It is eight o'clock on the east coast.
It is five o'clock on the west coast.
It is the 13th of February in the year of our Lord 2025, season 15, episode 31, 700
times you have been welcome to the clubhouse podcaster one stop shop for all things sports
entertainment pop culture pro wrestling.
Seven it is episode seven and this is just up the weekly episodes.
Just don't count all the other stuff.
Seven hundred episodes of clubhouse proper as of right now welcome.
My name is Rob and if everybody if 40 million people gave me one dollar, I could make as much
as Berkman to my rights.
That is my co-host.
I'm sorry.
Breggman.
Oh, okay.
I was very confused.
He is my co-host and he's back.
He is Alex.
I at that point, I had to pause to see if you were talking about me or the polar bear because
I am now excited.
Let's get to the season.
Pictures and catchers reporting.
Let's go.
The day, right?
Was it today?
It was yesterday.
It's actually been happening staggered over the last couple of days for a few teams.
I believe the 15th is the or is it the 17th?
That's the official report date for the last of the teams.
That would be Monday.
Yeah.
At the bottom of your screen is the official fact checker of sooner or gator productions.
And a man who had a lot to say last week, but he had it to say in the best way.
You may know him as if Boonu, but his mom and even Don Ford, I'm going to call him Don
Ford.
Hey man.
You know what?
First off, honestly, when you started this, did you honestly think it could be episode
700?
Yes.
Because I said we're never going to stop.
Okay.
We will never stop.
Never stopping.
Okay.
I got to give a shout out to the DFW area.
You know how the alleged me being kind of boop, boop, boop, and left the freezer open
overnight and ruined the fridge?
As you talked about last week.
We found out what praises there is a little shop right next to like the rooms to go out
with the store where we got our couch and stuff like that.
It's called D Casa Luxe.
They have a whole warehouse of all the appliances, washers, dryers, fridges, and they're the
damaged ones.
Usually you pay over a thousand for, we got ours of like 504, a nice damn something.
It had a few dents up front the bottom.
Who cares?
Still worked.
Okay.
So if you want to get appliances, you'll care if there's a little ding on the side.
We don't for the extra fridges outside.
D Casa Luxe and Grand Prairie right off 360 North to Mayfield.
Go for it.
I got a shout out.
We got a good deal and the things working good.
No free ads.
I feel like the title of the episode is now no free ads question mark.
I'll give a shout out.
It's a good quality.
When people do good things, we want to recognize that.
I want it also wanted to give you a little bit of grief.
Yeah.
Well, I'm waiting to find out that Don's like, hey, knock another $100 off.
I'll say the name of the place multiple times on the show.
So let's dive in, shall we?
Oh, which part?
Well, I first want to ask, let's talk superb owl just right off the bat.
Good.
Good.
Alex, how did you finish the night on Sunday?
Not as well as I started.
You did text me right before half.
Yes, I did.
I literally said, I am crushing this first half.
You need to fade me for the second half.
And you know what?
I was right.
And in a game that I don't know that anybody saw coming this one saying we're going to
work through on one quick headline officially now as of today.
Aaron Rogers will be out as the of the New York Jets on the new news, though.
Right.
But it was reported this week.
This is how bad it is right now.
Woody Johnson, basically the owner of the Jets essentially solidified this two months ago.
Yeah.
But they officially put it out there today.
So June 1st, Minnesota on speed dial.
I'm just saying.
Well, there has actually been rumblings about both Adams and Rogers going to Minnesota.
So I am very intrigued.
The other interesting headline that hit the other day.
And again, as Alex said, we are starved for news this week and next week.
And you'll understand why here in a minute.
And it pertains to your New York Giants.
Hired a new assistant quarterback coach the other day.
Who also happens to be the brother-in-law of one Matthew Stafford.
So let me posit this to you, sir.
By some crazy snappu, they can Vince Stafford to come to the Giants.
I believe it would have to be a trade at this point.
So add another level.
So if that happens, does he get there and go, you know, I got a buddy out there.
It's going to be out of work too.
Oh, there has been discussions that it's both of them in the, yes, get Cooper Cup with him.
See, this is, this is one of those where I have a hard time responding because I am a big fan of Stafford.
I am a big fan of Cooper Cup.
I like, I'm sorry.
Stafford local kid like Highlands High School.
Well, here, yes.
But I don't want that.
Because I am not looking for a rental.
And let me, let me put it in this context.
They both still have gas in the tank.
I am not saying that they are done.
But if they had three years, I'd be surprised.
If somebody can tell me with certainty that they got three years,
pull the trigger on the deal all day every day.
But I don't think that they do.
And I don't think the giants as a whole are close enough to being that much of a contender,
especially after the weapon we saw the Eagles put on the chiefs.
I would rather look at trying to build through the draft.
The problem is is that we have a GM who might not exactly be the definition of competent.
You're not wrong.
Now, there have been some signings and moves that have been made that I do endorse.
And I believe partially it was the fact that Dan Morgan might owe me money.
So that's why we were able to get Brian Burns.
There's a possibility there since, you know, Tarevella kid, who knocked me out on the football field, no less.
But Joe Shane has not had a great batting average with draft picks.
It has not been good enough for me to because here's the thing.
You can say I want X, I want Y in the draft.
And I could tell you right now my perfect scenario is cam ward falling to the third pick.
That's who I would target.
But I am also good if it's somebody like Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter.
And we just go ahead and tank and try to get archmaning next draft.
I am more interested in long term building than quick fixes because allow me to say the name Kenny.
Golly day who got a truck load of millions to literally fall off the face of the earth.
I'm not you're not wrong.
But that's the hard part.
Yes, we have no league, you know.
And I said flat out, I still believe in day ball as a coach.
Shane is the one that has me scared when it comes to being a Giants fan.
Well, we will keep everybody updated.
Let's the pregame was weird this year.
I watched it all over the place.
Yeah, I watched it with them over at Phil and Shannon's.
And it was just like the same thing over and over.
You talked about my same thing.
It was just the same 10 minutes worth of material.
Oh, I may I put this in a different context forward, Don.
Yeah.
So Don, you remember when we would be leading up to a pay per view, we'd be all excited,
but it would be like the same five to 10 minute video packages over and over again.
Oh, so it was a lot like that, but it was all live.
That was the thing.
Yeah.
Oh, but I will say this from the pregame.
Sean McVase already got life after football locked in.
Absolutely.
Fantastic at the table.
I really enjoyed his work and that was a shot.
I couldn't pull off that suit.
That was a sharp.
So, but remember, that's why the big discussion after the Rams won and then they had that
fell off season.
There was discussions about whether or not they would keep McVay and the concept that
wound up coming out from the crankies was as long as he wants to coach, he's here.
And McVay was allegedly, because there's no tampering at this level was allegedly being
told, Hey, if you want to give up coaching, this gig is waiting for you and the check has
two commas.
The under was hit for the anthem, uh-huh, barely, yeah, barely, but I did call the under.
So I don't know anybody that had the over to be, well, no, Sean had the over.
The Holmes had an 11 QBR in that game, 11 and I want you to think about this.
That was with two late touchdowns.
Yeah.
That would be garbage.
But I want you to think about this.
That very perfect last bomb for 50 yards to Xavier Worthy happened after Seriani already
had the Gatorade back.
Just think about that.
Yeah.
We'll get the ball back and we'll kneel it down.
It's just go ahead score.
We don't care, you know, that was a help, yeah, it also helped the over under yes, it
too.
Uh, but then again, Philly almost got there by themselves, right, because it went 40 to
22.
I think it was 46 and a half or someone crazy, like, oh, really, 49 and, uh, Philly between
the NFC championship game and the superb owl, they put 95 points on the board in those
two games.
Yeah.
That's insane.
And, and we talked about this last week shout out to Ziggy for joining us and shout out
to Ziggy who was on YDC this morning.
So go check that out.
We had said if you can get my homes off his game and they were all over him, like a
bad suit.
It was just like no time.
Yeah.
And that was the game plan and it worked.
It got shook up.
Oh, yeah, it got shook up.
Yeah.
He got scared that he was well, it wasn't even just scared.
