My name is Rob, I am the executive producer of the clubhouse podcast, and looking forward
to a little rain, keeping the temperatures down low here in the Metroplex, and I have
been a parking in front of my house now.
If you know it, if you know you know if you don't, I'll explain it to you.
Chad's still out on assignment, we'll let you know as soon as we know and he'll be returning
to the show.
Joining me in Chad's chair right now is the official fact checker of this show, and a man
who is ready for the NFL, because he's the only person in the studio wearing any NFL gear.
You may know him as fondongo, but his mama name him Don Ford, I'm going to call him Don Ford.
Hello, sir.
Here's the challenge.
Woo.
Really loud.
Wow.
Okay.
Here's the challenge.
Okay.
I got to teach the Mrs. Faith Ford.
The only thing she knows, she's a stealer fan.
That's all she knows about American football.
Oh, we'll teach her.
Yeah, we'll teach her.
That is not a challenge, sir.
We are up for that challenge.
Yeah, we are.
Also joining us is the Lady of the House, and a young lady who got exposed to a new band
last night, and she's very excited about that.
She is General.
Welcome, friend.
Goose, goose, goose, goose.
Got to see Goose last night for the team Bubleicious fundraiser had a great time.
Doc was going to be here, but he still has not learned that the older we get, the longer
it takes to recover, so Doc is resting after the show last night.
It had a great time.
Glad to get to hang out and see him and the boys.
They don't perform very often, so when they do, I have to check it out.
I just thought maybe talk about it.
Talk, right?
And don't talk to the side, Don.
How many times have you done that?
I'm trying to pull it.
There you go.
Okay.
I just thought maybe LA wasn't here.
That's why Doc wasn't here because he's in love with the two.
The love affair of the clubhouse pod, yeah.
You can't have one without the other.
Exactly.
That is true.
The in and the in, kids.
All right.
So no updates or corrections from last week's show.
We do have a new iTunes exclusive up if you would like to hear our thoughts on Kidnap.
It is available for you.
It's a thing.
It's a thing.
By the way, speaking of which, I want to let everybody know that I have started doing
this.
Don's going to be doing this very soon as well and chat as well.
We are actually submitting our movie reviews to IMDB, so you can see my reviews from the
last few weeks up there.
If you do with search, it is an old screen name of mine.
Maybe is known as Obi-Bam karaoke.
So if you can find that, you'll find the reviews I've got up, but I'm going to start
doing our website, IMDB, whatever it takes for us to get the word of this show out, we'll
do it.
All right.
Let's get into the show, talk a little NASCAR.
Today was the I Love New York 550.
I think it was the name of this thing at the Glen, at Watkins Glen this afternoon.
Race is over.
Here's your top 10 finishers.
In 10th, Rookie Eric Jones, I think he's a Rookie Eric Jones.
In the number 77 Toyota, starting in the 6th, wound up in 10th, starting in 7th, winding
up in 9th.
You can get him with a side of hash browns if you'd like, AJ Almonddinger, and the number
47 Chevrolet.
The man they call the stone, or at least we do, I don't know if anybody else, it's 21
4th, starting in 16th, cutting it in half, that is Ryan Blaney, Kyle Bush, started in
the pole position in the number 18 Toyota finishes in 7th.
Kurt Bush, his brother, in the 41 4th, starts in 18th, winds up in 6th.
Starting in 12th and winding up in 5th, and then in the 5th spot, Clint Boeier in the
number 14 4th, and the number 11 Toyota, starting in 11th, oddly enough, winding up in 4th,
Denny Hamlin.
You can get him with a side of hash browns if you'd like.
Rookie Daniel Suarez gets his first top 5 finish, and his first stage win in the number
19 Toyota starts in 5, winds up in the bronze medal, Matt Kenseth in the number 20 Toyota
starts in 15th, winds up in the silver medal, and you have your top 4 all Toyota's starting
in the 3rd place position and winning the race, Martin Truex Jr in the number 78 Toyota.
Let's go to your standings as we stand, let me get this up here, we're going to go all
the way down to 16, right now, right on the edge, Ricky Stenthouse Jr in Eric Jones,
are within about 30 points, but they're running out of time, as we'll talk about here
in a minute.
In 16th, Ryan, he is 5 points behind the aforementioned Daniel Suarez.
Suarez is 20 points behind Kurt Bush, Kurt Bush is 15 points back or 14 points back
on Joey, like, you know, like, you know, is about, oh, let's just call it 23 points behind
the stone.
The stone is, let's see, 11 points behind six times, seven times, seven times, seven
times, whatever he is now champion, Jimmy Johnson, Johnson is 35 points back on Clint
Boer.
Boer is, let's say, 28 back on Matt Kenseth, Kenseth is six points back on Jamie McMurray,
Chase Elliott, the new sheriff in town, he is in seventh place, he is five points ahead
of McMurray, but he is 33 points behind Brad Keselowski, Keselowski is six points back
on Denny Hamlin, Hamlin is, do, do, do, do, do, 59 points back on Harvick, Kevin Harvick
is about 13 points back on Kyle Larson, Kyle Larson is six back on Kyle Bush and Martin
Truex Jr. extends his lead, he's now 116 points up in the standings.
Again, don't ask me how to explain the playoffs because I did it once and I can't do it again.
That's what we need bar by our four.
All right.
Well, they get 20 points if they don't have a vow in the second place of their last name.
Oh, is that what it is?
Yeah, I missed that loophole.
They just amended it again.
So your next, your next race is next Sunday, August 13th at three o'clock Eastern from
the Me Shigan International Speedway on your NBC SN affiliate.
It is the pure Michigan 400.
After that, we'll be the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race on Saturday, August 19th and then
they're going to take a week off and then we're on that final stretch towards the playoffs
as we head to Darlington on Labor Day weekend.
After that, we'll be at Richmond for the Federated Auto Parts 400.
There's a reason I'm giving you all these races in advance because we're probably not
going to be on the air for some of it.
We've got a little vacation coming up.
So you got that going for you, which is nice.
All righty, let's see what else we got going on here.
All right, let us keep moving on.
We may have some very special guests joining us here in a little while.
It will depend on what time they arrive at the studio.
So we're going to bump POI back a little bit just because I really, this is a POI I really
want to do, but one of our guests is required to be here for it.
So just stay with me.
Let's do some TV talk.
We've got a lot of headlines for TV this week.
Big day on Tuesday.
What happened?
If you know what the Tuesday's date is, it was the, no, this coming, oh, this coming
Tuesday.
So today is the sixth.
Tuesday will be the eighth.
So it will be eight eight, okay, ESPNU on eight eight for one day and one day only
will become ESPN eight.
The Ocho sure, it's a 15 year old reference, but we're getting the Ocho on Tuesday.
If you haven't seen Dodgeball, go watch it after the show.
And they're going to be doing like arm wrestling and darts for a full day from midnight to
midnight.
It's going to happen.
On ESPNU.
Now, are they going to have Dodgeball on that?
They have to.
There's got to be something.
They might, if you can't at least show the movie, if nothing else.
But also, no, I don't, I don't know if the U shows up in each D or not.
I think it does.
I think it's classic.
That doesn't show up in each D because it's classic.
So if you got something, nothing going on Tuesday, queue up what normally would be ESPNU
and you're going to get the Ocho.
I mean, we're pretty close to eight channels now because you've got ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3,
which is their streaming service, ESPN news, that's four ESPNU, that's five.
The SEC network, that's six, ESPN Classic, that's seven.
Make the Ocho.
And you guys really got the long-horn network if you want to count that too because that's
an ESPN network.
So we're already there.
Call the Ocho.
So the Ocho is coming for one day.
Very excited about this, even though I probably won't be home to watch any of it.
Yeah, we're predisposed that night, man.
Yes, we are.
We got a lot going on.
So this Will and Grace revival is on the way.
As it tends to be the trend in some of these revivals, we're ignoring the finale because
Roseanne's doing the same thing.
But NBC's already renewed it for another season.
So you're getting more Will and Grace.
I enjoy this show very much.
Oh, it's a classic.
Match game has been renewed for season three with Baldwin.
Oh, good.
I've heard this new version's excellent.
And it's Baldwin.
I mean, come on.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's fun.
You can turn it into a toasting game.
You can eat toast.
It's turning into a toasting game.
This Kevin can wait situations getting weirder.
Never seen it.
Yeah.
But we've talked about on the show.
This is the new Kevin James show that's on CBS and how they introduced Leah Remini in
the season finale, who was his wife on King of Queens.
And then we said, oh, by the way, Aaron Hayes, who plays his wife on the show, were bumping
her for Leah Remini in season two.
And Aaron Hayes is going, what do I do?
What do I do?
I do anything.
It gets worse.
Not only are we going to time jump so that they can meet each other, we're killing off
Aaron Hayes' character.
What did this chick do?
We can't just say, hey, you know, things didn't work out.
No, we're going to kill her character.
Are we assuming this is going to make him a more sympathetic character?
Because anybody that watches is going to be like, this is a crap move.
Well, I think it was also though that they were supposed to have such a strong relationship
and a strong marriage for the first couple of seasons.
They can't turn around and all of a sudden make it realistic that it falls apart like
things do in this world.
Well, how about just let Leah Remini go do her show on A&E and be done with it?
The stuff I saw had to do with the chemistry between Kevin and Leah is just amazing and
people loving it.
What always has been.
Now that people that made the NASCAR point system, are they writers doing it for the show?
I mean, well played, Don.
Thank you.
Well played.
So there's something about that chair that's kind of a different side of him.
Is that wrestling logic?
That might be, there is something about this chair that has brought out a different side
of Don.
Leah Remini, they're bringing her back on the show to get rid of her.
No, they're getting rid of the other lady that plays his wife now.
To bring in her.
To bring her in.
Yes.
She's hot now.
That's why she's a, she's, she's not, she's always been hot.
Okay, I'm going back to save by the bell.
She's still hot.
I'm just saying, but no, she, she's pertinent again as the best way to do it.
Oh, she's relevant.
Is that the word you're looking for?
Yes.
Okay.
She was on who's the boss.
She played a list of Milano's friend and then went on to that, that spin off with
all the Milano.
But still a list of Milano.
I still have that show.
I still have that.
I remember a list of Milano's teen steam, VHS, but both of them together, it made a great
show.
I have that new Scientology DPR.
Oh, I'm sure Gendos too, yeah, yeah, because my wife is big into that show.
The Flash season four is going to have elongated man as part of the cast, kind of a more, a little
bit more of an obscure character in the DC universe, but they will be featuring him.
We talked about the Rosanne Revival, how they're, they're ignoring the family.
Johnny Galucky may appear, may take a little bit of time away from the big bang theory
and go back to the Rosanne thing.
So I just don't know if this one's going to work.
And the son, I can't think of his name right now, but he did the one that played DJ actually
was on one of the network star battle of the stars and our chat room is having issues
again.
So if you're in the chat room, you like to give us some feedback, get into our social
stream, type something there and we'll see if we can get to you.
I don't know what's going on.
The stream just does not like me right now.
I'm not to find out what's going on there.
All right.
Let's talk about my one of my favorite shows on TV, the Goldbergs, guest who's guest starring
on the Goldbergs this year.
Done.
I have no idea.
If you were to think the Goldbergs, who's the one person that you would think, Bill Goldberg
is going to be on the Goldbergs this year, very excited about this.
There is nothing about this show that I don't absolutely love.
And now Bill Goldberg is going to be on the Goldbergs.
It's kind of meta.
It works itself back around on itself.
So I'm very excited about that.
Carlos Bernard.
Carlos Bernard.
Carlos Bernard.
Carlos Bernard.
Carlos Bernard.
Or Barnard.
No, it's names familiar, losing me.
24?
Okay.
All right.
He is joining Supergirl this year as Maggie Sawyer's father.
Okay.
So Bernard.
Okay.
Carlos Bernard.
Yep.
Yep.
Okay.
So.
And Sylvester Stallone is going to guest star and this is us during season two.
Sylvester Stallone.
Okay.
Some kind of a, have you heard this weird?
It's busy now.
He's about 150.
Okay.
He's showing up and stuff.
And we're going to talk about him later in the show too.
He's got two different headlines.
Do you hear about this weird loophole with them getting disqualified for one of their Emmy
nominations?
Who's that?
This is us.
No, I have nothing.
