It is 717 on the east coast, it is 417 on the west coast, it is the 18th of February
in the year of our Lord 2018, season 8, episode 28, 431 times, this voice has welcomed
you to the clubhouse podcast. We appreciate you being with us no matter how you're
here, whether you're listening live on you stream, at least for the time being, or you
are listening on our archive, or if you're just checking us out on your favorite podcast
app, we're just glad you're here. Welcome. My name is Rob I am the executive producer of
the clubhouse podcast and we're going to take just a minute I'm going to bring the music
down because before we get into this thing, I want to say a couple of things. This past
week has been nothing short of insanity and we would be remiss and we don't deal with
politics on this show so understand going into this that this is not going to be a political
discussion. It's not even going to be a discussion. This is just me saying a couple of things
and then we'll get this thing back on track. If you follow me on social media, I said something
the other day about Marley Stelman Douglass High School. Stelman Douglass High School
opened in my district, my senior year in high school so really for us, they didn't have
a senior class that first year but we knew who they were. They knew who we were. It was a friendly
rivalry to say it and the classes that came behind me that that rivalry would grow because
they weren't a rival to us as much but we still acknowledge who they were. I still have
friends that live and work and have kids that go to that high school and my heart sank
in my chest and I've been in kind of a funk ever since. When something hits this closely
to you where you live, literally my heart and my soul and my entire being go out to the
victims and the families and the survivors. There's more than one person on this show
in this room right now that has been directly affected by what happened there and whether
it's at Marjorie Stelman Douglass High School or anywhere in this country, anywhere in
this world, what our children have to deal with is something that we as young people never
imagined and no matter what the reasoning is, no matter what side of the aisle you stand
up, I don't care. I just don't care. You send your thoughts and everything you have
to these families. Don't use it as a platform for whatever your political views are, use
them and feel for the people affected by this. That's all I'm saying on the deal because
again we don't talk politics on the show. We're not going to debate it. I don't care who
you are. I don't care where you came from. I don't care who your mom in them is. No
matter where this happens, whether it's in your backyard or on the other side of the
planet, it affects real people every day. I hope that we can find the day where we can
get back to that place as one people, one existence, one love, one peace, which is why my
post said, hashtag teach your children well. Yes, it's a song, lyric, but it also should
be a way of life. We need to get back to that place. So we dedicate tonight's show to
the families and the students and the teachers and the faculty and the administration and
everyone that's been affected not only by this particular tragedy but any tragedy of
its ilk we dedicate tonight's show to you. This next part is going to be tough. There's
also another side to tonight's show. When I was 13, I met a dude and that dude was kind
of walking the same path of life that I was walking at the time. We've made no bones
on the show about my faith. It's something that's very personal to me and it's something
that one person has walked with me from that from the day my faith became personal until
today. He is my best friend in the entire world. He was the best man in my wedding. I was
a co-best man in his, his family is my family. My family is his family. His name is Ricardo
Rincón and his mother passed away last night. She's been sick for a long time and he's been
giving me updates periodically and his wife sent me a message on Instagram last night to
let me know of her passing. We dedicate tonight's show to her memory as well. She was like a
second mom to me. She would always make sure that I was doing what I was supposed to be doing
when we hang out at the house. It's a tough deal. So Rico, you and I talked earlier today and I
told you I wouldn't say anything until I talked to you and he thanked me for that. But if you're
lifted one up tonight, that's my family. And it's just, I know she's better off now. She's not
hurting anymore. She's in a great place. You know, his kids call me Uncle Rob for a reason. So we
dedicate tonight's show to Rico's family and to the groups of people we've talked about. So give
me just a second to recompose myself and then we'll get back to the funny.
All right. Russ is in the chat room. So our chat room's not working again. But Russ, I see you.
Thank you for testing me. All right. Let's get this thing back on the rack on the rail. You know who I
am. Let's go around the room because I ain't by myself because kids we are skating at full strength
tonight for the first time since 1963. In the co-host chair is my co-host and a man who probably
needs to find himself a supercut here in the next few days. Getting a little long in the tooth. He
is Chad. Welcome, sir. Yeah, I washed it and didn't bother to do a thing with it. I just kind of
sat there. Now, unlike the man next to him who is freshly shorn and a man who if it wasn't for the
lady next to him would have the best shirt in the room. Even though he still hasn't had garlic
knots to this day, you a man. He's the official fact checker of this show. You may know him as
fond on go, but his mama name I'm Don Ford. I'm gonna call him Don Ford. Welcome, sir. This didn't
make it. I didn't get a haircut. I got a whole bunch of hairs cut. I was really hoping we could
avoid it. I was really like hair. I didn't say you got a haircut. I said you were freshly shorned
and I said it that way for a reason. But I will say this. My wife is happy. The Fantastic
Faith Ford. We got her new car this week with the tax returns. That's a nice car, too, sir. But
she's really has more safer and that's the big thing is having a great car. It's more safer. Yeah,
and you wonder why I edit your reviews. Isn't that a court? Wouldn't he a corresponded on 60 minutes at
one time? That'd be morally sick. Oh, but I see what she did there. And I was there for you. I
think I was there to catch it. He got the assistant. He got the assistant. As we go around the room,
the lady of the house is back from her trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. She survived it. She got to see
the Eltoning and the Johnning of it all. She is Jen Rome. Welcome back, friend. Good evening,
everyone. And as I said, the Elton John opening song was the something is back. And I guess
that no, we're not taking that there. Okay, because no one, if anybody calls you that, I will punch
them in the face on general principle. Well, that's still I know what the connotation of that song is.
That's why I left it blank for females. And question. Did you win? I did. I was at 76 cents. Hey,
that's a win. That is a win. That is a win. That is a win. That is a win. And finishing out the
days tonight, having to share a mic with a Jen Rome until I upgrade this board. Alex is here. And
did I get you covered, brother? You got me covered. Perfect. But I didn't want to say one little
aspect from here on out. We're focusing on the positive Ashley Kerr, big sister. You are a hero.
Yes. And he means that in almost its literal words. And if you know who she is, yes, he's being
literal. Okay, let's get to the funny, shall we? All right, one correction from last week, we were
talking about the blue apron, which I would have forgotten if the general hadn't reminded me.
Remember, we talked about the cauliflower that was with the French bread pizzas. We had those last
night. Very enjoyable. The cauliflower was the side. They were not on the French bread pizzas. But
let me tell you something. It wasn't just cauliflower kids. It was cauliflower. That was when Jen
made it. It came, this came with it. But it had a little vial of honey that she put in with it when
she made it. Oh, and it was roasted. I'm on, I'm on, I'm on board. Next up, I believe is the
strip-staking potatoes. We have that and we have something else that I don't remember. I am allowed.
Tell them saying, let me close out this other tab that we've got open over here. You have to
forgive us. Usually, I restart the computer before we do the show so I know that the broadcast
computer is still, it hasn't even restarted yet. It is still getting windows ready,
which Don and I dealt with recently, where it was like two hours later and we were still sitting
here. Remember, you and I would do a special edition. Yeah, remember that one. Yeah,
and we look at having a late night. Let's get upgrade from the Apple Mac and I'll tell you what,
you write the check. I'll go buy the piece. I'll write your check, but I'm not clever. I'm just saying.
So, Hank, I can write you a check. Well, kids,
that's her. NASCAR's back. Oh, boy. It is NASCAR Super Bowl day because today was the day
tone of 500. So we always go through and remember, we're not going to be dealing with the points
until April. We've got to let some races get behind us before points really mean anything.
Is that when they start to focus on what the points mean? They never do until the end.
That's the joke. Well, they're starting off fresh. I mean, so one person's five points to the
negative second of the cousin of the eighth of the ninth with their math on the fifth Sunday.
And then you have to take a square root of it. Yeah, exactly. So here's your exactly. Here's your
top 10 finishers. Finish started in 20th and finishing in 10th in the number 47. Chevrolet.
He got 27 points out of the deal. You can order him with a side of fries. The AJ
Oman Dinger. Starting in 20 second and winding up ninth in the number 34 Ford. A name I don't
believe we've ever said because it's Michael McDowell. I loved his work with the Doobie brothers.
But did he do Yomo B? That's all I want to know. One of the greatest lines I've said in
my history. Thank you, Paul Rudd. In eighth place, starting in 13th, winding up in eighth in the
number 31 Chevrolet. Hey, he gets 29 points out of the deal. Ryan. Hello, Newman. Well, Michael,
is he related to my outcome? No, okay. Michael McDowell. No, I was there for you.
You remember that episode of Friends where Joey was doing the fertility study? And he said,
we're not allowed to do any homework if you know what I mean. And Monica said, Joe, we always
know what you mean. That was this moment that just passed. Yeah. God bless you. Starting in the
bronze medal, winding up in seventh, he led a hundred and eighteen laps of this race and he lost.
They call him the stone. At least we do Ryan Blaney. Starting in 16th, winding up in sixth in the
number 21 Ford, he led a lap. And yes, his company does his family does own the hardware company,
Paul Menard. Some of you get that and some of you don't because you don't all live in the
south. Chris Boucher. I got nothing. Are you all right? Maybe it's Boucher. I don't even know.
He started in 21st, winds up in fifth in the number 37 Chevrolet. Joey Lagano starts in fifth,
winds up in fourth in the number 22 Ford. Denny Hamlin. Or should we just call him Denny Moons over
my hamlin starts out in the silver medal, winds up in the bronze medal. He led 22 laps. Don't
she usually say what the side of eggs on a hamlin. But the thing that it comes with eggs.
Yeah, okay. That's like scrambled eggs. I totally screwed that reference up. But no, it's a nice
call. It's a nice call back and I appreciate you holding me accountable for that. Starting in seventh
place, winding up in the silver medal, Darryl Walsh Jr in the number 43. And then a guy that only
led one lap of the race and it was the most important one because it was the last one.
He is the new sheriff in town literally because Austin Dillon wins in a car on the 20th
anniversary of Dale Earnhardt Jr's passing. He is in the number three Chevrolet that was decked
out the same way respect. That's what I have to say about that. All right, the Daytona 500.
I can't believe it's already time again. That's look at the schedule, shall we people?
Next week, I can get this stupid thing to do what it's supposed to do. Let's see. Next week,
Sunday, February the 25th from the Atlanta Motor Speedway. It is the folds of honor quick trip 500.
The what? The folds of honor quick trip 500. So I folds of honor is probably military.
Yeah, it's a veteran's charity, but quick trip is your corporate. I like quick trip better than
7-Eleven. That's not saying much. I do enjoy the fine work of quick trip. They're always clean.
That breakfast pizza is something else because they don't use their croissants to they they
instead of using like a pizza sauce, it's gravy. You realize that saying it's something else
doesn't quite clarify. Oh, I'm a fan. I'm a and they have a three cheese breakfast burrito that I'm
a big fan. I'm having a gap. But you notice they're always doing. I'm telling you, you think that,
but QT really does good work and it keeps the stores clean. Yes, they do. You can't tell the
difference between store A, B, or C when you go inside. They always look the same, but always clean,
which really is the point when you think about. Yeah, exactly. No, I'm a huge fan of the quick.
I don't know which one I like. I don't know if I like but these are quick trip better. I'm paying
a lot. Oh, Bucky's wins that. No, I'm a fan of the loves. Love's is kind of falling off. Are we
ranking truck stops now? Yes, our top 10. I'm doing the list now. Oh, wait, no, wait until
the list tonight. I got a doozy for you kids tonight. So while we're at it, I want to say sheets
is really nice, but it's a bit of an up north. And you know what, take the wawa and go pound sand.
I live or but no, I live where Bucky's is, sir. Bucky's takes wawa to the wood shed.
