episode next week will be at our TLC preview and then we're gonna get ready to
wrap up the year but I am not alone in the studio because lord knows nobody
wants that joining me across the desk is my co-host and a man who's gonna be a
king in six days he is chat welcome sir thank you my friend did you get

I'm sure there will be pictures oh it's rocking also joining us across the
desk is the official fact checker of this show and a man who might be a little
distracted because his Steelers are playing on Sunday night football you may
know him as fun don go but his mama name him Don Ford I'm gonna call him Don
Ford welcome sir we have a show tonight we do have okay if you were just hanging
out at my house and we had microphones in front of us that would be a little
weird but we also have two very very special guests with us tonight representing
the movie brothers they have a great YouTube show we want to make sure
everybody checks it out we'll have a link up to our website later probably
within the next couple of days first of all we want to welcome Anthony Ante Johnson
to the show welcome sir what's cracking and a man I have been trying to get on
this show for five and a half years it shows persistence pays off people this
is a guy that Chad and I have known for a decade and a half geography has never
been our friend in trying to get this guy on the show but he made the track here
from the other side of town tonight ladies and gentlemen Kevin Daniels is here
welcome sir what to do what it is so good to have you here it's a pleasure to be
here thank you we've got a lot to talk about so let's just go ahead and get
underway we always start with corrections because Lord knows we can't get
things right on this show I didn't hear anything out of our show from from
survivor series that really stuck out no it unless you did by the way we want to
thank our hosts from our undisclosed location for hosting us for WWE
survivor series to east go ahead and absolute blast we doing that pay for
thank you all right so NASCAR is over we have no NASCAR to act like we know
what we're talking about there so we're gonna start because we are your one
stop shop for all things sports and entertainment let's start with some NBA big
announcement comes down big depending on who you are and I don't want to
mention any names but his initials are me this probably should have come down a
couple of years ago but Kobe Bryant has announced that this season will be his
final season when you're shooting 22% probably a good time yeah I mean the
guys got rings I he'll never I think part of the reason he's hung around is
he really thought he'd get that sixth one the tie Michael Jordan let's be
honest the Lakers aren't setting anything on fire right now except their own
bus but I kind of like I mean Kobe's kind of taken a different angle here it's
a more a more human Kobe I guess you could say like he put up a huge post on
Derek Geter's website that he's created he's actually going to when he goes to
each city if this is the final time he's gonna play there he's actually
talking about like they were in Philly this past week and he talked about how
every time he went to Philly there was always certain places that would like
there would be a cheat stake left for him from a specific restaurant in his
locker after the game and so I think he's kind of a chronicling this thing and I
believe his last stop in Dallas is in February I believe I know somebody that's
gonna be oh absolutely friend of the show Jimmy Silva's gonna be there for sure
but not only that you've also got the Jamil Okafor problem on the other side of
that coin this kid can't get out of his own way I don't know if you've heard
anything no I'm not familiar with this he's getting in fights outside at night
clubs because people are heckling him there's people that have all this
stuff on video from different angles dude you play for the sixers let's not
get stupid with it I mean it's it's not pretty what's going on with him
right now but you know what hopefully he's a kid he's fresh out of college
hopefully he can learn some things and move on along a little bit you don't
manzell yourself out of a career manzell's gonna manzell himself I'm
career for just saying I'm just saying so this will be the first week that we've
covered NBA because we always give the NBA in the NHL season about a month to
get up and running because there's not much to talk about otherwise so let us
go to the Eastern Conference in the Atlantic Division congratulations
Philly for winning a game and I mean that literally because there are one and
twenty right now when you're you won one game and you're 11 back question can
you do some kind of America's favorite we're gonna talk about that with hockey
remember hockey we're gonna talk about hockey tonight we have to do America's
favorite game show in hockey they are five games behind Brooklyn Brooklyn is
four back on the Nickerbuckers the Knicks are a game and a half back on Boston
Boston only a half game back on Toronto and if you think about it the seasons a
quarter of the way done gosh you you you blink and it's yeah it's on
Toronto's twelve and nine so in the central division millowake at eight and
thirteen there's still seven games better than Philly but they are five and a
half back a little bit closer division here they are three and a half back on
Detroit Detroit a game and a half back on Indiana who's tied with Chicago
Chicago's really trying to hang in there right now because they're just they
can't not have people injured it's it's kind of in their contract I don't know
but Cleveland has a one-half game lead in that division but Cleveland's lost
three in a row in the southeast division the Washington Wizards some
theorized could be the future home of Kevin Durant don't hold your breath but
they are eight nine they're three and a half back right now they're a game and a
half behind Orlando Orlando's a half game back on Charlotte Charlotte's a half
game back on Atlanta and my beloved Miami heater actually leading the division
asking me this in a week it's gonna be different but for right now we're leading
the division in the Western conference the Northwest division Denver at eight
and thirteen is four back but they've won two in a row they're a game behind
Minnesota Minnesota is tied with Portland they are both a game in a back
game and a half back on Utah Utah is now a game and a half back on Oklahoma City
but Oklahoma City's lost two in a row so things are getting weird up there in
the Pacific division the aforementioned Lakers you know how I know they're
not gonna win there's two games better than Philly right now three and 16 they
are 17 games back there three games back on Sacramento Sacramento is a game and
a half back on phoenix phoenix is three back on decleapers but golden state 21
and O children yeah that still blows my mind they what did they say that for was
it for Kobe to match the number of three pointers that Steph Curry is hit so
far he'd have to take seven hundred more shot yeah and Steph Curry first of all
the kid is amazing what is the best regular season record oh they've got it
right now I mean out of the game oh that's the 92 bull 72 and 10 72 and 10 is
the best record in the history of the NBA but look up Steph Curry's
agreement with his wife on three pointers that's all I'm saying on air if you
want to you guys want to ask me when we get done I'll tell you but it's a very
interesting agreement that he has with his wife on the number of three pointers
he makes in a game tell him Sam okay and in the in the Southwest division I'll
be your division sir the New Orleans delicans are 11 and a half back they're
four games better than Philly they are a four and a half back on Houston Houston
the game and a half back on your beloved Dallas Mavericks who are tied with
the Memphis Grizzlies right now but San Antonio I want to know I want every
member of the San Antonio Spurs drug tested daily because how is it that they're
17 and four and their average age is 140 I don't get it share at all there
just there's McAfee doing a standup my favorite player on the NFL Coltspunner

