You may know on this fun, Don Go, but his mom and name, I'm Don Ford, and I'm going to call him Don Ford welcome, sir.

Yeah.
I admit it though.
Oh well.
Every time we do, and iTunes, it's a little scary.
Let's review something.
And this particular episode is no exception.
Recently, Don got to see a little comedy show as the kids like to say.
So he's, I'm going to be just kind of feeding him questions.
He's going to drive this particular episode.
So, Don, tell our audience all about it.
Okay.
I, last night, got to have the experience of going to the AT&T Opera Winspir Opera House.
What a beautiful, beautiful, silly.
First off, before I begin this, I have to thank everybody at the Winspir Opera House, AT&T,
Lexus, let me park there for free, and also to, of course, Cindy Evans.
We love Cindy.
Cindy, thank you so much for, let me go to this event.
It was very, very good time.
Well, for those who don't know, there might be a little TV show out there.
You might have heard that called Last Comic Stand.
I am a fan.
Okay.
Very much executive produced by the great Jay Moore.
Okay.
What they do is, you know, it's the contest where they get the best comic when
comes down to it.
You know, a competition, and that, and the format of that show has kind of changed over
the years.
Yeah.
Quite a bit.
Well, what they do is they take the winner and then the top other four, top four competitors
besides the winner.
So basically, the top five.
Okay.
And they take them on a tour around the country where I guess the all five of the five
top five finalists, including the winners.
Okay.
And each of them gets about a 20 minute little, you know, routine come out and do their
bet for about 20 minutes.
Okay.
They get 20 minutes to do a bit for 20 minutes.
Well, no, they get 20 minutes.
They get 20 minutes.
They get do routine for about 20 minutes.
Okay.
They're about 20 minutes.
Give her tape.
And so you need to have five routines during this, during the event.
Now, this is a traveling, traveling event.
So if it comes to your area for self, I'm going to say, check it out.
Okay.
Kind of bury in the lead.
I'll go more detail, but it is going around the country.
So just keep it, let me say this.
Keep an eye out for it.
It comes to your area.
Okay.
Okay.
So basically, they do two of the performers, and then they take usually intermission,
about 20, 20, 30 minute intermission, then the other three comedians come out and finish
their bet.
Okay.
Was there a host for this?
No.
There was no real MC.
Yeah, I thought me, the first person come out, the top five finalists will come out
and do his bet and be the MC for the rest of the night.
There was just some guy you never saw over the PA.
So there was just like a, yeah, this kind of loud guy go, yeah, this is a body voice.
I'm coming out.
Yeah.
Please, well, get what up, kids for, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
All right.
So there were five great competitors, you know, get me each one in the little detail.
All right.
Please do.
Of course, they had the winner, Rod Man.
Did he, did he, he started, or did he, he was a last guy?
Okay, because you're winner, okay, what do you want to say?
Yeah.
It started with Lechon Patterson and then it went to Nicky Card.
Well, let's take him one at a time.
Well, I will do the list and I'll go more detail.
But, okay.
Okay.
But, Lechon Patterson, then it went to Nicky Card, then he had the break.
Then the count came out with a rocky report, the port and then rocky report.
I didn't hear anything.
Yeah.
And then Joe Manchi and then the finished with Rod Man.
Let me start with Lechon Patterson.
Okay, because I'm going to look these people up while you're talking about that.
Yeah.
Because I am a kind of sewer.
How does that the Empire wants to do?
Yeah.
LACH LA and then Patterson.
He's kind of like a Dean Cook looking kind of guy, generally.
You know, you know, now I've had a war in the Empire.
There is usually this is for adults.
Absolutely not for the teens and all that.
And I know we try to be family from the end of the show, but there's, I'll try to keep
this very, very clean.
No cursing and all that, but, you know, this is adult comedy, so they're, you know, I'm
going to try to do this.
It's politically correct when describing the accent, everything.
So starts off with Joe.
He said Lechon Patterson.
He said Lechon Patterson.
How about this?
He started off.
He started off with a kind of a long running joke and they had hit you at the big
backbone and had the crowd going, going from that point on.
Now a lot of the jokes were, after that point, after the big, long, draw joke were kind
of just quick little jokes here or there.
Just talking about just life in general to say, to be, to give you an idea, just basically
life in general stuff.
