It is 1:00 p.m. on the East Coast. It is 10:00 a.m. on the West Coast. It is the third 3rd 3rd of October in the year of our Lord 2020. Season 11, episode 10. 543 times this face and or this voice has welcomed you to the Clubhouse podcast live on the Vocal Now Network. VKnow.com is where you want to bookmark, download the app as well. So much amazing stuff going on with Vocal right now, but as you can see, we're not in the studio today because it is pay-per-view weekend. So when it's on pay-per-view weekend, not only do we move the show to Saturday, but we do it via Zoom so everybody can enjoy a day at home.
Welcome. This is not a virtual background. This is really in my studio. Welcome. My name is Rob. I am the executive producer of the Clubhouse podcast. And it's about to be a really big week with some surprises that people on this show don't even know they're going to happen. And there's a reason. Let's go around the deis in the order on my screen. Below me on my screen is my co-host and a man if nothing else honors a bet. And I gotta be honest, the shirt is classy. He is Alex. Hey man, I feel like should I just start with the shirt up for the for the reds?
Just right there. Just that's a good looking shirt. Nice training shirt because I'm not going to invest as much you as much as you taught me yesterday. Capital outlay. >> I see. I didn't even realize that particular term and I apologize for that. No, no, no. It it you learn something new every day. But this was a $5 purchase from Walmart because I need to get this bet over. >> Oh, I lost your audio there for a minute. >> Lost my audio for a minute. >> Whoa, now it's really loud. >> I'm not doing anything.
>> You've gone Barry White on me. >> Oh, here we go. Thanks, Rock Wall. Below him on my screen is the lady of the house and someone who is going to also be very instrumental to some cool things happening over the next seven days. She is Jen Roome. Hello to you friend. >> Hello everyone. We're so glad you're back with us once again. >> And rounding out the day because we are skating at full strength today for the first time in a while. He is the official factchecker of Sooner or Gator Productions and a man who may have forgotten which show we're doing today based on his shirt.
You may know him as Igunu, but his mama named him Don Ford. I'm going to call him Don Ford. What's up, man? >> Why can't I wear a a shirt of a man who's better than me and I know it during this show. >> Nobody says you can't, but sometimes you got to work a theme, brother. >> Also, the same person who constantly holds up the other show's water bottle. Dude, you make him you may need to completely log back in. It's bad right now. >> It is. I hate to say. >> So, we'll get we'll stall with Alex for just a minute.
Where he lives, the internet can be a little bit spotty. So, we're going to get him logged back in. See if we can refresh his connection so he doesn't sound like Barry White with a cold. Uh, as we kind of stall just a little bit. We want to thank everybody for being here. Next week, we will be back to abnormal for a couple of weeks. Back. Our normal show is at 7 Eastern uh 4 Pacific if I did my math right. 11 years in. I should probably know what time the dog on show starts. Alex is re-entering the room now.
So, let's get him back into the deis. Talk to me, brother. >> Are we better now? >> No, it's the same. >> Yeah, it's because I have a full house and everybody's using the damn internet. We're just going to have to uh we're going to fight through it because that's what we do. So, as we start with NASCAR, I don't know if you guys saw the announcement that was made, I believe this morning by by NASCAR, but in 2021, we're making a huge huge throwback change in NASCAR. At the Bristol race in March, they're going to race on dirt.
We are going all the way back because if if those of you that don't know, the Daytona 500 used to be run on the beach, which is incredibly unstable and there's no way you could use the car after that race for another race. It's just not possible. But Bristol going to do a fullblown uh dirt race coming up. This ought to be really interesting. Uh because usually you only see the big tire things on there. Would this intrigue uh Alex's rebooting real quick? Jen Ro, Dom, would this intrigue either one of you to watch this race?
>> Oh, yeah. I I I can remember seeing the dirt races and the risk factor of it. I don't want anyone to be at risk. I know they're safe and I know they take all kinds of precautions. >> Absolutely. >> But knowing it's not something I personally could ever do, it's just neat to see someone who's trained and practiced and learned a different way. Plus, it's really cool to see on the beach or on the dirt. It just it takes some of the technology out of it and takes it back to more of its true form. And I got to respect that.
>> Don, what are your thoughts on that? >> It's something different, something new, better than just a little track. It's like, you know, when it's at a regular um event like a regular like Texas Motor Speedway, it's like, hey, you know, I could watch cars go really fast on the interstate, but now being on dirt, it's something different. This might be a little more interesting to watch. >> Well, I think General brings up a very interesting point when it comes to the technology because I I I'm kind of a different opinion on that.
I think this is going to take the technology to a different place because now they've got to account in those engines for all the dirt that's going to be kicked up. So, they've got to kind of change the way they do things when you're racing on dirt versus when you're racing on asphalt because you've got to you probably have to use different tires. You've got to protect the engine better because it's not like you can have 19 cars to switch out. I think NASCAR only gives you a maximum of three to use and I don't think you can even switch them out on race day.
Once you're out, you're out. So, I'm going to be really interested. It may be the first full NASCAR race I have watched, maybe ever, depending on what it's up against. And for me on the technology, I wasn't thinking so much of the vehicle itself and how it operates, more of advancements in track and design and the things that they can manually control, the wetting it down, the drying it off, um man-made surface versus this is what the earth brought us, this is what we're going to use, and they have no control.
I think it being in March has has plays a big role in it because it's in the springtime. So, you're not necessarily dealing with uh as many of the elements as you would say in July or November. So, and I'm assuming it's going to be at the same track. So, they're going to have to dig up unless I mean I would hope they do it at a different facility because you'd have to dig up all that track and then put it back down afterwards. Unless that's an easier process than I realize for what NASCAR does. I really don't know.
or lay the dirt on top of it and sweep it off. >> Also possible. Alex about to rejoin us now. Uh, waiting for him to come into play. There he is. Hey, brother. >> How we doing? >> Much better. So, we were just asking the opinions on this Bristol announcement, and I know you gave me a thumbs up as I started to talk about it, but I'm glad you got back before we moved on because I really wanted your opinion on what you think about this thing in Bristol in March. >> Well, being the loyal Fidian, semi-loyal, let me put it that way.
on certain aspect. >> One half half this this show are loyal Fidians. >> Fair. >> Uh I really like the historical aspect to it. Plus as a not big fan of NASCAR because it's okay. The road courses are kind of cool because they're unique. Everything else turning left, turning left, turning left. And that's coming from somebody who actually worked on a pit crew at one point for a dirt track. So, I don't really care. So, giving us something unique and interesting is amazing. And I the last thing I heard before uh dropping off to try and do this reset was you talking about like there's no way they could reuse the cars.
Well, the good news is because there's such shells now, so little of it is actually reused. And if you think about it, they'll just break down the motors, swap them out. That's why NASCAR is such an expensive team to run. that you wind up having all these alternate parts that need to be cleaned up and tuned up and everything else that goes along with it. So, it's not that big of a change for them. They literally just swap motors and everything else. They probably not even use the same chassis uh or cage for those playing the home game.
So, this just adds a wrinkle that's so much more fun, especially if we're going to get some classic dirt track. And if you haven't seen a dirt track race, going straight is optional. >> Absolutely. And usually you lose to they were drifting before they did it in Tokyo. Let's just put it that way. >> I don't know if it's optional or as more uh factual. >> It's more physics-based than anything else. Uh let's get into the top 10 finishers. >> Got to go slower. >> Yeah, there you go. Uh let's get into last week's top 10 finishers at Vegas because we didn't have a show last week.
So, we can talk about last week's results because they don't race until tomorrow. So Kevin Harvick starts at the pole position, winds up in 10th in the number four Ford. He is right behind Bucher. Bucher Chris Bucher starting in 16th, winding up in ninth in the number 17 Ford. Starting in 13th, winding up in eighth in the number 20 Toyota Jones. Is that how he finishes? He finishes right behind the stone. Ryan Blay starting in 15th, winding up in seventh in the number 12 Ford. Starting in the second position, dropping to sixth by the end of the race.
Kyle Bouge in the number 18 Toyota. Alex Bowman, he is the archer. Starts in eighth, winds up in fifth in the number 88 Chevrolet, the old junior car. Martin Shrux Jr. starts in 11th, winds up in fourth in the number 19 Toyota. In the bronze medal, Denny Moons over my Hamlin starts in 10th, winds up in third in the number 11 Toyota. The made guy de Branad in the number 21 Ford starts in 19 takes the silver medal and winning the race in overtime with a career record of 0 and21 at Las Vegas that which is his home track.
