It is 701 of my East Coast.
It is the 15th of January in the year of our Lord, 2017, season 7, episode 26, 376 times
this voice has welcomed you to the clubhouse podcast.
I am not afraid to say I am doing this podcast in my pajamas because that is how I
am going to be going to be a light evening in the studio, there is a lot going on in the
Metroplex right now, and so tough time booking some guests, but that is okay.
We get it.
Everyone is going to be going old school with it because joining me across the desk as he
tends to do each and every week is my co-host and a man that is going to be having his head
on a swivel here for about the next 45 minutes.
He is Chad.
Yeah, I have already got a predetermined cricket where it is going to wind up, so because
we do have the football game on in the studio, we will switch it over to the other game as
soon as this one is over, you guys were three weeks away from the Super Bowl sir, I don't
even want to think about it, and as normal we will be taking that day off so we will be
enjoying the game as well because the game would be on during the show and let's just be
on it.
Not especially that day, so when I let you guys know ahead of time, I have had some inquiries
about the Royal Rumble in two weeks, I am hoping to get a official word on that here within
the next couple of days, I have made some phone calls and to see how, if there is going
to be a road show involved in that or not, I have had people ask me as well, so I put some
phone calls in and I am hoping to hear from those back soon.
We do have some corrections from last week's show, so notes on Byron Saxon.
He did go to the University of Florida, he graduated in 2003, Titus actually played
through 2000, so there might have been a one year overlap there, he was actually in the
same kindergarten class as Alex Riley, and according to Wikipedia and this is a quote,
despite now being 35 still lives at home with his parents, wow, yeah, thought that was funny.
Also, another correction, if you subscribe on our podcasting app and you get our show
that way, I said that the curious incident of the dog on the night time, exclusive
251 was the quarter century mark is the quarter millennial mark, apparently I can't do
man.
Oh god, I didn't even catch that.
I was listening back and went, wait a minute, that doesn't seem right.
One quick NASCAR note, we're going to double up sports in the beginning of the show tonight.
Just one quick note from this past week, if you were not aware, Carl Edwards retiring,
the back flip himself retiring at the age of 37.
He said he had a lot of things to consider, he's doing okay.
I think seeing the issues that Junior had with concussions this past year had a lot to
do with it.
Oh, you think so.
I really do.
I mean, 37 in NASCAR is not old.
No, I'm 37.
I'm not old.
When I, when I, when I texted you that, and I was like, there, there's really not been
a reason given, but this is a thing.
Yeah.
I mean, there hasn't been an official word come down, but a lot of people are thinking that
had a lot to do with it, because even with all the safety precautions that NASCAR is putting
in, they are still a very dangerous sport, you have first and go all by the way, I'm going
to kill myself, just flipping my head around.
So we're going to writing the NFL talk from there, fans of Los Angeles rejoice, because
what's better than one mediocre team in Los Angeles, two mediocre teams in Los Angeles
as the chargers are moving.
And San Diego went later.
Remember, they were originally in LA for five years.
Yeah.
Even though they've been in San Diego for like 60.
But you know what, I don't like about this.
Los Angeles super chargers doesn't sound the same.
No.
By the way, touchdown Cowboys, just in one.
God.
So I mean, it's like we talked about them free show, it's 28 19 right now.
I say you, you go for two now, because either way, it's a two possession game.
Yep.
I say go ahead and go for the two now, I'm just saying, just if you don't make it, it's
going to bite you home.
Oh, because if you do make it, you can tie the game.
Right.
But if you don't make it, why would you wait until crunch time to try to go for
two?
Sure.
Do it now so you know the situation you face.
I'm just, I mean, again, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm chair,
corridor backing here.
But as we are in division up, they're going for one.
So it is a, it could be a two possession game.
I'm telling you that decision maybe the one that bites him.
I hope not.
That's still got 11 and a half to go, but Green Bay knows how to eat that.
Oh, yeah.
I know.
Let's talk about yesterday's game Atlanta over Seattle.
So really, if you think about it, if Green Bay wins this game, they will be the
first team in the 2017 playoffs, where the road team wins.
The home team has won every game up to this point, really, all last week and this week.
And there's still another game tonight.
We'll talk about that here in a minute.
Yesterday afternoon, Seattle goes to Atlanta, does not get it done as they lose by
16.
Neither one of those games yesterday were even close.
No.
But in that game, Seattle was only getting like five.
Like it wasn't a huge line, which was surprising to me.
Houston on the other hand.
Houston bought, that game, that line opened at 18.
Yeah, that was, that was hard to win.
I only remember one game with a bigger line than that and it was a Jets colds game
or it was 20.
God almighty.
And in the NFL, that's unheard of.
Yeah.
In the NFL, if you hit double digits, something's wrong.
By game time that line was 16 and New England still covered with relative ease.
And you think about last week, Houston now could, it's a reversal of fortune because
last week, Houston was like a six point dog and won the game.
Now, when you talk about the next night with the college championships, congratulations
Clemson, by the way, Clemson was a seven point favorite.
And it was still one of the, I'm sorry, they were getting seven.
I apologize.
Yeah.
Still one of the biggest losses.
I think the biggest loss in collegiate betting history is what they were saying.
Like Vegas took a bath on that game.
And a great game.
And I'm awesome game.
Amazing game.
I'm still giddy over that over our picks.
So I still can't believe that Mikey went in big and you're the only one that picked
a national champion.
I'm the only one that picked a national champion.
Even at the opening line of 18, New England still pushes on this because they went 34 to
16.
So now New England awaits whoever wins tonight because if you remember, this Pittsburgh
at Kansas City was supposed to be a new game central to the nearly game.
But a huge winner storm came through.
They're saying now there shouldn't be a problem this evening.
But I was watching in the pre game for the game we're watching right now.
And they were literally like one by one, people were going through seats and hitting the
seats with sticks to get the ice off the seats.
And the guy that was reporting live against the city, like the tarp had hit an air bubble.
And I was just, it was like slowly creeping up behind him.
I'm like, oh, let this happen.
Oh, let this happen.
They're a sick man, but it didn't happen.
But tonight Pittsburgh at Kansas City.
And not because I'm fairly anti Pittsburgh and I don't say this for shock value because
I have a lot of friends at our Pittsburgh fans, I just don't know that they can keep up
with Kansas City.
Kansas City, one of the quietest teams in the league this year, their at home at Arrowhead
at night.
It's cold as crap, even though Pittsburgh's used to the cold, don't get me wrong.
Yeah, it doesn't put Pittsburgh behind the eight ball.
I just don't know the Pittsburgh wins this game.
Well, I'm a cowboy fan, so I'm kind of born and bred and raised not to be a Pittsburgh fan
for me.
Right now, we're at about 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter in in our LinkedIn.
Cowboys down eight green Bay has the ball.
They have led this entire game.
Yeah.
And we were talking about this in pre-show too.
You know, a lot of people, including myself, have lauded the Dallas offensive line all year
long and what they're doing, but that green Bay offensive line, they're giving
a Ron Rogers enough time in the pockets of like, sign a lease on an apartment.
Like, it's, it's, it's insane.
Yeah, it is.
It's insane how good that is.
And a Ron Rogers, who's like 140 at this point in, in football years still moves.
Yeah, he died.
I can move.
I mean, that pass you through to Cobb on the run and Cobb was able to still go turn
around, go back to it and still kept both feet in bounds.
But you see I wasn't saying, did you see that after after Dax touchdown throw those two defensive
linemen kind of kind of, kind of bowing up to him and bullying him kind of, kind of crowding
emotional emotions are high in this game because you got to also remember green Bay's
on a seven game win streak right now.
Yeah, that's what worried me from the jump.
And again, they didn't have the week off.
So they've been able to hold their momentum after absolutely beating the giants like
a drum last week.
And if you're a cowboy phone, you have to think of the logic.
This is the team that took to the wood shed, the team at Beachall twice this year.
Exactly.
Just because we beat them in week, what was it, six, seven, six, I believe.
That's the team that they're playing tonight is not the team they played in weeks.
Not the team post the speech by A.A. Ron Rogers that said we're going to run the table.
And that was as the, there's winning streak started.
I want to say he really became a manifestation of his speech on that commercial spot that he,
that he runs.
No, he's not here or not ever.
It wears me out.
Great.
Why don't we team the same five commercials all the way through the playoffs?
And it's amazing that Fox hasn't promoted this new 24 show at all.
And it's weird because it depends on like, if you watch the Fox commercials, it says
after the Super Bowl, but apparently they're doing like a prequel VR thing for the Samsung
gear.
And it says, watch for their premiere 24 legacy after the big game, because it's not Fox
do it.
Samsung doing for Super Bowl.
Lee.
I hate that.
They couldn't go back to the Roman numerals like at like 55.
And I'm going to tell you something.
I want you to think about this from saying this now.
Super Bowl 55.
Invigus.
Well, not a chair going to have a team there, maybe maybe not.
No, even if not, I think it happens.
Think about it.
Super Bowl 55.
What is the Roman numeral for 55?
Oh, it's V. So L. V.
Oh, okay, okay, okay, okay.
You heard it here first.
Yeah.
That makes sense.
If it happens, as far as mainland, I'm just saying.
Let's get into some TV talk as the music changes.
We have a couple of premiere dates for you.
Better call Saul.
Their new season is going to premiere April the 10th at 10 o'clock in the Eastern.
A single episode of the show.
I've never watched.
The show is back.
I know what's breaking bad.
It's all right.
However, I am very excited.
March 19th at 10 Eastern is season two of Into the Badlands.
That was announced today, officially.
It's the only to watch the season one.
Dude, it's six episode.
I've got it.
I just haven't watched it.
It's six episodes.
Get on iTunes.
It's like $12.
I've already got it.
Just saying.
I'm the people that haven't.
Cause you can't.
You can't watch it on the AMC app for some reason.
They don't have it.
Really?
They have a link that you can go to iTunes to pay for.
It's three bucks an episode or 12 bucks for all six.
So get all six.
Get all six.
Save a bucket episode.
And I don't understand why AMC's not putting those episodes up.
They don't keep their stuff up very long.
But once they're an episode of the Walking Dead, it's usually down in like two, three
weeks.
We've got some renewal information for you.
The CW has renewed arrow, the flash, legends of tomorrow, Jane the Virgin, crazy
ex girlfriend and supernatural.
And when legends of tomorrow comes back next week, they're moving it to Tuesdays after
the flash.
So they've got, they've got things out of order now because it's used to be super
girl, flash, arrow, legends of tomorrow.
Now it's super girl, flash, legends of tomorrow, arrow.
Yeah, I noticed that you didn't mention super girl in that renewal.
They haven't officially renewed it yet.
Oh geez.
It's fine.
That's going to be fun.
I hope so because it seems to have really found a tone.
CW has now going to be the home of Constantine.
They're going to do it as an animated web series and Matt Ryan will be doing the voice.
Oh my wife does.
She has become a really huge fan of that character.
I'm telling you, have you guys watched the show?
No.
See, you can get a hold of that.
