show from my childhood called New Zoo Review.

Let us dive right in.
Don was gone for like three and a half months as he was on a European tour.
Now Don, remember, this is only a 90 minute show you get to.
Yeah.
So let's talk about your experiences in the UK with your lovely wife for about half
of August.
So we went out there to celebrate the fantastic Faith Fords 50th birthday.
And again, thank you Rob for doing that birthday compilation and Oxford being part of
that is really special.
They did surprise me for meeting my mother-in-law for the first time.
They brought her in.
It did not tell me.
They brought her from Nigeria.
And she has six siblings and five of the six were there.
And this surprised me of our bringing Chris to bell up.
So now I've met every sibling in person, which is incredible.
They did a ceremony since the mom was there officially putting me in the family, which
was incredible.
So I feel very honored in that aspect.
We spent a lot of the time in Manchester, the England England.
And first off, I want to say this right now, we're never going to fly Virgin Atlantic Airlines
ever again.
They wanted to charge us $800 to check three bags in and the two carry-ons.
So yeah, we never fly Virgin, don't care.
But so I'll say this, we since we were staying with family and stuff like that, we didn't
say to hotel, we weren't by where the rail stations is.
But we went around through Manchester a lot using Uber's.
And believe it or not, you wanted to go, let's say I'll give you equivalent of Dallas.
So she wanted to go to Irving to Allen.
The Uber probably cost you about nine pounds, which is about $10.
That's not bad at all.
No, no.
You could go, let's say equivalent of Grand Prairie to Addison, it'd be eight pounds.
But the Uber driver gets like 90% of that money, just really.
But they have to be licensed and all that.
They have to go through a whole thing and get approved and have their own Uber thing.
So it's like getting away.
Yeah, I apologize.
I just want to clarify, is it Uber Uber or is it like the British equivalent?
Oh, Uber Uber.
I just want to clarify that it wasn't an Uber substitute.
No, it's the Uber app.
My wife used the same Uber app the entire time.
Except we, one thing we helped us out is our brother-in-law lettuce.
With his bank, they can get multiple accounts.
He opened one for us and we had a debit card.
So we're able to put US money into those funds and then use that debit card without being
in the international exchange and being jabbed on that entire time, even with the Uber's.
Now, John?

It's face brother-in-law, right?
No, my brother-in-law, face brother.

I think it was face brother-in-law.

There's a term for that and it's called your co-brother-in-law.

