We've got the clock on the east coast for a clock on the west coast that is the 29th
of October in the year of our Lord, 2023, season 14, episode 10, 645 times. You have been
welcomed to the clubhouse podcaster one stop shop for all things sports, entertainment
and pop culture live remotely every Sunday night. It's what we do. Three in a row. I think
probably more than that. Welcome. My name is Rob. I am the executive producer of the clubhouse
podcast. And it may be a little early to start singing this, but the weather outside
is frightful. Alex out on assignment this week. We're hoping to have him back next week.
That way for me is the official fact checker of sooner or greater productions and a man
who much like me did not change his shirt between shows because the man's not going to
tell us what to do. You may know him is it, but his mom and even don't part. I'm going
to call him Don Ford. Hey, man. I didn't the fantastic faith forward was sleeping in the
bedroom. Don't want to go there trying to wake you're up and everything. So, I mean,
I've been thoughtful to the wife. The masses will understand. Understandable. Actually,
I turned the heater on finally for the first time. I did as well this morning because the
highs in the 40s tomorrow. Let me see what the latest update is here on the weather in
the Metroplex because yeah, we do weather to. Let's see here. Hi tomorrow. It's currently
44 here in the Metroplex. Hi tomorrow. Oh, it's up to 51 tomorrow. A little bit. And
the rain should be done. So sports entertainment and local weather. Right. So we don't want
to run the tits. Riveting people get their money to work out of this show traffic. Just
I don't know. Look at it. Before we get back to week, we have some sad news in the pop
culture world. Last month, I got to work at Giganticon in Colleen, Texas and did a panel
with some comic book artists, one of whom was scheduled to be at Dallas comic show here
in a couple of weeks. Steve Irwin, ERWIN passed away this past week comic bar artist. Most
of you would know him as the guy that did the comic book adaptation of Batman Returns.
I did a panel with him that also had James O'Barr, the man responsible for the Crow.
And I got them to talk about the difference between having your material turned into a movie
versus a movie turned into material you had to do. And it was a great conversation.
Passed away suddenly this week. And we want to send our best out to his friends and family.
Very nice man. Very much enjoyed talking to him. Hope and maybe we can get, I don't
think there's any footage available, but a great guy by all who knew him. We want to send
something out to them. We got a bunch of those this week done. We'll get to those as the show
goes on. Heck of a week in the world of sports. The World Series is two games in. I don't want to
talk about baseball, but we do want to acknowledge the retirement of Dusty Baker. I did not know,
and I don't know if you knew this done. Dusty Baker is widely known as responsible for the first
high five. Really? He was a player. Great manager, great, but he will be in the Hall of Fame
multiple times. So our best to Dusty Baker. Guess what next Sunday is done?
The day after the World Series will end for sure. We'll see, but that's not what I was referring to.
Because if it goes to game seven, that'll be Saturday.
But next Sunday is also the NASCAR championship done. Okay. I was going to say that we know,
we know who the final four are. Okay. After today's race at Martinsville, it was the Xfinity 500.
Here are your top 10 finisher. Starting in 17th, winding up in 10, the number 38 Ford Todd,
there is a ballman Gilliland. I don't know if you've ever said his name. Starting in 21st and
finishing up 9th, a name we haven't said in a very long time Austin Cindrick made with Hudson.
He was in the number two Ford starting in 18th, winding up in eighth in the number 17 Ford.
Be sure. Be sure. Be sure. Christopher ring my bell. Number 20 Toyota starts in seventh and breaks even.
Starting in fifth, winding up in sixth, Kyle Larson gave managerity.
Number 22 Ford starting in 15th and winding up in fifth is Joey Laganol.
Chase Briscoe County Junior starts in the bronze position, winds up in fourth and the
number 14 Ford number 11 Toyota switches place starts and fourth winds up in the bronze with
Denny Moons over my hamlin. Starting in 12th and finishing in second in the number 10 Ford Eric
Almarola and winning this race, the Xfinity 500 in Martinsville Speedway in the number 12 Ford
starting in 11th and then finishing first the stone Ryan Blaney. So Don, are you ready for your
final four? Yes. One of these four drivers next week at this time will be crowned your NASCAR
champion for this year. They are as follows and it's winner take all or top ranker takes all
because everybody still racing. The poet William Byron,
attorney at law Kyle Larson, Christopher Ring My Bell, and today's winner, the stone Ryan
Blaney. It's all the marbles next Sunday at the appropriately named NASCAR Cup Series
Championship at Phoenix Raceway. We started even at this point then now the final four.
Four of them has the best race next Sunday. Not necessarily winning because there's other people
in there too. Yeah, the one who finishes closest to first wins the thing then. Well, you got to
there's also the laps led in the stages and stuff. So whoever gets the most points next Sunday.
Okay, but it'll be 312 laps 312 miles. It will be on your NBC affiliate proper at three o'clock
I'm my money's on the stone. I like the stone a lot, but I also like the poet.
So we'll have to see what happens by this by the time we're on here next week this should be done.
Okay, so be ready for it. How long is their break? It's only like two or three months, right?
