and my internet was down.

I know here, right about 2 a.m,
we got some hail here at the studio.

so I actually didn't get on air
to about 10,

And we are going to talk about some of the things

it's like we're starting to sound like a broken record

starting to get it now,
every single year.
It's some capacity.

But none of these older drivers race at a very high level.
And I think that maybe Jeff needs to start looking at
some things outside of the race racing.

I think that we all know Jeff's better days of racing are our way of
behind him.
Like the guy like what he stands for.

And if you DVR anything on the box network for the next two nights,
you may want to rethink that plan.
I still think it's going seven.

I still think that Saturday night was an anomaly.
I said last week on this show that I thought this was going to be a lot of free to
2110, a lot of real close games.
The fact that these two teams would have a combined 23 runs
and St. Louis had 16 of them on Saturday night.
I thought that was that was just, I don't know if the plan
it's were aligned wrong or if we were living in a parallel universe.
I just thought that was an anomaly.
And I didn't think you'd see that again.
And in the last night was a two run game.
So, I'll tell you one thing that has surprised me is that the ratings are so bad.
Yeah, worst rated game was a game three or game four ever.
Game four was ever and that.
What was that?
You actually heard that?
Yeah, I was sharpening my pencil.
I actually needed the microphone, but I did that.
I don't know how you heard that.
The ratings are atrocious.
And that shocks me with a team like St. Louis.
I really thought St. Louis might bring in some type of
their decent fan base.
Now, Missouri is still a very small market.
Right.
But I kind of thought they'd bring in more viewership.
And I guess everybody that's a Ranger fan.
I guess they're going to the games.
For what I heard from a, from a witch of tall falls of affiliate from a local fan
that maybe we know.
Great day for the city of Dallas.
They didn't have a play in Dallas.
That was a, that was a friend of the show.
David was actually interviewed on a local witch of tall falls CW affiliate.
He pointed to me, they had it on the website.
He was out there tailgating after the game.
No, and I think that's a problem with baseball as a whole.
What do you mean?
I just, I just think people don't watch baseball anymore.
Well, the thing with baseball, watching baseball and this kind of ties into what you just said
about everybody that, that a Ranger fan is being at the game.
If you give me the choice to watch baseball at home on television or go see it live,
I'm going to go see a baseball game live every time, especially in this town.
I love that ballpark.
That's almost everybody though.
But yeah, the Rangers have a great ballpark.
It's a great atmosphere.
There's just, I don't know, man.
They just can't do, and I said it best last night.
This will be all fine and good to the Cowboys beat Philly Sunday night.
Yeah, because the question, and let's put that in proper framework.
The question that I posed to you last night was,
am I going to have to hear this from Ranger fans for the next year?
I don't think so.
And that was your answer.
Yeah, I think this is still a Cowboy town.
I'll always say that, and I'm sure people in debate that.
I still think the city of Dallas and Dallas Fort Worth Betroplex will always be Dallas Cowboys.
So now what happens if it goes the other way?
What happens if they pull the same performance they hold against the wind?
I think if I linger a little bit, I think right now,
and I'm probably going to get fast at this.
But I think right now, it's very cliche and very cool and very clicky to be a Ranger fan.
I've said that, and almost as long as you have it.
I don't know, the culture of winning in this town.
Yeah, that the Cowboys ruined for this town years ago.
In the 70s and 90s, yeah, well, now the Ranger has had to respond,
because you had the fabric shot the shoulder with the NBA pot to your.
So, did you imagine if they were playing too right now?
Well, you'd have some torn people, but hey,
congrats, the Rangers win it, because it will be settled by the next time either of us are on Amazon.
In the next 48 hours, this thing is done.
Yeah, congratulations. It's been a great season.
I, I wouldn't have pulled this world series out of a hat.
You know, I think I may need to go back into the vault and pull up our major league baseball preview
extravaganza and see what we were both thinking at that point.
But I, I, I, I had to say lose the playoff team.
I did not have the Rangers. I had the Rangers at a wild card at best.
Well, I think we both said that neither one of your world series years last year would make the playoffs.
So, yeah, we were only half-raaked in.
Only half.
But for Taco Bell commercials, there's still a lot.
So, yeah, and then we go to the other, the other part of this,
which more was kind of answered last night than the night before, has pooled,
looking up.
Yeah, but last night, I thought he had an opportunity to really break that game open and couldn't do it.
And then they pitched around him three times.
Yeah, I, I think pool holes had a chance in the seventh and the, well, the fifth and the seventh
to really break that game open and he fell short both times.
Well, watching that second hit and run attempt,
in order for it to be a hit and run, don't you have to swing at the ball?
And you got to have a faster player on first.
Yeah, I like Craig. He, he is not going to steal on that.
Like, Napoli has a cannon for him.
Well, somebody on the four-letter network said,
can somebody please tell Craig he doesn't have to steal second every time he's on first?
Yeah, I don't, I don't know what caused all that.
It just, it just seemed like it almost seemed like St. Louis was grasping
and it straws the longer that, that, that, that game went on.
What it was like guys, you've got two more games at home.
You don't have to be taking all these really weird risks.

but it's still one game.

