It is 701 on the East Coast.
It is 401 on the West Coast.
It is the 12th of March in the year of our Lord, 2017.
Season 7, Episode 33, 383 times this voice has welcomed you to the Club House podcast
no matter how you listen, whether you're live on you stream, whether you're listening
on our archive, or you subscribe on your favorite podcast app we don't care how you
listen.
We're just glad you're here.
I've already got people checking in on the chat room, which is a great deal.
One of my best friends in the entire world who happens to have a wedding anniversary
tomorrow, happy anniversary, I'm probably going to tell you about a hundred times tomorrow
you and your lovely wife.
Kind of a different show this week.
My name is Rob.
I am the executive producer of the Club House podcast and I don't feel like I've saved
any time with this day light.
Just saying Chad still out having some issues with this car that he's trying to get fixed.
So fret not my friends, we are not going to be doing this solo adventure, sitting in
for Chad tonight.
This could be the first time ever that he's done the show with me without a hundred other
people in the room, normally joins us for the WWE shows, but he's here, you know, called
in the lefty.
He's good to go.
He is Steven Zimmerman.
Welcome back sir.
You know, I'm still trying to figure out if I'm wearing right shoes or left shoes.
I'm not exactly sure what's going on.
I always have to make sure that the straight line is on the outside.
That's the whole thing for me.
Let's and Russ is in the chat room as well.
Good to see you sir.
But let me just see Russ, I saw you the other day.
Yeah, it's always good.
Guys, always just happy to see you and I love that about him.
No corrections are updates from last week's show.
So we as wheels off is that show was we had no updates or corrections, which I still don't
understand how we pulled that off.
I'll take it all day long.
We're going to dive right in.
NASCAR back in full swing today was, which is what Russ was this.
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway race has to be a name for it.
Oh yeah, yeah.
I'm going to see if it can get the actual name here.
Because this NASCAR, they changed the website again and it's all jacked up now.
And I can't, it's driving me crazy.
I'm going to be honest with you.
This was the cobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
It ended about five minutes before we went on air.
So we have your, your updates, your final top 10 finishers and they're like, even the
stats are weird this year.
I mean, it's kind of cool.
Some of the things are doing and we'll talk about it here in a minute.
Your top 10 finishers are as follows.
And they don't have the where they started versus where they finished this year on the
website.
That feature finishing and 10 to the number 14 Ford Clint Boyer in ninth place, the
number 20 Toyota Matt Kenseth, Jamie McMurray finishes eighth and the number one Chevrolet.
But we found out in pre-show, Steven's favorite driver, Ryan Blaney.
They call him the stone or at least we do in the number 21 Ford finishing in seventh.
I feel like him or Chase Elliott could revive the NASCAR series.
I mean, we may have him come in up here in a minute.
I hope so.
Denny Hamlin, you can get that with a side of hash browns if you'd like.
He's in the number 11 Toyota he finishes in sixth.
Brad Kenselowski in the number two Ford finishes in fifth.
Number 22 Ford used to belong to smoke.
Now belongs to Joey Legano, he's in fourth in third place in the bronze medal in the
number 24 Chevrolet Chase Elliott with another top three finish for you, sir.
Kyle Larson gets the silver medal in the number 14 Chevrolet and finishing in first in
the number 78 Toyota Martin Truek's junior wins at Vegas.
Now I actually had to go to a different website to get points updates because it's just
jacked up.
But they're also like about the way one thing I like about the new NASCAR is they'll
show you what they call the Delta.
So what that means is they'll show you the seconds difference between that driver and
the driver ahead of them, which is kind of cool.
Now so not only behind the leader, but behind the person in front of them.
It'll give you, it gives you their best lap time and their average lap time.
So it's kind of neat.
Here's your points updates.
Really your odd men out right now.
I wonder if this guy's related to somebody famous, an 18th place tied for 18.
You have Ryan, hello, newman, and a Matt DeBennadetto, isn't that Tony Bennett's real
last name?
Maybe without the D. Tony, baby, if you give him enough quarters, maybe.
17 jumping for this week is Cole Whitt.
That's what he would say.
Cole Whitt.
He was a good racer back in the Chuck series.
I'm surprised I see him right now in the Cup series.
I haven't been paying attention since I told him so.
Russ is saying that that Chase Elliott is the son of NASCAR legend Bill Elliott.
Yes, did not know that.
Bill Elliott is the fastest, quote-unquote driver that ever raised ever because his speed
records back with his old Budweiser cars back in the early 90s, yeah, he was a stud.
Jumping 16 places to the 16 slot this week is Matt Kenzith, Paul Menard, guest's family
does own those stores, drops 5 to 15, Clint Boyer jumps 9 to 14, Eric Almyrola drops
7 to 13, now these are the people of the chase, if let's start it today, because
it's 12 drivers now.
We tried to decipher all this for you Andrew and I did a few weeks ago.
We hope we at least did it a little bit of justice because I'm still looking for you.
Paul, not even me, but watch NASCAR since I was 7 years old, I don't understand it.
Jumping 6 slots to the 12 slot getting in, if it started today, Jamie McMurray, AJ
Olmondinger drops 6 to 11, Trevor Bane stays at 10, Casey came up 5 to 8, but he's also
tied with Ryan Blaney who drops 6 slots today, but they're there behind Martin Truex
Junior at 7, Kyle Larson at 6, Joey Logano at 5 dropping 2, Chase Elliott jumps 4 to
the number 4 slot, Kezelowski jumps 9 to 3, Kurt Boosh drops 1 to 2, and Kevin Harvick
up 3 to the 1 slot.
That's probably not updated since the race ended, because there's probably some contradictions
there, versus who the way they're right, they're finished, but it is what it is.
Next week, we will be going to phoenix, hey, leave my home city alone.
I enjoyed the phoenix for the camping 4 to 500, it'll be on your local Fox affiliate,
not Fox Sports 1, Fox Proper, that will be at 330 p.m. Eastern, and that'll be next Sunday,
and then after that, you'll have the Auto Club 400, at the Auto Club Speedway, oddly
enough.
Alright, there's your NASCAR updates, we are going to go right now straight into some
TV talk.
A lot of movement in the TV industry this week, a couple of Fox FX renewals, did you catch any
taboo sir?
I actually saw something from it, but I didn't digest into it, like emotionally like
such a thing.
Well, it's all out there now, the finale was week before last, it has been renewed
for season 2, you go through about 6 of the 8 episodes, and you go, I don't know
how you'd get a season 2, and then you get to the end of episode 8 and you go, that's
how you're doing it, it's excellent series, excellent series, there's a lot of movies
that are out that way, when you watch the movie all the way through and you're like,
what the heck is this, and then you're watching about the last 15 minutes, you're like,
oh, it's like I see what you did, I'll see the sequel after this, so if FX is all
so given season 3 to baskets, never watched an episode, the CW has renewed the 100 for
a fifth season and Riverdale for season 2, this right now is my show, the best show you're
not watching, this is based on the Archie comics, and you think to yourself, an Archie
series really, but it's got a really cool twin peaks vibe to it and the casting, some of
these actors playing some of these roles like Veronica, Dead On, Betty, Dead On, Jugg,
like everybody's dead on to what you remember from the comics, it's it's creepy, and it's
a really, really well written show, so I'm actually caught up on all my shows, so anything
you want to put out there, so you're telling me, like it's worth the watch, because like
I watched Twin Peaks thinking it was about the Brestaurant that I go to you for football,
that was like 25 years ago, it's sort of 30 now, but I watched it, and I was like, oh this
is pretty good, it's not a real, it's been serious, it was pretty good, and so Archie and
I have a lot of those Archie comics in my classroom being a teacher and everything, with
Garfield as well, so it's like, here and that, and I was like, okay, so I have to watch this,
it was like, like, here's the thing, how long is the series, how long is the episodes,
there's one hour episodes, what's the storyline based on this? Okay, so it's one hour drama on the
CW on Thursday nights, and basically it deals with one of the set of one of the blossom twins,
the Sun and Jason, is killed over 4th of July holiday, and that's the major storyline, is trying
to find who killed him and things behind it, and all of these, there's a bunch of different stories
that all intertwine that revolve around Riverdale High School and all the kids there, it's
really, really well done, and it's got kind of a spooky vibe to it, which I dig, Luke Perry's in it,
skate all riches in it. So, so it's basically a, not so much a happy go lucky because, you know,
the Archie comics, they were, yeah, it's not as squeaky clean as you remember, your Archie comics
be exactly, it's not as squeaky clean, but it's like a good suspense story, absolutely, follow through
absolutely. It's like, okay, so it's like, it's actually more than the actual main base of the
comics, it's like, it expands it very nicely. Here's what we're looking for with the base of the
comics, it's like, okay, so it's like, here's the suspense, here's the horror, here's what I really
think. I, I, I, I did yard the first episode, like, I'll check it out, but I really don't see
myself watching, and I got to the end of it, and I was like, series record done, like, it's that good.
Okay, yeah, see, I might actually dig my nails into that, that sounds pretty interesting.
I'm telling you, you watched that first episode and you're just like, okay, I know, I love,
I love Archie comics and everything, they look really good, that they've always been great reads,
but don't worry, yeah, don't bring those expectations into the show because the show's a lot darker.
See, see, that's why I think is better about it because it's not the typical cookie cutter mill.
Oh, it's not rather, it's totally not. Check it out, and then let me know what you think of the
first episode, because I think this week was episode five or six. The CW app should have all the
episodes, or you could probably get them on demand. Let's see, a few debuted last Sunday on FX,
it got their highest series ratings debut since American crime story that people versus OJ Simpson.
I did not take this one on. I have too many shows now. I might go back later, but right now it's not
the time for that. Mr. Robot, they announced season three, Will debut in October.
A lot of people I know love this show, and they're adding the great Bobby Canna Valley,
Emmy Award winner and Coconut Creek High School alumni will be joining the cast in season three.
That's the HBO show, right? No, USA. USA, that's really malloc. Oh, yeah, that's someone that
comes on, I want to say, before CIS, before RAW and everything, right? I think it comes after RAW
normally on Mondays because it's a little more adult oriented, so I think it hears later in the
evening. Okay, yeah. Actually, no, I think it's after SmackDown, because I think it's on Tuesdays.
Okay, I've seen the stories about it. It's all I've heard is thumbs up from the show. I personally
haven't watched it. But I've heard that's one of those shows that you have to sit down and
concentrate on. One of those shows where you need to put it on the HBO or cinemas. I have heard that as well.
I have heard that as well. And it'd be great for that, you know, that storyline and everything like that.
So I think if you go into a season four something and you really want to dig into it and
think your story line that crap out of it and say, hey, look, you know, we'll take it off of a
local affiliates and everything like that with with, you know, normal thing off of basic cable put on
premium. Exactly. Put it on HBO, put it on cinemas. I feel like that would be an amazing story to tell.
AMC has announced the return of preacher, which will be on July the 19th.
Season one was really good. I wouldn't say great, but it was ruined. It borderline on great.
