Hello. It's the first day of winter. Happy winter.

Happy winter solstice, too. It is. Yeah, first day of winter and it's shortest day of the year.

Yes. Although I can't really tell. Yeah.

I'm not having that Christmas feeling here locally. We will in a couple of days. Yeah.

I believe that. But those of you that don't know here in Dallas, it is very warm right now. It's short weather.

I grew up with this. I don't want to be around this. I want seasons.

But this weekend is going to get really warm. We're going to have a really nice cold Christmas day, so I'm looking forward to that. We welcome you to episode 24, the week of the 24th of December, which is Christmas Eve coming up in three days.

As always, we start with corrections. I did call Pricewaterhouse this weekend. They said there was one.

You are stuck on this three division NFL thing, where you said last week that Chicago was going to win the central division. There is no more central division in the NFL at all. The show was in the NFC North, but you know, it was a better world.

It was a simpler time. It was a better world when all that was going on. And then you know, it's Charleston, our course.

Hey, the big win. The only team to walk into that later on, but the only team to clinch the division. That's true.

Well, no, there's another one. Oh, yeah, New England. But in the NFC, the only team to clinch the division.

Last week, Jake Glazer on Twitter, reporting that Eric Mangini will be out of his job with Cleveland at the end of the season. Do you really get rid of this guy? I mean, it's Cleveland.

I just hope Holmgren doesn't try the whole coach manager. General manager. Jerry thing?

Yeah. Well, not. They don't well pretty much, but Jerry wants.

I could see him doing that though, but I thought Cleveland, all things considered at five and nine. You could have worse years. You could have worse years.

Okay biggest disappointment biggest surprise biggest disappointment for me is gonna be my dark horse team Yeah, I picked Seattle With my heart of heart said this team's gonna go this team's gonna make it happen and They have done nothing but stink up the joint and can still almost They're trying to win the division. Yeah As far as biggest the surprise We're gonna go to another dark horse team and I'm gonna go to miss these dark horse team with Kansas City lighten the world on fire Yeah, I don't know what's caused that.

I mean you pretty much got new England central planes going on there You know former, you know they You pretty much got a situation there with a lot of former Kansas I mean a new England coordinators there defensive and offensive and then the GM was it new England for a short time so you've got You've got something building there that I think can be really good Well, you've got a quarterback that's playing out For him I'm glad that he's doing something and not just this isn't another Situation where all he's washed up, but yeah, Kansas City's one for me my biggest disappointment. I know there's obvious ones Dallas am I see I was leaving out of the equation because that's everybody to me a big disappointment to me has been the San Francisco 49ers see and I For you maybe but for me I just kind of I'm at the point where I think this out I think a lot of people in nationally not just me, you know, you know people. I don't they were picked in our dark worst contest I really thought single Terry had them going in the right direction at the seasons and last year I'm curious if that seat's not getting hot already.

It's got to be and they were big this Big disappointment to me because they ought to be dominating the weakest division in the National Football League in my opinion That's like a Tosha with Seattle still competitive. Yeah, you know, um, and you've got St. Louis at six and eight.

They all have top-breakers right now We see I'm also and you and I've talked about this I don't know if we've talked about this on air, but I am of the firm opinion if you do not if you are not 500 or better you don't get into the play-out that's something that they're talking about with the competition committee next year is Maybe trying to rework this deal. I think the division winner still makes the playoffs They just don't need to host a play-off game my opinion. I had them on the road.

Well, I can't I can't Let's say St. Louis wins that division. They're host to the play-off game Yeah, but I but again we're we're Rewarding mediocrity that's true that's true and we're kind of walking walking the dog here my biggest surprise to me is Phil Delphia You know what I won't debate that because but here's my thing Is it film a Delphia or is it Michael Fick because you know, they're playing well defensively?

um I don't see where they're if I had to just Close my eyes and go they are in a suitable because other than Atlanta They're the only team the NFC that that should scare people if you're a wild card or you're a team that barely gets in my opinion Vic Vic's had a good year. He's a surprise. I'll be honest with you if I had MVP vote today, and it was Brady or Vic I'm going Vic.

I I would tell you the same thing. I don't have the guys Yeah, you're talking MVP and you're going strictly on the field work that guys numbers are up there He's he's torching every but Phil Delphia was in a situation where they told their fans pretty much new and ownership new and coaching staff This is a rebuilding here the Kevin Cobb era and Phil Delphia was going to start and Michael Vic comes in there and he's just Looks amazing if if you hadn't checked out the last the last three minutes of that game Sunday between them and the Giants Did you and I sit down that whole fourth quarter? I mean, I was just what in the world's good.

Yeah, he took over him and His wide receivers took over that game more you do Jeremy Maclin Probably more than the Sean Jackson, but Jeremy Maclin really had a good game But yeah, I just want to see biggest disappointments biggest surprises. Yes Random thought this week. I want to talk about Christmas family traditions Yeah, you and I both very much love this time of year. It is my personal favorite time of year outside of my birthday and Is there anything that maybe you remember growing up that maybe It might be a little different from the norm Yeah, and that's right.

I do that. That's a holiday tradition That's almost a daily tradition That's gonna say is that just the holidays and I'll have a little drink um I will probably be Portaking in a couple tops with my brother-in-law Christmas night um You know as being newly married. This is my second actually my third christmas Mean de amber going in and leaving married through it not married moving together for three Christmas kind of weird But my second one actually married Um, we're trying to set up traditions now one of the ones we always did as a kid which I did with my My family last weekend was the home the making of homemade candy Christmas cookies that sort of thing We've actually now brought that into our holiday first year.

We've done it All of us really enjoyed it. So that my it's one of them for me We always got together with my grandparents and Tampa my all the cousins and everything we get together One thing we did because my cousins all had other Christmases to go to So we would get together on Christmas Eve and we would open the presents from everybody else Christmas Eve But you did your immediate family Christmas morning. Yeah, so that way everybody could see you open the gifts and whatnot You know was always And even since even as recently as my mid-twenties I would go to my grandparents house and all the grandkids who were all grown people now We're still at a card table in the patio and you go to sleep with the Bafuti pajamas not yet Oh, but you know We were wondering if we would get the bowls with the face in the bottom of them still we weren't sure But or the plaster the spork a the greatness of the spork, sir We got actually silverware and stuff, but it was always everybody got together You had the big dinner the grandkids were always off at the card table Yes, and then it felt like that 30 minutes it took them to clean up and load the dishwasher and get to the tree felt like four and a half hours That's right because we weren't allowed to touch anything under the tree while while the adults were cleaning up And so we would all just sit there and just wait and it felt like there was no TV in the room Which made it worse because you didn't have nothing to pass the time pass the time.

Yeah, but I traditions This year my my wise family does some stuff Christmas Eve. I'm actually going first time.