They got disqualified and House of Cards took their place for their Emmy nomination for
best costume design because apparently the costume design doesn't match the contemporary
time.
It's set in or something.
Very weird loophole that they get disqualified from an Emmy nomination.
I, I, I, I, I, I get NASCAR people.
I, I guess I guess there's a point system involved that I don't understand.
I don't understand.
Pat and Oswald has replaced Bobby Moynihan in a show called Happy that will be coming up
later this year.
It's about a cop who's, I mean, let me pull this up.
I get you the official official, it's, it's based on a graphic novel.
I'm glad to see him working again.
Patins great.
I mean, I'm a big fan of Pat and Oswald and I need exact title matches, please.
It's not, it's, it's basically about a cop who's down on his luck.
But he has this unicorn that, I think this is it right here.
I got found it.
Oh, so that's your loans to 71.
Okay.
Okay.
I was close.
Of course.
No, it's not the same one I'm looking for.
But it's, it's a television show and, and Bobby was supposed to be the voice of the unicorn.
But Bobby's actually going on to do a different show.
He's actually doing a sitcom.
So it's going to be Pat and Oswald.
Emma Roberts has joined American Horror Story cult.
I'm out on this show, but I know that we have listeners that do enjoy it very, very much.
Again, if you'd like to give us some feedback, check our social stream, not the chat room.
I cannot get the chat room to work.
I don't know what's going on.
I do apologize.
Let's see what's out, Sean Spicer has turned down dancing with the stars.
Oh, the press secretary former.
Yeah.
Yes.
He has turned down dancing with the stars.
We talked last week about how they were trying to get them on the show.
He said, literally, they sit now by an association, the most famous press secretary in his
own.
Oh, no doubt.
Outside of CJ.
Craig.
The West Wing reference.
Never mind.
Hasbro and Netflix are getting together for a stretch Armstrong series.
Yes.
Cool.
So, I mean, Hasbro's started to cash in some of their, their stuff here.
I remember, I remember a version when I was a kid.
That was plastic, man.
There's Barbie Hasbro Mattel.
Barbie is Mattel.
Okay.
We've seen the new Barbies.
No.
They've come up with new.
There's like seven different skin tones, multiple hair types and figures now.
They actually have a curvy Barbie.
Mazel top.
Good to them.
Let's see.
This next thing.
Oh, no.
What?
He's losing it already.
All right.
Vin Diesel.
Okay.
Stay with me.
Like him as an actor.
Vin Diesel has a production company called One Race and they have a television to
give it.
Good for him.
They are rebooting Miami Vice.
Now, the Michael Mann movie, I didn't mind it.
I enjoyed it.
It was okay.
You know, it was what it was.
Yeah.
You know, it's Colin Farrell.
It's Jamie Foxx and it's guns.
Like, what else do you need?
But NBC is on board.
And that was the original network that Miami Vice was on in the 80s.
So.
What's Vin Diesel going to play the Hispanic commander?
I guess.
I don't know.
I live my life one drug deal at a time.
Well, just because the company doesn't mean he's necessarily going to be in the show.
Oh, please.
Oh, yeah.
I think we all know better than that.
Yeah.
Sure.
Because, you know, this is the guy that decided he was going to do another Riddick film.
Yeah.
I'm waiting for the last witch hunter part two.
That movie could have been so, such, so great.
If they just broken that up and not try to do it all on one thing.
Stars is actually doing a television series from the divergent book ascendant.
So if you're a fan of the divergent series.
Stars has gone away from the movies and more of the series.
To what everybody's doing.
Well, you know, everybody's doing it.
Well, they were known as like a movie network.
Well, stars has Encore.
Yeah.
So Encore does a lot of the movies.
And you've got epics and you've got there's like 19 different stars networks now.
Yeah.
There's one that does nothing but Westerns all day.
Yeah.
So, and in what could be, I don't know if it's the strangest headline of the week.
Oh, let's hear it.
Or the most awesome headline of the week.
So you've heard of YouTube red.
Yes.
It's their television division.
If I said 10 episodes, half hour apiece, the karate kid.
Would that do anything for you?
Um, only because I saw a picture of the other day of two people who might be involved.
Oh, no, you're talking about two people who are involved.
William Zabaka and Ralph Machio are involved.
Now, he played the, the born Johnny.
Johnny.
Yeah.
Sweet the leg.
Okay.
He's got your sense.
He's the one I fan growled over and he gave me a hug.
This is happening.
That is all.
And you know what?
Can't be worse than the remake.
Well, I think it's supposed to just be now.
I mean, it's not supposed to look back.
It's supposed to be this is where they are now.
Unless they try to turn it into like a wackety, schmackety dude kind of a sitcom, then I might
have a problem.
But I just, I'd be interested to see how this goes.
Like, that would be.
Is Machio's kid going to bully Zabaka's kid now?
Kind of a reversal of fortunes.
Doling Del Joes, or do they work together?
See, if they work together, they're going to turn into a sitcom.
They were, what's that on me?
Is on now they work together?
Oh, God.
And they all live in one house.
With one wife.
Well, you know, Raven someones doing that bit now.
She's doing a new sitcom where she's a Dover say, and her best friends a Dover say.
And they're, they're two ladies in a couch full of kids.
Yeah.
I liked it.
I liked it with Kate and Allie.
Doesn't mean that needs to be remade again and again and again and again and again.
Because I'm just waiting for Will Smith to do the spice girl show on CBS.
I'm waiting.
Will Smith is sporty spice.
No, they'll have the daughter do that one.
Yeah.
They'll let their daughter do that one.
And it's on the plate.
Those kids frighten me.
Yeah.
God.
Never.
Move on.
So TV on DVD and Blu-ray this week.
Season two of Blind Spot.
I just, I can't get into that show.
I love her to death.
Huge fan of her.
Because she's Lady Siff.
But it's just weird to me.
Season seven of Portlandia.
I didn't know that show had been down that long with the great Fred Armason.
And the complete series for Power Rangers Operation Overdrive.
If you can't get enough of that, that's available for you this week.
Yeah, I'll be first by.
All right.
Like I said, we're going to push back POI in case our guests get here.
They don't know that we're pushing it back.
If you need to change it, though, I got a perfect POI, though.
Hold on to it.
Yeah.
Go ahead, Jen.
Since we're wrapping up on TV, I found out something this week that just interested me.
The actor, Chris Pine, that played Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman movie.
Uh-huh.
Do you know who his dad is?
Yes.
Okay.
I just found out that it was the guy who played Sarge on chips.
On chips.
Mm-hmm.
Didn't know that until this week.
Yeah.
They talked about that when I watched Shatner did a documentary called The Captains,
where he interviewed all the captains from all the Star Trek series.
But then he did a companion series that were just half hours on each of them individually.
And when he did the overview, he didn't do one on Chris Pine, but Chris Pine was in it.
And they talk about his dad in it.
Okay.
So that's how I knew.
Cool.
Chris Pine was one of those that I was like, okay, that's probably why I thought he was kind of cute,
was that his daddy.
So he said, actually, he didn't want to be an actor when he was a kid,
but he was just around it so much.
He was just like, I might as well just do this thing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And now he's kept in Kirk.
So, you know, sometimes the karma train works.
All right.
So let's talk NFL because it's NFL.
The NFL is back.
No, not really.
It's preseason.
But training camp is on Tuesday night.
Tuesday night.
See, your boys are, I got Tuesday in a hard knocks with Mike Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year.
Thank you for reminding me.
I said the DVR.
Hall of Fame game.
Oh, Brian Burn in front of the show is listening in who I will be seeing in 27 days for Brahma,
Paloza 2017.
Good to see you.
Check it in, brother.
All right.
Hall of Fame game.
Remember, the wins don't count, but the injuries do.
As I have learned in the last three days.
But the Hall of Fame game, Dallas, Beats, Arizona, 20 to 18.
And the game at Dallas Trail, most of this thing.
But again, doesn't count.
Uh, I, you know what, before we get to this story, let's just talk about, uh,
week one of the preseason because I, as the kids like to say, I just can't right now.
All right.
So Wednesday night Houston will play Carolina.
Uh, Thursday night, Minnesota will play Buffalo.
I'm not saying anybody's at anybody because very anybody plays in their own stadiums during
preseason.
Uh, let's see.
My dolphins Thursday night will host the Atlanta Falcons.
Jacksonville will play New England.
Washington will play Baltimore also on Thursday.
Denver will play Chicago.
New Orleans will play Cleveland.
Philly will play Green Bay.
Then we get into Friday night.
You're a Pittsburgh sealers will be playing the Giants.
You're not going to be able to watch it.
So, yeah, Steven just texted me.
He's listening and he does what I'm about to talk about.
Let's just say, Steven, I'm right there with your brother.
And we're going to talk about it here in just a second.
Uh, let's see.
Pittsburgh will play the Giants.
My Buccaneers will play Cincinnati.
San Francisco is going to play Kansas City.
Tennessee will play New York.
And then Saturday is when Tennessee will play New York.
Dallas will play the Rams.
Oakland will play Arizona.
And then Sunday, next week, we'll have our first Sunday football games
as Detroit plays Indy and Seattle will play Los Angeles.
Oh, the law.
I forget this.
The Los Angeles Chargers cannot get used to that.
So now let's talk about this thing.
My dolphins.
I love my dolphins.
Yeah.
A dolphin as long as I can remember.
Yeah.
Ryan Tannahill.
He's that one guy gets injured in a non-contact play on the knee
that he just had surgery on.
And for what I'm about to say,
let me just tell you what Steven just texted me.
He wants you to know that as a result of this next story,
he is now standing behind the steel curtain.
Oh, come on.
There was talk as soon as Tannahill went down.
The backup is Matt Moore.
He's serviceable.
He's been in the league a few years.
Yeah.
Not a rookie.
Not a rookie.
Not a great stellar record, but sees it.
He's not true blood, so he's not, you know, but still he can play.
Right.
He backed up Jake Deloam.
Yeah.
You know.
So to talk about Colin Kaepernick started as soon as as Tannahill went down.
I'm okay with Colin Kaepernick.
I don't necessarily agree with some of the stances he has taken.
I understand some of it.
Some of it was a little much for me.
I'd have almost been okay with Kaepernick.
The report I said today was if they do sign Kaepernick,
which has not happened yet, he would be the backup.
They did sign someone today.
One year, ten million dollars,
for who could be one of the most overrated quarterbacks in the last 25 years
in J. Freakin' Cutler.
Oh, they didn't get Johnny football?
Might have been an upgrade.
Yeah.
I have said for days I don't want the smoking quarterback.
I said it last week on this show, which one again?
The smoking quarterback.
Jake Cutler.
You're calling that because Jake Cutler has these weird facial expressions
and somebody on the internet did a series of pictures where they photoshopped in cigarettes.
Just Google Jake Cutler smoking.
It's one of the funniest things you will ever see.
It's the only thing that I've ever found funny about that man.
He's overrated.
I mean, granted, as a dolphin,
I have learned to accept mediocrity.
It is our lot in life.
We were a playoff team last year.
But when you play in a division with the Patriots,
you kind of have to fight through it until the cycle goes on the downside again.
Now, Brian, my friend from back home, he's telling me because he does all the...
He's a policeman.
And he's a policeman in the city where the dolphins train.
He just texted me and he says the training camp is on his campus.
Cutler's been there for a week.
Now, Cutler, we know, has been signed to do broadcasting.
He has foregone that for this deal.
He says from what he's seen, Cutler is ready.
I am not sold.
I am not sold until I see this product on the field.
Because we've also got Jay and Jay in concussion protocol.
And he's a huge part of this offense.
Are you finding the pictures now?
Yeah.
Is it not one of the funniest stuff you've ever seen?
Just Google Jay Cutler's smoking.
Yeah, it's great.
It's football in the 60s.
Honestly, there's a whole website full of them.
Oh my gosh.
I think it's called Smoking Jay Cutler or something.
I don't know what carmetrain we've made mad.
I don't know what's going on.
I will stand by, I mean, I got my cup on the desk.
And I've known about this all day.
I got the report from ESPN as soon as the deal was done.
You are a true fan.
I will stand by this team.
For most anything.
Now, the only people I wouldn't stand by for this team
aren't in the league anymore.
So, I don't have that going for me.
Well, you know, you got this going on.
What about my Steelers resigning, Tomlin?
But you know what? I like Mike Tomlin.