But the big news of the week was the announcement from HBO that Game of Thrones, the new season
debuts July the 16th. Kind of a different time for them to start a season because originally we thought
we weren't getting Game of Thrones until next year. So we found out we are getting it at the
summer show. So get ready. Some of the cast already saying whatever your expectations are,
we're going to exceed them. You're better because this last season held that bar real, real high.
My wife, a big fan of the Nashville show, Rachel Bills, Rachel Bills, and I did say that correctly.
And Caitlyn double day will be joining the cast. They've had some really big cast shakeups.
And if you watch the show, you're not caught up. I'm not going to spoil that for you. I tried to
rush those in the chat room that on on a Riverdale, Marisol Nichol plays Veronica's mother.
I'm telling you the casting. You watch these and you're like, how do they find real life
burdens to these people at scary? Oh oh oh oh oh, backtrack a little bit. Sure, how long or what days
are these episodes you know produced? Where are they shown at like CW Thursday nights?
Eight o'clock central. So nine o'clock Eastern. So just Thursday.
Just Thursday. Sometimes they like, last week they showed the the pilot
because legends of tomorrow took the week off, so they showed the pilot in where that
normally would be to try to get people interested. Okay. But it's normal time
slot is Thursday nights at 10 Eastern 9, 9, 7. Yeah, I've heard thumbs up. So I
want to see where it's at. I just, I just, it's a central nine Eastern. Yeah,
eight central nine Eastern. Let's see what else we got going on. A foxes Xman
series has a title. It will be called Gifted. It's going to be about a pair of
parents who give birth to a mutant child, and they go on the run from the
government. That's all right. So Donny Darko for him. So Donny Darko Jason Isaacs
was announced this week as the captain for the new Star Trek series with their
saying should debut this summer. What you don't hear is the sound of me holding
my breath. Because this thing just keeps getting pushed and keep getting
pushed. And I'm going to tell you something CBS, and I think you hear me knocking and I
think I'm coming in. Here's the deal. You're going to lose people by putting
this on CBS all access. Because I'm going to be honest with you. I ain't paying
for it. So just be aware. And maybe in a tricky, I understand exactly what
you're saying. I love Star Trek. I'm not going to pay for this on the
guy who has the weird space in between my, my ring finger in my middle finger.
And I had that weird space. But with the way things are, you're not going to make me
purchase this app. You're not going to make me purchase anything. You need to kind of
put it on a little more, you know, class A and everything like that. It's, I kind of
agree with Rob. You're not going to make me purchase it. Just put it on. You have a great
product. Just, just, just, just kind of just put it on without trying to be
fail. You're about to get ready. It's not HBO. It's not cinema. Just let
people enjoy the French as they love and they bleed for. So, so really enjoy.
Let's see. John Crier is going to be on a pilot for ABC. Very, very soon
called losing it, not based on the Tom Cruise film for the 80s. It's going to be
about three misfit adult siblings and their parents who are all losing it in
different ways, whether it's divorce, new Perry Hood, new parent hood, or early on
set dementia. So, this ought to be interesting. TV on DVD and Blu-ray this week
season one of six, the show is called six. So, beware that.
F is for family, which is an animated series that Netflix carried with a great
bill burr. That season one. F is from friends who do stuff together. He was for
you and me. Season three of Z Nation. I didn't realize that show was
still on. Season two of the unbreakable kidney Schmidt. I have this in my queue and I
have not watched yet. And then I have a big thing about Ellie Kemper. So, it is
the greatest Netflix show. And I love orange is a new black, but Kemi Schmidt
is the best Netflix show that is out there today. Drunk history season four this
week. Jeffery, good things about that show. The complete series of the mod squad.
So, case you didn't want to, they wanted to buy all in one box. There you go.
Also, the complete series. If you remember the animated cops was an acronym.
They were like police guys that had like superpowers and stuff in the 80s. Joyce and
the wild warriors, the complete series and other animated series. Also, the complete
series of Peeleys playhouse. Available together all in one set this week.
Oh, sorry. That's probably the definitive gold box collection for Twin Peaks.
We'll talk about that later. Power Rangers, SPD, the complete collection. And are
you ready for the Jetsons and WWE Robo WrestleMania?
I watched an episode of NXT. Did you just shake your head as rapidly as I did when I
did? We talked about this a few weeks ago and I was like, why is this a thing?
But how much worse is that? Or the Flintstones version? I feel like the
Jetsons one. Because who are as much as it is? Why was Frenchy frozen? And then they unfreeze
the other suit. I'm very confused. Okay. So, the people who are listening to this right now,
we don't understand why big show is our guy. You know what I think is doing over the
calics. But I love my Frenchy. Don't get me wrong. But this is just this, I don't, I got nothing.
I don't either.
No, what we do? This is on you. I'm leaving. And the main guy that they
all out to take on Frenchy is Roman Reigns. So you got that going for you. You are
listening to the clubhouse podcast. We want to take just a moment out and reiterate the
huge announcement that I made on Friday if you missed it on our social media. We are 13 days away.
Two weeks from yesterday, we are going to be doing a live show. We've been teasing this for a couple
of weeks. We wanted to make sure that we had all the details worked out. This is happening.
March the 25th is a Saturday. If you are in the Dallas Fort Worth area,
we are going to be live in Frisco. Frisco's up on the north side for something called the Texas
pinball festival. We got the details locked down just the other day. We're going to be doing a
live show there on Saturday, March 25th. Probably the timeframe at this point. We're looking
at two to four. We're going to be setting up right outside because basically here's the deal.
Go to Texas pinball dot com. That's their website where you can find out all the information.
It's a Friday Saturday Sunday event where you can go and pay up. You pay a cover charge to get in.
And it's an entire convention center. They don't walk off any part of it. It's the entire thing
up there in Frisco, which is huge. It's going to be filled with video games, pinball machines
every era from the early days until the brand new stuff in every year. This will be my third
year attending my first year doing the show there. But every year they debut huge brand new pinball
machines two years ago was when they debuted the WrestleMania pinball game, both the regular
and the legends. I played both in their amazing. Last year they debuted Game of Thrones,
Ghostbusters and the amazing Spider-Man. Don't they haven't said yet what they're debuting this
here. But I'm seeing some rumors online that there's a brand new Jetsons table and they may have.
I don't know if they will or not, but it's going to debut some way. It's Jetsons versus the big show.
But also in attendance this year a couple of big celebrities. Elvira,
Mr. So the dark. She will be there. Sam Jones who plays Flash Gordon. He's going to be there.
Flash Gordon. I saw him over over the previous year. This is a big deal.
And it's go to the website for tickets. It's an amazing value. Once you get in the door and you
can come and go as much as you please if you bought whether you buy a day pass or a weekend pass,
you get a little bracelet. So there's going to be last year there were food trucks out in the
parking lot. There's like a swap meet where people sell replacement parts for people that are
enthusiasts that collect these things. You're going to see stuff that you haven't seen in a
lifetime at this thing. And I'd consider myself a stand-up video game enthusiast ever since I was a kid.
I'm finding things at this deal that I've never even heard of. See what I'm really thinking about
with your discussion, everything. And me doing past panels and everything for Dallas,
Comic-Con, I really think if you were to contact the main booker or whatever and have them
like do a side project with Dallas Comic-Con and you get your hands into into the park,
I feel that would be a great connection. Because I'm me being doing the panels.
I've met great people from the voice of Ash catch them. You know, talk a rotted from
Godzilla movies and everything like that. I've met great people. But if you have people from
both industries, from pinball gaming and everything to comic books with everything like that.
And if you're somebody who has this really, really good pinball, they actually have tournaments
that you'll be able to enter and you can win pretty big prizes. They've got great merchandise that they sell.
There's even some great vendors that show up at these deals that you'll be able to see some
of the stuff that people I saw last year. I saw a guy that was selling a lamp that was made up of the
the headline glasses from video games and it just looked amazing. And everything's on free play
once you get in the door. So you don't have to find a change machine and bring extra money to play games.
You will spend that money from the what you pay to get in, you'll spend that playing games.
How long is the distance between that convention versus the National Video Game Museum?
Is that what it is? Yes, the National Video Game Museum. It's not very far, actually.
The Texas pinball festival, which will be at the Frisco Convention Center. Right, right there,
right there by Stonebriler. The National Video Game Music Museum is maybe five minutes up the
It's right there, you know where that cinema is? Is it across from the star? Is that because I think
it's a little bit farther south in each. You know where the cinema is right there? The downtown Frisco Square.
It's right next to that. It's just south of that. Okay. So it's not me maybe five minutes.
And I've been to the National Video Game Museum, which is also amazing.
It's I'm at the website right now. There's a lot of cool stuff. The the new logo and merchandise look
great. I'm a big fan of their stuff. They've got to you know the come and take it logo with the
with the cannonball. They've got a t-shirt that says come and flip it and it's got the flipper with a pinball
above it. I just get in trouble for tilting the mission. Yeah, and as I'm telling you, there is so much
stuff that's available for you to do. And the the, like I said, the money you'll spend
from your ticket, you will at least be able to spend that on all the games that you're going to play.
And what's really great is everybody's real respectful. Like if you've got two or three people
that you can play a four player, you might get a fourth. Like, hey, can I join you and boom and you're
just playing games? And it's not just pinball. There's old video games there. There's a really great
vendor on the huge fan of called VR cabs. The only way I can explain is they will build you a pinball
cabinet that has LED screens in it in a computer. So you could have like a hundred pinball games
in one machine. I need to find a Pokemon or a Splatoon pinball machine. That would pretty
we're going to be there on the 25th. It is the 24th, 25th and 26th. It's all weekend long
Friday night from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 30
p.m. We are going to be there doing our show live. We really want everybody to come out. Go to
Texas pinball.com. That's their website. Find out everything you need to know. This is an amazing
event. I just happened to stumble on it a couple of years ago and I went then. I went last year
and even if I wasn't doing the show there, I would be there this year. Because I'm going to go
I'm going to probably spend all day. This is one of the most fun events that we get to do and we
get to show there. So we want the Empire to come out in full force. If you're in the Dallas
Fort Worth area, if you're planning on being in the Dallas Fort Worth area that weekend,
we would love to see you come on by. There's also hopefully maybe another special guest that we're
trying to get on the show that weekend that if that happens, you're going to listen to me
blither like an idiot. But also our friend DJ Tricky Kid who we met the weekend of marvelous
New Year's Eat Nerdiers. He's going to be doing his podcast there. So we might have a little
crossover. Maybe he'll do our show. We'll do his show. And it's really, really going to be a lot of fun.
It's a family event. Bring the entire family. Because this is going to be amazing. There's a lot
to do even around there. So if you want to take a break and get some fresh air, there's a ton of
restaurants. There's tons of stuff to do in downtown Frisco. And just like Steven said, the national
video game museum is right up the road, too. And if you've never done that, that's an amazing
experience that I am a huge fan of. So to recap, we are 13 days away from doing the show live
at the Texas pinball festival. You do not want to miss this. This is going to be one of the coolest
things we get to do all year. And that's also going to kick off. We're going to be pretty much
full throttle for about a month after that event. So get your podcast app ready because you're going
to get a lot of podcasts that's going to download to you from this show starting that day.
