And we are at the new home studio.
It took a little bit of getting used to on the other show because this is the first time
that we've done the shows from the new home studio in far North Dallas slash the colony.

You get used to that after a while.

I'm never getting used to that.

a costume change because that's how she rolls.

You actually get to be here on kind of a strange day because we haven't done this studio
in four months.
Or it's a strange day.
We never done this studio.
We just haven't had this configuration in four months.
But let's get right into it from updates and corrections.
And we'll talk about it again today is original co-host of the clubhouse podcast Cody Hawkins
birthday.
So I want to say happy birthday Cody.
He's living out there way out on the on the east side now, but he's doing really well.
He and I texted a little bit this morning.
Get into NASCAR talk straight off last week tragedy and triumph, if you will, Denny Hamlin,
the first back-to-back Daytona winner in 25 years.
The race ended up happening Monday because it got right now Sunday.
But Ryan Hello Newman on the final lap of the race in a horrible accident two days later
up around and walking that is that is a dude.
He says a not only a testament to his toughness, which I agree with you 100% because even
guys like the stone were like, I challenge you to find a tougher man.
You're like watching the racing community rally around him was amazing, but it's also
a testament to the advances in safety and technology that NASCAR has done in the last.
Let's just even call it 15 years because I remember the day at Daytona that Dale senior
died.
I'm not a NASCAR guy, but I was actually working a DJ gig with Bravo, who chance and I both
worked for us how we met.
I was working a bridal show of all things.
It was a prom fashion show, I remember.
I was at David's bridal and somebody had told me and so I called my brother and I was
like, dude, and I woke my brother up.
He had been napping.
And I was like, dude, is this a thing because this is way early in the internet days and
he was like, dude, he was fine, the direct didn't look that bad.
Let me call you back.
And he called me back and he was like, dude, you're not lying, he's gone.
And so I think this being that same track, almost on the anniversary there in, it shows
again, the testament of the toughness of the safety gear, but the safety gear and the advances
they've had.
And just watching the, again, the racing community rally around him has been great.
And today we were in Vegas, a lot of Vegas talk today in just two weeks in a row.
We have a repeat winner at the same race, Joey Logano wins the Penzoil full of 400 back
to back years.
Well, I feel like you, to win in Vegas, you have to have a distinctly Italian sounding
name.
But it also has one of my favorite trophies in NASCAR because it's a boxing belt.
Yeah, old style like like Rocky used to wear it with the elastic on it.
Yeah, the ring title.
Yes.
That in speaking, which that made an appearance last night, let's get ice and fury busting
it out and busted something else out to like bust in a number of things, the, the brains
out of Beyonce Wilder, we'll get there.
But that one and the rock have my favorite trophies.
Got a Kimmer, the name of that speed wave, darlings, yeah, where it's got the big action
figure.
The aggro crack.
So we're not going to do point races because it's only the second race of the year.
So we'll probably wait till probably mid-May to start with that.
But next week, next Sunday at 330, I guess, I guess this is Eastern, I don't know, doesn't
tell me this Eastern, but we will be at the auto club speedway for the very creatively
named auto club 400.
That will be on your local Fox proper affiliate.
So I guess the XFL will be on FS1 that next week as well.
So and then we will be off next week because I will be out of town.
We'll talk about that here in just a little while.

because you know, a lot of people, if you don't watch NASCAR, you don't know that they
do a prayer before the race every week.
There was a pastor.
This was probably six, seven years ago that did the Taledict and Night's Prayer.
So everybody bows their head and he starts into it.
And all of a sudden people, you can see people start to go, like turn their head and look.
And by the moment he gets to it, I want to thank you for my smoking hot wife.
That crowd exploded.
I was like, this guy, I like this guy.

It's based on a series of books that were then turned into a video game.
Very successful.

