I needed to spit my water out, just saying, Russ says he's a little bit over the weather,

216 next week, I'm sure that's Eastern time, so, but you know, Texas week for NASCAR here,
because as we can for NASCAR here is always a big deal, a lot of revenue, a beautiful facility
out there, a Texas Motor Speedway, has a traffic got better, getting in and out, but there's
still a ton of construction down there, a ton of construction, but they do their best to
facilitate everybody down there, and then after that there's only a couple of races and we're
going with NASCAR for about 10 weeks, and then we're back at it again in Daytona, so let us
move on to a little bit of TV talk, now the guys don't have the run sheets tonight, because
I've been so busy, I didn't get the run sheet done till about 15 minutes before Showtime,
working with that a night, or Frankie, you see, every time somebody does that, I'm sorry, it's a reflex.
So, a reference book, good news for a few shows, getting full season orders right now,
CBS ordering a full season of limitless, the movie based on the Bradley Cooper film,
I watch two of them, and that's much for you. But they've also ordered a full season for
life in pieces, which I haven't watched it, but I'm okay with them getting a full season because
I'm always up for the success of Colin Hanks, and he's involved in this. I'm a fan, yeah.
He's, and he's, I do tell areas, he called in to B&T a couple of weeks ago, very, very funny,
very congeny on man. The ABC, I'm sorry, before we get the L-Ray Network, ABC has given a full season
order to the Muppets. Really? The other one, that has happened. I like this season, I don't like
what they give away. So I'm, I'm behind on everything. It has, it has its moments.
The L-Ray Network has given from Dusk till dawn of third season.
Don't have that on mind. There are already three seasons in it. There are their second season now.
They've given them season. I'm just, I'm just saying, wow, Ash versus Evil Dead premier yesterday
morning at about 2.15 a.m. Two days before it aired, Star's already says they're getting season two.
Well, actually, it's about eight o'clock last night because I don't know. It debuted at 2.15
yesterday, because they showed Evil Dead, Evil Dead to Army of Darkness, and then Ash versus Evil Dead.
Okay, because I thought I'd take it off. I know, because I'd leave yards.
Okay. I'm going to see it though, too. You get the yard that I didn't realize you had an interest.
I love Army of Darkness and Eve that Evil Dead movies. We've never talked about this.
Remember, I had the Evil Dead book of the book, the DVD. Did you? Yes.
Oh, I've slept since then. Also, AMC has renewed the Walking Dead for season seven.
I'm not talking about it. From the obvious Institute. Bad news for some other shows.
ABC has cut their order for blood and oil. The Don Johnson show from 13 to 10. Never a good song.
And NBC has cut the episodes of the player from 13 to 9. I watched one and a half of the player.
That was it. And then blood. It was the Wesley Snipes. And I watched one of the blood. Oh, not even one of blood.
No, I don't like, oh, this is Dallas Part II. That's just, yeah. You could tell that by looking at the commercial for it was bad.
But congratulations to Supergirl. The highest rating for any series premier this fall.
I liked it. A lot of people tuned in for this thing. It's on my DVR.
Been on a busy. I think you'll enjoy when you get around a while. I'm very much looking forward to it.
I'm looking forward to your feedback on it. I'm hoping that doesn't take me to my next vacation to do it.
By the time you finally get it, I want to get the band canceled. This time a year is so nutsoid for us.
And it only gets worse between this and what's going on with Grasty and working everything else. It just gets kind of crazy.

Oh, you have my attention. Brian Fuller is rebooting amazing stories for NBC.
I did hear that. I did hear that. These Steven Spielberg produced series in the 80s that was kind of an anthology.
Not like the Twilight Zone, but kind of sort of in a way. Something that might have been discussed a couple of weeks ago at a certain festival with a certain Austin
Blumenary. Maybe.

So, so we know that this Saturday, SNL will be the aforementioned Donald Trump and

For a while, Affleck was attached to this, which I thought would have been great.
Also, Norman Reedus, I don't know if you heard about this chat, he's going to be adding
another, his reality series to his repertoire, so he'll be doing a biker lifestyle reality
show called Ride with Norman Reedus.
And basically it's going to be him with a friend of his, whether it's an actor, sometimes
it's a sports athlete or whatever, and they kind of go to these different places around
the country and they ride bikes together, so it's kind of like if you're a Shawn Michaels
fan and you watch his, his hunting show, it's kind of like in the, in a similar vein.
I finally had to bail on that show.
I love Shawn.
I can't, I'm the kind of person that I'm not, I wouldn't hunt, I don't mind the result
of said hunt, because I am a carnivore at my core, but I just can't do the hunting things.
Speaking of which, we want us to shout out to friend of the show Lonnie Hart going out
on hunting next weekend, as I believe the year season is opening here in Texas.

are joining the cast of that show?
So we have a, I've heard mixed reviews about season one, it's available on Blue right now.
So we have a Star Trek alum and a galactic alum, okay, she is not, will we, no, thank

She does not drink whisky, she does not eat wheat bins, what she might, she might drink whisky,
you don't know that.
I'm not here to judge you outwardly, she might even put cool flip on it.

