And a man that I honestly believe if he is ever marooned in Ireland.
I think he'd be okay.
You may know him is Don 4, but his mom and him actually.
You may know him is fun.
I can't even get this right today.
You may know him is fun.

I'm going to call him Don 4.

I would never be alone because first up I have my imaginary friend,
Rufus.
Plus I have me myself and I, so that it'd be for you.
You could be worse, your imaginary friend could be Ralphus.
Yeah.
But he wouldn't be able to protect you from anything because there's nobody down in
Marooned Island for him to protect you from.
But whatever we do one of these, it is to review something.
This is no exception.
We are here to review for you a brand new animated film called The Wild Light.
Before we start this whole thing.
We got to think Austin, Julie, everybody at Slime Fox.
Do it.
It's an hour 30.
It's rated PG which I thought was a little auspicious.
This is a CGI animated film.
The voice cast I don't recognize anybody in it.
But we can go ahead and run it down for you.
Just in case.
This is actually a Belgian film.
Really?
Yes.
It was done in Belgium.
It's released by studio canal.
So your English version, you're a low-enthall.
David Howard, George Babbit, Laliah Burzans, Joey Cayman.
Jeff Doots.
And Jeff Doots.
That's name.
I actually recognize you're a low-enthall too.
But just really, I don't know.
A lot of people who never heard of.
Jeff Doots that was on the Desperate Housewives.
We know that.
Never saw an episode.
Um, you're a low-enthall.
You would know him.
Uh, let's see.
Um, he voices Ben on Ben 10.
Okay.
He's also done some video game work as well.
Um.
Here's what you need to know.
Okay.
This is the story of Robinson Crusoe.
That guy told by a parrot.
Who's depending on who you are.
He could either be Mac or Tuesday.
That's what you got.
Um.
This was a thing.
Yes.
I've let me say this.
I can tell you this.
Reading on the Wikipedia page that this was designed for 3D.
Absolutely makes sense.
Because there are, we did not see it in 3D.
But there were moments in this.
And for me, I was like, that would have been a cool 3D effect.
That would have been a cool 3D effect.
So now knowing that it was done in 3D in Belgium.
It makes more sense to me.
But I'm sorry.
Go ahead, sir.
As you can say, one good thing about this film.
I love the animation.
Look beautiful.
Look.
Look.
It was gorgeous.
It was gorgeous.
Nothing was real.
Herkey jerky.
Like everything was very fluid.
The ocean waves look beautiful.
It's right.
Yes.
The sound production was really well done.
I thought the voice cast was really, really good.
If you notice, we're kind of dancing around something here.
I will say this.
No musical numbers.
I, you're right.
No musical numbers in this.
You're right.
And keep in mind, we just got to leaving the screen.
Yeah.
I've got 30, 45 minutes.
Yeah.
This is one of the very rare occasions that we were able to do our presentation.
Right after a screening.
This is fresh.
Right in our minds.
Oh.
It was a thing.
I just, I couldn't get into this.
I really honestly could not.
Now I will tell you.
From the watch meter.
Oh, no.
The first time I looked at my watch.
Okay.
We were 20 minutes in.
That's not a bad thing.
We were the thing.
So, you know, grading on a curve.
You're doing okay.
But I will say this being a family film.
Seeing it early morning on a Saturday.
A lot of kids in the theater.
It was a very full screening as.
All this, everything fly,
Sly Fox does does because they're awesome.
Not a lot of fidgety kids in the theater.
So I kept their attention.
And I'll say this on that note that behind us was a bunch of little kids.
And before the film, they're getting all rowdy and stuff.
But as they get, oh, no.
This is going to get funky during the day.
No.
They still don't pay.
They still don't pay.
They still don't pay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Basically, it starts out after Robinson's found on the island by a group of pirates.
And so then they tell the story and flashback.
And then they have the resolution after that.
There you go.
Man, I could not get into this.
I could not either.
I just, there were moments that I was like.
I can see where you're going with this.
But we're not getting there.
And I also have to think of it as a fact of I'm not the people that movies made for.
And when we get closer to the final analysis, I figured it out.
I have figured out what this movie is.
But I don't want to, I don't want to say bury the lead a little bit.
We're going to talk about when we get to the final analysis.
But this was just a thing for me.
The pot was really kind of.
It was kind of homologing.
It was, I think it could have been maybe a 45 minute short.
Yeah.
Honestly.
And extended long extended short along short, whatever.
But when it came to the pot, I'd like you.
I couldn't get into it because it was just a two kind of coin.
You know, let's feel, try to be, they try to push the feel good.
Everything's perfect.
Everything's lovely.
All that stuff.
Except when it's not.
And it's perfect.
Except when it isn't.
And which other films which was we have seen.
And there's been documented like one film that's going to be on my top ten of the year.
That we talked about on the way out.
It's going to be, that was made for the whole family.
This was not made for the adults.
This is more like the adults have to watch it for the kids.
And adult really cannot get into this film and have a fun time with it.
Also, which is a mistake.
I think I can see a video game tie into this.
Oh, Lord, no.
Like a kids video game.
Yeah.
