because we're going to talk about a movie today that you got to see that we did not.

I got no issue with it.
The movie we're talking about in this particular iTunes exclusive is called
Home Front, starring Jason Statham, James Franco, winner right
ah, Rachel Lefever, Kate Bosworth, Clancy Brown.
There's a lot of people in this thing.
Directed by Gary Felder, whom you might know from such projects as Kiss The Girls.
He directed an episode of the CBS Show Vegas, the show life unexpected.
Runaway, Jerry directed an episode of the shield.
This guy's got skins on them.
Actually, he did two episodes of Tales from the Crypt.

Yeah.
I just a screen or a main screenwriter for this is one Sylvester Stallone.

Basically storyline is a former DEA agents.
Phil Broker played by Jason Statham, who's his family to a quiet town where he
was playing tangles with a local drug meth lord or meth drug lord.
It's been somewhere you're from.
So don't go really, I don't know.
Don got to go to an advanced screening of this.
This releases, I believe the day before Thanksgiving.
Yeah, 27.
So let's start with the acting in the film.
I mean, a heck of a cast.
Incredible cast.
Movie runs just over just right at about an hour, 40.
What did you think of the acting in the film?
I thought it was good.
I thought Statham did in the Crabble job.
Franco who you're, sometimes seen as the nice guy in some roles like the Oz film that
just came out.
He's a great and powerful.
Yeah.
But the one that's kind of surprised by who did pretty good is the Isabella
Vitavek, who remembers Tommy Land?
Oh, she was she the little girl.
She has the little girl in Tommy Land.
Really?
Yeah.
She's the little girl in Tommy Land.
She played, you know, the sister of Emma Stone or whatever.
But she, uh, she plays the daughter of the Statham.
Now, the Statham do this with an American accent or is he still doing the British accent?
No, still with the British accent.
Okay.
Okay.
Because I'm looking at the one sheet.
And there's like, whatever Jack and he's wearing looks like an American flag.
So it's just a few with the American accent.
Because when I think America, I think, Jason, Statham.
The brother can do an accent if a brother wants to do an accent.
But he rarely does.
I mean, you think about a Dominic.
What's his name from the wire?
We didn't even know he was British for years because he did the American accent so
I'm just saying it.
Dominic, who was, was that Dominic West?
Oh, okay.
I thought she thought about like, it was Elvis character.
No.
No.
He played Stringer Bell.
But he, but he did it within American accent.
Yes, he did.
And convincingly.
Yeah.
See, that's what I thought you were talking about.
Because I didn't know he was British until he came.
Dominic West who played McNulty.
Okay.
But we, we deviate.
Yeah.
So you thought the acting overall did well?
Yeah.
I did, uh, Franco.
Who, you've seen in so many roles, like, you know, the good guy.
And some, he plays.
I think a pretty ruthless local drug lord.
Then plays the part very well.
Can I throw something at you?
Yeah.
Should throw two words at you?
Yeah.
Spider-Man?
Well.
Not a strong out evil.
Okay.
Yeah.
I see a trailer for it.
It looks like he's, I mean, he's really into this role.
And he, yes.
He, he looks like the guy who doesn't use, but he's a smart drug dealer and he's
kind of like, uh, reflex character and runner runner.
Maybe, maybe not as successful, but the same kind of guy.
More ruthless.
More ruthless.
Wow.
Really.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
So let's go to, um, we've talked about the acting.
Let's talk about the directing.
Gary, fleeater.
I believe that you say that.
I'll be flater.
Flutter.
Flutter.
Is that his middle name?
My same mouse.
Shut up.
Just, just before.
How did you feel about the visual style of the film as, as the director.
Yeah.
I thought he'd be pretty good.
I thought the movie flowed very well.
Uh, big thing it was, it was not really unrealistic.
It was, with my history as a PO, I've dealt, a little dive.
The opinion of parole.
The probation officer.
Yeah.
Eight years.
And still working for the state now.
I know.
Unfortunately, I know a lot of the drug business and stuff dealing with that.
And it was pretty real life.
Cause this stuff that happens in there does kind of really happen in real life.
Which I thought would be very good.
But visuals.
I thought we're good.
There was not, it's, this movie was not walking tall part three.
Cause there's part one.
They original part two with the rock.
This was not walking tall part three.
That's good.
And when it's, oh, and someone, when it's, sorry.
Yeah.
It wouldn't, it wouldn't.
It's on its own path.
And it's not just about the guy coming in and breaking, you know,
raising hell and a bunch of explosions.
There is some action.
But I think it was the right amount of action.
I thought.
There is some brutal scenes.
Don't take the kids.
Okay.
This is not for the kids.
I believe this is right.
It is.
Of course.
Yeah.
But this isn't one for the family.
But I think the drug can be pretty good.
And if you like like kiss a girl's in the other stuff,
the flutter dead.
I think you'll like this.
All right.
So you, you felt the direction he didn't overdo it.
He didn't underdo it was a wide amount.
Yeah.
The story flow very well.
I thought in a big thing, which are like,
it was not really unrealistic.
It's super man who can come in and with one shotgun and take off 30 guys at once.
Okay.
Fair enough.
Fair enough.
It starts off.
The story is about.
State them who.
Is.
In undercover de-age and doing a big bust.
And it goes bad where the big biker lord.
Here's some dies at the beginning.
And the biker lord gets busted.
And they moved to the small town.
And he's living life as a carpenter.
It's him and his daughter.
The little girl from zombie land.
Right.
Yeah.
Who she is incredible role too.
Isabel.
She's like a little girl.
Who's a stand-up girl.
You know, if you bully her, she's going to hit back.
You know, kind of like, but she.
Probably learned it from her old man.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Which.
Um.
And basically altercation on the school out.
Ground gets to where the parents get involved.
And things just kind of spiral out of control from there.
Which I don't want to keep the spoiler free of course.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
With that in mind, that's basically give up from the trailers.
I think.
But uh.
The stuff that happens at the end.
Doing what the drugs.
It's real life.
Okay.
With the meth labs and all that.
It is very real life.
I thought.
Um.
But I say a very good storyline.
If you like action and stuff like that,
it's going to be a good action film.
But not too much.
The unrealistic.
Like I said.
But he comes with a shotgun takes out 30 people.
Right.
There's one scene.
It takes on three people.
But it's all.
This bumps and everything.
And uh.
He gets up for hand.
Of course, with this training been in the CIA and D.A. and all that.
Of course, you're going to be able to take a bumps and have a few.
You know, be able to throw a few punches.
You know.
So you didn't feel the action was over the top.
That was just right.
And realistic.
Very realistic.
All right.
So let's go to.
The final analysis.
This was not going to run as long as.
As our normal.
Yeah.
I too.
Exclusive.
Because you're the only one reviewing this.
But we wanted to make sure that we were here for you.
Sorry.