So then what happened is, so it was, we did a lot some, I went to the cabaret shop.
I literally brought back 50 pounds of cabbary.
Okay.
I'm not kidding.
And you want your brother-in-law to charge you 900 bucks to bring it up?
We still had it under the 23 kilos on each of the bags.
You know what I'm saying?
Well, did we only check three bags?
Just let's get the first one.
We're hurrying.
How does it not melt at the point?
Well, because number one, it's in the UK where it's only 70 degrees the whole time.
It never got to 108.
Number two is that when you get into air 30,000 feet, it's pretty cold up there.
You know what I'm saying?
It's, you know, you've got a Porsche's third.
Yeah, so, but I'll say this, the driving was really weird
because they're driving literally on the other side of the road.
And the driver's side, the driver's side and driver are on the opposite side.
So when you sit in the car, usually in America, the driver's on the left.
And the passenger's on the right.
It's vice versa.
And so there's no way I would even think about driving out there.
It was crazy.
But I can see much wrecks, much interstate, but they're very low.
Very, the streets are very thin, not very thick.
Trying to get two humbies across opposite directions in the UK would not work.
That's where they're smaller cars.
Houses, they build up in their very compact.
A good size American house would have two houses in the UK.
And they're also all brick because of the fire, the 1612 made a law
that houses have to be brick out there now.
But we have a good dinner with the family, that kind of thing.
The, I will say, we went to a small town you may have heard of called Rexham.
Never heard of it.
Never heard of it.
Yeah.
Is that in England?
Actually, Wales.
Technically, it's in Wales.
That's not unusual.
We met Amon in Rachel, who went to Jersey.
We got a Christmas.
We had dinner with them.
It's great set with Amon.
They were saying on Rexham how, usually two years ago,
there'd be 2,000 people in the stands.
When we were there, it was pretty full.
It was 10,100 people because of the show and everything.
And it kicks off Tuesday.
Yeah.
And they got up to a higher league, which was great.
They were.
So, I mean, that's just new.
I mean, that's the spoiler alert for the next season.
That's a joke, don't.
Because that's when they announced season two.
That was the picture of two of them holding the trophy.
And it's in spoiler alert for season two.
Yeah, wow.
I mean, it made the news they moved up.
And so, the stands are doing, there's four sides,
and they're redoing one side at a time each time.
The team's, the traveling team always has a section,
and that was full, and they got rowdy.
And they had a separate interest for them too.
And I always keep those kind of people separate
and all the soccer games out there.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
The show does not do the town justice
on how awesome the people were and how nice they were.
I hit the pub.
I had a beer there.
We also met people with the pub featured in the show
and happy.
That's a little next door to the stadium.
That's cool.
We got off the, we took a rail from Manchester to Rexham.
And the thing I noticed on a rail, we also took the London
is that when you go through the countryside,
I just had earbuds in and listened, and I just watched,
and I just looked at the countryside.
But the thing I noticed is that all the countryside is used,
whether for farming or the houses or whatever,
there's no empty plain land.
Like you could drive through Nevada
and there's desert land all over the place.
There they used, it's such a small island
that they used all the space basically,
which is kind of surprising.
If I had a gripe about Rexham though,
it was the internet service in that town's horrible.
Okay.
We, the hotel we stayed at, it was kind of cool.
We got off the train station, went up a hill,
which was about 30, 40 feet.
And then there's the hotel 100 feet away.
And then on the other side, 150 feet is the stadium.
So we got in, hit the store ahead of time.
We checked in the motel, then walked to the stadium,
took some photos, had the beer, hit the store.
And then we went back, then we had Metamon and Rachel,
and we had dinner, then we saw the game.
The thing in English soccer is you're not allowed
to drink alcohol in stands.
You're going drinking in the back always.
Really?
Yeah.
You could take water, but they take the cap off,
you could take soda, but they have no beer in there.
And that's the only thing that I'll take English people
away from their beer is that soccer's playing.
As soon as they're starting, they clear out.
They'll go to the beer and go out, because soccer's playing.
It's about to start.
So they like, in Rexham, how this show has really helped them
and everything, but for the locals,
the only thing that's one of the downsides is,
and when they wanted to get tickets for a friend,
it's kind of tough now, because everybody wants them.
One other grab, which I agree with,
is the team is building their fandom around the world.
We went and gone there with the boys and for the show.
And I got this jersey here.
This is their practice jersey, form of jersey for this year.
The thing is that they don't have a ton
of merchandise available, even in the store
is trying to find out how they keep selling out.
Yeah, but they should, with the fandom around the world,
you go on their website, it's like,
this is sold out, that's sold out.
They should double the production of the, of the jerseys,
because they would still sell anyways.
That's the gripe of the people there.
In fact, when there was one jersey, we got the white jersey,
the new away jersey.
They limited us on those.
You can only take two, you wanna get three, no.
No, we had to have somebody go act
and get that jersey in the store later,
because I said, what about my wife?
Nope, nope, nope, you together, what's in me too?
Because it just came out yesterday, that kind of thing.
It's like, what?
How are we still at it?
I know, but still, you know, the team's growing,
but other works that's available.
But I get why they do that,
because they don't want people buying a bunch of bump
and then triple the price on eBay.
But even on the internet though,
you know, that's a gripe, even the local people are like,
you know, they don't get much merchandise
versus what they should do, I think.
Alex has a question, yeah.
Do you think it's really the fact
that they're limiting production in any way,
or is it because one of the things
that they showed in season one is how tight knit