As bad as the film was, I thought the television series was really well done.
Even for NBC, who we know is not great at these things.
And he showed up in like a one or two episode arc during a crossover.
One episode.
No, it wasn't a crossover.
It was just a, it was an episode of arrow.
I thought he was, maybe it was a flash arrow crossover.
I know.
I know he was on arrow for sure.
I know he was, you know, he was heralding the arrival of one of the other characters.
One of the other shows if I'm not mistaken.
I could be wrong.
It's happened.
Showtime has renewed the affair for season four.
I'm hearing good things about the show.
It just doesn't have to inform you.
Also Fox has renewed empire for season four.
Not a lot of chatter about this show this season.
Is it just falling off?
I don't think it's falling off.
It's just that I think that Lee Daniels may have doubled dip to a little bit when he
with his debut of Star.
Which I also have no interest in.
I've watched, I've watched the first, I watched the pilot.
It was actually really entertaining.
But it Star feels like what empire felt like when it first started.
Oh, really.
So I think that the excitement and the buzz of, you know, these mids as in breaks.
I don't really think do a lot of favors for these shows.
They seem to have a lot of favors because I can catch up on my shows.
But I don't think it does a lot of help for the shows themselves because, because of that.
I was like, no one's really talking about it, especially when if you have a show like Star
that fills in the void.
So people feel like they have something similar enough to empire to whether or not
really all that caught up and discussing it because they're waiting for this thing to run.
It's course.
Let's see what I'm going on here.
TNT has given good behavior a second season.
FX has also renewed American horror story for two more season.
Chase.
Season seven they're saying will be set in modern day.
That's all they're saying at this point.
You see that, see that new Kathy Pates insurance commercial?
About a hundred times today.
I love that.
She has some work done or she just lost a lot of weight.
I think she just lost a lot of weight.
She looks great.
She does look great.
I just, I saw it.
I was kind of startling when I first saw that commercial today.
Just look.
Great.
I've got to move again.
American crime story season two has been pushed back to next year.
Now, do we know who it's going to?
We know the next two because there are going to be two seasons next year.
What they're going to be about six months apart.
The first one is going to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Oh God.
We're just going to be really interesting.
And then season three will be the Versace murder, really that came down this week as
well.
And I just want to send a quick shout out to Fatman on Batman.
I haven't listened to the entire latest episode, but it is Mark Bernardin doing his top
10 of the year.
Made kind of a bold choice at his number 10.
Where he gave his number 10, even though he says a lot of people will disagree with
me on this.
But that's what he does, but this was done.
People saw this in theaters in its entirety, so I'm counting it.
He gave the people Versace OJ Simpson his number 10 of the year.
I'll set it on a half hours of it.
Wow.
Apparently there were limited engagements where they showed the whole thing in theaters.
And I'm telling you, people hairled American crime story, the people Versace OJ Simpson.
OJ Simpson made in America berries this thing.
It's that good.
If you haven't seen it, I would tell you sir.
It is totally worth your time.
Oh no, I watched it.
I watched it over the summer.
I really much, much more enjoyed that than I enjoyed American crime story.
The first two episodes, the first two episodes were a little bit draggy, but they picked
up steam close.
But I liked the way they did it, where it wasn't just about OJ and the trial.
It was about every, it was about his entire life number one.
Number two was also about the climate of the country at the time, so it made you understand
a lot deeper than I think they could have, they should have had to go and they did.
Oh, I was a big fan of it.
I mean, but granted, like the first two episodes were basically just showing the roots
of OJ Simpson, showing how he became, but I think a lot of people needed that, because
you have to remember, you have an entire generation of younger people that have no idea
who the people.
People that were born when that happened are what, 24, 25 now, they've got no sense
of content.
So they were our age when this happened.
Right.
Really a lifetime ago.
So I thought it was very well done.
Donald Glover has signed an overall new deal with FX, but Atlanta is not going to return
until next year.
I've heard really, really great things about that show.
Oh, I thought you watched it.
No, I did not.
By the way, watch the first episode of Taboo.
If you missed my post on social media, I did not.
Apparently, FX is putting the F in FX because there are three, I don't know, oh, he did
step out of bounds.
There are three F bombs in this episode that I counted.
Two of them by Jonathan Price are also two or three N bombs in that show.
Yes, it's, it's like I said in social media, this first episode, it's very cagey about
where it's going, but it's keeping me intrigued.
And Tom Hardy is just, guys, creepy.
Oh, I know that's what's got a lot of people intrigued by the show, it's just the fact
that he's in it.
That's a price.
Well, I mean, but we're accustomed to seeing Jonathan Price on television because of
Game of Thrones.
But I'm good with that.
But there's like three members of Game of Thrones in this show.
But I'm not accustomed to seeing Tom Hardy on television.
So, and I think it's only six or eight episodes.
So, not a huge investment by FX.
I have, I have seen, well, and Portlandia, after season eight, I've heard good things
never watch an episode.
And I need I have to say to be an HD, I don't have it in standard on my own TV.
We do have a premier date for the Twin Peaks revival.
Finally.
May 21st, 9 Eastern on Showtime.
There's going to be, it's an 18 hour limited series.
The first four episodes will air within the first two weeks.
So May 9, May 21st, you're going to get episodes one and two, May 28th, you'll get
episodes three and four, and then one hour a piece after that.
I may have to go back and revisit this whole show and the movie.
I've never been into it.
Really?
There was two seasons.
I was really disappointed by the way, season one, ended.
And then seasons who just kind of just went off the rails.
Well, so that's why I never saw a fire walk with me.
Lynch kind of lost me after Blue Velvet.
We are going to do a television show.
That's my idea.
It's my idea.
And I only base that off his character on family.
I was a fan of Lynch mainly because of elephant man and dune.
But I've never really gotten into anything else of his.
He's just a little too quirky for me.
It really gets quirky in season two.
I really enjoyed season one a lot, except there was just the payoff sucked.
The prison break revival sent for April 4th.
So if you were a fan of that show, my wife was very, my wife was crazy about it.
My wife loved the show, but when she found out it was come back, she was like,
right, she was kind of surprised by that.
Two little, two late, possibly, possibly.
The entire arrested development cast will return for season five.
So apparently this is happening.
They're just locking down some of the small details.
I saw him watch season four.
That was my next question.
And are you a fan of the phrase?
We'll be right back in, two and two.
As in love connection, it is coming this summer back to Fox with Andy Cohen.
Yeah, the guy that does watch what happens next live on Bravo.
I don't watch that show.
So it looks like we've got a passing interference call, which could put the cowboys
inside the red zone.
There's five minutes to go.
My nerves, my nerves, my nerves.
You know what?
I'm saying he's going for the ball.
I don't know what that's passing interference.
But they're going to call it.
He says it's going to get that call.
TV on DVD and Blu-ray this week, not a whole lot, season two of 12 monkeys, which I've
never watched.
Yeah, I mean either.
The final season of Resoli and Ios, which my wife was a big fan of, and the complete
series of the mod squad, come here well.
Wow.

By the way, got a new look to our review page.
Oh, we do.
Yes, we do.
It's pretty snazzy, if I may say it's up and running.
It is up and running.
Okay.
I had to make some changes, but I kind of like where we're going with it.
It's a little bit different.
You can actually do it, and there's Touchdown Cowboys.
You can do it by a, you can actually search by keywords now and hashtags as well, really.
And categories.
Very nice.
So check that out when you get a second.
Okay.
Let us move on and go to P.O.I.P.O.A. stands for a person of interest.
It is a segment that we do on this show where we take a person or an entity and we debate
their greatness or lack of their love.
It is my turn this week for P.O.I. and we haven't done it in a month, but there's
reasoning.
So here's what I want to talk about this week.
Okay.
And by the way, Cowboys are now going for two.
There's this thing called the internet.
You don't say.
It's a thing.
What is this thing that you speak of?
It's how people share naughty pictures and cat videos.
But something, and it's been out of control for a while, but it's even worse now than
I think it's ever been.
I understand that the American dream and they got the two points.
Tybalgain.
Oh my God.
Four minutes to go.
I understand that people want to live the dream of not having a real job that they have
to go to a building for.
I know that people want to live.
They want to work at home for a living.
Be their own boss.
Generate revenue for themselves.
I get that.
I can roll with you on that.
I understand.
And I understand that if you want to do that and you run a website, a really good way to do
that is through.
Click through that.
Okay.
I see where you're going.
I understand it.
But there's a line you have to draw.
If you have a banner add on your page, people can click, oh, you can go buy something
on Amazon.
Or you can use our name and Amazon won't charge you anything more.
Like Steve Austin says talks about it in show all the time.
Like doesn't cost you any more, but they'll kick us back a little bit of money if you
buy something on Amazon.
I can roll with you on that.
I get that.
There's nothing that's going to inconvenience me there.
However, when you're forcing me into click through ads, oh, gosh.
And there's a website that I love to use for a lot of the research I do on this show
because they're very comprehensive.
But they're notorious for it.
No, are you talking about they play the ad before they get to the content or when
you get to the content, there's a humongous ad that splatters itself over the page and
you have to exit out of it.
Not just that.
I've had it where I can't exit out of it.
Right.
Yeah.
Like if I'm looking on my phone, click the link, it'll I'll see the page for just a second
and then boom.
And there's I can't go backwards because then it does the same thing to me again.
I even try to click multiple times backwards and it sticks me in this loop.
Right.
I know exactly what you're talking about.
I feel your pain, sir.
And in a lot of cases is like it will depend on what the content is that you're
reading and who you're reading it from and who's posting it.
But like a lot of the like the New York, the major New York and LA papers will force
a subscription pop up if you want to continue reading more stories or something like that.
But I don't and I don't even mind that or even a, hey, here's a sponsor, but in five
seconds, you can just click and go to the story.
I can roll with that.
Yep.
YouTube's got that figured out at least.
But when I get to the point where I've even had it where I've gotten out of the
browser, waited a couple hours, gone back to the browser and had the same problem with
the same exact pop up thing.
Mm-hmm.
It's like it's it's logging you.
You're you're you're you're losing clicks.
Yeah.
If people just just give up out of frustration because on this particular website, there's
multiple categories that I go to to look for headlines because they are a central
repository and I get that and I've heard stories about said websites webmaster on
more than one occasion and how greedy this individual may or may not be.
Like it even, I mean, it kind of annoys me when they have audio ads that just play
automatically.
But you know what, I'll take that over.
You basically locking up my system because I can't I can't even look at what I'm trying
to read because I can I can tune that out while I'm trying to read the content.
I can mute your page.
That doesn't bother me at all and if you can do your best to tune that out.
If that rolling gets you some kind of a clip credit fine.
But when you're at the point when you're trying to force me to do something, you
will lose.
Yeah, because what you're what you're trying to show me ain't that important.
And there were there were multiple months stretches of time because I've been reading
this website for many, many, many, many, many years.
There were multiple multiple times that there were month to three months spans where I
wouldn't touch this website because of it because of that.
Yeah, you know, just going find an alternate new source and it's harder and harder to do
because a lot of these webs, you remember, and I'll name a website from back in the day.