kids one year one years old to someone that's a hundred years old and they love

daughter is is your daughter's no exception you know how huge of a prince fan I am
yeah yeah that's how big my daughter is a Michael believe it or not and I had
nothing no influence on that at all happened or he really did just happens
there's there's nothing that you have to do about it they hear it they're hooked
right Michael Jackson and Phil Collins that's his kid and the Pesh mode yeah
that's his kid oh and seal I'm always man your kid has the most
eclectic taste in music but we're talking about the Wiz live that aired on
NBC Thursday nights there were a lot of skeptics going into this because they
kept announcing casting and I'm going first of all Kevin you talked you know I
talked about this in pre-show the original is just like it's in a category by
itself and I was like when NBC and now they were doing this I was like and let's
be honest with you it's not the greatest movie ever made but however the
music is just phenomenal if it's on you stop now yeah absolutely but it
garnered over 11 million viewers Thursday night the best they have done in
one of their live productions yet and they've owned this is the third one I
believe yeah after the sound of music and your Peter Pan I still can get
both of them yes did very very well so I'm sure they're probably going to
re-show it at least once I hear a clock rock in this captain hook you just
can't get it out of your head congratulations to super girl it has received a
full-season order from CBS I am one episode behind right now it's the really
the episode I don't want to behind because it's the red tornado and well
deserved well deserved my only problem with it right now is I really just want
that strong super heroine I don't think we need the love triangle right but
I'll tell you who's killing on that show is Callista Flockhart I'm not a huge
Callista Flockhart fan but she's doing really well on that show and they're
telling the story at a good enough pace that you can kind of you can jump on it
anytime right they have talked already talked already talking about the flash
crossover all right because Guggenheim's got both I'm sorry Briland he's got both
of them so and it's a lot the story time is very similar between the two right
arrows kind of off on its own thing but but this is also why in Chad and I
talked to this on multiple occasions why couldn't we have put Gotham set when
he was at least a teenager that would have been much better and you could cross
everything over and everybody's happy right and they're trying to kind of show
an older more mature Bruce Wayne but he's like 10 so yeah sure can he actually
be and I'm one episode behind on that too Russ is in the chat room good to see you
sir also they've cast silver banshee for Supergirl she will be played by an
Italia Ritchie and I've seen a side by side it's pretty close it's good I'm
not sure if I'm familiar with that character this this I believe this is a villain
that they've more focused on in the new 52 right okay okay so did a little
reading on that today congratulations Star Wars Rebels renewed for season three
no brainer from the Depart from the obvious institute that show just gets
better I have I've only watched the first episode so you want to talk about
something is better with time every single episode tops one that came these last
two that are right and they're they're telling their they're telling that show
they're that story so well yes and I'm I guess I've only watched the first
episode so hopefully sometime the next I've got a I've got another vacation
coming up you are in for it you are in for it oh I'm ready to give you dive in
you're gonna be like oh good god oh Russ says the Andy Griffith show is going to
show two episodes in color Christmas day on CBS I do remember because they did
Lucy last year and there's seeds in my mind I want to work some of the
main color of the greatest bits of all I want some of the main color of the
I think maybe RFD maybe but I don't think the Andy Griffey itself was
I think maybe one or two maybe I mean maybe the last we have to look at that up
yeah but yeah but I think I'm pretty sure maybe RFD was but I don't think the
original Andy Griffith show ever was Kevin Bacon because he can is producing and
starring in a tremors series when your original film co-stars Reba McIntyre
that's all I'm saying but this is happening hey Reba had a strong run on
what was that the WB oh yeah I think my wife enjoyed that quite so they
stopped the following and put this on instead I know the following was one of
