And when I used to play hide and seek, nobody would look for me.
But that's okay.
Joining me across the desk is the official fact checker of sooner or greater productions.
And a man who hides from the world because sometimes he needs to.

Whatever we do one of these, it is to review something and this is no exception.
New guys to the scene, but guys that have known each other for a long time.

Before we start this whole thing.

Entertainment Dollar wisely.
Let's get into it.
So this is the story of Grace played by Samara Weaving.
Uh-huh.
It's her wedding day.
Mazeltoff.
She is Mary, absolutely.
She is marrying Alex Ledomas, played by Mark O'Brien.
The Ledomas family has made their fortune in board games.
They have a very, very beautiful mansion, multiple generations.
The start is with board games with any expanded to other thing.
Right.
And franchise teolia.
They're doing a, they do very well.
Yeah.
But they have this tradition when someone new joins the family.
The family gets together in this very special room in the house.
And there's a magical box.
And a blank card goes in the magical box.
And it spits out a card with a game on it.
And at midnight, the family gathers to play this game.
And that's it.
It's not really yet.
It could be a random game.
It could be checkers.
Could be a maid.
Checkers?
You don't know.
Yeah.
So there's only one card you don't want.
Yeah.
And of course, being this movie, Grace draws Heidenseek.
Uh-oh.
Which is great.
Because it's a great game.
But there's one small problem.
Is that Heidenseek involves the rest of the family hunting her with weapons.
She has to make it to sunrise.
That's the point of the game.
And so much more.
Yeah.
Also in this film, Adam Brody plays Alex's brother Daniel.
You've got Henry Cezerni.
Now, if you don't know that name,
I want you to go back to the original mission impossible film with Tom Cruise.
And I want you to think of this particular line.
Kitchwich, you've never seen me very upset.
The guy he's talking to is Henry Cezerni.
Okay.
Also, Andy McDowell is in this as well.
Groundhog Day.
Mm-hmm.
There's so many things.
Multiplicity.
I'm from Texas.
Why do you know that?
Mm-hmm.
This runs about an hour 35.
And you're probably thinking yourself, wait a minute Rob.
This is a horror movie.
What are you doing?
And I had that question.
I did.
Let me answer that question for you.
Okay.
When I saw the trailer for this,
it harkened me back to a 2013 film called Your Next.
This is, to me, this is not a horror film.
It's suspenseful.
It's a thriller.
But it's not a horror film in the purest sense.
So I was like, okay, I think I may be able to handle this.
I think we can do this.
I've really enjoyed this movie.
I had a lot of fun with this.
So did I.
Well, you did a couple of things in there.
Because you and I actually were sitting next to each other in this one.
And there were moments where you looked at me and you made the little sound effect
that you made last week on the show.
Yeah.
The eyes and eyes and eyes and eyes.
Lost words.
And I get it.
Yeah.
But it's so hard to talk about this movie because you don't want to spoil anything.
It takes a weird turn in the third act, yeah, but it was there's only one time where I had to close my eyes
Really, because it got a little bit much for me. Okay, you'll tell me off there
The fence

Because the rest of it was just just a lot like your next it was
There was almost a comedic element
To the violence
Not not in a cartoony kind of way, but more of an oh, that's gonna leave a mark
Yeah, kind of away and so this so that's why it's easier for me to deal with
When you're looking at horror films that are about slasher's and stalkers and
People like keep open their eyes and you're they're looking right at you and they have that part of it
I'm out but when the music in the background that tries to make it scary and get your heart rough and yeah
When there's a little bit of a tongue in cheek value to it like there is here
I'm okay with it and this film does that very well the thing. I love about it is

I really like the fact that it's kind of in a way a dark comedy and
I will give you that there is some scenes