I think there was something genuinely wrong because coming out of the locker room, he
couldn't walk after the game.
They had to cart him to the medical area.
Oh, wow.
So that something was going on, whether it happened in game or before game.
Something wasn't right.
I don't like seeing a game that lopsided, especially a championship game.
But you better believe I was there for the whole thing because it's the superb owl and
I will watch it.
And, you know, even if I don't have any stake in it and I have friends that do, I want
to support my friends.
So.
Well, and I have an interesting question for you guys because we've always said we prefer
unless it's our team, we want to win a blow out if it's our team.
But if it's not one of ours, we want a competitive game.
Yep.
I feel like that's no longer accurate.
I want an entertaining game because one of the things with this one, I was very entertained
and when I told this to another individual, they were like, wow, you really hate Kansas
City.
And it's like, no, I've never hated Kansas City.
But here's the thing with this, I enjoyed it because it wasn't just punts.
There was big plays happening if it was for the defense or whether it was the offense
that was struggling or different things.
It had me interested in each of the plays because I'm going to get up and done.
I think the only thing that Casey did right is they contained Barclay when it came down
to it.
Oh, absolutely.
And that's the only, if I give Casey a, they contained him.
They were ready for, but everything else, but he still broke a play of 40 yards or more,
which was another one.
Yeah.
That's that was there.
That I said would happen.
Yeah.
Go ahead now.
Now, the interesting thing is, is the reason that that Kansas City got smoked is because
of what they were doing to stop Barclay.
Spagnola is a very blitz happy defensive coordinator.
And I want to say somebody said that a more than half of the plays in the first half were
run blitzes where the Eagles were just pivoting and burning them.
So Kellyn Moore saw the lineup wound up going for a pass in a situation where they would
normally run like they did all year and kudos to him for the play calling, being able
to recognize the run blitz being used.
Although it played perfectly into Philly's game plan all year.
Traditionally, we've seen teams run to set up the pass.
Philly has done the passing in the first half and let Barclay just beat people down in
the second half.
Have you played that data both Barclay and Cooper to Jean?
Yes.
Not a bad way to speak.
Yeah, first pick.
But if I can, one thing I'd say the way I found it entertaining is because nobody saw
this coming when he came down to it realistically, maybe a handful of people.
Yeah.
Number two is I really appreciate how Tom Brady was a commentator saying, I've been here.
You know, we're close to the three Pete.
I was one game away from the perfect season.
I've been here and he can explain what these guys are going through.
So I think he was a great commentator for that game of Casey coming short of the three
Pete.
He was definitely more natural in this game than he had been in the year and the other
thing I love to hate this because I call this and go, what if this is a blowout?
Are they going to not show Taylor Swift?
Bradley Cooper got more air time than Taylor Swift did.
That was my design.
Yeah.
I'm going to say I'm glad because I'm sick and tired of them.
It's Taylor, Taylor, Taylor, he showed her what?
Once during the game, thank God.
No, I want to focus on the positive.
I want to focus on the positive.
Did you see the story about Bradley Cooper doing the introduction for the team?
With that kid.
Yeah.
No, did you see what his requirement of the NFL was?
No.
Rob, did you?
I don't believe this doesn't sound familiar to me.
Okay.
So we had celebrities who are mega fans on both sides introducing the team.
They asked Bradley Cooper and he said, I will do it under one condition.
I'm bringing Declan with me.
Who is the kid?
If you did not see, Declan is a beast of a little boy.
He has gone through so much having to go into the hospital with a condition that I
don't want to misspeak on.
But the reason that they found that out is these nice videos where an influencer goes
around and they're like, Hey, you're wearing like head to toe Eagles gear.
When was the last time you went to a game and he's like, I've never been because we've
always had to be in the hospital or different things like that.
So the dude gives them tickets and he's like, you know what?
I'm going to give you a thousand bucks and you know what that little kid did?
He walked up to the register and literally said everybody's stuff is free and paid for
the entire store's groceries in that filly market.
You know what?
I'm glad for that kid getting that shine and shout out to Bradley Cooper, recognizing
something that should be.
And I will say on the other side of the ball, John Ham looked hung over.
Well, it's John Ham.
I mean, yeah, you created it, but it was just like, oh, man, just real briefly.
I had no issues with the halftime show.
I thought it was good.
I loved it.
I did not have to target demo, but I thought it was really well produced.
I loved it.
I've heard both sides of the argument.
I still loved it.
The other one I wanted to talk about, Oh, Don, you wanted to say something?
I'd say I like how they had the flag on there.
You know what I'm saying?
And I don't even know about Drake or whatever.
Who knows?
I don't even follow that.
But I thought how making the people dress me, the American flag.
I thought that was cool.
I feel like I'm just going to start segments with say Don and then move into something
else.
But the other one I wanted to talk about on the show because you're the only person,
Rob.
You are still the only person I've heard that loved the score bug.
I had no issue with it.
I thought it was nice.
It was simple.
I people like somebody is like, I didn't excel.
I don't care.
Like, it was a good graphic.
It doesn't have to be flashy.
I know who who are what teams.
I know this or I know how many timeouts they have.
I know how it time is on the clock.
I'm good.
I liked it.
It didn't cover the screen.
But when it had a note, it just expanded, covered the note and then went away.
But like, like I said to you, the only note I had was for it to debut at the Super Bowl,
I don't think it looked clean enough.
Like if you ever used like Microsoft paint back in the day and you could only do the
blocks of paint when you're doing it, that's what the two initials looked like to me.
Like, I knew who they were.
It was okay.
But I wish that was a little sharper.
I like the concept.
I don't think it's a finished product.
And usually the network that has the Super Bowl, that is their graphic for the next.
That is how they debut.
Yeah.
I do want to talk a little bit about the commercials.
I went to USA Today's site ad meter where they listed their top 10 commercials.
And I thought we'd go through them real quick.
Number 10.
Before we get into the list though.
Was it just my feed or did you all have the same feed where you could tell that a lot
of ad space wasn't sold?
I don't really look at it that way.
I don't know.
Okay.
It always triggers me during the Super Bowl when you get like a local ad or an ad for the
network.
It's on or something that is network adjacent because that's usually filler for a space
that did not actually sell.
Yeah, a lot so much for local advertising every Super Bowl because I see it every
year.
Well, there's there's an amount of it that has to be local.
But when I'm saying that you get multiple spots, those are ad spaces that did not sell.
Well, it's just like if I'm going to pay 8 million bucks for an ad, I don't want
it to be go look at the trailer online.
Yeah.
Okay.
But I will say the one that got me was at the end and I don't want to say it yet because
it may be on your list.
Okay.
Their number 10 is the Pfizer.
I'm going to knock it.
Mama said knock you out.
Good.
So I thought that was really well done, even though a lot of hearing people not know what
that song was made me sad.
Number nine, they have listed the Helmens when Sally met Helmens.
Oh, my problem was like that was spoiled a week before and I didn't watch it.
I went out of my way to not watch the commercials to like to watch them during the game.
I wish they hadn't spoiled that because I think with Sydney Sweeney at the end, it would
have, it would have had more impact.
I honestly, I didn't even know about it.
And I just remember seeing it going, oh, this is going to be a thing.
Yeah.
People were talking about Billy Crystal wearing a wig.
I don't think that was a wig because it was way too thin.
Even though he's Billy Crystal, he can already wonder number.
And storming the castle number one, our number eight, the uber eats century of cravings
with Matthew McConaughey.
I very much enjoyed that, especially the 85 bear segment.
Do I look on a hate to do wrong in these commercials?
And he walked away.
I loved it.
Big fan.
Number seven, the Bud Light big men on cul-de-sac made a little long, made a long, I liked
the teaser for it more than I liked that.
Oh, then you can't drink him in the car.
And they're just counting down.
And I like Shane Gellis and I like Post Malone.
Yes.
And the fact that they had the golf cart at the stadium, that just made it that much better.
Just with the pale.
Yeah.
Way to get up.
You know, it's interesting that you say that.
There's another current commercial that I saw a teaser version of that is so much better.
And even the main commercial is only like 30 seconds.
