Welcome. Now you may be saying to yourself Rob, it's another Friday night. The show is normally
on Sunday night. I'm very, very confused by this. It's okay. First of all, confusion is a little
upsetting at first, but once you get used to it, it's not too bad. Trust me. We're going to talk about
why we're on Friday night here in just a moment, but let's introduce you to some people around the
table to my right is my co-host and a man who's been very music intensive for the last few hours.
He is Chad. Welcome sir. Glad to be here with you sir. Across from him is the official fact
checker of the show and the man who completes the puzzle that I am now officially the only member of
Clubhouse proper that does not work for the government. You may know him as fond Don go, but his
mama name I'm Don Ford. I'm going to call him Don Ford. Welcome sir. I'm done singing. I'm
you know what promise? Yeah. You swear. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I will neither confirm nor deny any feelings.
I have about that right now. I'll get the veal around soon. Oh wow. Something about a frying pan
on a fire. I can't bang my head against this microphone and have it paired up. Also joining us on
the day is currently across from me as a friend of the show and a man who's who's discussion talents
really kept this show afloat two weeks ago tonight. Thank God. From that nerd show Marcus Blake is
here. Welcome sir. All right. Glad to be back. I did to have you back. So we're on Friday night
this week because we are covering our second of three film festivals for the month of April,
which might be a record for us. This is a brand new film festival in Dallas. The first time ever
for an environmental film festival is the Earth X film festival. It's coinciding with the largest
Earth Day celebration in the world that happens right here in Dallas for it worth this weekend.
There's some already been showing some films. There's more films coming up as the weekend goes on.
Right now there's a big gala going on. We're live at Fair Park for those of you that don't live
here. That is where the Texas State Fair is held every year, which we're in less than six months
away from or right at six months. It's an October. We're around my births away, right? Texas OU is
during my birthday weekend usually. Depending on who you ask, because some people say two. Yeah,
or go yeah, we're around there. It's right by the cotton bowl, the original cotton bowl. Yes,
okay. We're also right by music college, Fair Park. We're gonna talk about that here in just a minute.
Well, here's the thing. I don't like talking so I gotta go. I'll be like walking.
Well, at least he's not singing. Well, that is true. Listening through the last couple of shows,
I didn't have any corrections or updates unless you heard something I didn't, sir.
No, I did not. All right. We've got some people sitting down with us as we're waiting for people
to come back from the gala sitting down, taking the dawn chair. Friend of the show, Daniel Dirtis
here. How are you, sir? How you holding up? I'm sweating enough to be one of the busiest men around.
And the sharpest dress person on the day is currently. Well, thank you sir. Thank you, sir.
So while we're waiting for some some friends of the show to arrive,
others friends who have friends of the show here now, let's get into some TV headlines.
I want to talk more cotton bowl. Okay, let's talk cotton bowl. What do you want to talk about?
My grandfather and father were part of the officiating staff at the cotton bowl for 27 years.
And during which time? Oh, God, man.
68 through dating the hell out of myself now. I don't know. Like into the 90s.
A 89 90 somewhere out there when my grandfather started to feel a little ill. But I as a six year old child
was at the Houston versus Notre Dame game on the sidelines when Joe Namath went in as an unknown backup.
And basically got did the work to get drafted by the 49ers. Look at that. You mean Joe Montana?
When he wasn't. Joe Montana. I say Joe Montana. He said Joe Namath. I was going to roll.
I said Joe Montana. I said Joe Montana. I'm going to say Joe. I'm looking to roll with it.
They're both great Joe's. Bocha this. One of them one of them ran out of a super bowl pointing
a finger in the air and the other one one more than he did. So it all kind of works out.
But the other one did a sketchers commercial. That is true. Yeah, did you see that?
That was very uncomfortable recently. I was always like is that a sketchers commercial going on
right there? That's almost as bad as Rob Lowe's doing them now too. I was like Rob Lowe was doing
sketchers commercials. Yeah, but you know, even Tom Brady couldn't get guys to where a set is true.
That's a fair point. But the the cotton bowl just a few more but with us two or three years with
the big facelift. The facelift really happened for the cotton bowl I think for the 94 world cup.
Now I'm talking about recently though. They just recently done another facelift on it. But they
put some with the technology. Oh, that makes overhaul a couple of years ago. That does kind of
make sense. I went to that breakfast this morning with the secretary Perry and that's that's a
beautiful little area up in there. This whole area fair park. I'm a huge fan of and then we might
as well just talk about it. Got an interesting email today. This is breaking news for as far as
the show goes. As you guys know, Dallas Summer musicals is a partner of this show. They're one of our
vendors and we love the fact that they let us come see musicals and review them for you.
Last year we covered the Texas high school musical awards for them. We did a pre show. That's all we're
backstage interviewing the winners. And we kind of floated something out there just to see where it
would go. We didn't think it would really go anywhere until today. Next month May 18th is the
is this year's Dallas the Texas high school musical awards where kids come from all over the state.
It's like a smaller version of the Tonys. It's a big deal. The nominees come in on the red carpet
with classic cars. Kids are dressed to the nines. Awards are given out. They pack musical.
Russ is in the chat room. Good to see you, sir. This year there's a brand new award being sent
and given out for social media and your boys are going to be presenting this award.
Oh, that's awesome. We are presenting an award in Texas high school. I want to come and cover
y'all. Covering the best. It's like a meta thing. We got to go deep. Looking into those infinity
mirrors that they did in 70s. So we're going to be doing that next month May 18th. So we're actually
going to be doing the show live beforehand. Then we're going to go back to the green room so we
can talk to the winners again. And then we're going to have to like put music on for a couple of
minutes. And you never know because it's a social media award. You never know how our social media
is going to work into that. I'm just saying. I do know how the green room is going to be though
because they're high school students and they have shaperones. That's no real green room.
That's a that's a blue and yellow room. It has yet to become green.
Wow. Some of you will get that. It's some of you are you volunteering to be a bad guy.
Volunteering to be a bad guy. No, that's that's called contributing to the
okay. All right. Allegedly. It's our favorite word on this show. All right. Let's get into some
TV headlines as the big headline from the week Bill O'Reilly getting removed from Fox News
replaced by Tucker Carlson. Wow. I'm not that I know even even exchange. But I I I am amazed
because I mean you guys do it live all the time. And when you manage to leave the F bombs
and that's true. We'll do it live. We'll do it. Wow. That was good. We'll do it next.
Uh crap out of me. Freeform has announced they've renewed shadow hunters for season three.
So for both of you watching that show, congratulations.
Sounds like an old Genesis game. But isn't Shadowhairs isn't that based on that
mortal bone city thing that movie they did a couple years ago? I'm pretty sure it is. Yeah,
the Lynn Collins movie, right? I think so. Yeah, there is one good thing about it though. It is
definitely better than the movie. Okay. Fair enough. I'm not saying the bar is very high. And
something that we talked about in pre-show that that Barcus is very excited about. Fox has renewed
and for another season of the X-Files. Yes. Season 11 is coming. Boulder and Scully are coming back.
I wish I'd jump on board with that thing when it happened because I didn't. I didn't. It totally
passed. Well, I was speaking and speaking of a little X-Files news. This is what happens when
my co-host sends me stuff that ruins my Memorial Day weekend. Sort of. And it hasn't happened yet.
Yeah. There's a convention here in Dallas at the Sheraton Hotel, the Great Monitoring
Convention. Which friends of the show Lady D. Richards is going to be involved in.
Right. But apparently the lone gunmen are coming down to doing a panel.
Really? Yep. They're going to be here. They're going to be here at the lone gunman.
Okay. Fair enough. Would they have like that three episodes spin off?
It did last the full season. Oh, did it go full season? Yeah.
But we actually, we suggested something for the lone gunman. We were talking about this week's
sound of the apocalypse, which wins on our show. And we were talking about the New York Daily
Post sounding like the lone gunman newspaper with an article, you know. So it was really
Brendan's idea is like, do you have to be a great show if the lone gunman kind of did like a
daily show where they comment on real news and then tell you all the lies and filter through
and bring about the conspiracies. So they're going to teach us about fake news.
Right. Thanks. I use people the only but there would be some bad news if that happened.
That means Alex Jones probably wouldn't have a show anymore. That's fair. Yeah. That's fair.
This scares me. Yeah. From the smartest man alive department, we talked about it. It's now
kind of fruition. It has been announced that next season season four of Star Wars Rebels will be
the final season. That hurts. Because this, well, this season they established the timeline.
You can't go much farther with what they did this season. They told you now exactly where they
fit into the storyline. So you have a fine ideal. And I think one season is more than enough
to establish themselves to that point. I'm okay with it. Well, I think the bigger question about
that is, you know, who who makes it out? Well, and you also have to understand this is Disney. If