Let's see, with the loves, I have a family thing. My grandfather week dried past and he'd look at
me in my sister. Can I get a sample? Hmm, tasty. Make sure you're talking right into that thing
because you're not coming through real clear. There we go. With it being the grandfather saying,
can I get a sample? It's kind of a happy memory. So there's a soft spot for that. Back home in
Montana, I'll wait. Have as a couple of general stores with a doubt house on the side. You know,
you know, it's so funny though. It's not like the age jokes with Chad come out of nowhere. Don,
like, cuts it off at the past. Don's just like, you know what? I'm from Hickville and I'm just
going to go there before anybody else can. We always say the best jokes right themselves. That
is true. When the comedy writes itself, it takes a lot of it. All right. This is my one.
All right. Let us get into some NBA talk so we can get this out of the way too. It's the
all-star game. Nobody cares. So at the halfway point ish in the Atlantic division of the eastern
conference, the Brooklyn Nets are terrible. They could double their wins and they'd still be two
games under 500. They've lost seven in a row. They're 23 games back. They're four games ahead of them.
Did you realize that between the Nicks and the Nets, they have lost a combined 15 game straight.
Let that sink in for a minute. And I think the music was perfect for. So the Nicks are nine games
back on the 76ers. Phillies won five in a row. Trust the process. They are eight games back on Boston
who's lost three in a row, but Toronto's now got a what seven game win streak in that division.
I've always liked that the Toronto Raptors thing. Even those kind of different, even with Vince
Carter. The Chicago Bulls in the central division are terrible. They're 20 and 37. They're 14 and a
half back. They are eight games back on the pistons. The pistons are four back on Milawakay.
Milawakay is a half back on the Pacers who have won three in a row, but Cleveland's won four in a row.
Have somehow found a way to get the wheels back on that thing. Well, that's because they just
hired a new team. Yeah, that's true. And in the Southeast division, the Atlanta Hawks are terrible.
They could double their win total and still be, you know, five games below 500. They're 16 back.
They've lost two in a row. Not as much as the three in a row lost by Orlando, but they're still
half a game ahead of them. Orlando six games back on Charlotte. Charlotte is five and a half six
ish somewhere back on my beloved heat. My beloved heater now three and a half back on the Washington
Wizards. In the Western conference, sir, do you really want to go over these things?
Your team's bad. In the Pacific division, Fulanex is 18 and 41. They're 26 and a half back. They've
lost seven in a row. They are a game back on Sacramento. Sacramento is five back on the Lakers who
have lost three in a row. Wow. Trade deadline. Did you guys a lot of good? There's seven and a half
back on the key bears and the Clippers are 13 back on Golden State. In the Southwest division,
your Dallas Mavericks are in a little thing we like to call the toilet. You're 26 and a half
back, but you're still a game back on Memphis who's lost seven in a row. Memphis is 12 and a half
back on New Orleans, New Orleans. Fly back again. They're three back on San Antonio, San Antonio, now 10
back on Houston. By the way, Houston's one 10 in a row. A lot of people are making a LeBron
noise for Houston now. Really? I'm hearing those rumors. They're out there. And in the Northwest
division, the Utah Jazz two games below 500, but they're four and a half back. The Utah Jazz
and 111 straight kids. They're two games over 500. Oh, yeah. I'm, my dyslexia gets to me sometimes.
They're two back on Portland. Portland is tied with Denver. They're both a half game back on
Oklahoma City, but Oklahoma City's only two games back on Minnesota. So now with that 11-game
win streak, everybody's within five games in the lead. So you got that. That's the only fun division
this entire year. I think what the all start for VA and fun. I like what the Major League
baseball did with the all-star game where it may actually meant something possibly where you're
they're not doing that. I know. I wish they go back to that. I agree with you. I think I think
NBA should do that too. If the winner of the, you know, East West gets the way to Alex for our
gambling information. What's the over under on the all-star game tonight in about 400?
I don't know it off the top of my head, but it's usually around the 280. Yeah, because there's
no defense in the game. Yeah, it's a layup drill. Let's go. No, no, it's the dunk contest without the
contest. Apparently somebody jumped over Kevin Hart last night. Did I read that correctly? Yeah,
that was my grandmother. Oh, okay. Apparently he did one of those new YouTube shows that he's got with
Blake Griffin and that got weird. That was a cricket in the parking lot that jumped over.
Oh, he wanted to get on the center court and get the trophy. Not to be sober. All right,
let's give this some TV headlines. Interesting news coming from the CW. By the way, I am now officially
caught up on all of my shows. I am in the middle of watching the Spielberg documentary. Once I
complete that, I will have no shows out on the DVR for the next three and a half hours. You were
behind me. I know in the next hour and a half because we have a new unsung tonight. That, that
Spielberg documentary debut on my birthday. Yeah. Do you see who's the new season of unsung
stocks starts tonight? No. Silk tonight. Oh, God. Which is also a song by Silk. The current total
line for the old start game. 332 and a half down from an open of 353. Give me the over.
Ah, let's see. So the CW is now going to expand to Sunday nights in the fall. So there are now
going to be six nights a week. Come the fall. Is that look for sir? This is the visual meeting.
It just seems like overkill. By the way, in case we didn't mention earlier, this is episode 431.
But Jeanie Mason or Jeanine Mason is going to be starring in their their rebooting Roswell.
And she's going to be in that. Yeah. CW is doing it. There's a demand for that show to come back.
He knows. They said there was a demand. The CW is doing dynasty. Why not?
I mean, I can almost see them redoing Jericho before Roswell.
Well, they got to break the walls down first. Yeah. I would expect that from this guy to my left.
Hey, he did good on the Austin thing. Did you hear that?
I heard that he and Austin did a podcast. Well, they did each other. Yeah.
What they did. So he showed up on New Japan this week. Oh, he's been cycling through there
for a while. But this was also taped the night after a wrestle kingdom. That's how far behind
New Japan is. Yeah, that was the night of, right? Yes.
James Franco will return for season two of the Duce. Really? Okay. That is happening.
Also, Ray Fisher has joined the cast of True Detective Season 3, Roy Fisher. I'm sorry.
This, this cast just keeps getting bigger. How about air the thing?
And don't let it suck. I'm about to say you saw the bitter taste from, from the last,
what was it? A couple or just? No, it was just season two. Season one was phenomenal.
Season one is some of the best TV I've watched in the last 20 years. Is that all they've done?
They've only done two seasons. Okay, okay. Because they were supposed to do season three,
but season two was so bad. Okay, okay. That they just they, but you know,
not realizing the failure that would be vinyl. That's why they're doing True Detective
Season 3. I hope that's you and me both, brother, because you and I were both
thinking that I don't want you to turn to another Gotham. I can't watch Gotham anymore.
You know, that's like going to be the benchmark I bailed on that show. So you guys know that
my Batman bias is the only thing keeping watching even that as much as I love that.
Now look at me. I love Michael. He's not on anymore. He hasn't been on the last time I watched
they was on spoiler alert and three due to they killed his character last season. Oh boy. So
that's right. Butch became yeah. Butch is Grundy. Bradley Whitford has joined the next season of
the handsmaid's tale. That's getting a lot of hearing really good things on it. I haven't
checked it out. I talked to a couple of people that said, you know, she won the globe. Didn't she?
I believe she did. Yeah, believe it correct on that, sir. I think she won the ME too.
If I'm not mistaken, wouldn't she did. She took both. Okay. Michelle Gomez, who you might know
as Missy from Doctor Who. She is going to be on the new Sabrina show. She's during the cast
and Lucy Davis will be playing and Hilda read that this week. So that's fire it up.
Are you still on board with Empire? Did you bail? Oh no, I'm on board.
Alfre Wooder joining the C joining season four. Well, they still have to finish this one and I'm
really not liking where they're going with this. I mean, is there anybody that hasn't done
that show now? It's like I think I might have done an episode at some point. I'm just saying
Don's raising his hand because this is a visual because you fit the demographics so well.
I mean, I want to I want to do like a binge on it. I mean, I heard so many great things about it.
Chad loves it. I just want to say before I forget again, um,
I said they had a song about Alasso, but he couldn't tell you. Yeah,
was listening to the Bob because I listen to Bob and Tom every day because I'm a VIP podcast
member. That's right. Be jealous. Um, yeah, but boy, I am. Tom did a throwaway line that I really
want to really badly want to adopt as the new model of this show, but I also don't want to rip
off the Bob and Tom show anymore than we already do. And he said, welcome back to the Bob and Tom
show where maturity goes to die. I'm like, you know what, that is our show. That's what we do every
week. Sometimes multiple times than a week. Season four of the Unbreakable Kinney Schmidt is
going to be split in half on Netflix. Part one is going to drop May 30th so that because that's
the day before the deadline for any consideration. And then part two will drop later this year.
Other news for a debut. Well, one more really. Voltron legendary defender season five will
drop March 2nd. That's what the thing I read this week. I mean, they're burning through these
things and I still haven't watched the episode and I blame myself. I know that, uh, what's his name?
The guy that played Glenn on Walking Dead was one of the pilots. Oh, is he? Yeah. And, uh,
Disney has announced Descendants three is coming next year. Dude, that thing is doing business.
It's a new high school musical for them, basically. And we have the new ABC's greatest American hero.
Because you know, it's going to be a female. My name is Hannah Simone. Uh, she is in, uh, East
Indian actress. I know that name. And she will be the new greatest American hero. Believe it or not.
I see what I did. Moving on. Uh, only one, uh, Blue Ray DVD release on TV this week and it's
Dragon Ball super part three. So you got that going for you. Want to remind everybody our next two
episodes are going to be not normal episodes. Less lot normal than they normally do next week is
elimination chamber. I'm sorry, elimination chamber is next week. So we'll be doing our official
unofficial pre show for that. And then two weeks from tonight will be a very special episode.
We're not going to be giving episode messages about drugs or anything. Uh, it will be the one year
full. She has now been on the show long enough for the sun to or the earth to go all the way around
the sun because it will be our Academy Awards pre show. So the general will hit her one year
since joining this lunacy. So I've got the ballots already saved in my computer and we'll be
printing them up and we'll be going through them two weeks from tonight. So then we can all go
into the green room and watch last year. I don't remember. Okay, it wasn't me. Okay. Uh, Hannah
someone's from the new girl. Okay. She's also in killing Gunther. Yep. Which I it's it's on my
docket for tomorrow because tomorrow my plan is I have one errand I have to run because I'm off
tomorrow. I'm watching rub it in killing Gunther and I'm watching work for the plane of the
Ips tomorrow because I have to listen to Fat Man on Batman talk about it. I can't do that till I watch
the movie. Hold on to it as long as you need. By the way, I did listen to the Fat Man on Batman
commentary track for Batman Begins the other night. Greatness. They kind of bagged on it though,
which was a little disappointing because even my wife came into the room and she was like,
do they just hate this movie? I'm like, I think they're just bagging on it because the problem is
you watch Batman Begins and it makes you realize how much more amazing the dark night was and how
much the dark night rises was pretty much set up to fail because nothing was going to be able to follow
that. Yeah. So, but Bernard said it would be interesting that you could the best way to do Batman
Begins would be to watch it as a prequel. Watch dark night and then dark night rises and then
Batman Begins. I'm like, you know what? That's not a bad way to do it. By the way, the broadcast
computer is still waiting to restart. We are now in, we're now entering hour two. So we're
approaching midnight in the garden of good and evil. Thank God I had a backup laptop the broadcast week.
Yeah. So, do we have any iTunes to tape this week? We've got a couple coming.
Business is about to pick up. That's all I'm saying. If you don't know what that means,
we're not telling you until it actually happens. Let's get into POI, shall we? POI stands for
person of interest. It is a segment we do on this show because they're all segments we do on
this show where we take a person or an entity and we debate their greatness or lack they're
of and I got a doozy for you this week. Is that me? Lack thereof. Lack thereof.
Do you have any idea to self-constraint? I have just put on myself in this. There's a humongous
lovely shade of red in your forehead and a humongous vein is bulging from your temple.
But you know what? I got to give credit where credit is to do. The dude knows how to shoot the
wheels off. Let's be real for a minute. And see going personal greatness. I was going to say Nana,
I'm sorry. I wasn't here last week to wish you a happy birthday. So belated happy birthday
to Alex's Nana because she is. And Nana could not have been more excited to hear a
talk about her on the air. So and again, we're looking forward to hearing more from her. She had her
gear on, she did a little video where she had her, by the way, go to go to zazzle.com. Z-A-Z-Z-L-E.com.
