It is 702 on the East Coast.
It is 402 on the West Coast.
It is the 14th of February of our Lord 2016.
Due to a clerical error, we have to get things back on the right track.
It is season 6 episode 26 and 330 times.
You have heard this voice welcome you to the clubhouse podcast.
We don't care how you listen.
Whether you are alive on you stream, whether you listen on our cap, whether you are checking
us out on iTunes, we don't care how you listen.
We are just glad you are here.
My name is Rob and in case you were wondering the level of the talented in Mrs. Urban and
I had Valentine's Day yesterday.
So I am not alone in the studio, of course joining me is my co-host and a man who is probably
in the same boat on that that I currently in.
He is Chad.
Thank you, my friend.
Good to be here.
We are going to have Donna on the show tonight, but Donna is recovering from a fight with
pneumonia.
So, Donna, we want you to get better, stay rested, stay down and show your probably off
tomorrow.
Much like I am for President's Day.
So, rest it up, brother.
Alright, that being said, that is dive right in, shall we?
Let's do it.
Corrections from last week, when there was no show last week.
But from our last show two weeks ago, in the week following the rumble, yes, because
that was stupid British DVR.
I didn't hear anything.
I know you're actually clean, so that's good news.
So let's go ahead and just do this, wait a minute Rob, why are you playing this?
They told me, until next week, well, we're just getting you ready, because two weeks
from today is when we're going to start NASCAR talk.
We're not doing it next week, because we have paperview next week.
Indeed.
So, as Vince tends to do, fast lane, coincidence, no, I think not.
The same day at the Daytona 500, early reports from Daytona saying that juniors run
in a little aggressive in practice.
So maybe he's trying to get himself in right in shape to start winning some races this
year after a disappointing season during the chase last year.
So we'll get you updated on that as soon as we can.
We may give you an update of Daytona during the show next week, but don't hold your
breath.
We got WWE paperview and we know we're going to be a bit occupier.
We know, we know how our our bread's buttered kids, so I'm saying, let's wire to
her.
So, instead of NASCAR, let's do a little NBA talk, it is all star weekend.
I haven't watched much of the coverage we do want to set this shout out as we did last
time to a friend of the show, J.J. Tarno, double J, my boy, a member of the Mads Maniacs
currently in Toronto for the all star game, really.
So they're up there representing the DFW area and from what I'm told doing it big.
So that is not being facetious because they are men of size, but they're proud of that
fact though.
But I've heard they're doing very, very well up there, have it a great time, J.J.
has been putting up some great pictures.
So congratulations to the Mads Maniacs up there getting it done.
We did have a repeat winner of the slam dunk contest, I have not seen the footage, but
people are saying, holy cow, about that, never enough funny.
I know, it's just not.
I also don't know what happened with the slam dunk, because I didn't watch that because
why would I?
Wow, that's a combination and we're going to talk about this more in P.O.I. but there's
that.
Golden State watches underway as the NBA gets to the break.
They are actually one game ahead of Chicago's 95.96 pace right now as the quest for 73
wins, very, very active.
So we're going to have to see how this all works out.
I think the world will probably be watching if they're still at least on pace in about
a month.
If it's, let's just call it early March and they're still on pace, this thing's going
to be everywhere because they're going to be marching towards history.
But remember, you got to finish, ask the Carolina band, I wasn't going to say it, but
wouldn't go for the obvious.
I mean, I was going to do Super Bowl talk tonight, but really, like, by this point, it's
all old.
We all know what happened.
You know, if you miss any commercials, they'll probably show them during the Grammys
tomorrow night, because it's on the same network.
So there's that.
So as we know, this is Kobe's retirement tour.
And of course, people are giving him different things around the country.
And one of the things that Kobe received today was from Michael Jordan.
Michael Jordan setting the bar for retirement gifts today as he gives Kobe a pair of
every heir Jordan sneaker in the history of ever.
Which first begs the question, how many of you just Kobe not already have, and that's
kind of what I was saying.
But isn't his, isn't his endorsement through a detis?
Oh, that's the point.
I think his endorsements through a detis.
So he, unless he bought him on his own or somebody gave him to him, he may not have
very many.
But he's got them all now.
And I'm sure that our good friend of the show, Jimmy Silva, probably.
And Brandon Leonard.
And Brandon Leonard.
Well, but remember, Jimmy's a huge copious.
So I'm sure that was Jimmy's world's colliding when that announcement happened today.
Let's go straight to your NBA standings as we were talking about Golden State earlier.
In the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division, the Philadelphia 76ers.
Let's take a quick stroll down the page here.
Yep, still worse than in the league at 8.45.
Dear God.
They're 30 and a half games are 27 and a half games back in the conference.
They've lost two in a row.
They are five and a half games behind the Brooklyn Nets Brooklyn is 11 and a half games
behind the New York Nicks.
By the way, the Nicks have lost six in a row.
Oh.
Yeah.
So there's that.
That's really sad.
The Nicks are nine games behind Boston.
Boston is four and a half back on Toronto, where the all star game currently is getting
ready to be played here in about 52 minutes.
In the central division, Millal Walk hay, 10 games below 500 yet 17 back, but they've
won two in a row.
So God bless them.
There are five games behind Detroit.
Detroit is a game behind Chicago, Chicago's dropped four in a row.
They and Chicago is only a half game back on Indiana, but Indiana is 10 and a half back
on Cleveland, Cleveland writing a three game win streak into the all star break.
In the southeast division, Orlando's six games below 500, but six and a half back.
There a half game behind Washington, Washington is three games back on Charlotte, Charlotte
is two games back on Miami and my beloved Miami Heat, only a game back on Atlanta right
now, but they've lost two in a row, so that would have something to do with that.
In the western conference, Northwest division, Mina Sword, you're 20 games below 500 and
you're 23 games back.
They are five games behind Denver, Denver, five games back on Utah.
Utah is tied with Portland, Portland's one three in a row, but they're both 13 games
back on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
What have I said?
I said Oklahoma City, pretty much going to own the western conference for about five years.
Yep, now there's another team in their wake, but they're built to be around for a while
in the Pacific division.
The leikers have broken double digits and winch, they'll be happy to know, wow, they're
still finally happened, they're still 33 games below 500, I really know I shouldn't
laugh, but I just, oh no, you can laugh at the leikers, it's okay, I just can't help
it.
11 and 44, they have a 200 win per cent, but you know what, they're still three games ahead
of Philly, so there's that, they're 38 and a half games out of first place.
But they're only three and a half back on phoenix, by the way, phoenix has dropped nine
straight sur.
Well, are they really known as to be a house on fire here?
Not like, they're 10 and a half back on Sakura Minto.
The kings are 13 games back on Decleipers, the clippers are 13 and a half back on Golden
State.
Golden State has 11 in a row, they've only lost two games in conference.
They are undefeated in the division.
They are also undefeated at home right now, 24 and a half sur.
This team is scary, scary, I'm just saying, and in the southwest division, the new one
and Pelican, are 13 and now your wife actually gets that hit, so congratulations on that
for all these years.
20 and 33 either 25 games back, they are six games back of Houston Houston is two
back on your beloved Dallas Mavericks, your Dallas Mavericks are three back on Memphis,
but Memphis is 14 games back on San Antonio right now.
San Antonio's one six in a row, and let me tell you something, San Antonio's only four
games back on Golden State, really, yes, sur.
And I don't, I don't get it, I don't know how, like, this is the retirement home for the
NBA right now and they're still killing it.
I mean, they're up on your beloved Mavericks by 17 games sur, no broken hip and San Antonio
San Antonio also undefeated at home right now, that's amazing to me, I don't, I don't
know how pop does it, I will give him credit for the rest of attorney even though I
don't want to give any credit to the spurs, but still, this team is getting it done.
I mean, the heck with how pop does it, I mean, how the players do it, it's, I think,
to me, 80% of it is pop just coaching him up, you know, he knows how to pace his team,
he knows how to get his team, what they need, it's just weird, man, talent and team
work goes on.
All right, let's move on, just some television talk because we are your one stop shop
for all things sports and entertainment, congratulations to the magicians on sci-fi, they
got renewed for season two, this looks kind of cool, but I kind of don't care at the same
time.
Do you want to mean, does that make me sense?
I really don't know what this show is, it's, I don't know, I think it's kind of like
millennial Harry Potter, I mean, I could be absolutely wrong and Lord knows it wouldn't
be the first time on this show, you wouldn't be my first time today, but I mean, it looks
like it's got some pretty hip kids in it, you know, kids with the clothes in the hair, you
know, plus like, oh, by the way, vinyl from here tonight, yeah, I'm mentioning that when
I first fired up my laptop, but I got here and you didn't say anything, oh, but, oh, thanks,
after being recruited to a secret of Academy, a group of students discovered that the magic
they read about as children is very real and more dangerous than they ever imagined, okay?
You have a Jason Ralph not related to my wife, uh, Arjun Gupta, Summer, Bishil, Stella
Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, so a bunch of people we don't know, that is correct, doesn't
mean the show won't be good, but I've never heard of any of these people, got that going
for you, you know, which is nice.
By the way, this is also the last season for the good wife, they announced that a couple
of weeks ago.