I don't.
As an outsider, as someone who doesn't have a dog in the fight
with your team, I like the guy.
They signed in through 2020.
Too long.
So, you know, I mean, that's...
That's only three seasons.
Four if you include this one.
Yeah, he won a Super Bowl, but that was on Cowars Coats.
It was he done since.
Not the next time.
Yeah, but who are you going to replace him with?
There's someone out there.
I mean, that man is embedded in the culture of Pittsburgh.
Debate me.
Yeah, he is.
Your dad lives there.
I mean, he is part of the Pittsburgh culture.
But with that new offensive coordinator in Tomlin,
it's like that team could have been a lot better.
Honestly, if we would have had like a coach, coach, coach.
I mean, a good coach.
Instead of Tomlin for the last 10 years,
we probably could have had another Super Bowl.
And we would have lost Super Bowl 45.
Just saying.
We'll see.
I mean, this...
When I saw the deal,
one year, $10 million.
That's insanity.
Now, with all of this hatred I am spewing right now,
watch them go out and win the dog on Super Bowl.
And then I'm going to have to eat all of these words.
No, because you're saying you want to see the proof.
So if he starts proving himself,
you still have an out there.
$10 million.
One year.
I mean, granted it's one year.
He already has 10 years under the bell.
He's getting old.
He's not worth $10 million.
But the rumors were,
when his name came up,
that he wanted top five money.
I was like,
did someone not tell you who you are?
You're Jay Cutler.
Is that whole 10 go towards the whole cap this year?
I'm assuming.
Because it's a one year deal.
I don't know how much.
Is it guaranteed?
All I know is one year,
$10 million.
That's all I know.
And I'm losing my cool.
Jay Cutler,
you better go out and light the world on fire.
Because if you don't,
you're going to hear this from me every week
for the entire season.
Like I said,
I'm a dolphin.
I get mediocrity.
But this decision makes no sense to me.
Now if Brian,
if you know,
Brian's very trustworthy,
he's one of my closest friends in the entire world.
And again,
training is on the campus where he works.
I'm going to roll with this.
Like I have a choice.
Like I have a say in it.
But!
I will be watching cautiously,
optimistically.
Because I just...
And then I'll be happy at the day
that we get to pay trades out of our division.
Okay.
And don't forget,
Hard Knocks does start Tuesday night
with the Bucky Niers.
And I'm going to take my heart medicine
and take a break here.

Steven just texted me.
It's five million guaranteed,
five million in a production bonus,
and three million in incentive.
So, it could be up to 13 million.
Hey, you know, if he can earn it,
I'm all the more for him.
Hey, real quick on a steward schedule though.
Yes.
Kind of looking, you know.
They got four neckings in a row.
They got the Thursday night.
Then they got the Sunday night.
Then they got the Monday night.
Then December 10th, they have this
where I'm going to ball for the Baltimore game.
They're also Sunday nights.
So, they got Thursday, Sunday, Monday, Sunday.
Assuming no flex on the Sunday.
Because Sunday night can be flexed.
Probably because it's a Baltimore.
They're not going to split up.
You just, it's going to depend.
If they're both just terrible, it's going to depend.
Then a week after.
Because December, they is when they like to flex.
Then week 15, this could be a Barnburner.
New England at Pittsburgh.
I will be the biggest Pittsburgh fan in the world that day.
Barb, why are you hearing me?
Because my teams are the dolphins, the bucks,
and whoever plays the Patriots.
All right, so let's have a look.
Only one music headline this week.
Can we bring up one thing real fast?
Please do.
I hate that flexing.
Because I'm taking a trip out there for the Baltimore game.
Yeah, I know.
Believe me.
I think it's a dumb idea too.
But it is what it is.
It wasn't said.
It should be said.
I'm sorry.
You know, I don't care.
Because people are playing fights and all that.
I'm driving.
No, I'm right there with you.
Yeah, I'll leave it at that.
One music headline this week, but it is a big headline.
Just to be perfect.
October.
We talked about B-Relaxing.
I know what you're going back on schedule.
No, I haven't.
You're going back on tour.
Coming in October, the return of TRL.
MTV is bringing back TRL in the original Times Square studio in October.
Which means,
you're at least going to get clips of music videos on MTV.
Don't, please don't do that.
I'm trying to bump my head on it.
Because you're going to have to, I think it's going to fall off.
It's barely on there as it is.
Don't, don't, don't.
You know what?
I support this move.
Because MTV needs to be showing videos.
Even though they would only show like 45 second clips and half of it would be covered with
I like it.
I get sick and scream.
It's going to fall.
It's going to fall.
It's going to fall.
It's going to fall.
It's going to fall.
Steve is on the screen
Who are you?
Steve, where do you need me?
I do miss when there were videos on the music television.
I need Vivo to have its own channel.
That's all I'm saying.
Because they have these called MTV.
They don't say MTV Music selections just MTV.
But I do like MTV classic, cause they do some awesome stuff on MTV classic.
There you are, what they're going to show.
The Bieber, the Taylor Swift, the Beyonce.
But you know what?
I'll take it over reality show, reality show, reality show, teen wolf reality show ridiculousness,
Reality show teen wolf reality show ridiculousness reality show. I mean, I'll take it. I'm not gonna say watch it
But at least they're showing music if they're gonna do a show. Let's bring back remote control
We kind of have a version of it in our bird. Well, I know we have the version in our bird, but the weekend rock
One 120 minutes. I like the weekend rock on Saturday after you curt loader, man
That was good. That's a in the top 20 countdown every week Friday Friday night fights that head banger ball
Okay, banger's ball big man. That was huge. So that's happening. So get ready if you have teenagers in your midst. It's coming
Only one music new release is coming week that I recognize the Kesha. She is no longer K-dollar sign, huh?
She's now back to Kesha new album is called rainbow releases this week
All right
Let us get into what is the roughest part of the show
Oh
Here's that in memoriam. Oh
We're gonna start with Sam Shepard
Past away this past week age of 73
Why do you was 75 I could have been on that
Great actor playwright author screenwriter director played Chuck Yeager and the right stuff was 73
73 okay
He was New York magazine called him the greatest American playwright of his generation
This was one that a lot of people
like
Heard his name and thought it was somebody else, but no, I mean this guy was somebody. He was actually married to Jessica Lang for 17 years
The man's brilliant. He was doing bloodline. I don't know if they're gonna what they're gonna do. Yeah
He served in the arm in the Air Force during World War II. Oh, his father did. I'm sorry
Um
He worked on a ranch as a teenager
Briefly studied animal husbandry at Mount Sinan Mount San Antonio College
Got into jazz and college which led him into to playwriting
Became part of the off off Broadway theater scene in 1962
This is this is he's one of those guys that when you realize who he is you go. Oh that dude
Um, let's just go through his his
Some of the stuff that he's done
I mean you're looking at like I said the main thing you need to know is he was nominated for an Oscar
For playing Chuck Yeager and the right stuff
I mean the list is he was in Terrence Malak's days of heaven in 1978 with Richard gear and Brooke Adams
He was Ellen Burstin's love interest in resurrection
He was also in
One of his plays was adapted for the screen by Robert Altman that he was actually in called fool for love
Black Hawk down. There's a ton of stuff. Mug. I know you hate that one swordfish
He actually when a patty Smith covered smells like teen spirit. He actually contributed a banjo line for it
And a musician too
This is a guy that a lot of people would just like whoa
Safehouse in Denzel. Yep
Fair game
Oh jeez, I forgot about fair game. He's one of those that wasn't that a
Wasn't that Alec Baldwin and Cindy Crawford? No, that was a Sean Penn and Naomi whites. Oh, okay. Yeah
He's kind of become a hey, it's that guy. You know you know him when you see him, but you don't realize that's who it is also this week Robert Hardy at
91
He I believe wasn't he involved in the
My my internet's not working very well
He was he was he was he was involved in the Harry Potter series
He played Cornelius Fudge in the Harry Potter films
He was also in the original version of the spy who came in from the cold. How I won the war?
Let's see yellow dog
Xenia adventures of Robin Hood in 1984 Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in 94 sense and sensibility in 95
Gollvers travel in 96
The gathering in 2002
He also has a list of television credits as long as your arm
um
He played Winston Churchill and then Agatha Christie adaptation of the Stafford mystery and
Then if you're a fan of college football
Ace of Parseguin. I'm not I know I screwed that up. I are a parseguin. I'm sorry at 94
This was the long-time coach of Notre Dame a lot of people respected highly
Very big loss in the sports world as well
so
Big week in departures
Not good. They will all be missed greatly
That being said we are going to go ahead and move along and
Do a little major league baseball talk
All right, let's get into it standings
American league east the Toronto blue jays they've pulled within seven games of 500
But in that division they're ten and a half back
So yeah, the two leaders only three and a half games above 500
No, your leader is 14 games above 500. Oh, okay
They are three games behind Baltimore
Baltimore is two games back on my devil raise the devil raise are two and a half back on the Yankees
The Yankees are three back on Boston Boston's eight and two in their last ten. Oh, and they're on a six game win streak
in the a l central
Chicago white socks are 27 games below five hundred and they're 18 back. They're two and eight in their last ten
Rough deal for them. They are nine and a half back on Detroit
Detroit is two and a half back on Minnesota Minnesota three back on Kansas City Kansas City's back on three back on Cleveland
Both Casey and Minnesota. I'm sorry. Go with Casey and Cleveland
Are on two game losing streaks in the a l west the Oakland a's 13 games below 500 they're 22 back
We are getting close to the time of year where we will talk about people being mathematically out of it
So get ready for that
There are four games back on the Rangers who are all over the place right now. Yeah, Rangers are two back on law
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Los Angeles County California America North America Earth Milky Way universe
LA is
Game and a half back on Seattle Seattle now 14 and a half back on Houston Houston is still running away with this thing
There is no race
There's still time
Not a ton of it, but they're still time
Need to check something really quick the race. All right
In the national league west
The San Francisco Giants are 15 games below 500 they're 35 and a half back
They're probably about a week and a half from mathematically out of it
They are six and a half back on San Diego San Diego was 13 and a half back on the diamond backs
They are a half game back on Colorado, but Misty's beloved Dodgers are 15 games up in the division
They're nine and one in their last 10
So you Darvish me Rob good luck to your brother. Yeah
In the NL Central the Cincinnati Reds are 21 games below 500 they're 13 and a half back
They are nine games back on your beloved Pittsburgh pirates
For the seller. Yeah, but Pittsburgh's only four and a half back in the division. Yeah, they so it's not like you're out of it
I mean they'd swap Milwaukee and then they come back and
So they're a game, but they're a game back on the Cardinals. Yeah
The Cardinals are three back on middle walk. Hey, middle walk. Hey is only a half game back on the cubs
So you got Milwaukee's gonna melt down. We all know what's gonna happen. Well, you got what 14s within about five game range right now
Yeah, I mean, yeah, you got four of the five in the division are less than five games out
Because middle walk is only a half game back on the cubs
So I mean this could be the one that we watch down to the wire
It but in the only division that matters the NL East Philadelphia is 29 games below 500 right now
They are nine and a half back on the Mets the Mets are a game back on my beloved braves my beloved braves
Or a half game back on my beloved marlins. However, the marlins are still 13 back on the nettles
And they apparently they've beefed up the bullpen some getting a little nervous now
So do you think they are they are they got a meltdown or not the nettles
They've made some moves towards the trade deadline. Yeah, that
Make me worry a little bit, but I'm still not convinced the meltdown's not coming about the Rangers trades in the last day or two
They're playing to finish at this point. They're so all over the place that it's just hard to watch that team. They lost today to the twins
All right, so let's play America's favorite game show
What is the one differential for the San Diego Padres now? Let's put it this into context the Padres even though they have the worst
Rundifferential in Major League Baseball
They're not in last place
As we said earlier there's six and a half games up on the on the Giants
All right, so
Generating the house. What is the one differential?