that community is, how it is very much,
do you think it's because the people making their kits
are local and they can only have so much bandwidth?
Because the future of everything
is gonna be going to companies like fanatics.
Let's be honest.
They have figured out the model of let us handle all of that.
It'll be available online,
but with there being the limited availability
of rec some gear, do you think it's because
they're using a company that might be smaller?
They could still get more production in.
I still think.
Well, the problem is is that if they're using
a smaller company, they absolutely can't.
But that's why I'm saying,
did you see anything about it being a local company
that's making their stuff?
No, I didn't.
No, because they said that we just got these in the other,
and so like the stuff that came in.
So that's my, I think the only graph that they had though.
But it's a small town, there's a main street,
we went to dinner and people are drinking in four,
having dinner before a great time.
They won four to, was a four to one,
if I remember, four to two.
But they, and they just moved up to,
which I like to, then we went back to Manchester,
had the big dinner,
it's a birthday celebration for the wife,
then we went to London to finish our trip up
for the end part of the trip.
And in London, we use the rail system there,
because we're seeing it in a hotel and stuff,
and it's a good rail system.
It's very complicated up front,
but once you figure it out,
it's a really good rail station,
and it was talk I'll see a punk out lost on a rail station,
I understand why, okay?
Because that can get,
once, until you figure it out,
once you figure out the, they call it the tube,
because it's most of it's underground, 90%.
Like I said,
but then we went to base team is Chelsea,
and we did see a Chelsea match,
did the VIP stuff ahead of time,
that kind of thing.
And one thing we went to the store, can you see this?
Igboonu had this made for me.
Chelsea Jersey this year.
So I haven't bring that up for that,
but we both had a jersey made.
She put faithy on hers,
and I put a Igboonu online,
and I put the 19 for our first date night,
and she put 23 for a wedding anniversary.
Now at any point, Don, did you look around and say,
you sound like you're from London.
Nah, I didn't do that.
Okay.
I was with Emma,
when I was playing my pen pal,
I went to London, I stayed with her back in 94.
I've known her for 30 years now.
We met up with her, had with her dopti kids and all that,
and she kind of showed around the first day.
Went to the tower of London.
One thing is when you go into the sea,
the crown jewels, no photos.
They have people in every room,
and they're like, you put the camera away,
don't even think about bringing it out.
And you know,
because they have to be very secure,
but that was very interesting to see that.
Of course, the rail station will take you right there.
We went to Big Ben and Parliament.
So it's real beautiful when you see it in real life.
The picture is not the only goal.
And what's Mr. Abby is like,
two blocks away from Big Ben,
10 Downing Street.
The way you can see it,
because this street's basically gated off.
That's about three blocks in Parliament.
So a lot of that's in there,
and we did the eye,
which is a couple blocks away also.
That big Ferris wheel that goes around,
they call it the eye out there.
That was one of the things she wanted to see.
Chelsea, seeing that game was incredible.
The one thing is,
I always wonder what would be like
to be in a stand-staring one of those games
and then understand now why?
It was the crowds going that's the entire time.
They're chanting the entire time.
Even the way team are chanting the entire time,
they have a way to stand in there.
Let me ask you something.
Yeah.
And you'll forgive me.
Yeah.
I'm honest to God.
Yes.
I'm not doing a bit.
I'm not poking there.
Yes.
Have you been to an MLS game before,
an MLS match, like FC Dallas?
No.
Okay, so the reason I was asking was,
I was looking to see if you could do a compare and contrast
because I know it's two completely different meals
because that's their thing over there.
Yeah.
But I do believe that MLS tries to encapsulate
some of that spirit.
Yeah.
I do it in an FC Dallas match.
And it is an absolute exercise in my ADD.
It has like four different drum lines
at any given moment doing stuff.
And I'm trying to concentrate on the match
and there's a lot going on in the stands.
And I was just wondering how much of that spirit is there?
Huge.
Huge.
That's why I was so incredible.
Well, no, no, no.
He's saying compared to MLS, which is why what I want to throw in
is I think we should have a homework assignment
for you, Don, since you're the only one of us
that has seen true English football.
Indeed.
You should go to FC Dallas, whenever you can,
go to a match and then come back to us
with a report on the comparing contract.
The stadium's about a third of the thighs,
but it's a lot of fun.
I very much, I've only been once,
but I very much enjoyed the match I saw there.
But Chelsea, we did the VIP package
where we got to go out the tunnel where they come out.
And we had the dinner, met some past players
and stuff like that.
The thing was we're in the VIP section,
which is a top tier with those tickets.
And the thing is it's on the fifth level.
And the problem is one gripe with Chelsea Inter Stadium
because they've been using the same stadium entire time
since 1905 when the team came together.
No escalators.
So you had to do five bites of stairs,
and that kind of, yeah, they had to elevate it for the paralyzed,
but that's it.
So you get up, there's no escalators.
Yeah, so that was one of my gripes there
about that is no escalator.
I will say that they were,
and we learned a history of this, which is pretty funny.
It was, they, they have a chosen name
that came between two names.
And one was Chelsea, which they'd,
on the coin flip one, and did chose Chelsea.
They called the Chelsea Football Club or CFC.
When you say CFC, everybody knows that's Chelsea out there.
Right.
The other team that they were going to flip on is Carrington.
So think of Carrington, what a one.
The people be wondering if they were big dynasty fans?
No, KFC. Get it? CFC. KFC.
Oh, I didn't know that was Carrington.
Oh, you see you didn't clarify how Carrington was spied.
It's where it's in my went to a C.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
And now Don, you mentioned meeting some legends from Chelsea
was Roy Kent there.
I did not see him. No, no. Okay.

