The Clubhouse – Episode 5

All righty week number five it is August the 10th in the year of our Lord
2010 it is time once again for the clubhouse with Robin Cody I am Rob as always
joined by Cody he is right across from me show number five number five it is
alive we made it we made it longer than a month and so you know adjust your
Vegas betting boards according I've had marriages let let's joke and joke
allegedly you know there might not be statute of limitations up on that yet
sir welcome to the second live edition of the clubhouse we're going to get

credit yeah are we going to put ourselves there no oh there is totally believe we
ought to track corrections from last week first correction comes from a
discussion we had about the film apple luca which and Harris actually started we
were throwing out everybody also directed that I don't know how I knew we were
throwing out everybody under the sun and that thing yes we were Jeremy
Irons was the villain Duval was in open range that's where we got confused that
one would I found that one out myself and we also found out that the
Rangers auction was actually last Wednesday not last Thursday we'll get to
that here in just a minute and one more correction the theme from raw hide
actually sung by the great sheb woolly sheb not Clint Eastwood I thought he's
saying the theme I don't know why and that sheb woolly famous for the woolly
bully no that no okay but maybe did the woolly bully oh you're killing me
smalls actually we got that from two different sources our buddy Lonnie who
chimed in last week as well as your mom yeah she came thank you I grew up on
raw hide it I didn't think that was Clint Eastwood is the great shit the grad
I don't know about great but it was sheb woolly will you bully Sam the shame in
the pharaohs okay let's who that was I love the fact that I can look this stuff up
now it's amazing oh now that we've got the corrections out of the way we have to
get into what is always the first thing on the show and that is a little sports
talk that's right sports talk we can see for this I don't even do they even use
this music I don't know we need some generic sports sound or music I think yeah we
start because it's almost time we start with football talk far watch over for
now we found out late last week he allegedly is going to play with the team I believe
I called that yeah you know they've got to get to the point where they've got to let
him just ride off in the sunset and I don't there's a lot of bread I think he's got
to get to the point where he wants to write off there's a lot of Brett fans that love
him and and he is I just get tired well he's such a gamer he's in it for the game he's
old school he's gridiron I really think I've put money several times that he let's put
money on it because that's what it comes down to I mean put money on him being in it for
the game yeah he's he is he is what he is he's he's a great player I think it's time's
up but how can you not blame the guy for least thinking going I mean I was one pick away
from being in the Super Bowl yeah but Fisher cut bait is all I'm saying oh absolutely
you're gonna do this do this that's all that's all I'm saying do it or don't yeah I mean
but it's Brett and I'm like I said last week we've been with this story is almost half a decade
old we've been talking about are for five straight seasons kids that were born to be getting
of this thing are about to start kindergarten for goodness sake and he still plays yeah go
fake I won't hold the Viking against him now the jet I'll hold that against him that wasn't
that's my division so yeah I'll the Green Bay to Minnesota not it's still a rival not bad but
him and that jet uniform that was weird he's kind of like Montana and the chiefs you know yeah
just wheeled it didn't it didn't didn't really register with me yeah I just like seeing Brett
number four and green jet you were like I don't know weren't it more strange seeing the jet
uniform or seeing these people that wear the farve Atlanta Falcons uniform that and then the
Southern Miss Farve Jersey's kind of dicey you actually got to watch the Hall of Fame I did not
you had a DVR I was a little bit he was a little busy with a little something called UFC on Saturday
night I don't know yeah tell me about it well you know it was funny one of them said you know they
start out with with the great Dickelbo real quick and he said I don't know how I'm supposed to put
52 years of football in 10 minutes no kid and that was the I think you you Jerry had a big block
of time Emmett had a big block of time but you're your middle guys were they were moving those
guys through there it the Hall of Fame to me is always great no on stage introducer this year there
was no inductor everything was pre-taped but didn't they have like the big I thought the big I guess
I saw I didn't see footage the the big video wall thing yeah everything that was a little much
all the all the inner already call it inductors or whatever you want to call it there we go they were
up on a pre-taped deal and then they both came out the the player and the whoever's putting him in
came and raised up the the velvet towel that's over the bus and they all yeah they all look at it
and go and point then you start talking Emmett very emotional Emmett and get off him for forgetting
the gators and his mom that's all I believe you heard that from me sir yeah that's all I read
about that I was like you know what the guys up there it's live television he's getting inducted
in the Hall of Fame he can be a little emotional yeah I think and he he was he's not a good public
speaker we know that no he's not and I think he got wrapped but the Daryl Johnson thing if that
didn't move you man that you there was something wrong that was a great moment any other great
moments from that uh anything from the Jerry Rice bit yeah Jerry you know Jerry seemed very
remorseful he he ended his speech by telling his family and telling the fans the one mistake he made
as a player he didn't get to enjoy it he took a good fall after the season ended he took two weeks
off and he was right back training I mean I heard a story over the weekend about about one of the
guys showing up for just showing up to pick up a paycheck and he's out there catching balls being
thrown by the groundskeeper yeah I mean the guy worked all the time he was he was a beast all right
tomorrow night if you are an HBO subscriber I am my DVR is set hard knocks premieres tomorrow night