Yeah.
But the, the, you can't, Emu's can't sell insurance.
Yes.
There's literally a smash cut version of that.
That was the first one I saw that was literally the dude saying, Emu's can't sell insurance.
Lemu, Emu and Doug, and he goes, I'll be, and that's it.
That's the entire thing.
Third number six, the NFL flag 50, which I thought was a really good, the homage to 1985
Pat McAfee playing the principal.
Oh, God.
So great.
Very much enjoyed that.
And him trying to say over and over again, it's a fat suit.
It's a fat suit.
Yeah.
And then the way he went through it on Raw, I thought that was great.
That was a lot of fun.
The number five, they have NFL somebody, I don't, I don't remember this one.
That was the girl's flag football initiative, wasn't it?
This says, Demario Davis, Eric Armsdead, Adam Thielin, kids across New Orleans.
Oh, okay.
I am our muddy thing.
Okay.
Yes.
I do remember that.
Eric Armsdead does win the Peyton, Walter Peyton, man of the year, and maybe a little bit
of a flood in that acceptance speech, where he said, what was it that he, it was like
one of those, he had said two things that kind of contradicted each other, or he, oh,
I'm gracious and humbled.
That was a little weird for me, but he was probably nervous.
Okay.
Yeah.
Number four, the Stella R. Toa, David and Dave.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Love that commercial.
Okay.
Are you, is he like his famous as Matt Damon?
Yeah.
Maybe more like that.
That was good.
Very, very well done.
Oh, that was, that one, that would caught me off guard.
I very much enjoyed that one.
Number three, Michelob ultra, the ultra hustle with Willem Dafoe and that one went too long.
That one went too long.
I liked it.
But I can get those two in a commercial, just doing what they did.
I just keep going.
I'm good with it.
You know what's really interesting about that?
I still don't care for Mick Ultra.
I mean, don't get me wrong.
I know people like it, but it's not one of my choices.
I'm actually more interested in pickleball now.
Well, that would, and Randy Moss, you know, we're professional athletes like, yeah, yeah,
yeah.
Okay.
Number two, they have Lays, the little farmer, the little girl that put the potato in
the ground.
That was a good one.
That was a very good commercial.
There are number one Budweiser first delivery was very simple and each sticking move.
I'm not going to lie.
I made fun of that one immediately.
And then it brought me back around.
It was really well done because remember that Christmas movie that I said, I am so mad
that I saw it felt like that as the set up, the littlest reindeer.
That's what the setup felt like.
And I was like, oh, but I always look forward to the Budweiser Clydesdale's and people
say that Tom Grisbal says all the time, when I come back in my next like, I want to be
a Budweiser Clydesdale's because apparently they're treated better than any human on the
planet.
It is ever treated.
I have, I have been in the stables.
It is legit.
But I thought the commercials overall were good.
There wasn't anything that I kind of want.
Outside of go see the trailer online, I'm like, I'm watching the Super Bowl, bro.
So the one that got me was actually towards the end of the fetch commercial.
It was like, hey, and I appreciated that one because it was up front.
It was like, look, we only got 30 seconds.
There's a QR code.
You want to win $200,000, scan it and come on over.
We'll be out there.
We'll scan that one.
I don't know.
Go ahead and scan this one.
Scan this one.
Okay.
If I can't, the one I liked were two actually, the one with the Nike saying, you cannot
do it.
You cannot do it.
Yes, you can't.
It was very, very positive.
Well done.
Very, very powerful.
And, you know, just to say to women, you can't.
The other one was the after the game with Jalen Hertz saying you cannot, yes, I did, you
know.
We're back after the games and, you know, you know, he did it.
He did it.
That's, I think, you know, that had to be in the can ready just in case, but he won.
You know, I want to know, I want to know how many different commercials didn't get shown
because it was out with Pat Mom's.
I need to go.
What do you want about the little girl going down the street of oil of a lace saying that,
you know, 14% of girls fall out of because of body shaming or whatever, that simple message
they put.
I think I did that one.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
The little girl was like running down the sidewalk and then it says you can do it.
You can do it.
Then it says like, they put a stat.
It's like 14% of women quitsports because of body shaming or something like that, you
know, or 40%.
So that was a really, it's kind of like that Nike one with the women too.
It was in that same realm.
I do.
This is why it's a good thing.
I don't have daughters.
I would get violent in response.
Yeah.
You were saying, Rob, can I go now?
A couple of them that I enjoyed, I liked, I hate the fact that they had to film two different
versions with Eli and Peyton after the kick of Destiny because they had to film two
different ones depending on who won.
I also, and I don't care who you are, I don't care where you come from.
The commercial about women getting checked for breast cancer, nobody was not caught off guard
by that because that was funny.
Did you, did you miss that one?
I guess I did.
Yeah.
Me too.
I did a teaser for it in the pre-game.
Well, I remember there being a teaser and I think when I was coming out of the bathroom,
it was like the payoff and I didn't get to see the commercial.
The teaser in the pre-game was, I can't remember who it was, was on a red carpet.
But the whole commercial was just like referencing people looking at women's chests and you're
sitting there and you're going, where is this going?
Like, where are we going with this?
And then at the very end, they're talking about women getting their mammograms and we all
just lost it laughing.
I was like, you know what?
You remember if you saw it.
Also the, and call this my bias, but the Ben Affleck, Duncan Donuts commercial that featured
Jay and Silent Bob, shout out, that was good.
But yeah, I mean, that commercial's overall were great.
I very much enjoyed them.
And now we wait until July.
Why are we waiting for July?
Because that's when training camps that means.
Oh, see, for me, the next one up is the draft, which you like the draft more than I do.
That is fair.
The draft wears me out.
See, but it's the obsessive combing of analysis and data that I do looking at it because
it's one of those where I might know who I'd take in the seventh round should certain
things happen at this point.
It's just, for me, it's, it's, it's the chess match before the grudge match, which is
the games.
And I always find it fascinating.
And you know what?
Maybe we'll do like a watch along or something because I always watch draft day with Kevin
Coster before that.
I love that.
I would rather watch draft day than watch the draft.
I watch it every year at least once.
So I got one question, that explanation, anything, it's just the team's name.
Mine's going to be Detroit.
Who do you think it's going to win the Super Bowl next year?
Not answering that question till we do our preview.
Because you, you can't, like, I'm not going to make that prediction because if we don't
know what's going to happen between now and Labor Day, wait here, I'll play Don for
this year.
Jacks.
Jacks.
Jacks andville.
You know, oh, man, you want to talk about a team.
I am betting the under on everywhere.
No.
No.
Tell me you did great work with Baker, but that aura is bad.
Yeah.
Okay.
But we'll see, you know, did you see, did you see that Jaguar's rumor and news from today?
I haven't seen anything today for Jacks andville.
Well, this actually affects Don kind of twice over.
Apparently, the Steelers were blowing up the Jacks andville phone seeing if Trevor Lawrence
was available.
Really?
And that came from somebody in the org.
Yikes.
Okay.
Good luck with that.
Okay.
You want, you want my hot take?
Yeah.
I take Trevor Lawrence right now.
Okay.
I mean, I should beat on the Giants.
Oh, yeah.
Who would you like to see in hard knocks this year?
I wish they wouldn't have rules for who does hard.
I know.
But if you have any team, if they change the rules, it could be any team who would have
to be a team.
It didn't make the playoffs.
So back.
I have my answer, but I'm waiting because I don't know all the rules.
Obviously, if there was no rules, if there was no rules, who would you want to see?
Could think they could always change the rules.
Right now, your most interesting answer is going to be the Raiders.
You like to see the Raiders, okay?
Because you have the dynamic with Tom Brady being evaluated, the fact that they're hopefully
the team that gets Shadour Sanders and what comes with that and how that dynamic fits
because there's actually a petition.
I can't remember who the other owner is to no longer allow Brady to be an owner and a
broadcaster at all.
He can't in any of the meetings with that the Raiders are a team they're playing.
He can basically, he can be in the booth and that's it in select circumstances.
Yeah.
Now, anybody that the Raiders are going to play within three weeks, I believe.