Daytona will be in late February. So about three and a half months.
Are they announced the
if they've got the data if you had hold on. If I learn to type. February 18th, 2024 is Daytona.
Okay, so get ready for that. NC double a football this week, another crazy week.
Alex F.I.U. I'm not Alex's F.I.U. I apologize. They're beaten by Jacksonville State 41 to 16 Liberty with a win.
Alex doesn't like them either. Virginia Tech wins over Syracuse. Let's see. Number four Florida
State with another win over Wake Forest 41 to 16. Alex's F.A.U. Owls beat the Charlotte 49ers 38 to 16.
Number 22. Kansas beats number 10. Oklahoma by five. Number 25. Kansas State 41. Nill over Houston, Houston,
Houston. A&M wins by 13. Over South Kalana. SMU beats Tulsa by 59 points as they're getting ready to
upgrade their conference. Penn State 3324 over Indiana. West Virginia beats UCF by 13.
Miami Hurricanes back in their winning ways that they got to go to overtime to beat Virginia by three.
North Carolina State 2417 over Clemson. See what else we got going on. Sparty loses to Minnesota as
they continue to slide. Nebraska wins pretty big over Purdue. Number seven Texas 35 to 6 over BYU.
Number six Oregon keeps winning as they beat number eight Utah 35 to 6.
Louisville number 15 shows Duke the door 23 to nothing. Noter Dame with another win 58 to 7 over pit.
Number one Georgia does win the world's largest cocktail party. 43 to 20 over by beloved Gators.
That game may be moving. That stadium going under some renovations so that may be in a different
place next season. Number 24 USC sucks to have the under as they beat Cal 50 to 49.
It's 99 points, Don. Tulane beats Rice by a safety. See Boise State with a big win over Wyoming.
Number five Washington over Stanford 42 to 33. Number 19 Tennessee 3327 over Kentucky.
Air Force beats Colorado State by 17 Ohio State beats Badger, Badger, Badger, Badger by two touchdowns.
UCLA puts 12 extra on Colorado as they lose again. Ole Miss number 11 337 over Vandy.
Oklahoma State wins big over Sincie James Madison is ranked on in college football. Wow.
Number 23 there are complaining because they should be able to go for the playoff.
But the NCAA rules say you must be in division one for three years. This is their third year.
Okay, but again, you're beat old dominion by a field goal.
San Jose State ranks Hawaii and number 16 Oregon State upset by Arizona by a field goal.
In the NFL. Let me go ahead.
You're James Madison's schedule. You ain't gonna buy much for other trust.
No, I'm not saying that. Hold on.
To my computer.
Like Air Force, they're they're undefeated. They're on number 17.
But again, yeah, you got to beat somebody of note.
I know that's what I'm saying, but it's kind of Air Force, how often is Air Force ranked,
especially in the top 20?
You usually you'll have at least one service academy every now and again.
Get in there. But yeah, 17 and be undefeated this time of year, you know.
So it was announced this week. I now I blame HBO Max or Max that is currently known
for the shellacking my dolphins took last week.
Because they were announced this week to be your in season hard knocks.
Oh, during the mid season.
So I blame them for the beating we took last weekend.
That's their fault.
Because hard knocks, that's why it's okay since hard knocks.
It's okay.
Our pick them updates right now.
Alex and I are now one two.
I am 10 points behind him.
We are currently tied for the week for week eight with 70 points of peace.
It's going to be an interesting. He's only one game ahead of me.
So I need one game difference so that I can at least catch him.
We'll see how that goes. Fantasy update.
My steam is still terrible.
Let's look at week eight currently going on.
Let me refresh the page to make sure I have the most updated information
because the late games are running late tonight.
545 in the fourth quarter in a game that I don't think any of us had correct.
Denver is beating Kansas City Don.
I saw that.
And Alex had the chiefs minus seven and a half.
He's not going to win.
What's the score?
As I saw, 14 and 9 at 319 currently, 21 to 9.
Oh, it's 14 and 9 earlier.
With less than three minutes to go, Baltimore is all over Arizona.
31 to 15.
Baltimore was giving 9 and a half.
I believe all of us had Baltimore in that particular game as well.
Let's see.
And Cincinnati all over the 49ers.
It's 31 to 17 inside the two minute warning.
I am actually working against myself because I have San Francisco's defense
and I am starting Joe Burrow.
Tonight, bears at chargers.
Don, we currently have chargers minus nine and a half.
What are you thinking?
I can take the bears.
I will as well.
Tomorrow night.
The autumn wind is right now.
As Las Vegas goes to Detroit,
Detroit giving them seven and a half.
You know what?
Give me Detroit in this.
They look good.
I think they'll win by like eight or nine.
And this thing will barely cover.
I take Detroit.
Alex has the lines minus nine.
So that line has moved.
So Thursday night Tampa Bay and a hard breaker at the end
lose to Buffalo 24 to 18 today.
Alex had the Cowboys minus six and a half.
He didn't need it because Dallas beats the Rams by two,
three touchdowns at a safety.
