The following is a sooner or gator production.
No one's, no one's, no one's.
Good morning!
Boop!
Yo, stop.
Are you ready for the jam?
I said are you ready for the jam?
Yo, gee, kick it.
Drop the plea!
Keep it going, uh.
Keep it going, uh.
Terry!
Wait!
Bam!
Yes!
Hey y'all, I'm bringing heat.
Bees to know how tight it's every week.
It is Saturday nights.
It is eight o'clock on the East Coast.
It is five o'clock on the West Coast.
It is the 13th of October in the year of our Lord 2012.
It is season three, episode 13 of the clubhouse.
We are live on the air.
We welcome each and every one of you individually.
Whether you are listening live,
with us right here on you stream, whether you're listening on the archive or
whether you are listening on your portable device.
We don't care how you listen.
We just appreciate you doing so.
Welcome.
My name is Rob.
I'm the guy with all the screens in front of me.
Keep in the train rolling.
Joining me on the other side of the desk is he tends to do
at about this time, at about this day of the week, just about every week,
at least for the foreseeable future.
A young man who uh had a lot more eventful week than he thought he would
last week at this time.
He is Chad.
Thank you, sir.
I am worn out.
Well, your lovely daughter should be safe and sound at home by now.
I'm hoping, sorry, any incidents.
For those of you that don't know, Chad's birthday was last Sunday.
And big surprise as his family blew his daughter in from Colorado to spend the week.
Had no clue.
My goddaughter, at a great time.
Had a little gangus grill today.
Barely got her off the plane, cut it close.
Public service announcement.
If you're flying, check in for your flight when you wake up the day you fly.
Just saying.
I have a look.
Also, just look at me this week.
Directly across from me, he is the official fact checker of the clubhouse.
You know him, you love him, you can't live without him, he is Don Ford.
Hello everybody, how you doing tonight?
How are you, sir? It's good to see you.
Well, thank you for having me on.
Just saw you earlier this week as we're going to talk about later in the show.
For a great movie, which we'll get into.
And as I said, about 30 minutes ago, we have a first guest alert tonight.
I don't have a sound effect for that.
I'm just not that good.
So, I'm going to let you introduce our guest for this evening, sir.
If you would.
Well, ladies and gentlemen of the Empire, this is a guy we love.
You'll learn to love.
I've been a friend of mine for 16 years since I've been in Texas.
His name is Gary Murray.
You gotta tell him we reviews and everything like that great guy.
Say hello Gary.
Hi everybody, can you hear me?
He was here.
I always love it when we have first time guests.
A little bit of a different perspective on some things.
I know for a fact we're going to have a lot to talk about in movie talk.
We got a lot to talk about tonight.
But before we get started, actually, we always start with corrections.
Unfortunately, I did not tell you this in the last week's show because we're still having
problems with the RSS feed.
That I'm going to try to fix tomorrow.
We may just start the whole RSS feed over and see if that does it.
Because I got a text from Richard the other day, our webmaster.
He's like, dude, I don't know what's wrong with it.
It looks fine.
But I can't...
I tried to do it manually in iTunes and it doesn't give me an error.
It just doesn't say there's anything there.
That's so weird.
Which is so weird.
But from what I can tell, Don was pretty much on point with us last week.
I saw nothing out of whack right there.
Kept us in check for that.
But before we get into what we normally do...
Two birthdays this week, Chad's birthday was Sunday.
He already got his one of his gifts from Don, which was Prometheus.
Which he'll be very...
I know, he gave you from...
Okay, yeah.
It's not like he gave you crabs.
Prometheus was a movie.
No, no, no, no.
He just looked at me like,
Can you give me somethings?
Yeah, I was there.
But there's also another gift.
That's what we wanted to make sure that you get.
In honor of the stupid vote movie.
Yeah, because for those of you that don't know,
for my birthday, Don got me a modified cover of stupid vote movie.
Saying for what it truly is.
And equal time, sir.
If I've got to get something in that vein,
you have to get something in that vein.
And this is from the heart made personally for you.
I was a little weepy when I saw it.
I was...
I just don't know what to say except I'm going to let you open this.
And you have to tell the people what it is.
Oh, you got to open it too.
What? Tell them what it is, sir.
This is an audio medium.
Do they want to hear me throwing up?
Wouldn't it be the first time?
Yeah, I think it would on this show.
And you're turning a nice color of red.
They're calling this Chad's Dream DVD.
What's it is?
Chad's for all-time favorite movies ever by his favorite actor of all time.
Will Ferrell.
Now, read the back.
And he actually puts OMG.
OMG, it is finally here.
A dream come true for Chad.
Those in it don't know.
There are two people that beat Chad into oblivion more than anyone.
And there's Will Ferrell and Jack Black.
His favorite four movies of all time by his favorite actor of all time, Will Ferrell.
This is guaranteed to be a DVD.
He will keep for the rest of his life and watch over and over.
Oh, you are one delusional man.
Your wife who is a British descent is very entertained right now.
She is not entertained.
The four movies on this disc that Chad loves so much are the all-time...
Oh my god.
Land of the lost really.
That one was pretty bad.
I don't know.
Bewitched.
My wife actually owned that for a turn.
Kasa Dimae Padre.
Which I actually want to see that.
And everything must go.
Okay, no, open it.
It's not gonna happen.
I'm not done.
Oh, there's more.
Right.
You gonna...
You gonna let me do that?
I'm waiting for you, sir.
With these...
With these short-of-be classics.
I cannot poke my tongue into my cheek any farther.
All on one DVD.
This will give Chad a lifetime of viewing pleasure.
But oh no.
There is more.
Also included as a bonus disc with every skit and scene Will Ferrell did on SNL.
Enjoy Chad.
We know we know gift is one you will love for the rest of your life.
The gift that keeps on giving apparently.
Like herpes.
And the jelly of the month club.
And you, sir, you have been labeled as a...
Don, you have been labeled as a genius by his wife who is a British descents.
I had to invade your Facebook page for that picture of you.
You noticed, yeah, you noticed the first disc.
That's you, sir.
Yes, I noticed that.
And what are you saying in that disc?
Oh, OMG, again.
What are you?
A 15-year-old girl that watches Gossip Girl?
I did not know this DVD was even possible.
Oh, and nightmares do come true.
Oh no, apparently my quote is this is a dream come true literally.
If you dream of things that are planted in your brain by Scarecrow,
for my favorite all-time movies by my favorite movie actor of all-time,
this is a DVD I will watch over and over and over for the rest of my life.
Boy, you whoever your dealer is, man, he's...
He's giving you some good stuff.
That was Chad's birthday, but today is actually Don's birthday.
And if someone had followed instructions,
we were supposed to both give him his gifts while we were on air,
but somebody jumped the gun.
And I don't want to mention any names, but his initials are Chad Womack.
So Don, if you would like to go ahead and say what Chad purchased you for your birthday.
Oh, let's see.
Hard cover copy of games of Thrones, the book, the graphic novel.
The graphic novel.
Volume one.
Which, great on its own.
Great, I appreciate it.
And if that were the only thing,
already great.
Oh, yeah, I'm happy.
This is incredible.
But because some of us can follow instructions
and give it to you on the air so you can get your genuine reaction,
you can't have that because that's a receipt.
Oh, you're kidding.
Nope.
Did you see it yet?
No, it's still sitting there.
I'm just now starting to get caught up on stuff.
I know he had a week.
I told you.
Dude, it's been a long week.
This is the book called The Devil's Knife,
which is a story about the West Memphis 3
on the movie, the show's paradise law.
And the third part's coming back on HBO this week,
so my DDR set to get.
Okay, yeah, incredible.
But what these are incredible, and I thank you for both.
You're very welcome.
I've got another book on Tuesday,
which we'll talk about.
Oh, yeah.
No, that was Monday.
Monday, I'm sorry, Monday, Monday.
My mistake, my mistake, my mistake, my mistake, my mistake.
But thank you, both.
Hey, you know what, birthdays are special things.
I've always said, two favorite days of the year,
my birthday and Christmas.
I've got two things Chad's going to love.
Prometheus.
And a matching set of coasters.
The fact that your picture's on the display.
The picture's on the display.
Look at his picture, too, his mouth's cover going away.
It's literally like the same reaction shot I had
when I saw my daughter on Sunday,
and I don't know what I was going to do.
Happy birthday, Brad.
Happy birthday to all of us.
Let's do an Ask Our Talk.
So, Taledago was last time, they're speaking of Will Ferrell.
Oh, God.
Oh, escape from this.
I was, uh, no, but Taledago, that's Will Ferrell.
Movie's fair enough.
That's the second one.
Hey, hold on real quick.
That's got, that's about, title the show.
Something will Ferrell.
Oh, I've seen that.
I got to open that up, hold on.
Chad's Will Ferrell present.
That's the fifth ring of hell.
This is now the fifth ring of hell.
But I was actually Sunday while you were with your family
getting surprised by your daughter showing up.
I was actually with, uh, with Brendan the show Phil and his family,
right?
Because it was his oldest birthday.
It's the same as yours.
His oldest birthday.
His oldest, uh, okay, birthday.
Happy, happy, belated, of course, to the show too,
to miss Ashley.
Had a great time with it.
Did you ever, you ever just want to test your own?
Um,
fortitude.
Walk around a mall with three girls ages 12 to 17.
I would rather you set me on fire.
It was a whole lot of, hey, we're going to go into the store
until I go in.
You guys go ahead.
We'll be out here.
But, uh,
walked around the mall for a while and then
took some time and aided Joe's crab chat.
That's where she wanted to eat for her birthday.
And as we were there, um, they had the football game on the, uh,
the New England Patriots, then, the Broncos game.
So Phil was watching the race on his phone.
And as they were, we were like, okay,
race is pretty much over whatever.
And then, just as he said that, the, the, the wreck happened.
And if you haven't seen the wreck,
uh,
Tony Stewart, or as we like to call him on this show,
small,
uh, thought he had some room to turn inside on the turn,
did not make it.
It ends up bumping into Michael Walshift,
causes a 25 car pile up.
So we, we finished under, we finished under green white
checker because of that Dale Earnhardt Jr.
suffers a concussion and will be out for them for this weekend and next weekend's races.
Many people are saying pretty much that's going to be it for him in the chase,
which is sad because the guy was really making a run out of this year.
But it does show how much more seriously now things are being taken by sports when it comes
to things like concussions.
And the other reason I mentioned that is that Reagan Smith will drive for him this weekend
and next weekend.
To me, I would think that in a case like that that you keep the points,
but Reagan's a different driver, so they, and it's by driver not car.
But, uh,
it's a, I saw a very interesting
stat about this.
Okay, and we're going to get to that here in a minute as we give you the results
from the Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500.
But you'd have thought there would be somebody there to help at the end of the race.
Your top 10 finishers are as follows.
Number 10 in the number 31 caterpillars sponsored also by DriveCat.com.
Jeff Burton.
Number nine also in a Chevrolet sponsored by the US Army.
Ryan, hello, Newman.
Eighth place in the Toyota Burger King slash Dr. Pepper number 93.
Someone I've never heard of.
Travis Cavapill KVAPIL.
That's how you spell that.
Are we missing a vowel in there somewhere?
It seems like it.
I'm just saying.
Seventh place in the number two Dodge Miller lights.
Brad Kuzalski, thank you.
It's, it's the passion that he says.
I'm watching the wreck by actually me every day.
I'm watching the wreck actually.
In sixth place in the number 16 forward sponsored by 3M and the National Breast Cancer Foundation
Greg Biffle.
Fifth place in the furniture rose slash farm American Chevrolet number 78.
So Reagan taking Junior's place but not driving Junior's car.
He's in 78 not 88.
But he places forth in the race.
Third place in the number 18 MNM's Toyota Kyle Busch.
Jeff Gordon in the number 24 drive to end hunger Chevrolet takes the silver medal.
And winning in the number 17 forward eco boost also skips
sponsored by the National Breast Cancer Foundation Matt Kenseth.
So we've got two cars in the top 10.
Sponsored during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
So here's how your standings happen now in the chase.
Number 12, Matt Kenseth.
Even though he won the race days where he is.
Oh good.
Dale drops four spots to number 11.
He's now 51 points out.
Kevin Harberg down one to 10.
Greg Biffle up to to nine.
Martin Truex Junior stays where he is at eight.
Dropping two spots to number seven.
Tony Stewart.
Jeff Gordon jumps four spots to number six.
Clint Boyer down one to five.
Casey Kane up to to four.
Your top three stay steady.
Denny Hamlin's in third.
In second place five time five time five time five time five time.
Spring Cup champion Jimmy Johnson and Brad keselowski.
Or is Chad likes to call him Brad keselowski.
Thank you.
Has the lead by 14 points over five time five time five time five time.
Five time.
Spring Cup champion Jimmy Johnson.
So you watch the wreck on the phone sir.
Yeah.
Little brutal.
Oh, slightly.
I'm surprised you haven't seen this footage.
Dude, what have I been occupied with though?
I don't know.
I didn't know there was nowhere to judge you sir.
I didn't even know there was a wreck.
You want to.
Wow.
Oh, you want to show it to him back it up.
So the interesting the interesting thing that we're going to talk about now.
Your race is actually done is correct.
The race oh no, today's the 12th.
No, today's the 13th race is tonight.
Actually, the race is going on right now.
At Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Bank of America 500.
It is a quad oval 1.5 mile track
with a 24 degree bank on it.
But here's the interesting thing.
Now, we know that Dale Jr.
not racing tonight will not be racing next week.
This is the first time a NASCAR race has been
without someone with the last named Earnhardt
since September 3rd of 1979.
Between him and his dad first time that there hasn't been one since then.
Is that 33 years?
Yeah, just over 33 years because it would have been 33 last month.
Yeah, 33, yeah.
I read that stat and I was like, wow.
There's something you don't see every year.
Yeah, that's for three decades.
So we want Jr. to get better.
I'm hoping that this is more of a precautionary thing
than anything else because you never want to see somebody
have those kind of problems.
And I appreciate NASCAR taking the time.
There's actually a camera angle from inside of Jr's car
when it happens.
And you do see him get kind of thrown around.
Even with those big head braces that they wear,
there's always the neck is a very, very delicate animal.
So that's going to do it for NASCAR.
Let's do a little TV talk, shall we?
Gladly.
About six months ago on this show,
we talked about NBC rebooting the monsters
with a show called Mockingbird Lane.
Apparently, this thing has gone over like a fart in church.
What a shocker.
Yeah.
The original plan and this all changed
between Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
On Tuesday, NBC wasn't sure what they were going to do
with this pilot.
There were talks of it made for TV movie.
They were going to do out of it.
What they decided now had to do is they're actually going
to do it as a Halloween special
in two weeks on Friday, October the 26th.
And I want to go through and give you this cast
because I saw some some promo pictures for this.
Nobody's in costume.
Now, which is really freaking weird.
It's not the monsters.
But it's a monster's reboots.
But if you're going to put and it's the same characters,
the only person that might have been in costume.
I don't know if you've seen the pictures.
So you've seen some of the production stealth.
Here's your cast.
Herman monster.
And these are the names they're using.
Jerry O'Connell.
He's married to Rebecca Romaine.
Give the guy break.
Portia Derassi playing a Lily monster.
That was his break.
Was marrying Rebecca Romaine.
He did sliders.
That sliders was an excellent show, sir.
That's one of the great shows of our time.
He doesn't need any more breaks.
I think he's, I think his car to bank is full.
Mason Cook as Eddie,
who?
Mason Cook.
Let me get you some.
Let me give you a resume on this young man.
He likes to wear bow ties apparently.
And he is.
He was in Spy Kids 4D.
He's going to be will in the lone ranger.
He was in Wyatt Irp's revenge.
He was on the middle.
Let's see.
He did an episode of Desperate Housewives episode of Criminal Minds.
Let's see.
He did an episode of Hot and Cleveland.
A couple episodes of Raising Hope.
He plays Eddie.
Marilyn is a charity wake field.
Anybody got anything on that?
Well, her up on IMP.
Oh, I never care.
She's a pretty girl.
She's a pretty beautiful girl.
Yeah.
Let's see.
She's got some stuff in.
In a post production.
The moment I hear Jerry, she was in the Raven.
This will talk about here.
I haven't seen that.
Let's see.
She was in a thing called Casualty 1909.
In Casualty 1907.
So apparently she wasn't that casualty except that show was.
She was in the mini series of sense and sensibility.
That's about all I got.
And then but as Grandpa Monster was 180 Isard.
He's the only one in costume in this thing.
Which it's Eddie Isard.
So you kind of figure that's going to happen.
I'm just waiting to hear Jerry O'Connelly.
But it's a little costume.
Because he's Eddie Isard.
Pretty much.
But it's like a red like a...
It almost is.
If you look at the production cells, it almost kind of is.
But like Jerry O'Connell in the production cells,
I saw he's wearing like a Boy Scout uniform.
Like there's no makeup or anything.
I just was waiting for you to react.
I just got the music in the background.
Okay.
But what they're going to do is going to be a Halloween special.
It's going to be on a Friday night.
So we all know that's the TV.
Oh yeah, you'll get a 22 rating.
I'm sure Vince is quaking in this boots right now.
That's going to go up.
It's going to be followed by a Halloween theme of episode of Grim.
Which is kind of an arty all kind of Halloween.
Grim is pretty decent show.
I've been watching this.
My wife has a set on the DVR.
Oh, it's pretty decent.
Congratulations to the people of Arrow.
Had their premiere this week on the CW.
It gives them their highest numbers in three years,
which is almost 4 million.
They're poor CW.
God bless them for trying.
But you know what?
Anybody, am I the only one that watched it?
Didn't see it.
Didn't see it either.
Great.
Love it.
A great start.
Yeah, critics kind of just mediocre reviews.
Better reviews than the movie,
the premiere had the next night.
They're a version of Beauty and the Beast.
The review I saw was Beauty and the Beast is hilarious,
except not intentionally.
That was the headline I saw.
But I thought Arrow was great.
It's a good slow start to it.
They're kind of establishing who's who.
We now know that that Dynas involved.
So I'm hoping when they can kind of get them settled.
That maybe some things will settle in.
It's I think it's an interesting way to tell that story.
And that but good friend of the show Clay Harrison,
he and I converse about it briefly the other day.
And he said that they're trying to make it Smallville 2.0.
He says, but if they can just kind of settle it in a little bit,
then it's got a lot of potential.
And Smallville still a show you never really got.
And we'll never watch the episode.
And you if you I can never think that if you liked Arrow,
you'd probably love Smallville.
