there will be pictures oh it's rocking also joining us across the desk is the official fact checker of this show and a man who might be a little distracted because his Steelers are playing on Sunday night football you may know him as fun don go but his mama name him Don Ford I'm gonna call him Don Ford welcome sir we have a show tonight we do have okay if you were just hanging out at my house and we had microphones in front of us that would be a little weird but we also have two very very special guests with us tonight representing the movie brothers they have a great YouTube show we want to make sure everybody checks it out we'll have a link up to our website later probably within the next couple of days first of all we want to welcome Anthony Ante Johnson to the show welcome sir what's cracking and a man I have been trying to get on this show for five and a half years it shows persistence pays off people this is a guy that Chad and I have known for a decade and a half geography has never been our friend in trying to get this guy on the show but he made the track here from the other side of town tonight ladies and gentlemen Kevin Daniels is here welcome sir what to do what it is so good to have you here it's a pleasure to be here thank you we've got a lot to talk about so let's just go ahead and get underway we always start with corrections because Lord knows we can't get things right on this show I didn't hear anything out of our show from from survivor series that really stuck out no it unless you did by the way we want to thank our hosts from our undisclosed about there so we're gonna start because we are your one stop shop for all things sports and entertainment let's start with some NBA big announcement comes down big depending on who you are and I don't want to mention any names but his initials are me this probably should have come down a couple of years ago but Kobe Bryant has announced that this season will be his final season when you're shooting 22% probably a good time yeah I mean the guys got rings I he'll never I think part of the reason he's hung around is he really thought he'd get that sixth one the tie Michael Jordan let's be honest the Lakers aren't setting anything on fire right now except their own bus but I kind of like I mean Kobe's kind of taken a different angle here it's a more a more human Kobe I guess you could say like he put up a huge post on Derek Geter's website that he's created he's actually going to when he goes to each city if this is the final time he's gonna play there he's actually talking about like they were in Philly this past week and he talked about how every time he went to Philly there was always certain places that would like there would be a cheat stake left for him from a specific restaurant in his locker after the game and so I think he's kind of a chronicling this thing and I believe his last stop in Dallas is in February I believe I know somebody that's gonna be oh absolutely friend of the show Jimmy Silva's gonna be there for sure but not only that you've also got the Jamil Okafor problem on the other side of that coin this kid can't get out of his own way I don't know if you've heard anything no I'm not familiar with this he's getting in fights outside at night clubs because people are heckling him there's people that have all this stuff on video from different angles dude you play for the sixers let's not get stupid with it I mean it's it's not pretty what's going on with him right now but you know what hopefully he's a kid he's fresh out of college hopefully he can learn some things and move on along a little bit you don't manzell yourself out of a career manzell's gonna manzell himself I'm career for just saying I'm just saying so this will be the first week that we've covered NBA because we always give the NBA in the NHL season about a month to get up and running because there's not much to talk about otherwise so let us go to the Eastern Conference in the Atlantic Division congratulations Philly for winning a game and I mean that literally because there are one and twenty right now when you're you won one game and you're 11 back question can you do some kind of America's favorite we're gonna talk about that with hockey remember hockey we're gonna talk about hockey tonight we have to do America's favorite game show in hockey they are five games behind Brooklyn Brooklyn is four back on the Nickerbuckers the Knicks are a game and a half back on Boston Boston only a half game back on Toronto and if you think about it the seasons a quarter of the way done gosh you you you blink and it's yeah it's on Toronto's twelve and nine so in the central division millowake at eight and thirteen there's still seven games better than Philly but they are five and a half back a little bit closer division here they are three and a half back on Detroit Detroit a game and a half back on Indiana who's tied with Chicago Chicago's really trying to hang in there right now because they're just they can't not have people injured it's it's kind of in their contract I don't know but Cleveland has a one-half game lead in that division but Cleveland's lost three in a row in the southeast division the Washington Wizards some theorized could be the future home of Kevin Durant don't hold your breath but they are eight nine they're three and a half back right now they're a game and a half behind Orlando Orlando's a half game back on Charlotte Charlotte's a half game back on Atlanta and my beloved Miami heater actually leading the division asking me this in a week it's gonna be different but for right now we're leading the division in the Western conference the Northwest division Denver at eight and thirteen is four back but they've won two in a row they're a game behind Minnesota Minnesota is tied with Portland they are both a game in a back game and a half back on Utah Utah is now a game and a half back on Oklahoma City but Oklahoma City's lost two in a row so things are getting weird up there in the Pacific division the aforementioned Lakers you know how I know they're not gonna win there's two games better than Philly right now three and 16 they are 17 games back there three games back on Sacramento Sacramento is a game and a half back on phoenix phoenix is three back on decleapers but golden state 21 and O children yeah that still blows my mind they what did they say that for was it for Kobe to match the number of three pointers that Steph Curry is hit so far he'd have to take seven hundred more shot yeah and Steph Curry first of all the kid is amazing what is the best regular season record oh they've got it right now I mean out of the game oh that's the 92 bull 72 and 10 72 and 10 is the best record in the history of the NBA but look up Steph Curry's agreement with his wife on three pointers that's all I'm saying on air if you want to you guys want to ask me when we get done I'll tell you but it's a very interesting agreement that he has with his wife on the number of three pointers he makes in a game tell him Sam okay and in the in the Southwest division I'll be your division sir the New Orleans delicans are 11 and a half back they're four games better than Philly they are a four and a half back on Houston Houston the game and a half back on your beloved Dallas Mavericks who are tied with the Memphis Grizzlies right now but San Antonio I want to know I want every member of the San Antonio Spurs drug tested daily because how is it that they're 17 and four and their average age is 140 I don't get it share at all there just there's McAfee doing a standup my favorite player on the NFL Coltspunner pat McAfee all right so as a performance enhancing drug considered met a musul in San Antonio let us keep moving and do some some television talk yeah nice got let's just say don't just met this could be one of my favorite songs in the history of ever it's it's up there yeah it's it's in my top five and in kids kids out there listening if you ever want to know what the late seventies and early eighties if you want to encapsulate in about four and a half brother I'm not gonna bet you on that but you know that that's the trippy thing