Not necessarily in honor of the film we're going to review, but the day we're
taping this is a natural awareness of women's heart.

And I heard about them when I got to work today.
So yeah.
That's why I'm wearing them.

We recognize it at my job every year.
So whatever we do one of these, it is to review something.
This particular episode is no exception.
Put it down, put your seat belt on, put your tray table in the upright position because
it's about to go down because we are reviewing one of the most anticipated movies.
I'm going to say at least the last two years, not the most, but one of the most directed
by Tim Miller.
In his feature film debut, you know, I think you probably would know him directing
is the evolution of Bruce Wayne commercial for Batman, Arkham Origins, which is brilliant.
So off that, he gets to direct the Deadpool movie.
Nice work if you can get in.
You heard me right.
It has happened children.
Deadpool has hit the big screen.
Ryan Reynolds gets a second crack at the character.
Also, did you notice who the villain in this most on?
Ed screen?
I didn't know the name, but directing, guys.
Yeah.
He was the he's your new transporter and the transporter refueled.
Oh, really?
Okay.
Oh, that guy, I remember.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know who played the girl villain?
That was Gina Corrano.
Yeah, MMA star and local.
Okay.
Gina Corrano from Fort Worth.
Also, Marina Bakkerin is in this for the uneducated.

This is going to be off the wheels on this one.
We have to think our best friends and Joshua, but it's all right.
And a great in marketing.

Here's what you need to know.
I was waiting for this.
I knew it.
You knew this.
I was waiting for that.
I have to keep an eye on it, though, because there's like a tag on the end of this.
I have to get rid of Wade Wilson as a mercenary.
He does things for money, like scare people and kill them, but he's actually a nice
guy.
Yeah, yeah.
He's got a heart of gold.
Meets a girl, they into Vanessa, they hit it off.
He finds out a little bit later that he has cancer just about everywhere in his torso.
So as he's feeling bad for himself, a guy comes along and offers him the opportunity to get
rid of said cancer and find out if he could be a superhero.
What he finds out is maybe that's not what it's cracked up to be.
He winds up getting tortured by Ajax played by the aforementioned Ed Scream to they can
find out where his mutant abilities lie.
Well, they finally find it, but in doing so, it basically scars up his entire body doing
so.
But his power is, he can heal quickly.
So Scream gets away since he's the only one that can fix this for him, so he becomes
Deadpool.
The Merc with a mouth.
I'm going to say this right off the bat.
This is rated R, kids.
If you know nothing about the character, don't let your kids fool you.
Dad, it's a superhero movie.
Yes, that is true, but that is not the entire story.
But it's a Marvel superhero movie.
Uh-huh.
Also true.
So was blade, but this is the actually the third Marvel film to get an R rating, because
less we forget Punisher Warzone.
Oh, I didn't forget that one.
I did.
Until I was reading up today.
This is R for a reason.
There is nudity, there is violence, there is language, brutality, a lot of brutality is violence.
Yeah.
Yeah, it gets, it's graphic.
Deadpool is an R rated character, let's be in a lot of, in a lot of adult humor too.
Well, that's what Deadpool is.
Yeah.
That's what the character is.
I want to start with Tim Miller.
This is a guy that has Chad said, not a bad gig if you can get it.
I thought he captured this story brilliantly.
It was like he actually was able to get the right take in every scene with his actors.
And he did it kind of fearlessly.
There's a lot of shots in here that a lot of directors for their first feature would have
gone.
That's not going to take hold of him.
The opening shot alone.
Oh.
Yeah.
Establishing credits.
True.
My God.
And if you ever read the opening credits to a film, this is the one to do it in.
And again, we're not spoiling anything here.
I want you dear listener to experience this for yourself.
But from the opening credits, don't move, don't breathe.
Make sure you go to the bathroom before the film starts.