It is a segment that we do on this show where we take a person or there it goes or an entity
and we debate their greatness or lack of their of the pendulum swings back to Chad this
week.
Go, sir.
Been feeling rather nostalgic lately, almost by just sheer coincidence because of screenings
that we've attended Don, you can attest to this.
Oh, yes, yes, we saw a wonderful movie earlier today of heart beating back to our childhood.
Yes, we did.
We saw another screening of a film last week that reminded me, is this kind of a trigger
of this whole thing about the struggle for women's rights and the right to vote suffragette.
And myself and along with a lot of other people, my age probably got our first exposure
to said struggle from an animated short that aired on ABC in the 1970s called Schoolhouse
Rock.
Can you debate me on that?
No, I remember the how the bill was made, I remember the how the bill becomes
along all that, I mean, those are iconic.
Yeah, so I was I was wanting to discuss, you know, said greatness because I really don't
think it can be debated if it was or wasn't it was the greatness of schoolhouse rock.
Well, yeah, if not for a steady diet of Sesame Street and the electric company growing
up in our in our day, and Mr. Rogers and well, no, I was a Mr. Rogers to once you got to
pass like six or seven, I felt like I kind of out groom Mr. Rogers, I kind of out groomed
all the time.
But you didn't really learn as much, you mainly would just talk to be a good person
by watching Mr. Rogers, but the way that that Sesame Street and electric company were
structured, it was more of a learning experience and schoolhouse rock did the same thing.
Hey, you guys, that was Goonies, no, that was the opening cry of electric company.
That's why you said it's still Goonies, that's why slow, that's where Goonies got that.
Yeah, schoolhouse rock was just an absolute work of genius.
I didn't realize how long it stuck around after I outgrew watching schoolhouse rock.
Although, I don't think you ever really truly outgrow watching schoolhouse rock.
You just kind of move on to other things, but the original run lasted from 1973 to 1985.
Then they revived it, and they made a couple of new episodes here and they were sprinkled
them throughout their revival from 1993 to 1999. Then once they just started moving them directly
to direct to video, I think the last couple of episodes that they made were back in 2009.
So, it's managed to keep swinging for the fences for a long period of time.
And I was always fascinated by the fact that you could take, and from what I understand,
why this thing was even invented in the first place, it was began as a commercial advertising
ventured by an ad executive named David McCall. He had noticed that one of his sons, who was
having trouble in school, remembering his multiplication tables, was struggling with math, but he
knew the lyrics to current rock songs. So he thought, well, okay, if we write some catchy tunes
and make a learning experience out of it and keep it short, hold kids attention for a while,
maybe we got something. Boy, did they get something? Oh, yes, I did. I mean, Andrew, you've been
strangely quiet over there. Are you a fan of this stuff? I know nothing of what you speak about.
Really? Correct. It's totally alien to you. Yes. Now you're an American. No, I think he's an
unearthling. Yes. Oh, yeah, okay. I mean, it's it's just amazing to me that
you can sit there and and recall the melodies in your head of I'm just a bill and conjunction and what
your function? Okay. See, so stop it right there. Is that what this is? Look at how
boards are making them function. We had it, how did Bill Belly put it in him, rocket is Tim
Belly. I'm going to get you there if you're very careful. This was something that they kind of used
to stitch together other cartoons that aired on ABC. You would get your bugs buddy roadrunner fix
and in between commercial breaks. They would throw in an episode of multiplication rock or
grammar rock or whatever. And it was just quick little, you know, no, I mean, half a minute, half a
yeah, about three minutes long, about half the length of your average animated short. But it got its
point across and it worked. I mean, it was a very effective learning tool. If nothing else
whether or not it survived the Saturday morning purge because let's face it, that don't exist anymore.
Yeah, I want to add, I looked at the DVR or my guide the other day on the Saturday morning.
It's news till 10 a.m. then they have like Jack Hanna stuff. There is no cartoons anymore.
Yeah, it's they they it's done. Unfortunately, the networks got handed a mandate to where
at least a certain percentage of their weekly programming schedule had to be taken up by
educational programming. God knows this would qualify because it was strictly an educational show,
but it entertained at the same time. But a lot of the stuff that they did later on in
their production, they actually did like a computer rock believe or not. They started producing those
in 85. But they were getting outdated so quickly because technology was moving so fast that they
kind of quit airing them after like 89 or something like that. I know Russ is talking about the
the interjections and the one about the nouns, the action words. Let's see, unpack your adjectives.
And I wish that you could get it quickly at your fingertips. The fact that