Do a search on the clubhouse podcast. We've got all kinds of new stuff for you out there that you
can help us rep the show as a member. You can even get yourself a badge to say you're a member
of the empire. I did that. They have an app. Zazzle has an app. Oh, do they? You could just search
it directly. And also Grace's settings got a store there now too. We sold a guitar pick.
Don't know who, but thank you for whoever bought a guitar pick. So we got that going for us,
which is nice. All right, it's going to POI. I've got a good one for you this week.
Because it's one that I've heard about recently, but I haven't really done a lot of research on.
But it's something that's worth discussing. And it's a little thing called movie pass.
I've had to do some research this week because I've heard people bandy about this thing and I've
heard people extol what's greatness, but I've other people heard people go, this is not a sustainable
business model too. There's no way I would ever do this. So here's what I've gathered. Don,
you know what this is? I heard about it. Okay, so here's what this is. You go to, it has its own
app. Movie pass. And when you register for an account. Yeah. You cost what? $7.99 a month?
Something like that? $5.99 a month somewhere? $8.99 I think is what it is. $7.95.
$7.95. There you go. Okay, okay. You pay $7.95 a month. Okay. You're allowed to use it once per day.
All right. So really, if you're the kind of person that goes to the movies a lot, this could benefit you.
But what you have to do is they send you a pseudo debit card in the mail. Okay.
And so you pull up the app and it shows you the theaters near you. All right. And you pick a theater
and you pick a showtime. See, originally Alex and I were talking about this and we thought you
had to show up in person to buy the tickets right then. You don't have to. You actually reserve your
time and what happens is they put the amount of that ticket on the debit card. You're allowed to
use this once per day. So you could see 30 movies in a month, but it's only good for one person. So
if all of us did it, we'd all have to have our individual memberships. It's not like once per household.
So you go to the theater and you use that card as a debit card to pay for the ticket.
Now to my knowledge, I don't know if it's it's only 2D, no frills, but it's not like you can
pay the difference. They only give you the 2D showings. Right. Because Finney has Finney does this.
Friend of the show Finney has this. Hi, Finney. She's been excellent. So is there a we love Finney?
Is there any block off like not Saturday night or? No, there are no there are no blackout dates,
but it's see any new 2D movie every day even on opening night. Right. So because you're basically
just buying a ticket. Yeah. But again, it's only 2D showings and it's only once per day.
Okay. So you you go see and it would only be for you. So you would have to have one faith would
have to have one and you'd have to book it. So basically go pay $7.95 and you can get 30 movies in
a month. Correct. So if you do it right. So if I wanted to see something tomorrow, I'd book the
thing tomorrow. The day of. And then they are the day of and then they'd say, yeah, here's your ticket
boom go. Now, no, no, you book it. Yeah. They put the money on the debit card. Then you go to the
kiosk and you pay for it with the debit card. Okay. Alex. Yeah. On the app, you pick your movie,
browse what theaters in the area have it and you pick your theater and show time on the app.
And then you show up with your card. And the original business model, it almost didn't happen
because the original business model, it was pretty much a free for all. And AMC said, we ain't doing
it. Now, AMC, arguably the biggest chain in the world. Right. Once they redid the business model
to where the theaters weren't losing any money because they're still getting the money.
They're on board. They're on board. Okay. I was talking to a friend of the show, my former boss,
Brad Zaywell about this the other day. And we just were trying to figure out how is this a sustainable
business model? Because the movies are making the theaters are making money on the popcorn and
the drinks and all that that people buy now. But how is but movie pass, though? How are they making
money? Right. Because I guess they're banking on people not using it more than once or twice a
month. Yeah. Or there's going to be months where somebody doesn't use it at all or families get
them and you don't take everyone. So they're banking on that. They're banking on people forgetting
they have it. It's, you know, the news going to wear off. There's going to be months that people
don't want to see anything. And then maybe down the road is that the theaters and them get together.
Alex has handed up. Okay. It's seven ninety five a month. But there is a nineteen ninety five
processing fee billed annually. Okay. But that's still a year. What I'm saying is there's still
another 20 bucks. Yeah, you would sustain it off of new memberships, I guess. Or the 20 bucks
a month for it. No, 20 bucks a year. That's what I'm saying. A year from the current members.
Right. But you pay that once a year. But you'd have enough people that would get new service every
month. Yeah. Like I was talking to someone who works on this big warehouse real tellers. Uh-huh.
That's where they get their money as an annual membership. They don't make much off the sellers. Yeah.
Okay. Offselling the fruit or the items or the so I guess the question becomes. Are you familiar
with Fandoor? I know the name. Okay. Apparently it's a streaming service. I love him on Game of Thrones.
Close. I'm sorry. Never mind. Uh, apparently they're connected with Fandoor and they'll have
some upsells on streaming services. Oh, okay. Oh, that's I do remember that. Okay. I know that part of
it too. They have like 50,000 movies. But I was a smoothie thing. You can only buy it the day of
is a thing. To my knowledge is you can't buy tickets in advance. You have to buy them the day of.
And so my thing is Alex, you may have to check me on that because there could be like blocked out
movies and stuff. So they're sold out. Yeah. And the thing is I think that it's kind of smart for
the theaters because they probably won't make any any money off of it. Well, they're going to make
the exact same amount of money. Yeah. Because it's going to be an empty seat. But that way people
will still come in and buy the concessions because right. The movie theaters only make the money on
the cassettes. It depends. Okay. You're talking to a guy that worked at the movie theater. It depends
on how long you carry the movie. Yeah. The longer you carry a movie in your theater, the bigger chunk
of the pie you get. For the first two weeks, you make virtually nothing. Yeah. You make pennies
on the dollar. But if you keep it for five, six, seven weeks, you're going to make more money.
But yes, the concessions is pure profit. Yeah. Okay. So according to their own FAQ,
you show up at the theater, browse the movies and show times on the movie pass app,
select which movie and while you're at the theater, your movie pass card will be activated for
30 minutes. So you better do it quick. So you got a 30 minute video. Okay. So you basically are
almost buying it in a real time. Yeah. And once you check in for any theater that does e-ticketing,
so basically all theaters now, it'll just be at the kiosk for you. You don't need to swipe the card.
Fair enough. It's called movie phone. Called movie pass. Moviepass.com. I believe it's the way to talk
movie phone. Thank you for calling movie phone. You chose bad boys too. I always like that guy.
I just hated the way he said, right it all right it all. I'm playing at AMC, the grand 24.
You know what reason I say that is actually I thought for some reason is we were in pre-show.
See what this is sir? See what I found on my desk.
Space. It's my space jam movie ticket stub from November 17, 1996,
when the evening show 6.50. That's how much it costs me to go see space.
Gail. And that right there may be another reason for this business model is to get people back in
the theater. That's a good point. That's an interesting point of you know who would who would versus
who wouldn't. Yeah, because it's like the membership to Netflix or Hulu, but it's getting people
in the theater. And that maybe what's making this business model work with the movie theaters is
it's putting butts in chairs. It's interesting to see that. It's the Columbia House for Movie Goers.
You got 1.5 million subscribers as of January of this year.
And it started off where you'd only get two to three films per month or you could get the unlimited
pass out of higher rate. But now they they changed it all the way down to the 7.95 per month.
So yeah, I'm just I'm typing out the Columbia House for Movie Goers. Yeah, that's a brilliant
piece of comedy right there. You know, I can credit where credit's new. I appreciate that.
All right, so go check it out. We want to know what you guys think about it. Make sure
email us and let us know your thoughts. If you're a member of a movie pastor, are you sitting on
the fence? Are you anti-movie past? Let us know. You can email me anything like that.
Rob at the clubhousepodcast.com. We've got chat at the clubhouse podcast.com. We've got Don at
the clubhousepodcast.com. And I'm not saying that General Alex won't have that in the future.
I'm not committing either way. But we don't right now. Because I'm feeling non-committal today.
All right, let's get into the NHL standings in the Eastern Conference, the Buffalo Sobre's.
They we've played 59 games. That's right. You don't touch your phone. They're 45 points back.
So good luck with all that. But you know, they're they're only six points back on the Montreal
Canadians. Oh, by the way, the Canadians have lost five in a row. Good luck with all that.
They're tied with the odor-wast senators. They are both six points behind the Detroit Red
Wings. And what do we what do we think about the Red Wings chat? Nice. Thank you. They're a point
behind my beloved Florida Panthers. My beloved Florida Panthers are, I don't know, they're only,
you know, 17 points back on Toronto. Toronto is three points back on Boston. And Boston is three
points back on my beloved Tampa Bay Lightning. My name are lighting it up. No pun intended.
They're talking 26 and one at home. They're getting it done, brother.
In the Mootroboon division, the New York Rangers, yeah, you suck. They're, but 14 points out,
they've lost four in a row. They are, let's see, four points back on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
And who've lost two in a row, but they're a point behind Carolina, the Hurricanes who have
lost three in a row. They're tied with the Islanders, the Islanders of one, two in a row,
but the New Jersey Devils, and what do we think about the New Jersey Villains, Judd? They suck.
Thank you very much. They've won four in a row. They're tied with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Don, your Pittsburgh Penguins have won four in a row, and they're a point back in the division.
Wow. See, you got that going for you. Oh, they've been crushing it at home.
Don's so happy. Wow. Wow. So they'll make the playoffs. That's all it matters.
Oh, we have a very interesting wrinkle in this week's show. Do we get ready? In the Western
Conference Central Division that has no Eastern or Western, the Chicago Black Hawks are terrible.
Sorry about that, Marcus. You have 58 points and you're almost 20 back, but you've won one in a row.
So you got that going for you. Let's see, they are eight points behind the Colorado Avalanche,
the Lanch and the Minnesota while they both lost two in a row. The wild is three back on the
St. Louis blows, who's tied with your Dallas stars. Your Dallas stars are fighting, sir. They're
trying to stay competitive in this thing. They got to get out of the cellars. There are five points
behind the Winter Peg Jets and the Nashville Predators. So you got that going for you, which is nice.
In the Pacific Division, the Arizona coyotes are still terrible. You're, you know,
well, but you know, God bless you. You're only 38 points out of first and you've won four in a row.
Eight back on the Vancouver Conucks, Vancouver tied with Edmonton. They're both 15 points back on
the Kings. Boy, I still can't get over that video I posted last week. The general, the one you
reposted, the lightning saving on the Kings. Oh, God. Yeah, yeah, I put that on. Yeah, I put that on the club
else. I saw that earlier. I had to. The Kings are a point back on the Calgary Flames. Who were they
before? They were the Flames, Alex? Thank you very much. We had Game Night on Friday. By the way,
Alex did win Game Night. I wasn't going to bring it up. No, I don't mind saying it. You won Game
Night. We played 90s Trivial Pursuits. It was really cute that you got halfway. But you know
what? Sometimes, sometimes I have to build you up to tear you down. But Sean and I held our own
two. We had a great time. We played a little 90s Trivial Pursuit. Sean did a really good job.
It was nice. And we're going to do this and the lovely talented Mrs. Irvin made an appearance.
And we're going to do this a little more often. I'm not going to say every week because I can't
predict anything anymore. But I can already feel the tear down that's coming just for this show.
Yeah, you might regret that comment now. But you know, a little brother feels better
about some every once in a while. Calgary is a point behind the Anaheim Ducks. Anaheim is a point
behind San Jose. And they're 12 back on the Las Vegas Golden Knights. By the way, Vegas is one
three or row. It's still weird to me. Dude, I'm telling you that team is setting the world on fire
right now. They got 82 points right now. So I debated getting gear while I was there. But I
didn't know if anybody would appreciate that. Oh, I would totally. I love that logo. Yeah, they
got to put the helmet. That's got the V. Although that logo is awesome. So you got to tell me
these things before I go. But I've got someone going in like three weeks. I might be able to get
and that's where a women's nation chamber is going to be too. All right. So we have a
wrinkle in America's favorite game show that's never happened in the history of this show.
