My name is Rob by the executive producer of the clubhouse podcast and we're still not
back to abnormal yet that'll be next week because it's pay-per-view day so we've got to
be wrestling intensive tonight it is no mercy raw pay-per-view happening this evening we're
going to talk about we're going to spend the next few minutes with you then next week
we'll have we'll be back to abnormal with a normal show and then another pay-per-view
because this is the first of three pay-per-views within the next five weeks including today.
Man their brain split wears me out sometimes but I'm not alone first of all introduce everybody
then tell there's somebody missing and we're going to talk about why sitting in the co-host
chair of this evening is a man who's about ready to update his Oscar shirt because it's got
NXT on he's got to get the new one although I do like the the vignettes they're doing for her
they're pretty cool Steven Zimmerman is here welcome sir I don't think I can trust people who
pour milk in before the cereal you know what it's that's a weird strange thing I agree with you
on that you guys are on me hot all of you as we as we continue clockwise around the room we have the
lady of the house and someone who has been studying up trying to keep up with the rest of us especially
on pay-per-view day she is general welcome friend good evening I need to say happy anniversary to
Tim and Tina and happy friend aversory to Devon Pike we met three years ago mazel top

people get Medicaid and benefits they have over 400,000 applications their backlog
so he's down there working ever literally every day 12 hour days to help people get the benefits
that they need so thank you Don for they're saying go ahead and send me I'll go I'm sure that you
miss faith very very much but she's you know I'm sure she's doing great and she knows that she
can come find us if she needs anything so I'm certain with the great work he's doing he's
definitely working a lot harder than his Pittsburgh Steelers that's true that was a rough day for them
rough day for them today but he will be there until October the fifth so if you will keep Don in
your thoughts and all the great work that he's doing down there he said it's just he goes he'll
he'll get there people are getting there at like five in the morning and it's wrapped around the
building because where they're at they're at a mall right and so it's snaking through the mall
outside the mall wrapping around the mall he said he's been sending me pictures he sent me some
pictures of of homes that he's driven around and seen there's still a lot of work to be done
down there so just if you can give give in any way shape or form we kind of covered that last week

total since Chad wasn't here and didn't send picks which he didn't do tonight either there were
two gimmies because remember the two pre-show matches we had to do is gimmies because they happened
while we were on air so Chad's two two and two and 11 let's see doc went doc went six and seven
steven you went five and eight LA you went seven and six yeah I went five and eight but Don
Andrew both went eight and five so your updated numbers for the year Chad has 52 points
Andrew with 48 LA with 56 you are tied with steven right now doc with 49 I have 59 and Don has 75
he is kind of running away with this yeah there is there so you're saying there's a chance