your shows sir you enjoyed it very much also Fox is doing and as working on a
new show with Stallone Rambo new blood it's gonna be him and his kid oh
man can't you see a short that's that's what I'm reading short movie it's
gonna be a series movie television yeah just of course coming off if you
haven't checked out the movie brother's review of Creed it's out there after as
much as you guys have lauded Stallone in this film then this happens how great
he was in this movie though it's like the kid gonna do visit Rambo in the VA
home or something but you know what he's not gonna be he's not gonna be greedy and
lazy we know that
get ready children Samurai Jack is coming back in 2016 I am so happy
outstanding I see a marathon in my future I want to go back to that whole
shell oh I can hook you up with that but they are promising brand new
episodes in 2016 they haven't said how many they haven't said if they've
got everybody back but your major players are involved so I'm good because he
never got home I don't have nothing I don't have like quantum leap he never made
it back so give me some more Dexter I'm good just saying well that might be a
little tough patent Oswald has signed on to be the son the son of the guy with
the black hair at the streak in it in the mst3k reboot he joins Felicia day and
Jonah Ray as part of this deal they've almost got the thing fully funded they've
been doing a Kickstarter for it I'm a little leery as am I but it's mst3k so you
know I'm at least gonna give it a shot and the fact that they're crowdfunding the
whole thing 5.5 million dollars is gonna get 12 12 episodes and they've
almost got it wow they got over a million in the first day good Lord see
another marathon coming in my future so Peter Jackson has an interesting video
announcement that he makes a couple of weeks ago this was clever that led up to
the announcement he will be directing an episode of Doctor Who coming very soon
they have been after him for a long time to do this I know your wife who is a
British descent is a huge fan and he is are you guys watching Doctor Who at all
I watched it when I was a kid I can't get into the current iteration yeah I
can't you know I tried to get into it for some reason then I have a hard time
there's so many Doctor Who's I don't know which one is fun and watch I just don't
know enough about it but every time I do sit down and try to watch it it is
that's very least interesting I recommend starting with Eccleston go
Eccleston tenant Smith and then Capaldi okay that way you don't you don't have
to go all the way back to the very beginning yeah everybody's telling me
tenant don't go all the way back to the very beginning because Doctor Who
apparently used to be like Sesame Street back and then more or less yeah Eccleston
was the one right before him it's when they brought it back after a long hiatus
Eccleston wasn't around very long and the tenant took over that's my wife's
favorite partner fact check yeah any Griffith first five seasons were black and
white how many seasons were there I think there was six or eight Russell says it
went color in 1965 so Russ got you on that one and it's gonna be the season 8
okay so it's gonna be the pickle story and the Christmas story they'll be
hearing so if you've been watching Gotham I have caught up spoiler alert in
three two don't say the one in the next to the last episode because I haven't
watched the fall finale yet Silver St. Cloud reveals the name of the man who
killed Bruce's parents was an M alone he has been cast Michael Bowen's going to
play him which I'm assuming after the break because they just had the fall finale do
we know who this guy is as far as I recognize them but nothing that I that made
me go oh that guy yeah the name doesn't really really bring bring a bill to me and
I have to say this is Silver St. Cloud this is what happens when you cheat on Adam
Goldberg it's all I'm saying are you watching that Kevin I am the Goldberg is
one of the best shows on television yes by a country mile yes I've heard that
in it that kind of couple episodes it's not bad it's what that 80s show should
have been yes it's so and as much as I'm not a huge fan of Jeff Garland as a
person he's great on that show and why Wendy McClendon Covey has not won an
Emmy yet is beyond me oh she's a Sarah cool she's like the 80s wonder years you
got some issues with Jeff Garland though huh yeah I've heard him on a couple of
different podcasts that he's not the most pleasant individual in the planet
he kind of spent most of the time just making fun of the hosts oh wow just you