He wins the race in overtime which I didn't know was a thing in NASCAR. Apparently it is. Kurt B in the number one Chevrolet. Let's go to your standings right now because we are officially in the round of eight. So Bowman is the low man on the totem pole right now. Everybody is just within points right now. So let's keep it moving. All right, there we go. He is 61 points back. He is 11 points back on Bowman. Bowman is only one point back on Chase Elliott, Attorney Law. Elliot is one point back on Logan.
Logano is four points back on Trux. Trux is only a point back on Kzalowski. Kezalowski is 42 points back on Hamlin. Hamlin now three points back on your current leader, Kevin Harvick. Next week, as we continue the round of eight, next week being tomorrow, we will be at Tallaladega at 2:00 Eastern on NBC proper because NBC doesn't carry daytime games of the NFL. They're going to have the Yellow Wood 500. Don a couple of weeks ago told us what Yellow Wood was. It's you use it for decks and things like that.
So, you got that. Or was that you, Alex, did that? >> Don, >> it was me. It was me. >> Well, Alex made a face like he did it, so I wanted to make sure. No, no. I wasn't present for this, so I'm not familiar. >> Yeah. Yellowwood is a special kind of treated wood that's used to build decks and stuff. >> It's a company It's a company known for Yellowwood's company that's known for making deck wood and stuff like that. And you can buy a whole deck set and everything. So, >> so specially treated wood.
>> Yeah. For >> not founded by the DJ from NWA. Spelled the same way though. And next week, next week, next week, because we're not going to be talking about NASCAR until a week from tomorrow, we will be at Charlotte Motor Speedway, also on NBC for the Bank of America, Roville 400. Don, look up look up what Roville is. R O V A L. I don't know what that is, >> but that'll be at Shallot. As we get closer to the round after that race, we will be down another into another deep round of the playoffs. as we get closer and closer to the final four, which will be uh just only one race or the championship four will only be one race and that will be at Phoenix in November because uh TMS is actually a little bit earlier this year for their second race.
Let's get >> uh real fast. Revel like the the company's called Revel Components. Uh >> okay. uh carbon fiber bicycle wheels designed for your true ride like the big uh bicycles like the uh Armstrong and all those people. They're known for the making the wheels for the >> They should have to race on the bikes. >> I want to see that happen. >> Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. No, narrow it down to the top 10 finishers and just when you think you win it, it's like, but there's more. >> It's like a racing triathlon.
>> Yes. >> I I think big wheels. I think they need to race on big wheels, >> but only if they got the roll tires because that's the whole thing. >> Exactly. Exactly. >> I want big wheels on 12speed tires. >> Yes. >> See, the last three weeks, this show has been on a roll with ideas. I'm telling you, and I'm sorry that we don't have uh our our show with Deon Pike up from a couple of weeks ago. We're having some technical difficulties. We will get that show up and running. But to give you kind of an overview, we talked on this show about how the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is only going for a bot this year.
So, we have decided we're going to do a Twitch stream where we go are going to be doing live commentary of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with Devin Pike. We're getting it set up. It's be prepared to have the best time ever watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. >> Was there a debate on whether or not it qualifies as a parade? That's what I want to know. >> Yeah. I mean, it goes a block. I think that's technically constantly. >> Well, and technically it's going to be over a couple days, that kind of thing.
And that there's going to be no people holding the balloons. It's a special uh like um robotic uh animatronic. Um >> they're going to be on drones. >> Drones. Drones are going to be flying the balloons, not people from below. >> You have no idea how much I like a word. And I normally don't care about >> I think as long as you have one live marching band, someone to lead. >> Well, I don't think any of it's going to be live live. They're going to be taping it over two days. And I think the marching bands are actually going to be taping from their hometowns instead of actually doing the parade.
>> But what I'm saying is as long as it includes a marching band and it's going down the street, to me that qualifies as a parade. I just can't wait for and plus I don't know if you guys saw but New Year's Eve and Times Square also being done virtually this year. >> So, uh, based on the definition, you need more than one marching band and more than one float to qualify as a parade. So, it's a parade. >> All right, there you go. >> Does not matter. >> Let's get into sports. I need Miami to win the next four straight because I am so sick and tired of hearing all the talking heads.
It's over. It was it was the first game like yeah that was a rough deal last night. Miami only loses by 10 which is kind of weird to say about the NBA finals but after getting the doors blown off in game one. I'm just I I just want Miami to win the next four straight just to annoy people because if you remember when they beat the Mavericks they dropped the first two and then won the next four straight after Cuban planned the parade route. So let's not put the nail in the coffin just yet. It's best to seven.
>> Let's also look at the fact that we have a Miami team that by all things considered shouldn't be in this position because >> let's talk about two Miami teams that shouldn't be in the position that they're in right now. >> Well, what I'm talking about is with the NBA garbage. Uh you have LeBron's super team. I don't think that counts as him leading a team. When you have multiple allstars, yeah, that's the NBA now. You created a super team. You have Jimmy Butler and a whole lot of nothing for the most part.
>> Agreed. Underrated. >> Although Bam Adabio, who's probably going to be out for game three, he has >> he's out for game two. So, >> no, they're saying he might be out for game three, too. >> Well, but what I'm saying is I was confirming that he was out for game two and it was that close. >> They lose by 10 without two of their biggest producers. >> It's, you know, one, if we can get everybody healthy, we're going to be okay. But I guess, and that brings up a very interesting question, Alex, so would you say that LeBron's really only won a championship with one team, not three?
If he wins this by your definition, >> it's still a championship. >> But what but what I'm saying is by your definition. >> Oh, okay. You're talking about the one that I should be impressed by where he's done it by himself kind of deal, >> which would be Cleveland, >> which I don't think it counts either >> because he brought in Ky or he had Kyrie. He brought in a bunch of other players there, too. If you remember, he brought in Kevin Love as well, who I by all things I consider is an underrated player, but every time LeBron has never won anything without two other solid allstars.
>> Fair. >> Now, and I I will also admit there has been a lot of the talk of, "Oh, LeBron is the greatest ever." It's like, you can go pound sand. I'd love to say something else, but this is a family-friendly showdeed. Uh, LeBron is either one or 1A the most talented player to ever be in the NBA. He's not even in my top five for best player. He's never created He's never He's a great scorer. He's a great athlete. He's never done anything to show me that he elevates a team. He is a phenomenal talent.
He can score at will almost. not as good of a shooter as he's not even the third best shooter in this finals. Tyler here is impressing me. >> Ladies and gentlemen, thinking this is coming from a guy who thinks the NBA is trash. This is his knowledge. >> Yep. >> Well, because that's sports knowledge of things like this are are in the fiber of Alex Barnhill's being. Let's be let's be honest about that. >> Bone marrow. Let's put it this way. >> Bleeds sports. I have had a two-hour conversation with Bill Simmons just on the NBA.
Let me put it. >> You know, a lot of people give Bill Simmons crap. I like Bill Simmons. I respect Bill Simmons. I enjoy his fine work. >> I I understand giving him crap. Believe me, I understand giving him crap. But in the same vein, that dude knows his stuff >> and a great knowledge of WWE as well. That dude's a huge wrestling fan. But to to circle us back on that tangent, you have to understand, I don't think the NBA was always crap. I think the current product is crap. >> Agreed. >> So, I want to clarify that.
But what we're talking about here is LeBron. Awesome. Awesome talent. I am not taking anything away from the man either because I think he's a good person. >> Agreed. >> Uh although I think the people who are saying like, "Oh, he's never had any controversy." It's like he's probably paid enough people off for that. Um, >> well, there was a little bit when he first came up, >> but what I'm saying a little bit because suddenly he was driving an Escalade as a 16-year-old. I mean, >> if we're being totally honest, I don't care about that.