It does diminish my geek.
I'm not going to lie.
But but my thing is I'm going to watch it.
I'm going to stick with it.
But I'm telling you to check it out on on Hulu.
Arrow.
Yeah, it's worth it.
Okay, it's green arrow.
I mean, I think I've got like the first seven
seasons of Smallville on Hulu on DVD.
Oh, I do.
I'll just dump them over here and I'll let you take.
I don't know.
No, just just just watch that.
You're a leisure.
Those are, was that your highfalutin?
Your leisure.
I'm married to a British woman.
It rubs off every now and then.
She's not British.
She's not British descent.
What?
I just want to say that.
What the heck did that mean?
Tomorrow is the return of comic book men.
Thank God.
They're excited.
Hopefully this will be a little bit better
than the first season.
Watch men get abused again for another big season.
And you know, he's the guy that started Musis Q.
Yeah, you told me that he is the godfather of Musis Q.
God bless him.
For those of you, I know you're a fan of American Horror Story.
Didn't it debut this week?
The Silom?
Not this coming week.
I thought, hey, it's this comic.
I think it's coming out from my brain.
We've got another name added to the cast of that.
The great Ian McShane.
Great actor.
Yeah, great actor.
Alsore engine.
That's all I need to say.
But is it going to, is it going to curse like you did on that?
No, no, no.
You might get a little bit on FX, but not more than that.
Yeah.
But and the league is back.
Do you want the league?
League?
The league?
No.
Oh, it's one of the great shows on television.
That is one of the few shows that can literally make me laugh
uncontrollably out loud.
But Ian McShane joined the cast of American Horror Story
for season two called the Silom.
Deadwood, one of the great shows of our time.
That guy after Deadwood, for me, he can't do any wrong.
He's got to pass with me.
All the more reason for you to watch on Stranger Time.
And I wish they would bring that back.
It's on the DDR.
I just didn't have to watch on the DDR.
I'm just saying all the more reason why I think you'll enjoy it.
I wish three movies, yes.
I couldn't do another one.
I got the whole series of Deadwood on DVD.
And one time they brought the gear.
He probably watched it in a week.
Yeah, it's like you watch one episode.
You're like, I can't stop watching.
Yeah, I had to watch the whole thing.
I was in from day one.
I was just like, you may have to wait seven days.
They were supposed to get another season at least.
And they ended it.
I wish that's one they should bring that.
But boardwalk empire is kind of picked up that never watched
the single episode.
Oh, I've never seen Deadwood.
Congratulations to suits for getting renewed for season three,
which leads to the question, what is suits,
just like what is burn notice?
It's got some show on USA.
And it's got the dude that used to be on Chuck
that was Chuck's roommate in college.
It's all I know.
And it's got the chick from Aelius.
Not Garner, but the other girl.
Oh, in this to show that what's your name from Fireflies on?
Gatoris.
He was also on Aelius.
See, we talked about this last week.
Part of the genius, because Gary's in the studio now,
he can actually witness this.
Chad does not know what I put on the music playlist.
He has no clue.
No, but no, I'm the only one that does.
So I do certain things on purpose
just to get his reactions.
But it ties into the next story.
Bashing my head against my mind.
So I read this last night, and I was just like,
this is really a thing.
Turn it up, turn up the volume.
Got your pie hole.
10% talent, 90% effort, Michael Bolton.
With his hair, with his hair, with his hair,
cape, the male Celine Dion.
You see, again, this album, sole provider,
was a good album.
And even time 1110 in this, but that was where it started to fall.
And then after that, it all went to me.
I just remember watching him on a pop-up video once,
and it said, um,
Michael Bolton's this album for him,
sold 15 million copies,
Americans buy 20 million pounds of cheese every year.
It would just make me happy.
But he's gotten Greenlit for an NBC pilot called
Michael Bolton's daughter is ruining my life.
No, it's an ABC pilot, I'm sorry.
It's called Michael Bolton's daughter is ruining my life.
And he's going to play himself,
kind of in the vein that Vanderbeek pays
plays himself on Don't Trust the B in apartment 23.
But there's going to be this guy who's going to be his head of social media.
But because of the name of the show,
his daughter terrorizes this guy.
Anybody want to send an overrun around this?
Because he's only gotten Greenlit for the pilot.
So this is where ABC, I could,
this is this, and this is happening.
But is this ABC or NBC?
It says the ABC family are just ABC.
Let me just double check for you.
I mean, this is like, this is the guy when he did the Grammy,
when he won that Grammy or whatever, his acceptance speech was longer than this song.
I mean, that put people to sleep on that.
This is ABC.
It's ABC.
Wow, it is.
And this is according to THR.
So this is the thing.
This is because I read, I read it on entertainment week.
ABC family, I would say it's got a good shot of going all season.
And it's from one of the writers on 30 Rock.
Now, it isn't just the same network that we just recently saw this debacle of the,
what was it?
What was this?
This bosom buddies rip off that they did that died a very, very.
Oh, yeah, they only did what one episode aired.
And it was just gotten so making it or something.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's what the mother lived.
They need to make better choices.
They need to listen to Sharla.
Make good choices.
Have you heard that story?
She was shepherding prom last year.
And it's all the kids we were leading.
She was going, make good choices.
Nothing could happen after midnight.
Trying to, I know it's going to be impossible to sound anything but cheesy with this comment,
but this pilot will never get off the court.
This is such a bad idea.
That was pure Swiss cheese was, but you put you know what?
The guy can prove that he's got comedy chops because if you ever saw the Jack Sparrow bit
that he did on Saturday night live with the, with the lonely island.
Yeah, and then they did the last SNL short that they did.
The digital short that they had with Andy Sandberg where they basically just took
all the ones they've done and just combined them all in there.
The guy's got comedy chops.
I can't deny it.
I just don't know.
We don't know if he can act.
Well, if he's doing a bunch of self-deprecation, I mean.
Yeah, no, like Vanderbeek.
Yeah, like what did, what was that one?
The Jennifer Gray was on.
Jennifer Gray did.
Oh, yeah.
Where she played herself.
And that was a good show.
Yeah.
Because I remember there's so much something looks different and he's like,
well, it's been a long time.
No, I just watched her.
He didn't go and they kept going to find out.
No, she's like, there it is.
I want to say that it was on like right back to back with two guys that go on a pizza place.
I like that show a lot, sir.
I'm a huge fan of this.
I'm not, I'm not downing it.
I just want to say that it seemed like that show came on right after it.
But I can't feel the life of remember when it was called.
We have a Viacom Dios to give a found out today.
The death of great actor Gary Collins.
At the age of 674.
Born in Venice, California to a waitress and in factory worker mother.
He attended Santa Monica, Cindy College.
He was a, he started as a radio and television performer for the Armed Forces Network.
For me, he was best known.
He did a like PM magazine in the 80s.
Gary, you can back me up on that.
Yeah, yeah, I know.
He also did Perry Mason, the Virginian, Hawaii, 506 million dollar man,
the Loveboat, Charlie's Angels, Friends, and Jag.
He was also an airport.
He played the heroic co-pilot in the 1977 film The Night They Took Miss Beautiful.
Our magazine, not PM, it was our magazine.
PM magazine was local here.
No, no, that was nationwide because I watched PM magazine.
It was based here, but it was nationwide.
He hosted the home show.
Oh, yeah, I remember that.
He also hosted the Miss America pageant from 1982 to 1990.
So the guy's got skits.
Nominated for six Emmys and one in 1983 for outstanding talk show host.
Also has a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
So he's got $30,000.
If somebody does, or his fans do.
I thought it was 10.
And that's like, well, at that time it was 3 and I might be 10 now.
At the time he got it, it was 3.
He was just for inflation.
He was a Kentucky Fried Chicken snack bag.
He was married to former Miss America, Mary Ann Mobley.
From 1967 until he died.
They were separated in 2011.
They had one daughter.
Oh, let's see.
I'm not going to go to the one that's the law thing.
But he allegedly died of natural causes.
So he was succeeded on the Miss America show by Regis Lee and Kelly Lee or Kathy Lee.
I can't believe I'm hosting this America.
So God rest your soul, sir.
Buy a combiose to you.
Let's pick up the pace a little bit.
I don't want somebody to say that they reminded of that go take care of their dog.
When I hear a place there on my clock.
Disney XD.
Current home of Avengers Earth Mideos heroes, which I guess is going to the wayside now.
And this season's been really good.
I know Gary, have you been watching it?
Do you watch the Avengers at all?
Nope.
Watch the movies.
Oh, great movie was great.
One of my favorite movies of the year.
And I don't know if anything.
I touched it from a superhero standpoint.
But they're going to do two new Marvel animated series this coming summer.
They will be called Avengers Assemble and Hulk and the Agents of Smash.
Smash is an acronym.
Don't ask me what it stands for.
I didn't look that up.
I have a computer.
I could probably use it.
Snake.
Yeah, I'm not probably my computer.
I can't fact check tonight.
I got my phone.
We say, now I don't have such a problem with him killing Earth Mideos heroes.
If they're going to replace with Avengers Assemble.
Now Avengers Assemble will be more based on the film.
Which I, again, have no problem with.
Yeah, let me have it rock.
Everybody, everybody, I mean, you know,
everybody's in Hollywood's doing twist jump stuff.
Get their own Avengers.
Let's make a billion dollars franchise.
I'm just wondering are they're going to use the same voice cast from Earth Mideos heroes.
Um, I can tell you I have that up.
Avengers Assemble will be Captain America Iron Man Hulk,
Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Falcon,
who they just introduced into the series.
Falcon, I always thought was a very underrated hero.
Yeah.
He's actually on that.
Remember, we talked about that record that we have power record.
Yes, indeed.
He was on the Captain America one, which I think I have over there.
Really?
Yes.
Oh my god.
Iron Man will be the one, the only Adrian Pazdar.
Really?
Yes, sir.
So he's, so he's jumping over from the,
Oh, that Iron Man thing's done.
Yeah, that's done.
Onsemble will be Fred Tascatorius Hulk.
Great voice actor.
I think that's who's been doing him.
Roger Craig Smith is Captain America.
Travis Willingham is Thor.
Troy Baker is Hawkeye.
Laura Bailey is Black Widow and Bumper Robinson as Falcon.
Also, you're going to have Hulk and the Agents of Smash,
which is going to be Hulk, Red Hulk,
She Hulk, A-Bom and Scar.
Let's see, She Hulk?
The Duchoon.
Wow.
I'm excited.
Interesting.
A-Bom will be Seth Green.
Oh dear god.
Clancy Brown is going to play Red Hulk.
That's greatness.
And guess who's working on the project?
Paul Freakendini.
Oh, gee.
Wow, really?
I'm reading it from TVK.com.
So he's going from DC to Marvel now.
They got Disney money.
He goes where the money goes.
Although as we're going to talk about later,
it's a very odd things going on with that.
At the house of mouse.
Oh, okay.
Very odd things going on with those properties,
which I'm very confused by.
And I'm hoping somebody in this room
can help me clarify them.
I don't know if you know about what's going on with that.
Yeah, that they're, that, um, the lawsuits.
They're lost.
All right, hold on to it until movie talk, though.
Because we do have it scheduled for movie talk.
You are listening to the clubhouse.
We are live every Saturday night.
Eight o'clock on the East Coast.
Five o'clock on the West Coast.
Chad, I'm going to need to do you,
have you do me a real quick favor?
I'll need you to for the next two minutes.
Because I forgot to turn on ESPN news to talk
about Fox and Hound on the 28th.
Well, sir, you want to join me on this one, Don?
Gladly.
Gladly.
We are, we are going to be beating a path
to the door of Fox and Hound.
Again, again, once again.
Again, it feels like it's been like forever, though.
Well, yes, it's what, five weeks or something like six weeks,
since the last, but I missed the last one though, didn't.
Oh, yeah.
So yeah, but there was supposed to be,
there was already supposed to be a pay-per-view already.
Yeah.
And then there was supposed to be hell in the cell,
then vengeance at the end of the month.
But then what they did is they canceled that vengeance
and hell in the cells on the 28th.
And then, you know, three weeks after that,
they're doing survivor series.
So they're given a five, six week break
from their last pay-per-view.
Then three weeks later, they're doing their major.
That makes no sense to me.
But talk to Vince.
They schedule all that.
Yeah, because Vince is going to listen to us.
Oh, yeah, sure.
Yeah, totally.
He won't listen to his own creative staff or his kids.
Oh, they're firing the creative staff already,
which we'll get into later on that.
But yeah, Fox and Hound though,
I mean, you know, it's like, I mean, the crowd,
you know, get old, you know, LT, I mean,
it's LA.
I mean, me and him getting rowdy with everybody else there.
It's like who's seen it live.
And this is Halloween weekend.
At the 28th.
So what I'm saying is, I wonder if it's going to be a little bit more odd
with the Halloween theme crowd.
Oh, Halloween, Halloween weekend.
I'm thinking that might be a little bit more,
uh, I don't know.
Colorful than usual, possibly.
Well, the paper view itself, though,
you know, and we can save it for wrestling talk.
I think it's not going to be,
I think some stuff will happen, which
we'll be doing on the road.
I don't think it's going to be a big barn burner where
you're going to see Mick fully jumped off the top of the cage
or the bar wire coming out.
I hope not.
I'm back.
Okay.
Put back.
Oh, I feel much better.
We're talking about it.
Fox and the Hound guys,
28th, pay 60 bucks at home
or if pay five bucks at the door,
come in great food, drink specials,
the show before with Rob and Chad.
And you got me and L.A.
screaming at them the whole time
in the show doing chat chat.
Daniel Bryan Van one.
Yeah.
Daniel Bryan.
It's a good time.
Save some money.
Have a good time.
Feel like you're part of the show.
Five bucks gets you in the door.
And great food though.
It's chicken fingers.
Oh, the chicken fingers.
Oh, and the sliders.
You're a fan of those.
I am a fan, sir.
And their pretzels.
Oh, I'll tell you to give me a start on the pretzels.
You have to come join us, sir.
I don't really know what you're about wrestling.
You don't have to.
But that's not that that's that's the beauty of it.
You don't have to.
Oh, okay.
A lot of it's just the camaraderie.
It gives us an excuse to all hang out.
That's what I've been saying for the longest time.
You know, I mean,
we have the rest of you come second and we
and we have the Empire
and they're always fun to be around.
But the genius of it is just
all of us hanging out having a good time.
Oh, okay.
And there's other sports on to you.
So you know, you know,
they usually have a Sunday night game up.
So you can watch thinking of Sunday night games.
Let's talk about
going back to week five.
The Thursday night game last week.
Of course, we talked about St. Louis over Arizona last Sunday.
My dolphins get a win.
Woo-hoo.
In Cincinnati.
Reggie Bush 19 yards for a 19 rushes for 48 yards.
That's our top good night.
Sorry.
The Giants over Cleveland 41 to 27 sucks
to have the under in that game.
Eli Manning 25 of 37 to 59 three touchdowns
in a pick in the Eeks out Green Bay.
Green Bay now two and three.
Not the only team.
Need but yeah, but I'll tell you what,
they lose this week.
There there could be Mass hysteria in Wisconsin.
That's all I'm saying.
Your Pittsburgh Steelers.
Be filling.
They didn't call you can call that a win.
I wouldn't say you beat them.
You want to win.
We want technically won the game.
You're one in one this week.
Can we just say that exactly?
I was gonna say we get the week six.
I have nothing to say.
Had a bit of a problem with Troy Polymalu.
The Titans.
Well, but what's the latest on Polymalu?
Is he is he out for the rest of the season?
I don't know yet.
I talked about re aggravating the injury on Sunday.
They they don't know.
Michael Vick, 20 of 30 for 175 yards and two touchdowns.
Sooner or later, that luck was going to run out.
And you heard about Vick now.
The thing was a dog.
You talk about a story that the media's blown out of proportion.
Yes, the guy owns a dog.
He can.
It's not part of his probation.
He's gotten rights to do it.
And if it's done the right way,
who might have judged the guy?
Now the way everybody found out,
he takes a picture at his breakfast table on Instagram.
There's a box of milk bones on the table.
Maybe he needs extra fiber.
They're crunchy.
They taste like chicken.
What are you going to do?
There's a movie where they're eating the guy
eats milk bones the whole time.
What's that movie now?
And oh, that's um, that was in Turner and Hooch.
Oh, no, no.
Didn't Tom Hens eat those in Turner and Hooch?
I don't get me.
Don't get me.
Some comedy or something.
No, it was, I'm sorry.
Where am I?
What am I?
He's the weapon.
Oh, yeah, that's it.
It was not given to me.
Oh, yeah.
What are my favorite movie franchises ever?
And I can't remember that.
That was that was three.
What that was three Atlanta stays undefeated
as they beat Washington 24 to 17.
Matt Ryan acted like a quarterback again.
34, 52, 345, 2 touchdowns and a pick.
Santana Moss doesn't even break.
The century mark for Washington.
RG3 goes down and goes down hard.
Did you see that hit?
Yeah, yeah.
And they're saying he may start tomorrow.
Where's he?
He practiced on Friday and he may start tomorrow.
He still thinks he's Batman, but he'll start tomorrow.
Love that string of court.
Would you like that citizen?
Would you like to write about that?
Baltimore over Kansas City and a Barnburner 9 to 6.
But somehow Ray Rice took a silksuit 17 rushes for 102 yards.
And Jamal Charles can have 30 for 140.
Okay.
Chicago beating up on Jacksonville.
And I mean beating up on Jacksonville.
41 to 3.
They score four touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Is that all?
Like you're at that point you're already up.
You're going to beat them.
It's 13 to 3.
Okay, you score one, padded up.
But put the scrubs in.
Yeah, you know what?
Maybe the scrubs already is.
Isn't college.
Second string, I don't know.
Isn't college.
Seattle over Carolina.
Golden Tate.
Three receptions for 31 yards in a touchdown.
16 to 12.
New England.
Brady loses it.
Brady beats Manning.
31, 21.
And a great game.
Great game.
This was a great game to watch.
We watched most of this at Joe's Crabshot.
Got a really good time watching that game.
Buffalo.
Their woes continue.
San Francisco 45 to 3.
Go.
Oh, and wait.
TSC who they get tomorrow.
That's going to be a heck of a game.
Tennessee loses the Minnesota 30 to 7.
Percy Harvin.
Former Gator Great.
Eight receptions for 108 yards in a touchdown.
But Matt Hasselback.
97 years old.
Still trying to get stuff done.
26 of 43, 200 yards of touchdown to pick.
It looks great.
He looks great for 90.
