Each and every week we do start with corrections. I think it's a bit my tasty beverage. Chad, your wife who is a British descent has joined us in the chat room.

But from what I heard there wasn't anything that I needed to correct. So we got to the point now that we're pretty much correcting ourselves before we let it get past. But that's where we had the chat room.

Universal Studios, both Orlando and Hollywood. Every year they do a thing called Hollywood right night for Halloween. Or how Halloween.

There. I know that Phil and Shannon have a great story to tell about. Because they, you know, they used something for it.

And they would go to the, to the Halloween horror nights. There. But they're actually going to be doing a big deal.

Both, both parks with the walking dead this year. I guess they saw how well this did with the, uh, what they did at Comic Con. They said that walking dead obstacle course was a mile long.

And people got a really big kick out of it. So I guess they're going to have 10 to 12 major environments. And in some environments, you are going to have to be enhanced with these sense of smell.

Apparently there's a, uh, a hospital setting where you'll be able to smell zombies. So, uh, but do zombies. Death.

Bring your mortis. They're just going to have like some rotting meat carcasses that they're just going to encapsulate. And then they're going to have a burger stand at the end of it.

Nice. So that'll be good for you. If you're a fan of the walking dead, I'm sure the people are going to come out and drill for this.

And you know, and, and I know this may come as a huge shock to a lot of people. I have never watched that shock because I knew that before you started. Never watched an episode.

And I love zombie stuff. I saw about two episodes. I'm kind of zombie down.

That's my thing. And I'm in, and this looks like about the coolest representation of zombies in popular culture in a long time. It's doing well.

Very well. I mean, it's got a rabbit following. No pun intended there.

But I mean, I know people that just live and die and set their life by this show. Oh yeah. I know people that spoil the show during the show on Facebook.

Well, you'll get that with a lot of stuff. Survive or anyone. Yeah.

That's why I don't, uh. Let's try not to watch, you know, Facebook group. Like, when Rob's on, won't even say, look at Twitter, Facebook.

Well, in, in you better, just put your phone away. Did you just see, just stop texting? After a 10 day blackout, direct TV and Viacom finally come to an agreement.

So there's that. We're going to talk a little bit more about that during wrestling talk because man. Oh, yeah.

Weird. But then I read this, this last TV story. And I was just like, what?

What the, what the what? Aaron Sorkin has decided for season two of the newsroom, which it has been renewed. He is cleaning house in the writing department.

All new writers. Wow. Apparently, this is what he does.

This is not the first time he's done this. He has said every, and I guess he did this on the West Wing, too. He says every time we go to a new season on a show, I bring in all new writers and bring in new blood.

Okay. I mean, it's worked for him. The West Wing, in my opinion, one of the greatest television shows in the last 25 years.

It's worked for him. It hadn't worked too well for his writers. Don't expect tenure around Aaron Sorkin, apparently.

So I'm sure they know that going in. This is a great show. Why would you?

I haven't watched this week's episode yet. I'm a little behind on my TV. But.

I think it is a great, it's the theme from the mission. I was actually going to play the mission, which is the NBC that did it. Oh, okay.

That's called the mission. But then I saw this. I'm like, I really like this song.

This is the theme from that. Didn't hero. Oh, okay.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. He's just a paper from the movie theater by pocket. I can't get like 10,000 stuff.

I did it. And I think the last episode that you missed so far is probably the best of the season. So far.

Oh, really? Yeah. I'm looking forward to watching.

This is what the Gabriel Giffford shooting and stuff. Oh, really? Yeah.

That's what I love about this show. Is they tie it in? They go real world on you.

Well, the very first episode ended up being the day of the BP oil spill. Oh, God. And I'm sure I'm spoiling it for somebody right now.

Who's 4 episodes behind. But I don't care. But it's kind of cool.

Because they kind of need the way they've done. So they kind of look at this through an unflinching eye. I guess.

They really do. Good for them. That's brave.

It's old. But Sorkin's that ballsy. He always has been.

He doesn't fear anything. I don't think I've ever watched anything he's done. You need to start.

Yeah. Start watching. Just go back.

Start watching the Westman from the beginning. Yeah. Wish me luck on that.

Is that on Netflix? I own it, sir. I own the entire series.

That's true. You know, the worry about that. But I got a couple other series.

I got to get through first. I'm sure. Yeah, yeah.