It it >> that'll never that'll never not be a thing in my opinion. >> Oh, it but at the same time, it's one of those where it's like I'm not going to hold that against him forever. He has done a ton as a great man. not the greatest ever. He's not even the greatest Laker ever. >> Oh, there's no way I'm debating that. >> And honestly, he may not be the top three greatest Laker for me ever. >> So, if you are Doc Rivers and an unemployed coach, please step forward. Not so fast, Doc Rivers. Doc Rivers loses his job as the head coach of the Clears, but as of two days ago, he now works for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Trusting the process, I guess. I like Doc Rivers as a person. I think he's a great motivator. It's still the Philadelphia 76ers. No matter which way you look at it. >> Wow. They gave him a 5-year deal, too. >> He deserves it. >> Well, >> but I don't know that anything can fix that team. It's They're just one of those teams. >> You know what? I I really think that this is actually a good hire because one of the things that that Doc Rivers and why I will always defend him is he's one of the few coaches that emphasizes defense.
He's one of the few coaches that still focuses on playing defense beyond just scoring. Now, he's had, let's just say, not very creative plays to draw up, but if he had a bright young offensive mind, I think he'd be able to push through. And that's one of the problems that they have or that he has had with not being able to get past the second round of any I I want to say any NBA final or any NBA playoffs of late because he's figured out how to have lowscoring games which is half the battle and well we need more to win cuz when you get into the playoffs everybody can score.
When you're in the current form of the NBA garbage everybody can score because that's how the rules are dictated. But if your team can't score, you can't win a game zero zero. That's just basically it. If you could win a game zero, Doc Rivers might have seven championships, but you can't. >> Somebody's got to score at some point. >> Exactly. All right. NFL things have gone a little wacky in the last few days. >> Uh, the process full count at this point for the Tennessee Titans. Have we reached double digits yet, Alex?
>> No. No. I believe we are at eight. >> So this week's >> unless you count personnel and then we're into double digits. >> This work this week's Pittsburgh Steeler Tennessee Titans game has now been pushed back. So Don, you don't have to have any heart failure this weekend. >> Yeah. We also found out this morning, not only not just a mere hours before this show went on the air, is we have a positive COVID 19 test in New England as Cam Newton has tested positive, which has now possibly delayed the the New England uh Kansas City game to Monday or Tuesday.
We do not know for sure when yet. This does affect my fantasy scene, so it does affect me. Um, congratulations. Speaking of Kansas City to Patrick Mahomes, he and his fiance Britney Matthews have welcomed their first child into the the world this week. Alex is telling me to hold on. >> Yeah. Uh before we push off of that, every other player uh that has been tested for New England has been clear, players and personnel. So, nobody else has tested positive. So, they're looking at possibly still playing the game most likely Tuesday.
>> So, this is more of a preemptive measure than anything else at this point. There there is actually a Chiefs player that tested positive as well, but it is a practice squad quarterback who also happens to be from the XFL. >> So, do you think let's let's talk about because I said something like this is probably going to happen and it did. I said that months ago that I could see half the team gets it, whatever. Now you got eight. My thing is the eight that have it, yeah, they have to sit out, they have to stay at home, they have to go to the hospital, they have to take care of themselves, they have the disease.
What about the other team? Should bring the practice squad people up and make them play or do you agree that they should post postpone it for another uh four three four weeks? >> They can't postpone the NFL at this point. We're in full swing. >> Yeah, but they're postponing the game for three four till October 25th. So, they're postponing that Titans Steelers game three or four weeks. Should they just Hey, Titans bring some practice squad people up or should they delay the game? >> You can't do that via the collecting a bargain.
The collective bargaining agreement won't allow them to do that. So do you agree that to the people here let's do you agree that they should delay the game three four weeks or would you say >> well they're not delaying the game three four weeks. This is part of the plan that they had in place before it ever became a thing. Correct. That's why so many teams have matching by weeks is because they already anticipated things like this happening. The only time this will become an issue is if it's post by weeks.
Anytime before the by-weeks the schedule is designed so that it can move around. I mean, whoever is making the NFL schedules is not getting paid enough because even with New England and Kansas City, say it possibly gets delayed, they already have a contingency plan for this. There is a contingency plan for every single schedule. This is one of the reasons why, and yes, Don, you you did bring up the idea of, oh, what what should they do? This is going to be a problem. It's why I have been very steadfast in my statement of the NFL has done things we can't even comprehend to ensure that this season happens.
They they have thought of all of these contingencies. The only one that they have an issue with is if it happens after the by-weeks, then we would wind up extending to possibly a week 18 if the game matters. >> Yeah. Then what happens? Do they move the playoffs back a week and all that other stuff? And what happens if it's during the playoffs where half the team gets it? >> Which is why I say they would extend it to a week 18. >> Yeah. But if it matters, but here but here's the thing. If it matters to the playoffs, it extends to a week 18 and everything gets pushed back a week.
If it is not mattering to the playoffs, it becomes a coin flip uh situation for the draft. >> They have already planned that out. They've already thought about it. All right, let's talk about week three as we get prepared for week four. Last week, my beloved Dolphins win on Thursday night in the Cure for Insomnia Bowl 31-13. Last Sunday, the Chicago Bears over the Atlanta Falcons by four. Buffalo beats my defense in the Rams by three points. Cleveland O beats the Washington football team in the battle of two teams without names by two touchdowns.
Well, because the Browns, it's just the Browns. Don't have a name. >> Yeah, but still. Tennessee over Minnesota by a point. New England beats up on Vegas by 16. San Francisco. Oh, dear God. Alex. Alex's New York football Giants shown the door in their own house. 36 to get that about 14 more times. I'm good >> cuz you know what? We're officially on the tank for Trevor train. >> Oh, good lord. Uh we have our first tie of the year as Philadelphia wimps out on going for the win and ends up with the tie with Cincinnati.
Don, your Steelers beat the Texans by a touchdown. So you got that going, which is nice. >> Recovering. >> Yeah, you're welcome. >> The Colts all over the Jets. Choke, choke, choke by almost 30. Carolina beats the Ches by five. My beloved Buccaneers all over the Broncos. >> Thank you for covering. >> You're welcome. I I'll send them a nice bouquet. Detroit beats Arizona by three. Seattle beats Dallas by seven in their in their house. Green Bay, a Aon Rogers, who almost gets me the win this week. So close, but they still wins by a touchdown.
>> And who did you lose to? >> I I lost to Shawn and what probably will be the tightest margin that anybody's lost to her this year. So you could all go pound sand because when when Shawn texts me and says I was really thinking we were just going for whoever had the lower score, >> she knew how how well contested my fantasy team was against hers by only losing by four points this week in a heartbreaker on Monday night even though Kansas City beats Baltimore by two touchdowns. Let's go to this week.
It is week four. We are almost a quarter of the way through the NFL season. That's not the the scoreboard that I want. So, let me go back there real quick because my browser does not like me today. All right. >> Are you trying to get to this week? >> Huh? >> Are you trying to get to this week? >> Yeah, I'm almost there. It's just I'm using the flow computer to do it because I'm in my studio and so I don't have multiple screens to work with with my laptop. >> Oh, I'm What I'm trying to do is I'm trying to get the exact uh Yes, I lost by.5 last week.
>> Oh, that's a tough >> half of a point. >> But you weren't playing Sean. So, >> Thursday night playing an undefeated team. >> That's true. The Jets uh they they lose again. Oh, did you see the report on what happened after that game though? >> I the the the handshake. >> Yes. >> Apparently they have talked but apparently Adam Gase missed the handshake with Vic Fangio. >> No, no, no, that is not true. >> Okay. >> Vic Fangio basically gave the entire Jets team the finger, told his team to leave the field and ran off >> because they won.
>> Yeah, they had six personal foul. Okay, so little backtracking. The Broncos wound up having to play a third string quarterback because uh their starter Drew Lock is already hurt from earlier in the year. Uh shoulder sprain. Jeff Driscoll was a bit banged up. So they wound up having to play Brett Ripen, nephew of Mark Ripen the day before his 58th birthday. Uh, and they were taking late shots at the the undrafted rookie or the undrafted uh Brett Ripen and there was a lot of personal fouls and the Jets were very very dirty.
>> Stay classy Jets. >> So Vic Fangio was like, "No, you know what? Two things. It's a pandemic and they're I can't repeat the word." Um, and he just was like, "Nope, everybody off the field." And the funny part is is the reporters were like, "Was there concern over the pandemic or whatever?" And he goes, "Nah, f them." >> Well, if you will allow me to, Alex, >> let's take a song we like to sing with a different one of your teams and modify it for this particular team because they're in my division.
