show number 490 so close to another milestone welcome my name is Rob I am the executive producer of the clubhouse podcast and I don't like brains I like mine it's not it let's go around the day sitting in the co-host chair is the lady of the house
and she's been to a lot of places but she's also been to her she is general welcome friend hello everyone I'm glad you're back with us rounding out the day this is the official fact checker of sooner or
gator productions and a man who hears Columbus and he thinks Christopher you may know him is Igboonu but his mom and even don't
part of a calm down for the brother of course sometimes my birthday is a national holiday because it's on Columbus day I know what I'm doing sir exactly now should you call me T8 or Homer
no be T800 that's what I said no you didn't whatever we do one of these it is to review something and this is no different
rubin fly sure yeah fly sure make sure get that right 10 years later comes back to one of the movies that put him on the map because it's time for
zombie land double tap for something yes sir we got to take a great friend Brad and everybody at fonts PR for the invite
we love our vendors they take care of us and they let us see movies early so we can talk to you guys about them and you can spend your entertainment dollar wisely
now in the opening voiceover when Jesse Eisenberg's character Columbus says that it's been 10 years I said to myself I'd like to see the paperwork on that it's really been 10 years since
zombie land yeah 2009 I'm like okay well this is a thing here we go so there's he and Tallahassee played by the great
Woody Harrelson along with Wichita Emma Stone how you doing and little rock Abigail Brezlin
you still remember she was a little mason shine so mind blowing they're still fighting zombies they're still
together still together still getting her done at this point taking up residents in the White House because apparently nobody else is
why not secure still doing what they do and one day Tallahassee and Columbus wake up to find out that
the girls are gone because low rock just she wants to do things that girls her age do and which it's off
starting to feel a little closed in so they just take off in the beast which of course does not make Tallahassee happy at all
because he revamped it right so they're they're going about their normal business and the zombies have evolved they have classifications of zombies now
so while the boys are out galloping and lamenting on life they run into Madison played by the great
so we do it whose mother has been a guest on this show thank you very much you can look it up she's been living in a freezer at a
pinkberry or something of itself yeah and yeah in the mall ends up hookin up with them and it's been about a
month at that point and all of a sudden what's your talk shows back up to let them know that little rock has taken the beast
with a hippie pacifist by the name of Berkeley and they are headed to Graceland because that's one of the places that Tallahassee
talks about all the time and so little rocks like you know I like to see that so they go off in in order to
try to save her and hilarity ensues right at just a little over an hour and a half which I thought was great
yeah stick and move didn't have to be a three hour movie now and when I really also liked about this and you
guys can echo this if you want I purposely did not go back and watch the first one because I wanted to be
able to see does this can I see this and not remember much about the first one be okay you can see this
having not even seen the first one and be okay I'll be I'll be okay yeah better if you saw the
well yeah yeah but yeah and it does hold a lot of things from the first one that those of us that
really like zombie land are going to enjoy again they put the rules up on the screen and they have
the little jokes toward the zombies with the rules popping up right and I like that because it didn't
feel like for those of us that had seen the first one why do you have to keep going over this again
it they did it in a way where it's like oh yeah that's a thing and oh yeah that's a thing one

the visual graphics like the rules they had more this time of the rules than the first one
but they even said their own little kind of characteristic right I was going to say it was
just like words on a screen they almost interacted with what's going on especially between the
character between Eisenberg and well as you yeah you'll meet you meet also a couple of guys
Thomas Middletitch's character along with Luke Wilson Albuquerque and Flagstaff piece of trivia
yeah that was originally the names of Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg's character when the
first script was written okay which when you see it you'll understand why that's important but
yeah there's there's an interaction there and how the graphics were in a way starting to turn
their own character yeah even the letters did their own little oh absolutely I really yeah it's
it's like we had with the first one but it's one of those things that really made that movie what
it was but it didn't feel like it was just going to the well too much it was just part of the deal
no it was it was a refresh of things we really like I mean as I said as I said it's they followed
a formula they have one in my written review at www.clubhousepodcast.com that's our website
that it's they found a formula that works but it's not sitting there going oh I've seen this
before I've seen this before it's I enjoyed that before and I'm gonna enjoy this new version of
it without beating it into oblivion as some some film with their sequels try to do it's like oh
this work let's just do this ad nauseam where this complimented what was going on and they enhanced
that I thought they really enhanced like the visuals like the the rules and stuff and one thing
I put is basically that in my thoughts on this are that it had the foundation of the original
but it had it kind of new added more pizzazz but you it kind of felt like it still had that same
feeling style as if you left the film 10 years ago and you just want to take a break and you're
still watching that same film but it's evolved a little bit more so it's like I think you go
over to it's an extension of an extended version of the version but this one had had the roots
and stuff but it had its own newer more pizzazz which I think really made this film even so much
I really dug this out absolutely dug it's hilarity all the way throughout it's paced well enough
that at no point was I like let's just get this thing moving there's just the Gore is almost
comedic in nature and there's very little of the true Gore so it's you know if you're gonna go