One of those one away done. Well, I'm gonna get my same guesses last week 125 all right
The San Diego Padres are 49 and 61 they have a 445 winning percentage
They're 29 games back in the division. They are 29 and 27 at home. So they're about 500 home
On the road, they're 20 and 34
They're six and four in their last 10. They've only run a one game losing streak
Don is the closest without going over their Rundifferential currently is minus 135 last week. They're 120
So you know they went down 15 in a week
You know
All right, let us combine our knowledge of pop culture taking sports and entertainment putting them together and talking a little pro wrestling
Don's about to be very very happy if we're all good what
One of his favorite wrestlers
More on Chena has gotten some backstage
Somebody that I enjoy very very much somebody that I am a fan of
I'm gonna get described to you the situation. Oh, and I'm gonna let you guess who I'm referring to
Not one Chena okay
Apparently there was a bus tour going on with a bunch of WWE superstars
Okay, this person was on the phone apparently talking very very loudly to someone
Maybe not saying some of the most flattering things about the business
But also talking about how much money they were making
You know it's bad when you get kicked off of a bus by Roman Reigns
Don would you like to guess who this person is? I think I heard something about it. I forgot who it was
um
One of my favorites
Are you being literal favorites or oh god no god
Okay, so it's not Roman Reigns. It's not one Chena
Uh
Michael Cole no
Uh, it's not moral um um hold on let me think
I will say that there are rumors as a result of this incident
He could be relegated to 205 live or he could be sent back to NXT
No, it ends up you are correct sir. Well, I read that ends up thing. I don't hate him
No, you call him a fraggle. Well, I did but he's
His my skills start to get on me
But I heard stuff that they were seeing how he's so hyper and stuff. That's him all the time. Oh, yeah
No, that's that's yeah
He's a great man on a mic. At first. I thought he looked like a cable right a frugal addicted to crack
But you know his my skills. I think I think 205 live could use him
You think so put some life in that thing
Especially now with double a gone or a double
With austenaries gone. You got to fill that void somehow
So because really him as a singles wrestler does nothing for him. He was saying how much money he makes and all that
That's what I've read and he was pissing off everybody and that's it and Roman Reigns kicked him off the bus
So now that might have been an interesting paper beer
Well, you know the thing yeah, that's hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey a bus match
We know we know somebody's listening. This is you know from an a frugal, you know, I mean
You know, here's the thing if I was in those more popular than Reigns
I'm sorry, and they're not shoving their inzo down everybody's throat like they are Reigns like Steven said
30% loss of cancellations because of Roman allegedly allegedly, but still
You know, he's more popular than Reigns. He hasn't get booed when he comes out. So there's a new podcast out there on podcast one
Doc and I are very very happy about this
First guest on this podcast was the Baptista
Okay, we're apparently he talked a lot but apparently he has a lot of
trust in this person
Because he was able to open up about some of the social anxieties he had growing up
Do you want to guess who this person is if I say doc and I are very very happy
RBD. No, that's just doc William. Yes, William Garcia. Okay
So she has a brand new podcast out there. So go check it out
Guess who's returning to the ring next month
Wait, do you know what the podcast is
Terry funk is returning to the ring next week next month done
Terry funk Terry funk. Can you even walk?
He's gonna be in Raleigh and Charleston, North Carolina for two matches
He will be teaming with the rock and roll express
To take on Jerry Lawler Doug Gilbert and Brian Christopher and six-man tag
This fascinates darn he's dumbfounded. So he got I'm trying to fact check at the same time
Two things at once. So he got
Terry funk and the rock and roll express. Yeah versus Lawler Doug Gilbert and Lawler's kid
And is this a T&A match? No, it's big time wrestling
It's what it's called BTW
Fans in Raleigh and Charleston, North Carolina. It's coming your way next month
All right, it's chasing Gloria with William Garcia. There you go. There you go
Um
Excuse me
In news that you will be happy with sir apparently WWE has passed on rames 0 junior
Well, that makes Chad even happier though. That's true. Yeah. I don't hate him that much
It's just like why would you make him back? We also have conflicting reports
Of the legitimacy of Bayley's injury
Uh Bayley getting injured during the um was that angle or is that true?
We have conflicting reports that the the shoulder injury whether or not it's legit
So
Why is my keyboard not working
The Zimmerman said six six-man tag deathmatch
Oh
There we go. I think it's working now
Boy, maybe not to get that pay-per-view
So let's talk. Okay, here we go. Uh, and tomorrow night
Uh, apparently our guests are going to be here in about 25 minutes. Um
Tomorrow nights
Roman Reigns Braun Strowman match
Yeah, last man standing
That's what you got
Where's his hat? I had no earthly. I know they were in the burg recently. Yeah, they were
But I'm just like pull that crown to cheer for
Uh, raw notes
Okay, I love the new chemist in Cesaro shirts
Yeah, those were cool. Especially the one Cesaro was wearing. Yeah, the one chemist was wearing was kind of playing
I like the one Cesaro was wearing
And oh yeah, they were in the burgers past Monday night. Yeah
But I'm just trying to figure news flash to the Miz now what
This team hasn't won anything in years. Didn't they just win the Stanley Cup
Isn't there a big sign on the entranceway that says 2017 Stanley Cup champion which they showed on raw
God bless the Miz
He you know what I'm giving in he could be the best heel in the business right now
I'll give you that as much as I hate him too. Not a huge respect him, but he's getting it done. Yeah
I mean he is entertaining
You got to get I he you know he's from Cleveland and I hated him
I mean hated him
But I remember when he went on that rant on snack game and ripped on Daniel Bryan's and I've got
Dude he earned a lot of respect for me at that point now. I'm watching him going. You know what I could kind of like him
He's getting away some Cleveland. Yeah, he said that and I just laughed. I was like
And you gotta look at what he's done. I mean the Miss Dow thing
I don't know why they say stop that like they did. I mean the you know
The what do they call that thing with the Miz?
Miss Dow. Yeah, yeah, that was great. He's a stunt double. Yeah, it's exactly. I like to stuff with him in Morrison
I thought Miz and Morrison was a great tag team
We got a teacher about the Miz show no the Miz or show Miz the the Miz down. We got
Catcher up on that because that was some funny. That's that's a whole off-air conversation
I knew the Miz before he was when he knew he was gonna be the Miz but before he hooked up with WW
Back in the real-world days. Yeah
Brandy Rhodes has been removed from the GFW roster
apparently
She because you know they pay so well
Apparently she got a non-tell not non-restling television show in Atlanta
GFW wanted a piece of it
Yeah, right
You're not paying me anyway. I'm gonna make money. So apparently she asked for her release and got it
Wow
So yes, who might be showing up on ROH television in the near Brandy Rhodes
Is that in a Rhodes family?
It's Cody's wife. I didn't oh you mean the wife there. Yes. Oh wow that she was a ring announcer and all that yes
Now did did Rhodes did he Cody? Did he actually sign a contract? I mean they I don't know
Steven if you're listening text me I don't know if he's actually signed to ROH or not
I don't know if this is just in the angle or if it's a handshake deal
Steven tends to be a lot more deeply rooted in this stuff than I do
Cuz he yeah, I mean he lives in Breeze it more than I do which I didn't think I'd ever find
But that dude really does give me a run for my money. It's part of the reason I love him so much because we he keeps me on my toes
Uh
Russ says that raw is in Toronto tomorrow night
Toronto okay
So we're we're in can we're in canadia
So how will they wrote will they root for Roman or will they root for bond?
I don't know and that's what I love
I'm just such a strange car. There's a thing
I hate how they try to shove the step down our throat sublimely when he comes out with the biggest boo
And the people are going like this and they've signed on one sign that says Roman Reigns. I love Roman
You look at everybody else
There's one sign it says I love Roman and they
But that's why and WWE these camera people are so great because they can find that one thing
They try to shove it down to throw it sublimely. I hate that
That's what they pay them to do
So all right, let's see what else we have going on here. Uh
Madison Rain also out
I don't know if we reported on that or not. I saw that today
There are rumors of an ROH stable in NXT
Now that they have Bobby fish Kylo Riley
Uh yeah
So let's see how that works. Riley and Fisher gone. Right dragons gone. God
I didn't know they're both in NXT. I didn't know they're both gone
So we haven't seen them on the RHD been a long time. I know. I didn't know they're both gone
I really enjoyed ROH again this week. They're the best two out of three falls match
Uh you had the return of Jay lethal. That was huge. It was awesome. I knew this is like somebody's kind of
We walloped him. November 7th marker in your calendars
If you know who fathom events are they do these special deals and theaters you watch concerts and stuff
They will be for one night only showing the Ted D. Biasi documentary the price of fame
I'm in so that'll be on November the 7th
Eva Marie officially out of WWE
Uh Steven says he has a deal with ROH expiring a late December. Okay. Thank you brother. Thank you. God. I love that guy
Now here's
He picks up. He tends to pick up my slack especially when he goes that deep into wrestling
Because you know Steve. I never run out of anything to talk about this
We talk all the time loving that's you know thrown in the side
But apparently this was her decision not theirs. WWE wanted to keep her because that thing before the suspension
Of her coming out and then not wrestling. Yeah. Yeah everything the four weeks
The intro that guy the most reflux and then she had the wardrobe malfunction
Oh my leg and that was working and it got her in it
She has she does have the charisma of appealed grape
But she was fun to watch
Especially that yeah still that bit, you know, it's like she walks into the ring
Oh my light my knee just went out, you know or you know or there's in here
Oh by the way, she's not wrestling tonight, you know, I mean that was good
They could have built off that and
Mazel tov to AJ Styles he and his wife celebrating 17 years of marriage this past week
So Mazel tov tov them only one note from smack down live
So if I'm clear the usos are now old school Cena
You mean the dude dude dude dude dude dude dude dude dude dude dude dude dude you noticed
They're rhyming off of each other now
They're doing the old school Cena promo thing you mean the rapper thing and all that. Yeah. Yeah
Please the news though. We tried just 20 times
I mean, I get that you want to do evolve them away from the bit they were in, but I don't
know if this is any better of a bit.
What do you like more, the old, with the, what they, ooh, so, or the, but what did you
think of the Breezongo bit this week, where they were making fun of Twin Peaks?
That was funny.
That was funny.
But when do they get in wrestling them and really push them in a ring?
That's my question.
Well, I mean, they had a tag team shot recently.
I know they got to put a, they got to put a belt on them.
I honestly think they got to put a belt on them.
We will see.
All right.
Because I have to think when a people get heat, I mean, when they get that push and they
get that crowd reaction, sometimes WWE does not follow through.
Remember when, when I wouldn't say sometimes, I mean, when sometimes people are hot, they
don't go with it.
Again, I wouldn't say sometimes.
90 something.
I would say, rarely.
I mean, you look at like when Fondongo got that first push years ago in a da da da.
But see, let's go back to that because you really have to understand that if it wasn't
for the New York crowd, that push never happens.
But then when that song went everywhere and it was so hard.
And then it was because of the New York crowd the night after WrestleMania.
Yeah.
That was what, that was what sparked that.
That's what's so brilliant about the Raw after WrestleMania, that Raw makes and
breaks careers.
Because if you remember, he was doing this bit that was just he had, he had one NXT and
he was doing this horrible bit where he was just like acting out clichés, like crying
over spilled milk.
And then they decided to do this Fondongo bit.
And it was just like Johnny Curtis, here you go.
And then that night after WrestleMania, which is again, for those of you unaware that
this is the biggest show of the year for WWE, bar none.
We were there for the one here in that.
Yeah, I would have a good one for now.
We had a great Rob, but not a great after, I've seen compared to those other ones last
four years.
But still the hottest crowd, I've ever been a part of.
Yeah, yeah, I mean with that, I mean with that crowd, can dictate a push, that crowd,
sing as far as Stephen just texted me as a glorious is a better theme.
But that crowd singing along to that song because that crowd is so hot is what made that
push, because after that crowd saying the song, every crowd saying the song, and
that's what caused that cause the push.
So it wasn't necessarily who Johnny Curtis was, it was just that crowd that caught fire.
But when he catch fire, let it burn.
Let that fire burn.
They did for a while.
They didn't, and so much as they could have.
You know, let's break up the shield when they're hot.
Let's do this.
See, yeah, that I completely disagreed with.
But again, that crowd makes her breaks.
And really anytime they're either here or New York or Minnesota, those are the three big
crowds that you deal with, sometimes LA, but they've gotten too much of the LA scene
into it when they go to LA.
But that, that raw makes her breaks careers.
Yeah.
But it's so weird that it's that, but again, it's WrestleMania.
So you have people from all over the world.
Yeah, cause you have a hundred thousand, 80, 90, 100,000 fans going to the arena.
You have raw the next night, which is only sits 15, 20,000.
Those people that travel are going to do both.