As you will not want to miss a frame of this film, it's gorgeously shot.
I could not find any fault visually.
The visual effects were spot on.
The action sequences are intense.
You will be on the edge of your seat through every action and fight sequence this film
has.
When you manage to catch your breath after laughing your butt off.
Yeah.
It's one of the funniest films I've seen in a long time.
It's great to laugh with a film rather than at a film.
Okay.
I got to get in on this.
Please do.
I have no Greek red when it comes to this thing.
That is true.
I admit it.
That is well documented on this show.
Okay.
But I'm doing this stuff.
I'm getting a little bit more and more, but I knew really nothing about Deadpool.
And I didn't know what to expect.
I had no idea.
Which is good.
And I came in five minutes into this film.
I was hooked through the rest of the thing.
I said about five minutes.
I don't really know where the front of the show Kevin Deans from the movie
brother says like this can end right now and I'm good.
And how they do the opening sequence with the song we heard earlier
with the slow moving, showing the action.
And so much comedy through.
The comedy goes through this whole thing.
Start to finish.
Maybe for about five to ten minutes work.
It's real serious.
Which is fine.
But it had comedy.
I did not expect seeing.
And it hit me from the left from the right.
And I was just so surprised on this thing.
I was surprised.
But in a very, very good way.
I had no idea.
This was going to be this.
What this type of film was going to be.
So for the non Greek creditors out there.
Don't matter.
Get into this thing.
It is.
I have said our multiple occasions since we screen this.
The night before we record this.
I have to go see it again because I was laughing so hard.
I know I missed stuff.
There is no fourth wall.
Let's just be real.
Yeah.
There's no breaking of the fourth wall.
The fourth wall gets destroyed.
Thirty seconds in.
From the get go.
Yeah.
And to me that that's part of the brilliant stuff.
Who Deadpool is.
Yeah.
He knows you're there.
He's going to help you out.
And the character lends itself so well to that type of very dark twisted humor.
And it's hard not to get caught up in it.
And so like it's so demolishes the fourth wall.
That it takes shots at its own franchise.
It takes shot at its own studio.
It takes no one is safe.
No.
No one is safe as well as it should be.
There are no sacred cows in Deadpool world.

This is kind of like in a way South Park.
Because it jabs at everybody.
No one is safe.