43 to 20 over under was 44 and a half.
Dallas almost had that by themselves.
Minnesota 24 to 10 over green Bay today.
Atlanta falls to Tennessee.
I believe I had that one because the Falcons.
The Falcons are giving them two and a half.
New Orleans giving two and a half to Indianapolis on the road
didn't need it because they win by 11.
Miami all over the Patriots by two touchdowns.
They bit of a slow start.
But it's not how you start Don.
It's how you finish.
Exactly.
Jets Giants go to overtime in a crazy game.
Now Don.
Yeah, listen over under in this game.
It was 34 and a half.
It did not hit.
This game, the Jets win in overtime 13 to 10
in a game that had 27 punts, Don.
27.
Haven't even get to 23 points total of 27 punts.
Very carefully.
A lot of kicking.
Jacksonville Beacher Pittsburgh Steelers today.
I think all of us were actually,
I don't think you took Pittsburgh.
I think Alex and I took the Jaguar.
I took the Jaguars.
I remember that.
Philly almost gives one away to Washington on the road.
Carolina gets it gets their first win of the year over Houston, Houston,
Houston and then Seattle wins in Cleveland by four.
Let's go to week nine, Don.
Let's do it.
You're going to you're going to pull up the lines here.
Oh, I thought you I was going to open to minus nine and a half.
So that would hit chiefs may or may not.
And yet, Cal boys had Panthers plus three.
They ended up winning that game as well.
Next week is week nine.
Nine, right?
Week nine, Doc's favorite week.
Yes, nine on the buy next week.
San Francisco Jacksonville Detroit and Denver.
Thursday night of fair takes place at
Acque Puncture Stadium.
As the Tennessee Titans,
visit your Pittsburgh stillers.
Accus the state.
They change an age state.
Okay, not that science field.
Oh, well, all right, um, go, Don.
I forgot.
Okay, uh, Steelers are negative four.
I'll take the Steelers on that they they won't revenge.
I think the Steelers play this game well.
I I will actually take Tennessee plus the four.
I think this comes down to a field goal.
Okay, uh, Dolphins will be at the chiefs next week.
That is a game overseas because that game is at 830 in the morning.
I believe it is in is it in Berlin?
Okay, is that where that game is done?
Deutsche Bank Park.
That sounds like Germany to me.
Well, let me do it.
But the line is, um, uh, Kansas City by negative two and a half.
And it's in Frankfurt.
And that game will be on NFL network.
Uh, what was the line on that?
Uh, chiefs minus two and a half.
Do you mean the Dolphins?
Well, it's two and a half.
I think my dolphins can win this game.
I think chiefs will be on the rebound.
I'll take them all right.
Minnesota goes to Atlanta.
As we get into your noon games on the Fox.
Falcons are negative one.
Falcons negative one.
Um, oh, great.
We got our first bot in the chat.
That's pretty awesome.
Brian's here, though.
And that guy, that guy came from, uh, from Twitch.
Brian's good to see you, brother.
They do going well.
It's, uh, it's been raining here for a few days.
But we need the rain is going to be cold tomorrow.
Uh, what are we doing?
Minnesota, Atlanta, Don.
Atlanta is negative one.
I'm going to take a Minnesota Minnesota with the point.
I would take Minnesota with the point as well.
Atlanta's just the, the, the downward spiral has be gone.
Uh, let's see.
Arizona goes to Cleveland.
Okay, the browns.
Okay, uh, Cleveland is negative seven and a half.
I'll take Cleveland.
I will too.
The Arizona looked terrible today.
Josh Dobbs.
God love him.
He's doing the best he can.
Kyler Murray may be back.
But that first game is going to be rusty.
Rams go to
the frozen.
Tundra.
A lambo feed.
Because it is that year.
Okay, the, the Rams are negative one and a half.
I'm going to take the packers.
Take the point in the half.
Yeah, giving Green Bay as well.
The Rams are in a free fall and can't seem to figure out how to get that.
This is November and Green Bay.
It's going to get cold up there.
It's outside.
I'm going to go to Gillette Stadium to play the Patriots.
There are five wins between these two teams.
Oh, wow.
That's going to be the game of the week.
All right.
New England is negative two and a half.
I'll take them.
Give me Washington.
As bad as Washington is, New England is that much worse.
Also in new central next Sunday,
Chicago goes to New Orleans.
Oh, dear.
New Orleans are negative five and a half.
This will move because the bears haven't played yet.
Pardon me, I need to get a drink of my beverage.
You know what, give me New Orleans.
Seattle with a big win today goes to Baltimore.
Okay, let's see Seattle with Baltimore.
Okay, that is Baltimore negative four and a half.
I'll take the Ravens at home.
Give me the Ravens because Seattle is going across the country.
So that's an eight or nine AM game for them.
Tampa Bay, my beloved Buckingeers, go to Houston, Houston, Houston.
This could be a stink fest.
Uh, Houston is negative two and a half.
I'm going to take the Buckingeers.
Gardner Menshue.
I'm sorry, not Gardner Menshue.
He's playing for Indianapolis.