Yeah, that was kind of a bomb shell, didn't they drop that during the super boy?
Yeah, it was kind of like, it's like I hadn't heard about that.
I know, I thought I was out of the loop, but then a lot of people on social media were saying
did not see this coming, but we really don't watch that show anyway, so we wouldn't have
known.
But it's doing very well, you know, go out of the top on there.
House of cards, Netflix announces the next season of that will be available on March
4th.
So book your weekend for that.
I got into my queue.
I haven't already started watching yet, but everybody's like, dude, you have to watch the
show.
Yeah, it's for you being a fan of that sort of episodic show.
Well, that was a very, you know, a very short finish, yeah, so it's just one of, it's
a time thing.
If other time is still undefeated, it's all I'm saying.
March 7th, three days after that, if you are watching the A&E network, that is a Monday
night, right after a bait's motel, Damien takes its bow.
Oh, no.
It is that Damien's sir.
Oh, no.
This is kind of a teenage college years Damien kind of a thing.
Why don't we keep doing this?
Because it worked for bait's motel, I mean, that things have like season three or
four.
I mean, it's, and it's AMC, we're really going to argue with AMC right now.
It's kind of hard to, you can't argue with success.
I mean, it's, uh, yeah, bait's motel about the start season four.
Just, I just, I didn't get that thing any longevity at all.
So that's the bait's motel premiere will be, the fourth season four premiere will be
followed by the series premiere of Damien.
Oh, good luck to it.
I've seen the trailer.
It looks pretty dog on creepy.
I know that the playing the adult Damien kind of launched the career of one Sam Neal.
It's the first thing I was seeing him in Thunderbirds are go.
We've talked about that before.
If you remember the old Thunderbird show when we were kids, the puppets never was a fan of it.
There's been, it's been a reboot, but it's not with, it kind of looks like puppets,
but it's more CGI.
It's been of doing very, very well in Europe.
It will make its US debut on Amazon.
So Amazon trying to get a little deeper into the game that Netflix seems to have the
corner on right now.
And USA has given a series order to their television version of shooter, which my wife was
just watching the other night.
I do not believe it will have what?
No!
In it.
So there is that.
So it's got that going for, which is nice.
And I don't know how I feel about this, and I know how I feel about this next
thing.
And I'm not real happy about it.
What's that?
It's given a pilot order to lethal weapon.
We were just talking about this a few weeks ago.
We thought this was dead in the water.
No, no.
But we do have the Mertaro role set and Damon way out.
Out.
I'm doubly out now.
No, it's one of the two that's got talent, though.
But I don't, Keenan might be old enough.
I don't know the team is, that's my problem.
I know.
No.
What role?
The rigs has not been announced yet.
I just, who's filming this thing?
It's being directed by MacG.
In the bloom, pretty much off of his rose at this point.
We're going to talk about him a little bit later, which you, unless you're not caught
up on a certain podcast we listen to, there was another announcement about him made
this past week.
I just, at least it's not Adam Sandler.
Because we're not going to go into that well again, are we?
Because remember, they did bullet proof together.
Yeah, I couldn't think of the name of that film because I'm trying to push it out
of my memory.
I don't know what's satir that that happened or that I remember.
Did you remember it?
Um, yeah, I just, this coming from the gutter has low down dirty shame.
Hey, you leave that movie alone, that is a great film that is an enjoyable film.
And just because you didn't enjoy it, does not take away from its greatness.
Okay.
I'll let you labor in that delusion.
That delusion, that movie is awesome.
But news that I think you might be more interested in, AMC has ordered a series called
Geeking Out.
This will be a late night talk show that will be hosted by Greg Grunberg.
Okay, and Kevin Smith.
Really?
Yes, variety announced this on Friday.
Not a lot of details available right now that I've seen, but you know what I'm in.
Because you know I'm a big fan of the Grunberg.
I remember him.
I remember Kevin talking about this, but I don't remember Grunberg's name being.
No, you're thinking of when they were trying to do Hollywood Babylon as a show.
Oh, that's right.
And that didn't get off the ground, which I don't understand.
I don't either.
But Grunberg and Kevin Smith.
Um, that's to take two great taste taste great together.
Yeah, that could be the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup of late night talk shows.
You've got your heroes in my clerks.
You got your clerks in my heroes.
Uh, let's distance from that heroes thing.
I didn't say reborn.
I did not say reborn.
I'm thinking more along the lines of this guy was just in the force of Waken.
So I would like to quote the great historian, the great philosopher, Patton Oswald.
When describing, he described something else, but it would really describe the ending of
Heroes reborn.
Oh, I can't eat smack, can you do?
That's all I have to say.
You're being generous.
And other interesting news, and I don't know how you feel about this, because I'm not
sure how I feel about this.
This summer, Disney XD, will be debuting Lego Star Wars, the freemaker adventures.
What this is, this is a family of scavengers who basically sell, they go to like,
asteroid belt and find parts of uh, Starships to sell.
Their youngest finds the Kiber Saber, which gives him a connection to the force and their adventures
there in the Kiber Saber.
It's an ancient art of fact.
Well, the crystal that powers all Sabers is the Kiber Crystal.
So is this supposed to be the original series?
Oh, I know.
I'm wondering if maybe this is like the X Gallipur of Black Saber.
I just, I'm interested.
I mean, you know, I'm not a big fan of Lego Star Wars, like television shows.
Well, our friend, Kinley,
says that we need to take another look at these at the Lego Star Wars TV shows.
He says it's some of the funniest stuff he's ever won.
So we shot.
We might want to get this a more serious look.
It's got to be better than Hulk and the agents of Smash.
Well, that may be apples and oranges.
And I wonder if that and uh, Avengers assemble are both gone, because I haven't heard
word on either one of them in a long time.
I'll look into that.
Uh, good news for fans of the Showtime debut of Twin Peaks.
Ashley Judd joining the cast of that.
Well, this thing has been a development for how long.
It's supposed to be with us next year.
They finally got it.
The thing back on track.
And if you're a fan of the Steven King book of 11.
2263, it begins airing with the James Franco.
Filmed on our fair bird tomorrow on Hulu, but they're not releasing the whole thing.
They're doing it episodically.
They'll be new episodes every Monday.
Wait, everybody's getting in on this deal.
We were just talking about, you know, Amazon.
Yeah.
Who's taking their swings at it?
This isn't their first forehand.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
This is one of their biggest.
So I'm going to see how it does.
Because also, obviously, with vinyl premiering tonight as well.
And John Oliver returns tonight.
Very exciting about this and man's a genius.
Yes, that man is a genius.
Oh, and we for I forgot also forgot to remind you,
somebody else has a show debuting this week.
One of your leaders, Greg Ferguson.
What has a brand new show that debuts this Thursday on the history channel?
Really.
I believe, let me, let me look it up.
Let me be sure.
But it's, it's kind of a roundtable discussion show about America.
I don't, I still don't want to screw this up.
Look it up before you say.
Yeah.
It's good, like I said, it's going to be on the history channel.
It's going to be Thursday night because believe me,
you have my attention here.
It looks really, really good.
And I don't know why IMDB is taking so long to pull this up.
I want to say it's called live for your die.
But I could be wrong.
Come on, IMDB, you're killing me, smalls.
Try it on my phone.
Hold on, here we go.
It's coming up now.
Oh, they don't have it on the deal.
That's underwriter.
I hate it when they do this.
Maybe it's under self.
Yeah.
No, they don't join or die.
Is the name of it with Craig Ferguson.
Features, the comedian debating provocative and timely topics.
Oh, I hate it when it stop with the ads.
With his unorthodox and iconic classic manner, each episode features a panel of guests,
which will include celebrities, comedians, and experts as well as the American public through social media.
Topics will include the biggest presidential campaign flop, the greatest founding father in
winch invention, was history's greatest gain changer.
So the, it's, it starts this Thursday.
There's going to be two episodes Thursday night on the history channel.
I mean, absolutely in.
Thursday will be history's biggest political blunder at 10 Eastern,
followed by history's worst medical advice.
And then next week will be history's biggest frenemies.
I love the promotional poster, right?
Isn't it great?
Yes.
He's sitting in the, the, the lap of the Lincoln Memorial statue and he's like,
looks like he's caressing Lincoln's cheese and he's, he's got facial hair in this picture.
Like Ferguson does and says he's got a face for historical debates.
So get ready for that on Thursday now.
This looks brilliant.
Let us get into P.O.I.
P.O.I stands for Person of Interest.
It is a segment we do on this show where we take a person or an entity and we debate their greatness
or lack thereof.
It is my turn for P.O.I. this week and I'm just going to put it out there.
I want to talk about all story games.
We talked about the NFL Pro Bowl about four months ago,
but I kind of want to open this to all story games in general.
I'm sure we probably talked about this before, but it bears no name because tonight is the NBA All Star Game.
Why?
You realize the over under for this game.
It's like a, like, 370 cheese.
Like, there's no defense, especially the NBA All Star Game.
Like, I kind of like with the NHL did this year where there was like a 3 on 3 tournament,
like a round robin kind of a thing.
That was kind of cool for me.
By the way, your poll sitter for the day to 1 to 500 is Chase Elliott.