No, but the back and forth between him and the guy that plays Jaskear on the show continuing
on social media is hilarious.
It's the long blonde or white hair that curves me with these guys because there's another
one that was in a movie that had the long blonde hair and I had to do a face to face to compare
it.
I did get caught up this week on Family Guy and The Simpsons.
Family Guy is still enjoyable.
The Simpsons still not funny.
How long has it been since you've found it funny?
It's been a while.
They're trying to work themselves into the Family Guy formula and I think it's hurting
hit that show.
But they are taking lots of shots at Disney and it's pretty funny.
I'll give them that.
They did a whole Family Guy episode where they had a focus group and the Griffins were
watching them through a two-way mirror and they were trying to find ways to reboot Family
Guy.
One of them was a rip on Riverdale and it just made me happy.
For fans of Tyler Perry's The Oval, the spin-off from that roofless will debut on B.E.C.
Plus March 19th.
That's not the gambling network.
These are the nights I wish we had cameras.
Season 2 of Harley Quinn will debut April 3rd on DC Universe.
I hope you've been waiting for that animated series.
If you were fans of Ellen's Game of Games, that has been renewed for Season 4 by NBC and
the Blacklist is getting an 8th season.
Wow.
I did not know that show was so on.
Yeah.
Wasn't it supposed to go with like three seasons tops?
My wife at one point was all in on that show.
I don't know if she still is.
Oh wait, me and my fantastic people are watching her get another one.
Good.
Don't make her happy.
So she lost power in some other show she likes.
Yeah, that just ended, didn't it?
Yeah.
I couldn't have no minds in it too, which was my wife's very upset about that.
I was surprised that Arrow ended in January, but they didn't go the full season.
But we've just gotten it on Netflix to get to watch it.
Yeah, they went straight hard-court on that.
Yeah, I got to, I'm about to see some of the half behind on all of my CW shows.
Paramount has renewed Yellowstone for Season 4.
I'm hearing very, very good things about this show.
Maybe in a fantastic way for love that watch every show she's been here.
Another one.
Well deserved.
Netflix is trying to get Season 6 of Lucifer, apparently that did really well from them
when they took it from Fox.
So you got that going for you?
Not starring Punishment Martinez?
Apparently there is Lance Storm appearing on that show though.
If you could be serious for a minute.
I just learned that the other day and it caught me way off guard.
That was like the reveal of Marshawn Lynch is going to be in Season 3 of Westworld.
Yeah.
And a significant role, which I was like, no.
And then they show I was watching Levitard the other day.
And they showed the piece of the trailer.
I'm like, that's Marshawn Lynch.
And you forget how big of a human he is.
Then you can see him next to normal people.
Yes.
Let's see.
We were talking about Riverdale just a minute ago.
Skeet Orich and Marisol Nichols will not return for Season 5.
After Season 2, I have not watched an episode because Season 1 of that show was so amazing.
I mean, it literally was Archie Dunne like Twin Peaks.
And that first season was nothing short of brilliant.
And then the second season, it was just Dunne.
Yeah.
Let's see.
And Activision.
Okay, go ahead.
I was going to say Sabrina, Season 3 just hit.
I am hearing amazing things about that show.
The third season just hit Netflix.
And I of course like to notice little odd things in the setup and the design.
There's a scene where they're in the house and the glass lampshades are like candy corn.
I mean, it doesn't look like a candy corn, but it's the color where it's the white, the
yellow, the orange.
Oh, nice.
So they have little hidden things like that that you've got to look throughout to find in
their set design and stuff.
I mean, they're so detailed with some of this.
They said they are not crossing that over with Riverdale.
Not going to happen.
But they've got their own spin off their work.
And so, well, that was the one they were originally talking about crossing over and then
Riverdale lost so many viewers and they're like, it's just not good.
Activision.
There's the whole thing.
Yeah.
They are developing animated series for both Diablo and Overwatch.
We will learn this week.
You better hurry up and do it.
I can't call that iron's hot.
Personally for me, I can't wait till they come out with a river rate, the series.

That game was very frustrating for me.

the complete series this week.
That was the new version they did.
I loved Ultraman when I was a kid.
I didn't watch the reboot, but I heard good things.