it is the New York football jets this year you know what I you you kind of grimaced at me a little
bit there I did the same thing last year when they announced it was going to be the Bengals but you
know what it needs to be a sense and I agree but I was entertained last year I really not knowing I
mean we talked about this a couple of weeks ago the great thing about hard knocks is you get to know
some of these cats that you would never get to know otherwise and in the case of the Cowboys they
had a guy that ended up getting relegated to the practice squad that wound up playing for another team
and I think that I think it's good for those guys the way I mean HBO cannot do sports right yeah I've
never seen HBO sports documentary that didn't absolutely rivet me well it's it's a very fun show
entertaining show I remember you know in a phone network re re air that some I don't know they do
the Cowboys when they reared that it's fun it's fun it's entertaining I like some of the deals
where hey you know when the kid walks in and hey you've been cut and I like that aspect where you
really get inside the coaches office and go we like you but you're not going to get paid to play
football I like that aspect of it really shows the emotion and I'm sure it's hard on those coaches and
when I did the Ravens when Brian Billick did it it was it was really emotional to cut a guy I think
it always is because you're you're basically telling a guy that he can't make a living doing what he
wants to do and I really I love the show yeah I will I will be DVRing tomorrow night hopefully I'll
be home in time to watch it tomorrow night if not I'll watch it Thursday night but it is it's going
to be on the DVR subscription list yeah great show great idea whoever's idea that was genius yeah I
mean that's that's reality TV coming coming at us again but again I'd like to we'll get into that
at another time let's go camping let's talk training camp news not really an active weekend training
camps we've had some some injuries happen but I had I didn't see anything that really caught my
eye what about you well we will start off in Mancato Minnesota is it Mancato is it Mancato I don't
know Mancato just sounds which sounds weird well in when that is of course training camp home to
the Minnesota Vikings Percy Harvin missed all this week because of the death of his grandmother
and has not returned to practice those dang migraines again is he having more of those having more
those like that kid love him I just there's there's no some that's neurological at that point
some neurological yeah something's going on with him I mean great player but the migraines kept
him out again another will we'll stay in that that NFC North Green Bay Wisconsin no brainer who's
training camp that is the great and I will say great the great Donald driver given a true
extension really I like him a lot only team he's ever played for Green Bay yeah that's true I didn't
thought about that speaking of the jets got two on them the GTS two on we go to courtland
New York that were they court and I think we'll land of courts yeah we'll expand a little bit
on this but Rex Ryan garing team let me repeat garing team the Super Bowl for the jets does anybody
put any stock in anything this guy says he's jet all I thought his dad I thought buddy was bad
this guy is so he this guy's I think to me buddy was just good there Rex is just playing crazy
he's he what and how this got started was you know Adam Schaefter for all you people familiar with
ESPN he's got a bus and he's going by bus from training camp to training camp all over the country
and he's having certain coaches and players sign the team logo as he's leaving and above the jet
logo he put see you in Dallas I guarantee it he's got to get out of that division and underneath
that he wrote soon to be champs well that's let's let's let's let's let's let's let's let's let's slow your
roll their spirits as that bus rolled into New England Patriot camp in West Wilker wrote one game
at a time and you know what good to see him back playing yeah hey he won my big 12 guys Texas tech
guy and former dolphin former dolphin and charger well we have a lot of fantasy
things in the first place I always like to always seem to be salt to the earth and we'll stay in
Cortland because the jets man they are a head case this team you thought 92 Dallas 93 Dallas was
weird this jet things weird uh Dorrell Revis preparing to sit out the whole entire season and
Woody Johnson the owners expecting it that's good news for you you know he's he's wanting to be
the highest paid player in the league I just don't know now he is right now there's somebody at
St. Louis that had that title he is a hell of a corner hell of a corner speaking of St. Louis will
go there next I don't this makes me cringe you called it uh huh San Bradford taking 50% of the
first team snaps they're saying coaches are amazing they haven't seen a training camp like this since
Peyton Manning well the the story I heard this weekend is a lot of the even a lot of the veterans
are saying this kid came in and act like he's been here for five years but not in a bad way like he
came in like okay what are we doing let's get in the huddle and calling the plays and again don't
fault Bradford I think he's a great kid I just am concerned that they're going to start him in
week one and I don't know that that's the smart move yeah um is that good college coaching
is that is that a bias opinion non just asking let's say let's say who it is if he comes in ready
head right with ball is that do you get are you born with that or do you learn that as you go
through the ranks of football I think it's a little bit of both because you have you have that
that that want to play but leadership qualities are something that aren't necessarily learned
if you're going to be a leader it's almost born in you yeah yeah I think so but yeah um good luck
I just I knew this was going to happen I just I don't want him to be one of them guys that
gets dinged as rookie year and never gets over it I'm I agree with you fully anything in the chat
rooms going on oh we've got Misty and Donna talking Don says no way the jets are going to the
Super Bowl Misty saying that every time Brett says he's retiring and keeps your name on your
tongue and you know what I kind of see that I mean he keeps him in the news but at the end of