about Michael Jackson man I mean you got kids one year one years old to someone that's a hundred years old and they love Michael Jackson just the same he's timeless he's timeless kids today love Mike my daughter is is your daughter's no exception you know how huge of a prince fan I am yeah yeah that's how big my daughter is a Michael believe it or not and I had nothing no influence on that at all happened or he really did just happens there's there's nothing that you have to do about it they hear it they're hooked right Michael Jackson and Phil Collins that's his kid and the Pesh mode yeah that's his kid oh and seal I'm always man your kid has the most eclectic taste in music but we're talking about the Wiz live that aired on NBC Thursday nights there were a lot of skeptics going into this because they kept announcing casting and I'm going first of all Kevin you talked you know I talked about this in pre-show the original is just like it's in a category by itself and I was like when NBC and now they were doing this I was like and let's be honest with you it's not the greatest movie ever made but however the music is just phenomenal if it's on you stop now yeah absolutely but it garnered over 11 million viewers Thursday night the best they have done in one of their live productions yet and they've owned this is the third one I believe yeah after the sound of music and your Peter Pan I still can get both of them yes did very very well so I'm sure they're probably going to re-show it at least once I hear a clock rock in this captain hook you just can't get it out of your head congratulations to super girl it has received a full-season order from CBS I am one episode behind right now it's the really the episode I don't want to behind because it's the red tornado and well deserved well deserved my only problem with it right now is I really just want that strong super heroine I don't think we need the love triangle right but I'll tell you who's killing on that show is Callista Flockhart I'm not a huge Callista Flockhart fan but she's doing really well on that show and they're telling the story at a good enough pace that you can kind of you can jump on it anytime right they have talked already talked already talking about the flash crossover all right because Guggenheim's got both I'm sorry Briland he's got both of them so and it's a lot the story time is very similar between the two right arrows kind of off on its own thing but but this is also why in Chad and I talked to this on multiple occasions why couldn't we have put Gotham set when he was at least a teenager that would have been much better and you could cross everything over and everybody's happy right and they're trying to kind of show an older more mature Bruce Wayne but he's like 10 so yeah sure can he actually be and I'm one episode behind on that too Russ is in the chat room good to see you sir also they've cast silver banshee for Supergirl she will be played by an Italia Ritchie and I've seen a side by side it's pretty close it's good I'm not sure if I'm familiar with that character this this I believe this is a villain that they've more focused on in the new 52 right okay okay so did a little reading on that today congratulations Star Wars Rebels renewed for season three no brainer from the Depart from the obvious institute that show just gets better I have I've only watched the first episode so you want to talk about something is better with time every single episode tops one that came these last two that are right and they're they're telling their they're telling that show they're that story so well yes and I'm I guess I've only watched the first episode so hopefully sometime the next I've got a I've got another vacation coming up you are in for it you are in for it oh I'm ready to give you dive in you're gonna be like oh good god oh Russ says the Andy Griffith show is going to show two episodes in color Christmas day on CBS I do remember because they did Lucy last year and there's seeds in my mind I want to work some of the main color of the greatest bits of all I want some of the main color of the I think maybe RFD maybe but I don't think the Andy Griffey itself was I think maybe one or two maybe I mean maybe the last we have to look at that up yeah but yeah but I think I'm pretty sure maybe RFD was but I don't think the original Andy Griffith show ever was Kevin Bacon because he can is producing and starring in a tremors series when your original film co-stars Reba McIntyre that's all I'm saying but this is happening hey Reba had a strong run on what was that the WB oh yeah I think my wife enjoyed that quite so they stopped the following and put this on instead I know the following was one of your shows sir you enjoyed it very much also Fox is doing and as working on a new show with Stallone Rambo new blood it's gonna be him and his kid oh man can't you see a short that's that's what I'm reading short movie it's gonna be a series movie television yeah just of course coming off if you haven't checked out the movie brother's review of Creed it's out there after as much as you guys have lauded Stallone in this film then this happens how great he was in this movie though it's like the kid gonna do visit Rambo in the VA home or something but you know what he's not gonna be he's not gonna be greedy and lazy we know that get ready children Samurai Jack is coming back in 2016 I am so happy outstanding I see a marathon in my future I want to go back to that whole shell oh I can hook you up with that but they are promising brand new episodes in 2016 they haven't said how many they haven't said if they've got everybody back but your major players are involved so I'm good because he never got home I don't have nothing I don't have like quantum leap he never made it back so give me some more Dexter I'm good just saying well that might be a little tough patent Oswald has signed on to be the son the son of the guy with the black hair at the streak in it in the mst3k reboot he joins Felicia day and Jonah Ray as part of this deal they've almost got the thing fully funded they've been doing a Kickstarter for it I'm a little leery as am I but it's mst3k so you know I'm at least gonna give it a shot and the fact that they're crowdfunding the whole thing 5.5 million dollars is gonna get 12 12 episodes and they've almost got it wow they got over a million in the first day good Lord see another marathon coming in my future so Peter Jackson has an interesting video announcement that he makes a couple of weeks ago this was clever that led up to the announcement he will be directing an episode of Doctor Who coming very soon they have been after him for a long time to do this I know your wife who is a British descent is a huge fan and he is are you guys watching Doctor Who at all I watched it when I was a kid I can't get into the current iteration yeah I can't you know I tried to get into it for some reason then I have a hard time there's so many Doctor Who's I don't know which one is fun and watch I just don't know enough about it but every time I do sit down and try to watch it it is that's very least interesting I recommend starting with Eccleston go Eccleston tenant Smith and then Capaldi okay that way you don't you don't have to go all the way back to the very beginning yeah everybody's telling me tenant don't go all the way back to the very beginning because Doctor Who apparently used to be like Sesame Street back and then more or less yeah Eccleston was the one right before him it's when they brought it back after a long hiatus Eccleston wasn't around very long and the tenant took over that's my wife's favorite partner fact check yeah any Griffith first five seasons were black and white how many seasons were there I think there was six or eight Russell says it went color in 1965 so Russ got you on that one and it's gonna be the season 8 okay so it's gonna be the pickle story and the Christmas story they'll be hearing so if you've been watching Gotham I have caught up spoiler alert in three two don't say the one in the next to the last episode because I haven't watched the fall finale yet Silver St.