At least I got to see the second season newsroom coming in. At least I renewed it. Yeah.

Yeah. I'll give them that. I just thought it was funny how they had to announce that true blood was going to get season 6.

I'm not going to anybody not see them coming. Is there a 6? Because you know they brought in more viewers now than Maloney's on it.

Yeah. As I, if they've got a 6 book, they've got a 6 season. That's nothing to worry about.

I turned into Kevin Costa back into the left back into the Like I was this obsessed Over this footage and then you showed it to me and I'm like and because I thought I was going crazy Well, yeah, because I'm about about this, but I'm going he didn't catch that ball No, he did not get so so I tell Chad Remind me tomorrow I have something I have to show you that was on pti today because you need to see this footage Like sure that I'm not completely losing my mind So I show it to Chad. Are you looking it up down?

Yeah, yeah, I'm looking yeah. I'm seeing it right now Here's what you see and I hate to I hate to be that guy that turned into the the preacher back in the day That you said tell you what was on the back masking until you'd listen to it carefully until you heard it But this is what happens if you watch the footage The guy is he's he's a righty, so he wears his glove on his left hand The ball comes over the fence. He reaches back with his glove hand over the fence The glove falls off his hand after the ball passes his glove His right arm is tucked up underneath him against the wall His body and the fence and he's sliding down the wall.

He falls down the wall His right hand disappears and comes up with a ball I am fully convinced this is not the ball That was it. It is not the ball that would over that unless the ball hits something bounced and fell under the fence and he grabbed it from under the fence Or unless he's got Now some set I go back to the right power Then I go back and look at the footage again with you And as I'm watching the footage again I go Why does it look like a ball in his back pocket? Now I don't know if at this point I'm just looking forward and so that's why it's there But unless he had an extra ball baseball shoved up under a fence that he could like like um, but was his name Joe Horn in the cell phone That he had shoved up under the goal post when he scored.

Oh, yeah. Yeah He didn't catch a ball. No, there's it's impossible This did not happen and what shocks me more than just anything else is nobody's making a big deal about this except you and me Well, they made a big deal the day after it happens, but no one's nothing's been said since but I've been watching the news to find out where it comes You know I had a ball in my back pocket Yeah, but he don't want to die.

Have you not seen the footage? Yeah, I do you see exactly what I'm talking Yes, I'm watching on his phone. So he's a much smaller screen you and I watched this on On my big screen TV and in high definition repeatedly.

I'm like no, and did I know to get did I and did I not turn into Kevin Concerning? Okay, no go back and look at it again Right right here You really only have to watch it once or twice. I mean you don't have to like barrage yourself with it, but the more times you do barrage yourselves with it The more obvious it becomes It's just No, he did not catch that ball.

Yeah, go ahead All the newcomers fit in very very well um I just had a couple of issues with it as far as like you said I didn't have the pacing issue with it that you did don't but as far as the timeline being skewed.

I still think that Kind of put some hiccups in the way that weren't necessary I'd still find the characters were great and everything and bring some of those people in like the the guy who gave sentencing You know, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, it hurts was great everything That's yeah again. Let's be careful. He didn't say He was vague enough with it.

I was very vague and I but I I just thought of the three is some at least favorite, but Still great acting. I thought everything. I'd still give it a thumbs up, but at that way I don't know where it places for me personally because they Kind of like the way it went.

I'll get to this in my in my list at the end of the show, but it kind of feels like it was all part of the same Story arc and it's it's really hard to define where one begins And another one ends they they fit together so well. I think that It doesn't really feel like I'm kind of invious of you Rob the fact that you got to see all three back to back like that I would have I would have loved have done it uninterrupted Of course you would have need a catheter and an IV you know, but Brilliant filmmaking by Christopher Nolan. I mean the man has taken What many people thought of as a throwaway goofy Art form of comic book filmmaking and turned it into a higher art form Every time I hear this music I get goosebumps on top of goosebumps Just the imagery this conjures up in your head.