there go to a place where you're gonna eat and watch the movie which we did it wasn't like oh
enjoy your dinner everybody you know it actually I believe had less Gore than the first one you know
what I was gonna say the same thing I was wondering if it was just me but they still had it in there
which I think is a great thing about it and the zombie kill the year of course they still have that
which yeah it's I mean it's it's a it's a genre of movie with these zombie movies you know the
Sean of the dead the zombie lands and now zombie land double tap it's a genre where yes it's a
zombie movie yes you're going to jump at points but you're also laughing through a good
absolutely I was hurting the next day I'd been laughing so hard the thing I loved
that interaction and relationship between the character of Tallahassee and Madison
and oh absolutely I mean which a taught in Madison oh yeah that is she and we don't want
it we don't want it too deep into it just know that so we do I just character does throw a monkey
wrench in but everything from the trailer saying she has no brains you can tell just from the trailer
how her and her style of the I see he to say it's a steer steer typical blonde you can say not
saying that all but stereotypical I think is the word you need to put on there the stereotypical blonde
trying to interact with Tallahassee's character you saw a little bit of it in the trailer but oh
they really let that thing run and they did it good and one thing I think you guys missed because
you left a little bit earlier in the credits the song that plays over the end credits which is a
cover song sung by Woody Harrelson thank you very much I just there is a mid credit scene and a
post credit scene so be prepared for that which will answer some questions that I don't want to
go into because it could be a minor spoiler but it does answer some questions that are asked not
only in the film but tie back to the first one which I thought was great there was something and
we can talk about this off air there's a I think there was a missed opportunity in the mid credit
sequence that we can talk about I just loved this film there's nothing about it I didn't love
the the climactic scene at the end seemed a little reminiscent of the the battle of Castle Black and
in in Game of Thrones a little bit there might have been a little bit of a nod to that maybe
but it was so so good I just I love this movie on every level yeah it's and it's great to have it
out at Halloween you know for those of us that want some Halloween feel but don't like to as you
like to say don't want to film the XSPN ourselves this is a good in between of those two especially
if you've got some of the kids that are maybe a little bit older because the R to me the R was
more about the language than anything else it's the same it's the same right from Deadpool and
Deadpool 2 so it's that it's and the director of them yeah and because so we reviewed a movie
last week that we could probably take the kids this one you maybe take the late teens with you
on this one if you're gonna do that as a film and I really really enjoyed this film oh yeah my
thing is how they enter there are some new characters in this like Dawson and stuff like that
and how they added these people to the storyline I think they added them well
um like in Nevada Dawson um she I think she's a good way to add some new people and she fit it well
well it didn't feel she warned in there exactly I think that's the thing there was a natural
progression to that yeah uh it's just at this film was written well it was done well visually it's
spot on I just I it's so hard not to talk too much about it because I don't want to give too much
away and that's the thing and the primary cast embraced the roles again just like they had before
it's smooth with them there's not a struggle you can tell they're a unit they work together well
and you can you it's almost like they bonded in the making of the first film and they haven't
lost that bond so that bond really is impressive that bond is 10 years strong and they just they go
with it in the relationship house they came as a family and have grown over 10 years and you could
tell there as they are now versus 10 years ago you could tell that they became and you didn't have
to do a lot of story to show it it was just there like you said it wasn't like we had to go through
and talk about everything that's happened last 10 years yeah let's go let's move it forward and
you can just see like those relationships work I mean in this film starts from the moment those
opening credits are rolling they start this thing literally yeah which yeah don't do not be late
for the start of the movie that's all we're saying yeah that that was so well that first thing
started I was like okay yep yep yep yep this is gonna be good so there's worst
film the worst songs you could play at the beginning of a movie too yeah but I'm just saying
anything else for you to file analysis name something you didn't like I'm having that ended yeah
I wanted more yeah I can think no and usually my fear sequels you know which I put again my written

I wanted to see a sequel but I was worried that it would be ghost buster doubt not not so I disagree
here because I really enjoy ghost busters too but yeah and I also enjoyed good ghost busters answer
the call all right let's get to the final analysis the way we do the final analysis on this show
we're not going to give you thumbs up thumbs down letter grades numbers kills anything like that
two questions question number one is what we see this again if the answers know then we're done
here but if the answer is yes the follow up question is how far are we willing to go to see it
from the best of the best of the worst of the best here's how it works full price at a theater
down to a twilight showing down to a matinee showing down to early morning on a weekend down to
second run at the dollar theater down to obtaining a physical copy down to streaming down to cable
general we will start with you would you see zombie land double tap yet to gain yes
there's the thing how far you willing to go to do it I would go full price
and you know me I'm gonna order it done would you see the zombie land double tap again
yippers how about you coveted cash register ring it coveted full price theater I would definitely
see the skin it's unanimous I would love to because I did see the Dolby Atmos logo on this I would
like to see this in the Dolby at the start yeah be amazing it is it is directed by Ruben Fleischer it
is a zombie land double tap for this whole thing yes sir you have to think Brad and everybody