Cloud reveals the name of the man who killed Bruce's parents was an M alone he has been cast Michael Bowen's going to play him which I'm assuming after the break because they just had the fall finale do we know who this guy is as far as I recognize them but nothing that I that made me go oh that guy yeah the name doesn't really really bring bring a bill to me and I have to say this is Silver St. Cloud this is what happens when you cheat on Adam Goldberg it's all I'm saying are you watching that Kevin I am the Goldberg is one of the best shows on television yes by a country mile yes I've heard that in it that kind of couple episodes it's not bad it's what that 80s show should have been yes it's so and as much as I'm not a huge fan of Jeff Garland as a person he's great on that show and why Wendy McClendon Covey has not won an Emmy yet is beyond me oh she's a Sarah cool she's like the 80s wonder years you got some issues with Jeff Garland though huh yeah I've heard him on a couple of different podcasts that he's not the most pleasant individual in the planet he kind of spent most of the time just making fun of the hosts oh wow just you know I mean we call that Thursday but some some host can't handle that as well a and E apparently is remaking roots oh my god oh say it ain't so again listen to this cast T.I. what wait what T.I.

McCuy Fyfer James Purifoy Matthew Good Forest Whitaker Anna Pacquan Jonathan Reese Myers Lawrence Fishburn and Derek Luke is this the most rollercoastery cast you've ever heard in your life man that thing was all over the place shoot me now okay there are there are certain things that you will leave alone just and you you're speaking to two brothers right now you know leave roots alone okay I mean it could be worse he can add the Kardashians to you leave that alone sir you drive right by that block Holly would just loves the slave movies do it is driving me nuts don't don't get him started on that he and I he and I differ we almost came to blows over 12 years of slave yes we did I can't get through that movie I couldn't watch more than 20 minutes I'm terrible to me I watch the whole thing but I want it to vomit yeah that's why and that's not all that movie was phenomenal it's just too painful yeah I just it is painful Kevin I rate films like 1 out of 10 scale I gave it like a zero wow I know how many films have that rating that's the history what you got right there that's probably the only one I think I wonder how did this get the best pictures what you're wondering absolutely no that's absolutely that movie was incredible I loved it I did I just I love the artistry of it I mean that movie was just phenomenal I saw David Boriannis and Emily Deschanel are suing Fox over unpaid profits from bones for what I am quoting tens of millions of dollars yes and really bones is one of the few shows that networks got going for it right now it kind of keeps Fox a float doesn't it and my wife loves that show and let me see something when you're crossing that show over with sleepy hollow what have they really yes they did it cost over with sleepy hollow oh oh that's right they did that shows you that's that's your big horse that your itching your your cart to because you're using that to help the ratings of your other shows yeah so we'll keep you apprised on that now this Thursday let's go a little happier note this Thursday or maybe it I don't know about my collapse here in a minute I don't know if I call it happy this Thursday on ABC at eight Eastern they are going to air a 20th anniversary special of Toy Story there's 20 years 20 years ago this year and then they're going to show the movie right after it and we owe that's what I'm you're you're okay let me say something I put on on on Twitter last week thriller turned 33 last week which I did hashtag old man rob hashtag you all you kids get off my lawn I was in I was in the fourth grade over in that little bookcase over there the vinyl does exist oh yeah only way out to really listen to it now when you open up the vinyl and there he is laying there with the little tiger yeah dope man it was dope still is not a bad track on that entire album no is there gonna be another Toy Story coming out yeah it's actually in production right now we're gonna talk about that a little bit later in movie talk I do actually I also have the 20th anniversary where it's got the interview with Quincy and he talks about when they wrote Billie Jean it was about a woman that was crazy that came after him and said she was the father of one of her twins wow but let the math settle in one of the math settle in well they speak in a Quincy let's go back to the Wiz for a second that's what made the Wiz so great was Quincy Jones produced absolutely did he have did he have anything to do with this I don't know that he did I don't know that he did because I would think they to put his name on it and I don't remember seeing his name right anything because he's a guy you want to put that out there if he is yeah and if you're friends of Fargo they have said that season three will be back in present day season two I think took place in the late 70s I like the movie couldn't get into the show but maybe I watched a couple and that was it yeah I love the film but I have not seen the show I just kind of feel like there's so many shows I have right now like one more is just like that might be the this straw that just breaks the camel's back you'll reach critical mass at that point but I know but you know my DVR yeah one of my shows ends this week the league the final episode of the league is this week say it's a extended episode and I'm a one like one episode behind I think I do love that show more more than more than Buffett yes I have some of the rare stuff you'll I have an album first strike that was before that did you know that he was a leopard fan yeah we are talking about deaf leopard deaf leopard releases a new album what about a month ago give or take yeah very excited to hear it because I'm I'm I'm gonna say a huge deaf leopard fan but I enjoy their fine work I saw them on the hysteria tour so did I and you came to me and you said dude I'd get you a copy of this album but I cannot in good faith do that explain yourself it was weak as water what's the name of it uh deaf leopard oh so it's it's it's it's upon the kids like to say it's they have they're just not what they used to be oh I agree and now don't have you heard the new album no now see barbed wire is a huge deaf leopard fan as well he said he got to track he he only listened to the previews like you get an