It is 10 o'clock in the east coast.
It is 7 o'clock on the west coast and that is important to know.
It is the 17th of October, actually it's the 18th of October.
In the year of our Lord, 2024, season 15 episode 15, 684 times you have been welcome to the
Clubhouse Podcast, or one stop shop for all things sports entertainment, pop culture, and
pro wrestling normally live every Thursday night at a Eastern, but we had to do some
finagle in this week.
Good morning.
I think that's the first time I've ever said that on this show.
My name is Rob.
I'm the executive producer of the Clubhouse Podcast, and we've got a long way to go in a short
time to get there.
My co-host will be here momentarily, don't still out on the assignment.
I believe he will be back next week, if not the week after.
So it's kind of feel you in on what is actually happening right now.
As you can tell, I am not in the studio.
I'm not even in my backup studio because I am on the road.
I am actually in Las Vegas this week, getting ready to officiate a wedding this evening,
court and court and graduations in advance.
You'll probably watch this, but if you do, you've got to shout out.
So we are at an Airbnb and an undisclosed location in Las Vegas, actually, I think we're
in summer one technically, but you know, he just round up to the nearest major city.
Been here since Wednesday morning, been having any fantastic time flying back to Dallas
tomorrow evening, and then next week, we should be back to abnormal.
We don't have a lot going on in our realms this week, but we did want to make sure we had
some content for you guys right here on SunsetLowns GFW.
For those of you that may be just sneaking a peek, maybe checking it out with somebody else.
Five bucks a month here on the Patreon.
Get you all the great shows from legends, from people who will become legends.
Also want to send a shout out last Friday night, if you haven't seen any of the
reels out there from SunsetLowns or from us, Alex and I were at Smokey Rose down by the
Arboridam in Dallas for a great event where we hung out with all of the shows from SunsetLowns
GFW. We had round tables every half an hour, kind of shuffle in the deck a little bit.
Alex did a couple by himself. I did a couple by myself. We did one together with some great,
great people. It had so much time. Thank you guys for having us out there.
And, you know, groups wasn't lying. The food was really good. Those burnt ends did not this
of point. Alex had some as well. They both passed our mustard. So if you're down in the Arboridam
area, definitely check out Smokey Rose, you never know when we'll be back. We're hoping to be back
sometime soon. Let's see here. Trying to get notifications on my phone because I don't
have such a memory. It's seven a.m. for me, but in the central time zone where I live,
the day is moving very, very quickly. So I was going to do this outside because it's a gorgeous
view, but it is 47 degrees and windy currently here. So that was not going to be something that was
going to be done. I know Alex is running a little bit behind. He will be here. So he's got a
house full of gas because he also, as I said at the top of the show, he is dealing with some wedding
stuff this weekend. Chris, it lives a congratulations to you guys as well. Hope everything is beautiful
down there in the Dallas area, which they'll be getting, they'll be just getting married by the
time. I've plain ones on Saturday night. Ooh, it is windy as heck out here. I don't know if you guys
can see that in the background, but yeah, it is windy. But it'll die down as a day goes on. It's going to
be abusive. The weather here in Vegas has been absolutely gorgeous. Actually, I have a little patio outside
of the room. I'm staying and we're in a two-fourth house and I just sat out there yesterday for
I was just watching the world go by because I can't. I got to see some of my friends that live
out here since I've been out here. You've got to see Helen and her husband on Wednesday night,
we had a blast having dinner together and then last night during the rehearsal dinner,
old friend of the show, Armando Garcia who lives here came by and I spent some time with him downstairs.
Oh, we were waiting for the dinner to be served and got to see him and catch up with him.
It's just been great. I always love when I get to see friends when I go to a city out of town.
There's a lot going on, but some of the stuff I really want Alex to be here for so that we can talk
about it with you guys. But what we'll do in the meantime is I'm going to get you guys updated
on this past weeks NFL scores. So let's do that. They get that pull up for you.
Last night we had a game. I want to tell you something. It was crazy last night
as Denver who was getting three points and we said Alex and I talked about this earlier this week.
Why Denver was getting points with New Orleans in the disarray that they are in from a quarter
back position standpoint is beyond me. Yeah, I was always like, give me, you know, when we looked at
yesterday was a point and half it went down to three. I'm like give me Denver minus three all day long
because they beat New Orleans by 23 yesterday. It was 13 nothing in the second quarter and it got
nothing but worse for New Orleans as Denver puts the absolute beat down on them on Thursday night football.
Other scores from last week. Last Thursday San Francisco was getting three and a half and they
didn't need it in a game where it sucks to have the under because San Francisco does be Seattle
36 to 24. Excuse me. It's certainly not the name of the show which is right there on my screen
since it's early early in all caps. Last Sunday Jacksonville who is still in London to play the
Patriots this week, which means it's my favorite game of the year when British people wear
Patriots gear whole areas. Chicago does beat Jacksonville 35 to 16. I kind of like the concept of
one team staying and playing two weeks in a row. I don't know how the team feels about that. But last
week, they were technically the away team this week. They'll technically be the home team.
And we'll talk about that a little bit once Alex gets on. But they do lose the Chicago 35 to 16
and Chicago is starting to put it together. We talked about this in our preseason extravaganza
that this was going to be a team to watch that we were still not going to fall for the hard knocks
rope adapt. So we're keeping an eye on that. Green Bay hosts Arizona. They were giving Arizona
five and a half. This was a game that we talked about last week. And I said, I wouldn't be surprised
even though Arizona's on a streak. It would not surprise me if if green bay as they are starting
to put it together in weeks six that they were going to beat up on them. And they did 34 to 13
at the frozen tundra of a them movie. I don't have the effects because I didn't bring my
board with me. I'm right into my laptop on this one. Also last week, indie over 10 to see
buy three 10 to see was giving two and a half. We did need it again. Houston was giving six and a
half and they didn't need those either because they beat New England by 20 on the road in
July stadium. Tampa Bay with a big win over New Orleans. They put 51 on the Saints in their own house.