All right, Steven, you're ready to move on a little bit. Oh yeah. All right. Let us move on to
little POI. POI stands for Person of interest. It is a segment that we do on this show where we take a
person or an entity. And we debate their greatness or lack thereof. And I'm actually giving
POI to Steven this week because he's got a very interesting topic and it's very relevant right now.
Go ahead, sir. All right. So this week is NFL free agency. I've had a lot of people talk to me
about what about the draft, what about the draft. And actually here and back on this show,
I've heard a lot of things about Mike Mayock, you know, everyone who does the mock drafts and
everything like that. And which was POI a couple of weeks ago. Exactly. And I feel like it's a
wonderful topic, especially in today's day and a day and age. You hear a lot about NBA,
you hear a lot about NFL and everything like that. But you more worried about the NFL and
what their product does. So when we talk about the drafts, I was like, oh yeah, we need our
team to grow at dry. You can't bank on what anyone says until the free agency. Well, it's like
there was like I heard earlier this week on the Bob and Tom show, chick said on March 9th,
it's happy and happy NFL New Year. Because the new year has officially started,
free agency is officially a thing. And there's been a lot of movement already. Oh, we could
we could do an entire show just on the movement since free agency began. And as we're gearing up,
you know, the draft, we're still what six weeks away from the draft. It's April, the end of April.
It's the second second week of April, I believe. It's out in Chicago. I think over in a millennial
park, I think I think it's where it's at. It's, of course, I could be completely wrong. But that was
where it was about a year or two ago. April 27 through the 29th in Philly. Oh, it's in Chicago.
It's in Philly. Oh, remember they're traveling it around. Chicago was last year. Oh,
so they're traveling around. They stuck with Chicago because they didn't want to do
radio city music call on, of course, me visiting my family up there. I'm like, yeah, I can go there
whenever I want. So April 27 through the 29th in Philly will be, will be the official draft this year.
Oh, that's going to be scary for the draft picks. If you drafted as a cowboy,
a giant or red skin, I hope you don't get hit with batteries, but I appreciate. I appreciate you.
Did Bruce and a few. Yeah. But yeah, I agree with you free agency. And I don't know
maybe it's because I'm paying a more attention. But I feel like in the last three or four days,
free agency this year has already been more active than it's been in recent years,
especially from a trade standpoint. You had major names that were moving. Originally,
the cowboys were going to cut Roma. Now they're going to hold on to them and a trade.
Oswiler to Cleveland, who's not even going to keep them. Talk of cousins going to San
Francisco, which now I'm hearing rumors that they put a tighter franchise tag on him. So he may
not be moving. And that's after Washington gets rid of their GM Colin Kaepernick exercising his
option to get out. The dolphins Anthony Fazon are returning to the dolphins. The dolphins made
a little bit of noise this week, which I'm not used to this early in free agency. The buck in
here's as well. I think with the NFL free agency nowadays, all it is is who can make the
biggest splash and see most places are who can spend the most money and us being dolphin
fans. Because we are. Lifetime baby. We can understand we're like, all right, we're going to spend
$8 million on Mike Wallace. Someone like that who, you know, doesn't really make a big impact,
but they had a good season that year before. And then you look at the dolphins this year who
re-sign Kenny Stills, re-sign D on branch, re-sign, extend Cameron Wake, extend Jarvis
on your extend Rashad Jones, guys like that who deserve the contract extensions, build upon your
own. And then you have guys who, you know, you want to sign and do all these great things with
like Cowboys want to do something with Tony Romo, but then they don't understand what they're
really doing because I don't think they really have much trust and and DAC Prescott because
he's like a hard G3. He's a guy where you can roll them out and everything like that. But
the thing with him is he's going to be like everyone of those quarterbacks who sniff out you
understand the game plan. He's not going to be as good as he is. The running back is going to
still be great, but as a quarterback when you do something like Andrew Luck or RG3, you're not going
to be that good. I was surprised in the decision by the Cowboys to to keep him and not let him go
and do what every wanted to do. That did surprise me a little bit. I don't think it was any
form of fear that he was going to go to somewhere like Washington or within the division because
they had the code on quote, gentlemen's agreement, which was kind of unstable in itself. But
you hope that you get into Denver. I think because Houston, oh man, I just don't bet that
defense in the NFL. But that didn't keep him off the field. So he has to stay in behind that line.
I can roll with you. But man. It's still a top 10 offensive line. I would
take him over Denver for the simple fact that you actually have a number one receiver within the
top 10 you could throw two. DeAndre Hopkins is no joke. He's like a brand in Marshall. He's like an
Odo Beckham. He's like a Jarvis Landry. He's the guy you could throw two and nine times out of
10 he'll catch it. And I feel like Tony Romo, if he were to end up in Houston, that'd be a dangerous
team. Very dangerous team. If he can stay healthy, that's the whole thing with Romo. He's got
to stay healthy. And this is why I love the NFL because we can always talk the NFL always.
And that's the genius of the marketing of the NFL because they space everything out so that
they're never the relevance doesn't go away too much. In, in a time where we're going to talk
about the big headline coming up right after this, you know, you were on the home stretch in the
NBA, we're on the home stretch in the NHL, majorly baseball about to fire up and we're still
talking the NFL because the NFL is like, I mean, we had the baseball class that coming up with
that's already going on. Yeah. I saw last night or earlier today with the Dominican Republic and
USA at Marlons Park in USA, USA. I mean, I love America too. I live here. But so if I were to
bet money on a team, it'd be the Dominican Republic. I mean, they have some studs, but either way,
it's just even with the NFL, it's just like, you look at these guys, free agency,
everything like that. You know, just looking on your teams to bank on these guys and you're
spending your overpaying for guys who maybe be, maybe be worse, maybe three million, four million.
As a dolphins fan, we looked at Kenny Stills going into the offseason. He's, he's a seven
point five million dollar receiver, but people were looking to him at 12, 13 million dollars a year
and I was like, ah, no, he's just a deep threat. He's not a disson, disson Jackson. He's not, you know,
a terrell part. He's not one of those guys who can alter your franchise. And so we, we look at it now
a week after the free agency start. You still got guys like Adrian Peterson. We got Adrian Peterson
and stuff like that, who are still free agents, Roma, who is, I mean, he's still a technically
cowboy because they kind of pulled the the trade tag on him, but we don't exactly know, but you
got a lot of guys who who are out there who you looked at like Jamal Charles who you're just sitting
there and he's like, oh, well, that's the future of our franchise. Pay him X amount of money, but
teams don't want to pay that much for him. So it is free agency. It is underway. We're going to see
probably a lot more big moves this week. As we complete the first free week of free agency and teams
are gearing up the combine just wrapped up in Indianapolis. So we're going to see how well that
works out. Let's move on and talk about the big announcement of the day because today is selection
Sunday. We have your complete brackets. I just during that last segment, I was signaling to to
Steven where his team wound up. Here's your one seats. Villanova, Kansas, North Carolina, Gonzaga.
I don't know that there's any real surprises there. No, Gonzaga might have gotten a little shaky,
but they finished strong. They made a run of the table and think got a little bit strange there
for a minute, but they did hold off and make it all happen. Trying to get you a full bracket here.
So we can see, I can't really get this one up here. So I can get a bigger version of it.
See, because there's a lot going on in these brackets and I would like to get a bigger version of
it so I can see it. Let's see their printable version. That's what I wanted. That'll help me.
All right. In the east, Villanova will play the result of playing game number two,
Wisconsin and eight seed will play Virginia Tech.
Nine seed. You're five, twelve in the east is Virginia versus North Carolina Wilmington.
My beloved Gators will take on Eastern Tennessee State and the four 13 matchup. SMU
gets a six seed. As they will play the winner of the first play in game,
Baylor gets new Mexico State in a three 14 matchup. Your seven 10 in the east is South Carolina
and Marquette. Duke gets the two seed in the east as they will play Troy in the 15.
In the Midwest, Kansas has your number one. They'll take the winner of play in game three.
Your beloved hurricane surrogate the eight seed.
Jim puff first round matchup as they will play Michigan State in the west.
Jim Leronaga to coach that team. That seems fine. Well, they're playing very well.
At least to the sweet 16, I don't see the hurricanes going up beyond that, but I trust
Jim Leronaga and what a fantastic team. But you know what, if they can get past Michigan State,
that's a huge deal because Michigan State is one of those teams that will reach up and fight.
Thank you. I always stayed as a five seed as they'll play number 12 in Nevada.
Purdue number four will play 13 Vermont in the six 11 matchup, Creighton.
Man, they're the main of my existence a few years ago. They take on the 11 seed in Rhode Island.
Or again, is the three seed as they take on Iona in the 14. Michigan gets a seven seed in the Midwest.
They'll take on 10 seed Oklahoma State and Louisville is a two seed as they take on Jacksonville
State in the 15. In the South region, North Carolina does have your number one seed.
They will play Texas Southern. Congratulations to them for getting into the tournament.
Arkansas in the eight seed will take on Seaton Hall as a nine. Your five 12 in the South
is Minnesota versus Middle Tennessee State. Butler gets the four seed in the South as they take on
Winthrop. Winthrop. The six seed in the South goes to Cincinnati as they'll play the winner of
play in game four. You see, I think, Cincinnati is coming up. They're a good team. They're a good team.
You see, LA gets the three seed. Probably shocking a few people with all the talk about them,
but I'm kind of okay with this as they take on Kenstein the 14 seed. Dayton is the seven
which a toss state always a team to keep an eye on. That's your seven 10 matchup. And your
two 15 in the South is Kentucky versus Northern Kentucky. In the West, Gonzaga is your final number one
seed as we said earlier. They will take on the 16 seed of South Dakota State.
Let's see where am I. North Western does get in the tournament for the first time ever in the
history of the school. North Western is in. They're in eight seed. They'll play Vandy at the nine.
All right. So we have to enjoy that game when it's on ESPN 2.
Ha, Van built my beat them by 35, but it's going to be enjoyable for this. This is it's a Cinderella.
It's a victory for Northwestern. You know, how many people at North West at ESPN,
Jay Adon Day, Mike will buy a lot of those Kevin Blacks to all Northwestern. Greg,
Sarah Spain, I believe, went to Northwestern. See, as a couple of team, you can watch them in a
whole game. You know they're going to do well, but I mean, it's a basketball team. It's almost
the first time in the history of the school. The first time in the history of the school,
the Division of Tourism. And see where you go. Notre Dame in the five seed plays Princeton at 12.
Your fourth 13 is West Virginia Bucknell. Your 611 is Maryland versus Xavier.
FSU gets a three seed in the West as they'll play Florida Gulf Coast. Formerly shot this
party to Texas now. Yeah, it's right. We don't like, we don't like Florida State.
St. Mary's will play VCU in the 710 and your 2015 in the West is Arizona, North Dakota.
So I'll try to get the troops around it up so we can get our picks done and we'll give you
updates as it goes on. Tourism starts Thursday. I'm going to lose. I'm just letting y'all know
when I pick Miami to win it all and they lose in the second round. Let's just be like,
I put my money on Steven because he was wrong. Let me see if they've got the
because they don't have the playing games on that bracket. I want to see if the playing games are here.