iTunes a little 15 second snippets he's like there's no way I'm buying this and here's my question if you're deaf leopard why do you need to do new information go out there roll out the hits for an hour and a half good night America give me a check are you talking like Russian how Buffett does that and all that you have rush does new material well when they go on tour though they play mostly the people want to hear the old stuff yeah but it's about an 80 20 so much because I've seen rush twice a song here there but most when he always plays the standard but Buffett gets it though yeah and it's like how often does Buffett put out a new album about twice a decade maybe yes I'm like that but he knows you go out there you roll out the hits the big ten you always plays it every show people love it yes you move on yeah and I I don't it's it's kind of like to me on a certain level you're almost tarnishing your your legacy uh-huh I'll give you an idea I have an album called first strike which came out before on through the night which is right you're peeing right that was their first I have that I have a picture disc visteria from your pain and your disc you hear that I only had there's a handful 3000 copies made of that that's how from the beginning until after hysteria adrenaline was okay but after that they just hit the gunner they had pyromaniate is one of the greatest albums oh pyromaniate in hysteria back to back well pyromaniate even tops hysteria but I'm just saying you can play those two back and back great the high and dry and but they've had moments like yeah uh X had promises which I think it's a good I really like that song it's a it's a little poppy for them but I like that song but what I don't understand is you we now live in an age where we are old enough that the guys that we grew up on can do retro tours I agree you know and you can do that and people will come see it I don't understand why you have to go we need new material I mean even if you're sick of playing it there's somebody in that room that's hearing it for the first time you know there's certain stuff that we play in grace D that we play every show but you know what there's somebody in that room that A wants to hear it or B has never heard it before Damascus time how many times you think buffets about 19 million yeah but you know what he still goes out there and he still gets it done because what do we what do we say on this show how many times is the beach boys played surfing USA 19 billion yeah but what do we say on this show you got to give the people what they want you know I wouldn't saw hall notes open for Chicago this was gosh probably 18 years ago or so and they were like we're gonna play some songs off our new album no give me out of touch give me adult education give me method of modern love give me man eater and move it on give me the big 10 what was the what was the show you're at were skittered was we're gonna over skittered in three hours down they were like we're gonna do a medley of old skittered classics and I was like aren't they oh oh skittered classics let me say some un leopard I mean their stuff from hysteria before was one group their stuff nowadays it's not even them and when people realize the group should realize and say hey this is when we were big when we rock not this little princess pop stuff that's gonna be on kiss FM you know the MTV okay I mean it's gonna they were a totally different group than they are now and they should maybe realize that and go back and say hey if we're gonna do something let's bring back the style of music that got us popular from pyro or high or high and dry high and tries incredible album I agree with you this is amazing I mean bringing on a heartbreak with six six six six twenty five incredible and now the stuff they got and it's like I I'm glad I think do you feel like you still have something left to say they don't need to I agree with you I'm I'm I'm I'm so thankful I didn't get the deflapper tattoo which I almost did oh man you do have a stealers tattoo though you do I just I don't know like what do you have to prove at this point you know what I mean I understand part of it that they feel like they want to remain relevant and they're trying to remain relevant yeah and they're showing the money sign but you're gonna make that money we have somebody joining us in the chat room Jedi spam it says just say no to glam metal it depends on who you're going to see okay we just we just saw that you just saw the geico commercial with what might be Europe it's who's doing the final countdown about three steps lower that's a little this this a little concerning for me but death leopard oh irony live show still gets it done irony when I saw death leopard you're up opened for death yeah you never had nice things to say no no I the final countdown is the biggest whipsong in them but you know what bond joby still out there getting it done I mean some of you are thinking to sell out it's stuff up again and sell Texas stadium no but on the tour they might do the ghost stadium but if they're to play something like what's they start the jackson whenever they come down exactly which is an outdoor venue here that seats about what 10,000 if you include the long star is starplex or whatever yeah yeah starplex is what it will always be yeah but it's I don't know it's like you shouldn't have to worry about it just go out there you're gonna make your money that's where I saw them actually people don't want don't want to hear the new stuff they want to hear photograph they want to hear bringing on the heartbreak they want it you know such great songs exactly rock of ages fooling but just don't worry about just go out there and do what you do women that's just me gods of war animal but and I've always said the thing about death leopard I said animal I think they write their lyrics they just all sit around they get snockering drunk and write down words and go that's on the song like if look at the opening uh verse of the probably their He don't care His stars Liam has Star Wars money too, but he's still the same but Liam only has a third of the Star Wars money that you and does And we all know about Liam decent Uh Reese Witherspoon is working on a biopic of Ruth handler the creator of Barbie The rumor had originally come out that she was playing Barbie in a live-action film and she was like no no no no I'm playing the creator in a biopic and she do that already was called legally blonde and they're they're talking a third one Oh, no, there are To all the rumors for the legally blonde three.