It's just amazing what this man has done Kudos to you sir, and if you're taking ten years off, it's a well-earned ten years off. You earned it Rob, okay Here we Something Chad said it is is how I'm going to piggyback my feelings of his film Chad said he felt that I was lucky to have watched all three in a row I had two days to really set this in because Chad's first thing soon as Chad was done with the film he texted me what did you think and my initial reaction was I don't know Um, I did know how I felt when the credits rolled I think the marathon hurt me Because Number one, I said this two months ago a ventures has set the bar so high That I was worried about the dark night rises Because I have this bar set in my mind now Then I go back to the marathon and I had truly forgotten how Much of a masterpiece the dark night was like watching you to get because I haven't watched either of these films in a long time I just I just haven't had time To watch the dark night again Especially in the frame of mine now post the post the Oscars post all you know him passing away and everything else I was just my mind was blow Watching the dark night again. I can't remember what critics said that this movie would be a great film Even if it had nothing to do with Batman it was a great Somebody from folks on the family said you have to understand this is not a superhero trilogy It's it's they're crime.

It's a crime. Yes. Yeah, it would be a great crime film Just beautiful by the time I got to the dark night.

I was like okay, here we go And when the credits for all that didn't feel anything I didn't feel satisfied. I didn't feel unsatisfied but I didn't feel like Okay, I'm good The last five minutes alone I could spend 20 minutes off There were a lot of things with the end of this film That in that just I was like so that happened You know Asked me these questions in six months When I talked about it. Yeah, because again if you haven't seen the film I'm not telling you to not go see the film.

I want you to go see the film. It's Nolan The guy I give the guy a pass no matter what he does Because now going back and watching Batman begins again Let me ask you something sir done being the only other person that would know this reference. Do you remember the little kid that Katie Holmes was trying to protect towards the end of Batman begins when the toxin had taken over Oh, yeah, as we did That was that is King Joffrey King Joffrey from Game of Thrones really go back and look it's him.

Okay Because I'm sitting I'm sitting with with friend of the show Andrew Beckham. I'm like two that's King Joffrey He goes I'm looking it up right now. You got it.

I'm kidding. He's like no that's him But and and I had asked my former supervisor who sat through the ultimate Marvel movie there Marathon with me if he was gonna go and he said to me I don't know that I could sit through Batman begins again Really and I and I I thought about that as I was watching Batman begins and I question now going back and watching Batman begins again Did we love it so much because show marker yes was the dream stomper yes that he was Because going back and watching it again now Still a good film very much enjoyable, but it took forever to get going But it it wasn't the dark night no like the dark night again And I say this about the godfather The dark night is as close to a perfect film as you can ever make it is Visually stunning the story telling is amazing he fledger enough said he's ledger In body that character like no one ever has and I don't think anyone ever can again It makes you forget nickels that ever put on a clown face not only that But he understood the character for who the character was as did goyer as did no one in his brother the Joker There's no rhyme or reason Just like Michael Cain said some men just want to watch the world burn and that's what the Joker character at essence is Some men just want to watch the world burn. There's no rhyme or reason to it And so by the time I got to the dark night rises I had to tell myself there is no way That this movie can top that it just can't If if if it was good I enjoyed it But like but like I told you and you referenced earlier the time frame gets screwy I am gonna say one thing about this film if you go to see it it starts with the end of dark night where Gordon's doing his speech But we jump forward eight months.

So know that going into it no no eight years Yes, right it's an eight-year jump in the middle in the beginning of this film If you don't know that going in the very beginning of this thing gets very confusing and this is not something we're Sporting because no they put this out months ago that they were gonna put it and then the timeline does get weird But I have the exact opposite opinion that dawn has And I said this to you on the phone when you have a movie that's two hours and 45 minutes long And I feel you've crammed too much into it you have a problem Because it got and I said to you on the phone that night for the first time in my life I want to say to a movie dumb this down a little bit You feel like it was it just kind of collapsed under its own way. I don't think it collapsed I just think it got to a point where we were moving we were we got to the point where oh my god We're so deep into this movie. We have to move faster And I think a few things got lost in translation as as far as pacing goes up or further so for Batman begins I agree with you there and then but but I'm watching the dark night again.

I think there were a couple of times where I was like oh yeah We have to still do this Because as I was watching the dark night I was going oh that's where we are but we sought to do this this this this this the mess To get to where we're trying to get to He did it brilliantly I still think there was a couple of things in the dark night he hmm if if we came out of brass Actually could have taken out But I don't feel that there's anything I would have taken out of the dark night rises I think that from a story telling standpoint I thought he did it right because it's Nolan and he does a rig in Inception notwithstanding because I didn't like inception But this is the guy that did Memento which is one of my favorite movies ever I just felt that the dark night rises. I still don't know how I feel I feel empty I See I can't say that I I feel fulfilled and And I feel optimistic that there could be something down the road. I don't I feel like you rob in this messwack Really, so it's what you're saying.