And you're more, more often than not, your predictions on weather tend to come true.
I just, I just think with all the rain, they're expecting for even us, us, into tomorrow evening.
All up through Oklahoma, all into Kansas, and all that area. I don't see how you can expect
to play a baseball game when it's 41 degrees at 4.5. I wouldn't want to be out there.
Unless you're playing an indoor field. So that's baseball. So we'll actually have your wrap up

movie talk. I don't know how this first, this first story. Just when you think you know America,
you find out you don't know America. Paranormal activity sets the all-time
Paranormal activity three, which technically this takes place before the first one. So
very convoluted the way these three movies have worked out. Sets the all-time record for an opening
of a fall opening being September or October with 40.7 million dollars over the weekend.
This is your wheelhouse call. The Paranormal, Paranormal, it's okay.
Chad, try to explain to me the other day how with the progression of the movies. It's
it's basically the first one is the last chapter, the second one sits in the middle and the
third one goes back to the beginning. Very, very odd. They're making a ton of money off these things.
They are. The first one was made for like 30 grand. That real cheap to make.
But Julian dollars. People like to be scared. It's that time of year, I guess.
This next story. Interesting in your opinion here as Warner Brothers has said publicly,
they are now redoing Stephen King's The Stand as a film. I believe it was only done as a TV
mini series in the 80s. They want it to be adapted for the big screen and directed by one Ben
Affleck. We think of that. I like the Affleck. The guys proved he's got directing
chops. He weighs one an Oscar for screenwriting, but it was an original screenplay who wasn't
adapting something else. Being good real hunting. This is going to be if he takes this on,
this will be a huge challenge for him. I think have you ever seen the book for The Stand?
You could kill a mule with that book. Yeah. I think I read some of it. I don't know
that I read the whole thing. But if he takes it on, good luck to him because this is going to be
a real tough road to row. Because adapting that thing, it's almost like you have to make two
different movies. You have to do like the last Harry Potter or the last Twilight because the story is
so huge. Basically, there's aliens involved in things of that nature.
New movie releases this week, Johnny Depp, in a movie where there's drugs and alcohol involved,
go figure when he's not being a pirate, but it is called The Rum Diaries. 70% currently are
rotten tomatoes. Looks good. Show me where the guys don't run in the last decade.
I mean, the guy's money. The guy is a licensed apparent money. If he's in your movie,
it's going to make money. Let's be perfectly honest. Also, what do you think about this in time?
Pretty good idea. I always giggle when I, I can't do tape or like the act. I like
timber like the actor. I think it's forced. It's kind of a Logan's run-type deal where basically
you die when you're 25. But the way it works is certain things you can do can buy you more time.
Silly and Murphy is also in this who played the scarecrow in the dark night or Batman begins
and dark night as well. No, no reviews aren't too made of shit. So I don't know what that tells us.
Also this week, grab your kids, bring them to the theater because the
strex spinole, known as pussyboos, hits theaters this weekend, Antonio Benedish.

Somebody likes this thing. You're probably pulled a bunch of kids. It's just a spare kid.

