shouldn't have gone on as long as it did.
But the fact that it did was funny.
Yeah.
Because they had like fake collar.
It's going, no, just don't see it in.
Because they know it just announced that Charlie Daniels was blind.
But he has it.
By the way, Charlie Daniels has a new Christmas album now.
Is it good?
I haven't heard, I've heard of like one snippet of one song.
Anyone seen it because when I think Christmas music,
I think the Charlie Daniels thing.
I think it brought Stewart.
Oh, he's got to go and out, too.
His career's over.
Wait, that could, when you can do three hours of three albums
of cover songs and still sell a million copies,
what else do you have to do?
Let's be honest.
Yeah.
You know, the guy fathered a child at 450 years old.
What else does he have to do?
His social security number is five.
OK.
That's all I'm saying.
People want to know where the arc of the covenant is.
He uses it as a coffee table.
That's all I'm saying.
How awesome whenever you have someone
use it as a coffee table.
He uses the grail as his coffee cup.
Could I have a little bit more coffee in this any game?
Red grail?
Oh, Chez, wisely.
Is that my spoon in the train?
Oh, I'm so sorry.
I have some more.
Let's move on to some movie talk.
Put the point.
How does this become all over twist all of a sudden?
I felt like making a voice.
One of the one engineer head decided to come out.
I got to get a call up the website here.
Because I know I can, I know it drives you crazy, it's too easy.
Box office numbers.
Remember we don't give you last week in the box office numbers
because that news is old.
We give you last night's box office numbers dropping out of the top 10 this week.
Hitchcock already out of the top 10.
Killing them softly already out of the top 10 and flight drops out of the top 10 this
week.
10 place $588,000 for a 29 day total of 15 and a half million dollars for silver
linings playbook.
I want to see this movie, Bradley Cooper, who I'm a fan of, DeNiro plays his dad.
Come on.
Jennifer Lawrence, how you doing?
And Chris Tucker.
Chris Tucker finally.
And it's getting amazing reviews.
People are talking Oscar buzz for this film.
I want to see this for who?
For Bradley Cooper for sure.
And some people are talking about his picture.
Really?
A lot of buzz.
I think it's good.
Didn't get nominated for Golden Glove for a best picture.
I think so.
Number nine.
Still many musical.
Yeah.
Number nine.
Still on the top 10.
Six hundred and ninety eight thousand dollars last time for a 24 day total of
$139.2 million dollars for Red Dawn for comedy or musical.
That musical.
Right.
Yeah.
With the Golden Glove.
There's two separate best pictures.
Drama.
Drama.
And then you have comedy or musical.
It's the foreign prize.
Musical.
Number eight.
Making $72,000 last night for a 43 day total of $166.2 million dollars for
record Ralph.
Still getting done.
I'm a fan.
By the way, they're now saying Tron 3 will be the Empire Strikes back in the series.
Why do we have to keep making that comparison stuff?
Number seven.
One million dollars for an eight day total of $8.6 million dollars for playing
for keeps.
A lot of guys not getting dragged to the theater apparently.
God.
Number six.
One point four million dollars for a 24 day total of $65.6 million dollars for a movie
that Dawn cannot say enough good things about the life of pie.
Also nominated for a Golden Glove indeed.
Number five.
Dropping to number five with $1.475 million dollars for a 29 day total of 273.2 million
dollars for the Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2.
Please go a little snooze best.
Please go away.
Number four.
$1.5 million for a 24 day total of $65.5 million for rise of the Guardians.
I think this has a spike next weekend.
You're probably right.
I don't think we have another animated feature coming up before the end of the year.
Adam Baldwin is Santa.
What does he do now?
Yeah.
You mean I look at him.
Adam Baldwin is a whole different person.
Alec Baldwin.
Great TV show.
Two minutes over now.
Chuck.
Oh.
Dude love that, Chuck.
I was looking at that on the Blue Ray today.
What a great finale.
One of the great finale.
It was.
Bronze Medal $1.9 million for a 36 day total of 267.2 million dollars for skyfall.
Getting it done, James.
Getting it done.
Has everybody in the room seen it?
Go after you leave the studio.
It's wonderful.
You will not be disappointed.
Great film.
Don't wait that long.
Go now.