Well, it's a musical because It is a Broadway musical right now But you know, there were so many unanswered questions at the end of legally blonde too Did look how many leprechaun movies we've had? Okay, it's a whole different audience Would that be Reese Witherspoon in that one two and three? She's gonna do it.

Yeah, she's also wanted to direct it Oh race and uh Spice Girls two weather at it For those of you that don't know if you if you haven't seen a Christmas story first of all welcome back from 1972 um The house that was in that film you can act if you have enough money you can actually rent it out on christmas Eve And it goes to charity mm-hmm and it's also a museum. Yep. They have recently acquired the original red rider Beebe gun from the film and it is now on display.

That's cool at the house You know your you know your tour guide normally is for the museum tour. I don't remember the kid it played Randy Oh real lives in the house nice as the full-time proprietor. We got to see the musical version last year That was it.

It's wonderful and they actually had one of the actual leglands from the movie. I have my picture with it Yeah, uh, it's really a lot of story actually Two vindabrochum. Yeah, actually had three total.

Okay. Yeah, they of course they had it in the class case But it the the the uh the musicals a lot of fun And they actually take the right key like when he says fudge the entire audience is yellow and I didn't say fudge And they left the uh the Chinese restaurant scene in which kind of surprised me Give it how sensitive we are about everything. Oh, yeah That museum house.

It's in Cleveland. Yeah, they did all the inside shots at another location But out sites were that but they tried to turn that house Into as close as possible to the studio from from the different location where they film the you know the inside shots right So I mean, but yeah, you if you give enough money to charity and they do an auction every year You get a stay from six p.m. Christmas Eve till noon or Christmas morning and they even bring presents in and all that stuff in the middle of the night everything I watch the truck that is my christmas tradition every year as a christmas story is on tv and I'll watch that six times at least and christmas No, I mean, that's my christmas day.

Oh, okay When that there's nothing else on tv except a christmas story when I'm in And trading places believe it or not. Yeah, takes place during christmas. Uh-huh leave the weapon Die hard and die hard.

I'm gonna throw something at you Uh Somebody on twitter this week access asked Seth McFarlane Easy for me to say When he's finally gonna get off his death and do a family guy movie and his response was simply Soon. Oh boy, because you know they've already done one.

It just wasn't theatrically released It was that three part adventure the stewies are doing it's a three-parter But they're he says they're gonna do one. I gotta ask you a question. Sure.

I'm intrigued. Yeah, can't wait Yeah, it's a movie that I'm very much looking forward to the big short This is Christian Bales in this.

This is basically the story that takes place in 2005 of the guys that knew The mortgage collapse. Oh, yeah, yeah, that trailer is phenomenal. Yeah, so I'm very much looking forward to that A DVD and blu-ray new releases in places you get DVD and blu-ray new releases minions Love this movie I saw it.

Don't listen to ebony's or screwed over. Oh, yeah, I was a fun movie fun But it didn't have I I think the bar was so high that I don't think I'm at the bar that I like to don't get me wrong When it comes to all things minions I defer to the Justin Timberlake of this show Sharla Parker and she and I went and saw this together and we both loved it You know my kids didn't even want to see minions really that was the barometer for me and how old are your kids now? My kids are 11 and 13 That's the target demographic they had no desire they were born they had no desire I know you do I know you do so I really like this film.

I like it. I just didn't love it I thought it could be a little bit better the only thing about it is Sandra Bullock's voice didn't fit the character for me that was the only by only my only negative uh ant man Fantastic wonderful Which because now phase two is complete the Marvel Cinematic Universe phase two comes in have you seen this oh yeah It comes in the orb that with the jewel in it from Guardians of the Galaxy all the movies a bunch of extras I just don't have 220 dollars. No, not for that.