Yeah, he just.
Well, yeah, I don't know if you've seen him.
His brother's married to a Fularsky.
Elizabeth Fularsky.
Yeah, so now I'm going to Elizabeth Hasselback.
I mean, you just play football.
He's got to stay around the house all day long.
Well, that's his brother.
Oh, okay.
Like Matt Matt will go into.
His brother's already in the booth.
Yeah, he can go in the booth, too.
They're both very, very good talkers.
I just.
I always see him in Seattle.
New Orleans finally wins the game at home against Seattle.
Drew Breeze has almost 400 yards passing.
Four touchdowns at a pick.
He now becomes.
He now breaks Johnny United's his record for most consecutive games
with a touchdown pass in that game Sunday night.
Was it 47 now?
48.
48 was to set the record.
And Monday night Houston over the jets.
Now they are only two undefeated left.
Atlanta and Houston 23 to 17.
They are calling for Tito time.
I don't know.
Because I'll tell you they let him throw a ball.
He put that ball right on the receiver's hands.
Receivers dropped it like a hot potato.
Don't don't underestimate Tito time.
Just saying.
Guy knows what he's doing.
Thursday night.
I'm just going to let you talk sir,
because I want to know what happened Thursday night.
Because Pittsburgh by Vegas was a six and a half point favorite.
I would have taken that line all day long.
Twice on Sundays.
Might have even mortgaged the house to do it.
What in the holy hell happened in Nashville.
Thursday night.
For those who don't know,
I have the stealer emblem tattooed on my bicep.
You do.
Okay.
I am a guy.
You and barbed wire to steal your buddies.
And I just kind of formed my dad.
Call me say happy birthday.
And, you know, and I said,
what's happened?
The city's are screaming at the defense of coordinator.
Plus Paul Mallow.
And too much run.
This is what they're still saying out there with that new offensive.
Yeah.
What?
I told you to begin.
Ben's got a cannon.
Use it.
What I saved that last time I was on the show.
When, uh, when, when I said,
this run offense is not going to work.
You know, and he could move.
He could run.
But they want to play that old smash mouth old school.
No, that's the new offensive coordinator only.
No one else.
The whole city is going to put it right now.
I don't know.
They lost.
Hey, you never know what the stealer is.
And I can't even go at least their quality losses.
You lost a tennis scene.
I know.
I know.
I'm just like, wow.
I know.
Like this saddens me.
I know.
I know.
A team that travels better than any team.
And I will always give Pittsburgh credit
because I don't care where you go.
You will find Pittsburgh stealer fans.
And you will find them in hordes.
Oh, yeah, but I'll say that they're playing in Dallas this year,
which has been brought up in, which is once every eight years.
Gary was with you the last time they played here in Dallas.
Just the birdie was a quarterback with this brother and stuff.
It was what it was a 30, 40% stealer fans.
Yeah, it was almost half that they travel better than just about any team.
About half about that.
The crowd was for the Steelers.
You saw terrible towels everywhere.
It's going to happen again this time.
You know, I just don't know.
Hopefully they'll get the thing in line and fire that up.
I mean, Rockless Burger.
You can't even complain about Rockless Burger
because 24 of 43 63 a touchdown at a pit
compared to Hasselback 25 of 44 to 90.
Did you see that touchdown that the last touchdown to
that tied the game?
I think bounced off the thing.
It's just luck.
It's just like Murphy's law.
Done.
Let's talk about tomorrow.
Gladly.
Chad, your Dallas Cowboys.
A fat 500 right now.
Go to M&T Bankfield to play the Baltimore Ravens.
I would like to say the following.
I will say this on this show.
Flacco comes out in the offseason and says he's in a league quarterback
like like Manning did last year and everybody laughed at him.
Flacco's putting up the numbers.
I will say this as much as I hate the Ravens.
I respect them.
We play them twice.
They're undefeated at home.
And this is Baltimore.
Yes, sir.
If I had to bet everything I own, it would be for Baltimore
to know this respect, Chad.
No, none taken.
But we're going to have to do a pride bet on our game later this year.
Think of something.
Oh, what?
A pride bet.
Hair versus hair.
Do it.
Screw you.
Be a man.
Screw you.
If I win, you have to watch a wolf feral movie.
Did that already?
OK.
When would you rather do hair versus hair or that?
You're not moderating this.
This has got nothing to do with you.
I'm a executive producer.
I bought right away.
Nobody dropped a quarter in your high any.
We have time.
We have time.
Shut up.
My Miami Dolphins host the Marginal St. Louis Rams
who can't win on the road.
So I'll take that.
We were one and one at home.
Detroit at Philadelphia.
Detroit is trying to curve this thing around with a one and three
start.
Cincinnati at Cleveland in the Battle of Ohio.
Cleveland is windless.
I love it.
Cleveland 05.
Home record.
0 and 2.
You think not much is going to change there.
Battle of the jumping sheep.
Indianapolis will be at the jets.
So we'll see how that works out.
Kansas City at Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay 1 and 3.
They've got to curve this thing around.
Oakland at the undefeated Atlanta Falcons.
Good luck to Oakland.
New England at Seattle.
By the way, both of those teams are both three and two.
Let that sink in for a minute.
Seattle.
I see it.
I have a close one.
What's the line on that?
I don't have the line on me.
I would probably, I'd probably go Seattle on that since it's in Seattle.
Buffalo at Arizona.
Arizona.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
It's a lot of Minnesota at Washington.
Washington.
Minnesota.
That's a lot for and one.
That's a Minnesota.
It's in it's in it's in it's in an RFK.
Whatever they're calling it now.
Is it FedEx stadium?
Thanks so.
The giants are at San Francisco, sir.
This is game of the day.
Oh, without question.
Giants at San Francisco.
It's the late game on you could be on your local Fox affiliate.
This is game of the day.
That's why I said wait till you see who they're playing this week.
This is going to be a shootout.
Green Bay at Houston.
Green Bay is in a must win situation right now because if you've got four losses
you're way behind in the division.
Houston also undefeated.
Wow, we got a pack schedule tomorrow.
And your Monday night game this week.
Denver at San Diego.
We're not to melt down time for San Diego yet.
So this could be a game.
Remember.
San Diego was a lot like the Rangers were for a while.
Wait till the all start break.
Wait until the half by point and it will melt down.
But we're not there yet.
So that's going to be of course on your local ESPN cable channel.
Whatever that may be.
Teams on the by is nobody on the by this week.
Oh, there it is.
Chicago, New Orleans, Carolina, Jacksonville.
All on the by this week.
New Orleans needs a break.
Shoo.
By the way, Gidel reissues the suspensions for those guys in New Orleans.
My only problem.
These they've all of course they've all appealed because you have 72 hours and they
can sell play during the appeal which makes no sense to me.
Jonathan Filma.
He was suspended for the entire year.
He was the one.
I got the full year suspension of the players.
Either this guy's got amazing luck or he's a genius.
Because after week one, he was put on the unable to perform list.
Right.
Injury.
Since the deal has been put back into play.
Since the suspension has been back into play.
While he's on the unable to perform list, he can still collect the game check.
Explain that to me.
What's the point?
Good union.
Yeah, either he's amazingly lucky or he's just a plain genius or it's his contrast.
It's like dude, dude, dude, put me on the unable to perform list.
I know I did this even though I'm talking about it.
I didn't do it.
But I still get a game check if I get suspended.
Oh and by the way, you know since prejury's is going to break that record,
why don't we go ahead and let Sean Payton go to the Sunday night game and have it be in the box?
I know.
Oh boy.
Yeah, they were tough on that suspension.
Hey Gidel, how do those tap shoes feel?
I just want to know.
How do tap shoes feel?
Oh, it makes me mad.
Like, like, like, like,
bunch of babies.
Like Charles Durning and Biss of the Horror House.
Ooh, I like to dance a little side to it.
Do you have something for the next segment, sir?
P-O-I?
Yeah.
I was assuming you did.
No, you had both this week.
Remember, I said you had P-O-I in the list and then you told me he had the list,
so it means you had P-O-I.
God almighty.
Oops.
He needs to sides to ask me this.
Now also.
Well, you know you have your responsibilities,
and so I shouldn't have to tell you.
Dude, it's gotten so discombobulated.
I never know who's got what and when.
Anybody want to bring one up?
I saw Frank and Winnie last night.
You want to do Tim Burton films?
No, we ain't got that kind of time.
Or the career path that Tim Burton has taken.
P-O-I, which is for person of interest,
is a segment we do on this show where we take a person or an entity
and we debate their greatness or lack thereof.
And you know what, I'm going to throw one out there
because we started this discussion earlier.
We might as well go ahead and continue it now.
We talked earlier.
Now this is something we talk about in pre-show.
We didn't even talk about on there.
I thought, you know what?
That might make a good P-O-I.
For those of you that are in Texas,
we have a chain of places called Studio Movie Girl.
Oh, okay.
When I was a kid, we had a place back home.
It was called Cinnamon Draft House.
It was the same basic bit,
but they had the greatest bit ever.
They showed Monday Night Football every week.
And if you went there, it was in a movie theater.
So it was at the big screen.
If you watched Monday Night Football,
it was free beer until the first point scores.
Oh, man!
We went there one night,
and the redskins were playing somebody.
I know it was the redskins because the guys that were in the corner,
they knew the redskins fight song.
Every time the redskins scored, they would sing.
Or they got a first down.
Or whatever it was.
Nobody scored until the third quarter.
And this is, I mean, I was underage at this point.
It didn't matter to me anyway.
But there were bodies.
Just...
And they did a free nacho bar at halftime.
It was half-priced pizza.
The theater closed at the very time.
Okay.
No, they stayed open for a long time.
You can ask, if you ever,
whenever you talk to Julia or James,
you can ask them.
They were with me that night.
And we were both like,
Dude, they're still in the score.
This is such a bad idea.
Of course, people went all the way through halftime.
And people were like,
I don't care about my team.
Don't score!
But that was a good score!
Where the game would start,
the place would always be packed.
But as soon as there was a score,
it like half the people would just...
I can see that.
First and goal!
Fumble!
I use my team on Fumble!
Police!
You're like to do in the Buffalo Wild Wings commercial
to hit the sprinklers on the...
Oh, it's so...
But that kind of gets away from what we were talking about.
The studio movie girl is where you can watch a movie
and you sit kind of at it.
I guess you could call it a shelf.
And you can order food in the food in SMGs.
It's good.
It's expensive.
It's crap, but it's passable.
Fox and Hound is better.
But I'll be honest with you,
when I did the dark night marathon,
I tried their ribs for the first time.
Wow.
Really?
Ribs are good.
Ribs are good.
I'll try ribs.
Very impressed by the ribs.
I still love their chicken Caesar salad pizza.
So they've opened one at what used to be...
Yeah, called the Lowes Keystone Park,
which is a huge building.
What was it like?
16 screens or something?
It's been sitting empty for what?
Two years now?
I don't know how long it's been.
It's been a minute.
It's been two or three years.
It's been a minute.
I can't remember the last time I said this.
But in that theater.
In pre-game, pre-game pre-show,
Gary told me that they're opening
an Alamo Drafthouse,
which is a very famous theater in Austin,
where they do all kinds of awesome screenings
and retro movies.
It's world famous.
I mean, I think I'd say it's safe to say.
Though, well, they have them everywhere now.
Yeah, not just in Austin.
But Austin was the first one about the Austin State.
It started in Austin.
And I said, oh, where are they building it?
He goes, it's going to be at Spring Valley in Central.
And I was like, well, wait a minute.
That's where Studio Movie Girl was.
He's like, no, no, no.
This is like a block in the North.
Yeah.
On the same side of the freeway, if I'm not mistaken.
So, I kind of want to talk about,
and it was something that Chad really brought up.
When stuff like that happens,
does it flood the market?
Because to me, this building that Studio Movie Girl
has taken over is,
and I said this in pre-show.
They may have bitten off more.
They could chew because it's a huge building.
You're talking,
God, what would you say?
10,000 square feet.
Oh, yeah.
Minimum.
At least.
16 autorems.
16 autorems.
And how many is Alamo looking to build in there?
There is going to be eight screens.
So, half the size.
And it's also going to be not very big screens either.
I mean, there's not going to be these huge monster.
Is it going to be more on the style of like
Studio Movie Girl at Royal?
It's going to be more along the lines of
or like the old one that these have a precedent with.
It's going to be like,
like, great by Mills AMC.
The great by Mills AMC,
they took their 24 screen or 20 screen theater,
split it in half,
made one half of it the
the regular movie theater.
And the other half is just kind of
Oh, I've seen pictures of it.
Looks awesome.
I really want to get out there.
Maybe 50 people in some autorems.
Nobody under 21 allowed in certain screenings.
Even better.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I would say period.
I'm going to be a period.
There are rooms.
There are rooms that some of the smaller rooms
you cannot go in unless you're 21 years old.
On board.
Yeah.
I'm going to love it.
And then try this for a minute and a half.
Yeah.
And the seats go all the way back.
All the way back.
Oh, that's dangerous.
They're leather seats.
They're like, they're like, does, you know,
like the seats they have at, uh, at, um,
sharper image.
But they're five.
Oh, that's how the deer see now.
P.O.I. starting to morph a little bit.
Because I kind of like where we're going with this.
There's another place that's kind of like this.
Isn't that there's like North Plano,
Frisco Allen,
but it costs you like 20 bucks to get in.
Yeah.
I can't remember the name of it off hand.
Yeah, there's another one.
It's, it's, it's, it's kind of, it's kind of,
it's not as expensive as that one,
but it's all on those lines.
And we've kind of done this on P.O.I.
before, but I kind of want to go a little bit deeper
because we have a guy Gary that's in the studio
who is very deeply entrenched in the movie industry.
From me, from me, not a crick standpoint,
but, but you know, a lot of things.
You kind of keep your thumb on the heartbeat.
Well, I write for bigfamboi.com.
And I write who was a sponsor of the screening.
We went to on Monday, right?
And I also write for a Zellic film news.
Always believe me.
You want to shamelessly pluck shamelessly pluck.
I'm not going to stop you.
All right.
I am not a bit.
And, you know, September was same as self-promotion month.
So I'm good with it.
Oh, bigfamboi.com is doing their big,
huge fan days next week.
Right.
And Stan Lee's is in,
in, in, uh,
Oh, that was coming.
Irving.
Irving.
A Comic Con.
A Comic Con.
Yeah.
Yep.
Uh, fan days.
Uh, Stan Lee's going to be there.
The great Stanley who just got out of surgery.
Yeah.
And I'm going to say you,
you know, if you want to meet him,
get his autograph.
You need to do it pretty soon
because I don't think he's got many more.
God bless him.
Trips around the sun.
But I, we kind of turn this discussion
into more like we talked about this for the theater
going experience.
And it was something you just hit on
is something that I'm very big on.
This whole thing of no one under 21
allowed in period.
Oh, trim, come true.
And, and I remember cinema
did this for like a week.
And I just, I guess they just didn't hold on to it.
To me, if it's an R rated movie,
I'm okay with after six o'clock.
You don't get in.
We don't care who you're with.
Yeah.
Oh, and they also won't let you in.
You can, you can, certain theaters
you can come in.
But only if you're with parents.
But see, that's it.
But that's an R rating anyway.
No, no, I mean,
Oh, even if you're between 17 and 21
on board, on board.
And maybe this is old man Rob talking.
I don't know.
But the theater going experience
has really suffered with me.
Oh, yeah.
And it's something that I guess we'll talk about a little bit.
And we're going to talk about this more in movie talk.
Three quarters of this room
because Chad was busy with his daughter that night.
We went to a screening of Argo.
But I did off Monday night.
No, no, no, you did off.
We went to a screening of Argo on Monday night.
And one of the things that absolutely beats me
into oblivion.
Is I'm pretty sure you were in the theater by this point.
Because Gary showed up later than we did.
Because you know, he's pressing.
He gives us so everyone to some of us have to fight for seats.
I'm just saying.
They do the bit where they come out
and they give stuff away before the movie.
I don't know.
And Chad and I share a great story.
One of my more shining moments.
Lila and the blue hair for you.
No, not Lila though.
Why a moment.
Which we were what movie was that?
X-Men.
Was that X-Men?
I thought it was.
I thought it was the model movie with the glitter.
Model movie with the glitter.
A Megan's Colony, by the way.
Does she not know what time it is?
She probably just got settled.
But the guy, there was a guy and
there's no way for me to say this politically correct.
He was of a far Eastern, far Eastern descent.
And just like one to argue every point
about the question, had the answer to the question completely wrong.
The answer was Canada and he said the US and he was like,
well that's still North America.
He didn't ask what content into you moron.
You know?
And that just beats me in oblivion.
But the fact that we've gotten to a point
that even its screenings that people aren't respectful enough,
like there was a lady too rose behind us.
Yeah, Gary was down low.
Like just running her gap.
And at one point she actually said and I'm not even exaggerating.
Don't tell me to shut up.
I'm 45 minutes into a movie.
You're talking to me like I'm in
three miles away and you're two rows behind me.
Need I tell my story?
It's just I think that as much as I love my home theater system,
I think it is ruined the theater going experience.
You are going to love the Alamo group,
the Alamo when they open because they have waiters
and they play the scene before them with this girl.
It was her courting when she calls them up
and yells at them.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, this is so great.
It is the viewer about this.
It is they show it before the movies.
They play it and she says, I went to your theater
and she starts cussing them out and just believe
and they play this before the movie.
And they run what she says over it.
You know, like it's brilliant.
And they let you know because they told her to shut up for cell phone or something.
Yeah, it's happened like what?
Like four years ago.
I don't know.
And they've actually turned it into a promotional bit for the theater.
Yeah, and they are.
I would admit they're by name too.
Yeah, and what they do is that you have these little
order cards and if somebody's talking,
you're right on their person behind me talking.
And they don't know what you're riding.
These people may be ordering another beer.
Right?
And then the wage tag picks it up
and they'll look, of course, as you need to leave now.
But if you heard what they're doing in Britain though,
they have movie ninjas.
Huh?
And I swear, this is the greatest thing ever.
There are people that the theater pays
and they dress in all black.
And they sit in random seats that go in after the movie starts.
So it's already dark.
And if they catch you talking,
these movie ninjas literally grab you
and remove you from the theater.
And you can't see them because they're dressed in all black.
I will say this about screenings that
I love the press screenings more because
it's there's most of the time it's respectful.
What happened for me is a rarity to all the
screenings I've been with Gary
because most of these are press people or people
or in the movies and they get it.
Yeah, yeah.