Earlier today, the St. Louis battle hawks had their home opener and opened a can on the Guardians 29-9.
I'm not going to remember anything from that game except for the box of thinnets.

So there was a young girl, we'll call her Girl Scout Age, had a very well-done sign in the
front row that said, will trade a box of Girl Scout thinnets for a game ball.
And you just see this oversized line and just like $6 million man with a ball and his hand running over to trade with her.
Hands of the ball gets the thinnets run back big spot.
Oh.
I really like what they're doing.
And they're embracing the, you know what, keeping the fans happy is what we're here for.
And I bought Girl Scout cookie just today for the fantastic pay for it in myself of the thinnets.
But I don't need a box to the firefighters and stuff too.
Good on you.
Yeah.
I know people were aware that you can, you won't have to buy the cookie.
You can say I want to hear some money buy some for the soldiers or buy some for the first responders.
First responders.

And on the XFL, my dad is in a local rotary club.
Mm-hmm.
And one of the representatives did come in and speak to the club recently.
My dad doesn't really follow sports.
No big shocker there.
But he was really impressed with how much it was.
This is about the fans.
These are the steps we're taking to avoid concussions.
These are the changes we're making.
But we are about the fans.
And the way it was presented was really impressive.
You have a strange look on your face.

No, I tried to and well, yeah, I'm working on getting them out.
I don't get his program and look at it and post it.
But yeah, it was just really impressive.
And it was really great that even the higher ups are going out and doing things like speaking to rotary groups.
And of course, you don't get paid for that.

If you come to speak to a rotary group or an altruist or something, you usually don't get a payer.
If you do, it's a little nominal.
It's not a big dollar amount.
So good on them for reaching out to bringing in new fans.
Especially in a league where the average salary is $88,000 a year.

So, but I really like what they're doing.
I'm very much enjoying it.
The game that's on right now just before the half just went to half.
Wildcats 27 to 3 over the previously undefeated DC defenders.
Well, there's a good side to that.
And there's going to be a lot of fantasy scoring for DC in the second half.
So we'll have to see.
I mean, I guess that I'm really enjoying.
I've watched almost every game.
If I've been near a TV, it's been on.
I really, I don't understand the dog piling.
It's not going to be the NFL.

So Jarvis Landry was saying based on the new CVA that's being presented to the players, you might want to get familiar with the XFL because you may see your favorite NFL players in there within a couple of years.
They've got a vote first.

They keep pushing the vote.
They've got to vote on this thing.
And you and I talked about this.
And we can talk about this now with the CTAs for the NFL.
One of the things that they are proposing is an additional, additional playoff game with an additional team.
So that only the one C gets a buy.
I am on board with this.
Yeah.
The possibility there is you have two additional games because you have the 17th game in the regular season, the extra game on Wild Card Weekend, but you lose the fourth game in preseason.
Which I think you should lose the third and fourth game in preseason.
There's a genuine part of me that's wondering why we're not hearing more about the idea of there's a lot of contracts that have escalators of you.
If you're on a playoff team that makes it, you get paid for that.
If you have an extra game, you get paid for that.
And I'm surprised there isn't more talk on that to try and make it be like, look, we're adding games, but it's not like they're doing it for free.
In some cases, they are.
In some cases, they're not.
It's just going to depend on the player's contract.
But it is.
If they guarantee a paycheck for that extra game, 100% sign it, move on.
I believe in a 16 team playoff.
Eight and eight.
And everybody plays eight, four, two.
I see where you're coming from.
Why should anybody get a buy?
Because they've heard it during the season.
I don't believe in.
But it's like being a one seed in the NCAA men's tournament and you get to play sister Mary's college for the blind.
But still in a win vote.