In the number 24 car, even though it says 9 on the screen, I'm very confused.
He is the youngest at 20 years old to be the poll sitter for the day to 1 to 500.
Oh, I think he started from the 24 because Jeff Gordon retired.
That's what it is.
But I just feel like if you buy a ticket to an All Star Game,
you would be better served on just playing the All Star Game on your computer at home.
Simming it on NBA Live.
It just, it drives me nuts.
There is no intrigue there, really.
Especially in the NBA, like in the, in the Major League baseball,
you're playing for something.
The winner of the Major League baseball,
All Star Game gets homefield for the World Series.
Now you can't quite, which I still think is a bit wonky,
because the majority of those people aren't even going to be involved in it.
But still, it makes, it makes the league compete.
You could do this in the NBA because it is a home in a way NBA finals.
You can't do it in the NFL because God knows that should just be a touch football game anyway.
And the NHL, the way they line it up, it wouldn't make any sense,
because it's USA versus the world.
So it's not conference versus conference anymore.
And even in the NFL, it's a, it's a school yard pickup.
Because Lord knows fashion is his passion.
Again, but, never not funny.
But see, you look at the other start of that coin.
When the NBA All Star Game was in our fairburg,
right down the street at the Death Star, the AT&T Stadium,
it's set the indoor attendance record.
Well, attendance, yeah, but ratings, viewership at home, it's,
that's one of those things where the beautiful people go to CNBC.
The cocaine and boom job crown come at and force just to,
I would say NBA not necessarily NHL, because at the NHL all
start, we can such a weird thing.
Like, it just kind of comes and goes.
Yeah, because the coverage, I think it was covered on like the NBC Sports Network or something.
Oh, it didn't even have, it didn't even have national coverage on the NFL.
The NBA All Star Games on TNT, I'm pretty sure.
When that's usually where the playoffs are.
So it's just like, I don't know, it's weird to me.
So it's almost like they don't have enough faith in their own product.
It's like, we know that not a lot of people care about this anymore.
Now, I kind of like what the MLS does with their all stars.
Like a couple of years ago when they were here, they had the All Star Games here in Dallas.
They have an All Star. They did. They played man you.
Oh, that's right.
Which I think that's kind of cool.
Yeah, you know, especially since that really is the world's game.
Yeah, you know, have one of the best teams in the world come play your all stars.
Totally on board with that.
And that'll get ratings.
That'll get people watching because international markets are involved in this.
Absolutely, but as you know, you have to deal with time zones and stuff too.
And yeah, am I still suffering a little bit of jet lag more than I thought I would be after
I had a business trip to Vegas for a couple days this past week?
They're really kicked my butt, do you?
I don't doubt it.
Maybe it's just because I'm getting older.
Well, it was kind of that kicked my butt.
It was kind of an extended turn in burn.
So yeah, kind of was had a great trip though.
Very productive trip.
Got to see some great people as well.
So the back to the matter of hand.
But I've never really been one to indulge in the All Star game,
Bruha on by any sport.
When I was younger and by that, I mean, like 80s early 90s.
When the NBA was like the NBA.
And you'd see Jordan and Pippin and Bird and Magic and all these guys.
When to me, it really, and maybe it's a generational thing.
But I couldn't, like, if I saw the All Stars right now,
I'd be like, oh, that's a dude in the NBA.
You know what, yeah, I see what you mean there.
Like, when you're raised on the Genesis and Super Nintendo
and you knew the roster of every major team, like the back of your hand.
That was, I shocked to know that Vince Carter still in the league.
Absolutely.
He is.
He's playing the Memphis.
Oh my god.
It was his birthday the other day.
And the reason I know it was his birthday the other day.
And they were talking about it on PCI.
That's the only reason I knew it was my god.
He's playing the Memphis 17th season or something crazy like that.
I said, like, wouldn't he on the inaugural team for the Raptors?
I believe he was.
Jeez.
And he was another, I think he was another straight out of high school to the NBA player.
My he would know that.
That would be Chad's cousin for those of you that don't know.
And he had a bracelet through here, right?
Yeah, so it was like half a season.
Yeah.
I just don't, I just don't think, and if they don't care as much.
Well, and in, and in all honesty, the only thing that really held my interest
about the NBA all star weekend was the skills competitions.
Let's face it.
Everybody to the NBA is gotten rid of some of them.
I know, but I mean, let's face it.
Everybody tuned in in the 90s to watch the slam dunk competition.
Let's be real.
There's a reason why the video game NBA jam exists.
Oh, yeah.
That's why Dominique Wilkins with the, with the windmill dunk.
I mean, that person, the foul wine.
And we, we're just not there anymore.
You know, it's, it's kind of in our rearview mirror.
But I've heard last night's was amazing.
So I'm not to watch some highlights later on.
And that's the damn shame is that you can't watch the whole thing.
You have to just catch the highlights because the networks aren't coming.
No, no, they showed it on TNT last night.
I didn't have an entirety.
It was live.
Oh, what?
I just didn't care to watch it.
Oh, okay, okay.
I thought you meant that.
Because I was carrying.
I was handling Valentine's Day with a lovely
and talented Mrs. Irvin who got me patting 10 on Blue Ray, which I was very excited about.
And so we watched patting 10 last night,
which she very much enjoyed to my knowledge.
But like back back in the 90s, yeah, like the NBA all star weekend.
The entire kitten caboodle was pretty much required to do it.
And you, and you gathered for it.
Yeah, I mean, it was like a Super Bowl party.
Now he's just like, oh, it's on.
Yeah, okay.
I'm probably shout out to Chris and Fini Shipley for having us over to their house for the Super Bowl last week.
Thanks again, God.
Appreciate them having us out.
I just man.
I don't know.
It doesn't have the allure, the intrigue.
It's not for lack of a better word.
It, I just, it doesn't seem as sexy as it used to.
You're right.
It's just the allure of it's gone for me.
And maybe it's just, maybe this is old man Rob talking.
I don't know.
Maybe it's just, it's, it's for a different age of people now.
Yeah.
Yeah, especially this being Kobe's last all star game.
It's kind of like that's, that's the last instantly recognizable name that we've grown up kind of following.
I forgot they did an MVP in the all star game.
So they were talking about, well, Kobe get this MVP.
And Kobe's, I already said he's like, I'm not really going for it.
But they give it to me that's fine.
I'm not going to hand it back.
Yeah, it would be his fifth or sixth, I think, of the all star game teeth.
I think he and Shaq actually were Kobe and VP's one year.
That was an awkward piece of video footage to all.
Oh, yeah, I'm sure that were.
And you did see Shaq's getting a, they're giving him a statue outside of the state of the center.
Yeah.
It's a him just, like, one of his shattering the backboard dunks.
Did they get revealed to him like on Kimmel or something?
Yeah, he didn't know.
Yeah, he thought Kimmel was doing a, yeah, he thought he was broken.
It isn't happening.
This is real.
Yeah, the question is they're going to put it next to the Kobe statue.
Okay.
I'm just saying I think it could kind of be funny if he was Duncan on Kobe.
Oops.
Sorry, sorry.
Now they need to have him Duncan on, on, on, on, on, the, the, the stilt in our town.
Up.
Shaan Bradley.
Yes.
Hey, man.
I have Shaan Bradley just cowering in a corner.
It's like bust the rim.
All right.
I think we've exhausted that, haven't we?
Yeah, pretty much.
All right.

And Jules Womick, chillin at the house tonight.
Indeed.
I have to be had a very nice lunch earlier today.
Let's talk a little NHL, shall we?
Let's do it.
Watch some clips of the All-Star game last week.
And look, I think it was a lot of fun.
It really did.
There's a weird one that was afraid.
We're going to as a super bowl.
Actually, no, it was two weeks ago.
I'm sorry.
I just, they all kind of blend.
I don't know.
It all becomes a blur.
Yeah.
Believe me, lately, especially.
It was, it's been one of those years where it's like,
at one hand, I'm like, my god, it's finally February.
But in the hand, I'm like, wait a minute, it's February.
Yeah, it's been a weird year for us.
But let's talk about NHL's standing.
Eastern Conference Atlantic Division
because most of the teams are on the Atlantic Ocean.
Toronto.
49 points.
They are 21 points out of first place.
They are three points behind them.
Well, I don't know how to celebrate.
The sobraise are four points behind Otorba.
Otorba, two points behind Montreal.
Montreal is six points behind Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay is two behind Boston, Boston,
one behind Detroit and Detroit is now three points behind
my beloved Florida Panthers, even though they've lost two in a row.
So, come on, Florida, let's get on this thing.
In the much of world's indivision.
I feel like I need to get a recording of Mikey saying that.
So, just play it, use that as the drop.
Why him?
I don't know, it's just, I can hear him in my head doing that.
We were going to use Columbus as America's favorite game show this year,
but they're actually ahead of Toronto's.
They have 52 points, but they are 32 points out of first place.
They are six points behind Philly, Philly is two points behind the Carolina hurricane.
They are three points behind Pittsburgh,
Pittsburgh, a point behind New York, New York is a point behind Jersey.
Jersey, three points behind the Rangers and the Rangers are 16 points behind Washington.