That's Baker Mayfield.
Baker Mayfield may be injured.
I'm going to cautiously take Houston because of the chaos that Nane sue.
The Indianapolis Colts go to Bank of America.
Stadium to play the Carolina Panthers who got their first win today.
Uh, the, uh, Colts are negative two and a half.
Give me Carolina.
Yeah, me too.
I hate saying that, but give me Carolina Carolina.
They're starting to get things moving and Indianapolis is going in the wrong direction.
Giants at the ring.
We're now into your late games.
There are three late games next week.
Really?
That's it.
All right, the, uh, Raiders are negative three.
That means the pick them.
Yeah, I'll take the Giants.
Give me the Raiders.
Okay.
The Giants gave that game away today.
Nothing but love for Alex, but they gave that game away to the Jets.
And I just, I can't put you faith in them right now.
Now the battle for supremacy and the NFC East takes place next Sunday at 325 Central Time
as the Dallas Cowboys go to Lincoln financial field to play the Philadelphia Eagles.
One game separates these two teams.
All right, what do you think the line is right now?
Fill me by five actually fill these negative three.
I'm going to take Philly that makes it a pick.
I'm like, that's just weird.
I would take Philly Dallas on the road.
Philly's fans are already upset because they're out of the bay out of the world series.
But I would, I would take Philly in this next Sunday night.
The Buffalo Bills at the Cincinnati Bengals Joe,
burrow, starting to get things moving again.
Gotta get them above 500.
All right, the bills are negative one and a half.
I'll take I'll take the Bengals.
I think the Bengals will hold on, but just because of that line,
that this is going to be probably one of the best games we see this week.
Or actually, it's next week because that's Sunday night football.
Excuse me, Don, I apologize.
Yeah, it's all right.
We've got no Thursday night football this week.
Okay.
Monday night football next week that charges
go to MetLife Stadium to play.
Okay, the chargers are negative one and a half.
I'll take the chargers.
Give me the jets.
It's going to be November.
The chargers are going to charge her.
They have yet to prove me wrong.
Oh, I want to make it.
I want to do an adjustment too.
So Miami Game, which is in Germany.
Yep.
The T-Swiss wasn't there at the game today.
What's she that you're aware of?
I don't know.
Because she, if she's there, they win.
If she's not there, they lose so far.
I don't think she's going to be in Munich.
That's what I'm saying.
So I'm going to take, I'm going to take Miami.
No one, because I don't think she'll be there.
So they'll be there.
If you're into they're playing in Germany in week nine.
Nine.
Okay.
Doc should be a commentator on that game.
No, he really shouldn't.
God, you leave the seasons almost halfway over.
The season is halfway over.
Actually, next week it'll be halfway over, Don.
Find out.
And baseball's going on.
But you're having fun, though.
I'm trying.
Fantasy is not helping me.
I'm still only one win for the year,
and I'm probably going to get beat up on by 50 again this week.
So Yahoo, fantasy, go pound sand.
They gave me an A plus for my draft.
Isaiah 54, 17 is not playing well.
So I'm saying, okay.
We have a couple of things to mention in the world of television.
We had a couple of big losses this week.
For those of you that remember the original night court,
the guy that played bowl Richard Mall,
yeah, passed away the other day.
Oh, wow.
Read some great reports.
People that really knew him.
A friend of mine who is an agent, they had him as a client,
spoke very highly of him.
And then last night late,
we found out about the passing of Matthew Perry.
We don't have enough details.
We're not going to go into detail.
I will tell you one of my favorite memories because
as a Gen Xer, as both of us are, I do believe.
Friends was one of those shows that kind of helped define our generation.
When I was doing youth ministry as I did for about five years in the 90s,
we had a discussion with the kids one Sunday night once I moved here
about generation gaps.
And one of the kids said that their generation was like friends.
And my generation was the Brady bunch.
And I was like, all right, let's tap the break there for a minute.
I said, my generation is friends.
You guys don't really have that show that defines your generation yet.
And this young lady looked me dead in the eye and she said,
which one are you?
And without thought process, without missing a beat,
I looked her dead in the eye and I said, Chandler.
And the entire room went, yeah, he went of
the guy had a rough road.
It's not that I'm not saying anything that's not well known.
Yeah.
And he admitted it and he was like, so many people have come out
and talked about what a quality human he was.
And that one definitely took me off guard.
He's 54 down.
Yeah.
And I just turned 52.
I know.
I just turned 50.
You know, so we definitely want to send our deepest
to his family, friends, and fans.
I've seen him using tributes out.
You know, I said, all this, it's a drowning.
That's all we know.
That's all we're going to say.
No, he was found in a hot tub.
That's what we know.
Yeah, we don't, yeah.
But beyond that, the facts are never hot tub.
Unversed.
I never saw a full episode of friends from start to finish.
Really?
Yeah, I never got, I don't know why.
I loved that show.
I've watched it through it at least three times.
Yeah, how many episodes, like 300 or something?
There were 10 seasons.
Evan, is it 10 seasons?
Yeah, you're probably looking at 200 episodes
because an average, if you average 20 episodes a year,
you know, as they did back then.