But this isn't college.
This is pro.
But I'm just saying it's the same basic principle.
Well, look what happened to Simmy's games in the last playoff season with teens respected to win and they got sloped.
Well, you always have Cinderella's, but you've only had one 16 beat a one in the history of college.
And that was two years ago.
And that's college.
Well, no, no, no, no.
And I'll come to the pro thing.
The big thing with this was why you had buys was because football is such a war on the field that the getting that buy gave you the extra week to get people healthy.
That's why you have the buy.
And any eight seed team that gets in, they're still an NFL team.
So there's at that point, you're going to have people start going, well, do we really care to win this game?
Because maybe we match up better against a seven seed or something like that.
Whereas everybody is undefeated on a buy.
Yeah.
I like that.
But I like having the only the one seed get the buy because it makes it matter more.
It makes it matter more.
And you know, second place first loser.
And my other question is how you're talking the XFL and all that going back.
How what's the attendance like at these live games?
Really good.
They're doing very, very well.
Well, they're actually there's a fact that they were up 8% from week one.
Yeah.
And they haven't got the numbers because there were a week right now.
Well, no, no, here's the numbers that came out.
They had sold more tickets to week one games than the F had sold to every game combined in week one.
And I liked the F.
I enjoyed a lot of what they did.
And the XFL to their credit embraced some of the stuff from the F like seeing in the replay booth and things like that.
And they realized, oh, this works.
Maybe we can incorporate this and then did the other.
And then did the other.
What kind of viewerships are the yet.
They're actually getting way better numbers than they anticipated.
Well, and my thing about that is you've got people that are trying to compare the ratings to the NFL and you can't do that.
It's not the same.
You can because the NFL's had a hundred years to do this.
Yeah.
And how's like what's what you're saying about people are knocking this or whatever?
What are you talking about?
Is this a small one already?
It's the I didn't hear anybody knock this.
It was weird is hearing most of the blowards come from ESPN who is one of the people carrying the games.
But it's a lot of the old school blowards that are just like, oh, this is just another.
I'm like, no, they're actually doing it right.
They're learning from the mistakes they made.
We've noticed no cheerleaders, no mascots, everything's on the field.
Let's just get out there and play football and pat McAfee.
Or so how crazy is it that somebody can fumble and lose the game five seconds later?
Yeah, you really made a mistake on that one.
How do you feel?
Yeah, I think they can back off on that a little bit.
I have one criticism.
And I've said this since the first game.
They need to back that down.
What I'm saying is about how accessible it is for the reporters to get there.
But yes, I understand backing off of that particularly when they're broadcasting play calls.
Also announced that their championship game will be played in Houston Houston Houston.
Which I am not a fan of.
Well, it's Houston because it's Houston Houston Houston Houston Houston.
I'll say this.
The Houston does good on Super Bulls.
They really do.
But every one of them is good on Super Bulls.
Oh, no, Dallas didn't do good on Super Bull.
Yeah, Jacksonville is always the argument.
Jacksonville is always the argument.
But Dallas had weather inclement.
But that was their problem that they didn't plan for that.
But there is an elevate or there is an escalation in income regardless.
But there's also a nice let's see some income going back into Houston.
Because yeah, it's been a few years.
But there's still some cleanup and insurance finally coming through.
They're not coming through going on.
It's going to be just and they still haven't announced what the venue is going to be.
I'm assuming it's going to be where the Roughnecks play,
which is at the University of Houston Houston Houston.
But the thing you got to look at with Houston though when it comes to the Super Bull.
One, Reliance Stadium is very accessible.
It's close to down.
They're not going to play the line.
I'm just talking about.
No, I'm just talking about how you say Houston sucks on the Super Bulls.
No, they don't.
Because they got to suck on the Super Bulls.
Well, you knocked him.
No, I said Houston the city sucks.
Oh, but for Super Bulls, they do incredible job as a point of time.
Oh, no, I'm not saying that they don't.
They're the rest of it does well in most instances.
But they're one of the better ones.
They do a good job based on accessibility and the fact that they're also going off of a zero point to up.
I know, but you got more of the close to the airport.
You got the stadium close to downtown and all the hotels for the press and everybody else.
But it is a one week playoff.
Yeah, it's one week for East West and then into the top two teams play each other.
When is that game going to the game?
I wonder if they call it the Vinnie Mac or something.
I thought they were just calling it the big game at the end.
I thought they were talking about stuff like that.
But that's still so cheesy.
But you mentioned that.
And I think what I like about that too is that Vince has really been hands off.
Well, that was like we had talked about this and all over Lux said, hey, all for Lux said,
if for me to get involved in this, you've got to be out of this.
We're not doing this crossover.
I handle football.

