It is 701 on the east coast.
It is 401 on the west coast.
It is the 11th of December in the year of our Lord 2016.
Season 7, Episode 22, 371 times this voice has welcomed you to the Clubhouse podcast.
We're so happy that you're here, whether you're live on you stream, whether you're listening
on our archive, or whether you are subscribing on iTunes or your favorite podcast app.
You need to start saying that that way, because not everybody has iTunes.
You bring it up ahead of us just a little bit if you would, sir.
Welcome, it's 4th.
There we go, that's a little better.
My name is Rob, and this is the last regular show of the year.
Because next week, we'll be WWE, roadblock, end of the line, and you know, I don't know
about y'all, but Christmas Day and New Year's Day, I'm going to be a little preoccupied.
But I'm not alone, we're kicking it old school tonight, because joining me across the desk
is a man who is sitting at a place that he's not used to sitting.
And that doesn't mean he's on the hot seat.
He is chat, welcome sir, boy, I'm glad to be back here.
For those of you that are thinking Rob, it sounds a little different, it's because we're
finally back in the studio.
After two months, two months, two the day would have been tomorrow.
Since the great flood happened at the studio, the flooring got done on Friday.
So the lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin and I have been spending a lot of time in the last,
we'll call it 60 hours, getting everything back to abnormal.
So the house is pretty much put back together now.
I want to thank everybody for their support and their patience.
It's so nice to get to be on the show, be barefoot, and not have dust all over the bottom
of my feet.
And all over everything, and for those of you that might stop by the lovely, uh, Casa de la Bama,
I'm sorry, it's Stately Irvin Manor.
It's Stately Irvin Manor, uh, be sure that you tip the armed guard that's sitting by the
toilet in the guest bathroom to make sure that it doesn't explode again, because he doesn't
make a lot of money, and you know, it's a really crappy job.
And I want to thank, yeah, it's just you there.
I want to thank the people out of Mika for being so awesome, our homeowners insurance,
who also those are auto insurance, they've been great.
I do want to say the tile in the guest bathroom, bigger fan of the, then the tile that was
there before.
Oh, it looks like the kitchen kind of, a little bit, but I liked it.
I like that.
Did you notice that?
I'm a fan.
We always start every show with corrections.
I didn't hear anything from last week.
We're going to talk about last week here in just a minute unless you notice anything I
didn't.
No.
So now that we're back in the studio, it does mean things are going to get, we're going
to get the wheels back on everything, which also means iTunes exclusive reviews are coming
back.
I know it's been a while since we've done one of those, but we're going to get those back
on track this week as well.
So also coming, we're going to, coming later this week, we will be doing our special edition
where we will be picking the college bowl games, so get ready for that.
And then week after next, we will be doing our end of your wrap up as a, as a non-sunday
show, doing our best and worst of the year.
Because you know, we're going to have a lot of things to talk about this year.
We've got a lot of things to talk about tonight.
We haven't seen this year, but we have a 7-page run sheet.
So let's just die.
God.
Right in.
NASCAR, of course, taking time off, we do, again, I want to take congratulations to six
times six times six times six times six times six times seven.
I guess it is seven times seven times seven times seven times seven times seven times seven
time, spring cup champion Jimmy Johnson for winning, and we'll talk about them again in February
when it's time for the Daytona 500, because as we know, NASCAR is the only sport
where they start with their big events and go backwards.
So big news for fans of Marvel television, Luke Cage has been renewed for season two, and
I've yet to watch season one.
So I'm still stuck in the middle of Jessica Jones, and I still got to do all of season
to a dare devil.
Oh God.
But my vacation's coming up.
I'm going to have a lot of time because everything's in hiatus now.
So I don't start whittling down now.
For fans of the leftovers, season three and 2017 will be its final season.
That's an HBO show where something happens in a bunch of people disappear and the people
that are still around are wondering why they're still around because they think it's the
rapture.
So this is it's left behind without the religion, I think it was what it is.
Okay.
Bad news for fans of John Oliver temporarily.
He's not back until February the 12th.
They think in a serious vacation.
Well, I don't know if it's taking a serious vacation.
He's probably got a ton of stand up dates.
I'm sure.
I'm sure.
I know that's what he was doing that whole time.
He was on break the last time.
I did tell you I have this Funko pop now, right?
Yes.
Yeah, I think didn't you take a picture?
I did.
It is on my Instagram.
We do want to send this quick shout out.
We normally would have had Don here tonight, but he is a little under the weather.
So Don get better.
Of course we have.
I didn't hit start on the recording.
Now we're there.
We're only six minutes behind.
Okay.
People can figure it out.
Subscribe on iTunes.
You get the whole thing.
It's the first week back in the studio.
I'm still getting accustomed to everything's kind of reversed from the way we used
to do it.
So I'm trying to get everything back under the show.
We're on the air now, though.
Hello, America.
In the world.
A little big shots that show, I believe, isn't that the show with Steve Harvey with all
the kids?
I think it's called.
That end shades of blue will not return until March the 5th.
So fans of those shows be prepared for that.
Did read today for a friend of the show, Steven Zimmerman, attack on Titan season 2 will
premiere an April.
I did see that.
So they've got that going for them.
The NBC show Powerless, which is about an insurance company that deals with the fallout
of superhero battles.
There's two different projects out there.
Yeah.
NBC's got one NBC's got one NBC's called Powerless.
It is going to premiere February the 2nd.
And the spin off of the blacklist called the blacklist redemption was going to premiere
February the 23rd.
And you've got another Chicago show coming, sir.
Chicago justice.
March the 5th.
For that one.
We got introduced to Carl Wethers character on that show and they're moving out of Chicago
fire.
They're moving John Cetus character over to that show, too.
John Cetus, as EDA kind of Hispanic guy, I believe he's on Chicago P.D.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They're moving his character over to that.
Wow.
They announced that at the Macy's parade.
He was hanging out with with Roker in the crowd.
That's the crowd, which means they just sat there for 30 seconds in the lap.
If that's who I think it is, he just had a major storyline develop on Chicago fire.
So you got that going for you because you don't have enough shows either.
So remember this year, Gonzaga had a reality show on HBO called March to Madness.
That was Gonzaga?
I didn't know that was Gonzaga.
They've announced who's going to be doing it this year.
We're flipping the script.
And we're going to the women's side of basketball with UConn, which, you know, fascinating.
They haven't lost the game since like the Civil War.
So I'm, I want to say they're like a 95 game win streak or something crazy like that.
Everybody thought maybe Notre Dame was going to be the one to break it this past week.
So fast, my friend.
The good wife is getting a spin off.
If your fans of that show, it's going to be called the good fight.
But be careful because it's going to be on CBS all access.
Ah, I'm sure you're going to have to pay for it.
And I'll already some cysts of that.
Some instability with Star Trek discovery.
Tim was instability from the get.
Well, there's more.
One of the big producers has left.
CBS is having a really hard time keeping that ship afloat.
Let's say I can serve me reading a post from friend of the show Devon Pike today.
The rumors are it's going to be like CSI space.
Oh, no, I hope not, but we'll see because that show ended so well.
Any of them.
Let's see where are we ABC has ordered a pilot for a movie or for a television show called
Libby and Malcolm.
Have you heard about this?
I don't think so.
Could I interest you in co-stars Courtney B. Vance and Felicity Huffman?
Yes.
They will play a blended family who are also polar opposite political pundits.
Oh, God.
Oh, and this climate?
Yikes.
I'm interested.
I mean, if for no other reason the strength of the cast, who's behind it, who's the
mind?
I believe Vance is producing because if you got good riders on that show, it'll have
legs under it.
If it's got somebody like along the lines of sork and involved, you know, I don't think
I think of his ilk.
Just somebody of his ilk.
I'm going to say something.
You know, I'm a big Courtney B. Vance fan.
Yes.
So we're going to talk about him here in just a minute as well.
Should you see Alec Baldwin this week?
No.
Because you know, our president, Alec, has been given him some grief on Twitter.
Yes.
He said, you know what?
I'll stop playing you on SNL if you release your tattoo.
Okay.
Yeah.
I did see that.
The one Shayna hosted last night.
I have not watched it yet.
I'm too weeks behind now because I haven't watched the, uh, the, the Emma Stone, either.
This, this week is the fall finale, uh, Casey Affleck and chance, the rapper, fall finale
in December.
Something about that just doesn't sound quite.
Yeah.
That's the first season.
I have really a call it.
Were you a fan of the duck tails back in the day?
I know where you're going with this because I showed it to show it to my wife who was
a huge fan of duck.
I wasn't a huge fan of the duck tails.
It was everywhere.
Don't get me wrong.
Well, that was a generation behind this.
That's fair.
That's fair.
We missed that boat.
Coming back summer of next year on Disney XD because Disney XD doesn't have enough programming.
Now, what we need is what tail spin and chip and Dale's risk is dangerous.
I, I would watch the rescue rangers every once and again, but again, I think that was
right around the same time.
And I think we really missed that.
Bless us in the chat room, always with us.
How you doing, brother?
Good to see you, brother.
Uh, let's see what else is going on.
The Emmy Rossum, apparently is holding up season eight of Shaymos.
There's a pay equity.
Really?
Yeah.
Read that today.
That's a little unstable.
Show time, pay the woman.
That's one of your main stays right now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
A lot of people watching that show.
And it's got the William H. Macy.
You can't really, you don't want to make the William H. Macy now.
Have you ever watched that show?
I have not.
How good is it?
It gets real uncomfortable.
Oh, I've heard that.
It's funny as I'll get out, but God, he is a, he plays a worthless piece of junk
on edge.
See the, the Ricky Jervais of Showtime.
I don't know.
I don't know how I would describe him, but he's, he's got very little redeeming quality
on that show.
Television shows on DVD and blue ray this week where you get DVD and blue rays.
The complete series of the Twilight Zone.
Classic or, or class 80s, classic.
Hardly in the Davidson's, this was a limited series that A&E did about the origin
of Harley Davidson.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
My wife watched it.
I never got her opinion on it.
She sees intent of duck dynasty and boy, they're in a little bit of hot water right
now.
Please go.
Their producers are getting sued by some people who are saying copyright infringement
on certain things and maybe even gimmick infringement.
If you're a fan of the Legend of Korra, the complete series will be available.
I just got a text right.
I have to add to the run sheet here in just a moment.
Yeah, I got some of you.
You're, you're giving me that quizzical look.
The lovely wife was trying to listen before you hit record.
Oh, I see.
That you guys, you guys are on, right?
We are now.
We are now.
Oh, I can't, I can't type today.
I have difficulties with the run sheet here.
Also, fear the walking dead season two, which apparently nobody missed.
Season seven of Newheart, season four of Father Brown, season one of American Gothic, and
season five of dance moms available for you this week.
Why are they releasing Newheart by season one that just put the whole darn thing out?
I think this is a re-release because I thought they already had.
I'm about to say it.
That seems to me like it would be something that has been on the shelves for a while.
Unless, well, on DVD for a while, maybe not blue rate does say DVD or blue rate
or both.
Wow.
Interesting news we're going to be talking about in wrestling talk.
Geez.
Just said to me by Stephen.