Washington is killing it.
I want to say bet, number, yeah, they have 84 points.
They are the best in the league right now.
The closest to them is your Dallas stars with 77.
Really?
Yes.
Dallas has had a nice little surge this last week.
Let's go ahead and talk about the central division in the Western
Conference that has no Eastern or Western.
Winnipeg 53 points.
They are 24 points out of first place.
If you can do the math, you can figure out who's first in the division.
There are three points behind Minnesota, Minnesota, five back on Nashville.
Nashville's a point behind Colorado.
Colorado is nine points back on St. Louis, but Chicago and Dallas currently tied
four first in the division at their Chicago loses three in a row.
Dallas wins three in a row.
Funny how that works out.
So your Dallas stars trying to make something happen this year, sir.
Good for them.
And in the Pacific division, because they're on the Pacific.
Edmonton, 50 points.
They are 19 points out of first place, but they're three points behind Calgary, Calgary,
three behind Ven, who is tied with Arizona.
Both of them are six points back on Anachim.
Anachim, one back on San Jose, and San Jose is six back on the L.A.
Kings.
You okay with that?
Anachim?
What is this a black-eyed piece on?
I want to be international.
And it's funny how we're kind of given them crap about the name of their division,
but it made a lot more sense than like the NFC East when Dallas was in it.
Well, because they've redecorated for, for, I know I'm worries, but it still doesn't
it was just strange called it's something else.
I was like St. Louis being in the NFC West, which now they are.
It's going to be an ally again, but at least at least the NHL's makes sense from the game.
And can I make an official prediction within the next two years,
the Raiders will move to Vegas, but I don't know how they're going to work the main out.
Because being in Vegas last week, I want to send a quick shout out to some friends of mine.
I got to see my friend Helen, I got to see her sister Debbie, I got to hang out with
friend of the show, Armando Garcia, and they all showed me where the stadium's going to be.
There's already plans. Really?
It's going to be right next to the Thomas and Max Center at UNLV.
And there's a huge piece of land, which surprises me and just,
no kidding, I was like, how is that, how is that town, not landlock yet?
I'm telling you, they keep finding stuff out there in a desert,
beautiful weather, God the weather could have been better.
And they were like, you picked the right week, brother.
You really didn't pick it, can I get chosen?
Oh yeah, all right, let's move on to some music talk tomorrow night, sir.
The Grammys tomorrow night.
Oh, I'm only I cared.
Hosted by the LL Cool J, I'm, I'm rowing, hey, I'm rowing, are you really?
I'm going to do it.
Dude, the Adele's going to be on.
Oh, yeah, there is that.
So, very excited.
Oh, we didn't have a tonight's that other deal.
I hope I haven't missed it.
Dude, hold on, I gotta do something here real quick.
Cause tonight, what do you know, a channel BBC America is?
I should, here it is.
If I say, aren't they doing the Baptist right now?
Yeah, but isn't the Adele thing tonight?
There it is.
Adele live in London, okay.
So we're going to roll tape.
And I'm assuming the Baptist aren't live, though, right?
Oh, because it started at 6.30, that would be 12.30 in the morning in England.
Oh, yeah, yeah, good.
All right, so we got it, we're good, all right.
Cause I already missed the radio city music call show.
I don't want to miss another one.
So, that's tonight coming up at 10 o'clock Eastern.
So if you want to set your DVRs, if you're listening live,
if you're listening on the archive or on iTunes, sorry.
But I'm going to watch.
I may not know about 80% of the artists performing,
but you never know.
And it's posted by the old CoolJay, who you know, my huge fan of.
Oh, yep, I am as well.
If for no other reason, he's doing a great job hosting
lipstick battle.
I'll tell you that though, the way he signs off,
the knock him out, the knock him out, the knock him out.
Oh, you're the host, you're not on the show.
Yeah, you're like, you're talking to yourself.
Yeah.
And Chrissy, Chrissy's eating.
I like her a little bit more every week.
She grow it on your finally.
Oh, she didn't see someone.
She's just so dang likable.
I just can't see.
She's funny.
Yeah, she's really, she's genuinely funny.
Sometimes not intentionally, but she's genuinely funny.
And she's so cute.
You can't help it, not liker.
Beyonce will be doing a summer stadium tour,
which they announced right after the halftime show last week.
I will not be in attendance.
She is playing at the death star, by the way.
Of course she is.
And vocalist, here's your chance.
Stone Temple pilots are holding auditions for a new vocalist.
Yeah, hopefully it will not be a reality show on CBS.
But I'm just saying.
How awful is this idea?
God is bad as the annexes thing was.
I'm just, just don't be this don't tell the pilot anymore.
Just don't be the dairy sharon of Stone Temple pilot.
Be something else for the love of all that is holy.
Just call the band something else and play in a game.
So this guns and roses thing plays itself out,
which is going to take about a week.
And just do some more of a velvet revolver stuff.
Yeah, or slashes snake pit or something.
Yeah.
Anything.
Put Stone Temple pilots to rest.
And a rumor, very strong that somebody's in the studio right now recording his third album.
His third?
Yeah.
Unorthodox shootbox was his second album, sir.
Do ups and hooliggins.
Unorthodox shootbox.
That's the list.
It's that it's that voice to men's thing.
Because you got to remember, four years went between Koolie High Harmony and two.
God, but they stayed in the limelight so well.
And kept themselves relevant that they just rode that wave between albums.
And that's what Bruno Mars has been doing.
Well, plus uptown funk wasn't even his project.
That was Ron's album.
Yeah.
And he's been posting on that for two years now.
I love this song.
He's greatness.
I'm sorry.
I know there are people that like to
They say him.
I think he's greatness.
He's great.
He's amazing.
And I don't have any rights.
His own stuff.
I don't have a whole heck of a lot of good stuff to say about modern artist.
Because they're just not my demographic, but this guy appeals to me.
This guy's stuff appeals to me.
And I really can't say that about are the anybody else outside of Adele.
Now you get Bruno Mars and Adele working on something together.
World will collide.
They did, sir.
What?
One of the tracks on her album.
He co-wrote.
Does he talk about does he sing on it though?
Does he sing on it though?
That's what I'm saying.
I'd like to see them perform something together.
And apparently there's a new
Carpool karaoke with Elton John.
Yeah, I saw a little telling you.
I saw a little piece of it.
Just keep doing these James Corden.
Just keep doing it.
Yeah.
You've written your ticket to the greatness hotel.
Music new releases in places you get in music new releases this Friday.
Mavis Staples.
Real new album called Living on a High Note.
That's great.
She always, like, is she always been on that level?
The greatest of Mavis.
And this guy!
How to go a little obscure.
I didn't want to go a mainstream.
I mean, this was the little I hit, but I don't want to go the one
everybody knew.
He's got to cover Alabama.
I need to get a hold of.
I don't believe it.
Wait for it.
Shout out to the friend of the show.
Colleen Frick.
Murphy.
Frewell sir, big name.
Shout out to Tammy Hart.
Still got nothing.
Seriously?
Oh, okay.
Rick Springfield, rocket science.
He had, I'm telling you his cover album.
His version of Mr. Mr. Sproken wings
is amazing.
Really, he did a cover of Broken Wings.
He did a cover album.
But got this was six, seven years ago.
It's really good.
He toured it.
I'll be darned.
Simple plan for the kids with the clothes in the hair.
Sorry, I had a new album taking one for the team.
Wolfmother.
Do you know I'm called Victoria's?
And because America in the world demanded it.
Oh no.
Yoko, oh no.
Oh god.
It's called, yes, I'm a witch too.
We knew that already.
Oh, for the love of everything, holy.
So if you need something to annoy your cats for 45 minutes,
if you want to get your annoying neighbors to move out,
put that on blast.
Oh gosh, that woman should not sing.
Now, don't forget, next Sunday, we will be doing our WWE
Fastlane pre-show at 70 certain four Pacific.
I'm short of the normal show because of the paper view stars.
Seven.
The last paper view stop on the road to wrestle,
maybe I need.
You can believe it's almost time.
So let's combine sports and entertainment and talk a little bit.
A boot wrestling.
It was announced Monday afternoon on Twitter.
Daniel Bryan says that due to medical conditions,
he will be retiring from professional wrestling.
I'm active immediately.
Wow.
I was receiving many texts and many private messages on Facebook about this.
Until he was on television, and we're going to talk about that here in just a minute.
I thought it was work.
Like, it was there was way too much going on at the time.
But he got a half an hour at the end of RAW.
If you watched RAW, your DVR, and you didn't have it set until about nine,
ten, forty, Eastern, you lost most of it.
Oh man.
Like, I was glad I was watching live and had caught up
for all the commercials and everything.
So I could set my DVR longer and I had to reset it twice.
So I might disinend it.
This is not anything anytime soon.
I'd have been mad.
I'd have been mad on a wet hand.
I think a lot to eat.
So there is that.
We're going to talk more about that in RAW talk.
Your next Stone Cold podcast will be tomorrow night after RAW.
Frenchy.
That could be interesting.
He has been on this, oh, excuse me.
It's just a yearling.