So we have to talk about two teams tonight because two teams are tied to be the subject of tonight's
America's favorite game show. And it is what is the goal differential for both the Arizona
coyotes and the Buffalo Sabers. How the mighty of fallen. How about that? We've never had two teams
but with the worst goal differential in the league before. Since we've been playing this game,
I would never happen. But since we've been playing this game, it's never happened.
Chat 73. That'd be a minus. I'm assuming. Yes. Don.
Minus 68. All right. General. Minus 57. All right. Alex. I'll go minus one, Bob.
We're going to give Russ just a couple of seconds to see if he's going to he's going to jump in on
the festivities this evening. But we were so far over last week because it's closest without
going over. So Alex is trying to let me go over the deals here for the Buffalo Sabres. They've
played 59 games. They're 1731 and 11. They have 45 points. They are 817 and 4 at home 914 and 7
on the road. So they're at least they're consistent. They're 35 and 2 and their last 10 games they
have lost 2 in a row on the other side of the coin. The Arizona coyotes after 59 games. They're 1732
and 10. They have 44 points. What's ROW? I saw that row. I knew he was going to say,
but it's what you do in a boat. You want some tequila in there? Open door. It's eight dogs.
At the 4622 mark we have lost our will to live.
But you know, he adds so much. He just got to love him. They are 916 and 4 at home. They're 816
and 6 on the road. They've won 4 in a row. They're 541 and their last 10.
closest without going over is Alex. Because they are both minus 54.
I was too over. I will take being only too over. We're not really knowing what I'm doing.
I thought I had 630.
All right, music talk. Let's get into music talk because God knows I need it. Rumors of the Cardi B
being pregnant have circulated from the Super Bowl. She was at some after party and she had her
own separate VIP area and she was just drinking water. Oh, I was going to say, did this happen?
Oh, Russ says ROW is regulation over time wins. So I guess wins that didn't go to the shootout.
If two or more clubs are tied and points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is
a tournament in the following order. The fewer number of games played, superior points percentage,
the greater number of games won, including games won in the shootout. That figure is reflected in
the row column. Because I saw that a mess in the other day. I was like, what does that even mean?
And the just drinking water doesn't necessarily mean that because it could. Do you know if you
seen the Cardi B she likes to party a little bit. Okay, but I'm just saying like I went to
Vegas and night in drink out a whole little time. I'm not defending that. I'm just saying don't
jump to conclusions when you see a female drinking water because there could be other reasons.
There could be medical reasons. Yeah, she could be having a cleanse or something. Well,
there are some some tweets with some language that I got a little salty about that. There may be
something there, but I'm just saying for the general. She's testing doubt that she's not. Let's
just put it that way. Kendrick Lamar. Don't care what you think about it. He did produce the
soundtrack for Black Panther. He arranged for a thousand kids to go see Black Panther this weekend.
And Titus O'Neill did the same thing where they wanted to take 200 kids and ended up getting the
funded funding to take 2000. And that is a good use of money. Absolutely. So that's all we've
got for music news this week. Music new releases in places. You get music new releases.
Here's a name you haven't heard in a minute. The album called somethingness. The return of our
lady piece. Big fan. Very much enjoy their work. Co-signing. I'm in on that. And you know,
sometimes I have to put things in here because the band name sounds funny. I don't know who they are.
The album is called all at once from screaming females. That is literally the name of the man.
I didn't realize my exes were there. I was just saying I didn't know I was there. Are they playing
with a reconsider lounge by any chance? No, no, that's real. That's real. All right. Let's get into some
in Memoriams. A couple of big ones this week. Let's start with the had an amazing run.
And this was one of those I heard the name and I was like, I know who that is.
At 89 years old, Victor Mone passed away this week. This was a guy who was kind of fringe rat pack.
You could say like he was kind of there, but he kind of wasn't. Wasn't Brandon using him as a
as a name. Victor Mone Jr. He was. What was it? Brandon Leonard. You don't even know
Victor Mone Jr. has brought you. That's L.A. But there's apparently I think there's a hip hop guy
that he was using with it because there is a Victor Mone Jr. Oh, is there? That's been referenced.
I had a number one hits like you're breaking my heart on the street where you live from my
fair lady and my heart cries for you. Was born Vito Rocco Faranola. So, you know, he's Swedish in
Brooklyn. Yeah. His parents were Italian immigrants. His father was an electrician and his mother taught
piano. His cousin was the actress and singer Doretta Morrow. He was inspired by Frank Sinatra to
take voice lessons. When his father was injured at work, he had to drop out of high school.
Worked as an usher and an elevator operator at the Paramount Theater in Manhattan. He met
Perry Como there. Not Perry Como. And I mean the extravagance. Look it up. He did enter a talent
search for Arthur Goddry. Arthur Godfrey's talent scouts and won in April of 1947.
I know for real. But he also did some work with Harold Arlin and Peggy Lee in the 60s.
This was a guy. I mean, you know the name. He has actually offered the role of Johnny Fontaine
and the Godfather. That's right. Yes. I do remember that.
Demone turned down the role for a variety of reasons, reportedly including him not thinking the role
had enough screen time or paid enough, but also due to a fear of provoking the mob and Sinatra.
Yeah, yeah. Absolutely. Because we all know who the Johnny Fontaine was based on.
The chairman. He appeared in a diet Pepsi commercial that aired during Super Bowl 25
with Jerry Lewis, Tiny Tim, Charo, and Bo Jackson singing that you've got the right one baby,
Jingle. Wow. Final album was released in 2002. But this was a guy I've told him. It had a great run.
One of his last professional performances was at the Cravis Center in Palm Beach in 2002.
Also this week, one that really took me off guard. Number one, because he was two years older than I
am. Number two country singer Darryl Singletary passed away this week at 46. He's one of those guys.
Like, my wife is a big country music fan. She's like, I know the name, but I couldn't name you five
songs he did. Yeah, the other reason I know the name is because it's in my karaoke catalog. But he
had, uh, he entered the top 45 times reaching number two with I let her lie and amen kind of love.
And he reached number four with too much fun. Uh, let's see.
It's born in Cairo, Georgia. This father was a postal worker and his mother was a hairdresser.
He sang gospel music at a very young age. He started vocal classes and in 1990,
moved to Nashville in pursuit of a record deal. He found work seeing during open mic nights and
and, you know, then he would work as a demo singer. You want me good money? Demo singers good money
because you don't have to tour and you just sing other people songs other people can hear him and sing them.
One of the demos he sang was an old pair of shoes, which is eventually done by Randy Travis.
I mean, uh, released one, two, three, four, five, six, seven albums. His last album was called
They're Still A Little Country Left July 28th, 2015. He has had,
geez, there's not a lot going on in this thing. His highest ranking album was Ain't It The Truth
in 1998, which reached the US country charts at number 18.
Had it was number seven, uh, the US heat charts as well. So our deepest got to their family friends
and fans. All right, let us combine our loves for pop culture and sports. It's time to talk
wrestling kids. We are the kingdoms. The greatest group in Ring of Honor history. And you,
my friends, you are checking out the clubhouse podcast. Fight the conspiracy and be one of us.
Thank you, gentlemen. Speaking of Ring of Honor, I need a station that's going to show it every
week. Well, the lesson is not showing it this week. I haven't seen it for weeks. Your voice
got to belt, though. I know. I mean, we're standing with the bell on TV. That's a good looking belt,
too. I know. It's making me mad. Well, to see him come out with the bazas. You know,
figure out the Nesson. Yeah. Uh, Russ mentioned comedian Marty Allen. I was actually. I have
spectrum, aka the living hell of time Warner cable. Uh, they don't give Nesson. But Russ
rusted mentioned Marty Allen. That was actually week before last. Well, hello there. There was
an interesting right up with the, the match that Dalton Castle defended against punishment Martinez.
And it's not a bad match. Well, I didn't see it. Did it close with it? Because the right
up I saw said Castle was beaten on the boys. No. Okay. So the right up was wrong. I just wanted
to make sure it's been Martinez. Apparently after in the wake of the Ronda Rousey thing,
apparently WWE has expressed interest if Gronk wants to come do stuff with the company.
Rob Gronkowski. Okay. Okay. By the way, speaking of which, I watched the 30 for 30 of the two
bills today. Pretty good. You have it. The two bills. Yeah. Part cells and bell check. Okay. All right.
All right. So now they're trying to throw out more rumors about Hayman after Lesnar
with a stable potentially that are everybody with the initials are. All pay-per-views co-branded
starting with backlash. Well, wouldn't it be starting with WrestleMania technically? Yes.
The weekly shows will not be affected. Payback and battleground have been removed from the
schedule because that way you wouldn't have to a month. But I will tell you, backlash, I love my
sister. I adore my sister. So I was one of my favorite people in the world. She will not be here
for backlash because let me tell you why. Allegedly, backlash is going to feature the draft
and the WWE draft stresses Charlotte out something horrible.
Russ says now it's on KTXD 47 Saturdays at one. That's what I had it on before. It used to come
on at noon. It doesn't anymore. Russ, I haven't seen it. Come on. No, I haven't seen it. Russ,
I haven't seen it there. That's the channel. It used to be honest. They haven't shown it like four
weeks. They'll rerun Jim Baker every three times a day and whatever. Yeah. But so we're going to
have to see how this works out. I know. Alex said he heard rumors that all pay-per-views are now
going to be four hours because of it. Oh, God. No, please. Yeah, with a one hour pre-show,
which means WrestleMania is now going to go for like a day and a half with the pre-show. Yeah.
Now we're going to start off the pre-show with the Hall of Fame. And it's way four hours.
That hour 24 you'll get NXT. Congratulations to the ivory. She will be the ladies representative
in the Hall of Fame class this year. And as a result, she's now on Twitter. I will say this
honestly. No, that's true. She got on Twitter after that. I remember seeing that they asked
her to create a Twitter and she said, what's that? I actually made it backstage one night during
SmackDown. That was the night of the Gorbush election. And she was, well, she's one of the
few people that really stopped. And she won by a sizable margin? No, she was really. That's the only
way I can do. That's my only real one. Nice. Oh, I've heard. I thought she's amazing. I'm excited
that she's going in. Yeah. I mean, she was the the lone member of Glow that made it to the
big time. She was Tina Ferrari. And she, now she's like living in Washington or Oregon. She looks
great. Yeah, but she looks great. Gotta totally out the wrestling thing and did like a dog thing
and stuff like that. Yeah. And we'll spread. So we're excited to see her. Congratulations.
I'm happy for her. Very excited for her. And ESPN W carried that story, which I thought was
very respectful to because ESPN W is their, their, their, their network that's devoted to women
athletes. So I think I hate it under her career. Was that right to censor thing? That's the only
thing. But that was their answer to the, the PTC. I know. That's all that was. Apparently,
there are conflicting rumors, but the latest is that could happen. Jarrett's being considered
really. I didn't think that would ever happen. What are you saying? It's getting a little
chilly down south. Well, he's also saying that you've seen the rest now. See him. Oh,
girl. And the worst theme music in the history. No, no, no, no. And I swear, you know, they're
gonna use that theme. So you're talking Jarrett. Well, honestly, do you think every China will make
it in? She will eventually. She will eventually. So if you think the only blacklist has been law.
Yes. Okay. Until my theory comes true. Yeah. We're not going to talk about my theory on the show.
Dean Ambrose still scheduled to be out until September is the latest. But now they're saying maybe
sooner. Jeff Hardy is quote unquote close to returning. And they are expecting brother Nero to show
up as soon as he does to be part of the what they're now calling the woken universe.
No, twiddle the in twiddle them. It's over. I don't know. I don't know how, but it's over.
Oh, why is I see, but just this, Matt Hardy, how are you going to look like? Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, Lord. Okay. If it's oh, Farby, we, who were we to say that haircut, man, but you know what?