All right.

So she is very happy.
Would it die centers?
I don't know.
But she texted me earlier that she got a new vacuum cleaner.
And Jules Wannick is on Pinterest as well.
She is probably at the house on the ceiling.
And listening in.
I want to send a quick shout out to a friend of the show Nick who was in town from the UK this
weekend.
And he was going to try to have him on the show tonight.
But he had some things come up.
He actually flew from the UK to go.
He helped out with the polyphonic spree show last night at the majestic.
He helped out with it.
Yeah.
He told me he was going to be there at 9 a.m. for loadout.
I am like royally.
Apparently he helped to a lot of their promo stuff over in Europe.
Awesome.
I want to thank Nick for hanging out with me Thursday night.
We went to had dinner and went and saw Mike Berbiglia at the WinSpere Opera House.
You can read my review of that show which is currently up on our website as well.
So really had a good time with him.
And then I said he got to go to the sixth floor.
He had to do a bunch of cool stuff.
And he headed back to the UK on Tuesday.
So Nick it was great to see you brother.
And please be safe getting back.
Let us continue on and do a little POI.
POI since for person of interest.
It is a segment that we do on this show.
Where we take a person or an entity.
And we debate their greatness or lack of their up.
Chad, you got the last one of the year.
Lucky me.
Well, I noticed last night at least according to your Instagram.
See that you went to go see a new movie last night.
I did.
I did a current release.
I actually paid to go see a movie.
That is that is true, which is our rarity because we are very fortunate.
They are very, very fortunate and we're so happy with the vendors that take care of us.
But you went and saw office Christmas party.
I did.
It's an hour 45, which probably about 15 minutes longer than it should be.
But the enjoyable.
Okay.
Enjoyable film.
I'm going to have a written review up probably tomorrow.
I think it's high into a previous film or anything.
I wouldn't like.
Not at all.
Really, really.
I can't say I really really enjoyed it.
It was fun.
I'm not saying that I would go out of my way to see it again.
But if it was on cable and I had nothing going on, I might.
It doesn't approach the night before territory or anything like that.
No, the night before was better.
Okay.
Well, in the same vein as that, I've been noticing on my Facebook feed a lot.
The last couple of weeks.
We just said I'm glad you're doing this because I got a lot to say.
Okay.
Good.
Because we did not collaborate on this at all.
So there's a story that ties into this.
Excellent.
Okay.
That people have been having their office Christmas parties for the last couple of weeks already.
Well, you gotta remember.
Christmas creeps up on it's quick this year.
Yeah.
But I mean, because it was just two weeks ago was Thanksgiving.
Christmas is two weeks from today.
Yeah.
Like, my daughter's birthday was on Monday.
And I was seeing a friend of the show Julie weighed on Wednesday.
I was in my five anniversary of the HMS was that same day.
The same day.
The fact that people are, you know, before Megan's birthday on the fifth,
they were already having their office Christmas parties.
I'm like, why so soon?
I mean, and another thing, when you did, when you talk office Christmas party,
what would you consider the ideal setting for the not in the office?
Thank you.
Okay.
That was, that was something that's been kind of, that I've been puzzling over.
It does, does it seem right that they kind of guilt people into,
like, because I know a lot of people will say that they have them so early,
because they don't want people that are going to take Christmas breaks to miss the Christmas break.
Which makes sense?
Yeah.
But it's almost like they're requiring them to show up.
Because I really want to hold them at the office.
But in case it's different, you know, I'm just, I don't really think that there should be any kind of,
you know, go there if you show up if you want to show them.
Hmm.
See, ours was actually during work hours.
So it was, you can't, you went because you could take an extended lunch.
But I mean, I always attend our department deals anyway.
Like the last office Christmas party that I went to was held, you know,
off the clock after hours at a nice restaurant, the CEO picked up the tab.
There wasn't any kind of gift exchange because it was a fledgling company at the time.
Right.
But God knows I know that, and I mean, it was an open bar ticket for us, too.
So that's where it gets unstable.
Yeah.
But it was a small company.
There's only like maybe a couple of dozen people.
But so you get those people that wind up struggling and things get weird.
Fortunately, that didn't happen.
It was a really good night.
But I mean, to me, that's kind of the ideal setting.
Maybe not the open bar part of it.
But yeah, that's the ideal set of chance to be outside of work.
I was talking to somebody today, as a matter of fact, that went, or it was in the last couple.
No, it was, it was last night I was talking to a friend of mine.
And he was saying that he got to go to his first office Christmas party with his job.
Mm-hmm.
And it was just nice.
They were at a local establishment where they have like a private room.
Very shenanigans like.
Uh-huh.
Like we have a place for shenanigans over in the side of town.
Very vain event.
And I didn't have a chance to really get to know people right well at work.
But now he has a chance to get to know people.
And he actually really talked to some people that he usually normally gets to talk to and things like that.
Um, I would like to appeal first of all to the HR departments.
Um, quit with the changing of the names.
Huh?
ours was called the end of year celebration.
Oh, we couldn't even call ours a holiday party.
Give me a break.
And then we will, they said we couldn't do an ugly sweater contest.
And you'd better believe I wore my ugly sweater on Friday.
I saw it.
And if you saw it on Instagram, by the way, at yes that robber.
And the t-shirts coming this Friday.
You, you know the t-shirt.
Yes.
You've seen the t-shirt.
Yeah.
And not the t-shirt is not being unveiled until Friday.
Uh, so be prepared for that.
I was genius.
But.
What?
It's a, I, I, I have no issue with holiday celebration.
Because it's the holiday season.
Everybody celebrates some kind of holiday between the end of November and the end of the year.
No matter what it is, you celebrate some form of a holiday.
So it's a holiday party.
It kind of makes you ask the question that they,
Did they question the title of that film for that exact same reason?
It plays a role.
Oh, it does.
It's a very beginning.
Okay.
And it, it's from HR, which when you're, you're head of HR is played by Kate McKinnon.
Just go with that.
Uh, which always a great time.
Like, my company really knows how, or my department specifically knows how to throw a great party.
They really do.
Mm-hmm.
Had some great food courtesy of the great break bakers ribs.
You know, there was a dessert contest.
Which the person at one of the dessert contest deserved when the dessert contest.
It was a layered dessert like the top piece was like a chocolate chip cookie.
And then from underneath it, it was just spores all the way down.
Okay.
It was amazing.
So it wasn't lady fingers and beast too.
No.
No.
Always a good time.
And let me preface this story by saying, these kind of thing doesn't really matter to me.
It just runs reference for those people.
The funny, the, the humor of it is why I'm telling the story.
Okay.
You know me.
I'd like to thank you.
I'd like to thank you.
I'd like to thank you.
I'd like to thank you.
I'd like to thank you.
I'd like to thank you.
I'd like to thank you.
I'd like to thank you.
You really need to put that in a corner.
You really need to put that in a corner.
Sometimes it runs in the air.
But every, I've been with the company almost five years.
Never really won anything ever.
I've gotten awards here and there, but I've never really won anything.
Just no major awards.
Right.
I haven't gotten a leg length.
So we had a, we had a raffle.
You know, the way it worked is if you won,
there was a table of different gift boxes and gift bags.
Okay.
And you picked something.
But the, the stipulation was you had to open in front of everybody.
Uh.
Not a big deal because it, it wasn't, like, gag gifts.
Like they were like nice little, little gifts.
Well, low and behold,
third drawing number, your boy wins.
So I go up there.
I'm like, you know what?
The last two people have picked gift boxes and they were nice,
but they weren't something.
I got a feeling that the gift bags have the better stuff in it.
I'm feeling good.
So I grab a gift bag.
And I open the gift bag.
And when I pull out of the gift bag,
are probably around nine, like,
little note pads or sticky pads, which is fine.
Okay.
But they're branded with my team name.
What?
I'm not kidding you.
Not the department's.
My team.
So of course,
Rockus laughter through the room.
About probably 50 to 60 people in the room.
I'm like, look, SLM branded gear.
I needed this.
So they're like, keep digging.
I'm like, okay, fine.
There's a nice little tote bag in there.
I'm like, you know what?
I'm moving desks this weekend.
I can put some of my stuff in here.
Great.
And what if our admins goes,
look at the pocket of the bag.
So I'm like, oh, great.
There's nothing in the pocket of the bag.
And there's this weird awkward.
Oh, no.
Oh, my god.
We forgot to put something in.
Oh, oh.
Or someone lift it again.
Rockus laughter through the room.
Which it was made up for later.
And I got a nice gift card for the greatness of Chick-fil-A.
But it was just the humor of like, Rob never wins anything.
And the one time Rob wins, he gets stuff from his own department.
Like, thanks.
But you know, if it's going to happen to somebody,
let it happen to me.
Because I can take it and stride.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But it was just the humor of it.
It was just, even my boss is just looking to really shake it.
It said these labs like do it only you.
But I'm like, it's okay.
You know, it's, it's,
and you didn't ask for any of this and it kind of happened to you.
But you know what?
It was all when good fun.
You know, I still wound up with a nice little gift card and a nice little tote bag.
So, you know, it's, it's, it's just,
It's sad that we've gotten to the point where there's a lot of companies
aren't doing the full blown parties anymore.
Well, again, I think it's, I think it's another situation of their,
they're concerned about stepping on somebody's feelings.
I mean,
But again, somebody's going to get a gift.
They don't like what I really can't stand.
One of the, one of my all-time least favorite tactics
when it comes to the wide elephant gift exchange
where you can steal a gift.
Oh, I don't like that.
I hate that.
I absolutely hate that.
Because that's when you are going to take somebody off.
Well, see, I think that if you're going to do it,
you're supposed to do it in the spirit of the original way of doing it.
Where the only gift that you can take is the person that stole before you.
And that gift can only be stolen like twice.
Yeah.
Like when you're still a son from the first person,
that gets kind of crappy.
Yeah.
To me, it just, it, it becomes mean spirited.
I like the secret Santa concept,
where only people that want to participate participate,
you know,
I just,
they're just so much bad vibes on the,
but it all depends on how your company does it.
Again, my company does a great job.
Even though we don't have a company wide party anymore,
my,
my department does a really, really good job of everybody getting together
and our,
our department's expands all the time.
Like we probably had doubled the number this year
that we had last year.
And that's just because of the expansion of the department.
But I mean, I had a great time Friday.
I understand why people are doing them earlier.
I think,
really,
this weekend should be the first weekend for the weekend.
The weekend after Thanksgiving,
it gets a little weird.
Yeah.
To me, that's the biggest issue.
I'm just like,
but I think to this,
this, this past weekend in this upcoming weekend
should really be your pocket for those things.
Yeah, just,
like, the first weekend December just makes no sense.
So to me, it's like,
okay, we're just doing this just to get it out of the way.
And very little thought gets put in a thing.
Might have a honey baked ham brought everybody else
bring sides in the known honey baked.
And then they'll tell people,
go out and buy a $5 gift that's usually made out of chocolate.
I'm just like,
oh,
I did get truffles, by the way,
in my gift bag.
Roche.
Yes.
Oh, nice.
The,
they were huge fan.
See salt milk chocolate.
Oh, even better.
Very excited.