Actually, we've got there on your own.
Final analysis.
The way we rate movies on this particular show.
Is to.
It's a two-prong process.
Prong number one.
Would you see this film again?
And if the answer to that question is yes.
Then we moved to the second prong of this particular process.
Which tells me.
How would you watch this film again?
Did you see it again in first run?
Would you go to matinee?
Would you get to twilight showing?
Would you wait for it on blue, right?
Or would you wait for it on HBO?
Where?
Go pound sand.
I'm not watching this movie again.
So don.
Let's let's let's enter the first question first.
Would you watch this film again?
Yes.
I would.
You would.
Okay.
So now we have to go the second part of the process.
On a second viewing of this film.
How would you see it?
And why?
And our.
Our.
Our listeners deserve a lot.
They deserve the best of the empire.
So I got a two prong this for me.
I would see it on DVD or HBO.
Me personally.
Okay.
As a recommendation that someone who hasn't seen it.
I would say matinee.
So you wouldn't go again unless it was on cable.
But if somebody hadn't seen it, you'd tell them to go during the day.
Okay.
Get the get the deal.
I won't say a folder.
So you did not like it.
You just didn't love it.
Not in love it.
No.
That's that's the purpose of reviewing a film is to give you your opinion.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
But I.
I recommend you could if you like action.
I would say the matinee for sure.
Was there anything on the film you didn't like that brought you to that point?
There was.
I don't don't give any spoilers.
And that's why that's why I'm trying to do without it.
They were a couple things that Franco's character did.
That they would have done in real life.
A drug lord would not have done it.
Okay.
Maybe a little over the top for the character.
Yeah.
Some of the ways he played it.
But some of the plays he did.
I go a drug dealer would not do that in real life.
Trust me on that.
But but overall that's that'd be my biggest complaint of the whole thing.
But still overall really was realistic with the drugs and all that.
The meth labs and everything else.
All right.
Chatting.
Anything that you need to know about this film before we wrap this thing up.
I'm reading some of the comments of people are saying about the poster.
Somebody was commenting that the movie poster isn't.
And I'm quoting.
Merrican.
Merrican.
They said that it needs more bald eagles.
That was that one of our listeners that did that.
It says that needs more bald eagles and guns.
Or better yet.
Wall Street execs shooting bald eagles with big guns.
To protect Godfaring Americans from the terrorist.
But the bald eagle.
So obviously.
But it's interesting as I was reading some of the trivia on this that apparently
Stallone wrote this years and years and years ago.
Probably for himself.
And but but he abandoned it due to his age.
But stay them one to do it.
And that's why they brought it back.
And who just.
It's been a whole different much as right hand man and expand.
I think they'll make money on it.