Not very much. Here's the deal on this.
Basically the concept of this film is that the person that we know is William Shakespeare
did not write any of those plays. It was written by somebody else who basically got an
a bunch of trouble and was told by the British government you will never get credit for any of
your play. So they grab this cat named William Shakespeare and put his name on them.
And all of a sudden he becomes this big deal, but he hasn't written a word.
Pretty good idea. What do we always say? Something different.
I saw the trailer for this and I was like, you know what? I would see that.
If I had money and was at a theater and it was playing, I would see that. That looks
interesting to me. 64% so it's barely fresh on rotten tomatoes, but it's still above 60%.
Far fetched. Hey, I wasn't there. I don't know. I know as I saw a movie where he was in
love once in one of a bunch of Oscars. In Guarini Palatra was in there.
I always thought that was a little off that man played with it part.
That's just I don't even know how to react to that. We've moved on to TV.
We moved on to DVD and Blue Right New releases this week. Now, I expect you when I say this
first name, I fully expect you to say, Rob, I am on my way to Blockbuster right now.
Okay. When I say Captain America, the first Avenger.
78% on rotten tomatoes. If you have not seen this film, do yourself a favor. We said,
Cody, now I had this discussion back in May, where I thought this was going to be the
harder movie to pull off and Cody thought four would be the harder movie to pull off. Both
movies were good. Captain America exceeded my expectations. It really really was. That was
one that you were you were very concerned about that. But I thought they did a great job
leading up to the Avengers, which I still am very, very excited about. Also, 91% on rotten tomatoes
from 2011 summer release of Wieni the Pooh. Wieni the Pooh. Unbelievable. Unbelievable that this
generation would still have any ties to Wieni the Pooh is amazing to me. You know, I didn't
surprise me? Was that one word? Disney.
You could give, you could give, if Disney bought Betty Booth, they could make her relevant again.
There's just something about that Disney machine, man. Also, you just heard them in the background
a little while ago. The, the documenting about Pearl Jam called PJ 20 about their 20th anniversary.
That is out on DVD today. I can't say that I'm out because it was directed by Cameron Crowe. So I'm
at least interested. Never been a big good home, Peter. I was called him the Bob Dylan of my
generation. I'm going home. Now, did you see what? Is that the first do you and I have ever
sung? Yeah. I did shameless. I don't know. Statue to limitations is I thought that night,
I don't know. Attack the block. This was a movie that we talked about when we had a friend of the
show Brent Peoples. If you have not picked up issue one of last of the greats, please do so.
It's very, very good. I have mine in my bookshelf here in the studio. Issue two comes out next Wednesday.

Yeah. If it's done right. WWE's greatest rivalries Sean versus Brett. There was a great
promo for this during Raw last night. JR interviews both of them in from what I can tell they're
both in the same room together. This is a three disc set. Not yet available on Netflix or the
instant queue. I looked earlier today. I will check again tomorrow because I, if this thing's
on the instant queue, I may watch this after the world series. Because to get the two of them
sitting side by side talking about this thing, this is a story. If you are a wrestling fan,
this is one of the stories you wanted to hear from the horse's mouth for about a decade and a half.
This particular rivalry is one Cody and I have talked about more than just about anything.
And the history of our friends. It was kind of the elephant the room.
I think the business business really changed after that. I agree with you. I think the business
was already in the process of changing, but I think this kind of shifted that bad boy into overdrive
where you kind of had to acknowledge some things that she didn't have to before.
For those of you checking on your fantasy college updates, Troy 7, Ford International, nothing right now.
523 left in the first quarter. A little bit of TV talk. Are you going to have to watch an extra
show here in a few weeks? I was going to ask you, is this us them going there or
we're talking about? This was announced on Entertainment Weekly's website Monday morning. Apparently
Hawaii 50 and NCIS LA are going to have a crossover episode. I believe LA is coming to you.
Don't quote me on that, but I believe you because the pictures I've seen it looks like they're in Hawaii.
And there were more than just palm trees because there's palm trees going to be in a place. It looked
more Hawaiiesque to me. But this means you're going to have to watch both things.
Yeah, I don't know. Do you remember the days when this was a bigger deal?
Like I remember if there was a big crossover episode with Magnum PI and Simon and Simon. Simon.
Yeah. You know how I remember that? What your mom involved in that? You have an amazing,
your memory is rivaling mine anymore. My mom was in Hawaii and they were filming the end of
the first part of that episode. She could see it. She has pictures of it from her hotel room.
And she met one of the dudes on Magnum PI. She also met Tom Celix stunt double.
She said she had a great time. Of course she did. What being the new ladies in my wife?

Bore of them were done in the first hour.
And the first two were done within 20 minutes because you had the tag team match
and the US match backed back to back.
So, Ziegler worked straight through both matches.
He didn't have a break.