It's a word. And it's an old part. And so was bad with it. He's selling merch and it's over. I mean,
I can't, I don't get it, but I don't have to get it. Apparently, the, the Ronda Rowsing quote-unquote
contract signing is going to happen at elimination chamber. And the reason they're doing that is
apparently due to poor ticket sales in Vegas. Man, Vegas. That's where it's going to be. I mean,
you can't get poor ticket sales on anything in Vegas. I've said this three times today. Where
are you 20 minutes? I'm serious, but you figure, how would that have poor tickets? We need a bell
whenever we need Don to pay attention to something. Nothing. The shame bell. But yeah, they're saying
that it's part of it's due to poor ticket sales. Nothing in Vegas gets poor tickets. And now we're
talking angle versus Rollins for WrestleMania. What? Yikes. Rumors I'm hearing. No, no, that's,
that's just a test to see how much Rollins can carry something. Well, apparently the, the,
they were supposed to do him in Jordan, but then Jordan got injured and then he wasn't even on the
card at all because there were rumors of another neck injury, but they found that it's not as bad as
they thought, which is now why he's in elimination chamber. And I agree with you. Kind of talked about
this a little bit last week, but I was here because of the shoulder. I appreciate the, you know,
cover. And glad to hear you're feeling better. Yeah, actually, but I'll see this. I agree with
Alexa Bliss on that promo she did. And they should have carried it more because when Kurt Angle put
up the mic and would you like to see Alexa Bliss and they go, yes, yes, if I was her, I'd say,
would you like to see Brock Blisner defend the title more than three times a year at the
elimination chamber? Oh, I hear you. Well, if it counts for anything, we only got a couple of months.
I mean, I'll be calling it out. I mean, I don't know if that was them taking a jab at Brock in
this contract. Oh, they've been using them. Yeah, they've been doing that since November.
All right. And did you hear who's supposed to be on Rautomar tonight?
Self high five. I did hear that. DDP scheduled to be on Rautomar. Nobody knows why, but he's
going to be there. I respect DDP. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Isn't he? He is.
Yeah, I'm saying he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. You win him last year. Oh, yeah, that's
right. I agree with that. I mean, what he's done with everybody. I mean, well, you really know his
story. Like that dude is a dude that nobody gave a chance to until the right people actually let him
do what he does. And that's always in the Hall of Fame. But is anybody that he had helped not in
Razor? Skulled us? Jericho. Well, he said to actually go. Yeah, I think you think he's going to
do announce who's going in next. You think he's got something? Well, I think he might have something
to do with that. Not a bad thought. Well played, sir. That's kind of what I was thinking. What do you
say? That he'll be he'll be announcing to the next Hall of Famer it. And then maybe it was
somebody that he helped him. It might be Hall. It would have been Scott Hall. Because Jake's in.
Jake's in. Yeah, Jake's in already. Yeah. I mean, they were talking that that Monday thing,
the raw anniversary show they did the 25th anniversary. When Razor took him a walk as his body,
you know, took him to get into the ring. That's why they had to take the break, you know, because
it's just, but he's doing healthy. But I mean, his body, you can be healthy, but your body can go
what you put us through for the last 20 years. Physically, he looks better, but he's still not.
Yeah, it took him a long time. He would have to know that. Yeah. All right. Let's talk raw.
Just a couple of things. Anybody noticed that Cena's gear matches the WrestleMania logo?
I kind of did notice that. I'm just saying. Please don't. I don't know. I noticed these things.
And after watching impact the week before, do we have to what talk about it with me? Okay, okay.
After watching impact the week before, the whole Zooming thing that WWE does does not seem
that bad. Because impact does that to an extreme. What do you mean Zooming? Like, you know,
like when somebody punches a guy, they zoom in and zoom out. They also smash cut the other.
Yeah, impact the way they do it is so much worse. Like to the point where I actually had to close
my eyes during a match because it was giving me a headache. You're afraid the Blair Witch is
going to show up around. And I'm going to say four words that I don't think I've ever said on
this show. I thought I think I would have said them eventually, but they apply to this week's raw
Strowman for the win. You didn't watch it. Elias is out there doing his bit.
And you know how when they introduce him, JoJo's like, ladies and gentlemen, Elias.
She does that bit. Well, right in the middle of the song, she goes, ladies and gentlemen,
Braun Strowman. Cut to the top of the ramp. Here's Strowman with a double base that he's holding
like a guitar. Oh no, it's even better because he's standing out there and you're wondering,
but it hits the same Elias setup of a stool and a low microphone. And he's just doing the
brawn and then stops and walks out off the light and then comes back with the base with a double
base, which they called the cello. It was not a cello, it was a double base. Yeah. And he was playing
it so hard. He broke the strings. No, they had that rig because you don't care. We're still fun.
He did his own song and then broke it over a lot. Trust me, I've even played the double
base. You know, in the orchestra, you know, I played cello. I played violin, but my
there's another instrument you played too. You played the cello. Yeah, you played the violin.
Yep, the viola. That's what I'm looking at, but you played the viola. But the specialty was
by viola, but the on the big bass, we call it the big bass. That could be one of the top 10
moments in the show. It's like God's brain just locking up as he tried to say violin. And it
just curing down of control. No, it's going to be all right. Your brain just stopped working.
So I've been not laughed out. When I put that a character in right of the Valkyries,
I'd say a lot that we don't need cameras in this studio. The look on my face in that moment
had to be camera worthy alone. But no, it was those things are heavy. I mean, I'm telling you
everything. The one he made out of balsa wood, just like the rest of them are. But that was a
brilliant moment to me. And I still maintain. And I don't know if you want me to say the hot take I
had or you want me to save it for Sunday. But if you save it for Sunday, I still want Becky
expunged. Expunged for what? Because he picked Becky Lynch to win. Oh, that thing. Let's see. James
Elworth is getting an NWA title shot against the former Magnus NWA. Yeah, the NWA is a lot of
things. Oh, really? Okay. They're big in California. I didn't know. Elworth was there now.
I didn't know. No, did I care? He was on Elworth's independent. He was on
McAfee a couple of weeks ago. And apparently he did Austin's podcast. And I was talking to
them. And they were saying like they gained a lot of respect for him. That was me. When he
when he get to talk his journey. Oh, he's on Jericho's podcast. Okay. Get ready for Thursday,
April 5th, because the WrestleCon Super Show in New Orleans. You've seen the tag match that's
been added, sir. I have nothing. Best friends versus the Golden Lovers. Oh, I did see that when I
didn't realize the Golden Lovers. It's Kenny Omega. And I can't remember the other guy in
New Japan. Yeah, in Nobushi. They were once a tag team called the Golden Lovers. It was a very
brilliant shock. Very, very, very, very brilliant shock. If they look so good to each other. Oh,
brother, you have no idea. You have to see the promo videos. No, it's not. And what could be
a headline that that just makes me go, what did I miss here? Any Edwards who I think is a very
talented wrestler. I've always thought I like, I like the, I've always loved the American wolves.
I don't care what you call them. They're so the American wolves. I like him and Davey Richards.
But I've always thought that he was resting wise the stronger member of that team. He's resigned with
impact. I mean, you must have had a lot of money from ROH because there's no way they're paying
you. And they do have an impact pay-per-view on the calendar. Kids.
Now, is it pay-per-view or is it? No, it's a true pay-per-view redemption. April 22nd.
The last quote-unquote pay-per-view was on standard TV. Yeah. Well,
he and one of the three rooms at the Fox and Hound. It'll probably, it'll probably be,
it's probably going to be over here at the Mesquite rodeo arena. Yeah, no, they put in the
side room. By the way, next Saturday night, the Mesquite rodeo arena, the Beach Boys are playing.
That's a true story. Okay. Alberto El Petro, an apparently returning to AAA.
Because that impact thing's working out so well. And by the way, here's my impact notes.
Do we have to? Moving on. I literally watch all of impact and have no notes. That's how bad
this show is. It's not bad that organization is. Sure. Sure.
Michael Elgin signs a new two-year deal with New Japan, but did you see that story today?
Apparently, he was booked for an indie show. They didn't say that he like he was a surprise
person on the show. Apparently, he's involved in some kind of a scandal where he allegedly helped
cover up an assault done by one of his students at his wrestling school. And because he wasn't
advertised for this show and people showed up during his match, people actually turned their backs
in the crowd because they were like, look, if we didn't, he was going to be on the car,
we wouldn't have come. Now, the promoter takes full responsibility.
Says, you know what? You're absolutely right. We should have advertised him. And they've
offered refunds of the people that are going to ask for him. So without revealing too much,
he's actually countersuing the person who for defamation. Oh, really? Okay. It's actually somebody
he was involved with. Oh, really? Okay. So there's that. Mahabali Shira has joined L.A. NXT.
Hopefully they can teach him. I mean, the guy's guy, I mean, he's got a great look,
watching, but he's in impact. He was just so lumpy that that that signing may have been about
five years premature. So hopefully, age can get a hold of him and we can turn him into something.
Because I like the guy again, there was a house show at Coco Beach this week for NXT.
And a new group has formed. I'm going to be interested to see how this goes because it is Chad
Lail, formerly known as Gunner in TNA. Lacey Evans, Steve Cutler, and Wesley Blake.
And the thing they all have in common is they are all veterans. So this, this allegedly,
this is going to be their, their, their stable. And you know, the bad leaders can go.
Yeah, I will see. I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm I like Gunner. I do. Oh, no, I understand that,
but the first thing that pops into my mind is WCW's. Well, we're not doing GI bro. Okay.
But I'm interested to see where this goes. You know, your leader was in town locally on Friday,
which one? You're wrestling leader? He lives on the street. He was I think from six to eight
pianos. He was here. He was here at the auto show. Oh, yeah. I mean, he lives in
locks of hatches. I didn't surprise him. I remember reading. Oh, yeah, because Russ was there
the next day because he got a picture with John Schneider. Yeah, he did. He sent that to me.
And I love Scott. Just two good old boys. All right, son. Get it done. John Schneider still looks
great. No, I almost went just to see him and take a picture of the 72 Chevel SS. I used to drive.
Because when my sister drove it, they called it the general lead. That was her middleman.
BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM
When I drove it, they called it the general lead. Oh, hey now. Yeah, do you think
does it a mistake for TNA to be in New Orleans on the six not TNA anymore?
Global, whatever you want. It's impact wrestling impact now.
If I was hull of fame or impact,
but it's not just an impact show. It's a wrestle con show. It's a bunch of different
promotions together unless it's our only other one is it's everybody's doing stuff in New Orleans.
Yeah, you got Ring of Honor in New Orleans. Go in there as well. And that card looks great.
I know, but there's, yeah, I mean, wrestle cons a big thing. Well, would you rather do
a real impact for a whole weight? But you know what? If I can't get a ticket,
well, you could get it. I mean, you could, if no, if the hull of fame sells out,
I'll go to a wrestle con show if I'm already in New Orleans anyway.
Give me a chance to go see some great wrestling. It's fun. I want to go. Yeah.
Uh, let's see where are we. The finals of the Cruiser 8 title tournament was announced.
It will take place at the WrestleMania. Do you think it's going to be Roddy?
Oh, Roddy strong. I think his possibility. I think it's really strong when they made him look great.
No pun intended. And Leo Rush, congratulations to him. Number one for finally learning to keep his
mouth shut. But number two, he's a father for the second time. Uh, Dakai Liam Green is the name
of the baby. And as he welcomes a new life into the world, somebody else is now out of the company.
Good night, Rich. Swann. Thanks for playing.
But that was mutual, allegedly. But so now he can go back to playing a homeless guy on any random
Fox show that you'll watch. Wow. Ranging out with him. What am I always saying? He looks homeless.
Uh, the future and this, this is very upsetting to me. And I'm just going to say this right now.
The future of the WWE Blue Ray disc is up in the air due to poor sales.
Why does that not shock me?
I have every WrestleMania they've done on Blue Ray, except for I think I'm two years behind now.
So you're the one guy keeping the lights on. I'm going with it. It's Blue Ray. You know, a blue ray snob.