Not a good, not a good couple of weeks for New Orleans. Tampa Bay was giving three and a half in
that game. Philly over Cleveland. Philly was giving seven and a half. But if you took Philly minus
seven and a half, you did not score because they only win by four. And that's the first one that
did not cover there. Baltimore was giving seven and that's going to wind up as a pickum
because they beat Washington football club by seven points and a game that I believe all of
both Alex and I said would be a competitive game and it truly was. The chargers beat Denver last week.
They were giving Denver three but they didn't need it because it was 23 to 16. The Steelers
were the big win over Vegas as we pretty much knew they would 32 to 13. There he is. I even pointed
the right way. So I've just been going through last week's NFL scores because of the headlines
I wanted to wait for Alex to get here. He is my co-host and he is it's early because I haven't
seen it's early for him but it's it's definitely not hitting the ground running levels if I'm
not mistaken. Oh no. Hey, if I've ever been considered a morning person, it's purely because it's a lie.
Well, I always said if I see more than one five o'clock in the day, but because I didn't go to bed,
that's also fair. But I'm glad you're here. I'm just going through you have four more games
as Dallas gets shocked by the lines. I was going to the scores, Alex. There's only one team
that was the favorite that didn't cover so far. Which I thought was interesting.
Well, I'd go ahead and finish up. Well, touch on I don't know. Yeah.
Atlanta over Carolina by 18 they were giving Carolina six didn't need it. Sunday night football
last week, the Giants and a valiant effort. Since that he was giving them four and a half,
but didn't need to be. Hey, you're not the Cowboys. That game was the cure for narcolepsy.
Let's be honest. It was awful. Well, we said it was going to be a comedy of errors. That's true.
And Monday night football buffalo over the jet to buy three buffalo covers by a point and a half
of, you know, when you talk about the big news of the week, speaking of the JETS choke choke choke.
Devontate Adams is a jet like I get that. That's like your your buddy from back in the day.
You're going to be reunited. But when this thing happened, I sent Alex a text and I said Devontate Adams is a
jet good luck with all that because I don't think that's the cure. There's been two ways about that.
Number one, remember this is the same Devontate Adams who turned down more money in Green Bay because
he was sick of Aaron Rogers stuff. Yeah. And then on top. I don't have the buttons. The best. Oh,
I know. But the the best take I saw. And I I this maybe it's this early, but my brain is trying to say it
was camera on, um, who literally said, that's great for them and all and celebrate your joy of
getting back with your friend quarterback and wide receiver, but when did they win anything?
Oh, by the way, I told you I was going to try to do this outside. It's 47 degrees in
Wendy's health. So that was not going to happen this morning. Oh, don't feel bad. I just have the wind
back. Oh, there's all of that. But but in news that I think it's probably more impactful
within the same division, a Mari Cooper now a bill. This kind of this has my antenna raised.
Yeah, because Buffalo, although not firing on all cylinders, this is definitely going to help with that.
Neither one of these guys going to the Raven still surprises me, but
but the Ravens draft so well. And you know, safe hours is coming around.
Rashad Bateman has looked like he's had a pulse for the first time in his career over the last few
weeks. So maybe they felt like they were good or still feel like they're good. But before we move off
of that, a Mari Cooper is an interesting get for Buffalo to me because the dude has just not
failed anywhere. Like they're early on in his career. There was like, oh, well, he has a lot of drops.
And then you look at it and they started to adjust the metrics and realize that young Derek Car
wasn't very accurate. Then he gets to Dallas and he has roughly the same, but every time he has
switched teams, he has kind of blown up to start at least and then teams adjust to him. So with
Buffalo, if they can blow up to start, they'll put a good pad for the AFC East and the AFC in general.
But by the time they adjust, maybe they're working to Shakir or whether they're working to
concave, it's obviously the deepest team he's been on. So we'll see how that plays out.
We want to send our best to Eden Hutchinson. I have not seen the clip. I refuse to watch the clip.
You don't need. I don't need it. You know, like when I was watching Red Zone, the commentators literally
said, we are not going to re-show this. And then ESPN tried to get up in McGurail about it. So I just
turned my head away until they finished talking. But I like this kid. I want this kid to have a bright
future. Get well. Listen to the doctors. Do it right. Don't rush it. Reheat Shaheed also could be
out for the rest of the year with knee surgery as my fantasy team spends an hour with Alex on the
phone. The other night trying to make adjustments because none of my players can stay healthy.
According to Adam Shepter yesterday, they are considering it season ending. Okay.
So good move on getting rid of them. And also for those of you that have complained because
you refuse to do anything about robiniers on your televisions in your life,
there will be six of the remaining Monday night football games will air on ABC,
outside of the ones that are in your local market for those of you that aren't aware of how that
works. If you are local team plays, FCC law says it must be on broadcast television. So for
instance and Dallas, if the cowboys are on Monday night football, they have to be aired on
channel 11, which is the official station of the cowboys. It's not a law. I don't know. I don't
does that apply the Thursday night? I don't believe it does because of the Amazon deal.