We had the bit where Mark Henry superplexes Frenchy off the top turn buckle in the ring breaks.
I contend that granted that did entertain me, but without Scott Hall in the middle of the ring shaking,
it's just not the same.
Still, one of my favorite Scott Hall moments ever.
When Frenchy broke the ring and he was acting like there was an earthquake in the middle of the arena.
And then you've got, I said it on Sunday night in the pre-show,
which you can still catch on archive if you want to go back.
I said that this was going to be the final match with Sina and Del Rio,
because it's a gimmick match, it was last man standing.
And everybody kept talking about it.
There's still another match.
I'm like, guys, you don't need a ring for a last man standing match.
When was the last time a last man standing match ended in a ring?
This thing will be all over the arena.
It won't matter anyway.
Del Rio wins.
I think, you know, and I'm going to go ahead and pass this next point off to you Cody,
because you put it to me very, very interestingly to me on the phone last night.
About this whole direction with Sina.
I'd like you to reiterate that if you would.
I think they did a real good job of getting Sina away from the belt.
I think they gradually got him away from the title.
It wasn't something that was real big, blatant thing.
I just think they gradually instead of having him job out to people.
They had him kind of stumped a little bit, not when the belt back.
And you, I think the creative team did a very good job of getting
John Sina away from that belt.
And still saving face.

They had to do it.
And it's had to, you have to start getting Sina.
You have to get Sina ready to go over the hill.

Thursday last Wednesday night on EE 60 which is an ESPN magazine show they did a deal on basically
on the rise and fall of Scott Hall that both of us just found fascinating you know i could have
watched that for an hour oh absolutely and if you check and if you haven't seen it check your
listings they replay those quite a bit that that's something they they do about 10 of those
it over a calendar year and they they replay them quite a bit so um first thing i noticed is
in of this i put together if you haven't seen it and you are fan of his i like Scott Hall i'm a fan of
Scott Hall what made you want to show that a w a footage of it and that looked nothing i can
i think one of my things why kind of said okay Scott tap the break is when Scott said
they consider me one of the greatest of all time and and you said that to me and i said well
he associated himself with some of the greatest of all time and he probably doesn't see by
himself if i did the top 20 wrestlers of the 90s i put him you put him top 20 of the of the 90s yes
i'd give you that i wouldn't put it top 50 if you didn't top 15 no if you didn't top 20 yes
yeah i mean if we go from 19 1990 to 1999 he's on and you did 25 guys he's on that list
he's on by list like i said 15 no 20 yes but um always thought Scott was better on the
stick than he was at the ring like i said this is this is really really hard to watch yeah
and if you're a fan and Cody said to me he texted me the next thing is i've you watched it
and i said yeah he goes what did you think and my initial reaction was it made me sad because if
you're a fan it it i want but they were trying to equate this to the wrestler i will always see
that story as being Jake the snake robbered story but it's hard to dismiss Scott Hall from that
category yeah one thing okay i did not know is that he killed a guy at 25 yes and he was a bartender
at a gentleman's establishment in Orlando forna
dollhouse and didn't sell the fans they tried to convict him of second degree murder and
it was dismissed but didn't say hi he actually spent in jail they never said okay i
said i said i missed that because i don't think i'd heard of you but yeah he the guy had so many
demons and Scott could have been part of it was part of one i think what's been Scott a whole
Scott it was the sky was the limit and the fact that he said that he asked Vince and Vince
had ever seen Scarface and Vince said he had not that shot me but when he got a hold of Scott Hall
it's got Hall became the razor-rimone character i thought it on the stick he was great oh absolutely
and a multiple time i see champion but you never got yeah multi-time tag champ
tv champ u.s. champ but you never could trust Scott with the brassel yeah he owned the second
tier belt pretty much you could never trust Scott to get around that world title
either better no matter where he was either for most you could now you couldn't really trust him to
get around that title because i think Vince kind of do okay this guy here's got demons that i know
that i don't know if i'm gonna put a belt on well and then the something else you when i
talked about in this deal was the incident from last year where he showed up just not ready to
compete in an independent show in New England the fact that the footage they had just wasn't
somebody's cell phone they actually didn't do that thing and how clean that footage was it just
it was so hard to watch and him i i don't want to ruin too much of it because if you haven't
seen it i really really think you should see it if you are a fan of professional wrestling especially
in the mid 90s and you know who this is and it's also it's also up and it's entirety on youtube
and and that link is on our Facebook page yeah if you look at the public podcast on Facebook you can
get to it but it's it's a hard watch Scott could have i thought when Vince finally bought that
WCW and they finally did now was that the he had bought that before yeah he had to but when Vince
bought WCW the one thing i was excited about was him owning the property of the NWO
are you in retrospect are you done up on hung around long enough and it's true
and then hogan turned face in one of the honest moments ever but one of the coolest moments ever at
the same time and then you but then hogan hung around for what a year or more oh right about a year
yeah i mean hogan hung around for what he did the mister america bit mister america
that held itself with edge and then the you know trip he beat one of the you know you want