Okay, three two one
Somebody dies in this film. Wait a minute hold on walk me through this
Okay, so by the start you know what you mean you go all the way through that for that? No
People die
In these maeloms died, but when they died they did it in a way that was sometimes in a way come the quiet
There was a little bit of a comedy value
The manner or the situation of the person dying or how they died and all that stuff or the after and even where it comes back
Some of it comes back later too. Yeah. Oh, yeah, and then point where like
We're at this press screening. That was pretty full at the Angelica, which we love
There's a lot of times. What do you mean pretty full? They were turning a ton of people away. It was it was packed and how
Even critics and stuff were laughing when somebody gets killed
That's the man in a movie like this you're supposed to yes, and that's what I love the magic about it
Where they could make a dark situation and make a comical where you laugh
But if it happened in real life you'd be going oh lord. I mean, I thought this was paced really well
Yeah 90 minutes good pacing not too long not too short. It didn't drag. It's a constant go go go go go go
In a thing another put a thing I put in my review is that they're
Yes, it's a horror film, but there wasn't that bad of a suspension of disbelief in it
No, it kept it on the rails. I mean, there's a couple of things you like that might take a little bit of time to do but overall
For this type of film, especially disc leave was was incredible. There's no animals dropped on anyone or a fan
No, I just thought this film was a lot of fun. Oh, so did I I had a good time with it
There's there when we see some scary films mean the fantastic faithful you yeah, no, there's no we in that
Talk about me in my the my great wife the fantastic faith. You're lovely wife. Yeah, so sometimes when there's a film when one of those scenes is kind of scary
Or they should kind of grab me by the leg and put her my the arm and then she'll put her head against my shoulder and start kind of laughing or
Gripping me and she did a couple times at the funny parts. So she cut even laughed
So she enjoyed it, which kind of make me happy about the whole thing, but
Now of course, I don't see any acting nominations next year. I don't think that was the intent here
So now, but I will give it out there are a couple of rules, which I really enjoyed
I think there's a couple so like Melanie
Scrofano who plays Emily that was one of the mentioned. Yeah, how she has a little nasal issue
Look at yeah, didn't how
Christian Braun with the other one you mentioned a brun. I'm sorry. Yeah, the the gentleman who's like wanting to learn how to use a crossbow
And we're looking on YouTube and not going you after the mission
He's like, I just want to figure out how to do this. He's just here kind of for the ride and did it in a comical way
But Scrofano, I loved her and she had to learn how to use a weapon safely. That's the best way I could say on that
Oh, absolutely
And lastly, I think
Rostin did pretty decent too
As the kind of butler man John Ralston. Yeah, I don't play Stevens
But the kind of turning effect was Brody too. I think he did get on his acting and they played that guy who's kind of
Adam Brody played Alex's brother Daniel. Yeah, kind of in that middle situation. You could say but
The thing and this is going to be totally spoiler free, but I loved the end the last couple minutes the
You could say the big finale
I thought the ending how they ended the situation and answered the question was
Yeah, I guess it takes a weird turn in the third out. So get ready for that. See that comment
But it's like okay, and again laughter with you know bad events happening is the best way to see this just now granted
It's rated R
Yes, and I think it's more rated R for the language than it is anything else. Well, no the violence
Well, there's a little bit, but a lot of it's comic violence, but a lot I mean you hit the rated R for for language within the first two minutes
Well, I'm not doing the wedding thing though as she's preparing absolute
That's right. You're right on that
But the thing how like for instance where the after effect with the
Uh-huh. I yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. One of the first kills. Yeah, I can say that
And that was comical but still of course. Yeah
This is one I don't think you'd want to show at the church overnight for the teens. Oh, yeah, okay
I mean you've done the research. I'll I'll defer to you. This is one I would not recommend to my pastor for the team that a church
But this it's still a lot of and this is the kind of film don't go by yourself bring a group of people
and have fun with it and because that we you can experience this together
Which I guess is going to lead us to the final analysis and the way we do the final analysis on this show
We're not going to give you a thumbs up thumbs down
We're not going to give you a letter grades numbers cross-bow shots anything like that
Up to two questions question number one is would we see this film again if the answers know that we're done here
But if the answer is yes, the follow-up question becomes how far are we willing to go to do so from the best of the best of the worst of the best here are

Full price to the theater
Down to a toilet show don't do a matinee down to early morning on a week in
Down the second one of the dollar theater down to actually physically purchasing it down
Distreaming it down to cable don't would you see ready or not again? Oh definite
How far you want to go to do it? I'm gonna recommend this as a afternoon or twilight have fun with it take the
You know, I can't give the cover
I had a lot of fun with it, but you have to be the right genre don't go in for a you know
Taking the little kids for a little thing. No, I agree. I would definitely see this again
I'm I'm I might go a little twilight
I might go a little step above you, but make sure you go with a big group of people so you can all experience this together because this movie is a lot of fun