the day he's bread far yeah you know the day he is what he is yeah I mean it's not like we're
going to forget who the dude is he's bread far he was in something about Mary with the greatest
line ever uttered by an athlete in a film when the guy said what are you doing here
bread far we said I'm here to play the dolphins dummy I just thought that was just genius and it
was genius delivery too I need to revisit that and I don't know if I watch that movie in repeated
settings it was funny the first couple times I thought I think the fairly brothers are doing
time for Kingpin myself I'm more of a kingpin guy but division previews we have eight of them
we'll start tonight uh something you know I'll be honest with you got a bunch of names
still in a coffee cup and pulled one out which it pulled out a great division sir we're going to
do one division a week for those of you that are just joining us that way we're not going to do all
eight all eight divisions in one that we'll be here all night we will start in the NFC South great
division great division a lot of history in that division yes sir little small rivalries you have
your you know everything southern at least that this is the only division to me that has it right
yeah geographically you mean yeah um and but one of my teams of all a great great logo Tampa
Tampa made you a believer a few years in a certain super vault yeah they um I'll be there this weekend
yeah they uh of course in the last season they're going to be in Miami last season 13 and 3 last
in the division um they're starting to fill in holes though of course drafting Gerald McCoy out of
OU who is getting those comparisons and camp to a very young Warren sap he's a guy he's not the biggest
cattle in the field but he's got quick feet in his first step is extremely explosive oh yeah kids
great yeah he'll he'll be a camp has been one ever since Tony Dungee was there yeah built on defense
yeah they've got it they've got to do that and I'm not going to say build around him in the first
year but he could be a he could be a guy that's there for a while uh quarterback Josh Freeman's
second year out of Kansas state is that who they're starting right now that's he he's starting in
camp right now last day one of supervalent trick till for friends I mean but this is a guy here he
was I thought even going to the draft that year he was a little he's a low rated I didn't put a
lot of stock in him but hey um they need to find a guy and Tampa's done it never done this really
before if you want to count a Vinnie test of Ernie to me Tampa's never had a franchise quarterback
no that's what I'm saying they won a Super Bowl with Trent Dillon yeah um man I've got to give him one
more four and twelve like don't hold me to that I'll give him one more win but hey that gives you
and hey Dallas fan that snicker and how do you think all them cats got here in 92 you got to
rebuild it you got to restock the cupboard with talent you just can't money's not growing on
trees there in Tampa then we go to when the division though yeah then we go to Carolina
Carolina Panthers a team you talk about Jekyll and hide yeah no kidding um you know last year you
know finished strong you know finished strong eight and eight uh great end of last season finished
four and one if you remember a quarterback former cowboy practice squad player Matt Moore
played very well yes yes looked at when the Dell homie went down looked impressive at times
and other times just look like an absolute train wreck which is why you don't buy them for picking
up which they got him in a bargain Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clawson all right which I thought
was a perfect I mean at the time the pit great moved it cost you a ton of money plenty of offense
the Angela Williams Steve Smith having quit getting his leg broken pickup football games
and Jonathan Stewart good pieces in place there's that question on D and you know what they go nowhere
eight-nate I don't see them improving any I don't see them they're just uh status quo and there's
now there's nothing wrong with that yeah now this is where things and this things get dicey hot
Lana at Atlanta Falcon that that team you talk about a team if you're a fan of that team you
must like roller coaster yeah not in seven last season but you know you had a little bit of
injury bug last year you know uh at top Matt Ryan miss some games and then you have that kid Michael
Turner his his second year Atlanta what nearly the bang the hype it was his first year in Atlanta
um if they're a hundred percent let me tell you something brother that's a dangerous football team
but they again they've got to be a hundred they've got to be a hundred percent they've got to be
a hundred percent um and I'm gonna tell you they can win this division if they're a hundred percent
that's a bold statement sir I think if they're a more team in a division and I've got to
otherwise John Madden said it best you're the champ till somebody beat you and you're need to be
the man you gotta beat exactly Rick said that um New Orleans that's and see that's so that's my
point of contention again to say that Atlanta's gonna win that division you gotta get past the
champs twice gotta beat the champs twice um of course New Orleans we all know won the search ball
last year um total dream season where everything except one Saturday night when the cowboys came to
town everything went your way a lot of luck man I lady luck may be done in it and New Orleans still
I don't know uh of course you have a guy you've got you got a guy like Drew breeze just a heart
gritty great player you know he could I always think I sometimes I play what if
what if Miami had not passed on yeah I mean just what a gritty gritty player saw to the earth guy great
man great character wish nothing but success on Drew breeze agreed of course Reggie Bush you
still have that I don't think he's ever come into his own I think he's done with the Kardashian
thing maybe he can focus a little bit more on football you know and 12 and four and until their
beat I will I will pick New Orleans to win this division until he's defeated you just said
that Atlanta if Atlanta is healthy okay I don't think I don't think they can be healthy out on that
yeah we'll talk to me mid October mid October yeah all right not gonna tell you who we're talking
you know well you actually know let's do the AFC South next week yeah we'll go to AFC South next