Okay.
I thought his look was good, the flow was good.
Just your basic kind of normal standup comic kind of guy, okay, got kind of a, he was
funny.
He's kind of a pretty looked.
Yeah, you know, just kind of does a joke here, keeps it flowing, you know, just, you,
if you had the little average comic guy, he would be the one out of the whole group.
Okay.
You had to say the mainstream comic.
Okay.
But it's still very funny in the end.
Okay.
I, I, he's a good start off for the whole crowd there, got him going and everything
from that.
Then we started with that after Lashon, we did, they's Nikki Karkim out, Nikki and
at KKI last night car, C-A-R-R.
She is the only women, women finalist of the whole thing.
And I K-K-R.
Yeah, I don't know.
It's N-I-C-C-I.
And I C-C-I.
And then, Kark, Nikki, and then, C-A-R.
Okay.
Nikki, Kark.
She was the only woman finalist.
Now, she is African-American.
She is kind of big, every set, and she gets into that comedy about that.
She talks about that, but doesn't have a very good way.
She also, which got into the routine a lot, is she's out of the closet.
She even though she had his four kids and stuff, she came out a couple of years ago, and
she's very, very proud of that.
And she kind of made you in a quick joke and I don't want to give a lot of this way or
anything.
And she goes, you know what, it just, even though how hot you are, you can still make
the finest.
Look at me.
You know, because there you go.
You know, the hot, well, I don't know.
Yeah.
Exactly.
You know, even though the hot, you know, the GQ-looking girls, I'm the only woman standing
here.
You know, that kind of thing.
But she made a few jokes about her coming out about her size.
Talks realistically about that.
But the big part is she got real sexual talking about sexual, sexuality before she came
out of the closet and why she's, you know, out of the closet now.
Okay.
She was very good and having a woman on there, she, I think, fit the belt very, very
well.
I didn't really get in a race or anything too much until one little joke at the end, but still
a very, very good routine overall.
They need to take the break.
Now.
So the end of mission was after the second comics.
So you had three after the end mission?
Exactly.
Okay.
The next guy, Rocky Lipport, Rocky Lipport.
I actually have heard of him, I'm about to go.
If I had my favorite guy the night, it was Rocky.
He was my, he was my favorite guy the night.
He was one that I will follow from now on.
Been in the game a long time.
Yeah.
He's probably about, I'd say 40, 50.
I didn't, didn't look that up there.
So he's an older kind of gentleman kind of balding on top.
The way to describe him when he does comedy is Albany for married with children with a
New York accent.
That is the best way to describe him.
His mentality, his comedy, everything is just Albany with a New York accent.
He gets into relationships, marriage, sexuality, all that.
Not a real sexual pruned routine, but kind of like, you know, he has, I'll get one
one though quick.
He goes like, yeah, me and my wife, you know, we even had, you know, sexual counter
three times a month.
I'm a sex machine.
That kind of thing, you know, that kind of, where he kind of makes jokes, even though
he's the Albany kind of guy, and every once in a while, he would just give us some kind
of word to it.
He goes like, there's how the boy here go, you know what the code was the 39th state?
You know, I don't know if they, they're not, they don't know.
Hey, you'll learn to earn this kind of thing.
Very, very funny.
He had his right arm, you know, I know this is audio, but to Rob give you an idea, you
just go, yeah, just the, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever, like the way
everything, throughout the, he'd be talking to the women in a
crowd, you know, the little figure guy, yeah, the acting like he's Mr. Swave, double
good to you ladies.
Exactly.
Ladies.
If he was the one I enjoyed the most, he was so funny, just trying to make fun of himself
even though he thinks he's Mr. GQ.
Fair enough.
Now, the person after Rocky was Joe, Matti, J.O.E. and then Matti, M.I.C.H.I.
This guy kind of looks like Ed Grimley from Saturday and I didn't even say it.
Without the, without the big hair up there, okay.
You know, in normal clothes, but just Matt, generally with just the hair down in like
sweats.
That's what he kind of looked like to me, or even like Ellen without, with black hair,
you don't just generous.
Okay.
He's kind of, it's Ed Joe, who is a man, but he kind of looks like that woman kind
of thing.
You know what I'm saying?
His routine out of all the last night was the one that I dislike the most, really, yeah.