I think you might have it locally on similar to what the cowboys were. They become the only
game that's on even if they are garbage. And it's on CBS. But at that same time because
Amazon has such a specific stranglehold of a deal on Thursday nights, I don't know if it applies.
I apologize. But at the same time, all you noticed really is a writer. Yeah. But with us being
big proponents, like we were like, I don't know about games going strictly to prime video.
Their cover just blown me away. It's better to be on what I expected.
So I don't know that we even thought I'm here for Dallas was on.
But speaking of Dallas, and this is a quick NBA headline, this just happened yesterday.
There is a now channel 8, the ABC affiliate in Dallas has bought the frequency for channel 29.
And that's frequency will be airing as the valley sports thing tends to heat up. They will be airing
all of the non-nationally televised fabric schemes. Nice. So I wanted to put that out there.
Talked about last night's game, Alex and I were in agreement on that particular game
because Denver was giving three and wins by 23 coming up Sunday morning.
See now I've got to do math because now it's showing me everything in Pacific time.
Stick to Pacific time. I'll do the adjustment.
It'll be 830 central as we go back to England. And as I said earlier, my favorite game of the
year because the Patriots are in England as they play the Jacksonville Jaguar. So it's been
living there for two weeks. Jacksonville giving them six. This might be the perfect
each or breakfast while you're watching a game because they're going to be much else going on.
Let your system warm up so that you're ready for noon.
This is the one for just the fantasy owners that have Travis ETN, maybe Evan Ingram or Trevor Lawrence
if you're forced to play them because of by weeks. Everybody else you're just sitting there
and you're just like not catch the later games. Only two games, only two teams on the buy this week.
And that would be Chicago and Dallas. In the early set Seattle goes to Atlanta at Atlantic
giving them three. I don't know that I trust that because Seattle is starting to come around.
And this is usually about the time of year where Atlanta forgets they have a football team.
Well, the funny one on this one is Gina Smith does not look like he's playing great, but he's on
pace for over 5,000 yards and 17 touchdowns. Like that math does not math. But at the same time,
this is one of those ones that because there is no hook. I've seen it as low as two and a half.
I am on the Atlanta side because they have looked at least at worst competent all year,
but you also have the Pacific Northwest traveling to arguably one of the furthest East teams
and playing in the early set. And let's just say Seattle has a lot of players that could get
distracted by what Atlanta is known for in the sports world. Magic City. Yeah. Of.
Did you see the latest stats on that kid from Boise State? Not the latest. 97 carries. He's at a
thousand yards. Oh, no. He's well beyond that. He's. I saw that like OZ more because I saw that yesterday.
The last time I saw it, it was 127 carries. He's at 1647 yards and like 19 touchdowns already.
And here's the funny part. My first reaction was just who is he played and then I look and I'm like,
oh, he's actually played a couple of teams. Boise State. Look at the schedule. He played or the
played Oregon and he had two bills. I mean, Oregon with one of the smartest things I've ever seen
in college football last Saturday. They didn't cheat. There's no rule. You've put 12 then on the field.
You lose the time off the clock and then you're quarterback slides in the middle of the field.
It's called a clock broke, but that's a whole different story for a whole another time. Yeah.
We don't have time to time this morning. So also, well, they never said it was in
a good, elegant team. Tennessee goes to high mark stadium. Buffalo giving them nine and a half
it ain't enough. No, it bills all day long. This numbers high enough to give me pause, but I still
have more faith in Buffalo. The Cleveland Browns. It's the host. It's the battle for Alex
is least favorite state as they host the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati's giving them five and a
half. Give me a couple of it at that number. I don't think they win, but I think that I'll cover
five and a half. Allow me to point out outside of Philadelphia and outside of I believe the one or
two games they have competed in and won. They haven't been within double digits of any team. And
you know what? Cincinnati's defense isn't looking great, but Cleveland's offense hasn't
looked good enough to worry me, but Cincinnati's offense is starting to click. Give me them in a
boat race. I mean, I might take it at double the number. Well, you're over under there is
406 to 48. 41.5. Oh, yeah. And let me put it in this context. Don't be surprised when that's like
let's do some math. 28 to 13. Houston goes to the frozen tundra.
Remake giving them three. This is a game that I think could be a trap game because of the way Green Bay
has played the last couple of weeks. Houston still gaining a little bit of momentum is still momentum.
I'm still, I would still, I mean, that makes it a pickam. I would still take Green Bay minus the
three just because of the frozen tundra. Well, the biggest thing for me is Green Bay's defense
and their offense are the, they're the only team with a top 10 EPA on both sides of the ball.
And then on top of it, Houston has not looked good since Nico Collins went out. There's,
excuse me, they're still trying to figure it out. So give me Green Bay, give me that home field.
I expect this to be a good game, but this one might be one of those where it's a good game
but low scoring, if you know what I mean. In another game that is technically a pickam,
Lucas oil field hosts the Miami dolphins and the dolphins are getting free.
You want me to just rip the bandaid? Just give me Andy. I don't care.
Yeah, the only reason that I pause on this one is Anthony Richardson is expected to be back,
which takes the number down for me, but Jonathan Taylor's expected to be back. So bring it back up.
And I like Miami, I like Huntley, but they are not messing well. They're, they're waiting for
to return. And that is an agent still out too. He's expected back. It was a concussion ruled in week
five, perfectly timed for the buy. He did clear concussion protocols and it should be good to go.
Detroit goes to Minnesota, Minnesota, giving them a point in a half. There is one loss between these two teams.
And if you had to bet, I don't think me. Yeah. Detroit is not going to do what they did last week.