And you get the hardcore, the hardcore, they're going to go.
And the people, I mean, well, I loved about that crowd.
It was, it was people that were just having a good time.
I know.
I mean, when we, when the Anna toll, people are chanting.
They were chanting their hotels back and forth, like, and then, and then there was like
a beach ball.
And the beach ball got confiscated.
So they were taking wrestling chance and putting beach ball into it.
Like for, instead of new day, they were going, beach, ball rocks, beach, ball rocks.
I mean, it was, it's hard, if you, if you've never been there, it's hard to explain how
great that atmosphere is.
Even if you've been to a pay-per-view or if you've been to a non-Russellmania pay-per-view
or a house show or a raw taping or a smackdown taping, there's nothing like that.
That show.
And you were both at rope wrestlemania and raw.
Yeah.
And that's why.
And the thing was, like, when the beach ball got confiscated, someone found another one,
and that one, the biggest roar in the crowd.
The beach ball got a bigger pop than people in the freaking ring.
Yeah.
And I stand by the fact that that's one of the hottest crowds I've ever been a part of.
Yeah.
If not the hottest crowd I've ever been a part of.
No, the best, the best, the best crowd I ever had been a part of was WrestleMania 25.
Houston.
In Reliant.
Mm-hm.
Undertaker HBK1.
You have.
One of the greatest WrestleMania matches in history.
That was the greatest match I've ever seen.
I remember where I was watching that.
I was there.
I know you were there.
And you couldn't really see it on the DVD when I watched it back.
But you literally had 85,000 people going Undertaker HBK literally, literally Undertaker.
But I want to thank you Don for saying WrestleMania 25 and not the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania
25.
I want to thank you for saying that correctly.
Yeah.
Because for about a year I had to melt down because WrestleMania 25 is not the 25th anniversary.
That would be WrestleMania 26.
Yeah.
It was just WrestleMania 25.
I mean, that whole crowd, every near fall, that was the best match I've ever seen live
or on TV ever.
And the next match was the Triple H Orton for the title.
People were sat down the whole time.
They were warned.
Yeah.
You know, I mean.
Those, those two HBK taker matches are two of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I put that up there with Savage, Savage Steamboat, WrestleMania 3, Intercontinental
title, which for years is my favorite WrestleMania match of all time.
Yeah.
HBK hit a man in Stomacol.
Mm-hm.
It's up there.
Easily.
Yeah.
I mean, it's just the Iron Man match.
Yeah.
I mean, there's just, you know, yeah, I agree with you.
And at some point, I have to have you take that one home so you can watch that match specifically.
Sean was really, had really, he had just gotten saved.
So, so face is still a big part of him, but it was really, really a big part of him.
He came down from the ceiling, undertaker came up from beneath.
It was presented amazingly.
It was an amazing match and Don's right.
I mean, I felt bad for whoever had to follow that match, which ended up being Triple H and
Orton because it just sucked the life out of the room because people were just exhausted.
Yeah.
The emotional roller coaster that that match was and then they did it again the next year.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
It was, it's insane.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The crowd literally 85,000 people.
Well, while we're talking about crowds, I want to go back a little bit.
Um, I meant to do this during, during music talk.
Went to a concert Thursday night.
Another one.
I went to three concerts in eight days.
Eight days.
I don't know if I'm in my 20s again.
I don't know what's going on.
But last Saturday, I went to Nickelback.
Last night was Gobo's, but last Thursday night, I was fortunate enough to go to the
American Airlines Center and, uh, see the Lionel Richie Mariah Carey show how was
Lionel Richie?
We're going to get there.
Okay.
First of all, shout outs.
First of all to, uh, vet ticks for, for dropping those tickets and also to some of my
favorite people in the entire world, Phil and Shannon Mar, who thought enough of me to
say, Hey, we're going to go, do you want to go?
Let's just say those tickets, I'll tell you guys how much it was off the year, because
if I say it on the air, it's going to stop the whole show.
We were sitting up in the uppers, uppers, the 300s.
Still fine.
We were, we were audience right.
Uh, there was a young man, and I can't remember his name off hand, uh, a, a Texas gospel
artist that opened, did about half an hour, did a great job, big fan, Mariah.
Oh, my, Mariah Carey, I have crushed on for 27 years now.
I remember when the first album came out, took the world by storm.
She didn't even tour till her third album, which I thought was a pretty interesting marketing
employee.
That was 27 years ago.
To say Mariahs lost a step, you could say that.
To say that I don't regret seeing her, let me just say that.
I don't regret seeing her because she's one of those artists that's on my bucket list,
and I got to see her live, uh, it was a rough deal.
She did, she did a cover of Love Hangover, which she worked as a medley into heartbreaker
with the same melody line, which was kind of weird for me.
They opened, um, I know what you want, which is her and Busta, as like if Busta Rhymes
comes walking out here, I'm gonna lose my mind because baby, if you give it to me, I give
it to you.
He was on the video, she was singing along with it, but I'm like, it's more of a Busta
song than her song, and this is kind of weird for me.
I have nothing to base this on, except what I saw.
Maybe this is her all the time.
I don't know.
First of all, she's got a guy, and his entire job is to walk her back and forth from
the stage.
He wears a suit and he had a cowboy hat, and that was the whole bit.
God bless you, sir.
In those shoes and backstage and wires, it's probably a safety security thing than anything.
She was not very mobile at all.
Right.
Three costume changes in an hour.
She did, the only song she did off the first album was Vision of Love, which she got
through.
God bless you.
She did nothing off the second album, nothing off of emotions.
When she went to go do my all, this is the intro, and I'm not exaggerating this.
I want to do this next song for my babies, and I want it in to come out with me, but
they want to stay home, and I was like, it's cool, it's rock and roll.
I'm not kidding you.
My heart sunk in my chest.
Did anyone take any blood for chemical testing?
I don't know.
But again, I don't regret it.
It's been 27 years.
You can't hold that kind of, and she hit the high notes a couple of times.
She did the whole putter finger in her ear thing, which did make it, because you get
mongers in your ears, I don't know how that's working.
But trailer ends is still with her in the band.
They did not do, I'll be there, very strange.
They with another one of the guys did one sweet day.
But you know, it was serviceable.
Did she lip sync like I knew your Zeebe?
No, not that I could tell.
Lionel Richie blew the roof off the joint.
He played an hour and a half, and that did happen.
There was dancing on the ceiling.
My only thing with Lionel Richie, again, been a fan for 45 years now.
His mic tech has the hardest job in music.
Because Lionel, and I know this is an audio medium, so I'm going to kind of walk you guys
through this.
He was holding the mic at naval level when he was singing.
So like put your fist over your naval, and that's where the bottom of the microphone was.
And this wasn't like a Bob Barker price is right, five foot microphone.
This was a standard wire I was mic.
Like this here.
Like we use this suit.
Like you guys are using in the studio.
Like for those that don't know your belly button and naval or interchangeable.
That's true.
So think about holding that microphone at that point, and trying to sing and having people
hear you.
Like me talking right.
So I'm sure there were people in the arena that were like, I can't hear them.
And it's like, no, I don't think you understand because if the tech pulls it up, when he finally
does put the mic up to his mouth, which he did when he was talking, or if he was at the
piano, it would have fed back.
Like Lionel, you've been in this game almost as long as I've been alive.
Let's get a handle on this.
Now I will say this.
He did some deep cuts, deep comedor's cuts.
He started with easy, which I thought was a bold move, and it worked.
He told some really cool stories in between the songs, because at one point, it didn't
get easy on the new baby driver soundtrack.
That may be one of the reasons it's world wide, that sounds world wide.
Right.
It's world wide, but it's current again, having been on the sound list of a movie.
Well, there were two kids in the front row.
He goes, how old are they?
And then ladies said they're seven and nine.
He said, I am not singing another note until we get a camera on seven and nine.
Put those kids up on it because he had a big video wall.
He goes, first of all, I'm so glad you're here.
Because what that means is I'm going to have a career until I'm 96, which I thought
was great.
He rolled out the hips, did some deep comedor's cuts, he did fire, which I thought was great.
They did brick house for about 15 minutes.
But when he did hello, they dropped a mirror ball down from the ceiling and it lit the
whole arena and people went crazy.
Did we are the world?
There was a bit about how many of his friends he's lost in the last two years alone and
rattled off Michael Jackson and Prince and Maurice White.
And so he said, you know, we just passed the 30th anniversary of We Are the World.
And so he did, we did the first verse and he just had the whole crowd sing the chorus
over and over.
And it was an amazing moment.
Dancing on the ceiling, the lights were going crazy.
Sixty, he's 68 now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Better part of 70.
Sixty.
The piano actually was on a lift so it came up from underneath.
Say you say me was amazing from a lighting standpoint.
It looked incredible.
Great band.
I mean, it was a really good show.
And I'm thankful that Phil and Shannon brought me with him because they could have just
made it a date.
But you know what, let's call Rob and have it made it to the arena.
It was a lot of fun.
I don't regret it.
Except getting home really late.
So Mariah was just kind of contested to get over.
I never felt like we've got to move this thing on, but I was upset.
The only thing that upset me was I really, because she, remember, she did a version of
Endless Love with Luther Vandros, which is Phil and Shannon's wedding song.
I'm like, she's here, never came back up.
That was the one song that they didn't do and I was kind of bummed out for them, but
I kind of, I'm not sure that she could have gotten through it.
I would have liked to have heard my destiny or love, oh, love, but that's just me.
But he did, he did sail on, which I've always said one of the most beautiful, go-pound
sand songs in the history of man.
Great show.
No, my absolute great show.
Now, do you think Mariah is there just for the check or she, because here's the thing.
They both have residencies in Vegas.
You got to look at this with Lionel Richie, okay?
Someone like him, he has the Beach Boys, these people that have been in the career for
40 years.
How many times does he perform, say, you say me?
How many times does he perform, hello, with the touring for 40 years?
Did he play like, hello, I've been doing this for 40 years?
No, like, it was a great show.
He was a great show.
So he's one of those that's out there to play, because he loves it.
And he, no matter how many times, he came out and he was like, all right, I want you to
look at the pool next to you.
I want you to go around you.
I want you to look at people in front of you.
If I do this right, those are the voices you're going to hear tonight, because I want everybody
singing as loud as they can with every song.
He's an artist.
He's a performer.
Yeah.
And plus, you know, he doesn't really have the tour.
You think about the songwriting deals that he's got.
Yeah.
No, Kenny Rogers lady, okay?
This is a guy that's got skills and he's got skins on the wall.
I think he really is doing this because he's had this Vegas residency and he realized
that not everybody can get, no, hey, get to big Vegas.
Be afforded.
And we'll talk about that off air.
But it's, it was a great show.
It was a really great show.
I had a blast.
I wasn't paying $40 for a t-shirt, but I had a blast.
Now, did you, oh, yeah, yeah, so you felt satisfied with it.
I did?
Yeah.
No, was that the first time you summer, right?
That's the first time I've ever seen Mariah got her checked off the bucket list.
See, that was my, that, you know, I've seen some great concerts.
My biggest disappointment ever.
And I love the guy to death as an artist and as a human being and everything.
What is the boss?
Springsteen.
Get the story.
I'm in Pittsburgh.
The summer of 84 born in the USA comes out.
He, what the East Street Band, and I'm in town that night, plays three River Stadium.
My dad tried getting tickets and barely, we weren't able to go.
This couldn't take out a second mortgage on the house, but no blue seats.
Yeah.
So 20 years later, they finally reunite.
East Street Band.
Yep.
The rising, great album.
And they're playing that reunion arena.
God rest it.
Yeah.
And I'm, oh my god.
This is it.
This is, I'm probably going to hear something off that album because that was the tour of
the album.
They played, he played that whole album, which I would come up born in the USA.
Yeah.
Okay.
That's when I really got to know Springsteen.
I think it's, I think it's a blanket statement for most people.
Yeah.
Cast 13 at the time.
That's when I really got to know him.
1985, 80, 45.
During that show, he did not play one song off that album.
Really?
I was like, you had, when the lights went on, I'm, I'm was cursing.
Wow.
I mean, that was, I'm like, I'm like, this is 20 years in the making.
Let me play devil's advocate on that for you.
Yeah.
Because when you're looking at a group like Springsteen or you two or REM or, you know,
Rhino Richie, Neil Diamond, like, with that body of work, yeah.