Remember when IGN used to be a great source of news?
Yes.
Yes, I do.
I can't even navigate IGN.
Yeah.
It's become so ad-heavy.
So dependent on ads that it's not even fun browsing that site anymore.
Remember when Alisx used to be the guy when there was one website for any resting news
and it was scoops.
Mm-hmm.
I was a huge fan of Alisx.
His website now is such a shadow of its former self.
Because he had to, he sold the domain.
It's not scoops.com anymore.
It's like scoops news or something or Alisx scoops news or something.
It's like, it used to just be scoops.com.
Boom.
Done.
Now he's just muddied the waters and he's become a jack of all trades master.
Yeah, but it's not even that.
It's Al's website has become very, just,
blah.
It's like it's not, I don't know if he just doesn't have the contacts he used to,
or if he just kind of fell off.
Well, he's not a big fish and a small pond anymore either.
Back then he kind of was.
Now everyone can do that.
But again, if I'm the kind of person that, if you ain't first, you ain't first.
Pretty much.
What I call the American Idol Survivor Theory.
Everybody can tell you who the first person to an American Idol was.
Everybody can tell you who the first person when Survivor was.
How sad is that?
Go three or four seasons more deeply and you're going to lose knowledge.
No, you'll lose, or you'll lose track.
If you're the first at something, stick with it.
Don't try to diversify.
Don't try to just be something that dance with the one that brought him.
There was a time when I went to Philly Defranco's site every day.
You lost off on him now, too?
Because it's gotten, he's actually left source fed and he's on his own now.
And it's harder to find now.
And his content, he used to do like two shows a day.
And he would do six or seven stories within that show.
And plus he had like a Philly, well, guys and girls that worked with him.
That was source fed.
That was source fed.
Okay.
Now it's so sporadic.
There's no rhyme or reason to it.
It's just kind of out there.
And I die.
It's because so many people are getting so grunt money hungry.
Like, what I love it if this show was a revenue stream.
Abs of freaking.
Yeah.
If this website paid me a good chunk of change.
If our social media, this show was a revenue stream.
I couldn't, I wouldn't, there's just, I couldn't be more tickled.
But the likelihood of that in this day and age is slim to none.
So we have to do it because we're passionate about it.
It doesn't bother me to have a day job.
It never has.
It never will.
But I find like 80, maybe think about some things.
But that's why 401k.
But my point is stop being so money hungry and give people
quality web experiences.
You can have banner ads and that's fine.
But don't try to force my hand because you're going to lose.
Yeah.
Well, maybe for them, just forcing your hand, maybe just a guaranteed revenue stream.
Maybe they're only guaranteed revenues.
Or they're playing wall of averages because not everybody's me.
Right.
Not everybody's as bullheaded as I am.
That's saying something.
So they just figure the LCD.
Just fight.
It's just going to fight through it.
But the other thing they don't understand is a lot of these young people.
These younger kids with the clothes in the hair.
They don't remember the rabbit hold that those things can become.
That you click a banner ad and it opens up 19 other windows.
Because somebody's even more money hungry.
Or you click that banner ad and all of a sudden stuff's getting downloaded
to your PC that you're not aware of.
Now aware of like a fool.
And this website that I'm not naming was notorious for that for about a minute.
Really?
Oh, yeah.
You don't have to let me know who this was all fair.
Oh, you can figure it out.
If you think about hard enough, you think about my web browsing.
Hmm.
Okay.
Chad just gave me a hand signal and he knows exactly what I'm talking about.
I took a shot in the dark.
I got to figure this much.
So if you're a web master, let's tap the break just a little bit.
You might wind up with a better revenue stream because people will respect you more.
Yeah, because this this doesn't really help you.
I mean, does it put money in your pockets?
Yes, but does it does it scare away your user base?
So you're you know, you're client base or you know, everyone.
I ever want to define it.
You know, you're not really getting that much money where people just start bailing on you.
Yep, I'm just saying.
All right, let us move on to do a little bit of NBA talk.
Not a lot going on in the league this week.
So let's go to standings in the eastern conference in the Atlantic division.
The Brooklyn nets, who are still apparently looking for the Brooklyn Queens.
They've lost nine in a row.
Their current law streak is one game more than their total number of wins this season.
Welcome, grenade just went off.
There's like nine people out there.
It was like, oh, and everybody else is like, I'm going to have to Google what he just said.
Oh, man, you good.
So, so think about that for a minute.
They've lost nine in a row.
They've won eight games this season.
They're eight and thirty one right now.
I God.
I mean, they're now just 18 and a half back.
Just jazzy have controlling interest in the team or just the building that they play in.
I don't know anymore because I think he had to sell that interest because of his sports agent.
Oh, okay, okay.
But they're still only four and a half games back on the 76ers.
What?
Second and one.
Okay, okay, okay.
I got confused.
The Philadelphia 70 six.
Wait, we were talking about this at work the other day.
With my boss and Kevin and myself.
A lot of people and are in his boss, too.
We were by the way, it is yesterday was my boss's birthday.
So happy birthday, Brad.
He actually told me that I was teaching on the other side of a wall from where he was.
And he goes, I can hear you through the wall.
So I'm distracting myself by listening to your podcast.
And I said, you know what?
That's cool.
That is cool.
My boss is cool.
I was just good to be distracted myself from your voice.
But listen to your voice.
Okay, seems not to me.
But we were talking about how, you know, for the last two or three years.
A lot of people have talked about Philly just trying to tank it.
So they can get the number one draft pick.
The problem you have in the league right now
is if you're not Cleveland or Golden State, it doesn't matter.
Like the league itself is on such a down cycle.
Even your beloved hometown team has had such a rapid decline.
It's frightening.
But the problem is they're not alone in that boat.
There's so many teams that are hurting so badly that the next couple of years.
It's like the change of the guard all happened at the same time.
Yeah, it's the lean years have begun for
the majority of the league.
Not just to chosen few.
So Philly 14 back in the division.
They're five and a half back on the next.
The next are seven and a half on Boston.
Boston is only two games back on Toronto.
But Toronto's on a three game win streak.
Boston's on a two game win streak.
Everybody else on in the division has been losing in the central division.
The Detroit pistons.
Man, I remember when you were somebody.
They're 12 and a half back.
They've lost three in a row.
They're two and a half games back on the bulls.
But I remember when you were somebody.
The bulls are a game back on both on Indiana and Milo.
What, hey.
And those two games are nine back on Cleveland.
Cleveland's 29 and 10 right now.
Cleveland's a beast in the southeast division.
I need the last place.
Um, excuse me.
Lost four in a row.
They're 12 and a half back and they're five and a half back on Orlando.
Orlando's four back on Charlotte.
Charlotte dropped forward a row.
But they're three back in the division.
So the, before they're, they're probably person division.
They're, they're half game back on the bullets.
I mean, the wizards.
The wizards are two and a half back on Atlanta.
We love, we love poking that bear.
There's only one team in that town that matters.
And they don't even matter right now because I don't count the falcons.
That's right.
Kostaki, I'm talking to you.
In the western conference, specific division, phoenix.
They're in a one game win streak.
They're 21 games back in the division.
But they're tied with the lakers.
The lakers have dropped three in a row.
Well, when was the last time?
But you know what, if I, if I can say one thing to the other lakers.
Give Walton time.
He just got to coach the team.
I did not think he'd be this good of a coach.
But when Steve Kerr was out for Golden State, he coached the crap out of that team.
He doesn't get nearly the credit.
I believe he should.
Both of those teams are four and a half, three and a half back on second.
I'm in to who's 10 and a half back on the clippers.
But the clippers are seven back on Golden State.
But the clippers of one six and a row.
Probably miss Golden State's one three and a row.
So they're just keeping it up in the northwest division.
Minasoda is 11 and a half back.
They're two and two.
Two and a half games behind Denver.
Denver's a game behind Portland.
Portland is seven and a half back on Oklahoma City.
Yeah, right over there.
Looks like you may have had an interception, but there is a flag.
That we got picked off or that we know you may have had an interception.
But there's a flag on the play in a minute, 52 to go.
Of Oklahoma City's a game and a half back on Utah.
Utah's one three and a row.
So they're also seven and three in their last 10.
In the Southwest division, your Dallas Mavericks.
Oh, God.
They've won two and a row.
We're in two game win streak, but they're 13 and 27 right now.
They're 18 games back.
They're three, two and a half back on Nolan's.
Nolan's is eight and a half back on Memphis.
Memphis is seven back on six back on Houston.
Houston's only a game back on San Antonio.
It's on Dallas.
Passing her parents.
It's doesn't count.
God.
And now you're going to have first down at spot of the foul.
I'm sure they've got a great field position too.
Yeah.
So they're basically going to run three plays.
There's more touch.
I'm going to feel closer to God's thing.
So those are your NBA standings.
That's going to do some music talk, shall we?
Let's do not much in music talk.
Only one headline, but I thought you'd be interested in this this week.
Half of this, you'll be interested in.
I'm not going to be facetious here.
I'm not going to lead you down the Primrose path.
I'm telling you you're going to be okay with half of what I'm about to say.
Okay, it was released.
I believe on Thursday as we know, we are two months and two days from the release
of Disney's live action beauty in the beast.
All right.
I'm in on this.
Oh, I am too.
You got me in right now.
They released this week who will be redoing the theme song.
As we all remember, the classic Pebo Bryson Celine Dion duet, right?
John Legend.
Okay, Ariana Grande.
So if you're into, hey, hello, that's it.
That's what you're going to get.
I'm just saying.
My area of Grande is dead on.
Dead on.
You're so so wrong.
That's that.
When is she made?
I never thought I would see the day where somebody over sang more than Christina Aguilera.
This young lady is your clubhouse leader right now.
Just beyond say has to listen to her music and go, hey, can we slow down?
Wow.
I remember the first time I saw her, but where she had blown up and she was
done the pre show.
You remember the year, the VMAs were in Brooklyn and they had the pre show
like on a city street.
Yes, she was part of that pre show.
And I remember watching it and going,
the hell was that?
I don't get it.
I've never gotten it.
I don't think I'm supposed to get it.
It's like R&B Yodeling.
Well, you know, I gave that label to trace songs a long time ago.
He he over does it on his.
Yeah, that's.
When I saw him try to cover purple rain at the BET Awards when they
honored Prince in 2010 and it's not he basically just sounded like a goat
the whole time and I don't mean greatest of all time.
A literal goat and not in a Jericho.
No, only one music new release that I even recognized this week.
And it was from AFI who is releasing a album called the American film.
The American film is the blood album.
Not the American film institution sir.
So you got that going for you couple of in memoriams this week.
And a first this week in the history of this show where we have
somebody in memoriam.
That is not a person.
I know where you're going with this and this crushed me came down
yesterday as they announced as they're doing shows in Orlando in Fort
Latter.
I'm sorry, Linda with Miami that after 146 years,
when the brother circus is shutting down that kills.
They're saying it's not one specific thing.