And that's all I can buy.
Going to Avengers at North Park on opening weekend?
No.
What's it?
What's it?
What's the, I was there.
I was there for the marathon.
Well, talk about the rules.
I'm talking to the world and this thing together.
No, don't talk to me Saturday night.
I'm talking Saturday night.
Okay, okay.
You know, with the teens coming in
and everything, it's going to be packed with them.
But there's, of course, it's going to be talking.
That's why me, I go to a movie.
I try to get Gary.
Let's go to the value view,
which is on the default mall now.
But the people, there's not very many people there
because it's such a defunct play set.
You're not going to have that much of a talkers
or anything like that.
You know, I'd hate to go to a pack theater
on opening weekend for some big hit with the
teammates.
Unless it's an event movie,
I just don't go to the movies anymore.
I'll wait three months and watch it on blue right.
I just, and that makes me sad
because I worked in the theater in high school.
I'm a big fan of movie theaters.
I love the whole experience.
And it just, it makes me sad.
But do you have a lady at the movie?
I might hear my name up.
Did you ever see scary movie?
Yes.
We were talking about this after the movie.
The lady on the cell phone.
I'm telling you, Rara.
It was the same.
And Jack FM was one of the sponsors of the screening.
So there was kind of a bit there
and they were just spending a wheel
with some of their prize winners.
And that got to be a beating, too.
Where is the chase?
And how quickly can we cut that?
And it was at the Angelica, which for those
it's a nice theater.
One of the independent.
Yeah.
One of the nicest ones in town, actually.
That was where the big Academy Awards party
at Devon through last year was kind of last there.
That was a fun time.
I was there, too.
Except for the guy next to me who freaked out on me.
I was tweeting during the show.
And he was like, put your phone down.
Like, grab my phone and flipped it over
because it had been lit from the back.
I'm like, are you looking for me to hit you
with an anvil, Palmer?
I can't who you are.
They're telling us to tweet during the show.
So where's the problem?
But I just, the theater-going experience for me
is just, it's diminished so great.
Too many people think they're just
sitting on their living room couch.
But that's why, to me, home theaters kind of ruined it
because people think they're in, they don't teach
their kids at home.
Look, this is not the way.
Your lovely wife, who's a British descend,
said that her friends got removed from the theater
when they were 13.
It's just about respect.
It all boils down to respect.
Or lack there.
And don't bring your kids to Freddie versus Jason
when they don't understand full English yet.
And they're five years old.
Yeah, that happened to me.
That happened to me.
And that's why I won't go to the Mesquite 30
because that happened.
And the theater was like, well,
you should have come and told us during the movie.
I'm like, you could have walked in and heard it, Homer.
You know, and it just, why did you let this lady
and her four kids, the oldest one was seven
into Freddie versus Jason on a Saturday afternoon?
Yeah, like whenever I went to go see Gladiator,
there was a, I thought that was Jurassic Park 3.
I don't know.
I'll give this a different one.
It's a different one.
And two teenage girls were in there
that looked like they were barely old enough
to be there themselves with two toddlers.
Gladiator, like he said, on a Saturday afternoon.
And they got, the kids got noisy.
They just kind of sat there like,
oh yeah, everybody will just kind of get used to it
after a while.
But the worst experience ever was Jurassic Park 3.
The movie or the movie experience?
The movie experience.
Yeah, well, I still haven't seen JP3.
Let me clarify, really.
Jurassic Park 3 is better than Jurassic Park 3.
Sad is that may sound.
That's true.
The one that was not directed by Spielberg
was the better film.
This kid was sitting next to my ex
and then I was sitting on the other side of her.
And this kid was just having a conversation.
Mommy, what kind of dinosaur is that?
Why is that?
Why are they running from that down?
Because they don't want to get eaten.
You stupid twerp shut up.
And you just kept running his lap the whole time.
Well, there's a scene where there's like,
like, dead silence.
It's whenever they find the kid that they're looking for.
Because that kid's got lost on the island.
It's like, Teleone and William H.
This isn't the kid.
Yeah, looking for.
And he stumbles like, anyway,
he finds Dr. Grant, you know, a Sam Neal's character.
And they're hiding in this food truck or something.
So they come out, they sleep the night off
so they don't get attacked by raptors.
And they're coming out in daylight.
And it's dead quiet.
You just hear birds and crickets and birds and crickets.
Also, this kid just starts screaming,
look out for the dinosaur.
Not a dinosaur in sight.
And a friend of mine that was there just went,
shtam!
And so finally, the grandmother,
because his mother had gotten up to go to the grocery store
apparently, because she was gone forever,
comes back after we tell this kid to shut up
after like the rose in front of us, the row we were on.
The rose looked to him like, lady, please,
put a sock in his face, anything.
Just shut him up.
So, you know, mother of the year comes back
and you hear the grandmother whispering.
And next thing you hear is, what?
Nobody tells my blanket, you black kid, to shut up.
And I lean forward and I said, yeah, we noticed.
It's just, you need to shut up.
I was like, no, ma'am, you need to shut up
and you need to shut your kid up while you're at it.
And if there's any theater owners
that are listening to this broadcast by any,
by any stretch, because anything can happen.
Help a brother out.
We will give you all the free advertising you want.
Yes, just every other hour.
Make it easier on the rest of us by weeding out this riff raff.
That's what I'm saying.
You're gonna love the Alamo draft.
Sounds right up my alley.
It's gonna open when in April.
April, that's the second one.
Well, they do the groundbreaking Tuesday morning.
They're doing the groundbreaking.
One block from the SMG.
Yeah, and they, I went to a press.
Okay, well, here's what happened.
I was invited with a bunch of other press people
to go down to Austin to do the studio
movie girl experience.
Yeah, the Alamo tracks.
I mean, Alamo draft has experience.
I know that's what they were screaming.
They constantly kept screening.
The shark is still working.
Yeah.
Now constantly showed up the Alamo draft house down there.
And what happened was they drove us.
They took us all the way down there on the giant party bus.
And then they took us to their newest one they built
and showed us how they, how they do the,
they have this pre-show.
That's awesome.
They do the, they don't show like other movie clips
and, you know, they, they don't do like,
please buy commercials, please buy a house
for this real T.H.
That what they do is they do this,
they do like these great, they show these old video clips
from like, and like what's gonna be like,
like video clips such as these old dating clips.
You know, huh?
This one goes just like in like Star Wars happens.
I really want a girl who wants to see the fours.
And they're like real dating clips.
They're on YouTube.
I've seen their hilarious, they're funny as all of them.
And like before they showed Conan, before Conan,
they have all these clips of all these other bad,
sword and sorcery films.
Oh, nice.
So they theme it?
Yeah.
I mean, I mean, I mean, I'm telling you,
this is gonna be, this is gonna be heaven for us.
I'm sold.
Yeah, I'm sold me anymore.
And, and they do, they're gonna be doing.
They cater to the geek.
They really cater to the movie geek.
They're gonna do, they're not gonna do all of the Lord,
the Rings films with food that like if they're eating
cheese, then they bring you the cheese they're eating.
Shhh.
And they're gonna do, it's gonna, it's gonna be the
whole three movies.
It's like a hundred and fifty dollar ticket,
but you watch all three movies and it's a seven course meal.
Is it the, but is it the extended cuts?
Yeah, they would have to be at the charging day.
Oh my god.
Block out a day and buy a catheter while you're at it.
Yeah, they're, they're, they're, they're, they do that one.
And like they have, they have special wines.
They, they, they, they did a special one.
I want to watch the next movie.
I don't think I don't, I'm not that kind of one.
I was a spried.
They did, they did a red and a white and inconfebible red.
And they got a bottle hat on inconfebible.
And they gave out, they had wine with the, with the meals
and everything.
And they do all sorts of cool stuff like that.
You don't have to stop, I can't take it anymore.
I believe we have now hit the longest POI in the history
of this show.
Oh, and they fed us too when we were down there,
but they, they, they gave us all these appetizers.
And then they took us to another theater for Conan.
They said, whatever you want to eat, whatever you want to drink,
just have at it.
Stop bragging.
And you're just going, sir, are you aware of who you said that to?
I just want to put that out there.
You may want to just take out a small business loan
because we're done with this joining.
I'll be done left.
I'm just letting you know ahead of time.
That would be me if I was there.
I'm just, I'm a warning.
I made sure I didn't eat anything on the way down.
I will clean this joint out.
You better hope there's a croaker nearby
because it's about to go down.
I have a golden corral inside this neck, I'm saying.
I'm sorry.
I lost my mind there for a moment.
Let's move on and do a little music talk
as we are your one-stop shop for all things sports
and entertainment.
Please remember to visit our brand new website,
www.theclovehousepodcast.com.
What, what happened to the last 20 minutes?
I don't know.
We didn't have a POI, just 20 minutes POI.
We didn't have a POI, and POI turned it into nine hours.
Music news.
Your American music award nominations are out.
Rihanna and Nicki Minaj lead with four nods of peace.
Ooh, this is what our music has come to.
I hope I like this song a lot.
I do like this song.
I swear she's like the female Christopher Cross.
She always sounds like she's zipping me.
What's in here like?
Vayner.
I mean, me like Christopher Cross.
So then there's this next story, which is really weird.
Taylor Swift, who has made a career out of songs
of being the dumped girl and being the romantic victim,
if you will.
Abavictum.
Who now has been accused of cheating
on her boyfriend, Connor Kennedy, with Arnold's kid,
Patrick, who, oh, by the way, is his cousin?
Yeah.
There's a reason she lives in Tennessee.
I'm just saying.
I read this and went, oh, oh, this is going on the run sheet.
Oh, this is happening.
This will happen.
Darn it, darn it, darn it, darn it, darn it, darn it, darn it.
Basically, yeah.
So what I read this, and I was like,
do this totally negate her last three albums?
I'm just wondering.
And then for when I didn't even come out yet,
kind of negates her career at this point.
Yeah, girls making money.
She's on the cover of the new Rolling Stone.
Looks gorgeous.
I just thought that was me.
Connor Kennedy is going to take that guitar
that she shed her tears on and cracking over the back
over a freaking head, or crack himself over the head.
Say it was stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.
Say what you will, but a year ago,
she sold out the Cowboys stadium.
Yes, she did.
Only, worstly, acoustic buildings in the country.
It'll probably be the last thing you ever played there.
No, there's my wife went to a concert there in June.
She was rocked.
Kenny Chesney and the acoustics are so bad.
Yeah, the only event I've ever attended there
was at Star Wars concert.
Oh, yeah, he went, I wish that I had to work.
Stupid hours.
That's going to be a weird going back to work tomorrow.
I'm going off for a whole week.
Oh, she's been, but the thing is, I have to work tomorrow.
No, I have to work tomorrow.
OK.
But the weird thing is, I've been getting up
at the same time every day, because I don't
get up to 11 o'clock anyway.
There you go.
So some rumors were completely blown to bits this past week.
No, you're supposed to play the other one.
I watched Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,
and it opens with a cover of this song.
I know, but remember when we talked about the reunion
we played with Lubby.
Yeah, this is something made for it's song by this band.
But the cover of this, that's on the soundtrack
to Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I think it's great.
I'm a huge fan of it.
And by the way, the American version, I've finally
watched it, because I've read the book.
I love the book.
And they haven't put a release date on the second one.
But they've committed to it.
They're going to do it, but you know what's going to happen.
Better hurry up.
But actually, I read the other day that Daniel Craig
almost didn't do it.
Yeah, he's been a little busy here.
Because there was a conflict with Quantum of Solid
or with Skyfall.
And then there was a problem with the Skyfall script,
so it opened up so he could do this movie.
But demand was a press conference
at Madison Square Garden to promote the fact
that they're going to release the O2 show in theaters.
Yeah, Winston.
Which has been five years now.
Yeah, it's five years ago, it's going to be North Park
on Wednesday and Magnolia on Wednesday.
One show.
I saw clips from this the night it happened,
because I was actually in New York City,
and they should clips on the news from the O2 show.
If you are anywhere near a theater to see this go,
because I'm going to tell you something, these three,
haven't lost a step, have not lost a step.
But the rumors, the questions came up about the reunion
and Jimmy Page just said, look, it's not going to happen.
And it just makes me sad.
And they should.
This is the one reunion tour that would make more,
like this reunion tour would make so much money.
God would be taking loans out from them.
Because there were three reunion tours I wanted to see happen.
And I didn't get to see it, I wanted to.
Genesis, which I would have loved to have seen with Peter Gabriel,
but we know that didn't happen.
And now they're not going to leave it again,
because Phil Collins can't play anymore.
The police, which nobody thought would happen,
finally did one year, and they were done with that.
And this one.
Yeah.
What about Floyd?
Not a big Floyd fan.
I'm not a huge Floyd fan.
I respect them, but I got a friend who's a huge fan.
What about Abba?
Oh, that ain't ever going to happen.
Those three want to kill each other now.
No, no, no, no, no, the guys get along.
It's the two women that don't like each other.
But they're getting their own museum in the spring.
Yeah, well, but you know, they were offered a billion dollars
to tour.
And did you also notice that you also had Sweden had a big band
like every decade there for a while?
Because you had Abba?
And then you had Roxette.
Yeah, they said they had Ace of Base.
And there was somebody else in the arts, wasn't there?
Uh, where's the card to get to?
No, that they're, I think they're like Scottish or something.
But that was the 90s.
You have me love me.
They're one hit song.
Say that you love me.
It's like Cartman on Helium.
Music, new releases this coming Tuesday in your local music
store, or wherever you choose to download music, legally,
allegedly.
Christian band, Amberlynn releases their new album, Vital.
I'm very hit or miss with them.
Some other stuff I like, some of it, I really don't.
Brandy releases her brand new album to 11
with a new duet with Monica.
The boy still mine or whatever?
No, it's not as sequel to that song.
It's just a different song.
Death Lock.
If you're into the show, Metal Lock ellipse,
that's these boys.
They released Death Lock, Death Album 3.
Because there were so many unanswered questions
from Death Album 2.
Like, were they really dead?
I have no idea what it was at locked.
Or who was a killer?
Nobody cares.
It was Tim Curry, here we go.
The reason we're playing a little stewie Dan
for you in the background, Donald Fagan releases a solo album
on Tuesday.
You are a big stewie Dan fan.
Yeah, well, stewie Dan.
I knew you were a Buffett fan.
Yeah.
And Sasha's one of the greatest albums.
I put in my top 10 favorite albums, it's Aja.
But see, there are another one with me that are real hit or miss.
I like this song a lot.
Well, you're just a big fan of the mellow chill down music, aren't you?
I'm like, oh, it is.
I love Metallica.
I love Aussie.
I love Pink Floyd.
Good Lord.
Nice.
So, did you see that they did a re-release of Motley Crew's The Dirt
for their 30th anniversary?
Come to know.
It's back and hard back with a slip case on it.
I saw it at that bar.
It's like that.
And is that movie ever going to see the light of the dish?
It doesn't need to.
Because have you read The Dirt?
No.
That is one of the craziest books I have ever.
Because it's their whole story written from their point of view.
It's a lot like they did with Beatles Anthology.
Same style of writing.
And the guy that wrote that also wrote the Aerosmith biography too.
And it's really, really, really.
You just read something and you're like, how do these four individuals still walk the
planet?
But you think I'm a big buffet fan?
You see them what?
56 times?
57.
Wow.
I had 26.
It's a god.
Eh?
No.
Since 32.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's fun to go outside.
He's one of those guys that every time he comes to town, I have plans.
And growing up in South Florida, I've had my flip-up, I worked at a summer camp right
out of high school and they played buffet every morning, like every morning that his greatest
hits album was on a loop.
Wow.
I was like, can I give you something else to play?
Fit six weeks.
The Yomo Burton is placed in the ground.
Well, man.
I haven't heard this song in 56 minutes.
Yeah.
But the thing is, it's the concert experience of going.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, it's the whole buffet voice I'm into.
Don't get me wrong.
You see what he wore.
Yeah.
He showed me the pictures.
The mermaid.
The mermaid.
Yeah.
That and the gay bars.
And they placed the kid where, where, where, where?
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We're going to release his Christmas album, what Christmas means, and from one extreme to another,
Christmas with Scotty McKrieley.
How'd you say it was going to go, Rob?
You had Veronica do it.
I'll get along.
Hum drastic.
He, he, he, he holds the mic like he's holding a flute.
It's all in sync.
Yeah.
I forgot the bit. What are you doing?
You didn't put me in a car almost fell out of it.
I forgot about that.
I'll say about going dang, dang.
Because that's what it was.
If you watched him on idle until they got to live television, that song...
That's the only song he sang no matter what it was.
They did a clip version of every time he sang that song.
And it was like, my God, dude.
And I told you, he literally holds the microphone like he's holding a flute.
And it just...
Why did that kid want American...
That's what got me out on idle.
I could not watch idle after that.
All I know about American Idol is I always see the results show right before 24 came on.
So that's the only reason I know anything about American Idol.
And people would say to Ryan Seacrest, you are running out of time!
Oh, God.
That show is just so far off the wheels are gone.
And then Trey Anastasio from Fish releases a solo album.
Is it any part of Fish?
I got nothing.
No, you're going to make me do this.
Because I'm never really sure he was a fish.
I've never listened to anything of Fish.
Does that matter to Fish?
I'm not into the dead.
Yeah, a fish.
Oh, we also have an album this week from a group called Smoke and Jackal called EP1,
which is Jared Followill of Kings of Leon and Nick Brown of Mona.
So that'll be...
That'll be very wheels off, I'm sure.
I have fun with that.
You always see the clubhouse.
We are alive each and every Saturday night at 8 o'clock on the east coast,
five o'clock on the west coast.
If you have missed any portion of the show,
it's available on archive almost immediately after we go off air.
Of course, Chad's with me tonight, as he always is.
Also, joining me is the official fact checker of the show.
He is Don Ford.
And joining us, Gary, who we have not gotten permission to use this last name for legal reasons.
I didn't know.
I didn't want, in case you were running from a law or anything.
I'm okay, I'm not.
I'm no freeers at all.
Have another great show.
Have a good time.
Let's move on to a little bit of Major League Baseball talk.
The playoffs are on.
Right now, we are actually, the ALCS is underway, Detroit and the Yankees.
Game one.
We are, I mean, to make sure I'm updated on that, because I'm sure I'm not.
Top of the fifth inning, it is scoreless.
Detroit and the Yankees.
Pettit's still on the mound.
He's switched 4.2 innings. He's got four hits and four walks.
Is this in New York or Detroit?