Yeah, but you see where physical format is going quickly too.
Yeah, I like to say congratulations to Kurt Hawkins. He's now 0 and 175. Did you see his tweet today?
Did you see the title? Yes, that's in his tweet. He said he wants to, he wants to title his
autobiography reverse Goldberg, the Kurt Hawkins story. She's are they browns going to harm
his assistant? That's what I was going to do. You know what? No, it makes a good tellboy.
Couple of notes from SmackDown live. So the top 10 list is now a plot device. Why?
Did you see people turning on? I'm not even going to call him that. I'm going to call him Brad James.
Do you see people turning on him? Brad James. Yeah, you're going to make me say it.
Yeah, it's because I'm a road dog. He they somebody brought up the top 10. He defended it.
Oh, I know. And the response. Everybody thinking they were unique with the same good response of,
yeah, well, at least we didn't book SmackDown into the ground.
The top 10 is always going to be the two champs or the fair. What's the point?
And it was all faces. I really don't. I just want to say this. This is your captain obvious
statement of the week. Chad Gable has no personality whatsoever. And when did their
finisher become the midnight hour? No, that was the new day. That's the new day. When did that
become a thing? That's been a thing for a while. I'm not paying attention. The problem is
is that they don't always finish. I won't offer you. God help you there.
Can he provide that? All right, let's get into movie talk and let's talk to some box office numbers.
Oh, gee, yes, we're going to talk some box office numbers, brother.
This is going to come as a surprise to dropping out of the top 10 this week.
The post drops from 8 to 11, just under another $2 million, $9 weeks, $76.5 million,
or the $50 million budget. And the shape of water drops from 9 to 12, another 1.7,
12 weeks, 53.4 million. I don't have a budget on that, though.
Samson debuts in 10th place, just under $2 million.
Winchester drops from, this Winchester thing seems to be up your alley.
Well, it's telling me you're in a tour, so yeah, but you're one for two with me on that.
It drops from 7 to 9 this week. Sorry, 19.4 million on shape of water,
budget. Oh, 57. So Guillermo's making some cash.
Okay, good. Winchester drops from 7 to 9 this week, $2.2 million,
$3 weeks, $21.9 million. That should be, that probably costs, what, $7.8 to make?
Probably. Maze Runner, the death cure, yikes.
Drops from 6 to 8 this week, $2.5 million, $4 weeks, $54 million, budget was 62.
Oh, good. Good night, Irene.
Early man, or as we like to call it, iTunes exclusive 351 debuts in 7th place this week,
$3.2 million. Not real good for them, but we love this movie, and you should go see this movie
and help it make more money because this movie is nothing short of wonderful.
By the way, Winchester, $3.5 million on the budget.
Oh, wow. God, ladies, you must have taken scale. How did they get Helen Miran at $3.5?
Angie's in Clark for that matter.
I got that on me.
The graph, I want to pay some of my bills.
The greatest showman dropped from 5 to 6 this week, another $5.1 million,
$9 weeks, $154.5 million on an $84 million budget.
You know what, for a movie that took forever to get to where it's at, it finally made some,
it's making its money, so the huge Axeman can make his case for why that movie had to be made.
The huge Axeman.
Did you see the fun tweet about that one?
Uh-uh.
It's somebody doing casting, just saying, hey, Hugh Jackman, bring your big muscles and fun
accent over here. Hugh Jackman just muttering under his breath, like, I just was saying.
Didn't she, wasn't that enchanted?
No, Franch Charming called him huge Axeman.
I do not that I know of.
It's enchanted? No, I don't think so.
There was a movie that he was in like, he was honest.
I think it was enchanted.
He wasn't enchanted.
Though he was playing himself as an actor in a play, and Franch Charming walked in,
and he called him huge Axeman.
No, that was night at the museum.
Yeah, okay, that's what it was.
It wasn't enchanted.
Uh, the, the 15, 17 to Paris drops from the bronze medal to fifth place,
another 7.7 million, two weeks, 25.4 on a $30 million budget.
Did he do?
Yeah.
Like, yeah.
Uh, Jumanji, welcome to the jungle!
Makes another 8 million dollars,
nine weeks, 377 million dollars.
This thing costs 90 to make.
Uh, the movie that Don is still trying to see, I'm sure.
He tried to see when we went to a screening apparently,
as he walked into the wrong theater.
For the wife.
But then she called, she's like, what's wrong?
Why am I not surprised at all?
The rep went, what's Rob doing?
I'm like, Rob's right here.
Rob's not doing anything.
Fifty shades freed is in the bronze medal position.
You put another 17 million dollars, two weeks,
76 million dollars on a $55 million budget.
Remaining in the silver medal this week, Peter Rabbit,
17 and a quarter million dollars, two weeks, 48.2, almost back at budget.
And, uh, if you don't know what won the weekend,
first of all, welcome back from the cave.
Black Panther.
No, I think they had it in the cave.
Right now sits at 192 million.
They're estimating by the end of the four day holiday weekend
that we're talking 218 million.
One of the Alamo Drafthouse locations has a sign posted
and it says all showings sold out.
Absolutely.
And of course, they're all celebrating
because it's like the first time they've had all showing.
Well, they had Mark Bernardin.
I follow him on Instagram.
He's the co-host of Fat Man on Batman.
He took a picture at the Archlight in LA.
Every theater showing Black Panther.
Every one of them.
Wow.
Excellent.
This needed to be done.
And we also like to call that iTunes exclusive 350.
Can you believe that?
Will you combine the number of episodes we've done weekly,
including tonight with our iTunes exclusives?
782 episodes of the show.
God, when how many hours that averages that?
More than I've got.
He took an average.
Apparently not.
20 minutes.
Well, when you space it out over eight years.
20 minutes times eight, you know, 350.
That's, yeah, yeah.
I mean, that's, we're having heck of a run, sir.
A lot of times sitting in front of this microphone.
It's a little thing that we've been doing for
better part of eight years.
All right, let's get to some headlines.
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow.
Big day.
If you're a fan of the movie, get out.
Oh, okay.
Let me do this.
Give me one second here.
We have certain theaters around the country
that will be doing special screenings tomorrow
of the Academy Award nominated.
Get out.
From our friends over at Universal Pictures.
Don, you have some detail on that.
This is their news release from Universal.
Jordan Peele and Universal Pictures offer fans free tickets
to Special Presence Day screening
of the four-time Academy Award nominated get out.
First come for sure.
Academy Award nominations for this film.
All right.
First come.
First serve offer valid at 55 AMC's nationwide
to guess of the seven o'clock screening
on Monday, February 19th.
So tomorrow night.
Seven o'clock show.
First come.
First serve.
You can see get out for free.
That's cool.
That's across the nation.
Is there a website that's
I think they could go to that?
There's a see if it's on here.
All right.
It is.
It is select.
Right.
It's like he said, 55 AMC theaters nationwide.
So, you know, of course,
you're major metropolitan areas.
We've got a couple here in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
Yeah, but the AMC in the Dallas,
the FW area, it's the North Park 15
and the Mesquite 30 are the ones doing this.
Believe it or not.
So, very nice theaters.
Yeah, exactly.
So, Monday, tomorrow, just want to see that movie.
We saw it.
I did a written review, which is on WWW.
That's the clubhousebuckass.com.
That's our website.
And I put my movie how I felt about it.
I really liked it.
It was a good, good film.
I didn't expect to see what, you know,
what to expect on that.
But I was presently surprised.
Other areas.
Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati,
Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston,
Indy, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Missouri,
LA, Fort Lauderdale, Minneapolis, Nashville,
New Orleans, New York, Oklahoma City,
Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh,
Raleigh, San Diego, San Francisco,
San Jose, Oakland, Seattle, Tacoma, St. Louis,
Tallahassee, Florida, Tampa, Washington, DC,
and you can go to www.getoutoneyearlater.com.
That's their website.
Yeah, for the of information on that.
No showing buildings.
No, buildings want to know there's nothing to want.
Well, the only thing they have is still showing Casablanca.
So, they've got that going on.
No, that's coming next week.
No, no, no, they're up to Easy Rider.
Oh, are they?
Okay, that's coming next week.
But go check out what's to give the website again.
Yeah, it's www.getoutoneyearlater.com.
One year, give me that.
It's been a year already.
But go check that out.
If you want to catch a free shirt, again,
these are first come first,
or even you know, they're going to go fast for a variant.
I just love the fact that this has gotten some Oscar nods.
God bless them.
I liked it.
Yeah, I didn't enjoy this.
It was actually poorly advertised in my opinion
when it first came out.
This was near the top of my list for last year.
But at the same time, it was from Jordan Peele of Key and Peele.
And it's like, well, not really a comedy,
not really a horror kind of somewhere
in there where it's just a good movie.
And I don't know anybody that did not enjoy that film.
So, get your tickets, man.
Before they're all gone and you're going to hear
everybody else talk about it.
I'm just saying, yes, he for free first come for service.
So, go for it.
There's two in the DFW area.
So, why not, Mesquite and the MC North Park?
All right.
What else we got going on here?
How about the numbers for the Cloverfield paradox?
Did you see this, Chad?
I haven't seen the actual feature.
But with no announcement, they do a commercial during the Super Bowl.
This thing drops into Netflix as soon as the game is over.
Five million views in seven days.
That's a pretty big announcement.
And you've still got the God, we thought that was the God particle.
That's not the God particle.
That's a whole different movie that's coming later this year.
Geez.
Which, JJ's already said that this thing's nuts.
So, have you watched any of the Cloverfield?
I've never seen a film with a word Cloverfield in the title.
Okay.
So,
Disney might be a wrinkle in this 21st century fox thing.
Also, Comcast is sniffing around again.
No.
Now, I don't think this is going to be that big of a deal.
Because Disney's going to go.
We have more money than you.
Who are you?
Beauty human.
Yeah.
Who are you?
Be gone.
I'm WWE.
Hi, TNA.
How are you?
Exactly.
But we do now, we have new details on the deal.
Because we've been wondering what goes where.
The deal does include the Fox Sports Regional Networks.
But does not include the Fox,
left, left, left.
Now we're saying it does not include the Fox Broadcasting Networking Stations.
Does not include we knew about FSN.
We knew about Fox Business.
We knew about Fox News.
FS1, FS2 and the Big Ten Networks are not included in the deal.
So, basically, nothing changes for the NFL.
So, I guess not.
And interesting news that deals with iTunes exclusive number 346.
We are getting Den of Thieves 2.
And Gerard Butler is returning.
Really?
Is he going to play the same character?
Or are we going to get Gerard Butler without trying to be an American accent?
We do have a Remi State set for Death on the Nile.
December 8th, 2019.
It's coming next year.
So, they fast-tracked it.
So, I know what I can get for Christmas for mom this year.
There you go.
Looking very much enjoyed Merger on the R&X press.
Very, very much.
Paul King is in talks to direct another Willie Balkan.
What?
I don't think this is connected.
Well, no, this is another reboot.
Right.
I mean, they already did the original.
Which I love.
They did the Tim Burton thing, which was a steaming pile.
And now we're going to do it again.
Well, maybe they'll go into the second one.
If I say yes, are they...
Can I get Charlie in a great class?
That's when I was a little man.
This is going to be the chocolate factor.
But I'm saying maybe this one will have enough of a following
that we get the second one.
It's got to be good enough.
I'm not worried about a following.
It's just got to be good enough.
Why don't they do Red Dawn directed
by Terence Malc star Justin Bieber?
Red Dawn's already memory, right?
That's why I get points.
There's exactly one thing for that,
and that's the death.
I defend America, yo.
You're kidding me.
Terence Malc directing.
No, let's go to a movie that Dawn did enjoy.
Okay.
Steven Chabassi, the director of Wonder.
Yeah.
But you remember, he is going to be directing
the Dr. Sioux's biopic.
Oh, okay.
That'll be nice.
So, let's show some respect.
I'll be able to see how deep they go into that.
So, have you guys...
Am I the only one that Chab maybe?