Minnesota is a completely different ball game. Well, especially what I want to let yourself.
Yeah. Because I've told anybody in this town that I'll listen, you better just back up
and bring struck up to Max Crossby's house, because if you don't, it's coming cold. Yeah,
they'll be the defense so they can make some moves. Oh, I think Max Crossby's the target.
They're just because it's going to cost too much, but that I liked that idea. I would love to see
Max Crossby and Aden Hutchins and on either side of a line. Now granted, that's not going to happen this year,
but it may not happen at all. But that that would be a level of jersey I see walking around town
in stores. That tells you anything about the Raiders. That says everything about the Raiders right now.
But I think, they'll take me in a soda plus one. Now Aden Hutchins and his nickname will be Fury Road,
because on one side, you'll have Mad Max and then Fury Road on the other side. Give me that.
And with Em, could you imagine just a fan art of MCDC just leading them on the do for
the Raiders? Oh, okay. I got sidetracked. But the problem with this is that Minnesota has done
everything exactly right so far this season. It's a testament to how good their coaching is.
And if you lose Aden Hutchins and that means you're down to basically one solid past
Russia with the Detroit. And Christian Darisau is going to bury that kid whenever he's lined up against him.
So I expect Minnesota to win this in a close game, but I think they'll cover the one and a half.
And it hurts my heart and makes Mike happy for me to say that. So
Filly goes to MetLife Stadium to play the Giants. Filly is giving free.
Again, let's just rip the bandit off. Give me Filly minus three. I want the Giants to be better.
I want the Giants to be better. Don't get me wrong. If for no other reasons that it brings you joy,
but I don't, this is one of those ones that it's going to be weird.
It's going to be like 17 to 15 because the Giants can't score any touchdowns, but they have five
field goals. And then it's going to miss a field goal and the Giants will be within the number,
but they won't win. The biggest reason for that Malik neighbors has cleared concussion protocol
and is expected to play as he is many full participant in practice.
Oh, hey, by the way, I just got your text. How did were you able to just see it from the dashboard?
I had to back door into, we'll talk off air. Okay. Yeah.
I'm just curious to how that happened. For those of you that I've got this in Alex the link for the show.
I wasn't doing it. Because I can't do the little show time. Normally I have it ahead of time
and the way we're doing it now, I can only do it when we go live. So, yeah. No, I don't mind.
What do I always say? This goes out blemishes and all. I'm not going to care to fit. But yeah,
I had to back door a little stream yard and hunt for the old number. Vegas, who probably
soon within the next five years, will be making this trip on a train that is being developed here,
goes too so far to play the Rams. Rams giving them seven. Give me LA. Oh, this is 100%
of get right for the Rams. The Raiders just traded their best player and their defense hasn't
been able to stop a wind regardless of season and you're getting Cooper Cup back. You're getting
a by week Sean McVay and that dude knows how to prep. So give me the Rams. If it's to me up to double
digits. This is okay. We are in the late set now with that game. Carolina goes to Washington
football team giving eight. It's not enough. Carolina's terrible. Carolina is terrible but that's
a big number. Especially when you look at it from a historical standpoint, rookie quarterbacks,
no matter how good they are, have not covered numbers this large. I think Jake Daniels does it
by himself. Well, but the problem is his Washington also hasn't been able to stop anybody and we know
that Andy Dalton is a competent backup level quarterback, which means he can execute at least on a
basic level and a basic level in the NFL is oftentimes all you really need to beat a bad defense.
And Washington hasn't been as bad as expected but they have been far from good. I would lean
Carolina just based on the big number but this should be a fun game to see some point scored.
KC goes to Santa Clara. Santa Francisco giving a point in a half. I'm I'm still riding this
Kansas City train. I just am. Yeah San Francisco is not the better thing. Yeah San Francisco is a
better team that is not clicking for whatever reason but they are healthier. The real big reason
to take Kansas City on this one is just on your own time. Not now but on your own time. Look
up Andy reads career record coming off of a buy. It is obscenely good. The jets go to
of active puncture stadium and they're giving Pittsburgh a point in half. Are you insane? Oh, I know why
they're house. I will say this. I'm taking easily. I'm taking the jets. I take the jets all day.
You know, no, allow me to put it in this context. Justin Fields has been really good
and the Steelers benched him. So Steelers and country. I mean, I'm sorry.
I need pickin' to some more catches. Oh, pickins will get more catches because Russell Wilson will
be more apt to throw. The problem is is that Russell Wilson hasn't made good throws in
three or four years. So I'm taking the jets and I expect this one to be a close one but
Russell Wilson said. Oh, we've got two three Sunday night games this week. No, no two Sunday night games.
We have two Sunday night games. We have two Monday night games. Oh, you're right. I'm sorry.
Again, math. This is the third time in four weeks that we've had a double header on Monday night.
I'm starting to wonder if we're experimenting with how we're going to do this with ABC and ESPN.
Honestly, I just think it's the league trying to boost revenue. I mean, I like it. Don't get
me wrong. I like multiple prime time games. But I think it's smart to put want to do like
your early game, which is at 715 central. Ravens at Tampa Bay and then your next one's 45 minutes
later. You put that. You put the early one on ABC so you can get to local news, put the late one on
ESPN because you're just going to sports center anyway. I'm kind of here for it. You want to
prototype. But Baltimore goes to Raymond James Stadium. Baltimore giving three and a half Tampa
Bay coming off, put in 51 on the on those saints. I want to take Baltimore in the
points. But every time I turn my back on my bucking ears, they bite me right on the tickets.