This is in Yankee Stadium right now.
So we are into the two, three, two, four match.
And then tomorrow night, San Francisco and St. Louis get underway.
Oh, St. Louis.
That's going to be a dog.
I'm going to be honest with you.
And I'm going to offend some Yankee fans.
Do not underestimate the Detroit Tigers.
Oh, no.
And I'm going to tell you for two words.
Justin Freakin, Barlander.
He is on fire.
Miguel Cabrera, Triple Crown winner.
The Yankees have got their work cut out for them.
Just like the Giants in St. Louis, I think what you're going to get in the World Series here,
hopefully in about a week, maybe two.
The two best teams in baseball are going to go at it.
And I'm ready.
So who would you pick then?
I think if it goes seven, I'm going to give it to Detroit.
The Yankees have to win at least the first two.
I don't know.
Because they've got to go play three at Detroit.
Yeah.
So you don't want to go into Detroit, anything but up to 0.
You just don't.
As far as the Giants in St. Louis, first of all, St. Louis,
you're the champs until somebody tells you otherwise.
However, they barely got in.
They beat my braves in a one-game playoff.
They went the distance with Sensei.
That surprised me.
Yeah.
But it's, I mean, you've got two great quality series right now.
You know, St. Louis San Francisco starts tomorrow at 430 Eastern.
Game two, Detroit Yankees will be tomorrow night at seven.
The early game will be on Fox.
So you will not get your late game on.
Most of you will probably get that instead of a late game on Fox.
And then Detroit Yankees will be on TBS.
So it's on.
And it's going.
And it's going strong.
Moving news.
And who's San Fran playing tomorrow in football?
Who are they playing today?
Oh, that's an NFC game.
And you said it's late game.
No, probably.
I don't know.
I think it's a Giants, sir.
Yes, sir.
Is that New York or San Fran on that?
They're at San Francisco.
So that'll probably be a late game, then, too.
It is.
Actually, it is a late game.
So you're going to both of those going off the same time.
Yeah.
Enjoy that traffic, San Francisco.
Well, they have no traffic anyway.
So it's going to be perfect.
Beautiful section of the country.
I spent a day there once.
Everything looks like the neighborhood from Full House.
It just does.
Box office numbers.
As you know, on this show, we don't give you last weekend's box office numbers
because they're old.
We give you last night's box office numbers.
Trouble with the curve falls out of the top 10 this week.
Number 10, making $692,000 opening last night.
Atlas shrugged part two.
Still haven't seen the first part.
They changed every one of the actors from part one of them.
Oh, did they really?
Yeah.
It's got Ray Wise in it, who I'm a huge fan of,
because I loved him on Reaper.
Replay the devil.
Very underrated show.
Very upset the way they did.
Did you watch that at all?
No.
Great show.
Go back.
I'm sure it's available on DVD.
Go back and check that out.
Wonderful show.
Another thing the CW screwed up.
Right now.
Opening last night with $1.36 million a movie that is on my list.
It is called Seven Psychopaths.
Oh yeah.
Have you screened this yet here?
Yeah.
Which thing?
The first half of the movie is great.
Really?
The second half of the movie falls apart.
And the second half of the movie they go out into the desert.
And that's when the whole thing falls apart.
Really?
Yeah.
With that cast?
Yeah.
The first part of the movie was just it's smoking hot.
And you know where they introduced the psychopaths.
And it's about a guy who's writing a screenplay called Seven Psychopaths.
Oh.
And that's not walking in.
It's got Harrelson.
Yeah.
No.
It's called Farrell.
In eighth place.
And Sam Rockwall.
Oh.
I like him.
I like him a lot.
He is the man in this film.
He is very...
This is going to sound weird.
But I honestly believe he's very underrated.
Yeah.
I really didn't beat much of him down to this movie.
I was just stunned by how great he was.
Eighth place, making $1.78, $60 million for an eight day total.
Eight days, $16 million for a movie Chad watched last night.
Called Franken Weenie.
Greatness.
Yeah.
The problem with Franken Weenie is...
No.
No.
No.
No.
The problem is so many people haven't seen the beautiful horror films they're making fun of.
Right.
I mean...
Well, both.
Why did it look like a seven minute short?
They turned into an hour and a half movie.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's actually on the extra section of the Blu-ray of the nightmare for Christmas.
Okay.
Which they screened the night before that movie came out.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
You saw it, right?
Yeah.
It's brilliant.
Beautiful.
Beautiful.
There's no reason to see it in 3D.
But I did.
Yeah.
I mean, there's no reason to see it in 3D.
You know, there's no...
It doesn't add to it at all.
It was from me because I actually got the despicable me-trailer with the ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.
That could be the trailer of the year.
You should have been here the night because our little sister, whom we love, Charlotte,
she had...
She loves the first of just as much as I do.
I own the first one.
She hadn't seen the teaser trailer for the sequel.
And we just like...
The first time we played it, I played it so she couldn't see it.
All she could do was hear it.
It went to that ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-da.
And she was done.
She was gone.
She was crying.
And then Chad showed her the video.
And it was really over it.
Well, it was funny.
Is that the first time he hits that little party favor in the theater last night?
Both my wife and my daughter went, ah!
Seven's place, making $1.9 million for a 15-day total of $47.042 for Looper.
Thoughts on that one?
Looper.
Interesting film, interesting concept.
You know, it...
I'm kind of Bruce Willisdow.
Yeah, I can see that.
I'm waiting for Red 2.
Yeah.
I'm waiting for the movie coming out Valentine's Day.
Which one's that?
That...
That was...
That's been moved up then, because that was scheduled for next summer.
February 14th.
So it's set for February 14th now?
Yes.
Number six, making $3 million for a 15-day total of just under $30 million for pitch perfect.
Never underestimate the power of the wallet of a 13-year-old girl.
That's all I'm saying.
This is like bridesmaids for the younger set.
It's glee.
No, it's glee.
It's glee.
A capella.
Yeah, it's glee.
And it actually looks kind of funny to me.
Number five, opening with $3.625 million.
Sony Pictures, Kevin James, Selma Hayek.
Here comes the boom.
That was screening the same night as Sinister.
They did a bunch of screenings for that the last couple of weeks.
Yeah, but the press is only allowed to go see the one.
Yeah, they do a lot of that.
They'll screen it like eight times.
Yeah, but I'll tell you what, the UFC standard behind it.
Because on Ultimate Fighter last week, they took the contestants to see a screening of it in Vegas.
So Dana's standard behind it.
Number four, making $4.2 million for a 15-day total of just under $90 million for hotel Transylvania.
We were just somehow Adam Sandler can find ways to make money.
We were actually going to go see that if we couldn't get into Frankenwini last night.
Really?
I thought you were kind of anti this movie.
No, I was anti a lot of the live action crew that Sandler's been churning.
This movie does look funny though.
It's okay.
It's not great.
I like Frankenwini better.
Frankenwini better.
What are you going to do that are finding Nemo 3D, but they didn't have a showing there.
To be honest, it's more like a series of skits around the whole universal horror kind of monsters.
Which we kind of got, but it better on Frankenwini.
So I'm happy with the way things turn out.
The bronze medal opening last night just under $6 million for a movie we're going to talk about here in just a moment.
Silver medal.
Last week's number one winner, $7 million for an 8-day total of $71 million for taking two.
Which is not a video game that would be Tekken 2.
But it's not kind of the southern way of saying it.
Kind of like naked, naked.
Tekken.
Tekken.
Tekken.
One place in Tekken.
And number one.
Opening last night with $7.45 million.
The aforementioned sinister.
Oh, wow.
It's number one.
Number one.
I'm surprised.
It's $7.45 million now.
I know, but still.
Gary went to a screening of this of sinister on Tuesday.
Mm-hmm.
Worth $7.45 million.
No.
Okay.
There you go.
Ethan Hawke.
You've been told.
Well, it's one of those scary old house films.
You know, like, hold that ghost.
They having to sell a film or like 13 ghosts.
Or like anything Scooby Doo related.
Yeah.
Scooby Doo related.
Right.
It's Scooby Doo with Gore.
House on Haunted Hill.
Yeah.
The Haunting.
The Ring.
All right.
Let's talk about Monday night.
The three of us, not Chad, because he was busy with his daughter.
Went to a screening of Argo, the new film directed and starring the Ben Affleck.
Also the great Victor Garber.
And today, as we were driving home from taking Chad's daughter to the airport, the whole week
I'm going Rory Cochrane.
I know that name, because he was the one of these people that I recognized.
And I just hit me.
He was on CSI Miami.
That's how I know.
I was like, did he play the new ones in Miami that they killed?
Basically, the true story of the 1979, the Iranian American US Embassy in Iran is overrun.
And six people from the US Embassy escape hiding out in the house of the Canadian ambassador.
And Affleck plays a guy that's contracting with the CIA to get them out under the guise of a fake movie.
I'm going to say it.
I'll start, and then we'll go to the two of you, gentlemen.
Not going to be an Oscar-Darling.
Like his last two films I felt were, being Gone Baby Gone, and The Town.
But I thought it was an excellent film.
It'll probably get some nominations.
I don't know that it'll get nominated for Best Picture, but I will say this.
If you know the story, you know how the story ends.
Don knows how the story ends because he won the book.
But I was surprised on how big the type was for that book.
I'm like, this isn't like, you could read that in the after.
Yeah, exactly.
But in the climax of the film, I still felt tense.
And my heartbeat still got higher.
Even though I knew how it was going to end, I was just, I was still,
I was still invested in what was going on.
You know, of course, Affleck with his de facto father-in-law,
because if you don't know, Victor Garber got an internet ordination,
and he married him in the Jennifer Garner.
I thought it was great.
Affleck is a director with me.
He's three for three.
I thought the cinematography was very good.
It had that real gritty feel to it.
That you kind of felt like it really was 1979.
I thought the set design was great.
You put John Goodman and Alan Arkin in a room together.
You're going to get magic.
I didn't have anything bad to say except I just,
it didn't give me that best picture feel.
Gentlemen, I turn it over to you.
Well, I gratitude you.
I think Arkin will, they'll probably give him a supporting actor now.
I will not debate that at all.
He was amazing.
And the reason is it's more of a career.
You know, I mean, he really deserves for his whole career.
And I think to see me the one, they're going to say,
okay, here's, here's your,
whether you wins or not, it's another thing.
Because we got, we haven't seen Lincoln yet.
We haven't seen.
There's a lot of films out there that, you know,
I mean, Lincoln's, Lincoln's going to be kind of like Warhorse.
The one they thought everybody was going to have to beat.
You know, at the moment, that's what everybody's thinking.
But they won't turn that into a musical.
Well, let me ask you this.
And even though I didn't see Argo and him saying
that it doesn't have that Oscar best picture quality.
I was a long shot.
Did you think when you saw the Hurt Locker,
and I'm not saying this just because I wanted Avatar to win,
because I loved Avatar.
Did you mind?
Did you think whenever you saw Hurt Locker,
that it had best picture candidate written all over it?
I thought it was a great movie,
but I didn't think it was best picture.
To me, it looked like an HBO film.
Yeah.
But let me ask you this.
Because I watched the Hurt Locker after it won.
Good flick.
Was that a political move?
Versus, was that the best picture of the year?
I think it was more of a career.
It was more of a political day.
Once, Streisand walked out.
I knew who won.
There was no other winner, but Catherine Piglet
for Best Director, which at that point,
you knew it was then going to win best picture.
I did not enjoy Thunder Smurfs the 45 second,
the 45 minutes I sat through it and fell asleep.
But I just don't know if the Hurt Locker
really was the best picture that year.
Now, like Slumdog Millionaire,
I got that feel when I was watching it.
Oh yeah.
This is a great film.
Yeah, I was at the opening press screening.
Danny Boyle was in town.
And he was so great.
And he was so cool.
Because, well, I didn't know what the heck it was.
And they played it in 10 theaters.
He went to all 10 of those theaters
and introduced the movie himself.
Wow.
And afterwards, he stood around for probably two hours
at the Angelica.
Sign an autograph.
Nice guy.
So many people brought up, you know, like train spotting.
And he was just signing everything.
Anything somebody brought up, he signed.
Wow.
Totally.
Classic.
Classic.
What are your thoughts?
Other thoughts on Argo?
My thoughts of you basically said a lot of it.
I was on the edge of my seat, even though you knew.
And those that once seen, I'm just going to say
with the airplane, which you know I'm talking about.
The climates.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You felt like, whoa.
It was so real life.
And you're so into it.
And I want to say, I think since now there's 10 nominations,
it will get the best picture not.
I don't know.
There's 10 of them now.
Five, no.
10.
I don't know that.
Yes.
I don't know that.
Yes.
I hope it does.
Because I really, that's like has really found his nation directing.
Right now from a good directing standpoint,
he could be one of Hollywood's golden boys.
What nine other movies are going to beat that out?
See, I haven't seen enough movies this year.
And I think I know where you're going here.
We're now getting into that time of year,
where studios are holding back their movies,
because they want them to be fresh in the minds of the numbing.
I understand.
I'm like Lincoln and stuff like that.
They're doing at the end of November and stuff.
But I will say that with 10,
this is one of the better ones of the year.
I just agree with 10 as well.
Well, this is, this is the time of year where they put out the long shots.
A few years ago, remember the Spike Lee World War II film he did.
It was one miracle.
It's sand.
Whatever.
It was one of these ones that they were saying,
oh, Spike Lee's best film abroad.
But by the time December rolled around,
it wasn't anywhere.
Yeah.
But the real world of mouth,
I don't think there's going to be nine other films that will outbeat it.
I think it'll get nomination.
Well, when?
No.
Is it worth seeing?
Yes.
Great.
It is very worth seeing.
Very much enjoyed it.
You know, and, you know, a lot of people,
the excess on the interview,
it didn't affect last night.
And, you know, they're saying the same thing that you're saying.
You felt like you were so there.
And what was really neat is,
is sit through it.
Because during the end credits,
they show you the actors
and the passports of the people they portrayed side by side.
Wow.
And it's really, really, really, I mean,
it's uncanny.
And it seems from the film.
It's a great job.
And they show the real footage.
You know, like when they're putting these shredded documents back together.
And I thought that was really cool too,
that he intercuts,
like actual footage of the riots
in the beginning with the footage heat shot.
So he intercut news footage from 1979
with the stuff that was shot for the movie.
And one thing about that so weird is
Aflac said jokingly that
they filmed that in Turkey.
And he was saying how they can get
at such a hard time trying to get, you know,
people of Middle Eastern descent to be in the movie.
Because people are so scared to be in that movie
because of what it's about.
Right.
You're gonna come in your movie.
You're gonna come in your movie.
You're gonna come in your movie.
You know, but the people there was one of the biggest things
was trying to get enough people for that scene.
But when you're watching at the beginning of the movie
when they're taking over the,
or they're about to break in,
this feels like a riot and you feel scared
and you're like,
you know, you know what it's they're gonna break in.
You're feeling like this is intense
and you can understand the emotion and stuff.
So we're saying all three of us go see it.
Oh yeah.
Go pay, pay full price.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's definitely a full price.
Yeah.
So it's not,
you're not committing for half of a day.
But great film.
And good job by everybody involved.
Affleck.
He's, he was the bomb in Phantom Joe.
Now let's do a Viacondias.
All right.
On together.
Alex Carus.
Alexander George Carus born July 15th, 1935,
passed away on Wednesday.
He was nicknamed the Mad Duck.
Played in the NFL from 1958 to 1962
and then 1964 to 1970.
Does anybody know why there's a gap there?
He was suspended for a year for gambling on football games.
Made his, his breakthrough performance,
1970,
blazing saddles those 1974.
Mongo like candy.
Yeah.
You can't park your horse there.
And then he was also
George Papadopoulos on Webster.
So that's why I was kind of surprised
as one of the movie news,
because to me he's more of a TV news.
He was really married to her?
Yes.
Did not know that.
Yeah.
Because remember, she was,
what was her name,
Cherry Forever and Porquies?
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
His, his, his father was a Greek immigrant
who graduated from the University of Chicago
and got his medical degree in Canada.
His mother from Canada.
His older brother, Lou,
was played for the red skins.
And his older brother, Ted,
bears in the lions.
Good night.
He played at Purdue
and then transferred to Indiana.
Uh, let's see.
And then Keras himself
went to the University of Iowa
because his brother went to Indiana.
One of my favorite quotes from him,
I think he was at some school dance
and he was dancing with some girlie
kind of got forced into dance with these.
You know, for a fetch,
you don't sweat much.
He was drafted in the first round
by the Detroit Lions in 1958,
played for 12 seasons.
Uh, played next to Roger Brown
when they were very, uh,
very formidable until
Brown was traded to the Los Angeles Rams.
While he was with the Lions,
they were five,
they were over 506 of those 13 years
that only made the playoffs once.
He also spent some time
in the CFL,
also went to pro wrestling
as Dick the Bruiser.
Oh my.
But then, uh,
and that was during
when he was, uh,
suspended from the NFL.
I mean, what else do you say about the guy?
Was he did three years
on Monday Night Football
as an analyst?
Yeah.
This would kind of hurt
when I saw the other day.
To me, he'll always be a Webster's dad.
Yeah.
To me, he's always a mongo.
Always.
The first thing I think of his Webster's dad.
The second thing I think of,
I guess, would be
Porky's corrupt share of brother
and the Porky's future.
Yeah, that's true.
Wow.
But I think of mongo,
pretty much dead last because,
you know,
and I don't know why
because, you know,
I think that he cracked me up in.
Yeah.
But until he mentioned,
I'm like, oh yeah,
that's right.
He wasn't that.
What happened there?
Thank you, Sarah.
Remix.
So, by account of DSC you, sir,
you will be greatly missed.
Now let's pick the pace back up a little bit
because we are running way behind.
Oops.
Like we're on a time schedule.
Well, we kind of all.
We have so long.
It comes out this,
earlier this week,
amazing Spider-Man 2.
Mary Jane Watson and Harry Osborne
are both scheduled,
currently in talks.
To play MJ is a Shailene Woodley,
who you will know from tonight's HBO Saturday Night Premiere.
Oh, the descendants.
She's done 106.
Cut the secret life of the American Teenagers
had 106 episodes.
Dear Lord.
By the way, this is the last season for that show.
Well, she's out of being a teenager.
Yeah, pretty much.
Didn't episode of Cold Case.
Didn't episode of CSI New York.
Didn't episode of My Name is Earl.
Well, let's see.
Jack and Bobby.
She did...
Oh, she was the younger version
of Jill Hennessy on Crossing Jordan.