You go now.
See what I'm doing because I didn't get to.
Good luck with that.
I'm looking for silver medal.
$1.9 million for a 36 day total of 102.6 million dollars for Lincoln.
Wow.
Did we say last week on the budget for that film was like $53 million.
And so it's already doubled its budget.
Yeah.
Especially with that cast with that logo budget.
No kidding.
You get Sally Field and Daniel Day Lewis and Spielberg.
And Tommy Lee Jones ain't no slouch either.
Why are you in my civil war?
And winning last night.
Tulsa opening to the surprise of no one.
Absolutely.
37.5 million dollars last night.
Opening for the Hobbit.
Seeing it.
I have seen it.
I know.
I know.
You've seen it.
I know.
You know I've seen it.
But somebody got to go to the press screening Monday night.
I know.
Oh yeah.
Somebody didn't meet.
I know.
It was a Chadwick.
You never responded to my text to that city with that.
Well, Lanski had just slithered in the door.
That was teaching.
I was teaching when you didn't.
But he didn't arrive the review for the observer.
Somebody else did.
Some people were.
Because he's a D-lord.
I did not.
But a lot of people have a problem with the with the high frame rate.
He was with him.
I don't.
I didn't have that problem.
So wasn't that good?
No.
I'm saying a lot of people had a problem with the high frame rate.
Yeah.
That it has that for some people.
Maybe.
And they told us it was the high frame rate 3D version that we saw.
How high was the frame rate?
Well, there's.
They're saying they didn't have it.
It processes images more like the way we see it in real life.
Okay.
So like a lot of people refer to it as the soap opera look.
Like, okay.
Like how we like.
Like how we look in this room.
We don't look like we're for me.
I always thought there was something shot on video as opposed to it being shot on film.
And you get this video quality to it.
Because it shot on high definition video at 48 frames per second.
Whereas most things are shot at 24 frames per second.
And it puts a lot of people off.
They said it looks like more like we're watching a behind the scenes documentary about the making of the Hobbit rather than watching the Hobbit itself.
Is it like the first time you watched something in HD?
I thought it was, but it wasn't off putting to me.
It was just so clear.
That was a digital 3 digital 3.
I would assume so.
I mean, I'm just asking because I don't know.
It was a beautiful presentation.
It was very well done.
It didn't seem like 245.
The first 30 45 minutes of it will because it's again.
It's kind of like skyfall.
It's all set.
Get through the first act.
Yeah.
But even then the first act is still entertaining because they dovetail a lot of what happened at the beginning of fellowship into like you literally see.
I mean, Elijah's in this one.
And it shows him going off to meet Gandalf that sets up the beginning of fellowship.
So he starts telling the story to him.
Yeah.
And we pan around in there.
He is as young herself smoking his little, you know, pipe waiting for Gandalf to, you know.
At this point, he doesn't even know who that Gandalf is.
Frot of, uh, a bill bill vote doesn't know who he is.
And, uh, it feels like you just got done watching.
Lower the rings and we just put another disc in and here we go with the Hobbit.
It doesn't feel like it's been 10 years.
Well, I hope that 37 million 13 million alone were the midnight screenings.
Thursday night's last Friday morning.
It's pretty good.
I mean, think about a two hour and 45 minute film.
I mean, you want to go see it at midnight and I made that much money.
Well, they got your money when you walk in the door.
If you leave early, it's your own fault.
But, you know, you're invested in it.
You're leaving it three in the morse.
And speaking of of Gandalf and people that he knows.
I just want to throw that out there.
Ian McKellen diagnosed with prostate cancer.
And apparently he's living with his diagnosis for several years.
Wow.
He's, they got it detected early enough.
He's for some reason.
He's just now comfortable enough to talk about it, I guess.
But he says he's keeping it.
It's been very well.
Very well.
Yeah.
It does sound like he's from somewhere.
And I can't quite place it.
Don't just don't.
You've done, you've tried that joke already once.
But wasn't on the air.
And that's a good thing.
This does lie.
And then we go from a high note to very low note.
Apparently, John Travolta wants to remake white Christmas with Olivia Newton, John.
If you touch this film, you will hear from me.
I can't say anything beyond that, because then it's a threat.
And I can be arrested.