Am I the only one that's seen Kung Fury?
No, is that the...
Would they mouth over and stuff like that?
They're guys mouth over the piss.
No, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no.
This is a 20-minute short that you can get on YouTube
if you look up Kung Fury.
Okay.
It is...
Galoriously terrible on purpose.
Intentionally terrible, yes.
The title song is sung by one...
Hasselhoff that has a video
that is nothing short of beautiful
where he punches a police cart to oblivion.
We've heard rumors of the big screen adaptation.
It is happening.
In playing the lead.
Michael Freakin fast-bender.
I can't believe he agreed to this.
And did you hear who they've announced
who the bad guy is going to be?
No, I didn't hear that.
You do the chop-up?
Shut up!
Schwarzenegger is in.
Do we give the name of the film?
No, if you don't, no.
Well, I don't know if he's playing the villain,
but I know he's on board.
He'd have to.
Yeah.
What can you say?
The villain is the Kung Führer.
I mean, Kung Führer.
The Wheelchair Man.
No, no, no, no.
I'm telling you, dude, go...
He's got to be the Kung Führer.
When you get home tonight,
look up Kung Führer on YouTube.
It's on YouTube.
You can watch it for free.
Okay.
It will take you long.
It will, yeah.
It's all...
Like, it's just like...
It is this...
If you think major laser is weird.
It is this gorgeously horrific train wreck of genres.
It's a love, a homage to 80s revenge of the ninja plot.
And the friend of the show, Jim Bragle,
was actually part of the Kickstarter
to get it right.
He has an autographed script
and an autographed one sheet.
Yeah, you...
You look at the ratings on it, though.
8.1 out of 10 on IMDB.
Because it's wonderful.
96% liked in Google.
You have to see this.
Just reading the opening of Kung Führer
is a 2015 English-language Swedish martial arts teacher.
I'm telling you.
I'm telling you,
when we get done here,
if you guys want to watch in the green room,
I'll pull it up on the big screen.
Because it's...
You sit there and you're like,
somebody made this.
This is nothing short of me.
Wait a minute, wait a minute.
David Hesselhoff's character is named Huff-9000.
Yes, yes, yes.
Like, if you watch this in Turbo Kid,
back-to-back,
like you have everything you need in this.
And you're just out of Hitler, Dragon.
He's the Kung Führer, Don.
Stay with me.
I know.
Thor?
Oh, Lord.
No, we're watching this.
Do we have anything else on the run sheet
in movie news or...
And there's a trailer...
We have a ton to get...
No, no, no, that's martial arts-related.
No, not that I can say.
Real fast, there's a two-minute trailer,
so is that 10% of the movie?
Pretty much.
Okay.
Pretty much.
Has anybody seen the trailer for Cobra Kai yet?
Yes.
And it looks horrible.
I want it to be good so badly.
Now the keyboard has fallen off.
Zabka is not in good shape at all.
Johnny,
but we love Billy.
The years have not been kind to Johnny.
Machia looks great.
Be careful because, you know,
I did get my hug on with him,
and he is pretty fabulous in person and up close.
He's a...
Oh, I'm not saying he is or isn't a nice guy,
but God, he looks rough.
I see.
He didn't, he didn't,
at Colin,
at year or two years ago.
Did they do something to him and...
No, no, I think they're supposed...
They're trying to make him look more rough than he is.
Aren't they?
This trailer looks...
Here, girl.
Okay, okay.
I just want to just say...
I was shocked because...
He was quite yummy when I got...
Where's the kid?
Where's the kid?
Where's the kid?
It's gonna be on...
No, it's on Amazon.
Amazon, that's right.
Amazon's gonna...
It's called Cobra Kai.
Um, because like, he showed up in a commercial
a couple of years ago.
I can't remember what it was,
and he looked good in that.
Now, I'm like, what happened between then and this?
They did it for the meantime.
So, okay, okay.
And Chad,
I know that you don't really have a fondness
for the LeBron James.
I get it.
But now I have a reason to...
Tell him to go Pound Sand.
He is apparently producing
a house party reboot.
I have a problem with this.
You leave that movie alone.
That movie is a piece of American cinema genius
that cannot be messed with.
Red Dawn?
Don't make it keep going.
But it's House Party.
I know Red Dawn, you can update
because there's always war.
House Party is House Party.
It's Kidding Play.
Poltergeist.
How many keep going on?
It's the PLA Y.
I just here to say hi.
Asking you, May, I tell you about the day
I picked up a microphone, a pad and a pen.
The legend of the champ begins.
That's what I'm talking about.
Wait, tap the break.
Is he getting Kidding Play involved
or is he just talking about...
This is a reboot.
Okay, so that's a no.
To my knowledge, you are correct in that assumption.
You might get a cameo.
Footloose.
Why me keep going?
Charlie in the chocolate factory.
Not House Party.
The horse is dead.
Okay, not House Party.
How many of those did they make?
Three.
Well, technically two.
The third one had nothing.
Yeah, the third one had nothing.
That was just immature as vehicle.
But even the second one had a decent soundtrack.
And it was the pajama jammy jam.
And I still want Kid's PJ
that had all the billier balls.
I still want those.
Ain't going hurt.
No body.
We saw that live.
You and I saw that live.
Yes, we did.
Yes, we did.
But to call it a day.
So what you're saying is they should have done class act.
That movie is a level of terrible
that I mean, everybody has their ishtar.
It's the brother's books.
You might just want to keep on moving.
The reaction of Misha Brooks.
No, no, no, no.
Misha Brooks, who's the father in that?
When he said your your son's going to make a great homeboy.
His reaction to that line could be one of the worst things.
Hollywood's ever written.
Yes, it is.
Even more so than that.
So let's sweeten up the worst thing Hollywood's ever written.
Let's talk Sasha Baron Cohen for a minute.
Hey, I like him.
I love Borat.
Somebody has to.
You can have my share of it.
Did you hear who he's got in his new prank film?
Oh, got it.
Oh, no, let's hear it.
What's going on?
Oh, Jay.
Oh, my God.
Yes.
What's the film called?
Oh, we don't know.
It's going to be a prank film.
Allegedly paid him $20,000,
but neither one of them will verify that.
Because if it's verified, then all that money goes to the goldmins.
Are we sure this isn't him pulling one over on OJ,
but getting paid for the meeting took place in a hotel room in Vegas?
You tell me.
Well, because do you remember the failed punk to version that OJ tried to do before?
Because meetings with OJ and hotel rooms in Vegas go so well.
Speaking of another bad idea, because we can't,
you know, the Bumblebee movie is coming out later this year.
And the one China isn't it.
After Bumblebee, we're rebooting Transformers again.
Was that confirmed as a reboot?
So we're after Bumblebee, they're rebooting it.
So we're rebooting a reboot?
Yep.
Because the Walbur thing was a soft reboot?
No, that was a horrible excuse of a kid.
Okay, I thought it was a soft reboot.
Okay.
I like my eye.
Um, we're way past where we're supposed to be in the music here.
Hold on.
Let me get my music back on track and track here.
GI Joe's getting the reboot treatment in 2020,
which is also when we're going to get micrenauts.
What?
Seriously?
They're doing the whole universe with GI Joe micrenauts mask the whole thing.
They're getting their own universe.
The Hasbro cinematic universe is becoming a thing.
No, that's true.
That's a true thing.
That's an actual thing.
It just sounds so good.
Uh, and Dungeons and Dragons is coming in 2021
because that, that movie went so well.
Well, it's obviously not going to get you in.
Yeah, I mean, I earns.
And Mark June 30th on your calendar.
Disney Hollywood Studios.
That is the opening day for Toy Story Land.
Yes, I've seen this thing.
Hollywood Studios is going to run out of a lot of real estate in the next 18 months.
That's all I'm saying.
It's at the studio's park.
Yes, because that's where the Pixar park is.
What did it take?
They have a Pixar land in there now.
What did it take?
What did it replace?
Or did it just take a break?
No, it's going to be part of it.
It's going to be part of the Pixar thing.
Okay, they already have.
Oh, you're going to love this.
The imbedded site.
His upcoming projects for Cone.
One's called Cochrane and LaFarge.
Out.
Good Cochrane.
Out.
I know I see what you did there.
Out.
Yeah, that's, yeah.
The epic story of two great of some minds in the world.
Don?
Yeah.
Still not telling me.
Okay.
I mean, that's what's literally saying.
Yeah.
No, this episode is so random.
Moving you releases in places you see moving you releases this week?
What?
What?
What?
What?
No!
He's slated to play Mandrake.
Mandrake the Magician in 2019.
Why not?
All right.
He did good in Hugo though.
He did some good roles.
He's done some good roles.
In Hugo, you did very, very well, Matt.
He does great voice work because he is.
I like to move it.
I'm okay with that.
Yeah.
And he whips the floor.
Places that you see, movie places and new releasing movies.
Natalie Portman in a annihilation.
So no, you can't wait for.
I, you know what?
It is immeasurable.
How little I care about that film.
Game night.
This I'm actually kind of interested in
from a guilty pleasure aspect.
I don't want to see it.
Because I'm the cast on this alone is more than worth it.
Even though it's got, it's got potential to be so bad.
It's good.
Like movie number 42 kind of bad.
And that was a movie number for you.
Yeah.
No, game night this.
Dude, Rachel McAdams.
Jesse Plemons, Jason Bateman,
Michael C. Hall, Chelsea Peretti,
Billy Magnus, and Kyle Chandler, Danny Houston.
And it's basically about a bunch of people
that get together for game night.
And then they find themselves in the middle of an actual murder mystery
that they can't tell if it's part of the game or not.
Coincidence that this comes out
the week after you start doing game night at the house?
I'm not going to say it didn't inspire me,
but we're not doing it.
He wasn't happy about losing.
No, I was fine with losing.
I was exhausted, dude.
This has been a long week.
So you totally need to get this one sheet?
So we're going to blame it on the slip deprivation?
Oh, I'm not blaming it.
I'm just saying I'm just, I was not mad.
I may have, have you not seen the one sheet?
That needs to be in the living room then,
whenever you do your game.
Also, a movie called Everett Day.
This, have you seen the trailer for this thing?
Why did you just turn into Aaron Neville?
No, that was my Dave Matthews.
Oh, is that what that was?
Because you got to have a chicken on a mug.
Have you seen the trailer for this thing?
Basically, there's this girl and she kind of falls for this guy.
But every, like, he's, I don't know how this works,
but every day this is, I guess it's a spirit.
It becomes somebody else in her life.
He wakes up in someone else's body.
Yeah.
So some days he's a boy, some days he's a man,
some days he's a female.
And they fall in love every day.
Yeah, they re fall in love every day.
The girl stays the same.
But the counterpart is never in the same body the next day.
So it's kind of like a 51st dates kind of thing
with reincarnation thrown into the whole thing?
Kind of sort of, maybe Hawk.
It's not reincarnation, but it's, it's, it's, it's,
Lady, really?
Because they know his change in the game.
It's a possession.
Who is your crack dude?
It's like a possession.
I don't do crack.
Let's be clear.
I'm the guy that does the obscure references on this show.
Lady Hawk?
Or because they change the thing.
Yeah.
Well, it's because they have to.
It's not ammunition.
Did somebody call me the price of tea and giant of leaves?
No, but it's, let's, let's, let's,
let's unpack this for a minute.
God, do we have twenty-six yen at the pound?
We're in the ditch.
The guy that doesn't have the geek cred in the room
brings up Lady Hawk.
I'm given points for it.
Because of the love thing and they have to transform.
Oh, no, I'm with you.
I'm with you.
We don't need a spoon, man.
I didn't say I agree with you.
I just said I'm with you.
I'm not just saying you're high, but okay.
This is my life.
Oh my god.
I miss this.
I need to stop by the liquor store on the way.
I'm so glad I'm not working tomorrow because I really need to sleep.
And a movie called Beast of Burden.
Have you seen this thing?
It's got the Daniel Radcliffe in it.
Sean Hadgerty only has an hour to deliver his first illegal cargo.