She did 6 episodes of the OC.
Did 3 episodes of the District.
Very, also a very underrated show.
Very much enjoyed that show.
Didn't episode of Without a Trace.
Didn't episode of Everybody Loves Raymond.
Pretty girl.
I don't know if I see her as MJ.
But stranger things have happened.
Also rumors of the Avalon to be Electro.
Thoughts on that.
Well, he's been kind of overlooked.
But I kind of like how we're holding the goblin back.
Yeah, we kind of have to.
We kind of went real ahead of you.
Really?
Huh?
You really have to?
Because he was your first villain in the first franchise.
I don't think they want to go to the well.
Because they've got so many other people they can go to.
Others casting rumors.
We saw the very first trailer for...
Oh, Reverend Andrews joined us.
That's not...
Reverend Andrews join us is not.
He's just good evening, Jenson Rob.
Thank you, sir.
That wasn't anybody.
But the first trailer for The Loan Ranger hit this week.
Oh, yeah.
Thoughts of that.
What do you think?
I'm really looking forward to it.
I love Westerns.
My only concern is that apparently this is going to be...
Tonto telling the story.
Yeah.
Which I'm kind of...
Well, that would be...
It makes sense because he's Johnny Depp.
You know what I mean?
You're going to...
Johnny Depp's your star.
And Army Hammer.
I'm a fan of.
Yeah.
After the social network.
Yeah.
But didn't you, sir?
Didn't you...
I didn't you have a problem with him addressing it all black?
At one point.
Yeah.
I kind of don't.
I think it kind of works.
See to me, he's always been the hero in white.
But he is now being rumored to play Batman in the Justice League movie.
Coming out in 2015.
I'm kind of good with it.
I'm thinking they're pushing the Justice League film way too hard.
And see, here's...
And I'm with you on this and here's what I'm thinking.
What they haven't figured out yet is Marvel didn't write.
Give these other heroes the movies leading up to it.
You see, they're just thinking...
Justice League, make a lot of money.
You know, we're making a billion dollars.
And the other thing that scares me is if they're going this route with it.
Don't go super friends with it.
As much as I love the super friends.
Do not.
Given the way you've established especially Bruce.
Don't do this.
Yeah.
And it's going to depend on what they do with Cavalnex Summer with Man of Steel.
Yeah.
Well, I was talking to somebody the day about it.
And I was like, well, you know, they were like talking about how they needed to do, you know, all the movies first.
And I'm like, you know, not really.
I mean, we know who Superman is.
We know who Batman is.
We know who Wonder Woman is.
You have a recasting at all.
It just seems weird to me.
Yeah.
It's like the Collian Vance season of Duke's A Hazard.
Well, if they get Christian Bill to do Batman.
He won't do it.
He won't.
He won't do it without knowing.
Well, I'm just telling you.
If they put me in front of money, he'll do it.
I mean, I want him to.
Don't get me wrong.
Because I think if you carry him and Cavalne into it.
At least you're giving some credence to it at this point.
Because you're not going to do another Green Lantern.
And you're probably going to do John Stuart anyway.
Yeah.
Who I've heard is going to be common, which I'm completely in on.
Him and Romani Malco have both been rumored for years.
Good either way.
Diana's going to be the tough one.
Yeah.
Well, there's rumour that, you know, they're going to get him to do it.
There's some people saying, you know, he's opening the doors a little bit to do it.
If I'm him, I'm like, I need a script first.
I'm not committing to Jack until I see a script.
And if that script isn't consistent with the way I've done the character.
Then it's not going to work.
Yeah.
Just saying.
The screenwriter of Taken 2 says Taken 3 is in the works.
Why?
But the quote I read was, we've run out of people to take.
We have to go with it.
But I've heard good things about Taken 2.
No.
I've heard nothing but bad.
Really?
All I've heard is that's why I'm going to wait for it in Cavalne.
Because I love the first one so much.
The first one was great.
This one is no.
You know, it's not.
I would not recommend it.
Yeah, that.
And they left it open for a third.
I told them they left it open for a third.
21% unrotten to me.
What does that tell you?
It's actually gone up.
It was a nine.
Yeah.
No, no, no.
Disney is going to be rebooting Condor, man.
Heck, yes.
No.
Heck, yes.
It's going to be so terrible.
Condor, man.
So terrible.
Do you realize?
Do you realize who that was?
Don't look.
Don't look.
No, I don't.
I must tell you.
No, I don't.
It was a wolf arrow.
What?
Was it?
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Wasn't it, um, I had to.
Oh crap.
It wasn't Kurt Russell, wasn't it?
No.
Don't look.
I don't know.
I've already told you.
I don't know.
Wow.
One.
Michael.
Oh my god.
The original fan of the opera was Condor, man.
He was a, he was a comic book writer who,
who's best friend worked for the CIA, I guess.
As a file clerk.
As a file clerk.
Yes.
And they were trying to get this Russian female, uh, uh,
uh, double agent to defect to America.
So they were basically like doing like their own little James Bondy and type thing.
And so he made his combat book creation Condor, man.
His cover.
It's terrible.
I thought it was fun.
But I was like, what?
11, what is it?
1981.
Yeah.
I think I was, it was, though, it was cheesy as I only want to know.
I didn't want to know.
Just move on.
But if they want to do a better version of this, I'm in.
Well, they're also really, really low.
Yeah.
They're also rumoring and rocketeer again.
I said, I didn't like rocketeer.
You didn't like rocketeer?
Jennifer Connolly.
Yes.
Always in.
Back Condor, man.
Bring back rocketeer.
Bring back the black, make a better version of the black hole.
Oh, good.
By the way, when out of the cute Disney characters.
Yeah.
It will be a smart move.
Yeah.
And without that ending.
I remember why I bought that when it came out on DVD.
And I got it home and I was like, I got to the end.
And I was like, yeah, that wasn't really crappy ending.
I don't remember the ending being.
It's crappy.
I was digging through some stuff the other day.
I have the original press book for the black hole.
Oh, my God.
You're making me drool.
I used to have the book in record of it.
So did I.
The actual press book together.
Better save their soul.
Yeah.
I found it.
And I have the original Superman press book.
I've got that somewhere too.
Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait.
And it was something else I found.
It was some old movie like that.
Paranormal Activity 4.
We'll get an IMAX release in 300 theaters.
How would you put a movie shot on video on IMAX?
Because you can.
To chain money.
Money, money, money.
It's going to look awful.
It's going to look awful.
Clash of the Titans in 3D.
Oh, yeah.
Paranormal Activity is known for its cinematography
and how much of a wonderful movie.
But I mean, you put a film up on IMAX to blow it up
and make it larger than life.
And it's going to look like we're watching a YouTube video.
In grainy night vision.
Oh, yeah, put that on your IMAX screen.
Well, the thing is, oh, okay, I'll be honest.
They're showing it to press before it opens.
But we have some of this in pre-show.
They're staying guys.
They didn't do it.
But they didn't do two and three and four.
Two and three.
Two and three.
They didn't do them.
They didn't press.
Yeah, I'm a fan of the franchise.
I just don't see the logic of putting this on.
I hate those bouncy camera movies.
It's just, they make me ill.
And I just, Andrew says two hours of cat videos
on IMAX would be better.
Play a set of key words.
I can as IMAX.
Or, no, I'm going to say it.
Shut up.
Just shut up.
Fans of Gears of War.
And I am one.
That movie is back online at New Line.
They said it's their priority once they get the Hobbit done.
Oh, man.
But the Hobbit kind of took over that entire studio there
for a minute.
Yep.
So that, we referenced this next story earlier in the show.
We're going to talk about it a little bit right now.
What?
It's a Hobbit's going to be three films.
Oh, yeah.
And I disagree with that.
No, it's going to be a trilogy.
It's going to be a trilogy.
It was supposed to be two.
Oh, now it's going to be a trilogy.
Yeah.
Because we don't have enough money to change it.
Just keep your checks.
I have no issues with this.
Just keep your checks and make your things more complicated.
You make King Kong.
There's a group called Stanley Media Incorporated.
This is a group that let us say up front Stanley is not a part
of anymore.
He sold his shares in the company.
They are suing Disney for $5.5 billion.
Saying that Disney does not have the rights to his properties
like the Avengers, the Fantastic Four,
the X-Men Spider-Man's Ever at Columbia.
But they're saying that he sold them the rights to those
characters to this Stanley Media Incorporation.
Oh, by the way, which went under after the .com boom crashed.
This is one convoluted story.
Yeah.
That they were saying that he sold it to them in 1998.
Disney saying no.
Once you went under, that agreement is now no one void.
And they're saying no.
We got the agreement renewed in 2002.
So now this is in the courts.
Oh, jeez.
And do you think Disney is going 5.5 billion?
Got that on me.
That falls out of our-
Yeah, they'll pay it off me.
That falls out of our back pocket on the golf course.
I'm going to give you five bucks and a coupon for a free meal
at Planet Hollywood.
That's what you're going to get.
We're Disney.
Did we mention that?
Or how is it that Android Apple lawsuit wound up?
They paid off their lawsuit in Nichols.
Yeah, they said 18 trucks full of Nichols over to the Apple
at Samsung did.
Here's your payment.
Canada.
But this is just a weird-
I'm going to be monitoring this story because this is really weird
because if Stanley truly did sign the rights to those characters
over to this other company, first of all,
shouldn't Marvel have gotten involved at some point?
You would think.
Yeah.
And to what is the true legality of this agreement?
Because Marvel would have probably been able to say,
hey, here's the thing about this Disney that you're fixing the bias.
This didn't come up?
Yeah.
You would think that all this would have been ironed out years ago.
The closing song for the Hobbit that we mentioned earlier
will be done by Neil Finn from Crowded House in.
In.
Yeah, I love Crowded House.
Don't dream it's over.
Great song.
Great song.
Something so strong.
Great song.
I like the other day.
Hey, now don't dream.
I think this person.
Good move.
Kind of about this not going to be any Linux again.
Kind of sort of biocon deals to the marriage of Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman.
Talk about out of left field.
Yeah.
I mean, literally it was just a passing mentioner.
But he went, whoa, whoa, whoa.
I was listening to the radio the other day.
There we go.
Like 30 years.
Man on the set of taxing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Was he thinking he's going to upgrade?
Maybe he's having something on the side of the subject on Sunday.
He heard about Taylor Swift.
Oh, wow.
And I'm telling you, if you don't watch,
it's always sunny and Philadelphia.
That show is getting darker.
It's you.
You don't think that show can get darker and then it does.
I don't.
And it comes on right before the league, which again, one of the funny shows on television.
The Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters, which has been actually been moved to January 25th.
The story I did not say when the original release date was.
That's kind of scary.
Usually the January is done.
Now has it been pushed back or pushed up?
It's been pushed back.
It was supposed to open around Thanksgiving.
Okay.
So yeah, as we talk about in this show, I think where I know where you're going here.
January, February is the dumping ground.
Yeah.
Well, January is the dumping ground.
January and it used to be August.
But late August can be.
But not early.
Yeah.
But but lately they've been.
There's a lot of films in August that been kicking butt like last year.
Plenty of the apes didn't really, really well in August.
You know, a movie I think scared them.
Guardians.
That's going to I can't wait for that movie.
I saw another trailer for it last night.
Megan knew nothing about it.
Are you kidding me?
Yeah.
She had no clue.
And she's like, once she heard Hugh Jackman's voice come out of.
The Easter Bunny.
Oh, yeah.
She's like, whoa.
Okay.
Alex Baldwin playing Santa.
Yeah.
And you don't even recognize it.
I'm talking.
And Jude Law is the is the villain in this.
I don't know who's playing.
Who's playing Jack Frost?
Sounds like it is a relatively young sounding guy.
I can broke it up for you.
I have the internet.
And I think Sandman even speaks.
I would say that the two theory is the.
The easel of Fisher or I love fish.
I have a heck of a say your name.
I love Fisher.
Sir.
This is Sasha Baron Cohen.
Yeah.
Allegedly Chris Pine is playing Jack Frost.
Alex Baldwin's playing Santa.
Hugh Jackman is playing the Easter Bunny.
I love Fisher is playing the tooth fairy.
Jude Law is playing pitch.
I believe it's a bad guy.
category for animated films. It's like, what are they doing? I mean, they're going to have like only two films and now it's like every other movie. Yeah, there's so many
and the technologies come so far that they're just cranking these things out now. I mean, we're averaging like what two a month now. Well, now they're saying there's going to be a
peanuts film coming out on the 60th or 70th anniversary of the original release of peanuts. There's a new Charlie Brown will be coming out in 2015, isn't it? Which is the anniversary traditional or CG? They're saying it's going to be it's going to be regular hand on the on the anniversary of the very first. Oh, my God. And it's written by Charles Sultzson scary movie five and the new remake of evil dead now will open the same day April 12th.
I'm going. I didn't see scary movie after the first one. And I don't know if I want to see a remake of people. No, when I see these way and brothers involved in out. And then there's this.
Not first of all, let me say we're not remaking Rocky. So everybody get your blood pressure down.
Oh, so Vester Stallone is going to play a boxer again in a movie called Grudge match, which you're like, okay, Stallone with the steroids. He's kind of stayed in good shape. Here's who else is going to be a boxer in this movie.
Little bit, a little bit. I'm going to come in. I'm going to box a little bit. I'm going to come around. I'm going to box. Well, that's not like he hasn't done it before either. Yeah. Yeah, but how long has it been since raging bull for Robert De Niro, who's 147 years old.
Well, the brothers in his early millions on these guys like 30 years late on this movie. I just don't. It's like I don't care. Well, they just have Bruce Willis play Justin Bieber and them, you know, concert movie.
Justin Bieber in looper two.
I would pay to see that what parallel universe are you living in. I mean, the Niro and Stallone and literally the entire concept of the movie.
A pair of aging boxing rivals are coaxed out of retirement to fight one final bout.
Well, I got the aging. You know who's directing this thing? No, Peter Berg is directing this. So he's going to do the great white hype again.
The old white hype movie new releases in your local movie house next Friday. We start with
We are legion the history of HACTIVists. I am interested in this. It is a documentary about people like anonymous. I'm in. I'm in.
Bains of society. We talked about this in pre-show Alex Cross starring Tyler Perry. This is not a Tyler Perry movie.
Medea goes to the homicide squad, but I'm in. I am too. I want to see this. I think the screenings Tuesday.
Let me know how that works out. Okay. It's a Monday or Tuesday. I don't remember. I'm kind of intrigued myself.
A paranormal activity for we've covered that and a movie called Holy Motors.
Anybody know anything about this? Never heard of this actually comes out Wednesday.
Wednesday. Yeah, it's a Wednesday release. That's not odd.
Wednesday releases are fairly common. Is the Zeppelin concert films coming out Wednesday? Right.
And it's only going to be like two showing.
So what's the bits on this from dawn to dusk and a few hours in the life of Monsieur Oscar, a shadowy character who journeys from one life to the next. He in turn.
He is in turn captain of industry assassin beggar monster and family man.
Even Mendes Kylie Minogue Dennis Levant is the main character.
Those are the edits of I guess this is going to be one of those foreign films, but it looks interesting. It just does.
Takes place in France. One of those foreign away are from France.
It's one of the foreign films. You know, I don't know about the movie. If I got to read the movies, just a look at that.
I'm just saying. It's like I just scanning with my computer and it comes alive.
Like I do with it. I am insane.
But I'm interested. This is this is not something I would go to the Angelica to see, but if it comes on like IFC, I would check it out.
DVD and Blu-ray new release is this coming week.
The Obama's America 2016, which is not a pro Obama film. I'm just letting you know before you rent it.
It is incredibly anti Obama. Matt Agascar, three Europe's most wanted.
Season five of Mad Men.
And then there's this. Oh dear God.
The Blu-ray release of Blooney Tunes Platinum collection volume two.
I am there. You have all you want, sir.
I do indeed. You own it.
And it is a masterful piece of Blu-ray marketing.
And I like the way, and I don't know if you've seen this Gary, but the way they're doing it to Blu-ray is they're actually theming the discs.
They're not just putting a bunch of shorts on one disc.
So one disc is just like all Tasmanian devil. One disc is all road runner.
Oh, that's cool. Completely in on.
Yeah, like they have like the complete Marvin the Martian, the complete like he said Tasmanian devil.
Well, there's only a couple of Marvin the Martians.
That's why they're able to shove them all on there.
It's really kind of strange. Like you feel like there was more than that.
There's only two. I think Marvin. No, there's more than that.
There's like four or five.
And that's if you don't include all the Duck Dodger stuff.
And they did.
Oh, the Duck Dodger stuff is always yes.
I'm talking about the series, not the short.
Oh, okay, no.
Remember, they did a whole series for Duck Dodgers.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no.
We're staying completely away from anything done in the last 20 years.
The Adam Sandler debacle known as that's my boy.
Oh, there you go.
Oh, yeah, classic move.
The 35th anniversary, a special edition of Pete's Dragon.
Great movie, loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it.
Chernobyl Diaries and some WWE releases.
WWE United Champions 2012.
And we have superstar collections for Shawn Michaels and Ray Mysterio.
So there's only three in one week.
Yeah, there's only three.
It's just slowing down.
They're slacking off.
Yeah.
I will be excited about Madagascar 3.
I really like Madagascar 3.
I don't even know if I saw this.
I didn't see the second one.
I didn't see the second one.
I haven't seen the last two.
I say just.
Yeah.
Let us move on.
You are the club house.
We are your one stop shop for all things sports and pop culture.
We're going to run really long tonight.
I'm letting you know now.
We're going on campus.
First of all, we have a via another via Condeos.
As Bino Cook died yesterday, or day before.
They're saying it was yesterday.
It was day before.
No, it was yesterday because I was watching on the SP and I was eating lunch.
For those of you who don't know who Bino Cook is, this,
if you don't know anything about college football, this guy does.
He was one of seven.
I was given a nickname at the age of seven from a neighbor in Pittsburgh because he had just moved there from Boston.
They called him Bino because of being town.
Graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1954, sort of two years in the Army.
He was a sports publicist for the University of Pittsburgh from 1956 to 1966.
Worked for my beloved dolphins for his season.
He joined ESPN in 1986.
He has been one of their seminal college football guys for almost 30 years.
What I love, somebody wants to ask someone whose favorite musical group was and he said Ohio State.
This guy is college football.
Always quick.
I've once the commissioner of Bowie Koon was a commissioner of baseball.
He offered the returning hostages from the Iran hostage crisis lifetime passes to major league baseball games.
His answer was, haven't they suffered enough?