all right let's go to let's get right into talking about the week that was in our sport again
thanks everybody for listening your input on last week's show it's a little weird for me but we
did it and I will be keeping that one for posterity and when I'm speaking of last week's show I want
to start well and uh Russ is in the chat room good to see you sir and he said Greg had to work
so Greg couldn't be here tonight hi Russ I want to talk about something that broke during the show
last week and I really wanted to put a pitted I wanted to I wanted to report it when it happened
but I wanted us to talk about this week and it is the passing of Bobby the brain heenan
I am I was I was set heenan was one of those guys that when I was a kid
I was a kid once okay you just said just once it's the voice the voice has been shaky for a week
he was pulling on his inner dawn for representation I did not say lasso you go pound sand
when you're when you're a kid and you're white bright bright and bushy tailed and
faces or faces and heels or heels and you know that it's not you know you know that it's
scripted but you still buy into it because of your suspension of disbelief you're real to me damn
exactly heenan was one of those guys you love to hate
and it's and it's because he was so good at his job there is never in my opinion greatest heel
announcer of all time did he completely disappear from the wrestling business for like last he was
having some health problems he had some surgery yeah no jaw yeah not not to the extent of like
Roger Ebert but it was definitely different he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004 I believe
by blackjack mulligan I have and jen if you need to borrow this I have the bobby the brain hean dvd
yes please I'll put that on the wish list 2004 but blackjack lanza inducted him
one of the greatest wrestling managers of all time because what I loved about heenan
was number one he wasn't afraid to get in there and mix it up when he wrestled the ultimate warrior
and warrior put that weasel costume on him and he chased his tail I was like god bless you sir
and you know goldberg if you saw the and I just want to say what an amazing tribute they did to him
Monday night on raw what an absolute amazing tribute when they showed goldberg's tweet
that's and he said in his tweet my my career wouldn't be where it is without you and he's right
but one of the things you really have to appreciate with heenan is he could take anybody from
the top of the roster all the way down and make them believable and pull anybody into that story
well remember that promo he cut if you're with me you're going to the top
one of the things that my original co-host Cody and I used to love to talk about was the promo
right after flair won the royal rumble and won the title and heenan took that payphone on the wall
and spun it around because it was just a prop on a set as flair's going with it tear in my
yeah there was something about that man number one shame left him a long time ago
and that has a lot to do with his greatness he was so razor sharp when it came to his wit
that I felt bad for anybody that had to go toe to toe with him and as great as ventura was
with monsoon it was nothing as good as brain whether it was monsoon what especially Vince
when brun he didn't had to work with Vince at the table I don't know how Vince could hold a
straight face I'd have been like if I'm Vince I'm like just don't put the camera on me at all so
I can hit this mute button jr tweeted that it was a gut punch and that was about right because
remember it happened during the show like it completely stopped me down in my story because it was
just another one of those there's another piece of my childhood gone right and I was such a fan
of him in general with especially when he would wear the disguises when he was trying to break into
Monday night raw shot shot mooney of all people caught him it's just I love that clip of their
show in the in the in the memoriam when he and guerrilla were at some pool and he's like
let me tell you this we're here in my police you'll estate my pool the guerrillas looking at him
like really he is going to be sorely missed just knowing he was out there know he even though he
wasn't in the limelight and he wasn't really involved in the business knowing he was out there
remember he did the the gimmick battle royal at at WrestleMania 20 and she came out and he goes
yeah by the time he gets to the ring gonna be WrestleMania 27 still got it you know and
the greatest heel announcer of all time because he knew how to sell anything that a heel did
and he always had an excuse for it he and it was it wasn't just like oh he's just doing like
he didn't always had a legitimate explanation to why a heel broke the rules they did and if a
face did it no that's the wrong thing you could ever do why is the ref not seeing this right nobody
did it better than him nobody and he will be sorely missed not only by the people in this room
but by people that are fans of the industry in general he transcended the industry and brought
and he just made it fun whether he was wearing a sequin jacket or riding a camel backwards into
WrestleMania he always made it fun a lot of those guys like you're Larry's of this goes you
Jerry Lollars you know they they all took a page from the brain well didn't he didn't at one
point manage the best go yeah yeah and he managed the brain busters when it was when they weren't
horsemen because they went to the WWF I mean some of the people that he's managed big John stud
Andre the Giants he knew how to be a manager but like you said he let the talent shine
he he understood the game on a level that a lot of people did it and never could he was just as
great as a manager too with your Jimmy hearts and all that oh absolutely just as great as a manager
as well as the comment I think he was the best he really was I don't think anyone
talks about Paul Heyman Paul Heyman's good mouthpiece but he ain't getting in the ring taking a
bump he's not sitting there overselling for somebody to really tell the story and I would
guarantee you Heyman would tell you the same thing yeah yeah Heyman did the best thing at being

undergo a shoulder surgery could be out several months they're saying yeah that was just push

elevator uh to separate it he was the one on the way up so by mania time whoever had the belt
he would be the one immediately after he'd be the pay-per-view after mania he'd be the one man
that can just float around do whatever he wants because he's he's broken he's dead he's dead
he's dead he's probably the most overrated thing right now because he's sitting there teasing
delightful but yeah cool it was over about six months ago it doesn't translate to ww get used to it