I'm going to have one of those at a time.
I'm about to say,
you're going to cut your plethora.
I was going to say,
well, I always,
I always keep like dark chocolates in my desk.
And I can have one in the morning
and then I have another one in the afternoon.
Did you do the dark chocolate covered fruits or anything?
To keep your,
I'm anti-oxid in sub,
so you don't get six times.
Sometimes.
I actually haven't even really well this year.
Well,
I'm just saying just because I know how,
how,
you know,
I'm doing,
I'm doing okay.
I do like the,
but I also go to be conscious.
I can't do like the strawberries anymore.
Cause the seeds.
Oh, that's right.
But like raisins.
I'm a fan of.
I'm a fan of the raisin.
What about berries?
Like the blueberry.
It depends on the berry.
That's what I'm saying.
Like blueberries.
Do you do chocolate covered blueberries?
I have.
I've not really put too much thought into it.
But just,
just,
and I don't know how you feel about cranberries.
So,
keep your regular.
I do like,
I do like a good cran apple.
I guess.
I know they're bloated with sugar.
All right.
Let's move on.
Talk a little college football.
Got a lot going on.
Rust says he's got Christmas cards and CDs ready for us.
Cause you know,
Rust does CDs for us every year.
Always enjoyable.
You're,
you're lovely wife talked about companies booking venues for,
some do and some don't.
I'm kind of good either way.
Yeah.
You know.
All right.
Big news.
Go bulls.
Texas's loss is South Florida's game because South Florida has agreed
to go into a coaching contract with Charlie Strong.
Really?
Very excited.
Wow.
Very easy.
He's returning to the state that started him.
Cause he started out as an assistant at Florida.
I had no idea.
Yes, sir.
Before he went to Louisville,
who was going to tie to our next story.
So,
very excited about Charlie Strong.
We welcome you, sir.
Cause you know,
our coach went to Oregon.
Right.
Yeah.
Like you were there in five minutes.
And USF and Oregon are too completely different deals.
Brother.
So, you better be ready.
Congratulations to Lamar Jackson.
First, Louisville player in history to win the Highsman trophy last night.
Such an odd field this year.
Still trying to figure out how Oklahoma wound up with two finalists.
They're quarterback in one of their receivers.
That doesn't.
How often has that happened?
For the same school?
Yeah.
More than you think, but not often enough.
To really make a thing happen.
I kind of makes it look like the fixes in.
I mean, no, it's not.
Later this week,
we will be doing our bullpicks because the bulls start this Saturday.
Geez.
41 bulls this year, sir.
So get ready.
It'll be you.
Myself, Don Andrew said he's going to participate this year.
I'm sure Charlotte will.
I just haven't had a chance to talk to her about it.
Um.
I remember bull watching used to be able to handle it about a weekend.
How it takes.
And there's you're still you're still doing the semi finals on New Year's Eve.
What are you thinking?
That makes no sense to me.
But we do not have the the international bull this year.
That we have in between the semi finals on the final.
The internet.
Are you kidding me?
Remember we had that a couple years ago.
Because Arkansas state played in it.
Oh, really?
Yeah, this we do have the second annual Bahamas bull this year.
See, this is always my favorite part of the bullpicks is reading you guys the names of the bulls.
Because because they'll have to time you look at me like seriously.
You're lying.
You're lying.
No, I mean, you look at us right here on the spreadsheet.
So we're looking for that later this week.
Uh, NFL news rumors of Thursday night football getting cut back year after next.
I kind of think that's a good thing.
The the league is denying it.
Uh, where what I've read and what I've heard the reason they started it was when they launched
NFL network, they were trying to get as much coverage as possible.
Which makes sense.
Yeah.
But, uh, woody page, I think had a really, really good op-ed on this when he was on around the
Horn a couple of weeks ago.
Do your opening night.
Do.
Maybe, maybe even one a month.
Opening night.
Do one in October.
Do your Thanksgiving day.
Do one in December.
Make it a special event.
Although this past Thursday night.
Probably the best Thursday night game of the year because there was a lot on the
Wine with Casey and Oakland.
Right.
But I'm just not sure about how I feel about the season starting on a Thursday when
I just put put in a felt is just a Sunday institution.
It just, that's what it's immediately.
So super.
Yeah.
Sunday.
But I like this special event.
Game.
You know what I mean?
A special event game.
Yes.
Don't let it be this season.
I still think you're, you're open.
You're open.
I'm okay with on Thursday night.
But it should be a rematch of your Super Bowl teams.
I've always said that.
Yeah.
Didn't do your Sunday's late.
I don't know about the double header Monday night to open the season.
No, that's a whip.
That's a whip.
If you're the East Coast, you're like, yeah, go pound sand.
Yeah.
I got to go to work in the morning.
I'll be DVRing this sucker.
If you're going to do that, do as a double header on Saturday.
I mean, you're going to hack off a bunch of college football fans.
But so tonight, big game for your boys.
Your opposition down the player because Jason Pierre Paul is at least out the rest of
the regular season with a core muscle injury he had surgery on this week.
So last year he loses a finger.
But lightning fireworks.
And that's that's South Florida Bullseye.
I want you to know that.
That man is a South Florida Bull.
He seems to attract.
Okay.
Russ doesn't need you to send him your address.
Okay.
We'll do.
But.
And.
I just want to send it all to you.
Yeah.
You could send it to me if you want Russ when you do it that way.
Because it's not like I don't know where he is.
I can't find him.
That way, we both get it at the same time.
A little bit of the same time.
So tonight Dallas at the Giants.
Dallas probably I believe it.
I believe in bright one.
Maybe this first team in NFL history to now have back to back Sunday night games.
Because next week got flexed as you will be hosting my Tampa Bay Bucket ears.
Yeah.
That kind of threw me.
I got up this.
This.
Late this morning.
And I was like.
Okay.
Didn't gain time.
No.
Oh wait.
No.
It's not.
I'm just going to have it during the show.
And tomorrow night probably the one of the biggest Monday night games in recent
memory.
Baltimore at New England.
So let's talk about today.
Kansas City 21 over 31 13 over Oakland Thursday night.
This was a big deal for supremacy.
Oakland on a roll.
Kansas City getting themselves right for the playoffs.
Pittsburgh over Buffalo today 27 to 20.
Thank you Pittsburgh because I'm always up for a Buffalo loss.
Cincinnati over Cleveland.
As RG three gets his first rushing touchdown in 413 days.
That's a real stator.
Detroit over Chicago 20 to 17.
Tennessee over Denver also by three Houston over indie and what could only be described
as a game of folly.
With indie we indie was giving six and a half.
So good luck if you took that with the points.
Arizona loses to my dolphins on a last minute.
I'm going to tell you something at the end of this game.
If we had gone into overtime, I would have not have been shocked because
I'm starting to rain in the fourth quarter.
My Amy's trying to get in position.
Almost forget to call the time out.
They call the time out with one second left on the clock.
To kick the field goal to win it.
So now my dolphins have now won.
Seven of their last eight.
I know whether it's going to play pretty heavy factor tonight.
It's cowboy game because I know it's really cold and it's really.
And a game you would wish would end in a zero zero tie.
Washington beats Philly today by five.
Pick it as much.
Carolina over San Diego 28 to 16 San Diego kind of came on strong
Larry at the end.
Not so much.
Minnesota beats Jacksonville 25 to 16.
That game was weird too.
The jets.
Is this final?
It is final in O.T.
The jets come from behind to beat San Francisco 23 to 17.
And more Colin Cabernick failure.
Kind of remember when I really really liked him.
Oh, let's see.
That little fair ended really fast.
Green Bay.
Wombs on Seattle.
Green Bay just hit the ground running 38 to 10.
Is it over?
It is final.
And my buck and ears beat New Orleans 16 to 11.
New Orleans looks terrible today.
Can't but did enough to win.
The defense looks great.
But the offense has got to tighten down before next Sunday night.
Because it's about to get real.
Because that game gets underway here in about 54 minutes.
So let's look forward.
By the way, sir, we're looking forward to week 15.
Right now.
You can believe that.
And seem right.
Thursday night.
The Rams will be at Seattle.
So Seattle's looking there wounds a little bit.
I got a feeling this is not going to be pretty because right now Atlanta's down.
Atlanta's up on the Rams 42 to 14 with a minute five left.
And Seattle's going to be.
And let me put it to you this way.
It's 42 to 14.
The Rams is scored 14 on answered points.
Okay.
My dolphins will be at the Jets on Saturday night.
Because we're at that time of year.
We're going to start getting Saturday night games.
Your early games next week.
Cleveland will be at Buffalo.
So oh, and these these teams are combined six and 20.
Buffalo has all six wins.
Really?
Yes.
Green Bay at Chicago.
Pittsburgh will be at Cincinnati.
Tennessee will be at Kansas City.
Indie will be at Minnesota Detroit at the Giants.
Philly at Baltimore.
Jacksonville at Houston.
New Orleans at Arizona.
And that we're now into the late games.
San Francisco at Atlanta.
That might not be pretty either.
These teams are combined eight and 17 with Atlanta having seven of those wins.
New England will be at Denver Oakland at San Diego.
Tampa Bay here on Sunday night.
Next Monday night.
Carolina at Washington.
Boy, they looked rough today.
Carolina looked rough.
They did not look good at all.
I'm just saying it.
All right.
Let's move on.
Do some music talk because that's what we do on the show as well.
Because we are your one stop shop for all things pop culture.
Indie, we are.
Grammy nominations came out this week.
The Beyonce leads with nine.
Lemonade.
Lemonade.
Drake Kanye West and the Rihanna each have eight.
Adele with five.
So a bunch of people I don't care about in one person I do.
So you're going to tell me part and story this week.
About her wanting to helping out.
Yes.
Yeah.
I thought some prayers out to the people I've been affected by the wildfires in Tennessee
as well as the people in Oakland and the people I was at Pakistan where they had the car crash.
The plane crash yesterday.
Oh gosh.
I can't even remember.
And some people in South America as well.
But Dolly Parton, who she was from Tennessee, she has Dollywood, which is very, very
popular.
I look up their website.
That Dollywood's got a little something going on.
They got a theme park and a waterpull.
Oh, huge.
Cabins that are resort with an indoor and outdoor poles.
And they got a little thing going on up there.
She is working with her Dollywood foundation.
Every family affected by the wildfires.
She is giving a thousand dollars a month to until they get back on their days.
That's remarkable.
So you can go to I believe it's.
Dollywood foundation dot org but do do a Google search on that.
If you want to help her out because, you know,
Dolly's still still out there getting done.
She was actually close to our fair burger last night.
She was up at the Winstar in Oklahoma.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Friend of the show Raymond Garcia was there.
Santa picture on the social media.
That's a lot around a lot.
That man is well traveled, sir.
Uh, get ready for a new docu series next year.
I know you're excited about this.
Mariah's world is coming next year, sir.
Shoot me in the face.
Uh, but another doc in the series I think you will be interested in.
HBO is announced a four part docu series called The Defiant ones.
Basically chronicling the life and rise to power of both Dr.
Dre and Jimmy Iavine.
Yeah, you kind of have my interest there.