>> Meet the Jets. Greet the Jets. Come on out and beat the Jets. And I'm good with it. >> Cut to next week where John butchers it. >> Well, remember the random fact I sent you the other day? The last time that the Jets were in a Super Bowl, Pablo Picasso was still alive and still would be for another four years. >> I still like mine, but it's a little bit more personal, >> right? But that's for your old man. >> Yeah. >> Tomorrow's game starting at noon central time on CVS, we have Jacksonville at Cincinnati.
Cincinnati giving two and a half. So, they would have to win by a field goal at home. Alex, >> wait. Giving or give in? Because last time I checked it was Jaguars minus three. It's minus two and a half. So, they're giving two and a half points. That's what I said. >> Okay. Okay. I wanted I wanted to clarify that the Bengals field goal. >> The Bengals are the underdog though. Correct. >> No, they're the favorites. >> Oh, okay. Oh, >> sin minus 2.5. That's what that means. Correct. >> Yes, it does.
You're correct. Uh I still think the Bengals are going to take it. I like Joe Burrow. That defense has been playing way better than it's expected to. So, I would take Cincinnati. Cleveland will be at Dallas tomorrow. Dallas giving four and a half. Over under 55 and a half. >> Uh Dallas and the over. Dallas may hit that over by themselves. >> Yeah, Cleveland's not that great. That kind of surprises me that that's not a bigger spread there. Uh New Orleans is giving three on the road to Detroit. >> That's a tough one because there's a lot of players out for New Orleans, but Detroit isn't great.
They beat a good team in Arizona. So, I would probably I would pass on this, but I would lean Detroit. >> In the battle of myself and one of my closest friends and a battle that she has within herself tomorrow, friend of the show, Heather Fogelman's beloved Seattle Seahawks will come to Miami Springs, Florida to play the Dolphins. Seattle is giving five on the road. >> Seattle and they may hit the over by themselves. >> Overunders 54 and a half there. the Chargers. >> And I expect at least four touchdowns from Russell Wilson.
Not an exaggeration. >> Fair enough. Tampa Bay giving seven at home to the Chargers. Overunders 42 and a half seems a little low for me. >> I I expect it to be low, but part of that is also a a knee-jerk reaction. I bet that this opened much higher, but with the news that Godwin was out and the fact that you still have a rookie quarterback with the Chargers, uh that this is a hard wash for me because at a touchdown, I expect Tampa Bay to win by that margin. If the number fluctuated, I would try to hit a middle on the seven.
Uh to clarify, if it went to seven and a half, I'd bet Chargers. If it went to six and a half, I'd bet Tampa Bay, hoping to bet a ton on both sides and have it land perfectly on seven. Um but that over I want to say it seems low, but both of these teams are best on defense at this point. So that's also another push, but I expect it to be slightly over. >> Also at noon, football team hosts the Ravens. Football team getting two touchdowns at home here, >> which technically translates to two touchdowns and a field goal.
Th >> This is one I would get cute with. I would look for like a teaser number where they would give me like three to one and bet on the bet on the Ravens like minus 20. All right, let's keep it moving. Still at at in the early games, Arizona giving three to Carolina and Arizona's on the road. Arizona all day. The only thing working against Arizona right now is the fact that they are a quote west team traveling to the east coast. But that Cardinals team is going to look to make a statement after losing to Detroit, who they should have beat by a touchdown or two.
Uh the over is interesting at 52 because I do have a very high opinion of Matt Rule and his offense for Carolina plus Teddy Bridgewwater. Always been a a fan of his. Uh or Teddy two gloves as I've been hearing lately. Um the only thing that could hold this back is if DeAndre Hopkins, who is dealing with an injury, is held out for Arizona. But if DeAndre Hopkins is good to go, hammer the over. >> Let's see. Where are we? Houston. Houston. Houston giving three and a half to Minnesota at NRG Stadium.
This is going to be a horrible game. >> Yeah, this is this game to me is a comedy of errors. >> Yeah, th this is a hard pass. I couldn't I wouldn't be surprised if it gets decided by three points or 30. Um there's no read on this. Let's get into the late games. And we're starting off with your beloved New York Giants going cross country >> in the over >> to play the Rams. The Rams are giving them 13 and a half. >> Give them 30. I think I'd still take the Rams. >> Good lord. Colts will be at Soldier Field.
Indies giving two to an undefeated Chicago team. Well, Chicago is easily the worst undefeated team at this point, but I do like Chicago. I like Nick Fos. Um, the hardest part about this is if they're going to be still feeling the effects of Tariq Cohen being out for the season with a torn ACL. I'd still I I will neither confirm nor deny that I am going to be pulling for the Bears in this one because I got it at three and a half. >> New England going to Arrowhead. Maybe >> eventually >> no line because of what's happened this morning on this yet.
>> Buffalo you want to cover the other thing on there. I can actually tell you I am also pulling for that game to happen because >> Oh, am I got two people on fantasy that game? >> Well, let give me a moment. I will be with you in a second because the line I saw was Chiefs minus 7 which is also the largest margin that a Bill Bichc team has been an underdog in I want to say 16 years. >> I want to say yeah that's got to be forever ago. >> Well, no I think I think it's literally 16 years that it's been since they he was a touchdown or more underdog.
And I will neither confirm nor deny that I did take the Chiefs. Uh, let's go to another stadium that calls itself the Death Star, which it is not. The Las Vegas, I'm sorry, the autumn wind is a ra. They are hosting the undefeated Buffalo Bills. Buffalo only giving a field goal in this. >> Is this Las Vegas undefeated, too? >> No, they're two and one, Don. >> They're two and one now. Okay. All right. So, the franchise finally lost their first game. Yep, >> that is technically correct. Um, but you got to give Las Vegas credit.
They did win their home opener. So, Derek Carr did get to sign the wall when Drew Brees was expecting to. Uh, I still think it's Buffalo. I still think, and for the record, if you Google Death Star and NFL stadium, there's only one stadium that comes up, and it is Las Vegas. So everybody in the Dallas Metroplex can go pound sand. >> Or they can refer to it by its proper name, the Dumba. >> We call it >> the Dooma. >> Mhm. Cuz it's like a Roomba. But there is doom inside. >> For who? >> Uh Philadelphia getting a touchdown on the road at Levi Stadium with the San Francisco 49ers.
>> I would take the Eagles. I don't expect them to win, but I would take the Eagles because touchdown's a big number, especially when the 49ers are probably still playing a backup. Uh they did play well, but that defense has to figure out what it's doing without Bosa and Solomon Thomas. Atlanta on the road in the frozen tundra of Lambo as they play Green Bay and a Aon Rogers. Green Bay is giving them a touchdown and the Falcons are finding new and interesting ways to lose. I mean, you were handing Chicago their butts and they swapped over to Nick Fos and you gave up, I want to say, 20 straight points to lose that game.
Aaron Ro, like I I almost want to make the gif of, "Oh, we're only getting a touchdown." Laughs in Aaron Rodgers. Hammer the over. >> And that is your That is your Monday. I'm sorry. >> That is your Monday night game. >> Right. I I think the Packers cover, but I would this one I would hammer the over with just about every dime I have because you have Green Bay who I want to say is averaging 42 points a game this in the first three weeks and you have the Falcons who are averaging 34 or 35 and haven't won a game.
>> One moment, please. >> This is terrible. >> We have breaking news. Brian Hoyer is your expected quarterback starter for the Patriots against the Chiefs this week. >> Yeah, >> this has been breaking news. >> Did you really think it would be Jared Stumm? >> This when we break news, we break news. We don't speculate. We report the news unless I ask for opinions. >> Well, that you just reported speculation expected starter, >> but that comes from NFL. That's not us speculating. That's the NFL speculating.
That's different. >> We'll speculate other people speculating. >> That's right. I will speculate a speculation from other people who speculate things. >> I cannot wait. Uh shout out friend of the show and also league mate Kristen. We will be watching Monday Night Football at Buffalo Wild Wings this week. So I'm looking forward to it. >> Why? Because it's the neutral ground. >> Are you going to eat there? >> Yeah. I don't think that's the button you were looking for. >> It's as close as it's going to get.
>> Yeah, I figured it out. >> Actually, no. Actually, I got a better one for you if you want. >> I think I know which one it is. >> Nope, that's not the one I was expecting either. >> That's closer, but I was expecting the whammy. >> Sucks. >> Whammy. >> Yeah. >> Oh, that's the fail boarding. That's not the whammy. >> No, you're the only one that gets to play with the board. You >> That's when the price is right. That's whammy is not That's not the whammy noise. >> Yeah, well, I'm under the age of 40, so I can't tell you the difference.