But.
And I'm sure he cares.
How and how does he still get work?
Because he's, remember, Scientology.
Um.
But I'll tell you what though.
Have you seen any of this video that they did for this Christmas song?
No.
Olivia Newton.
John looks crazy.
She does.
I have seen her lately and she has aged very very well.
Yeah.
But this one is good.
But this movie don't need to happen.
If it does.
It doesn't need to be made by them.
Don't even touch this film.
Exactly.
Leave it alone.
Do we learn nothing from a Christmas story, too?
Some people would say the Grinch.
I didn't think Grinch was that bad.
Just no.
I'm saying some people would say.
I enjoyed it.
I prefer the original.
But I.
I still like.
Maybe it's a thing with a leg land.
Thriller mashup that you saw earlier.
It was brilliant.
That was pretty good.
The best selling blue right box set of 2012 goes to James Bond 50.
If I had 200 bucks.
I can't say that I would know it.
It's a beautiful set.
I just, I have a really hard time buying box sets that I know are continually evolving.
Yeah, especially when it's that much.
Jack White is no longer scoring the lone ranger.
Han Zimmer is in.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Did you watch the Pacific Rim trailer yet?
No.
Have you.
Has anybody in this room seen the trailer for Pacific Rim?
No.
This is Guillermo de Artoro's new movie.
No.
Here's how I'm going to show it.
Here's how I'm going to pitch it to you.
Godzilla.
Godzilla.
Versus Robotech.
That's what this movie is.
Home run.
Dude.
I watched the trailer on my iPhone and I was like, oh my god.
People have been talking this thing up for a long time.
Yeah.
Is it what he walked away there?
They're already working on the sequel.
He walked away from the Hobbit to go do this.
Yeah.
Wow.
Dude.
Go watch the trailer.
Did you get anything up and run it on the Wii U?
No.
I don't get to figure out why.
Hmm.
Does that have a hard connection thing?
Yeah.
But needed to the Wii.
So we've got to figure it.
Let's get that thing up and run and so we can't.
Maybe have to reboot the Wii U or something.
Or your router.
I need you.
No, because I can get on it on my phone.
It's saying that it's on it on the Wii U.
But for some reason, we won't run any of the apps.
Because I'm telling you, you've got to see that trailer.
Oh, it's so good.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
We're going to go right here.
Wanna go here?
No.
Here.
Thank you.
There's a man by the name of Joe Madeline.
It wasn't that a, oh, it was Bob Dobley.
I never mind.
I knew he died.
I was Del the funky homo sapient.
Apparently this guy is doing an auction of some Star Wars memory ability.
It's a night and tomorrow.
Uh, they entertainment weekly put up what they thought was going to be the top eight or
top six or seven or eight items and what they think they will go for.
They are as follows.
First, we have a scale mock up model of an X wing that was used in episode four.
The air sink is going to go from anywhere from 80 to $120,000.
Who is this guy?
I don't know.
I don't know who he is.
They just said who we what that this guy.
They said it on entertainment weekly website.
The stunt version of Luke's lightsaber from episode six,
which means that's just a hand.
All the one that he carried on his belt.
That's supposed to go from anywhere from 30 to $50,000.
A rebel alliance pilots helmet from episode five.
This is, it's, it was the original property.
It's been restored.
It's got the blue rebel alliance logo.
Okay, yeah.
I've seen pictures of this.
That's expected to go anywhere from 20 to $30,000.
I saw this article now.
Uh, a 10 by five by six.
That's 10 inches by five inches by six inches.
One of a kind job of my cat.
That's actually featured in the book,
ILM, the art of a special affair.
Remember this thing.
This is expected to go from 20 to $30,000.
Uh, an imperial royal guard helmet from episode six.
And it's in beautiful condition.
The picture they showed this thing is gorgeous.
40 to $60,000.
Uh, a scout trooper blaster with the armored holster.
This is the actual prop used in the film.
And you can tell because it's a little worse for where.
That's expected to go for anywhere from 10 to 15,000.
I always like to look at that gun.
And an early head model for Yoda.
It's full size.
But it was unused because when they were making it,
it kind of bubbled up a little bit.
But that's supposed to go from 40 to $6,000.
It's awesome.
I wish I had money to burn.