you don't think they got three more things in a pipeline, you're out of your mind. Yeah. What's
up next? Jedi high. Don't put it past them. Hey, there is a great Star Wars fan film out there called
Jedi House is the Jedi bird, you know, with animal house. Oh, dear. Tatooine 90210.
Let's see. Oh, we've talked about this in pre-show that brand new season of MST3K has dropped
on Netflix. One of the episodes will be dealing with stranger things. So now you've got two of my
wonderful things coming together into one thing. I've heard nothing but good things about this
revival. If you love MST3K or 3000, you're going to love this. And if you don't, you're a communist.
I would agree. I think that's fair. I would agree. Also, having Felicia Day and Pat and
Allswald, two of the greatest nerds out there being on their own little ship, bringing it back to
me. Yeah. You couldn't have asked for better people to do. Well, they brought part of the
Alamo Drafthouse's Master Pancake guys to actually be writers. For Mr. Gauvin's fairly
deeply entrenched with. Oh, yeah, all the way back to their cease and desist of Mr. Sinus 3000.
Back to freeform for just a minute. They are doing that new warrior series coming out. They
have announced who the characters will be. Squirrel Girl, Mr. Immortal, Knight Thrasher, and Speedball.
They're going to do 10, 30 minute episodes that are coming next year. So as Disney decides,
they're going to keep expanding the Empire. That's where they're going. And a lot of people
were like, Squirrel Girl's getting a show. Cool. Like that's been the consensus. I think that
anytime we see Mickey Mouse, he should always be followed by the Imperial March.
Hey, you know what? I for one welcome our overlords. I'm just saying. Is it just me or does Speedball
sound like the the next product? Eisenberg would have made it.
I'm just saying. Ian McShane has said the script for the Deadwood Revival film has been turned
into HBO. And in his quote, we would all love to do it. Sir, get on the floor. You know,
you're scaring me. I don't like, I don't like the phrases, do it, ever coming out of
the Swaringer's mouth. You know what? And that's actually that show is what introduced me to Ian
McShane. And I love that man. And I love everything he does. But it all goes back to Al Swaringer.
I don't care what you say. Well, I don't care what he does. It all goes back to Al Swaringer.
And that that show was so brilliant. I never wanted an overlord balcony until I saw that film.
Now I want every house I have to have an overlord balcony. And speaking of like revival shows,
I still think this is much better than bringing prison back. We talked about that in
free show too. My wife was a huge fan of the original run of prison break. She has no desire to
watch this at all. Do you think it's an age time has passed in her life. So she's become different
therefore prison break. But see, my wife has the most random tastes in films and television shows.
So it could just be that's how she feels today. It's this like sometimes I'll walk through the
bedroom because she likes to watch TV in the bedroom. And I'll walk and I'll be like, and I'll
just look at the TV and then I'll look at her and I look at the TV and I look at her. And she's
like, yeah, it was on like that's usually the way it works. Look, we all have our trash TV. Okay,
I I'm freely admit on your podcast here that yes, I did watch dog the bounty hunter.
Bad boy. And then when South Park made fun of it, that was way better. Yes, right now. I was
going to say you admitted to dog the bounty, but you shall vlog yourself, sir. You shall.
We all have our trash TV. Like right now, my current, great guilty pleasure. And I've said
a hundred times on this show is Riverdale. Riverdale is brilliant. I will, I will defend it.
I do the guilt. I've been binging vampire diaries. I don't think it's over. I sometimes watch
teenage vampires. So, uh, what's the next thing for you? Uh, gender reassignment? Yeah,
wow. Probably so shots returned. I think I think that happens in season six. Okay. All right.
I'm not there yet. Look, we call it like it is on that nerd show. HBO has also announced that they
are doing a new adaptation of Fahrenheit 451, uh, starring Michael Shannon and Michael B. Jordan.
All right. I'm intrigued by this. I love Michael B. Jordan at Hauss. I do too. It's a Hauss.
And I think that Michael Shannon is a great actor. Michael Shannon is one of the great actors
of our time. Let's just be honest with it. I mean, he's just one of those guys that I feel like
he's acting, but he's not at the same time. Like, I feel like if I ever met Michael Shannon,
that would be the guy. And you know, well, at the Texas Film Awards this year, I did have the
pleasure of getting to speak with Michael. All right. And hang with him late. And somehow
bounced into the, the, a real green room. And trust me at the Austin Film Awards, it's quite a
green room. So let's, I mean, what were your impressions of the man? Oh, dude, he's like,
just very subdued, but holy cool. Like, I don't fish. But if I did, that's the guy I want to go
fishing with. Like, to me, he was the only good thing about nocturnal animals. Oh, yeah,
without a doubt. I mean, he got nominated for that film for a reason. Well, in the close,
because Tom Ford, and as a nerd, I'm going to go ahead and say it. I thought he was a better
Zod than Terence Stamp. And that's hard for me to say. Oh, I know. You may have blasted me
your nerd license got revoked. Yeah. You just admitted to watching Vampire Diaries. Are you,
are you, are you willing to say I had a nerd license? That's never admitted that. All right. So
Lock and Key has been a comic title that has bounced around for the better part of a decade. It
was going to happen as a series and then it wasn't and then there was going to be a movie and
then there wasn't. Apparently now Hulu has ordered a pilot for the comic series Lock and Key.
I like that series. For when I did read it, I don't know if I want to, I don't know. I'm
going to reserve judgment on this. I really am not educated on the subject. It's, it's, do
check it out. It's check out the, the wiki because I, we could try to describe it, but it would
take us the whole show, but it's a really neat concept. Well, you know, a person I did see just kind
of come into the room here and I know he was going to take over for me or one of the guys here.
Okay. Um, but being that y'all were talking all this X files stuff earlier, Brian Massey just
walked through the doors. You know what? And you know what? Let's ask him how he got his
SAG card. Well, I know, and the earlier we get Brian in the show, probably the better off we are
because the last time Brian was on the show, I don't know that Brian remembers. He was on the show
a couple of weeks ago. How you doing? It's great to see me again. You're shates. Brother, how are you?
I'm great. How are you? Do you remember the last time you were on the show?
Yeah, mainly. You were the one in the middle. I remember you. Exactly.
Me and my trip. There were three of them. Yeah. So we're, we're asking you how you got your
SAG card? Yes, I was working. I just moved to Los Angeles and I had no agent, but I got a call
from my manager, Daniel Slotick, producer of many great Dolph Longer movies. And he said they
need a Nazi. You can go to Long Beach and get to the Queen Mary. So I ran down there, they
shaved my head, threw me a schwaastika outfit. And David, the company was the coolest man I ever met.
Isn't he really? He's very, he's the most soft spoken actor I've ever heard. The boom guy,
he's like, he's literally just trying to frame me. The boom is always almost in frame. He's like,
I don't know what he's saying. By the way, as a hardcore ex-files fan, that is one of the most
underrated but fun episodes. Yeah, it's the whole like triangle. Right. The whole reverse, like
parallel universe thing. I love the fact that the smoking man is like a Nazi computer.
Yeah, that was my first time. It was a, I discovered what rain pay was. They were raining us with
a rain machine. And he was there. The smoking man. When he was there. Yeah, I was a fan too.
Like, oh my god. Oh, cool. I'll get my SAG card in this, you know. So I was just trying to
turn it off. And you know, that's something, I don't know that we've ever asked anybody on this
show. And it's an interesting question. As an actor, this is, you know, you're getting your first
get to get your SAG card. How do you just pull yourself out of that moment of holy crap that's
David Duke happening? Like, how do you get to that place? Uh, you never do. Okay. Well, that's a good
thing. Yeah, because I follow my Instagram and I actually geeked out over him when they announced
the ex-files. I run this whole paragraph and he still hasn't liked it. But I know that it was
good. I mean, are you constantly going, I have to be cool. I have to be cool. I have to be cool.
Or do you just kind of just throw yourself into the moment and pray to God it doesn't happen?
I mean, I think it's a combination. I don't know that I could do that. You mean the rejection
factor? That's what we're talking about. No, the rejection, not only the rejection, but just the
fact of like, I'm staring at this person who I've held on this pedestal. And I, you know, I
was constantly in my mind going, am I doing this right? Is he humoring me? He's very tall, you know.
That is very tall. And I mean, Jillian Anderson wasn't as friendly and I'm not saying
anything wrong with that. But David Accomany was sitting around just talking to all of us as a group.
And we're all there in the Queen Mary. And that's the one day where they had the World War Two veterans
touring the Queen Mary. And we're wearing German outfits. Oh, I bet that went well. And so these guys
were giving me the death stairs. I bet they were. Hey, I got this an actor. I'm lucky to be here.
I killed your top. I killed you. Yes, yes, yes, you did. Yes, you did, sir.
But it was, uh, yeah, that's my ex-file story. David Accomany was super nice. That's awesome. Yeah.
And there's another project to do it again. Have you ever watched a triple ex-files?
And that's allegedly family show family show. Hey, hey, we were talking earlier about the Texas
high school musical awards. And tying into that, the have announced these hosts for this year's
Tony Awards. And it will be one Kevin Spacey. Oh, he's hosting the Tony's this year. I'm not worthy.
Do I have to ask your time? Yes. Yes. All right. So we go into a TV that will be available on DVD and
Blu-ray this coming week. Uh, in case I know you're excited about this, sir. And I'm just going to let