But I think, I think it's a show that you should give it,
give a, give a true spin to you, Don.
Yeah, if I could find a thing, maybe I could get it in a prime.
I mean, you should be able to get the whole thing on peacock.
Okay, I'm going to go on max one of the two.
Yeah, probably max because it was Warner Brothers television.
10 seasons, 236 episodes.
What I thought?
236 episodes, 10 seasons.
Start from the beginning, watch it all the way through.
And that's what I'd probably want to do.
It's a great series.
And it's, I mean, of course, you know, some of it may not age well, but
it's a, it's a really good show.
I very much enjoyed it and I very much enjoyed his work.
He was in a reboot of the odd couple that did not last long.
But he was also another one of my favorite very short-lived series.
It was called Mr Sunshine, where he was a guy that was in charge of events
out of sporting arena.
And the entire theme song was Mr Sunshine.
Yeah, that was the whole theme song.
And I loved that show.
He will be sorely missed.
And I guess that I've been seeing some great tributes to him online.
So our deepest to everybody on that one.
The CW has announced that they are airing a,
I think it's a British show that's called, it's basically a British version of the righteous gemstones.
And they are, they have picked it up.
They picked up season two ahead of its, and it just debuted last week.
And they're like, we want another one.
So they got that going for them.
HGTV has renewed their show Rock the Block, which is kind of a remodeling competition show.
Really?
I heard that one.
I, I hadn't heard it, but it's good, but not four seasons.
Yeah.
They got that going for him.
Paramount Plus has canceled a couple of shows.
One, I think you watched, Don.
What's wrong?
I'm getting there.
The first one they have canceled after one season was their adaptation of fatal attraction.
I never got into that one.
But they canceled Rabbit Hole, Don.
I never got into that one.
That's one.
That one.
That's the one for you for the other one.
Let me look at it.
Hold on.
I don't think I did that.
Because my wife, my wife just finished it last week and she was like,
no, they canceled it.
I'm like, yep, you're not getting season two.
So.
Yeah.
When it was on Paramount Plus, no, we never got that because we don't have Paramount.
Never got into that.
Yeah.
A prime video is announced that the series based on the fallout video games will debut on April the 12th.
Very, very popular there for a while.
And they are about to announce a third season for the show Good Omen, which I've heard very,
very good things about no TV on DVD and Blu-ray this week.
We don't have a whole lot this week as the strike continues.
Apparently there were talks over the weekend.
I have not heard how that has gone.
I'll be checking our normal
sources in the morning to see if the talks have progressed at all.
I will say on TV.
The final episode of Billions is tonight.
Oh, is it tonight?
Okay.
Yeah.
And actually Triple H made a appearance on one episode.
Oh, that clip I did.
Yeah.
Yeah, he did good on that.
It's like, oh, there's the game, you know.
And it brought him in wise and did a pro wrestling thing.
But yeah, that one being the fantastic feet for love that show.
And we watch the top though, John.
What?
The Triple H point himself.
Yeah.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, he played himself.
It comes in.
The DA needs some help on some kind of thing to try to help with
do a legal maneuver.
And you go, we need a guy that could make you look left.
Make you look left.
Why he plays with the right hand.
And they brought him Triple H.
And he goes, what's the situation?
And, you know, so it was really cool.
The probably did.
And it's like, yeah, he played the pro wrestling bit on the guy.
So, but then a few old cameos.
Metallica was in that on one episode.
I mean, so yeah, it ends tonight.
It's sad to see it go.
But we always loved it.
And Paul Kimoni came along with him.
I appreciate you doing that during actual TV talk.
Yeah.
Unlike last week.
Hey, I want to keep you on your toes last week.
No, I'm learning.
I'm working progress.
Music news.
The song sexy.
And I know it from LMFAO has now joined the one billion YouTube
view club.
And Don, are you a fan of the Manelow?
Are you a Manelow, Don?
I love the guy.
He grew up in.
He rocks.
He's going to have a man.
He's a man.
We'll get ready December 11th.
Barry Manelow is a very, very Christmas.
It's coming to NBC.
Why not?
Oh, Santa, you bring gifts.
Kids love you.
Oh, bring me those.
Oh, Santa.
No.
At the North Pole.
Not workshop.
Do not be smurched.
The greatness of Mandy or Copacabana.
These are great songs.
I love them.
Although the song I write the songs.
He didn't write the song.
I write the songs, which is kind of weird.
Hey, hey, look at that.
Hey, if you give me treasure,
hey, if you give me the concert of Abba
with Barry Manelow together,
I'd be in sky high up there.
You would, you would spontaneously explode in that.
Exactly.
That's almost like seeing Zeppelin,
again, you know, somehow.
You know what the sun brought in, you know,
trying to describe the people.
What?
Trying to describe, tell the story of you
at Mama Mia to other people.
It's, you had no idea.
I'm going to have a photo of us new and then all of a sudden
here's Dawn full on in at the end of the show at the last act.
People are up there.
They're clapping.
I'm a dancing.
I'm a dancing.