I've got phase one I own phase one with it in the in the suitcase. Right. I've got that with a test rack in it I can't that's just I can't commit to that.

That's like let's like buying that going out and buying a bb8 You know $179 or something for that thing and it's amp bought one. Yeah, I bought one fits in your hand amp bought one I haven't even opened it. I'm I'm debating on still whether I'm going to open it or not.

I think I will and I saw a bb8 at target for like 89 dollars and I'm that can't be the same one Have you seen the the full saw the huge tie fighter that fits the 12 inch figures? No, yes. Oh god You know how you know how what the 12 inch figures mean to me.

Yeah, they make a tie fighter that fits them now It's like a hundred bucks, I think Transporter refueled This movie is terrible. Don't buy it. It was made by a bunch of knuckleheads.

Don't buy it I didn't like it uh it's speaking of knuckleheads Knock knock There's no way this movie this movie was in theaters like three weeks ago This kid our Reeves Dreck oh god where he plays the guy whose family goes out of town and a two-girl show up his house And then there's a little and then they freak out the next day It got let's put it to this way. It got exquisite acting On Babylon a few weeks ago. Just go back and listen to that section Because we can't really talk about the lines on this show The criterion collection releases speedy and jellyfish eyes this week And your WWE release is o and heart heart of gold That's finally coming out this week Speedy and out what they're two their foreign films.

Okay You don't wrap up my head around that. You know how how Obscure criterion gets something. Yes, he can pull that off He will he will pull that off. Yep fantastic four and the first eighty percent of that movie so good and then the end of it It's just so terrible. Oh I had such high hopes as did I I think I was the only one of the three of us that had set the bar fairly high and then I did And then as of like two weeks ago Rooney Morris still hasn't seen it She's not missing anything.

He's a she was there. She did But anything like Kevin anything that you can think of that's that's needs to be on more people's radars than it is Uh, not at the moment. I think right now the force awakens is just basically, you know Clocking up everybody's brains and that weekend will that Sunday the 20th will be doing our best of and worst over the year That's gonna take up the whole show.

Okay, unless anything earth shattering happens We have we're reserving that night for our best of and worst of the year. Okay Sleeper I would throw at you now. This is you know, not big feature, but on Netflix Beast of no nation.

Yeah, I've got that in my queue. You've got to see that you've got to see that if I had to mention our sleeper I would say beast of no nation and right now you can't even call that a sleeper because that cleaned up at the Independent spirit. Yeah, right.

That's true. That's true. And this is I mean It was an interesting I saw and the two kids in this film that who I believe Have never acted before.

That was that first time really first time Phenomenal and I'm a huge at yourself a phenomenal. These two kids, you know, we'll blow you away Really they really will they're that good And I mean I'd yourself I'm already sold because he is one of the greatest villains in the history of television It is a brutal movie. Oh, I'm sure it is but stringer bell is one of the greatest villains in the history of television You know, I was hoping people tell me you know, I've never watched the wire.

I'm like get out of my house Okay, that is one of the great I can't get him to start watching this show to save my life. I can't get you to watch some some Power these things makers not the wire All right, let's do some tech corner stuff Brother, I'm telling you the wire is one of the greatest series ever in the history of it at bar Because it's plus you have HBO versus effects. I mean they get away with more The first awakens is coming to disney infinity's 3.0.

There is a trailer up. I have not watched it yet That trailer alone will get you psych for the boot really. I haven't seen it.

I've seen it And I had to stop down and I had to rewind it on my DVR. It was that it was that cool really. Oh, yeah, so I have to check that out Also, we want to give a shout out to a brand new establishment if you're in the Dallas, Fort Worth area up in Richardson There's a brand new place just opened this weekend.

I stumbled on it on Facebook. It's called free play arcade It's up on belt line road just west of Jupiter road It is It's a place where it's a $10 cover and they have 60 Classic arcade games in their cabinets and it's all you can play They have a bar with some local craft beer. They sell PBR tall boys If that tells you anything wow.

Yeah, and they've got some tabletop games. They've got the asteroids tabletop version Oh my gosh, which is crazy. I played Donkey Kong.

I played the original Mario Brothers They have two of those choice 10 machines. I forgot to tell you about that. Oh, the play choice 10s Yeah, they had two of those so I got to play a little Super Mario Brothers I rolling thunder.

So we got that going for you Any any any tech corner so if you guys want to cover before we get to the list Cricket okay We end We end every show with a list and that means the street lights on We end every show with a list in this episode is no exception It's Chad's turn and a very interesting list tonight sir you like we go live to the other end of the desk Everybody in this room and anybody that's listening to it more than likely you have a pulse if you yeah If you've known me for more than 13.5 seconds Uh, no that my musical hero icon is prince He stopped that he he stopped it He has been since since purple rain released in 84. I've been a devoted prince fan And it's been a pretty rough go the last decade or two Uh the last the last album that he released that I loved all the way through was back in 95 The gold experience So I wanted to try to encapsulate what I thought was the best examples of prince's music over the course of the last 20 years Post the gold experience because and how many albums does this cover You you would ask me about eight or nine at this point because sadly I couldn't come up with anything From oh seven to today It's been a struggle not one single song.

