It is WWE Summer Slam Day, welcome, my name is Rob, I am the executive producer of the
clubhouse podcast and it is good to be home.
I was out of pocket out last week doing some work in Ohio for the job, had a great time
on to thank everybody in the Columbus area that I got to hang out with, also shout out
to Bridget Zinean, who reminded me, hey I live here, we need to have dinner, having
seen her in 24 years in person and we got to have a great dinner, got to spend some time
with some great people and I also want to send a shout out to a restaurant called Melt,
open in Dallas, you will make a killing, it is all I am saying, what is going on over
there, having some issues, they just stand up, it is fine.
Don is out of town on assignment, Chad is still on assignment but that does not mean
I am by myself, we are going to go around the day is going clockwise from master control
sitting in the co-host chair tonight is the lady of the house and a woman who continues
to do research so she can keep up with us, how are you friend, we are working our way
clockwise around the room, next to her is a man that could not be happier after last
night's events and we are going to talk about it in just a minute, Steven Zimmerman, how

I am doing well but I do want to take one quick minute, please do, I really want to give

right now, he's 3 points behind Doc, yeah, so yeah, you missed the view, let's see, let's
see, LA is 6 points ahead of Doc, Chad is 1 point ahead there, Steven you're a point ahead
of Chad, I'm 3 ahead of you and Don is still running away at 67 points, he's got a 761
winning percentage, but that could all change tonight, big numbers on the board tonight,
you know, I just wanted to notice, and I just want to put it out there, if I didn't crack
my ribs and didn't lose my phone in the river at the calm out, I probably would have
said I had a fucking Don, Don, so where's Proud of you, but no, he's doing well, he has sent
me his picks and we'll go over that here when we get there, we will start with the
week that was in our sport, flare is improving, apparently they had to remove part of his
bowel during this surgery, but apparently he's awake and has already cut a promo on his
nurse from what I've read, so it's good to hear that nature boys doing well, JoJo missed
Raw, we want to send our deepest condolences to her, JoJo missed Raw because of the passing
of her sister, I haven't read any details, it was just a press release that WWE put out,
saying that she was gone because her sister had passed away, so our best to her, hope she
gets back soon and hopes all as well with the family, let's go to Raw, I want to start
with the number one contenders match for the women's title, when did Alexa Bliss get certified
as a lifeguard, and is it in a little bit late in the summer for that, yeah I was kind
of like, if you're gonna be like a throne because she's the queen or the goddess, could it
not look like a lifeguard stand, what are we doing here, actually no because she wouldn't
be able to get me out of the water, she's five feet tall, she would drown trying to save
me, that's fair, that's fair, that is fair, I want to talk about Booker T for a minute,
he's getting harder and harder for me to deal with him as a commentator, here's a
quote from Booker T for Monday night, Elias Samson is not someone our truth wants to get
into a rap battle with, I kind of think he is, even though it might end in a tie, I still
think our truth would be okay with this, and he didn't hit him with a guitar, and we
were talking about this in pre-show, nice move by the booking team to have a title change
at the go home show, as you have a new cruiserweight champion in the carrots is out, I don't know
what happened because I left before that match was over, we've already had two of the
three pre-show matches before we started, and we're gonna talk about that here in just
a minute, and that's really all I had from wrong, there's anything anybody else saw, this
is kind of a week, week go home show, deal, alright so other stuff you need to know,
Alberto Del Patron stripped of the GFW title, thank goodness, and did you see who's booking
and, I was about to say that, because showing up on impact this week, Jim Cornett is now
part of the team at GFW, I love that man, he's a very fantastic booker, all the scum, all
the scum by any means, I mean a lot of people don't like the fact that I back him up and
I ripped the, the greatest man was a whole time, he's a fantastic booker, he's old school,
he likes telling the story, he doesn't like the flipie flipie die, he was the guy that did
OVW and Lesnar was there, and all those guys, so, Randy Orton, yeah, the reason why everyone
loves Sino is because of that guy right there, Tyrus gets his release from GSW, GFW, and
wait, wait, wait, wait, he was actually released, because I saw the Instagram video, I saw
the Instagram even, I know he'd been asking for it, apparently there'd been some creative
differences, but I did read, he's gotten his release, that came down late Thursday I think,
okay, because I saw the Instagram video where he said, he was like, I don't like the way
you're creatively making me look, I want to be booked this certain way, I want to be whatever,
and he said, I'm going to take a knee, and you can, you can figure out what you want,
they released there, they did release them, oh wow, they also released the Pope,
no, actually I have a high hope for him, so, let's bring the Pope back, I've always liked him,
singing him with Josh Matthews, just annoyed me, because Josh Matthews,
tonight, after the pay-per-view, will be your bracketology for the May Young Classic,
which I am very much looking forward to, starts next Monday night,
I'm watching the WCPW Wrestling World Cup, and I want freaking Zach Sobre, Jr,
or Taco Hashi to win that tournament, the hell with Ricochet, allegedly,
somebody was seen on a flight from Austin to New York City on Friday,
I love him, he's not listening, so you know my best friend Brian, he is a college consultant,
but works for a firm that also does displacement, he knows a guy, who knows a guy,
no, no, he knows the person directly, oh, so he knows a guy,
Undertaker is planning a return soon, he was on the plane to New York, with Austin and Sean,
but Undertaker is planning a return soon, but I didn't tell you, you're not supposed to know
that, because I love how he's whispering, I'm whispering because I don't want anyone to hear it,
nobody's listening, exactly, but Undertaker's returning, because,
oh, name dropping, Brian Taylor told me that he was like, when that bus shows up,
it didn't come from the show, it didn't happen, and also signing with the company this week,
also signing with the company this week, again, which apparently is better this time,
because they've cleared all of their stuff, Shelton Benjamin hasn't resigned with the company,
he's healthy, that's why, yeah, there was some health problems last year, and he was,
he was bummed out, the company was bummed out, nobody was mad at anybody for it,
but he's rippin' on ready to go, so there's that, also, before we even get the Smackdown
life, let's talk about last night, NXT take over Brooklyn too, first of all, what a hot crowd,
that crowd was engaged from the minute that pay-per-view started, until the minute it ended.
All right, here's, here's what I have to say about it, the crowd is good,
every crowd is up north in New York, any crowd, Long Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan,
those crowds are hot, white hot, man, but the problem with it was, actually, there was no problem,
let's just be honest here, it was the pay-per-view of the year,
not gonna debate that right now, and the crowd didn't make it the pay-per-view of the year,
you know, that's a foul point, for the one time in WWE's history, they could say there was a
total car top to bottom that stole all momentum in ring, most most time, everyone based everything
off crowds, in ring, nothing topped in ring performers like they did last night.
I'm not gonna debate that, that show was amazing, you had two of your three titles change hands,
as Sanity wins the tag team titles, and then you have a brand-new NXT champion in Drew McIntyre,
which was funny, because everyone looked to me after Bobby Law sounds like I told you he was going
to lose, but, I do like the new shirt though, with him standing and he's got his arms out
stretch and there's the light shining on him. I do miss, I feel it's weird, we all got super hyped
when Bobby came out, and we're all like, man, I know he's going to lose.
He did the flair strut coming down the aisle as a nice tribute.
He did the flair-esque roll with the red, with the red.
Yeah, he did, but damn.
And not a weak match on the entire card, even the matches that were singles matches that had
nothing going on, not a weak match on that entire card. I thought the Alistair Black match was
great. I feel Alistair Black should have been in that title match over Drew McIntyre, but
besides that point, the weakest match in that card was Bobby Roode, and I love Bobby Roode,
but that's the weakest match on the card. You're still ahead of the curve.
That was the brilliance of that card.
They should have known that I started it.
Yeah, I started it about an hour late, and I was texting you as I was getting fired up
and he was just like, dude, it's about to go down. LA is here, good.
What an amazing card last night. LA's finally here, and he is wearing sunglasses indoors.