>> No, Whammy is coming back. Sorry. You >> It already is back posted by the great Elizabeth Banks. >> Yeah, >> I reiterate, I'm over the age of 40. Don't watch Game Show Network. I do not care. >> It's not on Game Show Network. It's on ABC. >> Yeah, national networks. >> Uh, >> hold on. Hold on. Let me let me look for my Fs to give. You can borrow some from one of my high school report cards if you like. >> Hold on. Hold. I'm still looking. >> I thought that was a great joke. Thank you very much.
>> That was a great joke that I just told that you stepped all over, sir. >> I didn't hear it. >> I said you can borrow. >> Wait a minute. I got to look for the FS. >> Okay, you know what? We'll just move on. I'm trying to bail him out of this bit. He just wants to keep stepping all over it. We'll just move on. >> I'll bring him some on Monday. >> Good lord. doesn't bother you guys when you dogpile me. >> Awkward silence. >> No, I forgot to click the right screen. That's why there's an awkward time.
>> I'm actually going to make sure and share that joke with my sister and my mother later because I liked it. >> Thank you. >> I'll I'll need to I'll need to hear it later. >> I said you can borrow some Fs from one of my high school report cards. >> Oh, that is decent. >> Thank you. Oh, by the way, we also have another break. I I'm not breaking news, but a breaking story from friend of the show, Russ. Apparently, at the TCU versus Texas game, there is a cardboard cutout of locker if you did. >> Is that game in Austin?
>> I would assume because he said TCU versus Texas. I'm pretty sure. >> That's a fair point. >> That's what Russ texted me. So, I don't know if that was >> Matthew Matthew McConna. Is that the other one? Okay. >> To sneak into that stadium and then just sit with his cardboard. I don't know if you're going to be talking about your horrible beef what's for dinner Sam Elliott thing. Also, >> my Sam Elliott is dead on, sir. >> It is not. >> My My Sam Elliot is closer than any impersonation you have ever done in 10 and a half years of >> Oh, Lord.
>> Don has tried an impersonation. >> Don can only in different Don can only be Don in different formats. >> Exactly. >> That's not a positive, sir. All right, let's get on into Major League Baseball. Here's what we've got going on. As we are now officially in the divisional series, we had to do this wheels off wildcard thing. The Dodgers will make it in. >> The Dodgers will be playing the San Diego Padres's. Uh, Tampa Bay will be playing the Yankees in a series where Tampa Bay is the one seed and the Yankees are the five seed because 2020, Oakland will be taking on Houston, Houston, Houston.
And in probably the best series of them all because I win either way, the Marlins will be taking on my Atlanta Braves. Now, now either way, I have a chance to watch one of my teams play in the playoffs because once we get to the NLCS before we get to that great news, I I want to touch on something real quick with the results of our wild cards because I want to I want to save that. That's a more important story and I don't want to I don't want to step all over it. Did you notice what has happened with all of our division series matchups?
>> I have not. >> They are all rivalries. They are all division rivalries. I >> Interesting. Yeah, that's that's a fair point. I had noticed that. >> I I am so excited for this because it's going to mean that there is the the care. I mean, LA and San Diego have had their deals um over the over this past season, and a great rivalry is brewing. Sorry, Milwaukee. Uh between them, the Rays and the Yankees have had their vitriol. The A's and >> But you don't have to apologize to Milwaukee because no one's ever put anything with Milwaukee in playoffs in the same sentence.
So, they don't even know what it feels like anyway. So, you're good. >> Not since they joined the NL. Well, no. No. They had that run with Sebastia uh god a decade ago. Anyways, um but then you have the Marlins and the Braves and that storied history plus the factoid that baseball dropped my jaw with yesterday. >> Besides the fact that this is the first time Miami's been in a playoff in 19 years. >> Besides that, how many times have the Marlins Florida or Miami lost a playoff series? Well, since either either the Marlins or the Braves lost a playoff series.
>> No, no, no. The Marlins themselves, whether they were the Florida Marlins or the Miami Marlins. >> Oh, they've never lost a playoff series. >> Exactly. >> You can count the number of times they've been to the playoffs on one hand. >> Exactly. You know, well, well, like Milwaukee, you were saying the AL East division in 82 and the NL Central division in 2011 and 18. >> Yeah. 2011 and 2000 or 2011 was the Sabbathia year I was referring. Yeah. >> Only two of those three have Alex been alive for also.
And then the other one was 8 when they won the pendant in 82 >> which was the year before Alex was born >> which was the >> Robin and they got the wild card buffs in 2008 and 2019. >> Okay. Yeah. But uh moving along though I was shocked when I saw that the Marlins had were seven and0 in playoff series. I was like I knew they had two World Series wins but I could have sworn there was like a wild card they lost in there somewhere. >> We've got we've got quality over quantity in my >> That is very true.
I would take that quality right now as a Mets fan, especially with the news >> fair point. >> Especially with the news of Sandy Alderson being brought back as the team president. >> Before we move on to the pop culture half of our show, we do want to help make an announcement. Get ready. 2022, that is the return of the XFL. >> What? >> Wait, wait, before we get off that. The NLCS and the World Series news. >> Oh, yes. We'll get back to that in a minute. But I want to say XFL, it's coming. Get ready.
I already got my hat. I'm good to go. So, NLCS and the World Series, they are happening in our town. As we talked about on the show two weeks ago, they will be played at Globe Life Field. So, I have the chance to at least see one of my teams in Arlington this year when I thought I wasn't going to be able to see either of them, even though I was supposed to go the night before my birthday. And friend of the show, Rachel Wimberly, has said she is going to do everything in her power to make it happen.
So, if my Braves go, if my Marlins go, I'm going to get the chance to see one of my teams play this year in the playoffs, which is nuts because I've never been able to go to the playoffs. But, as I pointed out to Alex the other night, 2,000 stars lose the Stanley Cup. 2010 Rangers lose the World Series. 2020 stars lose the Stanley Cup. So, put your bets in now. Rangers win the the American League in >> and then bet on whoever the National League team is with a lot. >> Yep. Bet your mortgage on the other team.
>> Now, here's where the real fun comes in with this. You will likely be representing the show at the NLCS. Correct. >> If if the tickets can be acquired and I am able to do so because my schedule's a little wacky right now. Based on some inside information, we may be represented at the World Series as well. >> We will be there one way or another. >> Exactly. >> And we will neither confirm nor deny that Facebook Live will happen as long as there's bandwidth >> in the big TNT stadium. Why does my service suck there?
>> Because everything sucks there. >> Except when the Dolphins come to town on Thanksgiving Day in the old stadium and Ricky Williams runs all over you. 40 to 21. Uh, let's get into TV talk. Supermarket sweep is coming back. What's with all the game show talk this week, but did you >> It's the easiest thing for them to book. >> Well, did you see who's hosting it? >> Yes, I did. >> The great SNL now alumni Leslie Jones is going to be hosting Supermarket Sweep. Never really liked the show. I would watch it if she was hosting it because I love her.
Oh, they've been doing great with some of the commercials and just people wiping out going around corners. Uh Disney Plus has launched group watch. This is a very interesting way they're doing this. You can get into a a room with up to seven other people watching the same movie, but there's not going to be a chat feature. You do that outside of it so that it doesn't interfere with what you're watching. Alex, >> but there is a reaction. You can pop emojis. the I was actually speaking with a friend of the show, Jess Gomez.
>> Yeah, what we were curious about was do you need everyone to have an account? Like >> I would assume so. >> I would assume so as well, but I could also see the argument of you have so many watches with guests, so to speak, >> to try and like, hey, this is what you could get. So, I could see it going either direction. >> Yeah, but don't you automatically get a 7-day free trial anyway? That might be the gist of it, >> right? But what I'm saying is that would get you the 7-day trial because otherwise you'd have people like, "Hey man, put me in your group watch because everyone watches." >> But I'm but I'm surprised they haven't come out and said that it's like, "Hey, all you need to do is sign up for a free trial and you're eligible." Something like that.
>> I know people watch this show. So Disney, his name is Alex Barnhill. We can help put you in contact if you're going to use his marketing idea because it's brilliant. >> Speaking of, >> in fact, I will go blanket. Disney, you can use it. just put my name on it. >> Speaking of Disney, we we do want to send our best and deepest out to the 28,000 people that Disney has laid off this week, twothirds of which were part- timerrs. Uh there have been some pretty big names, if you know anything about the world of Disney and their business.