Springsteen can play three albums or three hours.
And to put together a playlist, because they, I've, I've read many reports that say to play
in Springsteen's band, you pretty much have to know every song ever recorded.
And I understand.
Because right in the middle of the show, he could go, do jailhouse rock and E.
Okay.
And he does this set list right before the show each night.
I saw a thing, but it's still on the fly.
He'll still do it on the fly on stage.
But here's the thing.
But I agree with you.
You still have to roll out the hits at some point.
And I think you have to do born in the USA.
You have to do glory days.
And he didn't.
And that's that, that's surprising.
He played, of course, born to run stuff like that.
Well, born to run.
Yeah.
The law.
But the thing is, it's like, he played a lot of songs that I didn't remember.
They were like, not even beat tracks.
But he likes to do that though.
And it's just like, you played a bunch of songs that I, this is the first time I ever heard them.
And you played something of the album that got you as the boss.
Well, it's like I said about my career.
She played one song off the first album.
No songs off the second album.
Most of the stuff that she did was like off the emancipation of Mimi.
Did a couple of songs off butterfly.
She didn't do a lot of the older stuff.
And for some artists, they just don't feel like they're at that point in their career anymore.
For me, you got to roll out the hits.
But we don't have to play piano, man.
You know, Phil has to do in the air tonight.
But some artists just don't see it that way.
There was a time where Madonna, she went on tour.
And she's like, I'm not playing anything I recorded before 1992.
You're out of your mind.
Who's the Eagles?
Who's the guy on?
Don Henley?
Yeah.
No, no.
I'll take it to one minute at the very end.
Oh, Timothy B. Schmitt?
Yeah.
When they went on that tour, the revival tour.
You know how the hell freezes over?
He got to the point.
He goes, I don't want to play it.
I'm tired of playing that song.
And Clint Fry said, there are some people here.
This is the first time they've seen this.
And they want to hear that song.
And as an artist, you have to understand that.
That no matter how many times you've played a song,
there's somebody in that room that has never gotten to see it.
And that's what they're there for.
So you have to know what are the hits?
What are the things that the people want to hear?
Whether you want to play them or not is irrelevant.
I mean, you think some of the Beach Boys are tired to go
and after 50-some-odd years ago and everybody's gone surf.
You know, I mean, there's, you know, but that's the deal.
Yeah.
No, I'm right there with you.
Yeah.
And, you know, as someone who is an artist and.
Be staying by the channel.
GraceDescending.com.
That's all I'm saying.
There might be some stuff coming very, very soon from the boys.
Remember my interview with Ted?
He said, every show is the most important to show them.
Yeah.
Every time you take that stage is the most important thing you will do.
Because there's somebody in that room that's going to become a fan of yours.
There's somebody in that room that's going to be impacted by what you do.
And you may never know it.
You may never meet them.
You may never know anything about them.
But somebody in that room is going to be impacted by what you do.
And that's going to carry them for the rest of their lives.
There's some artists that go out and play.
And there's some artists that go out and perform.
Play.
Yeah.
Some play the show, some perform.
Yeah.
And for me, I need that energy.
I need to, I feed off the energy of the people in the room.
Yeah.
So when I'm out there and my ears are sweating because it's so hot on that stage
because that happens.
You just, you put yourself in that mind frame of, you know what?
I got to throw the switch.
And it's like, you've talked about it on the show that when people meet me
and quote unquote real life, a lot of times I get, dude, are you okay?
And it's like, you don't understand that there's my Batman side
and there's my Bruce Wayne side.
When I'm on stage, I'm still the same guy, but it's just me cranked up to 11.
And nobody, and I mean nobody can hold up that level of energy.
All the time.
So when I'm not on stage or I'm not doing the show, I am fairly mellow
because if nothing else, I'm recharging.
Exactly.
And so, but you, as an artist, you have to understand that difference too.
That when I'm on that stage, I have to be this bigger-than-life version of myself
because I'm conveying a message that this is trying to convey.
When the mic gets on.
Right now.
When the mic turns on, I have to be on.
It doesn't matter what I've got going on.
It doesn't matter if I'm dragging butt.
When the mics come on, there is an expectation from an audience
of what they need out of you based on what you've given them before.
And a lot of artists that have been around a while
and they just are like, you know what, I'm going to get paid regardless of what I do.
They need to relearn that.
Because people that go out and play like Axel Rose.
They've got people that go live.
Oh my god, he's so bad-life.
They've got people who play like Lionel Richie.
Yeah.
And he came out and had a great time.
And told some amazing stories.
Yeah.
And, you know, we were laughing.
And it took me back to middle school.
Yeah.
Because that's the power of music.
You can hear a song and it could not only take you to a specific place in time.
There are sometimes that you can smell certain smells that you had from that time because of music.
And a real good artist gets that and knows it and lives it every day.
Because it's an honest to god, honor, and a privilege to be able to do that.
And more people need to understand that in my personal opinion.
That's like everything.
Like people who play in a major league baseball.
There are 10,000 people love to have your spot right now.
So don't complain about playing an 1060 games.
Absolutely.
I mean, as you get older, that can wear on you.
Totally not going to debate that.
But you still get to do it.
You appreciate it.
Yeah.
It's...
Especially for what tickets are costing now.
Yeah.
I mean, you want to go to a hockey game.
Oh.
You better take out a small business loan just to take your family.
And that's just to get in the door.
So a lot of people, in some cases, are breaking the bank just to see you do what you do.
And ticket prices now.
I remember when I...
Total bars.
Yeah.
In 1995, I saw a Metallic is 20 bucks.
From...
Yeah.
From a row.
It's sad.
I mean, you're doing this for your fans.
But by process of financial elimination, your fans aren't getting to see you.
Or they're putting themselves in a hawk.
They're not paying their mortgage because they want to buy tickets to see you.
Well, you've got to look at it.
You know, when it comes to the prices of the concert, that's where they make their money now.
Yeah.
It ain't because of the internet.
Yeah.
So just to kind of wrap this up, I want to say thank you again to Phil and Shannon for taking me to the show.
We had an amazing time.
I am...
I say every day how truly blessed I am to have people in my life.
Not only that are that awesome, but people that I have known since I was a kid that now live in the same section of the country that I do and get to hang out with.
And we had a blast.
And...
Any time that we can do anything like that, especially with them because I'm such huge fans of them and the kids.
And I'm already looking forward to October because they're youngest.
We're going to have Robin Maddie's weekend of fun part two and Stranger Things drops because that's what we did last year because they went out of town.
So I house sad and we burn through Stranger Things in a weekend.
So she and I are going to do that again for sure.
And she's already told them I'm kicking you out of the house because Robin and I are having Robin Maddie's weekend of fun.
So we may... I don't know.
We may end up doing that here.
It is awesome.
Very excited.
Maddie is about to be a senior, which is absolutely blowing my mind.
All right.
That being said, let's get into movie talk.
Don had to step out for just a moment.
So let me get to where I need to be.
You are listening to the Clubhouse podcast.
Got a couple of cool things coming up this week.
I don't want to let the cat out of the bag.
But we've got two great shows that may be coming your way by the end of the week.
There is a possibility that we will be expanding our spotlight series this week for two interviews that I've been trying to lock down for a couple of months.
And I think I've got them locked down.
So one of them is kind of self-serving because it's going to wrap itself back around on itself.
And I don't want to give it away.
But there's one thing that one of the guests we're going to have in...
I'm hoping this week is a very close friend of the show.
We've talked about him before.
Jason B.
Who is the writer, director, producer, star.
I believe he catered it and drove of Donovan.
And we're going to have...
He and I have been trying to get our schedules worked out.
I think we're going to get it done this week.
Also this week, we have it locked down for Friday night.
I'm going to go ahead and give it away.
I don't care. It's my show.
James Venhouse, writer of Night Owl Society, is coming in Friday night.
And I'm going to sit down and have a conversation with him.
Now that all three issues are out, they're getting ready to release the trade paperback.
So we're going to talk about how his life has changed since Night Owl Society.
As it gets into the trade, he's done a bunch of shows and things about that and what's coming next for him.
We talked about that recently and our other...
We had a press event with him in our other Spotlight series.
So check that out as well.
A great, really great episode and we're looking forward to having him back in the studio.
Actually in the studio for the first time, but I'll back on the show later this week.
So be on the lookout for that.
All right, let's talk box office number, shall we?
Dropping out of the top 10 this week, wonder a woman finally drops out.
But to intend to 13 another $2.4 million, 10 weeks,
it is less than $500,000 away from $400 million domestic.
Nice.
And we're going to talk about her in just a minute.
Also dropping out of the top 10 after three weeks,
Valerian and the city of a thousand planets.
I'm not surprised.
Well, I'm surprised at last.
Does the word nose dive mean anything to you?
It did $2.4 million in three weeks.
It made $36.1 million.
That's it.
What's the budget?
Budget?
I'm just saying, I'm like, I'm...
And that's still better than it did foreign.
It's done less than $34.
Budget on this?
$177.3 million.
Our guests are right at the street, so we'll be on the lookout.
They're not here yet, so don't worry.
Yeah, this thing took a bath.
Baby driver also drops out of the top 10 this week.
Drops from 9 to 11, $2.5 million.
Six weeks, $97 million.
$34 million budget.
Talking to very close friend of the show,
Heather Foam in the other night.
And when Bama Polusa comes down,
I think I'm going to take her to go see it,
because I think a movie she's going to dig.
David's just texting me.
So you could tell him that you're on the air.
Yeah.
Let's see, despicable me.
Drops from 7 to 10 this week.
So give me me $3.5 million, $3 million, $6 weeks, $240.8 million.
Nice.
I loved this movie.
I still need to go see it.
Charlotte and I went a couple of weeks ago,
because we have seen every one of those films,
including minions in the theater together.
You know, I go, this is the thing that I do with my sister.
And the invitation was open for others to join.
I could have joined, but I chose not to,
but you have your sister ties.
Yes, me and my sister need to spend time together sometimes.
And we enjoyed very, very much.
And I will own it when it comes out of Blu-ray.
We're for the plan of the eight.
Drops from sixth place to ninth place this week.
$6 million, $4 weeks, $130.3 million, $150 budget.
It's going to make its money.
I thought I did like it.
I have not seen it yet.
I don't need to.
Detroit jumps from 16 to 8 as it goes into wide release this week,
or as we like to call that iTunes exclusive 30307.
You can check out our thoughts on that.
It makes $7.3 million, $2 weeks, $7.8 million, $34 million,
$3 million budget, but it also added 3,000 theaters.
So we'll probably have a better view on how that's going to do next week.
Atomic blonde drops from 4 to 7 this week, $8.3 million,
$2 weeks, $34.2 million, $30 million budget.
I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this film.
I still want to say it.
It is on my list.
I will be seeing it.
Spider-Man Homecoming drops from 5 to 6 this week,
another $8.8 million, $5 weeks just under $300 million on a $175 million budget.
But if you go by the rule of two, which if you add in all the marketing,
it's still, I mean, of course, globally, it's already in the red.
Kidnap.
That debut is in fifth place.
$10.2 million on a $21 million budget.
Or as we like to call it, iTunes Exclusive 308.
25 minutes since 25 minutes for a reason.
Yeah, yeah.
Just go listen to the iTunes.
Onster!
Boy, girls' trip drops from the bronze medal to fourth place this week, $11.4 million,
$3 weeks, $85.4 million.
The emoji movie drops from silver to bronze, $12.4 million, $2 weeks, $49.5 million,
$50 million budget.
And Ron Tomatoes has it at 6%.
Oh, it's gone up 6%.
At one point, it was at zero.
Was it?
Okay.
Uh, Done Kirk drops from gold to silver this week, $17.6 million,
$3 weeks, $133.6 million.
I do want to see that one.
It is polarizing people.
I know people that either love this movie or hated this movie.
But Ron Tomatoes, it's up there.
So, and debuting in first place is the dark tower.
$19.5 million.
I can't think of the last time a movie debuted at number one that low.
$16 million budget.
Let's see, I'm hearing mixed on it as well.
What is it?
20% on Rotten Tomatoes right now?
I'm not mistaken.
Last I knew.
20%.
So, I don't know if Steven's still in the chat room or not.
But...
18%.
Oh, it's dropped to 18.
There's a special showing of a Pokemon movie called I Choose You.