Because I would really like to have like.
That's the scale mock-up model of an X-wing from episode four.
Are you kidding me?
Oh, geez.
That moment that Kevin had whenever they showed him the colonial viper
on the Stonic Electicus set.
That'd be you with this.
Both of us with this.
Dude, that would be me if I was him.
Hi, Kat.
Hi, Rob.
We'd like to show you this colonial viper that we put your name on.
You can suck it.
You can suck it.
And you can suck.
Because I got my name on a viper.
So what?
If you're a fan of the film Willow, which I found out tonight,
you are not, which kind of surprisingly, I've never heard of it.
Never really was.
It's going to get its very first blue ray release in March.
For its 25th anniversary.
I like it.
I just don't want to love it.
My first job at the age of 14, I worked at Wendy's in my hometown,
which is still there.
Store number 109, 441 in Atlantic Boulevard.
Nice.
At that time, Wendy's was doing a promotion with the kids.
Meals with the release of Willow.
So I, and we had the one sheet that I got to take home with you.
It's at the one sheet for Willow in my room.
When I was a kid.
The packaging on this looks gorgeous.
Oh, you know what I found recently.
My Star Trek 2 glasses for Taco Bell.
Did you hold them up and go?
Good.
Oh wait, no, no, no, no.
They were, they were Star Trek 3 glasses.
Okay.
Then it was the Faltor Pan, which...
Okay.
And this next story.
And I don't know if you've seen this next story or not yet, guys,
but you might want to see it.
You might want to change the music.
Oh, hold on.
Have you read this story, Andrew?
Yes.
Oh crap.
I gotta look for stuff now.
I don't have it in order.
Let me see what I can do by track.
I'm almost doing it that way.
Here we go.
This is kind of crucial.
It's a nice, spelt segue.
The University of Chicago gets this package in the mail.
They don't know where it came from.
They don't know who sent it.
And it looked, I mean, it was, it's aged.
It doesn't even have real stamps on it.
It is addressed to Henry Walton Jones Jr.
Which, if you know, that is Indiana Jones' name.
Yeah.
It's tied.
I mean, I'll pull up.
I'm saying to pull up the picture of this thing.
I showed it to Chad and he almost crapped on himself.
It's like, ah!
And this really happened.
Like, the University of Chicago published this on their blog.
And we have no idea what this means.
Where is this?
Trying to find it.
Here it is.
Found it.
I'm going to read you.
Exactly what the University of Chicago put up.
It was actually set up.
It was sent.
The school is asking for anyone with knowledge of what it was to email them
at Indiana Jimmelch's journal at usecaggo.edu.
What we know, the package contained an incredibly detailed replica
of University of Chicago professor Abner Ravenwood's journal from Indiana Jones
and the Raiders in the Lost Ark.
It looks only sort of like this one.
But it's almost exactly like, it looks like, it only sort of looks like,
but it's almost exactly like this one.
So much so that we thought it might have been the one that was for sale on eBay
that we had not seen.
So it's telling some inconsistencies in the cover and the color cover color.
The book itself is a little bit dusty.
And the cover is teal fabric with a red velvet spine.
It's beautiful.
With weathered inserts and many postcard slash pictures of Marion Ravenwood
and some cool old replica money included.
It's clear that mostly, but not completely handmade, although it's included paper
as weathered all of the handwriting and calligraphy,
lacks a telltale pressure marks of actual handwriting.
So this is a replica.
What we don't know, why this came to us.
This package does not actually have real stamps on it.
The outside of the package was crinkly and dirty as if it came through the mail,
but the stamps themselves are pasted on and looked like they have in photocopy.
There is no US postage on the package,
but we did receive it in a bin of mail,
and it's addressed to the physical address of our building.
Rosenwood Hall, which has a distinctly different address from any of the other buildings
where it might be appropriate to send it.
However, although now home to the econ department and college admissions,
Rosenwald Hall used to be the home of our departments of geology and geography.
If you're an applicant and you sent this to us, why?
How?
Did you make it?
Why so awesome?
That's literally the wording.
If you're a member of the university community and this belongs to you,
or you've gotten one like it before, please tell us how you acquired it.