He is, he started a blog in 2010.
This, this, he was the guy.
And real name, Carol Hoff Cook, born September 1st, 1931 in San Francisco, California.
Got a bachelor's of arts from the University of Pittsburgh in 1954.
He will be sorely sorely missed.
College football, of course, today is the big day.
The Red River shootout.
I don't care what they call it now.
I will still call it the shootout.
The University of Texas versus Oklahoma University.
And what can only be called a butt kicking?
Yeah.
I mean, that was...
A trip to the woodshed.
Yeah.
That this, this was a residency in the woodshed today.
I mean, you talk about getting taken out back and beaten with a stick.
And Gary's a huge Texas fan.
63 to 21 is your final.
Yeah, yeah.
And the only, I mean, it was, it was over by halftime.
Oh, yeah.
I got, I got a question since it was such a shalacking will.
What do you think Texas will be ranked on tomorrow?
You're talking about 15 versus 13.
I think Texas may fall on the top 20.
To take that kind of a shalacking and when you have 20,
when you have 19 of your 21 points in the second half,
and you score two in the first quarter,
I mean, this thing, Oklahoma hung almost 600 yards on this.
Was that all?
And the fact that, I mean, they had to have put their scrubs
in to get the two touchdowns.
Oklahoma had to have, I mean, they shut down Texas.
This thing wasn't even close.
This was ridiculous.
And, you know, Texas coming off the lost to Western Virginia,
then losing to Oklahoma.
This could cause a tailspin.
Oklahoma, they're good.
I don't think anybody can beat Alabama right now.
But they're a good team and they're winning games quietly,
which as a fan of college football, you should be concerned.
When a team wins games and nobody talks about it, it's not good.
And I'll tell you what, for the first time since I can remember,
game day was not at the state fair today.
They were in South Bend in the end today.
Because I looked at them, I'm like, where's game day going to be?
Because they didn't talk about it at all on PTIS today.
And so I looked at them, I was like, oh my god,
they're not going to be at the state fair.
I don't remember a time where they weren't at the state fair for this game.
Yeah.
And they weren't, they were in South Bend for a nerd named Stanford,
which we'll talk about here in a minute.
Let's go to the scoreboard.
Louisville beats Pittsburgh today by 10th.
Iowa has to take Michigan State into double overtime,
the win 19 to 16.
Northwestern wins again as they beat Minnesota.
Rutgers wins over Syracuse.
Kansas State over Iowa State.
Army loses to Kansas State today.
Ole Miss, Auburn, what's going on?
What is going on in Alabama?
Ole Miss beats them 41 to 20.
Auburn has got to get the wheels on this thing.
Big time.
Houston over UAB today.
Good job.
Good SMU loses to two lane by a point.
The hurricanes lose again.
I don't know what to say.
As North Carolina beats them 18 to 14.
Ball State has to go into overtime.
As they beat Western Michigan 30 to 24.
UCLA wins by a touchdown today.
Oklahoma State over Kansas 20 to 14.
Alabama beats Mizzou 42 to 10.
Mizzou has struggled so horribly since joining the SEC.
He just has to surprise you on that.
One of my vendors, a good friend of mine.
Jenny King, your boys got to get it rolling.
And it's going to be weird to see them close the season
against A&M and A&M on playing Texas.
That's still going to be weird for me.
Stanford Notre Dame wins in overtime.
20 to 13.
So that's 7 over 17.
Notre Dame could be for real.
I'm going to say it.
The first BCS rankings come out tomorrow night.
So be prepared for that.
Michigan blanks Illinois by 45.
Boise State beats Fresno State 20 to 10.
Oregon State over BYU 42 to 24.
Texas Tech upsets West Virginia 49 to 14.
Oh my god.
Gino Smith shut down.
I need to look at the box score on that.
That kid had like 9,000 yards passing in the last two weeks.
Utah State wins big over San Jose State 49 to 27.
Florida State over Boston College 51 to 7.
Florida beats Vanderbilt 31 to 17.
Go Gators as we get ready for South Carolina next week.
Gino Smith 29 to 55 to 76 in a touchdown.
Tech put up 676 yards of total offense today.
Seth Doge does 34 to 42, 499 to 6 touchdowns in a pick.
Well, if you ever know, did you actually game last week?
Um, and two weeks ago when they played Baylor.
They have an incredible offense.
They don't have a defense.
Oh, yeah, because the overrunner of that game was a bullet.
But I mean, they don't have it.
I mean, they got 60 points scored against.
Yeah.
Are Mikey's beloved Arkansas State beats South Alabama 36 to 29.
USC, we'll go to the games that are going on right now.
Texas State is beating Idaho 31 to 7 about midway through the fourth.
USC up on Washington 24 14 with three minutes to go in that one.
Cincinnati beats Fordham today 49 to 17.
Arkansas way up on Kentucky 49 to nothing in the third.
Arkansas needs to get the wheels on the thing too.
Air Force beats Wyoming by a point today.
Baylor down to TCU 49 to 21 with two and a half minutes left to go in that one.
Third quarter in Orlando as UCF leads Southern Miss 17 to seven.
Ula la at home leading Florida Atlantic 28 to seven in the third.
Ohio State only up on Indiana by a touchdown as the second half gets underway there.
LSU.
We thought we said this earlier today, Chad.
South Carolina LSU will be the prime time game to watch.
It is the game on ESPN right now.
Third quarter halfway through LSU only leads by a field goal.
It is 10 to seven.
South Carolina.
So my beloved Gators have next.
A&M up on Louisiana Tech 21 to nothing right now.
Mississippi State leads Tennessee 20 to 14 in the second quarter.
Later tonight, you will have Cal at Washington State and New Mexico at Hawaii.
So Hawaii at home.
So you want to put some skins on the wall?
Beat Hawaii at home.
You can beat them on the road all day long.
Try to beat them at home.
Thursday night.
Anybody.
Navy wins on Friday night 31 to 13.
Remember, BCS rankings come out tomorrow.
And you said, and Reverend Andrew says Washington just fumbled with two minutes left.
So USC could have that one locked up at a tight one.
Let's combine sports and entertainment as we get into wrestling talk.
No, he really doesn't.
Cuckoo.
Cuckoo.
Cuckoo.
Sunday gets out of rehab then gets arrested again for three counts of burglary and violating a restraining order trying to get back into her boyfriend's house.
She's now being held on $100,000 bail.
And that is cash.
You cannot.
You cannot pay the one percent.
You got to pay the whole thing.
No, no, you hear what happened.
You know, they she had the three arrests that one week.
Take some time off.
I try to get a little bit better.
The guy comes home and finds her passed out after she broke into his apartment.
He comes home.
She's passed out drunk on his four.
At any point did she say the words?
You're not the best in me.
So then he rests her for violation of protective order.
Then he gets out and this will happen the week of September 11th.
No, no, this is this week.
Oh, oh, wow.
Yeah, because she took that month off was those those two to not learn from history are doing the repeated.
Yeah.
So he comes home.
There she is.
She broke into his apartment.
She's passed out drunk on her on the guy on his four.
So then she goes to jail and she gets out the next morning on the 25,000.
What does the bill bondsman do?
That's her off on the same street where she got a rest at the guy's place again.
Does that make sense?
Who's he's got to make money too?
So then, you know, she gets arrested again because the neighbor calls this time.
Now the neighbors are calling.
You know, she's back.
So they rest her again.
Now it's $100,000, you know.
Roars for WrestleMania 29 could be Undertaker versus CM Punk if they decide to put the belt on rock going into WrestleMania for rock versus Cena 2.
Which I kind of like the angle though.
I have to end the streak so I can earn respect once and for all.
I kind of like where they're going with that.
Well, there was another rumor too, though, is that they want to keep Rybeck undefeated than to be the undefeated versus the undefeated at WrestleMania Rybeck versus Taker.
Oh God, no.
Geez.
Yeah, I'm just telling you, that's similar.
Apparently, a lot of problems in Created have a lot of people leaving and being replaced this week.
But a lot of heat right now is on Stephanie McMahon for what is going on with Created.
And I can't say that that's not justified.
Yeah, well deserved.
You want the credit?
You got to take the heat, too.
I mean, the debate last week and then Larry Key.
And Triple H, she and Triple H are trying to get this thing turned around.
They're doing a lousy job.
Well, you know what they have to do.
They'll get rid of the...
Let's talk about rock.
Alright.
Try to put a pause.
So now I've decided that Cena is now the comedian that opens for Pink Floyd.
I don't know if you know that reference.
It's an old friend's episode where they talk about kissing and how they reference kissing as the...
The comedian before Pink Floyd comes on.
And then girls after Pink Floyd, they want the comedian to come back out.
And all we want to do is drive home.
But that's all Cena does now.
He comes out in the beginning of the show and...
Hey, this is what we're doing.
I'm talking.
Let me get laughing.
I'm having fun.
Hey!
And now it's wrestling.
Don't care.
Don't care.
And what she's saying that he's going to be healed for hell on the cell.
But doctors are going...
No, you're not.
You saw the arm when he tried to...
That joint was a punk back in the ring.
Well, because he's got those things on his arm and those things are keeping the elbow in place.
I know, but still...
You want to be in the hell in the cell match in what, two and a half weeks or two?
No, no, no.
12, two weeks.
Well, you know, punk and Ryback are working house shows and headlining this weekend because they're trying to see if that's what they're going to do.
What's Cena?
What's Cena?
What's Cena?
He's just...
Don't even...
Well, there's time I'm making him the guest referee.
I know, but if he gets in the title match, he'll be born or row or Cena's in the beginning of the block.
That's...
Drop it.
And the prime time players are getting buried again because of his tight teeth.
They're just...
Why put these guys together if you're not going to do anything?
They're not interesting.
But they're not given the chance to be either because they keep getting buried in the mid-card.
Well, they had all the shots and they never given the titles.
They should give them the...
And you ever notice, like, when they show...
Like, when they're showing who's going to wrestle on the show,
and they had the graphic and they have all the little Twitter in the Facebook.
Vince had none of that.
It was just...
Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman.
Geez.
As much as you're getting into social media,
you can't give the guy a Twitter handle that somebody else can handle.
Or as Vince just afraid of the flood of tweets that are going to be thrown at him on a daily basis.
Yeah, it's funny.
Paralyzed.
Paralyzed with fear.
I just thought it was funny.
And Chad, you did watch the show, right?
Yeah.
So you've got to the Larry King segment.
Yes.
How...
He's been married to what?
Nine times now?
Yeah.
And I guess when you've been married that many times,
did you notice...
I'm here with my wife.
Look at the...
Look at the dope card.
Sean!
I was like, really, Larry?
I was one of my favorite Letterman jokes.
I was...
Was that a bit...
But I mean, he literally paused and looked at the card.
And I was like, oh my god, did that happen?
I think it was probably...
Well, one of my favorite Letterman jokes was going to sum it up on how they name hurricanes,
how it's all in order,
and that one year that we've gotten down to the end of the alphabet.
Yeah.
So then they go to the Greek alphabet.
He goes, and after that, we go to Larry Kingwise.
So...
But I mean, it was like...
We couldn't have had some kind of a teleprompter.
Like, you literally saw him reading the entire script for his segment.
Even when he was talking to the Miz, he was reading the note cards.
I was like, somebody greenlit this crap.
Well, the problem is he probably reads teleprompters the whole show.
So used to reading, you know, I mean...
I'll just make it look organic.
WWE.
You're not organic.
We're created in a lab.
Just crap to my pants, hello.
I just wow this guy.
And I decided though,
because as I was watching this, I wrote,
just when you think things couldn't get any worse.
But I decided I have a new slogan.
And WDF please feel free to use this.
I'm going to give you permission right here on the air,
but I do want a brother with some stuff.
WWE creative, because the bar can never be set too low.
That's their new slogan.
We're at all circles of the drain again.
Like, that sound you probably heard at about 1030 as I was watching it
was me banging my head on my coffee table.
Because this segment was...
I actually know, because that would have been about 1230,
because we went to Saargo and then I came home and watched Raw.
This segment was so bad.
Like, this was just so bad.
And Larry King already looks like a Mary Annette as it...
I find him creepy.
Yeah.
I hate it when they have those pictures of him where the camera is slightly above him.
And he's just...
He's holding his elbows and he's kind of hunched forward.
And he's just got that creepy, creep, creep, creeper grin on his face.
Andrew says because the bottom of the barrel was too clean.
Hello.
Hello, kitties.
Wala, wala, wala, Washington.
Hello.
Like, the crypt could be deeper.
And I like to...
You know, on the show, as we know, I like to help Michael Cole.
Because I've taken Michael Cole as a project and I want to help him get better.
Why?
Because I want to let him know that Analyzation is not a word.
He actually used the word Analyz.
At least he did a soft A and not a long A.
Because then it would have been something completely different.
Yeah.
But, which is what that show is turning into.
Don't get me wrong.
But, I just...
He's had the word Analyzation.
And I was like...
I rewronged it.
I'm like that.
Just...
Here, that.
I think I looked at...
I think I looked at Jules and said, yeah, that's...
That's kind of real work.
And I never thought I'd see the day where I felt bad for JBL.
I feel bad for JBL.
I just do.
Looks like the thumb at the finger party.
Like, I don't know why I'm here.
And he kept going, were you going to climb a mountain somewhere?
Cold shut up.
Let it go.
Yeah.
The work correspondent that he is.
And as we saw, and we heard about after the show,
Punk gives an elbow to a fan on live television.
And I knew it would happen because I saw it on the torch app.
And so I watched for it and it was there.
What had happened was a fan had punched him in a kidney from behind.
But it wasn't a fan he elbowed.
Because he wouldn't hit behind that.
Right.
Well, then it was, you know, we understand these things happen.
The guy was hurt a little bit.
And now the guy is talking about suing.
And it's like, hold on.
You've already said publicly you're not pressing charges.
You told the cops you didn't want to press charges.
So now this is on you, Homer.
But it's still, if you press charges or not,
you sell the wrong life right to soon.
You'll win.
Now, how much is a big question?
Yeah.
But, you know, hey, I want free WrestleMania tickets front row
for them for the next five WrestleMania.
And then so go.
Okay.
That cost me about two grand.
Here you go.
Yeah, there you go.
I'll do it.
I'll even fly the jet out frame.
Feel saucy.
Yeah.
Does it will come a day when I'll require a favor from you.
And I was watching over and over and that guy, you know,
catch the hidden bikinis and he did that push on the back of the head.
And here's the guy going with glasses and what gets elbowed.
And see, this is different from the Alberto Del Rio situation.
We're going to talk about here in a minute when we talk about Smackdown.
This thing I get, the Alberto Del Rio thing is just that that's just stupid.
It makes me want to punch something.
I'll care for you if I get sued.
Well, that's my house.
I can punch a thing I want.
Let's talk a little bit of impact.
Bound for glory is tomorrow.
Their biggest pay-per-view of the year.
If you live in Tyler, you can watch it at a movie theater.
So there's that.
We found out that the guy behind the Hogan sex tape that's being shopped around.
The guy filming it was Bubba the Love Sponge.
And the guy that Hogan was doing the, with, was Bubba's ex-wife.
And Bubba was cool with it.
Because he's so used to glomming on to Hogan and he just figured why not.
But then we also found out that the person that leaked the tape,
because I didn't know Bubba the Love Sponge was gone from serious radio.
It was back on terrestrial radio.
When he left, he just got rid of a bunch of people and left them behind.
One of those people got a hold of this tape and they're the ones that leaked it to the internet.
And they're shopping it around.
And Hogan's got all kinds of spin control right now.
Apparently Velvet Sky, Doc will be very happy.
Velvet Sky's pictures have returned to the TNA wrestling website.
She is in ring and negotiations to return.
They'll put that belt on her in a week.
They should.
Because that division is so weak anyway.
Well, Madison's reign is ticked off that she's not even a belt for glory now.
Nope.
And we get to meet who see who Tara is Hollywood.
I find it.
I find it.
It's supposedly there's a talk of Madison taking on Bracolgan,
but they scratch that.
God, they'll put her in the ring.
But I will tell you this, this thing gets into the TNA Hall of Fame tonight.
Allegedly being inducted by Luger.
And I honestly believe this shuts the door on him working with Vincent anyway,
shape or form.
Yep.
Who?
Sting.
We have to stop those questions.
So, let's see.
Now, Don, you watch Impact.
Chad, I'm not even going to ask you.
I know better.
Do you ever look at Austin Aries logo and think Emerald Nuts?
I'm no Emerald Nuts.
It's a brand.
It's Emerald.
They have their own bowl game for college.
It looks just like the Emerald Nuts look.
I don't know what Emerald Nuts bowl go looks like.
Let's go look it up.
Okay.
Because that comedy bit died.
Moving on.
So, if they call Sting though.
The logo on Finley's trunks.
And they call.
That's enough.
No, that works.
That was probably more.
Shamest.
But, you know, be current.
Be current.
Be current.
Be current.
And what?
No, go ahead.
Because your joke went over so well.
I'm trying to recover here, people.
On Austin Aries, they're doing the same thing.
They're doing a punk down.
Yeah.
Why?
Austin Aries is a guy who just goes out there and fights.
Now, he's the...
I can't know where he's spent.
Well, I was watching the show.
No, I was watching the show.
I've noticed that they've never referred to Sting as the man they call Sting.
Convince Sue, if they do that.
But then they said it during his Hall of Fame video package.
So...
But then I've never heard him refer to him that way.
Because that's always in WWE.
Is the man they call Sting.
And God, that...
That video package was so great.
Because since they couldn't use any of the old footage.
Steve just brought them old pictures of him.
And just seeing him in the old face paint with the spiky blonde hair.
That was a man cry moment.
The hair that you'll never see again.
I can make my hair do that.
Just want to wake up in the morning.
Just saying.
And...
Did you notice that when Jeff came out, he was hugging all the kids with the face paint.
Can Ray Sue forgive making friends on that to say?
Well, that's the...
TNA for everything.
He'd copy everything now.
I mean, if they do steal everything from everybody else.
You know, say what you want about this next guy.
But you guys know me well enough on this show by now to know
that I will always give credit where credit to do.
I give credit to Batista.
He won his very first MMA fight last Saturday night.
Gave all of his prize money to a charity.
To a cancer charity.
Kudos to him, man.
MVP walked out with him.
He won in the third round of a stoppage.
He got to got his submit.
So...
Marista.
Congratulations to you, sir.
Marista.
He's been calling on that for years.
But it still not as good as what Santino calls him.
Batista.
Chris Jericho, at this point, will not be at WrestleMania.