I'm going to faster than my pull-a-laptop. We'll want to be like, I can't just win in the whole
tournament, but I'm biased. I can't just, they're tough. And they're always tough.
It's what I got into. But keep your eye on the zags, man.
Okay, so your Eastern playing games are to play Villanova. It's the winner of Mount St. Mary's
and the University of New Orleans. Yes, you want to get your ass kicked by Bill.
Your playing game to play SMU will be the winner of Providence and USC.
If Providence wins, they're going to mop the floor with SMU. So all my Dallas affiliates and
everyone who's over here in the DFW Metroplex enjoy that losses. Best of joy. To play Kansas in the
Midwest region, you have North Carolina Central and UC Davis. Rest in peace to both of y'all.
Kansas does not give up. Let's see who else we have to hear. In the South region,
to get to play Cincinnati, that'll be the winner of Kansas State and Wake Forest.
I think Wake Forest and Cincinnati would be actually be a very good game.
And I feel like it'd be a 12-point difference based on whoever starts. I mean, you have a really
good two and a really good three over there in Cincinnati. Who, I mean, I don't know about your
pointy car position, but you guys have two guys who can go out and steal the show and
really put up some points. And I feel that that could be the game of the whole tournament
at the first round at least. So those are your, those are your play in games. Again,
tournament starts Thursday morning. You want to play hooky? I'm not going to tell on you.
But that's the big thing. So all right, let's get into some music talk.
We have to do NBA standing. So what do we do? We've done so much time with college. We forgot
about the NBA. It's NBA. We can balance. All right, let's get to the standings. My apologies.
I'm just so excited. Love March Madness. I really, really do. So especially since I don't have
to work it anymore. In the Eastern Conference, the Brooklyn Nets. Oh, a 11 and 53 lost to the
beloved Dallas Mavericks. Oh, it's speaking of your Mavericks. Congratulations to Dirk.
Here are the 33,000 points this week. And on the on the on the good side on the bad side of the NBA,
Andrew Boge, trade decrees one and yours himself in in this first minute. But Brooklyn 11 and 53.
They're 29 back. They are 12 and a half games back on Philly. Philly is two and a half back on the
nicks. The nicks are 12 back on Toronto Boston right now. Kind of running away with the
their three games up in that division. By the way, the 76ers have lost four in a row. I can't wait to
talk about our division office because I'm not a fan of that team. But when we talk about them,
I have a lot. All right to talk about Central Division. The Chicago Bulls three games below
500, but they're 12 and a half back. They've lost four in a row where has Mill Walkie who's a
game ahead of them has one six in a row. They are a half game back on Detroit on a two game
win streak Detroit. I have game back on Indiana, but Indiana still 10 and a half back on Cleveland.
In the South East division or Lando magic. 19 games below 500. They've lost two in a row.
They're 18 games back. They're six and a half back on Charlotte, Charlotte, three back on my
beloved heat. My heat are playing ball. See, that's what I was about to talk to. I don't like play
on him a heat ball. But Deon waiters is clutch. Okay. For those of you that had Deon waiters as
the difference maker, you could pick up your waitings and customers. Super stars. They started the
year with 11 and 30 and now they're a half a game behind the eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
What do you do? My question is, who is Deon waiters? Why is he there? And then my
corn draw gets you in everything like that. I apologize for the volume. But oh my, why are they?
They hate them and they're hanging off. But they're still not going to have back in the
division right now. They're losing to the Pacers. But they're only half a game back from eighth
place in which they face Cleveland, which they have not lost to Cleveland with the bronze starting
or not. I think Deon waiters is the X factor, but the playoffs. They're five games back on Atlanta
and Lannas four and a half back on the wizards. The wizards are on a five game win streak. What
is going on in the NBA? That's the team I'm terrified in the Eastern Conference is the wizards.
I feel like them or the Boston Celtics are going to take the Eastern Conference if not Deon
waiters will take. Well, in the Western Conference, in the Western Conference, you've already
got two teams that have locked playoff spots. It's going to be in the Pacific and in the Pacific
division, the Lakers are 25 games below 500. They're 31 and a half back. They're a game and a half
back on the phoenix suns. Phoenix is three back on Sacramento. Sacramento's lost eight in a row, sir.
Sacramento is 15 back on the Clippers. The Clippers are 12 back on Golden State Golden State's
lost three in a row, but they've locked in a playoff spot. In the Southwest division,
the New Orleans Pelicans are really bad. They're 25 and a half back. They are a game. They are
two and a half back on Dallas. Dallas is eight and a half back on Memphis, Memphis, nine back on Houston,
Houston, six and a half back on San Antonio. San Antonio has locked the playoff spot as well.
Memphis is lost five in a row. But think about those games in a half behind those teams that
they're still in the playoffs. And the East, and the East, if you're two games back, you're still
in the playoffs. They're all bad teams. In the Northwest division, Minnesota, 11 games below
500, but 13 and a half back. They're a game and a half back on Portland. Portland is two back
on Denver, Denver, six back on Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City now has fallen to four back on Utah.
Yeah, let that sink in. John Stockton. John Stockton. All right. So here's your eastern
conference. If the playoff started today, let me just, okay. So Steven said, the the heat
are now a half game back from the eight seed. The eight seed, if the playoff started today,
we'd go to Milwaukee, Milwaukee's on a six game win streak. So if it started today,
and Chicago's only a half game back on Miami. So that eight in Jimmy, that eight slot is jammed
up right now. But Milwaukee would play Cleveland Detroit would play Washington. In Vienna would play
Boston, Toronto would play Atlanta in the East. I'd be scared for Toronto from the eastern conference.
I'm either scared. If I'm Cleveland up Toronto or Miami, if Miami sneaks in. Okay. So I'm not
in the west. You've got a bit of a log jam, too, because Denver right now has the eight seed.
Portland's two back, Dallas is two and a half back for the eight seed. Come on Matt.
Denver would play Golden State. Memphis would play San Antonio. Oklahoma City would play Houston.
That's a dangerous matchup for Oklahoma City. Houston and San Antonio are the teams that are
scary right now. They're scary right now. And the clippers would play you. The clippers would play you
talk. Yeah. If the play I've started today. Yeah. Take take you to all you want. But it's going to be
Houston. The San Antonio and the Washington comments finals. All right. Let's do some music talk and
make sure I'm right in the right place for that. I've got the wrong. Rush you were asking about the
game show time. I want to show what you were asking about. I'm not sure what you're talking about
there. If you can clarify that for Matt appreciate it. Music news. As we know, Beyonce pregnant with
the twins, she has backed out of her headlining gig at Coachella because of it. The Lady Gaga
will be replacing her. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So you got there going. We've been talking a lot
last couple weeks because summer is coming. A lot of your big tours are being announced. Uh,
co-headlining tour this summer will be corn and stone sour for the kids with the clothes in the
hair. And Slayer and the Lamb of God will be touring together. Yeah. I'm 16 again. Great.
Oh, oh, we didn't do that. Rush. We did not get that down. I'll have to do it next week.
He has about the poised differential for the for the nets. And I've already closed out of that screen.
Oh, the net. So remind me that because of the worst team in the rest. I'll give you $5.
Never asked that question again. But we have to put the game show. We've never never showed this
never. Uh, no. Adele has announced that she is officially married. We had some speculation a couple
of weeks ago, but she is officially married. So congratulations to the Adele. Only one music
new release that I recognize this week brand new album from DePesh mode this week.
It's a great tour because they can. It's called Spirits when a Chad's favorite bands.
Gotta be respectful of the man's opinion. One of my old friend JP's favorite bands too.
Well, you know, is one of this. All right. It's like one over squirrels too. We have one. We have one
in memoriam to talk about this week. I don't know. Um, I have to actually, I have to pull this
one up because I just remembered. Uh, passed away. I believe I want to say on Thursday. Why did
that not go? There we go. He pat. I'm sorry. He passed away last Tuesday. Uh, from the world of
professional wrestling at the age of 68, the great outlaw, Ron Bass. I saw that. Passed away.
He was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Real name Ronald Hurd, worked in the Gulf Coast Territory.
Did a lot of work in the NWA, cowboy, Ron Bass, Sam Oliver Bass, outlaw, Ron Bass, depending on the
territory. Uh, worked for championship wrestling from Florida, which is why I knew him so well.
Also teamed with Black Bart as the long writers. Also teamed N feudal with Barry Windham.
I remember a match from him against Kamala. Him and his tag team partner back in WCCW.
Took on Kamala and Kamala demolished them in 3.4 minutes. Uh, just remember all of that.
Join W during the World Wrestling Federation in 1987. Uh, let's see. Was, well, one of
a midcard or rest of the lot against Hillbilly, Jim Lannie Poffo and Sam Houston. Lannie Poffo.
He actually wrestled in the original Survivor Series on the Hunky Conkman's team.
Also participated in the very first rumble at, uh, and the 20 man battle wrestle many of four
eliminated by the junkyard dog. Uh, let's see. He was also in the 1988 King of the Ring
Tournament where he qualified. You remember who he beat to qualify for that tournament?
It'll be good. Sean Michaels. Oh, rockers Sean. Yeah, but then was paid by Ted D. V.
I'll see the fake in injury. Uh, if you did with with beef cake after that.
Brutus the boss. Uh, let's see. Uh, he also was, uh, he, he co-capped in the team with Hunky
Talkman that took on, um, the team captain by beef cake and ultimate warrior. Was that the same year
the rock debut? Oh, no, that was way before I was 88. Oh, let's see. He was a one time
NAWA international tag team champion with Stan Hansen. NAWA for a behemion. That was really a thing.
Uh, global tag team NAWA for to with wind them for the heavyweight champion twice southern heavyweight
champion twice US tag team championship four times. Actually one time he was champion with one man gang.
NAWA national heavyweight championship in Georgia. That's different. He was one time there.
Uh, let's never work for WCW and WA. You could round it up for WCW? Well, that's what the NBA became.
NWA became WCW. Yes, but I don't think when they were brand it, I don't think he was. I think he had he had joined
WWF by that. Yes, that's all masking because I know T and A had NWA for about five years. Yeah, they were actually
NAWA T and A was the actual name of the company for over five years, but they had the belt. Yeah, when Ron Killing
Ken Shamrock really never liked that belt. I never liked that belt. School NWA belt man. Tell us the best
belt in wrestling. I was I like the world championship. I was living in a fan of the belt and the NWA TV belt. I was a big fan.
No, um, it's right yesterday. We did we got to report that. Uh, Joni sledge from sister sledge. If you
remember, we are family. She passed away. I believe it's 67. I can do it. And singer Johnny Page. Thank you,
Russ, for for getting that updated on that. Let us move on. Do some NHL talk real quick.
If I can get back to our need to be. All right, NHL standings Eastern conference at Lannick division.
It's always good to see the Detroit Red Wings in last place. Just makes me happy.
They are 21 points out of first place right now.
They are five points behind the Buffalo sob race. I was good to see them in the basement as well.