Uh if you've ever been to Disney World and or Disneyland, there have been some pretty big names of people that have been there a long time that have lost their jobs because of all the madness that is this year. So, we want to send our best and brightest out to those. Uh something that's local to Alex and I, the Disney Store at the Coral Square Mall is officially closed, which was our mall. Uh that that mall opened when I was in middle school. And the >> which mall again? >> It's called the Coral Square Mall in Coral Springs, Florida.
>> Um >> Okay. I spent an excessive amount of time in that building. Y >> I mean, I I worked at the one in Colin Creek Mall when Colin Creek Mall existed when I was in college. >> So I'm a former I'm a former cast member. >> Yeah. friend of the show, Phil's sister, Debbie, worked at the one in Crawl Square for a very, very long time. So, man, let's just get through this thing. Uh, let's see. We also have Ms. Marvel, has been cast for that series on Disney Plus. She is a newcomer by the name of Iman Vani, and she does, very strong resemblance to Ms.
Marvel, who is the first uh Muslimbased superhero in the Marvel universe. So, I'm excited. I like the character. She's actually the main character in the brand new Avengers game that I'm hearing amazing things about. So, we're gonna see how that all goes. >> And there was a really cool note on that one where people were saying like, "Who is this? We don't know." And Mark Ruffalo is the one who came out and said, "You have no idea how talented this girl is. She is perfect." >> Mark Ruffalo is my hulker.
>> Uh HBO has now ordered a new weekly late night talk show from comedian Sam Jay. So, they're they're kind of starting to beef up on their late night talk shows a little bit. Uh, great episode again of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver this week. Being renewed for three more seasons, by the way, so he's going to be there for a while. Probably one of my favorite shows on television right now. Uh, Robert Zmechus' latest film, The Witches, is actually going to skip a theatrical release and go straight to HBO Max.
And a very bold move in my opinion. >> I am not familiar. I'd have to look into this if >> uh NBC says Peacock will debut their Save by the Bell reboot next month. I have seen the trailer. I am not enthused. >> We don't need it. >> I'm not enthused by any of it. >> Uh Chris Maloney's SNL spin-off has been delayed after the showrunner has walked away. >> Uh timeout, not SNL. SVU. >> I mean SVU. SNL is the next headline. I got them confused. You're right. >> No, no. I was just confirming. >> Right.
So, they may still have him in the season premiere, but it's been delayed probably until the spring where he's going to be heading up the uh organized crime unit for the NYPD. >> And I am now intrigued. >> Yeah, I I'm very I'm a big Chris Maloney fan. Not a fan of all his politics, but I am a fan of him as an actor because it's okay to have that. >> Yeah. >> You don't have to agree with everything somebody says or does to appreciate and respect them. Speaking of SNL season premiere is tonight, so hold on to your butts.
>> Are they doing that in studio? >> Yep. And there will be an audience. Chris Rock is your host. So get ready. Put your seat belts on cuz here we go. As we talked about on our last episode, uh Joe Biden will not be played by Jason Sudakis. It will be Jim Carrey. >> Oh, Jim Car's doing it. >> And they they have revealed a look at it. And if you remember Fire Marshall Bill, it's not far off. >> Uh, next week, Alex, you will be very intrigued. Next week, musical guest is a Morgan Wallen, but one of your favorite comedians will be hosting next week.
And one of my favorite comedians, Bill Burr, is your host for SNL next week. And then >> beyond that, though, >> do what? >> He's a fantastic actor beyond just >> he's and he's very funny. Big fan. Uh, and then the week after that, Issa Ray is your host and the Bieber will be your your musical guest. >> So, I got a question for you. Yeah. >> And you know, because if you're Lauren Michaels and what happened with the president getting the virus yesterday, >> do you put Baldwin on and do anything Trump or you hold off a week until the CO things kind of died down?
>> Let me answer your question with a question, Don. Yeah. >> When has SNL ever held anything back in 45 years? >> You never know because there been some Yeah, >> there's no way. There's no way. Lord has never pulled punches. He's not about to start now. >> I I I I agree with both points. It's a great question by Don. >> I agree. It is a great question. >> It is a It is a great question, >> but yeah, they don't care. They don't care >> with Chris Rock as your host tonight. There's no way >> with the other material they have from things that happened this week.
Do they want to over sell that or over >> Well, what what I'm really most looking forward to honestly because they just resigned Kate McKinnon, I'm looking forward to how they do their RBG tribute because she played RVG on that show forever. >> Oh yeah. >> Yeah. And so I'm very much looking forward to I think it's going to be very downplayed because that's what she's done with other characters that have passed that she's played. Uh but I'm very much looking forward to what they do for her tomorrow night.
>> Yeah. And I'm >> I'm sorry. Tonight. What am I thinking tonight? >> Yeah, it'll it'll be I'm hoping it'll be of course a tasteful versus a maybe more on the real side rather than the comedy side >> just because RBG what else? And maybe it's because I'm female and maybe it's because of how much I've seen my life as better than what my grandmother would have had or just because of what she's done. Um I'm just hoping for some tasteful honoring of RBG. >> And your and your uh musical guest tonight, as Alex has corrected me on it, is Megan the Stallion.
For years, I've said Megan 3 Stallion because there's two E's and I guess my eyes just saw an R in there. >> You're trying to make it a real word, >> right? You know what? That's also fair. Uh, so news for Jen Ro and for Alex from Miramax TV this week. They are developing a series based on a movie both of you enjoyed very much called The Gentleman. >> Oh, >> there will be a series on Miramax TV, which I didn't know was a thing. >> I didn't realize it was Mirramax TV. I know. I heard words about it.
Guy Richie is involved, so he is still doing it. And like I I love that movie. >> Don, have you seen >> The gentleman? I have not seen it yet. It's on my list. I just haven't seen it yet. >> Which one? >> Called The Gentleman with McConna. It's Guy Richie. >> No, I haven't seen that. No, not yet. >> But both Jen Ro and Alice enjoyed that film very, very much. >> Let me try this. Uh, for both Rob and Don, I apologize, Jen. I'm not trying to exclude you, but you've seen the movie. Um, did you like the early Guy Richie works?
Like the two Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, that kind of >> Rock and Roller. >> Rock and Rollola. Yes. Uh, I was more so thinking about the early too just based on being >> But didn't he do the Sherlock Holmes films too? >> Yes, he did. >> But that's trying to focus on the earlier films, >> right? But I just want to give Don a complete picture of Guy Richie so he understands the style, >> right? I I was just talking about those two. Did we lose Don? >> And he just walked away. >> Okay.
So Rob, >> I enjoy Guy Richie very much. >> Okay. more specifically locktock and two smoking barrels and >> I love locktock. >> Okay, think about if lockstock and two smoking barrels had a big budget. >> Okay, >> with the intelligence and everything that goes along with it. That is basically what Gentleman is. >> I I don't know that there's a Guy Richie film that I've seen that I didn't at least enjoy. I wouldn't say they're all in my upper echelon of films, but every film of his that I've seen, I loved what he did with with the the Sherlock Holmes films.
>> Oh, yeah. I actually like what he did with Aladdin. I mean, >> okay, so I haven't seen Aladdin, so I can't judge and I refuse to, >> but I I am a I actually give you Don's back now after after walking away in the middle of being asked a question that made >> Sorry, what's the question? Sorry about that. >> Okay, so are you familiar with Guy Richie's work? >> Guy Richie? I know the name. >> Lockstock, Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, the Sherlock Holmes films. >> Yeah, Sherlock Holmes. I know those.
Yeah, >> this is the guy that did the gentleman. >> Okay. >> Same guy. same style. >> Okay. All right. And it it is the very very dark but com comical the way Locktock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch was. >> I feel like Rock and Rollola could be the most underrated film he's done in my opinion. >> I agree. But I but the HSO I was getting to before Don came back >> Guy Richie is my favorite director unquestioned. >> I mean granted I have an Idris Elba bias which is why I love rock and roll so much but still.