I could see that happening.
I don't see a lot of merch flying off the show.
That's for this one.
I just, it, okay.
I said this after the film.
It got so bad for me on the plot and not getting into this and just getting so unrealistic.
I mean cartoons, you know, there's the film that will style of,
it's not real and then stuff, but there has to be a base of reality.
This got pretty unbasic where, let's say the cats.
Okay, minor spoiler three, two.
Don't say the one.
Okay.
The cats are evil.
And there's times where the cats attack Robinson Crusoe.
And it's like, well, and that's got to be where the PG comes from.
I mean, but it's just like in real life, give me a break.
I mean, it's so unrealistic.
I mean, in cartoons, there's a little bit of a really unreality.
Have you lived with the two cats in this?
But how many times have both them jumped on you and tried to claw you down and tackle you and everything else under the sun?
Let's give me a nod together.
But you get the point where, okay.
But my thing is, how you say in stupid boat movie,
can we, you're rooting for the boat the same?
I've said it many times.
I, I, at this, by the end of the film was saying,
please, cats just get praying for the sweet release of the uncredits.
Yeah.
I mean, I was rooting for the cats to get some of these characters because it bugged me so bad.
I, it never got that bad for me.
It did for me.
I was rooting for the cats at one point.
But boy, there were moments where I was like, where's the chase and how can we cut to it?
But, but again, we're not, they like, they didn't make it for a couple of 40 something guys.
I understand.
You know, but parents have to sit through this probably.
Yeah.
Well, I, I guarantee you there are parents out there that are going to go brother of set through
worse.
Yeah.
But it can get into it.
I, I couldn't either.
And, and what a big influence on what my finalist is going to be.
Uh-huh.
Is something where I don't know if you saw during the film, but after this thing happened,
I did that, you know what I get uncomfortable during a screening.
You know what I do?
I did hear you groan at a certain point.
I just remember what it was.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, I heard it.
I remember where it was.
Okay.
To the studios.
Let me say this very politically correct.
Donna's his focus.
He's biting his lip.
He's holding his imaginary pet in his hand.
Children will watch this film.
And I know they put a little subtext in between.
But that a lot of times they often imitate what they see on the film.
And, okay, I know you're talking about now.
And when a parent looks up the barrel of a loaded gun about three times.
And it's including live guns and ammo.
Not smart.
But to counter that, they do actually say the words, do not try this in real fast.
But my kids are still right.
No, I'm not sure.
Yeah.
That was so not on call for in this film.
They could have come.
No, you're saying it wasn't call for.
It was not not on call.
It was not needed.
It was not needed.
They did not have to do that.
The film was already already.
I see maybe why they did it.
But it was stupid.
You're responsible.
And I hated it.
There were a couple of moments that I chuckled.
And I'll fully admit that.
Because I'm a big fan of the road runner cartoons.
Oh, yeah.
And there were a couple of runner wildly coyote moments.
I think it made me chuckle a little bit.
But again, we're not who they made this movie for.
I understand that.
But I just saw peer response.
Having said all that, we could probably go straight to the final analysis.
Because the final analysis is where I'm going to tell you the moment of clarity that I had.
Okay.
Okay.
Here's how we do the final analysis on this show.
We're not going to give you thumbs up thumbs down.
We're not going to give you any other kind of way.
We have our own reading system.
It's consists of two questions.
Question number one is maybe you see this film again.
The answer is no.
Then we're done here.
The answer is yes.
Then we have a spectrum that we use of of how good.
You can tell how good we thought a film was by how far we're going to go to see it again.
From best to worse, it goes as follows.
Full price at the theater.
Twilight.
Matt and A. Early morning.
Second one at the dollar theater.
Red box.
Netflix cable.
All right. Everybody with me.
Okay.
Dawn, would you see this film again?
No.
The answer is no from Dawn.
So we're done.
I'll give him this.
It doesn't get the root canal.
Okay.
It doesn't get that.
But still.
Not the worst film you've seen this.
No.
I would not see this film again.
However.
I have a lot of friends that have kids.
Understand.
And there's this thing that is very effective.
Especially when you have little ones.
Where I've seen where some friends of mine.
Because they could sick of watching the same.
Like, you can only watch bubble guppy so many times.
You can only watch Peppa Pig for so long where you got to find something different.
So I have friends in what they've done.
Is they set up a queue in their Netflix.
For a kind of off the beaten path animated films.
That will keep the little ones occupied.
And not so squirrely.
And I think that's where this film is going to find its niche.
It's going to find its niche on Blue Ray.
For someone for the kids to watch.
That's, you know.
It's not the same thing all the time.
Or something you queue up in your Netflix.
So the kids can see something different.
That's where I think the niche of this film is going to be theatrically.
I don't even, I can't even give you an over under.
I don't think it's going to be a theatrical thing.
It's going to find its life on things like Netflix and on things like Blue Ray.
Because there were, I mean, the kids paid attention.
Yeah.
We can't say they didn't.
So there's something to that.
It just wasn't for us.
Maybe sitting film.
It is called The Wild Life.
By the time you hear this, it will be available for you check out.