And whether or not yours came with a description,
or if we're making a big deal in the package,
you accidentally shipped a gift for a friend
into the inner university mail system.
If you're an Indiana Jones enthusiast
and have any idea who may have sent this to us, or who made us,
let us know that too.
Now I'm going to turn my laptop around, so our guests can see this.
Yeah, the university speculates it,
it could simply be a mishandled delivery for someone else.
A viral marketing hoax or part of an alternate reality game,
but it really hopes that it's part of one of the most impressive college applications ever made.
And that would be awesome as it was.
Yeah, and it is nearly identical to the one received by the university,
so the package and all is the one that's on eBay.
And apparently there's another replica on sale right now.
Dude, and I mean, this is ridiculously detailed.
They said some details don't match up.
The color of the journal's cover is different.
The biggest tell lies on the package itself,
and address stamp with a common misfelling of Illinois spelled IL-L-O in OIS.
So it seems like that's all just one big delivery replica mix up,
and not the work of a determined college applicant.
It's redog on dick till this is what it is.
It's sweet.
I mean, I've got the published journal of Indiana Jones.
It don't hold a candle to this thing.
Wow.
And nobody's come forward yet.
This came down, I think, like Wednesday or Thursday.
Nobody's come forward and said, I did this.
And now, did they mention it?
It seems like they did mention how long that it's been sitting there,
because they thought it was supposed to be.
That would be article I have.
Oh, I thought they did.
I literally read you the entire statement that they didn't realize what was going on
until they saw who was from.
They're like, oh, wait a minute, oh my god.
They said they'd held onto it for a while, thinking was just a wrong mail
before they realized who it was and addressed to and opened it.
Yeah, I wish they'd be more specific as to how long it was.
Oh, it's on their, by the way, it's on their Tumblr post.
Let's go to the movie new releases this week.
Somebody with gas apparently.
Oh, that would be me.
I've been swooping in raw sewage.
I love it.
And here come your bubble guts.
I know that was before.
Monsters ink in 3D.
I'm in theaters this week as we prepare for next summers.
I love to.
You know, I miss finding Nemo in 3D, and that's my famous Pixar film.
But this is really cool.
A film also was expected to be in awards darling zero dark 30,
which is about the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
I'm intrigued.
Yeah.
I as am I.
Great one sheet.
Where the title of the film is like redacted out my hand.
Yeah.
Of the guilt trip.
Oh, no thank you.

Looking forward to a few days in a tropical paradise.
But on the morning of December 26th, as the family relaxes around the pool after their Christmas festivities the night before,
a terrifying roar rises up from the earth as Maria freezes in fear a huge wall of black water
and reaches across the hotel grounds toward her.
You and the Gregory may only watch her in this thing.
Really?
Wow.
So, it's a tidal wing?
I guess.
I heard roar.
I'm like they're getting chased by a T-Rex.
The black water though?
Yeah.
Also.
Oh, that, and that's for this week.
We also have on this week on the road.

A promise land directed by Gus Fansant.
Uh, currently at 55% on Rotten Tomatoes.
So, uh, let's see, Matt Damon placed Steve Butler in ace corporate salesman who
is sent along with his partner, Sue Thompson, played by Francis McDormand.
To close a key rural town in the company's expansion plans.
I think we all know how this is going to go.
But also in the film, How Holbrook and John Krasinski from the office.
Oh, the impossible is actually based on the tsunami.
Oh, is it?
A couple years ago.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
And I said that some of the extras are actual survivors of that.
Oh, really?
Wow.
Wow.
Also coming out.
Christmas Day.
A movie called Cortette.
Uh, Beach of House is a buzz.
The rumor circling the halls is at the home for retired musicians as soon
to play a host to a new resident.
Word is it's a star.
The original page it played by Tom Cortney.
Wilford Bond and Sicily Rob Robinson played by Pauline Collins.
This sort of talk is part for the course.
But there's in for a special shock where the new arrival turns out to be nothing.
Uh, be their former singing partner played by Maggie Smith.
Now, I supposedly didn't tell you who one of the principles in this.
And Chad, you'll want to pay attention.
I just looked him up.
Billy Connell.
Billy Connelly.
Huge fan.
Huge fan.
The gambon is in this too.
Michael gambon.
Oh, Michael gambon.