The other two teams I would be interested in would be the Saints.
That'd be a good one and Chicago.
Which obviously it won't be Chicago because they just did it.
I think like you're a year before.
That was this year.
Yeah, sure.
Okay.
All right.
Those would be the other two teams I would be interested in.
Oh, I just realized you have the Pete Carroll dynamic in Vegas too.
Sorry.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, Vegas is probably the logical choice because of all of the things and also
rumors that Cooper Cup winds up there.
And surprise me just get a quarter of if there were no rules.
Do you want I would like to actually see Philly if there were no that would be a fun one.
Just how they handled the Super Bowl and Steve that dynamic of, you know, I think that's
why I think that would be a great pitch for why Amazon Prime Video needs to bring back
the season.
Yeah.
Go out.
What I was going to say was because we had three different hard knocks.
We had hard knocks off season hard knocks proper and then we had in season.
Yeah.
Okay.
Do you think the off season applies those same rules or I don't think it's proper.
But you're where you're going and I'm here for it because that that right there, I'm
going to done.
I'm going to take your idea.
I'm going to put a hat on it and we're going to make it beautiful.
Okay.
Okay.
There are your off season hard knocks.
It's the what's all of the celebrations in your first episode off season activities
in your second episode and how do you get over that hump before you have the hangover
bleed into the next year while preparing for a draft where ostensibly they have been
the best drafting team, the best trading team for the last five years and it's not close.
That's why they're in this position.
Yeah.
But how do they prepare for the last pick of the first round?
Like how is their negotiations happening?
What do they see other teams potentially doing?
Because the only one we've had has been the giants who are garbage.
So it's okay.
We have like the fourth or fifth pick.
So who are we going to get?
It's like, I want you to Daniels, but he's not going to make it.
Go back to our preview.
You can see my love.
I want up you on that.
Please.
This is how we do.
Now I preface this by saying I did not watch a single episode of in season and I will take
heat the heat for that.
But why not just make it the NFC East because of the season Washington hat, because of
the season Philly had, because now you've got the giant.
I like it when they make moves and Dak Prescott saying it's our turn to get a team.
But I think doing the entire NFC East, I think would be interesting to see what they do
in the off season.
Okay.
So what you're saying is is instead of having the off season be one team, you swap the
division of the in season to that, or do you do it the same way where you have a division
and both.
And I'm just saying for this particular off season, do that division, because you have
the opposite ends of the spectrum, you got the giants at the top of the draft, everybody
else seemingly at the end, and how they could affect the next round to fascinating division
to look at right now, Tennessee gets the first draft pick this year than Cleveland.
Well, today, currently, you don't know what's going to happen as what Don saying for right
now, yes, they do.
And then giants are third.
Correct.
Which is why I was saying I hope Cam Ward, what will Tennessee do, will they go for a quarterback
or they honestly, I really like Cam Ward, he is my Jaden Daniels this year, but he's
not the runner, but in that same vein, everything Tennessee is saying says that they are not
going to skip a quote generational talent, which they allegedly have Travis Hunter marked
as because of how good he is on both sides of the ball.
So that puts you to Cleveland, do they take a quarterback or do they take Abdul Carter
because that kid is going to play for Sunday, or he's going to play for decade, at least
a decade and a half on Sundays.
But they could obviously look at a quarterback and try to issue the other news sources that
they have.
Man, we're about to hit minute 40 and we haven't even gotten along tonight boys.
All right, let's keep it moving.
It is all star weekend for both the NHL and the NBA.
So let's just go straight to the NBA.
We are not going to get the three point contest this year with Sabrina, you know, you know,
Scoot, you never say her last name, I NS go and yeah, that's not they couldn't get
it together this year.
But your NBA standings in the Atlantic of the Eastern Toronto, hey, they got 17 wins.
They are 22 games back in the division.
They are four, a four and a half back of Brooklyn and Philadelphia.
They are tied, but they're both 16 games back on the nicks.
The nicks are now two back on Boston in the central division, the Chicago Bulls.
They've got five more wins than Toronto, but they're still in the last place in their
division and they're 22 and a half back.
They are seven back of Detroit, former champs of basketball, who are a game back on Millowock
K, Millowock K is a game back on Indiana, but right now Cleveland is up 13 and a half
in that division in the southeast division.
The Washington, almost called on the generals, but they're playing about as well.
They're still waiting on their 10th win.
So we're the generals, yeah.
And they are 17 games back, they're eight, they're 9 and 45, they've lost four in a row.
They are five games back of Charlotte, who is 11 and a half back on Atlanta.
Both Miami and Orlando now tied for first after Miami drops three straight and Orlando
does have the tie break in the Western Conference Pacific division.
The Phoenix Suns are two games below 500 and they're seven back in the division, which
is crazy.
They're a game back on the Warriors Golden State, who now has Jimmy Butler.
Good luck with that.
They're a game back on Sacramento.
The Kings are now three and a half back on the Clippers.
The Clippers now two and a half back on the Lakers, who gave up 131 points to Utah last
night.
Can we also clarify that what we mean by that is Jimmy Butler's head case history and
not his wardrobe malfunction from yesterday?
You know, it just, I want the guy to do well, I do, but when you're making that much
money, I'm unhappy.
I don't have much for you, bro.
Sometimes that's a mental health issue right there, and I really hope, I really hope he
gets everything straightened out because, yeah, in the playoffs, proven, you know, in the
Stalk West division, fly, Pelican, they are 12 and 42 right now.
They've dropped 10 in a row.
Well, at 12 and 42, I could imagine that's not the only time they've won one game in the
division.
That doesn't even sound possible.
Yeah, it's insane.
They won six in the conference.
They are 24 games back there, 12 back on the Spurs.
The Spurs now six and a half back on Dallas.
Don't kick out a fan just for saying you should be fired.
They are currently five and a half back on Houston, Houston, Houston, and the Rockets
now two back on Memphis in the Northwest Division.
The aforementioned Utah Jazz, they're 31 games out of first.
And there are nine games back at Portland.
Trailblazers are seven back of Minnesota.
Minnesota now six back at Denver.
Denver's one eight in a row.
Oklahoma City now also on a seven game theater.
They are up nine games in that particular division.
You know what messes with me when the jazz are in last place?
Because my brain tangents to base get ball.
And all I hear is the New Orleans jazz moved to Utah where they don't allow music.
Just give New Orleans their name back.
I'm saying, please, you can be hockey club and basketball team.
That's right.
I love.
I love hockey club and I want it to be that.
Let's get into the NHL, which is all star weekend question mark for nation's face off for nation
face off.
Murca versus Sweden versus Canada versus Finland now last night.
Canada goes up by like six goals and then chokes it into overtime, but they do win.
Tonight USA playing Sweden currently Sweden is up one nothing.
And I love I think it was Bill Barnwell on around the horn today, go, you know why I'm
betting on America because they got two chucks on this team who have never played together
on the same team on any level of competitive hockey.
Yep.
So right now they're down one nothing, but it's could you imagine if there was a third
one and they just came out looking like the Hansons, I'm here for it.
Let's do that.
They would too, but I just I love I kind of like the format.
I I still want my skills shown like we talked about last week how they do it in Vegas.
And I love to even if it has to be in Vegas every year, do it there.
Do it.
In the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division, the Buffalo Sobreys, they are currently 22 points
out of first place.
They are six back on the Montreal Canadiens.
Thank you, Don.
The Canadiens are five points back on Boston.
Boston's one back on the Red Wings, Detroit, a point back on Odorwa.
The Senators now four back on Tampa Bay, who have one four in a row.
Tampa Bay, two back on Toronto, Toronto.
Now three back on Florida.
In where, Don?
Metropolitan Division.
Thank you very kindly.
The Philadelphia Flyers tapped Pittsburgh out of the seller this week.
Oh, wait a minute, they're tied.
You're going to point five points back.
You're two back on the Islanders Islanders now a point back on the Rangers.
The Rangers now two back on Columbus, Blue Jackets are eight points back on New Jersey
who are two back on Carolina.
By the way, Carolina right now is now ten points back on the Washington capitals.
In the Western Conference Central Division, let me just look at one thing real quick.