It's just mind one complainers. I thought it was just too long What I did feel exhausted, but then you you kind of run the emotional I was exhausted. It's been nine hours.

Well, I mean it you kind of run an emotional gamut in this film You know, you you kind of go through the entire range of emotion and don't get wrong. It's a great film Yeah, first to say please great again. I will recommend it even to a casual fan But if you're going to see it make sure you've watched the first two don't go into this one as your first one.

Yeah, but Again bail delivers and and Reverend I will I'm saying it is worth seeing absolutely we're seeing totally For everybody that talked crap about Anne Hathaway in this rule in this role suck it she kicked but because she was amazing She she had every aspect of who so and I think she did a better job than fight for dead because catwoman's not crazy She's highly intelligent yes and she's just somebody likes to steal stuff and she's in crontown But I mean I think that was where Burton fell short with it She didn't have to be crazy no She just she's a cat burglar But like you mentioned to me on the phone or oh today when we got back from from the movie we saw today Actually, no, this was yesterday. I think it was just yesterday as talking. I think if I if I think they never named her as catwoman in the film You never hear the word catwoman mentioned which I thought was interesting And I hope that her detractors can see it for what it is and recognize their performance I thought she was great.

He asked me about this About the Aurora Colorado incident and for those of you that don't have all the details here is what we have gathered so far We are talking about this the the the dark what we're calling the dark night rises incident is POI tonight And because I want to talk about how it's the reactions there in both locally and globally At the century 16 theater in Aurora Colorado 12 people have been killed and 50 more have been injured Including a three-month old baby at the midnight showing of the dark night rises Thursday night slash Friday morning Suspect is 20 four-year-old James Holmes.

He walked in in a bulletproof vest gas mask and riot helmet Problem number one There were people allegedly and that the year that thought this was part of the experience He throws tear gas into the theater brings in a rifle a shot gun which was a rubbing to 12 gauge a glauck handgun and an AR 15 Which for those of you that don't know is an assault rifle that resembles an AK 47 We find out later that as the FBI has called in and the local and state authorities go to his apartment It was statistically booby trapped with over 30 explosives and cindy-ary devices and chemical devices all with trip wires and apparently There was explosive plan and in the theater as well. He had mentioned it. They never found him.

Oh, okay. He had said something about it But he was actually doing talking about his home. Okay He wasn't rolled in medical school at the University of Colorado He also referred to himself as the Joker.

There are reports that he had green coloring in his hair I see after I read I'm like what's red. Oh, is it red? Yeah, he is currently of course The cops got a hold of him.

They are saying he acted alone. He is currently on suicide watch where he is being held And the prisoners themselves want to get a hold of this. Yeah.

Oh, there's no way they're gonna get him or close to him That's just not gonna happen First and foremost before we even talk about this This show as well as everyone else on the planet has sent prayers and condolences to all of the families involved This was a horrible horrible incident and it just it when somebody asked me about it last night at work I said it it makes me sad. Yeah, it makes me sad because We live in a world where this happens I actually posted a picture on Facebook today that that Your ex wife originally posted and your daughter reposted. It's a picture of a map of Colorado and a A cutesy-looking Batman holding some roses over it and just looking sad Got my I mean it locked my throat up when I saw it.

I was like I mean Very well played because of it Warner Brothers is not publishing their box office numbers all weekend As we said earlier neither is anyone else There are trailers for a movie called gangster squad that if you've seen the trailer it looks really good But there is a scene in the trailer of and all out of salt on a movie theater. They have pulled those trailers Any gun references in the dark night rises have been removed from TV spots and trailers right Also there were rumors this has not been followed up on but there are rumors that there were rumors at one point Especially in Los Angeles that they were not going to allow People in costume to come in which they probably shouldn't be doing anyway I kind of agree with you there and I think This makes that a precedent I think now I think that's going to happen. Yeah, I think people are gonna say look we love the fact that your fans and we think it's awesome However for your safety as well as the safety of everyone in the theater, please You want to wear a t-shirt like I had my big Batman t-shirt on That's fine, but do not come in full garb Because we can't have it.