I'll be showing in select theaters November 5th and 6th.
It's a big news in the community.
Oh, real quick, the emoji went up to 7%.
Oh, God bless them.
The Pacific Rim sequel, up rising, has been pushed back a month to March 23rd.
Closer to summer.
Makes sense.
Don, are you ready for the Bumblebee Transformer spinoff?
Oh, God, no one at what?
It's added a cast member.
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da!
No!
John Cena will be in the Bumblebee Transformer spinoff.
So, do we have Markey Mark and John from Harry Potter?
So do we have Marky Mark and John from Harry Mark and John Cena in the same film
Bumblebee's in the film. I'm happy
I'm sorry Bumblebee is awesome. They're they're here if you go get the door
Just say it
Ian McShane has joined the reboot of Hellboy
So I'm very excited about okay
Uh Mads Michelson if you remember him he is the bad guy in Dr. Strange. Okay
We talked a couple of weeks ago about Sony doing a Dr. Doom film
His name being bandied about to play Dr. Doom
Really I like him okay, but it's Sony. I'm not Sony Fox. I apologize. No, it's not like Fox. Yeah. I don't know how
How that's gonna go
Our special guests have arrived
They were on mountain time. It's okay. They're early if we were in California
Either one because you're gonna take one and she's gonna take the other
There we go. There's our friends that we've been waiting on for an hour and a half
We pitched you guys
I know
Would you got to step up to the microphone if you're gonna talk
Because we've actually been holding a segment of the show just in case you guys made it
No, no, it's just okay because it's a section of the show that I want to talk about that
I'm very excited to talk about right now. We're in movie talk. So you're good
Just talked about Mads Michelson maybe in in the running to play Dr. Doom
Uh, I'm good with it, but it's Fox. So, you know, I'm very leery
I have we're gonna go back a little bit because only until Jen was back in here as we know the flash movie is apparently going to be called flashpoint and we've already done that once badly
Wonder Woman may be appearing in that film
Yes, there was talk. There's yeah, we're gonna have to do something because that film because this could be a bad thing
Dolph Lundgren is going to be in Creed 2
So Ivan Drago is going to be part of the sequel
Talking to the microphone friend. Okay, now we're gonna talk about who's here. Could you guys have to talk about who you are?
I'm D rich
Fresh off of another con weekend. God bless you guys driving in from the Oklahoma
And you guys are gonna hang out with us because it's almost game of thrones time
So I'm very excited about oh my god, they just need to rename this season everybody goes gangster. That's the name of this season
Everybody goes gangster everybody does
Chewitzell edge of four is in talks to play scar in the Lion King
I'm on board big fan
For those of you that don't know who David and he are there are two of our favorite people in the world and there are conkids
So we always like to make sure they're taking care of when they're in town and she is of D rich cosplay
Is one of the most amazing and kindhearted and fabulous cosplayers out there in the circuit right now. He does all right
I'm just a twitch streamer
You didn't give me a chance and you're the supporting cast though and and David's the arms
I always have to get my little
David works out. He takes care of himself
He's got the arms. It's my little sheep thrill
Uh
There is a Marwan Kenzari is scheduled to play jafar in the Aladdin
I could oh I saw him. Yeah, okay. I spoke of M-A-R-W-A-N-K-E-N-Z-A-R-I
Still out on Will Smith playing the genie
But I just don't know if there's anybody I would even like
They just need to I'm not sure I want that. What a follow him. Yeah, cuz good lord
They just need to overlap him as a cartoon right and it and just
uh
Production has begun on the Antman sequel Antman on the Wasp
Did you see who has been cast to play Janet Van Dine
Not Catherine Zita Jones, which I was very upset about because like that would make sense
Since that's his wife
Michelle Pfeiffer in
Apparently at Comic Con they showed a scene where Paul Rudd and Michael Peña are trying
Are it's a scene from the film where they're explaining to her basically everything in the MCU and apparently it destroyed the room
Nice, which if you know that the dynamic with them in the first one. I'm totally on board and friend of the show
One of our favorite people whenever we do the death and we missed in this year Don
Oh, hey Gutierrez
The man who directed the book of life
Friend of the show he does we missed in this year is very upset
He is doing a Lego film
Called the billion brick race
So I don't know if that's after the space movie he's doing or not
But we're we're huge fans of Jorge
He is an amazing human he brought us Diego Luna last year
And had a great conversation and I don't know what he finds so great about this show that he got he has to do it every year
But we love him and we're okay with it and I love the book of life so much
I kill myself for taking a long as long as I did to see it. So we're happy for Jorge movie new releases this week
Starting with a movie that I will not touch with a 50-foot pole and a bell creation
I
You want that for a Christmas gift? I will beat you with a stick if that comes anywhere near this studio
I know I'm out. I know that's not true. I watch horror movies. I just don't like to be startled
Yeah, I my theory is my theory is I refuse to pay people to try to make me pee on myself. That's my theory
And that's what I'm sticking with
The nut job to nutty by nature you see what they did there don saw it yesterday his review will be up later this week as we can talk about it yet
Movie called the glass castle. This looks really interesting. I know you guys have seen the trailer for this or not
It's Woody Harrelson
It's based off a book which is it is actually one of the Richard Sin reads one books one year
And a friend of the show Matt mungle did direct did interview the director
This past week. I'm sure he's got that up on his website
Uh, let's see
I'm sorry. He interviewed the lady that wrote the book. It's based on a true story
She's a may her story is amazing. She's an amazing woman a young girl comes of age in a dysfunctional family of non-conformist
nomads with a mother who's an eccentric artist and an alcoholic father
Who would stir the children's imaginations with hope as a distraction to their poverty
But yeah, it was it was neat to hear her speak when she came for
Richardson rapes. It was it was the author that he interviewed that thought right and she's amazing
Brie Larson Woody Harrelson Naomi Watts Ella Anderson Max Greenfield all involved in this
Also ingrid goes west
This is a strange film
It's let me make sure I get this right because I don't want to screw this up
It's Aubrey Plaza who you know if Aubrey Plaza's involved you already know there's instability involved
And I like her
In a legit and unhinged social media stalker moves to LA and insulates herself into the life of an Instagram star
Aubrey Plaza Elizabeth Olsen O'Shae Jackson Jr. Wyatt Russell. Yeah, I'm a big fan of the Elizabeth Olsen
That's a scarlet witch. It's all I'm saying
Elizabeth Olsen is the like
Character she plays a character that in that Aubrey Plaza's characters like gone over and she's like obsessed with her
And she pretends to I guess bump into her at some point after following our Instagram and then becomes friends with her
Naturally and also a movie that
Don and I will be screening this probably week after next and we'll talk more about it
It's called good time Jennifer Jason Lee Robert Pattinson or in this
Okay, well, we're gonna watch it one other because it releases it goes limited this week. It's gonna go big later
Movies on DVD and Blu-ray this week the
Goldie Hawn Amy Schumer vehicle snatched this movie was funny. I enjoyed this film. It's fun
And she's great in this she really is yeah, we have fun with that. We know King Arthur legend of the sword the guy Richie film
Are you okay with it?
Okay, we're supposed to get it the exception a movie that was recently came out here that we didn't get to see
So that's available the dinner. I've heard this is very very good. Got a very limited release very intense
Kung Fu yoga
I like Kung Fu. I like yoga
I just saw this. I'm like this is going on a run sheet
I mean does that mean they like Shaolin soccer. I like Shaolin soccer. Oh, it's one of my favorites
It's one of my favorite movies ever
I think that's yeah Jackie Chan's in it. Yeah
Two professors team up to locate a lost treasure and embark on an adventure that takes them from a to beat to betten ice cave to Dubai to a mountain temple in India
I'm in I'm in on this
Yeah, the director rumble on the Bronx and supercars. Yes, I like both of those things
Although still trying to figure out where you found mountains in the Bronx because they filmed it in Toronto, but
The 25th anniversary edition of Fargo this week
So if you want to talk about the prowler getting stuck into snow I used to have and
Snow globe and it was the chipper scene. I believe that you're you're associate into wood chipper
Yeah, the criterion collection does the breaking points in old black and white film this week as well
One quick tech corner note before we get to the reason I'm so glad you guys are here
Well, among there's many many reasons I'm glad you guys are here
Spotify may or may not be coming to Xbox one
There was some leaked pictures this week that there may be Spotify coming to the the Xbox store
That's what we got all right. So D and David are here
They are in town this weekend and have graced us with their presence
Which we always love that when they're here
But they were here for the let's play gaming expel. Yes happening
Yes, it was great
This was in Irving. This is something they've been last year was in Plano. They moved it to Irving this year
But what I want to talk about uh, let me get the P.O.I. Music cup
Because P.O.I. stands for person of interest
It is a section of this show we do where we talk about a person or an entity and we debate their greatness or lack thereof
So
What I wanted to ask you about because you guys do quite a bit of these things now
These these these are conventions are kind of ingrained into who you are now
They pretty much are as as individuals as a couple
I was there when they got engaged
Um, I kind of facilitated it
But
If did I read correctly this past week that you're going international
Not Japan Japan. Oh, you said Japan. I think Japan is I said sand Japan. So San Antonio
However, we did get a very gracious offer a friend of ours move to Japan. He is a teacher and um, he is at the
International cosplay festival right now the world summit the world summit very nice
And he said next year if we could make it there we could stay with him
You make it there you can make it anywhere and I was pretty excited about it
So so
So if you've been out there and you've seen cosplay and you've seen lady dearest
Yes, it is that lady de rich who we are so proud of what you guys are doing, but I want to talk about
The difference between what you did this weekend being more of a video game expo versus a normal
I like this erotic I think it's a normal kind but a a a run of the mill style convention like how did
I wanted you guys to kind of compare and contrast your experiences because you guys do it
It's not just cons that you do like you do different kinds of gatherings
And I was kind of because I wanted to make it out, but Bank of America said otherwise
of
Just kind of wondering if you guys would compare and contrast a little bit
How this experience was would be versus a Dallas Comic Con or some of the stuff
You've done in Oklahoma or San Antonio or Austin things of that nature
So it was at the
Irving conventions which is right by my office which we have quite the disastrous love hay relationship with earth
Irving conventions and everybody does
But all the escalators were working good news and all the construction the lovely construction it was all
They're opening an entire
Entertainment complex with a ample theater and there's gonna be an Alamo draft house over there and all kinds of stuff
So we went they had it set up pretty well
Um, I think we're having some growing pains because they've never been in an area this big before
Yeah, because it was at the Plano Center last year which is not a very large building
It's a good size building, but it's not the Irving convention center from what I heard. I overheard some juicy
Tickets as you do out of wrist bands. Oh dear while they were there and they had like a lot of wrist bands
That's a good problem
So they had to like figure something out because people were still coming in so I mean that's
How to run over the Costco and get some tickets. I really enjoyed the gaming expo. I am not
Really a video gamer as much as good sir
The man who cohabitates your home about pc
Yes
And some friends of the show were there
That friend actually I would say friends of ours because people were there before one up creative mind frame
I saw he was there red beard tv was there red beard
Yeah, because he had another friend of the show tech force. Yeah, tech force was there. He was there's he is going to make me a song
Like he's amazing. I got one of his I got one of his albums in the other room
Roxas studios was pro Shane from Roxas studios. I didn't see Shane a single time. I was there. Is there today?
Okay, Shane Shane's one of those guys at a show that yeah, if you ever see Roxas studio stuff, he does an amazing work
Oh, yeah, I've got another friend of the show
Edit some stuff on my website
But um, it was really good. It was set up really well um
It's just just video games at this thing. Yeah, that's called the that's play gaming expo super intense on the super smash brothers
Let me tell you what those people do not play around
They were doing the it was though. It's called a low tier city five super smash brothers. Okay
We you editions of the brawl version of the game
Tournament and they had people from
International professional players
All over our nation and local
Coming to the tournament and it was streamed on twitch. There were like I think 2000 plus viewers watching it was pretty pretty big deal, but
You know what you asked earlier was how this compares. Yeah, how does it compare to like a normal more of a a
It comic-connery or some kind of a sci-fi
Everybody's talking to each other
And sitting down and going oh and like this and that and and it's just it's a completely different
Did it feel like more of a community?