Make sure I know where we're at and I do the Chicago Blackhawks.
They're still pretty bad.
They're 40 points out of first place.
They are four back on Nashville.
The predators are now ten back on St. Louis, USA just tidied it up by the way.
Blues are two back on Utah.
Hockey club is now nine points back on Colorado, Colorado's two back on Minnesota, the wild
or two back on Dallas.
And by the way, Winnipeg's on an eight game heater, which now puts them 19 points.
I'm sorry, nine points ahead of Dallas.
Wow.
In the Pacific Division, San Jose, put a pin in it.
The Seattle Kraken, they are 20 points out of first place.
They're two back on the ducks.
Anaheim now six back on Calgary.
The flames now three back on Vancouver.
It connects two back on the Kings.
The Kings are now seven back on Vegas.
Vegas and Edmonton are both tied, but Edmonton has the tie break.
All right, boys.
It's time.
What is the goal differential for the San Jose Sharks?
Now, we know they can't go bell to bell, because they weren't in the first week.
But they've been in it every week since.
I can say negative 60.
All right, Don says negative 60.
You know, I was going to say the exact same thing.
So let me don this.
I'll be daring and say minus 65.
The San Jose Sharks have played 57 games going into the break.
They are 15, 35 and seven in the game 61,
but I couldn't bring myself to it.
They have 37 points right now.
Oh, they are currently 36 points out of first place.
So my answer if we had known that would have been minus 72.
They are 918 and two at home.
They are 617 and 5 on the road.
They are one eight and one in their last 10 and they've dropped four straight.
There is nobody, the closest team to them in the West and the Western Conference
is Chicago at minus 42.
The closest team to them in the Eastern Conference
is Pittsburgh at minus 37.
I feel like we might be too high, Don.
Yeah, finally.
The San Jose Sharks, neither one of you went over by the way.
What?
Neither one of you went over.
OK, so I win.
Minus 68.
Oh, at the break, which now puts them on pace.
Well, no, because it's more than the halfway mark.
Yeah, yeah.
It's bad.
They could hit triple digit.
Oh, they will.
I will, I will markedly agree.
They will definitely what I will be more surprised at is if they hit 140 to 150.
Shoot man.
All right, let's change gears as we get into the pop culture section of this thing.
As we go to stuff, we watch this.
Weak TV edition.
And my voice is almost back.
Good.
I don't have anything major.
I did, but they had the season finale of Inside the NFL last night.
Did you see that interesting thing about Bella check?
Which interesting thing?
They showed the stat of him helping LaGarrett blunt get a ring
and has now recruited his son to the University of North Carolina.
No, I did not.
Yep.
Oh, I feel so old.
What's our friend?
So interestingly enough, I don't know how recent this was.
I believe it was the end of last year.
Are you familiar with solar opposites?
I am.
I have never watched an episode, but I know I know of it.
So in the same vein as Rick and Morty had a problematic creator
and lead voice actor that had to be removed in the last season or two.
It is brilliant how they did it and shout out Dan Stevens
because the man can do no wrong.
But how they kept with that flow was really interesting.
So it's what I watched this week, even though it may not
be within the last few months.
That still counts.
I'm just clarifying.
I understand the rules, but I wanted to share.
Well, this is why we decided to not do the recent seat bias.
Right.
But we watched something new.
It's new to us.
The only reason I'm not talking about specifically the note of how they
change the voice actor is because it could be spoiler for somebody that is
watching it.
But if you want to know, I'll tell you off there.
There are no done anything for you this week.
The season finale high potential of Caitlyn Olson was pretty good there.
Oh, how was this show as a whole?
Not too bad.
She kind of does good is this kind of person you could figure out, you know,
certain things and see just like those little knit knack little things,
which helps solve a mystery kind of thing.
Well, she did the second episode of hunting party on NBC.
Oh, I'm waiting to binge that.
There's only two episodes so far, but that one's great.
So Alex, one of the shows that you introduced me to, and I don't know if you
saw an interesting little factoid on it.
The second season of the floor is underway.
Third, is it the third?
Did you notice who's in it this season?
No.
One Brian O'Hallarin.
Oh, man, I hope his category is convenience store snacks.
Nante from Clerks, part of the part of the floor this year.
Apple TV has said this week that joining Javier Bardem and their
Kate Fear Limited series will be Amy Adams.
Oh, that's good.
Let's go.
HBO Max has said that John Lithgow will be playing Albus Dumbledore
in their Harry Potter series.
Oh, was that say old?
I know the last report has always been fine, but I read earlier today.
OK.
Very cool.
It was awesome.
He is also on one of the latest episodes of the Criterion Closet.
And do not let me forget to talk about the Criterion Closet when we get there.
OK, because I found out some things this past week that made me growl.
About the Criterion Closet.
NBC peacock, the first episode of SNL is actually going to air Saturday night
as we prepare for the 50th anniversary special.
So the George Carlin, Genesee, and which is the very first episode.
Also tomorrow night, don't forget peacock streaming live at eight Eastern
will be the three hour SNL musical guest tributes.
Nice.
That the list, I haven't even seen the complete list and it is stout.
And then the Anacena 50th anniversary is Sunday night.
There will be a one hour red carpet before it at seven Eastern.
For those of you that DVR SNL, you do have to DVR that separately.
But I checked my list today and my DVR on YouTube TV is set
already for the 50th anniversary.
I didn't have to do anything for that.
Also keeping on your YouTube TV, because we might be losing everything paramount
related tomorrow.
Well, I want to say real fast.
If I can about SNL in the musical guest,
you know, much historic stuff is showing on that,
because I did see that thing on peacock there.
I mean, how many bands have been on their web's happened musically?
I mean, first is the power station.
The only live performance of the power station with Robert, you know,
was on SNL and half of general.
Yeah, the only live performance was on SNL, but they had.
Now, there's a piece of trivia they didn't talk about in that documentary.
What's that?
The first band to ever play SNL that didn't have a record contract at the time?
Who's that?
Alex, you know, I don't.
It would be one counting crows.
You know, I did know that at one point.
Lauren saw them at a club in New York and was like, just come to SNL,
but you had something you wanted to say, sir.
Yes, I really was going to save it for the end of television talk,
not thinking that it was in your notes.
How do you feel about that concept that being this close to March madness and things of its ilk?
The YouTube TV losing the Paramount network.
Oh, I, you know what?
I hadn't thought about it from that angle.
It was the first thing I thought of.
As of when I powered up this TV, because I've got it on ESPN right now,
CBS is still there.
So, but I have Paramount plus.
So, they'll be showing all the gains.
Okay.
So, so you, for you, it's not as much of an effect,
but do you think that that's part of the angle between YouTube TV and Paramount?
Absolutely.
I think, I think that CBS wants a lot of money.
Yeah.
So, Netflix is inheriting Temptation Island.
Not continued on after being booted from Fox and from USA.
And I'll start March 12th.
Prime video has been filled the Pradeep's of Pittsburgh after one season.
This was a sitcom they had about a median who brought his family over from India.
And they lived hence in Pittsburgh.
And they have renewed the rings of power for season three.
I, it still baffles me.
I couldn't get into it.
I still, I'm still stuck in the middle of the first episode.
TV on DVD and Blu-ray, a friend who got a friend of the show that's part of this.
And one of the major creators of the American dub of this,
heaven's official blessing season two will be available on TV and Blu-ray Tuesday.
And season two of Monster High, who I have also currently recently interviewed a member of that cast.
So, me, Kevin Bacon, yay.
Okay.
We got to talk music, boys.
Okay.
We have to do our annual list
because the nominees for the 2025 rock and roll hall of fame was announced officially today.
We go through them one by one, usually five to seven get in.
These are alphabetical.
This is one of my favorite segments of the year, and I can't even explain why.
The first one kind of shocked their not in.
Bad company.
Let me ask is how many nominees are there right now on the 14 14.
I'd say in they deserve it.
I've seen them live there incredible.
I know of them, but I feel like they were too early for me to know their full discography.
But what I know, I've always liked.
So I'd say yes, tentatively, they're their lead singer,
Nile Rogers at one time, toured with Queen.