We, he has been on the show before, but it was a very, very brief interview
that he interviewed Frenchy and Frenchy's tour bus.
But it was a good interview.
You know I'm a big fan of the big show.
But Paul White.
Yes.
So I'm looking forward to that.
Somebody was in town this weekend.
In our town, in our town.
Right at the road.
Take a sip of my beverage.
How do we always talk about when we play this song?
What do we always talk about?
Who do we always talk about?
Oh, we talk about, oh yeah, okay.
This weekend was Dallas Comic Con.
And as the rumors stated, Steven Amel during his panel
had it interrupted by Stardust.
As your Stardust puts on Twitter last week
that some jerk is getting ring ready again.
Some jerk is getting ready.
Or he called him some idiot.
There's WrestleMania rumors here, sir.
Really.
Steven Amel Stardust too.
Because it started with Steven Amel saying, hey, Stardust.
Cause you know, Stardust still has this slammy.
Yeah, he boosted it, didn't he?
You say, give me back my slammy and we'll auction.
We talked about it in the show a couple of weeks ago.
But they were going to auction off this slammy to benefit this kid that's got stage four cancer.
Well, apparently the angle is back underway.
Here's my thing.
If we're going to do this at WrestleMania, he's proven he can go.
Uh-huh.
Pull the tag match part of it out.
Because Arrow is going to wrap up filming within the next two to three weeks.
They'll have two to three weeks to work on this match.
And I don't think it's physically possible for Steven Amel to be more fit than he is.
I think he has negative body fat.
I'm not real sure.
You may be right.
And this is a guy that takes the business seriously.
This is a guy that respects the business.
I think you could make something really, really good out of this.
I think you can make this as good as he wants to make it.
I don't want to make it.
I don't want to make it good.
There's one thing you know about that dude.
He'll do anything happen.
No, he doesn't.
And I'm going to say something.
And I'm going to talk about this in pre-show.
If you haven't watched this past week's Arrow, it's getting real.
This is, yeah, this was, this is one of those episodes where you're like, oh dear.
It's all I'm saying.
And we're also two weeks away from the return of Gotham.
Finally, two weeks from tomorrow.
It's on leave day, yeah.
So, let's talk a little bit about raw shall we?
Hmm, okay.
Did you watch last week or this week?
No.
Lesner is now changing the bit with the shirt.
The shirt is now matching the colors of the city.
So they were in the, the, the suplex city shirts.
They were in Seattle.
Okay, okay, okay.
They were in Seattle.
So the street sign was like a blue with blue and green like the Seahawks.
Okay, okay, okay, I see what you mean now.
It's pretty neat.
It looks good.
And I'm going to put this out there.
You don't have to agree with it.
But roll with me for just a minute.
Okay, the social outcasts.
How long has he slater been a punchline?
Since he got here.
Who says we can't just go NWL with this thing and just have them just beating people down
and get something behind this bit.
So you talking about go Nexus with it.
But take it to where Nexus should have gone.
Okay, okay, like have them stop being these clowns.
Although the unsmacked animal, we'll skip ahead a little bit.
Curtis and Adam were going to make a tag team and Curtis wanted them to use their last names.
I think about it.
I'm trying Curtis.
What is?
Panics kids last name.
Axel, okay, and Adam rose.
Oh dear God.
Funny, funny.
Yeah, but they don't want to lawsuit, right?
So I totally blacked out.
I'm like, what other last name?
I don't want that one, I don't want the other one.
Oh well, whatever.
But just do, stop making these guys a punchline.
Do something with this?
That would be a smart move.
I mean, if you make them world beaters and make them a force to content with,
if you want to push them, I don't know, I just don't know.
But you're going to do that.
You're really going to have to change the bit with bow dollars.
Yeah, and who do you make them out piece?
Do you want to say put Heath Slater in front and center as your mouthpiece?
It depends on who can can work true dark heel the best.
That's what who out of that group could work the mic the best.
It would either be Slater or Rose.
That's one of the two.
I think you'd have to be Rose.
But do something with these guys.
These guys have talent.
They may not have the best charisma in the world,
but stop making them into the gestures of this thing.
Well, then if you make them a force to reckon with,
then people will be forced to take them seriously.
You know, nobody really took Barrett seriously until next has happened.
Then that entire dog, no, because he can't stay healthy.
Well, because they broke up Nexus.
Nexus was no longer Nexus.
And I just want to say this, Dean Ambrose may be the most entertaining thing
that company has right now.
I'll, I, I, I have difficulty disagreeing with.
And don't turn him heel.
I fast like, please don't, not yet.
We did have a Dudley boys heel turn.
That didn't take long.
And it's just, it's such a weak premise.
And it's so predictable.
Just let these guys be.
No, I will tell you, speaking of the Dudley's,
and I believe they should already be in the Hall of Fame.
Rumors of who's going to induct the freeburns.
Kevin Bonner, really.
The rumors are very, very strong right now
that that's good that the freeburns are going in this year.
And Kevin will induct them.
It makes sense.
That's got intended, it's sir.
And let's talk about the Daniel Bryan thing for just a minute.
Um, let me get to have to move this stuff down here.
We're going to go there, I go.
First of all, class act to the end.
This was 30 minutes of television gold.
He said, I just want to address the elephant in the room.
Just so everybody knows, I did shave the beard up and cut my hair.
And he donated his hair to something called Wigs for kids.
So it's like locks of love.
Yeah, but this is for kids that are cancer patients and they don't pay a dime.
So, and of course, they're in Seattle.
So what better place for him to retire than a stone's throw from his hometown.
Yeah, Bertie Washington.
I didn't even think about that.
And God bless you, Seattle.
That crowd was on fire.
He made a reference to, to Bree.
Like, you know, they were doing the guest chat.
He said something about what, what Bree and the, the crowd started.
That's what she said.
Oh God, brilliant.
I got a little choked up watching this.
I'm not going to lie to you really.
This was an amazing segment.
I hated to see this happen, but you know, like he knew it was time.
Five concussions.
Was it as difficult as watching the edge retirement?
One in one.
That's that to me that was, because I haven't seen this one, but I watched the edge retirement.
And that was a pitiful look this up later.
I mean, it was, it was really, really good.
It's, it was very well done.
I would love to see the company do something with him either backstage or
maybe even as a trainer, because the guy's got too good of a mind for the business.
I think it's tough enough, maybe.
And he could still be, you know, with his wife on the road.
They're talking about trying to start a family.
He mentions that in the promo.
This was, this was an amazing piece of television.
And then really broke, and I'm assuming they broke a paper between them.
You didn't see anybody else.
I think Breed did come to the ring, but everything else happened after Raw
one off the air on the network.
Okay.
But they had to pull one piece out of it and we're going to talk about that.
Okay, I was going to hear it in just a moment, because this is a weird weird situation.
That happened after Raw one off the air on the network, which if you watched it live,
it was there, but they went back and edited it.
So we're going to talk a little just one couple of quick TNA notes before we get the smack down.
Davy Richards out with an ACL injury.
So the proposed wolves beer money program has been put on the shelf.
Geez, I like the wolves, but come on guys.
You really did hit your wagon to the wrong company, just saying.
Broke Adams, who you might have known is Brooke Tessmacher in TNA.
She is pregnant with her first child, so congratulations there, really.
And on the other side of that spectrum, Rosa Mendez gave birth to a baby girl this week
from WWE.
Oh, really?
Yep, so congratulations to her.
Awesome, Kong.
After she's been released from the company after the skirmish in Britain,
teasing a WWE return by putting a lot of her old promo videos up on Instagram.
A lot of her old promo videos.
Remember when she was karma, almost promo videos they made.
Okay, about a month, months, months for the for the for the two seconds.
She was in WWE.
So there's that.
John Cena will be the honorary pacest car driver next Sunday for Daytona.
So he's got that going for him.
And in a move.
I'm a little interested in this.
Remember, he's been fucking seen has been out because he's doing that Fox show American grit.
Yeah, it debuts April 14th against SmackDown.
It's going head to head with SmackDown.
Ha, is that a jerk move by Fox kind of, and how does Cena not have say in this?
And not Fox sports, Fox proper.
Now Fox sports southwest.
I don't get that.
Now Fox march one.
Local channel four, Fox.
Katie W. Fox.
If you're, if you're seeing a how upset are you about it.
Well, it was about like how I showed up on SmackDown.
Like one's a quarter anyway.
So cares.
And in about like how they were always putting the finalies of
total divas with against the paper.
I give the paper view.
Yeah, don't get that.
That never made sense to me.
All right, let's talk about the, uh, tie this on the old thing.
So after, of course, Rod goes off the air, uh, we talked about them continuing the
Daniel Bryan celebration off air.
All the wrestlers came down, lined the aisle.
As they go to leave, Vince goes to leave.
Titus grabs Vince's arm with it was because described as a playful grab.
Vince turns around is anything but playful about it.
Suspens him 90 days is a 90 or 60.
It started out 90.
Stay with me.
Okay.
People tried to play the race card at first and that got squashed.
Many, there were a lot of reports that were saying what this was was the real
authorities message to send to the locker room about being more serious about the business.
That has been neither confirmed nor denied.
But it comes out later, Rod and Titus, Titus has taken the high road.