The negotiations on his new contract have broken down.
He wants more freedom to pursue interests outside of the business.
Acting the music thing.
Put him on a Legends deal.
Put him in the Hall of Fame.
Get it over with.
It's my opinion.
Because...
What does Chris Jericho do for you as a product right now?
For the WWE?
Yeah.
What does he do for him?
It's a new guard.
I mean, I'm to the point now where...
I love Chris, but what does he do for the business right now?
Nothing.
And he's kind of him and Jericho are kind of in that same category.
For me.
Now, I did think it was interesting.
We talked about this at lunch.
Don, do you follow the rock on Facebook at all?
Not really.
No.
He had a picture up the other day of him working out.
Okay.
And of course, you know, he's bowed up every, every vein.
Yeah.
He's wearing a CM Punk t-shirt, which I thought was kind of weird.
Because if you're trying to sell this bit, sell the bit?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, this is my opponent, you know.
So, I want to read you the notes that I took.
The opening segment from SmackDown last night.
Am I missing anything?
Oh, by the way, Lawler will be back Tuesday night for the SmackDown taping in Memphis.
Awesome, this.
WWE is already advertising it.
Let's talk just a little bit about SmackDown.
So, the opening segment was a bit where Frenchy came out and she Amus came out.
And they had one of those little punching bag things that would do, like, register how hard you can.
And they wander was the Baroque kick versus what they call the KL Punch.
Why are we not calling that the WND anymore?
Did I miss anything?
I don't know.
But here's my notes.
So, they're doing this thing where you punch it and they give you the, you know,
because you guys have seen this in bars and stuff.
Yeah.
That's not the bit.
When did SmackDown become the state fair?
Oh, wait.
Yikes.
I thought it was followed by, oh, wait, nevermind.
It's been that way for years.
And you're wondering why Stephanie's getting heat from creative.
And it was just like, I feel so bad for Booker T.
Because he has to try to sell that.
And the debate last week.
And now this week.
And the punching bag.
Did he get a big prize?
Did he get a big stuffed teddy bear?
Now see, that would have been funny.
If Shamest had one waiting for him backstage,
he'd give him, like, a big stuffed Shamest all.
That would be funny.
Then I could redeem that segment.
I would be okay with that.
A stuffed beaker wearing a Broke Kick posse shirt.
He's Slater, Jinder Mahal, and Drew McIntyre are now called the band.
Yeah.
Because that's what we need.
Well, we have to do something to revive their career.
And this is going to do it?
What would you do with them?
OVW.
And that's not even their company anymore.
I'm just saying.
And Kofi, did you watch SmackDown?
Did you notice Kofi's trunks?
No, I didn't have to.
Purple trunks, yellow accents, the Braids Skeletor.
Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome.
And it's sad that that's what Kofi's been reduced to to me.
What kind of cool trunks is he going to wear?
Because outside of that, I don't care anymore.
Wow.
There was talk of turn, once they lost the tag belts, they were going to turn our truth heel.
But Vince likes the little Jimmy bit too much so he's keeping him face.
He likes this bit.
That's what I read.
Vince loves it too.
It sells to kids.
It sells to kids.
By having an agent.
EG rating.
Have an invisible friend.
Don't forget to join us October 28th Hell in a Cell.
We will be on the air at 6 o'clock Central Time at Fox and Hound.
Richardson, Texas, 75 in Campbell.
Just west of the freeway right behind the McDonald's.
Five bucks gets you in the dough.
Take that other $55 you would have spent at home and get some great food and drinks.
Pool, darts.
The show.
Shuffle board.
Vampire.
It's all great, baby.
It's all great, baby.
LA and me.
Tech Corner.
Which is a great segue out of WWE because WWE 13, which I believe comes out two more weeks.
Yes.
Precels have already done better than WWE 12 with two weeks to go.
WWE 12 is a good game too.
I'll tell you, 13s impressed me from the play I've seen.
They've still got a ways to go on some of the mapping of these people.
Yeah.
But from a gameplay standpoint, it looks great.
It's not nearly as complicated as SmackDown versus RAW.
Got a couple of.
Please do.
Please do.
You'll be pleased to know, even though you don't have the console that you can play this on.
I will always be pleased.
The DS and 3DS will be getting a downloadable, I guess, downloadable.
Game of the reboot of Thundercats.
Ho!
Oh, I'm sorry.
That was more...
That was more...
Hacksaw's more hot day.
Yeah, it was Lionel, wasn't a hypothesis.
Also, I want to hang on to me to be...
to be fined here.
Apparently, this new NBA game came out.
Have you seen this thing called NBA Baller?
Ball Night!
No.
When you play it with the Connect, and they actually give you a basketball to...
It's like a basketball rhythm game.
Yeah.
And the Connect...
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Yeah.
Oh, you have no idea.
Guess how many copies it sold?
Five.
Oh, no, not that...
That's you.
15.
100.
3,000.
Oops.
Big seller!
The town we live in is bigger than this.
Exactly.
I walked past it whenever I was...
Oh, and I was picking up ET.
That's good.
And I looked at it.
They had this big display.
I'm like, those are not going to move anytime soon.
Also, the really big news right now, apparently...
is Halo 4 has already leaked.
People are...
I mean, they're showing like people with open copies of it.
People are posting videos.
Yeah, but if you know Microsoft, the day it comes out,
they're going to wipe out all their stats anyway.
Exactly.
I mean, they're Halo series games have been leaked before.
Never this early.
This thing's still like...
Well, this is a different studio and everything, too, isn't it?
But it's still Microsoft.
It's not...
It's not Bungie.
It's not 343.
But like the past three games they've had
have had early leaks, but never like two, three weeks out.
This is bad.
They're...
They're really hacked off.
Anything else?
That's pretty much it.
By the way, update.
Bottom of the seventh inning, Detroit is up to nothing on the Yankees.
Oh.
Not good for New York.
This is the first time Gary's joined us.
We always end every show with a list.
And we have a very special song we play for our list.
So I think this is what I think you're going to dig it.
Okay.
Because the street lights on.
It's been on.
It's been on for a while.
When I was a kid, when this started, everything stopped.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Dude.
And you knew that their boys and people were on drugs when they did this.
Yeah.
But we have...
We're going off the beaten path for the list tonight.
I'm looking forward to that.
Don calls me yesterday.
He says, you know what, dude?
I want the list tomorrow night.
And I went, well, Chad's supposed to do the list this week.
So if he's cool with it, I can roll with it.
This is only the second time in the history of this show
where somebody else has done the list.
That's not Clubhouse proper, right?
And it was Charlotte, right?
So now, this has kind of come full circle.
Because Clubhouse Fringe was now, has all been covered for the list.
So, Don, I'm going to sit back.
I'm going to let you do what you do.
All right.
I remember you did a show while back where you discussed, like,
the 10 worst products, like the ET Atari.
Did the movie TV promise?
Yeah, I know.
Promotional town.
Yes, sir.
You know, all that.
Yeah, all that.
Well, I did the 10, in my opinion, the 10 worst promotional gimmicks
or a product or company or anything like that.
That backfired.
So they, you know, they really backfired
and really actually hurt the company.
Bring it.
Number 10, Spirit Airlines.
In 2010.
Worst, worst, worst ever.
Worst airline ever.
Check out the oil in our beaches after the spill and the gold.
They put these hot chicks on the beach with the centennial oil.
Wow.
And after the, you know, people are lost there.
Businesses, you know, the environment, everything.
Oops.
This is also a company that charges you for gas.
If you didn't know.
Okay.
They also are now saying that if you do not check your baggage before,
because you have to pay for your carry-ons, too.
And if you don't make that payment before you get to the gate,
it's a hundred bucks.
All right.
So number nine.
A little restaurant out of San Francisco called Costa Sanchez in 1999.
They did a promotion.
If you got, if a customer got a tattoo of the Costa Sanchez logo,
they could eat there for the rest of their lives.
So you get a tattoo of the logo of the restaurant.
Put it on you.
You get it there for the rest of your life.
For free.
Yeah.
And so people are actually taking like little logo and putting it on the bottom of their foot.
You know, or something like that.
See, here's a tattoo.
I get it for free.
How much money did it lose?
Well, basically they had to cut it off real fast where they
kept the number out there of first 50 people.
And now they're saying you only get to eat there once a day for free now.
And it had to be a certain size tattoo and stuff approved after it.
Basically, they lost a ton of money because everybody is doing it.
Let's put it on the bottom of my foot in a little tattoo about the size of a penny.
And I'll get to eat there for free for the rest of my life.
Okay.
Yeah.
So that kind of backfired on them.
Number eight in 2007 was Snickers with the Mr. T commercial.
If anybody has ever seen that, where a guy is fast walking or whatever.
And he comes out with the gauntlet gun with Snickers saying, you know, you know,
gotta feed your appetite, get some nuts and start shooting a Snickers guard.
The Snickers bars out of the gauntlet gun at this guy who's fast walking.
It was not a good thing.
And his exactings were, um, get yourself some nuts to a guy who's fast walking.
Shootin' with that.
Shootin' with the gauntlet gun.
Did you ever say that commercial with Mr. T for this?
It rings a bell, but I don't remember for sure.
Okay.
Number seven, the Walker Potato Chip Company, which is the English version of Lays potato chips,
did a promotion in 2011 by a bag of chips for 40 pants, which is about 65 cents at the time.
Okay.
By a bag of chips for 65 cents, and then there's two things for the website.
And on those two guesses, you get to put the date and time when it's gonna rain in England.
They're in England, okay?
Because it doesn't rain in England.
Yeah, exactly.
And it never rains in Southern California.
You put, you put, you like Manchester on Tuesday.
If you guessed right, you want 10, but 10 pounds, which is $16.
It takes $16.
Yeah, so you get 40 cents and two guesses, and if you get it right, you get $16.
So guess what?
People were just buying up the bags in England in November.
It's like Seattle.
It's raining every day.
They started.
They lost up to $1.6 million.
Holy cow.
You can just say, hey, I paid 40 cents.
And I can do all these guesses all by 100 bags of those for, you know, 40 bucks and get, you know, 40 times, you know, $16.
That's awesome.
Wow.
That's awesome.
Predict the rain in England.
Yeah.
That's your bit, really?
That's so far.
It's like predict that it's gonna be hot in July.
The website said, no, we're no more.
We have to cancel this or whatever.
Yeah.
2008, in the live, you may remember this.
The Whopper version adds.
Whopper Virgins.
Where are these?
Oh, yeah.
And said, are you a Whopper Virgin and their foreigners saying they're saying, what's a Whopper Virgin?
And it just did not do well.
I vaguely remember that.
I remember these foreigners coming every had a Whopper before, no.
No, no, no, I'm from England.
No.
Well, here's a Whopper.
You're a Whopper Virgin.
I think you would give free Whoppers to people who explain they never had a Whopper.
Whopper Virgins, or it was not a good smart idea.
Yeah, but that's like people that are the other Virgins, Rocky, who are pictures here, though.
Yeah.
I think that's their kind of weapon.
But yeah.
Okay.
Number five is also Burger King.
They get number five, too.
2004.
Waking up with the King.
Oh, dearly more.
See, I love these.
I know, I am point of contention.
I love these.
Now, there's one ad in particular that I think you're talking about.
I wake up in bed from the morning and morning wake up.
There's the Burger King guy.
Tread lightly.
Tread lightly.
Yeah.
And as soon as he wakes up there.
Family friendly show.
I understand there's the Burger King, Burger King guy in bed with him.
Same.
Wake up the Burger King.
In a biblical sense.
Yeah.
But not being able to be seen, but there are certain shape patterns that might be conducive
to things that you're not supposed to show on television.
Exactly.
Yeah.
But outside of that one, I thought most of those King ads were kind of funny.
I don't know, but it didn't do good in there.
There's a thousand down six percent.
And he made three Xbox games.
Yeah.
All right.
Number four Skittles.
Number four Skittles 2008.
Oh.
Touch a rainbow.
I don't know if any of you ever saw the ad where a guy would literally touch something
and it turned to Skittles.
He touches desk at work.
It turned to Skittles.
And then a guy comes up to me and says, I can't see my family anymore.
I killed my family.
I can't.
I killed my grandson by touching him and turning him into Skittles.
Yeah.
There's one that's almost that bad.
I remember that one I showed you on YouTube.
You had to look this up on YouTube.
It's definitely not safe for work.
And it's a couple on their honeymoon.
And that is all I will say.
It's very wheels off.
Because you're watching.
You're like, what the?
What is this?
And then you're just like, oh my gosh.
This is really happening.
And you're just like, oh, I didn't really happen.
So he says, yeah, I'll never see my family again.
And I killed my grandson.
Yeah.
Not going to do it.
Yeah.
That's the, it's out there on the internet still.
Number three.
2000 Honda.
The Assimo.
The promotion.
The little robot that you could get supposed to help you.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Okay.
And when they promoted it to the world.
And here's a big press conference live.
Here comes out the robot.
They put the robot on stage.
It's like when they unveiled a new iPhone or whatever.
What happens?
The robot goes over two of the stairs.
Goes up about three stairs, stops and falls over backwards.
Nice.
Yeah.
So that didn't help them out.
Now Gary knows this one.
Number two.
1996.
Goes to Pepsi.
For their ad.
1996 Pepsi.
1996 Pepsi.
Gary knows this.
Pepsi during the Super Bowl commercial.
Did the Pepsi stuff campaign?
Oh, yeah.
You get a can of Pepsi or whatever you get a point.
And you get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
You get a point.
And it shows the commercial where a guy gets like puts on shades.
And it says 125 points.
You get Pepsi shades or Pepsi shirt for 100.
I remember this now, Chad.
You remember this?
Vaguely.
I remember what happens during the Super Bowl commercial.
They say for 70 million points.
It shows them at the end of the commercial.
The kid arriving to school in a, what is it?
Sorry about this.
F-16.
F-16.
F-16.
F-16.
F-jet.
A halogen.
Fighter jet.
Yeah.
And so you runs a school in the fighter jet.
And it says on the ad, F-16 fighter.
70 million points.
Right.
So what happens?
A guy named John Lether from Florida.
21 year old business.
That's my people.
It gets a bunch of investors, cause the thing is,
at the website, you could actually buy points for 10 cents a piece.
Yeah, well, no.
Something you'll if you pay for 70 million points, it's $700,000.
No, what's $7 million?
$7 million. $7 million. Oh, for ten cents. I'm sorry. Ten cents. Yeah, so public school education. Yeah, so what they get six investors and they go
Here's here's 15 points and $7 million. We want an F 16
Because that's always looking for an angle that's 70 million points because the F 16s at the time cost the military
$48 million we could get an F 16 for $7 million and turn around make a profit whatever we want our own F 16
Pepsi goes
We were joking. Yeah, the guy actually sued went to court
Uh-huh, okay, because he had these investors. Why wouldn't you? Yeah, it's on the Super Bowl ad
It says F 16 fighter jet for 70 million points and said during the Super Bowl ad will actually the courts backed up
Pepsi saying no reasonable person would expect that
But he did to he did actually sued and stuff like that and that the last one the king
1984 Mickey D's
McDonald's, okay, US wins you win campaign. Oh, yeah, I remember then here are the stats on this one
If they did a campaign during the Olympics of 84 before in LA in LA before the boycott of the Russians and all them
The if the US wins
You get cards at McDonald's on the card as a sport if the US gets a
Bronze in that event you get a free soda if they get a silver you get a
I've got you get a yellow prize and if they get the gold you get a big neck
Well, what they have they looked at the numbers and back in 1976 where the Russians and Americans competed in the last summer
Olympics before the boycott of 80
The Russians won 125 medals and East Germany won 90 40 of them gold, okay, right?
So in the US won 34 gold, okay, I mean, sorry
134 total, okay, all right
34 gold total well the Russians boycotted
Bill after McDonald's released the program
And so for instance sports where they put sports where the Russians respected the win like gymnastics a lot of cards at gymnastics
Ladies gymnastics
Mary Lou right in the first woman ever win gold in the you know overall all round gymnastics
Well, the US went from 34 golds to 83 golds
And of course they put out all the all the events that they expect all the Russians to win
They put out a bunch of those cards because they're like yeah, they're not gonna win
Oh wait a minute now the Russians are gonna be there and we won the golds and they already promoted it the cards were out
Some of the McDonald's ran out of big max. It got so
Haha
And it got so bad, you know style park since instead of since since did it they did a thing with crusty the clown and crusty burger
Did the safety they did a pit
But that cosmic Donald's so much because they next expect the Soviets to boycott and then they chose the carry new coke right after that
So that's my list outstanding great job. Sorry any honorable mentions. Yeah
The way Starbucks handled the events at ground zero. Oh, yeah
Yeah, but that wasn't I don't know if that technically yes because of what happened the summer after
They apparently okay, and I hate to go dark on this, but it was
It's about to get it's unavoidable
The the closest available facility for bottle water was a Starbucks run across street and ground zero
Okay, so the rescue workers go over there to get cases of bottle water as they're pulling out survivors and giving them to rescue workers
Starbucks wanted to charge them. No, they didn't want to charge them. They they did charge them
five dollars a bottle
Ooh for bottle water. Yep
So and this is on snopes. It's been verified and backed up. I may be getting some of the facts
This is where his boycott of Starbucks come in. I have passionate about my hatred for Starbucks because of this since this yes
Um, and so they said well, you could just contact our corporate office you can get reimbursed and they said no
We're not gonna reimburse you after they wrote in so then they take it to the media
And then the media gets involved Starbucks starts to backpiddle from it a little bit the following
It's the spring of the summer
They're doing there whatever it is their fruit smoothie drink is there the cool water or something like that
The promo poster that they put in the window directly across from ground zero as they are still cleaning up
Is a field of green straws with two big cups standing side by side
Full of their fruit smoothie with a dragonfly flying right at them
And then it says collapse into cool as the tagline. I'm like you classless
tasteless air absolute jerks how dare you
So I will never set foot in a Starbucks or buy anything Starbucks related ever. I don't really drink coffee
So that doesn't really bother me but it just it made me furious when I read that
Well, but would you go there if charla did her bit
No
Really? No nothing would get me into the door. I would go to watch that happen
Because charla who's our little sister and she's a Justin Timberlake of this show she shows up. She's on the show
She wants to do she's a big hunger games fan
So what she wants to do is she wants to go to Starbucks and whoever the little sister's name is I never write it
She wants to give that as her name and when they call the name she wants to go I offer myself a tribute and grab and walk out
I think that would be I'll see that's comedy that's comedy