Roy Kent, I'm meddling you just a little bit on Ted Lasso
that I've told you that you should watch.

Yeah. Um, so the one thing also that kind of bugs me is no AC
in about 90% of England. They have the heaters, but if he
gets hot there and they got humid in the hotel we're at, which
was nice. And the one in the one of Rex and the premiere in
which is kind of a chain kind of like quality in bit a little bit
higher, but I would say like double tree, but between the two.
They did have AC in that room, which was nice.
But a lot of hotels they'll say we have AC, some don't.
A lot of homes like all the homes we're at were the family
and stuff. There's no AC.
But usually only gets up to 70 degrees anyways.
Right. That's why they don't have to have some.
Yeah. Everything's nice and cool.
Um, then one thing that it was really big one around there was the
women hitting the world cup final, the English women, and that
was a huge story out there, a huge story.
Um, and so you know, we're kind of room for them since we're
out there at the time.
Um, so it was we're seeing we had a, you know, standard trip.
Of course, we talked about all in on the other show.
Um, but seeing some of that, the Chelsea scene, what that made
faith happy, her senior family, stuff like that.
Um, oh, one other thing that kind of bugged me though, you'd be
driving down the road and it's see, uh, for here in the US, it's
a office space for lease or for rent, right?
That's the normal US.
You'd see a science as for rent or for the terminology.
Yeah. Yeah.
Office space to let.
Yeah.
Well, you have a question in the chat, Don from Mike.
Uh, how about compared to any sports here in America?
Actually, we're going to put this on the screen.