cover of a Madden video game something happens to you in the next year guys have gotten hurt
careers have ended you know if I'm EA I'm just gonna go ahead and pick old guys like guys that
aren't playing anymore you know almost which you know you just really keep yourself safe though

this thing I remember a time where you ran up the screen and sometimes you hear Madden go boom the

me is is making schedules five years in advance too much and I'm gonna say it yes it is well the
reason why I brought this up and by the way this is uh Mrs. your college football talk for this week um
Texas Notre Dame signed a four year actually it's almost a six year contract uh yeah yeah
I missed this it's a in in South Bend in Austin in South Bend in Austin all for two years picks up
again in South Bend it doesn't start to you fan till 2015 so they signed a six year deal technically
that doesn't start for another five years yeah that does not take effect till 2015 and I will say
this that foreshadowing I don't know what that is I'll get to that I'll get we'll get to what I
Notre Dame and me um but hey I'm gonna be honest with you I don't care for both them teams let me
take some if I see both those helmets on my TV screen on a Saturday I'm in you know what I'm
right there with you I mean the tradition of those two schools alone I mean have have they ever met
I want to say maybe one I want to say they've played in uh I think they've played in some cotton
bowls against each other if anybody's out there when I'm talking regular season I don't know if
they've ever met the regular season but I know there was some some some tussles down at the
cotton bowl but I don't I don't know if regular season but as I went through and checked and did
some research and kind of want to take a little tongue here on some of these matchups they get
y'all guys excited here um of course we mentioned Texas Notre Dame 2015
Ohio State Oklahoma beginning in 2016 starting in Columbus it's a two-year deal home and home
not gonna be a big long drawn-out saga but uh you know they actually I remember uh
they played I don't remember I wasn't born but they passed thanks for that they had some
clack oh you and OSU's tussled in the uh the uh the uh passed and let's see I know they got
close but yeah I want to say past 20 years they've they've played in some capacity that excite you
oh you OSU not as much as Texas Notre Dame oh no okay Florida Miami kicks up again 2013 thank
you boys for getting that done it's a home in home it's a two-year deal of course starts out in
Gainesville and then goes to Mayama tell you what I mean and that's and being critical
81 team 81 regular season I know there was the sugar bowl in 2000 it had been but I would say
it was 82 critical of my of my of my team not my home monitor but my team you gotta play both
of those teams if you are one of those big three in Florida you have to play Miami you have to
play Florida state I would think it he'll be recruiting absolutely right anybody college football
chat room anybody got anything not just yet we do have the hawk head checking in with a big shout
out to John Kroge MC that we did at the top of the show I think we appreciate you guys I think
we all think we all know who that is uh we'll we'll be talking about them more as the show goes on
absolutely Auburn Georgia Tech 2017 really I mean we're making game six oh it gets worse we're
making games seven year I mean is it is it money is it what why do you want to do this um that
does nothing for me me neither yeah Auburn Georgia Tech nothing now this this one kind of because
Alabama Michigan state if Sabin still there it's Sabin's current team against the team that really
got his his wheels going hmm yeah but Bama fan get lined for tickets 2016 when that thing gets
cranked up isn't the world supposed to end in 2012 I thought according to just a few seconds just
to cut more here Nebraska Tennessee 2016 once again doesn't do a whole lot I think Tennessee
in both these teams but you know what geographically that works but both these teams will never be
back to their former selves ever I don't think they can recruit I don't think they can recruit
um two more real quick Miami Notre Dame we're getting that cranked up again you know
nothing wrong with that 2017 the hurricane fans should be happy about that and the craziest one
the nuttiest one I think God I'll be almost 40 does LSU and OU and in Baton Rouge do anything for you
LSU Oklahoma brother 2020 I mean 2020 do you understand that at that point I'm almost 50 yeah
2020 oh LSU will host OU and then we go back up to Norman 2020