One of their biggest hits was called feel like making love.
Yeah.
It's been ruined for me by South Park.
The chef eight episode, Ned, your fransky sings feel like making love.
And I can't get it out of my head.
Another, another one that I don't know that any of us would disagree with,
because it's for those you playing the home game,
we're coming up on the 35th anniversary of their first album, The Black Crows.
They're not already in no sir.
Those albums were strong.
Yeah, that's a big yes for me.
Shake your money, major.
And Southern Harmony and musical companion.
Yeah, it should have been when those two albums were done.
Like fantastic.
She talks to angels is a masterclass in songwriting.
And Remedy is just a banger.
I don't care who.
That was a karaoke staple for many years for me.
I can imagine.
Mariah Carey.
This is also the 35th anniversary of her first album.
And I broke a hip when I said that.
I had the poster of the back of her first album.
That poster was on my dorm room, dorm in college.
That's how shout out to Logan Rogue.
I accepted the USF.
I want to see the rest of the list before I put her as a maybe.
Honestly, if even for just her holiday, you know, queen.
Rain.
I would say that she's actually number one on the list for me right now to go in.
And it was hard to knock her off.
I wish the only time I ever saw her live.
She was a little bit more coherent.
I was going to say sober.
But I can't verify what was going on.
Phil and Shan, I went inside.
It was her and Lionel Richie at the American Airlines Center.
And it was a great show, but Mariah was not all there.
I thought you were referring to the holiday performance a couple of years ago,
where she was obviously not all there.
I wasn't surprised.
Oh, her live.
I was in person.
Gotcha.
Um, shall we check her?
Yes.
Top of the list.
I, again, I don't know the full discography, but I definitely know the name,
which has to carry weight.
I'd have to say yes, just from a pure standpoint.
It was either I came, I think it was him.
That was the creation of Dick Clark productions in response to facts domino.
It's that way of sense around.
Uh, Billy Idol.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah.
I agree.
If only for them to have to play his scenes from the wedding singer.
But just don't play the entire version of white wedding,
I don't know.
Uh, another person I'm surprised not in Joe Cocker.
Yeah.
I can't, I can't say a no to anybody yet.
Joy Division slash new order.
Absolutely.
No.
Only seven.
I put them at the bottom.
That's the back.
Cindy Lauper.
Yes.
Number one.
I did watch that documentary that, um,
that they did it on her on Paramount Plus.
It's really good.
Nice.
Okay.
This next one you got to roll with me for a minute because I'm saying yes,
but only because of my knowledge of this band.
And I'm going to say it and I'm just going to go ahead and do the drop after it.
They are called Mana.
Do do do do do.
Uh, they are a Spanish band that has been around for.
And they are.
They are.
They are.
They sold out technical stadium.
Back in the day.
I, it's the first one I have to say no to, but purely because the drop you did is the only thing.
But yeah, it's, I know who Mana is and no doubt in my mind they should be.
You know, what I mean is, you know,
a lot of people who are trying to influence on Spanish music overall,
especially from a rock and roll standpoint,
I can't deny it.
But what I was going to say is,
do they have special wings like it would be?
You know, the Latin American contingent's representative for the.
You're also talking about him using the closes at 530, okay?
I don't know anything about it.
It's in where is it?
Because I'm not going there.
That's why you don't want to be there.
Oh, did I did we just lose Alex?
Yeah, there he is. He just caught up.
He's back. Nope. Now he's frozen.
Now you're back. That was okay. That was weird.
But yeah, it's in Cleveland.
Okay, because Cleveland where the very first rock and roll show was held. Yeah, that's why it's there.
Alan Frieden.
Uh, it's also the only. I don't want to say yes, but I also can't deny it because this band drives me to the brink.
Oasis.
I
maybe, but I think there's not over Cindy Lauper, not over Billy Idol.
Yeah, I wouldn't put them at the top of the list.
But Oasis hits me just from a generational standpoint.
That was right in the formative Alex years. So I have to say yes.
I say deserving, but not, but not them getting you on top of the card.
Your hip hop nominee this year is outcast. Oh, hell yeah.
I agree.
I love outcast.
And both of them have such immense talent both in and out of the group.
Uh, I remember I got their first album on a bootleg.
Like maybe three months before it dropped.
And I just, I played the ever loving hell at that.
I can listen to the way you move on a looper. Absolutely. And elevators is another great song.
I mean, they have a lot of great ones. Fish with a pH.
This goes into the psychedelic wing.
Not me.
Well, I they'd have to have their own induction ceremony because the tribute would take three hours. That's also true.
Either of you disagree with me. I am calling you are a communist.
Absolutely yes for sound garden.
Yeah.
Yeah, but not over Cindy Lauper.
They got to be at the top of the list. They just got to be on the list.
I'm not over Joe Cocker. I'd have to look at all 14 and say if they're seven, this is how you know,
and your last nominee on the list would be the white stripes.
Now, I want to say yes.
But it's definitely not high enough up the list for even for some nation army to be like the greatest baseline.
But Jack White by himself.
The man's done a ton. That is fact.
And I like Meg White. I do like she's a great drummer, but the white stripes kind of weird for me. All right. Let's get into.
Stuff we watch this week.
Movie edition. I have a movie.
What you got this came out a couple of years ago. I found it on YouTube.
It's called token taverns. It's a documentary. It's about an hour thirty five. And it's about the rise of the barcade.
And all of them are in Florida. There's one in Fort Lauderdale. The rest of them are in Tampa, St. Pete.
What the rise of what did you say?
Barcaids.
Bar arcade. Barcade. Okay. Barcade. Okay.
Like the side arcade. Okay.
But it also takes place from nineteen twenty nineteen to twenty twenty.
So it chronicles how these five different barcades dealt with the pandemic.
And one of them is in Dunedin.
Where my mom grew up.
As did Kid Crack. Kid Crack in my mom went to the same high school around the same time.
Here moms from Dunedin.
She was born in Jamestown, but they lived in Dunedin most of her life. Yeah.
I spent a lot of time in Dunedin. That's how that's how that's how going to USF was easy for me.
Because I knew that whole area because I've been going back and forth up there my whole life.
And I was in St. Lousy with the Metz and we played where he had Dunedin is the blue was the blue jays for years.
So that's where we were at.
Country side mall.
Welcome to your local Florida backwood talk.
It's pretty good.
I don't know if it's one that I'm sad I missed in its first run.
It's worth a watch on on YouTube and it does feature Billy Mitchell. So be prepared for that.
The funniest part of it though. The first time he's on screen they put his name on there.
And underneath it is a self-proclaimed video game player.
Well played.
Well played.
It's pretty good.
It's pretty good.
So anything.
Anything you guys watch this week?
Maybe why is nothing really new enough?
I have an interesting question to fit into this.
Please do.
So it's not per se a movie, but it's not a TV show.
The new standup special from Felipe Esparza on Netflix.
I like him a lot.
Is hilarious.
Like it's been a long time since I've watched a special that had me like.
Herding because my sides were just shaking up from laughter.
He got me.
If we go back, um, another great commercial in the Super Bowl was the Nate Bargazzi Dordash commercial.
Or Uber Eats or whichever one it was.
That one.
He's still boring as hell to me.
I love him.
I do.
Is so you have the name of that.
Esparza special.
I believe it was called raging fool.
I believe you're right.
Because another YouTube channel I watch called Flick Connection.
He does like, here's what's new that I've been looking forward to.
And he'll be like prime video.
He'll do one for Netflix.
Yeah.
I think that's what he said it was.
That sounds right to me.
Yeah, but it was it was absolutely hilarious.
The only headline we have this week is more casting news for.
The Masters of the Universe live action film.
Which sounds more and more insane with everyone.
It means pure four in Charlotte Riley will play Prince Adam's parents.
Okay.
How core Joe Hannison will be Fisto.
And that's a real thing.
And playing the Sorceress.
Monica backer in.
Let's go.
Marina backer.
Oh, I did.
You are correct.
I go.
I wonder if it auto corrected me.
It's like, no, that can't be right.
Marina backer.