know I mean we call that Thursday but some some host can't handle that as well
a and E apparently is remaking roots oh my god oh say it ain't so again listen to
this cast T.I. what wait what T.I. McCuy Fyfer James Purifoy Matthew Good
Forest Whitaker Anna Pacquan Jonathan Reese Myers Lawrence Fishburn and Derek
Luke is this the most rollercoastery cast you've ever heard in your life man
that thing was all over the place shoot me now okay there are there are certain
things that you will leave alone just and you you're speaking to two brothers right
now you know leave roots alone okay I mean it could be worse he can add the
Kardashians to you leave that alone sir you drive right by that block Holly would
just loves the slave movies do it is driving me nuts don't don't get him
started on that he and I he and I differ we almost came to blows over 12 years
of slave yes we did I can't get through that movie I couldn't watch more than
20 minutes I'm terrible to me I watch the whole thing but I want it to vomit
yeah that's why and that's not all that movie was phenomenal it's just too
painful yeah I just it is painful Kevin I rate films like 1 out of 10 scale I
gave it like a zero wow I know how many films have that rating that's the
history what you got right there that's probably the only one I think I wonder
how did this get the best pictures what you're wondering absolutely no
that's absolutely that movie was incredible I loved it I did I just I love the
artistry of it I mean that movie was just phenomenal I saw David
Boriannis and Emily Deschanel are suing Fox over unpaid profits from bones for
what I am quoting tens of millions of dollars yes and really bones is one of
the few shows that networks got going for it right now it kind of keeps Fox a
float doesn't it and my wife loves that show and let me see something when
you're crossing that show over with sleepy hollow what have they really yes they
did it cost over with sleepy hollow oh oh that's right they did that shows you
that's that's your big horse that your itching your your cart to because you're
using that to help the ratings of your other shows yeah so we'll keep you
apprised on that now this Thursday let's go a little happier note this
Thursday or maybe it I don't know about my collapse here in a minute I don't know if I
call it happy this Thursday on ABC at eight Eastern they are going to air a 20th
anniversary special of Toy Story there's 20 years 20 years ago this year and
then they're going to show the movie right after it and we owe that's what I'm
you're you're okay let me say something I put on on on Twitter last week thriller
turned 33 last week which I did hashtag old man rob hashtag you all you kids get off
my lawn I was in I was in the fourth grade over in that little bookcase over there
the vinyl does exist oh yeah only way out to really listen to it now when you
open up the vinyl and there he is laying there with the little tiger yeah dope man
it was dope still is not a bad track on that entire album no is there gonna be
another Toy Story coming out yeah it's actually in production right now we're
gonna talk about that a little bit later in movie talk I do actually I also have
the 20th anniversary where it's got the interview with Quincy and he talks about
when they wrote Billie Jean it was about a woman that was crazy that came
after him and said she was the father of one of her twins wow but let the math
settle in one of the math settle in well they speak in a Quincy let's go back to
the Wiz for a second that's what made the Wiz so great was Quincy Jones
produced absolutely did he have did he have anything to do with this I don't
know that he did I don't know that he did because I would think they to put his name
on it and I don't remember seeing his name right anything because he's a guy
you want to put that out there if he is yeah and if you're friends of Fargo they
have said that season three will be back in present day season two I think took
place in the late 70s I like the movie couldn't get into the show
but maybe I watched a couple and that was it yeah I love the film but I have not
seen the show I just kind of feel like there's so many shows I have right now
like one more is just like that might be the this straw that just breaks the
camel's back you'll reach critical mass at that point but I know
but you know my DVR yeah one of my shows ends this week
the league the final episode of the league is this week
say it's a extended episode and I'm a one like one episode behind I think
I do love that show and then it's always sunny comes back next month