They're saying that we know what the part of it is declining
attendance part of it is competition for your your entertainment
dollar part of it is having to deal with a lot of animal rights
groups and they said that they said that that's part of it.
I think it all comes down to how much money they're generating
and everything that you mentioned after the the money issue has
just been taking money away.
Yeah, and they've been trying I mean they've been trying to work with
all these groups to get this stuff done.
All right, we have a fourth down situation with a minute 38 to go.
Rogers is walking off the field.
Here comes the field or it'll go unit.
But I never got to see ring brother.
Never never did.
See, my dad took me several times in high school and we took our
we took the the squid once or twice.
Um, when it was I think like the very first time it played at the AC.
Kick is up.
Kick is good.
Minute 33 to go.
Boy, that didn't make it by much.
Nope.
But that makes me sad that you never got to see it never did.
I thought it's unfortunate.
You kind of struck me as the kind of guy that saw this.
I would have I would have loved to.
That was like 45.
So that was a 55.
They ever feel like I was a heck of a kick.
I would have loved to.
Charlotte used to go every year.
And boy, it's been cleared by much.
Watch watch watch watch watch.
Oh, God.
Six inches of the right net hits the upright.
But yeah, Charlotte used to go every year.
And I don't I think I believe they're they're finishing out through like
September in New York.
So they're playing their life.
So they will come through here.
Maybe I'll try to go.
I'm going to say if they come through here one last time.
It's kind of a no brand or you kind of need to go.
And it always happens in like July mid or early.
Go hit.
I'll hit here for some dates in July.
I'm going to go to Fort Worth.
Uh-huh.
So if you're going to go, you need to make it this year.
146 years sir.
I mean, that's you want to talk about an institution.
19.
What was that?
No 1871.
Would be your first one if I do my math correctly.
And I want to say my kids still has her lifetime ticket.
Wow.
The the year that my daughter was conceived was the year that they were
coming up on their big anniversary.
Uh, I can't remember exactly.
Probably.
Um, I'm terrified and 25.
I think so.
And so they said that according to bring the next part of it.
Now I can do that.
That if you had a child that was born that year,
they would get a free ticket to be redeemable at any time of their life.
Oh, that's awesome.
And it was in her baby book.
So I'm assuming she has it.
And if she's going to cash it in, this would be the time to do it.
So yeah, you might want to get a hold of her.
Yeah.
And also coming down this morning.
A lot of people were already touting 2017.
But if you go back and you look at 2016 at this point,
we already had a couple of big deaths, right?
This one that we're going to talk about.
I don't know.
I'm going to put on the bowing level because
there were a lot of people that know who he is,
but I don't know that they would have the impact that a bowie would have,
or a prince would have or a prince would have or a prince.
My goal ever, Alan Rickman.
But Jimmy Superfice is not going to pass us away at 73 this weekend.
Probably shot past a lot of life expectancy that people gave him a shot at.
But right off, if you remember,
Mick Foley's first book and one of the things that one of the big matches
in wrestling history they talk about is when Snooka flew off the cage.
He was the first person to do it at Madison Square Garden.
Because he was a superfly.
So what he did, exactly.
Wrestle barefoot.
Mick was there in the front row.
Mick actually shows the picture and circles where he sat.
And apparently, I heard a rumor that Edge was there too, as a kid.
I think you're right.
I think he talked about that during his retirement speech.
I think this was a guy that really was one of the early high flyers.
He was the guy that.
That a lot of people credit as being the reason they became a wrestler.
I mean, he was part of the Samoan lineage.
And a lot of people think it's a joke when they say they're related.
No, like there is a lineage of Samoans that are all related within two to three steps.
So you can put Snooka in the bloodline with Yoko Zuna and with the rock and with the Usos and with Naya Jax.
It's all there.
I mean, the wild Samoans.
I don't know a lot of people would say, oh, they all look alike.
Well, there's a reason for that.
There were, I mean, they're family.
They're a family.
Alpha.
Sika.
I mean, it's the wild Samoans.
They're all there.
Snooka was one of those guys.
Hold along the mic.
But he had his moments.
But it was okay because he was Snooka.
Yeah, he could have somebody else cut the promo for him.
And then he'd go in the ring and do what he does.
The only thing I could immediately come to mind is system A system A.
Is that Russell, maybe a 20?
I can't remember.
Wait, I didn't know somebody to 25.
Is he the 20 or 25?
And I'm like you in the in the aspect of it's fourth and three.
By the way, from the 38 yard line.
So that would be 38, 40 and 755.
Um, they're going to do it.
37 seconds to go.
God.
I'm happy that he had the life that he had.
He had some rough deals there in the last couple of years with the murder trial.
And yeah, I hate that that's how he kind of went out.
But he was loved.
He's a Hall of Famer.
There it is.
Good Lord, matching 55 yard field goals.
Time ball game.
Yep.
And 35 seconds and the green base getting the ball unless Dallas can pull off the
on sidekick.
But he will be remembered.
He will be missed.
And there will be people that are going to take their shots because that's what people do.
I will always hold snuck it in a very high regard because it was a piece of my
childhood as well.
And having been a lifelong literally lifelong wrestling fan and pseudo historian,
mostly in my brain.
He, he was a first Bell Hall Famer.
Like he was a guy that really brought something different to the sport that
nobody really could do back then.
Oh, they kid.
They could.
They just didn't try.
Well, I mean, if you don't have snuck a doing what he does, you don't have
some of this stuff that even Sean Michaels ever did.
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
You know, Sean risk taking came from snuck this style.
And I really hope we get to hear from Sean.
And we're going to talk about Sean a little bit here in a little while because he was on
Roth this week.
But he will be missed 73 years old.
And unless there's anything else you have, we can move on.
Oh, no.
Roth, Roth is going to be must must watch TV tomorrow night because you know they're going
to put a big chunk of them dedicated to him, at least they should.
I hope so.
I really do, but it's also.
So remember, also we want to say tomorrow is MLK day.
So make sure that you're you're discussing who he was and the legacy that he still
carries to this day.
Make sure that for the for the kids that don't know make sure you're sharing that with
them.
It's not just a day that some like me, I'll be off tomorrow.
But it's not just a day out for work.
There's something behind it.
Right.
And please make sure that we keep his dreams and hit the things that he could stood
for alive.
It's very important.
So all right.
Are you ready to get into the little NHL talk?
Oh, yeah, go ahead.
All right, NHL talk.
We're going to go straight to standings.
Again, not a lot going on in the league this week.
Did you notice how they're doing the all-star game this year?
I just noticed.
I just know what to know.
Hey, I mean, what's what's going to be.
It's going to be each conference is going to have three three man teams.
Okay.
Around Robin's style.
And if I'm not mistaken, neither my Panthers nor my
Lightning will be represented.
Stars have one player.
Now does the game does the game stand for anything yet?
Does it, does it decide anything?
And Majorly baseball doesn't anymore either.
Oh, really?
They got rid of it.
The new CBA says that the all-star game will now not determine homefield
in the world series.
I liked it.
It gives him something to play for.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, a lot of people didn't like it.
Oh, because they fear change.
Or are they just resisted?
I liked it.
I thought it was a great idea.
I mean, yeah, it actually made it stand for something first.
So let's go to the Atlantic division of the eastern conference.
The hated Buffalo sobraise.
They have 41 points.
We were trying to pull the task here.
They are 19 points out of first.
They're a point behind the hated Detroit Red wings.
Red wings, two behind Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay,
four back on Florida.
Florida is tied with Otorua and Toronto.
There's a three way tie for third place right now.
They're all three points behind Boston,
Boston now, nine back on Montreal.
The Canadian's all.
Turn it, you beat me to it.
Sure, I was not here.
Somebody has to do it.
And what do we know about the other division in the eastern conference?
We haven't done it yet this year.
It is.
No much of home division.
You do that better than that.
Oh, down goes down goes Rogers second in 16.
And they lose room division.
I just feel like there's a bunch of people in Muffy and Biff at these games.
I don't know what it is.
This lighting I keep seeing.
Yes.
Well, it's what's the storm all night.
The islanders 40 points.
They're 23 points out of first place.
They're three back on Jersey.
Jersey six back on Carolina.
Carolina is a point behind the flyers.
Filly seven points back on the Rangers who are tied with Pittsburgh
for third.
Columbus is five points ahead of them, but only one point behind Washington.
Have you been monitoring the Columbus Bluejacket sir?
No, last week they were one game from tying the all time win streak record.
They won this 16 in a row got beat on the road by Washington.
They would have tied the 93 94 penguins at 17 in a row.
Who to thought that?
Not this guy.
So reason I watch ESPN in the Western conference in the central division that has no
Eastern or Western divisions.
Colorado 27 points.
They are.
They are 32 points back.
And there's 17 points behind Winnipeg such yets.
Winnipeg tied with your Dallas stars at 44 points.
They're both three three points behind the national predators.
National two back on St. Louis Saint Louis is 10 back on Chicago who's tied
with Minnesota, but Minnesota's one three on a row.
And in the Pacific division.
The Arizona I can't get used to the Arizona coyotes.
It's just weird.
Why did they change that anyway?
Well, because it couldn't be Phoenix anymore.
Well, I think the league owns them now.
Like that's how bad.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah, yeah.
Rogers rolls back from his own 25.
He's got seven seconds.
He throws caught.
Yes.
Oh, my God.
Thought on Dallas's 32 yard line.
It's over.
It's over three seconds to go.
And they have a time out to spare.
Could this be the most score?
Show we've ever done.
I just, I just, this is what happens when we do a shoulder in the playoffs.
That's why we don't do a show in Super Bowl Sunday.
I just got sick.
This is how this ends.
But you know what?
Probably that going to go down as the best game of the weekend.
Yeah, that's a catch.
Arizona 32 points.
They are 24 points out of first place.
They are seven points back.
I'm sorry.
13 points back on Vancouver.
Vancouver three back on the kings.
The kings are a point behind Calgary.
Calgary three back on Senna.
Oh, let's say the sharks are one point back on Edmonton Edmonton.
Edmonton is three back on Anna.
I mean, I don't have a dog on this fight, so I can be objective.
But you know what, and I'm going to say this right now before we get into wrestling talk.
Cowboy fans.
If you lose this game, we're not calling for anybody's heads.
There is nobody on God's green earth that could have predicted 13 and three for this season.
That wasn't wearing blue shaded glasses.
This season with the situation Dallas was in.
Nobody could have predicted this.
And they came through this like a champ.
So, so if this field goal goes and this is over,
or we get free football and they lose.
This is a successful season for Dallas Cowboys.
I'm saying it.
After the debacle that last season was, nobody thought I didn't think my dolphins were going to get to the playoffs.
That's great.
And we had to play Pittsburgh, but still, but you made it.
We made it to the playoffs.
So I think, and when you're in a division with the Patriots, you hope for a wild card.
I think it's in this era.
I think it ended on a positive for both of us.
If for me, it ends tonight with the Cowboys.
I agree with you.
Now, granted, we got taken to the wood shed.
But Dallas has fought this game.