>> That's also true. >> And it does have of course that British flare that And there was plenty of eye candy. So, you know, I I was all over that movie. >> And we have him to thank for Jason Stathithm. >> True. >> Jason was just a Olympic >> alternate who was friends with Guy Richie before locking smoking barrels. >> Uh I thought Oh, it was Vinnie Jones that was a soccer player. >> Correct. Okay. >> Yeah. Uh Jason Staithm was a diver on the British OLYMPIC TEAM. >> WHO A DIVER? >> That's my Ronnie James deal.
I think it's pretty good. >> No, it's not. I don't know. It was in the >> No, it's not. No, it's not. >> The rich little of his generation checking in with my impersonations. >> There's a reason I don't even try and do them because >> Wait a minute. Hold on a second. The rich little of his generation and then Don starts doing Brother Love. I am so confused. So Netflix has announced Cobra Kai season 3 coming in January and that season 4 will be coming afterwards. So you're getting a lot more Cobra Kai.
I have still only watched one episode. Although I enjoyed it, I have stuff to do. >> We have an exact date. >> Okay. >> It is January 8th >> because right now I'm focused on October 30th. Honestly, >> early birthday gift >> because >> All right. So, I will say this, me and the Fantastic Fate 4 did binge the the two seasons over about a two-day period. I will say the season one was really good. Season two got a little and especially Yeah, I would say dark just like, you know, the plot wasn't that great and some very unrealism beyond belief.
I >> I feel like season two is trying to set up some darkness for season 3, season 4. >> Um I enjoyed both. >> I I I I so I thought it was great, but I didn't I didn't think season two was as good and kind of weirded off in a bad way, but still I still liked it. And I really like season one. Go ahead, Jen. I'm sorry. >> I was going to say season one focused on the adults. Season two kind of focused on the drama of their offspring and there were some people that didn't quite like that it went that dark that realistic with kids involved and so that's been some of the feedback I've heard.
>> I just want to know in season two did we get a version of Glory of Love because if we didn't then I'm out. >> Uh >> no we got Cruel Summer. >> We got multiple versions >> but Cruel Summer would have been in season one because it was in the first film. That's what I'm saying. Glory of Love was Karate Kid 2. uh and only when they're writing to apply movies to seasons and this is still just Kobra Kai. Remember number two or uh Karate Kid part two was in Okinawa. We have not gone there yet. >> Yeah.
>> So we are still continuing the seasons of season one or I of part one. >> And shout out to SVU for Karate Kid 2 because we have a crossover actor. >> Who is it? >> Um the the um and now his name just left me. the therapist, the the Asian therapist. He's handing out Wong. >> Yes, he's BD Wong is handing out the flyers about the 50s party that they go to. >> Very nice. I like BD a lot. I'm a big fan. >> So, there's a little SVU crossover thing. >> I will say this, I did find out that one of the Cobra Kai from the even both the movie and the series, he passed away.
He actually died. The one who was sick in real life, he actually died in real life. Yeah. The one >> Yeah. So, Well, I mean, the guy died in real life, but we talk about it in memorials and stuff. I mean, let's let's No, no. I >> Netflix with a brand new Christmas movie this year called Christmas on the Square, starring Christine Baransky as a woman trying to Scrooge an entire town. Will also star and be produced by a lady who will never quit. She will never not work. And I'm okay with it because her name is Dolly Pardon.
I guess that is >> I love her. Like I every year I'm like I could not love this woman more and then she does something that makes me. She is >> This is like her first album in 30 years. Literally this Christmas. >> There are shows that I listen to that say she is the greatest guest that they've ever had. >> And her birthday is January 19th. >> Honestly, I had no care when you were talking about this movie and then you said Dolly Parton and I'm in. That's the reason I structured the story the way I did.
You got to think of one. You got to lead up to it. Skinner, don't start the show with Freeird. >> That's all I'm saying. >> And I've been binging her series that she did, the heart. See, now I can't even remember. But she took the >> Dixie or >> No, no, no. Heartbreakers or heartbeats or something. She took her songs and made little mini movies about >> Oh, nice. >> the stories behind the songs. Definitely aimed at a female audience. Uh, definitely needs some tissue, but it's it's been enjoyable.
>> We have the first images on the web now of Jillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher for season four of The Crown. >> Oh, I forgot to say correction. It's uh this is Dolly's new album coming up. The Dollywood Christmas is her first Christmas album in 30 years. >> There you go. I was gonna say he's done stuff. >> Yeah, it was for Christmas in 1990 was confirm it is Heartstrings. There you go. is the show. >> Uh Netflix developing Conan the Barbarian as a series. So, we're going to see that sometime soon.
>> If you couldn't make it work with Jason Mamoa, what hope do you have for a TV show >> because Netflix? >> That's also fair. Netflix would go for it. >> General, do I remember correctly that you are at least a casual fan of the films of Alfred Hitchcock? >> Um, I'm just getting to them. I've always had an interest in watching them and I'm just and I bought a series of them. Um I know history behind a lot of them. I know the storyline of a lot of them, but I've only seen like two or three of the films themselves.
So, I'm becoming a fan of getting to enjoy them >> because one of his films Netflix is actually remade and they're getting ready to release. They remade Rebecca >> with Army Hammer and Lily James. I'm very intrigued by this. This is a very dark film that deals with some very serious subject matter. So if you can't handle that, you might want to look it up. I'm not the royal you, not just you. The royal you. You may want to look it up before you watch it because this is one of and for me to say this is one of his darker films.
It's kind of a weird thing to say, but Rebecca deals with some very, very, very delicate subject matter. Uh, and Ryan Murphy, the guy behind American Horror Story, has been green lit to do a limited series with Richard Jenkins called Monster, the Jeffrey Gmer Story. Because, haven't we had like three of these in the last year? >> Something like that. Close to it. >> TV on DVD and Blu-ray this week. Season one of Peicard will be available for you on Tuesday, as well as season four of The Last Kingdom and season 7 of When Calls the Heart.
So, I'm sure that uh Rachel Wimberly will be at her her local Blu-ray or DVD place purchasing that on Tuesday. She's on a Kalachi tour right now. I don't know what's going on there. >> She has so much fun with life and it's it's nice to get to be a part of the audience of the Rachel Wimberly show. >> I love my Rachel. Uh a couple of music losses this week. Uh Mac Davis passed away this week as well as the great Helen Ready. Uh so much can be said about both of them. We're not really going to go too deep because there's been some much better tributes out there than we can do on this show, but we wanted to recognize, you know, when we lose legends in this world as we have lost so many in the last few.
Uh Helen Ready was a pioneer for women in song, especially in the 70s. She she wrote and performed the uh the national feminism anthem, for lack of a better term, with I am Woman. Also, Delta Dawn was a huge hit for her as well. and uh M. Davis, one of the smooth voices, especially of country in the 70s. So, we want to recognize both of them. On the other end of that spectrum, because we want to celebrate life as well and didn't even know that this was even a thing, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Beal have welcomed their second son into the world this week.
Didn't even know she was she was preparing for birth. >> Well, to be fair, they are very private people. So, >> they really are. >> Yeah. And I kind of respect that. It's not the look at us, look at what we can do. >> And if you have Apple TV, you are going to be getting a documentary on the Billy Isish coming up. And we're going to talk about her just a little bit later in the show. Music new releases this week because there really wasn't much to talk about in music talk. The Brothers Osborne, not Aussies, uh, releasing a new movie, a new movie, a new album called Skeletons on Friday.
Dizzy Rascal, who wants to tell you what the name of his album, he is. E3 AF. Yep. That's it for me on that. And Travis with a new album this week called 10 Songs. >> Travis is one of those bands that's just always there. You just don't remember. >> Let's go on to movies. We are getting a documentary on the life of Ray Parker Jr. acquired by Sony Pictures, oddly enough, called Oddly enough, who you going to call? >> Well, what else would they call it? I mean, with all due respect, I need to ask the musical experts that have far more knowledge than I do.
>> Uhhuh. >> What did he have besides that? >> Uh, he had another big hit called The Other Woman. >> That was a big hit by, but he was also in a group before the Ghostbusters theme that was called Radio, R A Y Dio, and they had a string of hits as well. I would reference you to uh TV1 and his episode of Unsung. you will you will realize that he's done a lot more than you think. >> Well, that's why I'm asking. >> Oh, yes. No, that's what I'm saying. I would reference you to that before this comes out because that Unsung did a very very good episode on him.