one of my particularly favorite groups in the 90s, PM Dawn. Nice. Actually,
sampled the, what was it? Rufus Xavier Sasparilla and Albert Andreus Armadillo,
the pronoun song. And what was the name of that song? Because I tried to look it up in my
library and I don't have it. I know you have it because you've played it for me. But you know,
you talk about cross cultural impacts. Right. So the pronoun song? Yeah. I don't know what's
PM Dawn song actually used as a sample, but I didn't know that it existed until you played it for
me in your car one day. I looked at you and I'm like, wait, wait, is this what I think it is?
They were good at that, sorry. Yeah. But absolutely brilliance on the part of
the producers of schoolhouse rock that they kind of had their, their finger on the pulse of
pop culture and they managed to teach kids across the board. I mean, you had, again,
multiplication, grammar, history with America rock, science rock, money rock,
leave and teach you how to balance a checkbook and earth rock. Well, all I know is I'm just a
bill sitting on Capitol Hill waiting to become a law. And, and some really talented musicians.
I mean, brothers to do that. No, I want to say his name was Bob Durro, which he wrote the
majority of the stuff. But that that vocalist he's appeared on Family Guy. He's still doing work.
He's, well, when it's still being referenced on SNL in this day and age. Yeah. I mean,
they did last season. It, it, it amazes me that it's had that much staying power. And they even did
another one in the late 90s early 2000s to go along with them releasing all of them together on the
DVD set that was about the, like, the electoral college itself is what it was about. Let's see.
Uh, uh, uh, I was actually one of my favorites. Elbow room. Elbow room. Uh, the original team reunited
in 2002 to produce. I'm going to send your vote to college for the release of the 30th anniversary.
And apparently the, the, the, the lead designer of the series was Tom Yo Sr. He passed away in 2000.
So he's son took over, uh, Tom Yo Jr. And they did another contemporary song called presidential
minute, which explained the process of the presidential election itself in greater detail.
So, uh, it's, to me, it's just, it's just a testament to how effective this was not just as an
entertainment property, but as a teaching tool. And, um, I would hope that teachers would still
look back to this and maybe incorporate it into the classroom too. Is that in the Disney
umbrella now? It's on my ABC. So I would say, yeah, that's a, that's a, why wouldn't they bring that
back, just put it on like Disney XD or something like that? It would work. I think it would work.
Yeah, Disney ABC domestic television. It's, is the, uh, current distributor. Um, it's, it's had a heck of
a shelf life. And I think that although some of the music may be a little dated, the lessons that
it teaches and the way that it teaches them, I think it's for relatively timeless. I knew what
discussion we want to do on this. I'm a fan. Yeah, I've always had been, that's something
I'll never forget. And how, it's just like you would talk to in the past, P.O.I. about the
Saudi Warney Tower cartoons being a thing of history now. It's, it's, yeah, not just a dying
breed. It's, it's, it's bad. And I, I think they would, they could do themselves, uh, a favor by bringing
this back. I agree. Especially with some of this, if they're putting out there now. Yeah.
Yeah. Just depressing. All right, let's move on and talk some more sports because that's
talk college football. For those of you that saw the clothes of the Miami Rutgers game yesterday,
eight laterals by Miami asked time expires. The refs in that game have been suspended.
Do do some questionable calls. Oh boy. But it's a fun play to go out there and watch.
We're all looking at the replay of the possible, uh, interception by the Seattle Seahawks.
Oh, and that castle looking very good for you. Has tragedy struck. And then we're getting what
by somebody on the sideline. It's in booth review now. I don't think any of us know who that is.
I don't think he knows who he is. Let's go to yours. Football scores, college football Thursday,
night North Carolina upset's number 23 Pittsburgh, 26 to 19. TCU does not get upset as they host
West Virginia and beat them down. PC number five, 40 to 10. Boy can does a great play where he
alludes like six, uh, West Virginia defenders to get out of bounds. And the West Virginia coach high
five didn't for it. Yeah. No. Did you see this? No. But it was like, and I said to one of my co-workers
is a TCU alum. I go, well, you know why. He's like, why go? Because he was the only member of the West
Virginia team at touchdown. So, uh, in the world's largest cocktail party, my beloved Florida
Gators number 11 in the country beat up on Georgia, 27 to three, as we're heading into November.
Florida is pretty much, they're saying has all but sealed up the SEC East. And I know you're
very upset. We, we beat South Carolina. That's it. Because all we got left up to that is Vandy,
Florida Atlantic, and then that other team that we're hosting on Thanksgiving weekend.
Speaking of that other team, right to number 17, they beat Syracuse 45, 21. Number 19, Ole Miss
over Auburn, 27 to 19, much of this chagrin of the, the Crimson Tide Nation. Number 24, you