And I do apologize to the leveling town in Marina backer.
Yes, I love her.
She is in NAR.
She gets you pass forever.
Movie releases in places you get movie, new releases this week.
Captain America Brave New World drops tonight.
Under two hours.
So for the show.
Mark Walters has seen it.
I haven't had a chance to talk to him about it because we didn't get that invite.
Also the documentary and it's going to be interesting because both Brave New World
and this next one are both going to be I'm acts releases.
So I'm going to be able to see how this works because the documentary
becoming Led Zeppelin also drops this week.
That that would fascinate me if there was some kind of a negotiation
here for how that works.
Like maybe you've got two theaters that are within shooting distance of
each other and you just split it.
Well, especially if we go in the way back machine, the up
evil for our Oppenheimer screening that was supposed to be an
IMAX because the mission impossible people refused to give up.
I wanted to make it good before I came out.
There's also a documentary called Desire Lines where an
Iranian American Transman travels back in time.
So this is a documentary.
I guess maybe he's telling his story.
Uh, to an art type of documentary itself discovery.
That's the MDIP calls it a documentary.
So you get an IV TV on DVD and Blu-ray this coming week.
Noose Faratu.
You'll be available to you this week.
Lord of the Rings, the War of the Rohiram, the anime thing,
which I'm looking forward to seeing another one of Don's favorite films
from last year, September 5th, available this week.
The order, which that is a faith-based film, I think.
Let me look hold on.
That's the forge, not the order.
I went to the wrong website.
September 5th, where's that?
Did you say DVD and Blu-ray next week?
Oh, Blu-ray.
Okay, I thought it was streaming.
No, we don't report on streaming dates done.
Here we go.
This is a film that got a lot of, this is an action film.
Let me see if I can get the thing for you on this,
because I don't want, I've already screwed up once in this segment.
This stars Jude Law and Nicholas Holt and Ty Sheridan.
It's a, uh, oh, that one kind of wants to be Denefeat.
Yeah.
Also, this week, we've got, let me get out of back out of these,
because they're taking up a lot of memory.
Uh, the, your 4K releases this week are Constantine.
Nice.
Humanoid's from the deep.
Going back in the crates.
Wow.
Panic Room, the social network,
Summer Rental and Uncle Buck all getting 4K releases this week,
and the Criterion Collection releases Crossing Delancy
and Drugstore Calvoid.
Last week, I did see a video from, go ahead.
You wanted me to make sure you talked about the Criterion Closet.
That's what I was just about to do.
Thank you.
Okay.
I watched a YouTube video last week about a young lady who went to it in New York.
I'm not feeling real good if it makes it here.
Because first of all, you can't make reservations.
So you get there and you stand in line.
She said she got up at five in the morning,
and she sat in line for six hours during the New York Film Festival,
and there were people that had tickets for movies that had to leave and come back.
You're allowed to film in there.
They are also filming.
Here's the other thing.
Now, as we know, everything in the closet is going to be 40 percent off.
You're allowed to three things.
But she did say that they were, if you want more, that they take that,
that you can talk about three on camera,
but then that if you want other stuff to be waiting for you,
but she started by saying you're allowed to pick three things.
So I don't know if that's three things you can talk about on camera,
or three things, period.
So I think that they do need to have people make reservations,
especially if they're going to take it at home festivals.
I am going to reach out to friend of the show James Files
and see if they've reached out about that because having that at dip,
I think would be pretty dope.
Yeah.
But I love the criterion collection.
I've actually got the original version of 310 to Yuma on its way to me.
And this weekend is a holiday weekend,
so we'll be trading company sales.
Yep.
I've got a gift card I want to use because I want to get,
it's a mad mad mad world.
Nice.
Because that's, I didn't realize that movie was going to have hours long.
Yeah.
Let's see.
Oh, and now this.
It's time to get it into the world of professional wrestling.
That's what the Cheap Popcast does.
Especially now that we're, uh,
taking it full strength again.
Couple of your non-mainstream headlines.
Treplea Treplea Monia.
33 or preintate trace technically is now set for August 16th.
So mark your calendars there.
And congratulations.
Before you move off of that, did you see who is expected to perform
at the show that would be very noteworthy?
I did not.
A still under contract Chad Gable.
Oh, it's wrong.
You know, he's, he's learning the ways of lucha.
Exactly.
So this opens up a whole lot of whatever.
But I also want him as WWE talent.
Getting to work for other companies again.
I want there to be vignettes of him going to these shows and trying to learn
and just getting beat down left and right.
Get a book in the checkbook.on it.
And congratulations to Heroki Goto.
He is finally your new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
There's another one we'll talk about later.
TNA has said that they're President
and the Anthony Chiakone,
Kristi Hemi and Josh Matthews are no longer working for TNA behind the scenes.
Really?
Yeah.
And while I read this right before we started,
maybe an hour or so before, first of all, happy 29th birthday to Chris Bay.
Yes, the video today of him walking on his own.
And there was a full write-up that I was brought to tears.
So it's so inspirational.
Nothing but great things for that, dude.
Oh, that's in the wrong place.
Move that.
And it was good to see jazz on impact this past week.
Let's where are we?
We are here.
I just, I had a headline in the wrong place.
Getting to WWE, it's almost springtime, which means releases.
Yeah.
Here is your current list.
Cedric Alexander.
Hurt Syndicate.
That's going to say welcome to the Hurt Syndicate.
The good brothers.
New Japan.
Well, especially after I saw headline today,
where evil returns and
else the dogs before they're in a longer part of bullet club.
So yeah, get them in there quickly.
Authors of pain and paul alluring.
I saw that they were already talking to NWA.
That would be awesome.
Them versus BFT?
Oh, yeah.
Blair Davenport?
She'll probably have to go back to the UK.
She might go to Ring of Honor.
She was there for a cup of coffee.
Yeah, it didn't go well.
And was supposedly bad, bad vibes on it.
Ila Dawn.
But not what she said.
Yeah, I love you somehow, but I'm some Ila Dawn.
I would do great tag team too.
I would love to see her in AEW.
Shake that women's division up a little bit.
Sonya Deville.
That one surprised me.
That one surprised me too.
Giovanni Vinci, which you said recently wasn't,
wouldn't have surprised you.
And an electro low pet.
That one kind of surprised me.
But where do you see Sonya going?
I don't know.
Sonya is an ROH right there.
That to me, that's right, right up that alley.
Let me ask since they got released.
Do they have the 90 day know or can they go do some do not?
I know Ila Dawn does because she's been using the Hashtag.
See you in 90.
Yeah, no, it's a releases have the 90 days.
But Sonya Deville isn't actually a release.
It's her contract ending.
So she wouldn't have to wait because they're just not renewing.
Stand and deliver will be at three o'clock Eastern.
If night one of mania starting at five o'clock Eastern.
So be ready for that.
Alex, did you ever get to see that stand and deliver logos since you missed it during the
Yes, yes, I did.
That is very good.
Full on sign off.
Here's the thing.
I want you to think about something.
You're reporting it starts at what time?
Stand and deliver.
Yes.
Three o'clock Eastern.
Which is what time at the venue?
That would be noon.
Yeah, it's like it was for us when it was here.
Exactly.
So if you're taking a shuttle, be ready.
Oh, though allegedly, they have blocked off.
I have gotten reports from people out there.
They have blocked off areas for test runs.
To make sure that there is a path for just the shuttles going between select venues and the stadium.
Headline that dropped today.
Your rumor for mania next year is back in New Orleans.
Yeah, that makes sense.
So snack down this past Friday.
I only know
what's the end of that LA night promo?
Hold on a second.
Don, what were you saying?
Well, I weren't there talking about trying to get that to Indianapolis or something like that for next year after you're after.
You may I might be New Orleans and Indy.
Probably.
Okay.
The end of that LA night promo.
Great.
What I'm reading, there's no heat with him and Drew McIntyre.
But him saying, oh, wait, hold on.
I got to get my stuff in.
I was like, yeah.
Yeah.
And then and then the shoot fake shots that they were taking at each other with the slaps.
My only note for raw.
Is a sign in the crowd.