I'm going to go Baltimore. I agree. And the reason I agree is because Tampa Bay right now has
been amazing. But they haven't exactly played the toughest of schedules. So it's one of those like
misnomers like, oh, the saints were too. No, they look like world beaters. They're scored in 45. It's like,
yeah, look who they played. They played Carolina and Dallas, who I'm pretty sure my grandmother
could run for 200 yards on. Los Angeles super chargers go to Arizona. And I'm chargers giving
two and a half, but I'm taking the chargers because their coach has the heart of an athlete.
Glad you saw that. I watched this stuff you said me. Yeah. But yeah, I'm also on the chargers side.
This is going to be a fun game to watch. But the chargers are dealing with some injuries. They're
getting dirt when James back off suspension. They've recently had a buy. So they're healed up a bit.
And they're just a more complete team. Arizona has been fun to watch. But here's your big problem.
If we have to pick this now, we don't know if Marvin Harrison's playing. And that's an entire
point moving on that needle, I think. So I'm sticking with the chargers. They're more complete.
They have a better scheme and plan right now. But it should be a fun game.
But to get back to the the pro tip I had for you when you have these multiple games like the
ESPN and ABC, if you go to ESPN plus, they do give you the option to split screen in the old
school style either side by side or picture and picture. And you can play both games at once. Nice.
That last minute I double hitter. Speaking of ESPN, our pickably Alex starting to climb that
mountain. He is currently in a three way tie for sixth place. I am in second place. I am three
games behind our leader. Alex is currently six games behind me. So now to clarify, I have only
lost like four or five games in the last two weeks. So I'm going to ruin it this week. Now you never know.
And can we send a shout out to the WNBA playoffs. These have been absolutely fantastic.
Same as last week. And I am in the right town to watch those games right now because I
could just go sit down somewhere. And I walked through the Caesar sports book yesterday. So I
looked at what they're on Wednesday and looked around a little bit. Because that's what you do.
And I've been to the water burger on the trip. They're building 14 more of their standar
water burgers out here. Nice. So if you get the bandwidth to see the home away from home for
me, remember it is the Westgate and Circa. You want to watch some sports, that's the place to do it.
Yeah, I don't know that I'm going to make it to either one of those. What I'm going to try.
Because today is kind of jam packed. No worries. Maybe I'll just get that be a next year or something.
I think Phil and I should try to go to the Pinball Hall of Fame today. Nice. The new one.
It's right by the Vegas sign. I didn't know that. Well, it's in the new Vegas sign. Yeah.
And the new Hall of Fame because they moved it. Right. You know, but what I'm saying is is
everybody who thinks they're taking the picture with the iconic Las Vegas all of it. That's not it.
That's just the new one they did for tourists. I took a picture. I take a picture with it.
But it took a picture of it. Oh, you want me to say something really snooty.
Go ahead. The new pinball hole of him is right by my condo.
Oh, isn't nice. Yes. But what I the reason I took the picture of the sign and I got the perfect angle for it.
Because I had a sign in front of it that said in the evenings, it's lit blue and yellow for navy.
Nice. So, show and respect.
Let's see here.
Oh, I am way too far down the run sheet currently. Let's do some quick headlines from a television
standpoint. Apple TV to the surprise of no one has renewed slow horses for season six.
I didn't realize that. Did they not originally go here on Apple TV? No, it was I believe it was
always on Apple TV. But for one reason or another, they Apple TV's problem is for some reason.
They are terrible at advertising. It needs they're their entire model is based on something else
becoming so undeniable like a Ted Lazo that people go there and they go, oh, Gary Oldman has a show.
Oh, Jason Seagull has a show and hoping that it expands out from there because they don't
advertise. And I wonder if that's because of Napoleon, actually, because they advertise that a good
bit. And they did not get the success that they thought they would.
Netflix has ordered a weekly talk show that will start next year, starring the John Molini.
I like him. I like him too. If you have not seen Baby J or I don't know if that's the most recent
but the specials that he did for Netflix, they are very good. I love the one where he talks about
when you went to, I think Baby J is one where he went to talk about rehab, right? I believe it is the
most recent and that is what you really could. And Brian, let's be honest, if you could go to rehab
and come out with Olivia Munn, that's a win-win win. Season three of invincible
on Prime Video will start February the 6th. And I'm so excited. We're not going to have it.
Yeah, and I'm so excited. We're not going to have like the two to three week mid season break.
It's going to run straight through. And if you have not watched it,
invincible is awesome. TV on DVD and blue right this week, one of your big anime series,
bleach has the thousand year blood war part two available to you on Tuesday. These final season and
complete series from a show that started on CBS and went to Paramount Plus evil,
whichever very good things about. So complete series of the Borges, which you know that on Showtime,
CSI Vegas, the complete series because that will not have another season.
The complete series of the L-Ray from Desk Till Dawns are now stars, I think, did out from Desk Till Dawn.
But the one that will be available, the complete series of the animated legend of Zelda series
will be available this week, as well as so healthy tide, vape, and walker. Okay.
Couple of quick movie hits because we don't have a ton of time this week. Henry Cavill has joined
the cast of the live action Voltron. I think that really happens without him, though.
It's gained a lot of momentum the last month and a half. I love the fact they've
joined me because the last time I got excited it died in the water. Yeah, I just love the fact that
every time you see something for Henry Cavill, it's like, oh yeah, super handsome, super buff,
super nerd, love it. Yeah, like that guy. Crayola Studios in a hallmark are bringing back
bright. I'm not said animated or live action, but it was a big deal when you were a young lad.