Oh, people, sorry. We were just talking about NXT Brooklyn take over Brooklyn 2 last night.
Did you watch? What an amazing show.
It was awesome.

We were just talking about even the matches where there was nothing on the line were amazing matches.
We are the ball.
Everything from the start.
There was a great spot, and I even texted Steven when this happened.
When I almost tried to do the jump over the top rope and Gargano caught him in mid-air,
turned it into a DDT, that was insane.
And even in the women's match, first of all, congratulations,
Ember Moon, showing this town well.
I think Ember Moon actually built her stock.
Yes, she did.
The way she did.
That was the match of the year, and I will always stand by that for almost 24 hours now.
Yeah, I've been saying that's the match of the year so far.
Definitely no reference intended at all.
But the women's match, best I think I have ever.
See, we were talking on the pre-show.
I said definitely the best women's match I've watched in this decade.
I can't say ever because of the way the women's
division has worked through the eras.
Like, you couldn't have done this match the way this match was done 20 years ago.
You couldn't have happened.
They'd have buried it.
Yeah, they wouldn't have done it for more than five or six minutes.
That's what I'm saying.
This is the match of all time.
Best women's match of all time.
Match of the year right now, card of the year right now, the year is not over.
So I can't we're not going to give it the award now.
But but there's so much to that match that made this
favor you so spectacular.
They're so magical.
We're like in the run that the there.
I say that the match that probably if it was a disappointment,
was the main of it match?
What do you do?
No, no, no, to be honest, that match.
I've never seen a woman's match up skill any male match before.
That might have been top five.
I'm not going to disagree with it.
I'm not going to disagree with that.
Top five of all time.
Probably the most technically sound women's match I've ever seen.
Yeah.
Because you had two people that came out and and you talk about just
going like that's what they did between the reversals, the high spots.
Like the emotion that was sold when Oscar kicked out of the finisher.
Oh, yeah.
Like you Ember Moon looked like she'd literally been shot.
You bought it.
Like, yeah, I mean totally sold it.
Like I was doing other stuff.
When that match got moving,
that match was everything going on to me.
I stopped everything else I was doing.
That match stopped me down.
And it was one of those where I really wanted Ember to win that match.
But I kind of feel like at a certain level she did.
You know what I mean?
She did because she showed character development.
Her mic feels a bad.
And Oscar's title right now over 500 days.
500 and one tonight.
I think or five hundred six today, I think I'm actually glad.
I would have been okay with Ember having it.
But I think that would have killed it.
Honestly, I think Ember's whole thing is.
There's a rematch coming.

And that's why both of these women are so talented.

someone who's that good sells that well and can hold a crowd in the palm of her hand
and speak broken English like she does.
That's the problem with Nakamura, he can't do that.

And but she knows how to sell the promo with very few words.
Someone that doesn't have that eloquence
when it comes to the English language,
that by 10 or 15 words says more in a promo
than somebody cuts one for 20 minutes.
She can do that.