sir how he's a fan of prince mm-hmm I'm a fan of this oh really the old more more than more than
Buffett yes I have some of the rare stuff you'll I have an album first strike that was before that
did you know that he was a leopard fan yeah we are talking about deaf leopard deaf leopard
releases a new album what about a month ago give or take yeah very excited to hear it because
I'm I'm I'm gonna say a huge deaf leopard fan but I enjoy their fine work I saw them on the
hysteria tour so did I and you came to me and you said dude I'd get you a copy of this album but
I cannot in good faith do that explain yourself it was weak as water what's the name of it uh deaf
leopard oh so it's it's it's it's upon the kids like to say it's they have they're just not what
they used to be oh I agree and now don't have you heard the new album no now see barbed wire is a
huge deaf leopard fan as well he said he got to track he he only listened to the previews like
you get an iTunes a little 15 second snippets he's like there's no way I'm buying this and here's
my question if you're deaf leopard why do you need to do new information go out there roll out

to me on a certain level you're almost tarnishing your your legacy uh-huh I'll give you an idea I
have an album called first strike which came out before on through the night which is right you're
peeing right that was their first I have that I have a picture disc visteria from your pain
and your disc you hear that I only had there's a handful 3000 copies made of that that's how
from the beginning until after hysteria adrenaline was okay but after that they just hit the
gunner they had pyromaniate is one of the greatest albums oh pyromaniate in hysteria back to back
well pyromaniate even tops hysteria but I'm just saying you can play those two back and back great
the high and dry and but they've had moments like yeah uh X had promises which I think it's a good I
really like that song it's a it's a little poppy for them but I like that song but what I don't
understand is you we now live in an age where we are old enough that the guys that we grew up on
can do retro tours I agree you know and you can do that and people will come see it I don't
understand why you have to go we need new material I mean even if you're sick of playing it there's
somebody in that room that's hearing it for the first time you know there's certain stuff that
we play in grace D that we play every show but you know what there's somebody in that room that
A wants to hear it or B has never heard it before Damascus time how many times you think buffets
about 19 million yeah but you know what he still goes out there and he still gets it done
because what do we what do we say on this show how many times is the beach boys played surfing USA
19 billion yeah but what do we say on this show you got to give the people what they want
you know I wouldn't saw hall notes open for Chicago this was gosh probably 18 years ago or so
and they were like we're gonna play some songs off our new album no give me out of touch give me
adult education give me method of modern love give me man eater and move it on give me the big 10
what was the what was the show you're at were skittered was we're gonna over skittered in three
hours down they were like we're gonna do a medley of old skittered classics and I was like aren't they
oh oh skittered classics let me say some un leopard I mean their stuff from hysteria before
was one group their stuff nowadays it's not even them and when people realize the group should
realize and say hey this is when we were big when we rock not this little princess pop stuff that's
gonna be on kiss FM you know the MTV okay I mean it's gonna they were a totally different
group than they are now and they should maybe realize that and go back and say hey if we're gonna
do something let's bring back the style of music that got us popular from pyro or high or high
and dry high and tries incredible album I agree with you this is amazing I mean bringing on a
heartbreak with six six six six twenty five incredible and now the stuff they got and it's like I
I'm glad I think do you feel like you still have something left to say they don't need to I agree
with you I'm I'm I'm I'm so thankful I didn't get the deflapper tattoo which I almost did oh man
you do have a stealers tattoo though you do I just I don't know like what do you have to prove
at this point you know what I mean I understand part of it that they feel like they want to remain
relevant and they're trying to remain relevant yeah and they're showing the money sign but you're