You know, because South Park has they don't matter.
They go after anybody.
Same thing here.
And the comedy like I said.
It's stuff that so many superhero movies are so serious with a little bit of comedy.
And they have to be this action in seriousness.
That's not who Deadpool is.
And that's what I love.
It's a breath of fresh air or something.
You don't see come in.
It just hits you with the comedy that never stops.
Well, and I'm a big fan of self-deprecating humor.
Oh, yeah.
This is this is the very definition.
And I love how he talks to the audience sometimes.
That doesn't break it.
Yeah.
I told Rob on the way to the to the car.
I thought that this was like the marvel version of Disney's enchanted.
I mean, this and God bless you Ryan Reynolds.
First of all, God bless you for sticking out this character through the atrocity known as X-Men Origins Wolverine.
He even knew.
Yeah.
He was like, look, I'm really sorry about this.
And thank you for allowing him to take the second crack at it because to me, there's nobody else.
This guy is Deadpool.
You're welcome.
Wow.
I knew this was good.
I don't know who's doing this first.
Postmodern shoe box.
Okay.
The greatness of postmodern.
And featuring the great Dave cause on saxophone.
Oh, okay.
I think I love is that how Ryan Reynolds character takes jabs at his past.
Oh, absolutely.
I'm going to say this past character.
The brilliance of Deadpool and who he is.
They have captured this on a level.
And also, a lot of people have said the success or lack thereof of what this film will be.
Could change the landscape of the way superhero films are done.
Oh, this is a game changer.
This is a game changer.
And I'm happy to say this does it in a good way.
This opens the door.
Top cow.
Stand by the phone because you've got properties that I think people are
going to want to take on.
It's people like Lionsgate who's looking for that next franchise after the Hunger Games.
Get on the phone.
Because this movie is going to make a ton of money.
And it's going to open the door for comic properties to be made into feature films.
Because it's going to show that as a viable thing.
It's not just kid stuff.
That's how good this movie is.
And Marina Bakarin.
Showing a little bit of a different side.
No, I'm saying.
I loved the way he works with Colossus.
And when you have a mutant and you just name her Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
Merke.
After a monster magnet saw.
Exactly.
This.
This works on every level.
My stomach hurt leaving the theater from laughing.
Now, here's the big question.
You know, everybody talks about like the Fantastic Four being with 20th Century instead of Disney.
Do you think 20th Century Fox now put that new kind of.
You know, we deserve this franchise.
What I know.
Here's my thing.
Here's what you're doing trying to say here.
No, no, I see.
Yeah, yeah.
That's my question.
Hey, does Fox have vindication on a certain level?
Be what they should have learned is let the faint listen to the fans.
Listen to the fans.
Listen to the pulse of this thing.
If you want to hear a thoughts on Fantastic Four, go back about a year.
Because there's an iTunes exclusive for that as the kids like to say.
It's iTunes exclusive number 125.
Let me help you out there.
Okay.
Fox has earned credit with this film.
That's my question.
Hopefully they're going to take the lessons from this and whatever properties they still own.
Because I don't know what they have and what they don't the only ones I know they have.
Our Fantastic Four Deadpool X man.
They own the rights to the word mutant, which is why you don't hear it in the Disney stuff.
They still have Dr. Doom.
They don't have Galactus Galactus reverted back to Disney.
Any comic book properties they still have.
Listen to the fans.
Because the fans clamored for this and you can tell number one Ryan Reynolds is a fan.
Absolutely.
You can tell also that Tim Miller's a fan because of the way he shot it.
Can we say that every song in the background of this particular episode has a purpose in the film?
Indeed.
That's all I'm going to say.
There's actually another one that I can't play because I don't have a family-friendly version of.
Is it featured in the trailer by chance?
Yeah.
And I got to figure it as much.
But it just...
This movie is mind-numbingly good.
It offers fan service in the best possible way.
And even the people that we were in the auditorium with.
The laughter was loud.
It was raucous.
They would put behind me that I didn't think would find humor in it.
They were howling.
Yeah.
I mean howling laughing.
One thing I want to bring up is what I loved.
There's this kind of standard in films of superheroes and stuff, right?
This film jabs at that.
Oh, we're going to standard doing good-to-been drop.
We're going to hit the ground.
I mean stuff like that.
I love how it jabs.
And it works.
Yeah.
And it works in a non-parity kind of way.
Oh, yeah.
And it works on a...
Yeah.
We know what this is.
And we're not afraid to call it.
We're going to do that.
Which I absolutely loved.
And a lot of these superhero films get kind of predictable on the plot sometimes.
This one did.
It's an hour 48 that feels about like 30 minutes.
What's the last, first time you look, do you watch?
That's okay.
Fifty minutes in.
Okay.
Yeah, that's almost we were over halfway done.
The first time I looked at my watch and said,
Holy cow.
Now I will say this.
There will be people and I was one of them that get up.
You might get a little concern that they had the same problem.
Fantastic forehead where you get to a point.
It's like, oh my god, they got to fight.
Here you go.
I did get a little concern with that because we got to the one hour and 15 minute mark.
And we were still telling backstory.
And we were still telling origin.
And I was like, don't do this to me.
And then the pacing worked out and everything worked out fine.
Yeah, that's what the comedy went down a little and stuff.
But don't let it hold you back for sure.
But this way.
It's some longer than five minutes if we know.
Oh, absolutely.
Yeah.
I don't like, unlike some other film that.
Yeah.
Oh, we've already said which film it is.
Yeah.
I'm trying to be nice.
I mean, is there anything else that we want to put on this thing?
Acting.
I love the acting.
The characters they blended well.
The chemistry was incredible.
The look wasn't credible.
CG.
I was very good.
I, I, I, I, I, I didn't, nothing coming in.
And I was, my bar was like down here.
And it just hit the bar like three times above.
As, you know,
that.
Please.
How are all?
I know we've often said that.
Conroy is the voice that we hear when we read Batman.
Absolutely.
Ryan Reynolds is the voice.
I will, I will only be able to hear Ryan Reynolds.
Yeah.
His narration was very good.
And also shout out to the great TJ Miller, who could be one of the most underrated
comedic actors in Hollywood right now.
Playing his best friend in the bartender that he hangs out with.
Yeah.
He's there.
Their interaction from an imp because a lot of their interactions were improved.
Their improv skills rock solid.
Hilarious.
I mean, TJ, I love he was my non.
Yeah.
TJ Miller.
He's my non leading roll shout out.
He, I loved him on it.
Who knew Leslie Uggams could be so edgy and funny, which he wanted to.
Yes.
Yes.
Haven't seen that woman in a while.

Every time we think we've seen the best possible coveted book film produced.
Somehow it gets trumped.
As much as I loved Aunt Man last year.
This crush is it.
This absolutely crush is it.
I'm such a fan of this character.
And I'm so glad that we got the best guy imaginable to play the role.
And Tim Miller, you have a gold mine on your hands.
If you can go now.
Go often.
Go again.
Bring somebody else.
Watching in the theater.
But on it on blue ray.
Projected on the clouds.
So everybody can see it.
This movie is that much fun.
It is that good.
But again, it is rated R for a lot of.
A lot of reasons.
So remember, if you bring the kids.
You, my friend are rolling the dice.