And this is pre-face.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm moving to releases this week.
Speaking of people, you are a big fan of the very last album
from Jimmy Buffett will release on Friday.
It's called Equal Strain on All Parts.
Yeah.
Well, Sabi Sonic has a brand new album this week.
Oh, right.
And they're done.
And the struts have pretty vicious this week.
All right, let's get into box office numbers from our friends
at box office, Mojo Drop, dropping out of the top 10 this week.
Let's see here.
A hunting in Venice drops from 8 to 12 this week,
making another $424,000, $7 weeks just under $42 million.
And the none two drops from 10 to 13 this week.
I mean, what's almost on HBO this weekend?
Was it really?
Yeah, I debared it last night.
Maybe eight weeks.
Yeah, I mean, did it okay?
Eight weeks, 86 million dollars.
Hey, it made money.
It's been 7 to 10 this week, the creator, five weeks.
It makes a little over a million dollars, five weeks, 39 million dollars.
This film did not do well.
Dropping from 6 to 9 this week.
Saw 10, $1.7 million, five weeks, 51 million dollars, they're going to be okay.
Excuse me.
The 30th anniversary rerelease of the nightmare before Christmas drops from
5 to 8 this week.
Another $2 million, two weeks, just under $8 million.
Freelance, debuts in 7th place.
This is the new movie with Houdon.
Don't know John Cena.
Oh, the one, Chena.
No wonder why I forgot.
I think $2 million this weekend.
Him and Allison Brie, how you doing?
Congratulations.
The Mighty movie drops from 4 to 6 this week.
$2.1 million, $5 weeks, $59 million.
Not Don's favorite film of the year drops from the bronze medal to 5th place.
The exorcist believer makes another $3.1 million.
$4 weeks, $59 million.
After death, which is a documentary about people who have been near death
experiences, we mentioned that last week on the show,
debuts with just over $5 million.
Killers of the flower moon in its second week drops from 2 to 3 with $9 million.
$2 weeks, $40.7 million.
Very interesting story coming out about that movie this week, Don.
This movie is three and a half hours long.
Yeah, this course is easy.
The new, yeah.
Remember we talked a little bit last week and I talked with the boys on that
in a hero's last weekend.
This movie should have an intermission.
If you clear three hours,
well, some independent theaters were actually putting an intermission into it.
The studio came back and threatened to pull their license for future movies before that,
so I wanted to take the intermission.
Are you kidding?
Who would judge?
I don't know what the references look like.
When we saw the hateful eight in the theater,
there was an intermission.
And that's a nice, great film.
Yeah, love it.
Taylor Swift, the era's tour does not win the weekend, Don.
Oh, oh, 14.7 million, three weeks, $149.3 million.
So it went from $100 million to three weeks later, not a 14 million.
It's still the highest grossing concert film in North American and worldwide history, Don.
Well, understand that.
I'm not talking that.
I'm just saying that I think the big buzz, everybody.
I got to see it.
I have to see it.
Everybody who saw it, saw it and you know, I think the thing works out.
No, you're wrong. She made money.
She made money.
So, Don, I'm going to tell you what won the weekend.
I think I know.
We do not have a review up because Don couldn't make the screening.
Five nights at Freddy's based on the video game of the same named wins.
How much money do you think it made, Don?
At least 14 million because it beat out the T-Swivel.
14.7 was Taylor Swift, the era's tour.
I'm going to say since it's Halloween coming up too and all that stuff,
um, the weekend before Halloween.
Let's say 33 million.
Not even close.
Five nights at Freddy's has the biggest horror opening of the year.
It also has the Halloween weekend record.
Remember this movie also debuted on peacock on Friday.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
$78 million, Don.
$78 million.
It was on peacock.
Feuders are back, baby.
Wow.
Give it to him.
Yep.
Uh, I want to take some time before we get into the TV or into movie.
That was like, that was over twice what I guessed it was.
Exactly.
Lacky.
All right, but Don, you, uh, you were somewhere this weekend
then you want to talk about it?
Yeah, um, the, the lady who I want to give a cool nickname to,
there's the double J, I want to call her the double K.
All right, Kelly Kitchens.
We love her to death.
One of our favorite people.
Indeed.
If you watch the show, you'll know how much respect she's been on the show many
of times.
She started a film festival in Garland and, um,
the, um, it's called, uh, it came from Texas, which is basically horror films
that she's doing around Halloween time, uh,
basically horror films that were filmed to have,
you know, the bass and Texas and stuff like that.
So it was today and, um, yesterday and last night,
they had the big centerpiece.
Um, one second here, bear with me.
And on at the, uh, they showed that the original 1974 film last night
and the, um, they had two people, the, uh,
let me get the names specifically.
One second here, I apologize.
The production manager and then also it had the, um, hold on, production manager.
Roy, I think, Kim Henkel, who was one of the writers.
He was there last night and then Roy, who was the production manager.
Um, he was there also and, um, you know, this thing was almost 50 years ago and
they did a little Q&A after the fact, but, you know, Kelly's starting to do a,
you know, we want to try something new.