They announced that today that it's going to be next year.
Uh, and friends of a perfect circle.
They're getting back together in 2017 for a tour and possible new album.
Like the perfect circle stuff more than I like the tool stuff.
Really?
Big fan.
I enjoy the perfect circle.
Only one music new release this week that I even recognized.
Kid cutie is back.
Damn, man.
You know that guy?
Passion pain and demon slain.
Sounds like my 20s.
Just saying.
I read something really interesting.
What's that yesterday that apparently before he passed,
Netflix was in talks with Prince to do a reality show at Paisley.
Kind of glad that didn't happen.
Yeah, I am too.
Well, I still haven't watched the Justin Timberlake thing yet.
Well, he also said that he didn't really plan on being on camera.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
The way they talked about it, it almost meant it sounded like it was going to be like a
Diddy making the band type thing.
I was like, yeah, from the room.
Yeah.
Kind of glad that didn't see the light of day.
And I'm surprised you didn't mention the Madonna thing from last night.
You saw that or heard about the first my memory.
She was at some billboard women of music.
Oh, yes, go ahead.
I didn't read much about this and had the incredible
lack of class to mention how she had outlived a lot of her
contemporary.
Yeah.
Freddie Mercury.
I'm just like, really?
Yeah.
Some of our George Michael's going.
Yeah.
And boy, George's going.
You missed it on the way.
And don't forget Madonna.
There's still a few weeks left in this year.
So.
Tread likely.
Be careful.
I'm ready for 2017.
You might want to step out of the way that karma train.
If you pick up enough fuel.
Yeah.
That's in me.
I just thought that that could have been a little bit better thought out.
But you know why I didn't really even put it in the run sheet.
Because it didn't shock me.
It didn't shock me.
It didn't shock me.
It didn't shock me.
But it just, I was like, man, it didn't.
Every time I think that maybe you have a little bit of sense.
Madonna, you remind me why I don't really give a credit about you anymore.
Let's get into some NBA standing.
Shall we?
Oh, right.
Go back and get the NBA music.
In the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division, the Philadelphia 76ers.
Here's a surprise there in last place.
Five and 18 right now.
You're five and 18.
You're 11 games out.
So good luck with all that.
They are to a game and a half back on Brooklyn.
Brooklyn is six and a half back on the nicks who are tied with Boston.
They're both three back on Toronto.
Toronto is one two and a row in the central division.
The Indiana Pacers.
They're five hundred and they're six games back.
Seriously?
Yeah.
They're tied with Millawoke.
They're both a half game back on Detroit.
There's only six games to separate last and first in this division.
And Detroit is a game behind Chicago, Chicago.
Now four and a half back on Cleveland.
Cleveland's now one four in a row.
After getting kind of embarrassed to go and strike.
My beloved Miami Heat in the Southeast Division.
We're seven and 17.
So we're doing it.
We've lost five in a row.
So we're doing okay.
We're three and a half.
Two and a half back on Orlando.
Orlando's a half game back on Washington.
Washington, two back on Atlanta, Atlanta.
Two back on Charlotte.
So we've got that going for us.
Seven minutes.
17.
Okay.
Hey.
I know my team's coming up here and they really haven't been.
Western Conference Pacific Division.
Full Linux.
Seven and 16.
They're 12 and a half back.
They're a game back on Sacramento men.
Paul who's a game back on the Lakers.
Boy, the Lakers got their doors blown off the other night.
Did you see that?
I want to say it was with no Western Sacramento.
I can remember what made.
I'd been the Clippers or somebody beat them by almost 50.
By the way, the Lakers have dropped five in a row.
They are seven and a half back on the Clippers.
The Clippers now three back on Golden State.
In the Northwest Division.
I mean, a sword as six to seven, six and 17.
They're eight games back.
They are two and a half back on Denver.
Denver is two and a half back on Portland.
Utah and Oklahoma City both tied for the lead in that division.
But Oklahoma City basically has a half game lead because they've only played one last game.
And in the Southwest Division.
Wow.
Your Mavericks are two games behind the heat.
Exactly.
And they're a game and a half behind New Orleans who's lost five in a row.
It's been dreadful.
Memphis and Houston are both one six in a row opening that up a little bit.
But they're three and a half and three games respectively behind San Antonio.
Just here pop this week.
I think so.
But they lost the game and they asked him about, you know,
do you put that on yourself?
We're not getting the team ready for the game or your veteran players for the,
for the, you know, hyping everybody up.
And he's like, I don't remember playing the night.
There's 25 guys out there that you can say this on Dave Dave.
These guys get paid a lot of money.
Do you agree to play?
I'm a plumber and I don't do a good job.
I lose work.
If I'm a doctor and I bought surgeries.
I'm not a doctor anymore.
I don't agree with a lot of a great pop of it.
But I agree with that.
But I'm with you pop.
I'm with you on now.
And do you see, oh, speaking of things that nature.
Did you see the thing with the Baltimore Oral's manager this week?
No.
Somebody in a press conference asked him if they were going to be pursuing
Joey Batista because he's going to go.
Oh, Jose Batista, Joey Batista because he's going in a free agency.
And the general manager says,
we don't want him or fans don't like him.
I said, please god let that be true.
Oh my god.
That'd be true.
That's awesome man.
That's that was a thing.
This week.
I really hope that's true.
I really, really, really hope that's true.
That's, that's like I hope pays attention to his fan base.
And if it's not, it's still funny.
Oh, it's, let's go on here.
Okay.
Let's people are talking.
All right.
Take a deep breath.
We got a lot of it in the morning.
Oh, no.
I was dreading this segment.
The only way I can do this is I'm doing it in order of age at passing.
Because you really can't weigh one more, more than the next.
The social, cultural impact of each one.
Because we had a lot of them this week.
We start in Denver, Colorado.
Rochon, Salam.
Heisman, trophy winner.
From the University of Colorado.
Played for the Bears, the Browns, the Packers.
Wints and played it for the Memphis Maniacs, if you remember them.
And then called the XFL.
Then came back for the Niners and went to the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL.
He was drafted 21st overall in the 95 draft by the Bears.
And obviously, it autopsy is pending.
No foul play was suspected.
It's being investigated as a suicide.
He is the youngest player in NFL history to rush for a thousand yards.
Goodness.
That one was, I, that came down and I was like,
Next one on the list.
We're going to jump a little bit because, oh wait a minute, I got this one.
Totally out of order.
Dying at 67 this week.
Margaret Whitten.
Does this name mean anything to you?
Yes, it does.
Feel free sir.
Very much so.
That would be the team owner of the Cleveland Indians in Major League.
That is correct.
And Michael J. Foxes aunt in secret of my success.
Born in Fort Need, Maryland.
And her, uh, she was built by her birthday made her Broadway debut in 1982.
Steaming.
Remember she's also in Major League too.
She was in the best of times, man, without a face.
Uh, not, she was in nine and a half weeks.
Why am I not alive to live?
Um,
They're a little bit more Broadway after that.
That's, that's what I was saying.
Why am I not surprised she did Broadway.
She definitely has that type of personality.
Mary twice her first marriage ended at a divorce or second marriage.
Was who Warren Spectre, a one-time bare-sterns and company executive.
Uh, had a very brief battle with cancer.
No children.
Loved her work in the Major League films.
Really, really did.
Very much enjoyed that.
I really, lovely woman too.
Yes.
Agreed of there.
Uh, Greg Lake passes away this week at the age of 69.
Think of the last name.
Hmm.
You're probably going to slap me on this.
Because I was part of a rock trio.
Oh, oh, that's right.
I feel like I need it because I pointed this out to my wife.
Yeah, ELP.
Emerson Lake and Palmer.
And I'll tell you who's been playing a lot of his, one of his songs lately is Holly.
He has a son called I believe in Father Christmas.
Been in heavy rotation this week.
Okay.
The Emerson Lake and Palmer, one of the big pro rockers.
Yeah.
So doc, doc would know all about him.
Also van Williams this week at 82.
Does this name mean anything to you, sir?
Uh, again, it's shit because I usually keep on top of these things.
But I usually have a piece of the green Hornet.
Yes.
I'm pouring in Fort Worth.
I grew up on a ranch outside of Fort Worth studied animal husbandry and business at TCU.
Move to Hawaii in 1956.
After differences with his father on how their ranch should be run.
He was also in Surfside 6, the Bourbon Street beat.
Married his wife in 1959, three children, five grandchildren.
Twin daughters from a previous marriage.
Pat Priest from the monsters was said she was, he was her mentor.
Worked as a reserve deputy sheriff later on at the Malibu Station of the L.A. Sheriff's Department.
Pat Priest was she the first or the second Maryland.
Okay.
Then she was the second one.
Well, he was also in Dragon the Bruce Lee story.
How about that?
He was actually in it.
Yeah.
Because he obviously didn't play himself.
But no.
I'm just saying.
93 this week passing away.
Peter Vaughn.
Yes.
You want you to take this one, sir.
Well, you kind of caught me off guard.
All right.
I wanted to have something up in front of me.
Born in Wem Shopshire, England in 1923.
I mean, most people are going to know him from Game of Thrones.
Right.
But he was Robert Lindsey and Citizen Smith.
He also had parts in Chancellor.
He was actually the father of Anthony Hopkins in remains of the day.
Oh, gosh.
I don't think I would have recalled.
See, that's why I wanted you to take this because I knew him from Game of Thrones.
But I don't know the rest of his resume.
The latest debut in 1959, an accredited role in the 39 steps.
But the remains of the day was his highest profile.
He was also in the man who killed Don Quixote.
But had not shot anything before the project was abandoned.
He was in time bandits.
He was in Brazil.
He was in time.
He was a menacing character in the 1971 version of Straw Dogs.
And he was with Bill Murray and the Razor's Edge in 84.
He did a version of the Crucible in 96.
He also was in the Lay Mis film.
I didn't know who he played in in time bandits because I was saying about firing that thing up again fairly recently.
He also did a 1981 BBC radio production of Lord of the Rings.
Really? Who did he play? Does it say?
It doesn't say.
I don't know. He was a Denithor.
Okay. Oh, okay.
He was also partially blind.
First, he has two marriages.
First one divorce in 1966.
Second wife was Lilia's Walker.
His stepdaughter of Victoria Burton is a married two-grigger Fisher.
And then let's just get to this last one.
Dying at 95 this week.
And it's really kind of odd that this happened because
I had just seen a film that he plays his life plays a prominent role in called Hidden Figures.
Yes.
John Glenn passed away this week at 95.
First American to circumvent the Earth.
I think I'm hoping that a lot of people will take their time to see Hidden Figures when it comes out in the next couple of weeks.
It's a great film.
Our reviews will be up very, very soon.
This is a man that his entire life.
He's portrayed very, very well in this film.
Very charming.
Really, really, very much of a humanitarian and a guy who not only created history,
but he helped maintain history as well.
That one hurt.
Yeah.
Yeah, that one's stung.
I've said it before.
I'll say it again.
Come on, 2017.
Can we please put 26?
I mean, and I've been, something I was in a discussion with somebody this week.
Is it because we're getting older and the people that are passing are more people that we recognize?
Where has this just been a really crappy year?