My beloved Florida Panthers are only a point ahead of Buffalo. And my beloved Tampa Bay Lightning
or four points ahead of them. Tampa Bay three points behind Taranthal Taranthal Taranthal Taranthal
two back on Boston Boston is six back on Montreal and Oterua. Oterua has won six in a row.
Where has my beloved Panthers have lost five in a row. In the mentioned home.
Withers with y'all Mary auger the Florida Panthers 97 year old y'all Mary Y'all
auger who's actually playing pretty well. He's so good at his age. Yeah. The New Jersey Devils in the
Metropolitan Division. They are 33 points out of first place. So I'm going to say they are out of it.
By the way, the Devils have lost 10 in a row sir. They are three points behind the Carolina
Hurricanes. Carolina five back on Philly Philly five back on the islanders. The islanders are 13
back on the Rangers who are four points behind. Columbus is two back on Pittsburgh. By the way,
Pittsburgh's one five in a row has there only a point back on Washington who's lost three in a row.
In the Western Conference, as I click over to that particular screen, in the central division that
has no Eastern or Western, the Colorado avalanche are 51 points back right now. Never when they
used to be somebody and they're 23 points behind the stars. Who did they pay? I don't know,
but Dallas is two back on Winnipeg. Winnipeg is nine back on St. Louis. St. Louis,
two back on Nashville. Nashville is 14 back on Chicago. Chicago is only a point back on Minnesota.
St. Louis is one four in a row and Winnipeg's lost three in a row. In the Pacific division,
the Arizona coyotes. They're only 31 points out. They are just 31. They're nine back on
that cover. Vancouver's lost three straight. Vancouver is seven back on the Kings, the Kings are
seven back on Edmonton. Edmonton is a point behind Anachheim. Anachheim is tied with Calgary,
but Calgary is on a nine game Win streak right now. It's a shame. They just just made the list.
And Calgary is seven back on San Jose. So there's your NHL updates as we're getting closer to
Stanley Cup playoffs. We are going to combine entertainment and sports because we're going to talk
a little pro wrestling right now. Let's talk fast lane. And yes, we have to. Why? We sat through it.
Oh, we're going to talk. I'm doing it. I didn't order for this. I'm leaving a prediction results.
Chad was a do not appear. Don had the worst record of the night. He went six and four. He went six and
we actually had two gimmies because there were two matches that were not originally listed.
So I gave us all credit for both of those matches. This is our own match and the shame is match.
We're kind of both on both. Andrew and Doc went seven and three. LA went eight and two. And
you and I went nine and one. That's that's my best performance ever. It would pay for view.
So here's your points updates. Chad currently in last with 11 points. He's got a 423 winning
percent. I'm not lost. You are not. You're actually in the middle of the pack right now.
Yay! Andrew is the point better than Chad. He's at 462. You have 14 points. You're about 500.
You have a 538 winning percentage right now. As a dolphin's fan. That's not normal.
Doc and LA are tied with 15. That's a 577 win percentage. And I am now tied with Don.
Don is not running away with it at this point of the year. He and I have 18 points where it is
692 win percentage. I feel like Don would be right more if he didn't bet with his emotions.
But you know what? He always wins though. Like I can't debate. But he always wins. He's always
going against like people like Cena and Roman. I'm like, dude, just just for more. Don't deal with your
horses. Don't win the directions. No, that's the problem. All right, Doc. You and I are the only
one here. So we're the only ones that can really talk about grading. Now you said it was going to be a
C plus. I went straight down the middle with a C. What are your thoughts now?
I actually agree with the C. Like I gave it a C plus. Just I thought it would be better than
the elimination chamber, which it was. I still give it a C. A C in between a C and a C plus.
But I kind of agree with you. I'm kind of floating in there too. It wasn't terrible.
But it also wasn't like right. It was okay. There was a lot of storytelling and a lot of those
matches, which which we don't get from all over your life. You and I'll tell you what. It was better
than the one before it. Oh yeah. It was better than Rumble was better than than chamber. I feel like
there was a lot of storytelling there. And I feel like it was a decent paper view. It was good not great.
I've been saying that a lot like what's going on. So we got our next person to be inducted into
the Hall of Fame, the great ravishing Rick Roode, totally unbored with this. That man should have been
in a long time ago. But he's not Bobby. He is glorious. He is glorious. Did you see there's been rumored
to be your celebrity inductee this year? Yes. Not rude. Maybe. Because there's somebody
that's going to be in Orlando for WrestleMania weekend. So a lot of people are thinking
Cindy Lopper will be your celebrity inductee this year. You and both. You and both. I know what
her to be and they're like four years ago. So I'm excited. That's that that's your case.
Let's go to RAW notes. The show both shows this week. We're tough to get through. I didn't watch
RAW. I kind of predicted Smackdown all the way through. I didn't get through RAW though.
I watched NXT though and I watched my current Athena put on a show to see for those who don't know
who that is. That's Amber Moon. Amber Moon. She's going by. She is Athena here in the DFW Metro
play. She's a great friend of mine and Nintendo enthusiast at Pokemon enthusiast. I love her.
It's always good to see a local girl do good. And she has done well. I'm excited for her to go against
one of my favorite women wrestlers of this modern era. Oscar at WrestleMania weekend. So I'm excited
about that. That's not a match for takeover. That's not a restaurant break. That is a is that official?
Oh yeah. William Regal announced it. It's very nice. Amber Moon.
Mania weekend. That's no restaurant break. Right man. That's going to really do it.
That's going to that we're going to be all weekend. I think we're going to be a Friday night.
That Friday night will be doing our hopefully our show some somewhere else. It's not official yet.
So I can't announce it. But Saturday night, I have every intention of back to backing the
Hall of Fame and takeover. So we'll be able to watch takeover live and in Sunday's WrestleMania.
So so Saturday, if you all get busy and you're like, we're going to do a lay show. You can come
over to my place because you all will be close to me. And then we could do a show over my
place. So awesome. During the chairs shot. Did we have a borderline chair shot at the head
Monday night? Something looks real dog on close. Yeah. I think what they were doing now. I think
it's people trust their instinct and their personalities based on shots and spots is the fact
that like, oh, look, I can sell this. Send it to me. Let me take this chair shot. People are going to
buy people going to buy into it. Because things got real real dicey there for a minute. I think a lot
the people in the company are very uncomfortable with it. But the people who know their bodies and
know their instincts and know their opponents. Yes, they will take the chair shot and then they'll
fall down and everything like that. And you're like, oh my god, I can't believe you just took a chair shot.
But I think it was very good spot and stuff whether it's real or not. You actually liked it. Like
you just said, was that a real shot? And it's close. If it wasn't real, you just bought it into it.
So I was like, somebody's going to write a check after this because they'll find you in the
WB for that. I feel it was an amazing shot. I hate to say smartest man alive.
But I said it two months ago. Goldberg beats Owens makes Goldberg Lesner at WrestleMania
and for the Universal Championship. But you know what you're still going to have to give me more
to care about smash. See, I feel horrible. And then Lesner wins it. WrestleMania. I'm saying it now.
See, I feel horrible because LA was talking about it. And if you look at my Twitter and you go back
four months on my Twitter. I said, mixed tag team match. I said, you called that. I said, I said,
AJ versus AJ and and Shane. I also said, Sina and and and and and and then I said,
Lesner versus Goldberg and then I said, Roman versus taker. Like I said it based off of stuff.
I was reading and it becomes a pass. I'm not happy about it. I should never post anything on Twitter
because it ends up coming to fruition. But somebody's reading Twitter feed. That's where it is.
No, no. It's just I. I became a smart and I regret it. I'm totally going to start drinking
before wrestling now. So I don't know if you noticed Charlotte during commentary Monday night.
No, she said she she beat Sasha flare and square. I see which did there. I did too. That pun was
horrible. So just take a day to all that we just condensed for you. Our OH news,
congratulations, Christopher Daniels. You're the brand new. I don't care. This is not a spoiler.
This happened two days ago. If you didn't read it online, it's on you. He ran it with town,
boogie man. And after a face turn by cazerian. So his been his bit with bullet club lasted
what three weeks. And they are martini drinkers because they are effing genius. Also,
not much else happened really on the on the 15th anniversary show that was really worth talking
about. Leo Rush did beat Kenny King. So that's that. I don't like what they're doing with this whole
revolution thing. It's a lot of botches. Oh, I see it is. Impact has sent the already, the hearty's
and ROH a season to assist about the broken gimmick. But Matt has applied for a trademark.
Now I have it's almost as similar as Bowley Ray, Bowley Ray trying to use
Bowley Ray in TNA if that first that first month. And he's like, I'm Bowley Ray.
WWE is like rather Ray. But then Bowley Ray. Yeah. But WWE was like, hey, look,
you didn't, you didn't file for it. So you're, but I thought WWE gave them the rights to the
name. Like there was very fidduggly. Oh, just a Dudley bus. The Dudley now. So you could be
brother Dudley, Bubba Dudley. You could be like anything. But yeah. So that's all, Bubba Ray did.
And see, Matt Hardy had his own thing. And that was his own and TNA is like, oh, you're making
money off it. Oh, we, we had it first. No, no, you didn't. And oh, you didn't. It was announced
that slam a Versailles 15 has been set for Arlington Texas. I don't know. They haven't said where
yet, but it's going to be on my birthday. It's going to be an online second in Arlington Texas.
You know what that happens? Oh, go. My birthday. So I'll go. I will go. They're always an
Arlington Texas. And some, have you, have you heard about the new podcast that has joined the
podcasting community this last week? Who does? No, he's having forever. It's been a while for
a while. If I say the pod of awesomeness. Does that mean anything to you? Why?
Agent Christian have a podcast now. I hate them. Just telling you it's a thing. They're, they're taking
on revenue. I mean, you're giving revenue because I'm not. I mean, I might. The only thing I have
from SmackDown is a show shot. A blister. Tation sounds like something you need to see a doctor
for. But apparently, Mojo Riley versus Dolph. No, that's just going to be an angle because Mojo is
going to be in the under the, the, the giant battle. Oh, no more. And they kept screwing up the
whole women's bit because at one point it was like anybody on because Alexa's taking on the entire
women's division at WrestleMania for the title. And moral kit going back with you is at the SmackDown.
My roster is at the whole roster. It's the SmackDown line roster. What's sad is that's going to be
like an eight woman match. And it's still not going to be as good as the raw women's match. It's
a way that match becomes anything is as I'm rotating around talking on the microphone and looking
at the wall now because you hear my voice fading away. Is it Gail Kim beats? You know, she's not
under the contract right now. But if I hope enough, if I rotate enough under the microphone,
Gail Kim will, will, when that belt over, wait, who's the one who's going to get out of the door now?
She's, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. On SmackDown, she's, she's over and off.