I remember nothing of it. It's like your chords with me. We are getting a sequel to
ready or not with Samara Weaving and the filmmakers. I love how they revealed it of like, oh,
by the way, here she is in wardrobe. You guys know how I feel about horror films and it's ill.
I love that movie. It's the third act takes a weird turn. Don't get me wrong. But I love that movie.
Okay, I want to I want to kind of like angle this because I know you have seen horror movies.
Is there a level of when it became like a gorefest or a jump scare? What I'm saying is is like,
could you get into like the Friday the 13th or anything of it's classic horror movie, Ilks, like Ololy?
When I was younger, yes, because I saw the exercise when I was 13.
On how will we night had a sleepover with a couple of buddies and we watched the exercise?
When I was younger, it wasn't as big of a deal.
Okay, the reason I asked is because I actually watched the new Salem's lot that dropped on Max.
And if you were a fan of the old school style horror with some new school looks and twists and
different aspects to like polish it up, it's actually really enjoyable. Like, it's still horror movie
where I've heard you say, plot hole so big you could drive a truck through.
But fun, enjoyable, and old school horror, Doug it.
Let's see here, my come-and-row who you might know from if follows. She was also an independent
stay resurgence the fifth wave and the guests, I'm not sure what that tells you, but she is
teaming up with the Mary Elizabeth Winstead, then we're going to remake the hand that rocks the
cradle and he clearly lives with the Winstead does. I think it's something that I need this one.
Like there's so much other stuff out there. That's true, you know. And we are getting a sequel to
the Wild Robot. Apparently there's like four books in that series. I, while writing my review,
which is currently located at www.theclubhousepodcast.com, that's our website.
Yeah, I wasn't waiting for it. But it is phenomenal, but while I was looking into it,
they were like, yeah, I touched this on one small part of a story with in a multi-book series,
and I'm like, oh yes, please give me more of this. Please, it is, and if you want a more in-depth
look on that angle of it, our friends at the movies that make us didn't episode on the Wild Robot,
I believe it was last week, if not the week before, and they go into the breadth and
width of that story, that it's not just a script. Like there's a series of books that, and
they love it, and so shout out to them. Movie New releases in places you get movie new releases today,
which is weird to say. Tom Petty Hardbreakers Beach Party. This was basically a
performance. We're back in the day that's being released. Cameron Crow was involved in this.
There was a screening in people. There was a national screening in people really dug it.
Smile too. I talked to friend of the show Mark Walters. He walked me through this.
It's interesting. I'll have to tell you off here what he told me if you want to know.
Well, I actually, I didn't see the first one, but I was interested in it. Plus, I saw a behind-the-scenes,
because Naomi Scott plays a, I guess you would say, pop artist, but she is an actually talented
musician and wound up going through a full production of an album for this movie. And I'm very intrigued by that.
You kind of started a little bit, so you sounded a little bit like Tommy Wiseau. Did movie.
That brought me joy. We live in time. My review is currently up at our website.
I love this movie. And you really go ahead and read my review
because there's kind of too much to go into here. Florence, Pew, Andrew Garfield,
killing the game. It's all I'm saying. Great, great movie.
We have roadblocks of the movie coming your way this week. If this comes out five years ago,
my niece is blowing me up to take her. Let's see here. Not much else on a major scale this week.
Movies on DVD and Blu-ray where you get DVD and Blu-rays coming Tuesday, Deadpool and Wolverine
is on its way. Week after next, it will be on Disney Plus. So get ready for that.
Twisters, which I very much enjoyed. I just, I just love that they made fun of. Why don't I
forget his name? Twisters, male lead. Paxton, Topkin Maverick. No, Go Glen Powell. Glen Powell.
They used to make fun of him because they kept telling him that his belt buckle was bigger than the
girl on his truck. And by the way, he kept the girl on that truck and turned it into a coffee table.
That's funny. Cook who, which was in theaters about a month ago, very creepy home pass.
Just the image that he used looks insane. I'm just going to say this and move on because I know
it's going to make Alex angry. Borderlands available this week. There will be a steel book of ninjas scroll,
which is one of my favorite anime films ever. Do I need to back out? I just want to address that.
But I'm not bad. I'm disappointed. You're not wrong. They're doing a collector's edition of
in a violent nature, which is that. Okay. I watched it this the other day too. Okay. And it is very
interesting what they have done following, we've talked about this before. So I'm not going to
rehash everything. But following the killer has you spending a lot of time watching a dude walk.
But the way they did it to make it, why you'd be interested to follow said character on top of
everything else. And mini spoiler alert. So at one point you get to with in the narrative and
you realize. So you know how they did Friday the 13th part six part seven. Jason X. Jason in New York
back on a thing. You get to a point where if you're paying attention to the dialogue, which obviously
your main character never does, you hit a point you're like, wait, this is the fourth movie of this
ilk. Okay. So you have to pay attention to that. But Jason takes me and hadn't has one of my favorite
kills in a movie ever. It's one of my favorite memes as well. But go with the guys on the rooftop and
he punches the guys head off and it falls down and then it hits the dumpster and it dumpster closes.
It just makes me laugh. See, the what I like is the meme where they use that where Jason is walking
along the street and they play, they overlay something that is terrible music. Then Jason just kicks
the boombox. That's the end of that film and I don't care if this is a sport. The movie's 35 years
old now of it was I was I think it we got there and they were kind of like we don't know what to do
just flood them with nuclear waste and turn them back into a boy. I'm sure why not it's the 80s.