He said, look, if I'm suspended, I'll, I'll, I'll serve my punishment.
What has come out is what he was actually doing is he was trying to help Vince move to the
side till it's Stephanie by first from a chivalry standpoint.
So now the after further investigation, quote unquote,
it's been reduced to 60 days.
There's a lot of people in the locker room that are not happy about this.
They're saying this is a crap deal.
Because with scene out, Titus is your face of charity in the company right now.
So it's a very interesting dichotomy on both sides of what's going on.
I haven't watched the footage. I can't tell you exactly what happened.
Do I think that the actual authority may have overreacted?
I absolutely do. I just saw it. And you can't really, from the camera angle that is all over
YouTube. It's, it's, it's very quick clips like seven to nine seconds long. I mean, it's literally
the logo still on the screen where they got. And all you see is a hand reach out and then Vince
quickly kind of, he's forced to stop and alter his path of travel. Okay. And then it cuts off.
So you do just kind of see Titus's hand. You're assuming it's Titus's and because you can't see his face.
Right. Reach out and grab Vince like right by his elbow and Vince kind of stops to look at
him like what the heck. And then that's where he goes, you know, it fades out. I mean, so it's
you do kind of have to question, okay, why would you do that? Well, but I, I get what Titus was trying
to do. If, if that was true, the intent, I understand part of it from the company's standpoints,
but this was the wrong messenger. It's, it's kind of, you did the right thing, but you did it the wrong way.
Yeah. But I also think, I understand the message. I think this was the wrong messenger. Yeah.
You know, I'm not going, you know, I'm not going to tell somebody how to run their business.
But this was kind of weird to me. But again, Titus taking the high road,
which knowing what I know of Titus O'Neill, this doesn't surprise me.
This guy is from all accounts in absolute class act.
This is just a weird situation. Yeah. So
what sucks is even though it's been reduced to 60 days. Guess what's inside 60 days.
WrestleMania exactly. So it is kind of what it is. Well, but did he, were they,
did he have a match-aligned up for WrestleMania? They haven't even finished the card yet. That's what I'm saying.
We've not got time. So that may be a non-factor anyway. So
that you could put him in the Andre, the giant Memorial Battle Royal. True.
Which early odds aren't favorites is Brahmstroman. They are getting him, apparently he, they're
changing the plans and it will not be him that takes on the Undertaker, but they're not saying who.
But he is apparently he's primed for a monster push, no pun intended. So
just one quick SmackDown note because man SmackDown is getting harder for me to deal with.
And I don't,
that bad. I just don't know how to save this without saying it.
Until a month and a half ago, I had no problems with Mara Rinalo. I really didn't. I thought his
work with Showtime was really good, but I can't get past it on SmackDown. No.
It's like I can't get past it and Kings getting worse. It's getting more. It's
Hackneyton cliched. Like every line they're giving King just falls.
And I love the King. I love Jerry Lawler. I've been a Jerry Lawler fan for literally decades.
Give this guy something that is worthy of who he is. It's just, it's hard. SmackDown's hard
for me to watch. I just, I don't know how we remedy this Mara Rinalo thing because I don't think
I think he's only got two settings and it's on and off. It's just, I don't know, it's just a weird fit
for me. And honestly, I don't know anybody that believes otherwise. Because we know quite a few fans.
So we're just going to have to see how this all works out. But remember a couple of weeks ago,
we were talking about how I told them to take it easy with the social outcasts and the whole
Crimson Drew, the red dragon thing. They did this week. Now he's the Crimson Wearable.
Do something with the social outcasts. Please. Because I like all four of these guys. I really do.
But making them a laughing stock is not going to help you push them.
This is not a case of tearing something down to build it back up. Agreed. Yeah.
And I don't know why we can't find something for Adam Rose that works. Because that guy's got talent.
Yeah. And by all accounts and if you watch that, that was an ESPN, especially did on NXT,
he's a quality human being. So I don't know.
Did he grab Vince's arm one day and take him off? I don't know. So there's that.
Anything that you want to bring up that you did you'd heard or you want to talk about?
No, the the tie to thing was the thing that I think was the most interesting to think.
To talk about outside of Daniels. It's just such a weird situation. And I don't
I don't quite know. It's just just one of those things that just seems you're cutting off your
nose despite your face. But again, tie this took the high road. Yeah. Which again, I don't expect him not to.
All right. Let's talk some movie talk. Shall we? Let's do it. Box office numbers.
You'll know what we're laughing in a second. You'll probably you'll probably figure it out relatively
quickly. If you follow, you follow the show.
Dropping out of the top 10 this week, the finest hours drops from 7 to 11, 2.9 million dollars,
three weeks, 23.4 million dollars. Oh, what? Something tells me they're losing money on this.
Dropping from 6 to 13 this week, sur a pride in prejudice and zombies.
Oh, 2.5 million dollars. Oh, 20, 8 million dollar budget.
Two weeks, 9.4 million dollars. Yeah. Dropping from 10 to 14, and it's second or
right. It's four weeks really for dirty grandpa. $2.2 million dollars, four weeks, 33 million dollars.
Jeez. Dropping from 9 to 10 this week, the boy. But it's the boy. The boy that does me.
I can't do walking anymore. To just under $3 million dollars, four weeks, 30.8 million dollars
on a $10 million dollar budget. Tell me, it's insidious. Meets, Gremlins. It really is.
Dropping from 8 to 9 right along to $4.1 million dollars, five weeks, $82.7 million dollars
on a $40 million dollar budget. The choice drops from 5 to 8, $5.2 million dollars, two weeks, just
a little over 13 and a quarter million dollars, averaging just under $2,000 dollars a screen.
Yeah. Dropping from 3 to 7, Star Wars, the Force Awakens, six, another 6.2 million, nine
weeks, 914.8 million dollars. We're all the wide totals. I don't think it's going to hit the
two-seven, sir. You don't? No. Total worldwide right now, 2.026 billion. Unless they do the re-released
later this year before row one, I just don't think it's going to hit that 2.7. I don't know,
it's 2.627, something like that. Dropping from the silver medal to 6th place, hail Caesar,
6.6 million dollars, two weeks, 22.4 million dollars, 21.2 million dollars, 22 million dollar
budget. So the colon brothers are going to be okay. Zoolander 2, debut in fourth place this week. Uh-oh.
15.7 million dollars is your total on that. I haven't checked. I'm looking up the rotten
tomatoes rating right now. 23% out. Yeah. How to be single, Dave using the bronze medal
position. So I actually kind of want to see this, but it's given killed by critics. Uh, 47%
rotten tomatoes. 18.8 million dollars, 38 million dollar budget. So it might do okay. It might
make some money. Kung Fu Panda 3 drops from the gold medal to the silver medal this week,
19.7 million dollars, three weeks, 94 million dollars. And I want to say that this wasn't a huge
was not a huge budget, but I don't have the budget here on me. For, for, come, put it
out for Kung Fu Panda 3. Yes, sir. Let me see if I can find it and winning the weekend. And I just
want to, I want to say this right now. I was almost in another repeat position of smartest man
alive because for Deadpool, let's just not even bury the lead. I put the overunder for this movie
at $150 million dollars opening weekend. People thought I was out of my mind. 58 million dollar
budget. Now remember Kung Fu Panda 3 made 19.7 million dollars on a $145 million dollar
budget for Kung Fu Panda 3. Okay, let me make the money back on Blue Ray for sure. Deadpool.
Number, Kung Fu Panda 3, 19.7. That's the, that's the mark to beat. God bless you Ryan Reynolds.
$135.1 million dollars. Domestic. I'm so happy right now. It only beat 4 in by 10 million
dollars worldwide $260.2 million dollars. So it's already beaten Kung Fu Panda worldwide.
Oh yeah. I don't know what Kung Fu Panda's worldwide. 256. 256. Okay. It has, it has made more money.
They 2038. 53. 59. 67. 73. 78. 81. 83. 85. 87. 9 people won. I'm down into 15th place and it still
has made more money than all those combined. I mean, all I'm saying is iTunes is exclusive number
one and three. If you don't know, you better find out. That's all I'm saying.
Great job. So excited about this movie. Doing so well. I gotta go see it again. I have to
because I know I missed stuff. We need to see it in nine mags. Oh, you mean land. So let's move on a
little bit. If I talk to you about a film coming in April called Hardcore Henry, I just saw
this trailer. The audio was down because the friend of the show Brandon Leonard posted it on
this Facebook page and I was like, you have my attention. So you've heard of what this is. I didn't
know anything about it. I just thought, but you see, you get the bit. It looks like a first person
shooter. The entire film is told in a first person perspective. It is indeed.
Hardcore Henry. It looks like some kind of a bionic experiment or something that just
cuts loose. First person action film from the eyes of Henry who's resurrected from death with
no memory. He must discover his identity and save his wife from a warlord with a plan to
bioengineers soldiers. Tim Roth is in this. Haley Bettitus in this. Charltoe Coplie is in this.