An hour to reassure a drug cartel, a hitman, and the DEA that's nothing is wrong.
An hour to make sure his wife survives and he must do it all from the cockpit of a sesna.
So it's like a darker version of American made, I guess.
And this is who?
The Daniel Radcliffe.
Brad Harry Potter.
Harry Potter.
He is really diversified.
His acting.
Grace, Grace Gummers in this, Pablo Shribers in this, is Mick Jagger?
I saw it.
Who didn't see that coming?
Who didn't see that coming a mile away?
I was waiting for it.
Sometimes.
I was waiting for it.
Sometimes.
Even I pass up certain years.
You got to know when.
If I'm willing to drive past that block.
Christmas.
Given the low bar that I set puns at.
Because I'm not afraid of bad pun humor.
But if I'm willing to drive past that block.
It's usually a good rule of thumb that maybe you should be in the car too.
I'm physically uncomfortable right now.
I mean, I feel like I've got a knife in my rib cage.
And because we're not visual, Alex has lost it so bad.
He's putting his hat over his face.
Yeah, from my tin, I like the sightseeing when we drive.
Stop and take the picture.
Where are we going?
And why am I in this hand basket?
That's all I want to know right now.
If we've already arrived.
Will you talk about where are we going?
We're on the roasting pit.
The nine people that listen to this show have probably bailed.
Bye, Russ.
Hmm.
And you know what?
What am I going to say, Rob?
What am I going to say?
You blame me.
I blame you.
I blame you.
Let's believe me.
I mean, you're not the first and you ain't going to be the last.
That's the t-shirt I need to have me.
I'm just no air a finger pointing to him saying, I blame you for all of this.
No, you're getting on the satellite.
I'm the C-3, Robert.
I'm the C-3PO of the show.
This is our goalfold.
Yeah, we can probably custom something on jazz.
This is probably golden, Rob.
For those of you that don't know, I have made a pledge in the year of our Lord 2018 to
curse less.
And tonight is not helping that quest.
There's going to be a small outburst.
I don't know about small.
Might be on the level of the Austin.
You know what?
What better way to segue into DVD and blue ray new releases
because we get Daddy's home too this week.
I'll keep quiet on that one.
Because there were so many unanswered questions from the
Will Farrell Mark Wahlberg Opus
that the Wanchano was.
Yeah, that's why I'm keeping this one.
What?
Who they had played the dad.
What?
He's in the second one.
What?
He's in the first one yet.
Yeah, what, yes.
Wanchano.
Well, the dads are Lithgow and Mel Gibson.
So that's pretty awesome.
I serve that.
I know.
Dude, I'm so drained right now.
That's awesome.
And this is actually shorter than our normal show.
We had a...
We had a...
The animated Christmas film, The Star,
which I actually was interested in.
It kind of got past me.
It hits DVD the right.
Loving Vincent, which we've heard really good things about.
Oh, that's on DVD the last week.
And we have two fairly obscure films in the Criterion collection this week.
The first one from 1963 called An Actors Revenge.
While performing in a touring Kabuki troop,
leading female impersonator,
Yukinojo comes across three men.
The three men who drove his parents
to suicide 20 years earlier
and plans his revenge firstly
by seducing the daughter of one of them
secondly by ruining them.
So it's the feel-good movie.
Yeah, yeah.
Let's book that.
And also a movie called Niac the Hero.
Enroute to Delhi to receive an award
of Bengali film star.
Re-evaluates his success
through his fellow passengers,
dreams, and past experiences.
So that's all of your DVD employee releases.
A couple of things in Tech Corner this week.
But the Spyro the Dragon Trilogy remaster
is headed to the PS4.
How do you feel about this, sir?
I'm pretty excited about that actually.
I know that you were kind of in two camps
in the PS1 days.
You were either a Crash Bandicoot fan or a Spyro fan.
I happen to be a fan of both.
And I know how well received the Bandicoot remaster was.
So hopefully they do.
I mean, I know it's not the same people,
but I hope they do an equally stellar job
on the Spyro Remaster.
Hope they do something similar with Sly Cooper.
And a move that surprises no one.
Lego Marvel Superheroes 2
will be getting a Black Panther DLC pack.
I have a confession to make.
What's that?
I fired up Marvel Superheroes earlier today
just to see a Black Panther was in it.
And apparently he shows up in a side quest
and I also have Lego Marvel Avengers.
And I went right to a condon just started playing this.
I know I'm a sap.
I'm an absolute bad joke.
That's a great thing.
And, uh, you know what?
People keep telling me I need to get on this
Rick and Morty bandwagon.
And
As a recent convert, I agree.
I have the first two seasons on Blu-ray.
I will let you borrow them.
I just got no interest.
I don't get the whole pickle rick thing.
It just doesn't click with that.
Have you watched it?
I've tried.
I feel like this is the same demographic
that's big into adventure time.
Yeah, which I was not into.
Yeah, same here.
But I wasn't into adventure time,
but I'm on Rick and Morty.
The PlayStation VR in April
will have the Rick and Morty virtual rickality.
It's going to have two different versions,
a regular standard version and a collector's version.
And we were talking before the show
about our love for pinball effects and all the pinball effects.
Yes.
They're releasing next month.
Texas pinball festivals coming.
They are releasing three tables on Tuesday
that are connected to Jurassic.
Oh, very nice.
Dave and Dave will be happy with that.
All right.
Are we ready for the list, kids?
Yeah, yes.
All right.
So it's no secret
that
I want to t-shirt that says
I don't judge people based on race,
creed, or color.
I judge them based on grammar,
syntax, and vocabulary.
So this week's list,
10 phrases that need to be banned.
Number 10.
Michael Cole, I'm looking at you.
That's classic or that's vintage.
Vintage.
Out.
Get out of it.
Mainly because I'm getting old
and I don't want to hear things I grew up
with being called classic or vintage.
But or so and so going old school,
even though that's probably mainly just the undertake of it.
Just, oh no, it's not.
I mean,
I've heard the words old school M&M in the same sentence.
No, I'm saying in,
you know, I'm just,
this isn't just in wrestling.
This isn't general.
This isn't a, okay.
This is in the world.
Okay, I found it.
Number nine, I can't even,
because we all know that's why teenage girls
only go and, and packs of even,
in odd numbers, because they can't even.
Now, I'm leaving in, I just can't,
because I use that.
More often than not during the show.
But!
Number eight.
And you'll be surprised that this is not
higher on the list.
Oh, it's ranking this time.
Oh, yeah.
He or she is showing resiliency.
That should not be a word.
No, but it passed spell check.
Number one.
Number two, it's in the dictionary.
But so is,
oh, so damn yeah.
That bar.
Also, so, so wait,
that didn't net.
Is that in, in the works?
Is that going to be right behind the show?
It wouldn't surprise me.
Uh,
number seven's a sports reference
that needs to be removed from the vernacular.
The hot stove.
Because it deals with the Yankees and Red Sox.
It just wears me out.
No, the hot stove needs to be limited
to what it was originally intended,
which was the offseason rumors
or the trade rumors.
And now it's all just about the Yankees and Red Sox.
That's the hot stove now.
Number six.
It's more of a reimagining.
Shut up!
Shut up!
It's not such a cop out.
No good ever comes from that.
Not a reboot.
It's not a remake.
A more protector.
Number five, and I credit Tony Rielli
with giving me this idea.
Any time on around the horn,
anybody uses anything with the phrases
optics or narrative he mutes them
and takes points away.
Really?
Oh, absolutely.
He said, he points at the reporting.
He's like, you people have put this into the ground.
Every time you mention it, you get muted.
And they get points to time.
They do.
He'll do it.
I like that, dude.
A lot.
I love around the horn.
And now, um,
Lebitarge Show is also available on the podcast app.
Okay.
So I can listen to all three of my sports shows
if I don't make it home in time.
So, although the thing with Lebitarge Show
is part of this show is,
it is kind of a visual thing, yeah.
But,
I mean,
because you can't understand Poppy.
No, because a lot of times they do just like
YouTube clips.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, yeah,
they'll show really.
I know Poppy's not.
We're friends on Facebook.
I'm friends on Facebook with Poppy.
I'm not afraid to say that.
Number four, if I had a dollar,
like, that was officially done
when Larry the Cable Guy did it 20 years ago.
So, let's just move on.
I've done before that.
Number three, anything with the word synergy in it.
I just, that word from day one has annoyed me greatly.
The first time I heard it, I'm like,
that's just a dumb word.
Like, you think it makes you sound important.
No, it makes you sound dumb.
It makes you sound like the guys on, on,
on what was that bit on,
in living color?
Because the defecation.
Oh, when David Wayne was a homeless guy.
Yeah.
Had to got away with a lot of words
that I didn't think you could say on television
and those things.
Number two, speaking of thinking that make you think
you sound you're smart, but you're really not.
Working hard?
They're hardly working.
Oh, god.
I heard it the other day, and I'm like,
people still do not.
And you even just did the finger guns.
Exactly.
That's a Kenny tarmac thing.
Leave that alone.
That's on the level of how's the weather up there
or cold enough for you or hot enough.
That was the thing I forgot to put on the list.
What?
People that use, they blame global warming
for things they don't understand what global warming is.
Number one, and I've been hearing this a lot lately
and I don't know why this thing has made a comeback
with inventions, but it wears me out.
At the end of the day.
This could be the most overused phrase
in the English language right now.
And there are probably people that are listening
to this show right now that are like,
I use that.
I know you do, and you wear me out with it.
This is not the direction I thought you were going with
in this list, though.
Or were you thinking, besties?
But see, stuff like that.
It whips me down the highway.
That doesn't bother me so much.
I'll just stand up.
No, there is a huge omission I was expecting.
And that's why I said I was expecting a family guy
to earn in here, which was the a whole nother.
No, it's a whole other.
A whole nother doesn't include that.
That would be on the list of stuff that people say
that they, like, people that I don't think that means
what you think would it means.
That would be a different list.
Or what Charlie posted, what Charlie posted on February 14th.
She's amazing how many people incorrectly call it
Valentine's Day, or they put the apostrophe in the wrong place.
They think that it comes after the S.
But no, that's just from how to be a player.
Valentine's.
Or people that get St. Patrick's Day wrong.
P-A-D-D-Y, not P-A-T-T-Y.
Thank you, sir.
Like, if you've ever...
If you're very happy to hear you say it right.
If you've ever watched, it's always sunny in Philadelphia.
There you go.
And my wife will argue people down that green's not the cover.
They should be wearing it. It should be blue.
Oh, really?
Apparently.
Sure, mother's Irish, so I prefer blue.
I thought it was green versus orange.
And it just depended on Catholic versus...
No, that's just a university in Miami.
Catholic versus convex.
That could be a whole different...
Like, they actually talked about that on B and T before,
about people that say phrases.
And it's like, that's not even right.
That's a whole different list for a whole nother time.
Don, you gotten quite over there, you all right?
No, I'm just listening.
Oh, OK.
He's just waiting for the next level, I can't even...
I love him.
Oh, no.
He's been his maximon for the evening.
No, no, no.
No, no, no.
He already maxed out on Candy Crush a week ago.
No, no, no, no.
Are you already beating the new levels that you put it?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Because it was like...
Don, you're playing Candy Crush, it's like yeah.
I would done with it with like 20 new levels.
Yeah, I think he maxed out his ability to throw something in.
You just hit the...
No, no, no, no.
I'll say this.
Two phrases that bug me.
One is with the wrestling talk Michael Cole going in a vicious assault
I hate when he's ambitious assault. Why is Josh Matthews ripping off
Michael Cole. Oh, by the way, we have a new executive at my company whose name is Michael Cole and it freaks me out of
The time I see as I've told you what you do. Yeah
I think vintage annoys me worse or cut everything's controversial
Really really Michael Cole that's controversial the fact that you're still at the table and sometimes for me
It's just a higher hello that gets me. Yeah, that's fair
All right kids, let's do the plugs and get out of here and go watch Kong Fury visit our website