And they think you have paramount in space where he beats one person with another person inside of
a sleeping bag. Paramount presents collection this week is ghost. I remember when that came
up because I worked at the theater. Arrow video is releasing Hellrazer quartet of torment.
Cover this looks pretty cool. And the criteria in collection will be doing bumbo this week so you
got that going for you. Which is nice. Let's talk about a couple of quick things from a wrestling
standpoint. I'm not going to do the banner because it's going to take up 30 seconds. That's a shout out
to Zach Sobre Jr. He is your new IWGP champion beating nighto.
Shotking that it took this long for him to get a run with the big belt because he has just been
so good for so long. Josh Alexander's new group is with the center and the center and saint.
They are now the northern armory so adjust your roster accordingly. I don't know how I feel about that
name but I'll roll with it. Josh Alexander gets a pass but let's be honest. Next weekend is
NWA some way too because of the weather they've been having there. They're actually going to be doing
it at the local PBS studio in Tampa. Oh, interesting. So I'll go over my row
rant next week. Allegedly, Rear Ripley has signed a five year deal with the company.
And I love her new shirt. Man, I love that new shirt. It blinks me honest. Is there anything she
does that doesn't turn to gold right now? I do like the meme of her and Tiffany Stratton standing next
to each other compared to a scene from Wednesday. That just may be good. Oh, there's that. There's
also the beach houses where one is completely gothic and the other one is Barbie World. But if you
want to follow me on threads, that is also a vex point. We have started a list of just all of the
vignettes we want were to give you an example mildly. Tiffany Stratton takes Rear Ripley to a
Taylor Swift concert. Rear Ripley takes Tiffany Stratton to a motionless and white mosh pit.
Take a big secret. Rear takes her to hot topic. Just all of that. I would like to ask a question
about thread. Go on. Does it have the weirdest algorithm of all time? It does have a weird
algorithm, but it makes me happy. Okay, because I get random, like if thread sends to make assumptions
that may or may not be true, and it's algorithm. I will say this. It gets better. It learns.
Okay, fair enough. Similar to Instagram, it's the same aspect, but it's starting from a zero point
for you. For those of you that don't know, Rob was pre-tape this week because of the unit
European tour. They're going to be doing that again a week from Monday because they're getting
ready for SmackDown because they're getting, so it's next week on SmackDown because of Crown
Jewel. And allegedly, they're going to be doing this about once a month. So I'm actually okay with this.
And you and I briefly talked about it, but I'm kind of okay with it because it gives them
one of the knocks on WWE from a talent standpoint, which has been a reasonable aspect,
is how many dates they work. And it's been cut back a good bit, but the idea of getting people
more time off, more time to heal, more time home with family, it's just a good business decision,
because if you have healthier people, you're going to be able to do more with them.
And we have the return of the war Raiders. So close. So close. Yeah, but you know why they can't
do that, but they should. And once again, it's Hulk Hogan's fault. Now, I miss the poor machine.
And by the way, the first week of November, NXT will be moved to Wednesday, so they don't go up against
election coverage, smart. Which I thought, NXT, I don't see why they were going to do it overhaul.
Like, I could see little changes, but I still looks right. I like, I like the color scheme on that
tron. I like the bigger the world. Absolutely great. That looks fantastic. It plays in the room really
well because it kind of lights up everywhere because it's a smaller venue. It gives it more of an immersive
feel. Like, certain entrances, it's almost rave like, and I dig that. And then a week from Sunday
is how long you have it. And I'm so happy. It's actually being done as a plea. Yes, I agree 100%.
Russell dream was a thing. Alex and I did watch it in its entirety.
That was a long turn. My most private memory is watching the main event going, if I wasn't so
tired from this being too long, I feel like this would be my favorite match ever. Yeah. Brian
Cage is your new Ring of Honor television champion. MJF returns followed by Adam Page. I'm sorry,
Adam Cole. Bye, bye. Thank you. To Keshta is your new international champion. And I have to
read that very carefully because we talked about what I see whatever I see that. And Moxley is your new
world champion. I have not watched Dynamite yet. But I do know that they did announce that October 30th
will be Friday. Hmm. Who owns that? And then apparently Thunder Rosa returned on Wednesday.
Okay. So the women's division beefing up again with the return of brick baker with the
return of a while I just lose her name. Jamie Hater now with the return of Thunder Rosa.
Things are starting to move again. Yeah, I have a weird request in this circumstance because
I have started to, I don't want to say fall out of love with AEW, but after being a big
defender, I can't support some of the things that have been going on. I really want them to get a
skilled storytelling hand because this women's division is stacked with talent.
But it's kind of been dragged down by bad storytelling and not as well produced matches.
And I want to see them let these women shine more. A great because brick baker star, Jamie Hater,
star from the 70s. Tony Storm is you're not playing it unto herself.
And Will O'Night and Gayle is awesome. But we haven't really gotten anything.
And as we're super good about that. You can have that letter too as well because I miss the
alien gimmick. I know it's stupid, but I miss it. But I feel like you have so much of their TV
time bogged down in Mercedes, Monet just coming out. And I don't even think people are doing
the CEO thing anymore. It's just while they've got stale fast.
Because she's not doing anything. Like there's no like get in the ring bro.
Well, I think they're trying to do more of a less ner thing with her and it's just not working.