Yes. The entire film is shot first person and the trailer is ridiculous. This is not
look amazing. That looks wicked. It looks kind of cheesy, but intentionally cheesy. It looks
really, really fun. I mean, this is definitely innovative. I don't know this has ever been done
this way before. Directed by Ilya Nyshular, who is this is the first feature besides an
a video short that this person has as directed. So yeah, check out the trailer when you get a second.
I'm talking to the royal you're not just because you just did, but this looks really cool.
Talk a little bit about Ghostbusters. Apparently a teaser trailer is out there. I've not seen it yet.
But this film will feature the Echo 2 as well, which will be a motorcycle. Unlike in the real
Ghostbusters animated series where it was an auto gyro. But I've seen a picture of the
motorcycle looks pretty cool. And apparently somebody just posted this on social media. Okay.
Do you remember the talk show that Vankman had in Ghostbusters 2? You know the role was supposed to be
today. Yeah. Johnny Depp is going to star in one of the Universal Monster reboots.
Oh, you're welcome internet. Geez, he's going to be the invisible man, sir.
Is he getting the promise high as starting Depp? I'll do it. It's just it's kind of odd to me that
you're going to put one of the most recognizable leading men in the role of a guy who's not going to be
seen for the majority of the film. Maybe they're going to do it like they did with the Kevin Bacon thing.
Yeah, but you didn't really see him all that much. He was, he was, why did you kind of see him,
though, like a little bit, like you could see him, but they couldn't. He, no, he was either in
bandages or he was like, just he was just walking like, you know, muscle, you know, he was missing his
his outer dermal layer. So that seems kind of strange to me. Your next Transformers film June 8,
2018 after the one they're filming now, it's going to be a bumblebee spinoff film. Oh, good lord. And it's
opening opposite of the next Godzilla movie. Somebody needs to have their head examined.
Can somebody talk to Michael Bay, please? Real it in sir. Real it in. Now this next story, I know you're
good at the end on and I haven't even talked to you about this because I wanted to save it for the show.
Okay. There's a new movie coming called Death House. I believe it's either this year or next year.
Let me get that verified for you. All I'm going to tell you is consider a 2017 is your is your release year.
I'm just going to give you a cast. Okay. Kane Hawter, Jason, Robert England,
Freddie, Danny Trejo, Michael Barryman, I'm sure that is. Dang it, you're going to be looking
up. Because there's a there's a there's a recurring theme here.
You I know he was in Kuku's nest. He was in the devil's rejects.
I got to see this guy. Okay. D Wallace, the howling, Bill Mosley. Not sure that is either.
Barbara Krampton, reanimator, Doug Bradley, Kevin Furi, Camille Keaton, Don Sharks.
This is the expendables with horror. Not the icons, but the actors.
Okay. It takes place in a subterranean government facility that holds humanity's worst
characters on nine levels like the nine levels of Dante's house that get freed with a super
natural twist and two agents have to track them all down. Oh my god. The original writer of this,
one gunner Hansen. Really? Yes. It's going to be directed by Harrison Smith.
Six degrees of hell can't dread the fields. Something that's called garlic and gunpowder.
Sounds like a lot of fun. Sounds like a vampire film. Zombie killers elephants graveyard.
But yeah. Oh, yeah. You've got my attention. Oh, okay. That, that, okay. Michael Barryman.
Okay. I know that is. He was, he was the guy in weird science. He said, can we keep this
between us? I'd like to keep that teaching job. This is something that I read this. I'm like,
oh, Chad's going to die and he hears this. Yeah. He's mainly known for the hills have eyes.
So there's that. Oh gosh. I'm all over this. I want to preface this next story.
The music has to be played this way. I'm going to wait till the vocals come in.
Because I think the very first line of this song really emotes my feelings
towards this next story. Please. Go ahead, Annie.
That's the question I want to know. Oh, that's who Doug Bradley is. Travis Fimmel.
It's going to start in a remake of all quiet on the western front.
Really? I'm scared of the crap out of me.
Is, I mean, I know we say this a lot on this show, but it's nothing sacred.
Incidentally, Doug Bradley was pinhead in Hellwreaser. There you go.
I'm still going down the cast, finding everybody's sitting me on this.
Well, okay. This, because there's been a couple of versions of this, right? No, there's only been one.
I thought there was two. I don't know.
Now, we start making on the waterfront. My head might explode.
That could have sworn there was two versions of all quiet on the western front.
I thought there was one in black and white in one in color.
Yes, there is. Yeah, there was one in 1930. That's the original. Yes.
That was the one that I'm familiar with.
Had Richard Thomas and Ernest Borgna and it was done in 79. That's the one I watched in school.
We don't need another one. No, I don't think we do.
Danny McBride from many, many things. Of course, one of my favorite shows on HBO.
You know what I'm talking about, don't you?
He's bound it down. You are correct. He isn't talks for alien covenant.
What?
Probably not in the same vein, but he's a good actor. I never would have picked him for that.
Bob Eiger, Disney CEO, has verified.
The Han Solo film is coming in 2018, so it is happening. I thought that was kind of like a foregone conclusion.
It was rumor. There were short lists. There were long lists, but I got verified it this week.
Also, because it will never go away.
Get ready for frozen the Broadway musical. That makes total sense to me.
And you're ready for it. You knew that was inevitable.
It's coming in 2018. That was inevitable. And it will be a huge success.
Really? You're welcome in that.
Because you knew where to about to play, let it go. I don't have that. There's a reason.
So, I know you're a fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog. Not as much as my wife and my daughter is,
but I am a fan. Get ready for the CGI live action combination film coming in 2018.
So we're going chipmunks with Sonic now. I guess great.
As long as they don't call them Lord of the Rings, I'll be in the top of Scott.
I think Peter Jackson and Jay are all tokens. They're going to sue somebody if they try.
Warner Brothers is also setting the Ready Player One release for 2018.
I got to get reading that book. I'm about 30 pages in.
And this is still under Spielberg. Under the Helmsmanship of Spielberg.
And apparently they're saying they're getting all the rights they need. Good.
Because there's a lot of rights they've got to get to this thing.
Like I said, I'm 30 pages in. I'm going. How are they going to do this?
Did you enjoy the Masters of the Universe?
I enjoyed the poster that the destroyers and did because America and the world demanded it.
We're rebooting it with the aforementioned Mick G directing. Oh boy.
I mean, if you, you give me a good Masters of the Universe movie. I'm all over it.
I think you've got a better shot in this day and age of the technology with the technology
and without the acting chops of the Thespian known as Dolph Lungren.
You know, he's apparently there doing the new brain brain games on the Ashland Geographic.
And he's doing the commercial for it. Very funny commercial.
Because when I think brain games, I think Dolph Lungren. Dude, the guy's got a PhD in chemistry.
But the guy can't speak.
And his native language, I'm sure he's great.
But that native language ain't English.
So you're going to get that coming soon.
Oh boy. Well, Reserved Judgment.
Story in the Rock.
Oh my.
Yeah, that's just conjecture. There's nothing to verify that.
I didn't even see if it was story triple-aged today.
But speaking, that would be fun.
But that little little little little too old to play.
But speaking of the rock, Hannibal Burris, the comedian has joined the cast of Pay Watch.
That he's heading up.
And it's very funny.
And it works very funny.
And we have seen the first official pre-production artwork for this.
The, uh, sports who to carry, and I carry Elkie Boofy.
Yeah.
Although an excellent guess.
That boy's three.
This was your lead.
So my phone for a long time.
It is in pre-production.
And Lawrence and Smith are both in.
Well, if they're not, then you may as well not even do it.
Fox is doing a lethal weapon series, sir.
Don't put anything past Hollywood.
That's a TV show though.
That's apples and oranges.
So there's that.
All right.
Moving new releases in places.
You see movie new releases this week.
Kind of a, uh, creepy.
Creepy double header.
And then true stories and kind of sort of true stories this week.
First up in brace of the serpent.
The history of the relationship between
Kanamakate and Amazonian Shaman and the last survivor of his people and two scientists
who work together over the course of 40 years to search the Amazon for a sacred healing plant.
This is, uh, this looks like it's, it's, it's looks like it's all in black and white.
And it does not look like the feel good movie of the year.
Ha, ha, ha, just saying.
Also this week race, which we saw the trailer form when we did our screening of
Suffragette, if you remember correctly, sir.
I had to remind me on that one.
This is this, this Jesse Owens.
Oh, oh, yeah, that look.
That look really good.
Jason's two decades is in this.
Clare about hootin is in this.
A man to crew, Jeremy Irons, William Hurt, Stephen James is playing Jesse Owens.
Uh, Tony Curry is in this.
Jeremy Irons is going to be in this?
Yes, sir.
He's a busy guy.
Is that, I think it is, is that this?
Oh, not a second.
Oh, it's definitely just saw the Ghost Pusters thing that you were talking about earlier.
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
Apparently it's a teaser for the trailer that's dropping March 3rd.
Oh, okay.
Uh, let's see.
Uh, Stephen James has been in, he was in Selma.
He played John Lewis.
Uh, let's see if there's anything else to do.
Who was in the, when the game stands tall?
Which is Rassy the next generation.
Which is not about triple age.
Correct.
And my babysitter's a vampire.
It was a TV series that he was in.
God.
Okay, that's not, I just saw Shani.