They got behind early.
They never gave up.
When you got a guy like Des Bryant who's on the sideline.
And he's still trying to fire up the troops.
Call us confirmed.
A guy that two years ago was the primo deba on the team.
And now he's doing interviews with Aaron Andrews in the pregame.
I don't know if you saw this.
But he's like, you know what?
I'm just, I'm enjoying this ride.
I said that these guys were in the future.
Didn't expect it to happen this quickly.
But I said, like, it was, I mean, I looked at Des and I'm like, who is this guy?
That was a great interview.
He has a, a much greater.
So we're going to put a pause on the show while we watch this happen.
We're going to talk about this live.
The kick is up.
The kick has the distance.
The kick is good.
We out Dallas did not.
He iced the kicker.
I hate that move.
And my teams are just as guilty of it as anybody else.
And I hate that move.
I do too.
I understand it, especially in situations like this, but I really hate it.
I've never been a fan of that.
Still.
We'll do a couple of resting headlines while we're waiting for this to happen.
Are you ready?
On February 28th for the Jetsons and WWE Robo Wrestlemania?
Are you serious?
I'm not kidding.
I'm not kidding.
Like I wish I was kidding with first Scooby and now the Jetsons.
So are have they done them on with the Flintstones yet?
Yes.
They did.
Yes.
Good Lord.
Yes.
You haven't even heard.
Okay.
Here's his kick is up.
Kick has the distance.
Kick is good.
By just the same amount from the other side of the last kick.
So are you ready?
Are you ready for your synopsis?
Because remember the Jetsons is the future.
Great.
I can't do thing.
Good close enough.
After a hundred years, Frenchy is unfrozen.
And tries to take over as the Jetsons and list some of the top superstars to stop
him.
Like Seth Rollins.
Like woman.
Okay.
You can stop now.
I'm not kidding.
No.
Neither am I.
You can stop.
Yeah.
That's the thing.
That is a stupid thing.
This is a thing.
Also this week, Enzo Omore's injury is legit.
Okay.
The injury.
He'll be re-evaluated next week.
That's all we know.
Boy, he barely made that thing, too.
All right.
Are you ready for some raw notes?
Did you watch Raw this week?
No, I did not.
Why not brought it this week?
Beautiful green dress.
She was wearing the hair was down and done up.
But it was also the same segment that HBK was in.
Oh.
And they were talking about the golden globes.
And HBK actually says, look, you can't say golden globes and spin her around.
It's just not big.
And you think that's funny.
Oh no.
It gets better.
Well, this is Sean.
We're talking about here.
It gets better.
So Enzo and Big Cass come out.
And they're doing their bit.
And Enzo gets in the ring and he points it.
Jinder Mahal and Bruce F.
And he goes, what do we have it?
And Sean goes, hold on, hold on.
I know what you can say.
This is the thing.
They're haters.
They're haters.
I said that that line is worth the entire episode of Raw Monday night.
Because he was there plugging his new movie,
the resurrection of Gavin Stone, which comes out this Friday.
In case you didn't know, he said about 150 times.
Oh, they didn't know how Sean gets when he promotes things.
Oh, yes.
He makes you understand that he's doing stick for about 10 minutes.
You've never met a bigger chill in your life.
And what's the deal?
What is the deal?
Why does take her always have to take the WWE thing off the mic?
Because of his glove.
Maybe I don't.
Like, he grabbed the mic and he took it off in the ring to hold it.
Maybe his hands are just so big that he can't hold the mic with it on there.
Was he wearing the gloves?
Yes.
Maybe the gloves knocked them off or something because of those big fat gloves.
Or he can't hold the mic right.
And which is weird.
Because he just ripped that thing off and chucked it.
I was like, geez, Mark.
Wow.
But he's entered himself in the rumble.
Really?
Oh, my God.
So when it's his turn, they should go ahead and just before the clock
resets, just let him start walking because he only got two minutes mark.
Well, if he goes in, if he's entered number five, he'll have to start making his way
down there.
Number 15.
Remember, was it Russell Radio 20 when he was doing the commentary for the gimmick,
Battle Royale?
And she came out and he goes, yeah.
By the time she gets the ring, we wrestle many of 30.
Yes.
I'd love Bobby Heanon.
Such a fan of the Bobby Heanon.
Um.
Kevin Owens.
Ham and Jericho go to cut the promo with Charlie Carruso.
And you remember back in the day like the horse and would cut a promo and Rucasart
or our arm started to tell him Rick.
Yeah.
So it's cut this promo when he goes, Chris, you say stuff now.
That's not the same.
Dude, I just Kevin Owens is one of those guys that you're supposed to hate.
But she just, he plays the heel perfectly.
He plays the lap because he's not an evil heel.
He's just an, I don't give a crap about you feel.
And when you look at the guy, he just looks at the kind of guy that got picked on in the lunch room.
It's just, I think the bed's brilliant.
Um, I never would have thought he would be anywhere near the,
I mean, he's over like a fool.
I know, yeah.
It just, it doesn't add up.
When you look at him like nothing about you screams over.
Towards Daniel Bryan.
People, I mean, both of them came from ROH.
Well, which knows how to develop talent.
But Daniel was like a high, I mean, Owens is just a kind of a bully.
You know, it's, which is ironic.
Which is ironic.
Edic bully.
Yeah.
The way it works.
But that's not what God is.
He's Nelson from the Simpson.
It's got to pretty much.
Yeah.
But if I ever heard that laugh on that, oh, God, I would fall apart.
So we're continuing this Titus O'Neill new day thing.
Which you're kind of flirting with turning new to heal with this thing.
But they brought up the video.
I don't know if you remember this.
But when Titus was on NXT, the very first season of NXT,
and he dropped the cake and that, the thing where they had to run the cake
around the ring.
Hmm.
So they want to give them another chance with the cake full of.
Foodie juice.
Um, I'm not kidding you.
But if you go back and you watch the footage, like,
he pulls, he pulls that bit where he drops the cake before he crosses the finish line,
because he's celebrating.
Right.
Like, no, you didn't finish because drop.
If you watch the replay, I think they added a splash of juice out of the cake and post.
Stop it.
I'm not kidding you.
Because I looked at it and I'm like, I didn't see it at the first time.
And you go back to live.
And there's like, no, there's like, there's nothing spilled anywhere.
Put on the ground.
Very strange.
I'm just trying to avoid that.
Very strange.
But go back, I could be wrong.
But go back and watch the footage and then somebody tell me if I'm wrong.
Uh, great sign in the audience because they were in, uh,
they were in the Louisiana.
And the sign just as, and it was the guy held it right as Roman walked out.
And it just said, it's too cold for a wet hair.
Sometimes, what, sometimes, people get it right.
That's all I'm saying.
Sometimes, people get it right.
That is too funny.
That is brilliant.
I'm wrecked.
No, I'm wrecked.
That is brilliant.
That's scary.
I don't know who you are, sir, madam.
But thank you.
I did do something here real quick because I know that, uh,
Simpsons and family guy are going to run way too long tonight.
Well, who's got the late game?
NBC.
NBC.
Okay.
Okay.
That's fine.
Um, like your circle.
All of a sudden, it's recording on hour and a half.
Maybe they're already building it in, but I'm still going to do it for this one only.
Okay.
I think we're getting out.
There's a lot of just distracting going on tonight.
And, uh, in case you did not know, sir, and I'm going to put that on here for you.
Um, Chris Jericho is your new US champion.
So my whole scenario, I put forward is just completely shot, completely shot now.
Uh, wonder, as we announced last week, Russell, many of 34 is going to be a knowledge.
Back next year.
Interestingly, we found out why.
Because next year is the city of New Orleans is tricentennial.
So as part of the tricentennial celebration, they're bringing Russellmania back to New Orleans.
Somebody was all that long ago that they were there.
Two years.
About to say.
Two years ago.
Three years ago.
I'm sorry.
Russell, many of 30.
Was the Undertaker's loss?
Oh, God.
That's right.
Because he said Monday night, I am in the city where the street came to an end.
And SmackDown was in badmiration.
And NXT take over for San Antonio.
Two weeks from yesterday because this was the weekend of the UK tournament.
I do not have the winner on if you can look that up real quick or maybe I can Google it.
The NXT take over San Antonio is going to have a fatal four way for the NXT women's title.
Oxa will take on Billy Kay, Nikki Cross and Peyton Royce.
So that that card shaping up nicely.
I did say where they were, where they were playing when they came here.
What do you mean?
They're going to be at Southside.
That's ROH and NXT.
Oh, is it ROH?
ROH and NXT will both be playing there the same weekend.
Okay.
Woo, geez.
So.
But you're right.
You're absolutely right.
Let's see.
You're going to beat me to it.
I'm trying real hard.
Let's see.
We need to go back because we're not.
We're still on wrestling talk.
We're not there yet.
Music.
All right.
So we're going.
I'm getting this from our friends at WrestleZone.
Paige is still downloading.
So I'll we're doing that.
John Cena versus the Undertaker now not the plan for Wrestlemania 33 by the way.
Good.
All right.
So we are about to give you spoilers.
If you have not watched the WWE UK Championship tournament as of yet, we will be spoiling
it in three, two, don't say the one.
If you want it spoiler free, you need this for the next few seconds.
The winner of the first ever WWE UK Championship is 19 year old Tyler Bait.
So I don't know who that is.
But that's who won the tournament.
No Tyler Bait is the guy that played.
He's like a movie score.
No Tyler Bait.
So there was a 16 man tournament this weekend.
So that's your winner.
I've heard good things about the tournament.
And they're going to be doing this in other areas of the world too.
So if this goes well, they're going to be doing this in other regions.
It makes sense.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know.
Talk a little bit about SmackDown live because I sat through it.
So I'm going to tell you about it.
You suffer.
Only a couple of notes.
I actually have now finally seen the day where I dug the suit.
Miss was wearing.
Really?
It was a really good looking suit.
There's no way I pull off that suit.
But it was kind of like a black.
I don't want to use the word satin but satin tight material.
It was a really good looking suit.
He wasn't trying to be all artsy.
Fartsy with it like he has been.
That was probably probably.
It was probably predominantly silk.
But it was a good looking suit.
But anyway, but it also didn't have like it had like a.
A solidness to get it.
Right.
It didn't have like that.
It didn't look like it was just hanging off of it.
It was really well done.
It might have been a silk wool blend or something like that.
But it was solid.
I didn't credit.
And we're in a stupid hoodie.
Keep thing.
I need to take a breath.
Just a minute.
Somebody's listening to the show.
Okay.
How so?
Because remember last week when we were talking about Maluchadora and I made a prediction.
Oh, you're kidding me.
Daniel Bryan sounds SmackDown live this week.
Give him a break.
Somebody is listening to the show.
And Becky was like, no, she's not that talented.
Or she said something like that.
Oh, wow.
There's no way it could be her.
She just seems to just move like that.
But I'm telling you somebody's listening to the show.
And somebody was called in your mindset.
You really want to freak out these spare pound casters and dollars.
There's not watching the Twitter feed real closely.