The suit, suicide squad looks a bliss. Oh yeah, so, so, so Gail Kim is going to beat
Alexa Bliss for the belt. You know what? It's possible. Like I said, Gail Kim is not working
under a contract right now. She's going to do enchampion change. She's just, and they've, and by the
the way impact is officially gotten rid of TNA again. It's now back to impact wrestling. It's
efficient. And it's just like why is it's like impact just wants to continue shooting
itself in the foot. You've got all these people that aren't under contract and 90% of them
aren't coming back to the company. It's insane what's going on over there that you know you're
losing your best talent. That's all I'm saying. And they're all going to WWE. Now given
Gail Kim's a couple of swims through the WWE. I don't know how that goes but you know what
you've already got Mickey James back. I think adding Gail Kim to that mix and not and digging
it you know doing one of these surprise WrestleMania appearances that would blow it up. That would blow
it up hard. And your lady friend is joined us. Amanda hard working woman is finally getting
to the chance to relax a little bit after a long weekend. It's good to see you dear hearts.
And we're just actually just wrapping up wrestling because we're about to get in the movie
talk as we go to our friends from box office mode. Joe to give you your top 10 of the weekend.
That's actually a horror. Her field that it is mine. Outstanding. She wants a mic I'll turn it on.
What's good. Yeah. We're going to give you a pair of headphones. No go the other way because
it's caught up on the thing. This is riveting radio right now. All right. You're up and you're
alive and you're good in my friend. It's going to be the first time she's actually been on the
show proper. She's been in the studio but I don't know that she's ever actually used the microphone
in the studio. So this is exciting. All right. Can you hear yourself all right? There you go.
You just talk right straight into it and you'll be fine. All right. So box office numbers dropping
out of the top 10 this week. Only one movie dropping out of the top 10 as the great wall
drops from 8 to 13 made $1.3 million. Four weeks, $43.8 million on a $150 million budget.
I like this film and I'm not afraid to say it. All right. I choose a exclusive 262.
Dropping from nine to ten this week, 50 shades darker makes $1.6 million. Five weeks,
113 million dollars on a $55 million budget. Yeah. That's all that movie and
because I don't know. I think it's 9% on to betos right now and that's nine the number between eight and
ten. I'm doing it. It's right. Actually, I'm going to get the official rating. It's it's back.
It's rotten tomatoes rating is horrible. I haven't seen it yet. I really want to. No, I just said I'd
see it just to see what kind of look I'd get from Amanda. Oh, I'll have a second.
It looks to be like sideways. I'm going to plug my charger in. Okay. I think we're getting out.
All right. So let me go back to rotten tomatoes. Again, riveting radio. Let's see here.
As well. Let's do in what it's doing. I will do this over here. Here we go.
50 shades darker. 9% on rotten tomatoes right now. Oh my goodness. And the great wall is 35%.
So let that be. I feel like it was racist show. No, I'm just saying. All right. So let's go back to
Boxhouse, Mojo. Let's see. Drop up from 10 to 9 Lolland $1.8 million. 14 weeks, $149 million.
Cost 30 million dollars to make. Oh, so disappointed. I had the one in that Oscar. John Wick chapter two drops
from five day. Have you seen this yet? I like John Wick one. I like it. I like it just a little bit more than
I like the first one. Really? Yes. I've heard nothing about good things. I love this moody. Okay. See,
I've heard. I've heard to see it. All right. So being a UM guy, I've heard Jim Lerenaga talking
about John Wick two things better than the first one. It's a lot of fun. It's like 50% better than
the first one. Hidden figures stay steady at seven this week, $2.8 million dollars, 12 weeks,
162.9 million dollars on a $25 million budget. Love this movie as well. Big fan of this film.
Before I fall, stays at six this week with another 3.1 million dollars, two weeks, nine million.
I don't have a budget on that. Russ said this lemma verse is going to be in Orlando.
Next year? No, this year. Oh, well, not in Orlando. It's going to, it's going to be in
Nickelodeon Studios, right? Probably. It's going to be hosted by Johnson Orlando Flood. The Lego
Batman movie, which I finally saw last weekend, and absolutely loved it. Okay. So is it as good as
L.A. was saying it was, or if you are somebody that's entrenched in Batman lore, you will love it.
Because there are, I mean, they go all the way back to 66. So my question is, would you take
Lego Batman? What's the percentage over Lego Batman verses the Lego movie? I like the Lego Batman
better because it was more focused on one thing. Okay, percentage wise.
I would say it's probably about 20% better than Lego movie. I still love the Lego movie. Don't
get me wrong. No, I do too, but everyone's like, oh, it's so great. There's so much
little humor in it, and I'm big fans of films that are that way where there's little things
you look for. Like, they actually took when they were, they were going over the Batman history.
They take some of the original posters, and they make those out of Lego. Disney, if you are
listening to me right now, you would make it Lego movie with Dr. Doom and that various
backstory. So I mean, does it have a Lego movie? And I'd be happy. Let's see, the shack drops
from 3 to 4 this week, 2 weeks 32 million. I have to see it for another show, General Miss Scenic.
She'll let me know probably tomorrow when she hears the show. Get out, drops from the silver
metal to the bronze metal this week, 21 million dollars, three weeks, 111 million dollars.
This cost four and a half to make. So it didn't break even. No, it's more than broken even.
It costs 4.5 million. I thought you said, oh, yeah, 111 million dollars, dude.
Logan drops from the gold metal to the silver metal this week, another 37.9 million dollars, two weeks,
152.7 million dollars, just under a 100 million dollars. It is, I choose exclusive 266.
I'm going to say the same thing I said earlier about something else. Good, not great.
It is my third favorite fox, new one. Behind first class in Deadpool, because nothing will
nothing will be Deadpool. Nothing will be Deadpool. Did you see that Deadpool made? That trailer is funny.
It is a teaser trailer in the video. It's like, it doesn't make me wonder, why is
there still a phone booth on the corner? He goes, oh, oh, my bad.
Rust, after me, if I've seen the shack, I have not. I'm going to ask somebody, I know who
I'm saying the shack, he plays the shack, the movie. Sorry, all right, so
movie headlines for this week. Star Wars celebration, which happens in May in Orlando, they're actually
going to take next year off. So your next Star Wars celebration after this year will be 2019.
Can we get a supernatural movie? No, I think about it.
With the cast and the dead. That show just won't die. It just keeps going.
Jensen, sure it's awesome. I continue to keep going. It's one of those CW staples.
It's better than firefly. A actress by the name of Zazzi Beats, who's on Atlanta,
she's going to play Domino and Deadpool 2. So you may want to look her up and then make a judgment call
there in. So how's it going? Anna Ferris and a Mexican actor named Eugenio Durbez, because
American needs this will star in the remake of overboard. Why? If you remember that
opus with Kurt Russell and Goldie on, I feel like I have to kick someone in the chest and put
him in a pit. Like, I don't understand this movie. Why? Why? Why didn't you get the first time?
I don't want it now. We should we should just remake Cadyshek. They remake that film.
It has to be at the best one liner ever because it's the greatest one-line movie ever.
Oh, when we do our specials that we discussed a couple months ago, Cadyshek is on.
You know what? That might have to be on that list. Absolutely.
Oh, no. Absolutely. It's on that list. Well, we talked about the Lego Batman earlier.
Like a Batman movie earlier, the guy that directed that Adam McKay is going to direct a live
action Nightwing film. Hi. And a hundred disagrees. Okay. Good job.
Yeah. See. Thanks. Thanks, Senator. I appreciate that.
Hi, Eric. Good to see you. Hi. He's right. He's just being nosy right now.
I just do you get, how do you get to Nightwing if you haven't even addressed the Robin thing?
That's the weird thing to me. Kill them.
Kill them, is that?
Kill them. Remember a skate plan? No, with with with uh, with uh, Stallone.
Remember because he was the guy that he got in and he had, he was locked him in there and he had to get out.
I think Schwarzenegger sent it to him. I'm not mistaken. I thought that was, I thought that was like
expendable. Oh, that was one of the expendables. Let me make sure I got that right.
Yeah. Stallone is Schwarzenegger in 2013. Stallone owned a company and they've jobed with
their company was to get into prisons and break out of them so they could find the security breaches
and they went to this, he was taken into this prison and they like didn't want him out.
Oh, yeah. So there's a sequel coming out with Jamie King, Fiddysent and the Baptista.
Why? Because somebody's got cash to burn? Yes. It's a Batista wearing blue. I don't know.
Blue, Tista. Baptista, you know what? He's got the drag thing going on. And that new trailer looks
great too, by the way. Oh, that's because that's, that's a movie as a whole. So he can look good
in that movie. Did you see not just speaking of trailers, did you see the new uh, Wonder Woman
trailer dropped yesterday? No, I did not actually. It's really good. It looks so good.
Chad's not here to back me because I had too excited. I have two people looking at me sideways,
but the power engine's movie looks good. Dude, I mean, I can't stand the power Rangers. I'm in
on this film. I grew up on it. It's the breakfast club with powers. That's what this film is.
I was a stranger as a child. I was a millionaire as to this. The power Rangers were the
main of my existence for most of my adult life because when they, when they first hit, I was in
college and working at Toys or Us and that craze drove me insane. We had, we had, I'm not kidding
you want to say this. And I've told the story on the show. We had a waiting list, 1500 people long
for the action for the big action figures. And the red Ranger only won per case. So we had people
Hawking us daily. That's all the phone calls were. Is your truck here yet? It's your truck here yet.
Like, look, you're on the list when we get to you will call you. There was one day that we had a
case an extra case that came in. They didn't even open the case. Our warehouse guys just threw it in
the action figure aisle and it was just like a prison fight. And for years, it was, and I was like,
oh, do it a movie. And then I saw the first trailer and I was like, I'm in on this and I can't tell
you why. And the more trailers happen, I'm like, this looks amazing. See, growing up. Yeah,
see, growing up, I was the power and just person in my family. My sister was the cabbage
patch kids. My brother was the Ninja Turtles. And I was always like, oh, you should like Godzilla.
And I love Godzilla. That's my number one. But power and just was my number two. And I remember
and this comes out week after like next week. Not this coming week comes out next March 20.
I thought it was three or four weeks. It's three or four weeks. I think it's March 24. Oh crap.
All right. So let's go check on that for us. So we, babe, and you love watching movies. We have a
midnight premiere to go see. But you put a list of other movies. You put Elizabeth Banks in just about
anything. And I'm in. Yeah. See, it's a solid, it's a solid two hours. It runs two hours and four
minutes. It comes out March 24. Okay. Yeah. And Brian Cranston's playing in the big, the big face voice.
Oh yeah. Oh, oh, oh, oh, is it? Is that? Yeah. Yeah. James Cameron says Avatar 2 is not now
expected until next year. Now you're going to put money on that. They're making and another. He's playing
like three sequels and he's been planning them for years. Every time I look at
at Avatar, I look at Channing Crowder and I'm like, bro. But the night we were at the night we went to
Irishman the other night. I saw a brief glimpse of the trailer for Avatar 2. No, that's not a trailer.
That's what that's the Disney World Park they're opening in May. Oh, is it? I thought I was like a
trailer for no number. They haven't even filmed anything yet. No, they're actually Disney World's opening
in Avatar Land in May. Star Wars Land over next year. I'm excited for cars. Oh my, it cars three,
or whatever. Oh, you know what that looks so exciting. I like what they're doing with the story.