I just been a really crappy year.
I don't think that's even up for debate.
I mean, whenever the new call of duty came out, they actually marketed it towards how bad the state of the Earth was in a distinct, so screw it.
Let's just go to space.
That was part of their ad campaign.
That up to you.
Yeah.
Let's just move on and get on some professional Russians.
We can kind of get some life back in this thing.
All right.
So last week was TLC.
In our fair bird.
In our fair bird.
We were at the studio because that's what we do.
He had some, got some reports from some friends of ours that were there had a great time.
But let's talk about point update.
Shall we?
Sounds like the right back theme.
Almost time it doesn't.
A perfect score at this time would be 117.
No one's anywhere close to him.
In fifth place Andrew has 36.
He was 4 and 3.
L.A. has 55.
He was also 4 and 3.
You are still a point ahead of him because you were both 4 and 3 at TLC.
I have 65.
I had the worst record of all of us at 3 and 4.
Don, so don, open his lead a little bit.
He's at 84.
Everybody was 4 and 3 except me.
I was 3 and 4.
John.
So let's talk about where we grade it now.
Um.
I said C minus.
I'm downgrading it to a D.
It just didn't.
It never got off the ground for me.
You said C.
I'm downgrading it to a D as well.
Don said C minus.
Doc said B minus L.A said D.
Charlotte said D plus.
News you need to know.
The name does the name Tom Cassiello mean anything to you because he is gone from the company.
Cassiello.
No.
Which is head writer.
Out.
Really.
Yep.
His statement was.
He feels like a wait's been lifted off his shoulders.
Wow.
Probably off the fans too.
I'm not saying it's going to get better, but I can pray somehow I doubt it.
And it is now official.
Linda McMahon will be part of the new administration in the White House as.
For in the small business administration.
Because if there's anybody knows about small business.
Okay.
I'm at the point where I'm just going to give this thing a shot.
I'm going to give it the college try.
I just got such a bad feeling.
Did you do McDonald's this week?
No.
Because you know as of midnight tomorrow if the new day retains the titles.
They will now they will tie demolition for the longest WWE tag team rain in history.
Seriously.
Really.
Okay.
They preview.
Biggie puts up a tweet that says, um.
Thanks, McDonald's.
They sent him a Fanny pack because you know how he's been wearing the Fanny pack.
That has what looks like a tag team buckle on it.
That is the tag team hunger champion.
They said I'm a really nice letter with it.
All right.
And it's really kind of neat if you look it up.
Congratulations to Trish Stratus.
She's having a girl.
She announced that I'm Lily and Garcia's podcast this week.
So she will now have one of each.
Emma Lena debuting this week.
I like to quote, Inzo Amore.
How are you doing?
Was it of anything of note or was it just a high on here now?
They've been doing these vignettes for a while.
I know.
So the debuts tomorrow night.
Oh, she debuts this week.
This week.
I thought she said she did a huge.
She debuts this week.
Did you notice the announcement from Sasha Banks Monday night about next week?
No.
And then the road one.
A road back into the line.
30 minute and Iron Man match for the title.
Her and Charlotte.
Hmm.
I'm looking forward to this.
That match last week was amazing.
Yes, it was.
Or two weeks ago now.
Good.
Are we.
Do we have the stomach for a 30 minute Iron Man match?
A woman's 30 minute Iron Man.
With these two.
Absolutely.
I mean, do you think that.
I mean, because that's a lot to ask of somebody.
Do you think they.
You think they'll have enough gas in the tank for a half hour Iron Man match.
I think God is not a 60 minute.
I know that's probably why.
Yeah.
But I think they can go 30.
Well, how they went.
The better part of 20.
On raw.
Hmm.
I just.
Keep it low impact for at least half of it.
So now with this new arrangement in the studio.
It's easier for you to see things.
When I queue them up on my computer.
So I want you to come over here.
And I want you.
It's a lot easier than used to be.
And I want you to see this because Jericho is selling a Christmas sweater on a website.
All of the.
All the proceeds are going to go to quantum leap farm.
And what they what quantumly farm is is they help people with mental and physical disabilities
through equine therapy.
Okay.
I see a sweater is $40 from represent dot com slash Jericho.
And I want you to just come see this.
And if you think about it being the holiday season having Jericho do a sweater makes sense.
You like that?
Yeah.
I do.
So for those of you, of course, listen because this is an audio medium.
Let me describe you with Chad just saw.
It is a picture of Chris Jericho in the middle of it.
Very cartoonish with flat with trees and candy canes and kind of an ugly Christmas sweater motif.
And it says Jericho's making a list and checking it twice.
And then in small print it says you stupid idiot.
It's it's the look on his face that really does it.
Yeah.
Said Jericho smile.
So you can go to represent dot com slash Jericho.
So if you want more information on how you can get there.
And again, all that money is going to charity.
Let's talk about raw.
How is this not on the shop?
I really don't get that.
I don't know.
You think they'd be all behind you would think.
You saw how we started to show money night, right?
No.
Of Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins going back and forth and Kevin Owens says one of the gifts he's
giving the Jericho this week is he's booked Seth Rollins in a match.
And his opinion and his opinion his opponent.
The return of Frenchy.
You've been wondering about I was very happy.
I was in the kitchen grabbing something to eat.
I heard the music and I went Frenchy.
I bet you almost dropped what you had to.
And then of course, Frenchy's beaten up Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens is running his mouth.
And Frenchy finally just kind of just kind of had enough of him.
And shoves Kevin Owens.
Chokes Lams him and looks at Seth and goes.
He's yours.
And walks away.
He's kind of out.
And ways as he's leaving.
I will tell you this cold calling of that cruise away match was a nightmare.
Like I don't know if he wasn't paying enough attention or what was going on.
But at one point Rich Swan was wrestling TJ Perkins called Perkins Kendrick.
Like it was it was a hot mess.
It was bad.
Really really bad.
It's guy.
I don't care what you used to do.
And there are certain, there are certain angles in professional wrestling that make me uncomfortable.
The angle of the guy getting seduced by another guy's wife.
But it's just a trap when he goes back to where hotel room kind of thing.
Yeah, I'm not a fan.
They did that this week with Enzo and Bruce F.
Oh, no.
Yes.
The only thing I'll give this angle because it was genius was Enzo talking about how Lana
was given in the eye.
And the whole time he's singing, my mind's telling me no.
He's really opening a bump in grind and it was so terrible.
It was wonderful.
Because you know I'm a fan.
I am a fan of Enzo in cast.
If he wants a trap in a closet.
You know what?
They should have done that.
They should have done that when he wins at a hotel room.
Give us the book in a checkbook for a year.
But don't make it a multi-part thing.
That aren't really in real yet.
Oh.
It's a fresh you didn't come up with that.
Enzo was not trapped in the closet.
That's the name of this week's episode.
All right.
I'll take that.
With a question mark.
Spoiler alert.
If you haven't watched it yet in three two don't say the one.
Bullet club in New Japan has a new member.
And his name is Cody Rhodes.
Really?
How about that, sir?
Wow.
Said his match with Jay Lee thought final battle just he had a great time.
So he's really enjoying himself there.
And he's like does he see to be fitting in pretty well?
Yeah.
And to kill a rumor that's out there right now.
His wife is not pregnant.
I don't know where that rumor came from.
But they had to come out this week and say,
No, we're fine.
We're not pregnant yet.
Well, even if they weren't pregnant, they'd be fine.
Steve Carino's son Colby was arrested this week after being found with a few
son unconscious at an apartment with what can only be described as a
plethora of drugs in paraphernalia.
And this is right after his dad says goodbye to ROH because he's going to be a trainer
at the poor performance center.
And Steve put up a really nice tweet.
Registrate ROH thanks and it was just a picture of his boots.
Very, very classy.
And I'm a big fan of Steve Carino.
And Silas Young has resigned with a ring of honor.
So apparently the guy that calls himself professional wrestling's last real man has a new contract.
Rumors of NXT going live next year as it should not every week.
But periodically they're talking about doing live shows on Wednesdays because apparently
logistically it's a little bit rough with scheduling the things like that.
But they do have the thought of doing it.
I'm on board.
I support that.
Um, I want you to do a quick Google search sir.
On a new young lady that started to develop mental deal with NXT.
Julie real R-E-A-L.
And while you're doing that, I'm going to talk about the tweet that I did.
The text I got earlier from Steven Zimmerman apparently Chris hero back into with the company.
Maybe going straight to the main roster.
Really big fan very excited about this.
Chris Chris hero if he can keep it on straight.
I like this kid.
What was the name again now?
Julie real R-E-A-L.
She's an MMA fighter who has been signed to a developmental deal with WWE.
I'll hang up and listen to your answer.
Oh, I'm sorry.
I can't do that, don't you have it.
Is it still thinking?
Yeah.
Good lord.
You have to stop running like 27 tabs at one time in your browser.
I think that's your problem.
I'll just do it on my phone.
Alright, with the move of Mickey James has been offered a deal to join the main roster.
She has signed that deal.
Good.
Well, she was more of the hesitance than the company was.
She wanted to work out.
Because you know, she's got the baby now and she's married to the Magnus and all that good stuff.
I still together.
I wouldn't show that.
Yes, they are.
Her last name on Twitter is his last name.
AJ Styles did suffer a minor ankle injury at TLC that was not a bit unsmacked down.
But it's not supposed to keep him out very long.
Did you notice that Lawler's been off the pre-shows?
Yes, I have.
He is now on a Legends contract.
Leaders off the pre-shows now as well.
They're both on Legends contract.
So your pre-shows now Charlie Carruso and Booker T.
You know, I'm a fan of her.
I've heard that she's done.
Now you just put the Legends contract that she's actually going to go back to training from what I've heard.
I could be wrong.
I've heard conflicting stories.
I mean, I've actually conflicting stories.
Well, you both of them are gone.
We will monitor this situation for you as time warrants.
Uh, speaking of Booker T, he has announced he's running for mayor of Houston in 2020.
Oh, no.
Nothing good can come from there.
Just as it is, pay five.
Just don't let him get in passion and speeches and speak off the cuff.
Yes, sir.
That's pretty girl.
She looks like a little butt kicker.
I know we've already got one of those in the WWE.
And did you see who's appearing on SmackDown Live this week?
No.
He's fluffy.
Gabriel Iglesias.
Lord.
He's a huge WWE fan.
He's done Austin's podcast.
I think three times now.
So I'm actually looking forward to it.
This one they distilled a girl they had last week.
The subtle pop star.
Very awkward segment.
So I'm saying, no, your demographic WWE.
So got that going for you.
Where am I at?
SmackDown Live.
I do like AJ's new t-shirt.
It's at his P1 logo and it looks like the paint dripping off of it.
It looks great and a long sleeve.
He was wearing a long sleeve shirt.
It looks really great this week.
And it dripping down the sleeves all outside.
No, just straight down the front of the shirt.
Um, and this change elbs were thing would be so much better.
Uh, you might want to look behind you on the screen, sir.
Currently on the pre show for Sunday, I football.
You've got Vin Diesel, the rock, Tyre skips in.
Because we're going to talk about that in just a minute.
Because this week they did announce the title for the eighth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise.