Somebody is listening to the show.
That's all I'm saying.
That's all I'm saying.
Somebody's listening to the show.
I hope so.
That's not fair.
That's surely hope so.
That's fair.
That's too much going on at one time.
You need an octopus sitting beside you to hit some of these things.
There's one piece of paper that you can't really remember because who it is.
You are still listening to the clubhouse podcast because that's what we do.
We still have the games on in the studio right now.
So we're getting ready to watch Pittsburgh take on Kansas City for the final of the four slots in the championship games next Sunday.
For the final spot because we know who three of them are.
We know that Green Bay is going to take on Atlanta and the winner of the night game.
Steelers Casey will be going to Foxboro to take on the New England Patriot.
So it's currently 31 degrees in cloudy at Arrowhead as we're getting ready to get underway.
Alex Smithman getting ready to go.
Let's go to box office numbers from our friends at box office.
Mojo dot com.
That's the money.
Perfect.
Thank you sir.
Dropping out of the top 10 this week.
We've got to get quite a few dropping out of the top 10 this week.
Moana drop up.
So that's just yeah.
Moana drops from 8 to 12 with 3.9 million dollars.
They're going to be okay after 8 weeks making over a quarter of a billion dollars.
Why him drops from 7 to 13 with 3.4 million dollars.
4 weeks 55 million on a 38 million dollar budget.
And fences drops from 9 to 14 to 0.7 million dollars.
5 weeks 46 million dollars 24 million dollar budget.
Assassin's Creed drops from 10 to 18 this week.
Oh God.
1.5 million dollars.
4 weeks 53 million for a 125 million dollar budget.
Ouch.
Tough.
Tough week for them.
Dropping from 6 to 10 this week is passengers 5.6.
6.5 million dollars.
4 weeks 90 million 110 million dollar budget.
Bad.
It's going to have to rely on that that foreign market.
I do want to say honorable mention of the 11th up from 43.
His live by night.
It has increased its revenue.
20,000 and 50.8 percent.
Oh.
But it added 20.
It went.
It went.
Yeah.
I just like throwing out weird numbers like that.
But I'm telling you destroyed by critics.
Yeah.
You said that last week.
Dropping from 4 to 9 this week.
Underworld Blood Wars.
5.8 million dollars.
2 weeks.
24 million dollars.
It's still 11 million below budget.
Day viewing in 8th this week.
Sleepless.
Don't expect it to go any higher.
8.5 million dollars.
Monster trucks day views in 7 with 10 and a half million dollars.
Patriots day gets its wide release.
It goes from 30 to 6.
This week.
Increasing its numbers 11,350.1 percent by adding 3,100 theaters.
12,13 million.
45 million dollar budget.
Friend of the show Chris Randall went and saw this.
He really enjoyed it.
Very much enjoyed this film.
We have a weather report coming across right now.
Looks like we have a big storm front coming up from the south.
Yeah.
It looks like a fireworks display out the window.
The buy by man.
They've used it number 5 with 13.4 million dollars.
Budget with 7.4.
Not bad.
Haven't no desire.
Dropping from the silver middle of the fourth place this week.
Rogue won a star war story last night.
SNL hosted by Felicity Jones.
Enjoyable.
Very enjoyable.
There's a great sketch.
They do call the princess in the curse.
Which we'll talk about on fair.
13.8 million dollars.
And five weeks it has crossed the half a billion dollar domestic mark.
I guess the number three grossing film of last year.
Which is not bad.
Concernia came up about two weeks before the year ended.
Right?
Still in the bronze medal.
Sing another 13.8 million dollars.
Quite a go man.
Four weeks, 233 million, 75 million dollar budget.
This is what happens when you do quality films.
You make stuff that people actually enjoy.
I love this movie.
I did too.
Oh, and speaking of movies that I love.
And I think you're full of crap.
I watched Pitch Perfect 2 last night.
And I loved that film.
When Keegan Michael Keys says,
My time is like a toddler with a tiara.
It is precious and it is short.
It just.
I love that movie.
It just didn't nothing for me.
As much as I love the first one, this one just didn't nothing.
20 minutes and I texted Charlotte said,
I'm 20 minutes in and Chad's full of crap.
I love this movie.
She goes as you should.
La La Land goes from five to two this week.
So after the Golden Globes Award gets a nice little bump.
It's in the silver medal 14.5 million six weeks,
74 million, 30 million dollar budget.
I love this movie.
I never really got your real very much enjoyed this film.
Very much enjoyed La La Land.
We just kind of barely touched on it when we were doing our best of shows.
And top of it because we actually had a little bit of a jump last week.
Remember last week.
We said there was a very slim margin between Rogue One and Hidden Figures.
When the final numbers came in, Rogue One lost to it last week.
Wow.
So repeating in the number one spot this week is Hidden Figures.
20.5 million, four weeks, 54.9 million dollars, 25 million dollar budget.
I love this movie.
As Jedi.
I love this movie.
But let's talk about the Golden Globes last week.
And for those of you that don't know,
Chad and Donna and I are a member.
We're not collectively.
We're not like the board.
We are members of the New York Texas Film Critics Association.
Yes.
And recently the New York Texas Film Critics Association.
We got together and we did our vote for the best of 2016.
We didn't differ much from the Hollywood Foreign Press.
Not bad.
La La Land did set the record last Sunday night with seven wins.
The only one close recently was the social network in 2009 with three.
But it tied.
And it beat the record at beat was a tie.
For Midnight Express had six and 1978.
And Kukus and S.T. had six and 1975.
We named Best Picture La La Land.
One that.
We named Best Director Damien Shazel,
who also wrote for the screenplay at the Golden Globes.
Our Best Animated Feature was Zootopia, which also was said by the Golden Globes.
Our Best Foreign Film was L.
That was out.
I believe that one one as well.
I have to double check on that.
Our Best Documentary was my favorite film with a year.
Gleason.
Best cinematography also went to La La Land.
For Linus Sandgren.
Michael Shannon, we gave Best Supporting Actor for Notcturnal Animals.
Best Supporting Actress Michelle Williams,
Manchester by the C.
Best Actor, KCF, lack in Best Actress Natalie Portman for Jackie.
So when you compare that to the Golden Globes,
let's go through everything that one real quick.
Like I said, La La Land gets seven.
Emma Stone wins Ryan Gosling wins
Damien Shazel, director and screenplay.
City of Stars gets original song.
Justin Horowitz wins for original score.
As we go down the list, Moonlight won for Best Drama.
Don really enjoyed that.
As did the movie brothers.
I hear a lot of good things about that film.
Foreign Language Film.
We said L.V. said L.V. as well.
Isabel who pair?
Is it who pair?
I believe that's how you say that.
She won for Best Actress in a Drama.
Casey Affleck, who we named Best Actor.
They gave him Best Actor Drama.
Viola Davis wins Best Supporting Actress Drama for Fences.
Which I thought was weird because I would have nominated her for Best Root for Lead.
Yeah, that didn't make a lot of sense.
Kevin from the movie brothers and I had a really extensive talk about this last night.
We couldn't figure it out.
Aaron Taylor Johnson wins Best Supporting Actor for Notcturnal Animals.
I didn't realize he was in that.
Yes.
Yes he is.
Atlanta.
Okay.
That was kind of disturbing me.
That movie is disturbing.
Atlanta is the best TV series musical or comedy.
And Donald Glover wins for Best Actor in musical or comedy.
TV series drama goes to the Crown.
Another Netflix win.
Which also Claire Foie wins Best Actress on that.
Or maybe.
I don't know.
Tom Hiddleston.
Got a Golden Globe for the Night Manager.
As did Olivia Coleman and Hugh Laurie.
And Hugh Laurie.
We talked about Zootopia.
Our motion picture made for television goes to American crime story.
People versus OJ Sims.
And we're Sarah Pulse and also one Best Actress in that category.
And she should.
Tracy Ellis Ross.
One Best Actress for TV series musical comedy for Blackish.
Billy Bob Thornton wins for actor TV series drama.
So interesting night at the Golden Globes.
And next week, next Tuesday, we'll be the Oscar nominations.
So we're going to see how we fared up against them as well.
I love this time here.
Yeah.
I love this time here, sir.
Did you hear about this thing with Sag Aftera and IMDB?
No.
Apparently California is putting forth a new law.
That Sag Aftera is working with them on.
That's going to try to force IMDB to take down the ages of actors.
I did hear about this.
This is interesting.
And they were one of the examples that the use was Gabriel Carteras when she auditioned for
90210.
But they were all in their 30s.
Yeah.
Have you seen Greece?
Not kidding.
Didn't realize you had to be 38 to be a senior in high school.
But it didn't bother us back then.
Who cares?
No.
No.
Like this is one of those making a mountain out of a motel.
Brother, you ain't lying?
Um, if you're.
Am I.
Okay.
I heard my part of the echo thing.
I had to get facts.
Sorry about that.
If you're a fan of the Moana.
Next month, there will be a single-long version released in theaters.
Really?
They announced that this was.
That's that's really becoming a thing, isn't it?
Well, you know, thank you Alamo Draft House.
Not saying, you know, just saying.
Hamilton.
You and I talked about this this past week.
Hamilton is touring the country and joining the production to play.
Amber is one rain Brady, which I think is an excellent fit.
Interesting choice.
I'm hoping it comes here.
Go ahead and see.
Because the man can sing.
We did get a verification this week.
That episode eight will take immediately.
Take place immediately after episode seven.
Did you get attacked by Jasper?
Like 15 times now.
He's my good boy.
He's like just going to town on my calf.
Both of them are just they're very, very snuggly today.
High Jasper.
Well, scared a crap.
I can't be on the show.
I'm just checking in daddy.
So episode eight going to take right take place right after episode seven.
It's going to be no time.
That goes by real curious.
So we need a trailer.
We need a trailer.
Come on kids.
Well, I mean, we had and you know what you're doing.
It's going to trailer together.
We had a trailer for episode seven.
The November.
Before the year before.
Yeah.
Episode.
So they've already missed that mark.
That's so hard to miss that window.
Yeah.
I figured that maybe they were going to give us a trailer for when we went.
It's all rogue.
That's what I thought too.
Now.
We have a pseudo crossing the streams, but yet not crossing the stream situation going on at Marvel.
It was announced this week that joining the cast of Infinity War is going to be one Peter
Dinklage.
Not playing the same role.
I'm assuming.
No.
Nobody knows.
But the theory is he's playing puck from Alpha Flight.
Okay.
Which I'm on board with.
Yeah.
But.
On one hand, you're like, hold on.
It's still Marvel, but on the other hand, you say Chris Evans.
Yeah.
Exactly.
So yeah.
That kind of washes that.
So.
But can we just get this together?
Come on, Fox.
Like stop being stubborn.
Just get this done.
If they could get it done with Sony.
They can get it done with Fox.
And seem to be getting it done very well.
Yes.
Are you ready for a Dumbo live action film?
As long as we're not revisiting Operation Dumbo drop, I guess it could be fine.
Put it in the plane.
Two seriously.