Yes, yeah, I mean I had a great time like there there was a lot going on
But I think it was a rough time for some of the regular vendors
They're also in the same games because
You know what I mean like I talked to a couple of them a lot of them are ones. I see it all of the cons because it's their thing
It's what they do and I was well when we said like you're our con kids like the cons it is a family of people and
We all see each other and you know unfortunately a lot of times the only way to see is that when it happens
So when we say it's a con family it really is like there are certain people
I know that when I go to a show here that I know I need to see yeah, you know
So did it does was there a lot of carryover from that to here?
Well, I feel like in this everybody loves the games whenever they go to a gaming expo
Whereas a regular con you have all these different fandoms
Yeah, that was good. I was gonna ask too is is there that division like you have at a comic con
I don't really think there was because I saw a lot of people just like trying new things and
Yeah, like
Space invaders like the original get right upon it. It's yours is yours is a little bit more sensitive. So talk right into it
Yes
Arcade machine it was it was like you could see the wear and tear on it cool
Because see I love especially, you know you guys remember from my birthday this year we went to the arcade that over there in Arlington
I love the old stuff. I can't play the new stuff. There's too many buttons
Like if it's not if I don't have a gun in my hand at the screen or if I'm not playing pinball I am
I am useless
So did you did you feel like you had more traffic here versus another con or was it kind of six or one half it doesn't have the other
You can only go in one door talk right into it get right upon it like you're gonna eat it
It's smart that they did it that way because
Yeah, you had forced to go through all of the vendors to get to the gaming okay in the back
I should have to think what happened to those vendors that they had not said it that way right
Because once you got back to that back you weren't leaving
Like unless you had something to do you weren't leaving because it was just like a mind-blowing
Colossal amount of different things that you could do they had the pinball machines they had the old school
Gaving setup they had like 200
box
Gaming consoles that out for people to do it was
Do you feel that it was a better for what it was was it a better value for people to go to than it would be in a different kind of a con
Oh, yes, because most of everything there is free you're not
And if you go to regular con you're gonna spend money to stand in line
Right right this you could stand in line
But it's also entertaining you're watching people play games or sharing people on
Was there you might you guys might have to share a microphone. I think yours is getting jacked up
Um share share it with hers because I hers. I've got it hooked up differently and it's being moody on me
Um was there
Yeah, no you're you're gonna share yours because hers is being funky on me. I got to figure it out
Was there were there any downsides to this weekend?
Yes
Okay, so so talk about let's talk now because we've talked about the good stuff
Let's talk about what maybe I don't want to say the best of it. What could have been done better?
What could have been done better? It was pretty good organized in some areas
Um, their setup was really good like I said, but
I think that they were stretched a little bit thin on volunteers and
Upper management that was actually there
Um
Because the one gentleman Christian was pretty much just right around like a chicken. I thought I'll try to put on fires the whole time
Um, and he was doing a great job
But it was not as streamlined as it could have been okay with as much as they had to offer and all the cool stuff over there
I cannot imagine that if they had just had
Maybe a little more setup someone really micromanaging everything how much better it would have been
So and and I think the vendors had a rough time was this on all three fours
No, it was just on that main entry when you come in that main four okay just in the big room
Yeah, just the big room where they usually put all the vendors for band-aids
So so for somebody that you know doesn't live here that really had to kind of
Take it getting the car and drive to get here
Did you feel it was worth the time? I think it's a I would go but as a one day thing okay
Like I would probably wouldn't get a room and stay up here if you're a smath roller span or retro gaming fan
Yes, but like yeah, if you're more into modern games like holiday and
Overwatching things like that maybe not necessarily as as someone who is a featured person
From that aspect I was
Sort of featured
It didn't work out you had a banner. I'm counting it for two hours
I'm still counting it. I only had a table for two hours. So which was once again they were
having a hard time, you know, so
I think it's a featured person. We were in an excellent spot when we could get our table
Okay, once they really got around to fixing things and taking care of us. They did take care of us. Okay
so
Because it's not like this is your first rodeo. I mean you guys have been doing this for a minute. I mean we've known you
Three years three four years now since the first shindig. Yeah
So, I mean this again, this is not your first go-round you guys have done this and you've done this a lot more than we've gotten to hang out because you guys are going everywhere doing this
And then I've got
Now one of the ones in October is back here if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, it is. Okay
No like when a fan who doesn't really know much about these things
You pay to get in. Mm-hmm. There's a bunch of vendors. Mm-hmm. Then you get to pay as much video games as you want. Yes
In this case, yes, because this is a video game thing under a normal circumstances
Right under normal circumstances where you have celebrities and things you'll have to pay extra if you want to get autographs
And then extra on top of that if you want to get photos and things like that
I'm just talking about this but for something this is where they have all the video games like don't
And this is it but this is also a fairly young show
This is a newer show not all games let you free play the whole time
Yeah, it's only been a couple of years and this is their first time at a large venue
So it's so like how much does it cost to get in for somebody? I think it was
Probably
That's about that's about average for a show then they get to play all day though, right? Yeah, yeah
And you get to come and go all festival. It's like a lot like the pinball festival, but it's more
That was really cool because we didn't even know this was happening. I don't know if everybody knew I think again
Right, was there any celebrities at this time with this one?
Like with the food
Yeah, yeah, this yeah, this kind of thing is gonna be different from a normal con because it's not so
And I always say the high it's where my points are
I hear you so we stayed at the high it and we got there
We came down to like go to the bar and we can hear people playing and we were like
Is that super smash brothers and we went in and one of the rooms behind the bar was set up with a bunch of
They just landed out
Nice
Cool, but again advertising would have helped that because I mean
I knew about it just because I saw flyers at like the movie trading company and places like that and normally when I'm gonna
Guess somewhere I
Investigate everything it has to offer and I try to talk about it
Like bring it up on my page and again that didn't work out this time
But I definitely think their social media presence could have been more informative to help them out because it was already so great
All right
Talk right into it, David. This is okay. This has come from the rest of the conversation
So I'm gonna jump back okay, sure, but it's a two-day con so
Anything that was like you know her getting her table and only having two hours on Saturday
So this was Saturday Sunday, not Friday Saturday, so they could have been like handled Friday right before Saturday and Sunday the busy days
But because there's only a two-day con that happened and then I'll talk of that because
It's so cheap and
There are a lot of the people that they're surprisingly playing these retro games like Smash Brothers a cold school Gamecube Smash Brothers
Our kids in like younger than 20 well a lot of people are saying that Gamecube is still the most popular
Platform that Nintendo's ever done that people are still buying stuff for it
So
That they may not be looking to spend money they have their games they have right they just want to come to play with other people
Yeah, I saw a one-up he actually found a n64 Smash Brothers that he'd been looking for for a long time
He put on Instagram
All right, well, okay, so great. I'm glad you guys were here because I really wanted to hear about this
Let's then get to the list because we have passed the two hour marks. So every so ends with a list. This is no exception
So earlier today after I got home from band practice. I was a little hungry
I mean, I went to grips for lunch and I thought that was gonna hold me over it
So I got to thinking as I was
perusing the fridge
My favorite snack foods
So that's what we're doing today doing Rob's time 10 favorite snack foods number 10
And it this I've always liked these
But I've really become obsessed over them in the last year and I don't know why
Cool range Doritos. I don't know what it is. I think they make them with unicorn tears. I'm not sure
But if the if I could just like grind it up and like use it as a seasoning on my fries. I would do it
I don't know what it is
I would like the old taco flavor when they bring that out every once in a while without taking it off right
Number nine, I have this thing for raw vegetables
If those vegetable trays you get the store and it has a little ranch dip. Oh
Is that what they call that?
I'm not very culture
You don't have to be I studied I studied food. I do like crud it
I you know, but you got to because I'm a big fan of the mushroom
Some mushroom and some broccoli and some cauliflower and some baby carrots
Although I feel bad that the baby carrots never got to grow up
Uh number eight cheese and crackers. I have this thing for cheese and crackers that
I could live on cheese and crackers if I had to define cheese. Are you talking cheddar? Are you talking?
You have to wrap it out of the plastic every time I'm good either way
Okay, whether you get the little thing that you got in the lunchpale when you were seven or if I can just grab some
Yeah, or lunchables or if I can just grab some club crackers
Just some chicken on a biscuit crackers and throw a piece of swish cheese on it get this thing done
Oh
Chicken and a biscuit is a gift from God. That's all I'm saying
I don't know what's with somebody woke up one day said you know what
I'm gonna take some chicken broth powder and put it on a cracker. I would shake their hand
Number seven and this is gonna sound really weird, but green olives
I could sit down with a jar of the green olives with the little black pepper in there. Oh
Trader Joe's has the foil packs of the green man Sonia olives that you can take to go
So it doesn't have to be refrigerated
You can pop it in your backpack
Eat it before you walk into the movie see it or cause you know you're not there's something about gr-
I like black olives don't get me wrong
But there's something about green olives, but I can just sit down while I'm watching TV and just get a fork and here we go
Oh, we're gonna get to that we're gonna get to that
uh number six and this has been the last couple of years more than anything
I am feigning I don't know this because I'm getting older fresh fruit
Like if I can have fresh fruit, I'm a happy cam counselor
It's I can't do strawberries anymore. Okay, which make upsets me
peaches when it's peach season. I'm a happy man
Cherries have to be pitted anything I don't care. It drives me nuts. I like a good like watermelon fresh out of a freezer
Oh
Kiwi I can't do anymore because of the seeds and that makes me sad
Blueberries blueberries. I gotta use them with a fork though because they just get all over my hands
But any kind of fresh fruit, especially like you said really really cold crisp grapes
I don't like my grapes to be chewy like a little bit of crunch to them
Oh, I used to freeze mine and then you suck on them like a hard candy
good time
Number five and I try to have what at least one of these at day and because I've been addicted to these since I was
Need hide to a grasshopper as they say in this state
Deli style dill pickles
If I go to pot belly there is a full pickle coming with me to the table
And I don't know how I don't know what pot belly does different. I need to know who their pickle vendor is
Because their pickles are just they're different from I think that I don't know if they ship them in from another dimension
I don't know how that works, but I need to know
Number four and you can't find these
But I'm a fan of the Cheetos puff
But they used to make Cheetos puff curls
Oh man, I remember that
And those were better because I don't know what it is that's different about those but they would trap the flavor better
When I was a traveling trainer for two years
That would be like when I go to get my groceries at the hotel
There was a bag of those that happened in my hotel room it didn't matter
And now I can't find them
Number three I like sour cream and onion chips, but they got to be rigged
No, I can do I can do any one
They got to be rigged because it holds the flavor better
Number two number two and number one
I might be cheating here, but I don't care. It's my list
French onion dip is one of the greatest things in the world
Especially when you can take the French onion powder mix and you put it in with the sour cream
Oh brother
Don't expect that to make it back to the fridge so I'm telling you
See I I'm kind of ranched out. I don't really anymore because
Yeah, I mean, but the cool rich wheels aren't really like ranch. I don't know what it is about that and number one and
Don is gonna call on a mission for me
He's gonna find out how to get this done
But there's a brand of dip and it's called hell of a good. I've already tried
There is you're gonna do a Greek yogurt dip
Which
But they used to have something called a fiesta salsa dip
Which is
I don't know why they've not brought it back
But it like you would take your your chip and you would dip it in there
And there would be like chunks of salsa in the dip like there'll be little pockets of salsa
And it's just it's heaven and I can't figure out oh I'm in the wrong dog on
I have multiple computers in the studio and I get confused sometimes
Okay, I think we're back now
But it's my favorite thing in the world and I'm gonna go on a one-man crusade and find out why this has not become a thing again
Because they've got like this crappy jalapeno cheddar dip there their french onions good
But you have you can't like you have to eat it in stages because you can't get overloaded really easy
Anything I'm missing
Uh, I always like Cheetos. I don't care regular Cheetos Cheetos are our staple
In my to jerky my grandpa used to make godras. You know what jerky. I did overlook the jerky. I'm a big fan
There's a company called my snacks and they have dried
They've got dried green beans dried onions dried carrots. I think it's the it's the dried mushrooms
I get it in from central market in the tub. It's like a screw top thing, but they have
Shataki mushrooms and
Ted always makes me giggle. They're they're addictive. I'm seven
They're addictive and you do have to be careful because you can overeat them
Anything else so you said the pesto salsa, right? Yep
Now they stop making that I know it makes me sad
You need to get them back on making it again
Don's really good at convincing people
That's right saying
All right that being said