Brendan could be at one of the school I just don't understand I don't understand why we have to make
college schedules 10 7 6 I maybe it's money if somebody knows the answer that question
jump in a chat room or email us I'd love to know the logic there yeah I guess because you're I
really think this is foreshadowing I think a lot of these teams know what's coming what almost
happened two months ago is going to happen sooner or later and I think that these teams are preparing
for that yeah that the the college football Armageddon just like the real Armageddon will will
happen one of these days well because you look at the deals especially in the big 12 you know you
can break that deal by 2015 yeah I'll kind of wonder if they're not both independent by that
that point in time interesting interesting interesting let's we want to break down the coaches
pole here for just a second yeah real quick or 25 teams don't have that kind of time a couple quick
kits here on the coaches pole which came out I've I've wrote in some little some little hand notes
here Alabama your number one unanimous deserving I think you're once again you're the champ
until somebody else tells you otherwise they're there they're there they're there I mean they are
and they're not they defensively they concern me and this is a whole other show that's why I'm
not going to get a whole that we're going to be doing here in about three weeks yeah so yeah they're
they're they're oh how state lot to prove terrell prior number one recruit in the country when
he came out have not seen that they did win a bcs ball and again Tressel looking up at the SEC
yeah you realize that he is o and 15 lifetime in ball games against the SEC
speed terrell was supposed to solve all that he was supposed to bring speed to Columbus I haven't
worked out for I haven't seen him flip that switch derago they're going to win a national title I
have not seen him flip that switch two teams here that one I can see there one so look I think
Florida in Texas at three and four and you might agree with Florida a little too high again I'm
not putting any stock in anything until mid-October um Florida make not a lot of first time in three
years are not returning in all American that that tells you a lot also tells you about the recruiting
there um Texas too many losses too many big key players like I said in the cliffhanger last week
just too many pieces boysy you're there beat Virginia Tech and you win your conference you're playing
for the national title but beat Virginia Tech first you got you got what you wanted you're there
Virginia Tech hey same old situation yeah they're a top 10 team every you know what I'll be watching
I'll watch that game oh yeah day nine there'll be I'll be multitasking between that raw yeah I mean
watch they're a top 10 team a TCU hey welcome to the show same thing with you you're there you're
not preseason 27 I mean you're there um Oklahoma a season of virtual possibility they could go down
they could go up at number eight I think that's great because they could go up down they got a ton
of talent a lot of expectation a lot of expectations that's when they're dangerous yeah that's true
um Nebraska a little too high and the top 10 Iowa you're the big 10 you're the second best team
in the big 10 I mean Iowa loved you ate nothing against the Hawkeye but high you know Oregon
Wisconsin Miami Penn State no surprises one thing that surprised me when's the last time you saw
LSU fin a top preseason pull it down there at 16 it's probably about right though they're they're
in a weird place right now yeah um and I thought you know Arkansas checking in at 19 I got I got
to see it again but see again to me it's preseason it doesn't matter yeah I've got to see it to me
all the preseason polls are it gives us something to talk about for five minutes but I don't
hey I'm gonna tell you this I don't give a care if it's here's what we think's gonna happen pull
buddy the hearts pump and the blood's pump and it's time no it is it's time it's getting those those
those where we're standing at the door we're knocking on the chest and he has a new song
hear me knocking and I think I'm coming yeah can you chest his new song called boys a fall buddy I've
not heard it yet but I like the title right I don't get your football pants crazy on a what will
but that now I mean that that's your poll that's your and I hate this mid-October I hate the
preseason poll but it's it's a great conversation piece absolutely did you want to do your crystal
ball now or do you want to wait on that wait on that I will do the cliffhanger okay well hold on we