Dude.
You know you can't do it.
You are going there.
I have a Danny Glover reference.
And not have that come up.
You can't do it.
Okay.
Give it to the elephant.
That is.
Okay.
Stop it.
Stop it.
Stop it.
I'm talking to you, Jack.
Could I.
Could I interest you in a Dumbo live action remake with Tom Hanks?
Yeah.
And the picture that they have him in an IMDV with the article for some reason.
He's growing a mustache.
I don't know why.
And it looks real wills off.
Will Smith.
Yes.
Looks incredibly wills off.
Is he playing the mouse?
I don't know.
I wonder.
You know.
I'm serious.
I wonder if he's playing his mouth piece.
I don't know.
We talked about pitch perfect to earlier and which of course feeds into my unhealthy crush on the Anna Kendrick.
She will be doing a Christmas film upcoming for Disney where she will be playing the daughter of Santa Claus.
The original story stage female Santa Claus.
It has come out since the she'll be playing his daughter.
Okay.
Can I have a canter?
How you doing?
By the way, I would say in that long before Enzo and Castle.
Just be clear on that.
Yeah.
You're the first person there.
I'm just saying.
No.
They did it before I did it.
They took it for me.
Yeah.
Matt LeBlanc did it before you did it.
So true.
I'm just not saying I didn't take it from them.
Green Lantern Core is moving for with a July 24th, 2020 release.
We'll have both Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
And is being built as lethal weapon in space.
I'm a spice.
I'm a spice.
I hope that's just a bad analogy that somebody's going out there.
That seems kind of silly to me.
I'm just speaking of put it on the plane.
Daniel Wu has joined the Tomb Raider reboot.
Does this do anything for him?
Daniel Wu?
Mm-hmm.
Daniel Wu?
No.
Showed it.
But he's not into the bad lines.
He's pretty awesome.
I can't.
But he's been out there stuff too.
I'm Felicia Rassad.
It has been verified this week.
We'll be in Black Panther.
Yes, I saw that.
This cast just keeps getting more along.
Can we get this movie done like right now please?
Everybody wants to be in this thing.
I'm very excited about this film.
I'm telling you.
I'm as excited about Black Panther as I am.
Anything on the marble slate right now.
I'm dead serious.
Just that little taste that we got in civil war just made me.
Yeah, I'm with you.
Because my whole thing was man.
I don't think she's up the costume.
Boy, they didn't.
God, did they kill it.
That's got the costume was dope, dude.
Just knowing whenever I heard that that boesman was playing the part on,
I'm like, I don't think I could have picked a better person.
If you put a gun to my head.
Well, and we thought that.
But there's always that little margin for air until civil war came out.
Then you're like, no, I'm good.
Yeah, he's, he's, he's perfect in that role.
Movie new releases in places you see movie new releases this week.
Triple X return of Xander Cage.
And did I see the latest trailer correctly that ice cube is in this?
Yeah, he says something like X is help out their own or something.
I was like, the founder, which we'll be seeing this week and give you a review of
with Michael Keaton playing Ray a crock.
Very interested in this film.
I'm fascinated by the new Shaman Lamar England movie split,
which we will also be reviewing for you at some point this week.
And you know what?
And I do.
I'm a huge fan of Mac of Boy.
This movie just creeps me out.
Yeah.
And it's supposed to.
It's what the Shaman Lamar Lamar Lamar England does.
But what?
No.
You know, you had me there for a second.
Just for a moment, you had me.
And the wide release of 20th century women, which you can actually read and listen to
our reviews on right now.
Indeed.
Spoiler alert.
I love this movie.
I love this movie a lot.
Do you need to see this film?
Spoiler alert.
Somebody else didn't.
Yes.
And it wasn't me.
Also, we talked about HBK earlier with the resurrection of Gavin Stone.
That's the name of the movie.
He's got coming out this week.
He also stars the guy that played the rogue agent on agents of shield.
He's the main character.
Basically, he decides he's going to be part of a Christian play, but he's not a religious man.
So he's just like taking the game.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Well, they start.
They were plugging this thing a long time ago.
Yeah.
I mean, actually the trailer a while back.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't even know what to heck.
I'm assuming I was probably watching something WWE related.
Also, can I interest you in a movie called Tress Pass against us?
Man looks for a find a way to escape the criminal ways of his outlaw family.
Me throw some names at you.
I say, yeah, throw some people involved at me.
We're already can here.
Okay.
Killian Scott.
Brendan Gleason.
Okay.
Michael Fassbender.
Okay.
Yeah.
That releases this week as well.
DVD and blue right new red leases in places you get DVD and blue right new releases.
The girl of the train this week releases.
Keeping up with the Joneses.
I actually still want to see this.
I'm so much interested in this.
Uh, we just originate evil.
I'm out.
Uh, remember the surf's up to wave mania.
Seriously.
You don't remember this.
We're talking about we're like triple H and Undertaker.
Uh, seeing that are like penguins.
Oh, God.
Yeah, that's happening.
They need to stop that.
Uh, two movies this week from the criterion collection.
Fox and his friends and the not the 80s version of something wild.
But the old version with Carol Baker and Ralph Meaker.
Okay.
And WWE best paper view matches of 2016.
I'm surprised they're still doing those.
I have two.
You've got to network now.
Got to make your money.
Uh, tech corner this week.
Congratulations.
Sony as of this past week over 53 million PS4s have been sold.
And they're releasing another a white slim version of it.
Very, very soon.
Good night.
Uh, in just as two has a release date.
May 16th.
Also they're going to hit before summer.
Okay.
So that's going to happen.
If you have a PC and you've been waiting on WWE 2K 17 that will be coming next month.
Really?
What took them so long?
And Nintendo Switch has a release date.
March 3rd.
Uh-huh.
299 is your price point.
And Minecraft has been announced for it.
You are segue perfectly into the list by the way.
Perfect.
Because why?
Because I can.
So let's just I'm just going to keep the tech talk music going.
Because obviously that has to do with the list.
So let's get to the list.
We had every show with a list.
It is Chad's turn.
Well, I watched their big event that streamed live earlier in the week.
That Nintendo was having this big, uh, for the Switch.
Yeah, for the Switch.
And there were things that left me hopeful.
And there were things that left me going.
Oh, God.
Not again.
Okay.
So I've put.
By the way, Pittsburgh up three to think.
Well, that will make it unhappy.
Um, I put together a list of ways that Nintendo can avoid.
Another.
We, you virtual boy debacle and hopefully make the Switch.
This is for me.
The, the virtual boy.
Yes.
That was a debacle.
But the Wii you shouldn't have been.
It shouldn't have been.
No, I agree with you.
Because I, I got it.
Because my, my biggest beef with the Wii U is you should have been able to use more than one of the big controllers.
That was my biggest beef with the Wii U.
Maybe so.
But there were so many people that didn't truly ever understand what the Wii U was.
I mean, still to this day.
There wasn't.
It was barely marketed.
Oh, okay.
So we're, we're going to go.
We're, we're not care.
We're going to start carving into my list.
There.
I'm going to go ahead, sir.
No, no, no, no.
Number 10.
Give us a reason of why we want slash need this thing.
Give me one reason to bother system.
Because the enormous potential that this thing have.
I don't know if you, if you watched any of the footage from this, from this
event that Nintendo held.
I did not.
Uh, there.
It showed so much promise.
Uh, the, the control system is incredibly innovative.
Uh, simplistic.
Um, a lot of gaining on the go.
Uh, and it's, it, they simplify it to the point to where it feels like the Wii all over again.
But that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Okay.
Um, they've, they've enhanced a lot of things that makes it even smarter and more sensitive than the Wii U remote
Plus ever was.
It's just, there's, there's a lot of things to get excited about.
But they need to be really careful on how they market this thing.
They need to bombard their proper target audience with a good ad campaign rather than keep it something
So mysterious.
I just can't believe we haven't heard anything yet.
We've, we've heard something.
But I haven't like seen a commercial.
You haven't heard anything.
Oh, yeah.
That's the problem.
That's the problem.
The people that would be interested in buying this thing.
If they're not digging through sites like IGN, which we discussed earlier.
Uh, or if you're not digging through stuff on YouTube, or if you don't have it
Yes, and they give you these little, you know, push notifications all the time that
Hey, this conference is up.
If you're interested, you might want to watch this.
They're not doing enough to put it in front of people.
And you know, I'm going to tell you another website that I used to get a lot of great
Tech information from that really has kind of, they've lost me.
But I used to, I mean, I'm telling you, this is one.
I used to go to every day, just on my own.
Just to read Tech News and gadget.
Uh-huh.
Like, I can't, like, I can't even navigate that site anymore.
And that would probably be a good place to go.
They have a lot of information.
I guarantee you, they probably, they were probably a partner in streaming.
This conference when they held it.
Uh, number nine.
I'm a nine.
Release some big third party games more frequently.
You know what I'll agree with that?
Uh, because, you know, we know that Nintendo has a great in-house software developer.
They've got incredible franchises all their own.
But we, you did not have enough strong third party supports.
We just kind of withered on the vine.
Uh, and when it, when they did release stuff, it was very, very sparse.
You, you hardly ever heard about the releases when they came.
They just kind of came and went.
And they didn't sell well because the majority of the developers were focusing so much
They were attention on the Xbox One and the, uh, PS4.
So the, the Wii U really suffered from that.
But on, on the other side of that, core number eight.
Update your big first party franchises sooner.
Like, they were making this mistake of letting us know that a new title was coming.
In the Mario series or the Zelda series or, or, but we never saw it until,
Okay.
Late and late, late, late until the life cycle of the system.
Like Mario Kart 8 got really so late in the system that a lot of people
They just kind of given up on it.
Uh, we never really kind of hit with a whimper, too, if I remember.
And it is easily-
And I, because the people that, again, I was going to follow up with.
And the people I know that played it.
So it was just amazing.
It's the best Mario Kart game I've ever played.
But nobody knows that.
Now, they're also going to turn right around and do it.
Oh, Mario Kart 8 deluxe for the switch.
They're not actually giving in its own unique Mario Kart.
They're just kind of going to port it over, which I don't know if that's a good thing.
They're doing quite a bit of that though, if I've read correctly.
Well, no, no.
I mean, granted, you're going to get Zelda Breath of the Wild.
Day and date the game.
The, the, the, the day the system launches.
Okay.
They're also doing one for the Wii U.
Kind of like what they did with the game cube.
Where they did the Twilight Princess on the Wii, right whenever the Wii debuted.
And right as the game cube was gick taking its final bow.
Okay.
Twilight Princess was the last great game on that system.
Touchdown Kansas City.
Number seven, and this is a, this is a pretty big one.
Fixed the online component for this system.
But hasn't this always been the vainness of existence for Nintendo?
It's always been based around friend codes, keeping it kid friendly.
You know, there's, I get that.
But you also have to find your way into.
Contemporary culture, too.
Well, Nintendo needs to understand or they need to.
They need to clearly define what this system is and who they're making it for.
And wasn't the Wii U, the first system that did anything better than 720p.