He comes out with that nerdy kind of attitude, kind of like the Ed Grimley kind of thing,
kind of like the Mr. scared, you know, that kind of thing.
I was boy and as a kid, I, you know, that kind of, just the real quiet, nervous, nerdy kind
of thing there, which really did nothing for me up front, his routine got real political
even racist.
Oh, wow, really.
Yeah, he did a lot of stuff politically, made jokes at politics here, he dumped on
charities really bad, I thought, a lot of times I was just sitting there going, this guy
is not funny.
If I was a judge, he would have been asked it on the first episode, but that's just my
opinion as a critic.
Fair enough.
Yeah, that right.
So in the end, he was my least favorite of the night, okay.
Finally, the man who won it all, Rod Man, was one word, well, two words, Rod
and Man.
Okay.
This guy won it all, and you know why African American gentlemen, probably 30s, 40s,
somewhere near the short hair thin guy.
His routine did get a lot sexual in nature.
It was funny, but it was very sexual in nature, but the described Rod Man as a comic.
Those black southern Baptist ministers that just go on word after word when they're
preaching.
I got into, that's what his routine was the whole time, is just constant, he never, the
words never stopped, they never, never stopped.
Yeah, I went to the sublim, got this, and then went in there, got that, and then the water.
Very rapid.
Very rapid.
Fire, constant talking.
So most of you heard him not talk as when he took a quick drink of water.
You know, just, the best way to describe it is that kind of, you know, African American
Baptist minister that just goes on one of the strumming rants, just one word after
the other, never stops.
I'm not being, you know, anti-religious or anything, yeah, yeah, yeah, but that's the best way
to describe his routine.
It started off with being a black man and stuff like that and bouncing the checks and everything
like that and then it ended up being sexual for the probably half of the, half of the
routine.
So, it was a good, yes he was, his pace never stopped.
I could see he, why he won, but out of those five, I would again, the whole thing, the
whole thing to the winner to Rocky when it came down to it.
He was my favorite of the night.
Even though Rodnan was great, you know, tell anyone out there coming to see this, if it
comes to your area, I highly recommend it.
Yeah, I don't know, it's just kind of changes when you do live shows, because number one,
this was only in Dallas for one night, so it's going to be around the country.
So, this goes more geared for them.
They empire around the country.
Exactly.
Keep an eye out, we're letting people around the empire around the nation know about this
event in case it does come to your area.
You know, the best way to describe it for you guys here.
What do you think of fair price for a ticket would be for this?
How much would you be willing to pay?
Well, giving an idea, we live in the Dallas Fort Worth area, and there's a couple
clubs around town, like a high in, okay, okay.
You go to an average comedy club, would you pay a comedy club price for this?
Yeah, I would pay probably double or triple of a regular, no actually, I'd say best way
to describe it.
Maybe a hundred bucks, I would probably say a hundred, yeah, because you got five
topics, you got a good routine, it's almost two hours when said and done.
Was it a good setting for the thing you saw it?
Oh, yeah.
I mean, the setting for the event, it was at the Winspir Opera House.
If you ever live in a DFW area, if you ever have a chance to go with that, yeah, of course,
the coups that are bad, I mean, are always great in that place, but basically the stage
was a mic with a mic stand, a little like stool, and another little table with bottle
waters that they had for the comics.
And behind the back was just a background thing that said last comic standing mic.
So it had very simple set, but what do you expect for comedy?
Right.
I would just wondering if the venue you saw it in, like, was it too overwhelming to fit
well?
Yeah, it had a lot of people in there, there are people in there.
We've been in there for, there's like three rows up.
Absolutely.
People all the way in the top three rows up.
Excellent.
So a strong endorsement for Don for the last comic standing.
I would probably say I pay about, you know, let's say average comedy called my cost
you had 25 for mission plus drinks, 50 bucks.
I would probably say triple that, 150.
Very nice.
Yeah, yeah.
Because you got some of the top, these guys were the top comics in a nation when
if you can on this show and you're gonna make the top five.
So final analysis, what I recommend this, yes, see it if it comes to your area.
Again, don't take the kids.
There is a lot of sexual stuff in this event, just in the comedy routines.
But it was very good though.
I laughed throughout the night, probably 90% of the time,
except a little bit on Joe, I just did not find like, I don't like too much.
But that's just my opinion.