Robert Julio, bass player from Metallica, has a 12 year old son named Ty.
Yes, I heard he is touring in South America with Korn right now because their bass players out
for their calling personal family reasons. So this 12 year old kid is just out there with Korn
touring South America. And apparently he's a beast. Oh, no, they're saying that he's out there.
There's apparently some YouTube footage out there right now that people are going, yeah,
this kid's legit. Wow. Yeah, it's like, yeah, my dad's in Metallica. I'm playing with Korn.
Life doesn't suck. That's all I'm saying. Uh, we've got, uh, we got, we're going to cover music
and releases today and next week because we won't be doing a show on Sunday because we're doing
the show tonight. Uh, today, if K, if you haven't purchased them yet, Brad Paisley's Love and War
releases today, Incubus returns with a brand new album. Oh, gosh. That's one of my cousin's favorite
bands. Americana from Ray Davies, formerly of the Kings. Yeah. And Robin Hitchcock releases a
self-titled album, not the Coach of the Doll Star. Bloodlines. No, that that would be.
I'll drop a thing. I'm sorry guys. I'm new to the show. And Cheryl Crowe with a brand new album
called Be Myself. Uh, next Friday, uh, Fist with a brand new album, not, not front of the show.

Newfound glory has returned with an album called Makes Me Sick, which oddly enough,
right from Mary G Blanche. The cranberry. Wow. The cranberries are back next week.
Really? Wow. If you haven't heard John Hauser sing his version of a certain song,
I don't know. It's called something else obviously enough. Uh, Thurston Moore with Rock and
Roll Consciousness and Willie Nelson with a great name for a new album from him called God's
Problem Child. So that's going to cover you. We are live right out the Earth X Film Festival.
The world's largest Earth Day celebration this week happens right here in Dallas at Fair Park.
Last year, over 130,000 people visited Fair Park over the Earth Day weekend. I'm sure
that there's a lot going on. I mean, I'm looking at the event guide. You could kill a mule
with this thing. It's so thick. And I was just flipping through it. There's a lot going on.
They're basically taking over Fair Park. So if you're in the Dallas Fort Worth area,
come on down. It's going to happen all weekend long. There's a lot of great films that are being
shown right now. There's a bunch of people at the Gala. We're hoping to catch some of them if they
come here to the after party. We are at the Magnolia Lounge located over by Music Hall.
So there's stuff going on all day tomorrow, all day Sunday, celebrating Earth Day,
take care of your planet. We're going to talk more about that as the show goes on.
Well, we do have our resident NHL visitor to the show with us. So we should probably talk a
little bit of a hackie. That would be one Marcus Blake, who's not really having a good time
with the NHL right now. But you know what? Your Black Hawks had a great season. Black Hawks,
you can't go black Hawks. The man's Chicago. Dallas stars, baby. We have a new coach,
new old coach, but we can talk about that for a minute. Is it a weird kind of a
karmic balance that they remove Lindy Ruff and replace him with all I think of that last week?
I think it's karmic balance, personally, because I could never get used to Lindy Ruff coaching
this team, but I still can't get used to Ken Hitchcock with no mustache. He's no kangaroo.
He's no Captain Kangaroo. Yeah, it's true. But Marcus, I mean, you're a resident hockey guy.
But you know, but again, your Black Hawks had a good season. Look, every dynasty ends.
It does. You know, when a dynasty ends, I mean, you know, age takes over. It's just like,
I saw the Black Hawks just get old every night. They were outskated. They, you know, no defense.
And yeah, it sucks. It happens. I mean, the great New York Islanders finally got beat by the,
you know, the Oilers back in the 80s. Yeah. But to me, the Stanley Cup playoffs are the only
of the major sports where your seating means nothing. Home ice means nothing. That's why I love
the NHL playoffs because it's not one of those you've got a clear cut person that's going to win
the thing. Like every night is a struggle in the NHL playoffs. They're my biggest observations
about the playoffs. And you're right about that because I mean, they talk right into the things,
sir. The Kings, you know, when they're Stanley Cup being like the bottom seat, both times.
But the other thing is it's this divisional playoff format when they change things up instead
of it being like one versus eight. Well, why should you have to have that like that?
Metropolitan division. Well, I understand that. But all your division teams are like duking it out
and beating each other up in the first couple of rounds before some of these matchups don't
belong in the first round. These are like Western Eastern, Eastern Conference. You know, I agree.
But yeah, I mean, it sucks to have your team swept and it happens. But I mean, I'm not going to sit
there complying too much because I've seen three Stanley cups one in the last years. Indeed,
indeed. And they were talking about this on one of the radio shows I listened to. And they were
saying that you know, has the craziest overtime rule ever, Australian rules football. Now,
I don't know if you know how their championship game works. No, it's actually happened twice in
the modern era in their championship game. If it ends in a tie and they go to overtime and overtime
ends in a tie, they wait a week and play the whole game again. Oh my god. Yeah, it's happened
twice in the modern era. I'm like, could you imagine if the NFL did that? Like we're coming to
your town, but you're going to need to block off an extra week. Right. Just in case it sounds like
a cricket match. Those things can go in place solid. I respect people that play cricket because
any game that can say we're now in day two. That's a problem for me. Hey guys, that's monopoly.
Yeah. Right. That's why I don't play. I got your boardwalk. Yeah, brother or just all winds up
upside down on the floor because somebody gets mad and locks up. Well, I mean, I do love the
fact that you have continuous overtime for 20 minutes. That's why I love the NHL playoffs because