Yes.
Yeah.
That was our first venture.
And if you don't count the, you know, the handhelds.
If you don't count right.
Yeah.
And I'm talking about the stuff I can hook up to my team.
Exactly.
Um, the fact that it's, it is, it is like pulling teeth to get any kind of matchmaking
done on any kind of multiplayer game.
And those games are few and far between on the Wii U.
So they seem to have done, they've made great strides to make this thing.
Uh, a, a gaming competitive system where like you can bring a bunch of them together
and compete locally.
Or take it online.
It remains to be seen how easy it's going to be to take it online.
And you still can't talk.
There's no voice chat on Wii U.
There never was.
Didn't they try it with, they try it with the Wii.
We can speak with the animal crossing thing.
No.
It was that diving that blue, that, that, that, that scuba diving game is what it came package.
But I thought they used it with Animal Crossing.
They did.
And they tried it with Jeopardy.
But we remember we played Jeopardy on the Wii here and just didn't,
Yeah, just didn't work real.
Um,
Jeopardy.
Number six.
Consolidate all of your classics, all of your classic games in one place.
If you, if you've bought it on the Wii U.
You're almost making it forward in comparison.
Yes.
If you bought it on the 3DS, have them carry over for the love of God.
Stop making people pay two, three, four, five bucks at a time.
Every time they want to download Zelda, the original Zelda or Super Mario Brothers.
Again, they've already paid for this thing five times now.
Do we honestly have to download it again for another system?
So you can keep gouging them over and over again.
But are you playing that version or are you playing an upgraded version?
Don't match.
No, you're playing it.
You're playing the Wii version on the Wii U.
No, I'm saying like you're playing the old 1985 Super Mario Brothers through the virtual console.
But if you want to play it on the Wii U.
Like, okay, granted, you're paying for an upgrade so you can play it on that little handheld screen.
But still the same darn game.
It gets a little frustrating when they keep like,
I see that from both sides though, because you have to have somebody that will make it so that you can play it on that system.
So you have to make that money back somehow.
For a couple of bucks, I can kind of roll with that.
If you're charging me more than five or six dollars, then we have a problem.
Well, I mean, and also bear in mind, these are games that when they came out in the 90s,
they were charging 40, 50 bucks for it.
So it's not like they lost money on it ever.
But like to me, like the most egregious example of this is you have to have a new 3DS XL or a new 3DS to play Super Nintendo games on the 3DS.
You have to have the upgraded version.
Are you telling me that I can't run Legend of Zelda a link to the past from Super Nintendo on the 3DS that I have right now.
And it requires a hardware upgrade.
Are you joking me?
You can run this on a chip the size of your fingernail.
But I need a bigger, better version of the 3DS and order to even play it.
Really?
Yes.
Give me a break.
Nintendo's notorious for this kind of thing.
That needs to stop.
Okay.
Fair enough.
Number five.
A better menu UI.
I'm getting a little...
I was never a fan of the way that we did it.
Exactly.
The way you was the exact same way.
And so was the 3DS.
They need to streamline this to where it's not so...
Again, they go for this whimsical, childish interface.
It always comes off like, when any time you're dealing with Nintendo product, yes, the games are great.
Yes, the hardware is easy to use, but it doesn't always have to look like a kids toy.
And it doesn't always have to appeal to a 5 year old and below audience.
So, to support that argument, look at how many kids can navigate an Xbox One menu or a PS4.
Exactly.
Yeah.
It doesn't take rocket science.
No.
And it doesn't have to look like it's made out of candy and frosted glass.
Just make it look like a gaming system.
Right.
It doesn't have to look like something that's tailor made for play school.
Number four.
Do a little bit better job of integrating social media
into their entire platform.
They've tried it with their...
The whole meverse concept that they've got on the Wii U and on the 3DS.
They need to continue that.
You need to be able to invite friends into your game through Facebook or Twitter or something.
And the next gen consoles have been doing that for a while now.
Nintendo needs to follow suit if they want to keep up and compete.
Number three, something that got announced during this conference.
Two things that got announced during this conference that raised a lot of eyebrows
is number one, the price point.
Number two, 99, number two, the battery life.
They kind of hinted that it was going to be below 200 bucks for this thing.
And then to be told that it's going to be 300, that's kind of a kick in the teeth.
And the fact that this thing relies so heavily on being a portable system,
they say depending on the game, your battery could last as little as three hours.
Wow.
So if there's any kind of a battery extension, you can buy for it?
They haven't said.
No, they're probably will be a peripheral that they can charge you extra four.
I'm sure.
Fair.
But you know, it's self on them.
Yeah.
But you know, if your bank well, we're assuming we're assuming that it's not going to be proprietary hardware
at the same time.
It could be something as simple as plugging in a USB cable and charging it on the go.
Something tells me it's not going to be that simple.
Knowing Nintendo.
Yeah.
They don't do anything simply.
Number two, this is another thing that's got people kind of concerned.
Bring a strong launch line up.
You've got to bring it.
And you've got to bring it more than a handful of titles.
They launch the will you if I remember correctly.
Zelda is the only one that are immediately recognizable by everybody.
And now you've got your niche gamers that have their own game that like monster hunter,
which I've never played some JRPG stuff that I'm not familiar with.
Then I'm sure has a huge following that probably not monster trucks the game.
No.
Okay.
The thing that troubled me was they have what is basically the follow-up to this generation's
Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario Sunshine or Super Mario World in Super Mario Odyssey.
And it looks like a lot of it is being is being placed where Mario is in our world.
The real world.
Okay.
Where he's jumping from all these different worlds through different portals of time.
And he's got like a ship like a flying pirate ship looking thing that he gets around on.
But everybody's heart sank when they saw that it said holiday 2017.
So you're taking your franchise your your your your tip bulk character.
And you're pushing him toward the end of this year.
You're launching in March, but you're not going to give us a Mario game until.
Possibly October and November.
That's never a good sign.
This that's something that they should have had ready to go by launch because.
Super Mario 64 was such a huge boost for that system when ever the Nintendo 64 came out.
That not having a Mario game for this generation kind of hurts.
And we never really got one for the for the Wii U.
So there's that.
But first and foremost.
The most important thing of all because Nintendo never seems to learn this lesson.
Supply needs to meet demand.
Let's get it.
That's the most recent example.
Rattle them off.
They've been like that.
Remember the Wii exactly remember the hunt for the Wii.
The only reason I got a Wii U on launch takes us.
I reserved it.
Yeah.
Well, I saw a sign in the window at a local video game store by where I work.
And they had on their fire.
This is how many we're getting in.
First come first serve for for the switch for this way.
I think they're getting like 32 of them.
Yeah.
Nintendo is notorious for this kind of thing.
They never either never have enough systems, peripherals or games to satisfy demand.
They've done this time and time again.
And it's frustrating.
Absolutely.
Much like you were mentioning earlier about if you can't get into a certain website because of pop-up edge.
You'll just give up and go elsewhere.
The same thing can happen with gamers.
They're very, very cool.
But also think about how excited we were about the NES classic five months ago.
And right now, I could honestly care less.
Yeah.
Because that window is closed.
Yeah.
So that dog has that ship has sailed.
Yeah, dog don't hunt.
And they are, they are painfully close to having the exact same thing happen again with the switch.
If they do this, if they do this two times in a row.
It's been way too soon since the Nintendo classic debacle that if they make that mistake again,
it's going to hurt them and it's going to hurt them bad.
But they're doing so well overseas though.
And that's why they keep making these mistakes because they do this stuff overseas.
And it sells like hotcakes.
And they'll just keep doing it because they're making their money.
Well, and that's the problem.
But it's got to be a global problem.
It is a global problem.
It's not just here.
It's not just here.
But the one thing that is kept them consistently afloat is their handheld.
It's the 3DS.
Now granted, this is a very unique hybrid of both a home console and a 3DS because you can take it on the go with you.
And this could very well because the 3DS was a failure when it first launched.
And then all of a sudden it's just started picking up steam and there was no stopping it.
It's become a runaway freight train.
They can do that with this thing if they do it right.
But this is hoping I'm looking forward to the signs are already there that it seems like they're more than willing to make the same mistakes again.
And I just hope they don't because I've got really high hopes for this thing.
It looks remarkable.
Let me just say before we close this out.
These storms are still coming through.
You're more than welcome to stay here as long as you need to wait it out.
Yeah.
I mean, look at the radar right now.
I mean, this is coming up.
This is Cleaver and Alvarado.
Yeah.
And that's how you're with you for a little bit.
So you're more than welcome to.
Thank you.
So for those of you that are out and about, please be safe.
And before we close this thing out, we are six days away.
I was hoping you were from a very, very important day.
This coming Saturday.
If you're here in the DFW area, we'll be at the brick tavern in Saxie for a fundraiser for my nephew.
We talked a little bit about it last week.
I also want to thank everybody.
I am overwhelmed at the number of people that were sending me options for his controller for his Xbox One.
They were able to find something for him in the meantime to the website that was sent to me last week.
I sent that to Ricky.
He was very, very appreciative.
They're still going to be working on some options for Dalton.
This fundraiser on Saturday.
It's going to be a long one.
It's a 12 hour deal.
10 a.m.
10 p.m.
So there's no reason that you can't come out and hang out for a little while.
Because we're giving you a huge window to do it.
This is true.
I'm told multiple bands are getting involved.
This thing is growing like a weed.
I'm hearing rumors.
There might be a Jurassic Park cheaper to out there.
Nothing substantiated yet, but there might be rumors.
There's a poker run involved.
If you're someone who rides a motorcycle, I've already been asked if I don't ride bikes.
There's going to be other stuff.
Absolutely.
There's going to be entertainment.
I will be, I've been asked to MC the entire thing.
So I will be, I will be your, your humble host for the event.
If you've got plenty of.
Oh, brother out of your.
There will be plenty of energy drinks.
Yeah.
Fluent.
I'd send some invitations out on Facebook today.
If you did not get an invitation, I did post the event on my page.
And we'll be doing so every day for the rest of this week.
We between people who have RSVP and people who are interested.
We're already in triple digits.
I'm very excited about this.
We're trying to raise about 10 grand.
There's a go-fund me page out there.
I'll be reposting that as well.
We really want to make sure Dalton gets this bed.
And we want to make sure that he's taking care of these people.
This family does so much for other people.
It's time for us to give back to them.
So join us this Saturday.
10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
We're going to be at the, at the, the brick tavern in Saxe.
We'll be there in force.
It's going to be a great time.
There's going to be some great music.
Some great people to fellowship with.
I'm very excited to see this place.
I've heard great things about the facility as well.
Because I was, I've been inside that building.
When it was at a, in a previous incarnation.
So it's, it's a nice sense.
I cannot think my brother can Harrison enough.
He has really kind of spearhead spearheaded this thing.
And if you know anything about my brother,
a heart as big as the state we live in.
And he came running into this thing.
I just hope that we can schedule a meeting sometime this week.
That's not like three hours before that happens.
So I can see him because I want to get some logistics.
So that we're ready.