Great actor as well.

I may be in on this.
Yes.
You took over for.
Took over.

Uh, Malik Yoba.
Formally of New York under cover is in this.

So I'm out.
Uh, DVD of Lunade New releases for the next couple of weeks.
This Tuesday pitch perfect.
Let's try to go see it and get sold out.
Uh, trouble with the curve.

Uh, the 2012 version of Total Recall.
Resident Evil Retribution.
Didn't that come out like a month ago?
Seems like it.
Uh, arbitrage with Gerritchard gear.

WWE Survivor Series as well.
This Tuesday.
And then next Tuesday.
I'm assuming we'll be next Monday.
Cause next Tuesday.
The Tuesday after Christmas day.
Uh, the words with Bradley Cooper and why did her name just escape me?
Oh, who are we?
Oh, gosh.
Alumbiana.
Zoe Southana.
Yes.
And WWE's best pay per view matches of 2012 and guess what's dead center of the cover.
I have no idea.
Triple H undertaker.
Oh, wow.
I will never forget you just saying, I don't want to see this again.
I don't want to see this again.
I don't want to see this again.
I don't want to see this again.
I don't want to see this again.
We're technically the second one, who had how did we know?
How would we get us, that it would be that much better.
Let's do a little bit of tech talk.
If you have an Apple device and you've missed Google Maps and miss it no longer,
because it's back, and it's awesome.
Why did they take it off in the first place?
Cause they wanted to do it.
They thought they're they're they'reapolis better.
And it was universally.
Pan.
Yeah.
They always worked up so well.
Um, anything else that you guys want to talk about in tech talk?
Cause that's all I got.
I'm actually trying to pull some stuff up right now.
I'm going to go straight to the new egg had a 250 gigabyte solid solid stage drive for like 149.99. Nice. I think the deal is going on.
I think Walmart. Oh, someday. I don't know the 7th. No, not the 7th.
Right before Christmas is they're going to sell the iPad for the retina of 16 gigabyte version 32 gigabyte version.
No, I think it's not a generation before that. Oh, it's the 3rd. Yeah, it's literally like 2 generations old. Oh, okay. I'll be not happy too.
Yeah. All right. Let's go to the list streetlights on. All right.
The list goes to you tonight, sir. And I don't have a copy of it. So I don't know what's coming. Well, this is something that was kind of a standard for us growing up around this time of year. We got it still is today to a certain kind of thing.
It's it's kind of downplayed so much because it's we've got so many channel choices.
And I've got these I've got these dated by the year they were first shown, but these are the the Christmas specials that we all grew up on this in any specific order.
No, not really. I guess kind of, but it's it's kind of subjective. Maybe just in order of how people
Rank them on their own. I don't know, but I just kind of flew through this thing out there to just see what would stick.
Number 10 was a little drummer boy.
Love the song.
The ranking bass thing. It was okay. Well, it was never a stop down for me. Well, and you don't really see it that much anymore.
I can't remember the last time I actually saw this on ABC or ABC family or anything like that.
But it was a little bit different because it kind of broke away from
the the more fantastical elements of Christmas and really wanted you to focus on why we celebrated the first place.
Do we have what's keep it on keep it on view.
They're just saying Kirk Cousins is going to start over RG three tomorrow.
Okay. Well, and apparently all those teams that we listed listed earlier for basketball are leaving the conference in 2015.
That is going to happen now. Yeah. Wow. Okay. Sorry. Go ahead.
But anyway, little drummer boy, 1968 from 1979.
John Denver and the Muppets greatness and a great album.
You want to talk about a celebrity that just seemed to fit with the Muppets.
It seemed like every time he did something that was involved with that universe, it just it was a beautiful fit.
That was the fact that I think he and Scooter were separated.
Hey, both one of my favorite Christmas albums, too. I absolutely love that out my plate to this day.
Although I will always call John Denver a dirty liar because almost heaven is not West Virginia.
I've been to West Virginia.
No disrespect to any members of the empire of West Virginia, but you're not almost heaven.
And of course you're just really highly elevated and Jim Carries quote, I'm dumb and dumb.
John Denver was full of it. Yeah, exactly. Rocky monster flat.