>> What are you going to call it? Stuck in my head. >> Yeah. Uh Zenia is in and talks to Star in a biopic about Ronnie Spectre. And if you don't know who Ronnie Spectre is, I reference you to the Eddie Money hit, Take Me Home Tonight where he says, "Listen to what Ronnie says." And then she sings Be My Baby. That's Ronnie Spectre because she also sang the song Be My Baby back in the day. So great vocalist. I'll be looking forward to that. >> And I've been very impressed with Zenia. So that's probably great casting.
>> We have a title for the Borat sequel. >> Uhhuh. I was wondering if you were just going to play the trailer to blow Don's wheels off. It is called subsequent sequel. It will hit later this month on Amazon Prime. >> Oh no, that's one. It's only on Amazon. That sucks. >> I'm happily I need to remind myself not to watch that. >> Yeah, I didn't watch the first one. You're not watching this one. >> No, I have no Hey, Rob. Rob, do you have Amazon? >> I do. >> Can I use your login and stuff when it comes out just to watch this one movie?
>> No. >> No. No. uh let alone it's not legal to do that. So >> what I'm saying is I don't want that in my search history. You don't want to skew the recommended for you to >> I'm going to log on to Amazon and go what is GOING ON RIGHT NOW? I MEAN, I have it bad enough with my roommate because we of course share the Ruku, you know, it's one house, it's allowed, and all of his uh alien type invasion stuff that's now been hitting my feeds because he won't use his own profile. >> We are getting a Lion King prequel.
I'm intrigued by this >> animated or uh live action. Live action. How can you have a prequel to a William Shakespeare because stranger things have happened. >> Uh let's see. Billy Crudeup is in talks again to play uh Barry Allen's father in the Flash movie. I am good with any excuse to have Billy Crude up on my screen because he's amazing. >> Absolutely. >> I reference Almost Famous Alone. Jamie Fox's Electro will be returning for the next Spider-Man film, but he will not be character. >> He will not know he is coming back to play Electro.
that I said he will not be the Luke. >> Okay. >> Is he going to have the big headdress with all the lightning bolts on it? >> Well, the the two things I've seen on it was Electro coming back, not knowing if it was going to be Jamie Fox, and the other aspect of are we going to get another version of Multiverse where Andrew Garfield comes back as well. >> Well, because Spiderverse worked so well. I just don't I don't want those to cross. I don't >> Oh, I totally understand. But are we going to shoehorn it because Oh, this made money.
>> That's what I'm saying. Uh, No Time To Die is now set for April, which has now pushed Fast 9 back to Memorial Day, which is kind of rough because they announced this week, and I have listened to the first one. There is a six-part podcast series for No Time To Die. Everybody should have that email. I forwarded to you, Don. You should have gotten it from the vendor. I have listened to the first episode. It's really It's just interviews with everybody, including uh the the Broccoli family. >> Oh, really?
Yep, they're interviewed. It's really, really good. It It really talks mostly about No Time To Die, but they do reference the history of Bond Too. It's going to be a six-part series weekly. I don't know if this announcement is going to push the next episode back. Uh, but I enjoyed the first one. It was about 50 minutes long, so it's not it's not as long as this show. Um, but it really is enjoyable. Alex, I will also tell you and you might have a modicum of interest in this. Uh ESPN's 30 for30 has announced a spin-off uh podcast called ESPN Investigates.
They have released their first three-parter this week called Bloodlines, which is about horse racing. >> Interesting. There's a lot of historical data. The guy that narrates it has been working with ESPN on horse racing for years. And I like his name, Let me see if I can uh pull up the name of the guy. Well, it it's interesting and I know this is kind of a weird tangent, but have we talked about what's weird about the Kentucky Derby winner this year as relates to us? >> Uh, mom and dad own part of that horse.
>> Yeah, we did. Actually, we did. >> Okay. >> Um, it doesn't >> and it is currently the favorite for the PNness coming up. >> It doesn't say who the host is, but he's got kind of a this is the kind of accent he's working when he narrates. Hm. >> You think you're going to Belmont, too? >> I do not know what's going to happen with that. >> Oh, I don't know. >> I'm actually looking up to verify when the PNness is this year just based on everything being moved. >> So, if you want to check out that series on No Time to Die, you can go to your favorite podcast app and look up.
Let me get to the actually Oh, there's another episode that just dropped today. Oh, it's just an update though. It's just a one minute update about the release. Uh, but it's called No Time to Die: The Official James Bond podcast. So, that's out there if you can get it. DVD and Blu-ray new releases and places you get DVD and Blu-ray new releases this week. A movie that really is kind of a cult hit called The Tax Collector. It's an action film that they're already working on a sequel to. Oh, I got to look this one up because it was just kind of weird.
Hold on one second here because I saw the who was in it and I saw the the name of it's called the second and of course I'm on the slow computer here so give me just a moment while I look this up >> this is usually the computer I put the music on >> huh >> I think I may be a terrible son I think the pnness is actually today >> is it I they didn't mention it on ESPN at all yesterday >> uh I'm looking for >> and usually cornheiser at least talks about it on PTI, >> right? And but I think everybody's thrown off because there's been so much going on and the fact that it usually happens in May is what's >> the whole triple crown was thrown off, wasn't it?
>> Uh I don't believe the Belmont was moved. Uh that's what I was alluding to when Don asked about it. >> Yeah, because the same prickness is actually seen today. >> Yeah. No, maybe it is. All right. The second has the Ryan Philippy and soontobe Texas resident Casper Vanine. Uh, a green beret is late picking up his son at college. His son and a Supreme Court justice's daughter are the last there. A gang of terrorists are there to abduct her and force her dad's hand on a second amendment vote and action ensues, I guess.
Uh, also a movie that I love the name of it. It is not the Bianca Belair do biography. It's called I Used to Go Here. >> I want to see >> Let me go back by for fact check. The Belmont Stakes actually happened in June. >> Yep. And T is the law one. >> Okay. Sorry about that. >> It's all right. Uh a movie called I Used to Go Here also available on DVD and Blu-ray this week. Jillian Jacobs is in this, as is Jermaine Clement. >> Okay, that's a bonus. >> Uh, following the launch of her new novel, 35-year-old writer Kate is invited to speak at her alma mater by her former professor.
After accepting the invitation, Kate finds herself deeply immened in the ench. >> Let me see who else do we recognize? Anybody else in this? Kate Miuchi is in this former formerly of >> Oats and Garuncle. >> Makuchi. >> Is it Makuchi? >> Yeah. So, if they put Miui, they've misspelled. >> No, no, I just pronounced it wrong. >> Oh, okay. >> That's the only other name I recognize in this. And your Criterion Collection release this week is French film Pierro Leu. Anything that we miss that you guys want to talk about this?
Go ahead. Go ahead, Alex. >> That criterion sounds familiar for some reason. >> I got nothing. anything that we've missed that you guys want to talk about before we wrap this up? Jen Ro is holding something up to the camera. Oh, that's right. Jen Ro did have something that she wanted to talk about. I do apologize. Uh there is a book that she would like to talk about. Jen Rome, we go live to you in Richardson, Texas. >> So, um I have a friend who has over 40 years experience in working in senior health care specializing in dementia type situations.
Um she has a book out now. So, it's available on Amazon. >> Hold it up a little higher so we can see the whole thing. >> There we go. I'm gonna block my face. Um, it's called Did I Remember to Tell You? And this book is aimed at the family caregiver. Um, it's written Pam Pam Johnson is the one who wrote this. And it's written in Pam's voice. So, you're reading it and you feel like a friend is talking to you and sharing knowledge with you. Um, Pam was one of the founders of or she's the founder of Friends Place.
Um, she's sold off the business, but that is a day facility for people with Alzheimer's. So, it's a day facility for them to go and have be mentally stimulated and be taken care of. So, you're not having to leave them at home and you can go to work. Um, but anyway, if you're dealing with someone in your family life that's got some kind of um, dementia situation and you are a caregiver or you go to visit them, highly recommend getting a copy of this or if you know someone in your life, get a copy for them.
Um, it's just it's got some humor and it kind of encourages you to accept the grace of life. So, just wanted to shout that out. It is available on Amazon. Uh, did I remember to tell you by Pam Johnson? >> Check that out. Uh, if Jen Ro recommends it, she reads a lot of books, so she's not going to recommend you something that she doesn't like. So, anything else we want to talk about before we get out of here, guys, and prepare for NXT Takeover 31 tomorrow. >> I think we're good right now. And people do want to log into Impact Plus.
