To call her, she even spelled her last name right on the phone screen.
I was very impressed with that.
Maybe she just took it from the thing, but I'm going to be impressed with technology,
even though I just want to terminate her genesis today and I'm already paranoid.

It is the 89th Academy Awards this evening.
We're on a little bit early because we want to get all of this stuff in and done before
the festivity start.

We start every show with corrections and or updates.
Just a couple from last week's show.
First of all, Andrew, thank you for stepping in last week or we would have had the solo
adventure part two.
And as we all know, I don't really don't ever want to do that again.

I mean, it was an hour 45, but I've helped it out.
I listened to your explanation of the point system and NASCAR boy.

I'm so trying to figure it out.
I think that it differs if the race is on an odd Sunday, even month or something.
And what scares me is you know we're like two steps away from like half time shows
to because they stopped the race.

And I was trying to count all my actual movie channels, but then the website locked up

Normally we would go right into this, but this morning, the wheels kind of fell off.
Normally when we do a specific task related show, like if it's a wrestling show, even
though last week was kind of the same exception that this week is.
Or like bullpicks.
We kind of skip everything else.
But last week because of George animal seal passing away, I even called off passing
away.
We had to do an in memoriam.
We're going to have to do it this week too.
Two huge entertainment deaths happening in the last 13 hours.
First of all, at 97 years old, Judge Wopner has passed away from people's court from
the People's Court.
I had a great run.
97, man.
You don't even take them to court.
That's right.

Watching that show.
I can't do it anymore.
But I love it.
Judge Judy has nothing on Judge Wopner.
It was just six days just to watch that show.
I mean, it's such a big part of the culture that it was Rayman, ten minutes to
Wopner.
You know, like, that's how ingrained this show was, especially in that late 80s, early
90s, Ed Koch took over after Wopner's gone.
I think somebody else is there now.
Well, you know, if I would take this side and it's a fact, he ran the show.

So, and then another one that kind of hit us out of nowhere, in complications of heart
surgery, Bill Paxton passed away at 61.
I did not know you did not know this, Don.

Last night of complications after a stroke in heart surgery, Bill Paxton, who, you
know, Don's a big fan of the alien franchise.
He was in alien to currently on the CBS television version of training day.
Which they're saying that, because that was the big question is how many episodes
are done?
Apparently the current commitment to the network, he has been in all the episodes they
need.
Well, technically, let's say this.
First off, it was aliens to be detected.
Well, the second aliens.
Yeah.

I've got to say this about Paxton, you know, at the death, um, before we get,
now, let's be sure that the Dallas International Film Festival, we're hoping to get the
announcement any day that we'll be covering for the fourth year in a row.

to get that alien head signed by Paxton because of Gary and for those of you that don't
know, Don has, um, they did a limited run.
Some of them were in London, some of them were in Japan of the entire alien series.

of an actual alien head from a series.

I believe this is the 89th annual one of these things and, uh, we're going to do, we're
going to do box office.
So we're going to do movie headlines because there are a few things that we need to talk
about before we even get into predictions.
Box office numbers dropping out of the top 10 this week, a dog's purpose drops from
eight to 12 this week, five weeks, 57.6 million dollars, 22 million dollar budget.
So amongst its controversy still does well, I enjoy this, this film, iTunes exclusive
256.
So you got that going for you.
I'd like to, uh, a cure for wellness drops from 10 to 14 nowch.
This thing only been out two weeks, it's already out of top 10, uh, two weeks, 7.5 million
dollars.
This was a $40 million budget.
So Gorver, Gorver Binski, not doing well in this one.
Uh, let's see anything else that's dropped out this week.
I do not see, oh, dropping from, uh, no, up from 11 to 10 this week, why in, which is one
of the films we're going to talk about here in just a little while back into the top 10.
Really?
3.8 million dollars, 14 weeks, 42.8 million dollars.
I do not have a budget, but there's no, it's not making money, uh, rock dog actually
debuted in 11 to place this week with $3.7 million.
iTunes exclusive 264, I believe that's like a 16 million dollar budget, but, you know, let's
see, dropping from 7 to 9 this week, a movie Don has actually seen iTunes exclusive
254 split, another $4.1 million, six weeks, a hundred and thirty point eight million dollars
done.
Yeah, this was a nine million dollar budget.
I think the ninjas saw that one with me.

Yeah, I remember correctly.
I think I got the better of the deal than me.
Law law land jumps from nine to eight this week, $4.6 million dollars, 12 weeks, a hundred
and forty point nine million dollars on a thirty million dollar budget.
So, wow, we'll be talking about this.
But again, this is, this is Oscar weekend, so a lot of your best picture nominees or
other nominee-naked films are going to get a nice jump at the box office.
Hidden figures also up for best picture drops from six to seven this week, five point
nine million dollars, ten weeks, a hundred and fifty two point eight million dollars on a
twenty five million dollar budget.
And that was iTunes exclusively.

a point five percent chance that there's some credibility to it.

Dropping from the gold medal to the silver medal this week, the Lego Batman movie, another
19 million, three weeks, 133 million dollars on an $80 million budget.
So it's made its money plus the 50 million for promotion.
So they're going to be doing well there.
And day viewing in the gold medal spot this week, Jordan Peel of Key and Peel, rights and
directs get out.

I mean, there's no secret if you're an Empire member, they're robbed with horror films
and stuff.

Perhaps not really a horror film, but you know, you're kind of the split, that's why
I did split that night.

Well, no, because I already RSVP for another film, that's a split that's called it for what
it is.
But still, that's more of my genre I think than, but hey, we're here for the episode.

Let's get into some movie headlines.
There are some differing reports coming out this week for those of you that are not
aware.
Talk about this, but we're not going to put the review up until later this week.
Don and I have seen Logan, we saw it about a week and a half ago.
There have been rumors that they're, now we watched all the way through, yes, no post
credit scene, no credit scene, nothing, no tags.
There are rumors that that will be there, but we didn't get to see it, although director
writer James Mangold is denying this.
Okay.
So, there are conflicting reports.
It wouldn't be the first time it's ever happened.
Yeah.
I didn't do that before, but I have not heard, like, he's the director, but I don't
know that I still put a lot of stock in it.
If that makes any sense, yeah, okay, don't keep, but our review will be up this Thursday
evening.

because this year is the 40th anniversary of episode four.

going to get them available.
Apparently, you can get it on DVD.
There was a Walmart release that has the original cuts on them, but never a blue ray release.
There were rumors that with episode seven coming out, but they were going to do it with
that, but they didn't.

There's a way you can get them allegedly on the dark webs.

There was this official name to it that somebody had taken all the old laser discs in
and other countries' versions of it and cut them together so you can have a digital
copy of it.

What these kids go through from doing the sets to the lighting to the sound so that it's not just a bunch of adults telling them