But another shrimp thum Navave from from from 1969 great great year frosty the snowman.
Still a rank and best thing, but they went with the traditional animation this time.
Yeah, it was okay. But again, a lot of that stuff outside of root off itself.
But it's iconic. You can't deny that.
I'm not saying it's iconic, but I don't know if I'd put it on my 10 favorites.
Yeah, exactly.
This one, you're going to have to really fight me on this one to challenge it, challenge it to debate. It's greatness on it.
But being crossed be Christmas special from 77.
It's going to be one of the songs that's going to close the show tonight because I haven't seen this list.
Yeah, because this one of my favorite renditions of a Christmas song ever in the history of ever.
And I don't know if you realize this, but whenever this was put on the air, it was about four months. Actually, he had already passed away.
And we've been crossing through to anything I'm already in.
Yeah, no kidding.
Uh, from 1987, a Muppet Family Christmas.
Yeah, it went to Fazee's family. Yeah, yeah.
They got snowed in. Also, like, one of my favorite moments of recent history is that last one they did.
Where they've got, they've got letters that they have to bring to Santa.
They showed it again like like last Thursday.
And they're trying to look something up on the laptop.
And animal just walks in with a baseball bat and beats the crap out of the laptop.
I just look at the camera and goes, ah, ah, I just walks away.
Oh, I laughed for hours.
Is that Jesse, I'll martens in that.
Hmm.
You put Muppets and Christmas together.
It's good to go.
It's a classic in a lot of people's life.
And there's another Muppets special on here, too.
Okay.
But a little less tradition.
Here you go.
Uh, from 1970 Santa Claus has come into town.
I thought this was so cool.
Yeah.
And it kind of refreshed by memory of the, of why I like it so much because we finally as kids got
to see Santa's backstory.
And we've never gotten that before.
You know, you've sang the song a billion times.
Yeah.
But to see it on screen.
I don't know.
I just kind of did something for me.
Again, I'm very, very, because Christmas is my favorite time of year.
I'm very, very picky when it comes to things Christmas are late.
Well, but so many of these were done by Rankin Bass.
I mean, the list is pretty much going to be dominated by Rankin Bass.
I'm just, that's my opinion.
We didn't have a lot to choose how I get down until you get to the top two.
Um, my next Muppet involved Christmas special with Emmett,
Otter's jug band Christmas.
And in, in, in, in.
Absolutely loved it.
It was kind of like the gift of the match I'd done with a Muppet spin.
And I thought it was worth an honor with,
of all characters and honor really.
Very, very touching very much.
I mean, otter.
I swim on my back and I do cute little things with my hands.
You're free to go.
Why have we have not seemed like a blue ray release of this?
I have no idea.
We're just now getting to blue ray releases of like the Muppet movie and the Great Muppet
movie.
Maybe that'll happen.
Maybe that'll happen.
But you're rounding out your top three from 1964.
Uh-huh.
Rood off the red nose freaking ring.
That's the one.
It's breaking bass.
That's the one.
You can, I love it.
Great show.
That.
It is so, I mean, you can see pop cultural references everywhere today.
Who, there's like, in there like an insurance firm that's got Bumble.
Uh, probably does that.
Uh, the jack on the box is filling in an insurance firm.
I saw it just fairly, really.
Probably my net life.
And I mean, it's dead.
They got the rights to everything else.
That's true.
That's true.
They had the Voltron Road.
The Voltron.
That was robot after the Super Bowl.
Yeah.
That was beyond cool.
The top two from me.
And I'm sure y'all have already got this figured out.
Keep going.
Um, they could be interchangeable on this list from me for number one.
It just depends on what mood I'm in.
Okay.
From 1966.
Dr. Susses.
How the Green Stoke Chris.
Absolutely.
Boris Carloff.
This is it.
With thorough Ravenscroft, Mr.
Tone of the Tigers, singing the theme song.
Oh, my tiger.
And of course.
Do I even need to say?
You may as well just play the dead gum music because you know what it is.
Just play it.
Say it.
From 1965.
A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Yeah.
You can't watch it every time.
There's something about.
And I don't care if you have religion or don't have religion or whatever you do.
When Linus takes the stage and reads the story straight out of the new testament.
I don't care who you are.
You are a seven year old for 23 minutes of your life.