It has been a struggle was a standout track on on hit and run phase one on Plectrum Electrum or Gosh artificial age Um MPLS uh, I don't count that uh that really went him Uh, but MPLS was his elixir was hers Well, oh MPLS sound yeah MPLS sound and lotus flower was his yeah Elixir was brievalentine less said the better I'd rather go back and listen to Carmen Electra's solo album. She just had to take all of his cast off songs and record them But pretty much that's what he does with all of his little female hangers on the team But anyway um It's in its going chronologically. I didn't really want to rate them in order of of greatness or whatever I just went it's kind of hard to do that with him.

It really is So I started with what I think is my favorite standout track on emancipation from 96 already It is yes, hit it Let me get you a little volume here sir This is the love we make from emancipation. He recently Rekindled this on stage and it it was it was a show stopper And I mean in a lot of cases. That's what he opened the show with um I want to say on the 2010 tour and he would choose you.

I haven't seen him since then you he's seven and he would I mean the audience would just be crushed This song would start up and people were just blown away And that was my thing with emancipation. It has some really great moments. It's like I'm already going to give you an honorable mention from this album and it's the holy river the holy river I love that song.

There's there could be tons of honorable mentions from friends lover system mother wife Yeah, brother the plan leading into that from commasutra was good Face down somebody somebody I always forget face down on that I always think it's a new power soul joint to joint that base Solo in joint to joint tell you about your face. This is awesome album. It really is but it would make a great Single disc.

Yeah, you you trim the wheat from the chaff on that album you come up with one solid CD Yeah, of just great stuff and get rid of all the filler and it's a fantastic album. That's an excellent point Huh next one From the vault old friends for sale This song is always giving me goose bumps. It's quick.

It's to the point And it's less than two and a half minutes. It really is a you blink in this song's over Extraordinary and the title pretty much sums it up This is one of those songs like what rob and I have often said that if You play this song and you don't get none No, it's if you think you have if you think you're on that border And you play the song and it doesn't happen. You never had a chance to begin exactly There's and and you talk about this track as the diamond into poo poo.

Yeah, it really is because this this the vault was just Warner Brothers just unloading whatever they had to try to make anything they could. Oh, this was him unloading on the No, no, he gave them chaos in this quarter, which you notice nothing from that album. Yeah, it And and this were just his his contractual obligation outfit.

Yeah, and it just I remember listening going is there anything here and then I mean this is a great song, but you listen to the fault and you're just like Okay, yeah, yeah, well, and I managed to pull two tracks off of that album onto this list. Wow because the next track She spoke to me now you first heard this on if you're a spiky fan like you say This was on the girl. This is on the girl six soundtrack where she was nothing but prince and prince related artists on that album Oh, nothing.

Yeah, yeah To say we actually had a list one night of song or films who soundtrack was better than the movie That qualified. Yeah, yes It's just as one of those it was one of those films that made you a wisp and you're like, oh, that's a good song Oh, that's a good song, but that's an even better song Sometimes it's not any more When you're looking for the latter anyway Ready yes, we got another couple of back-to-back syrup on the album This was one of those albums that it kind of roller coasters for me because it's like it starts out kind of strong And then it kind of waivers and then it kind of comes back a little bit and then it kind of waivers again You basically summed up every prince album in the last 20 years, but that's but some of them were just consistently bad Yeah, yeah, but you had two rock solid entries on new power soul Which technically isn't a prince album That's it's marketed as a new power generation album and since he's alone on the cover That's face it. He's holding his gun mic on the cover.

It's a prince album. Let's not be let's not Oh, that's why that's his that's 1990. So we're only taking 95 on 1991 actually Yeah, I was in college.

That's right. I was in college for free. We're learning I love diamonds and pearls.

That's an album. I was in love with that blue pearl Speaking of Spike Lee, he directed the video for money. Don't matter tonight.

Mm-hmm. I thought he was working on Malcolm X And as much as I like this song get it just drop it We talked earlier about songs that if you think you might have a chance and it plays and nothing happens You never had a chance to begin with drop this You could just play the instrumental version of this y'all remember this video For the one my take directed it. Mm-hmm.

My take directed it. It was half of it's a performance piece with prince in this blue outfit The other half is a silent film with him meaning my day and Rito marino plays my day's mother. Wow I never saw it.

It's it's pretty cool, but this is the one and good god Oh I You want to call your mama slap her through the phone Chad is having a fit over here this this song it is probably one of my favorite print songs of all time It's just it's this song is a perfect storm This song it's just there's the emotion and the uh, it's like Join repetition is the song that crushes my soul You're right there. That's what this song reminds me. Yeah, it has it's got new wants is about it That just makes me think of joy and I love me.

It breaks minutes. Oh wow. It's an epic I'll play you a live version of join repetitions gonna make you cry here and I've got another version too I might have to send it to you.