Are they dropping the trailer during the big game tonight?
That I don't know.
I wouldn't surprise me because they're interviewing them all right now.
Can I just tell you, I saw I watched that trailer last night again for this new triple X.
It just looks terrible.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
I'll tell you, I'll tell you what looks terrible.
Well, we'll do movie talk.
Yeah, put a pin in there.
Remind.
Um, but anyway, this elbs were a thing.
It would be so much better if he was just styles as lacking.
Because that bit of the opening of the SmackDown is terrible.
I think his entire bit is terrible.
And I'd say what else is weird.
And you were here for this when we when we were getting everybody out of here for the pay per view.
Watch, we watched a little bit of talking smack and that interview with Alexa Bliss.
Were you there for that whole thing?
Yeah, where she had a big issue.
She was like, oh, this is a great stay in my life.
And it's like, like, two minutes in, she was supposed to be a heal and change the whole thing.
It's great.
It's that you're, it's so happy to be a heal.
We did have a great victory by the height bros this week.
And writer has the SmackDown live logo on the back of his trunks.
Shouldn't it say SmackDown hype?
Because he's one of the hype bros.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'll go with you.
Just saying.
Well, since we're already teasing movie talk, let's go ahead and do that.
Well, I did see, and I don't know if this is old news or what about about them changing the name of the belt on SmackDown.
No, I know it's now just a heavy, no, no, it's just a world championships.
It's just champion.
WWE champion.
Well, they referred to it as the world championship on Tuesday night.
Maybe they're changing it this week.
I think I think they might be changing it again.
Okay.
I just saw something last time.
I'm like, why did they keep doing that?
That seems unnecessary.
I still think we're about to turn back.
You wouldn't chill.
Just saying.
Let's go to box office numbers dropping out of the top ten this week.
Just a couple of films in Carnet drops from nine to 14.
That was a WWE films release just under two million just just a little over one million dollars this weekend.
Two weeks to four and a quarter million five million dollar budget.
And that's down to two drops from eight to 13.
Wow.
1.3 million dollars three weeks 16.8 million dollars 26 million dollar budget.
That's unfortunate.
Almost Christmas drops from 10 to 12 this week.
1.4 million dollars five weeks 40.3 million dollars 17 million dollar budget.
If you see if you go to our partner show.
Actually, they're showing the trailer right now.
The movie brothers, they do have a review up for almost Christmas.
You can check that out.
All right.
The movie brothers, BRUTHAS.com.
You can also go to the links page on our website and you can find their logo and link to their website as well.
Oh, and the Charleys.
They're on apparently in this one.
Really?
I just saw her.
I think fast and furious.
I think yours.
Here's a jump for you.
Coming from 41 to 11.
Got to give it an honorable message to you.
As Miss Sloan gets a wider release.
Oh, I don't know.
My Don's review is after that.
The website $1.9 million dollars in three weeks.
It's made $2 million dollars.
But it's getting a wider release.
Hacksaw Ridge dropped from $7 to 10 this week.
$2.3 million dollars.
Six weeks, $61 million dollars.
I do not have a budget.
Trolls.
Still in the top 10.
Drops from six to nine this week.
$3.1 million dollars.
Kurt Russell's in this.
Two.
Yeah, I should have bread at the end of the last one.
I see.
I haven't watched one since like the third one.
Um.
I see the girls marathon.
Okay.
$3.1 million dollars this week for trolls.
Six weeks, $146 million dollars.
$125 million dollar budget.
I'm really, really like this film.
I do do that.
Manchester by the sea jumps from 11 to 8 Don really like this film.
$3.2 million dollars.
Four weeks, $8.3 million dollars.
Nocturnal animals.
Cause this gets a wider release this week.
Jump from 16 to 7.
$3.2 million dollars.
Four weeks, $6.2 million dollars.
It was better than nine of cups than it was better than a winner dog.
Ally jumps from four to six this week.
$4 million dollars.
Three weeks, $35.6 million dollars.
This was an $85 million dollar budget.
Yeah.
Well, look who's in it.
I mean, I really kind of want to see it.
I do too.
I'm intrigued.
Dr. Strange stays at five.
$4.6 million dollars.
Six weeks, $222.4 million dollars.
$165 million dollars.
You know what's like a killing for nationally though.
Let me take a look and see what the numbers are national are.
I really don't know for sure.
A rival goes from three to four this week.
$5.6 million dollars.
$5 weeks, $81.5 million dollars.
On a $47 million dollar budget, I'm surprised it was that low.
Do you know anybody that said anything?
I don't know a lot of people have seen it and loved it.
Okay, because I'm another thing.
I'm intrigued.
Dr. Strange is almost double foreign.
$423.4 million dollars.
I figured it's almost made $650 million worldwide.
It has a multicultural appeal in that.
Thanks.
Dropping from a silver medal to third place this week.
Fantastic beasts and where to find them.
$10.8 million dollars.
$199.3.
This was a $180 million dollar budget.
They kind of bet the farm.
Yeah.
Got the farm.
Five films.
Same director.
Office Christmas party.
We talked about that a little bit earlier.
Dave Hughes in the silver medal this week.
$17.5 million dollars.
This was a $45 million dollar budget.
So we all need to get on the bike and ride.
This is pretty steep for us.
But from Moana, third week in a row.
Number one, or at least two out of three.
Because this is it was number one last week.
So obviously it's about three weeks.
Obviously been number one since it released.
Another $19 million dollars.
Three weeks.
A hundred and forty five million dollars.
I can almost safely assume it's peaked.
Because we know what's coming.
Yeah.
We're not saying.
We're not saying.
We're not saying.
We're not saying.
We're not saying.
No.
Just saying.
No.
We would never do this.
Boating.
Happy 100th birthday on Friday to Kirk Douglas.
God bless that man.
Just see who he shares a birthday with.
No.
Judy Dension, John Malkovich.
Wow.
Yeah.
Not bad.
So congratulations to that man.
Yeah.
He's defied a lot of odds.
Uh, we was announced this week.
Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the Oscars.
How do you feel about that?
I like the Kimmel.
I'm a fan.
I like him.
I just don't know if I don't know how entertaining he'd be for the Oscar telecast.
You kind of need a bigger name for that.
That shows been on a long time, sir.
Yeah.
But to me, just there's no real wow factor there.
He may be like, I'm sure he's a competent host out.
Yeah, I mean, obviously he's a competent host because he's got a talk show.
But I just don't know how entertaining he'd be in that format.
I think he'll be fine.
I mean, he's he's definitely capable.
I just.
I don't know.
I don't know if I'd go with him.
No, it's fair enough.
Let's talk for a minute.
The mummy trailers up.
There's a lot of trailers that hit this week.
What are your thoughts on the mummy trailer?
I don't know.
I don't know.
It's just knowing what this is.
Knowing that this is the, this is their, this is Universal's Iron Man in their monster universe.
This is their anchor.
This is the first one.
Because for those of you that don't know, they are working up with all of the old school Universal monsters
into a Avengers type film once they get all out.
Nothing about this trailer.
Screamed.
Although you see a sarcophagus.
Nothing about this screams.
The mummy.
But I think that works for it.
Because everybody knows the Brendan Fraser films.
Especially of a younger generation.
And I think this sets itself apart enough.
I'm intrigued by this.
Well, I'm very intrigued by this.
Because you got the girl that played the girl with the blades and, uh,
Kingsman playing the mummy.
And then you start to be on.
And then you've got, you know, the Tom Cruise.
I'm on board.
To me, it just, it seems more of a Tom Cruise film than it does a mummy film.
That's a fair assessment.
That, that's the only thing that doesn't sit well with me is like,
if you're trying to make the monsters the centerpiece of the thing,
maybe they're not.
I don't know.
But it just doesn't seem like they're marketing it to be.
To me, just look like another mission impossible film.
It really did.
It just, nothing about this screamed Universal Monster movie to me.
That's right.
I'm not saying it looked bad, but it didn't really wow me.
I don't know.
Maybe I'm just getting too jaded.
Okay.
But, you know, like, like, say if this was Dracula instead of the mummy,
and they spent the entire time on the actor playing fine-housing
rather than Dracula, I'd be a little ticked.
Are you waiting for another trailer?
Maybe show you more.
Yeah, I think I am.
A lot of trailers hit this week.
Yeah.
I mean, it's Spider-Man homecoming.
We're going to talk about here in just a minute.
Okay.
The Baywatch trailer.
And it's so big.
It did.
It's job.
It's sold me.
You can't say that.
You're just really tank.
I thought, I thought this thing had failed written all over it when they announced it.
And I have never been more wrong to work.
To work out more wrong.
Alexandria, DeDario, and that's what you need to know.
Okay.
So here, we had some more voice cast news from the Lego Batman movie.
And if you follow me on social media, which I do.
Last night was at the theater.
I got to be a little stand up with Lego Batman.
I allowed myself to toast myself.
Because Jill's happy.
Is he seeing this?
I'm like a stick to your head.
It's next year.
Billie D Williams will be voicing two face.
And a nice wrap around.
Wow.
You like that?
That's awesome.
You like that?
I had no clue there.
That's beauty.
Does if you remember from the 1989 Batman he played Harvey Denz.
There were a lot of people thought he would become two face, which then
go into Tommy Lee Jones.
But now it all works itself out.
That's awesome.
And every trailer for this makes me more and more happy.
Oh, no.
It's Batman.
It's Lego movie.
What's not to like?
And like Robin's just like it's humbling idiot.
It's I will love.
And will our net.
Could there be better voice cast thing for this film?
I just got I love him.
It's it's it's starting to scare me because for years it's always been every time I read a
Batman comic.
Conroy's the voice I hear.
And right now and then our net kind of creeps in there.
I was always on his first slide.
I like it.
I'm Batman.
This is my boyfriend.
Batman.
I'm Batman.
Thanks.
Aquaman has an official date.
October 5th, 2018.
All right.
I remember.
They're also saying that the Benath like the Batman is delaying the sequel to Justice League.
Yeah, that got pushed into 2019.
So how to train your dragon three has been also delayed to 2019.
A lot of release dates getting announced this week.
Have you heard that they're doing a 21 jumps free spin off film with the two females?
Oh god.
No.
Who does the engineer junior?
No.
Yes.
They're getting their own film.
But they're also saying that MIB 23 is not dead.
Really?
Okay.
I thought they did too.
But this week they're saying it's still listed in production.
So that's also think about a bad boys release date for.
We're going to talk about that here in just a moment.
Yes.
Absolutely correct.
Have you heard about this Barbie live action movie with the humor?
Yeah.
I like where they're going with this.
Amy Schumer is going to appear as a misfit living in a land of perfect Barbie dolls who
comes to the real world and finds out her differences make her more valuable.
That's June 2018.
I've become less and less than a fan of the Schumer.
Like, added.
I like her.
Astronomical.
She's funny.
And she dated the Dolph Ziegler.
Did you hear about the villain being announced in your new Tomb Raider film?
No.
Walton Goggins.
Sir.
Really?
Yes.
And it was so funny.
I was at lunch the other day because my boss and Kevin I could lunch every day pretty much.
And they were showing the cradle of life in the sushi restaurant.