It's when you can go to the store and buy a replica of the tree from a Charlie Brown Christmas.
With the one over.
For me, and I'm going to put a couple of of honorable mentions here.
And one of them.
You're probably going to look at me funny, but it is one of.
One that I always remember the very first Simpsons Christmas episode.
That starts with Bart and he's in the choir.
And he's singing Jingle Bells.
Batman, Smell, Robin, Lade, Nagan, Homer, Graves.
And it's the first time you ever heard.
I didn't do it.
Nobody saw me do it.
You can't prove anything.
One of my personal favorites.
And then where San is a little helper came from?
Yes.
The original Simpsons Christmas.
That was pretty darn good.
It makes me sad that Treehouse of Horror has taken place at the Christmas episode for them.
They did one like the first four or five years straight.
Pretty much anything attached with the Muppets for Christmas.
There's just something about that combination of things.
That's just it's right.
I think we've lost the art of, you talked with the Bing Crosby thing.
We've lost the art of the Christmas special.
You see I get attempted a lot, but nobody really pulls it off.
I mean, I know the Carpenters had a Christmas special that was really, really popular back then.
But I'm talking about like in the modern.
It doesn't work.
It just doesn't translate.
What the problem is.
But Shelley did want to come here.
Everybody wants to do it with 90 other people.
And that's not the point.
Like when Bing did his, he had three or four people.
But the main focus was Bing.
Yeah.
It was a Bing Crosby flip in Christmas.
Did you see the Butchelli went from a couple years ago?
I saw some clips from it.
He actually did jingle bells with the Muppets.
See?
You know, you Muppets Christmas gold license to print money.
Oh, thank you for this.
I just, it's, it's one of those things.
We've lost that art form.
We're so worried about taking the person that's been hot for the last 10 minutes.
And putting them in this thing.
It makes like no.
And you create something that's got a shelf life of about 15 seconds.
Nothing that they can create now.
I think we'll ever touch.
We've also lost the art of the Christmas concert.
You know, apparently, I heard a clip the other day of a group that apparently has played
at the Lincoln Center every year for about 20 years.
It's Christmas music.
And it's an entire orchestra of tubas.
That was rough to listen to.
Yeah.
It sounded like a bunch of people did.
A bunch of people just left the ponchos.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Andy Williams.
Andy Williams.
Great.
Yeah.
You know, Perry Como did what I was a kid.
You know, I was in the band.
You were in the choir.
The Christmas concert was everything.
It was, it was.
You did, you worked for two days.
The Christmas concert and the end of the year concert.
That was it.
Yeah.
That was what you worked for.
Outside of whatever you called UIL, what we called FBA.
We've lost that art form.
Yeah.
It was the one time for us being in the Mesquite Independent School District locally.
Where all at the time there was, what was it?
Three.
North Mesquite, West Mesquite.
Yeah.
Because boutique really didn't exist yet.
We didn't really work with them yet.
All three of the major high schools got together at a cathedral.
Saint Stephen's Cathedral.
A cathedral that's round.
Oh, yes.
A cathedral.
Amazing.
I should have brought my, I've actually got a copy of a singing silent night.
It ranged by a local composer, DDDU song.
That was the best friend of my choir teacher, right?
Who has a degree, a PhD in music from SMU.
And it is the most amazing thing you'll ever hear.
And it's, that was what everything does.
So that's the list.
Hey, man.
Um, week after next, it's back to me.
We'll probably do something year ending of some form.
Because it'll be the last show of 2012.
If you can believe that.
Come on.
I had one of my, uh, one of my trainers.
Last night talk about how.
How quick it this year's gone.
I was one of the people at church this morning.
And I was like.
Dear heart.
The older you get, the more of these you have behind you.
The faster they will go.
Uh-huh.
Make sure you join us tomorrow night.
Fox and how and then Richardson Texas for WWETLC.
The Empire will be out in force.
I'm sure there will be chance of at least one person in the studio's name at some point.
Uh, we're going to leave you tonight with as mentioned earlier.
Probably one of my not only one of my favorite Christmas songs of all time,
but one of my favorite versions of said song.
It is Bing Crosby.
It is David Bowie.
It is a little drummer boy combined with piece on earth.