I don't care what else.
The only thing I've heard is I've heard third downs where they play the Undertaker theme.
And that's about it.
But that's an NFL thing too.
But I like what they're doing.

I'm going to do an online just watching party from YouTube probably matched up with Facebook do some social media get some fans watching.
We, you know, over the years of all the things that I've done.
You know, I wouldn't consider myself a major influencer in any way but, you know, I have quite a few people that pop on and they tell their friends.
And, you know, I start getting emails from people I don't even know.
Hey, we heard about this thing.
I'm like, you know, so I know that it gets out there.
But the song every step is something I actually wrote and had recorded and finished.
Well, I wrote the song in like 10 minutes.
I got it produced, finished, recorded, and done in about a week and a half.
But I did it over a year ago.
And I haven't released it to anywhere to anyone.
It's a pretty personal song.
But I was ready to release it and get it all ready to go but I was trying to get the video done.
And I'm really not that great of a video director.
I'll stick to the music side of things.
And I had this vision in my head.
I'm like, this is what I want.
It's going to do this.
And I had, I've probably made and scrapped 15 different versions of the thing.
And quite frankly, I'm still not happy with it.
But I got pretty scrappy with Final Cut Pro and started putting some stuff together.
I should have called Jason B because he could have made things happen for me.
I'm sure.
But at the end of the day, you also got budget constraints and everything else.
Indeed.
So videos done went ahead and set the release, got it together.
But it's probably, no, it's not probably.
It is to date the single most important song I've ever written.
And for me, it's probably the best piece of work I've ever done.
Soon to be rivaled by some other stuff that we'll get to that's coming out.
But as far as anything that I actually created, produced, put together, and handled the whole thing,
to me, it's an emotional release more than it is anything else.
It had to be done.
But the good thing that I've gotten from a few people that have listened to it is that it speaks to different people in different ways.
There's, you know, we'll be able to hear a little bit of that, what that sounds like.
But while it has a particular meaning to me, those that have listened to it have come up with their own version,
which to me says it speaks to a whole lot of different people.
And that's what's most important to me.

Every step, chance, is there anywhere you want to talk about things like the origins of it or any deeper things that you want people to know about it that you haven't able to talk about so far?
Well, ultimately, I don't think I want to get into the specific details.
Because like I said, it can mean so many different things to so many other people, but it's very personal song to me.
I will say this is that the inception of it came from the idea that when you know someone and then you lose someone quickly.
But it's also just being a support for that person no matter what.
It doesn't matter whether they live or if they die, it's more about what are we doing in the now?
And I think that's the part that speaks to me the most.
Well, I think it's really timely right now too.
We talk about being the light in the darkness.
And it seems like the darkness is fighting harder and harder and harder, especially like we're not even two weeks into February or not even two months into the year yet.
And it feels like we've already lived half the year.
And I think a song like this is really, really timely from that aspect.
Well, and it does have a bit of a connotation to just ultimately know that there's a plan.
And that's important to whether it's outright and saying it or not doesn't really matter, but the point is that's where it came from.
It's a song that came from love and about being support for someone doesn't matter who it is.
You don't affect anyone in their lives whether it's someone that's died of cancer or you're going through a breakup.
It's your job sucks and you got fired.
Whatever it may be, you know, you just, we're resilient people.
And that's really where it came from.
And as I said, every step of the way I'm going to be by your side, it's also not about, you know, no man is an island.
That supports this and that you have around you is so important.
And I think that we talk about that a lot.
And I think again, that's part of the timeliness of this.
Now, is this something that you're going to keep separate or will this something that we'll be working into?
You know, it might.