take beers away from angry hockey fans? No, we're just not going to we can't serve you another one
legally, but we're not going to close this bar to this game is over. And that's why I love because
you play until there's a winner. Yeah. That's why I love the shoot. Yeah, the shootout's just

I especially. Yeah, I mean, you go until it's done. And that's why I love the NHL playoffs every year

Star Wars celebration was his past weekend. And there was a young lady who was cosplaying
Jen Erso from Rogue One. And she was walking around to different people on the floor giving
away death star plans. But apparently there was a limit to it. She was handing out the death
star plans to every woman cosplaying his princess, Leah. Nice. That's different level.

picture of this so beautiful. I mean, she's like maybe seven, eight years old. The Jen Erso is.

you're fine. But we're, but we're nerds. So we have to talk about the trailer that was released
last week, which to me like when this happened and we talked about this in pre-show, one of my
co-workers just came to my desk and was like, Hey, have you seen it? And I was like,
seen what? He goes, the trailer's up. And I'm like, what trailer? He goes,
episode eight. And I'm like, excuse me. Like, there was no, Hey, this is about to happen.
Get your popcorn ready. It was just there. All of a sudden. And then with it was in 10 minutes,
it was just everywhere. Right. I mean, you were watching it as that happened live. Yeah, I do
live. Yeah, I was, I was keeping up with the panel because I knew they were like, I'm sorry,
doctor, I heard a loud pop and then nothing. And we were at the free fire screen tonight before you
heard my complaint. I was never bail. I was never bail. I was like, we've had four
billion trailers and one episode eight trailer. And then it just happened. And it was just,
again, people were like, somebody actually said to me, how can a teaser be a trailer? I said,
because it's still a trailer. It's just a teaser. And it was a teaser. And it's everything that I
wanted it to be. And it's keeping me motivated. I walker actually speak. Yes. And when he speaks,
it's so profound. And then he leaves that great ominous line at the end like, what excuse me?
I'm still I'm still throwing it out there because I really felt that
Kylo Ren was kind of a whiny bag in the first one. I think he kills
Snowpin. He becomes that like that's what gives him to the ultimate like evil guy. He
has to be because he's a spoiler. She got right. Oh, the theory. Oh, snow. He's a snow.
Are you smoking me? Come on. He's debunking a miffon line. He does want to be like his grandfather.
So whiny little bitch, you know, oh, hey, Darth Vader's a mega million mega villain. Yeah,
when he's in the man, as you know, Sam gets everywhere. He's irritating. Outside of his last line
and Rob one because I didn't think we needed the you should keep your head about you. Like, no,
that's not what you heard about. And it's not about Gibson. And he knows James Earl Jones getting older
and doing that voice. James Earl Jones will live forever. He will. He has to live forever because he's
James Earl Jones. Yes, of course. Speaking of Guardians, because it's coming out next week.
Did you see this with James Gunn said this week? He's already five post credit scenes in this film. Yeah,
I don't. What? He said there's five of them. It's a record. Now, when we get to screen it, will we see
all five? I'm not putting a lot of money on it. But he also said that he will return to write and
direct volume three, which he says will be the last one of the Guardians as you know them. Uh-oh.
Because there's been multiple versions of Guardians. Yeah, you know what that probably. No, I mean,
it doesn't really mean anything because it's one of those teams that rotates around. So you could
have other Guardians come in because you also have to think of when the Guardians of the Galaxy
were actually created was post infinity gauntlet. Yeah, that's true. And I don't know if you saw the
picture that they leaked out this morning from the filming of Infinity War. Um, I guess I guess
you could say spoiler alert and three, two, don't say the one. Uh, the picture that was that was sent
out via Twitter is of a vision in Scarlet Witch in their first embrace. So you are going to get
okay. So I wouldn't say that's really a spoiler as much, but it's there. Chris Pratt said that as well.

you remember American Gladiators
had that game called The Gauntlet,
where you would have to go to different stations
to get a weapon?
That's what the warehouse set up reminds you of,

They got the galah going on across the fair park a lot going on this weekend if you're in the Dallas Fort Worth area
Come down to fair park. There's gonna be a ton of people here
That's why it takes all of fair park to pull this together last year over 130,000 people came to this event
This is also the first year that they've been a film festival in conjunction with it
Part of it the tie-in was Tuesday night for born in China the brand new Disney nature film

We're a group in Los Angeles and global green is another group who's partnered on this at the gala this evening
They were one of the partners and for all of Earth Day and we work with them on projects for regenerative agriculture
Composting and other things and kiss the ground just finished

Giving the for the first time the comprehensive story of compost that gets everyone the chance to understand

How did you get involved just from the beginnings of it? Well first real quick. It's comp international compost awareness week is May 7th or 13th
That's why we're launching there's math there that I wasn't aware okay international compost awareness week May 7th through 13th
That's the whole week where the challenge is running so people are gonna be able to participate in the challenge so
But honestly my story of the soil thing is it starts with a dream and it's
Triggers me emotionally every time so I'm trying to get through this one
But about five years ago. I had a dream that I was an old old man
And I was about 90 years old and living in a refugee camp in Brazil
Because global climate change had just devastated most the planet killed a lot of humans off and my granddaughter
She wakes me up and she sneaks me under the fence
She found a hole in the fence and we walk for miles and miles and at the dawn approaches
She
Her and I go over the crest of this this hill and we see this city that out in front of us
Completely destroyed lays and ruined
And this granddaughter looks up at me and she's got tears streaming down her face and she's just like
Why didn't you do anything to stop this map? Wow
Which is like I was like so real and
It just it made me think that I've been a touring musician for my whole pretty much my whole adult life
And
You know, I've done a lot of activist work when I've been a participant, but it took it to the next level
And I was like
Can't really just pretend that didn't happen. Yeah, that's that's a message
I wasn't a dream sir. That was a message
And then about a year later my friend Ryle and who's one of the owners of cafe gratitude
Was in New Zealand heard about the soil thing was like this is too good to be true
And he brought this gentleman named Graham state who's a big he's one of the most prolific
Changers of super market supply chains of governments to regenerative agriculture and
Biological agriculture and he had him come through California
He was on his way to speak with the old corporation. He said stop in LA promise you it's gonna be a good idea
He spoke to us for four hours, and I've always been a so a science geek
Like a whole life and this guy's talking about things like micro eyes of fungi. I'm like, I know that I was with
I'm high school. I did a study with Cornell University on micro eyes of fungi and like so all this stuff's clicking in my head
And then that night it was like if this is all true
We can't not share this with the world
And so we hit the books and started making the calls all over the world and low and behold
About a year later we became a non-profit called kiss the ground
That was like dedicated the whole time to sharing this story because four years ago
You looked online you looked in the news and you looked at this the carbon soil connection was
Void and now we you know in the past four years
We've seen with other coalitions of groups working on this
It's now becoming a part a serious part of the global climate change discussion
with countries
All over the world
signing on to france is france is initiative for four p 1000 which is about building soil organic matter back
And california leading the charge with carbon farm plans and and having a healthy soils initiative
So it's been amazing to watch this idea that just hit us out of the blue and we kind of were like well
We can't not tell it and now it's it's being told and and we're helping still so