We were at.
It was like cradle of life's on the music.
On the TV.
I'm hearing like Oasis and be an Eve 6 while I'm eating lunch.
What?
You risk it!
Were you at least there whenever Angelina Jolie's name came out in the screen and there was a
collective.
Oh, no.
That movie had already started by the time I got there.
But Walton Goggins is going to be the villain.
I'm in.
Because you know I'm a fan of him.
And he can play a bad guy on you.
Yeah.
And he can play a tweener pretty well too.
Yeah.
Uh.
What do you think about Greg Burlante?
We're making a little shop of hoarder with Warner Brothers.
The man's guy in the herd.
The word update.
Which makes me nervous?
Yeah, that does scare me.
But I don't know.
There's talking about they're just they're doing a new version of it.
I hope that's what it means and they're not trying to make it palatable.
Um, it's been 30 years.
Something we missed in television talk.
You know, because hairspray live with this past week.
They announced what they're doing next year.
Very odd choice for a contemporary audience.
What's that?
But next year's live NBC musical will be by by birdie.
No stranger than them doing hairspray really.
But hairspray is at least still got some pop culture relevance.
But people are raiding about it.
Especially Mark people say Mark and short was amazing in this.
Like I keep waiting for them to do like a remake of west side story and just watch the apple car completely get turned over.
Because you know that would tick a lot of people.
They've been really hitting this with these things.
Like sound of music just landed with a thud to me.
But it was it was a it was a gutsy choice right out of the gate.
It was brave.
But you know, and I couldn't sit them more than a couple minutes of Peter Pan.
Because I could just never get past walking his hook.
Uh, your next clover field film comes out 20 October 27th of next year.
It's going to be called the god particle.
Uh, after an accident with a particle accelerator earth vanishes in an American space station.
Finds traces of another station.
I still haven't seen 10 clover field lane.
And I don't know.
Let me give you the cast.
This might convince you a little bit.
Could I convince you with.
Crystal doubt.
Could I can consume with Elizabeth Debecky.
I don't know what that is there.
Could I convince you with Daniel Brule.
Could I convince you with.
Yangji.
Could I convince you with John Cresinski.
Could I convince you with Google move about the raw.
Okay.
And could I convince you with a young man named David O'Yellow.
Yes.
All right.
So you see how I built you up on that.
Yeah.
Because I didn't want to go top down.
Can you be like, hey.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Okay.
So Spider-Man homecoming sequel set for July 5th, 2019, which is now going to push bad boys
four up to May 24th after bad boys for life, which will be out in 2018.
And that kind of threw me when I read the highlight.
I read that because I was like, I had to go to IMDB and go.
What the hell happened to three?
Okay.
So I thought of it like a total knucklehead.
Yeah.
I actually had to go to IMDB and it's like, okay.
Because your bad boys, bad boys, too.
Bad boys for life, bad boys for.
Because I was I was invoking your catchphrase of did I miss a meeting.
I did the same thing.
I was like, well, can we back this parade up a couple of floats, please?
Very confused by all of this.
So your next fast and furious.
We're just talking about it's going to be called the fate of the furious.
I'm surprised it's not an F8 for fate.
Well, F8 is the hashtag.
Okay.
They just showed that.
They showed the trailer right before Sunday night football.
So I'm sure it's out there for you right now.
Looks like the fast and furious prison break.
So it looks like cheese.
And it looks like they're in prison and they're fighting.
They're trying to get out.
How do you feel about Fox developing a puff the magic dragon movie?
Ah.
From what I understand, that's not the only property from Sid and Marty Croft is being developed either.
Really?
Just imagine dragons not it's said Marty Croft thing.
That's a segment in the sea monsters.
That's what they're doing.
Okay.
That's what magic dragon was a Peter Paul in the series.
You know what?
I'm kidding.
I'm confusing it with HR puff.
He lived by the sea.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They are doing a segment in the sea monsters.
I know.
But they're talking about a puff the magic dragon movie.
Ah.
Well, they've done an animated film before.
Yeah.
So why not?
And Paramount is releasing a sequel to an inconvenient truth next year.
Yeah.
I saw that.
It will make a lot of money with a Southable margin.
That's my algorithm.
It's not very good.
Although apparently it's good enough for you.
So I'll make that.
It was so random.
That was bizarre.
You know how they're certain people.
You can do a personations of it.
Only in certain phrases.
That's my algorithm.
Like not getting it.
Well, when embassizable margin.
I learned that from Saturday night.
You just sound like Chris Lee Durman.
You just sound like Chris Lee from Chris Lee knows Ben.
Oh, I see.
Movie new releases in places you watch.
Movie new releases this week.
We forgot.
We forgot a trailer.
We haven't touched on the apes.
I haven't seen it yet.
Oh, God.
Okay.
When this is over.
It's on my agenda.
I just haven't had a chance because I heard it was out.
Yes.
And it was it was jaw dropping.
Um, and I forgot what I was going to talk about in movie talk.
No.
So movie new releases.
Collateral beauty.
Will Smith film.
Oscar Bay.
Uh, solace.
What do you know about this?
Nothing.
Oh, sir.
Let me.
I forgot to look this up for you.
This looks like a thing.
It looks like a thing.
See.
See.
This is a thing.
You just the other thing.
I put up on social media yesterday.
The snack that I bought yesterday.
No, I guess I missed sweet hosts.
Oh, yeah.
The cinnamon.
Is it the cinnamon sugar one?
Yeah.
Okay.
You put a little apple flavor in it.
You know, like a dull cheat.
A little apple jacks.
I'm going to find it.
It was missing something.
Have a little thing.
Apple butter on on the side is dipping sauce.
So solace.
A psychic works with the FBI to hunt down a serial killer.
Does this do anything for you?
It sounds like a what if I say,
Sander Berkeley's in this.
Yeah.
What if I say Sharon Lawrence is in this?
What if I say Janine Turner's in this?
What if I say Colin Ferrell is in this?
What if I say Abby Cornish is in this?
No.
What if I say Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in this?
Oh, what if I say Anthony Hopkins is in this?
Oh, so we got the.
We got the leads from Westworld and.
Yeah.
And we have one director releasing two films this week.
I think that's happened.
Maybe a handful of times in history.
But to me, the plot of this just sounds like a silence of the lamb's night.
The director's name is Pablo Lorraine.
First out first film he's releasing this week is called Naruda.
And inspector hunts down Nobel Prize winning Chilean poet Pablo Naruda,
who becomes a fugitive in his home country in the late 1940s for joining the communist party.
This features Guy Algarcía Bernal.
Okay.
He's also releasing a little movie called Jackie.
Oh, he did both of those.
Wow.
Pablo Lorraine.
My review will be up later this week.
I will tell you this.
Don and I have completely polar opposite views on Jackie.
That doesn't shock me at all.
Reading his review.
What's shocking.
Really?
And I mean, you could ask Kevin Kevin was there when I got it from him.
Because Kevin's screening it tomorrow night.
So I told him to call me after the screening.
Tell me what he thought of it.
Reading Don's review of Jackie.
You could have picked my job off the floor.
So there is that.
Also La La Land releases this week.
We'll be reviewing that for you as well.
DVD and blue right.
Oh, I'm going to try.
There's something called Rogue One.
Oh, yes.
That slipped our minds.
Kevin Smith, you have set the bar way too high.
And that's all I'm saying to you, sir.
Because his quote is, this is Empire Strikes Back Good.
Those were his words.
That's that's the general consensus across the board that I've read on IMDB.
I'm going to tell you something.
I mean, I could not be more excited to see this film.
I'm loaded for pay.
I am.
I'm a little weirded out that we don't have.
Um, an opening crawl.
I get it, but it's still weird.
Yeah.
Um, and by the way, office Christmas party, not 43% of Ron Tomatoes.
Bad.
Let's see.
Oh, no, no score yet for Rogue One.
To my knowledge, the embargo is up Tuesday.
So you'll start to see the reviews come up.
Um, I don't know when our review will go up.
If they want us to put it up Tuesday, it'll be up Tuesday.
Yeah, no kidding.
But if they want us to wait till Thursday, that's fine as well.
Also, a lot while I'm this week.
So we talked about the DVD.
Blue radio releases this week.
Morgan.
Do you remember that thing that came when?
Remember that was the movie that I that that Watson made a trailer from.
About the the girl that has the powers.
It's that they've got locked away in the closet in the cabin.
I guess not.
Yo, yo, when you look this up, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Suicide Squad this week with an extended cut.
Thanks.
Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children already available this week.
I kind of, I kind of surprised me.
Bridget Jones is baby.
It does not surprise me that it's out this quick.
Ben her, the new version where the guy looks like Charlie Day on the poster.
Florence Foster Jenkins this week.
South side with you, which we've reviewed.
End of a gun.
What the heck is that?
Steve's a girl.
Okay.
Is that the sequel?
You don't have any of it in the movies.
But for the last 20 years, I've been a cop.
A little men with great canier.
This looks very, very good.
Some guys that we interviewed recently for a documentary.
A fat wreck.
Oh, guns out on blue right in DVD this week.
Also a movie called equity.
Do you want anything about this?
No.
Let me pull this up for you.
And there's another one I'm holding back personally.
This is the movie that came out earlier this year.
About, it's like the, it's like Wall Street with all women.
Anna Gunn, James Purifoy, Sarah Megan Thomas is in this.
I've heard very good things about this.
Actually, I'm going to hold this one off till the end.
The criterion collection releases the asphalt jungle and Roma this week.
And you're going to be very excited, sir.
Hitting DVD and blue right this week.
A movie by a friend of ours.
And then another friend of ours.
And then his wife.
Ladies of the house.
It's a, it's a home room.
They're really shiny.
So congratulations to John Wildman and fair white.
And everybody involved in that film is getting it's getting it's the,
and although I like the movie poster cover,
more than I like the DVD cover.
I will tell you that.
I haven't seen that because I've only seen one cover.
I saw that in like Chad's going to be so happy about this.
Let's do some tech corner stuff, shall we?
Yes.
We're holding up really well for a run cheat this long.
Sony has announced a new limited edition Final Fantasy 15 Walkman Headphone and Portable Speaker.
What?
Because you know they're doing the, they're doing MP3 Walkmans now.
Right.
It's going to have high-res audio.
Each, they'll have etched pixel versions of characters on them.
They're going to be branded with Final Fantasy 15 staff.
With a special case they come in.
The 16 gig Walkmans going to be priced at 300 bucks.
The branded headphones are 260 no price on the speaker.
Good gosh.
For 16 gigs.
I'm just saying.
Speaking of Sony, they have now officially sold over 50 million PS4's worldwide.
That's impressive.
Let's go to the other side of the, actually I'm going to say this until the end.
Uh, tech in seven on its way to us.
Will include Kuma and Panda.
Okay, good, good.
So we got that going for you.
And your local Starbucks will now be a Pokemon ghost stop.
That doesn't make me want to go there anymore than I already did.
Just saying.
And did you see this new corporate co-op?
That's about to happen.
Universal and Nintendo.
Yes.
Universal parks and resorts will be teeming up with Nintendo for its own area and their parks and some of their resorts.