And I don't know if you saw it.
It showed up right before the Logan Paul promo on the right side of the screen right next to CM Punk.
Say it.
But it's simply just said.
B.O. Sworn.
Hashtag HDGM.
I was so happy.
That brought me so much joy.
I was like, I want to text Alex.
No, because if he doesn't notice, I want to know on the show.
Oh my God.
No, I didn't see it.
Yes, it's go back to the end of the show.
Into the CM Punk promo.
It's right next to his head.
And it doesn't leave for that entire segment.
That was the segment where the music hit and CM Punk into a live microphone said,
who is this?
I don't know this.
So I do want to say, you know, last week I made the mistake.
I had to go back and run and watch the new days, new entrance where they do have it.
I just when I was going through Netflix, I'm so I miss that part.
But you're right.
It just reminds me that's another Judgment Day entrance.
No, I didn't know the Judgment Day entrance.
That is that is a video game reference of some form that I do not get, but I love it.
But you say it's still kind of dark and stuff like that.
Mark, but I did not make any comparisons to the Judgment Day.
You know, I didn't even say that for some, but I have to go back and look at it.
The kind of thing is the darkness that loud music all that reminds me of.
It is made video game reference of some form like like a Diablo kind of a presentation.
It looked like they didn't have they didn't show up to the very, very end on Monday night.
So you didn't get to see it this week.
But I would say, yeah, I'll go back and watch it from two shot episodes ago.
It's pretty dope. I like it.
Vengeance Day is Saturday.
Yes, it is.
For that.
And roadblock will be a normal Tuesday night show, March 11th at the theater at MSG.
Which is it's kind of cool that they're getting to do that.
So that will always be the house of the NFL draft to me.
And enter Ricky Starks.
Now here's the wait, wait.
It only inferred only the crowd said Ricky starts where I'm going.
Because I noticed that as soon as it was done, I'm like, they never said his name.
The crowd did.
Yeah.
But I didn't realize he had a little swim in 2013 where he was like a random guy that
Ryback got in the face of that picture today.
And he hasn't aged a day in 12 years.
Shocking.
Yeah.
So I'm going to, you know, Alex, when you texted me, I didn't return your text
because I wasn't going to say anything because you had gotten to that point.
And you had said, I think that telegraphs Tony not losing the title.
Right.
I purposely did not respond because I'm like, I'm not going to ruin this ending
because we had the Izzy Dane turn that we've all been waiting for for weeks.
She joins forces with Sean Pierce and whatever they're going to call themselves.
Speaking of that, there's a new name that I don't like.
So we'll see where this all goes.
And I think Ricky Starks, he'll be involved on Saturday on some, on some front.
Well, but I also like, did you see the report of why he's in an XT?
They, because they thought he'd get lost in the, on the main roster.
So they wanted him to give, but they were saying that
everything on the main roster was already in flight.
Oh, I mean, yeah.
So it wouldn't really have a space where he could make more of an impact on XT.
And then you'd be part of Stan and deliver if you wanted to be.
Did you see a, a new signing for the company responding to the new trademark name list?
So you know that whenever they do a like bulk name trademark where, you know, where they had
like Seth Rollins' trademark, Roman Reigns' trademark, they posted the list the other day.
It was important.
Yes, I love this.
And she just replied with, I'll take Trill London.
And I just thought of how you use Ricky Starks for Stan and deliver.
Bring back the latter match for the North American title.
That is an interesting idea.
We loved watching that match when we saw it live.
Yeah, so yeah, do that.
And I still remember, like, I feel like there's a part of me that always remembers thinking Grayson
Waller actually died.
Grand Slam Australia is this Saturday.
At some point, I can't find it on my YouTube TV to hit its record.
But there is a reason for that.
Well, because they don't know when it's going to start.
Exactly.
So I want to, I want to pose this question that I have, I have thought of
and it didn't occur to me right off the bat, but nobody else has said something.
So this is AEWs.
Grand Slam down under, right?
Brisbane Brawl.
Well, that's one of the matches, but so it's start time is dependent on the NBA all-star
Saturday on peep delay.
Excuse me?
It'll be on tape delay.
Yes, but what I'm saying is when it would be available on TV here.
Right.
So one of the most advertised things for all-star Saturday is the celebrity game.
One of the most popular celebrities that has been advertised for it is Bailey.
So you have Bailey being the last thing holding up when AEWs show can start.
Which is featured with her best friend.
Which by the way, that segment on Dynamite with Harley Cameron, holy wow.
Best work she's ever done, not even cars.
I feel like I don't know that I said anything, but smirching about I don't get it early on,
but I think I did.
And Ms. Cameron, Danny, if I can, I apologize.
I was wrong. You are awesome.
I was ready for this when I found out that I actually cut that and embarrassed me.
I knew something was going to be good with her when I found out that she was the voice of
for the Iconics in TNA, when they were the inspiration, I think.
Yep.
So Miro also gone from AEW officially.
And the Youngbox did drop the IWGP tag titles to Naito and Takahashi.
Let me ask, where do you think Miro goes?
I don't think he goes back to the company anywhere it's going to be TNA.
I mean, I can see him in NWA.
I think he'll be back with the company pseudo.
But he'll be that middle guy for TNA.
The way that he'll be like the tradeoff for Joe Hendry.
And what about his wife, CJ, what's she at?
They're not married anymore, Don.
I know that.
I mean, they haven't been for a few years or maybe in about a year now, I think.
They were separated for a few years.
I mean, there's plenty of opportunities for
Hoss fights for him in NWA.
Does there are some weren't humans in that particular promotion?
Still waiting on to find out of certain thing made it to television
because they haven't gotten to our tapings yet.
And I've only told like two people.
I've been told anybody else because if it is on video,
it will be all over social media and I don't care.
Do you want the other question that was asked of me not long ago?
What's that?
Is that why you weren't drinking your water?
Fair enough.
Collision and a couple of notes.
Are we recycling the Wheeler U to Engle with Mark Davis?
Yeah, kind of.
They're trying to, oh, it's different because Wheeler is the young guy and
Mark's a big guy.
Now shut up.
And this is something that I've had a problem with for years.
Unless there is a stipulation.
If there are three teams in the match, there are three people in the ring.
I don't know how you can tag anybody.
No, it's team versus team versus team.
I want one representative from each team in the ring at all times.
It's the fair and balanced way.
Yes.
Don't like that when they do that.
No, unless it's a stipulation where it's like tornado rules or whatever.
Okay, there's exactly one reason it was ever good to use.
And that was the first time the new day wound up
faced off with each other and you had all the heels being like, oh, yeah.
Now they're going to fight.
And it's like, oh, wait, if we pin each other, we win.
And it was like, quick roll up and all the heels dove in.
That's the only time it's ever been a good thing.
And apparently, Cody and Dustin's nephews have debuted with AEW.
I want to take it more recently.
Of tonight's ring of honor was all matches from the Jericho crews.
Nice.
And they even changed the color scheme in the opening montage
to match the color scheme of the crew, which was kind of cool.
And your opening match was not Mansoor from MXM.
Mansoor in a speed of very uncomfortable.
But facing machismo.
Yep.
Very much enjoyed that.
And global wars will also be part of the Brisbane tapings this weekend.
Nice.
You're bringing that back.
And rumors and pictures have surfaced.
Don, pay attention.
There is a group called the righteous in ring of righteous.
Vinnie is kind of a Charles Manson type figure.
Wait, wait, wait.
Vinnie knows Vinnie.
He knows because he was in the kingdom.
The guy with the bread.
That was Vincent.
Who's the guy that just looks like he's just playing John Goodman in the righteous?
That's exactly what it is.
And they have a new member, Don.
Oh, they do.
They do.
And you will want to walk with him.
Oh, really?
Does he have the beard and everything though?
The beard is back.
The hair is back.
They dress in all white.
I don't know if I got one though.
Is that a car?
Yeah.
So get ready for that.
To walk with Elijah.
Which fits in with the righteous's bit.
So.
Well, he had actually trademarked Elijah and had been using it
from the day he left the company.
So anything else you boys want to talk about?
No, I think that covers it.
All right.