I'm very impressed by this. There's a big thing. All right, here's the thing. I'm not a
Dale Earnhardt fan. I'm not a big, big fan of number three or Dale Earnhardt Junior anything.
But if you really look at that story study, all it looks like is if it's like a foreshadowing
of Dale senior's death. And that's all that reminds me of his Daytona 2001 Dale senior dying.
And it's nuts. That's all it reminds me of. And I think I think that movie's going to be stellar.
Very similar to Toy Story 3, where it pulls your heartstrings a little bit. And you're like,
I was just looking at my social media. I forgot to show you a picture I found earlier today.
It's a t-shirt of the notorious B.I.G. And this is killing me. I saw that on your SNAP. I haven't posted
this yet. I thought you'd be interested. We found this at GameStop today. It's a canteen that
looks like the gold Zelda cartridge from the original any. It's hilarious. See, I saw I showed the
biggie small one that you posted on Instagram to my friend Brian. He's like,
you're, oh, that's hilarious. If I, if I, if I, if I, if the mall had it. And I was like,
I have to take a picture. That was the one over at, uh, time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I love that story.
Back to our, our headlines. Steven Spielberg announced he's going to his next film. He's going to
direct. It will be called the post. It's about the Pentagon papers. We'll star Tom Hanks and
Meryl Streep. So if that doesn't say Oscar reach, I don't know what does.
Movie new releases in places you go see movie new releases this week. We get the live action
beauty in the beast opening this week. We will be screening it tomorrow night. So our reviews will
be up this week. It is over two hours long. It's over two hours and five minutes. So it would be
interested to see how they stretch that time. I am so excited about this movie. No, it is,
is the base that it's still going to be. It's, it's a dying rose and everything. Yeah, the whole
thing's in it. I mean, it looks great. Um, so like I said, we'll be screening it tomorrow night
and we'll have our review up later this week. I don't, I don't, I don't remember if the, I think
the embargo is up, but I think they may want to wait till Thursday to post. Also a movie called
the Bellco experiment. Have you heard about this? Nope. James Gunn, the guy that directed
Guardians of the Galaxy, he wrote this in a twisted social experiment. 80 Americans are locked in
their high-rise corporate office in Bogotá, Colombia ordered by an unknown voice coming from
the company's intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed. It's like under
the dome, if it was inside a scientific experiment. It sounds like panic room. The way the, the poster
writes this office space meets battle royale. So the right Royal Rumble meets panic room. Pretty much,
also the sequel to train spotting comes out this week called T2 train spotting. We may be screening
that. I don't know for sure. I gotta find out. We've got a bunch of stuff going on this week. So
also song to song the new film from Terence Malak who made an appearance at South by Southwest this
weekend. After a night of a cup, I'm very, very apprehensive. But this is about a bunch of songwriters
in Austin. And a movie called The Devil's Candy, which I, isn't that what they call most candy?
I, uh, pretend I have a sweet tooth and I'm like, you, you eaten for the devil. I just had
an Oreos, but I appreciate that. This has Ethan Embery in it. Uh, is this,
has been on the shelf at home? Probably. I mean, it says 2015 on IMDB. A struggling painter is
possessed by Satanic forces after he and his young family move into their dream house in rural
Texas in this creepy haunted house tale. So it's a, like, version of the puppet master. I will
not be saying that. Blue ray and DVD new releases in places you give blue rays and DVDs this week
passengers comes out this week. I did that one got away from me on theaters. Uh, fences,
which I think is an excellent film. Not a lot of people agree with me. I think it's a lot better than
it could. It should have been collateral beauty, the Will Smith Oscar, each that nobody cared about.
L, which is a very, very dark film. Uh, was actually nominated for a best foreign film.
Solace, which is, um, I mean, just make sure I get this right because I don't want to screw this one up.
Anthony Hopkins and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are in this. Uh, this is, we actually talked about this.
This came out in December. Uh, a psychic worked with the FBI in order to hunt down a serial killer.
The love witch, which actually showed last year when the music festivals are movie festivals, we work.
This is a 60's retro style film about a young lady who's actually a witch and she tries to catch
love spells. I've heard excellent excellent things about this. So like my question is, I know I know y'all do
you and Chad never in dawn as well. Do the, um, you know, the different, um, festivals.
If people were to, let's say get complete thumbs up on those movies. Does it take like an X amount of time
to get into the theaters or what, what, what becomes of those movies that get so time free? And this is at any any film festival.
Really it depends on the festival. It depends on the exposure that the film gets at the festival.
Okay. Um, we actually saw the Oscar nominated, um, documentary life animated was actually
at the Dallas International Film Festival last year. That's where I saw it. See what I remember is,
I remember your Asian film festival one. We did that in July with a big coin and everything like
that attack on Titan, the different Godzilla ones. They all made it to Alamo draft house for special
screenings and they made like, you know, big profit based off of that. But I wonder what they did with,
you know, the AMCs, the, uh, movie, again, it depends on the movie studio movie crew. That's a lot of,
a lot of films will do the festival circuit to try to get bigger distribution, which is why
Sundance is always so well covered. I'll tell you right, which isn't as well covered in Colorado,
but it's a very big festival. The LA film festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Miami's as one
Fort Lauderdale has one Atlanta has one. A lot of these independent directors will take,
we'll just submit their films to festivals just to get more and more exposure to their films
that will hopefully get picked up by a larger distribution. That's what happened this
past year with birth of a nation. Uh, that was the highest ever paid for a film at forever,
ever, ever, especially at Sundance, where Fox search light bought it for $16 million and then
up taking a bath on it. And see, it's just, it's nuts because I remember listening to your Asian
film festival and then seeing them at Alamo draft house. But then I thought about how it's like,
man, you know, more, more things like this need to come more around and then you really think back,
you know, a couple, about half a decade, maybe more than a decade ago. Uh, what was that movie?
Um, broke about mountain. I know that's a really touchy subject for some people.
broke mountain was, uh, you know, a Sundance film festival one that ended up being millions
and in the movie in the movie scene. And it's just like it's funny how those things just come about.
A lot, a lot of these directors just, if they go independent, they take them to things like
South by Southwest, which is going on right now, just to get it in front of people. And I've never
been on a jury that selects these things, but it goes through a process where you have to submit
your film and they watch their film and see if it's the kind of film that fits in with the
format of that particular festival. The Dallas International Film Festival is coming up in about
three weeks. That's a big, big deal. And we've seen a lot of films come out of that and Dallas
is getting more and more cloud in the industry of people getting their film scene and picked up.
It was funny. I had to do it one back when I was, uh, doing teaching in my old school
Dallas teaching at, uh, one of our staff meetings was actually during the Dallas film festival
at the holiday end over there on Sunday. Oh, yeah. And I saw all that stuff and I was like,
oh, that was the night of the, if I'm saying, that was the, the median that where we picked up
our past like, it was like two years ago. And I was like, oh, well, we put in our applications
to hopefully be a, if we get in this year, it'll be our fourth consecutive year covering that festival.
We always have a lot of fun. We always have a lot of fun. We're such fans of those guys over there.
And the other release this week from the criteria in collection and movie from 1976
called Canola a shameful story. A group of students rise in a small town during a hiking expedition.
Once there, the local priest accuses them of being communist agitators on the run from an army
crackdown against student demonstrations in Mexico City and around rallies, the town folk
to lynch them. It's based on a true story from the town of Canola in 1968. All right, tech corner.
We've got a lot to talk about in tech corner on me. Well, I mean, you're, you're going to lead tech
corner because the first thing I want to talk about in tech corner, we are now officially six,
how long has it been six, six, six days, six, six, then intended to switch has been released.
I want, I, I read today that the, we'll be getting Netflix, Hulu and Amazon eventually on the
system. Give me your early thoughts on the system because you are an intendo guy.
It's probably the game changer in all of major consoles. Okay. Point and playing. I'm not
trying to be biased about it. It's just the simple fact of people who want to play Xbox. They have
all their 4k HDMI, all their 1080p visuals. And that's, that's exactly what the Nintendo Switch
has. The problem with it is, is can you take it on the go? Can you play your games like the
Zelda? Can you play your Pokemon game? Which is the image of the system? How is that working out?
So far, so good. I've heard, I've heard mixed reactions with people were like, oh, I don't want
to take it on the go because it's a console game, but then when you really think about it,
you really love that game. You want to keep playing it. So I've met people who don't want to
play that game on the go, but then they're sitting there in the doctor's office and they're like,
I have nothing to do. Well, you just left your console at home. You could take it on the go.
And a lot of people, how does it translate from a normal TV to the portable? It looks so good.
I have a 3DS. I've played the Switch. The 3DS, I love very much, but the 3DS,
specs of the 3DS were not that great. With the Nintendo Switch, you can play it on the go and it looks
great. It looks almost like you're playing at home. You're playing on, but it's almost like you're playing
on your phone just a bigger screen. And I was at the mall today. It looks like quite a few launch titles for it.
It's not correctly. You have the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, which
it has been highest rated game period in all of IGN. I actually know people that have the game
that haven't even bought the system yet. People bought it just just to get on on the heads up,
but that is the highest rating game in all of gaming. It be Halo 3, Halo 2, whatever it does.
It beat all the call duties. It is the highest rating game in gaming history. It is Zelda Breath of the
Wild. And it doesn't look 4K. It doesn't look 1080p. It is what it is. But I think people
appreciate when no does is the fact that it's innovative. It's not the same old. Here's your
two joysticks. Here's your directional pad. Here's your triangle. Whatever. This is what you get.
You play it. And if you really love a console and if you really love a game franchise,
you can play it on the go. You can play it at home. And that's why I think everyone sitting there
saying Nintendo did the smart move with Zelda. A wait until March, wait until wait until June,
wait until November, December, when Mario hits in December, wait until Pokemon and their switch
game comes out in November. Wait until Splatoon hits in June. How's the learning curve on it?
It's almost Wii U. But the difference is you can pull off the sides of the touch screen pad
and make it at Pro Controller. You can make it at 3D, like a 3D or a 360 controller,
where you put it on a charging pad and it becomes a Pro Controller. It's almost like a traditional
playstation 2, playstation 3, 4, whatever that. Whatever is out now, you know, Xbox 1 and
everything. It feels like that. It's a little slightly smaller, but Nintendo switches innovative.
Because here's the thing. What they're doing is what people aren't expecting is people are sitting
there saying, oh well, it's a switch as a gimmick. It's like the Wii. It's a gimmick. They have
games called ones who switch where you can figure out what the touching and the feeling of actual
of you. So there's a game where it's like you have to guess how many balls are in this box.
So you rotate the controller and you can you can feel with the with the with the joycons. How many
balls are present and you have to guess? Wow. So so what it is and it's so precise. What it's
trying to do is make VR more accurate. So you can put that touch screen tablet in a face face front
of you and they're making it like a VR system or a vibe or whatever Microsoft's doing. What they're
doing, but the touch the touch the touch panels on the joycon are so sensitive. So it feels like
you're actually doing something. So it's like you're actually pouring water. It's like you feel
in your hands and I feel like that's what they're doing. They're also trying to make the switch
more augmented reality because you look at the game that probably made the most money in the last
five years and it's a mobile app. It's called Pokemon Go. Oh yeah. That's what Nintendo Switch
is doing is they're trying to bring it all VR augmented reality and really bring you in in
depths because they want you to to to circle around all of them and I know Xbox One,
PlayStation, PS4 and everything. You want to sit there and be like, oh here's our console games.