And to give you a little background on the producer, Chris Respante is a very good friend.
You've known a long time, very long friend.
And he, you know, he's been a touring session musician and guitarist.
He's a phenomenal guitarist.

He is also lived in Nashville for about 15 years.
So when I sent this song to him, I said, dude, I need to record this.
He's like, okay, what do you want?
I'm like, I'm feeling I want something rock.
You know, what can we do?
And he came back.
He's like, hey, how does 90s rock?
And I throw a little Nashville on it for you.
And I'm like, I love it.
Yes.
And so we, you know, put it together.
We talked about it.
I literally went in, laid the vocals in like 20 minutes and we were done.
The drummer actually throwing back into the audio scene as well with the whole country thing.
The drummer, I actually hired a session drummer.
His name is Tim Horsley and he played with Keith Urban.
Oh, nice.
So that's a nice fact.
I know who that is.
Yeah.
Through my Jerry.
Yeah.
So a lot of great people involved in this project and making it happen.
So I'm really glad to get this one out.
But yeah, there's been talk about letting this be another original, you know, as a song.
And part of the, you know, part of the group.
I mean, it's got that feel a little bit.
Doesn't all have to be, you know, well, and that's the thing, you know,
audio played at, I mean, I still think you need a t-shirt with this on a wagon.
But that's just me speeding down the line.
But when you guys played at the big show for who needs sleep this past year.
Like the, the root of audio really is what it says it is.
But you guys are able to play in genre a little bit more than I think a lot of artists
that try to lock themselves into that lane where you guys are not afraid to branch it out
a little bit and have a little bit of fun with it as well.
A little bit about that.
Yeah, so listen, there's, there's an interesting plan words here too.
I mean, I, I don't want anyone to confuse the fact that our band red dirt outlaws
is an outlaw country group.
That's not what this is.
It, it, it almost is, you know, it, it's a little bit everything.
There's some red dirt in there.
There's some Texas country for sure.
It's southern rock at its heart is really what it is.
You know, but being an outlaw in music doesn't, it, it can mean so many different things.
I mean, you think about outlaw country and what you hear nowadays.
I mean, I was listening to the other day on, you know, serious XM and the outlaw channel,
outlaw country channel had Loretta Lynn on there.
But you know what?
But she was.
She was and her time a little bit outlaw country.
She's kind of the queen of it.
She is.
And so you think about what that means and what it looks like.
And it's not all designed to, to fit a particular category,
which in a sense makes it kind of outlaw.
So that's, that's where that's coming from.
But yeah, there's been talk about adding that into the set with the other songs that we've got.
And you guys have a hefty little list that's you, because you guys played an hour.

I mean, yeah, we played.

We have a new album that's coming very soon.

If you make a big budget movie where you pay millions of dollars to block off sections of Hollywood

Generally the only person that picked live action short film where everybody picked something different.
Which I thought that was why that was and that was totally random.
And Alex Alex the only one that got documentary short subject where everybody picks almost everybody picked something different.
That one I actually had some info or going in on because I was a great guy.
Nobody got original screenplay because Parasite.

And the contest really was after you built it, they were going to destroy it.
And it was how it looked when it was destroyed.
And you got one of three things.
It either got hit with, destroyed it with a bat.
It got dropped off a ledge or it got blown up.
So, and then they would show it in slow mo and how it looked when it would crumble with part of what they were judged on.
Which was really neat because some of them would put like innards to an alien so that when it blew up it came out from the inside.
And this past week they were given half of an item like half of a bicycle or half of a grandfather clock or half of a laptop.
And they had to create the other half but not in its normal state.
They actually had to create a story of it which was really, really neat.
So, I'm enjoying this show very much because just the artistry that goes into it and I know because I've built Lego with my niece and I'm always wrong.
And Lego's just me, but now they are so expensive.
They've always been expensive.