the geico commercial with what might be Europe it's who's doing the final countdown about three
steps lower that's a little this this a little concerning for me but death leopard

So I wanted to try to encapsulate what I thought was the best examples of prince's music over the course of the last 20 years
Post the gold experience because and how many albums does this cover
You you would ask me about eight or nine at this point because sadly
I couldn't come up with anything
From oh seven to today
It's been a struggle not one single song. It has been a struggle was a standout track on on hit and run phase one on
Plectrum Electrum or
Gosh artificial age
Um MPLS uh, I don't count that uh that really went him
Uh, but MPLS was his elixir was hers
Well, oh MPLS sound yeah MPLS sound and lotus flower was his yeah
Elixir was brievalentine less said the better
I'd rather go back and listen to Carmen Electra's solo album. She just had to take all of his cast off songs and record them
But pretty much that's what he does with all of his little female hangers on the team

It's in its going chronologically. I didn't really want to rate them in order of of greatness or whatever
I just went it's kind of hard to do that with him. It really is
So I started with what I think is my favorite standout track on emancipation from 96 already

Rekindled this on stage and it it was it was a show stopper
And I mean in a lot of cases. That's what he opened the show with um
I want to say on the 2010 tour and he would choose you. I haven't seen him since then you he's seven and he would I mean the audience would just be crushed
This song would start up and people were just blown away
And that was my thing with emancipation. It has some really great moments. It's like
I'm already going to give you an honorable mention from this album and it's the holy river the holy river
I love that song. There's there could be tons of honorable mentions from friends lover system mother wife
Yeah, brother the plan leading into that from commasutra was good
Face down somebody somebody
I always forget face down on that I always think it's a new power soul joint to joint that base
Solo in joint to joint tell you about your face. This is awesome album. It really is but it would make a great
Single disc. Yeah, you you trim the wheat from the chaff on that album you come up with one solid CD
Yeah, of just great stuff and get rid of all the filler and it's a fantastic album. That's an excellent point

This was one of those albums that it kind of roller coasters for me because it's like it starts out kind of strong

You basically summed up every prince album in the last 20 years, but that's but some of them were just consistently bad
Yeah, yeah, but you had two rock solid entries on new power soul
Which technically isn't a prince album
That's it's marketed as a new power generation album and since he's alone on the cover
That's face it. He's holding his gun mic on the cover. It's a prince album. Let's not be let's not
Oh, that's why that's his that's 1990. So we're only taking 95 on 1991 actually
Yeah, I was in college. That's right. I was in college for free. We're learning
I love diamonds and pearls. That's an album. I was in love with that blue pearl
Speaking of Spike Lee, he directed the video for money. Don't matter tonight. Mm-hmm. I thought he was working on Malcolm X

Fabulous baker boy style and if you didn't have a lump in your throat in a tear in your eye by the time this performance ended

This was one of the most beautiful interpretations of a song of his I've ever seen visually and it was so simple
If you can hunt down that episode of muppets tonight
It's worth it if for no other reason he does starfish and coffee

But it just doesn't get the promotion push that it should right
Prince becomes his own worst enemy in a lot of cases. Yeah, he does where he either listens to listens to the wrong people
It puts out stuff that's dated or he listens to the right people
And gets people on his albums that don't belong here
But we still keep mind it. Yeah, well, we do. Yes, we do because we're sheep
And we're waiting for that day where you know, we know the one album we don't buy is going to be the one exactly