The amount of CO2 are putting up. We're already past 400 parts per million
And even if we halted everything today and and we didn't have a means of sequestering it
It'll be legacy carbon for the last the next 200 years
So that's the kind of thing that we're facing and this solution again like I thought it was too good to be true
But now that it's it's better than and we're connected with the international scene
Governments major scientists. It's it's all real and it's so exciting because you know when you like you put
Yourself on the line for something and you're like indeed you put yourself out there
It's like yeah, and it's been amazing to watch it all come back as like getting more and more momentum every day

But the definition of sustainable is able to be used without being completely used upper destroyed

But the concept of regenerative is a B conversation degenerative and and sustainable are are one in the in the same
A conversation
Regenerative is how life works we can farm we can live we can create our communities that are actually regenerating water cycle is regenerating soil
And actually working how life works instead of trying to swim upstream we turn around and swim downstream
It's going to be much better. We can actually have

A few months ago who works with C Shepherd in the UK
So I'm we're honored to have you here. You're as part of the festival go ahead and tell everybody what's what's been going on?
What's your promoting here at the festival?
Well, what we're promoting at the festival is a film that we did on called why just one and it's about
The threat to turtles in Latin America and Florida actually so what we do is we we have operation
Talk right into it so everybody here
So what we do is we deploy volunteers to these beaches in Honduras and Costa Rica and Colombia and Adam
What they do is a they patrol the beaches to keep the poachers away from the nests and to protect the turtles and when is the show film showing?
I believe it's shown tomorrow

Are you going to be there for a Q&A afterwards or okay? Yes, I'll be there for that
Actually, so how are you enjoying everything so far? I mean tonight was the gala so everybody was there and and dressed up a lot better than I am right now
Which is why we're over here. Well, I just arrived from LA and suddenly it was here
So yeah, it was it was a very interesting then silly or was there I'm always you know happy zero
Actually, it was with her about two weeks ago, so and tell everybody about the history of sea shepherd, please
Well, I establish sea shepherd exactly 40 years ago
1977 as an organization to intervene against poaching. It's an anti-poaching organization
So what we do is all over the world is we oppose illegal exploitations and
how many
Because I know there's different versions of it around the world. How many different countries are involved right now?
Well, sea shepherd is not an organization. It's more of a movement
So we're in 40 different countries around the world and they operate in cooperatively under the
umbrella of sea shepherd global, which is based in Amsterdam, but they're all separate entities and the reason for that is that
You know, it really is a form of protection
The Japanese came after me personally in 2012 to try and shut me down
and
So what they realize is that it's not me. It's not even the sea shepherd as the US as an organization
So they can stop me. They might even be able to stop an organization
But you can't stop moving
agreed and that movement has growing it's growing exponentially
I see more and more of it all the time whether I'm on social media or if I'm watching documentaries and things like that
How long did the documentary take to do?
Well, that was about a year and a half to do that particular film, but you know, we're doing quite a few other films too
And uh, we've had some we've been involved in films which have been like the code for instance with one the Academy of War
So yes, it's here with that
Sharkwater was another film that we were involved in was really changed the opinions of millions of people around the world about which the nature sharks
And of course we do our will watch television show or the will wars
And we've started a new one collusion warriors, which is going to be on discovery
So things are moving along nicely. I mean your your is this the debut of the film or how many times is the film shown before this week?
Is this the debut of the new film or has it been shown already I don't know if it's the actual debut but it's not been over at all
Where's it going from here?
I don't know I don't handle the films
You're just making sure they get shown and shown to the right audience and then you get to talk about it afterwards
It's showing tomorrow as part of the earth x film festival the very first you get to be part of the first one of these that Dallas has ever done
Describe how things have been for you since I know you just got off the plane

One of the most important campaigns we're doing right now
We have three ships in the sea of Cortez trying to protect the piquitas the piquitas the smallest and most endangered
Purpose on the planet there were 30 of them
Left when we started this campaign December we found three dead ones in the last month one fact one yesterday
And they're being killed because they're targeting the fish called the totoava, which is also endangered
And the bladder of the totoava fishes were $20,000 a kilo in China
So that puts a lot of motion motivation for these people to approach them
So what we've been doing is patrolling the area
locating the nets, confiscating the nets we've confiscated over 300 of them
And freeing a lot of the animals that are caught in there everything from from fish to
One humpback whale, which we were able to free from the nets
But a lot of a lot of animals are killed in them too including a great white shark and a lot of dolphins and sea lions and that
It's a very destructive thing and it's all being done just for this greedy
campaign to toto totoava bladders just so
It has no medicinal purpose in just in China
They seem to think that this is going to be the cure all and I'll
How anybody ever conceived that a bladder from a fish could be valuable for some medicinal purposes beyond me
But that's what we're dealing with

I actually came as part of the investor day yesterday. They had an e summit in which they were
Quite a few groups came from family offices and foundations to learn more about how we can get involved in helping contribute to moving some of these great ideas forward
What kind of ideas were were brought up that you guys were able to discuss?
A range of stages it kind of started from very early stage going through the story of Tesla
Which has obviously got some momentum behind its back now. It is great to see
I think that spectrum gives you
Good encouragement to see that a lot of these great ideas do get that spark. Yeah
They're even expanding even bigger. I was actually at the mall yesterday where they have a Tesla store
And they've got an entire display outside the store about ways of they're making homes more efficient

How it happened and what brought it to here? You know, it it actually
It just kind of happened itself. Okay. That's what I did. I am. I'm being honest with it
But you know what it was it was it was just bringing different folks together to have a conversation
And then other people noticed what was going on and they're like I want to be a part of that
And there's no way like today that you could get Rick Perry
To have a conversation with Sylvia Earl anywhere else but right here at Earth Day Texas
I mean that kind of stuff and this is just the beginning of the weekend
I mean tomorrow was when it gets real
We last year we we talked earlier on the show as we've been watching all the stats that have been coming across the tv
Over by where we are over 130,000 people came last year last year almost 400,000 over the last five years
I mean that's a big I mean you guys basically own fair park for about three days
And now this comes along with it
Which is really gonna probably even push that to a bigger
To build up film is so powerful as well. No, we had our opening night last night. We had chasing coral
Was screened and I was there at Sundance when it was screened and there was standing innovation. We had it last night
It's just so powerful. I mean anybody that's seen an environmental documentary
Understands what I'm saying and I think most of people have it's just so powerful
What's interesting about having the films here at Earth Day Texas with the Expo and the conference and all these things going on with all the people is that
You know when you get done with a film you're energized and you're excited
Maybe I can make a change or do something immediately and I can actually go find those people