I'm kind of interested in this.
I'm surprised it took this long.
So they've done with the Simpsons.
Yeah.
I'm interested.
Yeah.
I can't.
And they're trying to keep up because Disney's getting ready for the avatar parks and the Star Wars parks.
And the Toy Story Park.
I still think they may have hitch their wagon to the wrong horse on the avatar parks.
Yeah.
You ain't the only one.
And I love that movie.
But I just don't think it needs a little.
I don't think it needs an area.
You watch 20 minutes of it.
You can't catch me in 20 minutes, bro.
Yeah.
I don't mean to Zach Ryder you hear.
But you can't judge him film by its first 20 minutes all the time.
But if you don't hook me in the first 20 minutes,
I'm not going to sit to the next two hours of it.
There's a payoff.
But I know you'll never watch it.
No.
Um.
I just.
I don't think it really belongs to you.
This recording we've received.
There is no Dana only zoo.
Then there's no pay.
Okay.
I let's get to the list.
Gonna throw a curveball out to this week.
All right.
It is our last normal show of the year because again next week we'll be doing
W-W-E-W-E roadblock end of the line.
We'll be off for Christmas.
We'll be off for New Year's and then we'll be back on January 8th.
Um.
And every year at the end of the year,
we tend to do something special in our list.
And I was thinking about something this past week.
Just this past week.
I don't think about things a lot of things.
But I think about, you know,
when we do our thank yous at the end of each season in July,
we thank our spouses and we thank our families and we thank our friends.
But I think there's a lot of people
that I don't want to say the words work behind the scenes with this show.
But there's a lot of people that in one way or another
have contributed to this excessive this show.
I'm calling you greatly, right?
I'm calling them my 10 unrecognized unsung heroes of the podcast.
All right.
This is great.
This is a no specific order.
This is just as I was writing them down.
Number 10, the Dallas Press Corps.
Absolutely.
We have met so many people in the Dallas Press Corps
that have helped open doors for us
that have given us support and advice.
And if nothing else have just been really, really nice to us.
To me, when they didn't really have to be.
I love it when we go to pick up our badges for the diff.
And we are treated like we've been there for years.
And we have been there for continued to be.
And we'll talk about this off air.
But I had a conversation with somebody this past week.
2017, if this conversation carries any water
could get real interesting.
Really?
Okay.
Please don't forget to put a bit of that.
Well, don't let me forget.
Number nine.
And I wrote this.
We always send some nice gifts to our vendors every year
because of everything they do for us.
There's one person that if you could name
the Kevin Bacon of this entire deal,
I can sum it up for you in two words.
Kelly Kitchen.
Absolutely.
Outside of God rest his sole Gary Murray.
If it's not for Kelly Kitchen's,
we sit in this room every week.
She wears the still tote boots to kick the doors open
and a lot of things for us.
She has treated us so well.
For just a couple of shrubs that sit in an office
once a week.
You know what I mean?
She was the one that got us our first film festival.
And she also introduced us to the people
that got us our second film festival, right?
Which then snowballed into
Fair Park, the AT&T Performing Arts Center,
all these other things we've gotten to do.
The walkthroughs at the Alamos.
Absolutely.
It's not for her none of this, right?
We're still spinning our wheels like we were four years ago.
Not that we weren't, not that we weren't living up to our potential.
We just didn't know what that potential was.
We're living up to our potential, but we weren't living our dream yet.
Right, but like we didn't know how far we could take this.
Right.
We thought that this what you're hearing now was all this was going to be on.
And along with that goes Don Ellison.
Yes.
Very, very early on in the history of the show.
He was the guy that was like, do this.
Don't do this.
This is the way you need to approach these things.
And every time I see Don, I always hug him and I tell him how much I appreciate what he's done for us.
And he's like, you kidding me?
He guys have gone farther than any of us could have ever dreamed.
Number eight.
Whether you're last name is Futrell, Wade, Mar, Sheely, McDonough.
Anybody of this ill, Hanson.
People that have, and this is not just on this show.
This is people that are just unsung heroes to me.
Being an only child raised by a single mother.
Family is something yours too.
That has always been a different definition for me.
Right.
Because my mother lives in a different time zone.
My mother traveled a lot when I was a kid.
And if it wasn't for people like your family and the people that I've named,
that I've literally taken me in on holidays and welcomed me in.
And just kind of helped me keep my sanity on more than one occasion.
I don't know that I am who I am.
Right.
I just don't.
So, and I know people don't do this for recognition.
They don't do this because they want people to talk about it.
But don't know what I'm going to talk about it.
That have kind of just really helped me not, especially this time of year.
It gets really tough.
Because it's been a while since I had Christmas with my mom.
And I get it.
But it doesn't make it any easier.
No, it doesn't.
You know, I'm glad I got great in laws that treat me just like family.
Which is not a lot of people have.
That's a tough deal for some people.
I consider so much that I haven't even met mine.
They can't do it.
That's true.
That's true.
That's where I am.
These next few are kind of personal.
So roll with me for a minute.
Okay.
Number seven is a lady that I'm friends with on social media.
And maybe someday she'll hear this.
I don't know.
But her name is Sherry Lacy.
And when I got out of high school, the day after I graduated high school, I was on a train
literally on a train to be a counselor at a summer camp.
And then I was home for five days and then I was off the college.
When I was at this summer camp, I was sent from the camp that I thought I was being assigned
to, to spending three, the first three weeks with campers.
How about what was called rustic camp?
The only reason I was sent there was because I was the only guy on the staff that wouldn't
have quit when told he was going there.
Really?
Yes.
That's what I was told.
I'm talking like we had to make our own paraffin.
We had to take like a tuna can and put cardboard and it and cover with paraffin.
So we'd have something that we could make meals with.
Good God.
Like this kind of wilderness.
I was there for three weeks, by the way, they're over my 18th birthday.
So where I went, there was a wilderness camp and then the horsemanship camp.
They have the nice dorms and everything else.
Cherry was the camp superintendent at the time.
She became a second mother to me.
When my mom came across the state to spend my 18th birthday with me, my mother actually
thanked her for taking care of me.
She is now a pastor and when I found her on social media, there are a couple of people that
I literally cried when they accepted my friend request and she was one of them.
Tom Hansen, who is my mentor.
He is a guy that was a father figure to me when I was in high school.
His kids are the first humans that have ever called me Uncle Rob.
I got to spend some time with him this summer and with with my nephew.
They actually put me up when I was in Florida.
Okay.
There are the ones that have taken me to night and joy the last two years.
He's talked enough a lot of ledges in the last 30 plus years.
Number five, my uncle Robert, who is, you met my cousin this past year, five years ago, her father, my mother's brother-in-law.
He was my father figure grown up and knowing he came here for my wedding, that was one of the ones that broke me.
He was one of those, when I got the reply card that he and my aunt were coming to the wedding, it broke in a three year.
It didn't throw me, it just, it was validation of what I'd known and he called me a couple of weeks ago,
just to say, so much less you know, I'm thinking if you don't love you, and that just,
he's one of the few people that can do this to me, regardless, and it's, ah, number four,
a man by the name of Jeff Heirs, he's my high school band director, oh, I know a lot about this guy.
You know, between me and Phil and Julie, I'm sure you've heard all the stories and James and the Lewis.
I don't know if I could say I heard all the story, you've heard all the good stories.
This was a guy and he's still directing band to this day for Mark, and he's in Michigan.
I started playing my instrument a lot later than most of the people that were in my grade.
They mostly started in the sixth grade, I didn't start to eight, so by the time I got the high school, I'd only been playing saxophone for a year.
He treated us like people.
That's, I know, he treated us with respect, like, he went to concerts with some of us.
Like in Jeff areas, just like, like, I was about to say, like, like, like, first minute.
Yes, I think it was my freshman year.
It's genius.
And we're friends on Facebook now, and he looks exactly the same except his hair's a little grayer.
Does that make you just a little bit sick?
It really doesn't because it kind of caps recaptures my childhood.
I made that man hug a hugger.
You turned it into a hair band banquet, I hugged him in the middle of banquet and freaked him out.
And then when I saw him at the band reunion about 15 years later, I did the same thing.
There are so many people that have so many great memories of him.
And they have reason to.
That man was our world.
He was our surrogate father.
He, he made us achieve something so much better than we were.
Yeah, he taught me about things like integrity and respect.
And how to hold your head high regardless of what happens.
That sounds like, mischief, like, my choir teacher, to the same exact reasons.
He helped foster my love for music, same here.
You know, my middle school band director, Mr. McLean, kind of put me on a path.
Airs shoves me down the road.
And I'll forever be grateful to him.
Number three, and we don't know all of them, but we know how important they are.
All of the interns that come through our vendors.
Boy, you ain't chill.
We've met a few of them to the hard working people.
And, and, but they love what they do.
And that's, and that's a testament to who our vendors are.
Our vendors are such great people
that they bring interns in and get them fired up about about the business.
Because marketing films and marketing stage productions and all of these things that they do,
this is incredibly difficult work.
Yeah, it may sound like it's all fun in games.
It ain't.
We see that these people work tirelessly to pull off all of these events.
And we're just honored to be a part of it.
We're honored to even be in the room.
Which then leads me to number two.
And it's three people.
Scott Jackson, Raymond Garcia, Catherine Price.
These people, they work with all of our vendors.
Helping get people seated in screenings, getting everything up and running,
getting their opinions after the film.
And they're three of the most down to earth, salt to the earth, people I know.
And they, and I know they get thanked a lot, but I don't know that they really get
recognized as much as they should.
And they're wonderful people.
And I love just standing around talking to all three of them.
And they will talk to you. Absolutely.
Some of the most approachable people I've ever met.
And I want to make sure that they get mentioned on the show.
Huge fan of Scott, huge fan of Raymond, huge fan of Catherine.
They're friends of mine on social media for a reason.
And number one in our unsung heroes are the people that listen to this show, the Empire.
Amen. What have I said for years?
If it's not for the Empire, we're just a couple of dudes running our Yappin' a room.
That's you. There is no one.
It's because the people that come up to me and they say,
Dude, I listen to the podcast and you're a moron.
Or I listen to the podcast and you mentioned something that I didn't even think of about this thing.
I may be a moron, but you listen to exactly.
You know, when you and I and Don go places and we run into people,
that say, man, I love what you guys are doing, it's something like,
to be the first podcast at something like the Dallas International Film Festival.
It still blows my mind.
Melts my brain.
And when we do the shows and Don does his, his, his requisite, can we come back next year?
And the answer is always, why do you even ask?
Like, you know this is happening, get right with it.
It just blows my mind.
It absolutely blows my mind.
And whether you've been a guest on this show, whether you've given us a guest on this show,
whether you've been a face in the crowd, whether you've been,
somebody that's just even helped us haul gear when we needed it.
Because the Lord knows I didn't get no younger.
We cannot thank you guys enough.
And in a season like we're having it is the holidays.
This is our, again, this is our last normally formatted show of the year.
We cannot thank you enough.
You are a gift to us.
Speaking of which, we will probably be doing our gift exchange next week on the show.
Keep listening.
Please keep giving us feedback.
We love each and every one of you.
Amen to that.