No. And remember the concept of less ner not wrestling was. Yeah. The, the less their thing was
trying to keep it special when they get in the ring. And then Mercedes gets in the ring against
spare number three for her month. And every one of her matches, it's, it feels like watching Floyd
May weather. It's like, oh, this is a name because of a reason, but it's 15 years to late or it's 15
years too early. And it's, I don't know if that's intentional, but if it is, they should be playing
it up more as her being like, I'm wrestling. And it's like, yeah, but yeah, we do want to send our,
our sincerest to the family and friends of Ring of Honor, Joe Koff. This is one of the guys that was
very instrumental, especially in the early days of Ring of Honor passed away this past weekend.
Seeing the outpouring of love from all over the place, just tells you alone how important this
guy was not only to Ring of Honor, but to the industry itself. That was the, either I, I woke up to
that one. Oh, man. Yeah. A very unsung hero in the history of Ring of Honor as they're
COO and making sure that the wheel stayed on and that they kept moving and growing. I mean,
under, under him and carry silk and you look at just the amount of talent that came through there.
And the ability to find younger people, give them a platform, get them to shine and,
you know, it's one of those things that sometimes people are just so good that they have to elevate.
I mean, you look at Seth Rollins getting to the bigger playing field, but he started in ROH,
Brian Daniels and started in ROH, CM Punk started in ROH, so Mojo kind of started in ROH.
Always the unsung. You did era. Mm-hmm. You know, the last two weeks and I've not watched
last night's impact or Ring of Honor. When I see it and it shows me an hour 50,
I growl. No, but the problem now is it was not a problem for me because I don't watch it live
and I can't watch the whole thing live because we do the show. They're putting the last two weeks
they have put a classic match in there and that classic match runs 40 minutes. If I am watching
Ring of Honor, I have to have Honor Club. You can't watch it any other way. So,
wouldn't those matches? I don't know. Already be there if I want to watch them. Maybe
reference. Hey, our classic match at the week is these guys and go check it out on on our club.
Because you know what I'm doing when that happens? That's forward. That's forward. That's
forward. That's forward. That's forward. That's forward. And I can only do 10 seconds at a time.
That's frustrating. Well, the interesting thing I have for I actually have an impact note
marked the calendar. I don't know how I feel about what they're doing with this title match right
now. Because you have Henry clearly a face. Nemeth, pretty much working face and then you have the
evil guest referee. Are we setting up that he's going to use his power and abuse it and make
it a three way match and somebody else is going to come in or because his area has been able to
work out the last night. I believe so. Yes. Okay. I haven't watched yet. So I can't. I don't know.
Sure. Well, but I'm talking about more along the lines of if you have a face face with a
healed special guest referee, that's a weird dynamic. I can't remember ever seen used.
Who's the guest referee? Caesarian. Oh, that's right. That's right. Yeah. But clearly working
heal anti-Hendry and Nemeth. So I don't know how this works. Storywise, but it does have me
intrigued as the uniqueness aspect. As a pattern in our industry, what I see happening is one of two things.
Caesarian won't make the count. Santino comes in and makes the count. Or Caesarian won't make the count
to force Santino to make it a triple threat. And then maybe Caesarian gets a pin, but Santino gets
distracted and can't make the counts. Okay. So you know, it's Caesarian weaseling his way into the
title match from the referee position. That makes sense. And that's what it looks. With Bob Ryder and Ryno
going into their whole of fame. So I can't be the one who's out already. Yeah, apparently they're
doing that on the pre-show. Nice. And that's the next Saturday night. Anything else you want to talk
about? That's not the only Hall of Fame thing that we had pop up. Did you see about Lexus King who
very, I'm in K-Fabe. I'm out of K-Fabe. I'm out of K-Fabe. I'm out of K-Fabe. Go ahead. Yeah, this is just
the pillman junior in me talking, but my dad in the Hall of Fame is all I've ever wanted. I can roll with that,
but it's like, also it's never your dude. I can't. No, we're at a tight 60 right now. I think we've covered
a lot. I'm going to have a report coming up on a later episode regarding a project, Sean and I have been
doing leading up to Hall of Fame. It's been a lot of fun. And if you want to know more, I'll talk to you
all of air, but I want to make sure to share with the rest of the crew because I think we're going
to make this a thing for every holiday. Cool. All right. There's a QR code over there.
I acknowledge the QR code. That's right. Everything you need there, check our website out, all the
socials, everything. Make sure that you are a member of the Patreon. We're going to have some really
cool stuff coming up for a tiered members or just trying to figure out how we're going to do that.
Again, thank you to everybody. It sounds that way. If W for having us out last Friday night at
Smokey Rose, so much fun. And the burn tens are the truth. You can follow me on your social
media. If you'd like everything, it's yes, that Rob Irvin. You can see it right.
Other side. There you go. Right there. They're over there.
The official fact checker of this show is Don Ford. I believe. I want to look at the calendar
because I don't don't get me aligned as the kids like to say to see if he's back next week or
not 24th. 24th. I'm just I just go I couldn't know what day of the week that was to. It's a
third early. Yeah, but remember, you're the guy I'm used to saying, hey, what's the date of the third
January. Right. Right. And that's part of my OCD, but it's early. So he won't be on the next
week's episode because that's that's a Thursday. So but we'll have Don back. Oh, that means how
a wean is a Thursday. We need to figure some things out. Maybe. So Charlotte Marshall is on her way
back from New York and she is on Pinterest because we are morally obligated to say that. We'll be back
to abnormal at least for the two of us next week, seven Eastern for Pacific year one stop shop for
all things sports entertainment pop culture and pro wrestling. I got to get ready to do the thing
over here. So until next time for Alex for Don for the Empire, I'm Rob Clubhouse does close.
Pretty Palmer's been just kind of chilling. Not a lot going on, but she's still active on social
media and that is what she needs in your life.