And I thought it was that Shani, but it's not.
She was also like your smile.
Uh, Glenn Termin.
When we make fan of us also in this.
I'm not sure who that is.
Really?
Glenn Termin.
He was, um, he might be a thing where I know the face, but don't know the name.
Just like the, the cast.
You remember the, the army guy that was, the dad on a different world?
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
I believe he was Whitney's dad, Whitney.
Uh, don't get me lied.
It was.
And also the witch, which many people are pitching as one of the darkest films
in a long time, um, get you, uh, get you an official synopsis on this.
There will be an iTunes exclusive coming latest week for that.
A family in 1630s New England is torn apart by the forces of witchcraft,
black magic and possession.
So another feel good film.
Yeah, you know, because the kids like it.
DVD and blue right new releases in places you get DVD and blue right new releases this Tuesday.
Steve Jobs, you're welcome internet.
You see that doesn't go the other way.
You're insane.
And I bring it right back around.
See, you are insane.
Also the 33 about the Chilean miners, that looks good.
And if you haven't watched, uh, Tim Hawkins is that's the worst.
You might want to check that out.
Okay.
Could never remember, for instance, the Chilean miners.
Oh, no.
You watched it with me.
We're going to talk about the whole, that's the worst thing.
Oh, oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay.
Uh, one of your favorite films in recent months, Trumbo.
Yeah, it's a release on DVD and blue right this week.
Blue ray releases of my science project.
Oh, and beat street.
Oh, come on.
Very excited about this.
Can't believe they didn't do break it and beat street on the same day.
And my science project has one of the best lines that nobody knows.
That was in this film.
Why do you wear sunglasses a night?
Because when you're cool, the sun shines on you 24 hours a day.
Terrible film.
Great line.
Uh, criteria in collection, the this week releases Charlie Chaplin's
The Kid, as well as foreign film called Death by Hanging.
Oh, this week.
So we got that going force, which is nice.
Any tech corner stuff this week?
Uh, not that I can tell you.
I mean, I didn't really see anything that that's stuck out to me.
So there is that.
So let's go ahead and get straight to the list then.
We're on a little bit of head tonight, which is good.
No, not that one. This one.
We went bit of it.
We had every show with a list.
Tonight is no exception, but Chaplin's going to take the list.
So I'm going to take a sip of my tasty beverage.
Well, I'm kind of kind of running on a theme tonight.
I know that most of them are not running on empty.
No, no, no, no.
Speaking of which, speaking of Jackson Brown.
So more or not in the Grammys.
Glenn Fried tribute with Jackson Brown.
Don Henley Timothy B. Schmitt.
Walsh Walsh and there's I want to say, J.D.
South there.
I don't know if he's involved or not, but there's a fifth person involved.
There are allegedly going to be doing take it easy.
Oh, wow.
That's that's going to not a dry eye is going to be in that auditorium.
Well, given that tonight or today, I should say is Valentine's Day.
It is indeed.
Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.
They're listening to this either on the archive or on iTunes,
because you would have already been through it.
You may or may not be relegated to, you know, if you won't just kind of,
you know, make things a little simpler on yourself.
Cook dinner for this significant other and just
the throw a movie on.
The problem that you often run into is that it's either a movie
that she's really going to like and you're going to be completely distracted and
she's going to catch you fooling around on Facebook and throw a pillow upside your head.
And can I just say publicly that I'm gotten fairly lucky in that category
that my that the lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin has not made me sit through many of those.
Well, I was I tried my best to put together a list of where
they could be enjoyed by both. It's kind of like a date movie that's not going to put the guy to sleep.
All right, you know, and, you know, possibly won't get your man card revoked,
but it's something that, you know, I think both can find enjoyable.
And it might have been bronze and phrased in no particular order.
Starting with the princess bride.
See, the princess bride for me, that's I could watch that the room full of dudes in the
soul cool exactly my point, you know, because there's something really in that movie for
everybody, right, which is kind of the point. Kissing book, exactly the point of the
film as told by Peter Faulk to his grandson. It's it really reinforces the point of, yeah,
it's a love story, but, you know, I would say a young Fred Savage, but most of his career has been
made young Fred Savage, so I love the wonder years available now on DVD and blue right.
One of your favorite films, say anything. One of the greatest films of my generation,
I own the soundtrack. I own it on video. I own it on DVD. I own it on blue right. This is to me
to me, it's Cameron Crow's best film. It's iconic. Absolutely. It's gave her my heart and
she gave me a pen. I mean, who doesn't, as soon as you hear a certain Peter Gabriel song,
if you don't envision John Cusack with his hands overhead holding a boom box in a trench coat.
And what do we know about the ones on that didn't make the soundtrack that became a hit?
The smithorines of girl like you was actually written for say anything, but if you listen to it,
the producers felt that the lyrics gave too much of the movie away. Oh, really? So they released
it on their own. It was a huge hit. Scott Pilgrim versus the world.
I agree with you, but I wouldn't necessarily call it a datey type flick.
Watch it again. I mean, it's a love story. Don't get me wrong. Yeah. But it's one that you can kind of sneak
past her a little bit and say, no, what's a love story? Seriously, it's a love story. It is.
But it's it's so littered full of coal pop culture references, right? It's a special video
in the 80s and 90s. A few gentlemen that the ladies enjoy in T. So.
Jerry McGuire going back to the to the to the to the crow pantheon. I own the soundtrack. I know a lot
about the film. That's not when I can revisit multiple times. It I've I've gone back and
watched it again recently and it's still good. I wouldn't put it in like many people or it's a
virtue of the amount to rush more of his films, but it was better than vanilla sky. And if we
bought a zoo or whatever that was, we bought it. Yeah. I mean, if if I know other reason for all the
sports references littered throughout the thing, it makes it cool for a guy to watch. And she was great. Yes.
Of the impedes. I learned about Cuba. Mr. and Mrs. Smith saw that it to drive it. Indeed. We did.
And it kind of was the more or less the genesis of the Brangelina relationship. No, they were
they'd been together for a minute by the time they filmed that. That's what they were working on when
they kind of. Oh, really. Yeah. Fair enough. Yeah. I'm not a bad flick. But again, not one that I would
watch over and over and over again. No, but you know, again, it was fun for when it was. It's it's a it's an
interesting love story. One I this is when I deeply love is the wedding singer. Gen was watching
that just a couple of weeks ago. And I would love for that musical to roll through town. Yeah.
Uh, Bull Durham. Ah, yes. I don't know if you can really sneak that one past. I'm just saying it's
it's a there is a romance there. It's a good flick. Uh, there's something about Mary. Oh dear.
I will I will not. Yeah, I will not. Uh, verify that one, sir. You kind of don't have much choice here.
It's your list. I'm just choosing not to agree with this particular answer. There is a love story there.
It's just told in a very awkward manner. Much like the next one on my list for getting Sarah Marshall.
I like that film. I didn't love that film. I like that film. There's some very funny bits in that
film. And you know, there's one I use on this show quite a bit. You know what that what comes from that
don't you? Hmm. You sound like I'm not that bad. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry. I even said yes.
Um, and I kind of put this at the top of the list for number one, uh, because I love this
mug movie two death. And if you have a problem with it, you can definitely go out and say I know
you specifically certainly have a problem with it, but in Chanted. It's a good flick. I actually
went to the screening with your daughter. Yep. We had a very, very good time. And you know, I do have
a very unhealthy crush on the 80 atoms. Yes. I too. So, uh, yeah, I mean good. I don't know if there's
anything I would, when Harry Met Sally. Yeah. I don't know. I would give to when Harry Met Sally.
But not you've got mail. Uh, no, no, no, or Joe in the version of the volcano. Uh, love actually
is is another one I put in a relatively popular with both genders kind of film. And plus Alan
Rickman's brilliant. He's Alan Rickman. Uh, the rest of the song. And the recently released Deadpool.
I'm sorry. I'm putting it out there. I think you take your woman to that movie. She'll like it.
For another reason, round rumbles is in it. Yep. It's, it's a really film. And in round rumbles
themselves that it's a love story. And if he says so, then it must be true. We followed that with
I'm going to pay for this later. I'm trying to think of anything else that I would put in that
category. And I really, I can't think of anything off the bat. I'm sure there's, there's probably a
handful of Cameron Crow films you could probably throw in the list too. He tends to be able to
singles. Yeah. You could do that. Would you put almost famous in there? You could. Because there's
there's some romantic comedy type things in that. He really seems to have mastered this genre.
And now a film that that as I was doing research for this of, you know, giving me suggestions of films
that I have seen that I could put on this list. There was a film in particular that kept coming
up that I've never seen that the director went on to bigger and better things. Well, at least
the first go around when Mark Webb directed 500 days of summer. I've heard good things about that.
Elizabeth Town, another Cameron Crow film, which to me, it was not really a worthy successor to
almost famous. But no, it's got came after almost famous, though, didn't it? Yes, immediately after.
Where, where I'm mentioning Mark Webb, he went on to direct the site of the amazing spider
man, which, you know, if you really want to get technical about spider man too, yes.
Leave us to be sure. Stop what the multiple villains, please.
Anyway, but that's a well played, sir. Thank you, sir.