Tangibly and have a conversation and figure out what I want to do
Whereas sometimes you know you'll go and you'll watch something on Netflix or whatever it is
And you're still at your house
But yeah, but it kind of wears off right because there's no like it would say that afterwards
There's nowhere to go with it where here you get to see a film and then
Your smack dab need deep in the hoopla because with over
230 different speakers this weekend if I saw that correctly
There I mean when I say they take over fair park they take over fair park
I mean this is a huge facility that's going to be chock full of
vendors people that you can talk to and find other ways to get involved and then with film
We also have the VR components as well, but you're absolutely right. You can you can actually see a film here and say the
The world wildlife federation is a sponsor of that
Then you can actually go to that exhibit and have a conversation with those people just like I was saying earlier
I mean, it's I don't know another place. It does it the way we do it. That's why we're the biggest in the world
And we'll take it all day long
Talk about I mean like last year over 130,000 people came last year
Talk about some of the highlights for you like what are the exhibits that are maybe new this year
That you think this is like this is the thing everybody needs to come to see
So I'm originally from California right went to school Santa Barbara. I'm a master diver
I did all that stuff in the ocean. This is the first year that I'm aware of in Dallas, Texas. You can actually scuba dive
Right here really right here. There was a time when you did sir
Yes, there is yeah, the dive equipment manufacturers association has a good dive now pool
20 foot by 30 foot and there was a line out there today
The people just experienced you scuba for the first time. That's awesome
You know, and there were some toy sharks and stuff and they're just fun, you know
And you weren't playing the jaws theme though, were you okay as long as we're I don't think it's scared anybody
But it was so nice to see. I mean that's what's all about the education
You know, how can you get people involved immediately and to me it's through experience
And if you can actually have someone physically do something like we can here for almost five days
From when the conferences started to win the
There's because we're a Friday through Sunday event open to general public if you can actually have that happen
I mean, it's a huge win for everybody and it's

So it doesn't don't worry about breaking the bank because you're gonna come here

I just spent an entire weekend surrounded my Legos my my niece turned seven this coming weekend
And so we went to the discovery center last weekend and
What better way to spend a Saturday right before Easter than with

But it could be worse. They could be making you walk over Legos in the dark
You know, but they did have a guy that's got like a Lego vacuum in my brother and I was like how can I get one of those?

You're so right and pretty much every building here is going to have something in it. There are

You've got a 3d film that's playing all weekend if I'm not mistaken. Yes. Yes. Yes, and I don't I don't know which one it is

We just had this event tonight at the Texas Discovery Garden
That's we we will under wrote for that to be open to the general public for free for three days
So that's butterfly house that's coming out and getting experience being enriched in that kind of stuff and
And then the other initiative we have is with the ocean. So the ABCs

The very first doubts environmental film festival. It looks like things are are going very swimmingly

You know, I look at dress that because a lot of people have asked me that a Dave Scott friend of the show last week

When we do these live shows because when we're in studio
It's a lot different because we're focused on the task at hand and we know where things are going when we're doing film festivals
I tend to do most of the talking because you're on the one that's updating our social media
Yeah, there's there's a lot to do that and to the show for multiple reasons
Because sometimes I need to figure out where in some when the show something happened
And instead of having to go back through the whole show
I just follow what you've done on our timeline so I say okay was right about that point and I can cue that up in the show
Because we've had directors and producers and things like ask us to isolate their sections of the shows when we do these interviews
And what you're doing is just as important because it's I don't have to sift through everything and try to remember where everything was
It's sometimes it's hard because at a lot of times these people will just sit down and just say who they are
But I don't know exactly how their name is spelled. Sometimes they don't have a Facebook presence and sometimes it's just their film that they're promoting
I want to give them all the credit in the world that they are due
but
You know, sometimes they've got their Facebook profile set to private and you just can't find it
But you know, I want to give them as much exposure as we possibly can because it's a great thing that they're doing
It's a great thing they're doing for us and we definitely want to return to the face. Absolutely
We love the thing coming sit down with us by the way when I said about this event brochure
This thing is about probably the size of like your parade magazine in the Sunday papers from a from a page standpoint
But this is almost a hundred pages long. Yeah, it feels it's it's got the it's got the thickness of like a

I played a little place called Sundance earlier this year, but also opens the very first
Earth X film festival welcome to the show. Thank you. How did last night go?
It was fantastic
This is just an awesome opportunity for us. It's one of the largest Earth Day festivals in the world
The largest it is the biggest one in the world
The largest Earth Day festival in the world
So what an honor for for our film and for the story of coral reefs to to get out to the public
So we're truly honored to be here. So the for people that don't know about the film tell them about the film
Yeah, so it's truly an adventure film
So we frame this as you know a group of scientists scuba divers
Just ocean enthusiasts traveling around the world and trying to capture our changing oceans in a way that would be powerful
But it is a way for us to show the magic of this ecosystem and
It's truly an adventure film and and we just want to share the story of the magic the beauty of these places
And how they're changing and why that's important to us. How long did it take you to film it?
Yes, it took about three and a half years from
Beginning to end and it was quite a journey as Zach said
We had people from all around the world submitting their images as well as traveling to different countries
We visited a number of different countries and states for continents. They spent over 600 hours underwater filming
So it was really a labor of love and a global community that came together to make this project. What brought you to it?
So actually one of the other subjects of the film Richard contacted us out of the blue
He had seen the director's previous film chasing ice and basically said
I think you should really check out what's happening in the oceans because you'll be very surprised
And we were it was this really unbelievable mystery of of these corals turning white and nobody really knew what was going on
Yeah, that's been very topical lately with a lot it's been the great barrier we've been making news over and over and over again
Well the grapefruit has been at the forefront
All right, I mean when you think coral that's pretty much the first place
The crown jewel that's um if you're a diver that's what you dream of for your entire life is let's get to the grapefruit
That's my Valhalla. I mean, I'm a certified diver myself. I haven't I haven't dove in 30 years
But that's one place I've always been founded a journey to go here magic and um to see the degradation that has happened in that ecosystem in particular
It's heartbreaking. It can be really difficult
Especially if you're on the ground and for our viewers. It's heartbreaking for me. It was just absolutely
The hardest thing I've ever gone to but at the same time it's it's worth every moment because I get the opportunity to share that story
With everyone
So was this the second showing of it or has it showed between Sundance and now it's showed it a couple of other festivals
We were really fortunate actually Netflix is our distributor and so it's going to launch on Netflix later this year
But previously we've had a couple of great screenings. We screened that south by we got to screen at the San Francisco International Film Festival
But a number of other festivals that we feel have just been wonderfully
Accepting of the film and and the crew as well
So last night. I'm sure a packed house. There's no doubt in my mind. I mean, it's the first thing of the first thing
So I'm sure there was how did the Q&A go afterwards? The Q&A was really good. So they're always a little bit different
But it's awesome to be like an earth-minded film festival. So obviously the questions were
really
Science oriented. They were impact oriented and it's just a pleasure to have that conversation with people that understand the issue that
Can kind of bring something to the table and create this conversation that can be really powerful
Be really impactful and kind of swing the door open to a beautiful event that you guys are hosting here in Dallas
We really are excited. I mean, this is when we found out that we're actually going to do a film festival in conjunction with Earth Day Texas this year
We were just like all right
Let's do this thing and it's already like we've seen people coming in and out the gala was tonight. How did that go?
It was wonderful. There are some amazing people that were awarded for their wonderful efforts that they've done in the past
And I think for us it just it opens your eyes to this community a lot of people have misconceptions
I think about Texas and about the kind of people that are here and they're believed I did before I moved here
So
So I haven't had chance to look at the schedule. Is it screening again this weekend and when it is it is screening tomorrow
Saturday at 12 30 p.m. At the music hall in Fair Park. Oh, they're showing us the music hall sir
Come join us. It is a beautiful room. It's a gorgeous. Absolutely. It's now