We'll go out a little bit. Feel what it's like. You want to play VR? Well here's the highest
class of VR you could possibly have. So your first impressions rock solid worth the $300 price point.
I feel it's worth the $300 price point and I'm saying that without bias and you know you know me.
I'm very biased about my Nintendo consoles. I say that without bias because what I'm saying
is not actually there yet but that's what they're building on. They'll tell you that within
the system within the 10 that's what they're building on. So I will sit there and say that's worth
the $300 price point because about six months down the road you will sit there with that console
and be like, oh I'm glad I bought this because this is what I'm getting out of it. Good. Right now
maybe not. Maybe not. I will say right now with all the launch towels. That's so great
other than Legend of Zelda. But as somebody who is our Nintendo guy on this show, you are telling
people get it now because by the time by by the end of this year it's going to be more than worth.
I will tell you by February of next year in the next 11 months. It will be what you want
and more. Okay. I will say it's all you want. All right. About 11 months. Excellent. Some other news
and tech talk. Some more characters that have been verified for in just as two. Dr. Fate,
Cyborg, Green Arrow, and Green Lantern have been verified. We'll be in the game.
Xbox has announced their own game pass subscription service. Kind of an interesting concept here.
999 a month. Users will be able to download games to the system for a limited time and then if they
want to buy them down the road, they'll be a 20% discount for the game and a 10% discount on DLC.
So interesting concept there. And you mentioned Halo earlier, split screen will be returning to the
Halo games. That's probably the best first person shooter, third person shooter, whatever you want.
That's going to be the best console game straight up for the next four months. Because I'm
talking right now. I know Overwatch is taking over the gaming community, but Splatoon 2 when it comes
out in June. It's going to obliterate every game that's out there right now. All right.
Ready for the list? I got a good one for you tonight. Did I make the list? Well, you're always
on the list. But I'm the good one. Not on the list Jericho. Oh, you're on the list of the club.
Oh, I'll have to get the pay now. I didn't wear this shirt on purpose. It was just the first
thing in the drawer that was clean. But tonight's list, I'm wearing my Batman Funko Pop T-shirt.
We're going to talk about Funko Pop tonight. So I was sitting around the other day and Funko
has made some really huge announcements in the last couple of weeks. So what I did is I went through
their entire website. And I listed the top 10 Funko Pops you may not know actually exist.
Now some of them have been vaulted, but you can find them on your Amazon's and your eBay's of the
world. This first one is actually two together. There's a couple of them that were combining
some. See, I was expecting a top 10 that you loved the most. Oh, it's not. There's not a single one
on this list that I don't want period. Number 10 and these actually exist and they're very worth a
lot of money. If you can get them on Amazon right now, they'll run you about 300 bucks a piece.
And they are. Get ready. Two Pock and the notorious BIG. And they look amazing. They
yes. Look these up when you get a chance. They look amazing. They're very expensive because
they've been vaulted. And what that means is they've kind of closed them out. Number nine and I
didn't know these existed until today. You can get written in Stimpy. Oh, I've seen those actually.
I've actually seen and the written Stimpy that Stimpy doesn't look different. See,
what? Oh, man, I wish I saw this list because I didn't know they had such a such a value of them.
Because I mean, here in Dallas, a lot of people don't collect Funko Pops. So I can go and get a
running Stimpy one right now. And then I saw them and that's why you today. Oh, I don't know what the value
is on them. But I saw them today. This is what you may not know exist. Oh, oh, see, I've seen the
running Stimpy ones. Number eight, the Powerpuff Girls. Oh, I've seen. Oh, they look a little creepy.
I've seen him. It lies on the eyes on them, or a little creepy. I feel like it's more accurate to
the cartoon. See, I've seen him and buttercup. I haven't seen Blossom, or, or, or, bubbles.
Number seven, they actually have an Ace Ventura. And he's holding the card. I thought I was hoping
to need a hold of Funko. I want to see that one. I want to tell you. Number six, the cast of both
Pac-Man and Miss Pac-Man. And you can get Cuebert as a Funko Pops. I've seen Cuebert at the
at the Lowly and Pop Store at Stombhire, the can. It's Cuebert looks good. See, Cuebert looks awesome.
I didn't know what they have. They have Pac-Man and Miss Pac-Man and the Ghosts and the Blue Ghosts.
See, I've seen the Ghosts. I've actually never seen the Pac-Man or the Miss Pac-Man. I've seen the
Ghosts and Pac-Man. I haven't seen Miss Pac-Man, but I saw it on the website today. Number five,
the Rockets here? No, never seen it. I was like that. Because the number of licenses they have
is insane. I wonder how long it takes for them to get those approved, though. Well, I mean,
you get somebody like Disney and they just give you the whole umbrella. Oh, yeah. You know,
number four, and this is I've never seen these until today. They've got a Dr. Sue series
that has the cat in the hat. Sam I am and his friend in Green Eggs in Ham.
Oh, see, Horton, Horton's huge. Horton's one of the big boxes. And something that absolutely
melted my brain. Because this is one of my favorite books when I was a kid. I can see it right now
on my bookshelf. They actually have a Funko Pop for Fox and Sox. It, my Fox and Sox was the Dr. Sue
spoke that got me through my tons of electing me when I was eight. Fox Fox and Fox Fox and Sox and
Sox and Sox and Sox and Fox. My question is, as a teacher, did you celebrate Dr. Sue's birthday?
But you better believe I did. You better believe I did. You better believe it. All the stories. The
cat in the hat, the dumb, did he dumb, dumb, the thumbs and all. I got the six by Sue sitting over.
We did it all. Yeah. We did it all. Fox and Sox is my favorite Dr. Sue spoke of all time and they
actually made a Funko Pop of Fox and Sox and I almost passed out at the FYU today. Like it was one of
those moments where I actually had to catch my breath like, oh my god, that's a thing. See, when Amanda sees
me do something like that, she's like, you had to buy it. So you, I'm surprised you didn't get it right
then I have to be careful with my money right now. It was like, because I get the emails from Funko
and they did a one day special where they actually had pebbles in Bambam. Oh, yeah, yeah. And if I had
the money, it would have been shipped to me, but I was like, I have to watch my spending right now.
Because I haven't seen him since and it's killing. That's how I am with NFL email me about the
all of the version does. Like, number three, we have a tie. One of my favorite cartoon shows
of all time, especially when it comes to anime and you know this, they actually have the entire
cast of cowboy be Bob. Yes, sir, which I'm dying right now. And they actually did a shark NATO.
What are you? It's it's one big shark in the middle of like a tornado still.
It's fake in the world. I can't stand shark NATO. But the do it as a Funko pop, it's just
hilarious. And you had they actually did a limited edition of Dr. Strange in the astral plane,
where he's clear and he's like levitating. He looks awesome. And did you know last month,
they did a wall greens exclusive. I sent you the picture of HPK and Kane. Yeah, I still haven't gotten
those yet. See, I almost went to hot topic and got the bad man Vegeta one when he's wearing the pink,
but not shirt in the yellow pants. I have two Vegeta Funko pops already. Nice. So I just need the
bad man Vegeta one. That's my favorite guys. Number two, and these just released,
sunny, Michael, Frado, and Vito Corlion. Why? Because it's the godfather. And the Vito,
he's holding the cat. I understand the Vito bad. I didn't understand that he was holding the cat.
No, I don't understand the other ones. It's the whole thing. It's all the same in junior high.
It was the godfather for reason. You have to see these. They look amazing. And the fact
Vito's holding the tuxedo holding the cat. I was just like, I might have to get that one.
I'm not a big, I'm not a big Funko collector like you are, but like, I appreciate some of them
like the Zoeyberg. Yes. Somebody appreciate those. And number one, and you have to look this up
because it's the most unstable Funko pop I've ever seen. You know, we talked about twin peaks earlier.
It's coming back in June. They've done the cast, but they actually did a Funko. And I'll pull this
up for you because it's, I don't know, in my recent search on Amazon. They did a Laura Palmer.
And she's wrapped in the plastic. I'm not kidding you. I have to show you what it looks like.
I saw this at work the other day. I saw this at work and I grabbed my boss and I was like,
you want to see a thing? And he looked at he's like, oh my god, that's actually a thing.
They've got, and they've got the whole cast. Like, log ladies in there.
Agent Cooper, everybody's involved in this thing. That's hilarious. I thought I was going to lose my
breath. I was laughing so hard. I was like, that is so unstable. But you know, if you're going to be
a completeist, you've got to have for a two. If you haven't seen these things, go to Funko.com.
They have a hundred and seven pages of their pops alone of everything, whether it's available or not.
I have, I have a feeling that I still need silent Bob. I have the brain. I need to get Pinky.
But I am such a fan of these things. And it wasn't anything I ever see. I tried to seek out to collect.
They just kind of have you have you seen the new things that are kind of trying to rival them.
They're the metal, like they're pure metal. But that's a Funko. That Funko, that's a different line that Funko's doing.
Because I've seen the, the Power Rangers one, but they're solid metal. Like, they weigh like 10 pounds.
It's a different, it's a different line that Funko's doing. They've all, I don't like the, I think they're called
Dorms. They're like the big, the big head. I don't like the big bodies, but not like solid metal.
Like, but they are doing the new series of Power Rangers out that have a metallic look to them that look impressive too.
Oh, I actually saw those at Target. I actually almost got a black Ranger because I was a red Ranger, a black Ranger,
and then a red Ranger and Power Ranger turbo for Halloween one year.
So I've got a ton of these on my wish list on Amazon just because I didn't plan to start collecting these things.
They just, people just started getting them for me. And now, you know, if you've ever seen a picture,
I put this actually on our, our Instagram feed and in our Facebook page, and on our Twitter feed,
I actually put the picture of what my desk looks like at work, and I've been told I cannot stack them any
higher without calling fire Marshall. So I'm now spending out. My thing is I'm glad that your collection is as, as, you know,
tame as yours is because people who've got me Pokemon plushes. Oh, I can't even imagine. Oh, my goodness.
If you want to show you my Pokemon. Oh, I will show you the Pokemon plush collection that people get me from,
from conventions and stuff is obscene. Like, I think my place is going to catch on fire,
but it's not there yet. No, it's, he has a lot. So when we moved in our new room, there is like this
shelf that's kind of built into the wall like above our door. And it's like this weird just shelf that
just goes all along the room. And so when he moved in, I was like, all right, I know where I'm putting
your plushes now. And so he was, he was at work and I spent the entire day and it just fills up
the entire shelf that goes from one end to the room, all the way to the other end. It's outrageous.
He's so many. See, and this isn't all of them. Oh, wow. That's probably 34 and I have about
56 good mercy. That looks great. You need to put that on your social media. Man,
some people can see it. I think, I think it's on there. But that's only about 34 of those. I have like 56.