this is the college football cliffhanger section like that good pick and on that turn it up
burn it it down brother Cody's gonna tell us what programs on the way up what programs on the way
down I'm starting with a team that if you win one more game you're in a bowl Notre Dame Notre Dame
is a bowl there they all they got to do is win one more ball game now they may be in Hawaii
but they have to they have to get on that track with Notre Dame better get there in for Chip Kelly's
sake Notre Dame better get there but in some ball games fast yeah because I think there's Chip Kelly

he's gonna be a great pro but he's gonna be golden tate all we know about him is he likes donuts
yeah and he likes them in Seattle yeah and you know John Ryan defense event he's in the league

he's one of the Quasimodo I just uh he's doing Disney flicks you know returners I mean not a lot of

Notre Dame this year with USC and Michigan being both down I don't want to call USC down no but
things a little bit different there in L.A. than they've been in the years past the dynamics

this year one thing I thought was called army at Yankee Stadium that's right I forgot about that
cool in I'll watch that I'll watch that just because and let me tell you something fans if you're a
fan of sport if you're ever anywhere within a hundred miles of South Bend go see a game at Notre
Dame I did this two years ago and they played their home opener against San Diego State didn't have
a horse in the race I was in town hey I got my bucket list it's a bucket list I was sitting
I was sitting in 20 rows off I was 11 rows off the field on the 20 yard line yeah what an amazing
experience you when you're on that campus you feel that tradition but amazing my prediction
and it's real simple bowl game yeah I think they get that sixth seventh win I'd notice but he
may take something to me Notre Dame football's a wave I think eventually if Brian Kelly does what he's
supposed to do I think they can be for a national title in the next five or six years if he's there
it's Notre Dame they're gonna have that thing kind of decides to bail right before okay kind of
like that yeah I mean it could happen I don't think he's a pro he can't get me higher that's the
thing about this job but it's a lateral job you know Florida Oklahoma Texas to me now that Notre
Dame's not what they were they're all lateral moves yeah there's none bigger than the other I see

New York NBC affiliate a flight attendant ran out of patience on a plane that had just landed at
JFK on Monday afternoon so he allegedly cursed a blue streak over the PA system grab some beers
pulled the emergency shoot slid down and ran from the plane in allegedly what happened to us they
had just landed the plane this lady had automatically gotten up out of her seat and was taking her
bags out the flight attendant said man we need to sit down she hit him in the head with her bag
and he went nuts went ape on him got on the PA custom bunch of people out pulled the
emergency shoot and said I'm out of here well I'll tell you I'd rather him do that then do what
some of these folks do and go grab the gun and come back in the plane and start off and everybody
in it so hey the guy wanted to drink and it sound to me an amusement park ride on that deal 28 years
the last thing he said before he jumped out of the uh the plane was I don't know it's 28 years
in polyphane polyphane guy right there buddy that's how you quit a job
very very strange story well I got so I think it was funny yeah you know that he was arrested
at his home or for what didn't hear a law broke the guy's the guy's last name is Slater
not not nazi Slater no mario Lopez he was later arrested at his home in Bell Harbor

the Walton's Ben Casey and the untouchables something I did not know the untouched I mean we're
we're talking the original until the original okay she was married to the great role doll does that
mean anything to you no children's author okay yes partly in the chocolate factory James
in the giant beach she was married to him did not know that did a little research found that out
also lost Jack Parnell and that may may not mean anything to you it was not dr. T
now I even wrote that in the run she because I knew you were going to say that he was actually
the band leader for them up at show he was the band leader they did all the arrangements for the
show itself he was not dr. T. Dr. Teeth was leader of the electric major mayhem yes sir
so I lost there too found out this week we are on the 30th anniversary of a little film that's
now a Broadway musical because Broadway's run out of ideas too 30th anniversary this week of
Xanadu the only reason I bring that up is because my father-in-law used to use that movie as a bit
with my wife when she was younger so you know I had to throw that out there also something I found
out we talked about anniversaries this week is also the 25th anniversary of both real genius
and weird science they were released five days apart and on both those movies both great films great
I'm gonna if I've got if I've got to pick one though I'm giving the nod to weird science
I it's just I've seen it more times I enjoyed it yeah kill you kill it a rock
to go on the soundtrack a young Bill Pullman I believe playing the older brother chat
who kind of got some come up at the end of this Robert Downey Jr. one of the bullies in it yeah
there were some there were some people that's a great John Hughes wasn't I believe so Anthony Michael
Hall very young remember when when he they were in the bar and he got real drunk
Lisa Lisa Lisa you know what happened to the other guy was it Doyle um who's the other nerd
in there it was Wyatt and you're gonna make me look this up but he's now a professor at UT
really yeah he he's his first question an upcoming freshman is now he can't do it anymore because
the movie so outdated he's going to yes and I was in a 1980s movie he's now a professor at the
University of Texas I wouldn't say it's outdated because I think people because remember USA did a
television series of weird science it was failed but it went like who was the hot chicken there who was

you go wrong what was the budget on this Ian Mitchell Smith was the kid in weird science okay
the you know the entire budget of that film was I'm gonna let you guess we actually did talk
about this a couple of weeks 125 million nope that's a generic answer two thirds of that 80 million oh
yeah then okay then it's very successful okay I thought we might have been on the verge of
a water world in the television version yeah but hey it made I thought we like I said
this one kingpin which that's right yeah water world top failure I thought this was a big huge
high budget big action film obviously it's not but in it has to work in yeah yeah it can't
lose money it's swatching nagers in this for a second yeah they basically I saw an interview
with Stallone he said they did his because he was like I'm the the governor I can you know so on
a Sunday he flew down to South America at four in the morning they shot it they shot the whole scene
two or three times he was on a plane back to Sacramento you know you know done I'm gonna see it at some

versus the world again both of these movies coming out the same day man one fails Michael Sarah
Mary Elizabeth Winstead do you know who she is Bruce Wilson's daughter and live for your

graphic novel comic book deal is right now you can do that because there's so many great stories
out there that you know that's why Hollywood's kind of latched on to that genre because they're
running out of other ideas anybody in the room got any movie news movie a lot of wants to see
Clooney in the American that that movie yes sir does look very good I don't know that if that