Um, I would say this that you take it a football game, American football
and how there's tailgating out there and stuff like that.
They have the same amount of tailgating, but once you get into the stand,
it's the, the fans are constant chant, constant thing.
Go, go, go, it's all about the soccer.
They will stop the beer to see soccer.
So yes, you can have, imagine the times when in a football game,
it's two minutes left in the fourth and you win that touch, you get that
touch down to put your four points ahead.
That's the atmosphere during the entire game in England from whistle to whistle.
Yeah, whistle to whistle, the towns, there was constant drum beatings and stuff
like that from some of the away teams and stuff like that.
Even, uh, and I think I like about the Premier League.
They took on their town, Littentown when we're out there.
The, that's a team that was in the lower league last year.
And how you stay in the top Premier League is your record.
If you start to drink, they actually, you go to level B.
Don't say it is premier.
Premier's fancier.
Yeah, but there will be teams that like this, like there were three teams that
moved up off the off season because they had such a good record.
And three teams that went down because they were ballman last year.
So I kind of like that idea how teams could go from level A to level B if you're not
playing good.
So we talked about two champions.
Yeah.
We talked a lot about that when the XFL came back around, how the NFL could
really kind of do the kind of sand because I love the concept of promotion
relegation.
Yeah, absolutely.
I'm on board with it.
We need to adopt it.
I'm just saying then there's no such thing as tanking when you're going to lose
money because of losing.
Yeah.
And it's one of a couple of things world fast is going into Costco and seeing
liquor everywhere was kind of weird.
And I mean, in the store, you know, let's, okay,
don't let's kind of be clear on that.
Yeah, that does happen here.
They have a stuff like Costco have a site.
No, but like where we're Alex and I are from.
Yeah, it's right there in the store, too.
I heard like you're just, you're just used to the way Texas does.
Yeah.
Mm hmm.
There are people around the country that are like, that's every day.
Now one of the big chains in Florida, public has its own little dot built into
it.
But most of the stores, it's just right there.
Mike has another question for you, Donald.
So the stadium's catered a higher end seating where the executives of those
seats will not be caught yelling on camera.
That's kind of a fair point, I think unless you're watching Ted Lassa.
Well, I'll say this like in the, when we went direct,
some seeing the, we were in that newer stand and up there, there was a couple
like sweets.
And if Ryan Reynolds, there he is probably up there.
But again, it's, they just got the lights up.
That team was about to die.
I mean, there's get 2000, they covered that in depth in the show.
Yes.
And that's where they're so glad the thing turned around.
And they're going to be basically having new stadium over time, like the
problem of Chelsea's, they're not, it's, they're seats 44,000.
They're not going to, they're going to keep that stadium as long as humanly
possible, but they want to expand it.
And that's the hard part because it's that tradition of, this is where we've
been playing for over a hundred years.
This is where, but they always do a lot upgrades and stuff like that.
But seeing that sort of thing, one of the things when we did shopping,
though, also is when we went in to get a cart, there's a little connectors
between the cars to release your car.
You have to put a pound in and squeeze the thing and releases it.
Kind of like it, I think Aldi does Aldi does that.
And then when you put the car, there's a number of places in Florida that do
that as well.
Yeah, then when you put the car back, you, you connect it, you get the pound
back, you know, but someone wants to still cut this, cut the thing.
But, you know, there's a weird stuff, seeing weird stuff out there.
You can't get here and vice versa.
It's like, is there any play?
Has Gatorade?
I only saw a little bit of power even that was it.
We did bring back a lot of chocolate.
We brought back some gifts from faith.
They've brought back some jerseys, the, again, the Cadbury's, which for the people
don't know, Cadbury is an American, like we get here, the Cadbury eggs.
They're made by the Hershey Company and Pennsylvania.
It's a different chocolate.
They didn't, they were, you mentioned that on Facebook.
Yeah.
So literally the Cadbury's getting a store here is not true Cadbury.
So that's why we brought back so much.
And next weekend at the show, someone in this room might be getting a little
bit.
So these people in the room, you know, so I say we're not in the same room.

But literally we, I brought back seven bottles of liquor, but I did claim them allegedly,

And it was 118 because of all the heat that comes off that track effects.
Because there's like shopping and stuff all around it.
So yeah, it's a beautiful, beautiful area.
And I think that's the track they featured in Logan Lucky, too.

I think we had quite a, quite a bit going on.
Looks like almost everybody finished the race.
True acts only made it three laps.
But everybody in the top 24 did finish the race today.

Christopher ring my bell in the number 20 Toyota starts in the pole position,
but finishes eight.