The series is 77 years old building is 77 years old. I don't know
But it's it's you can feel the history. Yeah, yeah, it's a spectacular. They have a beautiful screen. It seats huge audience
I guess a couple of years ago race and extinction premiered there for the festival as well. So
It it just has this wonderful history of incredible filmmakers and I think we're just really excited to be part of that
Are is that is it only showing tomorrow? Is there going to be a showing so tomorrow is the only other showing in the film
Will there be a Q&A for that one as well? There will be and there will be some special guests like mr
Zachary Ray go so come and show up and I think you'll be surprised by the film itself as I'm not just your typical climate film
Do you still?
You know you've seen this a bunch of times by this point
Do you still like to sit there and watch the whole thing through with the because every audience is different every situation is different or is it more of
You know, I'm gonna watch a little bit then I need to go take care of this and then I can come back
Yeah, I actually end up watching it pretty frequently and every now that I say oh, you know
I've seen it 40 times or whatever it is and I should I need to walk away and
Every time I'm at a new festival. I feel interested to sit there with the audience and engage with them and
Hear what they're laughing at what what what what moments are becoming emotional and that means a lot to me
Just to see how this work and this labor of love for three and a half years is kind of being absorbed by an audience. I tend to to watch it
And I actually really enjoy that it's fun to
See what we've done and how people react to it live and and in there instead of just showing up at the Q&A and answering questions
Do you have those moments where you're watching it with an audience and you go?
They might have missed that beat or
Okay, they got that one but because they got one then they missed this one. No, not really
I think they're definitely for me like on a personal note
There's there's always going to be moments like I find funny from behind the scenes perspective
I laugh a little bit about that maybe the audience doesn't grasp but for the most part
There are the cliche portions of the film that you're always going to get some giggles or you're going to get an all-out laugh from from the audience but
There really is a little diverse. There really is a little bit different
But I don't think there's any areas where I wish I was getting a laugh or wish I wasn't
That's a little awkward. I think sometimes that's a good thing. Yeah, we don't see much of that
So you said you're getting distributed by Netflix later this year
Because since that has happened do you feel like you've exhaled a little bit or are you still just kind of we need to get to that finish line?
Yeah, I think we're just really excited and I think they're still this is just the beginning
I think for us honestly a lot of people look at the film and say okay great. It's done. It goes out there
But for us this is our moment in time where we can now bring people together for the film bring a conversation together
And start actually making some change and some difference and I think for us

And that the team that she is building is really going to be going out into the community to really figure out, you know
Where do we need to go and how do we then make a change and a call to action that fits that community and that bridges