You know, came from Texas, Halloween.
And hopefully she'll have a lot of success from this.
Um, the mayor from Garland was there last night.
And they did it.
Yeah, the, uh, he was there doing the thing and he was kind of, you know,
with Roy and stuff like that.
Um, but, um, you know, this photo ops and everything.
But it was a cool time where, you know, we want to help up, Kelly.
We want to give a shout out.
If it happens, if she doesn't get next year, we'll let you guys know, try to make it out.
Um, because she gets some of the people from the show, maybe not the stars or whatever,
but, you know, there was, you know, they, um,
having people that worked on the show or be part of the show and be able to be there
and it's in Texas and promoting Texas horror.
I think it was a really cool deal.
And when Kelly works on something, you know, an ink and a flounder.
So it was a cool time.
Awesome.
Yeah.
I'm glad you got to go.
I'm glad you got to experience that.
And I know it's going on through tonight and they've got a,
our friends at the Mocky Horror Picture Show are doing the giant kilo monster at the Texas theater.
So not at the leap.
So ours, it might still be at the Garland Theater.
I can't remember.
No, it's a Garland.
That's for some, I've been in that theater.
It's things like 50 years old too.
You know, it has a history.
Yes.
Right now.
Yep.
All right.
Another tribute as this past week, we lost the Great Richard Roundtree.
For those of you that don't know who Richard Roundtree is, he is best known.
As the man that would risk his neck for his brother man.
In 1972, he was the star of the film Shaft.
He played John Shaft, one of my old time.
With the Isaac Hayes soundtrack and he's done so many things over the years.
I do have the Criterian collection that has that and Shaft's big score.
It does not have Shaft in Africa.
He just, if I can get a hold of that on Blu-ray.
But I will be watching that this week at some point,
dissecting that Blu-ray a little bit.
It was very saddened to see that we have lost him as well.
That's if I can't, from the thing in Garland, is Ron Bosman,
and he actually won one of the producers,
Oscars for being a producer of Silence of the Lambs later.
You mean the Lambs gravy and claddy?
Yeah, yeah, so.
Don, did you enjoy the Hunger Games?
Yeah, do you enjoy stage production?
Well, I don't like the Hunger Games as much as
Charlotte Park Marshall now is it?
Thank you.
Yeah, um, but yeah, I like the Hunger Games and productions, of course.
Next year, there will be a stage adaptation in London of the Hunger Games.
Will it be a musical?
I'll have to stage adaptation, that's all I know.
I think it's a great and zero chance, it'll be musical.
Because I don't know how they make it, we got the prequel coming soon.
Yeah, I understand that.
But how would they do a musical for the Hunger Games?
I'm about to kill you.
How they do a musical of Apple Music, huh?
They did it anyway.
But to the Hunger Games, please don't make it a musical.
Speaking of sequels, did you, did you see Samaritan last year with Stallone?
No, I'm video, it's actually pretty good.
They're doing a sequel to that, they announced this week.
I don't have drawings, but I'll be able to see in it.
He's a superhero that kind of just went into hiding
and a kid figures out who he is.
And it's, it's a really cool movie.
I very much enjoy it.
It's very underrated.
And we may not be getting any more fantastic beast movies.
It's been kind of shelved at Warner Brothers.
Oh, really?
The Harry Potter director used the word parked.
Quart.
So I'm not sure what's going on there.
Moving new releases in places you see moving new releases this week.
We get the Sophia Coppola directed,
a biopic of, of a
Priscilla Presley, simply called Priscilla this week.
They did a daytime screening and I missed it.
I am looking forward to this.
It looks really good.
Last year we had Elvis.
This year we get Priscilla.
And this is based on her book that was called Elvis and Me.
So we're going to see how that goes.
A movie called What Happens Later with Meg Ryan and David Duke Covney this week.
Willa and Bill are X lovers that will see each other for the first time in years
when they both find themselves snowed in in transit and add an airport overnight.
So you got that going for you.
Also, Daisy Ridley and Ben Mendelsen,
co-star in a movie called The Marsh King's Daughter.
I am a big no thank you on this one.
This is one of those creepy movies.
Oh, well, okay.
For your revenge film.
When she finds out that the man that kidnapped her mother gets out of jail,
yeah, it's a thing.
One of those.
Okay, one of those you're out.
Also this week all dirt roads taste of salt.
This is an A24 character study film of a woman living in Mississippi over a number of years.
We have deep rising, which Jason Momoa narrates.
It is a documentary about the oceans.
We also have a movie called Helen's Dead this week.
A young woman discovers that her boyfriend is sleeping with her cousin Helen
and goes to confront them at a dinner party.
Only to find out that Helen's dead and everybody's a suspect.
The meal herch is in this.
I think that's the only name I recognize.
We also have Glisten and the Mary mission.
This is an animated film.
Follows Marsapan, a young elfling and her mother, Sinomeg.
As Marsapan must believe in the magic of the season and goes on an adventure
to rediscover the enchanted snow deer named Glisten and save Christmas.