your main event i i think they finally did the whole they finally played the promo from February
2012 of scene of talking about rock and this whole angle this whole rock this whole angle i've been
going is are we gonna acknowledge this promo about him talking crap about rock saying that he
wasn't leaving and then you did yeah you know i'm not going anywhere see it survivor series Hollywood
in the flip of the mind that was funny that i enjoyed that very much but i still could care less
about this match but what's the owner and how many people wanted to pull that promo but they saved
it for the gold they would have had to do it for the go-home show it makes sense and by the
now they saved it for rains though well i i would say they saved different ranges it was funny though
when they were showing that comparison video yeah who was commentating NXT back then the highly
anticipated debut of this man Roman Reigns it's like did you record that on like one of those old
school like phonographs i don't know it was bad it was back with fcw still up cw's broadcast
team and i have no clue who was on there it wasn't NXT by that point no it was it was still a
but i'm still okay i'm saying i had no scene i had a swim through ov w that's where he started
remember he was the prototype uh John Cena yeah and he was about like what he's good who was that
he was wrestling in that clip because it looked like it looked like a younger baron Corbin but i
know it wasn't him uh Matt Morgan and boy ov w you talk about a lack of production value oh yeah
that was bad and they had all they had all the stars too yeah lezner orton batista batista like you
just had all these all these top money makers and like even when ROH was on HD net at least their
production value was better than ov w and i want to talk a minute about something we talk a lot
about this show about Cena getting booed in Roman getting booed because they're getting shoved
down our throats and but by that same logic why don't people boo Jason Jordan more see my my
thing is uh it's just a cool thing to do there's nothing wrong Roman Roman's actually great work
Cena is great work i agree with you like you know don's gonna say here break a window if someone
says Cena's good Cena is good that's the thing he sells money he does exactly what a sports
entertainer needs to do he's not a technical guy but this is wwe this isn't ring of honor this
and you're right you just want to sell t-shirts and tickets and everything and he could you
could tell a story in the ring just because he's not flipping and doing all this extra stuff doesn't
mean he's not telling the story same thing with Rome dive so and Jason Jordan is gonna be on the
worst part of that because he is like he is a deliberate copy of Roman reigns where people are
watching him getting shoved down your throat and you're just like okay just when is this happening
when is this happening now it's just the matter of when is he in the main event because i like the
kid don't get me wrong i don't always talented he's the talented in ring performer but everything
about him he's he's he's a dull as i don't like the angle they've got him in i think that this angle
is it's kind of the only thing is they're not booing Jason Jordan because people are too busy
sighing and rolling their eyes at this storyline that's being shoved at us they're sighing at the
storyline they're not sighing at the kid yet and he and he and angle have no on air chemistry at all
i think that he's not getting booed is nobody cares but they haven't taken an interest that's fair
when he gets astray should he win tonight is that you think that he starts getting booed tomorrow night
wrong he gets the bell tonight then people will start taking notice to say okay boo okay or we'll
talk about that when we get to predictions because i also want to talk about friday night
ROH death before dishonor 15 happened in vegas are those of you that don't want the spoilers
fast forward in three two don't say the one bully ray and the briskos defeat the kingdom
to face the young bucks and Adam page for the six man titles but bullet club retains

get the j white thing just yet uh kenny king is your new tv champion yeah that was that was right
on the wall one once he once he came back from from the bachelor at yes bachelor yeah once
he came back from that you the k and g king they they separated him from the rebellion or whatever
and yeah well they disbanded the rebellion well then you knew that was money for him though as
soon as he came back as money i like kenny king so when is the debut of j leap the one x t
i'm just wondering he i don't think he wants it i think j's happy where he is but what is he doing

on you would swear j leithal is is lip syncing to a rick flair pro one of the only one of the fewest
times you've ever caught rob watching tna i watched you know what time before i when i had a channel
i could watch it on but i don't get pop tv and then the craziest thing you didn't even know this
gold was coming the rick flair just came out with no opportunity was talking his normal smack and all
of a sudden his music hits because bad even before that he had a gimmick where he was black mcchismo
and he was a black version of savage and his savage was dead on the first time i ever went to it
to an event because they were at house of blues this was probably eight years ago or so it was oh it
was oh nine or ten yeah the only reason i went was because he was on the card i'm like i have to
see this bit in person because book or tea was your champion he wasn't even there uh staying

which i i don't know i don't know that i've ever seen the contract like that before it was kind
of his like handshake deal that they agreed on before before he signed it and i mean that's why
i ended up at the g1 and all that extra stuff and he was arrested which was that apply to domestic
companies or just domestic location domestic locations is what it looked like so but i don't know
that like ww would let him if they do a tour of japan or whatever but i was really hoping i mean
even now now with it with the jeff surgery that's not going to happen but people were pitching around

because you're gonna have nxt take over houston two or is this the first nxt take over so nxt take
over houston survivor series and then starcade and hold on stay with me and if you're on the wick

smackdown exclusive kind of show they say a special appearance by the hardies and then the rock

big shows circa 1999 by the way rap I don't know if you've mentioned this uh huh but this is going