Okay, you ready go go go When prince was marketing emancipation he made an appearance on muppets tonight Of all places. I remember this and this was the first time I ever heard this song He played this at the very end of the episode You know white outfit playing a white piano while muppets of angels floated over his head I thought you were gonna say miss piggy was laying on top of his piano. No Fabulous baker boy style and if you didn't have a lump in your throat in a tear in your eye by the time this performance ended You need to go to Walmart and buy a soul This was one of the most beautiful interpretations of a song of his I've ever seen visually and it was so simple If you can hunt down that episode of muppets tonight It's worth it if for no other reason he does starfish and coffee With a muppet of himself And this she gave her angels just featured on crystal ball Ready this one's obscure this one's really obscure he did a whole VH1 special with this song well it opened with it whenever Uh, scary spice interviewed him And it was scary spice asks symbol the scary questions and he opens The the the TV special with this song beautiful strange And it floated around unreleased for quite some time and then it wound up on the remix album of rave unto the joy fantastic called Oddly enough rave into the joy fantastic called beautiful strange This is one of those songs that will put goosebumps up and down anybody's back of again if they Have any kind of emotion at all if not you're just a scarecrow Ready yes Some people would argue that this was his come back album In 2000 it put him back on the on the public eye map he he dropped this video for musicology And then followed it up with a TV special that was simul cast on mtv vh1 and the et he did sweet thing by shock a calm yes He did he did he had that swivel chair with the mic in it.

Okay With his acoustic guitar and he did the a preview the acoustic set that he did on that tour A tour that came to this town twice. I saw it once Uh, if y'all even the one of y'all ever seen Prince Lion. Yep.

When have it what tour? I saw him. I don't remember which tour was us on the San Antonio.

It's probably around 97 or so Yeah, we saw him at reunion arena for the jam of the year tour. Yeah, did Larry Graham open for him? Yes Don't get him started on Larry Graham.

Please We're already at the two eleven mark. Well, Aubrey's uncle You know I took him this was the first time he'd ever saw Prince live I had an extra ticket for it. We went to reunion arena and saw him together.

Got a restaurant in the song. Yeah But I took my daughter for the first time to see prince on this tour and she was hooked on this song Candy Dull for brother to play these. Oh you do win some kudos Ready you go You remember this And an album that came and went yeah I remember I went to Baltimore on a Work trip and they were they had the posters for this everywhere in downtown Baltimore You remember that they were promoting Of a rise and phone.

I want to say it was like the chocolate phone I do remember this and they kept showing snippets of the video that never got released for guitar And it was one of those songs you're like okay, this I like this version of prince Where's this guy dancing for the last time we're years? I've always been a big fan of this song guitar Good good two more to go We do there's this one and one more okay When Jay Leno did his well first farewell show for the tonight show I mean come back when you ask me I mean board you he booked prince as his musical guest And prince played this somewhere here on earth And once again we were back in familiar territory You know at first I thought that was damn you It's it can easily be on another man on our momentum or I hate you Now that was on goal wasn't that was on goal I could we're we're way past goal One more and and a song coming up that I thought would would have done better than it Did And I'm surprised it didn't it didn't go anywhere and it could have been for lack of promotion As is often the case with prince and stuff You remember this one Kevin and the video for this was cool too to me It was the video reminded me so much of his video for kiss A bit it's him and another chick and he's just kind of good making these goofy reactions to what she's doing right Ice cube did a remix to this did he really black sweat That is sick But I was I was really like you expecting great things for this song. I was like man This is perfect.

This is great for radio and Nothing And it was a return to form for him. I mean it sounded like the prince that we grew up on and that's what we want to hear I mean it really is because we want him to the promise he doesn't want to do yeah Yeah, he always acts like that he doesn't want to go back and repeat himself But if you listen to mpls sound it sounds like stuff. He was doing in the 80s But it just doesn't get the promotion push that it should right Prince becomes his own worst enemy in a lot of cases.

Yeah, he does where he either listens to listens to the wrong people It puts out stuff that's dated or he listens to the right people And gets people on his albums that don't belong here But we still keep mind it. Yeah, well, we do. Yes, we do because we're sheep And we're waiting for that day where you know, we know the one album we don't buy is going to be the one exactly Now is there anything that you would have put on this list that I left off?

Yeah, I think out of that one item I named I mean There's there's been just such little things here and there That I agree with you on emancipation if you just got rid of the Name you you could make a decent one decent CD out of three. Right. I'm actually in the middle of a project right now Where do you remember whenever they did the very best of prince in 2001?

Yep Without his consent. I'm doing a volume two of my own. How are you of basically stuff from this?

I love that ultimate prince. He did with the remixes on it. Yeah.

Yeah, that remix of you got to look I'm such a fan. Oh, yeah, that's when I had a radio show in high school The the opening riff of that is what I just looped constantly while we were introducing each other Anything else? No, that's my list.

Anybody else got anything that they would throw out there? Because I know you're a fan. I'm a huge fan um But I think you covered it.

What what time period were you in again? 95 to now. Yeah, post-gold experience Yeah, that's a difficult that's a difficult period to really kind of draw from unless you are just a purist Um, you know, which I'd like to think that I am, but I think you pretty much covered it all because it's it's really hard to Latch on to anything that he's done in the last eight years because it all sounds so formulae Absolutely, or just weird.

It's just it's not him It's not the guy that we've listened to all our life. You know why? Because you're not gonna know who's father Shut up Kevin.