Halloween 8th grade homemade max headroom costume had the hair done with it with the yellow spray paint

that they play a they're not really a couple but they have these two quote unquote kids and what
they are is they are a corporate family basically that's paid to move into neighborhoods and model
brands of things to get people to buy them did this haven't the actual release yes it did very
briefly was that like a month it was very limited great concept yeah I mean and and and they kind
of start to actually fall for each other it looks kind of neat yeah I might catch it on HBO in a
year great I do Demi I mean also this is a bit for disc set released today raw the beginning the
best of seasons of the one the best of seasons one and two of Monday night raw in for discs yeah
I mean you're talking and I'm hoping there's a there's a they documentary yeah they've got
they don't just do they've done this before and I think I have one and it's just matches and I
didn't care for that but yeah and I mean it's that so you know it's going to be good man some of

things I've put on this it the sequel has to have been theatrically released okay we're not
talking about straight to DVD straight to video we're putting that out there also don't care
what you say godfather three not on the list why because I liked godfather three and it's my list
do you think we'll ever get a revisit from that no no four no no prequel no
okay there was rumors for a long time the caprio was kind of attached to that I don't know
what happens in it better not we're not including prequels because they're not sequels
and they're not necessarily bad per se they're just not necessary okay
because if we were going to do that we'd be here all night oh yeah I mean and probably nobody
else would be me and you're doing a radio farm here hey package that because that's
something that may be coming up very soon so keep your ears open for that number ten speed to
cruise control you know unnecessary well in Sandra got wrapped up in that if she was he was still

Patrick yeah um you you're out on unnecessary um did they hijack the cruise ship it's been so long
I've I've never said all the way through it I've watched a couple of scenes and with speed
greatness the first love the first one yeah Dennis hopper great Dennis hopper God rest his soul um
um number nine I was a stinker that was a high budget film they had high hopes for that sequel
first Lonnie calls it speed two career suicide for who for him yes for her no oh no she was biting her
time I think number nine break into electric Bougaloo was I think breaking I think breaking one was
unnecessary I was see breaking was you striking with the house how you had breaking you had
Beat Street you had crush group all these movies that were about that period in the 80s and they
made a bit trillion dollars when you name your female character special K I'm not saying turbo
was one and electric Bougaloo and and if you if you watch it's funny because if you watch like if
you go and rent breaking the first one they added for the home video version a tease of
breaking to at the end of the credits that wasn't there to actually because anything they were
going to make a sequel very strange makes probably should have should have held on to that feeling
yeah what a feeling flash dance I'm sorry number eight crocodile Dundee to I like this I like
this film this is this is one that I saw and went really I enjoyed it the best thing about the first
one it's to wash your rear end that was funny like right by I'll show you that was working on that
that Paul Hogan say you later Paul he was Paul Hogan just walked he had he had that and he had
a almost an angel was the other one now that Chris Rock remade that was a stinker that was a
bad one but it does hold a place in my history almost tonight that ties into Godfather 3 and that's
a story we'll tell sometime maybe we do all those movies are almost an angel uh number seven
we have okay talking about Dundee real quick what didn't you like about what was the it did we
do we have to go back to the well that's my thing we we kind of covered the fish out of water thing
on both sides of it because remember it started with her going to Australia remember when he was
up on the hill swinging this weird musical instrument that sounded like a the digger was at the
digger the the world cup horn yeah it wasn't had some clunkiness to it but I like that first now
this is a knife that's not a knife that's not and see there was a scene in the first one that
was in the trailer that was not in the film where he had run into a to a couple of ladies of the
night spoiled and he and he uh asked about he just ordered to walk about it was very strange
now number seven we have a tie because both of these work in together by the way we're also not
including franchises in this okay except for one and there's a reason for it the matrix
reloaded and the matrix revolution tied at number seven loved the first one well they buried that
thing quick we were so excited when when reloaded was getting ready to release because you saw the trailer
and you were like yeah and you got to the theater and you're like what the crap and I didn't even
see revolutions theatrically I waited until it came out on DVD Chad and I watched it together and we
spent the whole movie going I don't see where the problem was I mean it's the end you're like I
don't see the oh there with you know it's like the way it ended you're like are you kidding me
are you kidding me man they killed they killed a very sick that it's like they took the franchise
out behind the theater and just shot it in the middle of the face well something had to lead
them that thing went nutty fast and I was so mad because the first one was so great same summer as
episode one oh my gosh number six Hillary swank the next karate kid we've now tried this again with
this karate kid business but tell you what I've heard people say this the remake is really good
I still can't bring myself to it I found out the other day that that Jayden Smith apparently is
done a duet with the Bieber I'll be dang um got nothing on that I mean again it didn't
introduce the world to Hillary Swank yeah it was it was unnecessary but once again it was that
very early with 92 93-ish somewhere in there what's the chat room got to say anything thrown
out there we got going on here Lonnie throwing out their nanny McFee returns movies not been released
yet madmats beyond thunder known and that was pretty bad but I mean I guess yeah you could say
unnecessary dirty dancing too almost put that on a banana not sir almost put that on not