Your voice actors in this Michael Rappaport, Chevy Chase, Billy Ray Cyrus,
Freddie Prince Jr. Dion Warwick all in this.
So there's that.
Dion.
She's never, she never went away, dude.
Yeah, well, she has a mental illness.
Going from being a singer to the psychic friend's hot network and now doing
getting back and it's good to see her back.
Movies on DVD and Blue Ray this week, we have Mission Impossible Dead
Reckoning Part One, which I very much enjoyed.
Justice League crossing with the anime RWBY,
called Superheroes in Huntsman Part Two.
The Dolly Parton's Mountain Magic Christmas gets its release this week,
but just in time.
Last year's a Christmas story, Christmas, technically the third film in that series
that I have not seen.
I know it's available on Max.
Universal Essentials collection.
They're doing this with the brand new extras and special packaging.
They do that this week for Schindler's List and Animal House.
And last year's movie, Nanny gets the Criterion collection treatment this week.
Well, you know how much I love the Christmas story.
You would be both.
I watch it every year.
Yeah, that new one from that day.
I never got around to it.
Yeah.
Then a couple of quick other things before we let you go.
I went to Portillo's for the first time today, Don.
And for those people, don't know, Portillo's is.
It's a, they do Chicago style hot dogs and they don't know.
Well, yeah, yeah, I heard about that.
Yeah.
It was finally the hype had died in and out enough that I could get in and out of there fairly quickly.
Um, it's okay.
Yeah, I had a Italian beef and sausage sandwich.
Okay.
I had them not put the peppers on it because the seeds.
But I thought it was very tasty.
Nothing that really to write home about.
They have crinkle fries and that's always good.
And I had some of their cheese sauce, which was, it was, it was kind of rich.
The cheese sauce was a little rich.
No, they had enough of it that I could dunk the fries in it and then I could dunk the sandwich in it.
But they do a, they do burgers, they do hot dogs.
I'm not sure I would have waited in some of the lines that were there when it first opened
and they got another one open now so everybody's going there.
But, you know, if I'm in the mood for it, it's not bad.
Also a very, I think you're going to be opening one.
In Arlington and what I could tell if I remember, it would not surprise me at all.
Yeah, I have not been to hideaway.
For the whole of the question, what's the value of the few food pretty good?
I would have had more sandwich.
Wish I would have had more sandwich.
Yeah, I have not been to hideaway yet.
I'm waiting for a cat to get back from being out of town
because she understands hideaway.
Some of us interesting happen to be this week, Don.
What's that?
Earlier this year, I was asked to DJ an 80s sippin stroll in Plano, which is not that far away from here.
And as we were getting closer to the event,
there was an ask of me for a piece of equipment I did not have.
So I went on Amazon and I found a brand I'd never heard of.
And I think we've probably talked about this before, but it's called Phoenix Pro, P-E-P-H-E-N-Y-X-Pro.
And I was able to get a package with two of the the receiver is meant rack mountable
with two handheld wireless mics and two belt packs, both of which came with a headset mic
or you could use a lava layer either way.
We've actually used them for remote shows.
For about 200 bucks.
They are fixed frequency, but I was like for 200 bucks, I could get it for one gig, we're fine.
And they're fantastic.
They work like champs.
They're very well made.
I was very impressed.
I've been using them now ever since.
Well, I got on their email list, Don.
And every once in a game, they'll send an email out looking for product testers.
This is the third time I have applied and this time I was approved.
So what you do is you go to this Google form and you fill out your information.
And then they'll put like six or eight different new products on the screen and you pick one.
And if you're selected, which I was this time, very exciting, they sent me an email.
And what they did is they pay paled me the money.
And then I bought it from Amazon.
So it came in today.
Okay, this is what I'm product testing, Don.
All right, PTU to you.
This is variable frequency.
So this is going to be a little bit more expensive.
It's got one belt pack, which has the Lavalier and the headset and one hand held mic.
I'm going to be using it on and off in gigs and things over the next month.
And I will be doing a review on Amazon for them as well as being doing a review on their Facebook
group, which I am also a part of.
I will tell you, I will probably do an I've already unboxed it a little bit.
I'll probably do an unboxing video.
I might do my first TikTok tomorrow, okay.
Where I unbox this, I looked in it.
It looks everything looks great.
I'm looking forward to testing it out.
I may take it to church with me and see if we can mess around with a little bit there.
It's very, very sturdy.
It looks great.
I'm very much looking forward to testing this out.
It says it's got a 320 foot range on it,
which that's about a football field.
So that's good.
That's 100 yards or whatever.
So 1000 different frequencies.
It's got the option where you can you can just hit a button and it'll find the best frequency for you.
Which is kind of cool.
Again, this is the receiver is rack mountable.
There are four antenna in it.
So it helps the dual diversity.
So they call that gives you a stronger signal.
So I'm very much looking forward to working with this and seeing what it does.
And we will keep you updated.
Anything else you want to talk about Don for we do the plugs.
No, I just want to say again, thanks to Kelly for having me on it or film festival.
That was kind of cool.
And you know, that's that's really about it.
And go from there.