Yeah, like like for instance like when you were talking about the universal studios You know nights of horror or thing or whatever I know that locally here at six flags over Texas when they do fright fest right fest They used to let people come in in costume Don't we're going through the park they won't let you do that anymore because if you perform some kind of a heinous act For all they know Elisability it was a park employee that did it and they could pin it on the park and Someone gets away with it's got free cuz they're in disguise, but I also want to defer to you Of Chad if you would and kind of fill our audience in on how this has impacted the film world wide Oh goodness, well they canceled the Paris premiere The date that this happened and then they announced I just read earlier today that they canceled the event a major premiere event in Mexico and Was it what was the other one? See the China our Moscow I believe it was Moscow I mean all over the place I mean they're just they're shutting down these major red carpet premieres all over the world because of this And There was a I love the statement that no one put out. Yeah, I love it.

I mean even even Christian bail put out a statement about it today This is just Okay, like a writer for e although a lot of the stuff he put on his article was way off based But he did say something to the effect that I did kind of agree with it This may be some of the heaviest baggage a film has ever been asked to carry Yeah, yeah because Right or wrong It's not the movies fault But people are going to associate this tragedy with this movie because it just of a associate You would see it was even worse is there's two things said one This is what 15 miles from combine? I don't I don't know what the distance it geographically. I don't know It's like 14 miles from combine or You know, that's enough said on that and then at one girl that survived that shooting Toronto There was one girl that that she had she had served there was a shooting in a Toronto mall that she She missed it by like three minutes and she decided to go to get a greasy burger instead of sushi But had she gone to get the sushi she would have been there and she was one of the actual fatalities in this thing.

I mean my god. I mean you you had a six-year-old there Not I mean I know people are making a big a really big deal about the three-month-old the three-month-old is fine It's back and it's already back home with its family. That's good.

So it's so it's fine I say it because I don't know the gender as well as the six-year-old. I don't I don't believe the six-year-old was a casualty I know for a fact the three-month-old was not I've read that on multiple postings but It's just heartbreaking that You know every time something like this happens You feel a little bit more of the innocence has been lost For people go we want to know in statement. Yeah, go ahead and go with that No, this is no one the Christopher Nolan director of the dark-night rises his statement Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew of the dark-night rises I would like to express our profound sorrow at this senseless tragedy that has been following the entire aurora community I would not presume to know anything about the victims of the shooting But that they were there last night to watch a movie I believe movies are one of the great American art forms and the shared experience of watching a story Unfold on screen is an important enjoyable past time The movie theater is my home and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and Hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me Nothing any of us could say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime But our thoughts are with them and their families Very well said and when you have the present at state say something on this and and and when I saw one of the survivors say Where is it safe to go now?

No, whenever when you go to the movies you should be able to escape and be at a Warner Brothers has also pulled all of their cast Appearance is spreading to their screens. They probably will debate me that it should have been higher up on the list But this was a hard one to place in my opinion because it was so good and was so unexpected to good Xman first class I mean, I knew an Xman film had to be a part of this list and I actually originally had Xman two down As my favorite of that series and and then jewels actually had to say what about first class? I'm like Yeah, oh, yeah And for me Xman two was I love Xman two because of what they set up at the end with the dark Phoenix thing and then they completely bumbleed it So X3 was terrible.

Yeah, number five Burton's first Batman film Yeah, I saw that movie so many times and the three days three day window that I had between The day of release and the day I had a report to go into the Navy. I think is the greatest comic book film Ever made You talk about a film where anything could have gone wrong Wow so many things could have gone wrong He had Joss Wheaton had such a full plate and such a diverse group of actors to work with And he nailed it absolutely nailed it And as much as I've loved Superman growing up with that being the bar 78 Superman being the bar Finally we're gonna take it start taking comic book film seriously and as great as the dark night was This was this was the the film that we geeks have been waiting on all our lives It was so much fun I don't know that I could put that above the dark night well because the dark night was such a A serious movie there really was not a lot of Light in that never it was again a very dark film because it had to be But Avengers is something that you could pretty much put on an uncontinuous loop and I would never get tired of watching it It was so much fun Whereas like like I think we talked about it dark night is more like a a a 5-course 5-star dinner Whereas this thing is a pizza party Not trying to have to apples and oranges though Well, I mean they're they're two completely different types of films they really are Whereas dark night is is is a brilliant piece of filmmaking The Avengers as a is a blast It's just a the best roller coaster you've ever been on Everybody contributed everybody did their part to make that movie great You know Know what again apples and oranges though.