summer again again uh staying alive actually entertainment weekly did a list of a 25 worst
secrets and staying alive was number one I was a sequel to the Saturday not fever yes it was

see if I have if I can cue that I can cue up some of this music here let's see all I remember
this all I remember from that maybe I just have it on karaoke about oh no I just have it on
about three seem we'll play the opening line let me remember one thing I remember is that
first scene is now that was pretty that was directed by Sylvester Stallone yes it was that's
why it's brother to the theme song there we go missy is saying next cruddy kid was 94 94 yeah
but back I want to get on this for a minute remember when Stallone was walking to Volta's kind
of walking down the street man it's floating strut and you see him he's strutting and he runs
into Stallone and Stallone turns around it's oh fresh alone remember that
yeah if you want it's like second third scene of the movie he's kind of strutting down
Broadway there and he bumps into guy he goes excuse me turn around and Stallone and aviators
a little cabby hat and a big old coat so wow but that yeah that's not on this list no because
I don't like I was only gonna do 10 that's all I'm saying number five is alive with Conan the
destroyer well Grace Jones aren't we trying this again great oh it is every can't we get tripped
in this role yeah why can we not get tripped in this role we're yeah we're going there again when
I come in the destroyer you had Grace Jones oh so Conan yeah when you go from James Earl Jones
to Grace Jones with well I'm sure it made money I mean it was if you watch it now it's hilarious now
these next two and Will Chamberlain was also with Conan that's right I know there is somebody else
that was in that that's right number four we have a tie again because they're both part of the same
deal jaws 3d and jaws the revenge 3d was wouldn't that down it like some that was a sea world yeah
and the shark got in and everybody busted through the glass just how it was so yeah because at the
end because there's 3d because the the jaws of the jaws of jaws like flew out of the screen in the
phone we're flying and then you had jaws the revenge but it was a loop gossip the great loop
gossip junior get it he needs a stick to iron eagle iron eagle and he did a series and I want to
talk about this one week about great live action Saturday morning series so show called the powers
of Matthew star really he also did a spin off if you remember of the sheriff from blazing saddles
did he really yeah if you give I have that anniversary edition of that I'm gonna have to
look at that and it was yeah one of the great movies of our time yeah number three
we talked about Jim Belushi earlier blues brothers 2000 which was actually released in 1998
which make no sense to me the only good thing about this movie goodman was good but the jam session
at the end of the movie if blues brothers 2000 if you want to rent it just fast forward to the end
and watch that part because that jam session at the end is a man but that's the illusion watch
that movie number two we said no franchises but this is where I'm gonna make the exception because
of what this was now this is what this is probably my favorite horror movie franchise I was gonna say
not this particular chapter yeah Halloween three season of the witch and the reason I put this on
the list is because Halloween three had nothing at all to do with the movies that came before it
or the movies that came after it had nothing to do with them very strange put the Halloween mask on
your well no yeah it's come out of your head yeah because it was like somebody was making
the masks like there's something about they made you like a brain slave or something I was like
why are we even putting the Halloween tag on this yeah horrible film terrible terrible and number one
you can't debate me on this yeah why mess up perfect series sequel catty shack two and then
acroi took over the Murray acroi took over the Murray roll um Jackie Mason took over the danger field
roll easily one of the worst sequels of all time and one and to me the most unnecessary yeah why
why keep adding on I've got I got some some honorable mentions here and it's not always on a
mission but but um maybe sequels could have been done better my number one's always been Batman
returns I didn't like that man they needed to be made obviously but I thought I wish it would have
been done in a different way it started the multiple villains thing which I didn't like I didn't see
I like the first one I like the third one didn't like the second one didn't like the fourth one
it's like the reverse Star Trek franchise syndrome I didn't really like Batman returns I thought it
was I Burton I thought just went too far with it Davido I mean that was almost a real dark film but
walking in I was in one walk and the only prescription I'm sorry yes you're right missy Batman
Robin was terrible that's why I said it didn't like the second one or the fourth one like the
first one in the third I see I liked Batman forever great film it got a little weird at a
couple of points but it wasn't a bad film I always thought Kilmer was a great Batman he was good
as the Batman part of it I thought he was kind of wimpy as the Bruce Wayne part of it
but it happens we've lost feet on our on our baseball game but it'll be back in just a minute
because I've got a one minute overlay on something right now okay so that's going to do it for the