And we're organizing the historic first race of zeppelin's and airships to circle the planet. Oh wow
gentlemen, that's awesome. I can't follow that
Thanks, you're the puffer between them. I didn't know what I was getting into here
Yeah, I'm Jeremy McCain and I'm the director of Ridge Sharif
Which is going to be showing tomorrow at 330 at the African American Museum
So Dr. Mike North everyone calls me Doc and I'm working with Jeremy on Ridge Sharif
And also have my own blog called experimental gentleman we can find out about all my other TV shares
Okay, so we've got two different things going ahead at the same time
So I'm gonna juggle a little bit to make sure everybody gets to talk sir go ahead and for the first
Zeppelin race around the world together
Indeed and what we have is we are starting on the Greenwich Prime Meridian in front of the atomic clock
We're all time on earth to synchronize that is our starting point of the race
We go around the entire earth
We finish on the French Prime Meridian by landing in the gardens of our Si Palace
In between we are flying over places like the Roman Colosseum
We get to land at the Great Pyramids fly over Petra the Taj Mahal the Twin Towers in Malaysia
Now Fujiamma the Golden Gate Bridge the Statue of Liberty we do come here to Texas
I will say that all right good good and then we finish by landing as I said in the gardens of our Si Palace
How long is that going to take well and how many Zeppelin's are involved in a perfect world
We could do this race in about 24 days. Okay, it's around the world in 180
And there's about 35 airships in the world. There's 17 races individually that when you put them back to back
They go around the entire earth
And so we're looking at those 35 airships in the world
We've designed this race such that each and every one of them will have the opportunity to participate in the least one race or more
Wow
What's the hardest part of the race? Yeah, hardest part of the race is going to be
I love it when our guests interview each other because it makes my job
It's going to be New York to Lisbon and the Portuguese Navy has already contributed to us
The Vasco de Gama and another one of the F330 series
They have helicopter decks. They're going to be stationed in the Mid-Atlantic
Should we have a headwind we will need them to stop to refuel
If we have a tailwind we're going to be sailing right on by
And that I guess that brings up the next question
Are there going to be refuel stations?
There's going to be the kind of deal where you'll have other airships come up to refuel them
There's a roughly
65 airfields around the earth that we're going to be stopping at to refuel fill up the gasoline tanks
And we're planning on these being stops like an marathon a lot of entertainment a lot of fun
And a lot of people are going to come out and want to participate in just watching the airships come to their town
They're places in the world
They're village
Well gentlemen, let's talk about your film for a minute playing tomorrow. Tell us about the film
No, I want to keep talking about it
But you know what? We'll make that work too. Whatever you guys want to do. That's what I roll with
Yeah, so you know it started a couple years ago
I'm an artist by trade and I was creating a neurofeedback
Art installation that people would control with their minds
And so my message was is that if I could actually show you the damage that was being done to the oceans
But gave you the power to think differently to show that that a different outcome was possible
Then that was kind of what we had hoped for but in that process we learned that there are a lot of very direct things that
We learned that we couldn't put in an art form
So we decided to use the media as far as film is concerned because we could actually you know to construct the message in a very different way
And but so we're we're going around the planet
We're documenting what's wrong with the oceans
How technology can help maybe alleviate some of these issues but more importantly using ancient wisdom from some of the indigenous cultures around the world
And say how do you protect the earth for thousands of years and maybe we can use some of that to
into
Apply to you know modern society first world
Cities how long did it take you to make the film?
Well, it's a docky series. So it's an ongoing thing
So it's literally like peeling an onion
So I started on the plastic kick and and then overfishing and shark finning and all these things just started to kind of come out
So we really want to try to attach to all the different issues that are facing the oceans because we feel like if we just
Focus on one little thing. I mean it doesn't really do justice to really the damage that we're doing to the planet
Do you have an idea of how long you want it to go or is it just going to go until you feel like you covered everything?
I mean, I would love to be able to say that we could cover it in a finite period of time
But what I've actually learned I've been humbled every step of the way it said that you know the further I go in this project the less that I actually know
But that's a good thing. It's a great thing, but at the same time. It's like well, where are we going with this?
You know, but it's actually a it's been a it's a very educational thing for me and I think for a lot of us
I mean dock here is kind of like I don't know
He's the guy that that that likes to break things and blow things up and explain how the technology component can work
And I mean I really like having his kind of flair to to the show because I think I think that
You know, we don't necessarily think about technology and then curving
Maybe the the paradigm shift in a different way and I think I think he can bring that to the table
And so dock from your standpoint
At this point because it is an ongoing thing
What's the one thing that you can point you right here right now and go that's the thing that melted my brain in this process
I mean, you're a doctor. So I mean not a lot's been surprised you
But I'm interested from your point of view for somebody that's got that educational background and has been working on these things
What was what's one thing that you can point you just when I say the words
Melted your brain. What's the first instance that comes to mind
So when we
Internet came about we
greatly accelerated our ability as humans to share information and create basically a bit of a hive mind
But it's a slow process. I have to communicate with you
You communicate with someone else maybe have put on the web maybe like 5,000 people read one of my posts, right?
I was in a research lab in Zurich with the robot and I was doing a whole piece on it and
He's like oh yeah, and then we'll put this on the the internet of robots and I'm like
What's that?
When this robot learns something what it does is it uploads what it learns to this internet and then a robot in Italy
Downloads that and can perform the exact same thing and they're different robots
But learn the same lessons from it. I'm like, that's kind of crazy
It's like yeah, but the crazy thing is when one robot uploads it every robot in the world instantly knows it
So it's that you take how fast the internet is accelerated our knowledge what we've been able to do with it
If you take that and you make it instantaneous across all robots
It's it's it's it becomes symbiotic kind of thing. Yeah, it's kind of
Don't say that
That's the first thing that comes to mind because that's what's now been ingrained in us
But the fact that technology we call that Tesla. Yeah
Interesting time to maybe something we're gonna have a little bit later as well
But you know the thing with our our series is it'll it'll never be done because this is not a static situation that we're covering
This is this is a constantly emerging situation
And because it's a situation that not only is nature which is evolving
But it's now our influence on it and so we you already have the natural world that's existing
Right, but now we're bringing in this massive technological world that's existing
And it's really that the interplay between the technological the natural and the human influence on the two of those
And so this is this new territory. It's completely undiscovered
You know there are no new worlds go and discover
But there's this world to discover and the beautiful thing is in discovering it
We shine a light on it so the people can have an idea of how they can have an impact on the planet that we live on
So that becomes a better world and not a degenerative world and you talk about that
Metaphorical onion. I mean how do you how do you corral that when you open one thing?
You're like, oh, but that does this but oh, but it also does this and then there's this and there
How do you corral that so you can still stay on task?
But you still have this other thing over here that you really want to get to but I got to get this done first
Well, the thing is if you strategically put just a little bit of c4 in the middle of the onion
You don't have to peel it the man makes a fantastic form that the logic is sound. I can't debate that
No, I think to your point. I think what's you know what we typically would try to do is we
You know, we we make smaller little segments, which is kind of what we've done originally
We were asked to be able to do some stuff for in-flight entertainment. I thought oh, this is great distribution, right?
Because I have a captive audience. They can't change the channel. They can't leave that going anywhere
So maybe we should team up with this guy
You know show them on the Zeppelin race
That's how we got something. Yes, yes
I have a speaking of symbionics. I can make I can make a hundred and any day show
And you want to talk about a captive audience what I'm looking at and what I'm hearing is how you're connected
How you're bringing that interest and that enthusiasm in
That allows that kaleidoscope, which is what we're all apart of
And how it's going to change as a result of that interaction from let's say the next generation to whom you are talking to
And so I was going to ask you how you generate your content. I'm hearing it and in so hearing it
I'm watching effectiveness
You know, that's that's the thing in science is as soon as you observe some sort of reaction
You're actually influencing it
So let's observe the out of this reaction and observe it in a way that we influence in a positive manner
I've always thought about you do experimenting talk right into the microphones. You're not drifting to the side of it
I've always got the experimentation
Is something that you do in the real world
It's not necessarily a controlled experiment because there's so many variables to that experiment to which you never control
You're simply observing how you change to certain degree of conditions and so
It is in that process of learning
Because you're never going to have a complete answer to any of your experiments
It is that process that allows us to evolve and so that is what you're encouraging
In this next generation
The ones that are listening the ones that are
Being challenged by let's say c4 and other things
That's that's going to get their interest and when you do
They're going to pay attention and they're going to see what those variables are and so I applaud what you're doing
Yeah, you know, I come from a research science background and you know
I'd love because it's just such a sterile environment
You know these laboratory conditions and it was all about politics and raising money and it lost
Like the adventure and the excitement of discovery and that was so much of what science was built on you know
Before they were called scientists. They were called experimental gentleman
And these were people with resources that were going out and doing they's really just tremendous experiments to discover things and going on
Voyages and adventures and I want to bring back that sense of adventure for the younger generation
So they get excited about it and they don't sit home apathetically watching television
But they actually want to go out and they want to do something about it
You know, and that's that's where we have the symbiosis and that is
My goal with my rights is to get kids to go outside and look at their horizons and realize that beyond their
Horizon is somebody that they're already connected to and in that connection
We give them a reason to do something that they do not do routinely. Let's go outside and look up
And we come from a generation is that's what you did. I mean I grew up in South Florida. So
When this shuttle became a thing
You know from where I was you could see the launch and it was actually an event in school
We'd watch the launch on TV and then the entire school would run outside
So we could see the vapor trail as it went and I just don't know that we do enough of that anymore
Yes, it looks great on YouTube
But go see it for real
Feel it and with what you guys are doing. I mean, I can't even I'm trying to fathom
A hundred airships flying through my town
If I were a teacher I would shut the building down. This is what we're doing today
And let's talk about how these things happen and what makes them do what they do and and like he said with you guys
You're fostering that next generation of of that thirst for knowledge like we know in lot
But there's so much more that we don't
Yeah, in fact, that's one of the things that I often say is that you know, we
95% of our oceans have not been discovered and you know, that's amazing to me
Yeah, I mean, we know more about space than we do our oceans. That's crazy. Below is my mind
That's crazy. You think about to you like
They started deep sea mining now they because they found magnesium nodules in very places
So now we're we're deep sea mining in areas where we've not discovered you know, what's down there
So we we are highest probability to find you know, cures for cancer and other kinds of these diseases exist in the ocean and we don't even know what we're killing
Marcus Rhyman who's just landed who's not here with us today, but he'll be here tomorrow
His team discovered the first biophluorescent turtle last year in the Solomon Islands
And I think I said something on Yahoo about that. Yeah, and we're gonna show that tomorrow at 330
But you know that you think about that like okay, so think about how much how much technology we have how much we know
And we're just discovering something but the real question is is how long do we have on the planet to be able to continue to study these animals
And what other animals are being killed that we don't even know because of our actions
Wow the ultimate ripple effect. Yeah
All right, we want to make sure make sure you guys go into where the party because there's not a lot of the night left

One Saturday morning and I kept hearing what sounded like a flame throw are going off
I ran out to my backyard and there's 18 hot air balloons flying over my freaking house
And kind of find out they had flown from the local mall to the park right behind my neighborhood
And it became a thing every year
I can't imagine what going from something like a hot air balloon festival to something like this
Well, you've got it right uh a
Flotilla of of Zeppelin's flying over your city Don and Daniel Duret both joining us back down the center
We're talking about
You know we dropped a Moab somewhere in here. I do not want any like Zeppelin's dropping Moab's point
He did he come in at the bar part of the conversation
Well, uh, sorry, do you have any trips? I went back and forth on that in my car because you're doing work brother
Yeah, I know I did my car. Oh, my car's outside there
You think I get people to walk well and that shows you the enormity of this festival
Because and it also shows you the level of Don's commitment to
Like when we were last year Don was running up and down the stairs from the red carpet to the to the lounge
This thing is so far away Don
We drove guests here. Yeah, my compass. It's sitting outside right there and we're getting ready to wrap this thing up
I drink a beer the lounge closes in a half an hour
We get another beer for this one

Guys you've pulled me over here when I had to go get him
He pulled you over close up there. Hey, it wasn't so much. He helped me out tonight trying to find people
Daniel has been such a great friend of the show for
